You don't want it.
You don't need it.
But you're going to get it anyway.
The Kevin Sheehan Show.
Here's Kevin.
On the show today, my top three post draft, Washington Questions.
I'll get to that in the second segment of today's show.
A show presented, as always, by Window Nation 86690 Nation,
windownation.com if you need new windows.
Speaking of Window Nation, Harley, who I've talked about many times over the last 17 years now,
Harley and his brother Aaron were co-founders of Window Nation.
Harley turned 50 yesterday.
Happy birthday again, Harley.
I saw him last night because there was a huge party for him down at the wharf where alt rock band,
The Silver Sun Pickups, performed.
They were great.
I'm a fan of that band.
They've been around for about 25 years.
It was a great party, and guess who came with me to last night's party?
Chris Cooley, who was in town for a wedding that he and I were both a part of.
Congratulations to Hannah and Nick, our friends, who were married on Saturday evening.
The rehearsal dinner was spectacular.
The wedding was spectacular.
But Cooley came with me last night, along with my wife, and it was a great party last night at Pearl.
Street Theater at the Wharf and the performance by Silver Sun Pickups.
Whenever you see a show like that, private show with, you know, 150, 200 people, whatever
it was, it's pretty cool.
And it was great weather.
I mean, the weather this weekend, if you had a wedding or a party, it was perfection.
And it was great to see Cooley as well.
He's on his way back to Wyoming as we speak.
But we hung out all weekend long.
He said to me, he's like, I think I'm going to watch some football in 2026.
He didn't watch a lot of football in 2025.
I think I've mentioned to you, he's not only coaching wrestling,
but he's literally built his own house,
the house that they are going to move into shortly.
He has, he built it, literally himself.
I mean, he had people helping, but it was a lot of him.
But he said he'd like to get back into doing some shows.
with me come fall.
We'll see on that, but of course I would love it if he would join me more than he did in
2025.
But a fun weekend and a great night last night.
And it was great to see a lot of the guys from Window Nation that I haven't seen in a while.
Eric Gulture was great to see him.
Eric listens to this show a lot and does such a great job.
And it's just incredible to have them as a partner and a supporter of
everything that I've done both podcast-wise and radio-wise for a long time now.
No guests on today's show.
I had one scheduled to talk about the schedule as in the NFL schedule,
but it just fell through a little while ago,
but we're in the midst of rescheduling that,
so hopefully later in the week we will get this gentleman on the show.
The NFL schedule may come out, by the way,
a week later than usual, according to several reports, the typical time frame for the NFL
schedule, at least in recent years, has been the second week in May. So if it went at a normal time
based on the last four or five years, it would be out a week from tomorrow or a week from Wednesday,
May 12, 13th, or 14th. But there are reports, several reports out there that the NFL may delay
the schedule release until the week of May 18th because they are in the midst of trying to sell
a standalone package of five games, perhaps to Netflix or YouTube. That package of five games
would likely include, you know, a mix of some of the international games and perhaps
a Thanksgiving Eve game. We've talked about this. There have been reports out there that the
NFL is considering playing on the Wednesday night before Turkey Day, where there is obviously
the traditional triple header with the Lions playing in the first game at home and the Cowboys
playing in the second game at home. I'm not a big fan of a Thanksgiving Eve game. I think
that is a huge party night, especially for younger people. It's a huge family night as well.
I'm not a big fan of it, but it really doesn't matter
because the NFL has found that when families are together
over the holidays, even if that Wednesday night's a huge party night
for basically everybody under the age of 30 for sure,
they're going to get a big rating on that game.
The NFL is always vague about the date that the schedule will come out
until, you know, a day or two prior to it.
So we're probably not going to know for sure until next week,
if it's going to be the following week.
I will probably play it safe with my mock schedule and have that out a week from today.
I'm not a big, you know, let's wait until the day before so I can get like three games right.
You know, when we already have learned that maybe the skins are going to be a part of Thanksgiving Day
or a part of Christmas Day.
