Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, everybody? Hey, listen. Now we're really high. Now I'm going to make sure that we're not too loud. I'm trying to fix the sound for you guys. I keep getting reports that it's loud. So you're going to tell me, I'm going to guarantee you that you're going to tell me in the comments. Now it's too loud.
Starting point is 00:00:14 If that's the case that is too loud, I think I know how to fix it now. Anyway, nice to see everybody. I can't see any of you. I can see Roxy and Brett, though. And we are going to be talking about things. We got some TV news that Roxy has some good suggestions. We have, James Mangold said, hey, stop telling people that there's test screenings
Starting point is 00:00:35 and that I'm doing these things inside of Indiana Jones when it's bullshit, because here's the truth. There's some reports about what Batman could look like now under Zavlov. Zavlov's all loved, Shimsham. There's a lot of stuff. There's a new trailer, Will Smith's Apple movie and Antoine Fuqua's new movie. That is Fuqua?
Starting point is 00:00:56 That's how you say. Fouquah? I always say it's always a good, nice, better name than mine. Anyway, sorry, Dad. Anyway, so there's all those things and more. And if you're brand new to the channel and you haven't subscribed already, well, shame on you. That's a nice way to say it, right?
Starting point is 00:01:13 Go ahead, $70,000. We're trying to get there. We'd love for that to happen. Please do it. If you have not already, although shirts, man, big thing right now, Roxie's still upset because we still are not even close to Sith Council. Not even close. No.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Not even close. Sith Council is killing us right now. And I say that like I'm not on Sith Council. But Sith Council is the number one. And a big thing is it needs to catch up. So you guys head on over there and get one of those. If you haven't joined the Patreon, I have so much, I'm something I was going to talk to Roxy about as well.
Starting point is 00:01:43 So I do this thing on Patreon now where it's like nine or ten spots a month. But I do half an hour sessions with patrons. And it's, I'm getting to know a lot of people. It's really awesome. I've been enjoying it. And there's other things, too. We do rewatches. Once people got used to the idea that it was Shmodown,
Starting point is 00:02:01 and now it's Big Thing and the Christian Arloch Channel, we're seeing now it's less people who are part of Shmodown, leaving and more people who are, oh, I want to learn more about the Big Thing Patreon. So head on over to patreon.com slash the Big Thing Show, myself and PLD has been running nothing masterfully. And that's it. What's a little Andor?
Starting point is 00:02:20 Little, I think it's really it. Stuff that I'm watching, it's going to be pretty heavy TV focus as Roxy is going to, school us and we'll try to actually people got mad at us because brett and i were you saw that people got mad at us we're making jokes so happy we're making us we got scolded by one of the isn't that great yeah we got scolded um yeah we got scolded um yeah we got scolded and we'll talk about that more all right it's the big thing everybody let's say apple podcast Spotify do all that will you let's let's do it what the hell am i doing oh yeah what's going on everybody welcome back
Starting point is 00:02:55 it's the big thing man oh man I am really loving this show I really do Roxy, I know you like this show, too. Let me ask you a question now. Don't ask me. Don't ask me. I'll show you like better. I knew it. I knew you were going to ask me that.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Start booking interviews for us, and then I'll have a really answer to you. Not including, not including. You have to take the interview, like, the interview part out of Clyer Live. I was getting legitimately scolded every single day over there. And I still, I don't know whether I have Stockholm or what. I rep that place so hard. There's got to be something wrong with me. You always got, yeah, I know, it's true.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Every time I see in the comments, you're like, I hated it there. I'm like, it was lovely. There's that laugh again. I haven't heard. I've only heard that laugh once before, and I love that laugh. I heard it on the real rejects one that you did, and it was up top. And I was like, where did that? And I called you.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I said, where'd that laugh come from? I've never heard that before. It's great. I love it. I need to keep a notepad for the start of these shows, Christian, because you said, like, 14 things in the intro that I had responses. too or questions about. Okay, so let me try to run through them in my head.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Number one, where does Harlov come from? Germany. I've never heard the name before. Have you ever met another Harlov? Yeah. Oh, really? There's quite a few, yeah. It's like in the street and non-family.
Starting point is 00:04:17 You've met, you've been talking to somebody and they've been like my last name's Harlov. Oh, there's a few. I mean, remember we talk, there's that, there's the Danish Christian Harlow that way that we knew of in the Collider. But, you know, there are a few. I don't know if it's as common a name like Smith or something. in America, but it's, yeah, I've known, there's like a car dealership, I think, that with my last name as well.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Damn, didn't know. Number two, for the people in the intro who were confused, he meant quiet. What did I say? You said, you guys have been accusing us of being loud, so now if we're loud. And you meant quiet, and I just didn't, I don't want any comments for you on that.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Number three, I cannot believe that Sith is doing better than us. Does that show do better than us? Right now it is, yeah, because of, because of Banddor. Yeah, it does. I can't wait until it fails. That's nice. Yeah. Me too.
Starting point is 00:05:07 With you and my ex-D.C. movie news host and my World Girl's host, I hope that you guys fucking fade. No. I love that you succeed, but I hope that you succeed in a way that makes us succeed 1% more. I hope that big thing sells as much as Seth. How about that? I hope that big thing sells one more than Seth.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I like the big thing design. Yeah, me too. I'm just curious. Like also this is why for me It's the big thing And by the way it was a fucking joke I hope that you guys are wildly successful I know that
Starting point is 00:05:40 No I have to always clarify what I'm so sorry for this Did you have to blow it my way? I had it went like this one underneath it like that Oh you underneath it you literally went like this and then aired it to me No No so it was underneath no it was underneath It was underneath underneath it was cradled underneath I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Underneath my hand. It's cradled. He pushed it behind it. Yeah, I think I took out a mosquito. Underneath would be underneath. You went. Underneath my hand. No, you didn't.
Starting point is 00:06:11 You did sidehand. Put the replay on. Do the replay. I need to fix that wide shot. You're on me for the replay. You're going nuts. You're on me for the replay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:19 What wide shot? There's a wide shot. No, I know, but I fix it. How? Well, if you brought, you bringing attention to it. He said it. I know. No, I'm not starting the show over.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Okay. So I just don't understand a shirt that says the big thing. Yes. Cool. Yeah. A shirt that says Sith Council, also cool, but not as cool as the big thing. It's lightsabers on it, I think. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Lightsaber's on, man. Why don't you put lightsabers on our shirt? I know it doesn't work as much. Because I also am curious. I kind of works for the big thing. Look at you. Yeah. You're the one that went there.
Starting point is 00:06:51 And I had a wink after it, too. So Joy Mode, everybody. No, we're not going to join a moat. There is more comments than you talked about. the fact that people shit on you guys that was my favorite people got mad at us bret and i'm happy for you thank you so much it's such a wonderful it's like yeah to see like hey guys take it easy it's kind of rude and she's in the middle of her thing and you guys are goofing around it's like have you ever watched our i think it started with like i love you guys but and i was like
Starting point is 00:07:19 which i which i'm not going to really get mad at the guy for because he was sticking out for rock yeah like here's the one thing i'm going to tell you i cannot promise that that will never happen again. No, it's happening today. It's going to happen next week. I can't even promise you that that's going to happen today. Brett and I get into a place that if we start goofing on jokes and it's almost like, and if you noticed last week when that happened, when we were going on, I didn't put the
Starting point is 00:07:41 cameras back on me and Brett. I kept it on Roxy for that reason. So I'm sorry, it's probably going to happen again today. And a star was born. Yes. It's me. Well, I'll tell you this. I'm getting too comfortable.
