Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm actually in shock right now. I'm in shock. I was going to, I just sat down to do a totally different kind of video and then multiple news stories dropped it once. And I knew that I had to talk to you about it because we have to, it's primary season. We have to reimagine this Democratic Party if we, one, want to win elections and two, want to change America. And this all has to do with Donald Trump and Hakeem Jeffries. Let's start with Donald Trump. Donald Trump did this earlier today. On his blog, he announced that for years, the Biden administration weaponized the justice system
Starting point is 00:00:46 against their political opponents. And anyone who disagreed with them, one of the clearest examples of this was when Crooked Joe used the FBI and DOJ to take out a member of his own party after a highly respected congressman, Henry Quayar, bravely spoke out against border open, borders and the Biden border catastrophe, Sleepy Joe, one after the congressman, even the congressman's wonderful wife, Emelda, simply for speaking in the truth. By the way, none of that is true. None of that true. I'm just going to skip over all the other fucking propaganda, but he said, because of these facts and others, I hereby announcing my full and unconditional pardon of beloved Texas
Starting point is 00:01:25 congressman, Henry Quayar, and his wife. Henry, I don't know you, but you can sleep well tonight. your nightmare is finally over. Okay, let's just talk about a little bit about what Henry actually has been accused of doing. Now, there was supposed to be a trial in April of 2026. I guess we just don't do fucking trials anymore. Bad people who do bad things in this current moment in America just don't get consequences if Donald Trump likes you. Okay. What's even more upsetting isn't even what.
Starting point is 00:02:01 this man did. It's our party's response, the democratic response. But first, let's just look at this. This is what this man did. Federal prosecutors alleged that Kueh are and his wife accepted approximately $600,000 in bribes in exchange for using his position in Congress to influence U.S. policy and legislation. Prosecutors alleged that Kauaiar took money from Azerbaijan's state-owned oil and gas company, the payments were reportedly disguised as consulting fees for his wife, paid through shell companies, what he allegedly did in return. He attempted to influence U.S. foreign policy to favor Azerbaijan, inserted specific language into the legislative committee reports that benefited Azerbaijan. Interests. He advocated for Azerbaijan. So you get it. He got
Starting point is 00:02:49 $600,000 from a country given to his wife for consulting. Like what, like, I just, like, what Would a congressman, why should U.S. Congressman be consulting with a state-owned company, regardless, that was caught? There was also a Mexican bank scheme where Quayar was accused of taking bribes from a commercial bank headquartered in Mexico City. These payments were also allegedly funneled through sham contracts to his wife. So they were money laundering, getting bribes, and in return, they were passing or supporting legislation that would help the companies. that were giving them money. Okay? That is who Donald Trump pardoned. Not the worst person he's pardoned, but that's who he's pardoned. Now, what I cannot believe is the response Hakeem Jeffreys had multiple responses.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Here's the first one. He said what Donald Trump did was right. This was the right outcome. This is Democratic Congressman Henry Quayar and his wife who were charged with bribery. What's your response? Well, Congressman Coyar is a beloved member of the House of Representatives, loved in his community, particularly in Laredo. I've had the opportunity to spend time with him down in Laredo in South Texas. I look forward to that moving forward. Listen, the reality is this indictment was very thin to begin with, in my view. The charges were eventually going to be dismissed, if not at the trial court level by the Supreme Court, as they've repeatedly done in instances just like this.
Starting point is 00:04:25 So, so just to follow up on that, do you agree with the president's part in here? Do you think that that was a good thing then? I don't know why the president decided to do this. I think the outcome was exactly the right outcome. Well, insane. Insane. If it is true that these are, as he says, very thin charges, then let it go through the system of justice that we have in this country. instead of a president who rules by fiat. This is not the way to hand out justice to people. The only reason why he did this was because Donald Trump saw him as an ally in Texas, and he's hoping he can get political favor. That's not even the worst part.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Hakeem Jeffries was also asked that if he was worried if Donald Trump was going to try to get him to become a Republican. You had any conversations with the congressman about him potentially switching to the Republican Party? I think Congressman Quayar is a highly valued member of the House Democratic Caucus, and I expect that he'll continue to remain a highly valued member of the House Democratic Caucus. So someone accused by Biden's Justice Department of $600,000 in bribes to then allegedly change their position on laws and regulations in this company is a valued member. of the Democratic Caucus. I actually, when I heard that, I could not believe my... Like, I just need to check in with all of you. Am I losing my mind?
Starting point is 00:05:58 Am I losing my mind? Why would Democratic leadership decide to back a Trump pardon? Why would Democratic leadership decide to back someone with all of these accusations? Now, certainly, if he's innocent, then he should prove it in court. And we will never know.
Starting point is 00:06:16 because that was taken away from us. His ability to actually clear himself of these charges and our ability to actually know what really happened. Because if there isn't a trial, we won't know. We won't know. Now it's his word against the governments. No trial, no evidence. Absolutely absurd.
Starting point is 00:06:36 And I just got to point out too that Hakeem Jeffries spent all summer into the fall begrudgingly eventually getting to endorse Zoran Mamdani. Hakeem Jeffreys has no problem backing this or Trump's unlawful
Starting point is 00:06:56 and I get this so they're not all lawful, but Trump's immoral actions. But he can't back a rising Democratic star. I just do not understand it. And I just got to end with this because Jeffreys also said that he does not expect them to pursue
Starting point is 00:07:11 impeachment of Pete Hecker's because he feels like it doesn't matter because they won't be brought to the floor and we know that the Senate will not vote to impeach. That's fine for now, but what if we're in power? I just don't understand this. This unilateral disarmament. I just, like, whatever happened to just fighting for things, whatever happened to fighting for things. I guess someone who backs someone who has bribery charges for using the position for political and financial gain probably doesn't have fight in them. And here's what I want to go back to my first point. We cannot win if we remain a party that is only slightly less immoral than the Republican Party.
Starting point is 00:08:00 One of the biggest critiques of both parties is that both parties are essentially the same. Now, I'm close enough to this shit to know that that's not true. But broadly speaking, when things like this happen, I understand that critique. Because what happened to demanding justice regardless of party? What happened to letting things play out regardless of party? What happened to defending people in our party who win rather than siding of the Republicans and their baseless attacks?
Starting point is 00:08:35 We've got to have a huge shakeup. We've got to have a huge shakeup. We need fighters. We knew people who are willing to say what is right and what is wrong, regardless of who it hurts, and we cannot keep going on like this. We can't. We can't. I don't want to be associated with a party that's the less bad version of the Republicans. I want to be a party that is the better version of America. That's what I want.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Pay me that's still too naive in the sky. But unlike Jeffries, I'm going to point to a star in the sky. and I'm gonna shoot to reaching it instead of saying it's not possible. I believe it's possible to create a party that actually reflects our morals as Americans and as Democrats. This shit is not it. Nope. Uh-uh. Not not not doing it.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Not doing it. Ooh, I'm pissed off. Okay. Well, thanks for watching. Let me know how you feel and I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
