All right, I don't know about you, but I am pissed off.
I am pissed off at Democratic leadership.
I'm pissed off at Chuck Schumer for doing the most irresponsible thing.
I think you could have done in this fight.
We had the wind at our backs a week ago when we won in a sweeping victory.
And so what did Chuck Schumer decide to do?
Give up.
I don't understand it.
Chuck Schumer thinks we are in a different era.
Chuck Schumer is fighting a fight that doesn't exist anymore.
with weapons that no longer work.
And that is one reason why folks are calling for him to step down prominent Democrats
we're going to show you.
And people are very pissed off, as they should be.
Are you pissed off?
Let me know in the comments.
Now, move on.
One of the most progressive groups in the country has called out him to step down.
And Chuck Schumer actually came out with this video, and it made me really pissed off.
Democrats have been fighting to get the Senate to address the health care crisis.
This bill does nothing to ensure that that crisis is addressed.
I am voting no, and I will keep fighting.
Okay, I am confused by this video.
He's acting like he has no control over the situation.
He says that he is voting no on the bill and that it's not a good bill.
Need I remind you that he is the Senate minority leader.
He is the person in charge of the senators on the Democratic side.
Now, do you believe for a moment if Nancy Pelosi were in this position and she wanted an outcome
to be a certain way, she wouldn't do everything in her power to make sure that Democrats stayed in
line? Of course. Of course she would. Now, I believe that Chuck Schumer actually knows what
he's doing. I don't believe that those eight senators decided to just go rogue. This is all very
choreographed. Chuck Schumer organized this and allowed those eight senators. Senators, by the way,
many of whom are not up for re-election for a long time or retiring to take the heat on this to reopen
the government. You let everyone else vote against it. So to me, when I'm hearing any Democratic
senator saying, I voted no, I didn't want to go this way. Where was the fight? Where was the
fight trying to call on the other senators to not vote yes?
Where was the fight? I didn't see it. In fact, I heard behind the scenes that there were folks who were
choreographing this like Chuck Schumer. Now, interestingly, Trump said that he's going to abide by the deal.
The deal is very good. Do you think Donald Trump? Do you think we should be signing on to a deal that
Donald Trump calls very good? I don't. I think we should be creating a deal that politically hurts him
or something he doesn't want to do. I guess that's not happening. But interestingly,
Mark Telly is not endorsing Chuck Schumer.
Do you support Chuck Schumer to lead Senate Democrats going forward?
So Chris, again, we found ourselves in a situation.
I don't think the Senate has found itself in before.
I think under any president, Democrat or Republican, they're going to care about the
American people health care and care if they're going to be able to.
Doesn't answer.
I'm not going to blow it.
Doesn't answer.
Doesn't say, of course, I'm supporting Leader Schumer during this moment because he is the best
person.
He doesn't say anything like that.
He just ignores a question.
You don't think Mark Kelly, an astronaut, is capable of answering yes or no?
Now, Rokana has actually come out guns blazing saying this.
Trying to make some deal.
And we basically say, well, we don't care if the premen's go up.
Like, what do we stand for?
So he needs to be replaced and step down.
More Democrats need to be calling for that.
the only reason they aren't calling for it. Let me be blunt is because you offend a lot of donors.
There are a lot of billionaires. There are a lot of donors that contribute to the DSCC and that
contribute to Chuck Schumer. But, you know, we've got to make a choice of this party. Are we going to
be beholden to the donors that have gotten us two terms of Donald Trump? Are we going to listen
to people? I hope they listen to the people. I think we actually are in our tea party moment right
now because I don't think the Democrats in the Senate aren't as close to everything as the ones in the
House. They ask to get reelected every six years and they also just don't feel as beholden to you
and me as members of the House do because first off, we vote on whether or not they should stay
in office every two years and also because they have the ability to filibuster or do these like
charade votes like they do so that they never actually have to make hard decisions. And
That's why we have folks like Senator Shaheen who says things like this.
And I introduced a bill to extend the premium tax credits.
That's my legislation.
