What is that saying called taco?
Taco.
Trump always chickens out.
I think there's some truth to that.
Donald Trump on True Social posted that he no longer feels a need to go after Greenland.
After one conversation with NATO's secretary.
I swear to God.
I swear to God.
And Fox News is trying to spin this.
I have that coming up for you.
Al Gore.
Al Gore, what's you doing?
What's how Gore doing in the news?
But he's in the news and he fucking slammed Donald Trump.
He like bitch slapped him verbally.
I want to bring your attention to this though.
Because Donald Trump, he is a chicken,
but he is someone who will do anything to remain in power.
Before we get to that, I want to point out I am in L.A.
And there is a hotel that I'm staying at right now.
Obviously, this is not my house.
It's not my studio.
And there is banging.
My hope is that you will not hear it.
But there is banging for some reason.
First, let us watch Donald Trump saying that sometimes you need a dictator.
We had a good speech. We've got great reviews. I can't believe it. We got good reviews in that speech.
Usually they say he's a horrible dictator type person. I'm a dictator. But sometimes you need a dictator.
But they didn't say that in this case. And no, it's common sense. It's all based on common sense.
It's not conservative or liberal or anything else. It's mostly, let's say 95% common sense.
No, you actually never need a dictator, ever.
In fact, dictators only make things good for the people who are in power, and for everyone else, life tends to suck.
Democracy is one of the greatest human inventions in human history and has been the vessel for much, if not all, of human progress.
Thank you. Now, Donald Trump said this, based upon a very very,
Productive meeting that I have made with the Secretary General NATO, Mark Rut,
we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic region.
This solution, if consummated, will be on one of the great ones for the United States of America and all NATO nations.
Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st.
Additional discussions are being held concerning the Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland.
Further information will be made available as,
discussions progress. Vice President, Jadivand, Secretary of State and Marco Rubio, special
envoiced Steve Ritchkoff, and various others as needed will be responsible for the negotiations.
They will report directly to me. Thank you for attention to this matter. Donald Trump,
President of the United States of America. Yeah, so I don't know what they did. I mean,
I don't know if they gave him a medal or something gold, a gold trinket. I don't know what they did,
but they did something and suddenly now Donald Trump no longer needs Greenland. Isn't that funny?
At what cost? At what cost?
So you're telling me that Donald Trump alienated all of our allies.
We saw Mark Carney give a speech saying that there is a new world order and that the United States cannot be trusted.
We've seen other European allies echo those statements.
We have begun to witness the reorganization of democratic countries away from America.
And for what?
We didn't even get Greenland.
Not that I wanted it.
But he made this huge problem and didn't even get the thing he wanted out of it.
He got, what does that say here?
A framework of a future deal?
Was that worth everything that we've lost?
No.
No.
And to be clear, I don't trust any of this.
I don't trust any of this.
I think Donald Trump was appeased.
I think they gave him some sort of like FIFA World Peace Prize.
And this will pacify him.
It's a pacifier for the baby for a moment, but we all know that soon enough Donald Trump will have someone in his ear telling him this isn't good enough and he looks weak and he's going to start to make noise again.
But for the moment, it appears that Donald Trump has backed off and markets have rallied over it.
Here's what Congressman McGovern had to say.
Congressman, real quick, is Donald Trump's mental health concern for you after some of the things that he's been saying in Europe?
Well, he said a lot of crazy shit today at Davos.
I think it's time to take the keys away from Grandpa.
I like that we're starting to call him Grandpa.
It makes me feel good.
Al Gore had equally damaging things to say about the president, and here it is in full.
Yeah, well, thank you so much for standing, obviously, outside the room.
And I would love to know what you thought of the president's speech,
given you were obviously a very prominent U.S. policymaker.
And what did you make of hearing it from the U.S. perspective, given so many of the European friends that are in the room?
Well, I think it was a classic.
Trump performance. I would hate to be the fact checker that had to go through that speech.
But I think there was one element of the speech that I would interpret it as a positive.
I think perhaps because of the stock market's reaction yesterday, he appeared to back down
from his previous threat to use military force to acquire Greenland. And if I'm interpreting
that correctly, I think that's a good thing. It was, of course, crazy that he would do such
thing in the first place, but I think he backed down and that's good.
So you directly tie him making the clearest statement yet that the United States is not going
to use military force to take Greenland.
You think that's because of what happened in the stock market yesterday.
Oh, I can only speculate.
I can't.
I don't know what's inside his mind.
It would be quite something if I could see inside his mind.
But many people have speculated that the bond market and the stock market really have a lot
of influence on him.
And when it goes down almost 900 points and people do.
who interpret it as a sell America trade, that may well have been the reason he backed down.
It may have also been that a lot of people who are close to him, who are more tethered to reality,
convinced him that he had made a mistake.
And can I get your take on what the president had to say about essentially when Denmark was
being occupied by Nazi Germany and the United States was putting military bases on Greenland?
He was essentially arguing that the United States has a right to Greenland.
Is that how you see it as a former vice president?
No, not at all.
You know, when the United States was attacked on 9-11,
Denmark immediately responded as part of NATO
and had more per capita casualties than any other member of NATO
defending the United States against an attack.
NATO has been a tremendous foreign policy achievement for the United States
as our effort to build up other alliances to establish the rule of law, a rules-based order.
All of that has benefited the United States enormously.
And to try to take a wrecking ball to these alliances, the way he took a wrecking ball to the east wing,
is literally insane.
Insane.
Also, how old is Al Gore?
How, like, he was in power 30 years ago.
Is he the same age or younger than Donald Trump?
I'm sick of having old presidents.
That is besides the point.
But to my earlier point about how Donald Trump took a wrecking ball to NATO and the trust of our allies for absolutely no reason.
Here's Donald Trump talking about his framework.
Does it still include the United States having ownership of Greenland like you've said you wanted?
It's a long-term deal.
It's the ultimate long-term deal.
And I think it puts everybody in a really good position, especially as it pertains to security and minerals and everything else.
How long is it, Mr. President?
How long would the deal be, Mr. President?
Infinite.
Infinite.
Infinite.
The way Fox News frame this is Europe's pointless temper tantrum.
Absolutely not.
Al Gore had a good point.
The only reason why Trump backed down is probably because the stock market freaked out.
And that's the only thing he listens to because that means his buddies were freaking out.
And so Donald Trump finally got it into his little skull.
that what he wanted was actually going to hurt him and his friends.
Well, I guess good for now, but I don't, this is like, I don't know.
We're only one year into this shit.
Not great.
