Starting point is 00:00:00 As we get ready for LSU and Ole Miss, a lot of drama, right, surrounding this. We know there's a ton of drama. Now, you know, Lane is being accused of lying about Sam Levitt being injured, which, I mean, they're full of shit. I think that's pretty clear. They're full of shit. Now Levitt has gone from doubtful to questionable, and he was in practice today. But apparently this is just a kind of a walk-through practice, so it's not a heavy practice. But either way, people are all worked up over it.
Starting point is 00:00:28 the auditor of the state of Mississippi has said that if LSU plays Sam Levitt, he's going to audit Louisiana or LSU. What the fuck are we doing here? I love it. I love the drama of college football. Like you don't get this in the pros, but you don't even get this a lot in college anymore either
Starting point is 00:00:48 because the regionality of it has gone away and it's not as much fun anymore and there's not as much hate as there used to be, right? Like there's awful shit on the internet. But because you've taken a lot of the regional aspect out of it. It's not as much fun that way anymore, you know, because you've got USC being in the same conference as fucking Rutgers and, you know, Texas is now in the SEC and like all this different shit that's happening. And, you know, think about the teams that are in the
Starting point is 00:01:12 ACC. Think about Cal is in the ACC. Like the regionality has been taken out of it. A lot of rivalry games have been kind of removed and forgotten about or moved early in the year when they don't matter. There's a lot of things about college football that just sucks. And that sucks. but it sucked the life out of the once great institution of college football when it comes to this kind of drama. But LSU, O'Miss, Lane Kiffin game Saturday, it's old school fucking hate and bitterness and it's beautiful. But let's get into some of this stuff here after these words. Starting point is 00:02:24 I'm Siaya and I live in Ice Cove. I've made some questionable decisions that didn't end up the way I planned. and today I'm still figuring it out. Somehow things usually get worse before they get better. Apparently, that's how I roll. So bundle up and come along for the bumpy ride. Stream a new episode of North of North Tuesdays on CBC Gem. So this is a sexy matchup,
Starting point is 00:02:49 and it's gotten to the point now that these poor schlubs at Ole Miss, they had a roast of Lane Kiffin. So apparently like this group of people who are, are comedians, I guess. Comedians from the Memphis area. So Memphis area comedians and Oxford area comedians. I would imagine these are not very funny people here if I had to guess. I can't fathom that Oxford, Mississippi is just pumping out good quality comedy content.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Maybe I'm wrong. But I'm just going to assume that it's not funny shit that we're dealing with here. That said, let's give it a lot. listen. And let's just find out for ourselves how shitty this roast of Lane Kiffin actually was. Here we go. So got us to do something we've all never done before, week one. Root for Davosweeney. Now, mind you, this is a row. First of all, it's Davosweeney, not Davoswini. But this is a roast of someone who's not even there. So just think about that. 100 people pack the lyric for Elaine Kiffin-Rote.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Trader. Got a hell out. Let's go. Loser. Here's the thing. First of all, it's traitor. I don't know if I find anything more. Look, I find a lot of things annoying.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Like when people on social media call someone a loser on social media, but they spell it L-O-O-S-E-R, that's like a real thing that annoys the shit out of me. Like, just go back and fucking correct that, you moron. You didn't correct it because you think that's how you say. spell loser, you fucking loser. That's number one. Number two. When people call somebody a traitor, but refer to them as a
Starting point is 00:04:35 traitor, that is another thing. Like, there was no trade. He was a traitor. Anyway, we continue. Not with the coach himself, but with comedians from both Oxford and Memphis taking their best shots. Lane did something impossible
Starting point is 00:04:52 with his lawsuit against the SEC. He got the entire SEC conference and all the states in the South to agree on something other than 18's a little too old for the age of consent. Also, I'm really annoyed when hillbillies refer to the SEC as the SEC conference. It's redundant, you shit kicker. The C stands for conference. So you don't have to say the SEC conference. It's in the fucking title. The C means conference, you shit kicker.
Starting point is 00:05:29 We continue. Age of consent. Lane Kiffin writes material for us every day. In true Lane Kiffin fashion, he's been writing more and more, you know what I'm saying? He's like the Charlie Sheen of college football, so I think he's, he gave us plenty of stuff to write about. He's not even remotely like the Charlie Sheen. Like, I don't know how he's like Charlie Shee. He gave us plenty.
