Ah!
Woo!
Okay.
All right.
When a core's life is cold enough, the mountains on the can turn blue.
So the next time you want a cold lager, cold filter, cold package, Coors Light,
just wait until those glorious mountains on the can turn blue.
It's easy to say that fast when you're freezing cold.
Well, kiddos, we talked about WrestleMania yesterday and how bad I thought the final match was and everything like that.
I'm not going to get into a wrestling conversation with you today.
But the internet scuttlebutt here lately over the last day or so, day or two, has been about this roast that happened.
There was a roast of Wrestlemania
that was hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe and guys like Paul Heyman were involved in some other people
and this thing really has started gaining some steam because yesterday Heyman was on
Pat McAfee and was talking about how fluffy the comedian got really offended by some shit that
Paul Heyman said and the weird thing and this is the good by some shit that Paul Heyman said.
And the weird thing, and this is the good thing, I guess, about Paul Heyman,
the pretty brilliant thing about Paul Heyman,
is I have no clue whether or not he's being real or fake,
and he really blurs the line well.
Like, you would think when a guy's going to sit down to talk for 40 minutes
on Pat McAfee that he would just be himself,
because some of them do that some kind
of don't stay in character or whatever dude Paul Heyman's old school with it you watch that
interview with Pat McAfee and you're like this dude is straight up in character he's taking
shots at the audience telling people to go fuck themselves telling one guy he should be deported
like homeboy is just in.
It's great.
Like, he's talking about some time he's talking with McAfee about how McAfee hates Stephen A. Smith.
All this shit.
He's staying in character spectacularly.
So give him credit for that.
But apparently, now, I've seen short little videos.
Here's the thing that's interesting about this roast.
And actually a smart thing because it kind of builds mystique. The WWE did not film this. I'm sure they filmed it and I'm going to guess it's somewhere, but it was not televised. It wasn't broadcast anywhere.
So the only stuff you're getting to see of that roast is stuff that people film from their phones.
So the one that's kind of going around by some guy who's claiming to be really offended by it
is Paul Heyman talking about Fluffy and making like Mexican jokes and shit.
And that's the video that's kind of making its way around.
And now it's just got this aura around it where people really want to know what the fuck happened at this thing.
Which means if they do have it on film, it would behoove them to at some point put it out but here's the problem with putting roasts out especially
for an audience that's not really used to being roasted like wwe like the wrestlers like that
audience it's a weird audience for it if that gets out there and you put it out there and people
start hearing these jokes people take jokes that are inside the world of
roast and joke world and they make them real and then you end up with like tony hinchcliffe
at the republican national convention and shit and it becomes this huge thing because people
have no clue what a roast is apparently here's what most people in 2025 think a roast is hey
did we shit on trump okay good that was a funny roast did we talk about anything else
no I wasn't really that amused like that's what it is now because that's what comedy is to a lot
of people in 2025 is Trump shit that's not me defending Trump or giving a shit about Trump
that's me being someone who likes when everybody gets fucked with because the world is better that
way you want to like to me a great example of how you can fuck with everybody is the the opening
like the first couple of minutes of Richard Pryor live in concert it's the one where he's in not the
red suit that's live on the Sunset Strip but he's wearing like a red silk shirt he's like sweating
through this thing but he's wiry and walking around on stage and he's he walks up there and
he goes imagine the look on the white people's face when they walk in and saw the black folks took their seats so then like hey peckerhead
get out of like a white people fight there you know and like the whole bit is making fun of white
dudes being goofy but in the same time you don't feel like he's taking a side in the joke and saying
that like white people are pieces of shit and this and And you might say, well, Josh, you're a white guy and you're overly sensitive to this and blah, blah,
blah. No, I just think that you can make fun of everybody. Comedy should not be,
hey, let's talk about this one group of people because that's what we're allowed to do.
You're not pushing any barriers or boundaries when you do that. It's just lazy. Do something
else. Again, I'm not offended by it. I don't give a shit. I don't care.
Like, I'll make jokes about white people all the time.
But there was a time and place where in a different era, like you'd watch, you know why In Living Color was such a good show?
