Starting point is 00:00:29 So we're in the middle of that shoot, and Roxy is shaking around the thing, and she didn't even know that it was her. It was hilarious. The shame I'd feel. She was exhausted. And I told her, I said, if you did a magic mind beforehand, you had made a week. Because I told both you guys about it. Yeah. Because you were going to have coffee, and I said, I got magic money.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Yeah. And talking to that microphone. Come on. I was great for the day. I usually have like five to six cups of coffee throughout the day. Sometimes. That's a problem. I'm down from 12.
Starting point is 00:01:01 I was up to, I was up because I have like a three cup. You don't need it. One of these, and then I had my nighttime coffee to go to sleep. There's no jitters. There's no jitters. And the taste. It makes me sleep. Yeah, the taste is better. What do you like about this? Because I really... I mean, that watch, I'm about to hit this and I'm done.
Starting point is 00:01:15 That's it. Boom. That's what he likes. Here we go. Hit it and quit it. It really is. I like to taste it. It really is delicious. And it's got that feeling of just every time I do it, I feel like mentally clear.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Right? That was true. I remember. I talked about the lack of jitters. Because I need to stay conscious, but I also get jittery and copy. This is perfect. Pre-writing, pre-editing. Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Yeah. Yes. So I had it. I can't remember what show I was on. And it was a longer show. No, it was an interview that I did last week. And I had taken Magic Mind right beforehand. And I was just like, boom, boom.
Starting point is 00:01:46 And people were like, like, great, great interview. Yes. So many great questions. I was so focused. I was so focused. So Magicmind. Magicmind.com slash big thing. I always put the link in the description.
Starting point is 00:01:57 But we're doing a show here, guys. Let's go do the show. But yeah, magic mind. And I had one of our patrons who said, I just got a whole bunch of magic minds. It's a good, smart. Good choice. All right, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:02:06 What's up, everybody? Happy Friday. Welcome back to the show. It's capes and cows. Me, Winston and Coy, we are back together again. And we'll be talking about, yes, the X-Men 97. It's crushing. People love it.
Starting point is 00:02:19 The reviews, after the first three, we're amazing. Now people are singing the praises to this show is one of the best shows. Maybe Marvel's ever done. Jonathan Nolan was out talking about fallout but he's saying that he would come back to Batman Absolutely if given the chance a lot of Deadpool and Wolverine stuff there were some reshoots what does that mean overall I think that right away we can squash any idea of oh it's a problem the reshoots no reshoots happen all the time This was one round of reshoots and it most likely means that they're probably doing more cameos So we'll talk about that so that's really that's the majority of stuff
Starting point is 00:02:54 the only one big comic book movie coming out this summer we just put our summer movie preview special out with myself, Roxy, and Brett. If you watch that episode, then most likely you know that Roxy was shaking around a thing and didn't realize it was her. And you would also know about the movie of the year that's coming out another man's wife.
Starting point is 00:03:13 All right. Thank you for joining us here today. Apple Podcast, Spotify, anywhere podcasts are found. Let's do it, man. It's capes and cows. I'm ready. Fleeting What's up, everybody?
Starting point is 00:03:31 Capes and Cal's here. Christian Harloff. Coy Chondro. Winston A. Marshall. It's a cameo, baby. It's a good cameo. Hello, guys. We haven't been back in the same room in a bit.
Starting point is 00:03:44 God damn, we haven't. I know. Has it been? Because you were gone two weeks. One for travel because of the con. And then we were sick. Yep. Then last week, I had a gig.
Starting point is 00:03:55 So I was gone and so now we're Dan's back together It's about a month Yeah so we got and we only got a month left of this last Raja baby before we gotta go But it's a five week We get we have five Thursdays No well it's gonna be one Thursday
Starting point is 00:04:08 We're gonna have to probably do a live episode In May because I'm gonna be in New York Setting up the studio So the goal is that we can get The studio set up in time that I can Basically we can do a test where maybe you guys Can be in the same room Which would be amazing me
Starting point is 00:04:23 I don't know if you can head over to his place whatever it is. And then that's how it'll work in the future is that these guys will be in the same room. And I'm going to be in the new studio. So we'll still have the dynamic. Yeah, yeah, for sure. And then that was the other thing. I'm so curious because this airs obviously on Friday.
