Caps game two tonight against Carolina.
I think most hockey fans, Tommy, believe that if they don't win game two, the series is
over. I don't know if that's true. These hockey games can go almost any way. We saw the other night.
The caps were completely dominated in the game, and they still had a chance to win it. But
tonight seems like a big game. You were at game one. What did you think? And what do you think about tonight?
I wrote a column in today's Washington Times about the reaction to that game one and how Spencer Carver
post-game reaction was like in a press conference was as if he walked in there like somebody
had kidnapped his team.
Like he didn't recognize what he saw on the ice.
I mean, I've been to some of his post-game press conferences during his season when he
just fawned over the connection he had with his team and how they would execute exactly
the way they were supposed to and how great it was to be part of it.
And he walked in there, like, he didn't recognize what he saw.
You know, so he needs to get his team back.
I wrote my column, like Liam Nielsen, they better hope he has a particularly special set of skills.
Yes, to bring his team back, because that team that was on the ice was not his team.
You know, I talked yesterday about how I texted a couple of people after the first period,
and I just remembered.
I think I texted you as well.
Because I, you know, I admittedly don't know much about hockey.
In terms of, you know, I know how they keep score.
I know it's played on ice.
But after that, you know, I'm not, you know, I don't know.
And I think most listeners don't really know the particulars or the intricacies of the sport.
And I texted you and I said, am I missing something or was this just one-sided domination?
Like, I couldn't, I'm watching, I'm like, doesn't the puck, is the puck not allowed to go to the other end of the ice?
Yes.
You know?
Yes.
I wrote, like they treated it like the other end of the ice was like a COVID colony or something.
Well, yeah.
I just, but it didn't matter because Logan Thompson was great.
and the quality chances that Carolina got, that number wasn't outrageous.
They're a shot volume team, I'm learning.
But the better team won.
Any non-hockey fan, but someone who's a sports fan could tell you watching that game.
Oh, yeah, the team with canes on the front of the sweater, that's the better team.
But it doesn't mean it'll happen tonight, I guess.
right here's what's interesting we've seen in hockey the better team doesn't always win because
there's one great equalizer and if the caps wasted it it would be a crime and that's a hot
goaltender yeah if they waste Logan thompson's performances this postseason you know that that
will be the story besides the typical caps you know uh chaos and and and history of
failure, that they would have wasted the one important ingredient you need to move forward
in the playoffs, and that's a great goal tending.
Yeah, they seem to be getting outstanding goaltending.
No doubt about that.
And we'll see if they can break back tonight and even up the series.
I got this, which I definitely want to read to you.
This comes from Mark.
Mark writes,
I've become fascinated by Tom's fascination over Spencer Carberry.
My theory is that Tom is deeply skeptical of Carberry for no reason other than he is young.
And Tom is waiting for the moment to pounce.
We'll see what happens if the caps are overmatched by the Cains as it appeared in game one.
When I read this, it was news to me that you have a fascination.
with Spencer Carberry.
Have I been missing something?
Well, I mentioned when we talked about him the other day.
I think today's the second time we've ever talked about him,
so I don't know what the fascination is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, but I mentioned that he looked all clean and scrubbed.
Oh, right.
You did say that.
Like a very together guy.
So maybe that's what triggered this.
Look, am I skeptical?
I've been skeptical of every coach they hired since they let the guy who won the
Stanley Cup leave. Okay?
That's basically my criteria.
They let the guy who took them to the Stanley Cup walk out the door, and every coach since
then has been Ted's version of, look, I'm smart, I know what I'm doing, and this is the
third coach since then now.
And Spencer Carberry, I mean, he's probably going to win the coach of the year award
in the National Hockey League.
Everybody says he's one of the best exes and O's coaches in the sport.
This is year two.
And they're connected.
They seem very connected with them.
It's not like they think he's some kind of goofball that they tune out.
I think they're very connected to him.
So, I mean, that's my skepticism is rooted in Barry Trots' departure, continuously.
You know, if the caps were the Redskins, that would be an.
All-time D.C. sports story.
Barry Trots not being kept on after he won the team's first championship.
I think about that.
I know in the moment, you know, it was a big story.
I'm not suggesting that, you know, we just all kind of said, oh, okay, Barry Trots is gone.
And who was the coach that followed?
Was that Reards?
Was that Todd Reardon?
Yeah, that was Todd Reardon.
Yeah.
