This is a story I've been following and I think it's relevant now because Donald Trump and Cashertel have responded to it.
And if you don't know, it's a very sad story.
It's one that honestly feels like something out of a movie.
Savannah Guthrie, who is a today's show anchor.
It has done everything from political debates to being a White House correspondent.
Her mother was, it appears to be kidnapped from her home.
Nancy, Savannah's mom was seen late Saturday night and a family member reported her missing Sunday morning when cops arrived.
Getter Tuscan Arizona home. They say they observe concerning signs at the scene. That's to put it lightly
because here you can see there's a trail of blood. There's also other images of the house being
broken into. And since this reporting came out, like I said, it's out of a movie. And TMZ was
actually given a ransom note. And apparently the ransom note had some information in it that only
someone who abducted Savannah's mom would have known. So the police are taking it seriously. And that
led to last night where there's this really, really heart-wrenching message from Savannah and her
siblings to the person who may have potentially kidnapped and keeping her mom hostage. And here's that.
On behalf of our family, we want to thank all of you for the prayers for our beloved mom, Nancy.
We feel them and we continue to believe that she feels them too.
Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light.
She is funny, spunky, and clever.
She has grandchildren that adore her and crowd around her and cover her with kisses.
She loves fun and adventure.
She is a devoted friend.
She is full of kindness and knowledge.
Talk to her and you'll see.
The light is missing from our lives.
Nancy is our mother.
We are her children.
She is our beacon.
She holds fast to joy in all of life's circumstances.
She chooses joy day after day.
Despite having already passed through great trials of pain and grief,
we are always going to be merely human, just normal human people who need our mom.
Mama, if you're listening, we need you to come home.
We miss you.
Our mom is our heart and our home.
She is 84 years old.
Her health, her heart is fragile.
She lives in constant pain.
She is without any medicine.
She needs it to survive.
She needs it not to suffer.
We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter
in the media.
As a family, we are doing everything that we can.
We are ready to talk.
However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated.
We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her.
We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen.
Please reach out to us.
Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman.
Very, very sad, very hard to watch.
And like I said, it feels like something out of a movie yet.
It's very surreal.
The video itself has more than 10 million views on Instagram, and it's been seen millions and millions of times reposted other places.
And apparently what happened is that the person who abducted Savannah Guthrie's mom may very well have seen it because TMZ just moments ago got another alleged ransom known.
Here's that.
So Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have reached out based on a ransom note.
Now, we received an alleged ransom note that we forwarded on to the authorities, to the Sheriff's Department.
The FBI called us a few hours later, wanted to have a bunch of questions about that note.
And there were a lot of things that we discussed with them, that we made an agreement with them that we would not.
disclosed just for sake of the investigation.
Right.
Now, this alleged ransom note that we received, there's a lot of detail in it,
and we're not going to be specific about that.
We will say this, that when you look at the plea that Savannah Guthrie made yesterday
saying we're ready to talk, there are deadlines.
I say plural deadlines in this letter, and one is looming.
Right.
If this is indeed a legit letter.
And whether it's this letter or one of the other ones that was sent out.
And the other ones may be the same as ours.
We may be the same.
We just don't know.
But it seems pretty clear that the FBI and the authorities are taking something serious from the abductors.
Now, as far as...
Because that's why the family would sit down and make that.
that video yesterday.
And as far as the letter we received,
they mention two items in this letter,
and I think they're trying to show we're for real.
Now, again, we are saying this is an alleged ransom note.
We don't know, these are actually people
who have Savannah's mother, we don't know.
But they mentioned two items,
and they describe certain characteristics
And those characteristics, and in one case, the item itself, has not been in public.
And our information is that is correct.
The two items that are mentioned are correct.
And so...
So that part, certainly to the authorities would say these people are serious, and they actually do have Nancy.
So the final thing about the letter, and again, we're not going to get into all...
Again, I just can't... I just can't get over.
I just can't get over this.
We're going to finish this bit, and then we do have Cash Patel and Donald Trump's statements about this, which aren't very helpful.
When the family is reaching out to say we're ready to talk, this letter suggests no talk.
Right.
That was made clear right at the beginning.
Yeah.
And so I think that the family is sitting down and speaking that way, they are trying to change the minds of the abductors.
and hoping that they actually will, one, provide that proof of life.
But also, clearly, there was an attempt to humanize not just Nancy, but also themselves,
to say, look, we desperately want our mother back.
So whether or not that works.
And one of the reasons that this alleged ransom note gives me pause is that we didn't receive an
until three days after the abduction.
That is odd to wait three days if indeed they have kidnapped
a woman who is ill.
Elginly woman who needs medications.
Has a pacemaker.
And if she doesn't have those medications,
why would you wait three days?
And again, I'm not saying we don't know whether it's legitimate,
but that does seem odd that you would,
why wouldn't it have come a couple of days earlier?
Right.
And, you know, it's interesting that depending on where, you know, if this were true, that they do have her.
And she doesn't have her medication and they need to show proof of life.
That's a good point.
We also have more reporting on this that there is a suspect involved.
Now, the cops have denied this.
Before we did do that, Donald Trump did say this.
He said, I spoke with Savannah Guthrie and let her know that I am.
directing all federal law enforcement to be at the families and local law enforcement's complete
disposal immediately we are deploying all resources to get our family home safely i mean does that
i don't know about you that doesn't bring me great comfort if i'm savannah guthr you're going to have
cash petel who said this well we just heard that report out of arizona about nancy guthrie
you all are involved in that case is that correct yeah with any missing persons what you want to do
is what the sheriff said find them all right and then we'll under this so cops the cops have
denied this, but Ashley Banfield, who has sourcing, she says, and law enforcement have said
that they are looking at this suspect.
One law enforcement source, very connected, highly regarded, impeccable credentials, knowledge of
this investigation, says that Thomas O. Cioni, Annie P. Guthrie's husband, maybe the prime
suspect in this case, and Annie's vehicle has been towed, impounded, and is now in evidence.
At the very least, let me tamp that down.
Because sometimes it's the first person you're looking at, not prime as in there's no one else.
Okay, so let's be really mindful of that.
Families are always looked at first as well.
I can tell you that Mrs. Guthrie had cameras plural at this home and that they were smashed.
But I can tell you they are nest cameras.
They are nest cameras plural and that whoever did this may have smashed
those cameras plural. So they're not there, presumably, because law enforcement took those smashed
cameras as evidence. Yeah, and presumably someone would know those cameras exist if they know
the mom. So, I mean, this is a very sad. I think it's a very compelling story and one that I
want to follow. So if you do want to follow with me, hit like, subscribe, and I'll see you as soon as we
get more information.