Starting point is 00:05:48 But apparently he's like the Charlie Sheen of football according to this hillbilly hayride roast that we're dealing with here. But like if if it's true that lane writes all of this great material for you every day, then why does your material suck? Like bless your heart, your material is just awful. Stuff to write about. Walt Carr runs the Oxford Comedy Collective. He organized the roast and knew the crowd would eat it up. People say, you know, you shouldn't roast somebody without them being there. That's kind of a people don't do that. I said, you know what else they don't do? They don't leave a playoff team right before they start a playoff game.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Because in Oxford... That's not really a roast. Like, that's just a really sad get-together of people. Like, well, they say you don't roast somebody that ain't there to defend themselves, but I'll say what you don't do is you don't go out and leave a playoff team. That's what you don't do. That's not really a joke. And that's not really roasting anybody like, oh, sick.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Burn. You're sure you're sure got him hillbilly Jeff Ross. He really knocked it out of the park. How funny do you assume the Oxford Comedy Collective is? Do you think that that's a funny group of guys? No offense to them. I'm not an attractive guy. I'm aware that I'm not an attractive guy. Bless their hearts. These guys look like mutants. These are like hills have eyes people doing what's really not funny shit. Like they've got a dartboard on some Lane Kiffin cutouts. And here's the best part. On the front of the podium, they have a character of Lane Kiffin. And he's wearing a visor.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And that visor says, coach lame. So that right there, friends, that is the Oxford Comedy Collective, really tickling your funny bone, just taking a jack-and-allenged. camera to your funny bone. Right before they start a play out of because in Oxford, everywhere you turn and I mean everywhere. Oh look they got his picture.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Oh look, they've got his picture on on urinal cakes. To be fair, that's a bit that I wanted to do for myself, but we never bought the urinal cakes. That's still something I'd like to do is buy things where people go take a leak at a bar and they're pissing on my face. Hey, you look familiar. Yeah, you pissed on my face, friend.
Starting point is 00:08:17 We're ready for Lane Kippins return. God. Bless their hearts, though, because this is truly all they have. Like, they are not some sort of special program. They've never won anything of significance. This is their moment in the sun. Like, their moment in the sun is if they beat Lane Kiffin. Because the reality of Ole Miss is,
Starting point is 00:08:42 Ole Miss will never be in the position they were in with Lane Kiffin ever again. Lane put them in that spot and because of that, you know, Lane had them in position and had them primed to make a run. No matter what they do from here on out, they're not going to get back there because Ole Miss has never gotten to that point and they're never going to get back to that point because that's just not the kind of program they are. They are not some sort of special like this is just what we do. We make deep playoff runs.
Starting point is 00:09:18 We don't, they don't, they're not a win big program. So I'm saying this from an LSU fan standpoint so you can say I'm biased or whatever and have at it. Say I'm biased on this one. But this is also a statement of reality. This is a statement of fact, okay? Fact, not opinion, that LSU is an exponentially more important, bigger, more successful program than Ole Miss. That is an irrefutable fact. It is not an opinion.
