So we tried the Bush light apple yesterday and it was tasty.
A lot of times you'll get these apple beers or like fruit beers.
Like I told you I tried the peach Bush light last year, two years ago, and I thought it was gross.
Like you had like the first couple drinks, you're like, oh, this isn't bad.
Then you drink it and it gets really kind of sweet and it's just I don't think it was very good.
The Bush light apple. I
told you I picked up a couple cases yesterday and we had a
couple last night watching the ball games and it was actually
pretty good. The apple wasn't overbearing. It wasn't overly
sweet and had a couple of them last night. It was solid. So if
you have an opportunity to pick up the Bush light apple, if
you've never tried it, I would at least try it. Do I think it's the
greatest thing I've ever had? No, like people talk about this
thing like it's God's gift to beers and it's kind of got like
an online cult following and the folks call it the Bapple, but
it was fine. It was good. I drank it like I'm not regretting
purchasing 230 racks of it. Even if I did regret it, I have
to drink them. So we're going to do that. But one bad, one bad. So
I would advocate for all of you to at least give it a, I'm
advocating for the Bushlight Apple. I would urge you to give
it a shot. Just go pop over, find it if you have it. I don't
even know if they have it in some of these places. Like I
don't know where it's available, where it's not available. But
if it is available where you are,
I would urge you to give it a taste test.
Give it a little run. Give it a little try.
They have 12 packs of it as well.
You don't have to invest in the 30 pack,
but give it a shot. See what it's about.
See if you like it. See if it's tasty.
See if it's scrumdiddlyumptious for you.
Certainly a refreshing little beer.
Like, before I moved here, I had no interest in Busch Light. In
fact, I think I had it once and I just thought it was vile and
I don't know that my taste buds have changed or what but moving
here, I like and it was by accident almost. It was by
force like we were at a ball game and there's this one
section of Busch Stadium that that has like $5 beers or
something like that.
And the options were like Budweiser and Bush Lite.
Those are the options.
And I'm like, fine, fuck it.
I'll get Bush Lite a try.
It was the only place in the stadium you can get draft beer, which is weird to me
that it seems harder and harder to find draft beer in a lot of these stadiums.
Right?
You get these big 25 ounce cans and shit, but you never really get
like the good cold draft beer. So I got one and I drank it and
I looked at Jillian like this really isn't that fucking bad.
It's actually kind of good and I grew to enjoy it and now
that's our main drink. Like if you know, I told you I like my
domestic beer. That's my go-to domestic beer Bush light, baby
and get a 30 rack for about 21 bucks and have yourself a nice weekend
So that's what we do, but I would urge you to try the bush light apple and let me know what you think about it
I liked it tasty
It'll make for a nice Sunday Yahtzee beer yacht rock Yahtzee and some bush light apples this weekend should be nice
All right, let's play a couple commercials and we will continue. All right, it's the playoffs, basketball playoffs right now and
there is no better way to try to make a couple of bucks by putting your knowledge of hoops
to the test than using pick six from DraftKings. You can turn that hoops knowledge into real

plays. So why not give it a shot? I use it. Jilly uses it.
Let me tell you when she's hanging out and she's building
these things. She's a wizard. I would text her I would send her
a DM and be like, Hey, who do I play on on the pick six because
you're a wizard when it comes to basketball parlay's but nobody
is dropping better payouts than pick six hit six picks and that's 25 times your
cash and if you beat your competition you could be looking at a 500 times bag

So, I want to thank everybody. I've been getting a lot of positive messages from Philadelphia
people about this 97.5 job and I know I keep talking about it every day, but I want to give you updates every day.
It is now Tuesday.
I applied for that job on Friday, and to this point, I have not gotten a response.
So I have no idea what's going to happen.
I technically got a response because I got the email that said, hey, there's been 100
people that have applied for this, And that's all I got.
Because then I'll tell you what I did. Once I got that, I did
get that little email back that said, hey, I'm on vacation.
We've had 100 people apply for this job. I didn't know even if
that was AI or what. Jillie's convinced it was just an AI
response. So I took a video, a screenshot, a screen capture of
all of the comments that I had
from people about going back to Philadelphia, just me scrolling
through them, and I emailed that to the program director, and
I'm like, listen, I know you're not going to hire me. I feel
pretty confident that's never going to happen. However, I'm
going to send this to you to let you see that there are a
lot of people who have interest in this. Now, in my experience,
if they were truly interested
or if they were truly looking for someone,
I feel like they would have at least been like,
hey, hold up, I'm on vacation this week,
but we've got to talk, don't do anything.
