Starting point is 00:00:00 America's first pledge was freedom. Jeep still carries that fighting spirit. With the Jeep Declaration of Deals, we're pledging our allegiance to the American people with great deals on the luxurious Grand Cherokee, with available three-row seating, premium craftsmanship and tech that turns every drive into an adventure. Or Jeep Rangler with legendary 4x4 capability and open-air freedom. Because Freedom deserves the vehicle built to carry it. Jeep, there's only one.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Hurry into your local dealer for the Jeep Declaration of Deals. Jeep has won more awards over its lifetime than any other SUV brand. Brande chief of the Jeep grill or registered trademarks of FCAUS LLC. Blade got removed from Marvel. Ouch. That's not good. What does that mean? Is it going to keep happening?
Starting point is 00:00:41 Are we ever going to get Blade? Is it the end of Mahershal Ali as potentially Blade? Will it keep them in the MCU? Will the sound work for Roxy and Mike? All these questions and more on the live episode of, of the Christian Harlov show. So let's get into it. It's me and Roxy and Mike.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Here we go. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the Christian Harlov Show live edition. Here's what we're going to do, because I'm going to need you guys to let me know if this is working. So, first of all, here's Roxy Shrier. Roxy say something.
Starting point is 00:01:29 We're going to see if the people can hear you. I don't think they're going to be able to hear you. So I think you're going to be in trouble. The levels that I see. I don't think they're going to hear you. So I'm going to have to do something in a second. Mike, how about you? No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:01:52 So here's what I'm going to now. Here's what I'm going to have to do. I'm going to do what Roxy's not going to like here, but I'm going to do this. And because let's double check. All right. Now, let me hear you, Rocks. Hi, hello, hello.
Starting point is 00:02:10 No, I literally, as you know, I can't do the show like that. Because then I can't hear it's like, ah, ah, ah. Yeah, I don't think it's, so is it echoing for anybody? else out there yeah I'm not saying that Christian you know I'm not saying that no I don't know I'm just saying if it's echoing for anybody else if if that is see Roxy's good now Roxy's good everybody can hear Roxy Roxy's getting an echo for on her end that we can't that we can't hear it so it's hard for me to fix it because I can't I can't hear it you can hear the echo now I hear the echo big time yeah it's only with you guys for
Starting point is 00:02:40 some reason this show I don't know what it is it's just something different every time which is what the fuck is even above me on the screen why is it so black uh i don't know so i'll try it i'll try it again and see but there's some kind of fixture on the same is it not it's not echoing for me now it isn't no okay is it echoing for you mike are you actually i hear you guys fine oh well look at that so somehow it worked i don't know how but here we are welcome back everybody um just like that sucks we figured it out um good well how how How? Let's not worry about that.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Let's just worry that we have a show. We have a show. We have a show. So thanks for being here. Everybody, thanks for joining us, as always, Monday through Friday. We had to change things up. Mike's here, which is great. I was supposed to have tomorrow was going to be just the Matthew Lillard show with me.
Starting point is 00:03:38 But because I'm actually going to record an interview on Thursday with the breakout star from the penguin, I love this kid. the kid, Vic from the penguin. I'm going into the city to go interview him. And yes, I'll be asking about Miles Morales. So, where? It's in the city. And then.
Starting point is 00:04:00 I heard that part. At a studio. Yeah, I'm running out of studio in order to do it. Oh, that's so great. It'll be good. And then we're going to have, you know, the other thing is that will air just a little later on, probably next week, but Thursday we're going to do a show. would be Stefan and and Brett.
Starting point is 00:04:20 So yesterday, John Roca hit 61 questions. Mike last week hit 113, won it last week. Oh, Mikey. That's right, baby. He's by himself, yeah. He was by himself. So the question is, can Roxy and Mike do it together? They've gotten close before.
Starting point is 00:04:43 So we're at 16 already, so that's a good start. another reason we were late today is because at the last minute they changed up the there's a big story that dropped and I don't know if you guys saw this we were kind of going through some sound difficulties at the time so Blade officially it's officially removed from the release calendar for Marvel what does that mean overall so let's let's get into this story this is from variety and the day Walker will have to wait a little longer to have his time in the sun. Cleva. Marvel Studios has removed its reboot of Blade starring Mahershala Ali as the titular half vampire from the release calendar.
Starting point is 00:05:28 It was dated for November 7, 2025. Meanwhile, Marvel added three untitled projects to the schedule for February 18th, 28, May 5th, 28, and November 10th, 2028. The comic book Empire's decision to take Blade off the docket was widely expected after Disney CEO Bob Iager stated an earnings call on May 7th that Marvel will release a maximum of three movies a year. Of the four superhero films Disney previously had slated for 2025, including Captain America Brave New World, Thunderbolts and the Fantastic Four First Steps, Blade is the project furthest from starting production. Director Jan Demage also exited the film in June, further delaying the project after a litany of setbacks. Blade first jumped from November 2003 to a September 2024 release after the first director on the film
Starting point is 00:06:17 Basim Tarek departed on the production in 2022. Domain stepped in as a director, but following the 2023 writer strike, Marvel suspended pre-production and pushed the movie again to November of 2025. Regular Marvel scribe Eric Pearson has taken on screenwriting duties following passes by Michael Green,
Starting point is 00:06:36 Stacey Ose Koffa, Michael Starberg, Bo DeMaio, and Nick Palisado. Marvel first announced the project in 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con following a meeting between Ali and Marvel chief Kevin Feige in which the actor pitched himself for a reboot. Film trilogy led by Wesley Snips from 98 to 2004. Known by the alter ego of Eric Brooks, Blade is one of the most classically horror characters in Marvel's roster. He can wield vampire powers without their weakness to daylight, which fuels his mission to eradicate the bloodsuckers from Earth. That's it. That's the way the end of the article. Okay, fine.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I don't know who's writing that one. Um, anyway, it's over, right? You gotta let you got to let you got to let you got to earth cool. Let the article end. Commonwealth and the article article is great. Great. So Mahershaw Ali has got to go right. For him he's if I'm him I'm like I'm not doing the same I'm out I've been too many things on my schedule I got to I got to do something else. Mike go ahead what are you going to say? Yeah no I've been saying this for years and I've gotten so much crap from it. like as an actor like okay so 2019 her her myershala was poised to be a movie star everything was lining up the Oscars are just happy he had a couple Oscar runs and what is he done as an actor that I that you
Starting point is 00:07:55 can say like big movie got him out there in the past five years well I can't think of anything the Netflix movie did very well for them but it's Netflix a Netflix movie yes this guy has how many opportunities has he passed up because like ah you can't you're filming blade during this time Right. You can't. Him and his people, we're out. When he took the Jurassic Park franchise, he was done. He's like, I'm out. We're done. This movie will never happen with him.
Starting point is 00:08:21 No. They will need a new blade. It has to also. Plus the fact, when he signed on, it was like six years ago. It would be almost seven or eight years ago before it goes. He's going to be pushing into his 50s. Depending on what they want to do, the Marvel idea of where they want to go and the story that they have in general, I think they should get a younger blade at this point.
Starting point is 00:08:38 But what they should do, Roxy, I think, is make up for what happened here and give this guy any other role that he wants inside the MCU. What do you feel about this whole thing? I don't know if it's like a bartering system like that. I think it should be. Maybe. Yes, as we know, Hollywood is nothing but fair and equal. We took this role from you, but do not worry.
Starting point is 00:09:04 We have a better one. That is how it always works. of I think that while Mike is technically correct, that his name is not in the conversation the same way because of the lack of like massive movies as if there had been a blade, of course there would be. But he's still in the conversation because of blade. Like it still has done a lot for his clout. I feel like we are weekly still talking about him because we are talking about this movie. And if you are a television fan like I am, of course, then for, for. sure like his i know this doesn't matter to you guys but his run on rami was unbelievable he played
Starting point is 00:09:43 the most incredible role on that show and it is like one of the most respected shows for tv rami's incredible and then true detective of course which is more popular so it's not like he's been sitting twiddling his thumbs um but and i'm not saying you're saying that you know he's still working he's just not as big of a star at this point as people thought that he would be in the last five years uh And in terms of what I think they should do with Blade, I don't know. I feel like he's kind of the balls in his court right now where he can just chill and be like, listen, hit me up if it happens. And if it happens, we'll have a new conversation.
Starting point is 00:10:19 But until then, I need to pursue other things. Well, I think you're right. And I think that's one of the reasons why, like, when he signed on for this in the first place, it was to do just that, right? Roxy, and that's to up his cloud. And so you're thinking at that time, the trajectory that he was on, you're like 2019. Yeah, let's sign on to this thing. Marvel's huge, let's do it, and it'll come out in 2022, whatever.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Okay, you're pushing it in 2023? Okay, 224, 25, 20, it's like, I'm done. No, no, thank you. But also, and think of it, look at it this way. When he was announced, 2019 Comic-Con, end game would just come out, Marvel's the biggest thing in the world. Now, Marvel's a very different place.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Right. It's a very, like, he doesn't need it at this point. That Jurassic Park franchise is going to do a lot more to get his name out there. to get his cloud out there to get the projects he wants. It's kind of like when Chris Evans took cap, like Robert Dyn Jr. sat down and said, hey, man, take this because it's going to allow you to do all those smaller things you want to do
Starting point is 00:11:17 or have the opportunity to. But let's not pretend that Marvel's completely. He's got a franchise now. But Marvel's not like dead. No, it's not, but it's not what it was six years ago. No, that's true. Roxy, you're going to say? I just wonder if there's going to be a Deadpool Wolverine 2 in which Merchel Ali comes out like Gambit did.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Yeah. Oh, God. this whole thing like that has to happen right like if if that's what goes down it should it somebody when that happens clip this moment out you heard it should the question is though how right now the wounds are probably too fresh yeah yeah but that will take another couple years at that point it's almost like a no-brainer at that point that you have to do that right so i don't know i just think that they're probably and then the other thing inside of that article was that they announced other movies coming out in like 2027, 2028, that's, that's X-Men, right?
Starting point is 00:12:11 Gotta be. Got to be. Right? What were they called? Untitled, Bluntit. Untitled Marvel movies. Yeah. Yeah, 27, I think 2020-8 is what it said.
Starting point is 00:12:20 I'll double check. What is the first round four movie? That's fantastic four is, yeah, it is July of 2025. So you don't think 2028 probably is a second Fantastic Four. Possible. I mean, that's certainly possible, but I think that, maybe in one of those yeah rocks because they're going I think that the whole future of marvel past the Avengers this time is fantastic for and X-Men I think that's what it should be
Starting point is 00:12:45 I think they should stay away from doing a lot of other stuff but it's yeah February 18th 2028 May 5th 2028 and November 10th 2028 so I think those are potentially as you were saying if you'd have like three years in between for for a fantastic four sequel if you wanted it unless you do two years. So you're probably right. It probably would could potentially be a sequel. And then two X-Men movies inside of that, unless one of those is a Deadpool and Wolverine part two. That honestly could be. Yeah. If it's one of them could be X-Men, one of them could be Deadpool Wolverine, which I guess is an X-Men movie as is. And the third one could be fan for. Yeah. So do you think though, I mean, the reason I brought up that whole thing, Roxy, I know
Starting point is 00:13:29 normally that's not how it works. Like, hey, it didn't work out for you this time. So here's another role. They don't do that traditionally. No, I totally get what you're saying, because they also, it is important to keep the peace with him. That's what I mean. Total dress strong and along. I'm not, what you're saying is not not valid. I'm just laughing. It doesn't happen. That's not how
Starting point is 00:13:46 it happens, but it could and should happen here because, and not that he would take it, but it should be offered. And like, hey, man, we know this has been a nightmare for the last, you know, six, five, six years. I don't know. You know who's paying attention to this right now? D.C. Yeah, gunman.