Starting point is 00:04:42 So I'll have an idea of how the, I'm kind of nervous about that potential thing that we put on the air there. Because you never know who's watching the episode. There's somebody who's just like, oh yeah, I got to. I got enough to put it in the camera. Go ahead. We put a really ridiculous bet for the Amazon wish list yesterday. And if somebody does it, I'm probably going to have to retire. It's going to be canceled.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Anyway. Oh, my God. Jokes aside, I do want to think. A lot of people have gotten stuff from that wish list. And I cannot thank you enough. We had people who got lenses and mic stands and panels. And thank you so much. for that. So we're excited to set up the new studio.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Brett's going to really knock it down. All right, we got some stuff to talk about in the world of comic book movies. Let's do it. Actually, let's start with this. Chris Hemsworth. You know, we talked about this a little bit on the show on Wednesday, but I wanted to get you guys talking about it.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Chris Hemsworth had an interview with Vanity Fair, and he's not happy with what happened. Not necessarily. He wasn't taking shot to Tyca, per se. He was more so about his... He got Yeah, that he got carried away with the spoof element of it all and wanted to have some fun. And what I said on the show the other day, and I think you guys would agree with this, I feel like what happened is that Tyca, I don't know if you had an opportunity to interview Tyca.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Oh, he's fascinating. Not only he's fascinating. He's just naturally funny. Yeah. He's just. His brain's moving so fast. He's seeing jokes and everything. But not in a way where you're like, this guy is always on.
Starting point is 00:06:19 I've been around people like that for many times. I used to go to the comedy store freaking July 4th parties. And that's all that was. People going on, on. Bit, bit, but, yeah. He's just funny. Yeah. He's funny.
Starting point is 00:06:30 So imagine, and I don't think, and again, I don't think you're ever going to hear him say this, I don't think Tyca gives a flying F about Marvel continuity and if the fans are happy with it. He'll never say that, obviously. But he'll never say that. But I don't think he cares. And I think he was like, and he's so busy and he's probably like, it's just have fun. Yeah. And they probably, and I said, as much as I don't like that movie,
Starting point is 00:06:53 I can't even imagine a set that was probably more fun than that set. So it's easy to see where he could get carried away. Imagine Christian Bale just hanging out with, like in that outfit with Natalie Portman coming back because of how much fun it probably seemed. Hemsworth's like, you know, it sucks for the movie, but Hemsworth's probably the highlight of the Ghostbusters reboot. He's naturally funny. So you put all of that in one pot and stir. Like that set must have been amazing. And the four hour cut of that movie that's like Anchorman 2.5 is probably great.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Yeah. But if you made it a spoof, instead of me. making it Thor 4, I'd watch that. That movie was Saturday Live. Right. And it just, I didn't. With moments. The problem was it was moments of since your heart.
Starting point is 00:07:31 There was stuff in there. That could have been. Yeah, you could have picked out things and said, let's take that. Let's go with that tone. Like the stuff that it eventually worked with Natalie Portman's character. The Jane Foster storyline could have been a good movie. Yeah. Like by the end of it, by the time that they actually started to actually, let's take this
Starting point is 00:07:45 serious. I'm like, dude, I just saw Russell Crow go like this down the stairs. I'm like, I'm out. I'm out of that. And there was no God. Butchering. No. And so he's not happy about the way that was.
Starting point is 00:07:57 And he said he feels like he owes the fans another one. But Winston, where do you stand in this movie now? Because I forget, you say you were you watched it and you just, it's not as good. I haven't yet. I have put a full pause on. Your journey is paused. Yeah. Part of it is because, you know, my YouTube channel is popping now.
Starting point is 00:08:13 So come over and say, what's up? The Swaggy Blurt over on YouTube.com. But I paused at multiverse because I really don't want to watch that again. you're stuck, you're not paused. So I literally am doing the same thing. You're in the mud. So we've been trying to get my girlfriend to get through all of face one through three. And she got stuck on Dr. Strange because she hates Benedict Cumberbatch.
Starting point is 00:08:34 And you're stuck on the next doctor's. So now I am stuck on multiverse of madness, which is preventing me from then seeing love and thunder. But I think I also know now we're going into the dark woods. There's also a rough run to punch right. There is a rough run going forward where up down, up down. and so I have just fully can't move.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I'll get back to it, but I completely forgot about the little dainty, like, I don't think I'll re-watch those to have kids. God, how many times are you seen? I think,
Starting point is 00:09:02 I saw Thor three times. I saw multiverse, three times. I saw Ant and twice. So that's the whole thing. I have seen multiverse twice and I've seen Thor once. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:13 And I have not revisited it. I feel pretty full. You know, I feel pretty good. So like, maybe like eight years, you know, down a line.
Starting point is 00:09:18 And that's, I guess that's, again, the thing that's weird. I used to go back to phases one through three movies pretty regularly if I just wanted something. It was approachable. Well, it was both that, but like, it was a consistent, like, I will go back and rewatch Christmas vacation every time because even though I know all
Starting point is 00:09:33 the lines around Christmas time, I'm like, I know this is going to make me happy for these various reasons. I start thinking about these movies and I'm like, I don't have anything to anchor to. So no way home I do, because it's like the big final battle on the three brothers and blah, blah, blah. That's hilarious. I think I want to watch at least half of the X-Men leading up to Deadpool and Wolverine. So that's the other thing that I'm starting this weekend is I'm starting now the Fox rerun, and I'm probably going to do like two a weekend so that we can get done. Yeah. Of them.
