Starting point is 00:00:22 free of charge. BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with Eye Gaming Ontario. Happy Friday, baby. It's good news Friday. It's the video where we tell you all about the good news. It's a video where we don't talk about Trump. We don't talk about him. In fact, he's not even allowed on this video. So no Trump in this video. This is only good news. Optimistic news. News that you can share with your friends and family. And as you can see here, it's also October. And we did a little bit of decorating for the show. And I don't know, who is that behind me? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I keep thinking, like, is it Mitch McConnell? I don't know. I don't know who that is, but I quite enjoy him. And I'm very happy to be with you today. Now, we've got a lot of videos to go through. We've got a lot of viral videos. We have some folks who are doing good. And we have this guy here who went super viral because he's telling what he says is a vase.
Starting point is 00:01:18 And other people are like, uh, that looks like something else. Antiques is having their quarterly modern design, 20, essential design. Check this out. This has got to be one of the biggest vases I've ever seen. Look at this thing. Has the Lusite base on it. It's got this nice cream color to it. Flaired base. I mean, flared base. You'd love it. It is like $3.95 coming up under three day. I'm like that sold fast. Now, as I said, it went super far as a million likes and a lot of comments. Someone right here. I think I saw a smaller vase like this fall out of someone's suitcase at the train station once. Someone else says, bro, I would not be touching the action end. And someone else says, it's got a
Starting point is 00:02:09 flared base, so it's safe for use. And if you don't know what this looks like, then good for you. You're an innocent soul. Sometimes our elected officials protect us. It doesn't happen often enough, but it does happen. And Seattle's City Council actually passed a law that protects consumers, not corporations. I'll let this reporter explain more. First passed an ordinance that ban certain grocery stores from using personal data to charge shoppers different prices for the same items. It's called surveillance, pricing. Maybe you've heard of it, and it would impact stores with more than 20 locations globally. Most council members, and Mayor Katie Wilson agree that shoppers deserve equal pricing. The bill,
Starting point is 00:02:54 make Seattle the first city in the nation to ban the pricing scheme. Do we want to create an economy where data brokers collect 2,000 data points on you to tailor all of your prices for you for better or for worse? That's not the foundation of a fair marketplace, and I do not believe that is the economy that will serve working people well. The council says traditional coupons and transparent discounts for groups like veterans or seniors will not be impacted by the ban. Good. I didn't know they were doing that. I guess I sort of knew that on some level. Like, I do know that flights, depending upon where you are, who you are, what you're booking will be a dramatically different price than, like, for me versus someone else. So it does happen. And I know Uber's, for instance, Uber's are, I don't, like, does anyone know how much? It used to be that you would know how much if you lived in New York, you know how much it would cost to go from one place to the other. And now it's just kind of a crap shoot. I do think we have. to take, we have to take a sledgehammer to all of this crazy pricing. And we just need to know that what you're getting charged is exactly as someone else is getting charged. It just makes sense to
Starting point is 00:04:03 me. And I'm glad that Seattle is leading the way. And I just, I think it's good news to show that we're still passing laws that protect people. Doesn't seem like it happens enough, but it's happening. James Salarico is going viral for this moment where he hand delivered a campaign yard sign. I'm a thief in this neighborhood. So folks are making handmade Tallul Rico for Texas signs and I brought a replacement.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Hey, how are you? Pretty good. It's good to see you. I came to bring a replacement. I love the handmade sign. I thought maybe you'd want a real one though, so decided to bring you one. They stole all the signs on Kenny Avenue.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Yeah. Go out here and ours is gone and I go, well, wait a minute. How about I just go make a new one? Hey, I love it. They can't stop us. Hopefully, I'll get to come back as Senator. I certainly hope so. Well, thank you, sir. I appreciate you. Thank you. And here's your new sign, your real one. And if they, if they steal this one, I'll come back.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Okay. It will make them too. Hey, I appreciate y'all. Thank you. We'll see you soon. Okay. So cute. That's good campaign work, by the way. That took a lot of work to make that video happen. I'm sure those people are very happy. And look, 56,000 views. And we're watching out here. It did the job. And you know what I liked about it too?
Starting point is 00:05:26 Good audio. It's very important. Audio is very important. Now, I'm just going to say, Tala Rico, very close to winning. We've showed you the polls many times before. We're not going to bring it up here. We try to not talk about too much politics on this particular video.
Starting point is 00:05:44 But that is a heartwarming moment. And it does look as though James Tala Rico is heading towards winning the Senate. and let's just watch this. 221,000 likes. Hey, Mr. Trump. What did you say about the new dictator of Iran? He's gay. He's very gay.
