Starting point is 00:00:00 This is truly the craziest story I think I might have covered yet on this channel. And I don't even know how to get into it. How do we get into the fact that Megan Kelly, who let's not forget was a morning host on the Today Show. She was seen as like a Katie Couric figure, but a little bit more conservative, is now blaming witches. I'm not. I'm not making this up. Blaming witches for Charlie Kirk's death. But before we get to that, if you could please hit like on this video and subscribe, it would help so much.
Starting point is 00:00:42 And we're almost at 900,000 subscribers, and it would help us get there. And it's free. So please hit like and subscribe. And let's get to this. And the reason why she's doing that is because Jezebel, which is a website featured a piece where it says here, we paid some Etsy witches to curse Charlie Kirk. If the far right misogynist with a bad haircut wants to villainize independent women,
Starting point is 00:01:09 Jezebel is more than happy to be the hag if his nightmares. And so what this article is then is just kind of like a tongue-in-cheek. It's almost like satire. I guess they really did do it. But they went on this website called Etsy where you can buy anything from candles to close, so I guess curses. And they bought a curse to curse or hex Charlie Kirk. And they go through how they did it here and it ends saying this. Now this is from the internet archive because, as you can see, the internet archive, because they actually deleted this post shortly after
Starting point is 00:01:46 Charlie Kirk's death. So this is an archived website. But it says, did my Etsy curse work? Time will tell. The forces move in mysterious ways, and as the priestess reminded me, spellwork is a collaboration between the caster and the client and the universe itself. For now, we can only trust in the timing of the great unknown, a special thank you, the Witchers and the Modern Aid. And to you, Mr. Kirk, may the rash come swiftly. But the author here did say that they do not intend any harm to Charlie Kirk. I don't know how you can buy a hex or curse and not ensure intend harm, but they did delete the post, as I said, and that says here in an editor's note,
Starting point is 00:02:27 on Monday, September 8th, we published the humorous piece title, we paid some Etsy witches to curse Charlie Kirk. The piece was intended to satire and made it absolutely clear that we wish no physical harm. We stand by every word, but in light of Wednesday's events and on the recommendation of our lawyers. We have removed the text. To be clear, this decision was driven by an abundance of caution for our staff, and to avoid the peace being misused in a tense and volatile environment, not by a change in our editorial judgment.
Starting point is 00:02:54 We may republish at a later date, but out of compassion for the victim's family, we want to make clear that we prioritize an end to violence over anyone wanting to read about Etsy, which is, okay, so they deleted it. They deleted it. Now, Megan Kelly doesn't care. Megan Kelly, and I'm, I cannot,
Starting point is 00:03:13 I'm just going to play the clip. I'm just going to play the clip. Because we are in cuckoo-land now, baby. We are in cuckoo-land. She talks about demons, witches, the devil? There actually are demons in this world. Calling up the spirit world, in particular the devil's spirit world, can actually have real-world consequences.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It's not something to mess with. Many Christians believe this. This is dangerous. It's not a game. It's literally evil. Second, this is what I really want you all and the people at Jezebel and Etsy to know. Erica and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses. And that news genuinely rattled Erica in particular.
Starting point is 00:04:05 She knew Christian teaching on this subject. She loved Charlie absolutely. And she was scared when she heard of the curses Jezebel had called up. So much so that she and Charlie contacted a friend who I believe she said was a Catholic priest, but definitely a friend and asked him to come over and pray with them over Charlie the night before he was murdered. She eventually worked it through and so did Charlie that as she later told me, weapons will form but not prosper, that Satan and those witches have no power. Of course, God's will is the one that matters and his blessing over Charlie was real and palpable.
Starting point is 00:04:53 All you had to do is spend time with Charlie to know that. But why torture a family like this? A Christian believing family. Megan Kelly didn't stop there. She also had this to say. Again, you may be saying to yourself, why are we talking about Etsy curses? None of this is real. Well, two things. First of all, Christians are opposed to casting spells or trying to contact the spirit world. Not only because they believe there's only one God, but because they acknowledge the existence of the devil and evil spirits. Here is father, Mike Schmidt.
Starting point is 00:05:29 He was on the day Charlie died, helping us through that as well. But he came on our show first time a couple of years ago, and here he is discussing this very subject. The motivation behind the Ouija board is actually something where I'm trying to contact spirits.
Starting point is 00:05:47 And someone could say, well, I'm trying to contact nice spirits. How to say, Mike Schmidt. All right. Okay, Father. And the unfortunate thing we know about is that, yes, when God created angels, you created angels, they're good. They're beautiful.
Starting point is 00:06:02 They're, they're. Sidebar. If Mike shit is a, Mike Schmidt is a priest. Does that mean? Like, he's never, he's never. Is that how that works? Because if he looks like that and he's a priest, it's kind of, it's kind of a shame on, for multiple reasons.
Starting point is 00:06:22 In harmony with him. But also, we know that. A number of those said no to God. A person who's reasonable would say, but I'm just playing. And I would say, I completely understand that. And then I would say at the same time, at the same time, you remember the movie The Exorcist? Of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:42 How can you forget it? So that story is based off of two true stories. And one of the true stories is, I believe, about if I can get the details right, is about a young man who, oh, was at, you know, kind of like a birthday party, some kind of celebration of some sort with kids. And they just busted out the Ouija board and just played for fun. But that was an entry point for what ultimately became a possession. What?
Starting point is 00:07:08 What? You're allowed to believe whatever you want. I do not judge anyone's beliefs. But this is why there's separation of church and state. This is why there's separation, clear delineation. Because people who think like that should not be. instructing our policy based on these sorts of beliefs. And I think that's part of the reason why we're in the pickle we're in.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Let's keep going. In other words, you're playing with fire messing with this stuff. There actually are demons. All right. And then she goes on to that other bit. All right. Well, we can't believe this. Oh, someone said, if Etsy witch magic was real, my last two girlfriends were to kill me by now,
Starting point is 00:07:53 L.O.O.O. Someone else said, I trust a witch. sooner than I trust the medical opinion of RFK Jr. True. True. True. I would trust a witch over RFK. The idea of a grown-ass woman being afraid of witches is so effing funny. I can't stop laughing. She actually consulted a priest.
Starting point is 00:08:11 These guys took me. This guy took time out of his day to come pray over these two roofs because they were afraid of curses and Charlie was turned into a pack the next day. Yeah. I mean, that's the thing is like, I don't know. I'm not going to go there. I'm not going to go there. Yes, because it was really at sea witches and not lacks gun laws mixing with a political radicalization media ecosystem, which Kirk literally profited from, and Megan Killy continues to profit from that led to Kirk's assassination. That would be too
Starting point is 00:08:43 on the nose. Yeah, it's not the guns. It's the witches. It's the witches. Well, I am for the first time in a while without words. That is truly funny and a mix of terrifying. So there you have it. It's the Etsy Witches. The Etsy Witches. I actually should probably call one. I should call an Etsy Witch and see what we what mischief we can get up to. Maybe I'll make a video on that. We will curse some people with Etsy Witches. Actually, that's a good idea. Maybe I'll do that. All right. Well, please do hit like and subscribe and I'll see you next time. Bye.