I want to get it out well in advance of that stuff coming out,
so it's a true mock schedule.
So a week from today is probably the mock schedule day.
It might come as early as Friday if some leaks start to happen on the schedule.
All right, changing subjects.
This from Lenall, I think that's how you pronounce Lenal's name,
L-E-N-A-L-L-L-A-L-L-S.
Linald writes, Kevin, are you sure Jaden Daniels isn't injury prone?
You keep citing the few games he's missed before last year, but his career injury report says that he played hurt more than we think.
Remember, he played with injured ribs in 2024.
He had a concussion and missed part of the Alabama game in 2023.
He had ankle injuries that he played through both in 2023 and in 2020.
22, read this projection of his injuries in 2026.
And then Lanall linked me to a site called Draft Sharks.
It's a fantasy football site, and they do injury histories on players and then do
projections of injuries moving forward.
So I looked at what he sent me.
Draft Sharks has Jaden Daniels at a 71 percent.
chance of getting injured in 2026. Now, hold on for a moment. Don't be alarmed. They project his total
missed games in 2026 to be 2.20, so two games in a quarter, basically. And they have a durability
number on players on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 most durable. Jaden's listed as a 5. And the site writes
the following. He has the ability to produce despite relatively minor injuries. So 71% chance
of getting injured. Projection of total games missed. I don't know how they do this. 2.20 for
whatever it's worth. And yeah, I mean, the durability is based on, yes, he gets, you know,
nicks and knacks here and there. Not last year. Last year he missed games because of,
you know, legitimate injuries, none of them truly serious injuries,
but he's had the ability both in college and, yes, in his rookie season,
to play despite some minor injuries.
He hasn't had Lenal, he hasn't had one legit serious injury in his career, college or pro.
It's been ankle sprains, the knee sprained from last year against the backers,
the dislocated elbow from last year against Seattle.
And yes, he was in concussion protocol back in 2023.
I remember that game.
That Alabama game was insane.
He was so good in the first half.
And then he took a cheap shot from Dallas Turner in that game
and then missed the second half of that game and Alabama pulled away without him in the game.
But it was a late cheap shot helmet to helmet.
And I don't know if he was concussed or not, but he did go into concussion protocol.
and he did not come back into that game.
But look, nothing serious ever, fingers crossed, knock on wood,
whatever you need to do,
but nothing that makes me think that he's injury prone.
He played in 52 of 54 games in college.
He played in all 20, despite these sore ribs,
maybe injured ribs in 2024.
Last year was his first, truly, you know, injury-prone season.
And again, no, nothing.
serious, but it did cause him to miss the better part of 13 games. He only played in four games
completely start to finish. This from Jamie Z. Jamie Z writes Sheehan, I like Sunny
Stiles, but I'm concerned about the lack of success for off-ball linebackers picked high
in the draft. The Lions decided not to pick up Jack Campbell's fifth-year option.
That should be a warning sign.
Think Isaiah Simmons, Devin Bush, Devin White.
It doesn't work out usually at that position.
Your thoughts.
So I'm glad, Jamie, that you brought this up because I did not mention it last week
and I had it on my list of things to talk about and I don't think I ever got to it on the podcast.
I'm not sure I got to it on radio either.
But I did see that Jack Campbell's fifth year option was not picked up by Detroit.
He ended up being one of 10 players.
whose fifth-year option was not picked up. It was a recent, you know, high of 22 players had their
fifth-year option picked up. That's a lot, the most, I think, in six or seven years.
But anyway, Campbell, for those of you who don't remember, was the 18th pick in the 2023 draft
out of Iowa by the Lions. That was the same draft in which they selected Jamir Gibbs.
They did pick up the option on Gibbs. Campbell had an excellent season last year. He
He led the Lions and tackles, was named a first team all pro and a pro bowler.
Plus, he has not missed a game in his career.
Three years, short, you know, career so far, but he's not missed a game.
He's been a good player and was an excellent player last year.
So why didn't the Lions pick up his fifth year option?
Well, it's really simple.