Starting point is 00:06:05 How did you find that out? My intelligence, I saw him on the apps. Sol it on the app. He's gay. He's on the gay apps. Your intelligence is through apps? My eyeballs. My eyeballs, solid on the apps.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Why were you on the apps? I'm going to date schedule next week. You were on Grindr? He's gay. He's gay. Trump, what are you doing here? You're not supposed to be in this video? No, that's very cute.
Starting point is 00:06:30 That's cute. I'll take it. I'll take it. We're getting awfully close, though. We're getting awfully close, though. That's a very funny impression. And this kid's been doing this for a while. No, I think he has, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Look at this 84,000 followers. My recommendation to you, though, young content creator, do not get pigeonholed. Do other stuff. Do other stuff. Sometimes a lot of consecrators, they find the thing that works, and then they do it until it no longer works. Expand. Do not rely on Trump. Trump will not be around forever, but very funny. All right, let's move on here.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Someone says, this is New York City. Someone says exercising my free will in New York City again. I'd no idea what this is. Can I try that? Come over there, make a G. G? Trace to G. Wait, what G?
Starting point is 00:07:20 Look, come out. Come down. Come down. Come down. Come in the street. Step in the street. Okay. And turn this way. See the G?
Starting point is 00:07:27 What G? Oh, that G. Make a G. Chase the G. Start the top. Start the top. And then come around. Visit BetMGM Casino and check out the newest exclusive.
Starting point is 00:07:37 The Price is Right Fortune Pick. BetMDM and Game Sense remind you to play responsibly. 19 plus to wager. Ontario only. Please play responsibly. Starting point is 00:08:29 So she went up to her construction worker and was like, can I please try that? I love that. I love that. You know what? You know what? Good for her. Good for her. How often do you think to yourself, I think we get so in our routine.
Starting point is 00:08:43 You know, I'm going to try that. I'm going to try sometime doing something just kind of out of nowhere. I don't know what that would be. Truly, all I do is I'm just, I'm locked in this. I'm just locked in here. And I'm in purgatory in the studio, really. this and CrossFit, that's all I do. But I like that.
Starting point is 00:09:01 I just think most people are stuck in a routine. And I think that's a small thing, but you can surprise yourself. And people can surprise you too. I don't know. I don't know. I'm having a hard time explaining why that impresses me. But I just feel like,
Starting point is 00:09:21 I'm going to try to use my word, it's what I do for living. But it's like, I can do. this. I can do this. We're so in our routine that you never, like, you never just go up to someone and be like, hey, I like your sequins purse. Where did you get it? You know, I just, that's like that, it's like that thing. It's just reaching out, letting people say yes. I don't know. Made me feel good. All right, here's some amazing news. Gentlemen in NYC, I believe,
Starting point is 00:09:52 made voting locations more accessible so that more people can vote. Let's watch. George Gallego is putting the finishing touches on a space he built for New Yorkers with disabilities. Tuesday, it'll host an event where people can register to vote, make a voting plan, and learn more about the issues on the ballot.
Starting point is 00:10:13 There aren't enough folks with disabilities that are sitting at the roundtable where decisions are being made. Gallego and his partner, Danielle Swatish, created the Access Project to connect people with disabilities. disabilities to resources and to each other. Now they're using that space to help people take a more active role in the democratic process. Also helping people make a voting plan. I think you shouldn't
Starting point is 00:10:34 leave it to the last day to go and know who you're going to vote for. You should research, right? Advocates say people with disabilities make up a huge voting block. Nearly one million New Yorkers live with a disability, including about 920,000 who are voting age. That's 11% of city residents. Presidents. Pavar Snipe is a comedian who close out the event with a comedy show, but she says what's at stake for people with disabilities. It's not funny. Basically life and death is what we're talking about when it comes to, you know, changes in Medicaid, when it comes to changes in the way that people may or may not be able to get services in home or could end up being institutionalized. And this event, it is tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:11:16 East Harlem includes voter registration, accessibility advocates say they'll also be voting resources. and conversations with advocates and community leaders. By the way, the mayor's office for people with disabilities says it's also expanding voter outreach ahead of Election Day. Here's some good news. What have you done? What have you done lately? All right?
Starting point is 00:11:36 Well, I'm going to tell you what. I bet you didn't do what this 12-year-old did. Delivered 30,000 diapers to people who need it. Let's watch. 12-year-olds need a ride to the store. This one filled a U-Haul with thousands of diapers for families who need them most in its uplifting Arizona. Good morning. The families won't arrive for a little while, but Sloan Petty is already here.