I didn't get that reaction,
so I feel pretty confident
that that has no chance of happening.
They may already know who they want.
They might have already had this thing planned out.
Like, I feel like if they've known
they were gonna whack this guy for a while, they've probably already done something,
and this is probably not even a realistic job. You just have to post it. You have to post the job
because that's just the way the world works. You have to post it even though you know the person
you want. So I feel pretty confident that I have. I mean, I've told you, there's a 0% chance that I have. I mean I've told you there's a 0% chance that I get this job but I have been really moved in a way by the positivity from people on my social media. I don't know
if this is just an example of you know time heals all wounds or what this is an example
of but the number of people who say super positive things about me coming back to Philly
is very nice. Now it's on my social media and it hasn't
been shared by like a rando social media that's going to be
filled with people who don't like me. So I'm not of some
mindset that like this is how all of Philadelphia feels like
please bring this guy back. But even on my own social media, I
usually get a lot of negative **** and this has not gotten a
lot of negative ****. So let not gotten a lot of negative shit. So
Let me read you some of these these comments are awesome, and I truly appreciate this
You were the last good thing on sports radio in this town. It's a disaster. Thanks
the autumn wind 81
Paul here says we need you back Philly is in dire need of some riveting radio miss Miss you. I mean I like that. I like you too.
Let's see. Let's see. I responded to something yesterday, some stupid poll that WIP was doing, and I added 97.5 and I said hey bring me back and let's compete against this. That station is and
will always be a bastard stepchild of WIP. Both suck. Sports
Talk radio in this city is terrible. Let's see. It's lit if you come back. Thanks,
HomHom2155. Let's see. This person does not like me. Just told me to shut the fuck up.
That's totally fine. This is a nice comment from Adam. Let's see. I agree. Need a little give and take here. Either way, you were hilarious
and I'd listen to you from start to finish. Hope you're back soon. Josh was on when my
dad was sick and ultimately dying. I turned on the radio back then and it almost took
me out of reality for a few hours. I'll always respect him for that. Wish nothing but the best for him." Well, thank you, Adam
Smith. That's very nice of you to say. I don't know if you listen to the podcast or not,
but that was very nice of you to say and I'm glad that I could help there.
It's just amazing because kind of going back to the Katy Perry thing, if you only see negative,
then that's how you're going to see it. And that's all I saw when I was in Philadelphia. I know that this is a smaller
scale like what Katy Perry gets or you know whomever gets
Taylor Swift gets the kind of shit those people get is
gigantic relative to what it is that I get and I totally
understand that but when you're in the middle of getting shit
on constantly it feels like it is a nonstop never-ending snowball, and it
just keeps rolling and building and building. Particularly
in that era, particularly in that city, it was just like a
never-ending hate fest, and it was impossible to see the
positives, and I embrace the hate so much that I never saw
the positives from people.
Let's see. Philly Sports Radio for the most part is awful. All the hosts I liked have either
been retired in recent years or have been fired. There's not many left that I
like. Philly needs a Josh Ennis back on the airwaves. Josh was here during the
dead period of Philly Sports Talk, that is true. I am fully convinced that if the
Eagles Super Bowl run happened when he was here, he would still be here. He was what we needed during that time. I hope
he returns. I agree with that. I've had that discussion many times. If teams were better
when I was there, it would have made it a lot easier to drop the Missanelli shit earlier.
I think ultimately here was the killer, and we've talked about this many times. The killer for me in Philadelphia
partially was that I didn't fully embrace it all and that's
on me. But a bigger issue was that the teams were so bad. I
mean baseball was tanking, basketball was tanking on
purpose, hockey was middling and no one really gives a shit
about talking about hockey anyway. So what were you stuck with?
You had the Eagles who my first year there when I had my
first show on the air was like the Friday before they played
the Saints in the playoffs the next year. They went 10 and
six and missed the playoffs and collapse the next year after
that. They did nothing so you know they eventually had to
fire the coach. So what was there to really talk about? There wasn't. Like how do you go in every day
and go, well, let's talk about the Phillies. Now some of these
Phillies sports guys can do that. I can't. I tell you this
all the time. When I got there, when I knew I was getting the
job, I started listening more to WIP on the phone when I was
in Houston. This is 2013, end of 2013.
I'm listening.
And I hear Rob Ellis doing the night show on WIP. Before they
fired Glenn moved into the afternoons with the Cuzz.
I'm listening to this and I want to say that the
the the the Sixers who were supposed to be tanking beat the
heat. And I don't
know if they were 2-0 or 3-0 to start or I forgot what exactly happened but
they had beaten the Miami Heat the the the Heedles you know the big the big
three all that shit and Rob Ellis is on the radio asking people baiting for
calls asking if he thinks that the Sixers should now get out of tanking and try to compete now.