Is In Living Color would go out and like they're a largely black cast outside of Jim Carrey.
But they'd be making fun of Michael Jackson
or they'd make fun of Mike Tyson.
Like, oh wow, what a novel concept.
Black people making jokes about other black people
or Mexican people making jokes
about other Mexican people, right?
It isn't just, like some of the funniest shit
is when George Lopez starts going in
on his Mexican heritage.
It's fucking funny and you laugh at it.
But in the same breath, he'll make fun of white people in the same bit,
and it's great.
The issue that I have with most comedy now is that here's what comedy is.
Trump, right?
White people, right?
And that's it.
Do something better.
And then the worst part, though,
is now we've got an era of other side of this comedians that
goes so far to the outrageous level of it or they're not even so far they just like they try
so hard to be different than that then they're largely unfunny shit is considered like edgy
because like oh wow they're not doing the trump shit and it's not really funny anyway let me play
a couple commercials and we'll get back into this. All right, if you're ready to win some real cash during the basketball playoffs,

So, but yeah.
So when you look at that,
I feel like we give too many people credit
for just not being woke, quote unquote, comedians.
Like Joe Rogan. Iians like Joe Rogan I enjoy
the Joe Rogan podcast I did not find Joe Rogan stand up the one he did in the yellow shirt
to be that amusing I'm just saying that so I didn't laugh at that a ton I didn't find it to
be that funny real talk I don't find Chappelle to be that funny because I think Chappelle's going out
and he's bringing up certain topics just to do it so he can say he did it but the material isn't always funny to me I just think Chappelle gets
this gets way too much credit because he's willing to say things that other people won't but is the
shit funny and that's what I would question like Chris Rock did a great bit not too long ago it's
one that I've been doing forever not that he he ripped me off. Chris Rock ripped me off.
But it was talking about the difference between R. Kelly and Michael Jackson.
It's like, well, the difference is, hey, same crime, better music.
And that's funny.
But Chappelle is a great comedian, right?
But my problem is guys like Chappelle and Joe Rogan are elevated to this status because they're willing to go places other people won't, which is fine.
But the material's got to be good shit.
And I think here's what's happened.
You've got two sides of comedy.
And I swear this has something to do with the WrestleMania thing.
Mostly it has to do with the fact that I just don't like Tony Hinchcliffe.
I don't really like any of those guys.
But, like, you look at this the way comedy is.
You've got one side of things that are largely just kind of like a left-wing,
woke comedy type of deal.
Although there are funny people that I wouldn't classify in either category.
I think Sebastian Maniscalco is funny.
I can see why Sebastian Maniscalco puts in 15,000 people at an arena because Sebastian Maniscalco is funny. Like I can see why Sebastian Maniscalco puts in 15,000 people at an arena because
Sebastian Maniscalco is funny. And I don't come out of it feeling like he's got a political lean
one way or the other. I like, I find him to be funny. He's one of the, I think John Mulaney
is fucking funny. If you go and watch John Mulaney's first standup special after he got
out of rehab, I think it's called J Baby or Baby J.
It is so fucking good. It's just him telling stories about his drug addiction and shit.
So fucking good. And you should watch it. But then you watch some of these other guys who
are supposed to be funny and it's like, they're like kind of the edgier guys. And
like the Joe Rogan, the live one was supposed to light the
world on fire and i watched it and i wanted and honest to god i wanted to love it because i like
joe rogan and i hate the people that bitch about joe rogan constantly as if his podcast is you know
the the nightly news but i'm watching it and i'm just not laughing at it and i watch tony
hinchcliffe shit and i don't laugh at it and i watch burt kreischer and i don't laugh at it and I watch Tony Hinchcliffe shit and I don't laugh at it and I watch Bert Kreischer and
I don't laugh at it and who's the guy with the mustache that's friends with Charlemagne the God
I don't laugh at him either and like there's and I think there are times I laugh at Shane Gillis I
think he's fine but like they're this like brat pack of comedians that are all suckling off of Joe Rogan's teat.
They go on his podcast.
They become popular.
