You don't want it.
You don't need it.
But you're going to get it anyway.
The Kevin Cheehan Show.
Here's Kevin.
And number five is a big reason why.
It's Daniels.
On first down.
Huge game for Daniels.
Chunks of yards for Daniels.
A double dose.
47-yard run on the first play from scrimmage.
I'm 99.9% sure that that's the play he was injured on.
You may know it already.
by the time you listen to this podcast.
I'm recording this podcast moments after the 40 to 7 blowout over Carolina.
But I think that first play from scrimmage offensively, the 47-yard read-option keeper where he was tackled,
you know, a bit awkwardly.
I think that's where he injured his rib or ribs.
I thought so in the moment that he had gotten hurt.
I actually thought maybe it was that he had banged his head on that tackle.
but then he started to hold his rib area.
In fact, I just went back and looked at the plays that followed,
and I'll have the sequence for you coming up.
But it's pretty much proof that that was the play that he was injured on.

This is going to be a quick recap show,
just moments after the 33-point wind.
over the Panthers. The 33 point win, the largest margin of victory for the team in nine years. In
2015, they beat the Saints, 47 to 14. That too was a 33 point win. Washington moves to 5 and 2,
the best record they've had through seven games in six years. They are the leading scoring team
in the league averaging just over 31 points per game. They have the largest point difference.
of any team in the league right now at plus 66 points.
They are an elite offensive football team.
There is no doubt about it.
Even the loss of Jaden Daniels to a rib injury did not slow this offense down.
Losing MVP caliber quarterback?
No problem.
Marcus Marietta is here.
He was outstanding in relief.
What a luxury they have in Marioita.
even though, let's be honest, most of us weren't really sure if they had anything remotely resembling
a luxury in Marcus Mariotta as the backup quarterback.
Not that we want to test that luxury beyond today, but still what a day he had.
So the news on Jaden, let's go chronologically here.
During the game, Jeremy Fowler from ESPN tweeted out,
source when asked about Jaden Daniel's rib x-ray, he's good.
Jaden's mom tweeted out during the game, quote, he's fine, hashtag HTTTC.
Dan Quinn just spoke in his post-game presser.
He said he does not have an update on Jaden's injury as of now.
They'll have to wait until tomorrow when there is further testing.
He also could not give the specific play in which Jaden got hurt, but I'm pretty sure that it was that first play.
Look, breath was held when he left the game, especially when he slammed his helmet on the ground after he tried to throw a few balls on the sideline before that next drive.
He was in pain. He didn't come back. Of course, they didn't need him to come back.
You know, in the past, this would probably be something that wouldn't turn out well.
You know, it's just right in the past, this would be something that we would be just waiting for the bad news.
But things are different now.
Let's hope this injury turns out to be not very serious.
That would be the guess.
If it is a rib injury, he's injured his ribs before.
I'll tell you about that here in a moment.
but there's a chance even with a rib injury he could be ready to play against Chicago,
depending on the seriousness.
Jaden getting hurt look is a thing, right?
Because this is what everybody's number one concern was beyond what many people thought
was legitimate concerns like, you know, pressure to sack percentage,
and he can't throw over the middle and he refuses to throw over the middle
and he's not very accurate throwing over the middle, et cetera.
For me, it's always been his frame.
He had some injuries at LSU.
You know, he was concussed on a cheap shot against Alabama last November.
He had a high ankle sprain at the end of the 2022 season, which kept him out of most of that SEC title game that year.
And he did hurt his ribs in a game against Missouri on a touchdown run that got called back.
He left the game briefly, but came back in and led them to a comeback win.
He's got a frame that looks vulnerable.
But he is not really played recklessly or irresponsibly, you know, this year.
He hasn't, which a lot of people worried about.
He's done a good job of protecting himself so far.
That play was on the verge of being a lot more than just a 47-yard run.
But, you know, as he started to cut it back, number 21 reached out and got a hand on his leg
that slowed him down and made him stumble just a bit.
and that allowed for number 32 to kind of catch him from behind and get him to the ground
with some help from another player.
And that tackle sent him head over feet.
He got up a bit slowly after that, and I thought it was maybe, you know, a head injury or a concussion.
And then, you know, let me give you the next sequence of plays, right?
The very next play, he hands the ball off to Echler on another would appear to be read-option play.
but he left it, Neckler's gutton.