Starting point is 00:14:02 and saffron. I mean, they are helicoptering in right now. They are, they were waiting for this announcement, and they're about to, like, like, 100%. For sure. And they should. And they should. And he should say, thank you so much, Marvel. It's been fun. Hello, DC, bright and shiny. Where are we going for the future? Yeah. Oh, you want to start DC movie news again? Nice to see you, Mikey and Roxy. Let me come on the show. There you go. Just like that. That's, that's your pitch. And I like it. Um, yeah, I think that it's going to be a, it's inevitable that he should, he should, he should walk away. I think Mike's right. I think he did. I think he knew that this was the beginning of the end, especially when they made that announcement. So, bummer, because I think you would have been a great
Starting point is 00:14:46 blade. I think that's what we're not really talking. He would have been a, I mean, perfect choice, but wasn't meant to be. Unless, what do you guys think? Do you think that is a possibility that he still could do it, or are you with us? It's just like, no, let it, at this point, just let, let it go. and he will, he's a great actor, he'll be in other things. Go ahead and put your comments in there. What say you? I got to hear. Now, before we move on, because we have some other stuff,
Starting point is 00:15:11 we have that Dune story that we're going to talk about. I want to tell you guys about AG1 and Built. And here we go. Built. Starting point is 00:18:11 You take a look. You find something right for you. You get it. You help out the show. Did you guys check out, I know Mike you did. Roxy, did you watch Rebel Ridge? No, and everybody said that I should have and that it was good. And then I didn't.
Starting point is 00:18:23 And then I missed out on meeting what's the, name Aaron. Aaron Pierre. Aaron Pierre. Now, I don't know. I just started watching it last night. It's good. I think, and I don't know if Mike said this, but I know at least other people have said it. It's, it's the movie itself is fine. He's great. He's great. So I can tell you that within seconds of watching this movie, I said, well, yeah, I understand immediately why they cast this guy. A friend of this show, DJ Wildridge is like obsessed with him now.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Yeah. The first time I heard of him was after that. And DJ was like, this guy's about to be a star and then obviously he was announced yeah and he's and he's also in the uh the mofasa movies the voice i guess of uh of muffa i think yes yeah so he's he's he's another guy that we're just talking about like where mike you were talking earlier about mahercial a ali i think this is a guy that is and he's and he's significantly younger he's going to be this guy's going to be a major star he's got he's got that presence about him like i'm telling you like even like i never really seen him before just hearing about him and talking about on this show and from the second this movie starts off he's on a bike you and then it just the movie
Starting point is 00:19:31 just starts um and he is he just got it he's just that guy that's got it so i think i can't even believe that it took him that long to decide between him and somebody else i think they should is that no yeah that's everything i've heard mike talk about with the john stewer the green lantern um this guy embodies it right yeah he does it's it's um yeah Yeah, you know, there's a little flack from certain areas about certain things that we don't need to get into. Yeah. I have no idea what you're talking about. And since you just said that I kind of would love you to tell me what you mean.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Okay. I'll talk about it. Okay. What about spoilers? No, it's not a spoiler. It's just there was some flack from people about him being cast. And it was something that I was not aware of. I didn't hear anything about that.
Starting point is 00:20:19 No, it was something I was not aware of colorism. Oh, yeah. You know, Winston. Winston. He wasn't dark and black enough. And I, I, Winston brought that up. Shannon had to explain it to me. Winston brought it up like he felt that, Christian?
Starting point is 00:20:30 Uh, he understood the argument and, and talked about it. I was, Shannon had to kind of educate me on it. And I had no idea. I was like, wow. Why because it's John Stewart specifically? It's a darker skin black man. Or he's always portrayed that with, you know, it's animated or drawn in a comic. It's never been a live action version where that was the default set,
Starting point is 00:20:54 default, you know, look of the character. So that's a conversation that I'm not a part of and I just did not think. I think that conversation goes away once the show comes out. 100%. He's going to be great. Yeah. So we'll see. But anyway, and then, yeah, but either way, I started watching it last night,
Starting point is 00:21:13 really enjoy the movies, I really enjoy him in the movie so far. And Don Johnson's great, obviously. Oh, man, he's good. He's really good. Because he wasn't like a one-note mustache twirling villain. No, there's something. Yeah, there's more. there's more to the reason why they're doing what they're doing to him, which I like,
Starting point is 00:21:28 because I thought it was just going to be a pure kind of first blood rip-off. And it wasn't a first-blood rip-off. I mean, there's certain elements. Shades of it, sure. A hundred percent, but it's, yeah, I like the way they did it. The story that we were going to lead with today before the Blade news was that Roxy and I are big Dune fans, Mike, not so much, but appreciates it. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Well, we've got news. They kept talking to ask Deney and Villanoo. If Dune 3 was coming, what was happening. Well, now there's a report that Dune 3 is going to start filming already in early 2026. So that's a pretty big story all in itself. The third Dune is now filming in early 2026. This either means you're going to get it at the end of 2026, which is unlikely, but you probably, I would say again, March of 27 following up with where it landed for this year's Denevo News film adaptation of Dune Messiah appears to have set a filming window in today's
Starting point is 00:22:23 THR piece about Tom Holland, boarding filmmaker Christopher Nolan's next film, which we will talk about also. It's indicated that filming on Spider-Man 4 was delayed long enough that his co-star Zendaya will be shooting June 3, 26, rather than next year. It's expected that Holland will film his Avengers' Doomsday scenes in the Nolan film in the first half of 2025, that he and Zendaya will film Spider-Man 4 in the back half of 2025, with her going on. on to film Messiah in 2026. So that is also filming commitments for the third season of Euphoria, which is expected to take place.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Is that not right? It's not not right. It's just, I mean, what a crap shoot it is, whether they're ever going to film Euphoria or not. Right, because it's been such a, that's been a thing in general, right? Yeah. Push, push, push, push. It's expected to take place in early 2025.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Another potential reason for the 26 shoot is the cinematographer, Greg Frazier, who will be lensing Matt Reeves the Batman Part 2. from April to October of next year. The film should see the return of several key talents from the prior two films, Timothy Chalemay, as Villeneuve has previously indicated, the film will close out the Paul Trader's story and will mark Villeneuve's last foray into this universe.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Going by the filming dates, the title will likely hit mid-late 2027, making the gap between each of the film around three years. I'm okay with this. I'm okay with it being later. I mean, remember those, the days when we would have a movie come out and then three years later that's when the sequel came out now we're just ready to go go go contradicts itself in the article though because it says
Starting point is 00:24:02 that it will be filming and it will come out mid to late 2027 but then it said that it feels like it's coming out March 2027 which is not mid to late and I am curious what like if they do film top of 2026 are they going to aim for this one to be a December release which wouldn't be 2026 would be 2027 so then we're waiting to all the way the end of that year or do you think they are going to do a march kind of thing i think march again the way because you're right originally it was supposed to come out in December of 2023 and then the strike pushed it back and it might have done really well in December who knows but it did pretty I think it would do gang busters man this is like such an epic haul don't you see everybody going for the holidays perhaps I mean it's just
Starting point is 00:24:52 It depends also of what the competition is in that, because it's a darker movie, you know, and it's not as feel good as some of these other movies. And is there an Avatar movie landing in December? You know, is there another what's landing in December? So I think March is a good spot for June because it already proved that it could do very well. So I think that it makes sense. They're like, look, we had good success with it in March of 2024. Let's do March of 27.
Starting point is 00:25:18 If we can knock it out, it gives Deney enough time to do it. I like that they're not pushing it. I like giving it the opportunity. I like making sure everybody's in play and not pushing it. But Mike, I know you're not a fan necessarily of Dune, but the overall game plan here, what do you think? Hey, man. Like, people want to go for it.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Like, last night I went to the movies. And AMC was doing like a rerun of Dune 2. And I went like, I don't know why I was going to see like, well, maybe I'll see it again. And the theater was sold out. Wow. Yeah, sold out. And again, so they're,
Starting point is 00:25:51 I mean, it's a fan base and if they can keep making them, it's funny, I'm curious, do they make a profit on those films or no? Yeah, they made a profit on the Dune movie. Okay, hey, keep making them then. Yeah, definitely. Go for it. Yeah. So, Roxy, do you think this is the, do you think it's a problem that they're coming out of
Starting point is 00:26:06 this late? Instead of shooting in 2025 or? No, I'm just such a fan of it. You need the time, take the time. And also, they do have massive stars. I mean, getting everybody aligned. But the one thing that is, when things are announced for that far in advance, it's like, we've seen, we see this all the time.
Starting point is 00:26:23 You never know what can happen between them and now. You never know what can happen with all of the actors. You never know what can happen with all of their schedules. Things, you never know what can happen with strikes and, uh, pandemics. Like it just, I've learned to think anything that's more than a year out is not real in my mind. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:40 It's just like, we'll see it when we see it, maybe. Yeah, I mean, which is fair, which is fair because it's this, the only reason that I think that you would say, at least I would say, this is going to happen because if the knee really wants it to happen plus he made the other two happen plus the other two were huge successes so absolutely i think it's going to happen i'm just saying no you're right
Starting point is 00:27:01 like it's not real in my mind until you see a trailer for sure yeah i'm with you on that i think that's fair you know in that article we were talking about scheduling and the reason why isn't day it's not going to be because of spider-man and all that tom holland was mentioned in the nolan thing so i said we get to that story and i want to be a liar here's the story uh Tom Holland is joining Christopher Nolan's next film, which I'm sure Robert Danny Jr. also helped facilitate. Spider-Man actor Tom Holland will star on Christopher Nolan's newest film, joining Matt Damon in the Secret Project at Universal Pictures. Nolan wrote the script. He's directing the project will shoot early next year, ahead of a release date of July 17, 2026. Holland is expected to shoot his scenes around his work on Avengers Doomsday, which begins filming in the spring, and a forced Spider-Man, which has apparently been delayed. Story details of Nolan's film are being kept under wraps through the new report, indicating that the setting is not present day.
Starting point is 00:27:56 This will be Holland's first work with Nolan. Theories have ranged from remakes of British series of Prisoner and 1980s action film Blue Thunder to an espionage film that might be closest we'll get to Nolan doing a Bond movie. Another emerged today suggesting a potential 1920s vampire film. Nolan is producing alongside producing partner and wife Emma Thomas for their sink would be badder. I don't think I want to be. to see a vampire movie from Noel. Not that I don't think it would be great. I let Coogler have.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Cougar's gonna, I want Cougar to have it. Didn't he just do, isn't Cougar doing a 1920s vampire movie? Some, it might it's around that area. It's a period. It's a period. It's a period. It's a period. We got a name of it. The, the one that Cougar's doing. Yeah. Shoot. We saw that trailer and we saw the trailer. We were excited that it didn't look like the vampire, right? Like they couldn't tell it was a vampire movie for you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, So they'll tell they'll put it in the comments in a section. I'll tell you. I'm not allowed to fucking look at those, Christian.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Whoa, I don't know about the cursing. Um, so I will tell you. You're not curse on the show anywhere? I do. I just try to limit it. Sinners is the, um, name of the movie. And so.