They headline arenas.
And a lot of them I just don't find interesting or amusing or funny.
Now, you say that, and it's like, well, because you're a left-wing woke liberal.
Like, no, I'm not.
I'm quite the opposite of that.
I just don't find it funny. And I'm not offended by edgy comedy. I'm quite the opposite of that. I just don't find it funny.
And I'm not offended by edgy comedy.
I was driving around the other day.
One of the days I was door dashing.
And I was listening to one of Sam Kinison's stand-ups.
I forgot if it was Have You Seen This Boy or Have You Seen Me Lately or whatever that one was.
Some of it is so fucking spectacular.
And it's aggressive and it's raunchy.
And it's so fucking good eddie murphy raw
eddie murphy delirious great shit george carlin had a lot of shit that was really good you know
and it's kind of you know dark or raunchy bill hicks had a bunch of great shit like they're
like i'm not against the concept of it but what i think has happened and it's kind of like the
like if you look there are videos that are and still shots of this roast and you look at the
deus up there and the people that are doing it it's like Tony Hinchcliffe and it's Pat McAfee
and it's these kind of douche bro guys and I have nothing against them I admire what what uh
Pat McAfee has been able to build we We've talked about that a lot. I admire
that this guy has been able to build this empire seemingly on his own. Credit to him.
But everything about that whole vibe of people is just so bro-douche. And I'm not asking people
to be overly smart with their humor. like again farts are funny so whatever
I just don't like them and I don't know if I'm on an island here like I look at Tony Hinchcliffe I
just don't like Tony Hinchcliffe for whatever reason not to say there haven't been funny
things on Kill Tony like Shane Gillis has done do and Shane Gillis does the Trump shit he does
he does a great Trump uh and I'm not saying he's totally unfunny or that any of these guys
are totally unfunny. What I'm saying is I just, I don't really get into it. So like the concept of
this roast, I'm like, first of all, did you need it? Is it like, if you're not going to air it,
what's the fucking point? Like, are you like like what was the point of doing a roast and putting all these people in this arena to roast these guys if the vast majority 99.9 percent
of your audience will never get to see it why what was the point and i'm sure at some point
they'll release it on peacock or something after they've gone in and edited a bunch of shit out to
keep people safe or whatever and by the way you should be able to say whatever the fuck you want to say in the room of a roast because it's comedy. That's the
point. I'm trying to think of guys that I even really find funny, guys that make me laugh,
like comedians. I really like Sebastian Maniscalco. I like Sebastian Maniscalco's show,
Bookie. Is it on Max? Is that where it is? And it's where he's a bookie, like a small-time bookie in LA. I find him funny. I've watched some of his stand-ups that are really good. I think his delivery is good. right there's the hardcore left wing you know like boring guys over here and then there's the
guys who will say whatever because we're not woke pc bullshit and in the name of trying to be unwoke
and un-pc they do a bunch of boring like just lame shit that i don't find funny maybe if i go back
and re-watch the joe rogan one maybe if i watch that again i'd laugh more but i was ready for it
i'm like this should be good and then it's just kind of like, eh, eh.
Like that was kind of my reaction to it.
It was a Larry David type of deal.
Like, eh, okay.
Like that's how I felt about watching that.
And then, but what's also funny, and this is where my inner hipster, I guess, comes out.
I used to really enjoy, who's the damn white girl from uh nikki
glazer the girl from st louis and i used to be obsessed with her because like she was smutty
and said filthy shit and i thought she was hot and then she did the tom brady roast and the whole
world's talking about how great she is and like i felt like how people must have felt when like
green day went big and I'm like
fuck this I don't like her but then it wasn't even that like people liking her made me like her less
it was the fact that she was then everywhere like based on the fact she made a couple of
gronk jokes at the Tom Brady roast now she was on every talk show hosting this award show and I'm
like I'm burned out on you now. I liked you. Like,
so I get it. I can get where somebody was really into Nickelback and then like how you remind me
came out and they were like, I'm burned out on this. I don't like it anymore. You know,
that's just how we are as people. I kind of get it now, but anyway, more to come.
