Starting point is 00:00:02 You don't want it. You don't need it. But you're going to get it anyway. The Kevin Cheon Show. He is Kevin. Tommy's here. I am here. The show's presenting sponsor as always as Window Nation.
Starting point is 00:00:14 Call them at 86690 Nation or head to Window Nation. If you need new windows. It is Thursday, January 16th, just two days before Washington will play in their first divisional round game in 19 years. couple of emails, Tommy, to read real quickly. This from Ty to start the show. The Ben Johnson thing makes sense to me. Sam Howe is just a shorter version of Jared Goff and he's a rhythm passer. Not sure why you panned it so quickly.
Starting point is 00:00:50 For those that don't know what Ty is talking about, and I talked about it on the podcast yesterday, there was this report from some podcast called Rambling. with Rio U.S. Bet. Sabah sent it to me. My guy Seth and Potomac sent it to me. And actually, I've now seen it out there on the, on social media and on the internet, being repurposed. And it basically goes like this. The report was that Ben Johnson wanted Sam Howell to be his quarterback. And when he found out that they planned on drafting a quarterback last year, that Adam Peters was planning on drafting a quarterback last year. He told him he didn't want to interview with them.
Starting point is 00:01:37 So they turned the plane around and went back. And I said on the podcast yesterday, I don't really think that there's much of a chance that that is true. Sam Howe, instead of using the number two pick in the draft on a quarterback, even if Jaden Daniels wasn't his favorite, you're going to tell me that, you know, Drake May or J.J. McCarthy. And then let's face it, Ben Johnson didn't take a job last year. He wasn't ready for a job.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Look, he may not be ready for a job this year. I think the coaching carousel is an interesting one right now. If Dion ends up in Dallas and Mike McCarthy ends up in Chicago, and Ben Johnson doesn't get one of those two jobs, you know, you saw where Brady, by the way, is interested in wooing Ben Johnson to the Raiders. By the way, more on the Brady thing and him calling the game on Sunday in a moment.
Starting point is 00:02:34 But, Ty, Sam Hal, by the way, is a much shorter version than Jared Goff, number one. Number two is there was nothing rhythmic about Sam Hal as a passer. All due respect. He had a lot of arm talent. There's no doubt about that. He was a bit of a gunslinger, but his problem was he couldn't.
Starting point is 00:02:58 see it and didn't process it very quickly. Gough is actually the opposite of that. There's no similarities in my opinion between Jared Gough and Sam Howell. And I very much doubt, and all due respect to the podcast that put it out there, I don't know anything about it. I would bet a lot of money that there is no truth to that story at all. It just, some critical thinking and not a lot of it would give you, you know, I think your answer on that. If that's the case, if that was the case, why didn't he tell the lions to go after him when he was available? Yeah. Well, he had Jared Goff. You mean, it's a backup? A backup. A backup. Yeah, I don't know. If he's coveted him so much, he would have done anything to get his hands on him.
Starting point is 00:03:52 If he covered him more than that quarterback class that was available last year, he would have said, go get this guy. We need to get him in the building, okay? Yeah. Honestly, the chances of that being true are slim and none. Yes. Yeah. I mean, you keep, like particularly, I mean, you would think most offensive coordinators
Starting point is 00:04:17 with a chance to draft a quarterback of their own. I mean, that they could mold would jump at it in almost any year, let alone a year where there was such a high profile class. And let alone when your option is Sam Howl. I mean, come on. I mean, nice kid, has some armed talent, you know, the whole thing. We saw, and maybe he'll be the Sam Darnold of three or four years down the road if he gets in the right situation. Who knows? I can tell you this, when he had to come in for Gino Smith in that Thursday night or Monday night game, that was really hideous.
Starting point is 00:04:57 And I even said the next day, Sam Howell's better than what he showed in that game. Sam Howell is a backup quarterback in the NFL. Nothing wrong with that. He proved that he's a backup quarterback in the NFL. He's just not at his height and his processing ability right now anyway. He's not, you know, a real legitimate upper-tier starter. Here's another one that I want to read because I actually think it's interesting and we can play with this for a little bit. Nick writes us. Nick writes, hey Kevin, I'm a 19-year-old diehard fan who has been through it in the past.
Starting point is 00:05:33 I love to listen to your podcast every day on my walks to class. Anyway, I want to say how nice it is to finally have something to look forward to. I feel like we can beat anybody, but I'm not unrealistic in that I don't think we will win this week. Jaden gives me hope, but seeing DQ and AP, I feel like they can bring us back to the promised land. One more quick thing. If you could add two players in franchise history, one from offense and one from defense to the roster today in their prime, who would you pick? For me, it would be Green and Moss. So I think he's referring to Daryl Green and Santana Moss.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Darrell Green would be a good choice. If you could add one player from the past on offense and one player from the past on defense for this particular team in their prime, that's a really good question. I mean, to play with here, we'll get to the game itself and get Tommy's reaction to the game on Sunday night because Tommy wasn't with us on Tuesday. But can I just tell you that the first name that came to my mind was Dexter Manly on defense?
Starting point is 00:06:49 Yes, yes. Yes, the best past rusher they've ever had. Because they desperately need somebody that would really be a massive impact player on defense. And Dexter would be a problem in his prime for anybody. Look, I love Frankie Louvo, I love Bobby Wagner. The news, by the way, today is great on Bobby Wagner. He practiced.
Starting point is 00:07:15 it looks like he will be a go on Saturday night in Detroit. Dexter, I thought defense first, because I'm like this team needs help defensively. Dexter was number one. Daryl Green would definitely be number two for me. But I think I want the pass rusher before the corner on this team. I would agree because the pass rusher can cause a lot of havoc more than just, making it difficult for the quarterback to connect down the field with his receiver. He can create a lot more havoc.
Starting point is 00:07:53 It's a close call because I'm just thinking about how they got absolutely torched by Mike Evans last week with Marshawn Latimore on the field. But Baker Mayfield is on his ass half the game if Dexter Manley is there. There is that. There is that. You know what's so funny about this question is in any other season, any other season, we'd immediately go to, all right, Sunny or Joe? Like, which quarterback are we going to go back and pluck for this team? We're not even thinking about quarterback because we don't have to think about quarterback.
Starting point is 00:08:35 But I think, I do think that the top two choices on defense in some order would be Dexter and Daryl Green. Okay, but he wants us to pick one on offense and one on defense. I know that. So I'm going to stick with my first thought, which would be Dexter. It's a close call, though, but I'll stick with Dexter. All right, on offense, this is where it gets interesting. Because part of me just wants to put Rigo in the back field. So that you got a chance to run the football.
