An email has leaked proving that MSNBC is in the hands of Donald Trump, whether they want to admit or not.
And I have that for you coming right up.
And this is in reaction to what Matthew Dowd experienced, but she just basically told the truth about Charlie Kirk, was fired.
And Brian Kilmead, on the other hand, who said, this wasn't.
Billions of dollars to mental health and the homeless population, a lot of them don't want to take the programs.
A lot of them don't want to get the help there as necessary.
You can't give them a choice.
Either you take the resources that we're going to give you
or you decide that you're going to be locked up in jail.
That's the way it has to be now.
Or involuntary lethal injection or something.
Just kill them.
Yeah, he said just kill about 600,000 Americans.
By the way, I know they don't want to be called Nazis
and I don't want to call them Nazis,
but I will say that is something the Nazis did.
There was a huge firestorm online, which is great,
and a lot of pushback.
as there should have been. Now, this man should have been fired, in my opinion. Absolutely no reason
why he should have a job today. He does. And because he still has a job, he just felt like he needed
to apologize. And here, you let me know if it sounds like this man sounds sorry. And it actually
happened when we were together on Wednesday, Lawrence, in the morning, we were discussing the murder
of Arena Saruska and Charlotte, North Carolina. Now, how to stop these kinds of attacks by
homeless mentally ill assailants, including institutionalizing or jailing such people so they cannot
attack again. Now, during that discussion, I wrongly said they should get lethal injections. I
apologize for that extremely callous remark. I'm obviously aware that not all mentally ill homeless
people act as the perpetrator did in North Carolina and that so many homeless people deserve
our empathy and compassion. Lawrence, back to you. Great. Great apology. And just so you're aware,
Brian, majority of Americans are about one catastrophe away from being homeless. So that might not be
you, but that is a lot of Americans who are just one disaster away from being homeless because
most Americans don't make enough and aren't able to save enough and don't have the cushion
in case tragedy were to strike them. Now, this is incomplete, complete, I mean, imagine if someone
on MSNBC said a vast majority of Americans should be killed by the government.
There'd be a huge upbore.
Now, Matthew Dowd didn't say anything like that.
He just said this and he got fired.
But following up what was just said, he's been one of the most divisive, especially divisive
younger figures in this who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort
of aimed at certain groups.
And I always go back to hateful thoughts, lead to hateful words, which then leads to hateful words,
which then lead to hateful actions.
Does that sound to you?
Like, it doesn't sound like anything to me other than the truth.
He's not saying he deserved it.
He's not saying he's glad it happened.
He's just kind of saying,
hey, this is kind of what I believe happens
when you create an environment of hate
and use violent rhetoric.
We've shown some of the clips of Charlie Kirk
where he has said pretty extreme things.
He said that Joe Biden should be executed.
He has said things like, you know,
Some deaths because of mass shootings are just going to have to be acceptable if you want the Second Amendment.
He's saying a lot.
He said a lot of bad things.
Does he deserve to die?
Of course not.
Does this man deserve to be fired for that?
No, I don't believe he deserves to be fired because of him just pointing out the reality of the environment, the right, and Charlie Kirk have created with their own rhetoric.
Now, I guess this shouldn't be surprising because it turns out, in a leaked email, Comcast has warned their employees.
to say anything wrong about Charlie Kirk. They were actually instructed, I'm not sure if that's in
this report, but they're actually instructed to not share that thing I just told you about Charlie Kirk
saying that the Second Amendment may mean that some people have to die. They were told them
to show that clip during news reports. Now, they also were said this in an email. I'm just going to
read you the full email. Dear Comcast, NBC Universal team, the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk,
A 31-year-old husband and advocate for open debate whose faith was important to him
reminds us of the fragility of life and the urgent need for unity in our nation.
Our hearts are heavy as his passing leaves a grieving family
and a country grappling with division.
There is no place for violence or hate in our society.
I agree.
Charlie Kirk was a perpetrator of hate.
That is a fact.
You may have seen that MSNBC recently ended its association with a contributor who made
and unacceptable and insensitive comment about this horrific event.
I played you that comment.
Did that sound horrific to you or insensitive or unacceptable?
It sounds like he's doing what he's supposed to do,
which is explaining this situation and how we got here.
Okay.
The coverage was at odds with fostering civil dialogue
and being willing to listen to the points of view of those who have differing opinions.
We should be able to disagree robustly and passionately, ultimately with respect.
We need to do better.
This is insane to quote Charlie Cron.
Charlie Kirk.
Charlie Kirk believed that when people stop talking, really bad stuff starts.
Regardless of whether you agree with his political views, his words and actions underscore the urgency
to maintain a respectful exchange of ideas, a principle we must champion.
We believe in the power of communication to bring us together today that belief feels
more vital than ever.
Something essential has fractured in our public discourse.
And as a company that values the power of information, we have a responsibility to help
mend it as employees.
we ask you to embody our values in your working communities, we should engage with respect,
listen, and treat people with kindness.
MSNBC President Rebecca Cutler also issued an apology, saying that the words of Matthew
Dow were inappropriate and sensitive and unacceptable.
I just want to point out that I'm interested to see what happens with someone like Mark Zuckerberg,
who literally eight months ago was on Joe Rogan talking about the First Amendment and how the
government shouldn't be allowed to censor stuff.
I think we can all agree on that for the most part.
But we have folks like Lipsed TikTok and Laura Lumer who aren't acts right now firing,
trying to get people fired for just doing what I have just done,
which is just calling out the hypocrisy of the hate that Charlie Kirk spewed
and the environment he has created helped create.
Well, that apparently is enough to get you fired now in Trump's America,
which we're just pointing out someone's own words.
But I'm interested to hear what Mark Zuckerberg has to say,
because here's what he said about censorship and free speech.
That kind of stuff scares the shit out of me.
When the government gets involved in what could be termed election interference,
but through some weird loophole, it's legal,
whereas some election interference.
I don't think that the pushing for social media companies to censor stuff was legal.
I mean, there's all the stuff about what, like,
people talk about the First Amendment and, okay, these tech platforms should,
should offer free speech like the First Amendment.
That, I think, is a philosophical principle.
The First Amendment doesn't apply to companies in our content moderation.
It's more of an American ethos about how we think that best dialogue is carried out.
But the First Amendment does apply to the government.
That's like the whole point, right?
Is the government is not allowed to censor this stuff.
So at some level, I do think that having people in the administration calling up the guys on our team,
and yelling at them and cursing and threatening repercussions if we don't take down things that are true
is like it's pretty bad it's just so you know the biden administration requested that meta take down
some posts that had covid misinformation now what they didn't do was force them they didn't use the
weight of the government to pressure them they certainly didn't levy tariffs on them or anything
like that or put the DOJ on them or say well if you don't do this then we're going to uh we're going
to make sure the deal that you want to do doesn't get through they just asked they've requested
that's all they did they didn't force what we're experiencing now is a government that is forcing itself
on private individuals and companies so interested to hear what mark zuckerberg thinks about