After he handed the ball off, you can see him take his left hand and put it on his rib area,
indicating that he was hurting.
Then a few plays later, it's a third and one handoff to Robinson Jr.
Easy first down.
He put his hand on his stomach and rib area again.
And then the next play, a first in 10, it was another handoff.
And this time you could see, you could really see him, you know,
left hand holding and kind of rubbing his ribs. He was hurting. And then the next play, he keeps it on a
read-option run and clearly does not want to be hit on a seven-yard run. And you see him go down
very quickly, very gently. And yet, a couple of plays later, it's second goal, and he keeps it
on a read-option play again, this time for about a minus one-yard carry. He avoided a direct shot on
that, but he gets up. He's holding his rib area again. And then on third goal, you know,
he did not, I don't think, read out the defense there. He unloads the ball quickly to Echler and the
flat. And Echler gets hit and tackled short of the goal line. They ended up kicking the field
goal for a 10-0 lead. But that was, you know, he didn't want to take a shot hanging in there in
the pocket and reading the entire field on that play. So there were obvious indications.
after that first play that he was hurting in that rib, you know, area.
So we'll see.
We'll wait until tomorrow unless something breaks tonight.
But let's keep our fingers crossed because Mario D'Ota played great.
He did.
But Marcus Marioita is not Jaden Daniels.
And they have a chance to do something special this year primarily because of number five.
So fingers crossed.
meantime, as mentioned, the offense amazingly did not skip a beat.
Probably says a lot about Cliff Kingsbury, doesn't it?
By the way, also says a lot about the Panthers.
They're terrible.
You know, Washington is 5 and 2, and they are a good team.
They are a very good, high-level offensive football team.
But let's not overlook, you know, the fact that they've played the Panthers.
The Panthers are the second or third worst team in the league awful on defense.
Cleveland, one of the two or three worst teams in the league, actually awful on offense, not bad on defense.
Two other wins were against the Giants who can't score, but they're good on defense,
and the Cardinals who aren't very good at all on either side of the ball.
But they did beat Cincinnati in a very memorable Monday night game,
and the Bengals, I do believe, are good.
and they hung in there with maybe the best team in the league, the Ravens.
Five and two feels so much better in 2024 than it did in 2018.
I never, ever was inspired by that Alex Smith five and two team that started off in a way that we hadn't seen in a while, although 2016 was a team that started off pretty quickly.
This team, after losing their star rookie quarterback, still dominated.
and we're unstoppable on offense.
That inspires a lot.
That was a next man up.
We are in for something much bigger
than just hoping that our starting quarterback stays upright,
which, by the way, we're all hoping.
All right, I've got a game take coming up,
and then I'm expecting to have a guest from the locker room,
probably just for five minutes tops.
They've told me, you know, keep it to five minutes or so.
But we're hopefully going to talk to somebody from the locker room in the last segment.

what I liked, what I didn't like, and then a few other observations were apparently going to get
Ben Sennett who caught his first ball and it was a touchdown. His first catch of the year was a
touchdown that gave Washington a 34 to nothing lead early in the third quarter. So we will try
to get through this game take quickly, get Ben Sennett, and then get out of here and I'll be back tomorrow.
with another podcast very late in the day.
All right, what I liked.
I'm going to start with the offense.
All right, let's preface everything we say about the team offensively
with Carolina's horrendous on defense.
They were horrendous on defense coming in,
and they were no match for anybody playing quarterback for Washington today,
in part because the game plan was to run it down the Panthers' throat
from the start of the game until the end of the game,
which is pretty much what they did,
and they had a heavy emphasis with Jaden on that very first play, on that very first drive,
and then again with Marcus Mariotta on read-option presentations.
You know, the quarterback was a part of the run game today.
That read-option look with Jaden or Marcus is somewhat unfair because both guys are
excellent ball handlers and decision-makers as read-option quarterbacks.