Starting point is 00:09:59 And I at least half of them. You're not doing the whole Fox universe, just the X-Men movies. Just X-Men is 13 movies. Right. But obviously because, well, because Daredevil is like you've got exactly, you have all those different movies that are supposedly going to be involved in all of this. We know, Jennifer Garner's going back. I don't background watch movies. I watch movies, so I don't know if I'll have time for like 20.
Starting point is 00:10:17 You know, like I just. No, no. I get that. I mean, well, okay, yes. But you do your reactions all the time with the real rejuks. Isn't that, like, yes, you're watching. But it feels...
Starting point is 00:10:24 That's even more watching, because there's lights and stuff. It's like, if you zone out then, the audience is like, oh, he hates it. If your eyes drift left for more than a second. Yeah, this man hasn't spoken, 17 seconds. I actually think there might be some merit to not saying anything because of what Brett did with Inside Out to do...
Starting point is 00:10:41 Oh, not Inside Out, Elemental. You remember this? Oh, God. No. So Brett did a reaction to the... to the, what's it called elemental trailer. Okay. We made shorts out of it.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I'm nervous. And so there's a clip that I put out. You can see it's on my channel, on my Instagram feed, and on him, because I tagged him on it. And he literally goes like this. He's like, huh. Hmm. Ah. 1.3 million views.
Starting point is 00:11:11 1.3 million. I was trying the bread method. I got to try. Maybe they're science. We put out a video that I feel. that you know whether it was you know the reaction to you on the G.I. Joe which I think was hilarious. Would you big reaction I was talking about it? Barely even a thousand views on it. I should have heard it. It was like, huh.
Starting point is 00:11:29 That's the power of flirting flowers, man. There's something. There's some seats. You know what I just realized the other day? Brett feels like the like the like long lost twin. I was going to say of Zach Galfinacus. Yeah, he gets that too. He reminds me of the thing in inside out that creature with the long note. the creature that dies. Bing Bong? Yeah, he's Bing Bong to me. To me, Brett is Bing Bong.
Starting point is 00:11:53 He's just this all in the serious interview. I don't know how you got there either. Winston and I were in the same neighborhood. We were in the same area. He's a mythical child's creature. Let's go to IMDB. Robin Williams is usually related to Zach Alfanakis is related to Bing Bong.
Starting point is 00:12:12 That's right. Big Bang. Guys, if you don't have drugs, everyone's Bingham. Yo, Christian, it's almost like he gave us an address. Hey, y'all, come meet me at this street. I don't know where the fuck we are. Sorry, I just swear out here. The editing.
Starting point is 00:12:26 He's been back on. Anyway, all right. So, let's talk about... Hard F. Yes. No, from you guys, overall with what the comments of Chris Hemsworth, you know, did he think that he owes us another one? I don't think...
Starting point is 00:12:42 I think saying that anybody owes anybody anything is silly. I think that for him to say it, it shows a lot about his character, actually. I think if someone else said it, I'd be insulted for him. I think him saying it shows humility. Someone else was like, he owes us another movie. But the fact that he said, it's like, it shows you the type of guy that he is, right? And he wants, and he really goes he listened because there are a lot of people that would go, like, and this again, nothing is Tyga. If you ask Tyca, you know, fans didn't really love that one, he's like, I don't care.
Starting point is 00:13:11 He doesn't care. Yeah. He doesn't care. But Chris Hemsworth does because he's so attached to this. I think he's going to do another one. I think that they should. I would love to see a more, like even like a real serious Thor. I want Norse mythology.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Yeah. I want, I mean, it's never going to happen. But my dream if he just, they packed money into a truck and back to the house, the Northman. I want Robert Eggers. I think Robert Eggers is the dream. So someone like that since he'll never touch it. That's what I'd want. That would be great.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Anyway, go ahead, throw your comments in there. Tell us what you think about it. Let's move on to the next subject. Deadpool and Wolverine. reshoots. Now they've added more cameos. X-Men reboot seeking a person of color to direct. Is this new report from comic book movie?
Starting point is 00:13:56 Another couple of X-related rumors here, and it seems that the reshoots that are currently underway for Deadpool and Wolverine may to be to add even more cameos to the movie. Mark Cassidy. Under recent reports, reshoots for Deadpool and Wolverine are underway and could continue until the end of the month.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Additional photography is pretty much the norm for any major studio blockbuster, but some fans still tend to assume the worst. While it is true that reshoots can often alter significant plot, points, character arcs, more often than not, it's something much more trivial. According to Daniel Rickman, the Deadpool and Wolverine shoots are mostly to add even more cameos. Marvel Studios and director Sean Levy are pleased with the movie and they aren't going to fix anything. There's been some concern that the Merck with the Mouth's MCU debut is already shaping up to be too much of a cameo fest.