Starting point is 00:07:52 You want to get excited? Yeah. So I had a great conversation yesterday with some peeps. that are going to help us with short-form content, right? And one of the first orders of business, I think, tomorrow is I'm going to make sure that they short-form out your segment. Have you not been short-forming? I had released it as, like, Clips on the Big Thing Channel, but nothing on the Big Thing Channel, the Clips Channel was doing well.
Starting point is 00:08:17 That's why we changed it. So that's something else to let people know is we actually changed the Big Thing Clips Channel to Christian Harloff and Friends, which is just a live stream channel now. I had Matt Sarah on yesterday. I'm having Greg Alba on tomorrow. Wow, I like both those people a lot. Matt Sarah, Greg Alba, Mark Ellis has been on. Brett and Kate now have been going on, going live.
Starting point is 00:08:39 They're going to go live two times a month. And then S-E-N-Live is returning to that channel next week, and I'm actually going to be hosting it. And so if you guys like, people had asked for a long time, are you going to do live shows anymore? And I was opposed to it. I didn't want to do it for a bit. And then as I was thinking about it,
Starting point is 00:08:54 I was like, well, those are as long, The S-E-N-Live will be the only show on that channel that does the Shmobot. Like, there will be no Schmobots on, because it's part of S-E-N. It's just like, it's another character on the show. I like it, because I use it for the games. It's a part of the show at this point. But it's not going to appear on like the other live shows I do. It won't be on Brett and Kate.
Starting point is 00:09:13 It's not meant for if we do super chat. We do super chat, and it's always on it. People want to get involved, but it's not one of these. Like Roka was on. Roka was on the other day, too. And Roku was like doing his thing where he's like, I said it out. Come on, guys, send you money. I'm like, you don't send anything, and it's fine.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Come to your house. Yeah, it's just if you want to get involved in the conversation. Was he in L.A.? No, I will only, that's the other thing with this channel is that I, because you know how much I don't, and that's probably why you're asking, because you know how much I don't like digital shows. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:45 For that, for that channel, I will be doing digital shows. Because you've got people all over the country? That's what I mean. I figured I'm having Sean Waltman. No way. We're going to, we're going to talk. on next week. I haven't seen him in a year.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Yeah, we're going to. But we talk. Yeah. Well, he had tweeted out of, we can transition this. He had tweeted about Andor. Mm-hmm. And he's loving it. And he had to give it up on it at all point.
Starting point is 00:10:06 And he came back in. And I was like, and I sent him a DM. I go, dude, I'm doing this live stream channel now. You want to just talk? He's like, I don't really talk to wrestling anymore. I don't want to talk wrestling. Let's talk andor. And he's like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:16 So we're going on next week. So it'll be great. Speaking of Andor, did you watch last night? I did. And? Everybody said it was the best penultimate episode of anything ever I just I think that if I was watching the show in a vacuum I would like it so much
Starting point is 00:10:31 But the way that when I go to the internet People are like this is changing the game of television Is changing the face of Star Wars The best thing that Star Wars done since the original trilogy I'm not feeling what I guess other people are feeling I like it So I feel that way as far as the writing goes As far as the writing goes for this show
Starting point is 00:10:50 It is easily the best written Star Wars material since Empire Strikes Back. It's got good dialogue. Yeah. And it's just like everything about it. Like I was, I'd seen, you know, there's been talk about how some people think that it's not Star Wars. And I couldn't disagree with that more. It is about as Star Wars, it's Star Wars and what usually starts wars politics. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:09 It's not lightsabers. No. It's missing some of the, those elements of like the space opera and all that type of stuff for sure. But I don't mind it. I don't have many creatures. This episode did? Yeah. And I think, but that's my point.
Starting point is 00:11:23 What this show has done very well is build. It is built up character. It has built up story. It is every little piece of dialogue means something. So anybody who says like that it's a slow burn, I'm not really going to disagree with that. Anyone who says it's boring, I definitely shake my head out. I don't understand how you could watch this show. Watch the dialogue and it's boring.
Starting point is 00:11:44 I don't think it's boring. But at times I do find it to be. lackluster, which is fine. Because I've told you I really am not interested in the marmoth. Marmoth. I love what you call her. I'm not going to tell you what it is. Marmothman.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Sure. Is that right? It doesn't matter. Marmothman? I don't watch it. It's like the same name. What do you think her name is? It's the same name twice.
Starting point is 00:12:10 I want to say even one of them gets. And I promise you, I am not going to give them the right answer. Marmothman. Sure. Marmothma. Marmothma. Yeah, Marmothma. Yeah, Marmothma.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Close. Mar-Moth. Mar-n-Moth-M-M-A. Both you guys. M-Math-Mah. Marn-M-A. Marn or Mar? Neither? Is it Mar-G-H-A?
Starting point is 00:12:32 Go ahead. Go to shot. Mar-Marnah. Good. Mar-Marn-A. No, it's got a moth in it. I know there. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Mothma. Mothma. Mothma. Mothma. Dupalipa. Dupalipa. What's the name? Mon Mothma.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Mothma. Is that what I said? No. Close. Mar. You got to the Mothma part. I'm proud of you on that. I knew.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Okay. Mon Mothma. I don't care about that. Clearly. Oh, yeah. I have a really hard time. Remember her name. So that's a bummer because I know that's a lot of people's favorite stuff.
Starting point is 00:13:05 I only care about the Cassian stuff. Okay. Well, that's a problem. Yeah. Yeah. So. And I love the Cassian stuff, but that's why for me sometimes it's lackluster because I like the casting stuff. And then what's, um, are Asia, or Jonas, or Honas?
Starting point is 00:13:19 I like. She's great. Did you say minx? Bix. Bix. Bix. Bix. Bix.
Starting point is 00:13:25 She is a really good actress. She's a really good actress and she is about as attractive as it. Yeah, totally. And I like her storyline too because it's more tied in with Cassian. I like anything to do with Cassian's mom, like all that stuff. Let me tell you, though. This is a spoiler for last night if you didn't watch it. And it's not a massive one, but they, speaking of,
Starting point is 00:13:43 about Ms. Not about Bix. This is why I love the show, because the attention to detail in a lot of shows and especially with, and it's not necessarily always the actor, actress's choice. But she is one of the most attractive women that I've seen in a very long time. They made her look dirty. Last night. Exhausted, beaten up.
Starting point is 00:14:06 She looked rough. And she should. She's been tortured. Last night I was like it took me a second to be like that's her right because the question you're asking her I'm like that's definitely her It looked like a different person. It looked like a different person Yeah, they crushed it because she hasn't been sleeping. They've been torturing her She's like she's not gonna have makeup on and look great. She's gonna look tortured So that was the best reaction I've ever seen them. I just want I just said something like and I pointed to him and he goes
Starting point is 00:14:31 She's not gonna look at about makeup Why not? She does. She still is beautiful, but she no women have to wear makeup to be beautiful. That's what Christian was saying What's the number one product a woman has to wear? Base. Mm. That's all about that. A concealer. A concealer.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Is that what a base is? A concealer. I'm going to throw a name at you. You're surprised that I know. Landcombe. Yeah. Great job, guys. You got to get that Lancombe base.
Starting point is 00:14:56 No, I have a fun bed at home where I do. Can you do any other? Blush. L'Oreal by Lancombe. I combine two different companies. I want you guys together. Seriously name five cosmetic companies. Are you kidding?
