Starting point is 00:00:02 You don't want it. You don't need it, but you're going to get it anyway. The Kevin Cheehan Show. He is Kevin. Tommy's here. He's actually right here sitting in front of me in studio. Look at you. Where are you on the way?
Starting point is 00:00:18 What do you need? Is that why you're here? No, I don't need anything. But I'm just wondering, do you pay your electric bill? You pay your light bill? That's interesting. You notice the lights are not off. Yes.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Yeah. I do know it's because it's dark in here. Well, it's not dark. I mean, we have some light coming in from the window. Yes. I actually keep the lights off unless it's dark outside. Okay. And the reason I do that is these fluorescent lights in this studio, they can occasionally trigger, like, I get migraines.
Starting point is 00:00:54 I've told you this before. I know. And they can occasionally trigger a migraine. And I found that the natural sunlight that comes in through this. window with the lights off is plenty of light for me. So you got some kind of chuck thing going on from Better Call Saul. Yes, no, but I don't have the foil. I'm not wrapped in aluminum foil.
Starting point is 00:01:16 But no, it's definitely, there are certain rooms that light doesn't bother me at all, but these lights, they sometimes bother me. But nobody cares about that. Well, I came in because I'm a little concerned about you. I'm hearing things. Yeah. No, I want to know why you're here. You need something, don't you? No. Yeah, uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:01:35 No. When we get done, you're going to say, hey, do you got a minute? No. And you know what I'm going to say? No, not today. I don't need anything from you today. It just made sense because I'm going to be on my way to teaching tonight my class downtown at the Georgetown Sim program. Right. So I figured I might as well stop here and do the podcast in person. You know what? It's always nice to have you in here. Usually when you come in, we'll get lunch. Are you going to ask me to go to lunch when we get done? I got no time. I got to hit the road.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Okay. Maybe I'm a busy guy. Well, I was going to, because I'm offering to buy you lunch. Well, I'll take a range check. Now that I know you can't stick around. What's on the docket for class tonight? We've got two speakers, two guest speakers. Did you arrange for them?
Starting point is 00:02:24 No, I did not. My co-host, my co-host, my co-instructor. Right. arranged for those. Marty? No, not Marty. I teach the course now with Bobby Goldwater. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Used to be the executive director of the D.C. Sports Commission. Used to run Madison Square Garden, started the Staples Center. Really? And all that? He's my co-instructor. Okay. So who are the guests, do you know? You'll find out when you get there.
Starting point is 00:02:50 You'll find out maybe, as will the rest of the world, when they speak. You don't know who they are? I know who they are. Of course I know who they are. You do? Yes. So you're prepared to teach the class? Am I prepared?
Starting point is 00:03:02 Yeah. I'll catch up here at the last minute. I mean, when you, you're teaching at Georgetown, you're teaching this class. Business of sports media. Business of sports media. 10 years now. But you're more like a co-instructor. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I have exactly a co-instructor. Yes. Okay. I mean, they have the program set up so you can bring in people with professional experience. Right. to be co-instructors with the typical instructors. You didn't put the syllabus together
Starting point is 00:03:33 for the students. You don't put the test together for them. Do they have tests, quizzes? Yes, they have quizzes. Okay. Yes. How do you know I don't do any of that? I'm guessing you don't do any of that. Because you're just operating under the premise that I don't do anything.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Oh, I mean, I've known you for a lot. Based on your experience. It's based on personal experience. All right. All right. You going to the game Sunday? I am going to the game Sunday, absolutely. I'm very interested in the crowd mix for this game.
Starting point is 00:04:08 This is the first game of the year. Now, you were at the Chicago game, too, and I know that there were a lot of Chicago fans. Yeah, but it wasn't, it didn't seem like you were playing in Soldier Field. Right. Okay, that's really the key. That's true. And obviously, you know, games against the Panthers and,
Starting point is 00:04:27 the Browns and the Giants early in the year. They were not good measures. No, they weren't good measures. This will be a good measure. Yeah. Now, it also may be, along with when they play the Eagles later in the year, and the cow, look, they play the Cowboys on November 24th. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Dak Prescott has like a hamstring injury where the hamstring apparently tore off the bone. Whatever that means, it does not sound great. So they're having a terrible season, so it may be the fewest cowboy fans we've ever seen for a matchup. But the reason I bring it up is the Steelers fans travel better than any, I think, in the NFL, number one. Number two, it's three and a half hours away. They have taken over the stadium before. Fortunately, they don't play Pittsburgh at home every year. But when they have played Pittsburgh at home, it's been a complete take. I was on the field at the end of that when they took over the entire lower bowl of the game. That couple years ago, a Monday night game,
Starting point is 00:05:26 Well, that was the game in 2008, the Zorn first year, which was the year that they started six and two. Yes. And they had back-to-back night games. One was a Sunday night and one was a Monday night game. I think the Cowboys were, I think, the Sunday night and Pittsburgh was the Monday night game. And it was a true road game. I mean, Washington, it was the beginning of, whoa. What just happened?
Starting point is 00:05:58 Because we really had not experienced it at that point. And it just, Doc and I were, it was 2008. You and I had not started. We started the next year doing the show together. And Doc and I were doing the show together, and we came in the next day, and we kept talking about how, you know, that's a tough environment to play in Three Rivers. Because I think it was called Three Rivers back then. And that it was, you know, tough to beat a good Steeler team. team on the road. And so we
Starting point is 00:06:28 did that throughout the show and people were calling in saying, do you guys realize the game was at home? And we just kept saying, no, no, no, no. You're thinking, no, that last night's game. It was in Pittsburgh. You know, and it went on for a while. And they did
Starting point is 00:06:44 get their ass kicked. Yes. In that game. And then I remember being on the field and just looking all around. The terrible towns. I mean, it's just, it was a stunning moment. It was. That was, I really think that that was the beginning of, you know, road fans had traveled to games prior to the 2000s.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Washington did it all the time. And you know what? They still do it. Yes. And so, but for our stadium, that was the first, I think, complete takeover that I can remember. Because remember, that's the year after Gibbs. Right. You know, so we didn't see that during Gibbs.
