So there's talk of Travis Kelsey retiring because, I mean, the season's basically over and Travis Kelsey enjoys the attention of this discussion of whether or not he's going to retire because he is a member of the Kelsey family.
And there isn't a group of people that enjoy attention more than the Kelsey's.
That's just reality, friends.
You can tell me whatever the hell it is you want to tell me, nobody loves attention more than the Kelsey's.
I would like to see a whole study done on them, a class.
I want a class done on the Kelsey's.
Not a documentary.
I don't want to watch a fucking documentary about the Kelsey's because I don't find them to be interesting people.
What I want is I feel like they are a great example of what happens when, like, fame overtakes you and you aspire to be famous and you get involved in a famous world.
Like, I'd like to see a documentary.
No, not a documentary.
I want classes done.
Just like there are like Taylor Swift classes about how Taylor Swift basically turn the most basic white girl shit ever.
into the biggest brand in the universe and she's a billionaire.
I want studies and classes done at Ivy League schools about how fame turned the
Kelsey's into douchebacks, all of them, by the way, or were they always douchebags and
we're just waiting for it to come out and the fame helped bring that out.
I would love a class on that.
But Jason Kelsey, the generally shirtless douche of the family, is on the Monday Night Countdown
program and the pre and post game shows on ESPN, and he, of course, was asked about the possibility
of his brother retiring.
Let's hear this audio after these words.
All right, so let's hear what old Jason Kelsey is.
Again, nobody loves attention quite like the Kelsey's.
Nobody loves attention but likes to act as if they don't like attention like the Kelsey's.
So let's see what Jason Kelsey had to say about his brother potentially retiring.
Jason
Jason
I'm waiting to hear your exciting words
Jason
Why is this frozen Jason
Why is the carpet all wet Todd
Let's see
Now will it work?
Here we go maybe
possibly here we go
I understand he'll have a process to go through
Is there a sense of how he'll approach that?
I'm curious too
I think it's, you know, I think you have, in my opinion, to nail that decision.
You've got to step away from the game for a little bit.
Play these last three games, enjoy them with your teammates, enjoy them with your coaches.
You know, the team's going to be different no matter whether you come back or not next year.
So enjoy these last three games.
And then let it sink in.
Let it, let it, you know, it'll come to you with time.
I think you can't.
There's so many emotions with this game right after a season, especially with the way this one's been.
It's been so up and down.
I mean, they're one and seven and one score.
score games. They've been close, and for right now, it's just too fresh. You've got to step
away from it. You've got to think about it. And then, yeah, it'll come to you.
I'm very sorry, Marco. I just want to say this. It would feel extremely odd if somebody other
than Patrick Mahomes throws Travis Kelsey his last completion.
Well, it might just end up happening that way, partner, because if he's going to play in
these last three games, look, Kelsey's cooked. Like, just, and I've said,
this many times that when you watch him in the games, I think that the Taylor Swift world has
eaten him up. The guy doesn't seem to have joy when he plays. And maybe it's not just Taylor
Swift. I'm not trying to shit on Taylor Swift for this like as if to say like Taylor Swift has
ruined this guy. That's not my point. My point is that if you watch him play, there's been a lack
of joy. And there's also been a lack of joy in the Chiefs. I think what's happened is 10 years of
dominance and playoff appearances and Super Bowl wins and Super Bowl losses, then add on the
fact that you've got the girlfriend who's a superstar and your jet setting across the world
to see her.
And now you're dealing with, I say dealing with, you brought it on yourself.
So it is what it is.
But you've got the fan girls everywhere from the Taylor Swift universe and you've got the
podcast.
This guy seems fucking fried.
And he's not good at football anymore.
And the team sucks.
All of it kind of just piles on, I think, is what you're dealing with with Kelsey right now.
And look, they're an extremely dushy family.
I find them to be an extremely unlikable family.
And this has nothing to do with anything that happened with me when I was in Philadelphia.
Like, bygones, bygones, whatever.
I don't give a shit about all that stuff.
Life moves on.
It is what it is.
But they're just an unlikable group of people.
they are a very self-serving attention-driven attention whore oh you haven't talked about me in a while
my shirt's off at a bill's tailgate now or oh look my wife has a podcast and she talks shit as if she's a
talented human and doesn't have listeners just because of who my brother is fucking and then
you've got the brother who's caught up in drama all the time because he's part of the taylor
swift universe and he's not very good at football anymore and there's just there's all of these
things that have piled on.
And the other thing about Travis Kelsey,
and bless his fucking heart.
And I get that he's a huge celebrity for two reasons.
One, he plays for the Chiefs,
and he would have been a big celebrity in the football world
playing for the Chiefs if he had never fucked Taylor Swift.
He'd be a huge celebrity in that world because in the football
world, he's playing for what is the most dominant
team of the last 10 years.
So that makes sense. Okay, fine.
But now that he's become this huge celebrity
in the Taylor Swift world.
If he retires, it becomes a bigger story.
I'm fully aware that he's one of the most successful tight-ins to ever play the game.
But at the end of the day, you're a fucking tight-end.