Starting point is 00:09:09 And by the way, it's almost like putting Derek Henry in the backfield. You know, they're kind of similar in that you got Lamar and Derek Henry, you know, at an older age, has benefited significantly from Lamar. And it doesn't seem like we are benefiting with our running backs at all by Jaden being a run threat. But that's also partly due to the offensive line. So there are a couple of choices on the O line. And then you'd love a second receiver. There are a lot of choices here. Give me the name that came to your mind first.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Riggins, John. Yeah, yeah. I mean, that's the guy who would make Jaden so much better, the guy who you could run 10-minute possessions, time of possession drives with, that guy. That's, to me, to be honest with you, my second choice would be Gary Clark. Yes, that's one of the first people that came to my mind,
Starting point is 00:10:10 was Gary Clark, and it actually came to my mind before Art Monk. Monk would be great, don't get me wrong, but Clark opposite Terry McClureen to have two big play guys, also two guys who are decent possession guys, and to have him and his intensity, I mean, yeah, I thought about Gary Clark immediately. I also thought about Jake, and I thought about Russ Grimm, and I thought about Jim Lachet.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I mean, Lechay or Jake, you know, Trent Williams in his prime, we miss Trent Williams' best years they were in San Francisco. But you need a, you desperately need a left tackle right now. And I'm not against Brandon Coleman and his development and what he'll end up being. But for right now, for Saturday night, Dexter Manly, and then, I mean, I think, I think I want the big game. I want another big game closer, and it would probably be Rigo. Yeah. We have the exact same picks then. I know that that's a make for a great podcast. I know, I know. That's who I would pick. I would pick Rigo. I just saw, there's a video floating that around about Howie Long talking about Riggins.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Okay. What did he say? And, well, talking about what a load he was to bring down, how when you hit Riggins, your body shook from head to toe. And this is how he long. This is a defense, a whole-faint defensive tackle, a legitimate tough guy. And he talked about Riggins like he was the most powerful being he had ever faced on a football field. And then he talked about he, he mentioned Derek Henry. He mentioned Derek Henry. And he talked about his speed.
Starting point is 00:12:06 You know, he mentioned the Super Bowl run. And he just raised about Rigo. Look, I think there are a lot of comparisons between Rigo and Derek Henry. I think they're very, it's the right comparison. Yeah. So that's what he was on my mind anyway. And I think, like, I think he opens up so much more for you to do. I think he would scare defenses, you know.
Starting point is 00:12:34 So, yeah, Rigo and Dexter. I think those would be the two biggest impact guys. For this team, too, it would fill two huge needs. And Echler would kind of become like, you know, the Joe Washington to Rigo. But, you know, they're desperate for better line play, and it would go a long way towards, you know, maybe their rushing attack, which is obviously dropped off with the exception of the quarterback. I mean, the thing about Rigo is you would have on offense at that point two killer closers
Starting point is 00:13:13 at quarterback and at running back. And I mean, I think, you know, all of you understand what Rigo was. Rigo is one of the greatest clutch performers in the history of this city, sports-wise. I mean, there isn't anybody that came up bigger in the bigger moments. than Rigo did, you know, witness his, you know, 82 March to a Super Bowl MVP, averaging 152 and a half yards per game over, you know, over a stretch of four playoff games. I mean, his average for the playoffs in his career is 110 yards. And over four yards per carry.
Starting point is 00:13:58 But anyway, yeah, interesting question. Thanks for that, Nick. Yes, it is. I appreciate it. Yeah, for a 19-year-old fan, that's pretty sharp. That is really sharp, and it's great to have some 19-year-old fans around. Yeah. All right, so we haven't talked since Sunday night.
Starting point is 00:14:16 You wrote a really good column about calibration and recalibration and secret sauce with Dan Quinn. Give me your recap of the win over Tampa Bay. Well, you know, it's when you write about this team now, I mean, you can have two choices. You can write the nuts and bolts, you know, about what's going on and why they're where they are and the challenges they may face and all that. Or you could just get in the front of the parade and say, oh, my God. You know, not only it's the quarterback. something we've never seen before.
Starting point is 00:15:01 It looks like we hit the lottery with this coaching staff and this head coach and Dan Quinn. I mean, you know, like his performance in that game was amazing. And, you know, I was against going for those fourth downs.
Starting point is 00:15:18 But upon reflection, it made sense. Oh, you were? You know, but all of them? Oh, I was initially. Not all of them. I think the first one, maybe the first one. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:28 or the second. Not all of them. Yeah. But, you know, I think it might have been the first one. Get some points on the board. I'm thinking, you know, all this. But he had a strategy at which Collinsworth mentioned during the broadcast where he saw Tampa at a time of possession offense,
Starting point is 00:15:48 and he wanted to keep the ball away from them possessing the ball for any length of time. And he felt like it was more important for them to continue to, to risk continuing the drive than to give it up and then play defense. So, I mean, so I'm Lee, I'm helping
Starting point is 00:16:08 leading the parade. That's my thing. I mean, Jane Daniels, I mean, you say the same things about him every week. You know, I mean, Todd Bulls was just all of him. You know, the Tampa coach with what he had to say. And, you know, every time I think they can't do it,
Starting point is 00:16:26 because they're off. They got beat up on the line on both sides of the line yet again, and they didn't run the ball except for Jane yet again. And I said the week before he's going to need help, you know, but he pretty much did it again. He did it again. Yeah, he did it again. He just keeps doing it.
Starting point is 00:16:51 I mean. He's not only the guy who when he gets on the bus, his teammates look at him and say we can win with that guy, he's driving that bus. Yeah. It's really one of the, this season has been so memorable. I mean, look, I think this game's Saturday night, which we're, you know, closing in on, what are we here as we're recording this about 48, 7, about 55 hours away from, It's the most anticipated game for this franchise, you know, as the Redskins, as the Washington football team or the commanders this century.
