All right, everybody. It's Josh and Jilly. It's Sunday night, 1030.
And we just finished watching Sunday Night Football where old Geno Smith got hurt, so it killed a lot of my plays.
He can go fuck himself. That's fine.
Big announcement on the pod.
My parlay, though.
You're not going to talk about my parlay that miraculously hit?
Well, what was your parlay?
I had Christian Watson for 40 yards.
I had Smith and Jigba for 60.
I had the Charbonnet touchdown,
which didn't look like they were going to have a touchdown at all.
And then I had Jordan Love for 225,
and he just decided to throw that touchdown at the end of the game
for the hell of it.
So thanks, Jordan Love. i give you credit for that but all i'm gonna say is i would have had a couple of big hits if this dickhead geno smith wouldn't have busted up his goddamn leg and we can get into that
uh a lot of good football today uh texans clenched the division right so the texans
have clenched their division so that's something that we'll get into in a pod.
We also have an announcement that we have adopted another dog.
His name is Ross.
We don't know what breed he is.
All we know is that Ross is a pup that was wandering the streets. He had fleas and like, like to the
point that he had to like bite a lot of his hair came off cause he was, uh, just covered in fleas
and he was biting the fleas off. But Ross is now here and he lives with us and he is our puppy.
We officially signed up to have Ross and, uh, and he he's here Jilly's petting Ross right now
and Ross loves me for whatever reason I don't know why dogs love me so much but dogs do love me so
much and um and here it is Ross we we estimate that well I don't even it's not our estimation
um Ross is apparently two to three years old they don don't know. He had a nice little, uh, foster that he was living in.
We met the people yesterday and now Ross lives with us and Ross is going to live with us
forever.
Cause he's a sweet, sweet boy.
He's got tons of energy, even though he's two, three, however old he is.
And, uh, you know, we, even though like two and three is not old.
Well, I know that, but so like, basically I used like I always look at Pet Finder and see if there's any puppies out there and just see what's cooking.
And and and I saw this old puppy pop up and he had this just old man face about him and he was just like.
And I was like, well, you look like a sweet boy.
And I showed Jelly.
I'm like, look at this little guy
you know we want another dog and and dogs bring us some happiness and I just wanted to show you
you know this little puppy and he had this old man face about him and and I said he's cute right
and it said he was a schnauzer poodle which I don't believe he's a schnauzer poodle but um he
I think he's got some schnauzer in him and maybe some border collie and some other stuff he's got
tons of energy this little bastard can jump for days like he's just got like he's got some schnauzer in him and maybe some border collie and some other stuff. He's got tons of energy.
This little bastard can jump for days.
He's an agility dog.
It's wild.
I think the interesting part is you had always been looking at Petfinder.
And I'd get mad because we'd see really cute dogs and I'd want them and they were the really far away.
You'd say, oh, should we get these?
You're like, I don't know.
I don't want to do the application.
I was always hesitant.
I'm like, so why are you showing me this?
Because I'd get sad.
I'd be very sad.
I'm like, well, I want a dog, but you don't have a job.
We don't know where we're going to live.
We probably shouldn't.
So we actually decided, finally, we should probably stop looking at Pet Finder.
And then the next day, which I think was like Luther's gotcha day, this guy pops up.
And you're like, OK, don't hate me.
Look at this dog.
I know.
And he had such a sweet face.
And he just had this nice, he was wearing a little sweater.
And he's not like the type of dog that we even look for because he's solid black.
And he sheds a little bit.
And he's got this little old man face about him, a little gray in his beard, even though he's only like two or three.
And he's super sweet.
And I was like, well, maybe we should reach out about this dog.
So I sent an email to these people because well most notably the dog was in southern Illinois in
Carbondale Illinois which is about two hours from St. Louis and I was like you know what I'm going
to send an email and see if we get a response and almost instantly I got a response from these nice
people that were running this rescue and they were super sweet and I went back and
forth with some questions and I was like well hey just let me know if we can come meet him this
weekend because I was like screw it let's go meet him and um and they were like listen we can come
you can come meet him on Saturday and I was like well great we'll come on Saturday so we made this
little trek uh down to Carbondale Illinois which is in southern Illinois and uh we went down there
we stopped at some place
got this big barbecue sandwich all this shit and I went down and we met at the foster mom's house
and this dog was so sweet and and he actually peed the second I walked in he started peeing
and I was like well boy he's a mess but then I sat down on the floor and he just started cuddling
up with me I don't know what it is dogs love me I don't understand it I don't know why dogs love me Luther loved me every
dog I ever meet loves me there's not a dog out there that's like afraid of me or worried about
me dogs just love me and I don't know why the funnier part too was that we walked in they're
like well we were kind of nervous because like you were the one emailing so they knew like oh
Josh that's a guy.
