Monia Trump is in the news for two terrible reasons.
One, because she gave an insane statement around the terrible shooting that happened yesterday,
that killed two children, and she was rejected by a magazine.
And she's trying to flip the script on that, but you let me know if you think that what she's saying is actually true.
And I also have Pam Bondi getting humiliated by the Denver mayor.
Let's get to that one first, because Pam Bondi sent a letter to,
every so-called sanctuary city saying that their policies have constructed federal immigration
enforcement for too long, quote, giving aliens cover to perpetuate crimes in our communities.
Bondi referenced President Trump's order threatening to withhold federal funding from jurisdictions
that obstruct federal immigration enforcement, something Denver and others are already challenging
in court. That's good. Identical letters were sent to dozens of other so-called sanctuary,
jurisdictions, including Boston, Seattle, and Portland.
She said to Fox News last week, quote, you better be abiding by our federal policies and with
our federal law enforcement, because if you're not, we're going to come after you.
So it's just so hypocritical that the most lawless administration in American history is
trying to enforce the law than everyone else.
By the way, they're not breaking the law, but here is the mayor of Denver, Mike Johnson,
saying just that.
A lot of letters in this job, like this one from Mimi inviting me to a Lubbubu unboxing,
or this one from Pam Bondi, the Attorney General, threatening me with criminal charges
for facilitating or inducing illegal immigration.
Well, let me answer this letter and give you the actual facts.
In Denver, we follow every state, local, and federal law.
In fact, the statutes that they allege that we violated 1373 and 1324,
we completely comply with.
We don't ask someone's status because it's not relevant if you were doing 65 and a 45 what your status is.
But the reason why it's important that we don't ask your status is if you're a victim of a crime,
you're very unlikely to actually report that crime if you're afraid someone's going to ask your immigration status and report you.
If you're a witness to a crime, you're unlikely to testify.
When they allege that we harbor folks from the federal government that have committed crime is completely false,
if you've committed a violent crime in Denver, we're pursuing you, we're arresting you, we're charging you,
We're working with the federal government to do that if that's what's required.
So we follow all of the federal laws in this big book.
But while we're talking about laws, there are some more laws we follow.
We also follow some pretty important laws in this little book called the Constitution of the United States.
Like, for instance, I like this one, amendments five, six, and eight.
That means if you have broken the law here in Denver, when we stop you, you get due process.
You get to be able to have counsel appointed to protect you.
You get to be able to have witnesses tell you what the charges are.
You get to be able to very conveniently go to right across the street where we have a courthouse and where we have a jail.
If you have to be kept, you get access to all of your rights rather than, say, being shipped off in the dead of night to a foreign country where you're held in a war camp in El Salvador, which turns out to be both a violation of the little book and a lot more expensive.
And so I'd say let's make a deal.
We'll agree, Attorney General.
We'll follow all the laws in the big book.
If you'll follow all the laws in the little book, maybe we can go back to something much more fun, like maybe doing a Labibou unboxing together.
I love this new crop of Democrats. That is fantastic messaging. Now, this got over, let's see here, 100,000 views, 9,000 likes.
Congratulations to Mike Johnson. Thank you for actually fighting back and doing it in a way that I think people appreciate. You're not being an asshole. You're kind of just pointing out the absurdity. And that's what this whole moment is, is frankly absurd. We are living through an absurdist moment that deserves ridicule.
We can be outraged. We should also ridicule it. And that's one way to puncture the whole
in authoritarianism is to make fun of what's happening. Let's do that right now by talking about
what Ms. Melania Trump said about this shooting that happened at a school. I'm pretty sure this
is written by AI. I'm pretty sure. The tragic mass killing in Minnesota eliminates the need for
preemptive intervention and identifying potential school shooters. Early warning signs are
often evident, with many individuals exhibiting concerning behaviors and making violent threats
online prior to the actions. To prevent future tragedies, it is crucial that we look into
behavioral threat assessments and cross all levels of society beginning in our homes,
extending through school districts and, of course, social media platforms. Being aware of these
warning signs and acting quickly can save lives and make American communities safer.
Okay, so let's just parse that out because it's incredible how Melania Trump can say so much,
but then say truly nothing at all.
Early warning signs are often evident with many individuals exhibiting concerning.
Okay, that's true.
Okay.
To prevent future tragedies, it is crucially look into behavioral threat assessments
across all levels of society.
Okay.
Okay.
So we're going to stop mass shootings by looking into behavioral threat assessments
across all levels of society, beginning in our homes, extending through school districts,
and, of course, social media platforms.
Being aware of the warning signs and acting quickly can save lives and make America.
Okay, so I guess she's saying is be aware of what your child is posting,
or is she saying the government should start to monitor everyone's social media?
Who says social media platforms?
Anyways, that's clearly written by AI.
She also offers actually no solution.
She's just saying a very broad strokes.
She's just saying very broad strokes here.
So being aware of these warning signs
can act quickly and stabilize and make American communities.
No, the thing that will make American community safer
is if we, I don't know, just ban AR-15s.
It's literally all the way to do.
We can leave the Second Amendment alone.
Apparently those amendments don't mean that much
because Donald Trump is pissing all over them.
But that, as it is, we can leave it alone and still just ban AR-15s.
We don't need to be able to have simple access to weapons of war.
But I don't know.
Maybe we should just instead look into behavioral threat assessments across all levels of society.
All right, well, you'll be surprised to learn that Vanity Fair almost had a walkout
over the fact that they were going to potentially put Melania Trump on the cover.
Vanity Fair's new boss reportedly wanted First Lady Melania Trump to grace the glossy magazine's
coveted cover, leaving disgruntled woke staff threatening to walk out the mother-effing door
if it goes ahead. The fashion magazine's global editorial director, Mark Diducci, has floated
the possibility of putting President Trump's wife on the cover of the Condi Nast to own publication
as he tries to make his mark in his newly-mented role.
But the mere thought of that sent people into a backlash, as it should, as it should.
Quote, I will walk out of the motherfucking door, and half of my staff will follow me, said one editor.
Someone else said, we are not going to normalize this Despo and his wife.
We're not going to do it.
We're going to stand for what's right.
Quote, I have to work bagging groceries at Trader Joe's.
I'll do it.
Oh, my God.
if the editor puts Malani in the cover of half of the historical walkout or guarantee it.
And others insisted there's no way employees would give up such a prestigious job out of protest.
She did settle for Vanity Fair's cover for Mexico in 2017.
But here's how Melania Trump is trying to spin this.
Juania's team is saying that she laughed at the vanity fair offer and rejected it.
Do you believe that?
Do you believe a Trump would reject and laugh at getting a magazine cover?
I don't believe that.
So it says here she's not the slightest bit interested.
A fashion source familiar to the first lady's thinking says she, quote,
laughed at the vanity fair request in July and rejected it immediately.
This is the funniest part.
She doesn't have time to be sitting in a photo shoot.
Her priorities as First Lady are far more important.
These people don't deserve her anyway.
Her priorities is First Lady.
We've talked about this so many times.
She doesn't even live in the White House.
She lives in New York.
She doesn't even, she's barely, I mean, she's so not First Lady.
She's never in their East Wing.
They're tearing down the East Wing because she's never there.
It's not going to matter to build a 90,000 square foot ballroom.
So yeah, I don't believe a word of that.
She's obviously very upset that it's not happening.
And she's trying to spend the story.
But this is what we need to do.
We need to make these people parasites in our culture, in my opinion.
And this is one way to do it.
She's doing a lot of good work asking ChatGBT to write her tweets.
All right.
Well, thank you for watching.