Starting point is 00:17:37 I mean, there are others that, you know, the debut of Gibbs, that first game, the debut of RG3, shock and awe, which you predicted. You know, there have been, you know, a couple of games here and there. And last week was big. I think, though, this going on the, the whole. whole country now is in on this. The television rating numbers of his games are through the roof. They're in primetime Saturday night. Now, they had to play on Saturday because the Rams Vikings game on Monday night, that winner was going to play on Sunday. And so that was always going to be the case, is that the Rams Vikings winner was going to play on Sunday, whether it was at Detroit or
Starting point is 00:18:24 at Philadelphia, Washington was going to end up playing this Saturday game if they won. I, yeah, I can't believe that it's not, see, I think I talked about this yesterday or maybe the day before that, you know, somebody had mentioned we're going maybe a little bit overboard that is it possible? It's just because we haven't had one for so long that we're, no, the entire NFL punditry is going crazy over this. Read Chase Daniels. Read Chase Daniels timeline on X.
Starting point is 00:19:04 And tell us it's just, that Washington has, it is kind of in awe because they haven't had a quarterback. What did he write? Chase Daniels, he keeps saying, we've never seen a quarterback like this as a rookie. I mean, he just responds over the guy. Yeah, but what did I do?
Starting point is 00:19:21 It's beyond, it's beyond the rookie thing. he is right now in the class without the experience it would be the one difference of Mahomes and Alan and Jackson and Burrow he's a top five quarterback in the NFL right now there's okay here's what uh here's what teddy bruskey said on jane uh jane daniels the rookie rules don't apply they don't apply to this guy this is the best rookie quarterback I've seen. I know, but I get your point. You know, we don't limit him just being a great rookie.
Starting point is 00:20:02 He's beyond that. I get that. Yeah. Well, that's the point. If he was just a great rookie, then you'd put some limitations on this. I'm not putting any limitations on him. Like, the one thing leading up to the game last week, I'm like, he's going to play well, okay? We've seen enough to know he's going to play well.
Starting point is 00:20:24 They're going to move the football and they're going to score. And I say that going into Saturday night. He's going to play well. They're going to move the football and they're going to score. The only issue is, are you going to be able to score more than the other team because the defense is a problem? And by the way, the offensive football team they face Saturday night is the best offensive football team they faced all year.
Starting point is 00:20:47 and the environment will be different. You know, it's not, there were a lot of skins fans in Raymond James Stadium. It's not going to be that Saturday night more likely than not at Ford Field. The price to get in for this game, I'll look it up real quickly, but my son sent me something the other day. I mean, you're talking about like a thousand bucks for the upper deck to get into this game. This game is a massive game in terms of demand for tickets. Yeah, on Stubhubhub right now, let's see. I'm seeing some $500 prices for the very, very high upper deck seats,
Starting point is 00:21:33 you know, some 400 and 500. That's not what I saw the other day. I don't know why the price would be coming down. Who knows. But anyway, yeah, he's an elite quarterback right now. They have the best quarterback remaining in the NFC. Yeah, Chase Daniel. The commanders have found themselves the next great quarterback in the NFL.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Yeah, I like Chase. I like Chase Daniel. He's doing it with... He's most clutch when the games are on the line. Yeah. Love it. So it's not just a parochial position. No.
Starting point is 00:22:13 I've tried to get him on the show a couple times this year. He's excellent. And he's been doing the podcast with Diana Rusini. I don't know why I haven't just asked her to help me get him on. But anyway, yeah, you have the best quarterback in the NFC draw. Four teams left, and he's better than any of the four. Look, I think Matt Stafford is really special as a quarterback and this time of year, and he looked great Monday night.
Starting point is 00:22:44 And he's got the experience, and he's been there, and Jaden doesn't have that experience. It's the one thing that's missing. but he didn't have the experience on Sunday night, and with 441 to go and a Kai game, there isn't anybody that's watched him this year that didn't think that he was going to drive him down the field and be in a position to win it with a touchdown or a walk-off field goal. Like Todd Ball says, he has no conscience. No conscience.
Starting point is 00:23:13 No conscience. He's not, like I wrote, he's sitting there on the bench, like he's waiting. for the red line at the next metro stuff. While all chaos is going on around them. I had Herman Edwards on the radio show today, and he coached him, of course, at Arizona State. Right. And he said, you know, he talked about his humility, which we've heard all year long.
Starting point is 00:23:38 And he said, it's been that way from the jump. It's never about him. It's always about the team. And I think all of us love hearing that. We can't hear it enough. because we don't know these people, you know, from where we sit. We don't know them. And sometimes the teams don't even know them when they draft them.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Sometimes the teams don't even know them early in their career. But over and over again, everybody you talk to is emphasized. He's just such a natural, you know, humble, likable teammate. And it's about everybody else. It's never about him. His post-game interviews when he comes off the field, you know, and they grab him off the field, it's usually about the team. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:30 This, you know, it's recently, it's been about the fans. Right. And how much it means to the fans. You know, he's been here five minutes and he recognizes that. So, no, I've never seen him come off the field and talk, say, I, I, I, I, me, me, me. I mean, the only thing missing from his communication resume at this point is an outside interview in Ashburn waiting for the planes to pass so that everybody can hear him clearly.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Oh, my God. I like the other guy. He doesn't care that much about the media either. No, he doesn't. I love that. I mean, he's, well, it's a completely different personality profile in so many ways. ways, including, by the way, personality. Okay?
Starting point is 00:25:19 Like, RG3, no matter what we say about him, he's got some personality. You know, even in those Heisman ads, you know, he's an actor. Like, he's got some chops. But I'll never forget that day. Oh, my God, the day you came in and you were in total lust and you were smitten with our because during the interview, he started to answer a question, and then the planes were flying over top, and he waited and he said, just want to make sure that you guys, you know, don't have the plane noise in the answer. And you just thought that was the greatest thing that
Starting point is 00:26:02 you had ever seen. I know. And this guy, he doesn't care about that. No. He'll answer your question, but, you know, he's not going to do your job for you. Oh, he'll answer the question on the tarmac and not give it two seconds thought about whether or not you can hear him. He's hoping that we can't hear him. All right. You've got a prediction on this game.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Anything else on the Tampa game? We'll start with the Detroit game in the next segment. But do you have anything else that you want to say about Sunday night? It was certainly a memorable game, that's for sure. Yeah, and I was watching on TV like most of us were, and you could tell there was a large commander's presence that came through to tell of it. Yeah, no doubt. In the stands.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Yep. Yeah. All right, Tommy's prediction coming up. We've got other things to get to as well. We'll start doing that right after these words from a few of our sponsors. Starting point is 00:33:52 I don't go to sports bars to watch them. I don't go to bars to watch them. I don't go over to friends' houses to watch them with a bunch of people. I will watch it with my boys, with my sons and my wife, although she doesn't have a lot of interest in it. But I can't watch a game that means a lot to me. I can't watch it with other people. And the reason I thought of that is I also will not drink. I won't have, if I'm watching a game or with a bunch of people that, you know, playoff game or, you know, NCAA tournament game or whatever, you know, I'll have a few beers or whatever and I'll join the party.