Starting point is 00:07:26 No, you didn't see that during Gibbs, and it was a complete takeover, and then it progressively got worse, obviously, during the years. But they also played the Steelers. They opened up with the Steelers on Monday Night Football in 2016. And remember, they were coming off a playoff year Washington was in 2015, and that was not nearly as bad, and I remember that. But the reason I bring it up is the Steelers are going to be there. I don't know if it'll be a complete...
Starting point is 00:07:53 The Steelers are playing good. They're playing as well as they've played in a while offensively. But I also think that this could be 2004 the beginning of the end of all of that. You know, they sell a lot of these tickets once the schedule comes out. So Pittsburgh fans and probably Eagle fans and cowboy fans bought up a lot of the tickets for the games in Washington in Landover. But starting next year, you're going to have a much bigger season ticket base, number one, than they've had in a long time. There's no doubt about that. I would imagine they're already adding to their season ticket base as this season's gone along.
Starting point is 00:08:37 But if they go, and we'll get to this during the show, let's just say they go 12 and 5, which, by the way, is almost hard to imagine at this point because that means they would just go 4 and 4 the rest of the way. No, that's not true, 5 and 3, the rest of the way. 12 and 5 and they win a playoff game or two. They're going to have a much bigger season ticket base. They're probably not going to expand the stadium. They shouldn't. They should, you know, for next year anyway.
Starting point is 00:09:03 The idea is to make your space so in demand. Yeah. Not to accommodate other people. No, no, they're not going to expand the stadium. And so the tickets available to the outside, you know, the opponent's teams will be fewer. I think they're already trying to do things with the aftermarket, you know, based on zip code and all that stuff. And those things can be done. They can be done.
Starting point is 00:09:28 And so Sunday may be the final true takeover. I don't know, Philly will be here late in the season. And Philly is... That could be for the division title. And Dallas, you know, will be here on November 24th, but they may be looking to sell their tickets now. And don't forget, Kirk is coming. coming back. I know, but there'll be a lot of people there for her.
Starting point is 00:09:52 No, there won't be. No, there won't be. Not even you? No, no, no, no. As much as I want him to succeed, that game could be for seating. You know, it could be a big stakes game. There's no time set for that, is there yet? I don't think there is.
Starting point is 00:10:12 The last, so the last two weeks of the season, they play Atlanta at home and they play Dallas on the road. Right. If I haven't said this already, Washington's one of the five games on December 29th designated as movable to the day before. And they'll have a triple header on Saturday, December 28th. And it wouldn't surprise me if that is one of those big primetime games Washington has left. I think the Eagles game could be a primetime game. There are a lot of other spots that are not necessarily flexible.
Starting point is 00:10:43 but Eagles, Falcons back to back the 22nd, and then maybe the 28th that Saturday at night. Look for that as a possibility. But Sunday's a big football game. I mean, we're now in the second half of the season. You're 7 and 2 trying to get to 8 and 2. I know it's an AFC matchup, and if you said they're going to split the next two,
Starting point is 00:11:07 of course you take the Philadelphia game on the road. But Pittsburgh's playing well. Russell Wilson is a quarterback. who you now can tell that they wanted to play him. Whether it was Tomlin or Arthur Smith, even when they were winning games early in the season with Justin Fields, they wouldn't commit to him as the starter for the season. And maybe part of that was strategic, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:34 and not giving out, you know, too much information. And Tomlin's one of those guys. But they wanted to play Russell Wilson. Clearly, Arthur Smith thought we will have more deep ball ability and still have some of the mobility with Russell Wilson. And he's played great the last game and a half. He's played great. And they have, you know, they've got weapons. They just added Mike Williams.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Pickens is really good. Not Jay Harris is on a role. They traded for Preston Smith. They traded for Preston Smith, exactly. So they added another, you know, defender, another pass rusher. They're excellent defensively. They've got, you know, arguably the best defensive player in the NFL and T.J. Watt. Naji Harris is running wild the last few games.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Jalen warns healthy. Cordorale Patterson's back. This team will be able to run the football Sunday. I feel confident that they're going to be able to do that. But can they stop Washington? We'll see. But Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh are a different team, I think, this year than they've been in recent years where it was all about this head coach, man, he just, no matter what they have, he wins.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Tomlin's great, and they figure he never, you know, no losing seasons. But I think they're different. I think they're battling it out with Baltimore for the division. And maybe Cincinnati after tonight. Cincinnati wins a game tonight. They're right back in the picture. You know, it's amazing that almost last year, almost to the day, Cincinnati played on a Thursday night game in Baltimore. Yes. That's when you had your Spanish.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Yes, my Spanish cousin. I wanted to do an NFL game. That's the game that Burrow got hurt and Mark Andrews got hurt. And Mark Andrews got hurt. Same game. It's just kind of remarkable that it would come around and there'd be Cincinnati Thursday night in Baltimore again. The Ravens put on a hell of a nighttime game experience. I've been. I've gone to a Thursday night. I've gone a couple of games at M&T Bank, but the first one I went to was a Browns Ravens game 10 years ago maybe, and it's a great environment.
Starting point is 00:13:43 But back then I was looking for good environments because there wasn't one in Landover. Sunday should be great. One o'clock game doesn't matter. This is going to feel like a big-time heavyweight matchup. So why isn't it a big game for Washington? What do you mean? Why?
Starting point is 00:14:02 Well, because they are battling for... What happens if? they lose? Well, Philadelphia could be in first place at the end of the day. Okay. Philly plays Dallas. So Philly would go to seven and two and Washington would fall to seven and three. And then they play Thursday night. This is a two-game stretch of important football games that they have not had in years, years, and against really good opponents. Steelers are, you know, you're talking about playing a six and two team and probably next Thursday night, a week from tonight, a seven-and-two team. Yeah. That's a good. That's
Starting point is 00:14:35 Philly game will be huge. And two teams that can flat out run the football and dominate you up front. And that's where Washington's been vulnerable. And Barclay particularly has field days against Washington over the years. He's incredible right now. Yeah, he is. What a season he's having. I mean, and Philly, Philly's legit.
Starting point is 00:14:58 I just think their coach is a total, I mean, a total food. They got a lot of talent. Huh? They got a lot of talent. They got more talent than Washington all around. But you know who they don't have? Jaden Daniels. That's right.