Follow by Peter.
LaVuillette.
Yeah, and the Reardon thing,
the Reardon thing, he was on the bench,
and he was considered to be the analytic smart guy, right?
Yeah, the coach is waiting.
Yeah.
He didn't win a playoff series.
LaVuillette didn't win a playoff series.
Barry Trots won four in a row in 2018.
And by the way, if my memory serves me correctly,
and I'm going to look this up,
Didn't he also get to the Stanley Cup finals with Nashville?
Or wasn't he a really good coach in Nashville?
He may have.
Yeah, he was a very good coach before.
Oh, no, no, no.
Here it is.
He came up short all the time in Nashville, my fault.
He got to conference semifinals twice, but lost in the playoffs pretty much every year.
It was after he left Washington and was with the Islanders.
He got to the conference finals on two different occasions.
with the Islanders and lost to Tampa Bay both times.
So he did pretty well in New York with the Islanders.
I don't know what happened after that.
It looks like he missed the playoffs and then maybe he got fired, I guess.
Yeah, Spencer Carberry apparently is a very good coach, very good X's and O's coach.
Probably pitches and presents himself very well to manage it.
But look, he's done a great job this year.
They were not supposed to be the best team in the East.
And they won a playoff series.
Yeah, Associated Press did a story, I think, before the playoff started, quoting all these rival coaches,
saying what a great job he's done this year, including the guy who coaches Carolina.
So I'm not saying he's not a good coach.
I'm just, I mean, a reasonable person who follows the caps either close or from afar should remain skeptical, Stanley Cup or not.
Right.
I'm looking to see what the updated series prices are because the caps are underdogs tonight at my bookie.
Carolina is a minus 135 favorite.
In the series right now, yeah, Carolina.
is a prohibitive minus 392 favorite to win the series.
I will be at game two tonight, by the way.
Let everybody know.
You're going to have to leave pretty early.
I mean, make sure you leave Frederick by no later than like 130,
145 for the 7 o'clock.
You know, what a sick mind do you have?
What a sick mind do you have?
I mean, in order to prepare to do my job as well as I can,
you tease me about it.
What a sick son of a bitch you can be?
Oh, wow.
Well, we got sensitive, Tom, today.
Really sensitive.
Can't take a joke.
I don't think anybody out there listening is a believer that you have to leave six hours before a game starts to be able to do your job.
Of writing a column that you can read in about 45 seconds.
I love your columns.
They're brilliant.
But they are, you know, this is work what you're doing right now.
Did you prepare?
What time did you show up for the?
the podcast today. How much, how early did you get to work for the podcast?
Listen, when I could, when I'm sleeping at night, I'm dreaming about the podcast.
I'll tell you what, there's no doubt which job is a priority for you, as it should be.
I'm not suggesting that this should be a priority, but you take pride in being a part of this
podcast, but the next time you show up early will be the first time that you show up early.
The next time you show up with a list of topics to talk about.
You are on such shaky ground here. You're on such shaky ground here.
I'm not on shaky ground at all. What kind of ground where you're shaking?
I think you are. How many times have I heard? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was late.
I'm not the one suggesting that I've got to be here six hours before the show starts to do a good job.
Well, maybe you should start getting there six hours before the show starts.
Well, if truth be told, I get here pretty damn early.
Not that I'm fishing for a compliment because many people work hard and longer jobs that they don't even like, and I love what I do.
I enjoy it.
It doesn't even feel like work on a lot of days.
I just can't imagine that getting there six hours early, which seems like four hours before legitimate early begins, is necessary.
But I know it makes you feel better.
I respect it, even if I choose to mock it.
albeit in fun and with love, not with sickness or twistedness or however you put it.
You know, one quick thing, Tommy, you know, in talking about like really enjoying and it doesn't seem like work,
there's one thing that I did that did take six hours early almost every week.
Doing the pregame show for the Redskins Radio Network for all of those years,
and I think I did it for 13 seasons, that was the only thing that I've done in this business.
in 20-something years now, that was a true, oh, don't really look forward to doing this.
I loved the show, but it was such a timed, specific timed show.
Like, you know, I had to six times an hour be out on the exact time that the script said.
So if it was, you know, the first out might be 10, 12, 42.