Starting point is 00:34:38 But when I am dialed in to my team, it's serious business. Now, I understand, too, that the job, and I ended up doing a lot with sort of the recap of it. And that's part of it. But even before I did this, I needed to be by years ago before I started to have kids, I needed to be by myself to watch a Redskins game. I couldn't be around other people. I think other people that are listening understand. Some of you are the same way.
Starting point is 00:35:12 But when it is your, when it is that important, you don't want to be distracted. So for those of you that aren't going to Shelly's, I understand. But Shelly's is a great spot to watch the game. Yes, it is. Now, I'm the opposite. I like being around people to watch games. Like when I was a Jets fan, all my boys would come over to my house, and we'd watch the Jets
Starting point is 00:35:39 game together, you know. So I like being in a bar and watching the game. In fact, we've been watching a playoff game in a sports bar down here, except for the commander's game. You know, like you said, that's what I'm talking about. I have to pay attention to that for my job. I know. I know. But I'm saying... That's a big part of it.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Yeah, no, I get it. And that's part of it for me, too, but it really wouldn't matter. I don't mind, and I actually enjoy being with a lot of people watching games. I mean, lots of times on a Saturday, a college football Saturday, you're with friends, and, you know, you're drinking and you're hanging out. but when it's that team that you are invested in in a major way and you've got a true emotional attachment to it, no man, I can't be at a sports bar watching it, no chance. I could do the emotional attachment. I mean, I couldn't, again, that's business. Like when it was my team, I had no problem being around a crowd of people watching it.
Starting point is 00:36:47 I mean, I went to games. I view the game, look, let's face it, I view the game differently now than I did as a fan 30, 40 years ago. Right. You know? So I'm looking at different things now as opposed to when I was a jet fan watching the game with my buddies. Now, if I'm at a game and I went to every single Skins home game, you know, for years, I mean, that was different. Although it was essentially the same group of people, you know, when I was young, it was my father and my uncle. And as I got older, it was my brother, me and usually a friend of mine.
Starting point is 00:37:27 So there would be three of us. We had three seats that would go to the games. That was not an issue at all. But when they're playing a road game and it's a big game, it's really hard. Like a big Maryland basketball game, I'm dialing. then. I can't be with a large group of people. Although I do remember one tournament game, their first tournament game back after probation when Gary took him to the tournament for the first time in 94. Right. And they played St. Louis on a Thursday afternoon at 12 noon. It was the first
Starting point is 00:38:11 game of the tournament. And some of you will remember one of the really great neighborhood bars in Bethesda way back in the day, T-Bones. My good friend Carl McCarty owned it, ran it with Gary, who was an investor. There were a bunch of people in town that were involved in it. And the line to get into T-Bones, I'll never forget it, for a 12 o'clock Maryland tournament start was around the block. But I was already in there. And that was, I do remember, because it was just, it was a party, and they won the game. They ended up going to the Sweet 16 that year. But anyway, all right, enough of that. I wanted to mention before we get to your prediction. There are a couple of things, and I'll get into, in more detail tomorrow, sort of keys to
Starting point is 00:38:55 an upset win over Detroit. There's something that I came across that I wanted to read to you guys. Detroit, most of you know, has been struggling on defense. They have lost so many players to injured reserve. You know, basically 15 different defensive players are either on injured reserve or have been on injured reserve. A big plus for them is it looks like their rookie corner, Terry and Arnold, the first round pick from Alabama, has been a full go in practice. So it looks like he will be ready for the game. But they have struggled defensively as they've lost players. They had that really impressive performance against Minnesota in the season finale in that big game. I mean, talk about a season ending abruptly.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Minnesota's 14 and 2. They're celebrating like hell, and eight days later, they've lost two games, and their season's over, and their quarterback played horribly in both games. But, you know, I went through a lot of the numbers. I mean, Caleb Williams had big games against Detroit's defense. Brock Purdy lit them up a few weeks ago. And Josh Allen, their last true dual threat quarterback that they faced, he had 362 through the air.
Starting point is 00:40:10 He had 68 rushing yards. They put up 559 yards on the Lions defense and 48 points. That was a month ago. And that was the last time they played an offense as explosive as the one they are going to play with certainly a dual threat quarterback like Jaden Daniels and Josh Allen. Well, listen to this statistic, all right? Detroit has given up in quarterback runs and or scrambles. They've allowed 449 quarterback rushing yards this year,
Starting point is 00:40:51 167 yards after contact, six touchdowns on 68 attempts. The average yards allowed per carry for quarterbacks against Detroit's defense, 6.6 yards per carry. It is the second worst in the league, and their EPA, their expected points added per rushing attempt by quarterbacks, is the NFL's sixth worst. And it's much worse now in recent games with the loss of players. One of the reasons for that is the injuries, for sure,
Starting point is 00:41:29 but they also play, they also blitz out of very, very high rate and they play the highest rate of man-to-man coverage of any team in the league. So you guys understand when you've got a mobile quarterback and you turn your back in man coverage to that mobile quarterback, it is a lot easier for big scramble opportunities, especially if you are blitzing that quarterback. So this sets up for, I think, actually, a bigger opportunity of, offensively on Saturday night against the Lions than even on Sunday night against Tampa. Tampa had a very good defensive front. It was very hard to run against Tampa.
Starting point is 00:42:16 This, I think, is setting up for, you know, again, Josh Allen's game one month ago against this team, the Detroit Lions, as they were really in the midst of losing all of these players. Josh Allen in a 48 to 42 win over the Lions went 23 of 34 for 362 and two touchdowns, rushed the ball 11 times for 68 yards. James Cook in that game, 14 carries 105 yards. They rushed for 197 through for 362, 559 yards of offense. They averaged 8.2 yards per play. And they only punted once in the entire game. Sound familiar, although Washington didn't punt at all.
Starting point is 00:43:09 This is a better matchup, Tommy, for Washington's offense than Tampa Bay was. And I was bullish that they were going to be able to move the football and score points against Tampa. And they dominated possession. They ran 25 more plays. They didn't punt. They didn't turn the ball over. Now, it's a much bigger challenge defensively against Detroit's offense, but man, I think this sets up for a big, big night for Jaden Daniels. Whether or not it's enough, you know, Buffalo needed to score, they scored 48, they gave up 42.