Starting point is 00:29:05 The trailer was gangbusters. It was really good. It was really good. I want to see Nolan do something. We talked about it on the show with, with Roka yesterday is that I'd love to see Nolan do something like in the fantasy world. You know, like some, something like that. He's like something more like in a big kind of fairy tale thing or something like, you know, like, remember that movie legend?
Starting point is 00:29:26 Something like that. Like really Scott had that movie legend, which you never would expect in a million years. I'd love to see him do something like that. But what do you think is going to be, Roxanne? What do you want it to be? No, just when you said fantasy, I was thinking how wild would it be if no one did the entire Harry Potter series that was coming out. But he plays with time too much. For fantasy, that might work, but it would have to be something like, really playing with time. My dad called me about a year ago. I was like, I found this director. I'll never watch another movie at his again. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:29:58 who was it? He's like, I don't remember his name, but wow, he really messes with time. It's confusing. He just, not did he just watch Tenet.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Oh, that's what he watched. Oh, no. His name was good for a knowledge. Oh, wow. And that,
Starting point is 00:30:13 just because you didn't like that movie does not mean he's not for you. Did he watch? Has he seen any of his other stuff? He boycotted him. I got a call from him the next week, though, and he said, I found this director. I don't think he's reached his full potential yet, but he is really good, and I can't wait to see what happens next. And he was talking about Tarantino.
Starting point is 00:30:30 No, really? For real? He had seen one-upon-a-time in Hollywood. Was he being dead serious? He's like, I don't think he's reached his full potential yet, but there's time. And I was like, actually, just so you know, I think he's only doing one more movie and done. Yeah, right. He's been one of the biggest directors of the last.
Starting point is 00:30:48 last the 20 years. I mean, that's, but it's, that's a testament to the fact that we sit here every day in and day out over analyzing stuff and the majority of the world doesn't know about or care about what came before or what a director's working with. They just, they just go to the movies and enjoy a good movie. And my dad watches a movie a day. But still, is he, is he in the world of what? No, exactly what you're saying. Like, doesn't pay attention to who's directing it or what. Just watches the movie. My parents go to the movies like once a week. they don't pay attention that stuff.
Starting point is 00:31:18 They love it, but they don't care. That's what I mean is that. So when people that are in this space and pay attention all this, they don't understand the bubble that we live in where it's like, there's so many people who have no idea who directors are, certain actors are,
Starting point is 00:31:30 like when we were having that whole conversation when Furiosa was coming out. And I can't remember who it was, but someone was trying to tell me that Annie Teller Joy is a household name and a big star. I said she is not. No way.
Starting point is 00:31:40 They're not even close. No way. Not even close. And I think that that proved that because most people don't know most if you're in this space and you follow movies and you're big of course you know who she is but but the average person they might go oh that that girl but they don't know she's not and it's just that's so hard to be a household name I know like I always I in order for somebody to be a household name I ask my little sister and I ask my grammy and if the
Starting point is 00:32:09 two of them both know what he is I'm like that's probably a household name right is so hard at this point. Unless you've done a lot, projects that are at all of the different fields, like Anya Taylor Joy has, I'm not saying she's only done horror, but she's kind of stuck in one lane as opposed to some of the people who like are straight up pop stars
Starting point is 00:32:28 who are also in movies that are Marvel movies and indie movies. Like Zendaya's getting to the point where she's a household. And she's the biggest star of Gen Z. She's huge. And she and she's mainstream because of the mainstream movie she's done also, right? Spider-Man.
Starting point is 00:32:44 and Dune and of course. But it's not like she just did euphoria and she was household. Right. She just did challengers and was household. Look at Margo Robbie. Margo Robbie is someone also where Margo Robbie kept doing movies and they're like, oh yeah, yeah, I know her.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I know her and she's gorgeous too. And so is Indyia. But you're like, look at, look at Margo Robbie. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know more and more and more. Seeing who she is, Barbie megastar, huge. She was already a movie star at that point, but even this, you know, outside of the stratosphere at this point. But when I went to see we live in time,
Starting point is 00:33:14 I was, Grammy was like, who's in it? Because that's her first question for everything. Because if you were born in the 1920s, your first question is who's in it. And so I said it's two people. I don't know if you would know either of them. And I said, Florence Pugh, and she said, I don't know who that is. And then I said, and you're not going to know Andrew Garfield. And she said, yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:33:32 He was in the Facebook movie. Right, right. Okay, so you knew who that was. But Andrew Garfield, I think, is more of a household name because, again, because of Spider-Man. You know, and it's like, it does. those things whether you like it or not you didn't call spider man no no i know with your grandmother that's that's a different that's a different conversation but i mean but i'm saying for most people especially the spider man movies in general he's in no way home which is one of the biggest movies of all
Starting point is 00:33:57 time so you know yeah he's he's definitely uh probably the bigger name out of the two of them i think she is i think she's such a great actress though i mean she was so good in that she's gonna be nominated for that i think so too i think so too i saw amelia prez last night though you guys know that's getting like all of the Oscar buzz right now people think it might win best picture um and that Zoe Saldonna's going to win best supporting possibly um the movie is so so good but I'm really curious how audiences are going to take it do you guys know anything about this movie no i don't want to know anything no i want to get on to the point okay it just it blends a lot of genres i won't give you any specifics but it blends a lot of genres yeah and i don't know how people
Starting point is 00:34:41 people are going to like yeah yeah but critics are loving it myself included but I don't know if audiences are going to feel the same way but it was really wild I haven't seen a movie like that ever in my life all right well we have that to look forward to a lot of different movies look forward to a disaster season kind of heating up a movie that we'll be looking forward to that we've mentioned already a couple different times through the reports is avengers doomsday it's kind of start to end the whole multiverse thing well they started to they're really aiming at a spring start it's really finally moving into production we'll discuss that
Starting point is 00:35:15 then we're going to get to TV then we're going to questions because you guys are only 30 away from beating roke already or 31 before we even started now my and Mike when Mike hit 113 when we went into the question question section he was only at 19 so yeah I was low you were low wait what happened
Starting point is 00:35:30 I don't know nothing it was just me Roxy I was just a week was it Thursday? See this is the problem with Tuesday my dudes what we won the one of Tuesday once you and I didn't know. No, you didn't. No, I know for sure that I haven't because I've never won one.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Roxie's never won. That's how I know. Roxy's never won. Well, maybe you make that voice and they don't. I know you and I didn't win because I know I've never fucking won. Oh, all right, so let's get to this first. I've won on a Wednesday and I've won on a Thursday. So now I'm going to win on a Tuesday and break that.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Let's go. That's the goal. All right, here we go. Avengers Dooms Day. Filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo have revealed that filming on Avengers Doom's Day will kick off in spring 2025 ahead of a planned May 1, 2026 release. release. The Russo's confirmed the production and release windows in an
Starting point is 00:36:14 interview with Collider in New York Comic-Con, the project marking their first time returning to director of Marvel films since 2019's end game. Not a lot known about Avengers Doom's Day or its follow-up Avengers Secret Wars, which is due later in May 2020-7, but Stephen McPhiley, Michael Waldron, will co-write the films. We do know that
Starting point is 00:36:32 Robert Denning Jr. will be playing the antagonist Dr. Doom in the film, and recently, reports have suggested Doomsday will have more of a focus on him with Downey's spending several months filming scenes, whereas the various heroes will come out and go with shorter several week periods of filming each. Those heroes are expected to be a mix, including the Fantastic Forecast, Tom Holland's Spider-Man, along with plenty of returning favorites and some of the newer Phase 4 heroes who've yet to appear in an Avengers film. Marvel has multiple works to release before then, including Captain America, Brave New World, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, First Steps, Blade, nope, and likes of Daredeville Born Again, Ironheart, and Wonder Man on this.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Disney Plus service, this is before the blade thing was moved, obviously. Okay, so this is, they're moving into it, Roxy. We know that they're setting up. It looks like, and this kind of, I guess, adds into what we discussed yesterday with Captain America. Have you heard the reports of the Captain America stuff, Rox? No. So when they initially made this movie, they screened it.
Starting point is 00:37:32 They didn't like the feedback, so they essentially shot a whole new movie. Oh, yeah, I heard that. Well, but now the reports again are that the new version is also not screening well. Oh. So that's not good. That would be such a bummer. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:48 That's not good. So the question is, you know, even let's say they still, I just keep saying like Marvel has this thing. It was where Mike, Mike, Mike's point before. Marvel used to have hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit. Now it's like hit, miss, hit miss, hit, miss, hit, miss. And right now they're coming off their huge hit with Deadpool. and if they could hit with this one, then hit with Thunderbolts, then hit with Fantastic Four, then hit with the Avengers,
Starting point is 00:38:15 then people get all psyched up again, because it looks like what's going to happen, if you believe these reports, this one, then they've got to pull back up with Thunderbolts, and if Thunderbolts misses also, then Fantastic Four has all the weight on their shoulders leading into this. It seems like, like you said,
Starting point is 00:38:30 he didn't think about it, but then like, you know, weird, weird, weird, no way home. Yeah. Deadpool Wolverine. Fantastic four. Well, Guardians 3 was good, but Guardians 3 had nothing to do with the overall MCU. Right, but this, just nothing from this.
Starting point is 00:38:46 And again, I really want to love this one. It's like the fact that they're saying it's the closest to winter soldiers since they've done, which is my favorite MCU film, but just the amount of reshoots, and again, I'm a big, I know the reshoots are part of life and they are budgeted into it. But the fact that they've added, like, Jim Carlo Esposito was added after the original movie was shot. Right. You added a major villain. So that's...
Starting point is 00:39:11 I don't care how much you think you've got your movie locked when you're adding a whole new villain. Oh, dude, they made a whole new movie. They made a whole new movie. But like we talked last time, I think, where it's like, is it going to be one of those where the reshoots are so obvious because they shot it so far apart
Starting point is 00:39:26 where you're just like, oh my God, what is... What are they doing? I don't know, man. I don't know. What are you? What was the total budget of the movie? I think right now you have to look at it, like two movies, but if you want to say the grand total,
Starting point is 00:39:37 I'd say you're pushing over 420, 425 probably overall. I mean, they're not going to... Well, there's no world where they're going to make... They know they're not going to make a profit on this one. That's why I saw some of the comments say, well, why don't you just release it on streaming, take the loss? Because that's taking a major loss.
Starting point is 00:39:52 You can at least get... Even if you can get $150 million in the bank, you can make up for something. Yeah, that's... But who knows? How much the reshoots cost versus how much you're going to make up? Well, that's what I mean. I don't think they're going to make it up at all, because I think that this movie,
Starting point is 00:40:06 I think that, I don't think it's reshoots. I think they shot a new movie. So it's like they basically said, okay, we took a loss, that's a budget, that 200 million we spent, we'll use whatever we can from it. But let's put together a new budget of a new movie, again, 152, whatever it's going to be. When you find out the real number of this movie, people are going to be like, holy crap, you spend 400 plus. It's two movies.