Starting point is 00:15:10 No. Illmetech? No, I'm not kidding. Mar-Moth, Mo. Land-Mancombe. Oh, okay. You said, what was the first one you said? Man-combe.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Revlon. Ravelin. Reve-Les. Sassoon. Vita-L-Ssoon? I mean, Sassoon is, I guess, like, he did do hair products. I wouldn't say cost. My dad told me his real name was Vinnie Sassione or something like that.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Hey, you guys, no, Vinie Sassione. He had a Calzone down in the neighborhood. You guys are failing with flying colors. No, Mac. Do you believe it? Mac? Come on, Rocks. You know I know a lot.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Go ahead. My wife uses some... We're on the team here. You haven't scored shit. Her base. I don't know. That was in theater. We called it a base.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Bay. But it was Ilmeteek or something like that. Illmatic? It's a... I-L-M-A. It's something she's got to order. There was a place in Queens name a Tizi pizza. Atizi.
Starting point is 00:16:00 So are you talking about foundation? Foundation. Yes. That's the word I'm going for. But I don't know what Illmatic is. It could be something. It's a thing. I think.
Starting point is 00:16:08 I might be saying it wrong, but she gets Ipsie, Ipsy, but I'm delivered. There's a lot of them around there. But yeah, there's Revlon, L'Oreal. Thank you. What's? Lankome. He's named two.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Lankome. Yeah, that was great. Lankom. Mac. That's a son we said. You said you giving us this soon. I didn't say that. I said, no.
Starting point is 00:16:30 I said, I'll give it to you. I have it on tape. All right. Great. You guys win. Great job. Good, thank you. E. Celeron.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Hermes. Now I'm naming clothing. Flaas. Yeah, Flavs is a big one these days. It's a Sifora's bestseller. I don't know. It doesn't matter. Sifor is a place that you go.
Starting point is 00:16:47 I know Landcombe for two reasons. The first is that my wife, when she's a makeup artist, she said it a million times. Oh my God, Christian. I forgot. Your wife is a makeup artist. What the fuck?
Starting point is 00:16:58 I got it. I got Landcombe. You didn't win. I got Landcombe. She's a makeup artist. Not anymore. And then the other, reason I think doesn't Julie Roberts do Lancombe adds now?
Starting point is 00:17:08 Oh, I forgot. I don't know. B's wax. Is that count? It's just Bert's bees. Wax. Wax on, wax off. I would say that's a chapstick.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Chap it up. She enjoys some of their, the Bert's cleansing products and stuff. Or makeup. Oh, what about, what about Native? Yeah. That's deodorant. They have things you put in your hair. Mabeline.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Wouldn't she know better? Wouldn't she know it best? Maybe it's Maybe it's maybe. Isn't that close? Maybe she's born with it. Maybe she's born with it. Maybe she's born with it. Maybe it's maybe it's maybe.
Starting point is 00:17:49 And you said, wouldn't she know best? Yeah, wouldn't she? Hey, was she born with it? Was she known best? Wouldn't she know it best? Maybelline. Get off my back about this. What did she know back?
Starting point is 00:18:02 Get off my back about, Maybeleen. Hey, haven't you seen? Maybelline. Who's that gal walking down the street? It's looking good. What she got on? Well, she would know best.
Starting point is 00:18:16 It's like to sell a product, you're so aggressive. That's right. Wouldn't you know best? Yeah. Taylor Swift tickets went on sale. How do I get them? Asked Mabeline. Because she would know best.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Maybelline. Oh, you guys are thinking Mabelene's a person. Oh, God. Yeah. See, I got a lot of energy today. You know what? Athletic Greens. Athletic Greens, man.
Starting point is 00:18:39 I'm excited for Athletic Greens. They're back. I'm always excited when they're back because we love them. I mean, hell, they're the one. We actually, we showcase them on the back in the freaking, on the bookshelf. And they've been there when they're not around, they're there. And they should be. They're so great.

Starting point is 00:20:56 Batman. All right. So this is from comicbook, movie.com. Now, they say, Winter Brothers Discovery, David Zazlov, I'm going to call him Zoloff for this one, because I think he might deserve it. I may be wrong. I'll change my tune at the end. David Zoloft says there's not going to be four Batmans in the DCU moving forward. I don't know, I'm going to call him Zazloff on that. I kind of like that idea. While updating on James Gunn and Peter Saffron's progress as new co-heads of DC Studios, Warner Brothers Discovery's David Zazloff has made some very
Starting point is 00:21:22 interesting comments about the future of the Batman. Winter Brothers Discovery's 10-year plan for the DCU involves unifying the franchise under one banner and based on comments from Zazlov. They might not bode well for multiple versions of the same character currently occupying the same space. While updating on the progress made by recently appointed DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Saffron, Zazlov revealed that the pair are coming close to the end of finishing a Bible, a document roadmap that outlines key characters and plot points for the DCU. I think over the next few years you're going to see a lot of growth and opportunity around
Starting point is 00:21:57 DC, there's not going to be for Batman's. And so part of our strategy is drive the hell out of DC, which James and Peter are going to do. I think they've thrilled the fans, and I think they're going to thrill over a period of time. Now, right now, Patinson is playing the Dark Knight and Matt Reeves Batverse, which is separate from the main DCU. Ben Affleck is going to return as a Cape Crusader for Aquaman and the Flash and Michael Keaton will also appear as Batman in the latter. Zazlov's comments could be interpreted a couple different ways, but he certainly seems to be indicating that only one of those actors will be staying on the role moving forward. We know a sequel to Reeves' highly successful first outing is in the work, so is there a chance
Starting point is 00:22:33 Gunn and Safran are playing to fold the Batman movies into the DCU? The Flash is expected to serve as something as a reset for the DCU, and since the movie will involve parallel realities and variants of the same character, there are several options available to Zavlov and his team. There's a lot to unpack there. Yeah. There really is. Go ahead, Roxy.
Starting point is 00:22:50 What do you make of this? So I don't feel as confident as that. this article that he's saying there's only going to be one Batman. He says there's not going to be four. Let's break down what that could possibly mean. So obviously we've got the the Batman, which is Robert Pattinson. We've got Ben Affleck's Batfleck. We've got the Michael Keaton Batman. I don't know whether he's speaking on the TV shows, but we did have the Batman in Titans. there have been different talks about Batman in the HBO Max universe, and we know that they're doing that.
Starting point is 00:23:26 The Batman shows, but that would be Pattinson's Batman. So I think those are the four he's speaking about possibly the Titans Live Action one, and then those three movie ones. When he says there's not going to be four, could that mean there's going to be two? I guess so, right? That would not be four. So he could be saying there's going to be Robert Pattinson's Batman, and then one additional Batman, which probably would be Ben Affleck,
Starting point is 00:23:47 if he does come back in the way that Henry Cavill is. Or he is saying that we are going to fold this all into one universe and that it's going to be Robert Patton's. And the only one I feel like who has the, who's not going anywhere, is Robert Pattinson. I mean, they're not going to cut that at its knees. We're obviously going to see an additional, if not an additional two, if not more than that, Robert Pattinson, Batman movies.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Bring it down, Brett. All right. What I want to happen is somebody, we're going to cut this to where there's numbers possible. popping up around your head and then subtraction and all that. Because that's kind of what was going through my head. I was like, what? There's going to be more than one, but not less than four, but almost maybe four, but sometimes three.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Three maybe is the most, but not four. One, definitely one, but two, possibly three minus one equals two. Something like that. Do you guys feel like it was hyperbolic language? No, no, I got what you're saying. I got you what you're saying, but it was. Oh, him for ever. Yeah, like did you guys, when he says there's not going to be four,
Starting point is 00:24:43 are you guys take, because tone of voice matters here, right? Are you taking that as, there's not going to be like four Batman? Are you taking that like they're not going to be four Batman? Well, I think that there's a lot of cleanup. And there's a lot of cleanup on both his part and now with Saffron and Gunn. I think it's a lot of cleanup on their part, right? Because what they had to do for a long time, I thought that their approach when they needed it where they didn't have a good lock for a long time on the DCEU.