Starting point is 00:43:48 So this is the kind of game we could see Saturday night in Detroit. But just I thought the man coverage, I knew they were a heavy man coverage team, number one in the league, and they have given up the most scramble quarterback yardage, run yardage by quarterbacks of any team in the league. All right. Time for your thoughts on this game and then your prediction. Well, that was a good observation by you to pick that game as an example. of the possibilities for Jane Daniels in this game. It makes a lot of sense to me. You know, at this point, my philosophy is totally for the next three games that they'll play.
Starting point is 00:44:44 My philosophy is I am not betting against the quarterback. I am not going. You said the next three games. Are you expecting three more games? Well, I'm just saying. I'm just saying. You know? New Orleans.
Starting point is 00:44:59 I've got the word. New Orleans. As of now, I'll be in New Orleans. If Jane Daniels is there. Yeah. We'll have to think about that one for sure, even though we have... No, I'll be there. I've already been told I'll be there.
Starting point is 00:45:14 I know you'll be there, but I'd like to be there as well. Yes. All right. So I'm not betting. I'm not going against the quarterback. I've got the commanders winning 37 to 35, four touchdowns alone from Jay and Daniels. It's either throwing the ball or running the ball. 37 to 35.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Wow. Yeah. Well, what was your prediction last week? Actually, I had the three-point margin right, but I had 33-30, and it was 23-20. You had 33-30, Washington, right? Yes. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:54 That's a good prediction. Yeah. All right. 3735 Washington, and they're off to the NFC championship game. Wow. Yes. Wow. Yes, I know.
Starting point is 00:46:09 I know. Well, again, I mean, I am of the school's thought at some point, you know, you need to stop banging yourself on the head. and thinking too hard about it and just picking the champ, picking the guy who keeps winning. You know, you've got to go with him. No matter what, no matter what formula you come up with to convince you otherwise. Okay, there's a stage where you just got to keep riding that horse. Yeah. Until he proved otherwise, until he proved he could lose here,
Starting point is 00:46:49 He's the winner. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of the way you feel about Mahomes now because he has it on his resume. But because of the circumstances of five basically walk-off wins, five game-winning drives that have led to either walk-off wins or scores in the final six seconds to win games, it feels like you want to give him that Mahomes benefit of the doubt right now that you just can't bet against him. It doesn't matter if he doesn't have the weapons. It doesn't matter if the defense isn't that good. That's where I'm at.
Starting point is 00:47:29 I know. I mean, because I can usually say that, you know, like I didn't, I felt skeptical, even though I picked Washington in the Tampa game, and that was because I thought they were, I thought they would lose the line battles. You know, I didn't think the offensive, the running game would help him as much as he needed. I didn't think he would get the help that he needed.
Starting point is 00:47:52 I just didn't think he could sustain this yet again, even though I picked him to win, you know? So I was torn then. I'm not torn this week. I did something this morning on radio with Denton, my producer, and we took calls on this. This is not going to be something that you're familiar with, I don't think. but maybe you are. Before games like this, sometimes I'll get into this mode of,
Starting point is 00:48:20 you know, I might be in the car, I might be sitting here, doing nothing, I might be in the shower, I might be in bed, and I will start to play out in my mind how the game will go. And I'm always playing it out in my mind so that the team that I'm rooting for wins the game.
Starting point is 00:48:37 But I think especially I do this when, you know, there appears to be a side that most people think will win the game. They are 10-point underdog. You know, 9.5. 10-point underdog. Detroit's kind of been the team of destiny this year. They've never been to a Super Bowl. This is going to be it. They're the number one seed.
Starting point is 00:48:59 They get home field advantage throughout, et cetera. But I played it out on radio today, but it was kind of something that I had already thought of. I'm not going to give you the whole spiel. other than to say that I think they're going to somehow they're going to end up with the ball to start the game. If Detroit wins, they'll defer to force Washington to go on offense against the crowd at its best, which is always at the beginning of a game,
Starting point is 00:49:25 more so than it is at the beginning of a third quarter. And I think Washington may say to hell with it, if we win the toss, we're taking the ball this week. We're taking the ball and we're going to go down there. We're going to take the lead. Because I do think getting a lead or certainly, keeping this within a one-score game as long as you can, the pressure really starts to build on the Lions. But I see a shootout. Last week, you know, I gave out the under because everybody
Starting point is 00:49:54 was on the over, and I predicted 27-23, Washington, which came in just a half-point under the total, and the game ended up staying under by a lot at 23 to 20. This week, look, this is, don't mistake what I'm going to say with my actual pick, I'll give that on the show tomorrow, along with, unfortunately, maybe a smell test pick on Detroit because they are loaded up on the skins. There is a national public betting love for number five right now, and they think the line's too big for him. And I do too in so many ways, but that won't stop me from doing what I do with the smell test, which, you know, has won 11 out of the last 13 weeks. But I played this out as just, I don't see either defense stopping the other.
Starting point is 00:50:47 I see a first half score of like 28 to 24. Like Washington gets the ball four times and scores four touchdowns, and the Lions get it four times, and maybe Washington holds them to a field goal. Like at a half time, we're sitting there with 52 points. And then maybe in the second half there are a couple of adjustments, maybe there's a little bit of pressure on some drives, a couple of penalties. but when you said 37-35, I landed on in this imaginary thing that I do, 38-34 Washington. I can see your scenario where people just, whoever has the ball is going to march down the field and score.
Starting point is 00:51:30 Yeah, I mean, it's going to be, I talked about this Monday, Tuesday. This game is the easiest pre-game analysis from our seat. that we'll ever have, just like last week was. Two really good offenses, I mean really good offenses, and two defenses who aren't that great. And the team that plays better offense and plays clean offense and doesn't hurt themselves will win the game. Last week, Washington and Tampa Bay both played pretty good offense. Washington played better offense, and Tampa made the critical errors. They botched the jet sweep and they fumbled inside their own 15, and on third and inches, they snapped the ball before everybody was ready.
Starting point is 00:52:17 And that's what this game is. I mean, nobody's going to sit there having watched these two teams and say, you know, really we love kind of the matchups with our corners on their receivers or our front seven against their run game. No. anybody that has watched football over the last month and a half, two months knows these two teams, what do they do? They move the football. They move it sometimes, you know, in three downs, often in four downs, because they go for it a lot. Both of these coaches will go for it a lot. They move it in short distances.
