You don't want it.
You don't need it, but you're going to get it anyway.
The Kevin Sheehan Show.
Here's Kevin.
The priority is honoring our past and then the future, right, updating, but not forgetting
about our heritage, who we are, and honoring that.
And so there are a bunch of things up our sleeve.
I don't want to run in surprise, but we're going to continue to go back and try to embrace our past,
but then updated.
And so stay tuned.
That was Washington owner Josh Harris earlier today answering a question about the team's new uniforms.
Coming soon on April 15th.
He was out in Phoenix for the NFL's league meetings.
He, Adam Peters, and Dan Quinn all spoke.
I'll tell you what all of them said coming up.
The show's presenting sponsor, Windonation, 86699.
or windownation.com if you need new windows. And if you do need new windows, it's best that you
reach out to window nation by the end of day tomorrow. That's the end of the month. Tomorrow's
March 31st. They are offering half price, 50% off of everything until the end of the month.
86690 Nation or windonation.com. No guests on the show today. We're going to focus on
Josh Harris, Adam Peters, and Dan Quinn here in this opening segment, and some of what they said out in Phoenix today.
It's the first time we've heard from Josh Harris since the season ended.
He had thoughts on not only the season, he discussed how he felt about Dan Quinn and Adam Peters.
So I'm going to get to all of that here in the opening segment of the show.
By the way, he had a very interesting reaction to Jaden Daniels playing in that flag football.
event nine or ten days ago. Of course, I'm going to get to Yukon's stunning win over Duke at
Capitol One last night to advance to the final four. I'll do that in the next segment. And then
there's a bunch of things to mention in the final segment of today's show, including some
NFL news, and it was historic for one Nats outfielder this weekend in Chicago. We'll finish up
the show with some of that. So let's start with the owner talking for the first time since the season
ended. There was no season-ending press conference from the owner this year. So this is the first that
we've heard from him since the miserable five and 12 season. And he was asked about, you know,
the announcement that the team put out on Twitter last week, on X last week, about new uniforms
coming soon on April 15th. What I played coming in,
the show just a few minutes ago.
I'm going to play again right now,
just so that you can listen to it with the context of knowing what the question was about.
And then there was a follow-up question from John Kime and an answer from the owner that I'll play afterwards.
But here's Josh Harris answering the question about the team's coming soon, new uniforms.
The priority is honoring our past and then looking to the future, right, updating.
but not forgetting about our heritage, who we are, and honoring that.
And so we have a bunch of things up our sleeve.
I don't want to run the surprise, but we're going to continue to go back and try to embrace our past,
but then update it.
And so stay tuned.
The priority is honoring the past and then looking to the future, Josh Harris said,
not forgetting who we are.
Bunch of things up their sleeve, he said, but he doesn't want to ruin.
the surprise, stay tuned.
So there's that from him on the uniforms.
There's more. I'm going to get to that in a moment.
But look, we're going to see the permanent uniforms be uniforms that honor the past.
As far as looking to the future, I don't know what the surprises are come April 15th.
Like I said last week, I think we're going to get the championship era uniforms.
That was the 91 jersey that they wore.
as alt uniforms last year.
Three times they wore them against Seattle, Denver, and the Cowboys on Christmas Day.
They wore their white championship uniform from 91 because that's what they wore during the Gibbs
years.
They wore white at home.
Now, there's going to be a burgundy jersey, a dark colored jersey, as well.
Now, like I said last week, I did not get information on if they'll be a team that
wears one or the other predominantly or consistently at home, whether they're going to be
a white jersey team at home or a dark jersey team at home, it wouldn't surprise me if whatever
they choose to do, it's not necessarily consistent. We've seen teams throughout the league
where lots of different variations of uniforms and get away from sort of the consistency. I mean,
we see the Cowboys in white at home. We see the Steelers in dark at home, the Packers, in
dark at home, but I think even the Packers may have gone all white at one point for a home game.
So the consistency isn't necessarily there across the league.
I'm just thinking right now, maybe the Chiefs are pretty consistent at home with dark jerseys.
Now, the helmets, you know, might be where the surprise is, but I would not expect the old
logo to come back, as I said last week, maybe something with the W and,
and a spear.
