Okay, so we have some pretty big news here and I wanted to bring you this even though it's late at night and if you don't know I've been traveling all day
But that doesn't matter. That doesn't matter. I'm sorry. This is not like my normal setup, but I'm obviously traveling and I don't have my camera and stuff set up like my on-the-road setup
But I wanted to bring this to you while I could and while this was still breaking news. So if you don't know, we
had a primary today in Texas and we got some really big
information and some big news surrounding that primary. So this has not actually been called
yet on the Democratic side, but a lot of people who are very knowledgeable about elections, about
data, about where the votes are and aren't, had been able to pretty much accurately call that
though there's still more vote to be counted, James Talarico has won the Democratic
primary for Texas Senate and we'll be going to the general election to face against a
Republican and as you can see here there's 53% versus 46% of the vote which means
there will be no runoff now that's not the case for the Republican side where
Paxton and Cornyn are going to be facing off and they have it looks like quite a
fight on their hands because only 2% between them and we are
have to now wonder if Donald Trump, who did not endorse in the primary, is going to perhaps
endorse in the runoff. We will see, but our hope should be that Tala Rico faces Paxton,
because Paxton is an adulterer. He's a MAGA crazy person, and he's been impeached
for doing things in office that are not great. More I'll tell you about that.
in the future. But certainly this is a good day for Democrats. We had two really strong
candidates. They fought it out. And we have our nominee. Now, I want to say this before we get
into more of this stuff. But like, if no matter who you were for, what I really don't want to
see and what I haven't been seeing much of is gloating on either side.
Because, like, honestly, primaries are tough, but like the important thing is after primaries, after the election happens, after voters make their choice, is that we as much as we can come together as a party and we support the nominee and we do what we can to defeat Republicans.
And our time of being choosy was during the primary and now the primary is over.
ideally we come together
we become a coalition
and we work really hard
to defeat Republicans
to defeat fascism was really what this is all about
okay now
that's why I thought was great that
Jose
Jose Can You See
on X
said this I thought this was very big
he was a big Crockett supporter
he said congrats to James Salarica
This moment reminds me of what scripture tells us as iron sharpens iron.
So one person sharpens another.
James Talarico was sharpened by going up against Jasmine Crockett,
and now he's ready to take it on whichever degenerate Republicans put up.
This is what I'm talking about.
Like we, I'm telling you, this was an ugly primary battle on the internet, at least.
Apparently in person, it was much nicer.
But this is what I'm talking about.
talking about. It's very, very, very good to see. And the good thing about this, too, is that
though Jasmine Crockett will not be going to the house, her replacement in the house is very
progressive. Because I recognize that we've got to be pro-Israel. Yeah, we've got to do that.
Or we get in trouble. Well, I'm coming to get in trouble. And I'm going to quote Jimmy Carter.
Jimmy Carter says that Israel is engaging
in apartheid with Palestinians.
This is 23, by the way.
2023.
Palestinians who don't have the weaponry of Israel.
The Palestinians don't have the financial backing from the United States that Israel has.
And so they throw their rocks and shoot their arrows.
And Israel is able to bomb them and kill them.
Watch in the news a disparity between Palestinians being killed and Israelis being killed.
killed. It is totally unfair, but this country's going to stand on the side of apartheid because
that's its track record. It's stood by apartheid in South Africa because it created apartheid
in this country. Yeah, that person is likely going to the house because he won the primary
and is a very blue district. And here's more on James Tolariko and what is happening in Texas.
Yeah, I'm just thinking, as Chris was saying that, it's people from all these candidates who are going to see and we're going to be introduced to some of them tonight, they may not look like the person you see doing an amazing screed on the House steps, right?
The thing that reminds me a little bit of 2006, when Democrats won back the House for the first time and a long time, and I was working the D-Triple-C, is some of the candidates who are being recruited are people who are non-traditional in some ways.
One of my favorite candidates is this guy, Bobby Polito, who's a Tejano star in Texas.
His district is so gerrymandered.
It's crazy.
But he, it's a Republican district, but he is somebody who is incredibly culturally popular.
He's not a traditional politician.
He probably can't give speeches on a lot of the issues we see people talking about in Washington,
but he fits the district.
And I think we're going to start to be introduced to some people and characters who are very anti-outside of Washington,
but are meeting the moment of what is needed where they live.
And that's kind of interesting.
And particularly out of Texas, where Democrats made the decision this year for this cycle
that they were not going to leave any race uncontested,
that they were going to run from dog catcher up to governor,
they're going to run people everywhere.
And it means they recruited a lot of non-traditional candidates.
So he's like a Latin Grammy winner and this incredibly popular Tejano star.
Washington could use that spirit.
And that's, I mean, that's another thing that I love about,
James Salarico, too, is that he is not a traditional politician, and he's someone that, I mean, listen, you might like the Democratic Party.
I'm going to tell you right now that polling shows that the only thing more unpopular than Democrats than the Democratic Party, or sorry, the only thing more unpopular than Trump, I gave it away, is the Democratic Party.
And one thing James has said repeatedly is that he's done things to distance himself from Joe Biden, from the Democratic establishment.
and I do think that that type of person
with a progressive message
one rooted in the progressive nature of Christianity
very interesting things could happen
I don't know what's going to happen
I don't know I think it's going to be a very very very very very very very
tough fight to flip that seat but it can be done
when I worked on John Alsoft's campaign in 2020
we actually went to a run off on that campaign
And we won by 10,000 votes.
10,000 votes for the difference between flipping the Senate at that time and having one of the youngest members of the Senate and not.
So it doesn't take, you don't get a win by a lot, you just got to win.
And I do think, even though James Salarico may not win.
by a lot in Texas, I think
the fact that we have a very, very
unpopular Donald Trump,
he's doing all these freaking things
are not popular with
ICE and a war in Iran
and a war for Israel
and prices
not going down.
In fact, prices are rising.
And on top of that, people just want to do
something to change the direction
of this country.
That plus
someone like James Tala Rico
go could mean something really big could happen.
But it's going to take each and every one of us fighting very hard to make it happen.
And not just in Texas.
We got there's a, we're going to, we're at to spread ourselves because there are multiple
big races happening that we're going to be talking about on this channel.
But this is definitely something that I'm going to be focused on here.
I do think it's possible.
I believe.
I believe.
I believe that we can do the impossible.
the impossible is possible the only thing usually keeping us from making the impossible possible is our
selves and when i was working in georgia a lot of people were like you're not going to flip
the like why are you doing that you're never going to lose you're and i was like no we're going to win
and we can win we're going to win let's be let's be optimistic let's work towards uh a common goal
and let's freaking flip the senate blue okay okay i'm going to go take a nap i'm going to go take a nap
I'm gonna go sleep
