Starting point is 00:00:00 Clayface making some money. Looks like it's going to do okay. Looks like the strategy of the, let's make something for a little lower budget in different genres. See if we can capture the audience just outside of D.C. Could have paid off. So we're going to talk about that. We will also talk about the fact that looks like we got our new beast.
Starting point is 00:00:27 And yesterday was the first time we ever heard of it. Never heard that once before that from anywhere else. It was the first time I ever heard of it. It was yesterday. It was this guy from Game of Thrones. So we'll talk about that. Got it some other stuff to discuss. A lot of stuff in the news, actually.
Starting point is 00:00:45 We'll go over the box office numbers in general besides just Clayface. And then Xbox turned down a $500 million offer. So we'll dive into that. And then we'll talk about the fact that the Eldon Ring film and it's got a $200 million budget. So that and more on the show here today with myself and John Roker leading into this brand new week. Everybody's excited.
Starting point is 00:01:11 I'm excited. Here we go. Did you shit in there? Back, back, back, back. We are today on the show. John Roker is here. Oh, you're getting ready, huh? Yeah, I took this one out of the closet there.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I'm going to go. Yeah. Wait a minute. It's, it's official now. You will be competing in a 16-person tournament. We'll be competing in Burbank, a rendezvous restaurant, bar. Excited about that. We don't know yet who you'll be going up yes yet in that first round, but it's going to be exciting.
Starting point is 00:01:54 This is the first I'm hearing of this. Honestly, wait, we're doing this at a bar in Burbank? Oh, you didn't know about this. So, you don't know. You don't tell me anything. You love not to tell me anything. You love not to tell me anything. You came into the show whenever we did.
Starting point is 00:02:05 It was definitely talked about, um, for a very long time throughout the live stream. But J.C. Reifenberg and Derek McMahon, who are the co-financer, J.C. Rifenberg, as you know, from Scum and Villeney, who maybe helped us out when we needed a place to shoot Schmo down. Oh, yes, I remember that. Right. And so they opened up a new place right next to the AMC in Burbank that's meant for live events and stuff and more so, like shows and they built it out a little bit more because when Greg was on here,
Starting point is 00:02:35 he was talking about it. So J.C. Rivenberg came in as an executive producer on trending. And with that, we are going to, the exclusive home for the 15 person or 16 person tournament, I still keep saying 15 because it's 15 matches. 60 will be at rendezvous. And so we'll be doing there. And people keep asking, I'm waiting, I'm hearing back from Craig, because PLD, you're not quite off the hook yet.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Because you said once we reach 300K from the Kickstarter, we'll get PLD. A in a Well he's going to be doing Trek that we already know But he's gonna but dressing up as donkey going to the Avianna awards We might still be able to get if we hit 300 on the Kickstarter Hold on he's shaking his finger really 300 on the Kickstarter Not an additional not additional
Starting point is 00:03:22 money you can't you can't do that if you want to come in you got pop yourself in the ball I'm trying it which I figured out That was that day that was a 24 hour saying That was a 24 hour day Rokka Shops is not dealing with you. This is the other Christian I. Who cares? Get out of here.
Starting point is 00:03:38 That was that day. You'd love it. All right. Well, if we get it today, you still go to do it. Today, yes, $300,000 by the day. The end of the day, I'll do it. All right, that's fair. Is he wearing his Hamilton sweatshirt?
Starting point is 00:03:50 What is he wearing? I don't know what he's like. It looks something good. David Bowie, Black Star, maybe. David Bowie. Oh, that's good. So anyway, we did really get. There's something, two things that I want to address
Starting point is 00:04:00 before we go into the stories and stuff, because we've got tons of talk about today. Yeah. The first is just a very heartfelt thank you to everybody, right? Because we ended up, John, at 283, which is, I mean, but the best. I mean, listen, we'll figure out a way to get to the rest of it. And we'll go outside if we have to, too, the fact that we got everybody involved in it and what the audience did in the way that they showed up.
Starting point is 00:04:28 I couldn't have asked for more. I couldn't ask. I mean, I really couldn't. They just, they showed up. They did something extraordinary. They really, really got behind me on this thing. And whether it was for the trending side of it, Shmode on people, whatever it was,
Starting point is 00:04:43 we did what we set out to do. And there are so many people who said we couldn't do it. And we did it. And we all did it together. So that's part one. So I will continue to thank the audience and everybody who was involved in this. Sure. Leading to this show,
Starting point is 00:04:57 leading after the show and through it. But the other thing is I told like, Peel, because I did a 10-hour stream, obviously, two of those things. And the first one took it out of me. And I was, I can't even, I can't even tell you. I was so loopy and I couldn't remember anything. So the smart guy and me decides, well, I was trying to be a nice guy, too. And I wanted to make sure that Winston got a show in on Friday.
Starting point is 00:05:21 There was no world. I should have been doing a show. I couldn't even think. I didn't even. I couldn't remember half of anything I was saying. You could always call on me if you need some assistance. But do you got also. understand right now is that with with everything even this week I'm either because
Starting point is 00:05:35 everything that's going into the show right people are putting you can't expect the normal super chats that we get and everything to people are holding back and putting it towards a Kickstarter issue right right so it's hard for me to to go outside and do different hosts and things I got to cut back on stuff which is fine and we will pick back up once we once we start moving again but I was yeah on Friday and I didn't even know half the shit I was saying and I couldn't even get to figure out the stream Labs and I saw five seconds that show. This is not leaving. I deleted the show
Starting point is 00:06:05 completely off the way. I couldn't even put thoughts together to talk about the series. The shows that were going on, the news. And I was trying to have conversations about it. And I just couldn't form an inch of a care to talk about any of it. And I was like, I can't keep that on the air.
Starting point is 00:06:26 So I removed it. But I still obviously still paid Winston and But it was just a matter of that that was nothing that no one needed to have on there. But I did put my stand-up set from the October 8th for members only up on the Oh, nice. Up on the channel. So people are curious by that.
Starting point is 00:06:46 If anybody gives memberships today, you can go and you can see that. And then Pieldy and I have to figure out this week to do the membership stream when we're going to do that. So there's a lot of different things we got going on. And yeah. So let's see. we are going to talk about this story and I shoot I want to give the guy a shout out because what I will say is that
Starting point is 00:07:05 there is someone on I mentioned this sometimes you challenge people and you go okay well if someone was like why do you only cover comic book movie dot com and news you don't do something else I go I'll tell you what I'll give you my email address you send me the stories and then I'll do them and I've done that before and of course
Starting point is 00:07:22 or I've challenged someone to come on the air and do something too and they go and they just go silent this guy sent stories Oh, okay. And so we're going to cover the story. And he sent it from Deadline. And I'm going to give him a shout out later. After the ads, I'll look him up and I'll give him a shout out because he did exactly what he said he was going to do.
Starting point is 00:07:40 And he wasn't a dude. He just said, he goes, I just didn't want you to cover just the bias particular article on this stuff and just maybe just the news itself. I said, that's fair. I said, no problem at all. Let's let's take a look. And he sent it to it. And it's a good article from Deadline. So this is the one.
Starting point is 00:07:56 And Clayface. beams at a 43 million worldwide opening delivers Paramount Warner Brothers second number one weekend since the merger. And this is from Anthony D. Alessandro over at deadline. The newly combined Paramount Warner Brothers merger saw its second back-to-back number one weekend at the global box office with DC's Clayface, which earned 43 million worldwide. This is a new norm consecutive weekends by Skydance. Should the Platinum Studio Disney be worried, even if A-24 is you, You can see everything pops to number one over the dead zone of Halloween state side. Whenever there's animation, the cat in the hat, will bring Skydance back to number one over the first frame in November. Though the global opening here for Clayface is under the 45 that it's hoped for,
Starting point is 00:08:41 it's still solid for the net of the 44 million costing feature before P&A, especially given its excellent audience exits. That's an A-minus is one of the few earned by horror titles, others being Get Out, Weapons, Obsession, DC Boss is James Gun and Peter Safran reportedly covered their faces after watching Clayton. for the first time, literally scared by all the gross scenes. That's what fanboys and moviegoers are responding to. The global opening here in pure dollars isn't far from what the other mommy from Bloomhouse Atomic Monster did a few weeks ago, that being a 45 million start, but in 50
Starting point is 00:09:14 territories, a foreign start for that D plus the horror movie was 17.8, while Clayface here was 19 from 76. Domestic was number one with 24 million over 824 second frame of three-hour documentary. You can see everything, by the way, Nathan Fielder, Oppenheim co-directed nonfiction film doesn't start opening abroad until November 12th in Australia, followed by UK on November 20th via A24. Let's say, regards to Clayface's territory grosses is exceeded or met other mommy's first weekend in the UK. Australia, France, Brazil, yada, yada, yada, yada. Let's say anything else there.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Meanwhile, in reporter Grosses, Clayface opened in Italy, and it beat Supergirl's first weekend of 1717.7K in Korea's first weekend of 422K. So I'm just going to jump to the box office mojo right here. And let's see what we got. So we had Clayface $24 million with a total, John, of $43 million, the weekend. Oh, John can't hear me. Now I couldn't hear you. Now you can see everything. Now this is like a massive hit, right?
Starting point is 00:10:20 Because how much does this cost? $33? I mean, it's $45 million overall worldwide. and it hasn't even open everywhere else. Wildwood is the one everyone's raving about. 11,600. I don't know what the budget was on that one. I'm sure it was a little.
Starting point is 00:10:33 It was 100 and 100 million, I think. So it's kind of a shanker, unfortunately. Yeah, unfortunately. But that might be a, that movie might be a Shawshank Redemption type thing. I'll get into that in a little bit. Street Fighter at 79 million worldwide so far. So what did it, it was number,
Starting point is 00:10:51 it dropped pretty dramatically into third. place. I didn't even know about this movie until the other day, Wicker. And then, Wicker, yeah. Wicker's doing well. Looking at the rest of these. Yeah. I mean, those are, well, fall had a pretty big drop. Yeah. You're not to be a fail. Same with other mommy.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Okay. So let's start with Clayface, man. This is, this is a question that this was a question, this was a question that we were talking about for a little bit, how it was going to do. Yeah. I think if you're D.C. and you're Warner Brothers and your sky dance right now you're happy yeah i think you're happy for the first weekend i think you're happy that you made your production budget back uh and that you got these positive cinema scores that most of the critics are on board with i think it's 75% on rotten tomatoes and 94% audience
Starting point is 00:11:41 score so all of those things trend in the positive and we'll see what the second weekend does because it's going to be word of mouth and it's Halloween which should help people want to go see a scary movie so if the second weekend isn't too much much of a drop compared to other superhero films or villain films, then that's a positive overall. We'll see because, I mean, this is going to be, I mean, other mommy started out really positively, but it had a lot of negative criticism, negative word of mouth. So that's why it dropped.