So at 10, 12 a.m. in 42 seconds, I had to get to.
a break. And I couldn't miss that, you know, time stamp. And that required the most. Like what we do with
these, you know, shows, podcasts, radio shows, we prepare, but it's not scripted. That thing was
scripted. And I'm telling you every week, a one o'clock game, you know, it was like up at 4 a.m.,
five, six hours of preparing and scripting it out and then doing this show. I enjoy, you know,
sitting back on Sundays now and not doing that show after doing it for all those years,
even though I actually loved doing it, and it was good for me, to be honest with you.
But I know what kind of effort goes in to your columns.
I respect it.
I appreciate it.
But, you know, a jab here or there about how early you get to the arena, I think is
more than appropriate, and I don't think you should be that sensitive about it.
Well, okay.
So we know that the title for this podcast,
already. How hard Kevin used to work, and why does Tom bother to work so hard?
We can't make that the title, because we won't have nearly as many downloads.
There's a secret to titling the show, and it's not that.
It'd be the same as the caps.
Yes, it would be, actually. It's not actually smart to put the caps into the title of the show.
Let's get to some real stuff here.
Wait a minute.
I do want to talk about some NBA first before we get to football.
I know you didn't watch last night.
I can't make you watch.
You're just too stubborn.
The NBA playoffs, like the NHL playoffs,
there have just been so many, like, crazy games.
You know, the NHL playoffs, I think, have had the same thing.
There have been plenty of overtime games.
The Winnipeg, did you see the Winnipeg finish to their games?
seven over the weekend when they scored two goals in the final two minutes, the last one coming
with three seconds left in regulation, and then they won an overtime in a seventh game.
I'm sure you didn't see that either.
But the NBA last night produced another crazy game, because, in part, because of what happened
in the first game in this series, the Knicks for the second straight game in their best
of seven second round series with Boston came from 20.
down in the second half to win the game.
If you recall, this storyline from Game 1 was Boston missed an NBA record 45 three-pointers
in the game.
They were 15 of 60, and they wouldn't stop shooting them, even though they weren't making
them, and they ended up losing by three in overtime.
Last night, the Knicks were down 20, almost by the identical score, too, as it was in game
one and they came roaring back again. Boston didn't shoot 63s in this game. They shot 40,
but their percentage was the same. They were 10 for 40. They shot 25% from behind the arc,
and they ended up losing 91 to 90s. So the Knicks have taken the first two games on the road
against Boston, the defending champions. So a couple of things. Number one, Boston had a case
of the yips last night.
All of the talk about game one
and all of the missed
threes, this is what they do.
It doesn't mean that they can't change
as a team, but they kind of
won last year, a championship
playing similarly.
Now, they had Christopps Porzengis last year
for a big portion of the finals.
Porzengis has some mystery illness
that nobody's disclosing, and he's
barely playing right now. He's apparently
very fatigued. I have
idea what it is. So they're missing him, but for the most part, it's the same team. And Jason Tatum,
one for five last night. Derek White, three for 11. Jalen Brown, two for seven. Peyton Pritchard
off the bench, three for nine. They heard all of this talk. And they're like, well, what do we do?
We don't play the other way. We don't play post-up. We don't play five-man basketball. We don't
get everybody involved. We seek out the right matchup and we shoot threes.
off of that player's ability to shot make or playmake.
And you could see Tommy when the Knicks started whittling into that lead, Boston choking up.
Jason Tatum in particular choked up.
He was aiming shots.
You know, shooters don't aim.
There's a motion, there's a feel, there's a fluidity to it.
You're not aiming when you shoot.
You could see it.
They were tight.
They had the yips.
they started to try to drive the ball when really maybe they shouldn't have.
They shot a lot of threes.
They didn't score Tommy a field goal for eight plus minutes down the stretch.
They had two free throws and that was it.
There was a 21 to, I think it was a 21 to 2 run.
I thought it was fascinating to watch.
It's not my favorite basketball to watch.
I've made that clear.
I'm not, I don't like, it's not that I don't like a lot of the threes.
It's not the threes that bother me.
I hate ISO basketball.
I just don't like it.
There are lots of reasons it happens, and some of those reasons are legitimate ones.
I don't like it.
I didn't love watching Boston last year.
I don't love watching them this year.
They're not the worst offenders of ISO basketball by a long shot.
But, you know, the three-point era is getting tested right now with the Celtics having gone
25 for 100 in their last two playoff losses.
New York was good, though. New York was tough.
McHale Bridges was outstanding.
This is Dayland Brunson is an ISO his game?