Starting point is 00:25:06 They didn't know what the hell it was. And then they're like, well, we're not going to stop making money on these movies. so let's make Joker, let's make the Batman, let's make these standalone movies, and let's not worry about the connected universe right now. And they made money on it, and they did a good job on it. But now that they're clearly going to focus on that,
Starting point is 00:25:23 they've got to make a decision. And that's ultimately what it seems like they're going to do. And because they have a, and this is why the Flash is not going to get, like, canceled or not be released, not only because they think it might be good, right? Because they need it in order to shift and explore, explain through multiverse and all that of why certain things aren't or are, right? So like, let's say they have, they're going to decide.
Starting point is 00:25:48 You're talking about plot-wise. Yeah. The Flash movie you think will explain some of these Batman Flashpoint type situation. It's their chance. It's their way to do it because I think that with Affleck, if they want to have Affleck come back for a couple of movies inside of this story angle, I guess that they could. But if they wanted to just have him come back, he does, because he's supposed to be an Aquaman also. Batman? Yeah, remember Maimoa had tweeted out that picture that him and Afton walking around on set.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Yeah, Ben Affleck. Yeah, Ben Affleck. So he could come back and that could tie in. I'm not sure. It says, doesn't Aquaman come out first? Before. Flash. Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:27 I thought of the right. So then you could tie that in and make it make sense and then you could wrap up. Let me check the dates on that. Yeah, check that. And then Affleck could essentially clear his angle and he's done. Keaton, I love to see Keaton come back, but you don't necessarily need him to be back. forever. Now, I do think there's something very interesting. Now, if they get Matt Reeves on board with this, that's the big thing. I love the idea of folding the patents and Batman inside of this new...
Starting point is 00:26:51 Okay, no. No, it doesn't. Aquaman comes out first. Well, let's fucking see. Yeah. But the Flash is slated for June of 2023 and Aquaman for December. I feel like they pushed that, though. They did, because Aquaman was supposed to come out this year. No, no, I'm saying, I feel like they pushed the Flash again, but maybe it's June. I guess that's what they, so this June, the next June and then December. Interesting. So, well, either way. I mean, maybe they close out the angle in whatever it might be because.
Starting point is 00:27:21 But I seriously want you to answer this question. When you heard that statement, do you believe he is saying there is not going to be four or there's only going to be one? I think that he, I don't think it's a definitive one. So you just think not four. I think that it's going to be a, it's, they're. going to have Batman be part of the actual, like they want them to not, they don't want it to be confusing. They don't want to have a bunch of different ones.
Starting point is 00:27:47 I think that it would make sense if it's just one. I think they should call it just one. If they're going to really focus on this the same way, because you don't have, you know, other whatever at the time when Iron Man was going around, there was another Iron Man movie. But this article interpreted it as just one. You're not interpreting it now. Not yet. What are you?
Starting point is 00:28:07 I'm with you, I think, where you said it. It's not four, but it could possibly be two or three. Yeah, I think that they, I think that we are going to see two Batman moving forward. Okay. And I think that, unfortunately, for the nostalgia people or people like me who love Michael Keaton, I think we are going to see him appear. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:30 But I don't think he's going to be moving forward, the Batman. I think that we are going to get Ben Affleck's the Batman and Robert Pattinson's the Batman. Yeah, that was on Brett. the whole time. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. You got a lot going on, my dude.
Starting point is 00:28:43 You know, Robert Pattinson and what was the other one? Who you said? Ben Affleck. I think you, I think that if, if there are going to be two, I think you're right and those would be the two. Right. If there is one, though, it's got to be Robert Pattinson. Not necessarily.
Starting point is 00:28:58 I don't see a world in which they cut him. They might not cut him. They might say this. They might say, you know, hey, Reeves, wrap up, wrap up your movie with number two. and let's call it a day. I'm just saying if they wanted to, it seems in this report that that's not what's going to be, it's going to be more so involving Pattinson
Starting point is 00:29:18 because people really like that version. I don't want to see it move forward. I do as well, but that was not Reeves plan, and I don't think Pattinson signed on for being part of the DCU. He signed on for maybe two or three films, so that's the other tricky part of it. I cannot picture a world in which saffron and gun
Starting point is 00:29:38 come in under Zazlov, see the success of the Batman, and say to Reeves now, who's clearly planning for a trilogy, you get to. I can't picture it. Or maybe they let him close out the three. Maybe they'll let him close out the three. Maybe that I do think that there's a very good possibility
Starting point is 00:29:58 that we move forward to Batman's. It's Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson. Robert Pattinson's done after the three, then it's just Ben Affleck. But that would be in seven years. Something like that because they also said about the actual slate itself that and guns like don't expect to see it anytime soon and I think soon means Comic-Con. I think that's when you see a slate. How old is Ben Affleck?
Starting point is 00:30:23 48, 49, something like that. Jesus, that's old. No, I would say he's older. He's older than me. Hey, Siri, how old is Ben Affleck? What do you say he's older than me? Ben Affleck is 50 years old. Okay, so it's close.
Starting point is 00:30:34 So do we think that if, do we think that in seven years? Ben Afflickson still want to be Batman. No, I don't think he's got a couple movies in him, and I don't think he's going to be the full-on Batman. I think that the smart play would find a way to, I think it's just so interesting to be able to take that dark world because if they take the Robert Pattinson, Matt Reeves, Batman, and put it in this DCU,
Starting point is 00:30:57 you are making a statement about what your DCU is going to look like. That means that that kind of dark David Fincher style fits into this DCU. And, you know, it would be very interesting to see. Kind of, yes. How does that fit in with Suicide Squad? Well, more so than that, the two, the juxtaposition of Superman and Batman is what runs Justice League, right? Right, right, right. You think about that.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Now we know the kind of Henry Cavill they're going with. Very lighter, more Christopher Reeve type style. Right, which might be cool to see that, like, in contrast, in comparing the two of them. But I just, I don't, okay, let me throw a crazy possibility out at you guys. Is it possible that none of these people are Batman moving forward and they are going to straight up cast a Justice League Batman? Is it possible? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:51 You're going to have to really, really cast someone again. I mean, it's, how many times you're going to recast Batman? Totally. But I'm wondering if what they do is they ride out the Batman movies. I'm not saying this is the best idea. But just thinking about all the things when he says a statement, what it could be, they write out the Bat Reeves Batman movies. That's just a separate entity until it's done.
Starting point is 00:32:13 But what they do is they bring back Ben Affleck, who's probably not going to want to be doing this for another six movies. I just can't picture that. And they have him, you know, we get a nightwing in the mix, and we train a new Batman. And then we like transition us into it. Yeah. It's very possible.
Starting point is 00:32:31 It's an interesting, interesting story. And James Gunn and Safran really have their work cut out for him. man, they have a lot to put together. But I liked, what I did like in that report was the idea that they are working on it pretty heavy. They're starting to create a Bible to figure out which way they're going to go. I have a question I wanted to ask you before. Do you get cold easy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:50 You do? Chili? Yeah, especially now because the weather's starting to change. So what we have been loving in the house of these rumple blankets, Sadie was so, I've had one. Brett, I told you about the one I had for, like, Vivi's size. soccer game. Yeah. Like that was and still is a great one. But I have really struck gold here because my, they sent us one and my wife got a hold of it. And man, she is just loving both of these. It's the
Starting point is 00:33:23 Rumple blanket. And you can go, you'll see the site right there, but Rumple's on a mission to introduce the world to better blankets and they're doing it. They're so good. I take them when I go to like a Vivi soccer game, it's one. I just put it down. That's like you think,
Starting point is 00:35:02 Sometimes if there's like a rock, like I was going to get a rip in it. It's so durable. They're awesome. The colors are cute. They're really, really good. They're really,
Starting point is 00:35:10 really good. All right, we're going to shift over and, hey, see a later. Hey, all right, man,
Starting point is 00:35:17 speaking of D.C., Black Adam is a report. I, I forget, Roxy, what did you say? Did you like this movie? I forgot.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Yeah. It was fun, right? Yeah. That's exactly how I felt. It was fun. Yeah, I liked it. Brett didn't see it.