Also keep in mind, they'll have an alt uniform for next year for a game or two.
I would expect the black uniform to still be a part of that.
Anyway, Josh, we are staying tuned and we'll tune in on April 15th.
Now, John Kime asked a follow-up question on why honoring the past is important to him.
Here's what Josh Harris said.
Well, because I live through our path, I mean, I'm only 61, so I didn't go back before the 70s, but I was there for the 70s, 80s, and early 90s, right?
And so I lived through how amazing those teams were and, you know, what an impact had on me.
And I know that thousands of our fans, millions maybe, feel the same way.
And so I think it's important to go back to that as much as you can.
But at the same time, we have a bright future head.
So even the shape of the stadium and the look at the same, right,
when you look at it, it looks like RFK.
It doesn't, but it's been moderates, right?
So that's a great example.
And so our uniforms are similar.
I mean, some of the Super Bowl area uniforms,
some, you know, going, you know, there's many ways to honor our past.
and you're seeing how we treat athletes and bring back some of our past superstars.
So all those things go into it.
So what you didn't hear from Josh Harris in either of the two sound bites that I just played for you
was anything regarding the team name.
But he did say something about the team name today.
I don't have the sound of anything else that I'm going to read from Josh Harris's comments today.
He was at a table with a lot of the beat reporters from back here.
And a lot of what he said was just transcribed or tweeted out.
I don't have the sound of what he said as of the recording of this podcast.
The sound that I just played is all I had.
But David Harrison, who covers the team for Channel 9, said that Harris emphasized that the organization is committed to the commander's name.
So there you go on that.
We'll just have to be excited in 2026 about a team that will at least resemble the team that we used to root for in their look, in their uniforms.
Now, he said some other things that I want to read to you.
And this is sort of a compilation of a lot of the tweets from guys like Kime and Ben and Nikki and others who were out there sitting with him.
today on the 2025 season. We have not heard what he thought of the 2025 season yet. He said a lot of
injuries, but no excuses. No one was happy with last season, but Dan and Adam have my confidence.
So first time we've heard from him since 5 and 12, Dan and Adam have my confidence, even though
nobody was happy with last season. He said, we immediately got on it, meaning when the
season ended, and they did with, you know, getting rid of defensive coordinator Joe Whit Jr.
And Cliff Kingsbury and making two hires. So that's what he said about this past season.
He also was asked about Jaden Daniels playing in this flag football game, something we talked about
a lot last week. And for whatever reason, some of you were really irritated with that conversation.
and I told you that from what I knew,
there were a lot of people with fingers crossed out in Ashburn
when Jaden was playing this flag football game.
Josh Harris was asked about it,
especially when he saw Jaden Daniels lining up at wide receiver,
and he said, quote,
I'm not going to say that I wasn't nervous,
just glad he got through that one.
Jaden is somebody I trust.
I left that up to him, closed quote.
So there you go.
Yeah, that was pretty much the best of Josh Harris.
Now, he was asked about the stadium and finding a name or naming rights,
and he said, we're still four years away from that.
And he also said that they have no plans anytime soon to move their practice facility from Ashburn.
He said they've invested a lot of money to improve that place,
and the team likes training in that area.
Now, Adam Peters spoke after Harris.
In fact, he just finished up a little while ago.
So let me take some of what he said about Tyler Biotish.
He said about Biotish, there were some conversations about, you know,
looking into trading him.
He said there are conversations all the time with teams.
He said, we explore everything in a lot of.
ultimately, quote, made the best decision for the team to move on.
Closed quote.
Now, that came after Dan Quinn earlier today said that they did not explore a trade
for Tyler Beaudish.
But Ben Standing was on radio with me.
And he said that that's not exactly what Quinn meant, is that they didn't get to the
point where they could actually explore it.
but of course they looked into it.
What else from Adam Peters here?
What about taking a running back at number seven?
He said, you know, there's a possibility of taking a running back at number seven,
but he also emphasized that they found Kroski Merritt in the seventh round.
He also said Peters did that he does not anticipate there's going to be a lot of moving up,
moving back in this draft, you know, in part because of the lack of quarterbacks in the first round.
What else from Peters?