Starting point is 00:12:11 That's why it dropped. This one doesn't have that. This one. This one will see what happens if people want to go back and see it over and over and over again and, you know, get it to a place where, because I think it has to at least. 10 million to be considered profitable or remotely a success, little quote. But for right now, it's made its production budget back, which is good for the opening weekend. I think, I think this is a big win for DC. You think it's a big win? I do. I'll tell you why. Because I'll tell you why I think
Starting point is 00:12:41 it's a big one. Because first of all, you've got this set up into this smaller, non-connected thing, starring a villain that no one really knows. What's not connected? They have, Gotham City in this thing. It's absolutely connected. Sure. It connected in, not connected in a way that the story that they've been telling so far, whether it's Leonard. What I mean is they're not getting you into the theater. If you watch lanterns or if you watch Superman, if you watch Supergirls. Oh, you had to watch all those things. I'm just saying it's not connected. It's an insular story. Right. Via storyline. Sure. It's part of the DCU and Gotham happens to be in it. But I could make a thing right now and say, Godham's in it. I can go to the city and go. I'm in New York right now. And it's got to connect it to the DCU today. I mean, tomorrow it could be, you can see Clayface and then it is absolutely connected. But they weren't marketing off that to, well, if you like this and this, it's a standalone thing with an unknown actor going into this thing. And the first big win and you can scoff at it is that it's not a loss or it's not a, it's not a bomb, right? Because the first win for them, they needed Superman to do good, right? And it did.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Yeah. It did good. It did good. Supergirl ate a pile of shit. Lanterns, divisive, I think, but did well, right? For TV. Yeah, the numbers are good,
Starting point is 00:14:02 but the numbers have kind of, like, they've been adjusted, the viewership numbers, so unfortunately, but it also got review bombed because of its subject to it. Right, right. But movie-wise, leading into this. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:14 If it's another bomb, it's like, oh, D.C.'s failing again. So the win comes from, okay, like, what you just said is a win in where it's like, all right, well, even if they get to, if they break even on it, no one's going to say, oh, this thing's in the shitter because of the smaller budget that it was made for. Everything rests on the shoulders of man of tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Everything. Yeah. And this Clayface pretty much goes, hey, we did what we were supposed to do. Good luck, soups. Right? And so the massive win to me comes from the idea that the audience really enjoyed it. And the audience that went to see it, yes. that went to see it really enjoyed it really liked it um critics were split on it right i had i i don't know
Starting point is 00:14:59 we haven't talked about what you thought of me but i do you see where i was going with the with the punisher the dulf lungren kind of punisher that kind of vibe of the of the of the movie meets the fly meets uh yeah totally yeah that kind of old school 90s thing and that kind of level of quality as well yeah it had some silly shit going on with it too but and and a lot of holes in the story but i just it was just one of those movies to me that i enjoyed watching and if it would have been made me made for $70 or $80 million. I've been like, what the hell are they thinking? But the fact that they're 30, 40 million dollars, and it can kind of keep chugling along
Starting point is 00:15:31 if it indeed does. I think, yeah, I think it could be a big win for the studio right now. Okay. So for me, I would say that this is a positive weekend for it. I wouldn't call it a big win, maybe a win in that it didn't, you're like you said, didn't bite the pillow, that it actually made its production budget back. But we've got to see what it does over the next couple of. of weekends to see if this is actually a win because it was made for 45, which means the two and a half
Starting point is 00:15:58 times, just that standard thing you've got to look at two and a half times. Like, it's not a win to not lose money when you're D.C. That is ridiculous to me to put that on a massive thing. Like imagine Zach Snyder, he made that $45 million on a $45 million dollar budget. People would lose their mind. I know. But I'm just saying from where they are now, the rhythm. I understand the perspective, right? But people want to like, to me, I don't think coming out the box with a film that's essentially a tossaway Saturday matinee film that you, that is part of building the DC universe blocks, that to me I think is not a positive. But if it makes it's, if it makes a profit, I think that's what they want to
Starting point is 00:16:39 look at because I mean, the way people are talking about this movie, they're acting like it's mandoloring and grogoo. Like as long as it makes its budget back, that's what's important. No, no, I think there's much more than it has to do than just make its budget back. Well, I think that that's why I included the positive feedback from the audience, right? Because the positive feedback outside of PLD and seven other people wasn't really there for Mandeloreen and Grogu. You know, it's like for most people, why was that movie in a theater? Like, why, like, no, I know you're right. But I'm saying the way people were trying to kind of downplay this movie a little bit going,
Starting point is 00:17:10 oh, you know, if it just kind of, you know, breaks even, that's great. And it's like, what? What? This is not a film they're just putting out there like Mando and Grogu just to get out. They actually want people to. Of course, they want to be able to use this character more in those things for sure. But again, the strategy of the lowered budget genre film, it just takes the, it just takes the weight off of them a little bit more of going, well, see, you guys, you guys trying to do a $40 million, or barely broke $8 million. What are you guys doing?
Starting point is 00:17:41 That question is not fair. That would have been horrible. That's what I'm saying. That's why I think it's a win where it's like more so, hey, everything needs to be focused on what can we do with Man of Time? tomorrow. This takes this again, a win from in my mind. This is a win because it takes that question of it's another one. People just don't care. No one's no one's going to see it. No one cares. Your audience you even attended for it. The audience that you wanted to see it. Right. They did see it. The audience that that really wanted to see this because that's that happens
Starting point is 00:18:09 sometimes too. Like even the people that they wanted to see Supergirl and they go, right, oh, they're going to love. They didn't go. The people that they aimed this movie towards saw it. Yeah. And that's a win to me. That's a win. Well, win is fine. When you say big win, that's a whole other conversation. Well, I guess maybe big win. But a win I'll give you.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Okay, sure. Maybe a big win comes with, like you're saying, like once. If it makes a hundred or more. I just feel like it's going to continue to kind of keep troogling along a little bit. Very possible. I just don't know what's coming out outside that has its competition in that, in that realm, right? Right. In the horror realm?
Starting point is 00:18:44 Yeah. Nothing, especially during, and you still got Halloween right around the corner. So maybe people want to see some. body horror type stuff because yeah let's say so next week nothing coming out this week no not really it's got nothing this week so you got yeah like no competition quicker
Starting point is 00:19:01 yeah christmas at the cringles dr stews cat in the hat next on november 6th yeah yeah godzilla minus zero is it is that that um look i love godzilla minus zero and i love godzilla minus one but let's not pretend that it made like this hand over fist type money the first time uh it didn't know I don't know. Wild Horse 9.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Ramayana part one might do really well, but I still don't think that that's going to be. Yeah, I don't see it have any. I mean, it could keep getting people in theater like, hey, you know, I heard that thing wasn't bad. Let's check that out and want to see a horror film. It could. So I think that's why I think it's a possibility.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Now, what did you think of the movie? Do you like it? I know. I thought it was a sea level movie. I mean, I thought the kid was good. The main kid. I thought he was good. It's clearly two scripts being smashed together
Starting point is 00:19:52 because some of the dialogue and some of the logic in the film makes no sense. He had no chemistry with Naomi Acky. No, he didn't. It was just absolutely cashing a paycheck. She was like half in, half out of that movie. They wasted Max Mangela, who was also a paycheck. He was great in that movie, though. I thought he was great in that movie.
Starting point is 00:20:10 What else is he in? Social Network. Remember, he's the guy with the Winklevoss twins. He's their friend who's trying to push them to start. sure is. Yeah, and he's done a lot of things and been serious regulars, I think, on TV shows. He's a good actor. He's a very good actor. I thought he was good. It was the stuff with his
Starting point is 00:20:26 managers and agent was cheesy. The stuff with his best friend was cheesy. I like that actor. I thought that actor was miscast for his best friend. Oh, yeah, I thought so too. He was great in Andrew. Oh, that's right. He wasn't in. My issue with the film, is there's a really good, dark
Starting point is 00:20:41 film underneath this film that we have now that's a very trying to be populist four quadrant. Like, we're not four quadrant. It's three quadrant. But like to me, there's a really great dark film exploring the perils of fame, exploring like the idea of you have to look a certain way, especially now with everyone's on Ozempic.
Starting point is 00:21:00 Like there's a lot of conversations. This film could have opened up and attached the darker horror elements. And I think Flanagan's script pops through every once in a while in those darker moments. And you're like, that's the film I would have loved to have seen. Because to me, I don't think they do a good enough job to make you believe this. guy would turn evil because they do such an excellent job of building up. This is a guy who crawled and crawled and scratched his way to the top, who was humbled by a nomination, who, you know, cared about giving back to his community, talk to the kids, encouraging them
Starting point is 00:21:34 to stand up and pursue their dreams. So he's a really good guy. So you've got to work really hard to make it believable that he turned evil and not having chemistry with the woman, which is one of the biggest reasons he turns, kind of erodes that. But I love the club scene and I love the plane scene. Those are a lot of fun. I think, I don't think there's one thing that you said there that I don't think is valid. I think it is. I just watched that movie. I didn't have, I didn't need it to hold any expectations for myself. I think that's fine. I went in going, what are they going to give me? And what they give me, I enjoyed watching. But I think when you analyze it the way that you did, and as I said in the beginning, I think that there's
Starting point is 00:22:16 There's a lot of plot holes and there's a lot of things like, or there was no chemistry between the two of them whatsoever. And there was a lot of decisions that she made and like, well, I don't know what I like her. Yeah, exactly. A couple of things that she was doing. I'm like, I mean, I was very responsible. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:31 And certainly it's, I'm like, that's not nice what you're doing. I'm like, because that guy's pretty nice and what you're doing sucks. Yeah. But, but then again, like I said, I was, I just felt like I was watching something on showtime in 1996 or 93 and you know I just stumbled upon it I kicked up my feet off on my table and I just watching a freaking movie and I said okay I just watched a movie that's yeah and I think both things are valid I think I think me wanting more from a from the third DC film right the third yeah third DC film yeah me is not wrong and you all getting a film that you can just
Starting point is 00:23:13 watch and have fun with and but it is also not wrong. So it's like these are the things that can, they can both compete at the same time. And neither one has to shit on the other. No, it's true. You want to hear the craziest take out of all three of them? Sure.
Starting point is 00:23:25 Sure. Not that I think it's the best made, but out of the three films that were made in the theater, I enjoyed watching this one the most. Wow. Yeah. Oh, no. I loved Superman.
Starting point is 00:23:37 I think Superman is a better made movie and a better quality movie. Right. I enjoyed after rewatches and stuff too, I like, I like, I mean, I haven't rewatched Clayface yet, but, but after we're watching Superman, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I've, I, I, I, I'm, I just like the kind of, maybe that's why I, because I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm rewatching, we rewatching, we, rewatch the Snyder stuff and I just, yeah, I love it. I don't mind, I like, I like, I love manist steel. I like, I like, I like, I like those moves. I, I don't like, I don't, I don't mind the darker stuff. I think DC can be darker and it gets a little fluffy.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Like that's why I like the stuff that was going on in Lantern, some of the stuff. Like some of the darker tones that they had it. I prefer that tone. That's, but I know other people don't, but I'm just saying that that's why for me I enjoyed that. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:24:24 that's why I wanted that element to be a bigger part of the movie. I wanted to figure, even the gross stuff didn't gross me out that much. Yeah, no, there's some, it's body horror. And I'm like, that's not really body horror. Nah, not. There's some,
Starting point is 00:24:37 some gross stuff for sure. And there's some stuff I was like, oh, that's kind of, it was harder for me to watch some of the things that was going on in the mummy. This year's the mummy. This year's the mummy. Lee Crone is a lot. I'm like, and I was, I remember literally watching Lee Crone's one going, all right, get it. I get it. We're just going, I don't need to watch this. This is terrible. People like this. I don't. I didn't feel that way with the way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But anyway, the rest of the movies that kind of came out at the box office in general, trying to think what was it
Starting point is 00:25:09 anything that really stood out anything that dropped real big as we said Wildwood that's a bummer that that's what I was saying with the with the Shawshank Redemption of it all yeah I feel like Wildwood I haven't seen it yet but I have not heard a single person not only I have not heard a single person saying the negative about it I haven't heard a single person not rave about it
Starting point is 00:25:29 like not every single person that I've heard seen this movie says one of the best animated movies that they've seen in a long time that's what everybody says um now it didn't do very well but i think it will be nominated for an award and i now i have to see it and i could change my tune on that but i just you you can follow a buzz sometimes and i feel like the buzz is going to lead it to that and i think more people will see it even though it's probably going to be i just don't know if this kind of animation pulls anymore in the theater unfortunately i hate saying that but like the well it's it's been 10 years since they've released a film i think like like oh well it's
Starting point is 00:26:06 Well, actually, they had the, didn't they have the one with Hugh Jack Ben where he's the Yeti? I think that's like, but like, Cubo and the two strings was the last really big notable one. It was in 2016. So it's even more of a kind of punch in the face because their opening weekend is lower than Cubo and the two strings for this movie. And it's considered, like you said, just about everybody seeing it, all the critics and all the fans seeing it have said it's an amazing, incredible film. but they'd only get 11 million, which is really hard. I'm going to say I started watching the Malcovic one. Oh, Wild Horse 9.
Starting point is 00:26:43 It's really, really good. I'm going back to watch the rest of it. Probably tonight or tomorrow. I just, I tried to watch it right off that live stream. I'm like, what am I doing? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's crazy how, like, I was a different person. I couldn't even, my head, I couldn't even, I couldn't even formulate thoughts.
Starting point is 00:27:03 it was it was you're not a young man anymore you could do a 10 hour stream in your 20s and 30 two of them I did two of them in the course of a month like I thought it was the first one was like I only took me four days to recover like last night dude I was I was I was in bed by nine o'clock last night it's out cold my wife was like you're going to sleep ready I'm like I'm like I feel like I've been up for four years and so anyway um yeah while horse nine is good and if I imagine you're watching it on the cc a app I hope you watch uh only living last limit What is it? Oh, the pickpocket.
Starting point is 00:27:35 Is it good? Yeah, it's such a good New York movie, so I think you'll really like it. You know, I saw that trailer this morning, or I didn't watch the full trailer, but I saw that, so it was playing somewhere when I, yeah,
Starting point is 00:27:46 yeah, that just popped up on the app. There's a few things. I'm going to really dive into that app real soon. Yeah. Now that I can, you know, now that I have a little bit more time to do these. I have three screenings this week.