No doubt. Tommy, I swear to you, like all the complaining about Boston.
And yet when Brunson is in the game, which is the majority of it, and he's a great
score, great shot maker, great playmaker, all of those things.
but it's a lot of ISO with him too.
I think he forces contested shots more than anybody in this series.
With that said, he's really, really good.
The Knicks were outstanding defensively.
Bridges, I love Josh Hart.
Josh Hart is just the Swiss Army knife of basketball players.
He just does everything well.
Nothing, elite level.
But, you know, Josh Hart, part of the Villanova crew, part of, by the way, the D.C., you know, he went to Sidwell Friends.
I saw him play a couple of times in high school.
But I also think that Tibbs is doing a great job coaching.
He actually pulled Brunson and Carl Anthony Towns out at one point in the fourth quarter with the lead at 16.
And the Knicks made up ground.
It was very interesting to watch Boston get what they want and not be able to do anything about it.
those guys came back refreshed.
I still would not count out the Celtics.
I think the Knicks are a little bit underrated.
I think the Celtics are still night in and night out capable of just being so explosive.
But they're tight.
They are very tight.
And I thought Tatum, I think their shooters had the yips last night.
You saw it a lot, especially as that lead started to evaporate.
I thought it was fascinating to watch twice in a row.
20-point leads, Tommy, in the NBA in 2025,
is like the equivalent of what a 10-point lead was in 1995.
It's just not that big of a lead.
It's crazy to say, but the scoring is just so...
I know that.
You know, yeah.
I know.
That's not necessarily good basketball, though.
Well, you didn't have...
Last night's game wasn't 131 to 130.
It was 91 to 90.
I know that.
But my point is, if teams can continuously come back from 20 points down, then you need to re-evaluate your game.
That's not the way it's supposed to work.
Yeah.
You know, on one level, as you said that I'm thinking, as doomed as the Celtics may appear to be,
they had 20-point leads in the first two games.
Like, they did something right to build 20-point leads.
Yeah, with respect to that's not good.
I just think that scoring and offensive shot making and playmaking is just at a much higher level in today's NBA than it's ever been.
And defense, while it's intense and at times outstanding in the playoffs, great offense still is almost impossible to stop unless you double team.
You know, it's really hard for anybody to just take a player.
I got him.
I got your best offensive player.
No, you don't.
Not without help, 99% of the time.
So it's just easier to score and, you know, the three-point shot.
And the, you know, is a big difference maker in a comeback from 20 down versus 30 years ago.
I mean, it was available, but they didn't shoot it as much.
Crazy series.
Look, you grew up a Knicks fan.
You played for the Knicks.
Are you not excited for them?
No, not particularly.
You're missing it.
You're missing it, but you'll never believe it.
This is not a Game of Thrones situation.
I know what the product is here.
Okay?
You're stubborn.
And I choose...
Doesn't change the stubbornness.
I choose not to watch it.
I choose not to be part of it.
I think part of it...
Game of Thrones.
I've never watched.
I think part of it is that you just...
And I get it.
Because I...
There's a part of it.
me that's gone in this direction.
You just don't want to waste time two and a half hours watching sports unless you have to.
You'd much rather do other things with your free time.
No, that's not it.
Really?
Now it comes to this.
This is a conscious decision.
It's not, you know, it's not because I'm being, well, it is because I'm being stubborn.
I'm making the decision not to watch it unless I have to.
No, it's like if the wizards were in the playoffs, then I'd have to watch it.
But fortunately, for me, that never happened.
Right.
Yeah.
So one last NBA point here.
The Oklahoma City Thunder is a team that you'd actually really like watching because they are old school.
They, everybody's involved.
everybody plays. They're deep. They defend as well as anybody in the league. They've got a superstar player, but he's not an overbearing superstar player. SGA last night had 34 points on 13 field goal attempts, Tommy. He was 11 of 13 and only shot two threes in the game. He got to the free throw line and was 11 for 11. They blew out Denver in Game 2, 149.
to 106. Denver pretty much kind of threw in the towel because they had won, they had stolen game
one. I've watched Oklahoma City now. I don't really pay attention to the regular season much.
This team, I'd be surprised if they don't win the title. They are so good. And I want to push back
on myself because I know that experience typically wins NBA championships.
And they got, you know, they won one series last year.
They got to the conference semifinals last year.
They're still in a one one series right now going back to Denver.
But this team is, there's just no weakness.