Starting point is 00:15:10 They don't have him. That's right. Our favorite player. All right. The sun. He's the sun. Everything else is a planet that revolves around him. He's Otis Redding.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Yes. Singing what? Dry little tenderness. There you go. Dry little tenderness. Not a big Otis Redding person, although I recognize the brilliance in the talent. Did you see that Quincy Jones died the other day? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:34 91 years old. I know. He, he, 91 years old, what's he got about 25 kids or something like that? I don't know. One of them is Rashida Jones. I know. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:43 We like her from the office and Parks and Rec. Park and Rec. He was a brilliant producer. Okay. Jim's girlfriend, Pam or Rashida Jones. Karen? Which one? Which was my preference?
Starting point is 00:16:00 I always, I've always liked Pam. I was like, I like, I, no, Pam, definitely. Oh, definitely for me, Pam. Yeah. Pam had everything, a lot of the attributes I like in a woman. Well, we've talked about her before. And we've actually, we've talked about, maybe it wasn't with you. Maybe it was with Denton.
Starting point is 00:16:20 But, um, wasn't with me. We broke, we, we ranked Michael's girlfriends over the years. Oh, the cheater is the, is the hottest. Oh, Donna? Donna. That's the hottest. I think Jan was. No, the cheater is the hottest.
Starting point is 00:16:35 I think Jan was pretty smokeshowish. You know, remember the girl, the woman, his real estate agent that he dated? That's his wife in real life. Yes, that's his wife. I was disgusting at life. But I should know, because you have a Dundee here, so you know your office stuff. You gave me the Dundee. Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:52 You gave me that as a gift. Yes. No, John. You know what's funny? What? You thought I came here to ask you for something, and almost every time I've come here, bring me something. I come bearing gifts.
Starting point is 00:17:02 That's true. That's true. My apologies. Okay. I don't have a gift this time. Jan was one. Donna's probably two. I think Donna's one.
Starting point is 00:17:11 And then he married Holly, of course. Holly, yes. But no, Pam over Karen. Yeah, I agree. But Rashida Jones is beautiful. Yes, she is. All right. I don't know how we got on that.
Starting point is 00:17:29 We were talking about the Steelers game. Steelers game. Of course. Yes. So I have a question for you when we come back, because before the season started, we did a best case, worst case in terms of the record. Do you have any recollection of what you gave me as your best case worst case? No. I know what it is. Really? I kept track of it. So I will tell you what your best case, worst case is. I know what mine was. And now that we are at the halfway mark, we did our revised overall. all last week, but we're going to give a best case, worst case, because the best case now could really be something wild. You could really get carried away with the best case. We'll get to that and more. Tommy's got his Washington-Pittsburg prediction as well. All of that and more coming up right after these words from a few of our sponsors. Hey guys, prize picks is the place to go to for daily fantasy sports. Starting point is 00:22:01 All right, Tommy, tell us about Shelly's. Well, if it's Thursday, it's Shelly's specials day. Okay, these specials are for the week, but I always bring them out here on Thursday to let people know in case they're making plans for the weekend and they want to come downtown and have a great meal, a great drink and a great smoke. You come to Shelly's back room at 1331 F Street, Northwest. in the district. One of their specials this week is the Shelley's Club sandwich, smoked ham, roasted turkey, and bacon
Starting point is 00:22:33 on a butter toasted honeywheat bread with American cheese, lettuce, and tomato with chips. That sounds so good. That sounds really good. That really does. I like their specials. Yes. Yes. And they have the bacon-smoked Gouda burger.
Starting point is 00:22:50 You like Gouda? I love Goud on a burger. Really? Why not? Okay. One half pound of Shelley's custom. them blend, Angus Ground Chuck, beef short ribs, and beef brisket with smoke gutta, sauteed onions, and bacon on a butter toasted roll.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Can you ever go wrong putting bacon on anything? No, absolutely not. Honestly, bacon on anything works. Yes. Anything. I can't think of one thing that I put. Bacon in ice cream? Sure.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Why not? I think so. Why not? So, Shellace does not have bacon and ice cream, but they have bacon on a lot of stuff here. Well, they do have good desserts. In fact, the last two specials, I just told you, they had bacon on both in them. Again.
Starting point is 00:23:33 So come to Shelley's and get your bacon. Find out more at shelley's backroom.com. Don't they have a really good key lime pie? Yes, they do. Really good key lime pie. Yes. All right, Tommy. Time for revising our best case,
Starting point is 00:23:50 best case, worst case records for the season. So my best case, before where the season started was what I gave out, 10 and 7. Okay. Because I went all in on my best case for my season prediction. And you've been rewarded for that. Yeah, although it looks like I'm going to be, I wasn't optimistic enough.
Starting point is 00:24:10 I wasn't out far enough on the limb. My worst case was 7 and 10. Your best case, your predicted record was 6 and 11. Yes. You revise that to 11, 5. and one last week I revised mine at 12 and 5. But your best case before the season was 9 and 8. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Okay. And your worst case was 4 and 13. And remember, your season prediction was that Jaden Daniels wouldn't play the whole season. Where is it again? Hold on. I wrote down all the preseason predictions. Jaden Daniels only starts 12 games. That was your big, bold prediction.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Well, again, I anticipated an offensive line in disarray. And they have totally proved me wrong. Played pretty well. Yes, they have. They have. So now we get to revise our best case, worst case. We did this kind of the other day when you said, I can't find many losses as I'm going through the schedule. You said you went through the rest of the schedule.
Starting point is 00:25:15 At seven and two, they have eight games left. Of the eight games left, five of them are at home. Three of them are on the road. They play at Philadelphia. They play at New Orleans and they play at Dallas. So first of all, schedule-wise, they only have three road games left. They've got five home games left in the final eight. They will be favored the way I see it right now in their final eight games in possibly seven of them.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Worst case, six of them. They're favored Sunday against Pittsburgh. MyBooky right now at mybooky.orgue. a.ag use my promo code, Kevin D.C. And you'll get a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit. They're currently two and a half point favorites. That's been going back and forth between two and a half and three. They are right now an underdog at Philadelphia,
Starting point is 00:26:12 a three-point underdog in the look-ahead line against Philadelphia on Thursday night. I'm checking that at my bookie again. Let me just make sure that. It's the same. Give me a second here, Tom. Okay. Okay. Three and a half right now at my bookie and the look-ahead line.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Okay. So that game, they will be an underdog in. After that, they're not going to be an underdog at home against Dallas. They're not going to be a favorite against Dallas at home, favorite against Tennessee at home, more likely than not a favorite at New Orleans. That team is crumbled. Bobby A Bear was on the show with me. Remember I mentioned his name?
