Trump is in his feelings. He is pissed off and he is now attacking not only Jimmy Kimmel,
but he said that he said that the six Democrats who gave a message to the military that they should be executed.
I have responses from some of those Democrats. I have those messages and I have some thoughts about it.
First, this is what Donald Trump said to Jimmy Kimmel yesterday. He said,
why does ABC fake news keep Kimmel a man with no talent and very?
poor television ratings on the air. Why do the TV syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased
coverage. Get the bum off the air. Okay. Well, this is, I mean, I personally think this is just a
distraction. We're still going to talk about it, but we're not going to dwell on it because what Donald
Trump wants us to not talk about are the fact that the Epstein files are being released. So I think
kind of all of this is one big distraction. Until Donald Trump is putting people on trial,
I'm not really too worried about it, but it is still chilling that the President of the United States has decided to act this way.
Now, before we get to the responses here, I do want to first show you what the senators posted that got a huge upward.
Now, if you don't know, Fox News and much of the right-wing media ecosystem has been freaking out over this simple message to the military.
And here it is.
Senator Alyssa Slotkin.
Senator Mark Kelly.
Representative Chris Delusio.
Congressman Maggie Goodlander.
Representative Chrissy Houlihan.
Congressman Jason Crow.
I was a captain in the United States Navy.
Former CIA officer.
Former Navy.
Former paratrooper and Army Ranger.
Former Intelligence Officer.
Former Air Force.
We want to speak directly to members of the military
and the intelligence community
who take risks each day to keep Americans safe.
We know you are under enormous stress and pressure right now.
Americans trust their military.
But that trust is at risk.
This administration,
administration is pitting our uniform military and intelligence community professionals
against American citizens.
Like us, you all swore an oath.
To protect and defend this Constitution.
Right now, the threats to our Constitution aren't just coming from abroad, but from right here at home.
Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders.
You can refuse illegal orders.
You must refuse illegal orders.
No one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our Constitution.
We know this is hard.
And that it's a difficult time to be a public servant.
But whether you're serving in the CIA, the Army, or Navy, the Air Force, your vigilance is critical.
And know that we have your back.
Because now, more than ever, the American people need you.
We need you to stand up for our laws.
Our Constitution and who we are as Americans.
Don't give up.
Don't give up.
Don't give up.
Don't give up the ship.
All right.
I mean, to me, that's pretty, pretty makes sense, first off, that you, you, you, you,
The military truly cannot follow illegal orders.
They take an oath to the Constitution, not to the president.
I think in this era we find ourselves, and I think it's good they get a reminder, for sure.
And one way or another, Donald Trump is not going to be power forever.
And if these members of the military do something illegal, they're the ones who are going to get in trouble.
So I think it's good that they did that reminder.
Now, Donald Trump freaked the fuck out over this.
He freaked out.
I mean, he's like a little baby.
He was reposting on his blog, True Social.
First off, he said, seditious behavior, punishable by death, like, give me a break.
Okay.
And then he also said, this is really bad and dangerous to our country.
Their words could not be allowed to stand.
Seditious behavior from traders, lock them up, President D.J.T.
And then he retweeted a bunch of people saying things like indict them all.
someone else said hang them George Washington would and I am a little like first I just I think there are
two ways you can respond to this which is I think what a lot of people want to do is they want to act like
the president of the United States is a rational human being and that this is a person who's
thinking rationally that is not the case I mean I think you could get upset about this I choose to
just see this as an old man who realizes that he is falling apart. His mind is turning into dust
and he is losing control, not only his mind, but his bodily functions, if reporting is accurate.
So I think he's just lashing out. He's lashing out because he has, he is losing control of himself
and his party. And this is one way he's doing it. I kind of, I'm like not, I just don't
feel upset by it. I just think it as someone who's obviously losing in this moment. This is not
someone who's acting from a place of strength. Now, Alyssa Slotkin responded to this moments ago,
and here's what she had to say. I'm Senator Alyssa Slotkin, senator from Michigan,
former CIA officer. Earlier today, President Trump threatened myself and a number of other
service and veteran lawmakers with arrest, trial, and death, because he didn't agree with a video we put
out this week. This really isn't about those of us who made the video. This is about who we are as
Americans and how we're going to engage with people who we disagree with. I would hope that people
of all backgrounds, Democrat, Republican, Independent would agree that threatening death for people
you disagree with is beyond the pale of who we are as Americans.
I love this country. It has given me everything, everything.
And I refuse to believe that this is the new normal.
I refuse to believe that we're going to use fear and intimidation against people we disagree with.
And I'm not going to be forced away from speaking up on behalf of my country.
I swore an oath to the Constitution many times, most recently, less than a year ago as a senator.
To the Constitution, not to any one man, not to any one president,
any one president. And I abide by that oath. For me, I believe in the power of this country
and that we are better than our current politics represent. And I refuse to be intimidated out
of defending the country I love.
That's a good statement. It's a good statement. I think that was good for her to say that
like that. We also had, we also had, I believe, Jason Crowe, who got pushed on this by
Fox News and he kind of handed her something.
Martha, we're standing by our troops, our service members who are often put in very difficult
positions and Donald Trump has put them in very difficult positions and has alluded
to putting them in even more difficult positions in the months and years ahead.
So we are reminding folks about what the Uniform Code of Military Justice says, what the Constitution
says, what the law of war says.
This is really no different than what I did with my.
infantry platoon in advance of deploying to rock in 2003 i trained these young soldiers on
their obligation to comply with the law of war to comply with the constitution and what is a lawful
versus a law unlawful order and mike johnson was actually asked about this and he did what this
old louisiana queen always does is he ran away with the quickness
Speaker, how you doing?
The president posted that Democrats who urge service members to not follow illegal orders,
it should be seditious conspiracy and punishable by death.
You're any response to that?
Look, I know the DOJ and the Pentagon are looking into the legality of all that,
but what I can address is what everybody knows.
That was wildly inappropriate.
It is very dangerous.
You have leading members of Congress telling truth.
to disobey orders.
I think that's unprecedented in American history.
And as the father of a young man who is, you know,
at the Naval Academy going to be joining the service,
I know young soldiers, airmen, sailors,
they don't need that kind of nonsense from people in Congress.
It is very dangerous.
At a very dangerous time, I don't you want to buy that.
I'm going to let others define what it is, but it's wild.
Oh my God, what a little bitch.
Now, I guess I have a question for you.
Did this video really seem to you like they were saying anything other than saying,
hey, they were just saying, just FYI, you're not allowed to follow legal orders.
I kind of think it's good to have a reminder.
Now, they weren't saying you're not allowed to follow orders.
They're just saying you're not allowed to follow illegal orders.
You're supposed to follow the Constitution.
I think it's a good reminder.
And the fact that it made everyone else kind of pissed off makes me feel like they were
doing the right thing okay now caroline levit is the middle of a press conference i'm going to bring
that to you in just a moment and where she is being asked about the stuff and much more so please
do stay tuned for that wanted to bring that to you now try this new thing where we have a react
screen and this let me know what you think for these new for these breaking news um moments
let me know if you like that and i will see you soon bye