It's 11-on-11 in the run game, and it's really hard when you have.
that kind of quarterback, that true dual threat quarterback, who is very good at decision-making
and ball handling, as in, you know, really being able to handle the ball, being able to ride that
mesh out a little bit until that, you know, end or outside linebacker commits like they did
on that first play from scrimmage. They're just great. The rushing game was dominant. Brian Robinson
feasted, you know, all the running backs feasted, the quarterbacks feasted. Four hundred and twenty-one
yards total, 214 yards rushing, 5.8 yards per rush. They had 26 first downs. They were 5 for 10 on
third down. No fourth down attempts today, so they couldn't continue their stretch of not getting
stopped on fourth down. They dominated time of possession, 35 minutes to 25 minutes. They threw
the ball today effectively as well, but they really didn't need to throw it at all, except at the end of the
first at the end of the first half when they went 92 yards in the final two minutes and 22 seconds
of the half more on that coming up in a second or a couple of seconds anyway. This was dominance at
the line of scrimmage. Dominance by the skill position players, dominance by the offensive line,
dominance by the coordinator who had a good plan coming in and knew it would work with nearly any
mobile quarterback that could be presented as a legit run threat. Nine possessions today.
Eight scores on the day. Offensively, it was really seven scores on eight possessions.
The last possession, you don't really count that because they just ran the clock out on their final
possession. They punted one time. This team just barely punts. Elite offense right now. Elite.
Number two on the list, I loved the end of the first half drive. Okay, they're already in firm
control of the football game, you know, up 20 to nothing. But they get the ball back, terrible
field position, their own eight-yard line with two minutes and 22 seconds left. It didn't matter.
They are always on the attack here. This team doesn't treat third and 15 as check down or
draw. This team doesn't, you know, treat the end of the first half conservatively, not with the
offense they have. They shouldn't. There's no reason to treat it conservatively.
You know, they ran Brian Robinson for three yards right before the two-minute warning.
They did not care that they had Marcus Mariotta in the game.
Third and three, they get the neutral zone infraction, which was big, but I think they were going for it anyway.
And then, you know, Marioita gets a defensive holding.
Then he finds Ertz for seven.
He finds Terry for 18.
He goes back to Terry for 15.
They call their second time out of the first half with 39.
seconds left. He throws incomplete to Zekees, and then he finds Diami Brown for 23 yards, and then it's
first and 10 at the Carolina 12, and he finds Zach Ertz in the end zone for a touchdown.
92-yard drive, eight plays, two minutes, and 12 seconds. Impressive, up 20-0 against a team that
wasn't going to win the game unless you handed it to them. At your own eight-yard line, did not
matter. I love that they just kept the same game plan when Marcus Marioada came in. Look, one of the
reasons for signing a guy like Marioota, when you knew you were going to take Daniels, is that
they're very similar stylistically. And they have a lot more confidence in Marcus Marioita than
most of our fans. Look, the last time Marioita played legitimately, you know, Atlanta during, you know,
the quarterback season, 2022, he played pretty well until they went with Desmond Ritter at the
end of the year when they started to get, you know, sort of fall out of contention. He didn't play poorly.
But, you know, he's not Jaden Daniels. And I think a lot of fans were disappointed that that was
the signing, but he's a great leader. You saw last week when Derek Henry, I don't know if you
guys have seen the video of Derek Henry coming up to Marcus Mario at the end of the game. They
played together in Tennessee. He was so excited to see Marcus Mario da Gave him the longest hug,
almost jumped into his arms at the end of the game. Marcus Mariotta highly respected.
Jadens referred to him several times, especially during the off season as a guy who's really
mentored him. They liked him as a quarterback that could play stylistically the same. They
wouldn't have to deviate if he came into the game. And they loved him as a mentor. He was
outstanding on that drive. I loved that drive at the end of the first half. 27-0. The game was
already over for all intents and purposes, but Cliff Kingsbury's treating these games like
their big 12 games, like the opponent could score, you know, 35 unanswered in a quarter. More on
that coming up. Love the end of the first half. Specifically on offense, offensive line dominant
in the run game as they've been pretty much all year long. They really have been. Brian Robinson,
Jr. back and he looked great. Robinson, hold on, I'm pulling up the numbers right now.
Final numbers, 12 carry, 71 yards, 5.9 yards per carry. One touchdown as well, pretty much a walk-in.
Look, he's benefiting from the quarterback being a run threat. Any offense that has the
quarterback as a legit read-option run threat is going to benefit. Play action benefits from it as well.
We started seeing this 12 years ago, and the teams that really have quarterbacks that keep it, you know, they don't have to keep it every time, but they keep it two or three times. You have to respect that. Robinson Jr. is a good runner, even without it, but he's really benefiting from that.
