Impeachment, impeachment, impeachment. That is on the White House's mind as more Republicans are coming out against this White House. And I now have an interview with one Republican who is saying all options are on the table. Even Ben Shapiro, Ben Shapiro, not a liberal, has said that this administration needs to change. Here he is saying that Christy Nome needs to get replaced.
order to drive this sort of stupidity, you have to have this binary narrative where everyone who's
being sought by ice is good. Everyone who obstructs ice is not just good and innocent, but a martyr
to the cause. And ICE agents then become Nazis. Well, the Trump administration has been shifting
tactics. And so they sent Tom Homan from Department of Homeland Security. The Borders are,
so he doesn't actually have a secretariat. He should. It is my informed opinion that
Kristy Noem should go and Tom Homan should take her place. In any case.
So that's a huge shakeup in the fact that Republicans like Ben Shapiro are coming out there and saying that
Christy Noem has to be replaced. Now, Christy Noem is responding to this and she's making some changes within DHS. I'm going to tell you about. So there's obviously some pushback from the White House saying that something needs to change. And we all know, too, that Donald Trump took Christy Noam out of Minneapolis and put Tom Homan in. And so Ben Shapiro's a little bit on the money here. Now, there's an Atlantic piece saying this is Trump's new method of humiliation where he actually doesn't.
fire people. He just says, let the bad people stay and it's better to have a loyalist in
than to have someone in there that actually might do a competent job. He wants something that's
going to carry out the worst of his ideas rather than push back. A little bit here. The lack of
high-level turnover in this White House says plenty about the nature of this Trump administration
compared to the first. Whereas his previous term included several relatively experienced and
responsible actors willing to disagree with president, Trump consciously assembled a collection of
hyper-loyalists this time around. People focused wholly on carrying out his wishes. Ultimately,
if Trump sees a top aide as fulfilling that mission, he has been willing to overlook many shortcomings
and embarrassments. He is also clearly trying to adhere to a quote, no-scalph's rule,
loath to be seen as bowing to pressure from anyone or giving his opponent any satisfaction.
It goes on to say here, in announcing Homan's assignment in Minnesota, Trump said Homan would directly
report to him not to Christy Noem.
Homan held a news conference Thursday morning in which he said,
I didn't come to Minnesota for photo ops or headlines,
which is obviously a slight against Christy Noem and Bovino.
Noem Zeal for PhotoOps and over the top style get-ups has been well established and widely
mocked and earned her the somewhat sexist name Ice Barbie.
And it reminds us here that Christy Noem was at Trump's stupid cabinet secretary meeting
where they all just lick his balls in front of each other.
But as it says here, Trump never called a no one.
to speak. So it's still icy for ice Barbie. And we also know, too, that other Republicans had been
wanting her out. Tom Tillis, Senator, said, if I were in her position, I can't think of any point
of pride over the last year. And Mikowski said, yes, she should go. Now, we also have here a Republican
in the House who is saying all options are on the table when it comes to Christy Noem.
How long will that impact our viewers? Well, House Republican leaders, Wolf, are confident.
that they will have the votes to reopen the government today, ending the four-day government
shutdown. The second government shutdown of President Trump's second term, while a partial
government shutdown, it impacts a wide range of federal agencies, everything from the Defense
Department to Health and Human Services and the Labor Department, many other programs and
employees affected because of it. But the votes will be critical. In a matter of minutes,
the House is expected to take the first procedural step to take up this larger funding
package. And that procedural step is going to be supportive.
by Republicans alone. Democrats are going to vote in unison against it, meaning
Johnson, the Speaker of the House, can afford to lose one Republican vote along party lines.
He's confident he can keep his conference together after pressure came from President Trump
for members to fall in line.
Now, well, this all came in the aftermath of the second deadly shooting in Minneapolis involving
federal immigration officers and American citizens.
After that, Democrats demanded changes to the Homeland Security Department aspect of that bill,
a deal that was cut in the Senate extended funding for the Department of Homeland Security for two weeks.
But here in the House, questions about how that will proceed.
There's also questions about Christine Nome, her future as Secretary of Homeland Security.