Starting point is 00:52:57 They move it in chunks. They move it on the ground. They move it through the air. On the ground for Washington recently, it's been the quarterback. who's been running the football. But they both are teams that are capable of saying, all right, you want to take that away? Well, we'll beat you this way.
Starting point is 00:53:12 You know, you want to take away the quarterback as a runner. He's going to beat you with the arm. You want to try to load up to stop Jemir Gibbs and David Montgomery. We'll throw it to a Monro, St. Brown, and Jameson Williams, and Sam Leporta. If this game, last week I said, look, it'll, you know, per typical NFL not knowing anything, it'll end up being 17-14 or 16-13.
Starting point is 00:53:37 It was 23-20, but the only reason it wasn't a high-scoring game is because it was a very low-possession game. Washington didn't punt in the game. They scored on five of seven possessions, and Detroit scored on four of seven possessions. You could end up with 28-27 because of a low-possession game this week, but if you get more possessions and more explosives, you could end up with a 37-35 final, no doubt. 38-34.
Starting point is 00:54:11 I think, honestly, of the four divisional round playoff games, Baltimore and Buffalo's number one for, I think, NFL fans, but this one is easily number two. I think so. And listen, everybody, all you commanders fans out there, enjoy it. no matter what it happens, enjoy this. Okay, it's going to be exciting. It's going to be thought. It may be painful.
Starting point is 00:54:37 What are you saying? Are you telling everybody it's okay if they lose? No, I'm not. I'm telling everybody, don't get a... Don't be anxious going into the game. Embrace it. You know what Coach Thompson would say? I remember him saying this.
Starting point is 00:54:56 If you get there, don't be happy to be there. Go win the MFer. I mean, and they are there. You cannot, look, great quarterback play. But that's not what I'm saying. Okay. I'm saying, don't be nervous before the game. Embrace where you are.
Starting point is 00:55:16 Oh, I'm not nervous about this one. I'm not nervous. I'm excited about this one. Yes. This is the way you should think. The pressure is on. Detroit. And Tommy, for me anyway, one of the more thrilling things to watch is a sports fan, and I've talked about it over the years, especially this time of year, is to watch a road
Starting point is 00:55:42 team as a big underdog go in and win in a one and done environment. I guess a game seven in the NBA playoffs or the NHL playoffs or Major League Baseball would apply, but there's something about the NFL playoffs and seeing a road team go in and just silence in opposing home crowd. You know, especially when that home crowd is amped up, they expect to win, they're a big favorite, and then all of the sudden an unexpected turn happens. And it's like the pressure starts to build as the game's close or, you know, the road team's winning. I mean, some of the biggest upsets in NFL history have been in this round or maybe next week. You know, obviously these are the weeks where you have home field advantage.
Starting point is 00:56:34 But I remember a couple, I remember the Jags early in their tenure as a franchise. They went to Denver as like a 14 or 15 point playoff underdog with Mark Brunel as the quarterback. It's one of the biggest upsets in history. I mean, Denver was a massive favorite to win the game. And Jacksonville just hung around, hung around, and then they won the game at the end. We've seen it in recent years. We saw Cincinnati go to Arrowhead and win.
Starting point is 00:57:06 We saw, you know, the Rams win in that championship game against the Saints. I don't know. You know, we actually saw it in the regular season, not exactly the same as one and done. But when Michigan went to Ohio State, you know, Thanksgiving weekend is a 23-point underdog. and they had won three straight years, and everybody understood the significance of the game for Ohio State and Ohio State fans. And Michigan, you know, won the game, and it's close throughout.
Starting point is 00:57:35 You could just feel the team and the crowd choking. Remember the Caps in 2010 when they were a big favor over Montreal and the Game 7 and the Halak game, and the crowd, like, just feeling the pressure. of blowing it. I don't know. There's something thrilling about that. And so that's what I'm hoping for. I'm hoping to be able to watch something like that with our team. You know, Gibbs won a lot of road playoff games, man. They went to Chicago twice and won. Those were as thrilling as the home wins. They went to Philly in 1990. That was the follow-up to the body bag game and won
Starting point is 00:58:19 on wild card weekend. It was Buddy Ryan's last game as a coach. I think one of the great revenge games, maybe the number one revenge game in franchise history. There's something about the road team, especially a big road underdog winning in the NFL playoffs. It is so compelling to watch. And I'm excited from that standpoint. I'm not nervous at all. I was a bit nervous the other night because I wanted Jaden not to disappoint anybody and not play well. But it was pretty early. I mean, it took two plays for him to hit Terry McCorn on a 35-yard pass down the field to say, all right, the dude is going to be fine.
Starting point is 00:59:05 I agree. All right. 37, 35, your prediction. Let's finish it up. We'll talk a little bit about the other three playoff games. weather is going to be a factor in the other three playoff games. And I have a question for you about Tom Brady, who will be on the call Saturday night for Fox. We'll get to that more after these words from a few of our sponsors.

They've got everything you need for all four divisional round games, and by the way, the Monday Night National Championship game between Ohio State and Notre Dame. At my bookie right now, Detroit is back up to a 10-point favorite. They were at 9.5 yesterday, and the total up a half point to 55 and a half. Easily, the last, largest total over under number of the weekend, although Baltimore and Buffalo is at 51. And there are plenty of prop bets for this one. Team prop bets, player prop bets. Let me find one
Starting point is 01:03:28 for you right now. You and I both said just gave out 35 points or more. The race to 35 points prop bet. Detroit minus 500. Washington plus 310. So that is a prop bet where you're betting on the first team to get to 35 points. Now if neither team
Starting point is 01:03:53 gets to 35 points, the bet is null and void. But if one of the two teams gets to 35 points and you bet on that team, you collect. Detroit minus 500. The comeback on Washington on that is plus 3.000.
Starting point is 01:04:09 I guess the question in your 37-35 prediction, does Detroit get to 35 before Washington does? Or does Washington win it on a game-winning touchdown or game-winning field goal? Trailing with Detroit having 35? I think so. I would lean towards the way. I would lean towards the way things seem to have unfolded almost every week. Okay. What else can I give you? I gave you passing yards yesterday. Jaden up to, ooh, he's moving up. People must be playing the over in a big way. Jaden's passing yards for the game
Starting point is 01:04:52 right now at 239 and a half. Jared Goff's passing numbers at 270 and a half over under on that one. They've got literally over 150 prop bet opportunities for all four of these games. MyBooky's got it all, including an online casino. MyBooky.ag promo code Kevin, D.C. A couple of things real quickly, because I do want to get your thoughts on the other three
Starting point is 01:05:36 divisional round games. The weather is going to be a factor, man, in a big way in the three outdoor games. Fortunately, Washington's not playing in any of them. But in Kansas City, you're talking about temperatures during the game falling into the mid-teens with wind. No snow for that one. For Philly, there is a chance of snow during the game with temperatures in the low-to-mid-30s. and then Buffalo, Orchard Park, for the game of the weekend between Baltimore and Buffalo.