Starting point is 00:14:44 So we're not sure how well this update will sit with fans. Although we have heard the most of the surprise appearances will happen during the same sequence, which might turn out to be a parody of superhero movies that tend to cram as many characters in as possible. In a related rumor, MTTSH has heard that Marvel Studios is looking for a person of color to direct the upcoming X-Men film. This follows a previous rumor that claimed Mufasa, the Lion King director, Barry Jenkins could be on the studio's radar to take the helm of the long-awaited reboot. That would be a great choice, actually. Marvel has been taking pitch meetings with writers since last year, and reports indicate that we are very close to finding out who will pen the script for the project.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Once a scribe is in place, the studio will turn its attention to a director, but there's a decent chance that Kevin Feig and Company already have a list of filmmakers in mind that they feel could be the right person to bring the iconic mutant hero back, mutant heroes back to the big screen. Okay, so let's go with the first things first of these reshoots, right? this is exactly what we set up top this is exactly what it is there is no concern for this movie
Starting point is 00:15:47 whatsoever when you go back to I forget what movie it was and it was recent where there was like shoot it was a James gun it was Aquaman four rounds of reshoots five rounds of reshoots that's an issue
Starting point is 00:16:01 one round of reshoots that's scheduled and like additional photography is scheduled it's got to be there part of the budget And if you look at this movie, it makes sense that if, hey, we couldn't get these cameos, if it is cameos. Yeah. This chunk of filming. Why don't we set aside time later?
Starting point is 00:16:18 Let's get everybody's schedules cleared up. And let's film here because we've got Ryan and Hugh. It seems logical. 100%. It's all of those things like, hey, you know, I just talked to so-and-so. We didn't get them during that time period, but they're available. But they're free in May. They're available.
Starting point is 00:16:30 That'd be great. Can we actually fit it into that scene and will it make sense? Yeah. All right. Let's shoot it. I was going to ask you, Winston, with that, what are you going to say, do you think, this could almost be like, because they said it's rumor that it may be like one sequence, it's almost like what that Civil War scene was when you had both, you know, the Avengers
Starting point is 00:16:50 basically fighting each other. And it could be something like that. I actually see it probably being more along the lines of first class when you're going to recruit the mutants or more importantly, the end of Deadpool 2 where he gets the ability to body slide through time. And so he then starts going and writing all the wrongs because that's essentially what it sounds like this movie is, is taking that little post-credit sequence and then officially employing Deadpool with the TVA to go prune these mistakes, more or less. So I can totally see it's a sequence already where you shot with Jennifer Gardner and you shot with, uh, you know, maybe Jessica Alba or whoever is going to visit and they go, right, we couldn't get Chris Evans previously. So he's available now. Let's
Starting point is 00:17:33 go prune him as whatever character you want. So imagine if it's like, okay, so it's during the strike, it's during the same, they can't get these certain cameos, and they have it in the budget that they can, they're going to have another reshoot day. They just don't know when it is. Let's say it's, the reshoots were in April. So they know at some point they're leading up to April. So Ryan Reynolds calls up Sean leaving and goes, dude, last night, I had drinks with Chris
Starting point is 00:17:56 Evans. And we talked about it for a little bit. He said he's in. So we had figured out if we can fit him in for this. place. It's a little bit that he and I were talking about last night. We could fit it in there for the reshoots thing. Can we do it? Yeah, let's do it. Call up his agent. Chris said he wants to do it. Chris, they said you wanted to do this. That's how it happens. It's like that it's that's that's that's that's that's that's the kind of pull also. Right. And that at this point, the trailer's goodwill has. I think there's also a potential that, hey, we're a little worried. We've heard about this. Look at how many actors were leaving Marvel projects six months ago. And I think that six months ago, people leaving Marvel projects caused a domino effect of other people to not sign on that they were going to. There was this just bad taste in the air and now oh wait the number one trailer of all time. Oh wait a follow-up trailer is really good Hey, we've got this initial photography. You got on to do a cameo? I think it's also a really good opportunity for Marvel to leverage the good word of mouth instead of having to do damage control for the bad Yeah, I agree. I think that this is something that's gonna play very well and because of what you just said there I think because there's so much hype on this movie
Starting point is 00:18:55 It's it's it's it's it's the same way that I know a lot of people aren't as big of SNL fans as you know, they weren't in the past. But it's literally a situation where you're like, yo, Koi's doing S&L, hey, do you want to get the Capes and Cowell guy? We came up with a sketch about Capes and Cal's. You want to, with Christian and wins to do it. Yeah, yeah, of course, we got some time.
Starting point is 00:19:16 That's what this feels like. Yeah. Is that it's what's happening. Guys, it's, yeah, yeah, I'm in. It's literally can we just, and that's it. And that feels fine to me. And it would make sense if it's in that sequence and it's not like, if the whole movie is a cameo fest,
Starting point is 00:19:31 then yeah, that can be an issue. It could still work, but it could be an issue. And I understand the concerns, like, oh, is this movie just going to be like, oh, this is cool? Look at that person. I don't think it is. I think it's a bit. I think it's a bit. I think it's a bit.