Starting point is 00:40:25 I mean, it really is. If they legitimately aren't using a single frame from the original shoot, then they would have scrapped that for tax purposes, I think. Oh, I think they'll use some of the footage that they have. I'm sure, but I'm saying I'm a good majority of it. Of course, if you have some stuff that you can use, even if it's B-roll, you know, use stuff that you shot or certain locations, maybe things that you can do and you can be creative, maneuver, stuff around, sure. When's this free from out?
Starting point is 00:40:50 That one comes out in February. So they have, you know, an opportunity to bounce back once they, and what's, I think, telling is that they look at both of these things and they go, okay, Thunderbolts, because Thunderbolts to me could have been because it's a lesser known. you put that out in February and then you put this one out in the summer but it doesn't seem like they have that kind of confidence in it. Yeah. So, but it all leads up to the Avengers.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Now, even if Captain America doesn't do well and the rest of them do well, they still have that opportunity to say, okay, well, Thunderbolts worked really well, it was a surprise hit, then Fantastic Four worked out, and that leads us into our new Avengers movies. And it seems like they're going to try to,
Starting point is 00:41:33 everything that they're doing is relying on old faithful right downy coming back old faithful you want to say new faithful yeah old faithful um but that's but did i say old faithful or new faithful oh that's what you said i'm just laughing but it is right it's like you got down you got downy you got tom holland like and then you're kind of like really hoping that's fantastic four movie hits if you're going to be running okay so that's what i'm i'm really hoping fantastic for because like you'd said and you're not wrong but it just seems to me and again i see it you're looking at it from studio point of view well these aren't heart hitting. Bring back Hugh Jackman is Wolverine
Starting point is 00:42:08 and let's get another Deadpool movie because that's the only one that made a billion. It's just like, and that's what we're going to be force fed for the next 10 years. It's like, yeah. Yeah, man. I, fuck, I hope these.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Again, I'm a minority in these sense that I want these thunderbolts to be awesome. Yeah, me too. I want that to be like. How are you in a minority? Because it doesn't have a, it doesn't have a Wolverine. Everyone wants movies to be awesome.
Starting point is 00:42:32 No, they don't. What? Everyone, everyone that has any respect at all for me. That's what I'm saying. Respect. We're not talking the general public. Like,
Starting point is 00:42:42 these movies now are to the point people want them to fail. Like, look at Superman. Half the internet wants that movie to fail before it's even out. I think half is unfair. Oh, again, general audiences versus film.
Starting point is 00:42:54 You're talking about loud. See, but you play too much on Twitter, so you believe that everyone who's loud is a majority. He's still on Twitter like you used to be? Yes, he is. Wow. never look at you okay we'll we'll talk about this now then if it's the elf in the room you you're
Starting point is 00:43:08 100% right my friend but when disney sits there and says you know what we're going to bring in a group of focus people from the internet that are going to help us with our movies they are taking notice of it whether we want to admit it or not they do because the studios are noticed things what's elephant in the room no these some of the marketing there was that big article that came out that the studios basically want to do this whole thing where they're going to do focus groups not focus the internet people where they're going to say okay here's the movie it's what we want do let's see what they think and put it out there and i think it's it's it's kind of a slippery slope kind of dangerous and how you do it yeah yeah because it's it's terrible yeah it's not it's not a good idea um
Starting point is 00:43:44 do you think it's a good idea mike oh is it terrible i'd be sarcastic yes she's being sarcastic um all right listen we're going to hear some roxy take i said terrible i said terrible well you're not going to say terrible here go on roxy's got tv picks so we got some tv picks then we're going to get to your questions because you got 33 and if if roxy and mike can hit 30 more they're going to definitely beat roka today easy so we shall see let's get to the tv picks roxy here's the first one okay so i have been off of superman lowest for the last season and a half but it is the final season every one of you guys told me this show is awesome so i jumped back in for season four hoping that i wouldn't be confused um just because enough
Starting point is 00:44:29 ancillary CW Superman DC knowledge. And guess what? This show's awesome. You guys were right. I really, really like what they're doing this season. Of course, it is hard to jump back in
Starting point is 00:44:42 in a time where spoiler alert, Superman is dead because I want to watch a Superman show and you guys got that for the last two years and I stopped watching it. Even though I liked the show, it just kind of fell off of it because none of the other CWDC TV shows were on. so it just wasn't like a block for me anymore.
Starting point is 00:45:01 So I, but I do really like the show still. I'm looking forward to finishing the rest of the season. And I think that Tyler Hecklin is like unbelievably underrated. Anybody who watches this thinks it is amazing. But also I forget her name, Mikey, maybe you know it. The girl who plays Lois. Bitsy Tollick. Bitsy Tollick.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Man, I think she is such an A plus Lois, who's a character that, as Mike knows, I have like really struggled with forever. Lois is not my favorite of the character. She does a great job. She really does an excellent job. Very strong performer. And I like the kids too. So this show's doing well for me.
Starting point is 00:45:37 I might be making this up, but I feel like she was on Katie's podcast. I feel like that's true, but I don't know. I don't know. I might have made that up. The people will tell you. I might have made that up. All right.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Next, here we are. Shringing season two came back. Christian, you watched first two episodes? First. I watched the first. Oh, this show's so good. It's really good. It's so good. Like, man, I just think that this, like, Bill Lawrence doesn't seem to miss.
Starting point is 00:46:12 And this is just another absolute hit. I was excited that the second that Bad Monkey ended, which is his most recent show, shrinking picked back up. So, like, he's always on the screen or his work is always there. I love this. I think that it's starting really strong. I don't, I'm curious Christian, and you've only seen one episode, but where they're going with the main romance? Like, if the show thinks yes or no, but time will tell.
Starting point is 00:46:38 You're talking about Jason Siegel? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hope it's no. It feels like the show hopes it's no, too. My problem is when I start to see people really catch feelings for each other. Yeah. I'm a lover of love shipper ships, but it's so complicated.
Starting point is 00:46:56 But are they really dating in real life? No. Oh, okay. I don't think so. Why? Are they? No, I miss read what you said. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:47:05 All right. Next one. Man, this week's Abbott Elementary episode was so funny. I was laughing out loud by myself. Like, did an episode on Ringworm? It was so silly. Like, this show is great. And I don't bring it up on the show all the time because I've already told you guys how I feel
Starting point is 00:47:26 about it. elementary, but this was just sometimes there will be episodes of sitcoms that like, if you are in a bad mood, put this on. I was like just cackling in my room. So good. Okay. Next one. And it is.
Starting point is 00:47:41 This is going to be on my list probably every week until it's off air. Just the dynamics on the show are incredible. I really enjoyed watching the follow up to Sophia. need not call her foul cone anymore. It was just a really great follow-up to last week. Last week's episode to me was mind-blowingly good, and this one was a good follow-up to that, even though it wasn't quite as powerful for me.
Starting point is 00:48:08 And I like seeing the makings of where Penguin is going. Yeah, just really cool. Great show. Really good show. Okay, and then last one. I haven't brought up Tulsa King in a couple of weeks, and I thought I would because now I am back to being caught up. I know that some people aren't liking this season as much because they find it to be a little goofy, or at least that's what the internet tells me.
Starting point is 00:48:30 But I think that this is just, as Christian, you've pointed out many times, I don't know, I have like a hard on for sly. He's so everything to me. And like watching this show, I'm like, you're the man. He's just the man. He's like always in forever. So it's still really working for me, even though I know that some people have lost it. All right. So those are the picks.
Starting point is 00:48:53 Make sure that you check them out. Each and every, Roxy watches everything on television and lets us know what we should be checking out or sometimes what we shouldn't be checking out. So make sure you go and check out some of those shows and report back on what you liked and what you didn't. All right, we have your questions.
Starting point is 00:49:08 35 questions thus far. And we're going to get to them. And before we even do that, I've told you many times over. I've got to tell you again, I got to tell you about Rocket Money. I use Rocket Money all of the time. I absolutely love them.
Starting point is 00:49:22 They take subscriptions that you forgot about. You paid twice for it. You didn't realize it. And they tell you, hey, it's time to cancel it. And they've done that for me many times over. They help me out so much. Tell me, hey, you spent this, you spent that. And they also let you know if you sent in a payment to somebody.
Starting point is 00:49:39 Hey, is that you? Did you do that? Yes, I did. Thank you so much. And we need to manage our finances. And it's hard and it's complicated. It's time consuming. It doesn't have to be.

Starting point is 00:50:51 Yeah. Mike is the reigning champ this week. So can he beat Roe? again be roka let's see um brook it roka i got flashbacks there harlough of schmode i know like mike are you ready are you ready here we go christian why don't i see the thing behind us like usual what thing the floating things what thing i don't know what do you talking what floating gold things that usually flow behind us what oh you know what it's a great thank you for reminding me because i think that i put them thank you for reminding me um I will, you know what I can do is I'll, hopefully, hopefully they'll, they should, should appear.
Starting point is 00:51:30 Maybe. They might, they might appear. I didn't know if they were on the screen. No, no, no, no. No, they, they weren't. And you, um, I like those things. I mean, I do too. I completely forgot, I completely forgot about it. So I don't have it at the moment. Um, I'll fix it. Yeah, I'll fix it. Um, okay, thank you for reminding me. I like them to. EWalk, will you do a watch along of Squid Game before season two of I've always wanted to of season one? And it's something I probably try to do. You know what's so funny is Roxy, you know about anybody now with doing the reactions and everything.
Starting point is 00:52:05 Because I'm always going to add comedy into the reaction. People got pissed. I don't give a shit. I don't care. Don't watch it. People got pissed. We were watching Alien Romulus. Like, why do you do with cracking jokes and dictates is serious?
Starting point is 00:52:18 It's like, get lost. Go watch somebody else's thing. know what do you know what my absolute most hated reaction was that like literally almost destroyed the channel i had to like really go on a bit of apology tour what um my reaction to glory which i had never seen glory you did like comedy to glory well i just it was it struck me it's funny there was things that struck me as like a little dated silly the way they were doing it. Okay. Roxy. Come on now.
Starting point is 00:52:54 Yeah, but I mean like it's like, come on now. There's a couple of jokes as long as you're getting it. For me, I was looking at it. And not the whole thing. I loved the movie. I thought the movie was amazing. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:53:02 That's all in Mystery Science 300 with the glory there. But that's, but I guess that that's the whole point. Like your question is why you want. You're just watching it for people go, huh, oh. That's not my channel. Right.
Starting point is 00:53:13 I watched it the way I would watch with my buddies, which is like, you know, When somebody comes out with a big feather, I'm like, and you can still appreciate it. And you can still appreciate it. There's a scene in Alien Romulus where there's this stuff like dripping down. And it's like about to fall. And there's people maneuvering around it.
Starting point is 00:53:29 And I'm watching, I go, it looks like a janitor on a porn set. Right. And like, we started to tell a joke. Let it be funny, Harlow. That's not funny.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Hmm. Did you mute me? No. Oh, he muted himself. Good. He should be gone. I'm gone. He's up.