I did that in the very beginning.
It introduced the two extensions.
That was my first legislation this year.
And I intend to continue to fight for that.
And hopefully the Republicans may hear us.
Hopefully.
I want to say the B word, but I'm not going to say it to a woman.
I say it often, but I don't want to say it.
I don't want to say it directly to her.
I would like to say it just as an exclamation point.
But I do kind of wonder how you're going to get them to hear you when you don't follow through with your threats.
You showed up with a limp wrist and you're trying to fight with what?
You got nothing now.
You gave it up.
Hopefully they hear us.
Yeah, they heard you.
You don't mean what you say.
And you don't say what you mean.
Now, I'm not going to play this, but Hakeem Jeffries has defended Chuck Schumer saying he waged a valiant fight on behalf of the American people.
Okay, thanks Hakeem Jeffries.
Now, an establishment Democrat also has said this about Chuck Schumer.
And it's not great for him.
Yes, Chuck Schumer should go.
I'm sorry to say Chuck Schumer should go.
I voted for many times.
I am ideologically quite aligned with where he is as a senator, but he's no longer capable
of running this caucus.
He's no longer capable of leading the Democratic Party.
I am a lifelong.
I mean, I am an establishment Democrat.
And I'm here to say that Bernie Sanders is much more in line with where I, many
other Democrats are today than Chuck Schumer is. And, you know, if you would have asked me that
five years ago, I would have laughed at you. So that's just to underscore exactly how furious,
how furious Democrats are today for putting the country through this.
Seriously, we put the country through so much and we got nothing out of it. Do you not think
people would have been willing to suffer if it meant getting a win? I'm just thinking,
like, imagine as Martin Luther King Jr. during the bus boycott,
said, oh, we have to give up.
People are not able to get to work on time.
No, they organized.
They organized.
They didn't say, oh, well, the bus owners are making it really hard for us.
And there's really just not much we can do.
No.
They boycotted and they organized.
And through community, they won.
Why didn't the Democrats try to organize?
Why didn't they try to rally their voters and their base to try to make it so that
yes, things are going to be hard. Things are going to be challenging. But this is more important
than the small amount of pain that we experience today when we can fight for the future. What they're
doing is relieving a little bit of pressure in order for the promise of future pain. It makes no sense
to me. It makes no sense. Someone said it like this. If I were in the Senate, I wouldn't vote for the
compromise. Shutdowns are an opportunity to make an argument. And the country was just starting to
pay attention. Imagine if they couldn't get to their homes.
Thanksgiving and they would have realized one it's because of Trump and two it was
because Democrats were fighting to make sure that their premiums didn't go up sounds
good to me if Trump won and this person actually goes on to say Trump wanted
to cancel flights over Thanksgiving rather than keep health care costs
downs I don't see why Democrats should save him from making his priorities so
exquisitely clear and I worry that Democrats have just taught Trump that they will
fold under pressure that's the kind of lesson he remembers absolutely
And that is why he thinks this is a great deal.
Other people are, actually, is reporting that people are pissed.
There's near universal frustration, of course.
Yeah, are you pissed?
I'm pissed.
We got a primary, Chuck Schumer.
We got a primary.
My guess is he's not going to run again.
That is my guess.
He doesn't even have the courage to fight for the seat that he has right now,
knowing that people are mad at him.
He's just going to, he's just going to limp away.
He's going to limp away.
I hope so.
I hope you stay.
I would love to beat you in a primary.
Regardless,
things can't continue like this.
They can't continue like this.
We need Democrats who fight ideologically.
The only thing I care about mainly right now
as we're staring down fascism
is Democrats who will fight.
We can worry about tax policy
and what you want to spend the...
We can worry about that,
like how we're going to get universal health.
All that stuff.
I look forward to arguing about that sort of thing.
We don't have the luxury.
We just need fighters right now.
And fighters are few and far between in the Democratic caucus.
And that has to change.
That has to change.
And it should and it will in the midterms.
And I look forward to the fight.
I hope you join me.
And I'll see you soon.
Bye.