Starting point is 00:27:58 I don't know what you're going to see. I don't know if I have, I got La Bola negative tomorrow night. Oh, okay. I got invited to Godzilla minus zero tomorrow morning, but I would have to drive up to L.A. I would tell you for your channel, I think that it's worth it. Yeah? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:13 It's like, I wanted to see it because I was just super excited about seeing it. I know you are too, but like, yeah. Before I saw that, before I had done that out of the theater reaction, my highest, I think it was like 196 was disclosure day. That out of the theater is currently stands at 322. That's amazing. People want to see that movie. People are curious about it. So I would say you should, it's probably worth it.
Starting point is 00:28:38 And it's just a damn, probably one of my favorite movies, if not my favorite movie the year so far. Right. Right. But I'm going to see, when am I seeing, I'm seeing three movies. I'm seeing Ramayana, which is that. Oh, yeah. I'm seeing that. I think I see that tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Wednesday, I'm going to see Cat in a Hat. And then Thursday, I'm seeing a movie you saw already, which is I play Rocky. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're going to see that. So I see all. three of those this week. That's my, it's kind of busy. So I'm trying to figure out, tomorrow I'm going to take the day off in the morning. And Roxy and Mike will, will host Wednesday. I got to see with Kev, I got to figure out if I'm going to do the show
Starting point is 00:29:16 later earlier or not do it. And then Thursday might have to take the, the day off when then come back on Friday. So I have to, I got to double check. So that's kind of, that's kind of what we're doing this week and a lot going on as we're leading up to things. All righty. Let's First I want to hear what the audience thinks about the box office. What do you think about Clayface? Where do you stand?
Starting point is 00:29:39 Is it a win? Do you agree with John? And let's see how it does in the following weeks before you declare it anything. Do you think that it's a major win overall just because the fact that it's it got the audience in there? They wanted to see it. It did pretty well as far as audience score. What say you? Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Before we move on to our next story. I got to tell you guys we are, I have been sleeping so well. Listen, and as I just told John, when I crashed last night at 9 a.m., I love my mattress. I have the Kalshi mattress. I've had it for a bit, but then I just got another one, which, Cali. I said, Kalshi mattress.
Starting point is 00:30:19 Helchus. Still, I'm still, I'm still. I'm still not there yet. Helix. Good Lord. Helix sleep. I love Helix. And I'm, they've had.
Starting point is 00:30:30 their mattress for a while. We just got their queen. So I'll tell you about Helix. And then I'll tell you about Calci. Check it out. Thank you, Calci. And thank you to Helix asleep. I'm excited for both of them.
Starting point is 00:30:42 And really, really recommend them. John, you got a good mattress? Yeah, of course. Yeah, we got it a few years ago at the mattress store. Well, it might be up. It might be time to upgrade. It's so comfortable. I love it.
Starting point is 00:30:56 My wife and I was like, we were even thinking, at one point we were like, is this too big for a room? normally who cares i'm not going to run of this bed i'd rather i'd rather you know have the room be a little smaller and have a real comfortable bed um even when i don't understand how important it is oh it's so important it's so important it's so great too too because my little one um had crawled in the bed with us not too long ago and she crashed with us and i didn't even know she was in the bed she was like oh wow because i'm like okay it was something it was great um anyway so we got more stuff to discuss. I see people asking questions
Starting point is 00:31:29 like, hey, I really wanted to donate to the Kickstarter and get a chance to. Apparently it's still, it's from what Craig told me is that you can still back it if you wanted to. But I don't know, I can't find the button. I just talk to Craig. It says that if you've already pledged, you can't edit
Starting point is 00:31:47 your pledge because you're locked in and paid for. If you were a new pledge, though, you should be all to do it just fine. Copy, copy, copy, copy. That doesn't work from me, John. It doesn't work on me. Try it. John, try it, try it. Get out of here.
Starting point is 00:32:04 So, yeah, okay, good. Oh, there you go. So I guess you can't edit your pledge, but you can do new ones. He's like that S-D that doesn't go away. Dude, you know, Matt Sarah saved the day at the live stream, though. Oh, big Matt. What did you do? He came in and he went to my favorite pizza place is Talios.
Starting point is 00:32:20 And it's the place I took, Pieldy and Ellis too. And he's like, I'm going to tell. you want anything. It was like, yeah, if you can give me a slice or two, it would be great. He brought a whole pie. And I just, I annihilated like four slices on the air. It was like, someone said, you eat like a savage. I like it. I was like, it was, it was, it was survival eating. It was survival. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, so we got some other things. I don't, John, you hear about this story. Let me, I don't know, you might, you might have just not heard about it yet. I'll tell you about it. So the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star is apparently going to play Beast.
Starting point is 00:32:57 Yeah, might have heard about this one. Have you? I didn't think you knew about it. And new X-Men. I love this guy. I think he's great. I think he's a perfect cast for this too. We'll talk about this.
Starting point is 00:33:07 It's an Irish actor Peter Claffey, the star of HBO's A night of Seven Kingdoms, is rumored to have been cast as Hank McCoy, aka Beast, in the upcoming X-Men film at Marvel Studios. Night Edge Media broke this story, saying that the actor, who plays Sir Duncan the Tall in the Game of Thrones spin-off series isn't just in contention but his land in the role. Scooper Jeff Schneider!
Starting point is 00:33:29 Snyder! First rumored clap for the role back in April. There you go. Thank you. There you go. Previously actor Charles Melton was linked to the part but dropped out of the running to star as Kakashi Hatake
Starting point is 00:33:40 in Destin Daniel Cretan's live action a Naruto movie. Said that right? I don't know. Melton reportedly tried to make scheduling for both projects work, but he couldn't. Production on the new X-Men film is expected to begin in the UK sometime in early 2027. I love this casting.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Yeah. He's great for Beasts. He's got the size. He's got that kind of delivery where, and he's got that kindness. And he's perfect. I think he's perfect. He's perfect. I mean, he's a kind of guy who is still building his resume as an actor.
Starting point is 00:34:16 So being part of an ensemble film of mutants makes, where he's not the lead. Mutant makes a lot of sense and it's a challenge and it's interesting and it could set him up for a very nice payday in his life. So I think this is all positive. Oh yeah. Melton, I, you know, we talked about a lot on on Hot Mike, the Melton possibility. I never quite a hundred percent. What's his name? Charles Melton liked the like believed that he was going to be cast. Right. Because I kept saying like, this guy's a lead. This guy, this guy almost got nominated for an Oscar. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This guy's a lead. And so it just felt weird for him for Beast.
Starting point is 00:34:53 So it makes sense that he'd been like, you know what? I don't want to be part of an ensemble. I like Charles Melton. I don't think he's the guy for Beast. I think he'd be something else. Totally. He's a really good actor and something else.
Starting point is 00:35:04 But as far as when you think of the look of Beast and I don't know, I just think Claffie is the better choice for this character. Yeah. Jeff broke it back in April on the hot mic. I posted the clip out of it yesterday. day and just to you know because I saw some people claiming that they'd come up with it or they had the break and I was like come on guys this has been around for a while there was some fan casting to be fair before Jeff even mentioned it and that I totally respect but fancasting versus actual sources connected to Marvel telling you are two different things right and so I think this is where it was like a little bit like so the the original the guy who posted originally he credited us so no problem there but there were other people running with the story who were claiming that they came up with it and it was breaking news and I was like, come on, guys. Here's the video.
Starting point is 00:35:51 We talked about it in April, calm it down. Well, either way, I think they're putting together a really solid ensemble. Yes. Good, up-and-coming actors, good, strong-up-and-coming actors. And they're doing it without leading with Wolverine first. Yeah, which I don't think is going to be in that movie. He shouldn't be.
Starting point is 00:36:10 And he should be, if he is, it should be a post-credit scene. And almost in the way that they did Thanos with whoever really is playing him, isn't it's just like you see the clause you see the clause or something it's like oh shit and that's the post-credit scene but you don't know who it is um like that you don't you don't need wolverine to to start i mean i'm watching the x-men movies now with with sam the original ones and like you needed him to to really get that going oh yeah you needed that star power you needed to lead on his storyline. They're enough in, because they were,
Starting point is 00:36:48 the X-Men were in the geek culture, and everyone knew the X-Men that way, but they weren't in the cinema culture. It was the first introduction into them, and you lead with your power hitters. They're in, they're in the, the Zite guys now. People know, people know. People want to, people want to see the X-Men, and they don't necessarily need it. And just, we just watched Last Stand again. Holy crap, you talk about, Cyclops was just
Starting point is 00:37:12 thrown away. That whole movie is garbage. Sam really liked that. I didn't, I, yeah, I was like, I didn't, I was like, ah, yeah, there's a lot of stuff. It was like, even when that was going on, I remember being so, there was two things that really upset me. One is probably nitpicky, but it is still something that bothered me.
Starting point is 00:37:32 John, what's Magneto's power? What's, what's his main power? Magnetism, be able to move things. It's metal, right? So why is tied out in the woods? Like, things like that. That's part one. Part two is that was when the internet culture memes and all those things were starting to come out.
Starting point is 00:37:53 And I remember getting past that YouTube video, everyone laughing their ass off about, I'm the juggernaut, bitch. Oh, yeah, yeah. And I'm like, it's one thing when it's, you know, in the movie, what are you doing? What are you doing? And little things, there are some things that work, some things that don't. And, you know, the continuity is kind of all over the place. with those movies that's starting with there like especially when you connected to x-men first class
Starting point is 00:38:18 like the first time in x-man first class when he's the continuity you know charles's like says he gets shot in that beach and i think that was a great way to do it but he was a young man right and he's still walking around in the beginning of x-man yeah in what the hell the last stand he still he they show up to jean gray's house and he's and he's still walking around so like kind of knew he's all over the place with those movies what's brett what's brett retina man i mean what you expect you guys probably high on Coke the whole time making it just didn't like it didn't slide up allegedly I don't want him to assume he was yeah but like the the way it lined up it was just like all of it was so wrong and also listen no offense I never really bought hallibarius storm so making her be
Starting point is 00:38:56 one of the central figures in that film with Hugh Jackman I just didn't buy it you know because they kind of moved Gene to the side move as you said Cyclops to the side they wasted angel in that movie oh they wasted angel they wasted a great actor and they wasted that kid I didn't give a good enough example of why. Because I don't think Gene Gray was necessarily, like, wasted because she was in the, she was in the front of the storyline. I just don't, I think she was used poorly. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Yeah. Because it's like, yeah, she's, she's the Phoenix now. Why? Because. Oh, okay. All right. So, but like, but Sam just likes being in the world. Sam just likes.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Oh, yeah. And so she had, she had, she got a kick out of it. And she's like, she's like, at the end of. event she's like i knew you were gonna shit on this thing i could tell when you're when we were watching it and i and i she goes i could tell because of the because i brought up the woods thing yeah yeah yeah she's like tell they're in that part and i was like look did you love it she said i really enjoyed it i go great i'm i'm like i don't want to i'm not going to shit on you for that i'm like that's that's great but um there's right i can't wait until she gives if she like that piece of shit then wait until she sees days of future
Starting point is 00:40:02 past oh yeah that's an amazing film i love day's great um oh and the other thing i put up today was the um the Crystal Lake reaction. Oh, nice. Sadie and I watched episodes one and two. That one's going to be, so for people who are going to be asking, I'm going to see how it does, and if it doesn't do well,
Starting point is 00:40:20 then we're just going to watch it at home because we really enjoy watching it. Really good. Then we'll probably just dive into those Rocky films like we were going to do originally, but she wanted to check it out. I'm hoping it's good. Jeff keeps pushing me to watch it.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Crystal Lake? Yeah, yeah. Episodes one and two are really good. Apparently it gets better and better. I really enjoyed it. And I'm not like a, massive Friday the 13th guy, but I respect them. And I, you know, does our childhood kind of growing up in those movies.
Starting point is 00:40:47 So I love the opening, like, even from the graphics and like they, they, even though they, they switch a couple things up in the lore and change things with a couple of years and things too. Because I think originally the original movie Jason Drowns in like 57 and then, and then he, all the shit happens in like 78. but this happens, I think, within a year. I think he drowns in like 77, and then all the shit starts going down, like 70s, something like that. And they add more backstory to it. I think that they, did you watch Carrie? No, I still haven't gotten to carry either,
Starting point is 00:41:21 which would probably be this week. That was the other thing. So, and this is going to, this is going to be a blasphemous take. This is going to be blasphemous for a lot of people. Okay. Maybe even to you as well. So I watched, and it probably shouldn't have done it this way.