And he hasn't really been around guys because his mom was just a lady with all these dogs and stuff.
And the people that run the rescue, I think, are two women who are just two vet techs who started a rescue.
Like, well, he hasn't really been around men.
So we don't know how he's going to act.
And now, of course, just like Luther.
He's got a few luther similarities for
what are the luther similarities um well certainly being like obsessed with you yes just like luther
like you went to go live bet the football games and instead of him sitting in here with me he goes
in the front other room and sits in the window looking for you yeah um i don't think what else I mean like the grundle scratches the
type of toy he likes
I guess
look he's got very Luther tendencies
so we meet
them and they're wonderful people
and I sit on the floor and he's just like
rolling around and he's having a good time with me
and I'm like well he's sweet
and they're like well do you guys want to try like this little two, like a two-week trial run to see if you like him?
I'm like, nope, I think we like him.
So we just officially adopted him.
And we brought him here.
And then last night, like this guy just climbs in bed with us.
And like he's snuggling up and just filling up half the bed.
And he's such a sweet boy.
And he's wonderful. So, just filling up half the bed. And he's such a sweet boy. And he's wonderful.
So, yeah.
So here we are.
We have a puppy.
And his name is Ross.
The origin of his name, I asked that because I was like, why is this dog named Ross?
They're like, well, we think, you know, he kind of reminded us of Ross from Friends.
And I'm like, well, I've never really watched Friends.
If you do, you would see it.
Like, in the picture that was on his pet finder I'm like I knew it because he
does look like Ross. I love Friends
so I was totally fine keeping the name.
Uh oh. Well I'm totally fine with keeping
the name too like that doesn't bother me at all.
So his name
is Ross. You wanted to make sure it wasn't named
after Grandpa Rossy. Well no
I wanted to make sure. I did not
want the dog to be named after David Ross
who was the manager of the Cubs for a while,
and I found that whole name to be annoying.
So I wanted to make sure that he was not named after David Ross.
He is not named after David Ross.
But it's logical to think that because it's in Illinois and everything else.
But, no, he is named after Ross from Friends.
I was like, that's fine with me.
Let's call him Ross from Friends.
We should watch all of Friends now.
You've never watched all of Friends. I've never watched any of Friends. I couldn't tell you anything from fucking Friends. I was like, that's fine with me. Let's call him Ross from Friends. We should watch all of Friends now. You've never watched all of Friends.
I've never watched any of Friends. I couldn't tell you
anything from fucking Friends. I can quote the whole series.
That's great. I have no interest
or no idea what happens in Friends.
And here he is.
So this is our new sweet puppy boy.
He's got tons of energy. He likes dogs
so maybe we could get him a Rachel.
That's true. When we were sitting there
and petting him at this house, they're like, well, he's Ross.
Hey, if you want to find him a Rachel, we're like, hey, we probably can.
Because if he likes dogs, he likes dogs.
Like Luther hated dogs.
Not to the point that he wanted to attack them or anything.
He just didn't like them.
He didn't want them in his house.
He certainly didn't want dogs in his house.
And he certainly didn't want dogs fucking with him.