Yeah, that's pretty much the best from Peters. Quinn was asked about the center position,
and he said that it's going to be between Nick Allegretti and Julian Good Jones.
Julian Good Jones has been kind of a practice squad player,
although I think he was up for the season finale.
But Quinn said that there's going to be some competition,
and he said, we'll see what happens over the next month,
whether it's adding a draft pick or somebody else,
or if somebody else potentially becomes available.
Now, I wanted to play a soundbite from Dan Quinn on the tight end position.
I actually thought this was a very interesting.
interesting answer.
Because he was asked about the tight end position,
Chigakan quote, the addition of a con quote,
and what that will mean.
But he brought up another player that I've actually mentioned a few times
going back to training camp last year.
And this is, you know, an example of,
and I'm going to play it for you,
but it's an example of there are players on this roster
that they have plans for that we're not even really anticipating.
Here's what he said about the tight end position, starting with the addition of Chigacanquo.
I love the speed, you know, first and foremost, because some people have time speed and then demonstrated game speed, and I felt that with Chig.
And so you see it on deep overrout some ones that, you know, build up speed on a play action game.
Ben's strength, I really feel like it's still, still him in the move, in the backfield, from the line of scrimmage, off the line, and he can really run and get to the edge.
John obviously is one of the best in-line guys we go.
And Yankoff is somebody that we felt like has really worked hard in dual role.
And so I'm looking forward to see what Yank can do because he's a guy that's there.
And the other player that we haven't talked about, but all of us have high hopes for his Cager.
He's got uniqueness to him, man.
And so if there was one player, he said, Dan, who are you really looking to see what's going to take place in the spring and in this training camp?
I see this guy putting in an incredible amount of work right now.
And I'm interested to see where that goes with Cager.
I think there's a real value there for third down.
And it's one of the exact superpowers.
And so when that didn't take place, that's a harder person to replace, you know,
knows when to sit down, when to go.
And so Cager is also one that we don't talk about a lot outside the building.
I thought it's worthy of bringing them up.
Lawrence Cager, number 89 in your 2026 preseason program.
I remember coming in here on a Monday or maybe it was a Friday, I don't know,
in saying, look, we don't know anything about our team from preseason games,
but you can watch players, they do very closely, clearly.
And I remember saying that dude Cager looks like a pass-catching NFL tight end.
6566, 220 could run, had soft hands.
And I'm pretty sure that I brought this to the show at some point during the season,
but I remember having a conversation with somebody just about, you know,
the opportunities for younger players as the season got sort of out of control record-wise.
And Cager's name was brought up unprompted.
And I remember thinking to myself, yeah, that guy really popped in the preseason.
So there you go.
I mean, there could be three or four or five of those guys that are on the roster,
or we're on the practice squad that are going to get opportunities with the two new
coordinators.
And maybe they were going to get opportunities with the two old coordinators, but they were
just too young.
But, you know, it's a guy like Cager that you got to get them to admit it or to say it for
us to learn that, hey, there is a guy that was on the practice squad all year.
I think he got called up maybe for the season finale, I forget,
that they actually really like and have some expectations for.
How about what he said about Senate in that answer?
Essentially saying, you know, we kind of see him coming out of the back field a little bit.
This goes back to the Kyle Use Check, you know, comp from Adam Peters back on, you know,
shortly after the draft in 2024.
Senate's role is going to be much different than I think a lot of us,
thought it could be in year two or even in year three, especially with David Blow as the
offensive coordinator.
We're going to see more two and three tight end sets in the Blow system.
And because of that, we're going to see, you know, Bates, Senate, a Conquo, or maybe a Conco
Senate and Cager, you know, I'm throwing Cager out there.
He also mentioned Yankoff, who is really more of a receiver.
than he is a tight end.
But it's also, you know, the answer from him
and just thinking about that position
and the number of times they may be in 12 or 13 personnel,
it somewhat minimizes a little bit
their desperation for another receiver.
There was something on Brandon Ayuk from San Francisco
and the San Francisco brass out in Phoenix
that I will share with you in the final segment of the show today.
But yeah, that's kind of it.
He had some interesting things to say about Jordan McGee
and kind of that player that's going to be the green dot on the field
defensively taking the place of Wagner.