Starting point is 00:53:48 show looking what do you do look at him see a little bit of power and that's what he thinks a little bit no one likes you nice camera you're mouth nice camera shut your mouth nice camera your mouth nice camera we rocks i want to go back to the fact that you when a person comes out with a feather on you're like top of the morning to you i just like i don't know so it was just like kind of funny like the way that uh what's the name of that star he's a massive star in glory he's denzil washington matthew broadwick thank you when he comes out and And he's like, what did you say Christian? Denzel Washington.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Oh. Yeah. No, Matthew Roder going to like when we first see him, he just looks so goofy to me. He looks like the mustache and the hat. But yeah, and then I got into it. But I was like, right. Talking about it. And people like literally were like, you should actually go off yourself for this.
Starting point is 00:54:40 This is like, this is real life. This is the real war. And I was like, well, this is a movie. It's a movie. This is why life is like episodes assigned. Because back in that episode where they someone's like laughing during Schindler's list when they watch it in the show Like how dare you laugh during Schindler's list I get I mean that's like you know there's I think there's certain times that but if there's it's if there's something that's long as you're getting the movie It's like that that that I'm not sorry not changing that because it's like if there's something where it's a bit of a pearl clutching going out with people
Starting point is 00:55:08 Yeah, and like they're gonna be pissed off as a wild robot. I I I cracked a few of them too and I'm not I'm not going to just go there and go Huh? What? Huh? Hey? Huh? That's not what I'm going to do. So, eat it. Roman Fedorek.
Starting point is 00:55:23 What's a movie you regretted watching with your parents? My mom took me to see Wolf of Wall Street when I was 16. She did not know what it was about. And let's just say she was not happy afterwards. I'm trying to think of one that my parents. I like, when I was younger, my parents, like, I remember like going to see back to school with Ronnie Dangerfield with my parents. Yeah, I was a kid.
Starting point is 00:55:43 It's harder for us because we're the 80s. It's like everything. it didn't really matter. Yeah, it's true. I mean, I think my grandfather took me to see Rambo 2. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:52 There was no, it didn't matter. Yeah. Well, to me it didn't bother me, Roxy, but my mother, yes.
Starting point is 00:55:57 My mother took me to see Beverly Hills cop. And to her, she was probably like, oh, God. But I think a lot of it also comes down to like how your parents are. Like, yes,
Starting point is 00:56:07 she blocked it out. Totally. My parents are real kind of like with language and sex and by the real laid back. See, my dad is. My mom not. so much. That's why it was so funny that we mistakenly
Starting point is 00:56:19 wound up watching Beverly Hills cop, which is hilarious. Kenneth Colton, the gap between filming Dune Part 2 and the Batman 2 has a huge silver lining, which is that Greg Frazier most likely returning a cinematographer for both. Yeah, that's what they had mentioned in that report. I read that this morning, yeah. It was in that report.
Starting point is 00:56:36 It's good. Which is great, because he's fantastic and... We should come back for both. For both? 100%. Uh, Pete Parker, 2288. Can Michael Kane and Big Balls both try to to ask Roxy on a date who would she rather go out with. I think I know the answer. Yeah, 100%. Go ahead. Michael Caine's here to ask you out. Because they wanted though if Michael Cade could ask Roxy out on a date because I would take her to a little cafe and she looks like to quite a good
Starting point is 00:57:01 at likes a croissant. And I'll have her with the chocolate dip croissons and a cup of tea because no one makes a proper cup of British tea, a real grey like Michael Cey. We would go to Hooters We'd go to Hooters We'd run around eating wings I'd eat all the wings And then I said look at my wings And then I'd put on some pajama pants
Starting point is 00:57:22 Right Roxy? Come on Roxy Don't ignore me Just because Michael King The movie stars here He'd be dead soon Hey, don't say that I would just say that big balls
Starting point is 00:57:33 Is the kind of guy That would make sure That he took care of himself It wouldn't pleasure the woman Oh I'm taking care of myself right now Dark Night women come first one time i auditioned for the real world at hooters no shit of course you did a real story of course you did i tell you 18 as 18 new old for love is blind yet rocks no no
Starting point is 00:57:56 that show too um no i was 18 i just moved out to l a and there was a real world audition at hooters and baker's field i didn't even have a car yet my grandparents drove me to baker's field hooters and when i think when i think michael get this but But when I think of Bakersfield, I always think of the butcher of Bakersfield. You know a movie that's from? You know a movie that's from, right? Yeah. Wait.
Starting point is 00:58:20 No, God. Yes. Yes. What? Running man. Yes. I still got it. I still got it.
Starting point is 00:58:25 All right. There is. Ben Richards. Go by. The butcher of Bakersfield. Go by Sam Ghan. I'm really wondering how the changes from the first book are going to manifest in the Dune Messiah movies, particularly the Paul Chinese relationship.
Starting point is 00:58:39 This is another one I want to go into completely blind. I want to know anything about Messiah at all. I'm sure people will be spoiling stuff here and there, but I don't want to see it. I want to just watch it all unfold. I don't know the books, but isn't Paul turn out to be a real a hole? Like I said, I don't want to know anything about it. I mean, we see that in the second one.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Yeah, I mean, by the end of the second one. I heard he's like the bad guy by the third one. Maybe we'll see. Thanks for not spoiling anything that I just said. Shut your mouth. Cooley, hi. What's up, fam? Cooley.
Starting point is 00:59:08 What's your got fried chicken spots to go to go, to go. eat. I love me some Popeyes and raising Keynes for show any way much love to all of you and be easy. I got to find, I went with stuff for an episode of World Girls to this fried chicken spot that's supposed to be the best in L.A. and it was so fucking good. I can't even what the hell. Coley, I'll tell you this.
Starting point is 00:59:27 I just had Keynes the other night. It 1 o'clock at 2.30 and it was like 2.30 in the morning after a shows. That shit hits the spot. I'm not a fried chicken guy like on the bone, but fried chicken tenders. Yeah. Yeah. Same. You know what I've had recently? I'd say recently, but it's probably within the past five, six months that I've never had before. It was really good as chicken and waffles.
Starting point is 00:59:47 Yeah. You know, I never got to. It's an interesting. You got to be in the mood. Yeah, I never did it. It's a combination that's a heavy meal. But this thing, it was really good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Nick Vaughn. Whenever I find it, I'm going to let you guys know. So you went there, rocks with the world girls? Yeah, I went to, yes, for the world world, we went to this chicken place because staff that, like, I've been looking at researching the best one in L.A. And it's somewhere on our YouTube or somebody in the chat. we'll probably know because I watched it. It was so, like, delicious that I forgot how much I love.
Starting point is 01:00:18 Text her to see what she says. Nick Vaughn, no shock with Blade. Guarantee we won't see him until after Secret Wars and the Multiverse stuff is done, and it won't be with all. I agree with all of that, 100%. I think they'll do it eventually. They'll just do it smaller and they'll do it after the multiverse is over. Mad Sinister Macal, when I become president,
Starting point is 01:00:36 I will have Harlov and Roka run Disney. Delete everyone's Twitter and TikTok and put Jeff Snyder's face. on the $1. Bill called 2034. That's an interesting world that you live in with that. Jeff Snyder. The next question
Starting point is 01:00:51 comes to us from Ewok. Who should play the adults in the HBO's Potter series? That's always hard. I mean, I'm always, look, they're in a spot because it's such a well-known property.
Starting point is 01:01:07 You don't need anybody to, you know, one big actor here and there, but you don't really need huge actors. I think, you know, we talked about this a little bit, like the books, the movies I felt were done so well, but I don't know the books and everyone was like, the books are so much more. Like, that to me is one aspect of the books that didn't get a lot
Starting point is 01:01:27 or the movies was the parents. Yeah, yeah, that's true, right. Focus, maybe they'll be focus on the parents in that relationship. I'll never forget. Again, this shows how naive I am when I was watching the Potter films for the Shmodon, because I was my first time watching them. I tweeted out to someone or to people. I was like, wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:01:45 Is Snape Perry's dad? Right. Because the way the story develops the love of the mother. And I was just like, oh, my God, this is awesome. But everyone's like, no, we get what you would think that. But you don't read the book, so you would know. But I was like, oh, if they focus on the parents, that might invest me in it. Because right now I'm kind of like, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:02:02 But if they can't bring the parents more? I think they're going to do a lot more of that stuff. Why not? Would you guys want to see any of the, by the way, it was called Lake Koo? Oh, Lake Koo. Is there any, it's on the east side, are there any of the original actors that you would want to see come back and play the adults?
Starting point is 01:02:18 Nah, nah. No, you've got to start over completely. You're going to distance yourself and make it new, you've got to be all new. Yeah, keep him separate. Okay. Pete Parker, 2288, either do an old man blade story with Snipes or just wait about 10 years to reboot it.
Starting point is 01:02:33 Guarantee another Snipes blade would do well with lower budget. I don't disagree with that. I don't necessarily know if I want to see it, but I don't disagree that it'll make money, especially right now, if they could capitalize in the way that Sony should have on Garfield and McGuire, and they can do an old man Blade story? Yeah. I'm of a different mind.
Starting point is 01:02:53 I want them to do the Blade film to be that like, we're all at night, like a special presentation, two-hour Disney Plus, and then eventually you bring him with those guys into like a Midnight Sun's movie. I don't see Blade highlighting a big two-hour movie. movie. You'd have to do, I think a smaller budget one would do well. You can't put too much money into it.
Starting point is 01:03:15 You say Snape and snipe the same. Oh, okay. Snape and snipe. Yeah. Got or snipe. Snipe. Derek Johnson, I'm so glad about this Blade News. I always felt he was too old for the role. Honestly, he's an actor
Starting point is 01:03:31 that if he takes a role in the MCU, it should be as a major player. Yeah, I mean, I want to see him take a major player role for sure, but I think that... Do you not think of Blade as a major player? I think it could be, but he's not right now. Not at all. No, but he could be. But he's not, I think, the overall,
Starting point is 01:03:46 that's why I think a smaller kind of contained movie would be really great for Blade. Mike Joyce says, Rachel Ziegler versus Swifties, foot and mouth disease. What's, I don't know. What happened? I don't know what happened with the Swifties, but I know, I mean, I know with the Rachel Ziegler stuff, but what happened with the Swifties?
Starting point is 01:04:01 I'm not sure. Well, this seems like there's a correlation. It must have been something. I don't know. I don't understand what happened there. I mean, but I know that I thought he was going to say Rachel Zegler and then the Cynthia Rivo. What happened with the Swifties? Did they say something that?