There's no flaw.
And they just keep coming.
And I don't know how a team's going to win four out of seven against.
them unless the lack of experience ends up being, you know, a massive difference maker.
Like they just don't know what to do. They don't know how to close out a couple of close games.
You know, that could be the difference because they're going to have to get through Denver,
a championship team, and maybe, although with Steph out, I think I'd favor Minnesota to win
this series. But if it's Golden State with Steph back, you're talking about experience.
And then maybe Boston, who knows, in the championship.
But God, OKC is so good.
They just are, they're well-coached.
Everybody is disciplined.
Everybody understands their role.
Their superstar isn't a ball hog.
They don't play ISO basketball, you know, exclusively.
They've got defenders.
They've got size.
Fun to watch team.
Really fun to watch team.
and I don't know.
They've had in the playoffs.
They've had leads of like 40 and 50,
three different times in playoff games.
We'll see what happens.
You might want to pay attention to them.
All right.
When we come back,
I mentioned this on the podcast yesterday,
but we're going to talk about it today.
Jaden Daniels ranked number one quarterback in the league.
More on that after these words.

So Cody Benjamin from CBSSports.com
did a post-draft 2025 NFL quarterback power rankings list.
This is the top 32 quarterbacks based on the projected starters on opening day next year.
Like there are some situations where you're not exactly sure who the starter will be.
Pittsburgh's situation is messed up.
Mason Rudolph, by the way, the 31st ranked starting quarterback in the league.
But number one on this list, Tommy, Jaden.
Daniels. And he writes,
recency bias, sure, but you'd be hard pressed to find an NFL team that wouldn't
hurry to claim him as its quarterback of the present and future contenders included.
He writes a second year dip as possible, but who says Daniels won't keep climbing with
some added veteran help in D.C.
You know, when he wrote that you'd be hard pressed to find an NFL team that wouldn't
hurry to claim him as its quarterback. That list really is super short. Kansas City wouldn't do it.
Buffalo probably wouldn't do it. I'm not so sure if Cincinnati had a chance to swap Joe Burrow
for Jaden Daniels that they wouldn't do it given Joe Burrough's injury history. I don't know if
Baltimore wouldn't do it because Lamar Jackson's great, but he doesn't really play well in the
postseason. And Jaden just proved his greatness.
in his first postseason, I think there are two quarterbacks in the league that are
givens in terms of teams not swapping, and that's Kansas City and Buffalo.
And I think that's where the list ends. What do you think?
Why Buffalo and not Baltimore? What do you see it's different between the two?
Josh Allen, I think, is a more complete quarterback. I think, look, I'm a big Lamar Jackson fan.
And those of you that are listening, I've been rooting for Baltimore in the postseason the last few years.
I've wanted Lamar to get over the hump, no doubt.
He didn't play poorly in the loss to Buffalo in the playoffs last year.
But the big difference is Josh Allen hasn't gotten to a Super Bowl, but Josh Allen has played incredibly well in the postseason.
Lamar Jackson's play dips in the postseason and has.
So I think Josh Allen's more complete, and I think he's more reliable in the big spots.
They just have had Michael Jordan in their conference, and they haven't been able to get through him.
Joe Burrow did once, but that's the list at this point.
So for me, it would be Allen and Mahomes.
I don't think Buffalo would swap.
I don't think Kansas City would swap.
I think every other team in the league would at least consider it.
You know, I can't argue with that.
I think you may be right when I think about it, the way you put it.
I mean, Joe Burrow, because of his injury history, you're right,
it would give you pause since Shane Daniels has no injury history to date.
Well, he did miss some of that Carolina game, a lot of that Carolina game.
That's true.
I know.
I think people's, I think the number one concern about Jaden still,
from anybody, you know, looking at him.
His ability to stay healthy.
Yeah.
I agree with you.
You know, I think you're right.
I think those have a two teams.
Everyone else would consider it.
Now, this list, and I mentioned this on the show yesterday,
had Jalen Hertz as the number two quarterback,
and he writes, he was frequently and often unfairly knocked
for holding more of a background role during much of the Eagles Super Bowl run.
But what more can you ask of this man when the lights shine brightest?
His title campaign may have proved he's best suited as a selective rather than high-volume
passer, but his instincts, toughness, downfield touch, and rugged mobility all show up in the
clutch.
You know, that is true about Jalen Hertz.
There is no doubt.