Now, Kime did say that the door was not closed on Bobby Wagner,
returning. He had a
conversation, I think, one-on-one over the
weekend with Quinn.
But Quinn
really believes that Jordan McGee
has a chance, along with
Chanel, to be in that kind of
role that Wagner
was in last year.
We will see.
All right, let's get to what was
truly one of the most memorable finishes
in NCAA history. We'll get to that
after these words.

All right, on the Yukon Duke game, let's obviously talk about that basketball game last night.
A game that I did have Duke laying five is a smell test.
The smell test was on a roll, on a heater, through Friday night, 17 and 9.
And then I had Purdue on Saturday and then had three losers yesterday with Tennessee, not close, and the two unders.
I'm sorry.
Duke and the under in the Duke
Yukon game. All three of them
losers. So 17 and 13 still for the tournament, not bad,
with still a final four and a championship game to go.
So here are my thoughts on this game yesterday.
First of all, it's not going to go down as the most memorable
finish in NCAA tournament history.
That's Christian Leitner in 92 against Kentucky 104, 103,
and overtime, taking the three-quarter court pass from Grant Hill, turning around and firing
one at the buzzer. That was Leitner's second buzzer beater in the NCAA tournament. His first came as a
sophomore in the Elite 8 when he beat Yukon with a buzzer beater to advance to the final four in
1990. That was the year they got blown out by UNLV in the championship game. It's not Lorenzo
Charles's dunk off of Derek Wittenberg's miss in the 83 championship game at the buzzer to, you know,
give Jim Valvano the title over Houston in one of the biggest upsets in NCAA history.
And it's not Chris Jenkins, you know, hitting a three at the buzzer for Villanova's championship win over North Carolina.
I mean, there have been so many great finishes.
And many of the finishes that we think of are earlier rounds, you know, Bryce Drew,
Drew Nicholas, Tyos Edney.
But make no mistake, this one's going to go down as all-time memorable.
Maybe not top three, maybe not top five, but somewhere in that, you know, after the top
three or four conversation, because it was an elite eight game and it was so in the moment
shocking.
Because for me, and I think probably many of you, I never thought.
Duke was going to lose the basketball game.
This was not a great basketball game.
This was not a back and forth affair.
This also wasn't like this unbelievable comeback.
Yes, they were down by 19 in the first half and by 15 at halftime.
How about this stat?
Number one seeds in the NCAA tournament with the double-digit halftime lead were
134 and 0 before last night.
and Duke was in complete control of the game.
They were dominating defensively.
And really offensively,
Yukon was nowhere near as difficult as St. John's was
in the Sweet 16 game on Friday night against Duke.
I have to tell you that if St. John's had won that game,
I think St. Johns would have beaten Yukon.
St. Johns was the most impressive defensive team in this tournament,
for me, of all the games that I watched.
Duke was having their way with Yukon, and they were really, really stifling and suffocating defensively.
Yukon just couldn't get much unless they went down to Reed Jr. on the post, and he kind of had his way,
and that was their only offense.
They were one for 18 from three until the very end of the game when they went four for their last five.
but this was not a great game.
It wasn't a back and forth game.
It wasn't necessarily a highly played game.
It wasn't a high, super high quality game.
You know, Yukon didn't shoot it well.
Duke's defense had something to do with that.
Duke turned it over too many times in the second half.
That enabled Yukon to come back.
They were sloppy with the basketball, but it wasn't all defensive force.
But the end of the game is spectacular.
Now, the comeback itself,
It wasn't, you know, a big run.
It wasn't they're down 19.
And all of a sudden it's a 19 to 2 Yukon run to cut the deficit to 2.
No, they chipped away at it, man.
It just was, you know, 19 down to 15 at halftime, 15 down to 11, down to 9 back to 11, down to 7 back to 10.
You know, and then it just kind of got to the point where when we got to the last,
last five minutes, the game was within reach. And for me, you know, having Duke laying the five and
knowing that the game wasn't going to stay under the total at that point, the total was 135.
