Woo! Woo!
It's Liberation Day in America.
And it's my birthday.
This is the best freaking birthday present ever.
As you may have heard, if you may not have heard,
and I'm so happy if I'm the one to break the good news to you.
The Supreme Court ruled two things today.
One, that we still have a constitution.
And two, that Donald Trump's tariffs are legal.
Oh, baby.
When I was walking into a meeting earlier and I got the news,
like, oh my God, oh my God. And now we have learned that Donald Trump was having a great day
until he got the news. I've got that reporting for you. I'm going to just give you a little
bit of insight into what people are saying. And I'm just going to gloat. I'm going to gloat.
Because, ha ha, ha, you motherfucking bitch, you are not king. You are a president. And presidents have to
abide by laws. And let this be the first strike in what will be.
a huge war against the corruption, the lawlessness, and the fraud happening in this country,
led by those who are most powerful.
We still have laws in this country.
And this is the first example that just because you're doing it doesn't mean it's legal.
And we're coming for you.
We're coming for you.
Now, Justice Kavanaugh said that the terrorist issue here may or may not be wise policy,
but as a matter of text history and precedent,
they're clearly lawful.
He said that in his dissent.
Okay, loser.
Loser.
Now, as I said, Donald Trump was giving this,
was holding a breakfast until he got the news.
Yeah, Pamela, we still have no official reaction
from the White House or President Trump.
We are waiting.
I am told that they are meeting, discussing how they are going to respond.
But we have learned more about what happened in the room
when President Trump was with those governors
and he learned of the Supreme Court decision.
Apparently, the breakfast had been going well.
They were working together.
And then President Trump became enraged.
He started ranting about the decision, not only calling it a disgrace, but started attacking
the courts at one point saying these effing courts, but using the actual language there, we know
that President Trump does use expletives on quite often when he is enraged in particular.
Now, this, of course, comes as this tariff policy, this could not be a bigger decision for
President Trump.
This could not be a bigger loss for President Trump.
Not only is so much of his economic agenda based on these tariffs, so much of his foreign
policy is based on these tariffs.
He has used these tariffs as leverage in almost every meeting that he has had around the
world.
He has touted them as the most important part of the economic agenda.
So clearly a huge loss and he recognizes that today.
That's so true.
I mean, I have, I mean, I guess I'm still processing this.
But that's so true that Donald Trump likes to throw around.
the tariff weapon as if it's something that he can wield against anyone who does something he doesn't
like. He even said to McCrone, like, we're going to make wine costs even more money. And so, yeah,
I mean, he has lost a huge point of leverage when dealing with world leaders, which is good. This is
good. This is all good stuff. This is going to a little bit more about what happened here.
It's a 6-3 decision that centers on tariffs imposed under an emergency power laws, including
the sweeping reciprocal tariffs he levied on nearly every other country.
It's the first piece of Trump's broad agenda to come squarely before the nation's highest court,
which he helped shape with the appointments of three conservative jurors in his first term.
Mike Pence, Mike Pence decided to dig into Trump and said,
Today's 6'3 ruling by the Supreme Court is a victory for the American people and a win for the separation of powers enshrined at the Constitution of the United States.
He's like literally stabbing Trump as he says this.
In learning resources, Inc. versus Trump, our Supreme Court has reaffirmed the Constitution grants Congress, not the president.
The power to tax.
The American families and American businesses pay American tariffs, not foreign countries.
With this decision, American families and businesses can breathe a sigh of relief.
I'm proud of the work our organization American Freedom has done on this case through our robust amicus brief and blah, blah, blah.
and then he says
America can now return to the pursuit of
free trade with free nations
of the Constitution of the United States
American flag emoji
this is what Gorsuch
Gorsuch wrote
he said for those who think it is important
for the nation to impose more tariffs
I understand that today's decision
will be disappointing
all I can offer them is that
most major decisions affecting the rights
and responsibilities of the American people
including the duty to pay taxes and tariffs
are funneled through the legislative process for a reason.
Yes.
Legislating can be hard and take time, and yes, it can be tempting to bypass Congress when some pressing problem arises.
But the deliberative nature of the legislative process was the whole point of its design.
Through that process, the nation can tap the combined wisdom of the people's elected representatives.
That's a little generous.
Combined wisdom of our representatives.
Not just that of one faction or man.
there deliberation tempers impulse and compromise hammers disagreements into workable solutions
and because laws must earn such broad support to survive the legislative process,
they tend to endure allowing ordinary people to plan their lives in ways they cannot
when the rules shift from day to day.
In all, that's actually a good point.
In all, the legislative process helps ensure each of us has a stake in the laws that govern us
and then in the nation's future.
For some today, the weight of those virtues is apparent for other.
it may not seem so obvious.
But if history is any guide,
the tables will turn and the day will come
on those disappointed by today's result.
We'll appreciate that legislative process
for the bulwark of Liberty, it is.
We're just doing a live watch
of Trump's true social feed.
I don't think he has.
Nope, still hasn't posted it.
He is going to do a whopper.
It's going to be a top-tier post.
It's going to be,
10 pages long.
He is going to be so pissed, so pissed.
Who is not pissed?
Who is not pissed?
A sign of people who are not pissed.
I can't speak.
I'm in too good of a mood.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up because it turns out maybe today is Liberation
Day.
We're liberated from a tyrant, Donald Trump.
Rand Paul said in defense of our republic,
the Supreme Court struck down using emergency
powers to enact taxes.
The ruling will prevent
future presidents such as
aOC from using
emergency powers to enact socialism.
I like that he's talking
about a future aOC president.
Thank you for the optimism.
Tim Poole,
in this feeling, said
the U.S. is about to get utterly
obliterated on trade negotiations.
SCOTUS has stripped all leverage
from the Trump administration. Good.
Good. And
Caitlin
Collins is reporting that
President Trump commented on the
Supreme Court ruling striking down his
terrace while inside the White House breakfast
and called it a disgrace.
And apparently that wasn't the only word
he used as we heard earlier. All right.
Gavin Newsom said this. Issued an immediate
refund to all Americans for your legal tax now.
Yes. Yes.
I want to know where that money
went. They collected all this
tax money. Where to go?
Who has it? What account is it
in? It needs to be
given back to all this.
Figure it out.
Figure it out.
That's not our problem.
That's your problem now.
I want a refund.
I want a refund on my money.
I want a refund on every single dollar
incentive I spent that was illegally
taxed against me and my fellow Americans.
Give me back my effing money.
Please.
And thank you.
It's a great day.
It's a great day.
Could I say it's a great day to be an American?
Maybe.
Maybe.
Bye.
