Well, here's a shocker for you guys. There's drama in the WNBA that really has nothing to do with anything on the court because no one cares about anything that happens on the court in the WNBA.
Headline reads, WNBA investigating alleged hateful comments made toward Angel Reese during Fever and the Chicago Sky on Saturday in Indianapolis. The WNBA strongly condemns
racism, hate and discrimination in all forms. They have no
place in our league or society. We are aware of the allegations
and are looking into the matter. First off, that's hysterical
because the members of your league, the women who play in
your league by and large are people who dislike Kate Lohan
and her husband, and they, the women who play in your league
by and large are people who dislike Caitlin Clark because
Caitlin Clark is what? What? Therefore, I find it hard to
believe that you strongly condemn racism, hate, and
discrimination in all forms. You just hate it when it's directed
at a black person. Now, that said, that would not,
I'm not saying to support anything bad being said.
I have no idea what did or did not happen.
We have learned that a lot of times
things are taken as racist and then people run with them.
And then we find out after the fact that they were not true.
Do you recall a couple of years ago,
there was a story about a guy sitting behind home plate
at a Rockies game, right?
It's at a Rockies game.
And there was a claim that this guy was yelling the N word
during the game, like some guy,
I think a black player must've been at bat or something.
And it sounded like he was yelling the N word.
Then you listen to the audio and you're like,
it really doesn't sound like he's saying
the N-word, but it became this giant story and people needed to
find this guy and dox this guy and have him kicked out of the
country, thrown in jail. And then as it turns out, he was
just a guy yelling the word Dinger because the mascot name
of the Colorado Rockies is Dinger. So the guy was yelling
Dinger, Dinger! And then everybody falls back and they're
like, but to be fair, it kind of sounds like he's
saying that and you can see where it'd be a mistake. Yes,
it sounds like that if you're looking to be offended and you
are looking for people to be angry and worked up. If you just
use common sense or step back for a second and look at
something like, hey, I'm going to look at this logically, then
it isn't. It's like this. Well, first off, let me play a couple commercials and we'll
continue. It's like this, right? About two weeks ago, three weeks
ago, something like that, our dog Ross was in the backyard.
There is almost no way for Ross to get out of the backyard
without us seeing it. Like, if he really wanted to jump over
one of these chain link fences, I guess he could. But by and and large it's almost impossible for him to get out and he's not really shown
any desire to try to escape our backyard. So I was inside doing something and about
a minute later I went out into the backyard and I could not find Ross. I'm like Ross,
where are you? I look around one corner, he's not there. Another corner, he's not there.
Look behind the shed that's back there. He's not there. So then jelly comes out she's like oh my god where's
Ross and then I'm like I just let me look I'll be calm about
it. I'm not someone who is a psycho that automatically
thinks the worst not saying that jelly is a psycho but jelly
automatically assumes the worst all the time. She doesn't
really stop and think hey how could the dog have got out of
here she just convinces herself the dog has gotten out.
So I'm like, there's no way that he could have gotten out.
And if he did in the matter of this 30 seconds,
how far could he have gotten?
Where could he have been?
So I'm looking around and I can't find him.
She's inside.
I walk inside to look, I walk back out.
She's out there and she's like, oh my God, he's gone.
And she's on the verge of fucking tears.
And I'm like, just hold tight a second. So I'm walking around
and then I look like where there's like there's a kind of
a bush and like this overhang of like like a stump and then
there's a overhang of like leaves and branches I look in
and there he is. He has not escaped. I never lost my cool.
I'm like let me just see what happened here and it turns out
he's fine while Jilly is on the verge of tears. Some people
think irrationally and they think the worst automatically
and that's just their natural disposition and they don't mean anything by it.
Some people are just looking to be offended and they want to reach for something
so they can just be offended publicly and yell and scream at the mountaintop.
And some people think fourth dimensionally and just sit back and go,
let me think of the pros and cons of this.
In what universe would somebody yell the N-word at a
baseball game? In what universe with everything going on in
the world? I'm not saying someone couldn't. I'm saying
what makes you think? Like you've got to stop and think
that. Like if your brain, if your first thought is, yeah,
it's possible that someone yelled the N-word at a baseball
game, it's fucking stupid because it's like your life is over. If you yelled the N-word at a baseball game. It's fucking stupid because it's like your
life is over. If you're a white dude sitting at a baseball game
yelling the N-word multiple times, your life is over.
Somebody will hear you. Somebody will film you. You will go
public. You will never have a job again. So what is the
benefit? There is no benefit. Yet the whole world was like,
yep, there's a guy at the baseball game just yelling the
N-word. this is ridiculous.
And then it turns out he was yelling, dinger,
and everybody trying to have a gotcha moment,
and everybody trying to be offended over nothing.
Now they step back and they don't apologize to the guy,
they don't say oops are bad, they just disappear
and wait for the next thing to be offended over.
In regards to this, I have no idea what the situation is.
The league didn't specify what the allegations are, a have no idea what the situation is.