Starting point is 00:41:35 My daughter's yelling at me from doing it this way as well. I watched the scene. series, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. It's very different from what people say about the book and everything. And I know this is because my daughter has now read the book 87 times and tells me about all the different things that are not accurate about the TV show. But then she's like, I want you to watch the 76 movie with me. Oh, if you're watching this for the first time today, it is a very dated movie.
Starting point is 00:42:03 It does not hold up if you're watching it for the first time. How dare you? If you're watching it for the first time. If you're watching, if you have seen it a million times in the same way that I can watch Flash Gordon over and over and over again because I remember seeing it as a kid going, this is amazing. If I watched it for the first time today, but the opening scene and just like, ah! And there's this stupid scene with the with the, with the principal. And she walks in, the guy starts calling her, what's he calling her, Cindy or something? And then the teacher has to keep telling, no, it's Carrie.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Five seconds later. This imbecile calls her Cindy again or whatever he calls. It's like, come on, you stupid idiot. We get it. She's not memorable. We get it. But it's like, come on. It's like that's like, I hate shit like that.
Starting point is 00:42:49 It's like it. And but it, it was a product of its time. It's 1976. But it was, and even the, it played like a comedy to me. Mr. De Palma. I have a Christian Arloff.
Starting point is 00:43:01 I love the Palm. I love Scarface. I mean, I love the Palm. Didn't he do Coralito's way too? Yes, he did. I love those. Great.
Starting point is 00:43:08 I love those movies, but I'm just saying, I, Mel said I chose violence today. I'm telling you, but you guys have seen that movie a million times over. And so it worked, like, you watch it. It plays like a comedy. It plays like a comedy. I know it's a hot take. I know, but like I told my daughter, I go, I think about it.
Starting point is 00:43:26 I think there is humor in the movie for sure. But I know, but I do think the horror element of it all overwhelms at all. Maybe. I got to go. I got to. I got to check. Maybe I'll finish it because, like, I was just like, I turned my daughter. I'm like, I think I'm out.
Starting point is 00:43:40 And she goes, she goes, you know everybody loves this movie. I know. I saw it way too late. And I did, and I end, I saw it after watching a really great television show. That's modern and it's shot modern. Everybody seems real. Everybody seems real in it. It seems like, but I will say, I was happy to see. RoboCubes and RoboCop's partner.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Yeah, yeah. Nancy, was it, Nancy Allen? Nancy Allen. And then Mrs. Poole from, and also, uh, what's her face from Ferris Bueller? Grace. Grace. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Even McClurek. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She was, she's in it too. So I got to, I got to finish it out. I got to finish it out. Her mom is Piper Lorry, who is the, in the hustler. She's Paul Newman's, she's the woman in the hustler, who is the female lead in the hustler. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:29 She's an awesome actress. It's a great cast. And it's just, look, it is a, I bet you in 1976 into the late 80s. Even the, even the, way the movies were, this before Star Wars. So movies, movies were produced and seen very differently. And like the amount of, like, I've just
Starting point is 00:44:46 seen so many movies and so many things that like, that things, their, their performances are different. Other things are different. You know, but, and then the muse after. Oh, but, uh, anyway. So that's where I stand on that. I know that I'm on
Starting point is 00:45:02 an island all by myself. I am not, I, I am not going to pretend that there's other people going, oh yeah, I'm with you. Clearly, my, my daughter is, it was, she really wants me to finish the movie with her and I, and I will. Other thing, you couldn't finish, another reason I couldn't finish,
Starting point is 00:45:21 or couldn't even start the damn thing, Bush galore when you start the damn movie, it's like, oh yeah, the fact that it starts off and it's just like this over-sexualized, it's like the 1970s, you're like, what, what are we doing here? The Palma's, De Palma had a thing he had to work out in the 70s and early 80s about sex for sure before he got to the untouchables because there's none of that.
Starting point is 00:45:45 The intouchables or Carlito's way, you know, so yeah. Anyway, all right. We talked about, I don't know if we even discussed Peter Claffey, but I think that we're on board that he's right. Yeah, we're both on board. He's great. Oh, I will talk about this because I saw you tweet about this last night. And as I was watching and I saw someone tweeting him. about it and we'll or not tweeting about but i saw somebody put a super chat about it so we'll
Starting point is 00:46:11 definitely talk about that great giants win yesterday hey that was good stuff watching that up about that it was i mean look they're piecing it together the giants big upset they're two touchdown underdogs and they're piecing it together man they're piecing it together with i mean they're using they don't even have it's not even dart you know um no j j j j might yeah j j j might be the answer he might be the guy so um but anyway I saw that they played, I think, the night before they played the, oh, was it during the base? I think it was during the World Series, actually, that they played the doomsday spot. Oh, yeah, the doomsday spot.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Yeah, so this to me plays a little bit. I saw the doomsday spot. This reminded me of the Mandalorian and Groguet thing in a certain. I mean, there was a little bit more footage, I guess, but I don't understand what the strategy was for this. There's a new spot in the wake. Oh, this is. Okay, so there was a new spot after this. This is a spot that came out.
Starting point is 00:47:10 I did not watch this one. In the wake of yesterday's World Series deep spot, Marvel Studios released another 30-second spot, but some moments not seen in the trailer is the biggest inclusion, the existential Paul Rhodes Captain America joke. Oh, no, wait, did I see this? Maybe this is a spot comes as speculation is growing over which characters won't make it out alive in the film,
Starting point is 00:47:26 the lack of screen time for certain characters. Yeah, that's just going to be, you know, people just speculate. In the film, beloved heroes from three distinct universe will be set on deadly collision course, ultimately faced an existential threat, unlike anything they've ever seen for. So let's start, John, with the World Series spot, right? Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:44 I think that they realized real quick, oops. Yeah. And then they put this thing out because there was like, it was, who was it, Bryce? Harper. Bryce Harper was that, and getting the baseball players to do spots and going back and forth of the combining it with Doomsday. And it was, it just was so cheesy and like pretty terrible. I thought it was terrible as well.
Starting point is 00:48:06 I was like, what are you doing? It was pretty terrible. Which is what I think I tweeted out. Yeah, pretty terrible. Didn't, wasn't a fan of that. But then I actually did see, did see this. And I thought it was a, you know, good little spot. I think, I think it's
Starting point is 00:48:19 pretty well known that there's going to be a lot of people eating shit in this movie. Yeah. Yeah. I think Ant Man's toast. This is the last time I'm ever going to see it. Possibly. Possibly. I mean, this is, but what do you think about the controversy over the spot? Like, a lot of people, some people were upset that his
Starting point is 00:48:36 joke at Captain America to Captain America Sam Mackey. Sam, sorry, Sam Wilson, Anthony Mac, Sam Wilson's expense was in poor taste. And other people were like, no, this was funny. And it became a whole thing. I'm on board with it being funny. It's like attack the controversy head on and play and have fun with it and make it a thing where Sam kind of gives him the eyes like, that's my spot. And then he says, because he goes, cap, cap, cap.
Starting point is 00:49:03 It's like, give me break. It's like, it's the same thing when people just get. getting pissy about every joke. Let, let, let, if, if the cast plays a joke on it and it has a joke, well, but he's hired to do it. Anthony Macky's in a position now that he's been here long ago. Yeah. If he didn't want to do it, he can say, I'm not doing that joke.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Ain't a fucking wallflower. I hate to break it to you guys. That he's not, he's not just like hired on anymore. He's got, he's got say in it. And if you didn't feel like, I don't know about doing this. Yeah. He could say it or he'd have his team say, I don't want to do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:31 And he did it. It's like, who, there's controversy for everything now. I hate it. I hate it. Controverses for everyone. No, I don't. Yeah, I didn't understand. Because like, if you look at the context of Ant Man, remember when we first introduced, he's like so blown away by Steve Rogers as Captain America. He's a fan boy. Yes. So he would naturally instinctually think the cap is Steve Rogers. Like he just would naturally do that because that's how he thinks. And he's not. And he called him that. He's like, thank you. Captain America was doing that the whole time in Civil War. Right. Exactly. And so when he sees and then Mackey just gives him the look and he adjusts. And then the extended. And then the extended. shot is uh what's his face uh white russell going you know i was captain america for a little bit and then he goes captain america's you know so it's it's played for a very funny moment so people getting so upset about this i mean they're not trying to denigrate sam at all at all it's it's it's it's it's where it's again why social media sometimes like sometimes
Starting point is 00:50:29 people can fight the right fight and sometimes they fight the wrong wrong fight and that's the wrong fight that's the right that's right right right Um, so anyway, I think that the, but in the end, did it do anything? Christian, I did it do anything to get people? Yeah. First of all, I don't think it hurt it and I don't think it got anything else to. I think what it maybe did. I actually think it did more positive than negative.
Starting point is 00:50:54 I don't like the, the World Series spot. Yeah. But my dad's aware of the movie now. You know what I mean? He knows the movie's coming out. What's this? What's this thing? It's a new, new Avengers thing?
Starting point is 00:51:06 I was watching a World Series. What's that? So that worked. You know? Yeah. Now, didn't mean that he thinks it looks like the best thing he's ever seen. No, I don't know what the hell's going on. But he knows that it's coming out. And maybe that's what the intent was. And maybe to compare it to the Mandelaar and Grogu Beer thing wasn't actually,
Starting point is 00:51:30 or Carthin, whatever that thing was, that wasn't accurate. Because in that stupid thing, they didn't even show anything from the movie, really. this daily show scenes from the movie i don't i don't like any of this though you don't think it serves the purpose because there's there's a star wars thing coming for the super bowl with starfighter and all this stuff that's different that's different though i i i know i'm with you but i but that that's different they've done certain that that that is not that that's like a thing where they're like reenacting plays or other things too and they're using the characters themselves um that's not a direct ad for starfighter right like that's what the that's the problem i have
Starting point is 00:52:05 have a mandolin grogue it was a direct ad for that movie and that when you needed to get people into the theater and you you're trying well everyone loves grogoo it's so cute let's put him on a horse and put sam elliott's voice in there it's like no yeah that is the stupid that was one of the dumbest marketing things that star wars could have done especially when you're trying to get excitement for that movie um this isn't that the star wars thing this is just a fun thing outside i initially i had the same reaction john but then when i really looked into what it is they it's not that it's something completely different now if they show starfight and then have Ryan Gosling, you know, playing croquet, you going,
Starting point is 00:52:39 oh, you know what? Then it's like, what the hell are you doing? Where's the movie? What's the movie about? I don't, I feel like they're going to learn from the mistake this time around. I hope so. When he picks up that ball, starts throwing it to Amy Adams and wide receiver, and we'll see if they've learned that lesson or not.
Starting point is 00:52:55 I know. We shall see. I'm trying to see if we should do one more story and we have because right now, we're starting a week. You got 13 questions as we're going into the- 13. 13. Come on guys.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Slower today, too. We're going to see. Now we're back on track. Everybody to notice if people were wondering who won last week, I gave everybody the bonus last week because not everybody was coming in to get paid for the, to do the live stream for me. They were coming in for the kindness through their heart to help me promote it. And I said, look, it's not going to be fair because it's a long stream anyway.
Starting point is 00:53:23 And it was Chris Carr's day. Obviously, that show is going to do the most as far as monetarily. So everybody came in and everybody got a bonus. So now this week, we're back on track and everybody's going to try to do. get that win. So John Roker right now really stands at 13. And we'll see. He's been, he did pretty good last week. Nonetheless. So
Starting point is 00:53:42 let's get to maybe one last story. Oh yeah. I want to talk about this Xbox story. Yeah, yeah. I thought that was interesting. We'll discuss that. We'll get to a few more. So check it out. Okay. All right. So
Starting point is 00:53:58 this is something that came up as regarding Netflix and Xbox. Xbox turns down a $500 million offer. Wow. So Netflix reportedly offered Microsoft 500 million for a seven-year deal that would allow the streaming giant to adapt shows and films about Xbox characters. Puck broke the news indicating that Microsoft responded with an offer for 800 million.
Starting point is 00:54:26 As a result, the deal has reportedly fallen through. In a statement to Puck, Xbox said we have received record-breaking interest in our ID. Netflix is a valued partner and we are excited for the forthcoming release of our Minecraft and Diablo animated series together, among other adaptations. Microsoft is now said to be in pursuit of smaller deals with more partners doing things on a case-by-case base rather than an overarching exclusivity deal. Microsoft previously partnered with Paramount to produce the live-action Halo. We're trained for two seasons. They currently have a call-a-duty film in the works at Paramount, a third season of follow-out at Amazon, and a sequel to a Minecraft movie opening next. year. Titles like Years of War, Elder Scrolls, and Sea of Thieves are also being pitched for possible
Starting point is 00:55:10 adaptations. Netflix's various works based on games coming out, including the animated cyberpunk edge runners, which returned this week. I'm, I don't know where I stand on this story. Okay. Because like part of me goes, that's cool. Do do a big deal with Netflix and maybe if if Netflix is now doing maybe maybe the thought process is, okay, look, you guys can give us $500 million dollars to do this. But we know now that you guys are doing more theatrical releases. You've got to be putting more things in the theater. And what if we give you one of the, what if you do a Halo movie and it does $800 million and it does almost a billion dollars? That's, we're going to get screwed at that one because it's like we get, we do you do 800 million.