Starting point is 00:19:43 And it might be a nice 10-minute bit, but think about how much you can come into 10 minutes. Think about the volume of cameos you could do in five. Well, that's why I brought up the Civil War scene. Because that civil war scene, they promoted the movie on that scene, right? And you didn't know Spider-Man was in it. They edited Spider-Man out of the trailers. And it's a 10-15-minute sequence, right? It's the sequence everyone talks about.
Starting point is 00:20:03 You're like, oh, my God, when is... But it's not the whole movie. Look at Deadpool, too. One of the best cameos ever is the X-Men behind Deadpool. Remember, he, like, opens that door. And it's the... And it's just, like, closing the door. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:13 That's what, 20 seconds? Yeah. Think about what they did in 20 seconds. So that might not be, you know, to scale, but imagine that times 20, we're going to have 40 cameos. It would be fun. The Anchorman fight sequences.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Yes. Like, you literally get... Kai Yewil, Will Smith, and the second one, like, you just, at the very end, it's like, all right, here's now the big fight sequence. And clearly it's Adam McKay turning the camera and they're no longer there.
Starting point is 00:20:36 It's literally that. Bring that on. It could be one of it. It's exactly what it is. This is, I am, I am so, I have no insight information on this, but I am so confident that this is like, hey, we got so-and-so to do this. Holy moly, we got Hugo weaving, said he was going to come back to do. Red skull. He said he was going to do it. Yeah, he said he would do it. He said he loved the trailer and he wants to do it.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Do we have any more budget for the research? Yeah, we got to, we have something scheduled. He said, I'm doing it for $5 at a sense. sandwich. But it's like, can we fit it into where it makes sense? I think it's the same conversation where they're not just going to throw things in there if it makes sense to the actual story and what they're doing. So I think most people get this.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I think so too. And fun fact, the Deadpool marriage issue is the single most characters in the history of a Marvel comic cover. So I think it'd be kind of funny if Deadpool gets the most cameos in a movie that mirrors his comic thing. So when Deadpool got married, they literally the son of Scott Cobblish, the artist, drew as so many characters he could that it was a double wrap around page and characters are like two inches
Starting point is 00:21:35 tall but it's the most attendees of a wedding and if they go if that is a cameo that would be amazing totally amazing um okay before I move on oh no wait I'm gonna do that one all right now let's also stick with um now X-Men
Starting point is 00:21:48 so the rumors of of who they want I think that this is the same type of situation for me and that where it's like if it goes down to this whole point of like I think they should have a list and I think whether it's whoever they have on that list. And Barry Jenkins,
Starting point is 00:22:05 I would rather him do X-Men than whatever this movie is that's coming out. It looks so generic. It looks to me like a direct-to-d-d-d-d-d-d-Dvd-D-D-D-D-Cequels. It reminds me of the DVD sequels of the thousands. That's what I meant. And so... It really does. And he is awesome.
Starting point is 00:22:24 And I like to have him, like, have a list and say, look, to me, if you're Kevin Feige, my top choices right now Barry Jenkins, Ryan Cougler, Ava DuVernay, and go through through it. But just saying, but no one else has a shot, that to me isn't conducive.
Starting point is 00:22:41 I would venture a guess. I would truly venture a guess, and they've already been thinking about it, but I definitely think after what's been going on with 97, I think it is correct to find, to do your absolute due diligence to get a person of color or a marginalized
Starting point is 00:22:57 person to Helm X-Men Especially for X-Men, for what it is. Of course. Exactly what it is. And you see how well Bo de Mayo has done with 97, how important that is to have the perspective. Now, does that mean that there isn't a, you know, a straight white man that could, of course there is. There are great directors and great riders throughout that could make it happen. But I think that this is just a very smart fit in the way no, in my opinion, no white director would have nailed Black Panther the way that Ryan would.
Starting point is 00:23:24 I agree. I think there's a similar thing just from that perspective. It doesn't mean there's someone that couldn't do it. It's just a higher likely. Very well set, because that's exactly right. It's one of these things of like, here's our list. I'm going to tell you that I think these people are probably going to nail what we do, and it makes more sense.
Starting point is 00:23:43 And I'm not saying that they did say this, but definitive, that's it. Because that's what the scooper said, because in the same way that I bring up the Pedro Pescal thing. Right. Where it's like, if Pedro Piscal had the best audition, and it's Pedro Piscal, he's incredible. If you had the best audition, they said, out of everybody we saw, Pedro Nailed Reed, as opposed to, no, no, no, the cast is too white. We can't do that. We have to have a person or color. It's about how you got to that decision.
Starting point is 00:24:07 It's about how you got to the decision. It's like what you said is so on the money where it makes sense. Like it said to me that, yeah, of course. But have your list. Have your top choices. No, say, look, everybody has come in. I'll be honest. I'm probably leaning way more this way, but everybody should get a shot with their takes.
Starting point is 00:24:24 I would even put it to, I would put it to this. If you take it outside the world of movies and you think about dating, I think it is totally fine for people to have like, what's your type? Oh, I like someone that's a little taller. I like somebody that I like redheads. I like whatever. But if you fully close yourself off to everything else and I'm only this. That's a problem. Right.