Starting point is 00:35:32 I like The Rock. Yeah, me too. Without The Rock, this movie bombs. Yeah, I like The Rock, and I like San Andreas, I like Rampage or whatever, any of his movies that are kind of actiony. And then you guys know I'm obsessed with D.C. So. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Well, here's the report, though. Fun. Now, people were telling me about this, and now it looks like it's true. A new report suggests that Black Adam is probably not going to turn a profit by the time it's all said and done, making it highly unlikely that the movie's going to get a sequel, which we've heard so much about. And so here it is. As we're sure that you're aware,
Starting point is 00:36:06 Dwayne Johnson was a pro wrestlerner long before, before becoming an actor. Thank you. Thank you. That may go some way in explaining how he has so effectively hyped Black Adam as a big success during its opening weekend with his time in the squared circle, making him an expert at getting fans to buy what he's selling.
Starting point is 00:36:23 The rap has refuted the DC Comics adaptation status as a hit, though, revealing that the $150 million earned in North America and $350 million global isn't enough for Black Adams to turn a profit. With a $195 million budget, the trade explains that even a final box office hall of $400 million won't take this blockbuster out of the red. They want to point out that while Johnson's immense star power was a draw, Black Adams' underwhelming performance since has proven he may not be enough of one for that movie. That's not fair. Frankly, that wasn't very good. That's what they're saying.
Starting point is 00:36:57 There is a section of Johnson Vantle will turn out for anything that he is in, and it was a major reason why Black Adam posted the first 50 million opening box office has seen in three months. That's true. As global returns sagged in the following weeks and mediocre buzz, Johnson's reach with general audiences fell short. In fact, the trade's estimated point to Black Adam finishing in its run with only slightly more than Shazam's $365 million, a movie that had half the production budget. As a result, a Black Adam sequel, at least a $200 million budget, is far less likely, especially considered. how Warner Brothers has been cutting costs left and right following its merger with discovery. A release in China and Russia may have helped Black Adam break even, but even with Warner Brothers touting a high audience scoring Rotten Tomatoes,
Starting point is 00:37:38 those negative reviews clearly less in interest. The report concludes by adding that while DC bosses James Gunn and Saffron will probably keep Johnson's Black Adam in the DCU, greenlighting another 200 million sequel with results like this is completely off the table. Over the week, in Johnson graciously congratulated Marvel Studios for Black Panther and right and so we can't help of wondering the Rock is wishing you join the MCU and I don't know about that I'm being silly there um I don't agree with this assessment not not the whole not the whole way through they they clearly didn't like the movie so
Starting point is 00:38:11 from that article it was more of a it was like a report plus an opinion piece in it but I like the report itself I understand but that's the part that I kind of don't agree with okay or I guess partially the assessment but number one and maybe I'm not well versed in this enough it doesn't sound to me like this is going to be in the red red. It sounds like it's going. It's barely going to break even. Yes, exactly. Which is not what you're looking for. Right. But not like the craziest bomb we've ever seen. Number two, when you've got the rock willing to do something, I don't see many studios turning him down. Number three, I think that even though he doesn't particularly want to go up against Shazam, it's a completely different conversation
Starting point is 00:38:51 if we're going up against Shazam. And I do think that that would be something that would make a ton of money if we do a Black Adam Shazam movie. So while it might not be called Black Adam 2, I see him headlining or co-headlining a movie in the future. Like Amman and the Wasp or Batman be Superman? For sure, even if it is V Superman,
Starting point is 00:39:11 because I know that's what he wants. But I think a Shazam 3 will not be Shazam 3. I think it will be Shazam versus Black Adam. So there's a lot. And I agree with a lot of what you said, I think that there's a lot here. And the first part of it is that without The Rock, first of all, the movie doesn't get made.
Starting point is 00:39:27 There's no chance that a Blackouta movie gets me because nobody knows. Go ahead, Brett, do you make you make your best. So one of those days where I'm just like, I'm just here. But I agree with everything you're saying. Thank you, Brett. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:39:41 You're not just here. Let me give a watch. I'll talk and we'll have Brett react to it. So I think that without this movie, the Rock does not get made. Right. It doesn't. You think it would get made right? But he, I mean, it's Black Adam, man. Perfect. And to off that point, nobody knew who that character was.
Starting point is 00:40:04 Yeah. It's like hardcore comic book fans. Nobody knew who that character was. And so he got that movie made. He's been talking about it since 2007. He's able to do it. But would it, real quick, just would it have been better to introduce him in a different film first before putting out your straight up Black Adam film? I mean, normally the answer to that question is perhaps, but it was the rock. You know, and he, I think the problem was they should have found a way to not make it for $200 million. They should have made that because the first Iron Man was another movie, even though Iron Man was more well known than Black Adam, still a pretty, at the time, now you don't even think about it, but more of an obscure character than, say, Batman and Superman and, you know, Spider-Man and all these characters. because it was obscure character.
Starting point is 00:40:51 But they made it, the first Ironman budget, Roxy, you want to take a look at how much? I'm going to guess, and I'm going to say that the first Iron Man budget was either $80 million or almost $100. Different time than, though. $140. $140.
Starting point is 00:41:09 It was $140 to budget? Okay. So $140. And still, I mean, that's still, that's a big risk. On Robert Downey Jr. And on an obscure character, it's a big risk. So, but putting $200 million, because who knows how much the rock cost, in general, what his rate was, I don't know. They should try to make that movie for about $120 million because then you have more of an opportunity to make a profit.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Now, the other problem is he has been really, he wanted to be, he was talking about before the gun and saffron thing, he's talking about how he was going to, he wanted to be a consultant, he wanted how he really wanted to drive his narrative for D.C. That ain't happening. There's no chance that happens. agree. I think that they're going to keep Black Adam in it, but they're just going to find a different way to do it. And imagine they change the tone in general and they don't take the rocks version of Black Adam. They make them even a little bit more hardcore because the movie itself, I liked it. But it was a 90s kind of, you know, old school movie that was pretty generic. I'd like to see something like a little different. Do you think that this movie would have made more
Starting point is 00:42:14 money? This is a spoiler for Black Adam if you haven't seen it. Do you think this movie would have made more money if they had advertised that Superman? isn't it? Wasn't it? Yeah. I mean they kind of did. They kind of did. Like full-blown Superman,
Starting point is 00:42:26 like build him trying to get people. Everywhere that he went towards the last week or two, everybody knew Superman. I think that they knew, but I don't think they were advertising it. He was advertising in his outlets. I mean, I mean trailer, full-blown.
Starting point is 00:42:42 Yeah, but the problem with that is... I'm not saying they should have done it. Do you think it would have made more money? No, because I think that the way that he promoted it, because I also think the way that he did it, I thought, was very smart. Because if he was, because Superman wasn't in the movies, he's in a post-credit scene. And he's in it for like two seconds.
Starting point is 00:42:57 So the way that the way that the rock was promoting it, I think was the smart way to do it. And I think that the reason why they made the money that they did, the extra money that was because of the way that he promoted Superman. If this movie had been excellent, it would have made a ton of money. That's what I was going to say. Because all I hear is, it was a good. Like you gave it. It was fun.
