like there are certain things that happen that you're supposed to be excited about based on how
what your job is right so yesterday this news broke about rush reuniting I guess they're
reuniting and I'm starting to get all these emails from people inside my company like guys huge
news this is a huge story rush is getting back together and touring and I'm like I don't care
like that's not something that interests me
like Rush isn't one of those bands that I feel like
I need to see I haven't seen them
I don't really care about them
but like the whole world's like oh my God it's rush
it's right let's get into this
after these words
what a run this champ
is picking up speed
but they found a lane
phenomenal launch into the air
absolutely incredible
Air Transit
Fly the seven time world's best leisure airline
champions Air Transat
Like, I'm fully aware I'm supposed to care about this, but, like, I don't have anything against the music of Rush.
There's, like, some good Rush songs, but this feels like something that's going to be, like, a very small tour.
There's only select cities they're playing, which means they're going to sell tickets for a billion dollars.
I don't know that it's, you know, a billion dollars worthy to go hear spirit of radio.
I, like, I don't care.
It's just one of those things.
Now, there are some acts that I do, like, I really want to see the Rolling Stones.
and I missed out on an opportunity to see the stones a couple years ago.
The one good thing that could have come out of my brief stint in St. Louis is I had an opportunity to see the Rolling Stones at a relatively small venue outside of Springfield, Missouri.
They had this beautiful new amphitheater that was built by the guy that has Bass Pro money, I believe.
And it's outside of, really outside of Branson.
And the Stones were playing a one-off show there on their Hackney Diamonds Tour.
And on our show, we gave away first row, second row, third row, fourth row, fifth row tickets.
And I had the opportunity to get tickets to go to the show.
But I ended up having to go to a wedding in Chicago instead, and I couldn't make it back for the show.
And I don't know if that's going to be the last opportunity to see the Stones or not.
But the Stones are one of those bands that I haven't seen that I feel like I need to see.
I have not seen Guns and Roses, but I'd like to see Guns and Roses.
I don't know that I need to see Guns and Roses.
I don't know if Guns and Roses fits into the legendary category.
Like the stones are all-time legendary and they still sound good and Mick is like 80-something
but still jumps around on stage and looks good and sounds good.
You know, like Mick is a different animal and so are the stones.
I don't know that you put Guns and Roses in there.
Now Guns and Roses can still fill up football stadiums and I'd go see them if given the opportunity.
But I don't look at Guns and Roses and say, oh my God, I've got to see Guns and Roses before I die.
because I just don't know that they currently sound good.
I know that the stones are legendary,
and I know that have given the opportunity,
I'd have to go.
So I hope the stones tour one more time.
If I would have been in Detroit when ACDC came to town a couple months ago,
I would have seen ACDC because I'd like to say I've seen ACDC.
Every video I've seen says that ACDC currently sucks
and they look old and all that.
Well, they are old.
So you go into it with that expectation that there are a bunch of old dudes
that have probably blown out their vocal cords and their eardrums
playing loud-ass rock for the last 60 years.
So you go into it with that expectation.
The Who, like I think The Who just wrapped up a tour.
I've never seen The Who.
I would like to.
Like, the Who would be a band that if they said,
hey, you have an opportunity to go see The Who?
Would you go see them?
And I'd say, sure.
But it's not something that I'd be like, oh, my God, I must do this before I die so I can say it.
And that's the same way I feel about Rush.
Like, you know that it's going to be an expensive show because it's not a stadium show.
It's an arena show.
And there's few dates.
Like there's multiple cities, like a handful of cities.
and you're going to get, I think, a couple of shows in each city, maybe.
And, you know, it's kind of a reunion type of deal.
So they're going to slap a big price tag on those tickets.
And I'm like, I don't care about it enough to do that.
Let's see what the actual dates are.
It's honoring Neil Pert.
Do we say Pirt or Pert?
That's what I've never known.
Like, I've heard people say Pirt and I've heard people say Pert.
It's right up there with Neil Sean and Neil Shone of Journey.
Is it Neil Sean or is it Neil Shone?
But you've got, see, L.A., so there's one, Mexico City, two, Fort Worth, three, Chicago, four, New York, five, Toronto, six, and Cleveland.
So it's a seven city, too.
Is it really even a tour of only seven cities and multiple shows in each city are getting it?
And Fort Worth dropping one in there, huh?
Not Dallas, Fort Worth at the Dickies Arena.
But, like, you wonder, and Mexico City.
So it's only six cities in America, seven cities.
cities overall that are going to get this rush tour i don't know like nothing against rush
they've got good tunes right spirit of radio is a good tom sawyer's i mean they're good rush
song i'm not against the idea of rush i'm not going to sit here and shit on rush's music i've
nothing against them i just have no desire it's like i i don't i don't desire that like if you're
like when i heard that i'm like oh but like my boss comes in he's like holy shit i got to put a post
off of rush is going on tour i'm like we don't even play rush who gives a shit we play rush we
play more Lincoln Park than Rush on our radio station? Why the fuck do we care about what Rush is
doing? But there are people that are into Rush. I would say, I'm trying to think of other
bands that, like, other than the Rolling Stones that I'd say, hey, if I had a chance to go see
them, I would. Like, I don't think I'd go see Bruce Springsteen. Like, if somebody gave me free tickets
and they're like, go see Bruce Springsteen, I'd be like, eh, I'll pass. And it has nothing to do
with politics or anything like that. I just, I don't think there's enough Bruce Springsteen. Like,
I'd have to see a Bruce Springsteen set list to know if there's enough Bruce Springsteen that I'd care to see.