Starting point is 01:06:10 We're talking about game time temperature, about 14 or 15 degrees, snow showers a possibility with falling temperatures maybe into the single digits by the time the game ends. I was reading that that would be the second coldest game in Bill's playoff history. They played the Patriots a few years ago, and the temperature was near zero. You'd think that the coldest Buffalo game would be even colder than that. But really, Buffalo this time of year, is kind of known more for the snow games than the brutally cold games. But weather's going to be a factor. Like Green Bay would be known for. Weather's going to be a factor in the other three-divisional round games.
Starting point is 01:06:58 So let me ask you real quickly. because I know you will have an interest in the Baltimore Buffalo game. Who do you like and do you have a reason why? Well, Jesus, it's a tough game. I mean, you know, in some ways, they're the same teams, except Buffalo doesn't have a Derek Henry. So I'm going with Baltimore. I don't see a lot of points.
Starting point is 01:07:25 I don't see a lot of points being scored in the game, but I see Derek Henry being the difference maker. Baltimore is favored in this game, people. They are the road team. They are the lower-seeded team, and they are now a one-and-a-half-point favorite at my bookie over the bills. That game opened up Buffalo minus one-and-a-half. Do you have thoughts on Eagles Rams?
Starting point is 01:07:54 I think the Rams have gone as far as they're going to go. The one thing I worry about is the coaching in a game like this because I think the Eagles could easily be out-coached by Sean McVeigh in a game like this. It's a West Coast team coming east, a team that, you know, playing in what could be snow in tough conditions in Philly. I think Philly's, you know, the better team. And if they don't screw it up, I think Philly wins this game.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Chiefs Texans. Do you have a call on that one? Is that a Jaden Daniels you just bet on the quarterback, Mahomes? Yeah, that's just it. Again, you ride Mahomes until he faces Jaden Daniels in the Super Bowl. Then you've got a problem. Real quickly, if Washington advances to their first NFC championship game in 33 years, that would be the first game next weekend on Fox.
Starting point is 01:08:53 So if Washington upsets Detroit and plays either at Philly or at the Rams, wherever that game would be, let's hope to God that they're ready to play at SoFi if they were to win that game and host the conference championship game. That would be the first game on conference championship Sunday. The AFC title game, you know, call it the Chiefs Ravens or Chiefs Bills would be the second game on CBS. that would be kind of cool next week to be in the final four for the first time in so long. There is something that is really cool to see your team playing in the biggest games of the year. We used to have it around here all the time, but that was, you know, that was for old people like me. That was in the 20th century.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Yeah. I have a question for you, because I think it's... an interesting situation. Tom Brady will be on the call with Kevin Burkart Saturday night for Fox in Detroit. Tom Brady is a 5% equity holder in the Las Vegas Raiders organization and he is apparently running the show in terms of the coaching hire for the Raiders. And that includes interviewing Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, the two coordinators in the two coordinators in in Detroit. Does or should, I'm not going to ask if it bothers you,
Starting point is 01:10:29 should it bother Washington fans that Brady's calling this game? I don't think so. I mean, look, the whole conflict of interest argument really became of age during the era of the golden age of newspapers. You know, from the 70s through the 90s, when newspapers were printing money, and they could, you know, basically create a set of rules that they could live by to at least, you know, to present the most unbiased news or at least the cleanest news
Starting point is 01:11:12 you could possibly get without some kind of special interest being served in a conflict of interest. Okay? The conflict of interest argument is not just somebody, as like Tom Brady would want something to happen, you know, would want the Lions to win because he wants Ben Johnson to coach the Raiders. It's the appearance of the conflict of interest. Right.
Starting point is 01:11:37 But there's no more rules anymore, Kevin. There's no rules anymore. It's every man for himself in the media business now. You know, it used to be nice and it was great, and it was worth protecting, you know, knowing that what you were, what you were reading, you know, or what you were hearing did not have a private agenda at work. But now, there's no more rules. You know, and I think most people, they're so,
Starting point is 01:12:09 they're so fatigued by media. They don't particularly care. I don't think people care. God, me. So what? You know, they don't care, but, I mean, they should care, okay? And in an ideal world, he shouldn't be, he shouldn't be an announcer when he owns a piece of the team. But there's no more rules. Well, the rules that they have installed for him is that he is not allowed. He's restricted from doing what most analysts do, which is be involved in the pregame interviews, the pregame activities. You know, he can't go to practice. He can't be involved in production meetings with, you know, coaches or assistant coaches or quarterbacks.
Starting point is 01:12:58 Typically, for those of you who don't know, the two announcers, the play-by-play guy and the analyst, and probably the sideline person who are calling the, you know, who will be calling the game on a Sunday on Fox or CBS or NBC or ESPN, whatever, they'll have the opportunity to sit down with the head coach, sometimes the course, coordinators, the quarterback, usually the day before they'll get to attend a practice on Friday. They're in town a couple of days, typically before the game. And I've always thought, really, and I think I'm right about this, and I think you'd probably agree with me, that a lot of times coaches and quarterbacks won't tell anybody anything, but they'll disclose something to the game announcers.
Starting point is 01:13:48 That the game announcers, and there's a trust there that the game announcers aren't going to break the news before the game, that they're going to use it as a way to work it into the broadcast. But I've always felt like listening to the broadcast and the analyst and the play-by-play guy, you learn something sometimes about what's going on that you wouldn't otherwise know. It's one of the reasons when I did the pre-game show, Tommy, all those years, I would try desperately to get either the play-by-play guy or the analyst on during the pre-game show before the game because they knew stuff. You know, they had learned stuff.
Starting point is 01:14:24 Sometimes, you know, but the problem is, you know, some of you might say, well, why don't you get those people on during the week? Well, they haven't had their meetings with the team at that point. It's usually on Saturdays before the game or late Fridays. But anyway, and we have some of those guys on the shows. Anyway, here's the issue I would have had. If Brady was sitting there with Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn and Dan Campbell and Jared Gough, you know, on Saturday afternoon. or Friday during practice or whenever. And then he's going to meet with the Washington guys.