Starting point is 00:26:53 And I called him up and he came on yesterday's show. If you haven't listened to it, he's great. He's really entertaining. Then the Philadelphia game at home could be a game in which they're an underdog. But if the game were played right now, Washington would be a three-point favorite, basically a two and a half to three-point favorite. Because Philly, three-and-a-half-point favorite on Thursday night, they're getting three for home, which means they're a half-point favorite on a neutral field.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Washington would be roughly a two, two and a half point favorite at home. At home, yeah. So then the Falcons at home, they'll be favored. And the Cowboys on the road at the end of the year, I'm guessing, unless they've got nothing to play for. So of the eight games left, right now they'd be favored in seven of them. That's just unbelievable. It really is. So if you just took that and said, well, they're just going to win the games they're favored in
Starting point is 00:27:47 and they're going to lose the games that their underdogs in, you'd have the best case at 15 and, no, at 14 and 3. Okay. Yeah, because eight games, they'd win seven, they've got seven wins right now. Yeah. They'd go seven and one the rest of the way. They'd be 14 and three, Tommy.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Well, I said my worst case would be three and 14. Yeah. My best case now? Wait, your worst case was 4 and 13. Four and 13. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:21 I thought it was three and 14. Okay, four and 13. Okay, go ahead. Continue. My best case is 14 and 3. And then I'm going to tell you what that means. That means that they play in the NFC championship game. And it might be at home against Detroit,
Starting point is 00:28:35 but I'm not going to pick them to go to the Super Bowl. My best case is that they do win seven of their final eight games. That's a best case because of what I just said, five of the eight at home. They'll be favored more. likely than not in seven of them. So 14 and 3, NFC title game at home as a one seed. Detroit's got one loss right now, but they play a brutal schedule the rest of the way. The Lions, in addition to still having Minnesota and Green Bay, although both of those games are at
Starting point is 00:29:06 home. They also play the Texans Sunday night on the road. They play the Bills, and they play the 49ers. Washington 14 and 3 in a one seed, Tommy, and they get to the NFC title. That's my best case. My worst case at this point, I can't even go with my season prediction of 10 and 7. I think the worst case is that they go 500 the rest of the way. By the way, we're taking injuries out of the equation. Of course. Yeah. So four and four would put them at 11 and 6. Okay, that's my worst case. 11 and 6. They're a wild car team and they, you know, they win, they lose a playoff game. That's the worst case.
Starting point is 00:29:51 The worst case right now is 11 and 6. My worst case would be your season prediction. 10 and 7. So 3 and 5 the rest of the way? Yeah. In games in which they're going to be favored in 7 of them. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:06 10 and 7 worst case. What's your best case? My best case would be 13 and 4. 13 and 4. And making it to the NFC title game. Not necessarily, not hosting it. Right. 13 and 4 would require a 6 and 2 finish.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Yeah. That seems reasonable. Yeah. I mean, I'm out there at 14 and 3 saying they'll go 7 and 1 the rest of the way. But I can't, here's the one thing that's really hard for me to envision right now. Any team stopping them and stopping Daniels in the offense from scoring at least 24, 27 plus a game. Their average is 29 right now, right around 29 points a game. I just can't envision somebody.
Starting point is 00:30:53 What's their few? Well, Chicago, they scored 18. They had 12 scored against Chicago. But it wasn't because they were punting. They were driving a few. They couldn't get it in the red zone. And they were bad in the red zone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:06 So what about postseason? So on your worst case, 10 and 7, that would still put them in the postseason. Yes. And that would probably be a wild card game. Do they win the wild card game? or do they lose it? I'm going to give them a win in a wild card game. They'll have to play it on the road.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Yes. I still give him a win. Okay. I think if Jane Danes is healthy, I think he steps up and wins his first playoff. How far do they go in the postseason? Well, it's in the NFC title game. Wow. Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:35 Hey, so we better make arrangements, buddy. You know? For New Orleans? We better start making arrangements, yeah. You know what? If they go to the Super Bowl, we're taking the podcast in New Orleans. All right. Now, listen, you heard that, everybody.
Starting point is 00:31:48 But I, we're going to have to, don't we have to apply for, we haven't had to think about this in decades? Right. Well, what's the last Super Bowl that you went to with the radio station? The last one I went to. Was it New York or Phoenix? Phoenix. What year was that? 7, 2014?
Starting point is 00:32:08 15. San Francisco. Oh, okay. What's San Francisco? Okay. Wasn't that after Phoenix? I forget. My last Super Bowl was New Orleans when the Ravens were there.
Starting point is 00:32:22 Yeah, that's where you told everybody you had played for Notre Dame. Yeah. No, that was in Indianapolis. Oh. Where I told everybody I played for Notre Dame. The last Super Bowl I went to was, yeah, San Francisco. That was 2016. That was Denver, Carolina.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Okay. That was the last one I went to. But you didn't have to. to make arrangements to go? No, because we went with the radio station. Right. Yes. So I don't, look, I mean, the radio station might send me to the Super Bowl if Washington's in it.
Starting point is 00:32:56 They haven't sent anybody, I don't think. Maybe Brian's gone, but I think they didn't, I don't think the station paid for it. I think somebody else picked it up, but that's neither here nor there. We've never been as part of the actual, teams media group. No. No, we never have. And the one drawback, if I could point out, from a personal point of view,
Starting point is 00:33:26 when your team is in the Super Bowl, it's a lot of work. You've got to work a lot harder. No doubt. I'm sure that's true. If your team is not in the Super Bowl and you're covering the Super Bowl, it's a party week. Yeah, because New York and in Scottsdale and Northern California and Miami and New Orleans, those are parties.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Yes. Those are fun weeks. What was the last Super Bowl we went to together? We went to Miami and we went to Dallas. Those were the only two we went to. Because they split us up the rest of the way. They split us up to save money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:03 I went to Indianapolis. I went to New Orleans. You did go to New Orleans. Right. Because you really wanted to go to New Orleans. Oh, yes. And I remember. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:34:14 And it was my turn to go. It was my turn to go. But I also remember that I was coaching and we had like a huge game that weekend. And so I said, you go. Yeah, but that wasn't quite fair. My turn was Indianapolis. I know. You went to Indianapolis.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Now, I mean, that's not quite the same as going to New Orleans. Now, let me just say, we made the most of our time in Indianapolis. I didn't go to Indianapolis. No, you did. No, I made me and Doc. And the rest of us, we made Indianapolis into our own version of New Orleans. I'm just looking back through the years. So the, you weren't with me in Arizona the first time.