Let's take a look at a Bruce Springsteen set list, all right?
And let's see if there's enough.
The guy's got a billion hits, but there's also a bunch of shit that I just wouldn't care about.
So let's see.
Bruce Springsteen in Italy, the Land of Hope and Dreams tour in June.
No surrender.
My love will not let you down.
Land of Hope and Dreams, Death to my hometown, Lonesome Day, Rainmaker, Atlantic City.
I don't know any of those songs
And maybe I should
And maybe that's bad
But I don't know like album cut Bruce Springsteen
Like I know hungry heart
And I know I'm on fire
And I know born in the USA
And I know
Dancing in the Dark
Like what I love is that the on course
For Bruce Springsteen are all the hits
Born in the USA
Born to Run Dancing in the Dark
10th Avenue Freeze Out
Twist and Shout
Like I know that show
shit. Like, I don't know long walk home or murder incorporated or Youngstown or my city of
ruins or the rising or wrecking ball. I don't know any of that shit. I know hits Bruce
Springsteen. That's what I know. Other than that, like, I don't know Bruce Springsteen enough
to fork over a ton of money or even take free tickets to see it just to say I did it. I don't
feel like investing three and a half, four hours in a 40 song set list to hear a bunch of shit
that I don't know.
Real talk.
Okay, this is stone cold, real fucking talk here.
The Little River Band is coming to this theater here in Detroit that's like a dinner
theater.
Like you eat a steak dinner and then watch a show from what I gather about this.
It's like, hey, have a steak dinner and watch the Little River Band.
I would rather go to that show than go see Bruce Springsteen, if given the option.
If they said you can sit front row and eat a Porterhouse steak and watch the Little River Band do
lonesome loser or you could watch 40 songs from Bruce Springsteen. I'm like, I think I'll take
the steak and lonesome loser. I don't care about Bruce Springsteen. I'm trying to think of other
iconic artists. I've seen Kiss a couple times and I've enjoyed it. I saw the chili peppers last
year if you want to call them an iconic artist and they put on a pretty good show. But there's not a ton
of those artists. When Poison gets back together, I think they're supposed to tour next year.
If Poison tours next year, sign me up to go see Poison. Although I've seen Brett Michaels three or four times
and he just does the music of poison.
So I know how much more of an enjoyment I'm going to get
because Ricky Rocket and C.C. DeVille are there.
But I'd go see that.
I've seen Motley Crew three times, I think.
And they're terrible, but I enjoy it every time.
I've seen Journey a handful of times.
I've seen Billy Joel.
You know who I'd like to see Elton John?
I can't because he's not touring anymore.
But I never saw Elton John.
And I had one legit opportunity.
I had tickets to see Elton John at the New Orleans around.
arena. 2004, maybe. I had tickets to see Elton John at the New Orleans Arena. And he canceled
the day of the show. And I've never come close to seeing Elton John again. I've seen Billy Joel
three times, I think three or four times, and Billy Joel is fantastic. And I'd like to see him
again. And I would like to see the tour with him and Stevie Knicks, just to say I saw Stevie
Knicks, but I'm not like in love with the idea of seeing Stevie Nix. But if the option was
the Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel or Sting in Billy Joel, I would take Stevie Nicks a thousand
times of a fucking sting who I have no interest in.
Like you too.
Like they played the sphere in Las Vegas and people are like, oh, see, you too.
No interest in you two.
I don't know enough.
Again, that's one of those bands where I don't know enough of you two's catalog.
Like, I know Joshua Tree and Beautiful Day.
You know, like that's all I know from you two.
I don't care enough about you two to go watch a whole show.
Like I saw Jimmy Buffett when he was alive and I enjoyed that, but that's a fun little
happening.
But I'm trying to think of I, I'll think of the Eagles.
I saw the Eagles twice with the whole band with Glenn Fry and all those guys, and that was lovely.
And I'd go see them again.
If tickets popped up today and they were playing a show in Detroit and they're like, hey, you want to go see the Eagles?
We got good seats for it.
I'd say, sure, I'll go see the fucking Eagles.
It's the music.
It's the tunes.
It's good tunes.
But there's not a ton of artists that I'm just dying to go see.
That I'm like, oh, my God, I have to see this person before I die or I can't live.
And Rush would fall into that category.
I'm like, okay.
Like, cool.
Rush is back together.
like jillie and i were texting about that she's like if i hear one more fucking thing about
rush and how big this is i'm like i'm with you i don't give me shit all right more to come