It has nothing to do with him or his ability.
The fifth year option on his position, linebacker, is $21.9 million.
And that's because the linebacker position gets averaged.
It gets averaged between all of the linebacker positions.
So inside linebacker, off-ball linebacker, is not separated from outside linebacker,
edge-rushing two-point stance linebacker.
in the averaging out of the linebacker fifth-year option.
Same with franchise tag.
So that $21.9 million fifth-year option
actually would make him the highest paid off-ball linebacker in the game today.
This is a problem that the Players Association has.
They've got to get the league to separate linebackers for the purposes of franchise tags
and fifth-year options.
Same with offensive linemen.
Guards get mixed in with tackles.
And, you know, tight ends are standalone, but a past catching tight end doesn't even come close to the number that a wide receiver gets.
So that's the reason why linebackers are going to have a difficult time off ball linebackers are going to have a difficult time getting their fifth year options picked up.
We'll see about styles, but that's why Jack Campbell's did not get picked up.
So, Jamie, you're not wrong about the success of that position.
You are wrong about the Jack Campbell fifth-year option being a warning.
I don't think it's a warning.
In fact, I would guess that the Lions are certainly interested in signing him to a long-term deal.
And maybe they'll get that done before this fourth season coming up.
But you're not wrong about the success of the position when it's been drafted very,
high. I went back and looked at, you know, just all of the off-ball linebackers that have been picked
in the top 10, you know, in recent years. First of all, just one other off-ball linebacker,
other than Stiles, has been taken in the top 10 this decade. And that's Isaiah Simmons. He was
picked in the 2020 draft at number 8 overall. He's already on his third team. Devin White was fifth in
2019. Devin Bush 10th in that same draft, 2019. White's on his third team, Bush is on his fourth
team. I actually really thought Devin White was going to be a spectacular player. Remember him in his
rookie season. He was so good. Roquan Smith, you've got to go back to 2018 to find an example of an
off-ball linebacker picked in the top 10 that really worked out. Now, he's our
on his second team because the Bears traded him to the Ravens in his fifth season.
But Roquan Smith has been a really good player, four Pro Bowls, four all pro teams,
picked by the Bears in 2018 at number eight overall.
But there is recent history, which I think most of you knew anyway, about the lack of success of highly drafted all off-ball linebackers.
So Stiles will be bucking the trend if he.
performs at a very high level and ends up being on this same team after his first rookie idea.
Look, Stiles might be a little bit more versatile than some of those players,
although Simmons's versatility was really heralded when he got drafted by Arizona,
for sure.
Did you see what Albert Breer wrote about Sunny Stiles in his Monday morning column?
Thank you, Jake, for sending this to me.
He wrote five things about the selection of styles that he's heard.
Number one is he titles it, the NFL translation.
He said Adam Peters and Ohio State Defensive Coordinator Matt Patricia were co-workers two decades ago in New England,
and they talked a lot over the past few months.
And Patricia told Peters what an incredible communicator, teammate, and person styles was.
Patricia's pro-style scheme also gave Quinn and new defensive coordinator Durante Jones,
who also worked with Patricia under ex-Patricia.
And I'm sorry, he worked under ex-patricia colleague Brian Flores in Minnesota.
He did not work with Matt Patricia.
But anyway, it gave both of those gentlemen a real look on tape at how styles would fit
into an NFL defense.
That was the first thing that Breer wrote about the selection of styles.
The second thing was titled The Teammate, and he wrote the following.
At the Combine, the commanders interviewed all 11 Ohio State invitees,
and the other 10 all brought up styles as one of the guys they'd want to bring to the NFL with them.
How strong fellow first rounders, Tate, Reese, and Downs were on Stiles really said to the commanders
that he was very much the guy on the 2025 Ohio State team, even more than Downs.
The third thing he wrote, he titled The Football IQ.
Their meetings with Stiles through the process only confirmed that he was the alpha at Ohio State,
showing elite football intelligence, knowledge of the scheme inside and out,
and an ability to explain not just his role in the way things played out on tape,
but his teammates' responsibilities too.