Starting point is 00:34:58 No. We weren't together. Was Doc with me? Doc was with me. No, I'll tell you, we did. Yeah, because we went. Miami and Dallas. Because we hung out, all of us hung out in Tempe, you know, that big stretch of bars.
Starting point is 00:35:12 And we were staying there. also hung out in Scottsdale. I didn't go to Tampa, went to Miami. That was the, uh, the snowstorm year when I got back. Yes. Dallas, you and I went to. That was the frozen vol. The frozen whole week. You went to Indy. You went to New Orleans. I went to New York, Arizona again, and then San Francisco. That was the last one I went to. Okay. Um, that was a, that was a fun week too. Oh, God, that was a week in which, no, the week before in Arizona, the station put us, you remember me telling you the story? The station put us basically in a, it wasn't even a hotel.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Oh, how could it be worse than where we were in Dallas? Because basically. In Dallas, they had a cop in the lobby all night. I know, but we stayed there. We ended up staying there the whole week. Yes, we did. In Arizona, when we got to where we were going, Cooley and I pulled up, and we were there before anybody else was.
Starting point is 00:36:15 And I just, I remember texting Chuck and I said, this is a no-go. And he said, why? And I said, well, take your pick, Coke, meth, or crack, because that's what's being sold in the parking lot. We're not staying here. And Cooley and I ended up getting a hotel closer to Radio Row. And then the same thing happened in San Francisco. Not a bad hotel, but they had us an hour away from radio.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Row. And I just said, why would you do this? This is so dumb. The hotel, there's availability two blocks from Radio Row for the same price. So I just booked it for everybody. And we ended up staying there. Well, you know, if we're talking Super Bowl. I know. And the possibility of being there as one of the two teams media bases. We'd have to. If we, if, if, if Washington wound up in the Super Bowl, I'd say there's a good chance the paper would send me. Yeah. I think.
Starting point is 00:37:14 I think the radio station's going to send me. So then we would just do the podcast together that week. And whatever else comes up. What happened? How did this happen? I mean, it's insane. It's November 7th. We've got a football team in this town that is a legitimate contender to go really deep into the postseason.
Starting point is 00:37:39 And of course, they could lose Sunday and lose to Philadelphia in back-to-back weeks, be seven and four. Yes. And, you know, we're talking about, hey, let's just get a wild card and, you know, build it from here. Yeah, you're right. It could be a rough couple, rough five days. It could be, but I feel really. Also, it could be some of the glorious five-day span we've seen it in years. If they beat Pittsburgh and they go to Philadelphia four nights later and weren't nine and two a week
Starting point is 00:38:09 from tomorrow, then of course it's discussion about Super Bowl. Yes. Yes. At that point because... Then the whole league, whoever's not paying attention by then, is paying attention. This next Fortnite could tell the... It's not even a Fortnite.
Starting point is 00:38:25 These next eight days could tell a lot about this football team. Well, I guess it's a good thing they made that trade then, isn't it? Did you like the trade? We talked about it. I love the trade. Apparently, he's not playing Sunday. Lattimore.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Is that, is that definite? That's, that's the scuttle boat I've been hearing on, on talk radio coming in. You didn't hear that on my show? No? No, so you were listening to somebody else's show? I guess I was. No, just for laughs. Come on.
Starting point is 00:38:56 That's funny. Joe Witt Jr. just spoke on Marshawn Latimore. He's a dog. He said that he was impressed that nobody in the locker room. as far as he knows, pouted with the significant addition, possibly changing their role in snaps, credits the culture Quinn created for the team first attitude. There was a lot of reaction from other players
Starting point is 00:39:25 sort of along the lines what I said might happen. It's a signal to the locker room that the team believes in them, that they have an opportunity, and that energizes people. And that seems to be what happened this week. There was a lot of comments out of the locker room along those lines. Did you honestly, I'm looking for it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:50 If I missed it, I missed it. And maybe by the time you guys listen to this, you will know that Marshawn Latimore is not going to play. But I did not know that. Again, I guess I wouldn't take it as gospel. It's practicing today. He is? Yeah, he's out there running around.
Starting point is 00:40:11 And number 23, Chris Rodriguez gave him the number 23. Here's the quote from Chris Rodriguez. He's a vet. I'm not about to sit here and tell him I need to, I need freaking thousands of dollars for a number. I've only been here two years. The end of the day, I'm the same guy. Good for him. Good for him.
Starting point is 00:40:31 Very grounded. Yeah. Yes. He probably also could have gotten a lot of money for selling the 23. Yes. Who knows? Maybe he didn't even want the 23. Oh, okay. So just an hour ago, the report is that he is out at practice, but he's not practicing right now as of, you know, it looks like about 115, 130 Eastern because of the hamstring. Sam 48 tweeted that out. Okay. All right. Well, maybe, look, I think I said that.
Starting point is 00:41:08 on yesterday's podcast that because they play two games and four nights, four days, the preference would be get healthy and we need you against Philadelphia and A.J. Brown. You're right. You're right. You know. Yeah. So, all right. Let's make plans for the Super Bowl, Tommy.
Starting point is 00:41:28 You know where it is this year, buddy. I know, New Orleans. New Orleans. That's what Let me tell you. Listen, if it were in Indy, I'd say, have fun. We made the best in Italy, but New Orleans when we went, and this was the best way somebody described it. You could have made a 30 for 30 out of it. Yeah. It was that good.