Starting point is 01:04:18 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not sure. Rachel Ziegler doesn't bother me. I think she's really talented. Everybody's super pissed. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:26 It's like, think about the things that young actors were doing a while ago. Yeah, it doesn't bother me. She doesn't bother me. But I think the thing she said about the, it's the same thing that I think, the thing she said about the movie and the PR stuff with actors the actors the actors do this stuff all the time they get on they say things and they don't they're not prepped the PR you said it all the time roxy when we're talking about about Kathleen Kennedy was like who's the PR person have a plan have somebody and they don't have in this plan they just say oh i can just say whatever I want the internet is
Starting point is 01:04:57 ruthless and everything that you say will be used against you and it will also be used against you in box office and it will hurt you and I think the stuff with Cynthia reeva was just so silly on her part. So yeah, this is this is another reason. Yeah. Matt Sinister McCall. Derek Johnson has to work for Blumhouse. He might. He might. Mike Joyce. I saw a super slash man and I was blown away by it. I thought people were overhyping how good it was, but it was a pleasant surprise. Definitely a tearjerker. I have it sitting in my queue at home. I was going to talk to it's awesome. It's really good, huh? Yeah. Didn't you go in theaters? I did. That's so cool. You sobbing. What's up? You were sobbing? What's up? You were
Starting point is 01:05:38 sobbing like everybody else like ugly crime so everybody says um that's sinister mccall blade will come out when i'm in the nursing home yeah i think you're probably right uh he's also 22 years old luke s what's coming out first blade or winds of winter what the hell's winds of winter is that a dragon maybe it's a made up movie that he's asking who's what's going to come out probably winter i think will probably come out first wind of winter so true um nick vaughn i do believe they want blade MCU, but I just couldn't fit him in the midst of them trying to wrap up the multiverse saga. Yeah, I think this might be a good thing. Have him come out.
Starting point is 01:06:15 Have them come out after this whole multiverse thing is done. Yeah. Okay. Dancing Dogs 60. All of this filming schedule, all of this filming schedule, Twister wouldn't happen if Hollywood didn't use the same 10 actors for every big film. Find some new talent out there. It's not that easy.
Starting point is 01:06:37 People don't understand that. People can say that, but it's not that easy to say, you know what? Find someone who's really good and make them a star. You can't get movies made with people like that. The way that movies get made happens all the time, even when I was there at Warner Brothers. You got people attached to people like, oh, okay, you got Margot Robbie on it, I'll make your movie. You got so-and-so involved, I'll make your movie. We got Glenn Powell. He's hot. You got Glenn Powell attached. He wants to do it. I'll make your movie. But it's like, well, we have this kid. He's really, really good. He's got a shot. yeah but we don't he hasn't proven himself we're not spending that much money on it unless you put
Starting point is 01:07:11 another actor in there another start it's how it works it sucks but it's how it works you guys have competing ideas no i'm on board with you on that one see it makes sense it's unfortunate in a lot of ways but it is just really difficult because the the truth is like 99% of people out here who have been pursuing this are really talented yeah so it's like that's not really the the qualifier. You guys are around 20 away from Beat and Roke. Dancing Dog 60. We did that already.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Next one. Got a bunch of new members on the channel, too. That's really great. Andy Haynes. Greetings from the UK. Aaron Pierre for Blade. I guess going back to what we just said. Look, maybe eventually.
Starting point is 01:08:00 Maybe eventually, but I think he's going to be pretty wrapped up in D.C. He's going to be wrapped up in D.C. for a while now, because I think that the whole plan is for John Stewart to be like the guy. So I think he's going to be wrapped up in D.C. for at least another five to ten years. Aaron Ambrose, a bit of a week episode of Superman Lois this week. I could see the budget cuts taking effect. I hate that there's only six episodes left. I really wanted more.
Starting point is 01:08:25 Roxy, do you think it would be worth it? It was suggested to me to, because I've never seen an episode. It was suggested to me to watch one episode and do a reaction to them and see if the audience cared. you think that it's worth it what episode well it's watching with episode one and seeing you start with the pilot and seeing if people wanted me to do it and if they watched it and because it's one of those ones that if i if i do the first one and like you know five thousand people watch it i'm like i'm not going to i kind of think you're a little too late to go back maybe like if you could catch up but you're not going to catch up that quickly
Starting point is 01:08:58 yeah i have to i have to double check me you know what i'll do maybe i'll do like one test one and if it does yeah i just don't know if it has the audience that it yeah i did that for one piece i was like i don't know was that care about me watching one piece and people were watching it with me and i had fun doing it so maybe i don't know lee because this ending yeah i know lee crow yo christian and crew my buddy rolled our golf cart the other day onto my leg oh sorry man so i'm home injured and i'm able to super chat thanks man uh what are some of your favorite golf movies oh uh tin cup and happy gilmore oh i was going to say that tin cup and happy Gilmore yeah tin cup rocks got one it's definitely happy Gilmore I can't think of another golf
Starting point is 01:09:35 movie I like have you ever seen tin cup no I didn't ever that's uh Kevin Costner Costner renews or Neer Russo it's right and it's a what name two other golf movies um what's a bagger vance oh is another one uh caddy shack and that's probably oh and I'm so mad of myself that I didn't say that first yeah caddy shack is my favorite golf um so mad of myself that I didn't say that. How could it be your favorite if you didn't even think of it? Because I'm an idiot. Steve Frederick, if you could give up a talent you have in exchange for another talent, what would it be? I would give up cracking jokes for being able to, being able to say the right thing whenever I wanted to say. Right, Rox? And I don't think you would. Yeah, what would you want? What would you want?
Starting point is 01:10:26 Well, I'm trying to think of a talent that I'd be willing to ditch. Go to Mikey. That's a good question. Talent, I'd be willing to ditch. Shit. You got to find a talent, I guess. Exactly, right. And, like, the things that I'm thinking of giving it up for, like, so much better.
Starting point is 01:10:48 You know, like, I would give up being able to bake because I'm a pretty good baker. Hell yeah. For, like, having the voice of an angel. Oh. Okay. I can multitask incredibly well. I give that up to be able to play the piano incredibly well. That's a good one.
Starting point is 01:11:04 I like that one. It's something I took piano as a kid and I hated it and he wish you would have stuck with it right and now here I am Middle-aged and I was like why if I why not just whenever I see someone like you see those videos like here's some random guy at the airport Yeah, but it's never it's never real no I hate those I hate those are not real no the ones the ones where the guys doing it and then someone's like hey can I play along with you it's like come on and they're miced and it's just worse the worst uh Jedi Master for life giving support for mics can do attitude for that win in. That's right. Mike won last week. Hell yeah. I have 47 that's far.
Starting point is 01:11:42 Space Jesus. Would you compare the state of the MCU and DCU being like WWF and ECW respectively? Like how ECW beat the WWF in ratings for so long. I can see DCU doing that. Well, the difference is this. The ECW didn't have a fraction of the WDF budget. DCU's got a pretty good budget. I would say more so of WCW.
Starting point is 01:12:05 and WWF, and that's ultimately what it is right now. They've got to come in and they have an opportunity because if Superman, I love James Gunn's plan right now. I love his plan. I love the Superman plan. I mean, I guess it starts with Creature Commandos, but Superman leading into, I think, lanterns leading into, I think Supergirl, into, there was the other one.
Starting point is 01:12:28 What's the authority is the other stuff? And then the Batman and something, I love the idea. I love that. Like, it seems like there's a plan. I hope. I will tell you, I think that it's time for a regime change. I would love to see, or I should say a new champion, rather. I would love to see D.C. take over and be what everybody's rushing out to see.
Starting point is 01:12:49 I think they have richer character. I think they have, I think, in general. But I don't know if it's going to happen. Mike, I know you are waiting for this to happen. Yeah, man. It's like, like, I don't know we talked about it's before, but it's an old analogy that I have. I've used it many times. It's a big sports analogy,
Starting point is 01:13:05 whereas like DC, Marvel, Star Wars, they're your teams. And no matter what happens, you stand by your team. Because your team goes through bad years. They get crappy coaches. They get crappy players. They never make it through the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:13:20 And then some years they win it all. But you've got to stick through it. So I've been with them the whole time. And it's just nice to see they got all. It looks like they got star players, star coach, star owner. And they're making the play for, they're making a Super Bowl run.
Starting point is 01:13:34 Yeah. And it's nice to be there. Rocks. I'm with Mikey on that completely. Are you guys going to watch Creature Commandos? Yeah, of course. I'll check it out. I will say this.
Starting point is 01:13:44 I just watched the most recent trailer. And it does feel very suicide squad. Yeah. It's like, hey, we're doing this mission. We can't use humans, we're just using non-humans. Right. I haven't watched the trailer yet. I don't want to know.
Starting point is 01:13:56 It's another one. But like, I like everyone involved. And it's, and yeah, I'm on board. All right. Hunter Vance. Roxy, did you ever see poker face? I just binged it recently, and that show is such a banger. The guest stars alone were crazy good.
Starting point is 01:14:11 The marketing for it must have been awful, though. No one I know has ever even heard of it. Is that the Ryan Johnson one? This is the Natasha Leon show. Yeah, but didn't he produce it? Maybe. I loved the show, and everyone I knew was watching it. So I don't think the marketing was terrible.
Starting point is 01:14:29 It was everywhere in L.A. and this is like one of the only successful shows that peacock has had so far so maybe we're we're just running in different circles yours is probably more accurate to the world because mine's Hollywood yeah maybe not mainstream maybe it's not as mainstream yeah yeah it was excellent really fun um it it was easy to watch because you could watch any episode yeah uh Zach mine talks movies what software do you use to record the show I just use OBS use OBS and have uh pumping all the stuff there and then we stream through uh stream yard uh Jedi master for life if mike's reaction isn't worth a super chat glory question mark exclamation point
Starting point is 01:15:11 so um next one is Shay Markell I love the authenticity of this show thanks guys well thank you that's a nice comment that's one of my favorite compliment I love that and then imagine or just fake as shit I know it's true the Roxy's exactly is English a Silva $188 sending for Mike and Roxy getting to 51. 12 away. 12 away, no, 10 away. He had 60. What did he have?
Starting point is 01:15:38 61. I'm going to double check. I don't know, but I feel like we should be able to get at least one every 45 seconds. We'll see. Rogu Chrome X. Love the streams. Have you seen the new Amazon movie Brothers with Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin? I really enjoyed it.
Starting point is 01:15:53 No. So much stuff out there with so many quality people that I've never even heard of. Yeah, I've never heard of that. Different world. I heard of it. Yeah. I've not seen it yet. No.
Starting point is 01:16:03 Comic things. Are you concerned with the state of Star Wars? Yes, very much so. I think that is very much. 100%. Yes, very similar to what Mike was talking about before. No, it's funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:12 If I can indulge in that in a second. It seems like DC's done its thing and they're going. Marvel is in the process of like, all right, we got to pump the brakes and let's realign. We're going through some rough stuff, Cap. Got to get it out. Star Wars doesn't seem to be doing that. No. They're like full steam ahead.
Starting point is 01:16:30 It's everybody. It's everybody else's fault. Who cares? What we're doing is great. It's everybody else's fault. Yeah, like Star Wars, there. It's a, I think. Disaster.
Starting point is 01:16:40 There isn't. No. But look, but look, but here's the thing, right? And this is the whole point of what we've been talking about. D.C. The whole reason they're in a good, they're in good shape right now is very similar what you're talking about with sports, Mike. They had a, they had a coaching staff.
Starting point is 01:16:54 They had a manager that they really liked. He made a couple plays. There were some that were pretty good. most part didn't take the championship. They went in a different direction. They brought in new managers who've got a new lineup, has something new, hoping to win some championships. Marvel has the same manager, but just made some different changes on his players
Starting point is 01:17:13 and a couple different things and saw what they were doing. So wait a minute, let's try to win in championships. This management team is making the same plays over and over and over again, putting somebody in the fourth spot that keeps striking out over and, they'll hit a home run eventually. No, they won't. They'll bet on 30. He'll hit it eventually.
