Christy Noem is currently getting her ass spanked in Congress not in the fun way.
And Mike Johnson can't answer simple questions about what is a war that is beginning in the Middle East that we have waged.
And I want to go to this moment here because I was traveling when this happened.
But I still want to watch it.
I want to watch it with you because I don't know what happened.
Well, I actually know what happened.
Tom Tillis isn't running for reelection.
So he's actually able to do one thing that most Republicans can't do, which is be honest.
And here he is.
Chris, you know I'm getting her ass spanked to the house.
She got it spanked last night, and it's still read probably,
because here is what Tom Tillis did in front of everyone.
Those people, and I wanted to detain fewer of the others.
And Mr. Pres or Mr. Chair, in my remaining time, I have a lot to go.
But I want to submit this letter from the Office of the Expector General
that cites 10 different instances under Ms. Nome's leadership
where they've been misled and not allowed to pursue investigations that they think are critically important.
Does anybody have any idea how bad it has to be for the OIG in this agency to come out and do this publicly?
That is stonewalling.
That's a failure of leadership.
And that is why I've called for your resignation.
And if I don't get an answer to these questions, I don't want an applause.
Please don't do that for me.
If I don't get an answer to these questions, if I don't get an answer that you've had a month to respond to,
and the remaining ones, as of today, I'll be informing leadership that I'm putting a hold on
any on-block nominations until I get a response. And in two weeks, if I don't get a response,
I'm going to deny quorum and markup in as many committees as I can until I get a response.
Thank you, Mr. Chair. I mean, hooray. Hooray, I'm glad that Republicans, at least one Republican
found his spine. But again, the only reason why he's acting that way is because he's not
running for re-election. And it's really sad that we can't just get that all of the time. And I don't
I truly don't understand it because if every Republican actually stood up to this insane administration,
then none of them would be in danger.
But because they just are all terrified of their own shadow,
they're terrified of Donald Trump, who is literally decomposing in front of us,
they're unable to actually say the thing that we all know is true,
which is that this is a corrupt illegal administration doing things that are not benefiting
the American people.
And so I'm grateful Tom Tillis found his spine, but it's so disheartening that they only find it when they have nothing else to lose.
And again, they could act like this all the time.
If every single one of them actually stood up to Trump, when appropriate, he wouldn't be able to primary all of them.
I don't know.
Anyway, and then we have this woman here giving her a weekly Karen outburst.
Our service members, law enforcement officers, are doing their duty.
They're protecting freedom, and they are protecting American citizens.
It's time for Democrats to do their duty.
This is no moment for partisan games.
This is a moment for patriotism.
Reopen DHS.
I mean, it's not a moment for patriotism.
I'm not, I don't, I think most people want the best for this country.
We want the best for the world, and we want the best for the people.
people who live here. But I don't think we should give blind patriotism just like I don't think we
should vote blindly for every single Democrat. You got to earn patriotism. And I think what we're doing
right now in the Middle East is completely unpatriotic. And I do think that most, I actually don't
even think I know most Americans do not agree with this war. This is like a 80-20 issue. 80% of the
country doesn't want to do this. And so yeah, the troops don't get to decide whether or not they're
there, but Congress does. We do, and we don't want them there. We don't want to be involved in
this stuff. So stop trying to smash us over the head with patriotism and trying to like
shut up dissent as if like we don't want the best for our country. What if like the best thing
for our country is to not spend billions of dollars to kill people? Instead of what if we
spend that money to invest in our communities? What if we spend that money for like, I don't know,
healthcare? I would like some government funded health care. That would be nice. Instead of
of bombs going off in countries most of us will never visit. It's insane. And then when Mike Johnson
was asked about the war powers resolution, he said this. And I've got some questions about the
war powers resolution. History will record. We did the right thing. I think passage of a war
powers resolution right now would be a terrible, dangerous idea for all the reasons I've
just explained. It would empower our enemies. It would kneecap our own forces. And it would take
the ability of the U.S. military and the commander chief away from completely.
pleading this critical mission to keep everybody safe.
I'm going to look this up in the meantime.
War power, I've been wondering about this.
War Powers Resolution.
What is it?
It's a federal law enacted to check the U.S.
President's power to commit the United States to armed conflict
to all the consent of Congress.
It was passed by the 93rd Congress in response to Vietnam War
and the secret bombing Cambodia overriding a veto by President Richard Nixon.
Okay, so it says that the president must consult with Congress
in every possible instance before introducing U.S. armed forces.
into hostilities. It says the president must notify comments with 48 hours of pulling forces
into hostilities or situations where hostilities are imminent. So we absolutely should be passing
war powers resolution if we want the American people to actually have a say on whether or not we have
a conflict in the Middle East. And to say that it's a dangerous, terrible idea is completely
untrue. It is a terrible, terrible dangerous idea to have one person decide whether or not we
have literal troops on the streets in the Middle East. That's something that our representatives
should decide. It sounds like most of them, I don't know if they're for or against it, but we should
know. I want them on the record. And if that's something that Congress wants to do, then let us know,
Congress. I think, one, the responsibility of this does not lay in the president's hands. It lays
in the power of our representatives. It is their responsibility. And to give that responsibility to Trump
also kind of helps them have to say that their hands are totally clean from this. And I want to have a
record of every single Republican and Democrat who decides to send us to war. That's how I feel about this.