You know, Echler, four carries 17 yards. You know, Jeremy McNichols, he can really run, love him. They clearly knew a lot more than any of us did. I thought he was just, you know, a guy who would be.
been in a league for a while. Seven carries, 42 yards. Jaden had the 47 yards on one carry,
had 50 total. Mariotta ran 11 times, combination of some read option runs and some scrambles,
some good scrambles, 11 carries 34 yards. I think he may have been running a bit too much
there when they were up 37 to nothing. More on that coming up. Terry McClorn,
outstanding again. Right there for his guy, Marioita, when he came in. Terry,
such a friendly receiver. Six catches, 98 yards on six targets in the game. What else did I have here
on the things that I liked list? Love that they didn't approach, they didn't change the approach
when Marioada came in the game. I can't tell you that for sure, but I think the game plan with
Marioita was the same game plan they were running with Jaden. They were going to use the quarterback
in the run game. They were going to try to run it down Carolina's throat, and they would pick
and choose their spots to throw the football. They were going to be aggressive with some up-tempo.
They were up-tempoing, going quick huddle, you know, snapping the ball with 20 seconds, 18 seconds
left on the play clock when they were up 37 to nothing. So they did not change the approach.
I think that says they got a lot of confidence in Marcus. Turnover margin plus two. And obviously
it started with that incredible, you know, it was very,
really just a terrible play by Andy Dalton. Third and nine, and he throws it right to Fowler.
Now, there's good pressure on that play by Farrell in particular that gets him, you know, a little
hurried. I mean, I'm not saying it was all on Dalton. There was some pressure there. And look,
Fowler Jr.'s got to make the catch. And then he returns at 67 yards for a touchdown.
Huge play. And then Dalton throws another interception. And guess who caught it?
Emmanuel Forbes. I thought that play was going to be overturned, but they had an ineligible
on offense, and then there was just an illegal block on the return, I think by Farrell. But a confidence
boost. It was thrown right to him. It would have sucked had he dropped it. But Forbes picked it off,
and Washington was in business again. Ironically, that was the only drive that didn't produce
points or run out the clock at the end. They punted on that drive.
after the interception.
And that's primarily because they ended up with a penalty after that interception.
They ended up with a false start on Eertz.
Penalties were an issue.
We'll get to that in a moment.
But yeah, plus two in the turnover margin.
That's always good.
And now they've got, you know, six takeaways on the season.
Still near the bottom of the league, but two is pretty good.
also on the things that I liked list.
The defense, you got to say the defense on a day in which the other team only scores
seven points and they're late in the game against reserves.
You know, they were actually getting moved on during that opening drive of the game
before the Dalton blunder, which was, you know, there's some pressure there.
But, you know, you saw on that first drive, I was worried about the ability to run the football,
the ability to be creative, the ability for Dalton to work off of that.
And there they were, opening drive.
Washington deferred the toss.
I actually thought they would take the ball.
You know, Dalton play action on first down seven-yard pickup.
Hubbard for four moves the sticks.
Fly sweep to Miles Sanders for 26 yards.
Hubbard rips off a seven-yard run.
Then they go play action, and Deontay Johnson's open for 17 yards.
And, you know, in five plays, they're at the Washington, 27 yards.
six yard line on that opening drive.
And then there was an incomplete pass, and then on a second and ten, Washington's Farrell
got a big stop on Hubbard.
And then the pick six, and then it was kind of over.
There was no more real offense to speak to in terms of Carolina.
That was really their best drive until the game got out of hand.
They ended up with 95 yards rushing.
Hubbard was 3.1 yards per carry.
Look, the score got sideways, and when that happened, sometimes a lot of that stuff that they were planning on doing get shelved.
But defensively, there were some performances that stood out, right?
So after the first drive, they shut down the run.
They got pressure on Dalton pretty consistently during the game.
He was sacked two times.
And I'm going to guess, because I don't see the final stats defensively here,
but I'm going to guess they had some pretty good pressure on him throughout the day.
Look, Fowler Jr. and Louvre stood out more than anybody else today.
Louvoo stands out every day.
Louvue chased down Dalton on a sack.
Louvue got an incredible quick start off of a defensive end.
I actually thought it was nearly neutral zone infraction.