Number four, titled The Background, Albert Breer wrote this morning about Sunny Stiles.
At the pro day in March, the commanders got to see where Stiles is from
with his entire family and his girlfriend in attendance.
so they got a chance to meet the whole family,
and that apparently was a positive experience.
And then lastly, Breer wrote about the person,
at the top golf 30 visit,
that's the thing the commanders, Washington's done here
in the last couple of drafts,
at the top golf 30 visit that the commanders do,
he stood out again, mingling well with scouts,
coaches, and support staff,
asking questions of everyone with humility
and a very clear effort to try,
to use the day as a chance to get better.
Linebackers' coaches Ken Norton and George Banco
loved him to the point where everyone joked
that Norton was so engaged with Stiles
that he wasn't going to let anyone else talk to him.
I mean, I feel good about the Stiles pick.
I understand the concerns about the position
and the position's history, recent history,
when it's drafted very high.
This was not a draft, though, loaded with position.
that weren't, you know, questionable positions historically in terms of, you know,
being selected too high in the draft, positional value in the draft. I mean, what were the options?
Now, Ruben Bain was an option for me at number seven, but the short arms was definitely
something that probably had Washington and many other teams. They had them obviously rated much
lower. I'm okay with styles over downs. I'm okay with styles. I am okay with styles over Jordan
Tyson's injuries concern me. I think he's a talent for sure. And, you know, his versatility,
he may not always line up as an huffball linebacker in the Durante Jones scheme. All right, my top
three post-draft questions about our team after these words from a few of our sponsors.

I think some of you know that.
I wear prescription eyeglasses.
I also wear prescription sunglasses.
And recently, it was time to swap out the old and bring on the new.
this has never in the past been an easy process for me. It's always been complicated to try to find
the right style for the time, to try to find the right fit for my face. But Warby Parker has changed
all of that. Once you buy from Warby Parker, you realize how much easier they've made the
entire process, which includes their virtual try-on, which is a total game changer. You can literally
try on glasses from your phone before you buy. It's crazy how well it actually works. When it comes to
quality for the price, Warby Parker is the best and honestly, it's not even close. You used to have to
choose between flimsy outdated styles or spending half your paycheck on your new glasses. Warby Parker
completely changed that. Their prescription glasses start at $95, $95, so you can actually get quality and

All right, my top three post-draft questions about our football team.
I'm going to count them down from number three to number one.
The third biggest question I have, you could also express it.
it in the form of a concern about the team, but it's more of a question mark, a mystery
about the team.
The third biggest post-draft question down to the number one post-draft question.
Number three, for me, the third biggest post-draft question about the skins.
Will Dan Quinn's decisions on coordinators turn out to be the right decisions?
going with two first-time coordinators and play callers is a risk.
I mean, there's no other way to describe it.
It is a risk.
He's put himself out there a bit with these two hires.
Now, of course, he had to replace Joe Witt Jr.
I mean, he had demoted him during the regular season,
but he didn't have to replace Cliff Kingsbury.
I mean, the offense actually considering all of the players that didn't play much of the season,
it performed at a mid-league level offensively much of the year.
As I've said before, I think for Quinn, the David Blow hire is different than the
Durante-Jones hire because everybody in the building agrees with the elevation of David Blow.
So by definition, that's not risky for Quinn.
You know, Quinn's risk comes in the hiring of Durante-Jones more than it does David Blow.
David Blow's ascension to OC was almost a given within weeks after he got hired,
certainly within months after he got hired.
Everybody saw that this guy was going to be an offensive coordinator in the league,
and the way it happened may not have been the way it was supposed to happen.
The way it was supposed to happen is Kingsbury goes two straight years of dominant offense.
They win playoff games, and he gets a head coaching job.
That didn't happen.
but they moved on from Kingsbury instead and decided now's the time to elevate Blow.
And if they hadn't done it with Blow, Blow would have been an offensive coordinator in Detroit or somewhere else.