Starting point is 00:55:56 We just got 500 million. Then you're going to do a whole bunch of other other IPs outside of it. And what if those do? If you start to put them in the, in the, in the theater. maybe we want 700 million. I don't think that's a crazy ask inside of that. The other side of it is, well, you know, Netflix is paying it. You can do it for seven years or maybe you do 500 for five years. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:56:17 But the other side is maybe they made the right decision. They're like, look, we've got enough interest in people wanting to do. I just hope that they actually redo Halo because that show is the sheds. I want them to do like an actual movie on Halo or stick true to the original game. I love that game. It's one of my favorite games. And see what they can do with these other studios. And because there is interest. I believe there's interest.
Starting point is 00:56:43 And you also have maybe people who want to make TV shows out of it. So they don't necessarily, it's not like they're going bankrupt. They don't necessarily need a studio. So maybe this is the right plan. I don't know. Where do you say it? Yeah. I mean, I think also Netflix right now is a bit of a wounded, wounded animal, right? And so why would you want to attach your brand to numbers that going down. They're going into
Starting point is 00:57:04 a massive change from leaving Dan Lynn and Bella Lagosa. Belabobo, yes, Belabajara, Bella Bajara. Bella Bajaria. They're moving away from both of them and they're bringing in Tim Rice and they're bringing in possibly Abdeen DeLuca.
Starting point is 00:57:23 So there's a lot of transition or Peter Rice, rather, not Tim Rice. That's a composer and Lurzis. But they're making a lot of transition here. And so do you want to attach show a massive brand to Netflix that could damage your brand in the way they put out.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Plus, a lot of people complain about the quality of Netflix movies and some of their TV shows in terms of an overall look and aesthetic. So do you really want to be trapped in a deal with them and basically be and remember they ran off the original avatar people who
Starting point is 00:57:55 created Avatar over creative differences because Netflix likes to put their hands and in everything and change it their executives, love to change everything, and they usually drive off the original creators. And so that to me is, I think, a dangerous thing for Xbox. So I think it's smart that they go, like, we're going to take it on a case-by-case basis,
Starting point is 00:58:13 and we're going to do what's best for each of the IPs individually. And so, yeah, I think that's smart for them. I think it probably makes the most sense right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you could get, I don't think they blew it. You know, it's like one of these things where you're like, oh, no, they could have got $500 million. Oh, they're screwed.
Starting point is 00:58:31 No one else wants their stuff. we took a shot at 700 million. They said no. So we're going to take it somewhere else. It's like, yeah, Xbox isn't hurting. I think they had the power chips in this particular deal and they used them correctly. I think it was right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:45 Yeah. All right. What do you guys think? Agree? Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. We're going to get to the questions. It might be a shorter show today.
Starting point is 00:58:53 Maybe it's not. Who knows? We'll see. But we're going to start with John Roker. Tell us about what the hell's going on this week on the John Roker channel. Come on. It's, uh, wait, so the John Roker channel, head on over there, YouTube.com slash John Roker. There's so much happening on my channel here. You know, you got the hot mic, you know, you got the geek buddies, you know you got spill the tequila. Although we are off this week because Winston is traveling. So it'll be the, there'll be a separate show tomorrow night. Perhaps I will drive up. I'll get my druthers up and drive up to L.A. tomorrow for Godzilla, M. Zero and do an out of theater reaction for that. But certainly we got all that going on here on the channel this week, also my reactions and reviews. And, uh, some other surprises.
Starting point is 00:59:32 coming down the bike on the channel as well. I think you all will be excited about. So head on over there. And of course, we started part one of Captain America Civil War on the Cinephiles. For those who download that podcast, Shannon McClung, GeekBudy Shannon McClung was our special guest for that one. So yeah, I don't know there too. Boom.
Starting point is 00:59:48 All right. Well, let's get to some of these questions. Come on, guys. Keep me on the air for another hour. Let's go. Send in your questions. Sammy. Sammy's been so great.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Sammy reached out. I'm doing something with Sammy soon. But I just haven't had the, with everything kind of going on with the Kickstarter. My schedule's been to shit, so we're trying to figure out the time in an interview with Sammy. Happy Monday, thank you, Sam. Do you guys think it's now a three-horse race for Best Picture of the Oscars between the Odyssey, Project Hill-Merry, and you can see everything? You say no, John. You're shaking your head. Yeah, I would say no, because you're not factoring in Dune 3. And if Dune 3 comes out and blows the doors off what people were expecting,
Starting point is 01:00:27 and for those of us who've seen the first seven minutes that they showed at CinemaCon and they've showed at other iMac screenings. That is insane and phenomenally epic. So I think if they nail it, this could be a return of the king situation where De Nia has shown that for three installments, he's brought what would normally have been a very unadaptable movie to life. Right. And created many masterpieces in each of them, in my opinion. And if the third one comes out and he blows away the first two, that absolutely is in play for best picture. I think the only thing that could beat the Odyssey right now is Dune 3 in my opinion. Do you think that you can see everything is going to be the first documentary ever nominee?
Starting point is 01:01:07 I think it's a very, very strong possibility for two reasons. One, because it's a very good, unusual documentary. And you would argue that it becomes a little bit of a theatrical feature in the back half of the movie. And two, I do think it's kind of a weaker year for movies. So I think it can get in there as one of the 10 nominees for sure. So with that being said, do you think Obsession has a chance? No. I don't think, I hate to break it to everybody, but I think Obsession is going to be shut out of everything.
Starting point is 01:01:36 Backrooms is going to be shut out of everything. Michael is going to be shut out of everything. Right. I just, I just feel like those films are not going to break through. I think Obsession's got a shot. Okay. I think it's got a shot. All right, Nathan Drake, while it was great, but the visuals are masterful.
Starting point is 01:01:54 All sets were handcrafted and looks amazing. I hope Travis Knight does more of these. The only problem with them not, the only problem with them doing more is it just seems to be a loss of funds. Not if they don't make money. I know. Exactly. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:02:06 he's not going to get to do more of these that they don't make money. I know. It's a bummer. And that one I was going to, well, I was going to last, yesterday I was going to take my little one to go see it. But then I looked and it's like,
Starting point is 01:02:16 it's not, they said it's not really appropriate. Oh, oh, yeah, he's a little dark because also talks about, yeah, mental health and suicide. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:02:23 so I think that for, you know, it might be one for, for my oldest. Wiley, there he is. Wiley, I'm going to start working, transferring some of these songs over today, my man,
Starting point is 01:02:34 because I was thinking about you this weekend. Roka, did you start reading the Michael Douglas book? Oh, there you go. I'm on chapter five currently. Yeah. Where are you? What chapter is that? I'm on page 89.
Starting point is 01:02:47 That's how far I've got. I don't know what chapter is. Is it pretty good? Yeah, it's excellent. Dude, that guy doesn't hold back. And that's why I got the book. He never held back. That's what made him so great.
Starting point is 01:02:57 That's true. I know. You're right. You're right. I think the best part in when you really, the first aunt man in that flashback scene, like, first of all, probably still some of the best deep fake stuff that they've done. When he punches that guy in the nose and the stuff that he says, like, that was the most, like, to me, it was like, oh, they really, I don't think Michael Douglas knew that he was acting
Starting point is 01:03:20 right there. They just picked him up in his house, slapping some guy in the nose. It just seemed like everything. thing, yeah. You know who does a pretty good? I mean, this isn't going to surprise anybody, but you know who does a pretty good Michael Douglas is Jamie Costa. Oh yeah, no surprise. That's a great. All right, pal. I can't. I can't, I can't pretend to, but he does it. Pal. Okay, Casey G. I usually don't like fully packed theaters, but you can see me everything. It's my top three theater experiences this year. The crowd reactions are great. Wow. You got to see
Starting point is 01:03:49 this in the theater, huh? I get, yeah, you've got to. You've got to. It's kind of a mind-blowing experience. I'm taking Lady Outlaw on Halloween because we're not going to hand out candy this year. We've been doing it every year. We're kind of exhausted by it. So we're going to go and have dinner and go see the movie. You're going to leave anything on your porch? Or you're just going to?
Starting point is 01:04:06 Yeah, yeah. I'll leave two big bowls and put a sign that says, please just take two. You always get those assholes that don't do that, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Every year, like, I had one year. I had one year when I was like, oh, no one's going to do. And these asshole teenagers came up.
Starting point is 01:04:19 And, of course, they took a hole. I chased the kids down the street. You did? Yeah. The baseball bat or? No, no, no. Because I had just gotten back with my kids. And I go, come on.
Starting point is 01:04:31 Yeah. What are you doing? He's like, oh, it took one. I go, I got a ring camera guy. It's 2000 and times it 223 or something. Come on, what are you doing? So then we put it back? I go, no, just don't do that.
Starting point is 01:04:42 He's like, all right, I'm sorry. I'm like, you're not. You're probably going to do it in two houses from now. But I was like, I'm tired and I'm going to just yell into the wind. People are really good because they, because it's a young. Yeah. people's area. And so parents come with their kids to trick or treat almost all the time. So hopefully they'll be good with that. Yeah. David Drodea. RIP to Eric Bazo. Yeah, I saw this today.
Starting point is 01:05:06 Sadd, he's young, dude, like 46 years old. Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck just want to say this because he was a fellow Canadian. Yeah, I saw that. It was really, really bummed to hear that because he was, I mean, from everything that I saw, I mean, I never met him or spoke with him, but I just have heard really wonderful things about them. I don't know what happened or anything in general, but 46 years old is super, super young. Yeah. They shared the cause. It was hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
Starting point is 01:05:40 This is from the LA County Medical Examiner's Office this morning and other specific conditions listed were sleep apnea and class two obesity. But they said it was a natural death. you know but you gotta take care of yourselves man you gotta take care of his close yeah you know christin and i making adjustments in our lives it's one of the reasons i did it you know it's it's no not funny but um i've been seeing a lot of clips on like the sopranos popping up oh yeah you know gandiflini was only he's only 51 years old when he passed off yeah it's 51 he was john candy yeah he was he was not taking care of himself um and like that you i just saw documentaries and like that role just really mentally because they they asked him on
Starting point is 01:06:22 one point like you do a like that you go how do you how do you handle it coming out of a scene like what do you do you drink and it's just he was and it just was that was a mentally taxing role of that for that long and and he was and everything else you saw about him no generous he was and all these other things but john's right this is mental that's why i tried to tell people and why roxy was the one who said to me because i had said at one point i'm like i don't want to post these pictures i feel like it's more like a vanity shield goes, no, she's like, you should do it because you never know who you're going to inspire. And I have done that because I was like, and people have, and I don't know if people
Starting point is 01:07:01 have stuck with it or not, people have said, like, you know, I saw those posts and I saw all these things and I heard what you said and I got myself in there. I started doing it. That's why I think what Kevin Smets does is so important, where he talks about his, his journey through, and to make sure you always get checked and always, get scanned and as we're getting older because we think, I'm all right. There's nothing. I haven't coughed in a bit.
Starting point is 01:07:27 I'm, I'm all right. And it's like you just got to, you got to pay attention. You got to try to keep yourself healthy. Yeah, but rest in peace, man, to a great talent, 46.
Starting point is 01:07:36 100%. 100%. Um, okay. So again, I want to give a shout out to our friends over at rendezvous, both J.C. Rifenberg and,
Starting point is 01:07:46 and Derek and both executive producers on trending. And we're going to be doing stuff with them. the, we're shooting the Shmowdown there. Then for people who are going to be asking a million times over, when does Smodown come back? It's like, it's in the beginning of the year is when we're aiming for it. Trending is our responsibility first.
Starting point is 01:08:05 When we're locked up with trending and finish trending, then we get into Shmodown pre-production. So just for people, it's going to happen. So just be just- June? Do you think in June? I'd say anywhere between the April to June area. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:17 I got, I mean, we even had our first pre-production meeting now that, we know the trending is 100% going forward. So we have to do that first and figure out. Now we get into casting and everything else too. So I am two-fly cam. Really enjoyed play face. I was nervous after Roka review dropped. It was a dark twisted tail in Gotham.