Starting point is 00:41:50 You could have made a 30 for 30 out of the New York Super Bowl. All right. Actually, we don't want that 30 for 30 made. That was a week. And the irony of it, it was so cold the entire week, but it did not matter. It did not stop us. Cooley and I were doing the show together, which meant we had to be up pretty early
Starting point is 00:42:11 because the show was an early morning show. And there were at least two or three shows that we went right from where we were. Two radio rode into the show. Yeah, it was quite the week. Fun week. Tommy's prediction. And a little bit on the job that Adam Peters has done
Starting point is 00:42:33 is somebody's written that he is right now the frontrunner for executive of the year. We'll get to that and more after these words from a few of our sponsors. First of all, real quickly. Alex Ovechkin's on a tear right now. Eight goals in 12 games. He had a game winner last night against Nashville.
Starting point is 00:47:51 By the way, the caps are 9 and 3. They're tied for first place in their division. Nobody was expecting them to be this good. It's early. But for Ovechkin, he's now 34 goals away from passing Gretzky. This season is very much in play. Well, based on his current pace, which is a ridiculous pace, because this pace that he's on,
Starting point is 00:48:16 he would end up having his third best season as a goal score with 55 goals. That doesn't, at 39 years old, seem possible. But if he did continue on this pace, he'd actually break the record in early March, game 63 of the 82. More likely than not, towards the end of the season, you get to that last five, six games. That's when he's going to have a legitimate shot right now to pass Gretz. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:43 In the all-time mark. I didn't think it could happen this season. Now I think it's in play. I mean, last year he started off real slow and then came on as the season. And I thought we might see that again, you know, but just the opposite. He's come out at the beginning of his season like gangbusters. And I think it's going to be really great to be because I think I think this record, look, I think this record ranks among, for some reason, among the top recognized and revered records in major sports.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Really? Well, okay. The major league home run record. That's the big. Barry Bonds. Yeah. Well, Hank Aaron. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:29 Whatever. All right. You know, I think after that. Real quickly, before you give me after that, if I had said to you, when you said home run record, if I'd said and been clueless and said, who holds a home run record? Would your answer have been Hank Aaron? No, I would have explained why it's not the guy who had. I'm just wondering if you're so focused on non-steroid users that you would have just immediately
Starting point is 00:49:57 said Hank Aaron and just that you've already completely eliminated Barry Bonds as a possible answer to that question. That would be a non-context answer. I generally don't do that. Sometimes. Okay. All right, go ahead. What comes after the home run? Again, I don't know. I mean, is it the most yardage in pro football? I don't think so. What's that number? Yeah. The most touchdown passes maybe? No. So in basketball, is it the most points scored? I don't think. I don't think. anyone knows that number. Well, you know, Wilts number,
Starting point is 00:50:30 but that's what you know. Yeah, but he doesn't have the most points scored. No, I'm talking about in a game. You have any game, but I mean, career-wise. I think, you know, I'm, so before I look at this list that I'm,
Starting point is 00:50:43 that I'm in the process of typing up, I want to just quickly give you my thoughts. The home run record is number one. Yes. After that, when I think about records, I think about more like Ted Williams' 56 game hitting streak.
Starting point is 00:50:59 No, that's Joe DiMaggio. I mean, DiMaggio is 56 game hitting streak. It's something that will probably never be broken, or nobody's come close. We've had that. I know that. But I'm trying to narrow the focus to career accomplishments, like, you know, a milestone. Who's the all-time leading Russia in NFL history? It's Emmett Smith, right?
Starting point is 00:51:20 It's Emmett Smith. Yes, but we don't know the number. 18,000 something? Really? you know the number? That's impressive. I think it's 18 something, 18,000 something. I could be wrong. You know?
Starting point is 00:51:35 18,355. Okay. Who's the all-time passing leader in touchdowns? It's got to be Tom Brady. It's got to be Brady. But I don't know what the number is. Is it Brady or is it? Or is it Breeze or Manning? No, it's not Breeze.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Breeze has their yardage record then? No. Breeze set a record before the end of his career. But that was a couple years ago, and I think that's since been passed. Passing yards career, Brady, okay? But nobody knows what that number is. I know. Well, do you know what the touchdown number is?
Starting point is 00:52:14 I'm going to say Brady 516? No, you're right. It's Brady, but you're not close on the number. What is it? It's 649. Look at that. But nobody knows that. Drew Breeze actually initially set the record.
Starting point is 00:52:30 And then Brady passed him. Didn't he set it against the Redskins? I don't know if it was the Yardage record or the passing touchdown. He set some kind of record. I think he had, I think he set the yardage record against the Redskins on a Monday night. Monday night game. They stopped the game. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:46 The whole thing. It was very embarrassing for Washington. Yeah, because he definitely set the record because Brady passed him on that. But I think, okay. I don't know if most people know what Gretzky's number was. I didn't. But everybody knew that Wayne Gretzky was the all-time goal scorer. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Okay. But it's not a number that you know. No, it's not a number. But... I mean, I'm going to tell you right now, 715 is the only number I know, and that's Hank Aaron. That's what he... That's not what he ended up with. Right.
Starting point is 00:53:15 That's where he passed Ruth, right? Right. Ruth was... 714. I can't tell you what... I can't tell you what Barry Bond's the number that he passed Hank Aaron on. Well, Hank hit 755, and Barry broke it with 756 and wound up with 762. See?
Starting point is 00:53:32 So, I mean. I'm just trying to figure out where this, I think we're in for something special because I think this is more of a special record than a lot of the other ones are. Okay. I think we've decided that the Gretzky goal scoring record has some significant weight. And for Washington fans to be part of that, I give Ted credit for this, okay? Ted managed to keep Ovechkin here in Washington his entire career. Okay, he didn't.
Starting point is 00:54:07 There are a lot of guys who have set this record throughout their careers who have played in two or three different places. Ovechkins played his entire career in Washington. Right. And that has value. I hear you. I just, I think it's interesting because I don't, I don't, I think that for me, like, the home run record, I don't even know what number two would be. I think it would probably be Jack Nicholas's major.
Starting point is 00:54:40 You know, I know that Nicholas and Tiger's been chasing Nicholas forever. Right. And Jack is 18, right? Yeah, and then, like, Wilt's 100-point game is etched in my memory is something that I know the most points. ever scored in an NBA game. I know, I think I know the most yards. No, I don't. I don't even know the most yards in a game, rushing yards.