Starting point is 00:24:40 So I think if you go in leading with I, this is what I am aiming for because of X, Y, and Z, totally fine. If you go fully, nope, this and nothing else kiss my ass. That is where you're getting into an issue. So again, I don't think that's a bad place to start. I just think you still leave the door open just in case someone comes in and blows the doors off and you go You know in the same way that if what happened if with Silver Surfer they were just like you know what? Let's just see What's her name that ended up being that's a Garner? Yeah Julia Garner? Julia Garner right is Silver Surfer? Oh okay. Oh, you know what I think you give Jennifer
Starting point is 00:25:16 Garner. That's why my brain was like yeah you accepted and denied it still? You should have seen Koi's face Quayas, I'm pretty sure that's right. I'm pretty sure I'm wrong. I'm now doubting everything. Do they make up a name? Is this Latin? Am I speaking? What happened?
Starting point is 00:25:32 But like, what if literally they just, just randomly like, yeah, you know what? Go ahead. I'd love to just see. I'm like keeping my options open. And she, again, like you said, blew the doors off that they go, okay, maybe we need to figure out how to make that happen.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Okay, so like, for example, I'm uncomfortable in certain situations where like I feel, like antique stores. Like when I walk in an antique store, I feel like a kid with his hands in his pockets and I shouldn't touch stuff. But I know that's just me, dude, like, being a white guy. I know that some people feel uncomfortable everywhere
Starting point is 00:25:58 because the world has made them feel you don't belong here, you don't belong there. And so I think the movie should be held by someone that's lived day to day in a way that feels like I'm being judged and looked at, and that's awful. And this is not a fair place to be like the X-Men versus me. I'm only like that in, like, antique stores. So I think there's some properties when they say, like, we really want only this type of person.
Starting point is 00:26:18 That's not fair to the property. This is the opposite to me. This is I want the bones of this to be coming from a place of like I live day to day being told Maybe not like because you're you and I think that's the X-Men. So I want an altruistic version of that like defense mechanism and I think that's a fair way to look at it from from the bones up nicely said All right If you know, you know Um Sometimes you gotta try something over. I'll tell you something you should try mac weldin. I'll tell you it. I'll tell you it
Starting point is 00:26:51 I got... I noticed your shirt, and I was like, that's a nice shirt. I told you, man. And you know what's hilarious about that? Is that I have between this shirt, I have these t-shirts, these pants, every time I wear Mac Weldon and I am not fiascing you guys. I'm still going to show you the thing in a second here, too. Every time, someone says, nice shirt.
Starting point is 00:27:11 That's great. I walked in and my wife goes, honey, nice cutter shirt. And I go, and I'm like, yeah. Noticed this shirt. Mac Weldon is one of my favorite companies that we have ever had on this show, ever. And I'm telling you guys that when I show you this thing, get yourself this stuff, it is worth it. You will love it. I want them to come back also.
Starting point is 00:27:31 And I really want them to come back. And I want you guys to benefit from them. And I've already told you, I've screamed it to the heavens about how much I love Magic Spoon. Magic Spoon has made me lose a lot of weight, and I love it. It's a good treat. I gave you guys both Magic Spoon. It's really good. I like to dry and with milk, which is rare.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Yeah, so it's great. Just dry snack and it's great cereal. It's just so good. So, you know, even, so I'll tell you what, for both of that, you guys know, I've told you both about Mac Weldon. I told you about Magic Spoon. I put both the links in the description. That's, I'm not even going to throw to anything.
Starting point is 00:28:04 This was us to do it. I'm not even going to throw to anything. I'm just going to tell you right now that you can use, use the code for Magic Spoon, use the code from Mac Weldon. I'm pretty sure that it's macwellden. dot com slash the big thing you'll see it in in the description you get yourself a discount magic spoon magic spoon dot com slash the big thing it is they're both two companies i love they're in the description you want to help out the show you want to help yourself out you want to help yourself
Starting point is 00:28:29 out you will thank me for those i'm telling you will uh all right next one let's just get to xman 97 dropped episode eight it's part one of the three part finale and already people are losing their minds about this show. I went and I saw the first three episodes of this show with Winston when we had an opportunity to see it a little early. I did not watch the original series, but I was very much love the X-Men, read the comics growing up, and I turned to Winston and told him how much I thought the show was great.
Starting point is 00:29:00 I have, in that episode five, I'm with everybody else saying how great it was. I have just, like a lot of other shows, just fallen off and I'm going to start watching. I will say I started watching episode six. And I was tired. So I wasn't as into it as I was the other episodes with Xavier. I was glad to see Xavier back. But I just wasn't as locked in. And I feel like I'll be more locked in.