You know, no one has, like, farewell going away parties for tight-ins.
Like, Tony Gonzalez was, like, the OG incredible fucking, you know, tight-end of the day, right?
I say OG, but, like, Tony Gonzalez was one of those guys.
It was like the 90s to mid-2000s big-time tight-in.
And Kellan Winslow Sr. was that before.
Like there have always been Jackie Smith.
There have always been big time tight-ins and everything.
And obviously the game is different.
You know, those guys didn't play for gigantic winning teams like this
and the media era that we're in.
So Travis Kelsey was obviously and is obviously a star and is a bigger star than any of those guys worse.
And the Taylor Swift part of it and the Chiefs part of it will make his retirement a bigger deal.
But big picture, the world will go on when Travis Kelsey isn't having 40-yard receiving days.
from Patrick Mahomes anymore.
This isn't, oh, Tom Brady just retired.
This isn't Peyton Manning just retired.
This isn't even like, oh shit, Randy Moss retired.
Like a tight end, a guy that puts up 40-something yards a game that is more famous for who he's
banging now than playing football.
Like, this isn't a huge deal if Travis Kelsey retires.
The problem is it's going to be made a huge deal because of the fact that he's with the
Chiefs, and because of the fact that he bangs Taylor Swift, it will be made a much larger deal than it is.
Like, Travis Kelsey has been an amazing player, but you could argue out of all the skill positions,
the tight end is the position that's going to get the least run for being an all-time great.
Like, if you're an all-time great running back, like, if you're Saquan Barclay and you have a
2,000-yard season and all the shit he did last year, when a running back hangs it up, it seems to be a
big deal.
A receiver hangs it up.
It seems to be a pretty big deal.
If Travis Kelsey were not banging Taylor Swift,
let's just say he was still hanging out with hot black chicks
and never got into the Taylor Swift universe.
If he retired, it'd be a deal and it'd be a story
because he plays for the Chiefs and they've won all these Super Bowls
and he's Mahomes partner in crime.
But it wouldn't be nearly what it is because of now this new fan base
he's built with this crappy podcast and being with Taylor Swift.
Right.
So, I don't know.
Like the fact that we're breaking this kind of shit down,
like, will Travis Kelsey retire?
like honestly who gives a fuck like if Patrick Mahomes retired that would be a ooh that's a big deal like right that would be more of that like oh shit Patrick Mahomes he's hung it up or or Peyton Manning hung it up or you know finally Aaron Rogers decided to hang it up or whatever that's a story that's a bad not to say that Mahomes and or that Kelsey isn't a story but it's not a big deal he's a fucking tied in and he hadn't been good for the last handful of years anyway who gives a shit but it's a story because of the fact that he bangs Taylor Swift
obviously. I'm telling you obvious shit, by the way.
This is not breaking news. This is not me unearthing something here.
This is just like, oh, obvious statement alert coming that, oh, like, clearly he's a big deal because of who he's fucking.
Because otherwise, he would just be a guy fading into obscurity, not obscurity, but, you know, declining and no one would give a shit.
I don't know. I just dislike them very much.
To me, they are unlikable people.
Look, and I don't think Taylor is unlikable, by the way.
I kind of like Taylor.
I admire the fact that she's taking very basic white girl shit,
like crappy music and flat asses and bad dancing
and has been able to fill up 10 football stadiums in a row or whatever.
She can go to Brazil and fill up a soccer stadium three fucking nights in a row.
She would do 10 nights in a row if she wanted to do.
And, like, I admire that.
Like, I think turning yourself into something when, like,
what you do is not that interesting.
But, like, I admire.
that. I commend that. Like, good job
Taylor. But
the Kelsey's, I just think, are uninteresting
people that possess very little
skill outside of playing football. They've
milked it with podcasts and everything else.
You take off your shirt. Oh, boy,
it's super cold outside.
Jason Kelsey took his shirt off.
He's so wacky. And then
there's Travis Kelsey like, oh,
boy, they have a podcast together.
Oh, here's his annoying fucking
wives podcast. Oh, boy, she's
talking some shit. Oh, boy.
like, here's the mom that looks like Bruce Valanche.
Oh, no, she's in the suite and she's got a cameo in this Hallmark movie.
And, like, they're the most annoying fucking people on the planet.
And they were annoying before Taylor Swift.
Like, again, I talk about Taylor all the time in this.
I'm not really annoyed by her.
She's just kind of, like, friendly fire in this.
Like, she's the target that people have.
And they're like, oh, my God, Taylor Swift's annoying.
She's fine.
She's whatever.
Like, I get why people, like, her being at a game is a big deal.
Like, I get it.
I find them to be the uninterested.
people. I find them to be the
chodes. I find them to be the ones that I'm like,
who gives a fuck about these guys? And who gives
a fuck if Travis Kelsey retires? You know what's
going to have if Travis Kelsey retires from the NFL
tomorrow, the world will keep spinning.
Tom Brady retiring is a big deal.
Peyton Manning retiring's a big deal.
Cool. Travis
Kelsey, who hadn't been good for three years anyway,
retires. Oh no.
More to come.