All I was hoping for was Duke to win in cover. And even at the very end, when they were up 372 to
69, you know, a miss gets me some free throws and maybe another miss, a couple of free throws,
and who knows? Games end like that all the time. But Yukon didn't have like this stirring
you know, big run comeback. You know, it was chipping away at it. And therefore, you were
shocked when you got to the end, but it was a gradual surprise. I also want to say this about
Danny Hurley. He's as good as anybody X's and O's wise. He just is. I can't think of many people
that are better than him in the game. And Yukon has this championship pedigree right now, this
championship DNA. I mean, he's got two and he just went back to the final four with a team that
was not necessarily a final four talent team. He is incredible. And he never got rattled. You know,
and you sense that in one of the interviews he did with Tracy Wolfson. And I noticed that in the
Michigan State game, they actually had a big lead against Michigan State and nearly blew it. Actually,
Michigan State came back and took the lead at one point in that sweet six.
game. But it was almost like he had so much respect for Izzo on Friday night, so much respect for Duke's
program that you didn't get the typical, you know, behavior that you get from Hurley. There wasn't a lot
of berating the referees. Now, there is that video of him going forehead to forehead with a referee
after the go-ahead shot by Mullins. I don't think that that was an arguing thing or a confrontational
thing. I think he was like, can you believe what you just watched? I don't know. Maybe we'll get an
explanation on that. A lot of people screaming that that should have been a technical foul.
But I think that there was like a calm with Hurley, as much as there can be with Hurley, that
he knew that this was not going to be a 19-point game. He knew this was not going to be a double-digit game.
He knew that his team was good enough and had that championship pedigree to kind of hang in there,
hang in there and hang in there, and then eventually get it to a point where it was at least
doable.
And give them credit because they were tough and they got better defensively as the game went on.
Duke helped them out a lot.
They run such good offense and they started getting looks at the rim.
They started knocking down threes at the end.
And then let's get to the end.
First of all, I think the number one reason it got to where it got to, Duke was not good with the
basketball in the second half. Eight turnovers. And those eight turnovers led to, I think,
14 points, not necessarily all fast break points, but quick offense points. And Yukon was struggling
offensively in the half court. And Duke gave them eight turnovers in the second half. Several of
them completely enforced, like the Caden Boozer passed to his brother at half court that was a lazy
pass that Reed picked off and dunked. And then Cameron Boozer, you know, when they were
up four with about a minute to go.
They had a chance to go up six,
and he just lost the basketball, dribbling it.
That's another thing, and I'll get to in a moment is Cameron Boozer.
But the end sequence, to me, you know, so much conversation about what went on
and the mistake that Caden Boozer made in throwing the ball away.
So I'm going to play Coach Sheehan here for a minute.
Yes, I know it's never been pro basketball or college basketball,
but I do kind of have an understanding of their press offense and their press break.
And some of what you should do if you're Caden Boozer when you catch the ball in the middle of the floor in your press break.
By the way, it's kind of the same concept against zone offense, picture a two, three zone.
Where do you want to get the ball?
You want to get the ball to the middle or the short corner.
but if it's the short corner, you're looking to the middle.
If it's a wing, you're looking to the middle.
And the rules kind of apply similarly in that when you catch the ball in the middle of the floor against pressure,
you're not taught to dribble the basketball.
You're taught to catch, turn, and face the defense.
You know, if it's a zone defense and you're on offense,
you turn and face if the defense converges, you make the next pass.
If they don't, you take a nice shot from, you know, somewhere between 15 and maybe eight feet.
Against pressure, you're looking to see what to do.
Are you going to make another pass?
Their press break started with a pass to Cameron Boozer,
and then you always in your press break have one player behind where the ball is.
You know, you have to have that ability to go backwards before you go forwards, before you go forward again.
And so the ball went back to the in-bounce passer
and then immediately to the middle of the floor
as the defense converged on that particular player
and I'm forgetting who threw it in.
Was it brown?
It may have been sara who threw it in.
And Boozer makes himself available,
cutting to the middle of the floor.
It's perfect.
Except when he catches it, he turns and he puts the ball on the floor.
And that's a killer.
You never want to waste a dribble or start it with a dribble.
face and then you figure out what to do.
I think, though, because I'm not going to kill Caden Boozer for this.
I think in that situation, what he was thinking was I'm going to catch it and I'm going to
try to dribble some clock down before we're getting fouled.