But Luther was fine with dogs like at daycare. he'd sit around at daycare and just observe dogs but luther was not
the kind of dog that liked to play with other dogs he was not an just that's just not what they did
and anytime he did it was breaking news like they'd almost have to like call us if luther was
playing with dogs at daycare like if luther was playing with dogs at daycare they'd be like hey
um we just want to let you know that there's nothing wrong except that Luther is playing with
dogs at daycare. And, um, this is pretty fucked up and we're not used to seeing this. So like
Luther, that was just his thing. He didn't like to play with other dogs. This guy has tons of
energy, loves to play with dogs. He was running around like a madman in the yard here. And he,
he likes other dogs for whatever reason the yard here and he he likes
other dogs for whatever reason they told us that he likes other dogs there's videos of him on the
the um the fosters uh the the adoption place and he's like cuddling up with other dogs that's just
how ross is so i give him credit but here he is we've got a new sweet puppy his name is Ross and he's awesome and I've taken
him for long walks today like apparently he like he wasn't a guy that got like a bunch of long walks
but he's got the energy for I mean this guy's got tons of energy he also wears the same like he wore
Luther's party harness yeah so Luther's party harness is his old blue harness
that has a beer mug on it well but well i guess i should share this story so here in our backyard
hey ross ross don't bite um in our backyard here at this house in st louis which hopefully we don't
live in much longer nothing against the house just hopefully we don't live here much longer
because i get a job and we get the fuck out of here there's a tiny little water feature that's
in the back it looks like it should be a fire pit but it's like water that's the best way to
describe it it's not huge no it's stupid and we have this little fire pit in the back that's
filled with water and it's gross and filled with just funk and grossness because we had to turn it
off the bubbling off because like it just was running up a bill and it was stupid.
So last night, Ross goes in the backyard and instantly just accidentally walks into this fucking water feature that was deeper than I thought it was because I had to help him out of it.
So he's covering all this nastiness.
So I put him in the bathtub.
His first memory at the house.
Poor boy.
He's like, holy shit. I fall all this nastiness. So I put him in the bathtub. His first memory at the house. Poor boy. He's like, holy shit.
I fall into this water pit.
Then you pick me up and put me in a goddamn bathtub.
So that happened.
And I try to clean him off and everything and all that.
But I'm like, shit, this poor little shit.
First experience at this house is he falls into this nasty, algae-filled, disgusting fucking thing.
And he's, like, struggling to get out.
I'm like, can you get out?
He's like, no, I can't.
So I have to go pick him up and get him out of this damn thing.
It's a whole fucking thing.
So we bring him inside.
I give him a bath.
But what was amazing is, like, he was clearly scared of the idea of getting a bath, which is fine.
But then like he just came to bed and slept like he slept with us.
He had real talk.
He had diarrhea last night.
I'm thinking it's because he had some nerves.
But he like had all the he had a little diarrhea last night.
So every like hour I'd have to get up with him and go outside.
But outside of that, everything else seemed to be fine.
He also like let us know every time
he had to go, which was really impressive. He didn't have any
accidents, which if he would have, I wouldn't
have blamed him.
And here's the other weird thing. This dog likes to eat.

of Congress to get Luther to eat. Like you'd have to put food in his bowl. Then you'd have to put
food on top of it and toppers on top of it. This dog begs for food. Like this is something I've never experienced
in my life. Like I've never experienced a situation where I've had a dog that is like,
wants to eat constantly. Whereas Luther, like it was like an issue because Luther never wanted to
eat, but this dog constantly wants to eat. Like he's just a pig, which is great.
Well, apparently when they found him.
Oh, boy.
So apparently when they found him, he was underweight.
Because they have no idea how long he was out on the streets alone.
But he might have been out on the streets alone for a good amount of time.
Like he was out there for a good period of time.
And they found him. And when they found him, he was out there for a good period of time and they found him and when they
found him he was about uh about 25 26 pounds and they think he needs to be about 30 so they've been
feeding him food that's you know a little bit heavier and you know trying to get him at weight
he's close to weight now but like it's just wild to think about this man that like luther hated to
eat and you had to force him to eat this guy
begs for everything you give him like his flea and tick meds the little shit loves the flea and
tick meds he's like feed me all the flea and tick meds i can have give me all of it whereas luther
you'd be like luther eat the you know eat the flea and tick meds be like nope i need some other shit
with it and he would never eat i mean you guys listen to the podcasta and tick meds. Be like, nope, I need some other shit with it. And he would never eat. I mean, you guys listen to the podcast.
You'd hear us trying to feed him the shit.
That's just not what Luther does or did.
But like, it's just weird.
Like, I'm not saying one is better than the other.
But what I'm saying is that,
that like watching a dog that wants to eat food is crazy.
It's bonkers watching a dog
that wants to actually eat food.
Just kibble.
Like nothing mixed with it, just kibble.
But Luther, he would never,
like Luther would never just eat kibble.