Starting point is 01:08:37 Even my lady liked it, eight out of ten. I think I went like seven. I think it was like seven, seven and a half. That's what's kind of where I was at. We're not always going to agree. No. No. Am I dying?
Starting point is 01:08:47 What's going on my lighting? X factor 17. Man enough to admit, I was wrong. Giants beat the Texas. It was a good game. My team absolutely stinks right now. But it was a good game. It was a good game. Yeah. D'emico's not coming back next year, bro. If you guys don't make the playoffs, Domingo's gone. I know sadly. I like him as a coach too. Yeah. He's gone. He's gone. Hey, where you been? He's back. He's been gone for months.
Starting point is 01:09:12 Yeah. Back. Comic lover is back. And he's back and our, on our boy, Hollywood Ron H is is off the grid oh no what happened I don't know I haven't heard from him nothing it's comic lovers coming back and take his place Scott Harowitz haven't seen confirmed reports but it's kind of shared Walter Coney pass oh what was that what really looking hold on hold on oh no I'm looking oh yeah variety could posted it 30 minutes ago oh no oh no I didn't say oh shoot okay yeah October 20 yesterday so they're just
Starting point is 01:09:51 90 years old yeah long long long life um shoot farewell checkoff thank you for letting us know scott damn yeah yeah's our friend i know rookie harrow went to an advanced screening of i played rocky last name was incredible a loving homage to stalone in his masterpiece i must see for any
Starting point is 01:10:12 rocky fan that's pretty much roca said too and is that a at theater, right? So it's... Yeah. And you said it's not really an impression. You just become sly, right? It just does become sly. Yes, absolutely. I think if you're going to see a really epic exploration of the Rocky creation, you might be a little disappointed. This is a fair, you know, this is Peter Farrelly. So, you know, he moves fast and loose. But the emotion he hits really well, and the performance is all across the board. Anna Sophia Robb is his girlfriend.
Starting point is 01:10:41 Matt Dillon is fucking great. Is he? Okay. Yeah. Okay. God, he's so great as Stallone's dad. And you get the window into the stuff that Stallone endured from his dad growing up that he talks about in his book. And he's talked about in his documentary and Netflix. And so I thought they did a really nice job of bringing the world of Stallone to life before they brought the world of Rocky to life. And so, yeah. And I believe it was great. Just so great, man.
Starting point is 01:11:04 Yeah, I can't wait. Oh, my name's Mike. Alexander Wilson, don't forget that Kimberg wrote the last stand. Yeah, I mean, look, we've talked about that. there's there's a lot of things that he wrote and produced that end up in the duty pile but there's other stuff that he that was pretty great he also wrote days of future past so right you know so it's like it and to be fair there are times that a script or ideas from that script could be executed by a director and it could be excellent and then there's times that could be by another director that turns out terrible right yeah i wouldn't trust the script in brett rat ratner's hands ever. He was not the right choice for that. In that time period, that's the time he was making movies and they thought that would be a good
Starting point is 01:11:49 idea. I will say, I do like the family man. Yeah, I like Family Man as well. I was really surprised by that one from Ratner. I love that. I love that movie. It must have been in between Coke binges because it's very touching and warm. You love the Coke binge. Allegedly.
Starting point is 01:12:06 Yeah, allegedly. No, I love Family Man, dude. That's a Christmas stable. I'll never forget my dad laughing, like a legit LOL, where we were sitting in the theater watching that movie and Nicholas Cage talking to the dog. He's like, if you could take a dump sometime this century, that would be great. My dad thought it was the funniest thing ever. The dog's just waiting. Come on, let's go. Let's go. Alexander Wilson, there's discourse that Jerry Seinfeld said that Bernie Mac was the greatest in a comedian of all time and that Eddie Murphy disagreed thoughts.
Starting point is 01:12:37 well I mean it's subjective in someone who's been on the scene I think I think Bernie Mac was brilliant and maybe inside of Jerry's uh the way the Jerry crafts jokes and the way Jerry sees things and the way maybe clubs that he did with them that he saw him handle clubs certain certain ways of comediancy and he's that and he just feels that way and on a mechanical level and and just the way that he dealt with it that's his opinion I don't agree with that statement I think Bernie Mac was awesome yeah but but I'm in the cliche thing of you if you put prior in there, if you put George Carlin in there, you can switch them up for me. It's Carlin. Carlin, to me, is the best of all time. But if someone said prior, if someone said,
Starting point is 01:13:22 shit, someone said Lenny Bruce. So that to me makes, someone said Dave Chappelle with you want to go more modern. Like I could see people going back and forth. I but it's it's personal preference and he performed with Bernie a lot you know so right so I don't know that that's I also think there's two different things isn't it Christian like Bernie was a stand-up for his entire career right yes he did the TV show but like Bernie was a veteran right whereas Eddie came in as a young man young kid like in his early teens becoming a stand-up learning then
Starting point is 01:13:59 went to superstardom with those two specials and then so like Eddie had a a very short run as a notable stand-up, whereas Bernie had years. And so I think Jerry looks at it from a technical point of view that Bernie was the better stand-up. And did the club for the state with it. Yeah. Well, no, I don't, but I don't think, I don't think that this, they're saying, and correct me if I'm wrong, Alexander, I don't think he's saying that Bernie was better than
Starting point is 01:14:25 Eddie. I think he was saying that Bernie was the best of all time. And Eddie Murphy said, I don't agree with that assessment. I think that's what he's saying here. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah. that's the case because I don't think he's saying yeah because I don't know that Eddie would ever weigh in on this Eddie's not all those people that would yeah I'm not sure I mean come on hit the guy was good I saw him never create a crowd in three in the morning what you do tell us leave all right yeah Robin Williams you can make a case for Robin Williams sure right I've never seen a bad stand up of Robbins never I love watching Robin's performances were I told you this the thing that I've still at this day I'll never see again
Starting point is 01:15:05 because no one can do it outside of him and he was doing this few times when I was at the Comedy Store main room in the Smiths from 2003-2004 he came into the main room and the main room at the Comedy Store was packed it's the it's the big room and it was packed
Starting point is 01:15:21 he refused to use a microphone he didn't use a microphone and he performed without a microphone for two or three nights like basically you know and everybody and you heard him and he he just had bottles all of, I never forget this. One of his many bottles that he used, I had gotten one of them. I'm like, oh, this is going to, this is, this is Rob Williams' performance
Starting point is 01:15:43 bottle. This is amazing. I have my, and my ex-girlfriend got mad at me and throw it out. Son of a bitch. Um, well, you shouldn't have slept with her sister. That I did not do. Um, but I don't know if she was mad at me. She just said, it was, it was messy. And she didn't want this here. I'm like, well, it wasn't, you know, anyway, beat it. Okay. Go Pal, I think I read Carrie first and all of the adaptations have become letdowns. That's how my daughter feels, GoPel. But I did like the series a lot. And I also recall liking the 2002, more than 76. That's funny because again, hearing this from my daughter is that the 2002 one is a fart pile. And then 2012 is the Chloe Moretz one that she said is the best adaptation where they took the, the, the, They took the most from the actual book and put it towards the movie itself. I know. Future, Zykeyes to mention.
Starting point is 01:16:45 Roki approaching 30 now. I'm getting to 20. Nice. Come on. Let's go. Christian and John. The first episode of my animated musical, speaking of Flash G, I think you guys would like the intro I sample, the Flash Gordon theme song.
Starting point is 01:16:57 Ep, one battle for Vermillion. It sounds cool. Oh, it sounds fun. Flash. Caldowski would like that. He's a big flesh, Gordon fan. He sure is. Let's see.
Starting point is 01:17:09 So, I want to bring up real quick, as I was mentioning from Rondevous, and I was talking to me and our executive producer. So they are actually running a WeFunder campaign, which ends on October 31st, which has a lot of cool perks. And they said there's, and we already mentioned that we're doing the Shmowdown at Rendezoo. And they have a booth at the L.A. Comic-Con on October 30th to November 1st. So people want to go by and you want to check out things that are happening at Ronevue, you can go and check it out.
Starting point is 01:17:38 And Derek said he's decided to meet you, Roka. Oh, nice. That's very kind of Derek. He'll be at the, he'll be at the, um, the tapis, obviously for it. Is it something I said or is he legitimately excited like it? No, he is. No, he watches the show a lot. And speaking of our other.
Starting point is 01:17:55 Hey. Derek, who helped us with the campaign tremendously is DJ. Thank you, DJ. The original cheese balls became a, member. Well, that's good to become a member today because you can check it. If you want to watch the stand-up set that I did on October 8th from governors in Long Island, you can, you can check it out. There you go. Sorry, Ed Howell. Joey Pedrus, enjoyed Clayface more than I thought I would. Yeah, same. Logan Dickinson, five jewels, go team. Thank you. 28 Vasco. Hey, guys, today is the big
Starting point is 01:18:24 40-oh. Hey. Hey. Congratulations and happy birthday. Looking forward to the next 40. Hell yeah. Thank you guys for allowing me to enjoy let my freak flag fly let it fly let it fly let it fly I do want to I think that what I want to do is when we do the Harlov Productions logo I'm going to have big balls pop up and go play a little perfect yeah guys it's no it isn't this is this this is a Fernand the Fernandez a Kalinowski joke guys it's pronounced Charles Melaton a freaking Kalanowski got me with that one. I'm like, it's Melton. He goes, no, it's Melit's one. I'm like, what?
Starting point is 01:19:05 He's like, yeah, yeah, it's melons. And he's laughing his ass off as he, is his, it's Calinowski's birthday today, by the way. It's my birthday over the weekend, by the way. Thank you for seeing me. Thank you. Happy birthday. I did. And I sent one to Kalinowski as well. 35. Oh, yeah. That's a lot. My choice, I think we'll get more movies like Wildwood. Tracks Nice is the son of Phil Knight. He can afford to blow his money in movies like while would he want to if he'd be if he realizes that i mean look i get that it's a passion but i think that if he doesn't but if he knows it's not making money i don't think Travis is is dope what he did say
Starting point is 01:19:42 which i thought was great yeah was um he was honest and he said listen i don't think there is going to be a master's universe too right now he's like that could change yeah yeah yeah there's no conversations about it and i think that was honest now he's going to do it um Derek also wants me to ask you as he's texting me while we're doing. Would you ask Roca if he's interested in having any of his live shows or any shows from Rondeva? Would love to. Yes, let's set it up.
Starting point is 01:20:13 I would love a geek buddy's live show. That would be amazing. And Jeff as well, so maybe a geek buddy's hot mic live show or two separate shows. I'll connect you. Let's do it. Jalen Turner. Well, I want to address Mike Joyce's comment real quick. Mike Joyce, the difference between those of us who are on the ground floor of money
Starting point is 01:20:29 and people like Phil Nidal, they don't piss away their money. That's why they stay rich. So this idea that you think he's got money to piss away, that's not how rich people think. It is so true. Rich people are rich.
Starting point is 01:20:41 They are not rich because they don't like to spend money. Exactly. Exactly. Everyone always said it's so true. Like rich people, you know, they can do this, they can do that. They stay rich because they don't spend their money.
Starting point is 01:20:53 They invest in on some stuff here and there and then they're ruthless. Yeah, and they find other ways. Rich people are the ones who are always trying to it free stuff. Exactly. Yeah. Jalen Turner. Just wanted to say I'm happy to be a part of your trending journey. Thank you, Jeline. I'm excited that you're part of it. I can't wait to see the outlaw again. Can't wait to see the pilot. Thank you for always making my day. How nice is that? Thank you. Jalen. That was very kind. Coming, Jaylin. Get ready, motherfucker.
Starting point is 01:21:17 It's going to be, well, and I think that that is the thing, apparently, and I have to double-cheting. You know what? Let me, let me find out if this is true. I'm going to, I'll, I'll type it and say it at the same time. Hey, Craig, question if a new backer wanted to get those exclusive schmodeown live taping tickets, are they still available? Now, that's a good question. Oh, that's a good question. That's a good question. Then I know what to say to people if they're like, again, those things are still available. I know that there were only like six left. Nathan Drake. I'm reading that Clayface needs 75 million to 120 to break even, including the marketing cost of theater splits.