Starting point is 00:29:23 But you guys totally locked into this show. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, well, episode six specifically, I think the thing that was so interesting to me, and different people are going to resonate with it differently. And then we'll talk about eight is that was a very interesting episode about, are you going to kind of abandon your identity to go live a different story? And like this idea of what, like, what are you owed to your people, to your family,
Starting point is 00:29:54 to your, to your heritage, and what is it? I'm just going to live my life because both Storm and Professor X are fighting with that the whole entire time. And it's shown with Xavier, with Deathburn saying all stuff. So like, then we got to live from his Milky Way ghetto. I was like, you know, wait a minute. can't see that. So, like, I really enjoy that episode because of that idea of what it's like to feel like maybe you're leaving your, your home, your people behind, and how much you do that.
Starting point is 00:30:25 But, like, now with Adda's we're getting into the finale, you're seeing a whole different side of this, like, are the only minor, I won't get fully into spoilers because we don't want to talk about it. To me, the get-out moment of Trish and Beast. Yeah. And this idea where he's like, I don't know if I, and then he lets it back in. And then he was like, Wolverine being like, I got to talk to Hank about his choice in women. I was like, yep, there it is.
Starting point is 00:30:48 You fully didn't get out. I love it. Like so. It's really impressive that it's able to do references like that in subtle and overt ways. Like there's a lot of Manistile references because the character archetype works for that, like, feeling like an outsider in those things. But what I really impressed by is that it's able to do all of that and then able to have action that would only work in a comic or in animation. Yeah. There's some action in this episode that is so comicky.
Starting point is 00:31:11 and the tornado dude? I wasn't even thinking about that. I was thinking about, yes, I was thinking about being dragged through Nightcrawler's dimension. That was amazing. There are moments that we've never seen in any medium because in a comic book
Starting point is 00:31:23 you wouldn't really be able to show the transition through the panels. You could do like a one, two, three, four, whatever. And in a movie, it can be distorted, but I really feel like the strength of animation is so shining in this episode. The choreography and the fights,
Starting point is 00:31:35 the dynamic and the dialogue, the way it's able to be so rapidly pace. Like, this would be a 50 to 60 minute live. action thing in 32 minutes. And it doesn't feel rushed. And it's also doing the episodes called Tolerance is Extinction in part one of three.
Starting point is 00:31:50 It's combining two iconic X-Men arcs from the comics. Two giant year-long arcs. One, E is for Extinction, is a three-issue that expands into a 12 from Grant Morrison and Frank Wiley. And the other is Operation Zero Tolerance from like 96 from Scott Lobdell and a bunch of artists that was across five different titles that spanned a year.
Starting point is 00:32:08 So we're talking dense, very long, multiple issues. And this show is like, we're going to do it in three. And I was so worried once I realized that's what they're doing. And then they're crushing by getting the best elements of it like Civil War did. But I was going to say, the one thing to remember, it's not even necessarily over three, because since that has been the backbone of what the season is, you've been using other stories like the Goblin Queen and stuff like that to kind of plant other storylines to pull you. But obviously, this has been the through line all the way through is that finding a way to connect these dots and make them make sense. Right. Which,
Starting point is 00:32:40 Which is also why there's been a lot of complaints within the black nerd community about Roberto not being as dark skin since his origin in the comics is about like a hate crime happening to him for being black and his powers manifest. There's been a lot of people complaining that they have like rewritten that to be more of a kind of like coming out story with his parents of like kind of being in the closet in that way. But that's the thing. This is a particular universe with its own adaptations where you're taking stuff from
Starting point is 00:33:09 for extinction, from OZT, from Roberto's original story, but you're making your own thing. Right. It's effectively 60 comics because life death. All together. And they're telling the story they want using those seeds. If you want, if you want the Sunspot story, read the sunspot comic. If you
Starting point is 00:33:25 want life death the way it was, read life death. It doesn't get rid of those. So I think it's really important to acknowledge adaptation should not be translation. And this show is adapting beautifully, and I only hope the movies can do as well because I mean, I know how much an X-Men fan you are. And every time we talk about, It feels so amazing to just be excited about X-Men and I think if anything Marvel now goes okay the bar has been raised
Starting point is 00:33:45 This is being regarded as one of if not our best show and this is why it's doing so well How do we make the movies reflect what the audience clearly wants? What did he do? I want to Don't don't don't please people people are yelling at you and I was way less than that He's like what did he do? I don't know I know it's what the Mayo do? Oh Oh Oh I need to know because at this point I'm like if you don't bring the man back
Starting point is 00:34:12 What like if it's something bad like by all means? He's out he's tweeting about it. He's talking about it. Right. Oh, his social media has been amazing because he's showing what he's doing to read. I love what he's doing to go like if you like this, try this. If you want a preview, try this. I'm not going to say too much here.