More likely, Detroit.
They wanted him desperately to replace Ben Johnson.
And then one year of Ben Johnson's replacement in 2025.
So I've viewed the David Blow elevation as different from the Durante Jones'
hire from the Quinn perspective of risk. It's not risky to, you know, hire or elevate a first-time
coordinator if everybody in the building, including the people you work for, are saying,
do this. We want you to do this. Now, Durante Jones, different. You know, will he turn out to be
the right choice for Quinn? Washington wasn't the only team, by the way, that hired a first-time
defensive coordinator. Six other teams did it.
But in the case of Jones, could they have landed a proven defensive mind like Jonathan Gannon?
I mean, or somebody like Patrick Graham or Dinnard Wilson.
Remember, this is now back-to-back inexperienced guys that Quinn has gone with at defensive coordinator.
So to me, post-draft question mark number three in my countdown from three to one,
will Dan Quinn's coordinator decisions work out?
Number two, did they do enough on offense in the off season?
I mean, the bottom line is they might not be done yet, you know, more likely than not,
they're not done.
See Brandon Ayuk.
But if who they have now is who they have when the season begins, will it be enough?
It was enough in 2024, but certainly you'd prefer that they have, you know,
another known playmaker on offense.
Because right now, there are two known playmakers, Jaden Daniels and Terry McClorn.
And in Terry's case, he's entering his age 31 season.
So we're not even sure he'll be a proven, he's a proven playmaker,
but he'll be the same playmaker as a 31-year-old that he was, you know,
as a 29, 28, and 27-year-old.
Now, I like Chigacanquo.
I do as a potential playmaker at the tight end position.
And I'm okay with Diami being back, and he can make plays, and he has speed.
And I like Kroski Merritt's breakaway ability, and I'm glad that he got one done last year against Dallas.
I mean, that came, you know, on the heels of flashes here and there, but nothing that said for sure,
hey, he's a home run threat.
But, you know, Diami and Kroski Merritt and McCaffrey and Traylon Burks and even Chig, Akonquo,
none of these are givens in terms of true defensive threatening players.
The strength of the offense right now is the quarterback and the offensive line.
I think they need more.
I think right now it is a question and a bit of a mystery, TBD,
on whether or not they added enough offensively.
Again, they're probably not done.
So that's number two.
And that leads to number one.
My number one post-draft question mark for our football team.
It's the defense.
The defense, while it's changed its look, player-wise and coaching-wise,
the question is, how will that changed look play out on the field?
next year in 2026.
The obvious is they identified the defense as the number one problem area on this football
team.
I mean, I'm glad they did that.
You're not guaranteed to get that to happen.
It was so obvious, though, I think when the season ended, that we weren't going to be
wrong about identifying the defense as the number one issue.
But sometimes teams believe, you know, Dorrance Armstrong, Dietrich-wise, we get these players
back in year two and a different.
scheme and the different coach, we're going to be okay. No, they attempted to address that problem
with tons of new players, faster, younger, I think more talented players than they had last year
in the year before. And with a new defensive coordinator who will employ a new defensive scheme,
they've basically changed everything about the look. But for right now, that's all we know.
is they have changed the look, player-wise, coaching-wise.
We can't know for sure until we see the style of play
and how the new players fit with that new style of play.
We're not going to know for sure until we see it.
You can't possibly know anything about how the defense will play in 2026
based on what we see over the next few months.
OTAs, mini camps, training camp, preseason games.
That's not going to tell us anything.
Now, it will be very important over the summer to listen very carefully to Dan Quinn and to
Durante Jones and even some players because you'll learn more about what they're saying
than from what your eyes are telling you because, again, nothing that happens in these
practices for us, for our eyes to see, or these preseason games are going to tell us much.
I mean, I remember Dan Quinn admitting to me, you know, two years ago, and maybe even last year
when I had them on before the season, started about, you know, when do you know what kind of team
you have? And he's like, it's really hard to figure it out until seven or eight games have been
played. You don't really know if your previous offseason work has paid.
off until you've played nearly half of your games.