Starting point is 01:22:03 You think it makes that much? I think, I don't think 120 is, is, I don't think they put as much marketing in there as, is, is that. And plus with breaks and stuff, I think, I think, it's more like, what John was saying, I think more like 90 to 100 is probably the goal to, to break even. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:23 And I think 75 is at the minimum, what it needs to. make to be considered a remote success yeah in my opinion 75 at least yeah mr. I crap and shits even in Cleveland it's hard to say for for first place Cleveland Browns you know they'd be Pittsburgh again it it'll get easier you can say what you want I mean like you know again I don't really a lot of the times especially some of the stupid shitty sitting of Shailene Woodley hair watch is playing pretty good right now don't think I don't know you don't think he's playing good? Oh, Rogers? At Rogers. Yeah, he played well to beat
Starting point is 01:22:59 the Saints. I mean, let's see him against some good teams. I know. He's playing, he's, like, he says some dushy things and it's kind of, but he's playing, he's playing good ball right now. Roe Smith would love to see Paul Preston show up during the 16 man tourney as an NWO style
Starting point is 01:23:15 educator, promising invasion, but all he can get is wit. Those guys are so underratedly funny. I know, Preston and Witter great. They're so underrated. and how funny and and pun intended witty they are um they i was on their show and we were doing we were going or we were talking about 42 for like their marathon harrison four oh yeah yeah the harrison fourth and they just they're just so good they know each other so well because they're such
Starting point is 01:23:42 long-time friends but they're so funny and i would love to use them and i really said that i that i would that that kind of idea of like you know when triple h was trying to invade the wcw with the yeah yeah that kind of idea that kind of idea with him and wit would be great and having them inside of the tournament would have been great i just only had so many spots you know um i love those guys i'm i'm a big i'm a big paul preston and we got to go with people that win matches unfortunately paul paul was one of those guys that he was like he was on the cusp every time he was on the cusp and he was he was on the cusp and he was he was poised to be like the next great big star adam was always the mouthpiece kind of funny and good star wars competitor right
Starting point is 01:24:22 but he was always kind of like the, he was like the fin stock for the two of them, right? Yeah. Paul was the guy. We're like, oh, man, Paul's going to be, Paul's going to be great. And then Paul just couldn't get those, the big wins.
Starting point is 01:24:33 And I was like, damn it. Paul was, Paul had personality at the wazoo. I know. I love Paul. Yeah. He's cool. All right.
Starting point is 01:24:40 The Cinname McKin, have a great week, guys. I take more than one candy. I didn't care. I used to look in your eyes and do it. Don't be like me and ass. Enjoy the day. That's, hey, I like the honesty.
Starting point is 01:24:50 Like the honesty. Um, that's great. All right, let's say. We go to Rob Job 1, Christian and Roker, since Halloween is next weekend. What are you some guys' favorite horror movies, new or old? I would say, look, Winston and Chris just watched it. I think The Conjuring is brilliant. It's one of the one, if not the only, um, a horror movie I've ever given a five out of five to.
Starting point is 01:25:15 Wow. Wow. Okay. All right. Um, I don't know. obviously Exorcist. Obviously, I think the first nightmare at Elm Street is great. The Shining is a great.
Starting point is 01:25:29 The original Halloween, for sure. I mean, if you can bear it, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is an incredible Halloween movie, but I can't only see it once every 10 years. The thing is great. I think the thing is great. Christian finally having seen it. Oh, yeah, a while ago, yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:46 Yeah. What's that Wild Horse Nine? Is that what it's called? Yeah, the Malkovich one? Yeah. All right. Sorry. Not a Halloween movie. No, no, no, no. Okay. Comic lover, there he is.
Starting point is 01:25:59 Hey. Want to thank you doing a program almost three months clean. Oh. And sobering. That's amazing. That's awesome. Big help, oddly enough, obsessed with chocolate now. One day at a time, I thought, hey, chocolate's a good one to be obsessed with. That's the coolest news I've heard all day. Yeah. That's amazing.
Starting point is 01:26:16 Congratulations to you. Stay strong and keep doing what you're doing. that's amazing. I'm glad you're back. I'm sorry for all the cocaine jokes at Brett Ratner's expense. If that triggers you, I apologize. Well, yeah, and I'm sure that won't be the last one. Crashin Coyote, Bix Pledge, all good to go. Thank you, Coyote.
Starting point is 01:26:32 Appreciate that. He sent me a, there's so many people that were so cool on the emails. Like, I got, like, right as we were going down to the wire, there was somebody who had to, they had a significant pledge that they had to move it down. And, but they emailed me. And they told me why. and they told me the situation. I said, that happens. I mean, I get it.
Starting point is 01:26:53 And he felt so bad. I don't feel bad. You told me. And you told me why. You weren't doing it to be spiteful. You weren't it. You did it because you just, you thought you could do this,
Starting point is 01:27:02 but you had to do that. And that to me was enough. And then Coyote wrote me the other day and said, hey, this is going on and this just let you know. And it's not, you don't have to do that. But the fact that you wrote that was really, and other people that wrote and said things.
Starting point is 01:27:15 It was just really kind. And it was just really kind. And it showed like, exactly that. So the good community here. It was, yeah. Joey, happy late birthday, Roca.
Starting point is 01:27:23 Thank you, Joey. Thank you, Joey. A few left is we're winding up. You have more questions for Roca. Come on, guys. Keep me on the air. Send me your questions. Let's get to 50.
Starting point is 01:27:34 If you want to get to 50, you can do it. Danny, I was morbidly obese as a child until I changed my life at the age of 18. Look at that. Lost over 100 pounds and now work as a personal trainer to help others. Your health is your greatest wealth. Life is precious. R.P. Eric Pausa. I mean, that true words could not be said, Dan. It is so true. And, you know, and it's one of the people say, it's like regrets. I don't know if it's a regret, but I think it's one of things if you could do things sooner, I would definitely tell my younger self that, yeah, you have the time to do this and you could do it now. Oh, God. Yeah. If I could tell my younger self to put away rice and potatoes and move more vegetables into my plate and that it would fill you up, I would have done that 30, 40 years ago, you know. And so,
Starting point is 01:28:17 This has been the change for me over the last two years. It's kind of been mind-blowing, you know? Because you're not, because you're doing a strictly on diet right now. Yeah, diet. I don't work out at all. I just do the diet. The working out is the next thing. I'm going to.
Starting point is 01:28:30 Well, you bring rice and potatoes back if you go to the gym. Right, but I don't need to. I don't have a taste for it anymore. That's right. Yeah, for me. I can combine the two. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So.
Starting point is 01:28:40 I don't even eat pizza, bro. Like, I haven't had pizza. Yeah, that's my, that's still my vice. Once and two years. It's still my vice. especially like if it was okay with cutting it out in in LA but like here it's like it's and and the one good news like I said is that Talios does they make their pizzas the same way Italy makes their pizza so it doesn't have that crap that America puts in their stuff yeah uh rain guitar really like
Starting point is 01:29:02 clay face and carlin was the best really was looking forward to trending happy birthday month is roca and Christian and me hey little day it's all thank you ring that's a cool picture too uh Yeah, it's a good, it's a good month, man. It's a good month. And it was, look, it was a great. And I'll look back at it from the Kickstarter, right? It was like, it was the roller coaster of emotions all the way. Right.
Starting point is 01:29:32 Because, like, you get to the one point when you have that just incredible seven days, really great. And then there was like that standstill. And then it was like, it was like, just chugling along, chugging, chugging, and then a big last kind of 48 hours and just the amount of love and support. but it was a lot. It was, I mean, it was, it was a lot.
Starting point is 01:29:49 And it was a lot mentally and everything else, too. But, but, but now, and that's just, that was just the first, like, a little snippet of the phase. Now it's now comes into the, the making it and keeping people updated. And we got to, obviously, as we mentioned with the Schmowdown. And we have the, the four today, the master class, which is still available for people, too. If you, if you haven't signed up for it, the, the master class, um, 40 day YouTube thing that we're going to be started. And I got to get with Luke on that. And when we're going to start putting that out there.
Starting point is 01:30:15 And all these different things. And Craig, Craig's still obviously involved with that. He's going to be kind of managing all this stuff as we're moving along. So we're pretty pumped. Seattle, K.O. Happy birthday to Roca and Kalanowski.
Starting point is 01:30:27 Go Seahawks. Hey, good game last night. Crush them, Chiefs. Jesus. Jay Anderson, I have an interview today for my dream job at Fire Station.
Starting point is 01:30:36 You have an inspiration to me for the last year of hard work. Thank you, your proof that dreams will come true. Just don't quit. Thank you. I mean, I really think that's what it is. It's just a matter.
Starting point is 01:30:45 of what you it's and I was just I just did um cosmic wonder warren show I really like warren he's a really nice guy and I did his show with him and we talked about that and it's just and he asked like well what is and I said just don't give up on yourself that's the main this is a major thing that people do is they give up on themselves and they hear other people and they think that other people is oh well if they think that then that's what it is you've got to you've got to you've got to have whatever thought it is in your head be the one that is the real thought and not not what other people try them in at the end You believe in it.
Starting point is 01:31:16 You should listen to people as far as like conversation and maybe there's some good criticisms and things of that nature. But people telling you what you can and cannot do, you're the only person that can really tell you that. Yeah. Hank Pimp, best supporting actor, Oscar winner, Cody Rhodes. Man, can you imagine? Maybe at the Razies. Maybe at the Razzie.
Starting point is 01:31:37 Ryan S. Ryan S. Another executive producer here, Ryan S. Nick Cage has been filming a post-nuclear apocalypse movie in, By in Stillwater, Minnesota the past months, sounds like ambitious cannibals are the villain. I mean, that sounds like a Nicholas Cage movie. Yeah, it sounds 100% like a Nicholas Cage movie nowadays. Yeah, that's awesome.
Starting point is 01:31:57 When does that John Madden movie come out? I think it's later this year or early next year. I love Nicholas Cage, but no one has sounded less like Madden than Nicholas Cage. He says November 11th. Dude, we're not that far away. He sounds nothing like him. You think Christian Biel's going, what hell did I do? He looks great as others.
Starting point is 01:32:20 When is he not great? Yeah, it's true. When is he not great? You're right. But, but me. Yeah, but man, Nicholas K.2, I love, I don't think that was the right choice. No, not at all. He sounds not even close.
Starting point is 01:32:34 Sounds nothing like him at all. Yeah, yeah. Do you think that rumor is true that he thought he was playing someone else? No. People come over shit all this. Absolutely hilarious. Cadaver, 82, just finished. 1.5 months in jury duty.
Starting point is 01:32:46 Oh my God. We're ultimately a hung jury. Yikes. You guys ever going to jury how to go? I have a great day. That whole process, yeah, is like the worst thing ever because every single person, no one wants to do what society wants you to do and the right thing. Everyone is going, don't pick me, don't pick me, don't pick me. Everyone, right? Everyone's going, don't pick me, don't pick me.
Starting point is 01:33:11 and I have been there for the few days, but I've never been picked. Yeah. I've never been picked. I've been called a few times. Yeah. But I'm going to tell you, Christian. Yeah. You wanted to get picked?
Starting point is 01:33:23 One person who balances the universe is my lady outlaw. Okay. She has tried so hard to get on a jury. Really? Yes. She wants to serve on a jury like, I've never heard of, she is rare. I've never heard of people.
Starting point is 01:33:36 I know. She's obsessed with it. Like she reads articles on how to get on a jury. Like she does explore, like how can I answer the questionnaire so I get chosen? Like it's a whole thing. And so I'm amazed by that because you're right. Like 95% of the population is like,
Starting point is 01:33:50 please don't pick me. Please don't pick me. Yeah. Yeah, that's rare. Comic lover, it's all good roca. I don't blame this notion. She never lied to me. I knew what she was and still danced.
Starting point is 01:34:01 Also gain some weight. Got to lock in. There you go. Eat, find your way to Trader Joe's. Get the dark chocolate if you're going to be obsessed with chocolate. That's true. You can get it with the all.
Starting point is 01:34:11 almonds, but like go explore that. I'd say the red one, and I think there's another darker one that you can get. That's just pure dark chocolate, 72% cacao. Get those. Because if you can develop a taste for that. Staddy does those too. Yeah. Yeah, gaining the way. Yeah. So John,
Starting point is 01:34:27 they listen to you. You're almost only seven away from 50. Hey, come on. Bring it on. Bring it. Let's get to 50, everybody. Come on. Yeah. Okay. Let's go to the next one. And let's see. I want to double check while we're on the air. See how we're doing it. Crystal Lake right now.
Starting point is 01:34:41 Can you do that while I use the rest of real quick? Go ahead. Go ahead. Yes, thank you. Let me do this. Thank you. So I'm looking at the analytics right now. And these things can change.
Starting point is 01:34:51 We've put it up today. But Crystal Lake, not fair and too well, PLD. I'm only about a 3.2 right now. And it's way down from our usual. So we might jump into Rocky instead, watch the rest of it at home. She's going to be upset, though. At least you don't need to go guilty. ads anymore.