The league didn't specify what the allegations are, a person with knowledge of the situation
told the Indianapolis Star, but part of the USA Today network, it directed hateful comments
towards sky-forward Angel Rees.
The WNBA Players Association is aware of reports of hateful comments at yesterday's game in
Indianapolis and supports the WNBA's current investigation into the matter.
Such behavior is unacceptable in our sports, the players union
said in a statement. The rivalry between Reese and fever guard
Kaitlyn Clark has been going on since their college days and
it's been no different in the WNBA. Things got heated during
the game. Yes, they got heated because a common foul, a
typical basketball foul was committed by Caitlin Clark. Angel
Reese falls down and gets up and acts like she wants to fight.
And then Caitlin Clark gets a technical or like a flagrant
foul for this. And it's like, this is clown shit. Like the
WNBA can't get out of its own way. And it's actually kind of
funny because the WNBA has had multiple moments. The WNBA
has had opportunities for success. The WNBA has had more opportunities for growth. But
back to the initial paragraph of this story which was the WNBA does not support racism
or anything of any kind, yet you're totally okay with the petty jealousy and hate that
many of your players have for the white star of the league. And look, I don't like Caitlin Clark, so this isn't me saying, I watched the WNBA because of
Caitlin Clark. I don't watch shit. I have no interest in the WNBA. But the reality is WNBA,
this is your Michael Jordan. Whether you like it or not, Caitlin Clark is your Michael Jordan.
Caitlin Clark is your meal ticket. All you guys that sit there and bitch that you guys don't make
enough money and we're going to go bitch that you guys don't make enough
money and we're going to go on strike if we don't get paid
like demand and we want a percentage of this, this, this.
Great. The only reason you can even sit back and talk about
that is because Caitlin Clark hoops and the world knows who
she is. Now, to be fair, before Angel Reese talks shit to
Caitlin Clark, I will tell you this. I had no fucking clue
who Caitlin Clark was. And when I tell that you this, I had no fucking clue who Caitlin
Clark was. And when I tell that to people, they think I'm full of shit. They're like,
oh, of course you knew who Caitlin Clark was. I did not have a fucking clue. All I knew
is that Caitlin Clark played lady basketball and LSU was playing Iowa in the championship
game and I knew the players from LSU basketball because I root for LSU things. Like LSU baseball
is in the SEC tournament this week. I'm rooting for LSU because I root for LSU things. Like LSU baseball's in the SEC tournament this week, I'm rooting for LSU because I root for LSU.
And that's just kinda how it is, I support the school.
So I had no clue, not a clue who Caitlin Clark was,
until Angel Reese played against her in the championship,
and then Angel Reese talked shit,
and then it became a full-on divided race war,
which has elevated the status of the WNBA.
Whether you like it or not, the only reason the WNBA is a talking point, real talk, you
want a little real talk here, the only reason it is a talking point is because black girl
talks shit to white girl, Clay Travis gets on board with it and all the white guys are
angry and the Dave Portnoy's are angry about it and Dave Portnoy calls Angel Reese a piece of shit or whatever it was and then boom it catches
on and now people get they talk about it doesn't mean a bunch of people watch it doesn't mean
a bunch of people care but it's a talking point because of that it has nothing to do
with basketball skills for anybody it is basically like the WNBA is like an episode of Maury.
It is drama.
It is TMZ.
Nine out of ten people don't even give a shit about who wins
a game or anything.
They're just there for the drama.
So don't tell me that our league does not accept hateful
shit when the players in the league are so fucking jealous
of this Caitlin Clark and they're jealous on a racial basis
and they talk shit about this chick that look I'm
not even a fan of hers and I think Angel Reese has dealt with
some shit too but the fact that the person who's truly the face
of the league is allowed to be treated like dog shit by the
other people in the league when they should be kissing this
chick's ass because without her no one would care about what
you're doing and nobody would entertain your little we need
to be paid more type of arguments if not for her and you guys treat this chick like shit.
It's wild. So then in this game yesterday and I wasn't watching it but of course the highlight
of this became the big story on Twitter and everything else. So Caitlin, well here's where
the thing starts. So Angel Reese pushes off on one of Clark's teammates, pushes off under the basket to try to get a rebound.
Ref doesn't call it. Clark, seeing Angel Reese about to have a wide open layup, whacks her over the arm to prevent her from making the layup.
Typical basketball play, good solid hard foul. Well, Angel Reese, clumsy ass, falls down then gets up and looking like she wants to fight because she thinks she's like
Lady Dreymon. So she gets up and she's ready to start a fight
with people and then dude, homegirl just walks away.
Caitlin Clark doesn't take you seriously at all. She just
walks down to the other end of the court while you're yelling
at nothing. So then Caitlin Clark gets a flagrant foul and
it's a whole deal and it's like, this is pathetic. It is pathetic what is happening in the WNBA.