And it's just the low-hanging fruit, awful uninteresting bullshit, right, that you're used to
there. And some people can do that because that's how they view what's good. Rob Ellis can get on
the radio tomorrow and take 15 consecutive phone calls about a bad hockey team.
I can't do that.
That's not interesting to me.
So when I was trying to keep the audience into it,
my instinct was just to keep going back
to shitting on Missinelli, even though we were already
beating the shit out of Missinelli.
Like, he was dead, buried.
We had him.
If I would have eased out of that.
Now, mind you, I'm doing the show with Spike. We're still doing well by the
end of the year and my old boss Andy gets fired. So then
it's what's next? And then that's when it really started falling
apart because the Eagles were really bad. They had fired the
coach and then I got suspended. Then we had to replace members
of the show and it just became a train wreck and that's when
it really got bad.
But if it would have been a point where if the Eagles were
even a semi competitive team, like a good enough team to
make a playoff run, it would have been better. If the Phillies
would have been a competitive team that you could talk about
on a day-to-day basis, the only shit we had to talk about
with the Phillies is people throwing shit at fucking at Ryan
Howard or the fucking
closer grabbing his dick towards the fans. Like that's all we had to
talk about because that was it. So I was trying to find ways to make boring
shit more interesting. Whereas the people who have the jobs there just
take boring shit and keep it boring. If the things would have been more fun
and the teams would have been better, I think it would have made it easier to
stop trying to go to the Missanelli well. And if we would have been more fun and the teams would have been better. I think it would have made it easier to stop trying to go to the Missanelli well and if we would have done that earlier and just got back
into being a fun show that wasn't so centered around shitting on Missanelli, I think that would
have been a saving grace for it, which I agree with this person who said that. Let's see,
said that. Let's see. Who's your favorite right handed green eyed 5'9' Philly athlete between 1980 and 1999? This is why I don't participate in sports radio. But I did listen
to a lot of sports radio when Josh was on. Says Jonathan, thank you. I got people from
St. Louis saying they enjoyed the show too. Hiring Josh Ennis would mean 97.5 would finally
compete against 94.1 in ratings. Don't let Mike Miss ruin your
chance at the station changing ratings. Do the right thing. I
mean these are just all day I'm getting these messages. People sending
messages to Scott Masteller, the program director. And again, I
would not urge you to email the program director. However, I have gotten multiple emails from people
who have emailed the program director to let me know what they're saying. Example, let's
see this one is bring Josh Ennis back to Philly from this is Matt Raismeman who sent a long email to Scott
Masteller. So there's that one. There is Eric Martin who also
blind CC'd me on a long email he sent to Scott Masteller
advocating that he like again this I don't think this is
gonna matter but I appreciate it. Like I appreciate that there's so many people that would have that much
interest in having me come back there.
Honestly, I do not believe I could go back there and beat WIP because I
don't think anybody could beat WIP after the Super Bowls and everything
else. WIP is just a monster and you're not going to beat them, but I
think you can compete with them and make your station more viable.
And I truly believe this. There is not a person you can hire that them and make your station more viable. And I truly believe this.
There is not a person you can hire that will even give you a shot at viability.
The only person that can do that is me, but you're not going to hire me.
And that's your sandbox.
You can do whatever the fuck you want, but that would be the play.
And I think that would at least generate some interest and the blogs would write about it
in the papers and the TV and at least it would have some ears on it and then it would be a matter
of whether or not you could keep the people that would be there for that
initial buzz of it. You want to see gigantic fucking numbers on a radio show?
Tease that I'm gonna that I have a job it's all over the papers that first show
whenever that is say you got a 2.5 most days that show will
probably have a 10 that day now again you have to have that tomorrow and the
next day the next day which you may not so it may not matter but it would be a
huge story there would we be able to maintain it I don't know but I feel
pretty confident that that it's never to happen again 0.0% but
I appreciate all the people who have been sending the messages.
I would never advocate for you emailing Scott Masteller who
is the program director while he's on vacation. I would never
ever ever ever do that. I would never ever advocate for you
ever do that. I would never ever advocate for you emailing scott.masteller m-a-s-t-e-l-l-e-r at bbgi.com. I would never advocate you doing that while this man is trying to enjoy his vacation. But look, you can do whatever you want. It's your world scott.masteller at bbgi.com.
But look, I'm not advocating to it.
The man's on vacation.
Anyway, more to come.