Starting point is 00:43:14 It was fun. I think most people I've heard from have said, oh, yeah, it was all right. except for my mom and her movie group, hated it. Do they? Yeah. Really? It was just too.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I only it's for your mom. Yeah. It had two major issues. The first is that the script needed work. And then when your script needs work, then sometimes that's a bummer. But some of the story was good, but the script needed work.
Starting point is 00:43:38 And the second one was the slow-mo stuff. I think people were... Over. Yeah, just like the way, some of the choices that were made I'm going to have to pin that on. Yeah. Because I feel like it made it drag in like at sometimes, and I liked the movie,
Starting point is 00:43:59 but sometimes it made it like eye roll. Agreed. Without those, if they could have tweaked the script a little more, which they definitely had time to do, it felt like maybe too many cooks or something, then I think that this movie could have made a ton of fucking money. Yeah, it could have made more, and I think they could have cut the budget down.
Starting point is 00:44:17 a little bit for sure. You know, it's hard to say to cut the budget down as far as marketing because they needed to because it was more of an obscure character for sure. The timing of it also, an October release, is not traditionally a big box office month. But nothing was around it. No, I know, but it doesn't matter. Even in past when you big, I'd love to know what the biggest movie in October is. I guess everybody wants horror movies that month.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Yeah, it's just not traditionally. And I think they moved. I can't remember why they moved it at all. also but they moved it. I think that in, it felt again, like that movie in, in that movie in,
Starting point is 00:44:54 in like 2000 comes out in June. Mm-hmm. You know, easily. Fun. Yeah. Yeah, but either way,
Starting point is 00:45:02 I don't. This isn't going to be a stinker. The way that article, I was also confused in the line that was like, even if this makes $400,000, it's, $400,000. It makes $400,000.
Starting point is 00:45:12 If it makes $400,000, then it's still going to be in the red. But their budget. it was $195 million. Yeah, but the marketing was probably close to $200. Right, so you're not going to be in the red if it makes $400. $400 million. You'd be right. You'd be right at the, you'd be right at break even.
Starting point is 00:45:28 I think that's exactly what they're going to do. I think they're going to break even. They might be a little in the green, super duper. Not what you want to do with this movie. But then that's not like, we could never do this movie again. It's not like it made $2. Yeah, but I also think that this is, regardless of even if it makes a little bit of money, I don't think that this is the design of what Zach Efron wants to do.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Yeah. Of what Peter Safran and Gunn want to do. I don't think that's what they want to do. I think that's what they want to do. But I just don't think that's what they want to do. I think that they're going to want to work with Dwayne Johnson. They're going to want to use his star power. They're going to want to have conversations with him about getting him involved in it.
Starting point is 00:46:10 What he did for them, though, was he did. Because if you watch that scene that Superman, scene, it doesn't leave you like, okay, well, they're not doing a Black Adam versus Superman movie. What the hell they promised us that? They don't really say anything except Superman going, I'm watching over, you guy. That's really all it is. There's no promise that there's a second movie. They're teasing it.
Starting point is 00:46:31 But what they did do is they brought back Caval of Superman. And that is what James Gunch were like, well, thank you very much. Now we're going to be able to use him. We're going to make a lot of money on the sequel. You know, my Dream of Dream Worlds, I don't think that it's a Black Adam Superman. Like I said, I think it's a Black Adam Shazam. I've always wanted to see that. I think that if to Brett's original question of how they should have introduced them,
Starting point is 00:46:53 that was the only other way they could have introduced him was in a standalone or in a Shazam movie. I think this was the better way to do it. I think we should lead up to that. And then Shazam, if you guys are familiar with the Shazam comics, Billy Batson is fucking obsessed with Superman. Superman is his idol. So I do think that there definitely is room for a Shazam Black Adam movie
Starting point is 00:47:13 and then another little Henry Cavill cameo. While Henry Cowell is doing his other things, I think him being the Superman that pops in as the different person and him being able to do that would be sick. I mean, that would be dream of dreams. They're leading. They're going to, the new DCU minus the Shazam movie that's coming out, The Flash and Aquaman, their first announcement is going to be Superman too.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Man is still too. Yeah. It's going to be. It should be. It's their big. It's going to drive people to the theater. It's going to get people back in there. And he left his show.
Starting point is 00:47:48 And he left his show. Yeah. So, all right, before we move on our Oxy segment, which we're going to get to, I do want to cover one more thing here talking about box office. Is this it? Let's see. Let's see. Yep.
Starting point is 00:47:58 Black Panther. Good job. I think you're very little. Wakanda Forever passes $200 million at the box office. So as Black Panther, Wakanda Forever continues its impressive box office run, Ryan Cougar's MCU sequel has clawed past the 200 million. mark in North America and it's on its way to 500 million so far worldwide. On the heels of its record-breaking opening weekend, Black Panther Wakana Forever, has passed
Starting point is 00:48:23 the 200 million mark at the domestic box office. Deadlines' latest update puts the Ryan Cougar's powerful sequel at 204.8 million after five days on general release. The movie took in 12.4 million yesterday, giving it the third high-grossing Tuesday of November after Frozen 2 and The Hunger Games catching fire. So some people thought, Wakanda Forever's lengthy runtime may ultimately hinder its performance going forward. It's currently the only major blockbuster release in theaters, aside from Black Adam.
Starting point is 00:48:52 For those off school, 45% out Monday and Tuesday, 80% on break Wednesday, and 100% on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. It's not expected to be troubled too much by Disney's animated Strange World. Black Panther 2 is now closing on 500 million worldwide, but can it get to 1 billion plus global hall? As things stand, analysts seem to believe somewhere around 800 to 850. is more realistic, but nobody expected the first movie to climb to as high as it did. Have you been able to see it? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Okay, so that was the comic book movie thing.
Starting point is 00:49:22 So I do want to move to Roxy's TV section just a little bit, but to cover this real quick. I was talking to Roka, who I had on the live streams, he thought, black pants, his box office person, I'd give him shit on it, too. He goes, he goes big, right? He said it's going to make $2 billion. I said, there's no chance. I said, before it came out? I think before it came out. I don't know what he's saying about it.
Starting point is 00:49:43 going to make two billion? I guess, but it didn't. I saw his tweets. It seems like he was not a fan. Oh, he liked that I think. Oh, really? The Namor stuff seemed like it bothered him. Did he?
Starting point is 00:49:53 Okay, I'm not sure. From what I heard, it seemed like he liked it a lot. But 800, I think it's going to be between 750 and 800 is what I would. Billion? Yeah, it's a billion dollars. I think, from what they're saying, I think that, but that's a big number. I saw some, a lot of silly reports saying that at one point that they, people who were saying, oh, Disney's scared, it's going to bomb.
Starting point is 00:50:12 It's like, what are talking about? This movie did not bomb. It made a lot of money. I don't know what the word bomb means. No, and it made a lot of money. Yeah, this movie, I think, is very good. A lot of people ask if it's the best comic book movie of the year, I don't think it is. I think that's a Batman.
Starting point is 00:50:28 This is a very good movie, though. It's a really great job following up. It's too somber to make $2 billion, because it should be. It's got the right tone, and they did a great job and a respect. But it's not like the most fun movie in the world. Avatar was the most fun movie in the world. Yeah, but that was a different medium. Like that was a whole new visual.
Starting point is 00:50:53 I'm talking about because in order to make a billion dollars, you have to have repeat viewing. Like it is huge on the repeat viewing. This movie as I did really like it, would I see it twice in theaters? Yes. But are people going to go see this 10 times in theaters? I can't picture it in the same way. I agree with you. I mean, I liked the movie.
Starting point is 00:51:10 I didn't love it, but I liked it a lot. And I think that it would, I don't need to see it in the theater again. Right. Definitely watch it on Disney Plus again. For sure. For sure. On the same way. Sorry, where'd you stand on the Iron Heart, the Rui-R-Ree thing?