Starting point is 00:09:45 So if LSU goes out and loses this game, I will, I will, I, Look, real talk. I'll be pissed about it. Because I want LSU to just beat the shit out of these hillbillies, these trust fun hillbilly people. I would love nothing more than to watch these people get pecker slapped. I would enjoy it. And it's even better because you know it's all they have. Like, this is their Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:10:07 You know, remember all those years when the Eagles sucked, but it'd be like, hey, just beat the Cowboys. Like, that's this. Like, just go out and, like, they, like, if they beat, Lane Kiffin. They could go out and lose the next eight games and I don't think they'd give a shit. They'll hang a banner. They may hang a banner for beating Lane Kiffin. They hung a banner for finishing in second place in the SEC West. I think it's not
Starting point is 00:10:32 shocking or wouldn't be shocking to find out that they hang a banner for beating Lane Kiffin. That wouldn't shock anybody, would it? But then you got that and you got all these people that are putting shit on the internet about Kiffin's daughter banging some other players and she's denying she even met the guy before and you got people just doing fucked up shit. And look, there's a lot of it. Like, I enjoy that there's some drama around and I enjoy that there's people pissed off. I enjoy that there's some angst about it. I enjoy that there's some drama and some buildup, you know? Because look, I've never been someone that's really hated Ole Miss. That's never really been
Starting point is 00:11:08 my bag. I know that, like, historically, LSU and Ole Miss are rivals. And if you were around in the 60s, it mattered. And if you were in the 70s, it mattered. I don't give a shit. Because in the 2000s, when I started getting into it, late 90s, early 2000s, Ole Miss was mostly a waste of time, and LSU was competing with Auburn. That was who the SEC West would come down to, is LSU and Auburn when I was younger, right? Then, you know, Bama got good again, and occasionally somebody else would pop up. But it's like this. Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Ole Miss is probably a notch or two above Arkansas right now, but historically, they're probably kind of on the same wavelength, right? When I went to a game, I was in Arkansas, me and Jellie went a couple years ago when LSU played against Arkansas on the road, right? And for them, LSU is a giant rival and it's the battle for the golden boot and all this shit. I'm an LSU fan.
Starting point is 00:12:00 I don't give too fucks about what happens with Arkansas, except I want to beat them just so they can't have joy. I don't want to beat them because I get joy from beating them because they are Arkansas. I want to beat them because I get joy knowing that they're not going to have joy because beating LSU is where most of their joy comes from. Does that make any sense? Am I making any sense with this message I'm trying to convey here?
Starting point is 00:12:26 Like, I don't care. It's the same thing with Ole Miss. Like, I don't, it's the same thing with the Atlanta Falcons with the Saints. Like, I know the Saints and Falcons are rivals and I'm supposed to hate the Falcons for that. I don't give a shit. Like, I don't give a shit about the Falcons, really, you know? Because for the most part, they're out of sight out of mine. I'm not a real contender.
Starting point is 00:12:43 So they don't phase me. But like, tell me if I'm wrong here. And if you feel this way about some of the teams that your teams face, like rivals, quote unquote, like Arkansas. Arkansas would feel great about themselves winning the golden boot. Like, winning the golden boot is a huge thing for the people of Arkansas. Like, it matters to them. They're passionate about the idea of winning the golden boot. Like, there was a year that LSU just left the fucking golden boot on the field.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Like, they just left it there. Like, all right, we're going to go now. We don't need this yet. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's kind of a thing for LSU. They don't care about the golden boot. And the fans don't care about the golden boot except for it keeps Arkansas from having joy. And that's how I feel about this old Miss thing.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Like, I want them to win because I want LSU to win every football game because I root for LSU. But I really want them to win just so these people who view this as the biggest thing in their lives, these people who hate Lane Kiffin and they want Lane Kiffin to be dead. And they're talking shit about his daughter on the internet. internet and all this shit. I just don't want them to have nice things. Like I want, like,
Starting point is 00:13:53 and they can sit there and play it up like it's not a big deal to them. And like, it's just another game. Whatever it, this is the biggest game they're ever going to play. I mean, I don't think this is debatable. This is the biggest home game in the history of Ole Miss football.
Starting point is 00:14:09 It doesn't get any bigger than this. This is it. This is the apex of Ole Miss football at home. I can think of 20 big LSU home games. Ole Miss has probably had a handful in their entire existence. This being probably the biggest one they've ever had. I mean, the tickets are going for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Airbnbs are going for thousands of dollars.
Starting point is 00:14:32 You got fucking the Oxford Comedy Collective doing a roast. This is as big as it's ever going to be for Ole Miss. And it would just be so fucking sweet. because unless you could lose this and then win all the rest of their games and go to the and could advance and do big things still. Like that, like you don't want to lose it, but you can afford to lose it. Like your season's not over and your program's not dead if you lose this game.
Starting point is 00:15:02 But Ole Miss, it's kind of like if you lose this, the people turn on the coach, the people turn on the team, you know, like it, it changes things for them. If they win this, they're building statues. of people. If they lose it, they're burning the city to the ground. So I'm fascinated by this this week. And this is going to be wonderful television, compelling television. All right, anyway, more to come.