Several member, many Democrats, of course, are calling for impeachment.
Some Republicans too also raising concerns about her handling of what's going on with these ICE agents and the like,
including this one Congressman Nicole Malia Takas, who I caught up with earlier this morning.
And Nicole Meliotakis is the moderate Republican who represents Staten Island.
Do you have concerns about the way Christine Nome is doing handling things?
I do. I do. And I have concerns.
Do you have confidence in her?
Confidence who?
And do you have confidence in Nome?
Look, I think that a lot of people question her ability to lead this agency, particularly after what has happened.
And I had concerns with DHS funding, being stripped from NYPD counterterrorism.
That to me was a horrific decision.
I think that all options need to be on the table to find the best person if there's somebody better.
All options on the table, baby.
If you're like, would you impeach her and you say all options are on the table,
that is very telling.
Imagine if you're in a relationship and you're saying,
do you want to bring up with me?
And they said, all options are on the table.
That wouldn't be very comforting, wouldn't it?
Now, we know that Christy Noem is sweating because she just came out with a new program in Minneapolis
where they are going to have body cameras on all DHS field officers.
Here's a little bit of that.
announcing every officer there will receive body cameras.
Maggie Vespa is there for us tonight.
Maggie, why now?
Well, Tom, the administration isn't saying, but it is worth noting this is one of the first major policy shifts
Since Borders are, Tom Homan arrived in Minneapolis and said things here haven't gone, quote, perfectly.
Now today, to your point, DHS Secretary Christine Ome posting on X that effective immediately, every officer in the field here in Minneapolis will have body cameras with the goal of expanding the program nationwide as funding becomes available.
President Trump saying cameras generally tend to be good for law enforcement because, quote, people can't lie about what's happening.
This amid raging protests and ongoing ice raids here in Minneapolis and of course in the wake of two.
Yeah, so Tom Homan has thrown Christyneum under the bus and moderate Republicans are willing to take the bus and drive over her,
perhaps rewinding a few times as she's on the ground.
So there is definitely, I would say we should start a countdown clock for Christyome.
How much longer can she last?
I'm not sure.
But I just want to remind you, we are not.
not out of the woods. Even though this seems like we are at least gaining some ground, which is good.
Just earlier today, Mike Johnson said this about ICE violating the Fourth Amendment.
When ICE goes to execute a warrant, it's an administrative warrant and it's issued by an immigration judge.
And that is a sufficient legal authority to go and apprehend someone. They have violated the law.
They crossed over our border illegally and they're here and without any right to be here.
Okay. That's what's happening. Now, the controversy has erupt where if someone is, you know, they're going to be apprehended and they run behind a closed door and lock the door.
I mean, what is I supposed to do? What is immigration and customs enforcement supposed to do at that point? Oh, gee whiz, they locked the door.
I mean, I guess we'll just go on to our, I mean, so there's some logic and reason that is to be applied here.
some have complained that the force has been excessive or what have you.
I don't know.
We're going to figure that out.
It's part of the discussion over the next couple of weeks.
I tell you what the Democrats want to do and what we cannot do.
And that is they want to add an entirely new layer of warrant requirement.
No.
So like as you said there, Mike Johnson says that ICE doesn't need a judicial warrant.
That is completely untrue.
He claimed that administration, administrative warrants are signed by an immigration judge.
That's false.
It's just not true. More here. Again, that's false. Administrative warrants are not signed by an immigration judge or any judge at all. They are generated and signed by ICE officers themselves with no external oversight. So they can be like, hey, I need a warrant for this building. Okay, here you go. It's like nothing. It's like writing a little note. Here you go. Here you go. So no. What he's saying is not true. But I bring that to you to show that ice is corrupt through and through. Just if we just because we get rid of Christyneum or just because there's body cam footage.
Doesn't mean rights aren't being violated.
And I personally believe the only thing we should do is completely get rid of ICE.
But I don't think a bad first step is at least getting weird of the woman who made it as bad as it is.
And with that, please do hit like, subscribe.
I'll see you soon.
Bye.