Starting point is 01:35:13 Well, no, you know, I wouldn't, yeah, but she, I think, I think she's going to be upset and she wanted to do,
Starting point is 01:35:17 do that, yeah, but, um, but, um, so, whatever. I'm a good reaction too. It's a great reaction.
Starting point is 01:35:22 I thought it was a great reaction, but, you know, people don't give a crap about it. And, you know, can't do it. Um,
Starting point is 01:35:28 all right, Joey Pedras, let's see. How do you guys take on the end of the year? Contemplative of and Reflective or do you keep trucking ahead? I think it's keep trucking ahead for the end of the year, especially like, you know, I mean, it's especially this year, Joey, it's like, I got a lot to do in the end.
Starting point is 01:35:43 And well, December, November and December for my channel is usually, and I think for Johns as well, let him answer when he comes in here. But usually the busy, one of the busier times of the year, November, December is pretty busy. It's usually January's dead. So, John, the question was from Joey. Oh, yeah, John. So the question was from Joey where it's like, how do you guys take on the other year? Contemplated, reflective, but you keep trucking ahead.
Starting point is 01:36:17 I'm just not like, you know, for me, it's business for us is usually, YouTube is really busy in November, December. When you run a channel, man, you can't even take a week off. I remember I took a week off a few years ago for Christmas. And my channel took three months to recover financially and viewers-wise. So you've got to plan ahead to post off and have evergreen content. ready if you're going to take a week off but i'm agree with you i truck like even on my birthday bro i i worked all day on my birthday i went to see a movie i recorded out of theater reaction and then did
Starting point is 01:36:46 hot mic so you know these holidays don't mean much anymore because you've got to keep trucking because you're a self-employed business man that's so yeah for the end of the year you know i'll take like i usually try to pre-tape some stuff and i'll take like a week off um and you and honestly usually speaking exactly what john's john's usually hosting my shows during that time I'm going to try to get that. We missed it last year. I want to try to get that end of the year show with Dan, myself, and Roku. Oh, God.
Starting point is 01:37:15 Yeah, we'd love to do it again, man. We missed it last year. So we'll try to do it this year. I'm a mic. Ford is making it to my city. Have you ever been able to have a chance to watch it? No. No.
Starting point is 01:37:27 It's coming out in San Diego this weekend as well. So I'm going to see Fjord. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Okay. I got to see your mother, your mother, your mother as well. I know. This is really good. Oh, hold on a second.
Starting point is 01:37:38 Let's see. Go ahead. Okay. So, Craig just gave me an update. Okay. So apparently I was wrong. Apparently that you're, there's those six tickets, those six tickets that for the Shmowdown live event are still available.
Starting point is 01:37:54 I thought they were going to be gone afterwards too, but there's only, there's still only six exclusive tickets left and then there will be gone once they're gone. There won't be open to anyone else too, but there are six tickets left of those. And basically that those will include the, the seats, you know, the behind the seat stuff, the interview with, Jen, all those are, all those, all those add-ons are still on there. So, and there'll be six of a month. People want.
Starting point is 01:38:15 Okay. Crash and Coyote, Falcons are actually, Falcons actually beat the 49ers wild seasons apart. The season's been so unpredictable this year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Super original. Dave, Gibbo, you're five away, John, from 50. You almost hit your goal.
Starting point is 01:38:29 Hey, come on, guys. Five more. Yeah. Let's go. Great to see Man Utudy Lose again. What is that? And United. Oh, oh, hold on.
Starting point is 01:38:37 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just would like to remind my intrepid friend a couple of years ago, he was like, you need to teach me everything about soccer because my daughter is playing it. I need to know about it. And I dropped the ball. I dropped the ball. And maybe this is residual anger at me dropping the ball about it. You did.
Starting point is 01:38:59 You could have, you could have gotten me on board. It's true. I played myself. Instead you were eating potatoes and rice. Yeah, that's true. Fake Scott Summers, as we're coming up to Halloween, it reminds me of D.C.'s biggest problem. My nephews are dressed as Spider-Man.
Starting point is 01:39:15 I see a variety of kids as Marvel characters, not many DC characters. Only Batman and Superman, right? It's true. It's true. There's not, I mean, who else? But they're given a chance. That's true. They're given a chance to build.
Starting point is 01:39:28 Yeah, they need to build it out. Now, whether or not they're going to build it out, we shall see. And another reason why manna tomorrow is so important. Like they're, they're going to overload that movie, but I think in a good way. And I think that they're going to have everybody in there. And from what the rumors say, they're not going to be as,
Starting point is 01:39:47 it's not going to be as goofy. It'll still have a goofy tone. I don't think guns ever going to get away from the sense of humor type stuff, too. It's what is his, that's his thing. But if they can do more of a balance of like say, Guardians 3 for the next one, and it's going to indeed be a trilogy,
Starting point is 01:40:02 which you're kind of hinting that it was going to be, right? Yeah, it feels like it would be, yeah. And if it's going to be a trilogy, then, then, you know, then give me that little darker second episode, which is fine by me. All right, Hank Pimp, three away from 50, John. Three away. Hey.
Starting point is 01:40:19 Pink, seen Wildwood, visually stunning movie, 9, 8, 10. Did you see it, John? I forget. No, I have not seen it yet. I'm definitely going to be seen it this week, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, so even today, you see. Hank Pim, do you think Hexed Disney will bomb?
Starting point is 01:40:33 I'll tell you two people who don't want to see it. Like my kids, I was shocked. That's not good. Do you know, like, my, my oldest is, is adamant against it. And I was like, why? She's like, because it was a TV show on a different network that looked exactly, was the exact same premise and they're doing this instead. And they're not even doing it as good.
Starting point is 01:40:53 And then because my little one listens to everything she says, she's like, I don't want to see it. It's like, I've seen that show before. And I'm like, you would have seen it. She's like, I'll go for the popcorn. I'm fine. But yeah, but that's, I don't know. You think it's going to bomb?
Starting point is 01:41:09 Yeah, I think it will. No interest. I think what your daughter is saying is absolutely correct. Like a lot of people online are already saying, this is the plot of a TV show that was already out. What is going to make this unique? Also, I don't think Walton Gaghan's is the voice to get people excited to come see. And so it's just is, yeah, it kind of has a lot of strikes against it, I guess. Okay.
Starting point is 01:41:30 Alexander Wilson. Seinfeld said that Bernie was the best that he ever saw do it. Eddie was like, I love Bernie, but I can't put him on Rushmore with Pryor and Bruce. And that's what I'm saying. I'm with Eddie on this one, but I'm not watching it from Seinfeld's eyes. I didn't spend the kind of time in the club that Seinfeld did with Bernie. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:52 Because I would tell you, I think that the best crowd work, well, I'm adamant. If I ask everybody their opinion and you, as well, who the best crowdwork comedian of all time is. Some people will probably go, oh, Matt Rife or this or that or throw things in there to who the best crowd work comedian is. Matt Rife doesn't sniff the shoe of Rick Ingram. Rick Ingram is the best crowdwork comedian to ever do it. I've seen him do it.
Starting point is 01:42:19 I've seen him do it consistently. I've seen him do it way before social media and all this other stuff too. Adam Ray is pretty damn good too. But Rick Ingram is the best to ever. And Adam Ray would probably tell you that too. Ingram is the best to ever do it. But you guys don't know because you didn't spend as much time with Ingram in the clubs as I did, right? So I don't know.
Starting point is 01:42:38 I mean, in his opinion, he probably thinks Bernie is. I would say Carlin is the best. Like everything, it's subjective. Every piece of art, every commentary about who's great or who's not, it's all subjective. So for Jerry, he saw a different criteria. And by the way, I just watched the clip while you were talking, Christian. It's from a conversation for comedians and cars getting coffee on stage. Yeah, on a theater on stage.
Starting point is 01:42:59 and Jerry and Eddie are having a fun time with it. They're not biting over. They're having a conversation like you and I would. Yeah, yeah, exactly. And they're ballbussing each other. And it's funny. So, yeah. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 01:43:09 The two people who respect each other and they have different opinions on it. Joseph Ashley, Christian, hope you see Wildwood. It's got Narnia and Lord of the Rings in this film to sleep on. Also, happy birthday to the outlaw and smut king, Mike, pledge still open. That's right. That's right. Thank you, Joseph. Yeah, I told Mike that he's going.
Starting point is 01:43:29 you know, we're sending them to the Avian Awards now because that was one of the... What? That was one of the goals. I thought you're sending PLD to the AVA. No, PLD was going to go with... No, PLD was... So, Mike, we set a goal at when we hit, I think, 270, that we would send Mike to the Avian Awards to cover them.
Starting point is 01:43:46 But then we said if we hit 300, PLD would go and film him, but he'd have to dress his donkey from, from Shrek. And he's... And he's still, that's still... This is why don't get involved with Christian promising me to... thing. I push back on it all the time because I do not want to be recruited into these these things. I would not be blamed. You were you were the reason that that donkey thing came up in the first place. Oh, really? Yes. You were you were in the chat. You were in the chat screaming and
Starting point is 01:44:12 the other day about how he should be donkey. He should be donkey. He should be donkey. He should be donkey and he said he would do it. Now he's only on the hook for the end of the day if we get the 300 today. How close are you? Oh, I don't know. I think that I might donate some extra blood and get you You got put 20 grand in there. I think we're at, can you imagine the rivalry goes that thick that you put in $18,000 to make sure that he goes to the Avians to dress up his donkey? I would just sell PLD to the Russian human trafficking people for 20,000 and get it across the line. All right, Alexander Wilson.
Starting point is 01:44:50 Oh, you think I'm worth $20,000? That's the nicest thing you've ever said. I do, especially if I cut you up in three pieces. It's absolutely $20,000. dark here. Alexander Wilson, Cat Williams said that Bernie was the greatest. I mean, again, he was, you know, you know what it reminds me of?
Starting point is 01:45:05 It reminds me of when you ask every wrestler who the toughest guy is, and they all say, haiku. Mm-hmm. Right? It's like everybody's got, because they saw him in ways that we never would, and we never did. Yes, right, exactly. Yeah. Like, the way you can navigate
Starting point is 01:45:20 a crowd when there's 12 people in the audience. Like, I said this the same thing, too. people have kind of mixed opinions on him now, but like one of the greatest comedians I've ever seen perform in a room of either 500 people or eight people was Louis CK. Like I remember I was in I was in the OR
Starting point is 01:45:40 the original room and there was like, I don't remember how many people. It was, I don't remember what time it was. It was really late and he had a spot and he comes in and there's like, if there were eight people in the room, maybe, maybe. And the dorm is like, And Louis, do you still want to go up?
Starting point is 01:45:59 You know, there's only eight people. He looked at him like he was a crazy person. He goes, of course. He goes, of course I want to go up. Yeah. Yeah, but there's a lot of comedians that wouldn't do it. There's a lot of comedians. Even season was like, ah, there's only eight people here.
Starting point is 01:46:11 I'm getting out of here. And he navigated that room, dude, like there was 800 people in that room. Of course. And he made, but even all the pros. Even all the pros can't do that. Well, I guess that's what I mean. Like, he's a pro, like, in the sense of like, he understands he loves the business.
Starting point is 01:46:26 He's a navigator. And like that's, and I learned so much that night watching him where you really hone in and it's in you, it's a manipulation of energy is what it is. Yeah. And it's like you, it's like when you go to a party and if you're at a party with eight people and you're in that circle with eight people and you're making eight people left, it feels, it feels, you just made, you're making eight people out at the same time. But when it's in an expanded room, it feels small. but it's not if you treat it like it's eight people at a party and that's what he did it was it was it was it was you know there are a lot of guys that can do that but he but he just did that in a way that it always stuck
Starting point is 01:47:07 with me yeah um Hank Pimp you pull any Halloween pranks as a kid you know in Queens I always remember being like really understanding when my childhood when the when the innocent side of the childhood was going away And I remember being sad about it because I liked, um, I liked dressing up and trick-or-treating and stuff too. But in Queens, it, once you got to a certain part, it was all about shaving cream and eggs. And like, yeah, yeah, yeah. You would, and it was like, it was became like gang wars where you would, you, you, you couldn't
Starting point is 01:47:43 even be a kid anymore. And you had to like, people are getting into fights and throwing eggs and shaving cream. And I remember being like, yeah, I'm going to dress up as Godzilla. And, and I, and I couldn't. um so you know but i enjoyed i enjoyed doing that shit once i was a little bit more into the teenage years but uh but i don't remember pranks i don't know no just toilet peppering every once in a while but yeah not too many pranks uh 51 you hit that goal john there you go so let's get um they kept you on the air as as as you asked and so let's see if there's two more