Starting point is 00:51:25 Did I like her and I? I feel like I'm the only ones who did. Yeah, I didn't like her. Yeah, most people didn't. Yeah. I thought, it's funny, I said people were pushing back on this. And I said that it seems like she was in there to say, hey, we have this new show coming in. and we're going to build this storyline up so you follow the show.
Starting point is 00:51:45 And then someone's like, well, Ryan Cooleer said that they didn't even know they were going to do a show with her. So that's why, you know, they liked her so much that he developed a show around her. I'm like, you're telling me that Kevin Feigie didn't know he wanted to do an Ironheart show? Yeah, I don't know. And they put it into play that fast. I don't know. Yeah, I liked her. A lot of people did.
Starting point is 00:52:04 A lot of people did. I just, I just, it wasn't. She wasn't my favorite and it's not, it doesn't need to be the focus because there's like so many other characters. that we already know and love. That's one of the best parts about Black Panther is that they have, like, legit, seven characters that I actually give a shit about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:20 But, yeah, I thought she was fun. All right, now we are, before we move to Roxy, one last thing I do want to tell you guys about as we move on. So, Roxy, you're looking for some new gifts? Always. Okay, you're going to, you'll like this one. So this is one I think, I'm waiting for Roxy, go, wait a minute, you didn't tell me about this?
Starting point is 00:52:37 Well, I'm going to tell you about this right now. Here we go. Let me tell you about on the common goods, I got something. Brett the other day was like, can I take this cheeseboard? Like, you know, you cannot have my cheeseboard
Starting point is 00:52:46 that I got from Uncommon Goods. I love it. They're really, really great. So if you want to avoid boring, basic, and bland gifts this year, you go to Uncommon Goods and it's your secret weapon. So I know this is me. I'm talking to all you dudes out there right now,

Starting point is 00:53:56 Don't miss out on this limited time offer. Uncommon Goods. We're all out of the ordinary. I love it. Go get it. Please check out. And that's another one. Let me know once you do if you like it or not. Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:10 So as I've been telling you, you guys every Thursday uh well during the summertime my brother was like hey I'm always looking for stuff to watch on TV and I always want to try to find some stuff and I don't always really know where to go on streaming and and all that and I'd love if you guys did like a a segment on that would be great like roxy isn't she watch everything she does it was a great idea so my brother actually thought about it and we've been doing it for a few weeks now and roxy's back and roxy got some uh we got some some things to watch yeah wow I curate these lists for you you guys, man. I really try to think about it.
Starting point is 00:54:44 You ready for the first one? Here we go. Please tell me you watched it, Christian. I watched it. Yes. Oh, come on. You know I was going to watch it. I was so happy. Did you love it? Tulsa King came out. There's only one episode out right now. I beg you guys get on this early because it's going to be big. And once there's a few episodes of the show, I know how it works. You talk to yourself and you just say like, I don't have time to watch so many.
Starting point is 00:55:06 If you just do one a week, then you're going to be right with the crew. Get on this. I loved it. I thought that the premiere was awesome. The first half of it, you're like, where is this going to go? And then when we go in, I'm like, wow, Stallone is so good. Stallone's great in this role. He's so good. Because he's not, I was expecting, okay, it's Stallone. So, of course, he's going to wind up being like a good guy.
Starting point is 00:55:28 He's not a good guy. He's not. I mean, you root for him because he's Stallone, but he's not a good guy. Smashing heads. It's got to get shorty vibe to a bit more serious. Yeah. But there's only one part of the episode that I didn't like. And it was the very end.
Starting point is 00:55:42 It was a little convenient. Like, oh, that's who that person is. That's convenient. You know what I'm talking about? Of course I do. I thought the same thing. I do think that, you know, when you take writing classes they teach you, you're allowed to have one coincidence. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:53 This was their one coincidence. I will give it to them. If that's a consistent theme, that I'm going to be like, but if that's the one, then it's the one. But I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it a lot. Brett didn't even know it was on. Oh, man. And now.
Starting point is 00:56:05 It is good. Oh, no. That's not the wrong show. Yeah. I didn't know it was on yet. I thought, uh. So you didn't watch it. No, and what's that on Rocks?
Starting point is 00:56:12 Paramount Plus? That's the problem. Well, it's the rub. Well, that's, the reason I say it like that is because I go to watch Yellowstone because it dropped this week, which I'll tell you about when there's more episodes, but I already told you as you have to be watching Yellowstone. But it's impossible to find. It's not on my Paramount Plus.
Starting point is 00:56:31 It's not on my Paramount app. It's not on Peacock where the other seasons are. I have to watch it on my, on Xfinity, which I'm like, I'm super confused. on how they're doing whatever. So that's why I said Tulsa King is on Paramount Plus, but that was easy to find. Definitely is, yeah. Rock's question for you.
Starting point is 00:56:50 With what we have on Hulu, Netflix, Prime, everything, is it time for me to get one of these Paramount or Peacock? And if so, which one should I get? Because I feel like I have plenty of stuff, but is there stuff on Paramount? You have Apple? I have Appled, yes. Okay, that's the one that I keep pushing. HBO Mac.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Paramount Plus. I think so, but it depends on what you're into because like there's all the Paramount Plus stuff is very rugged, I would say. They have good movies, though, too. They do. So does Peacock. Peacock's got some good stuff too. Yeah, and Peacock has some funny stuff.
Starting point is 00:57:30 All right, let's move on to Roxy's next pick, and let's see what that is, and that is. Okay, I don't think I had told you guys enough about the show, and Thanksgiving is coming up, which makes me really hungry. So what's the show for people? I'm recommending the bear. Thank you. I like to give a little. Oh, a little thing up time.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Yeah, yeah. Because you get people into it and then you tell them what it is. Sorry, I won't interrupt you again. Yeah, yeah. I don't want to get you all that. I'm sorry. That was really rude. I was thinking how rude it was.
Starting point is 00:57:52 I'm so sorry. I won't do anything else for the remainder of it to interrupt. Go ahead, please. Uh-huh. Yeah. So the bear on FX, this is Jeremy Allen White, who comes from shameless, who I am obsessed with. It also, speaking of your beloved Andor, has Evan Moss, has cousin. who is
Starting point is 00:58:11 He was in one of the episodes, yeah, yeah. A couple of the episodes. Yeah, the three-angle, the three episode, I forget that. The heist stuff. Yeah, yeah, uh, skiing or something like that.
Starting point is 00:58:20 It was his name. He's, he was, yeah, I don't want to give it away. Yeah, he's great in that show. He's better in this show, though. It's a,
Starting point is 00:58:26 it's such a unique vibe to it. It's already been picked up for a season two. But if you are in the mood for, it has a November vibe to me. It has that Thanksgiving. It takes place in a kitchen. It's very tense. If you've ever worked in a kitchen, they nailed it, how it feels to be, like, in that rush.
Starting point is 00:58:46 And, again, it's picked up for a season two. And I think that season two is going to be even stronger the way that we leave season one, the premise of season two. I'm like, okay, watch this work on it. You watch this? Oh, yeah, we finished it. Yeah, we loved it. We really, we binge the hell out of this one. This one was one where I'm like, hey, I've heard.
Starting point is 00:59:00 And I think you had brought it up before. And she says, I've heard my wife said I heard a bunch of people talking about it. And yes, we both, we met working at CPK. I mean, like, we met in a kitchen, you know, so it was like, we were in it to win it. So let me tell you like, so, so you know, and he knows this anyway. He's going to pat himself on the back. Everybody at the, at CPK was going after his wife. Everybody.