Starting point is 01:14:57 Or he meets with the Washington guys and then the Detroit guys. And he's trying to woo Ben Johnson to Vegas. Just that appearance of impropriety would be a problem. I certainly wouldn't accuse Brady of sharing secrets. I don't think he would do that. But you can't have a guy that's got an interest in another team and an interest in a particular subject in the game involved in that pre-game activity stuff.
Starting point is 01:15:29 I think after that, I don't really give a shit. I mean, I don't think fans even understand that, you know, some of the information they get comes from these lengthy sit-downs. And I don't know that it really impacts the broadcasts for most people, for most casual fans. Here's the thing. You're protecting, and I know this sounds, you know, kind of
Starting point is 01:15:53 snobbish in a way. But you're trying to avoid the one time where the conflict of interest does hurt a team. Okay. I mean, there may be 99 out of 100 times there's no problem.
Starting point is 01:16:11 The one time when it does, you're trying to protect against that. Right. Okay. It's something that people shouldn't even have to worry about. You know, they shouldn't have to worry about what they're hearing or what they're reading, the person may have another agenda, an actual, you know, agenda that would help them financially or personally.
Starting point is 01:16:35 So you're trying to protect against the very few times that that may happen. But, you know, it's the media business is chaos these days, so it's hard to have rules in a room full chaos. Yeah, I agree with that. And again, I think 90% of people who are watching the games, you know, and are probably more casual fans, 50% of them, they just are thrilled that Tom Brady's calling the game. They probably, they couldn't care less that he is a 5% equity stake in the Raiders. They don't care. Real quickly, because we haven't talked about Brady much this year, I didn't really watch many games with him earlier in the year when he was getting criticized heavily for not being very good. I have watched him a few times in the last few weeks, including the playoff game that they had between the Packers and the Eagles.
Starting point is 01:17:33 I actually think he's pretty good. I don't know what people are talking about. I think Brady, people say that he's way too obvious, that he doesn't have the. voice for it. If somebody, the voice thing clearly doesn't matter to me. Look who I'm having on my show twice a week. That never has bothered me at all. It's content, man.
Starting point is 01:18:03 It's, you know, is the person good or not? I didn't catch Brady early in the year because I think we had games, the skins had games at the same time. But I think he's okay. I mean, is he the greatest I've ever heard? No, but I don't think he's bad. I think he's okay. I don't get worked up about announcers like some people do.
Starting point is 01:18:27 Well, speaking of announcers, yeah, go ahead, finish your thought. No, I was going to say, there are people get worked up that, you know, Al Michaels has passed it. I like hearing out of Michael's, you know. I still like hearing it. And so he may be a little bit past it, so what? I just don't get that worked up about the announcers. I think for me and Al Michaels, it's because I was just the biggest fan of Al Michaels. And there's no doubt that he's not the same announcer that he was five years ago.
Starting point is 01:19:01 You know, no offense, you're not the same co-host. You were five years ago. I'm kidding. All right. I know you wanted to talk about it, and I had it on my list of things because I knew you'd want to talk about it. Bob Euker passed away at the age of 90s. So tell everybody about Bob Euker's impact on baseball. Well, I mean, he played in the Major League six years in the 60s.
Starting point is 01:19:29 He played for the Milwaukee Braves. Wait, what did you just say? He played in his six years. Oh, I'm sorry, in the 1960s. I thought for a second you said like he was playing in his 60s. No. Go ahead. No, no, no. No, no. You see what I have to deal with as a co-host here? Yeah. I don't know why I heard it that way, but go ahead. I don't know why you did.
Starting point is 01:19:53 Yep. But so he wasn't an impact player, obviously. He was an impact broadcaster. And he was one of the funniest guys in American culture, period. As funny as most comedians, you know, and certainly the funniest guy in all baseball. He played on the 64 Cardinals World Series Championship team, and when they took, I think it was that team. I think it was that year. You know, at the end of the season, they take a team picture of everybody, and they had to retake the picture because Yucer and Bob Gibson were sitting next to each other holding hands. What?
Starting point is 01:20:40 We're holding hands while they were sitting next to. to each other in the picture. They did it on purpose. Yeah, right. The picture. Yeah. But that was Uker. That was Uyghur. So they had to retake the team picture. There's so much. You know, he was in those Miller-light commercials.
Starting point is 01:20:57 I must be in the front row. You know, that's what he was known for. He was in the movie Major League. He was so funny as the announcer for Cleveland in Major League. This is one of my favorites. One time I got pulled over at 4 a.m. this is when he was with the Phillies. I got fined $75 for being intoxicated and $400 for being with the Phillies.
Starting point is 01:21:21 Yeah, right. Yeah. He used to be on a Tonight Show all the time. Well, that's where I was introduced to him, is that I think in many ways, tell me if I'm wrong about this, Carson's the one that really made him sort of a pop culture figure. Yes. I think he was on the Tonight Show almost a hundred times. Wow. That's amazing.
Starting point is 01:21:47 Carson loved it because he was really quick and funny. Yeah, and look, he was in a TV show. I never watched the show for Belvedere. I guess it was on a few years. But, you know, he was the lead actor in a TV show. I mean, for a baseball player, that's pretty impressive. Was he a good player? No, he wasn't.
Starting point is 01:22:10 He had a career batting average of 200. Because he would make fun of himself that way. Yeah. Yeah. But he was, he had a great sense of humor. Comedians. Artie Lang and Norm MacDonald, there's some video of them on the Howard Stern show, talking about when they met and they're dealings with Bob Uker.
Starting point is 01:22:34 And it's actually hilarious stories. But Artie Lang said he's one of the funniest guys that he ever met, period. comedians, announcers, anything. And he'll be missed. So you do yourself a favor and go online and watch some Bob Euker tonight show YouTube. Yeah, that sounds like a fun activity. All right, we solved some problems today. Rigo and Dexter.
Starting point is 01:23:02 But Gary Clark, a close second. Thank you, Nick, for that email. That's a good one. Tommy is Jaden Daniels biggest fan if I'm not. All right, I'll talk to on Tuesday. Enjoy the game. Where are you going to watch the game? I'll watch it here in my condo.
Starting point is 01:23:25 Yeah. By myself, like I said, I'm going to be working. So I'll watch it here. All right. I will talk to you on Tuesday. Thanks. I'll be back tomorrow with Jay Gruden and maybe another guest or two as well.