He is their best defensive player.
I'm not even sure it's close.
Love Wagner, Fowler Jr. had himself a day.
Farrell had some moments today as well. I thought Sanra still was excellent all day. Really reads
defenses like he anticipates very well, tackles fearlessly. I thought, yes, I do like him. I thought
Duran sort of made his presence felt there a little bit. I thought the tackling was good all day
defensively. I'm sure I'm missing some people and missing some things and maybe I'll get to those
tomorrow and I've got more time to kind of digest it. But let me just give you this one kind of
big takeaway in the defense. Really good day. Always is when you hold a team to seven points and a
33 point win, right? I'm not any less concerned after today about the defense than I was
before today. I love how hard they play. I love that Quinn and Witt Jr., I think,
understand they've got some personnel limitations, but they're getting their guys to fly around.
They are getting their guys to tackle. As I mentioned, Louvue's the real deal. He's their best
defensive player. Wagner's having a good season. Fowler Jr. had a great day. He's had a couple of other
moments when he's been healthy. Farrell, too. I love Sanra Still's motor and fearlessness. I like
Kwan Martin. There are some things in players on the defense that I like, but it hasn't really come together.
and I would just point out that the two best defensive performances
and the only two legitimately good defensive performances start to finish
were against a terrible Cleveland offense
and in a game today that pretty much got out of control super early,
which made the Panthers in chase mode, in one-dimensional mode,
and they're not a good team doing that.
I'm still concerned, but I also remember
you know, that Baltimore last week, they're not facing another Baltimore.
They don't have a ton of explosive, versatile offenses on their schedule the rest of the way.
So that's good.
You know, the teams that they have to beat to win the division, to get to the playoffs as a wild card,
you know, nothing really stands out.
Now, if they make it to the playoffs, I think they will.
Detroit, Green Bay, San Francisco, different story.
And if you're thinking about those games down the road, you are still thinking about potential additions defensively at the trade deadline.
Special teams had a good day. Cyber again, four for four on the day. I thought kick coverage outstanding. Knickles and Reeves stood out. Reves had a big hit on a kickoff. They forced a fumble on a kickoff, right? They forced a fumble. That was the one that
it wasn't a fumble.
It looked like a fumble.
He challenged it and lost the challenge.
Where was that?
Whatever.
That was on the kickoff, right?
I think that was on a kickoff.
Yeah.
He was down.
I thought the knee was down when the ball started to move.
Quinn challenged it upheld.
But they're kicking, just so you know,
I think everybody understands this.
They want Cybert to kick into that landing zone.
They love their coverage units.
They really think they have some excellent players on special teams.
I think they do.
I think they do.
All right.
What didn't I like?
Well, the injury to Daniels, fingers crossed.
Number two, too many penalties today.
Part of that is with the backup quarterback, you had some false starts.
You know, timing gets a little bit, you know, knocked around a little bit.
But eight penalties, 55 yards, not great.
Three for six in the red zone, you'd like to see them do a little bit better there.
I think penalties impacted that to a certain degree.
And then the last thing on, you know, how much can there really be on a list of things you don't like after a 40 to 7 win?
I loved that they didn't deviate from the game plan.
I loved that they kept going for it with Marioata at the end of the first half,
even with a big lead. I love that they came out and they played the third quarter like it was still
a competitive game. And they took a 37 to nothing lead. But when we got into the fourth quarter
with a 37 to nothing lead or even then a 37 to 7 lead, I don't think they should have run any more
read option plays. Or I think they should have told the quarterback, I don't care what the read is.
Give it to your running back. I don't think they should have dropped him back. He got hit a couple
of times on read options. He got hit a couple of times after he hung in there, scrambled,
made plays, scrambled got tackled, scrambled through, and then got hit after the throw. Whether
it's him or Jaden, it doesn't matter. When you're up 30, it's like that Tampa game in the fourth
quarter when they were down 37, 14, and he's running zone read keepers, and he's getting pummeled
at the goal line. I don't think, I think at some point, you know, you can't, it's not college. It's not
12, you don't have to worry that Texas Tech's going to light you up for four touchdowns in three
minutes. This is the NFL. A 33-point lead is game over. A 37-point lead, it was 37-0. It's
over with a quarter to go. That's not, that is, you know, you should go to a running clock.