Starting point is 01:17:29 No, they won't. So yes, we're concerned with the state of the story. You're not talking about based on financially. You're talking about based on the product. Yeah, everything. I mean, financially, I mean, you can, I guess you can say, well, the last movie they did made a billion dollars. Yeah, the last movie they made was in 2019. Years ago.
Starting point is 01:17:44 Yeah, I'm just saying, like, you can't say that the same plays like. No, but you can, but you can also call quality on those plays too, right? And you can also say. If you want you. You can. And the other thing. I would say that won the Super Bowl. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:56 And they won championships as far. financially goes, sure, but then you say, well, how did you follow it up? Okay, well, all of our players got hurt. Well, we brought in somebody else, a new player, Patty Jenkins. Yeah, but we didn't like the play that they're calling me, got rid of her. All right, well, what about Benny Off and Weiss? Yeah, we like them. We're going to have them call the shots. Oh, they're gone too. So, like, it's just, that kind of stuff happened way too much. It's a disaster. It's an absolute disaster over there. Um, Mumrah. What's your, your review of Cobre Kai season six part one and the new? What's the new? What's a
Starting point is 01:18:29 the KKL poster. Oh, karate kid Legends poster. So I love the poster. Really enjoyed the first half of Cobra Kai part one. I did watch it, Roxy. I know you watch it. You're waiting for me to see it also. I did see it. Really liked it a lot. Yeah, I love the show. When is part two coming out? November.
Starting point is 01:18:47 Yeah, this year. Yeah, this year. And then, and then I think it closes out the entire series in February or March. It's three parts for the trial. Three parts. Yeah, I think a total, like, I don't remember how many. But yeah. Okay, next one.
Starting point is 01:19:04 This is Chey Markell. I vote Derek Johnson as my top blade casting. I think he'll do it. I think he'll do it. Okay, 51. You guys are actually 10 away from tying Roca. So, Trickster. You keep moving the goalpost.
Starting point is 01:19:19 No, it was 61. I was, I double checked. It was 61. Trickster. Worst movie date you've ever had and what movie? Roxy, you're going to have to answer this. let's have your roxies there's no there's no story
Starting point is 01:19:31 that mike and I can tell movie theater wise it's going to be worse than roxies no I really don't the the date that I went on to movie theater went absolutely fine this is the one that the guy that farted on me you know the story that's who it is um
Starting point is 01:19:47 so I went on two dates with the guy the first one I was like 22 years old we went to the Lachma and then after that the second date I didn't like him that much after the first date, but my friends were like, he seemed nice, go out with him again. We go on the second date. We go to the movies,
Starting point is 01:20:04 which I think it's not just for y'all at home. I don't think a movie is a good second date. I don't think you should go to the movies for the first five dates. You're getting to know somebody. You're not even talking to him. Unless you go to dinner first, like it's a long dinner and then. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:17 So I would, yeah, put it in a plan or whatever. But anyway, at the end of the date, I went home and decided like, just not for me. He asked me on a third date, get a text. I responded and said, thank you. And he didn't, just so you guys know, because it's become relevant afterwards,
Starting point is 01:20:37 I paid for my own movie ticket because I was like, I'm not sure that I'm into this person. So when I got home- Did you say that to him when you were paying for it? No, no. We were on a date. And I was still trying to figure it out, but I didn't want him to pay for something for me when I didn't even know if it's, like, how I was feeling about it.
Starting point is 01:20:54 So when we got home, he texts me asking me on the third date. And I had said, I think that you're absolutely lovely, but I'm not interested on going at their date. I would love to be friends. He didn't respond. And then a month later, I was out at a bar with another guy on a date. And I see this guy from across the room. What are the odds of that happening?
Starting point is 01:21:16 It's so weird. It was like a month, maybe a couple months later. And he sees me, beelines towards me. Oh, no. Turns around, farts on me, says, eat my odds. my shit and walks away. Oh. If Mike, if my God, if you were there, you probably, Mike would have punched him. What is wrong with people in this world? We're a grown man. How old 20s probably? Yeah, he was in his 20s. So I don't know about grown man. All right. So that's
Starting point is 01:21:45 still your fucking child, but like, yeah. What the fuck is I know it was wild. I mean, it's really one of my shit. I told that story on TikTok and it got like millions of views and what did what do what do people say though. Do is it loud I deserved it you should kill yourself. Oh, was it loud. I mean, the person that I was see on the date with was then was like what'd you do to him so well okay so I was like I'm being the guy that you're on the date with and I'm like this girl just got fucking shit on yeah. Oh no how can I kiss her tonight? What happened with that, Rocks? Well, I think she wins.
Starting point is 01:22:26 That was one and only. Yeah, I think that's the best one. Because the guy, it wasn't his fault. All right. He was like in a car accident and just in a blind danger. He doesn't know me, so he thinks that I'm an asshole probably. Like, what would think for a guy? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:41 It's pretty bad. All right. FX Star Lord. They should give Blade the six episode transition to the MCU, but with a deer double twist. He'd maybe make it a series. Not a bad idea. 100%. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:52 Not a bad idea. Yeah, Roman Fedorak. Hey, I think you missed some of my questions I put in before the show started. No, I did. Wait, hold on. Let me double check. Of course, of course you missed them. No, there's big, there are some up top. Thank God, I saw it. Wait, Danny Phillips says, what is Big Ball's favorite Lou Rawls song? I don't know. Roxie's size when she sees him. I caused you to miss that one. I hit it. The Lou Rawls one. Yeah. The question in general. I can ask, I can ask Big Balls if you want. Roxie, you want to ask? No. Are you sure? You don't miss it. Yes, and. I miss you.
Starting point is 01:23:26 I miss you, Roxy. Here's the one, because this is for you, Roxy. My favorite Lou Rawl song is Lady Love. Yeah, baby. Thank you. Big balls. Appreciate that. I'm glad that he told me that because I wouldn't have seen you.
Starting point is 01:23:41 Jeff Converse. Hey, Christian, I've been following you since the beginning of the AMC Schmo's days. I love what you do and have done with the show. Thank you so much. Boston over everyone, Roxy. Well, I don't know. I don't think you guys. can say that right now. Austin over everyone. I don't think you can say that. I don't know what you're
Starting point is 01:23:57 doing the world series. We can't hear you. Are you going to the world series? Boston over everyone. Are you going to the world series? No, you're not. Okay. How about this one? Jeff Converse. Also, have you seen the new Max movie Caddo Lake? Now, that's the one with Dylan O'Brien. People can tell me about it. I have not seen. I've never heard of that. I love Dylan. Yeah. Ian Davis. Who is the greatest action star of all time between these choices? Arnold, Stallone, the Rock, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Jackie Chan,
Starting point is 01:24:26 Tom Cruise, Jason Statham. Do you put all those guys as action stars? It's tough. But you put him as an action star? That's the thing. I was going to go Cruz,
Starting point is 01:24:38 but he's such a more diverse actor. I wouldn't put him as an action star. I put him in. He's on the list. In this list, if this is... If you just asked me, who's the best action star,
Starting point is 01:24:48 that's not who I would put, he's on the list. Okay, so out of this, list who do you think even though i don't really quantify all these guys as action stars at your list i would probably take harrison ford first and then i would take tom cruise because yeah because you indiana jones uh you know i don't see him as an action star but i but out of those and and because you you're now if you're looking at pure action stars though Arnold even i love Stallone but even Arnold over stillone yeah going off that list i'm going tom cruise but
Starting point is 01:25:21 but I think he's more than an action star, so I go Schwarzenegger. Yeah. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Mike. Do you know that it was one time in Roxy,
Starting point is 01:25:31 she was dear, and the guy he had maybe too much broad worst or whatnot, and came over and said, stop that. You don't do that to her lady. She just said, and she didn't like to go out with you, and you fought on her. It's not nice.
Starting point is 01:25:42 It's not fantastic. Thank you. And then Roman Fedorek. Hey, all. I hope everyone is doing well in this beautiful day. Hey, Roxy, I loved your reaction. to terrify are one and two with Greg it's not an easy feat man brutal huh i heard you say christian you're never going to watch those movies when you're on um diary of a real reject it is so hard to
Starting point is 01:26:06 watch i'm sure i mean like rocks because i don't watch them it's not my cup of tea is it just that it's gory horror yes like like but it's not body gore like some horror i mean like in the first movie Mike there's a scene where a woman is hung upside down and then from her vagina to her head sliced in half and you see it and you see it yeah right it's like i don't want to see that like and they don't cut away you see the slicing through her because she's hanging upside down through her just hearing you say it someone had we were talking i'm not going to give you guys spoilers because you haven't seen it but substance yeah and now this terrifiers like someone made a good point i didn't think about it now but like you've got to be kind of fucked up in the head to think up something like that and then to sit there on the day and film it.
Starting point is 01:26:57 Like, and if you're the makeup guy making a woman's vagina, you're going to fucking split in half. Like, you're kind of fucked up. Yeah. No, thanks. Yeah, well, I'm not disagreeing with you. And I think Damien would probably be the first to say, yeah, like, that's a little twisted. However, the reason that I actually am really loving the franchise is that the first movie looks incredible. like it's unbelievable to watch and it's $35,000 budget.
Starting point is 01:27:23 He did everything. He did his own, um, is Damien, you're saying, is that the director? That's the director, the writer, the, he did the editing, everything. And like, that's impressive. It's impressive to see to go from that to this massive film that beat Joker 2. Totally. Exactly. And I got to admire that.
Starting point is 01:27:44 Yeah, of course. Right. You know, is this guy, Rocky, have you seen interviews with him? Is he just a fan of horror, like a car? carpenter back in his daily. It does seem like that. Yeah, he seems like a nice guy who's just like obsessed with horrors. Okay. Yeah. I mean, look, it's just not for me. Next, Roman follows it up. He says, hot take. I don't know why this came to mind, but I remember debating last year, which was better between
Starting point is 01:28:03 Flash and Blue Beetle. I think Blue Beetle is better because while Flash took more chances, Blue Beetle was better executed thoughts. I agree with that. I think there's more to the overall movie. I didn't like, I didn't like both of the endings of those movies. But I, but I think that Blue Beetle is the better emotional movie overall. I like the family dynamic that it had, so I would go Blue Beetle. No, Mike? No, I couldn't say. I didn't like
Starting point is 01:28:26 Blue Beetle. Oh, okay. Roxy, how about you? It's like, it reminded me of what people say about Venom. Like, if it had come out in 2002, awesome. Yeah. But no. Okay. Roxy. Here's something absolutely crazy. I never watched Blue Beetle. Wow. You rocks. Really? I know. I know.
Starting point is 01:28:42 Uh, Derek Johnson, throwing some love to the show. Will Mr. Mike Boregard pass a visit today or Michael Cain? Well, he got Michael Cain already. Well, I do say, I do declare. O'Roxys Trier was watching the movie Glory and found it to be hilarious and chuckled and sued. Well, she was finding about our time of the year of American history, if it were. It was a blot. Someone would see that era as a blot on society.