I'm going to try to evade the defense with the dribble and try to burn some more
clock before they foul me and I go to the line, you know, up one or up the three.
two in that spot, 72 to 70.
But when he turned and dribbled and picked up the dribble, he realized, oh, my God, I've
got two players wide open down the floor and nobody's on them.
That's the next pass.
But that's the next pass after you turn face and you figure out how to make that pass.
Once he burned the dribble and he got himself into that position, he made a bad decision
to pass into a very crowded area.
He could have just held it and gotten fouled.
We all understand that.
Now, if he held it and got tied.
up, the jump ball would have gone to Yukon.
But they were going to foul.
I thought they would have fouled Cameron Boozer the minute they trapped him and couldn't
steal the ball from him.
But I think he was trying to catch and dribble some clock out.
But it wasn't done the right way.
And I promise you that John Shire in their press break, that that is something they
probably, you know, even at the youth level, catch in the middle of a zone, catch in
the middle of the floor against pressure, turn, face.
You know, if there's nothing there, sometimes you go backwards first before you go forward
again.
Yeah.
And then, look, Yukon, the presence of Caraband who made one three, it was a big one, it was a
huge one to cut the lead to 70 to 69, he was one for six, you know, a player with championship
pedigree, the ability to go right back to Mullins and then for Mullins to get.
get that look. Look, the defense was scrambling at that point. I don't blame anything Duke
defensively. I mean, they turned it over. They're scrambling. I mean, you don't want to contest too
hard. God forbid you foul a three-point shooter. A 35-foot-3 is not a high-probability shot. But it
went down. And the rest is history. Shocking. The only lead they had in the second half.
The only lead they had since two to nothing in the entire game was on the Brayland Mullins shot to
give him the 73 to 72 win. Look, you know, I had a call or calling who's a big Terp fan and said,
there are certain people, you know, Duke's rivals over the years in the ACC and beyond,
and just people who don't like Duke that probably loved it and he loved it. And I understood
the feeling of watching Duke go down and the reaction of their fans in that spot. It seems
small and petty. I understand that for those of you who don't feel.
the same way. But there was something, I don't think it's anywhere near the satisfaction of when
Carolina beat Shishovsky in his final game at Cameron Indoor. That was really special.
But what a finish, man. What Hurley's incredible. Shire's really good, too. Now, the last thing I
want to say about this game, I've said it several times going back to when they played Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Booser should not be a top three pick in the NBA draft.
And if he's the Wizards pick, I'll be really upset if they have a top three pick,
top four pick.
He has a very high floor, but he's got one of the lower ceilings of the players that are
supposed to go super high.
Peterson, DeBonsa, I'd say Acuff Jr., maybe even A-Met from Tennessee,
Fleming's, you know, Wilson, Carolina.
Yeah, you've seen it.
If you've been watching Duke, he just isn't a finisher at the rim.
He's super smart, high IQ, tough.
He's got great hands, great feet.
He's got great moves around the rim.
But too often, he can't finish at the college level.
How is he going to finish at the NBA level?
Now, could he be a stretch four?
I think he's a good shooter.
And I think he's going to have a long NBA career.
Don't get me wrong.
I think he'll be a good player in the NBA, but he's not.
he's not what you're looking for in a draft like this when you're picking in the top two or three.
You're looking for the player and you're taking a swing on the player that you think has a chance to eventually be a superstar, a top five-ish kind of a player.
That's not Cameron Boozer. It just isn't.
Great game. Real quickly, on the Elite Eight games.
I think the Elite Eight game between Arizona and Purdue was a matchup of the team.
two best teams that were remaining in the draw.
You know, Purdue beat the snot out of Michigan in the Big Ten title game.
Arizona, to me, is the best team left in the draw.
And yet, they're a one-point underdog to Michigan in the final four.
Look, Michigan and Arizona are clearly the two best teams left now.
And Michigan's really good, and they had a hell of a year.
But Purdue, with the way they were playing through the Big Ten tournament and through this tournament,
and they had a seven-point lead at halftime,
but Arizona was just too good, just too good.
I think Kaufman-Ren getting in foul trouble really hurt Purdue
and probably didn't make the difference in the final outcome,
but probably made the difference in the final score.