But make no mistake, this team's defense is the biggest question entering 2026.
I did have one honorable mention that I think before last week I probably would have had in the
top three, and that is the center position.
But I didn't include it in my top three because, as I mentioned last week, I was told last week,
that there is confidence in that building about Nick Allegrety.
They love his communication ability.
They think it's at a higher level than Tyler Beaudish's communication ability.
And they're not as concerned about Nick Allegrety being the starting center as people on the outside might be.
Kime was on with me on Friday's show.
John always great.
And John said the exact same thing about the Nick Allegrety situation.
He was hearing some of the same.
about Allegretti, that the confidence inside the building is much higher than maybe we would think.
So that's my list. That's my top three post-draft Washington concerns. Number three,
will Dan Quinn's decisions on coordinators turn out to be the right decisions? Number two,
did they do enough on offense in the offseason? Certainly as it relates to adding playmakers for Jaden Daniels.
And number one, will the defensive changes manifest itself into a much better defense on the field?
Because there are lots of changes.
I mean, there is no questioning that they identified defense as a massive weakness.
And they decided, like we talked about when the season ended, they needed five, six, seven new starters.
add to that another two contributors
and a new defensive coordinator
and a new scheme.
All right, some NBA,
some Terps, Hoops News from yesterday,
and a few other things to finish up the show
after these words from a few of our sponsors.
I'll be honest.
At first, I was skeptical about ordering plants online,
like, is this thing actually going to show up alive?
But that's what surprised me most
about fast-growing trees.
They don't just ship plants.
They've built a whole system to protect them until they arrive at your door.

A horse called Golden Tempo.
He's going to be sitting closer to the back part of the pack.
He's going to be, I think, the best closer in the field.
He's going to be flying late.
On the far outside, as they come to the last 16th of a mile,
Denan Herbert in front,
O's selling a huge long shot.
Renegade and Golden Tempo are closing two.
Here's Golden Tempo, Golden Temo!
Golden Temo!
and Cherie DeVos make history in the Kentucky Derby over Redingade
at a final time of 202.2.27 seconds.
That was my guy Eddie C. from Friday's show talking up golden tempo.
The horse went off at 23 to 1 and won the Kentucky Derby from the back of the pack.
It was an exciting derby with Sherry DeVoe becoming the first female trainer to ever.
win the run for the roses.

on record since Nielsen began tracking average audiences back in Newark.
1988. A few things to add to the Kentucky Derby from over the weekend in this final segment of the show.
I'll start with some disappointing news for Maryland basketball fans. Maryland basketball was in the running for a reclassed 2027 center.
Obina Ikeesie Jr. His father, Obina Ikeesie, played for Gary in the late 90s. It was a really good center.
and played for Maryland prior to Lonnie Baxter coming in and taking over as the center.
Akeesie Jr., his son, was the top player in the 2027 class, but he reclassed and was being recruited
heavily here over the final week, week and a half by Maryland, Louisville, Arkansas, and
BYU, and he picked Louisville yesterday.
So that is a blow to Buzz Williams.
and the Terps. But Buzz has had a good
four to six weeks here during the portal.
The Terps were super active adding several players in the portal.
Plus they kept two key players. I think they're going to keep two key players.
I don't think it's been made official.
But Andre Mills, the freshman that played very well last year,
I think he's an absolute at this point.
And then Farrell Payne is just, I think, waiting on his medical redshy
shirt clearance.
And if that comes through, he'll be back as well.
And the Terps had already one of the top freshman classes coming in as well, led by Baba,
the kid from Blake in Silver Spring.
But the Terps were right there for a Keesey Jr.
But he is heading to Louisville, unfortunately.
But you know, the thing about college recruiting these days, college portal, just college sports
in general with the way it works.
and maybe there will be changes coming.
Just because you lose a recruit this spring doesn't mean you won't get that player next spring.
I mean, these are one-year commitments for the most part.