But if you put Luther with like Caesar
and a bunch of other shit, he might eat it.
This dog, you put kibble down,
he's like, let's fucking go.
That's what he likes.
I don't know how to explain it it's just a
weird situation i've never experienced it before but he just seems like such a nice guy and then
like we sit here and he just lays on me and like now grant he's got a ton of energy he runs a ton
and like when we met the people they're like this dog is like an agility dog and he really is like
when you watch him running around the backyard, this guy's like
jumping over shit.
He's like parkouring shit.
Ross, where are you going?
Ross.
He's a good boy.
But I just, I, we wanted to share that with you guys, that Ross is a good boy.
That Ross is a, is our new friend and he's wonderful.
And his, his foster people were great. And the,, and the place that the rescue he was from is great, and he's just got tons of energy.
They think he's two to three.
He's got a little gray in his beard.
Oh, wait.
Wait a second.
Do you have to go potty?
Ross.
But last time I checked out there, you didn't go potty, Ross.
He's got lots of energy, though, this Ross does't go potty, Ross. He's still learning.
He's got lots of energy, though, this Ross does.
He's a good boy.
He's a sweet boy.
But look, so we just wanted to share our new dog.
His name is Ross.
Pictures on the gram.
There's pictures on the gram if you want to see him.
He's such a lovely boy.
He's got tons of energy.
But he loves to snuggle.
He was covered in fleas when they found him
and they were just they they're like he had he lost a lot of hair because of how much
how the fleas were so like he'd have to go out and he'd be like he'd bite all these fleas off of him
but he's so wonderful he's filled with energy but he's filled with cuddles he cuddles so much and
he loves to cuddle to me he looks smaller looks smaller in the first picture with just his eyes,
but he's actually taller than Luther, but not as thick.
No, he's certainly not as thick, but he's taller.
He's a couple pounds less than Luther, but he's bigger than Luther.
Yes, he's taller.
Luther was stout.
Luther was a fullback, a linebacker.
That's kind of what Luther was.
This puppy is in better shape so we
better not make him fucking fat like that's the part that worries me i'm like we get this dog's
like now he's gotten himself into position where he's in better shape let's not make this poor
little bastard fat which i don't think we will bless luther's heart we've learned a lot from
luther about things that you know we shouldn't give him all like we bought some of the healthier
treats we didn't get him like the nyla we bought some of the healthier treats. We didn't get him, like, the Nylabones that, like,
caused Luther to have seven missing teeth.
Yeah, so, like, when they dropped him off to us,
they're like, here's this bone that he loves,
and it's one of these hard bones.
And I'm like, well, we're going to find him a soft bone
because we gave Luther all the hard bones,
and this poor little guy lost seven teeth.
So that's certainly not something we want to do this time around.
Yeah, so we've been better about that. We're going to get him some carrots for a couple treats, which I mean, this guy loves
food. So I don't think we're assholes. But, you know, instead of like all the bacon, he
gets some bacon. But he'll still, you know, get a couple carrots and some cod mixed in there
before he gets pancreatitis. Right. We did not want you to get pancreatitis.
But like he is so sweet. And what was amazing is the first night he was
here, like if not for the
fact that he had diarrhea which may have been because of nerves who knows why he had the diarrhea
but like he cuddled up with us and he was such a good boy such a sweet boy slept on the ottoman
at the foot of our bed which was actually there to help luther jump on the bed this guy doesn't
need it because he's taller he can just jump on the bed i mean this guy soars through the air we
have the ottoman there still and And he slept on the ottoman.
It was so weird.
And then after the diarrhea,
he just came and cuddled right like,
I mean, head on the pillow.
Oh, dude.
So this morning at like six in the morning,
a dog next door barks.
And my boy here gets up and he's like,
take me outside.
So I take him outside.
He climbs up in the bed and gets between the two of us.
And like, he's curled up on my head, basically.
Like, it's wild so
the dog next door barks every day
at 630 so get ready yeah we're
gonna be waking up a lot but
but anyway Ross is a
sweet boy he's a wonderful
boy and if you haven't
seen him you can check out the the
Josh in a show Instagram but he's such a good
boy and he and
and he has so much energy and and he loves to jump around,
and he loves to play, and he is just a sweet boy.
And we enjoy having him here.
And when I saw that picture of him, I was like, you know what?