I don't think they lose by 15 going away,
getting outscored 48 to 26.
If he doesn't get in foul trouble and has a normal game,
He was never into any sort of rhythm.
He just kept getting pulled, yanked, two fouls,
and got the third early in the second half.
And he's just a critical player for Purdue.
And I think that foul trouble for him really hurt the rhythm of his game
and the potential for Purdue offensively to hang in there.
But they weren't going to win that game.
I've watched Arizona now, every one of their games.
My God, they are so good.
and Purdue up seven in the first half tells you how good Purdue is, how good they are.
Because I think in any other elite eight matchup, Purdue's probably in the final four.
I believe that, including Michigan and what they did to Tennessee.
I mean, they've destroyed everybody.
But that just goes to show you how good Purdue is as well.
They beat Michigan in the Big Ten championship game just over two weeks ago and beat them soundly by 10 in that game.
I loved Coa Pete.
I've loved him all year long for Arizona.
Man, is he going to be a good pro?
He is so skilled.
I compared him.
I remember the first time I watched him early in the season to Derek Queen,
Maryland's Derek Queen.
The difference is Queens taller,
but they have the same feel for the game.
He's such a highly intuitive, high IQ player.
Krivoss is good.
Burries and Bradley is a back court.
I can't believe Michigan's favorite.
I guess I'm going to end up probably having Michigan.
Michigan is a smell test pick because I would imagine the public will play Arizona, but maybe they
won't because Michigan's perceived to be great too. We get this sometimes in the final four,
one of the two games is actually more like a championship game, and we're going to get that
with Arizona and Michigan, although Yukon, Illinois will be a hell of a game. Illinois, really
impressive in their win over Iowa. Keaton Wogler continues to play at such a high level and
control these games for Illinois.
and then Michigan was dominant against Tennessee.
So Tennessee, you know, beating Iowa State the other night.
It was big that Iowa State was missing their second best player for that game, Jefferson.
That got Tennessee into the elite eight for the third straight year.
I didn't even realize it.
Rick Barnes does a hell of a job for Tennessee.
They just didn't have enough offense.
They just didn't.
Gillespie, the Maryland kid, played very well in the tournament.
Amen, the freshman is going to be a really good.
player, but that was it. They were tough defensively, tough as a rebounding team, but not enough
anywhere else. All right, a lot of other things to get to, including maybe one of the most incredible
starts to a season we've ever seen. Actually, it was, and it was by a Nats outfielder. That's next,
after these words from a few of our sponsors. Hey, guys, I introduced you last month to a product called
Mando, a product I received for the first time, about three months ago, I guess. I'm a huge
fan and I am a customer now. I use this deodorant everywhere because it's a deodorant
meant to be used everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean pits, thigh folds, belly buttons, feet,
and private areas as well. For some of you back into the dating world, or just trying to impress
your significant other, smelling nice all the time everywhere on your body is big.
It was created by a doctor who saw firsthand how normal B.O. was being misdiagnosed and mistreated.
It's clinically proven to block odor all day and control odor for up to 72 hours.
Mando comes in a solid deodorant stick and also as a spray.
Some men mask their B.O. with scents.
Mando men get the job done right.
Don't mask it.
Mando it.

My bookie is the place to bet the NCAA tournament's final four this week.
weekend in Indianapolis.
Right now, they've got Illinois is a two-point favorite in the first game over Yukon
and Michigan as a one and a half point favorite now over Arizona.
Arizona and Michigan are actually co-favorites to win the national championship.
Both of them are at plus 170.
Illinois is at plus 390 and Connecticut is at plus 650.
Imagine if they were to win it again.
They've got five of those things this century.
They could get their sixth, and they've got six total.
And Dan Hurley's going for his third in four years.
I mean, if he were to get the championship in Indy this weekend
and next Monday night a week from tonight,
that puts him into rarified air, man.
Three titles in four years.
I know Jim Calhoun had three titles at Yukon as well,
but man, you start putting.
him into, you know,
Wooden, Knight,
Smith, Shoshevsky.
You start putting him,
you know, in the conversation of the
coaches that start right after, you know,
those guys.

So your Washington Nationals got their first season opening series win since 2018.