He's not the second best quarterback in the league, okay?
But in terms of his performance in the postseason and in big games, man, does he end up coming
through in the clutch.
Yeah.
He really does.
You wouldn't trade him
for your guy.
No.
No.
And I like Jalen Hertz.
I think he has been a little bit
underthought of.
I think there have been times
when I've watched Jalen Hertz
and I've been like,
what's wrong with him?
Is he hurt?
Because he looks slow.
He looks methodical.
But then you give him a big game
and he's really good.
But number two,
no.
I wouldn't.
I wouldn't say.
he's the number two quarterback in the game.
But God, think about how good he was against us in the championship game.
Some of those throws he made.
Look, they got away with a hold on Seguan Barkley on that big fourth down throw in the first half.
But he was outstanding, and the snow did what he had to do against the Rams with the game.
You know, on the line, the Green Bay game was a good game for him.
Like statistically, sometimes the numbers don't show it.
but when you go back and you think about Jalen Hertz in these games, I think he's played big when it's mattered.
To me, Jaden Daniels is easily in the top five conversation.
We were saying that last year.
Yeah, I think so.
And I think it's totally reasonable to put him into the top three conversation.
That that's kind of, you know, Burrow Jackson and Daniels are in that conversation after Mahomes.
and after Josh Allen.
And this ranking goes, Jaden, Jalen Hertz, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson,
Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and then Matthew Stafford.
I got a commander stadium tippet I want to talk to you.
I know.
We were going to close with that.
Did you have anything else on this?
Well, no, I don't.
Then I had something else I was going to close with, but I guess I won't.
Well, you told me before you wanted to close with your stadium thing.
I didn't say close.
I just said I wanted to mention.
I said, we'll close with that.
And you said, fine.
I know you did.
Okay.
Jesus, God.
You, you okay today?
I'm fine.
You're a little nervous.
You're nervous about leaving early enough to get to the arena.
There you go.
I mean, we're recording this before 9 a.m. this morning.
We started to record this.
So Tommy can get off to the arena in time.
He's very nervous about that.
He seemed to be just a little tense today.
I just hope you're okay.
Well, it's like the dream I had last night.
What dream?
You know, well, a dream I keep having.
I went to talk to my doctor about it because I can't sleep.
And I said to the doctor, I keep having this dream.
You know, one night I'm a TP, the other night, I'm a wigwam.
And he said, well, you're too tense.
You think that's funny?
It's like a five.
Yes, I do.
It's five on a one to ten.
Yeah, but that's what makes it funny.
Oh, okay.
Listen, you're tense, and I'm actually hyped up today.
Do you know why I'm hyped up?
Just on life, right, buddy?
Nope, nope.
There is some prescription help in the hypedness today.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm in the midst of taking one of those five-day steroid cycles to kind of, you know, hopefully get rid of my back pain that I,
I talked about the other day.
You've taken these things, right?
They're miracle drugs.
Steroids.
Oh, my God.
I mean, my back for the first time this week, it's not back to normal, but it feels so much
better, so much better.
Man, but hard to sleep, a little bit wired, which is all part of, you know, this cycle.
I kind of like it, though.
Kind of like it.
And then I added a couple of cups of coffee to it.
Do you think that was a good idea?
I can tell.
It was a great idea.
All right, we'll finish with two things apparently Tommy wants to talk about.
We'll do that after these words from a few of our sponsors.
Guys, personal experience with a product that I want to tell you about,
it's zbiotics and their product called pre-alcohol.
Let's face it, after a night of drinks, most at our age anyway, don't bounce back.
next day like we used to.
You either have that choice the night before of, do I have a drink or two, or do I pass?
Because I don't want to feel badly the next day.
Well, there's a surefire way to wake up feeling fresh after drinks with friends.
It's with pre-alcohol.
Zbiotics pre-alcohol was invented by PhD scientists to tackle rough mornings after
drinking.
I've noticed a difference the next day after using pre-alcohol.
You drink pre-alcohol before your favorite.
drink for me, Tito's soda, lime, or a beer, you wouldn't believe how great you feel the next day.
With spring now here, more opportunities exist to celebrate warmer weather with a product like Zbiotics pre-alcohol.
You're on the patio with friends, you're on a vacation, you're at a wedding, you just finish up a round of golf and you want to hang out and have a few with your buddies.
Drink one before drinking and wake up feeling great the next day.