We actually got a sense of this already because Schumer came out and so did Senator Chris Coons
signaling that they would support a supplemental funding for Trump's criminal war in Iran. Democratic votes
will be needed to pass any emergency funding package to the Senate. And minority party leaders
say they will need far more details from Trump administration or they're going to consider support
for new Pentagon money.
Quote, before you can feel satisfied about a supplemental and I haven't seen it, you have to know
what the goals are and what the end game is, Chuck Schumer said.
Chris Kuhn said that he expects the Pentagon will send Congress a supplemental fund request
and vow to, quote, make sure we are making all investments we can't.
What are we doing here, Democrats?
Why?
We don't want another fucking war.
Sorry to swear. We don't want to spend money. We don't want to spend, we don't want to sacrifice lives for what?
For another regime change in a country that we do not want to run or control and that most Americans don't even want to focus on.
Is it absolutely like how out of sync do establishment Democrats have to be in order for them to wake up?
I mean, I'm just like primary them all. Primary them all. I don't, I truly don't understand.
I understand. All right, let's go to this. This is like a pellet cleanser.
Because even though we might not have accountability in the executive branch, at least someone's
getting her ass made. Look at her. She is not enjoying it.
Based on what you know today, Madam Secretary, were Renee Good and Alex Pready domestic terrorists?
Congressman, what happened in Minnesota in those two incidents was an absolute tragedy.
Were they domestic terrorists, as you said,
Oh, girl, her tune has changed.
To the country.
My condolences to their families because I know that their lives will never be the same after that happened.
Is that an apology for what you said?
We, in those instances, offer as much information as we can from officers and agents on the ground in a chaotic scene that gets...
I'll repeat my question, reclaiming my time.
Based on what you know today, Madam Secretary, based on what you know today, were Renee Good and Alex Pready domestic,
terrorists. As you know, there's ongoing investigations that are being led by the FBI. Oh, but you didn't
wait for the investigation, did you? You didn't wait for the evidence. You proclaimed that they were
domestic terrorists at the time. Why did you do that? And you didn't wait to attack our law enforcement.
Why did you do that? Going into a dangerous situation. Why did you call them domestic terrorists?
Is our ICE officers and our HSI officers that day risked their lives to protect that scene? So evidence
could be reclaimed. So it could be used in the investigation because those violent rioters that were
So you're proud of the fact that you called them domestic terrorists?
Is that what you're telling America?
HSI officers put their lives on the line to protect that scene so evidence that we could have.
Yes, they do.
Yes, they do.
But you told a lie about them.
You said that they were domestic terrorists.
Do you regret that?
I offer my condolences to those families.
Based on what you know today, were Renee Good and Alex Breddy domestic terrorists?
There's ongoing investigations.
So you still don't know.
You think that's an open question?
I would think you would want there to still be investigations going into these situations.
You stated the conclusion two hours after they were...
Ooh, she's slippery.
...killed that they were domestic terrorists.
I wanted to give you an opportunity to correct the record,
not just for their family, but for everybody in America who believes in the truth and fairness and honesty.
In every situation, as facts come out, we relay...
You know, your acting ICE director, Todd Lyons, came before Congress.
He said he had no knowledge whatsoever that Alex Prattie and really good were domestic terrorists.
None.
This is your guy.
He said that.
He admitted that that was wrong.
Why won't you admit it?
I'll tell you the investigation is still ongoing.
And we'll...
So do you regret speaking before the investigation?
I would say that in those situations...
You regret that?
The chaotic scene on the ground, we relay information to the American people that they're asking for.
And as the things change, situations change...
People were asking you whether they were domestic terrorists?
And you decided that they were before the investigation?
As we learn more...
You don't want to say anything to their families?
I did.
I said condolences.
For what?
How about an apology for what you said about their loved ones?
My heart is with them, and we will continue to stand with them as they get a complete investigation into these situations.
All right.
Well,
Wow.
Jamie Raskin, that was awesome.
That was very good.
You can tell that she is in over her head.
I mean, look at her.
Look at her.
She is in over her head.
That is someone who is just wait until we get power, wait until we get power.
She is going to be one of the first ones put on trial.
Absolutely.
I cannot wait. Between this, Texas, I feel like we got a bit of our groove back. If you don't know,
we won the primary yesterday in Texas was awesome. We had two Democratic stars in a contentious primary,
and James Salarico came out on top. I think it made him a stronger candidate. I think primaries
make our parties stronger, and I am really excited about the possibility of flipping Texas in November.
We all are learning too that more than 100,000 more people voted in the Democratic primary than the Republican primary.
And though those are not predictive, what's going to happen in the fall, is it a very interesting data point, isn't it?
I'll see you soon.
Bye.