They beat the Cubs two out of three.
They won on Thursday, 10 to 4.
They lost on Saturday 10 to 2.
And yesterday they won 6 to 3.
courtesy of Joey Weemers' first inning three-run Homer, which gave the Nats a three-to-nothing lead.
They never looked back. They never trailed on their way to a six-to-three win over Chicago.
But Joey Weimer, their starting right fielder yesterday, and he's only played in two of their three games because he did not play in Saturday's game.
But Joey Weimar in two games for the Nats this year, a player who, by the way, was designated for assignment three times just in the last seven months, was acquired by the Nats on a January waiver claim.
Weimer through two games is six for six with two walks.
He's hitting a thousand.
His OBP on base percentage, a thousand.
He has two home runs, a triple three singles, two walks, and no outs.
According to Elias Sports Bureau, he joins Steve Henderson and Jeremy Hazel Baker
as the third player since 1961 to reach in each of his first eight plate appearances to start the season.
That is an unbelievable start.
the Nats play Philly tonight in the first of a three-game set.
I would hope that he is in the lineup.
The caps have actually been playing well.
They beat Vegas five to four the other night.
The problem is that they can't make up any ground on the teams in front of them,
because the teams in front of them continue to win as well.
And right now, the two wildcard teams are Boston.
Austin and Columbus, and the Nats are five points behind Columbus with three teams in between
and eight games left.
I mean, their chances are less than 10% of making the post season.
So out of the league meetings in San Francisco, there is some news, and the 49ers head coach
Kyle Shanahan and the owner, Jed York.
We're asked about Brandon Ayuk today.
Shanahan said, with respect to a release or a trade,
I don't have a date for it, but I know it will eventually resolve itself.
Hopefully we can get something for him.
And I know we're in no rush to do that.
You've got to do what's right for the Niners,
and you're not trying to hook up any other team as fast as you possibly can.
Hopefully we can get something for that, and it'll take care of itself.
Close quote.
So the 49ers, you know, they're not happy with Ayuk.
And they're not going to do him any favors.
And they're not going to do the team that's acquiring him, even if it's off waivers,
any favors by getting him earlier than June 2nd.
Jed York, the owner of the 49ers, after Kyle Shanahan spoke, asked about Ayuk, said,
I think anything's possible.
We want to make sure that we have as talented of a roster as possible.
First and foremost, he needs to get healthy and be able to perform.
I think once that happens, he's a really, really good football player, closed quote.
Sounds to me like Kyle probably should not have been sharing this idea of we're not doing anybody any favors here, including him,
and instead should have spoke more glowingly about the player.
if they want to get something for him, you know, to potentially, you know,
give the impression that maybe they aren't moving on from Ayuk, which is what York did,
maybe a more seasoned negotiator, the owner.
So that's the news on Ayuk.
The, what else did we have from the NFL today?
Oh, the Rams admitted that they explore.
explored trading
Devante Adams
in the off season.
Sean McVeigh saying,
if we felt like it was best for our team,
we would have done that.
But ultimately, we didn't think it was
best for the team.
But they did explore.
McVeigh acknowledged
they explored trading
Devante Adams.
I mean, that combination
of Nakua and Adams
last year, good God.
And, you know, they have incredible tight ends, even though they lost one of their tight ends in free agency.
But with Higbee and the guy Parkinson and their backs, obviously, with Kyron Williams and Blake Quorum, you get Matt Stafford back.
The Rams are the favorite, you know, preseason favorite to win the whole thing.
And McVeigh also actually pitched publicly for Kirk Cousins to join the Rams.
He would back up Stafford, obviously, but he was asked about the early days in Washington by somebody and went on and on about what a great time it was and how much his sort of evolution is an offensive coach, offensive coordinator, synced up with Kirk Cousins being the starter.
Yeah, anyway, that's it.
no other big NFL news.
We'll save some of the Tiger stuff for Tommy tomorrow.
Talked a little bit about it on Friday show because the news was kind of breaking as it was happening.
Or maybe it broke right after I finished recording the show.
I think right at the very end of the show, it broke.
But we'll save some of that for tomorrow.
All right.
That's it for the day.
Back tomorrow.