All right, Tommy, tell us about Shelly's.
Well, another Caps game tonight.
That means shelley's will become Caps headquarters before the game and after the game.
If you're a Caps fan, make your way to Shelley's back room at 1331 S Street, Northwest,
just a few blocks away from Capitol 1 Arena.
You'll see your fellow Capp fans there.
You'll be able to celebrate or commissary or do some pregame planning and drinking with them as well.
I get people to ask me, if I was going to Shelly's, you know, like I often do, just for a typical night,
what would be my plan of attack?
No words, Shelly's has menus of excellence in food, drink, and cigars that you can buy there.
What would be my choices?
Okay, a night at Shelly's for me, a good night would be I go to the food menu.
They have so many choices.
I would go with the meatball sub.
That would be my choice.
Why don't you go to Shelly's before the game?
Since you're leaving so early,
why don't you go to Shelly's before the game and have lunch?
Have lunch in a cigar and just relax.
You're right around the corner from the arena.
You're not going to be late.
I think you love being at Shelly's on a beautiful day.
Today's a beautiful day, right?
I think it's supposed to be a beautiful day today.
Yes, it is.
And you love sitting outside and watching people, you know, go to and from their offices,
people who are really working for a living.
You love doing that.
Think about how happy you would be.
Meatball, sub, cigar, maybe a beer.
I mean, you're working.
So, look, we both had a...
No, that doesn't stop me.
No, it doesn't stop me either in certain situations, for sure.
And then you can, I mean, I don't think you're going to walk down.
down to the arena. That's five blocks, right? Six blocks. But then you just, you know, Uber down to the
arena. Leave your car at Shelly's. And I would walk down. Okay. I would walk down. I went to leave my car at
shelley. I'd park at the arena and then walk up. Yeah. It's funny because if I were with you,
if I were with you, you wouldn't walk. You'd be like, are you going to drive me and drop me off at the
front of the arena? Well, I wouldn't walk with you because after one block, you'd be a block ahead of me.
Yes, that's happened before when we've walked together.
I turn around, I'm like, where is he?
Yes.
All right. Anyway, the meatball sub, continue.
Right. I would have a Sierra Nevada would be my choice of drink.
They have many top shelf liquors.
I'm not a liquor guy, but they have a great selection of beer as well.
And of the cigars, and they have a menu of excellence of cigars,
I would go with the Romeo-E-Jolietta Churchill would be my choice.
So if anyone's curious, that would be my night at Shelly's backroom,
if I was eating, drinking, and smoking.
Sounds like a full night.
You can find, and you can find out more about their menus, go to shelley's backroom.com.
The place will be buzzing tonight, people.
Caps, games, spring.
Nothing like what will happen, though, on May 19th.
Cannot wait for May 19th.
Yes, the cigars and curveballs, D.C. Grace.
Had to remind them.
event, go to my social media account, you'll be able to find the link to purchase tickets.
All right. You had something on the stadium that you wanted to share.
Well, you know, this came up to me. I noticed that, I think the post reported that Josh
Harris and Roger Goodell made the rounds recently at the Wilson building, where the D.C.
You know, city council have their offices and stuff. And then I harkened back to the press conference
to unveil the stadium plan and all the bells and whistles and all the dignitaries they had there.
Where's Magic Johnson?
Yeah, where was Magic Johnson?
Where's he been?
You know, the Lakers are out of the playoffs now.
You asked that question.
You would think at that press conference, you would have thought Magic would have been there.
And if you're walking around the Wilson building, I mean, who are people going to get excited about,
Roger Goodell, Josh Harris, or Magic Johnson.
So why are you asking and bringing up this topic?
Do you know something?
Because, no, I don't know anything.
Okay.
But his absence is very curious because one of the reasons when he was brought on board as one of the owners,
one of the things a lot of people talked about, well, this would certainly help the team in their lobbying efforts in the district.
Because Magic is such an iconic figure among the African-American community.
Yeah, I got it.
And I'm just curious at why he wasn't there.
Yeah, it's this.
It is one of the things we highlighted when we found out Magic Johnson was part of the Josh
Harris ownership bid, is that all of these other things, by the way, throw in the name, too,
as part of these issues, that this is where Magic would be incredibly useful and helpful.
Yes.
So, yeah, I'm surprised, too.
He's been invisible and quiet about the whole thing.
Yeah.
Maybe there's something going on.
Maybe he's busy.
