Starting point is 00:00:00 Donald Trump is having a big boy announcement tonight at 9 o'clock, and everyone's wondering, what the hell is Donald Trump going to announce? Donald Trump loves to keep people on edge. Is he going to send more troops into Iran? Is he going to pull out? Donald Trump's never really been one to pulling out. Is he going to announce some sort of offensive? We don't know.
Starting point is 00:00:23 But I will say this. I think his own team members have been giving us hints onto what this could be. Here's Marco Rubio saying something that kind of went undetected yesterday. You let me know if you can get a sense of what this might be. Let me ask you about NATO. You said that our NATO allies have been disappointing specifically. I know you're talking about Spain, Great Britain, France, even Italy now. And that after all of this is done, we will reexamine this relationship.
Starting point is 00:00:57 And especially when it comes to, we pay two-thirds of the freight. to NATO defense. And if it's just, quote, about us defending Europe, you said, you know, at this point, how do we call that and we can't have our landing rights in European nations, our allies at a time when we need them, what good is that alliance? And is the NATO alliance at risk? Sean, I've been one of the strongest defenders of NATO during my time as a United States senator because I found great value in it. And it wasn't just about defending Europe. I said it also allowed us to have military bases in Europe that allowed us to project power into different
Starting point is 00:01:35 parts of the world when our national security was threatened. If now we have reached a point where the NATO alliance means that we can't use those bases, that in fact that we can no longer use those bases to defend America's interests, the NATO is a one-way street. The NATO is simply about us having troops in Europe to defend Europe, but when we need their help, not their help, we're not asking them to conduct airstrikes. When we need them to allow us to use their military bases, answer is no, then why are we in NATO? You have to ask that question, why do we have billions and billions of dollars, hundreds of billions of dollars over the years, trillions of dollars, and all these American forces stationed in the region, if we can only use, we can, in our time of
Starting point is 00:02:15 need, we're not going to be allowed to use those bases. So I think there's no doubt, unfortunately, after this conflict is concluded, we are going to have to re-examine that relationship. We're going to have to re-examine the value of NATO and that alliance for our country. ultimately that's a decision for the president to make and he'll have to make it. We're going to finish the job here. As I said, we're very, very close to achieving our objectives on all of these things that I've outlined. We're going to keep going about what objectives. What are the objectives?
Starting point is 00:02:42 But I do think, unfortunately, we are going to have to reexamine whether or not this alliance that has served this country well for a while is still serving that purpose, or is it now become a one-way street where America is simply in a position to defend Europe, but when we need the help of our allies, they're going to deny us basing rights and they're going to deny us overflight. I think these are very legitimate questions that we need to be asking, and this are going to have to be very carefully examined after this conflict is over. All right. I'll tell you one thing. When Putin hears that, he is loving it. He also is loving this. Here is another Trump goon on NATO. At the moment from President Trump, and I'll pull up a quote that he said earlier in an interview with the telegraph.
Starting point is 00:03:25 He said, oh, yes, I would say it's beyond reconsideration. That's the U.S. potentially pulling out of NATO. I was never swayed by NATO. I always knew they were a paper tiger, and Putin knows that too, by the way. What are your thoughts, first of all, on how NATO has been there alongside the U.S. and this, and what the future relationship might be? Yeah, well, first of all, nobody has made NATO stronger than President Trump. But what he accomplished at the Hague last year by getting all allies to agree to 5% on defense.
Starting point is 00:03:55 spending. I mean, that was a major strengthening of NATO, but our allies, again, have to demonstrate, not through words. We've seen a lot of strongly worded statements. Some in favor of the United States efforts in Iran, some quite frankly opposed. But it's been the actions. It's been this basing and overflight that we've seen. And we've also seen several allies that are just unwilling to say that they're on the side of the United States and want to be a part of the solution. So I think what right now, President Trump's looking for is actions, and he's looking for a NATO that is there for the United States, that it's not, as Marco Rubio said, pretty clearly, it's not a one-way street. It's got to be a two-way street. It's got to not only protect Europe and provide for the security of Europe, but also there needs to be some benefit and some advantage for the United States being. Otherwise, you know, we're just the suckers that are guaranteeing the security of Europe without any reciprocity. This is an FYI. U.S. law section 1250A of the FY2024 NDAA prohibits the president from unilaterally withdrawing from NATO without two-thirds Senate approval or an act of Congress.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Rubio co-sponsored this law, so they can complain all they want about NATO, but baby, we are in it without, unless, of course, Congress takes some action. Now, I will say, I'm not, I don't particularly. tend to know what Donald Trump is going to do tonight, I would not be surprised if he said that he wants to pull out of NATO. That would be my guess is this is about NATO. And I do think he very well could be sending us ground troops into Iran. So I think it's a little bit of both. I think he's going to say NATO hasn't been our ally and I'm going to sign an executive order to pull us out, which obviously he can't do. But he did a sign. He signed an executive order to ban
Starting point is 00:05:55 birthright citizenship that's in the Constitution. It's just beyond parity. Like, executive orders don't trump the Constitution. So anyways, he can do the same thing here, and then it's going to have to go through. I don't understand why it has to go through a legal framework. It has to go, like, through a legal process when he just writes his little pieces of pages, his little decrees. Like, it shouldn't matter. Regardless, that's what I think he's going to do. And on Polly Market, the same account that bet correctly that we are, that we were going to invade Iran has also now just placed a very large buy on us sending ground troops. So it seems to be there's a lot of smoke.
Starting point is 00:06:53 There seems to be a lot of smoke in that direction. Donald Trump, for his part, is focusing on the important things, and here's what he had to say about NATO. We've had some very bad allies in NATO. I hope you're all watching that, Scott, because we had some asks. Wow, he sounds like he is dying. And, you know, we spend trillions of dollars on NATO,
Starting point is 00:07:21 and when we need him, which we never do, We didn't need them here either. To be honest, I was really asking, because I wanted to see what they do, we didn't need them. We were blasting the hell out of him out of Iran. The last thing I needed was NATO stepping in our way because they're not, they're a paper tiger. So, yeah, I mean, I think what I'll be walking out for tonight
Starting point is 00:07:46 is, is this man going to be able to speak in coherent sentences? Is it truly live? Is it going to be truly live? I want to put it past him to pre-record this thing and to have edits in it because I don't think he can speak coherently long enough for an address to the nation. We will see. We will see. But I think we all know one thing. What he announces tonight is not going to be good. It's not going to be good for us. It's not going to be good for the country. It's not going to be good for the world. It's probably going to be good for the person who's been making money off of our suffering on
Starting point is 00:08:24 through insider information. And I also think it'll be good for anyone else who is invested in Donald Trump's businesses. But otherwise, not going to be great for us. But we will be watching it. I'll bring you whatever is useful and necessary when the time comes. And until then, I'll see you.