Starting point is 00:55:09 It was Walter Payton forever. And then. Walter Payton, a 275. He was 275. It's been broken since that. By the, by, by, um, Jamal, um, uh, uh, Lewis? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:23 Didn't you, doesn't Jamal Lewis have the record? I don't think he has any. More. Most rushing. I think some obscure. Is it Adrian Peterson now? I don't know. Do you know Willie Ellison? Adrian Peterson. Really? 296.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Okay. Yards. Jamal Lewis is, he broke Jamal Lewis's record. Lewis was 295 and I was going to say Corey Dillon was, yeah, Corey Dillon was the one that actually broke Walter Payton's record. Corey, Peyton's record at 275,
Starting point is 00:55:54 Corey Dillon, I mean, that's 23 years after Peyton set the record. Corey Dillon set the record, broke the record, 278. Then Jerome Harrison for the Browns. I do not remember this. 286. I know. Jamal Lewis had 295 in 2000. Okay, Jamal Lewis held the record since 2003.
Starting point is 00:56:17 He broke Corey Dillon's record. And then Adrian Peterson in 2007, 296. and he holds the record. Okay. What about passing yards in a game? It's like, I'm going to guess this. It's like Bob Waterfield or something like that. Five-fifty-one.
Starting point is 00:56:34 I'm going to look that up right now. In a game. Passing yards in a game because Boomer almost got it against Washington in 1996. I think he threw for 527. It was not Bob Waterfield. I think I had the team right. The Rams. Norm Van Brockland.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Oh, okay. 554 is the all-time record. Wow. Bob Waterfield was the Rams, right? I knew it was in the 50s. It was 1951. Norm Van Brockland for the L.A. Rams, 554. 527, all right, is Matt Schaub with the Houston Texans in 2012.
Starting point is 00:57:20 Warren Moon 527. Joe Burrow. threw for 525. Rathesberger 522. Boomer Sison, tied for the fifth most, 522 yards. It was a comeback win over Washington in 1996 when he was the quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. Marino at 521, Stafford 520, golf at 517. You know, these records, these numbers came up recently. You know why?
Starting point is 00:57:46 It's because cousins threw for 500 in that Sunday night game, and they were listing the numbers. point is, I think this number that Ovechkin's going for is significant. I think the record is significant. I don't think the number is significant. The record is significant. The record, and I think we're going to be lucky to be part of it to watch it.
Starting point is 00:58:07 Yeah. I, yes. I mean, to me, in terms of the hockey story, as it relates to Washington, it's not their 9 and 3 record. It's that Ovechkin's on fire. Yeah. And by the way, last night's game winner, in the third period.
Starting point is 00:58:24 The 130th time he has scored a game-winning goal. He's six short of Yager for that record. I mean, that's, you know, not the goal-scoring record. Here's something that was written. The 17 most important records currently. Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak. Who got the closest? Was it Molotar?
Starting point is 00:58:48 Pete Rose, 44? Yeah. What am I thinking of? Paul Molotter. with Milwaukee made a big run at it. Was he like 42 or 43? I don't think he got that close. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:58 Might have been 30. What about Ripkins' consecutive game street? Absolutely. Yeah. Wilts 100, you know, in terms of a record that'll never be broken, Cal Ripkins, Michael Phelps, 18 gold medals. Yeah. This may have been written a few years ago because didn't, what's her face,
Starting point is 00:59:20 top that? She hasn't topped that? No, she hasn't topped that. Barry Bonds, the final number was 762. Right. Okay. Speaking of... Well, hold on.
Starting point is 00:59:30 One other one, because I do know this number. I mean, I'm looking at it now, but I know it because we've been talking about it recently because of Derek Henry. The most single-season rushing yards. Do you know who holds the record? The most single-season rushing yards. Well, it was O.J. for a long time. It was. He was the first one to go over 2000.
Starting point is 00:59:53 and he did it, by the way, in 14 games. Jamal Lewis? Nope. Eric Dickerson's 2,105 yards. I didn't know the number, but recently I knew it was Dickerson. But Derek Henry was on pace to break the record. I think it's come back a little bit now, and he's on pace for a 2,000-yard season, but not to break Dickerson's record.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Man, that's a record that's held. Now, keep in mind, the league became much more of a passing league. Yes. But that record was set in 1984. Speaking of records and significance, this was just released by the Pro Football Hall fame. The gloves worn by Noah Brown when he caught the Hail Mary against the Bears
Starting point is 01:00:44 and the end zone pylon autographed by both Brown and Jaden Daniels are now on display. at the Hall of Fame. So there's a Hall of Fame display there. Okay. At the Pro Football Hall Fame. There have been Hail Mary's completed before. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:03 It's only the seventh time in NFL history that a game-winning touchdown pass of at least 50 yards was completed as time expired. But there have been seven times it's happening. So are the other six? So you want them to take it down? No, I don't want them to take it down. Does it bother you? Are the other six in the Hall of Fame? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:21 I don't think they keep. They change exhibits all the time. You know, they have new exhibits. They take the other stuff on the old exhibits and stick it in the basement somewhere. Is it going to be titled Commanders Win over the Bears? Have you been to the pro football? No, I've told you that before. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:01:40 That's great. I just, we've seen Hail Mary's. A Hail Mary, by the way, is a play that ends the game. But the NFL has existed for how long? A long time. And there have only been seven times when this has happened. that's not significant enough for you? I guess it is.
Starting point is 01:01:55 That's not worthy enough for you? Honestly, I would have guessed that it had happened many more times. Would be in a hallway closet. That would be the size of your museum. That's all I have. I wouldn't be able to fill that closet. Ted Williams is 406, is what I, that's what I was thinking of.
Starting point is 01:02:11 Yeah, more than the DiMaggio hitting streak. Will anybody ever hit 406 in a season? No. I'll tell you what. The records that aren't going to be broken, I think, are Russia. records in the NFL. I don't know. Derek Henry was on pace here for a little.