If they were really interested in preserving the health of these players, you know, 30-to-nothing
going into the fourth quarter should be a running clock scenario,
because no one's ever coming back in the NFL from 30 to nothing down in the fourth quarter.
And Cliff, bless his heart, man.
He's still out there slinging it.
Still out there slinging it.
When they got the ball back and they ran the clock out on those final four plays,
it was before the two-minute warning,
I was half expecting to see a play action bomb.
So that's a small knit to pick, but especially given that Marcus had played so well.
Look, did I include Marcus Mariotta on the list of things that I liked?
If I didn't, did I?
Or didn't I?
I don't think I did, because I didn't tell you he was 18 of 23 for 205 yards, two touchdowns, 8.9 yards per attempt, a 132.8 passer rating.
He also ran the ball for 34 yards.
I want to see what he was on third down passing.
I'll have that for you tomorrow,
but he was outstanding on third down passing,
some of it third and medium to third and long.
I mean, Marcus Mario,
Mario, after that first drive in the game,
was an A in the game.
All right, a couple of other quick observations,
and then we will get Bennett Senate on.
Okay.
Let me just go through this.
list quickly.
God, Lou Vu's good. I just have so many notes of Louvo.
He really can play.
What an addition, and that was, of course, against his former team.
There was a really nice play.
Carolina had two plays that I made note of.
One was the guy that did a really nice job of keeping the punt from going into the end zone.
Was that at the end of the first half?
I think it was, and didn't matter.
Washington went 92 yards after that.
And then, yeah, it was.
That was the play right before the 92-yard drive.
And then they tried, they had a fake punt on a fourth and four ready to go,
but they had delay a game, but you could see the punter was going to run it.
And Washington may have been ready for that anyway.
Oh, I just made this note about Mario, I could have included this in the Marioada notes.
and that is he's excellent at extending the play and keeping his eyes down the field.
I've always felt like at times in Marcus Mariotis's career, too casual a quarterback will turn it over.
He'll make a bad throw.
He'll get knocked from behind because he's not really paying attention,
and the ball will get knocked loose, and he'll fumble.
He's really good at extending and creating off schedule.
You know, these guys had very similar college careers.
Jaden's more explosive than I think Marcus ever was.
I think he's got a much more accurate arm.
I think he's quicker in his processing and his release.
Trust me.
But he really was impressive.
And I know a lot of people after that first drive were like,
this could be terrible now.
If they have to play him against Chicago,
I bet he'll play well.
Better defensive team, for sure.
Chicago, a lot better defensively.
All right. Oh, I was just going to mention, too, Chuba Hubbard, no matter what he ended up with, he didn't end up with a lot today. He's a hell of a back man. You can just see it. 17 to 52 started off quickly. Miles Sanders is a good back, too. They actually have some players.
Bryce Young came into the game at the very end, but they didn't put him in in the second half down 27-0. Interesting, right?
All right. Ben Sinit next after these words from a few of our sponsors.

Faked Mario de Rosa, caught by Sinit.
Touchdown.
The first of his NFL career.
rookie out of Kansas State.
Ben Sinit's first catch of his NFL career is a touchdown from Marcus Mario to early
third quarter this evening.
It gave Washington a 34 to nothing lead.
Ben is joining us right now from the locker room following the team's 40 to 7 win over
the Panthers.
You had another catch that's two total.
I know they've called plays for you in previous games, but.
how good did it feel to not only get your first NFL career catch, but have it be a touchdown?
Man, that feels amazing.
It's been a definitely a journey, so just to get that first one and be able to be out there with my guy celebrating.
I mean, it meant everything.
It was super cool.
I mean, even getting a catch, man, and it being a touchdown for my first one ever,
it was a pretty surreal feeling, and some that I've definitely been dreaming about.
Tell me about the play.
What was the play call? It looked like a little boot action and a throw to you.
Was that the number one read right there or not?
Oh, yeah. That was the only one, man.
No matter what, he was forced to throw it.
So I was lucky to be there and catch it when my opportunity came.
What do you have to do on a play like that?
As fans, we know what that boot, you know, throw to the tight end looks like,
but just walk us through, you know, kind of your responsibilities on that play.
Yeah, I mean, it's just something you set up with a run game,
given consistent looks in the run game,
sets up passes in the same way.