Starting point is 01:29:08 Well, I found it as a learning experience about us as a country. We came together during that period. Roxy decided to have a huckle and a guffaw about it. Oh, can I tell you what people were really pissed? Hold on a second. I'm getting the vapors here on that one. You're making have a vapid's here. Please. People were really pissed about.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Apparently it's not cool to make fun of the Confederacy. Oh, no. And oh, no. I was like, this is bad. I mean like, where'd you do that? On glory. Oh, oh, oh, oh, right. And I was like just treading them. I mean, it's just like, and everybody's like, you don't understand at the time. At the time, you would have felt the same way. Suck my dick.
Starting point is 01:29:52 I never would have felt that way. But also, like, people were pissed that I was like, I mean, just shredding these, like, racist. Well, here is the next question. And this comes in from Derek Johnson. Here we go. Oh, sorry, we did Derek Johnson. Mike Joyce, actually. The best way to crack an egg is on a flat surface.
Starting point is 01:30:14 surface. If you know the movie, you understand. So do you know I've been doing that more since that movie? And how's it going? Great. I don't know what that is. It's from a movie you didn't see. What is a movie? It's the, um, we live in time. Yeah. Mike Joyce. And Mike, it is like the greatest movie ever. It's really good. Mike Joyce. Yeah. Yes. He says, how's the futon? Roxy and Mike want to weigh in. Yeah, my wife yesterday. So we have in this, uh, spare room where we, you know, in case somebody stays over my wife. We don't want to get like a big bed or anything to two. So I've just got like a futon, but yesterday all day long. Futon, Futon, Futon, Futon, Futon.
Starting point is 01:30:47 She just ordered it, so we didn't get it yet. So there's nothing to weigh in on just yet. You're going to be sleeping on that Futon Pish. I know, eventually, I'm sure. We did that one. And this is Derek who says, Hey, Roxy, I saw a photo that you posted at the Amelia Perez premiere premiere. You looked absolutely stunning.
Starting point is 01:31:02 Thank you so much. Really appreciate it. That was very good. That was a fun one. Yeah. He also follows it up and says, our sci-fi epic is just hard to write and adapt nowadays. We see things like,
Starting point is 01:31:14 Game of Thrones and old school fantasy, but the last sci-fi epic I watched was foundation on Apple TV and barely anybody watches it. Is it just too difficult? I think it's hard to get people sci-fi sometimes, depending on how deep sci-fi it is, is similar to how like horror is too. Like I love deep sci-fi. I love it, but sometimes like, I don't watch science fiction, too, it's too out there for me. It's too sci-fi for me. I like that kind of stuff. I know. I feel like Mike and Roxy are on the same page with that. But you see how that that happens, those? Do you feel that's the same, Roxy, that that happens?
Starting point is 01:31:50 I guess. Yeah. Yeah. Is Mikey frozen for you? Am I frozen? Yeah. He always, he's got a piece of crap camera. Because it's so funny because you were talking, Christian.
Starting point is 01:32:00 And I was like, oh, wow, Mike really disagreed. Yeah, I really disagreed. I'm back. Yeah. So I'm going through some of these starred questions here to make sure that I didn't miss any. So we did Derek, Derek Johnson. What's our number, Christian? You guys are tied with Roka at 61.
Starting point is 01:32:16 All right. So we need... Come on. Come on. Let's go. In the next 15 minutes, we kind of need 15 more to solidify our spot. Because tomorrow we're not going to have... Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:32:26 Tomorrow's is Steph and Brett potentially. Steph may or may not do I have to check. Thursday. Yeah, Thursday is a pre-tapped episode. And Friday is Winston and court. So, yeah, they have a chance. I'm trying to go. I'm going through other things.
Starting point is 01:32:44 here, what software we did already, right? I wanted to make sure we covered everybody's, yeah, okay, there we go. FX, Starlord. They should give Blade the six-episode transition to the MCU. We did that one with Daredevil Twist. And then, Christian Medort. The Snow White movie makes no sense. Galgadot is so pretty.
Starting point is 01:33:03 I can't see her asking a mirror who's the prettiest woman of them all. Rachel Ziegler is not better looking than Galgadot. That's the point. Yeah. That's the whole point. it's not about who is more beautiful or not it is if you don't have that inner love confidence then you turn evil yeah i have i have no i every every every print uh queen that they've had i mean julia roberts was evil queen uh charlie steran was the evil queen it's it's about yeah that's the point
Starting point is 01:33:35 it's the point yeah that that that that was a criticism that i saw that i said you got i mean even even the animated one in the in the 30s was was was good looking at when we see her as the witch that's really that's who she really is so yeah yeah that's that to me is not the uh if he i think you missed the point on that one i agree with roxon that i'm not really the movie but that's not really the point and they're both beautiful but like galgado dom is arguably the most beautiful person on the planet so you know uh shame arkell support for rocks mike and small business owners there you go Screwface John. Winston ain't here, but I'll donate.
Starting point is 01:34:12 Top three. What are the top three hip-hop albums or artists from each of you, if possible? Top three albums? I mean, I would put Tribe Called Quest in there for sure, which one probably low-end theory. You had to put Wutang in there, probably enter the Wutang. And then you know what I put in there? I put in there, speaking of Wutang, I would put in liquid swords, but there's other ones, too. do you guys have any in general and roxy put m&m in there i'm sure i mean like are we
Starting point is 01:34:43 are we combining rap and hip hop because like as a rap artist then m&m for sure um it used to be coney yeah you say the album's still good you can still say it's good but it's just not how i don't listen to it anymore so it's hard to and i'm obsessed with kendrick i think he's just like an absolute genius um yeah those are some of mine mike's too white all right luke s winds of winter is the next game of thrones book oh okay okay there you go so what comes i was gonna guess that because it just sounds like it does sound like it i would say winds of winter still comes out before blade yeah i said that too
Starting point is 01:35:22 dummy no one heard you dumb it's get a new camera nice camera nice camera you film a potato you shut your mouth and you're talking me go pie because i'm an idiot reminds me of heathers i love that movie but did any of you presumably Roxy, see that train wreck of a series adaptation? No, was that? No, is it real bad? Who was in that? I feel like somebody was in that that was... Let me look. Was it like Ricky Lake or something? Who was in that?
Starting point is 01:35:45 I heard that it was... Tell me who's in that. Tell me who's in that. Tell me who's in that. I didn't realize... You're talking about the TV show, right? Yes. I realized it was a thing not too long ago. 2018. Okay. Who's in that? Grace Victoria Cox. What is that? Courtney Cox? It? Melanie Field, James Scully. I don't know any of these.
Starting point is 01:36:07 Oh, wait, you know what it was? Wasn't it? Was Leslie Headland part of that? Not so. Oh, yeah. Leslie Headland directed four episodes. Okay. That's what I was.
Starting point is 01:36:20 Logan Astrup. June Messiah has the potential to be best picture worthy if they adopt it well. I think they will push a full fall 2027 release. The book is excellent. love to hear it that's a good that's that's that's uh encouraging that's encouraging so we will see um someone said that power rangers is never coming back i don't think that's true as long until until there's still there's still money to be made on it the fan awakens i know star wars hasn't been the most exciting topic lately but we have anyone from the channel at 2025 celebration in
Starting point is 01:36:54 japan probably not um yeah i i would i'm not going to go um not because If it was somewhere else, I would go, but I don't think I'd be able to get to be able to go over to Japan right now to cover that. And we're not at a spot right now where the channel is going to be sending people out to do it. So no, probably not. When in 2025 is it May? I would assume it's April. It's usually April. So I'm going to, but it might be you can double.
Starting point is 01:37:21 You can check Roxanne if you're Googling it. But if it landed in May, I wouldn't be surprised. Okay. So Mike Joyce says the comment section of Roxy's reaction. are always laugh out loud. I know. They really are. Jamilia jokes. Love the show and your co-hosts, especially Mike,
Starting point is 01:37:39 but I'm in love with Roxy. Can I ask her on a date? Not going to be especially Mike, but you're in love with me. He does. He's not in love with me, but, you know, hey, it's okay. Especially you. But what about especially me? Well, Jamila wants to slide into your DMs. I don't think that, yeah, she doesn't do that with fans, but that was very nice, very kind.
Starting point is 01:37:58 Yeah, I do not. Shea Markell. Hey, Rocks. you think Sophia was a good friend to Oz. Way better than Oz was to Sophia. Yeah, but I do think that the problem is that when she treated him like everybody else, when she didn't, and then she did, I think that's what turned. I think that's what is this whole thing happened.
Starting point is 01:38:20 You can't blame somebody else's treatment of you on your, them, what you do. Right. Like, you know, that's what therapy is for. You should have been in it better help. April 18th to the 20th. Okay, it was April. Okay. 420, baby, in Japan. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:38:38 Damn. Okay. Let's get to this next question here, and that is Cooley. Hi. That's up, Coolly. By the way, my daughter loved Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. It's a great movie. Such a great movie. I'm glad you showed it to her. So good.
Starting point is 01:38:49 GoPy. Roxy, between Tyler Hecklin and Dylan O'Brien. Were you a fan of Teen Wolf on MTV? No, I wasn't. I wasn't not a fan. I just never watched. watched it, but every Comic-Con that I covered the carpet, they always seem to have, like, the biggest crew there. People love that show.
Starting point is 01:39:07 I just, I never watched. I never even saw the movie. Oh, okay. Shea Markell. Christian, I love you, but you're insane not to pick Jackie Chan. That's my gun. Another debate I love is who is the better stunt man, him or Tom Cruise, him. Oh, Chan.
Starting point is 01:39:21 Yeah, Chan. Hold on a second. There we go, Billy. Go ahead, Frank. It's tough because you're saying stuntman. You're not saying fighter. Chan does stunts, but Chan's never hung off the side of an airplane. Are you crazy?
Starting point is 01:39:40 The stuff that's Chan, Chan breaks a bone every five seconds jumping off. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking. Has that man ever jumped out of an airplane? Is he ever ridden a motorcycle off of a mountain? That's one stunt. Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight. I'm just saying, man, it's a different.
Starting point is 01:39:58 And I love what he does. Hold on. There's a reason why on movies you have a. stunt coordinator and you have a fight coordinator. They're two different things. Yeah, I'm going to say Jackie Chanhands down. You're saying pound for pound. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:09 Fighting, absolutely. No, I'm saying when it comes to a stunt, dude, some of somebody's hanging off the bus and crazy. You're not wrong. You're not wrong. He's got a longer career. I get it. Yeah.

Starting point is 01:41:38 See, now, I would say, I really like the Mets. I don't mind the Mets. I don't mind the Mets. I mean, it's also because most Mets fans hate the Yankees. I think the Yankees look at the Mets and go, hey, a little guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Joyous Romer, may the Force be with you guys.
Starting point is 01:41:54 Roxy is the best. How do you feel about the Jets? They're there. Okay. Yeah. Tommy Lee. Mike, what are you doing, Mike? What's up?

Starting point is 01:43:12 No, I binge it and I enjoyed it. Has Stranger Things vibes and an amazing cast. Who's in that one, Rox? I don't know. Let me look. Screwface follows up. Christian, you definitely must have been a hip-hot head back in the day with that list and that warrants my heart. Great list.