Starting point is 01:02:26 Wins in the baseball by pitchers wins. Oh, yeah, yeah. That's not going to... Of course. That's not going to come close anymore. Yeah, right. Most of the pitching records are not going to be broken anymore.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Complete games, strikeouts in a season. Because pitchers don't pitch enough. Well, I told you a couple of weeks ago, this is the absolute most unbreakable career record of all time. no one will ever have 81 career interceptions in the NFL. Paul Krause holds that record because they don't, quarterbacks don't throw interceptions like they used to. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:04 All right. Real quickly, before your predictions. So there were a bunch of predictions made on ESPN.com here at the halfway mark. It's kind of the ESPN staff predictions, and I'll see who wrote this one. It may have been John Kine. No, Mike Tannenbaum, former NFL GM, wrote, The Washington Commanders will sweep awards for MVP, coach of the year, and executive of the year.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Jaden Daniels, Dan Quinn, and Adam Peters. That would be quite the trifecta. So, I've, you know, we've been talking about Jaden as an MVP candidate. He's a legitimate MVP candidate. He is. He's like fourth or fifth odds-wise, right? now behind Jackson, Allen, Mahomes is still up there, Burrow, and I'm forgetting who else. I'll look at My Bookie real quickly to give you the MVP odds.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Of that prediction, I think Jane Daniels has the longest odds. Definitely. Yes. Totally agree with that. And Quinn's got the best odds. Quinn is a, Quinn is right now, like, he's minus 180 here at my bookie. I'm sorry, plus 150 at MyBooky to win coach of the year. Andy Reid is next at plus 530.
Starting point is 01:04:28 Wow, Andy Reid. Kevin O'Connell, Dan Campbell, et cetera. But the MVP odds right now at MyBooky, myBooky.orgy.orgia promo code Kevin D.C. Jackson's favorite at plus 270, followed by Josh Allen at plus 275. Mahomes plus 400. Gough at plus 660. and Jaden now is plus 910. So he's the fifth, you know,
Starting point is 01:04:54 uh, favorite, odds favorite at my bookie.ag. Okay. To win the MVP. But I bring this up because in the wake of the Marshawn Latimore trade, which, you know, you like the trade and our conversations prior to the trade deadline really was should they,
Starting point is 01:05:14 will they. I'm glad they thought big. They're in position to think this way. they have enough cap space and enough draft choices. I think they did very well. The guy's injury history is an issue, you know, but I think it's totally worth the swing. But Adam Peters, man, a caller called me today.
Starting point is 01:05:32 I forget who it was. It may have been Kevin from Arlington who calls all the time. And he must have mentioned this to me. Who else in the league right now could even come close to executive of the year? Adam Peters, there are no odds on this. I mean, Washington is the biggest surprise in the league, and they had the most to remake in the offseason. Yes. Nobody had that.
Starting point is 01:05:58 The roster turnover, which I thought would help bury them, has done just the opposite. And it started with the hiring of Dan Quinn. Let's not forget that. Because that may have been ranking the moves of the offseason after Adam Peters was hired, number one was picking Jaden Daniels. That's number one. Number two is hiring Dan Quinn because you not only got a coach who was excellent. You got a coach who is a culture coach and he attracted a great staff.
Starting point is 01:06:32 You have never gotten that staff with Ben Johnson or Mike McDonald or any of the other people. Ben Johnson didn't want to coach. They got their guy. They did. And Dan Quinn. And then their off-season was not. by most people, starting with Quinn. And by the way, there was controversy around Daniels for a while until, you know, the
Starting point is 01:06:54 draft experts kind of came together and said, yeah, he's definitely the number two, clear cut number two, if not, you know, pushing Caleb Williams for one. But when they started to sign players, it was like, oh, one year deal, one year. I could like say, he was shopping at Costco for buyers. Most people, honestly, this is not meant to be disrespectful. it's because he played on a terrible team. But most fans had no idea who Frankie Louvre was. No idea who Louvo was.
Starting point is 01:07:23 Most people thought Bobby Wagner was like 39 years old, you know, and over the hill. You know, and then, you know, you get the Tyler Beaudish signing. Nope. He played for the Cowboys as a center. He's a veteran center. Who cares? But these were key signings. They knew these players.
Starting point is 01:07:40 They knew them well. Like Beaudish played in Dallas. Biotish was a veteran center. They needed a veteran center for a rookie quarterback who they knew they were going to draft. They needed a leader on defense, you know, and they went out and got Bobby Wagner, by the way, off a great season last year. You know, they got Louvre who they signed to a multi-year deal like they did Biotish. And then, you know, you start looking at Echler and Ertz, veteran players, great locker room guys, who clearly had a lot more left in the tank than most fans.
Starting point is 01:08:13 thought. Even a guy like Marcus Mariotta, great, you know, locker room guy, mentor, but the perfect fit stylistically in case he needed to play, which he did. And then you remade your offensive line. That was one of the things we talked about during the offseason. They're not bringing back the same offensive line other than Cosmy and Wiley and Lucas, but they drafted Brandon Coleman. Alligretti's been phenomenal for them. Beaudish has been great for them. I mean, what did he miss on? Brandon McManus, the kicker. That's it.
Starting point is 01:08:47 And how could he have known what the heck was going on? Right. He's in the league right now. He's back in the league kicking. They decided to move on from him. And then they traded John Dotson. And they got more than a lot of teams are getting for guys here at the trade deadline for players that are much better.
Starting point is 01:09:06 He's having a really good season. Yes, he is. Now, the Latimore thing, there is. risk, but to me, totally worth taking. This is a shutdown corner as much as you can even have any of those in the NFL in today's game. He is legit upper tier if he's healthy and he plays games and he fills a massive need. And yeah, he's done pretty well. Yes. Executive of the year, I mean, if they won nine games or 10 games and it didn't happen with a seven and two start, but it with, say, a five and four or six and three start, he'd win it then.
Starting point is 01:09:45 He doesn't have to win 13 or 14 games. This team is the surprise team of the NFL. There's no other team that's as big of a surprise. That's why Quinn's going to win coach of the year. I mean, you could say Minnesota, I guess. No. But, all right. Your prediction.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Washington wins. 35 to 30. Wow. Jaden Daniels, three touchdown passes. 3530, Washington over Pittsburgh with J.D. throwing three touchdown passes. Any picks? No picks. He doesn't really, because he doesn't throw pitch.
Starting point is 01:10:24 He doesn't throw interceptions. All right, go to your class unless you want me to feed you lunch. No, I got to go, buddy. You didn't bring me anything today. I don't. I didn't. I feel bad now. Back tomorrow, Jay Gruden will be on the show.