Starting point is 00:11:58 We'll probably go through all of these today. Yeah. Making sure the diapers are stocked, organized, and ready to go. I just feel like diapers are such an overlooked thing. This morning, the 12-year-old is helping volunteers get nourish Phoenix ready for another day serving the community. A place where families can find food, clothing, hygiene products and job assistance. And for many parents, one of the most valuable things on the shelves isn't food at all. It's diapers. Here's just a small amount of the diapers that she brought to us.
Starting point is 00:12:32 For many families visiting Norish Phoenix, every dollar matters. And diapers can quickly become one of the biggest expenses in the household. So when Sloan rolled up recently with nearly 30,000 of them, people took notice. I mean, we had so many diapers. Like you could barely walk around our house. The donation from friends family. You know what I'm thinking? She could donate to the White House.
Starting point is 00:12:58 William strangers filled a U-Haul. But the story started years earlier when Sloan first volunteered here at just seven years old. She saw families working hard, doing everything right, and still needing a little help. I can't believe she's 12. She looks like 15 or 16. That's crazy. She decided to become part of it. If we have the ability to give people something.
Starting point is 00:13:20 that they might not have or need. It's really important to do that. She delivered 7,000 diapers that first year, and it's only gotten bigger since launching Sloan's diaper drive.org, now helping more families than she ever imagined. My little girl shakes, she has such a big heart, and she just like loves helping and giving back.
Starting point is 00:13:39 And while this diaper donation will eventually disappear, Sloan certainly won't let the shelves stay empty for long. I'm ABC 15's Cameron Pullum, and that's uplifting area. thing here. That's actually amazing. That's amazing. That's amazing. And, you know, I got to say, we try to do our own little version of that here. And we have also tried to contribute to folks. I do think that's something that we got to look into because, you know, we've done fundraising for candidates. We are doing phone banking, by the way. Did you know phone banking this Sunday at,
Starting point is 00:14:12 wait, what now was? At 2 p.m. Eastern, of course, for Rob Sand, we're phone banking. Okay. Come hang out and phone making. If you don't want to phone bank, everyone's like, Keith. I don't like to phone me. Okay, you can still hang out. You can come watch me phone bank. Okay? You don't have to participate. You can be an observer. We just want to have fun. Also, also, people are like, I'm Canadian. You're allowed to. I asked if you're Canadian, you're allowed to call voters. There's nothing illegal about calling voters and reminding them as time to vote. So if your excuse is I'm in Ireland or I'm Canada or I'm in South Africa, I can't, no, you can participate. Doesn't work. actually what you can't do is fundraise but what you can do is make a phone call
Starting point is 00:14:51 so you know you know if you want to get involved help American democracy anyways that was a long tangent but I do think that that's something we should do too we should figure out maybe for Christmas time we'll figure out a way to do like a drive for the homeless all right let's end with this
Starting point is 00:15:06 fat bear week has concluded and there's been a winner a fat bear week no I'm not going to make a gay joke I'm not. Let's watch. Wow. Dora.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Oh, my. The backpack. And we're going to find out why that is the perfect song for Jenna's morning. Yes, it is. Okay, because, guys, after seven days of fierce competition, we officially have a fat bear week winner. The big bear taking home. The top prize, here he is.
Starting point is 00:15:35 He's number 89, also known as backpack, backpack. The competition is based in Alaska's Catmite National Park and Reserve, where 16 bears battle it out for the fan vote. Park officials say backpack is known for his quiet toughness and his pacifist nature. He's also a familiar face to die-hard fat bear weak fans because his mom... Is that him? Is that fat back back? No, backpack. Don't call him fat back.
Starting point is 00:16:01 He's the fatest. Well, they're all fat, but he's pleasingly flat. His mother, let's not shame these bears. His mom was a former winner, so he is an Enappo baby bear. Backpacked a stiff competition, including his final faceoff against Bear 910. It came down to the wire with backpack securing just 5,000 more votes. And guys, fun fact, backpack got his nickname because park officials used to spot him as a cub frequently clinging to his mother's back. That's cute.
Starting point is 00:16:34 But it feels like it's all here. Cute, cute. Don't like that you're a Nepo baby backpack. Okay. You know, he's got a leg up. He's got a leg up. Congratulations to the fat bear. You know, I'm not a fat bear anymore.
Starting point is 00:16:46 You know, I've been going, I'm working out, baby. I've been working out like crazy. Okay, I've been doing CrossFit nonstop. Watch out. Watch out. The shirtless selfies are coming, okay? I got hot for the fall in the winter. I did it backwards.
Starting point is 00:17:02 But no, I'm not going to be a fat bear. Nope, nope, but I'm glad this baby bear is. All right, well, that was good news Friday. Let me know if you liked the video.