The people in the league refuse to accept that they're having a
moment and that moment exists because of Caitlin Clark,
whether they like her because she's white, whether they like
her because they think she's good, whether they like her
because the black shit, black chick talks shit to her and
that's what they whatever you're having this moment because of this person and you
can't handle it and you're going to step on your own fucking
lady dicks and you're going to fucking blow it you're gonna
step on your balls and you're going to blow it and that's
funny to me. It's funny that you're so caught up in jealousy
and you're so caught up in the internet culture and
you're so caught up in people yelling at each other on the
internet about race that you can't embrace the moment you're
having and say, you know what if we embrace this and Caitlin
Clark becomes an even bigger deal than more money comes into
our league. We all actually make more than 50 grand a year and
that'd be cool, but you can't do it. It's like like Mike Missanelli in Philly. If
Mike Missanelli would acknowledge that having me on
that radio station in Philadelphia would bring more
ears to the radio station, which means more money for
everybody. All ships rise with the tide. He'd probably have a
chance of survival, but instead guys like him sit back and
they're like, nope, can't put this guy on the radio. And then they just wallow in their own
nothingness. That's what these people are doing. They are going to kill their
opportunity because they hate this white person so much. It's absurd. It's nuts.
And I'm not saying that as I don't even like Caitlin Clark. I find Caitlin Clark
to be annoying. I find most women's basketball to be annoying. I don't care.
So this is not me going, I'm gonna stand for the white girl.
Don't give a shit.
And when this thing first happened,
I was all over defending Angel Reese
until I decided that she's pretty fraudulent
and full of shit.
But in that first game when she was talking shit to Clark
and the whole world that became black versus white,
I'm like, shut the fuck up,
Clay Travis and Dave Portnoy
and all you other fucking dipshits.
She talked some shit to your girl, you couldn't handle handle it and now a bunch of white dudes that listen to the
Rush Limbaugh show come out of nowhere and are ready to talk shit about this black girl
because that's the only thing that gets you going is black versus white shit and then
the internet was all black versus white and I was on the side of Angel Reese until she
started annoying me. Now I'm on nobody's side. But that's what happened in the opener. Have they posted the ratings for the WNBA yet? Let's
see. WNBA ratings. Let's see if that game got any numbers.
Let's see. No, that's just power ratings. There's nothing
dumber by the way than power ratings in professional sports
because they don't matter.. I'll see people posting USA
today as our team number six in the power ratings. Who gives a
**** You're in a league that's determined by the standings who
gives a **** with some slap **** and USA today thinks about
your team and where you are. People are dumb. Let's see all
eyes on Caitlin Clark on course the WNBA season tips off, but there's
no dad on that. Let's see. There's nothing about it. So whatever. I know that the NBA
made sure they played no games. They didn't schedule any games on that day. So the WNBA
could have it all to themselves on Saturday. The WNBA and this one thing Draymond Green
is 100% right about when he was on this show and it was like Lisa Leslie or someone and they were bitching about how no one tries
to help the WNBA and Draymond's like, ma'am, cut the shit. Without us, nobody supports
the WNBA literally more than the NBA and the NBA players, so please, pretty please, with
sugar on top, shut the fuck up. And that's what Draymond was saying and I'm like, good.
I'm glad that someone can try to keep people grounded in some
form of reality.
Like that doesn't suck.
Like Draymond does a lot of shit that I find annoying and
Draymond certainly a heel and you could argue that's a heel
move to even drop that on them in that setting because most
guys would be like, yeah, you're right.
We're terrible.
We need to do more to help you gals.
Like these chicks have nothing but a handout all the time and
Draymond basically goes all you have is a fucking handout. if not for us you wouldn't be playing basketball so like really you should be kissing our ass is essentially what Draymond was saying and I respected that.
People need to start being more honest about shit. We are a society of people who just try to pander to people and kowtow to people and say oh I'm so sorry. No, every now and then people need to be told the truth.
I wish people would tell me the truth more often.
I wish when I was doing this job in St. Louis, they would have said, this isn't going to
work and this isn't going to work.
Instead of me going into the office and being told that I'm the greatest fucking host ever,
only to be fired 15 months into it.
I'd like people to fucking tell me the truth and be totally honest.
I'd like people to tell me the truth instead of ignoring me when I apply for a job, but I don't get that. Not enough people are honest. I wish I could be
more honest to people. I wish I could be Larry David's character and curb your enthusiasm and
just be honest about shit. I wish we all could, but we're all scared shitless of our own shadow.
Then we take other people who say things that are total bullshit, but we're afraid to tell them it's
total bullshit, so then that becomes the truth. Every now and then you need to be told the truth and great on Draymond Green and that was last year
at some point that Draymond was like basically shut the fuck up. Without us you would be nothing. We
are your number one supporters. Without the league you wouldn't be making any money because your league
loses money. It's like when these chicks get on here and they're like, we want a larger percentage of the revenue. You don't have any revenue.
You don't make money.
But nobody tells them these things.
It's just cute.
Anyway, let's see.
We will continue in a moment.