Starting point is 00:59:21 And he, before he had even taken a shot. Everybody was like, and she was, get away from me, get away from me, get away from me. And then we're like, yeah, Brett's gone. Good luck, Brett. And next thing you know, he's got two kids. Were you stud muffin? You had away with the ladies? No, I wasn't at all.
Starting point is 00:59:38 Just funny, man. No, it just worked in right time, right place. And I think, yeah, I mean, I had a- It's hung like a rhinoceros. Yeah. How'd you work that into conversation? The first thing he says. Yeah, that's how you lead.
Starting point is 00:59:50 Yeah. It's scared most of the women. Bring us back. What did you say? I said, when I asked her out? Yeah, but the rhinoceros part. Yeah, go ahead. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:57 Well, I was like, hey, listen, you seem like you walk fine now. Right. But later. Do you like rhinoceros penis? You might not walk. I've heard hung like a horse. Do rhinos have big shlong?
Starting point is 01:00:08 It's a rhinoceros. Even if it's small, it's big. It's probably too big. It's like an elephant penis. It could be like a whale, though. It could go inside. What are you going to do? I need somebody to help prop me up while we do it.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Like a cane. All right, let's keep moving. Roxy. So the bear is the one that you like a lot. Yeah, it's great. Okay. It's excellent show. Okay, this is, I haven't seen yet.
Starting point is 01:00:32 It's coming out and I'm looking forward to it. Six days. Yeah. Seven days. This show is welcome to change. Chippendales. It's going to be on Hulu. I am super curious about the story of how Chippendale started, Camille Monsiani, and I'm hearing decent things about it. I always love these, I guess it's not true crime, although I'm sure that there is some crime stuff happening here. And I, if you guys are a fan of like
Starting point is 01:00:59 Magic Mike stuff, but also then you're fan of these doc-series scripted things, I think this one's going to be good, just wanted to put it on everybody's radar. He makes me a little bit. nervous, no. But his body. Well, he got himself in shape. I like him, but he does seem now as he's getting more success, he does the same thing in every role. There's never, he's the same in every single role. But can't you picture him in this role?
Starting point is 01:01:25 Yes, but it would be the same that he's in every single role. It's like, it's always like, it'll be, I hope it's more like Big Sick in where it's, you know. I love that movie. Me too. And more like a drama with. I think it's going to be. This is going to be a dark, either a comedic drama or a dark comedy thing. I don't know the specifics, but there were some dark shit around the starting of it.
Starting point is 01:01:47 Yeah, I'm sure there was. That's why I hope that they, they see, okay, so that comes out, keep putting that one on it. That comes out on November 22nd. Okay, all right, let's see the next one here. We did that one. All right. Okay, this one is on the list because I think if you're going to spend time with your family for the holidays, this is a great family show to watch.
Starting point is 01:02:06 It's never have I ever. I have hyped this show for a long. time. But there has been three seasons of it. It is Mindy Kaling produced and it is just really good teenage coming of age, Netflix. It is awkward and uncomfortable. But I think that if you're looking for something to binge with your family and your home for a little bit, you don't want to do much talking and you want to do more watching, this is a good one to have some fun with. It's not over the top raunchy so it's not like you're going to get into any butt stuff but there is enough that you'll still be entertained while watching with your fam all right and that's minnie kaling so produced yeah
Starting point is 01:02:46 produced okay uh let's see next one here Atlanta's on my list this week because it was the Atlanta series series series which is crazy I've been watching this show since 2016 and it was one of my favorite shows since the day it got on FX. I think that Donald Glover is a true genius. I think that this show took Lakeith Stamfield and Brian Tyree Henry and Zazzie Beats and Donald Glover and made them all A-list celebrities and which is crazy. But the problem with that is that none of the four of them were able to film multiple episodes together. So the final season, the final two seasons are all very isolated. We're following. Kind of we're following one or two of them. And then different scenes.
Starting point is 01:03:35 It's not like the core four altogether. The craziest part about this finale, even though the show was still excellent by the end, it was always a great, well-done show. The craziest part about the finale, and I'm seeing the internet drag it, is that I had no idea it was a series finale after watching it, because it's just a random episode.
Starting point is 01:03:55 Oh, it doesn't feel like a series finale. Not only does it not feel like that, when I researched it, they said we didn't want to do like a series finale. they just wanted another episode. And it really was just like a random episode. And that was it. And that was it.
Starting point is 01:04:10 Yeah, that's not. It was a good episode, but it was like, right, but sometimes people do that, they try to go outside the box and be like different. It's like, it's so on the nose that they're trying to be different that it's annoying. Yeah, it was kind of like after all these years, can you give me a little bow? Right.
Starting point is 01:04:27 Like anything on there? But the truth is, this show was phenomenal start to. finish even in the episodes that don't focus on the four of them even in the bottle episodes even in the times where i'm like oh can we just get them all together in one room it still is like such a incredible show that i do think it's worth now binging the entire thing but the final two seasons not having the four of them in that final episode just being like another good random episode i was like wow interesting i kind of think they're going to come back for another season in seven years okay well let's see so there you go so that's alina and then the final one
Starting point is 01:05:00 Have you guys seen the Taylor Tom and Sondock that, I mean a special that came out in March of this year? No, that was bizarre. The TV just turned on in the background. I just figured you were playing another thing to intro it. No, I didn't. How did that happen? Probably, hey, Siri. Oh.
Starting point is 01:05:20 I didn't even hit any button. I feel like I said seriously, maybe. Hey, Siri, turn off. Siri, turn off. That's in my phone. This is chaos. Go ahead. Tell us about this.
Starting point is 01:05:31 All right, fine. Taylor Tomlinson. She has a special that came out in March. And I am putting this on my list because I have watched it 17 times. Oh, my God. Really? I have never related to a special more in my life. It's on Netflix.
Starting point is 01:05:46 It's called Look at You. It's her follow up to quarter life crisis. Do you know her at all? Okay. Go ahead, Bray. You know her? Yeah, I've seen so many on, like, TikTok. And then we tried to watch it.
Starting point is 01:05:57 And I'd already seen most of the bits. So it didn't hit as well. But yeah, she's very funny. She's young as shit, you know. Yeah, that's how I like them. I think she's... I mean, but she's up-aged, though, right. Sitting it.
Starting point is 01:06:17 That's how I like it. What's young as shit? I think she's 26. Oh, that's not young as shit. But to be as massive of a star, she is at that age. She's just wildly successful. But I love her because her, this set is about her being diagnosed. is bipolar and it's about her mom dying and those two things she is so raw in it and her jokes are
Starting point is 01:06:43 so fucking funny and I think even at one point she says if my jokes make you uncomfortable tough shit you should have worked harder so you could be standing here and I was just like she doesn't give a shit she and she drags herself and her dating life in a way that I'm just like this special is so good and I feel like she is not as talked about yeah I didn't I mean I'm also not as it into the anymore but i until just now i've never heard yeah she is so so great uh especially if you are of the like younger millennial or even older gen z crowd i think she really speaks to that i texted my little sister madam was like you have to watch this she's so so funny and raw that it's definitely both of her specials are worth your guys time they're on netflix if you're looking
Starting point is 01:07:30 if you love stand up and you have gone through everything and everybody you know she's a good person crowd work is great too. Like a lot of the clips I've seen on like TikTok and stuff have been about her like, you know, doing some crowdwork. Very funny. Yeah, she's funny. Great comedian. Well, there you go.
Starting point is 01:07:43 Roxy. Thank you so much once again. Those are Roxy's picks. And we are at the end of our show, ladies and gentlemen. How about that? Let's go. I'm responding to everything. I check the day that it comes out, I check the next day. I check for like four days.