So, I mean, just being able to run the ball on the same look,
and then being able to just switch up and throw a pass out of it,
is just kind of what we like to do.
And it was a good call.
And, yeah.
You have to sell run, though, at the beginning of that, right?
Yeah, for sure.
Gotcha.
That's the key part of it.
Yeah.
How many texts on your phone have so far?
Who was the first?
Man, I don't even know.
I haven't even looked, to be honest.
You have a lot.
I'll definitely, I looked and there's a lot.
I don't know how many or who is the first one, but it was pretty blown up.
All right.
Do you have any idea how Jaden's doing?
This is, you know, right after the game ended.
Quinn just said that they'll have to wait until tomorrow.
with further evaluation, but just curious if you have any sense how he's doing.
Yeah, I haven't heard anything as well.
How did he see him on the sideline?
Spirits were high. That's all I know.
All right. When he went out and Marcus came in,
did anything change game plan-wise?
No, not at all. We got full trust in Marcus and kept the game plan pretty consistent.
Just split him right in and we're running the same place.
You were running the same plays.
Nothing changed with him in the game.
It was the same thing.
It looked like you guys really planned on running the football today.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
You see the teams that have beat him in the past,
and I mean, they needed to establish the run,
and that was definitely a big part of our game plan,
no matter who is back there.
Did some of the work that you got with Marcus earlier training camp preseason,
do you think that came into play
when he came into the game that you guys had some chemistry already?
Yeah, 100%.
I mean, I think it always does.
Going through OTAs, going through camp,
going through even during the season.
He was the one who actually ran to the sideline and said to call it.
So just having that faith in me and that trust is pretty cool,
and I definitely own one.
You guys are right now, as of now,
the leading scoring team in the NFL.
You lead the league in points per drive.
you barely punt as a team this year. You have the biggest point differential in the league right now
through seven games. How confident are you guys offensively and why is everything working?
Yeah, very confident. I mean, you get a bunch of guys who love each other and are playing hard
and for each other. It opens up a lot of stuff. And I think just we're very confident because
we see it in practice and we get the reps and we complete the passes.
and do everything we need to do in practice.
We go all out every day,
and I think it just gives us so much confidence going into the game.
And I don't think we care who we're going against.
We're just kind of focused on what we're doing
and just continue to attack that process every day.
How fun is it being in an offense with Cliff Kingsbury?
It's awesome.
I mean, he does so much and has so much faith in all of us.
So it's been a pretty cool experience,
and I'm just excited to see what we can do.
What are you going to do to celebrate tonight?
Man, I'm going to go hang out with my family.
They're in town for the game.
So we'll probably go get dinner and stuff and celebrate.
So it should be a good time.
Well, congratulations.
That's awesome that you got your first two in a touchdown.
And not only that, it came in an absolute dominant win over Carolina.
Best of luck against Chicago next week, Ben.
Thanks for joining me.
Yeah, thank you so much.
Ben Sinit, everybody.
his first NFL catch, a touchdown catch. Good for him. I appreciate him making time for me. I know that they were getting ready to bolt the locker room, thanks to the commanders, PR people as well. One last thing before we leave you for the evening. The Eagles beat the Giants in the other NFC East action today. The Cowboys had a buy week. They beat him 28 to 3. They rushed for 269 yards against that giant defense. 176
for Sequin Barclay in his first game against his former team.
The Eagles go to four and two, so they're a half game behind Washington and the NFC East.
The first of the two Eagle meetings, November 14th, Thursday night football at The Link.
Washington gets Chicago on Sunday, this coming Sunday, 425.
Here's the early point spread.
Washington is a one and a half point favorite over the beach.
Bears. Plenty of time to talk about that one. Plenty of time to talk about the one that just
concluded. And of course, all fingers crossed and all attention goes towards Jaden Daniels'
rib injury. We may know more before tomorrow's show. I'm assuming we'll know more by
tomorrow's show, but you may know more before you even listen to this podcast. Look for reports.
Usually somebody will have something, a Schefter or a Rappaport or a Fowler. Somebody more
likely a national person will get some sort of update, although Quinn did indicate that there is
further, you know, a further look into the injury needs to take place tomorrow. So we'll see
what happens on that front. Need him healthy. That is for sure. All right, that's it. Back tomorrow.