We need to get this puppy.
He had such a sweet – what's funny is he's not old,
but he had an old man face.
And then the gals that were his his foster mom and the and all that they were like like he's got gray in his muzzle but that's just natural but like he's not old he's a young guy
but like he's just oh gosh you're such a good boy i love you oh you're such a good boy. Give me a kiss. Oh, thank you. Thank you so much.
He's a good boy. So, and he loves other dogs. So like, like we look forward to taking him to day
care because at day care, he's going to have a bunch of other dogs to play with. Right? Right,
Rossi? Oh, give me a kiss. Oh, you're a good boy. So he's gonna have all sorts of dogs to play with and
all sorts of fun so anyway i know you guys got other things you're interested in but i wanted
to tell you that here he is mr ross sweet puppy we love him he's great and he's our new pup and
who knows he might get a sister or a brother or holy cow, he's in his bed for the first.
Lay in that bed.
But we bought him this big, expensive bed that he had no interest.
He's.
You say expensive.
It was $40 at HomeGoods.
Well, you say that, but $40 is expensive for a dog bed.
But now this is the first time he's laid in it.
We were like, well, I guess he doesn't like this bed.
But here.
Oh, wow.
You guys are part of history.'s uh there's uh rossi and oh boy see that's
a oh good boy rossi and he's laying in the bed look at it how do you feel how do you feel good
good good good again like you say it's inexpensive but there are like 300 dog beds on the internet
but to me 40 for a dog bed is still expensive.
They have like a Sealy Posturepedic there for like $70.
Still, to me, $40 for a dog bed is still pretty expensive.
But he has never even stepped.
I say never even.
It's been a day.
But he's never stepped in this bed.
And then here he is just laying in this big bed.
This is a nice thing.
Look at him.
Good boy, Ross. you're a good sweet boy
he's a good boy what a sweet puppy he is what a sweet poopy Ross are you a good boy oh boy
and it felt strange having a dog that wasn't Luther but then he's got some Luther tendencies
where you're like well you know what like He's got Luther qualities about him. So maybe Luther said, hey, here you
go. Here's a buddy for you. I like to think so. Again, we saw him on his gotcha day. We were done
looking at dogs and then this guy pops up and it was the easiest to work with rescues. Some of
these rescues, I love what they do, of course, but they'll ask you a million questions. They
want to FaceTime your home tour. They want to know exactly what happened to your last dog how it happened
when it happened why it happened like crazy stuff yeah these guys were just like hey come meet us at
this house and they were like you know I think they wanted to meet us too like you know if we
were assholes they weren't going to give us a dog but like they want to feel people out but I think
like that's how you should do it it shouldn't be based on an application yeah but here we are so it wasn't like this guy was a competition he was there for like a month
they had no interest in him well that's the thing is we've always talked about is we don't really
want to get a dog that like a bunch of people are competing for like we wanted a dog that needed
somebody and we're talking like this apparently ross here was just like out on the streets
uh on the streets where you live, Ross talks about your social life.
And Ross was out there and he had a bunch of fleas.
To the point that he's still missing hair on his stomach because he had to bite all these fleas off of him.
And they had to get all the fleas.
So now you look at him.
Now you got a house, Ross.
You got a house.
Good boy.
Good boy.
Oh, he likes that bed now. Oh, that makes me happy.
Oh, he's a good boy. He's a good, sweet puppy. Good boy, Ross. Good job. But anyway,
so there you go. So there's Ross. He's a good boy. He's our new puppy. Somewhere in between
two and three years of age. We don't know what he is is they claimed he was a schnauzer and a poodle i don't think he's a poodle at all
but i think he's got some schnauzer border collies a good did you ask tans what his dog was they're
kind of similar yeah and i was also looking this up when i looked up a picture of him on my phone
they said some sort of wire haired something or another like german wire haired such and such let me see
let's see if it'll show it's not big enough to be a lab like the ears don't look like a lab
the ears don't look like a lab no but the white patches make me think like border collie for sure
so what i see the thing that pops up the most is german wire haired pointer
so i think there's probably that and some schnauzer in there and maybe some border collie.
But either way, he's a beautiful boy and he's our beautiful boy.
And we're glad that he's here and he's wonderful.
And there you go.
That's Ross.
All right.
More to come.