He's a busy guy.
He's one of the most successful entrepreneurs in terms of ex-athletes of all time.
He's busy.
Yes, he is.
You know, he gets.
I know he is.
And he's got to leave to get, he doesn't want to show up if he's not going to be here early.
So he don't want to just fly in and show up late and, you know, shake a few hands and walk out.
I'll be glad when you're off these steroids and back to normal.
So the Post just put this out.
In fact, I appreciate someone from the Post texting me.
This just broke 10 minutes ago.
It's a poll that the Washington Post, Sharr Group, right?
You know, what is that?
It's the Washington Post-Shar School poll, 651 D.C. residents,
a plus or minus 4.6 percentage points of,
error, margin of error. Would you favor or oppose the district government using about 850 million
in city funds to help finance development for a new football stadium for the Washington
commanders where RFK Stadium now stands in D.C. 55% favor it, 39% oppose it, 6% no opinion or they
skipped the question on the survey or on the poll. So a majority of D.C.
residents want this.
Now, let me just see what other,
because I'm looking at this for the first time.
You know, one other thing about the stadium,
and there's so many components to this thing.
And I realized this, thinking about it,
people have brought up the baseball stadium
as a comparable in terms of success
and pointed out that the city pageant
100% of the baseball stadium.
Okay.
I might want to point out to everybody that they paid that 100% with tax money that didn't exist
without the stadium.
Now, if they didn't take that out of the city coffers, okay?
The stadium was built on taxes generated by the stadium.
I think there's...
That's a big difference from the football stadium.
But isn't the biggest...
difference? I understand that difference.
The biggest difference is that that
was the only way to get a baseball team to come to Washington.
We didn't have baseball. Yes, it was. Yes,
it was. But, I mean,
in terms of financing,
that really didn't cost the city
anything. Right.
Yet it barely passed
the council. It was 7 to 6. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes.
First it was 7.6, no, and then it was 7.6, yes.
So I'm just reading through this
post story. Current support for funding the football stadium at 55% is actually lower than the 64% of
DC residents last year who supported the city paying $500 million for improvements to Capital One Arena.
I don't know if that's significant. I think you had an arena that was already in D.C. You had an
arena that made D.C. almost a different city. It made that neighborhood a different neighborhood.
leaving that neighborhood would have really, I think, destroyed that area of town.
And you're not, like, people understand what RFK looks like now.
They want to change.
You know, it's a 9% difference.
It's also a lot less money.
But so that should help, right?
A poll that says D.C. residents are...
It's hurt.
Yeah.
Okay.
You said you had one other thing.
What else did you have?
Yeah, I'm holding it back.
You're holding it back for next Tuesday?
It requires more conversation than the time we have a lot.
Let's just say it involves a little political battle going on inside my condo building.
Yeah, we can wait on that one.
We'll talk about that on Tuesday, but I bet you're at the forefront of it.
It's not politics.
It's internal, an internal political.
That's fine.
Is it over some sort of statue that they want to put up in that walking park of yours?
No.
Is it over rules for the card room?
No, you're not going to guess, okay?
There's no card room here.
It's not a senior citizen complex.
Peanuckle room?
If you want to bet.
Do you know how to play Peanuckle?
I don't.
I honestly don't.
Should I learn?
Neither do I.
And my dad spent.
years trying to teach me that I couldn't do it.
I love card games, but I don't know anything about Peanuckle.
I don't know anything about it.

I did want to mention just one thing to end the show.
This is crazy.
I don't think you see this very often.
The Knicks are now a minus 115 favorite to win the series, Tommy.
But the favorite to win the Eastern Conference is still Boston at plus 160.
Oh, man.
And, you know, I think I can explain it.
That's weird.
It just means that.
Boston has a much better chance of winning the Eastern Conference finals against Indiana or Cleveland than New York would.
Like the chance, Boston would be a massive favorite or would be a solid favorite against either one of those two teams.
The Knicks would be an underdog against Cleveland. I don't know what they would be against Indiana.
And that's just a weird thing to kind of see is a team's favorite to win a series right now, two games into it.
By the way, they're barely favored at up to nothing going home.
The garden's going to be insane on Saturday.
Yes, it will.
And then the Celtics are still the favorite to win the conference championship.
MyBooky.orgie.orgie.org promo code, Kevin, D.C.
We're done back tomorrow. See you, Tommy.
See you, boss.