I know some players are signing and committing for more than one year,
but there seem to be opportunities every spring,
even for a player that perhaps you missed on the previous spring.
I did want to talk about the NBA playoffs from over the weekend.
You know, going back to just Friday night since the last podcast, the Lakers put away the rockets with an easy game six win.
And what a shot in game six to four, say game seven by R.J. Barrett in Toronto, an incredible three-pointer in overtime that bounced high off the back rim and then fell through reminiscent of Kauai shot that beat the 76ers in a seventh.
deciding game in Toronto back when they won the title in 2019.
That forced a seventh and deciding game last night.
Cleveland won that game pretty easily.
But that was really an exciting game.
The Lakers took out the Rockets.
The Rockets are a mess.
Kevin Durant missed again.
I don't know what's going to happen with Kevin Durant.
I don't know that the appetite is, you know, the appetite obviously is not what it's been.
Certainly there are going to be many teams that are going to be very interested.
but there will be more fans of teams that say, you know, maybe not.
Maybe not on KD at this point.
On Saturday night, we had the game seven between the Sixers and the Celtics.
The Sixers completed the 3-1 comeback, winning two games in Boston, game five, and then game seven.
No Jason Tatum for game seven.
Big blow to Boston.
I will tell you this, though, Jalen Brown is an absolute monster.
What a game he had for Paul.
Austin, 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists, handling the ball, having to score, had three
block shots, he's the best defender on the floor. But man, the Sixers with Embedde are a
completely different team. 34 for him, 12 rebounds, and then Tyrese Maxie closing out the game at the
end. He is spectacular, as is the rookie from Baylor, V.J. Edgecombe. Sixers Knicks in this next
series. And I'm telling you, man, these two fan bases, these are going to be unbelievable
arenas for these games. I was looking online, stub hub prices. I mean, they are outrageous to get
into even the early games of this series, either in the garden or in Philadelphia. Game one
is tonight. The Knicks are favored in this series. They're favored in game one by seven and a half
at my bookie. Last night, or yesterday and last night, you had game sevens. Both games were really
games in which the home teams pulled away in the second half. The Pistons pulled away from the magic.
Really good game for Cade Cunningham, but how good was Tobias Harris in that game yesterday for
Detroit? He had 30, Cunningham at 32. So the Pistons rallied from 3-1 down to win the series. And then
the calves pulled away from the Raptors. That game was deadlocked at halftime at 49, but they were just too good in the second half and pulled
away, or really in the third quarter, with a 19-point deficit in the third quarter to move on.
So you've got in the east right now, you've got this Philly New York series, which should be tremendous.
I can't believe the Celtics lost a three-one series lead. And I thought they'd be in the finals.
And then you've got Pistons Cavs on the other side of the bracket.
And in the West, you get Thunder Lakers.
That game one is tomorrow night.
Game one of the Timberwolves Spurs series is tonight.
I like the Spurs.
I like the Thunder.
I like the Knicks, I think.
I think that's a seven-game series.
And I'm going to go with the Pistons,
but I think Cleveland's actually got more talented players.
I just don't trust teams with James Harden on them.
But my finals matchup of Thunder Celtics is done.
I think the Thunder are the best team.
I think they're going to go on to win a second consecutive title.
I don't think the Lakers have much of a chance at all.
How about this for a game one second round,
point spread line for tomorrow night. Oklahoma City game one over the Lakers. 16 point favorites.
16. Oklahoma City people right now is one of the best teams in all of team sports. Any sport, any
league. They are really sensational. The Nats salvaged a weekend in which they lost the first two to
Milwaukee on Friday and Saturday, but they got a three-two win yesterday. And another really good day
for C.J. Abrams in the game yesterday. He was two for four. Right now he's hitting close to
300. He's got 27 RBI's eight home runs. Tommy and most of you keep telling me they're going to
trade him at the deadline. He has developed into quite the player at 25 years old. But I guess he's only good
to bring back more prospects as this second rebuild in just a few years is underway.
All right, that will do it for today.
Back tomorrow with Tommy.