Starting point is 00:34:27 I hope if it wasn't awful, he can come back. I just don't want to speak on it until I know because that's not right to do. Like if someone got hurt, I don't want to be like, He should come back. He should come back to love the show. But his work is incredible, and I want to acknowledge that the person and their work are different things. I will see every Mel Gibson movie, but I will sneak into everyone. Like, that's a separate thing.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Well, it's literally, I think back to Lovecraft Country. There was never really a reason why it was not renewed for a second season. It was just like, it's, we're done. And it's like, why? Why is this? I just want to know. And if I know, and again, and if it's something that's like, A, I'll be like, oh, okay, cool, thank you for telling me.
Starting point is 00:35:10 I'll get off it. But like, without knowing that I'm just like, what is happening? Yeah, it feels crazy, considering how good the show is to not know, but it's also probably an ongoing thing that like... It just had to be something huge, especially if it was, if they were like, look, if it comes to light and we kept you around. Three days before the premiere. Three days before the movie.
Starting point is 00:35:29 Because optics were awful. I mean, that's, and that's why I see people tweeting out like, wait, they'll let James gun go and come back. And it'll... We don't know what this guy did. We still don't know. We don't know what he did. Until there's actual facts, it's hard to comment on.
Starting point is 00:35:42 And I think it's really ignorant for people to make statements in pen. We're making statements in pencil. I saw people going, oh, well, they let James come back. But now let him come back. See? I'm like, you don't know, see, you don't know what happened. We don't know what happened. So, like, again, let me make it very clear.
Starting point is 00:35:58 If whatever he did was illegal, someone got hurt, any of that stuff, then he needs to stay fired. But without knowing it and just seeing one side of this is the content he's putting out It's kind of like... You can't say. You can't. But I will say that if it turns out it was just the only fans thing, then that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Then that's not fair. Then that's beyond... It also was around before he got hired for this. If it is really because of that, then that's a valid argument to say because you look at... There was James Gunn tweets and his other things. Then that's totally fair. If somebody has...
Starting point is 00:36:30 I want him on the movie. Right. If somebody has an inside track that it was just the only fans thing, then I'm on board with... Come on. That's BS. Yeah. But we don't know what it is. I also think it's worth noting while we're on the subject that the other people that have made this show possible, he's the showrunner.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Of course. But we need to have a conversation about bringing like Jay Castorina over, Charlie Feldman over, like the writers, the head writers, the head directors, the people that are also responsible should also be in conversation for at least working on the movie? Absolutely. Because like, yeah, he's the showrunner. But like, are these people in talks for season three? Are these people in talks for like what goes next? because they're changing X-Men. Like, I would argue X-Men 92
Starting point is 00:37:08 is in the top five greatest animated shows to adapt comics. No, no, I'm saying 92. The old's one, the original. Oh, just the original animated series. I would argue that was in top five. I don't know we were calling it at X-Men 92. I was trying to differentiate.
Starting point is 00:37:19 No, no, I just, I just, I just threw me off. I was like, no, no, let me just correct. The man's got a year-wroth. No, no. I would argue 92 is in the top five. Okay. I would say they had the impossible task of continuing a top five show. I would say this is in the top three.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Yeah. I think this is now past my, and that's with all that nostalgia. So this is up there with Batman for me, Batman the animated series. So like how do you possibly top that and not let these people work on the next step? You have to. And I would even argue so much as to say now that we're at episode eight and before it was just like, oh, is this the best Marvel TV we've seen? This might be the best Marvel product we've seen since No Way home. I'd put this and Loki there.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Loki is Loki and Guardians are definitely up in that. I guess the only thing is there was there was one episode of Loki that we fully shut down and I haven't had that moment It's so funny to me when everybody's like perfect season. I was like that episode two or three whatever it was like it was two It was a two yeah, I think it was too but it's so funny that I do have that little squeak but it's only us So I'm like were we all crazy right like well I mean look this but this show everybody's raven at the thing I want to get caught up with it because I'm starting to get caught up with all my shows I'm like two episodes into show gun I'm about four episodes into fallout now. So I'm getting there and now I want to catch up. I want to finish the bad batch and I want to finish this show.
Starting point is 00:38:41 So I just got to get past the night and like I think I think I was tired because I was just finding myself a little kind of like, I don't know. I'm just not as locked into this storyline with Xavier. But I'm going to revisit it with a little more energy with magic mind in me and then I'm going to go and check it out. So I think we're going to cover one more story and then we're going to call it, we'll call it an early date. today. Starting point is 00:42:22 Thank you, our friends over at PXG and AG1. A little bit of a shorter show today, but I want to do this. Hold on. Thunderbolts. Olga Curlienko was talking about the mysterious asterisk she said they've changed a few things what's that mean? Thunderbolt star
Starting point is 00:42:37 Olga Corleenko has addressed the mysterious asterisk that was added to the movie's title and the black widow actress chose her words carefully. Mark Cassidy Back in March Florence Pew announced that cameras were officially rolling on Thurndelbolts by sharing a video from the set to her Instagram page. The brief
Starting point is 00:42:53 clip highlighted Pew's updated outfit, a first look at Elena Belova taking aim on one of the monitors and the movie's official logo on the back of a chair which appeared to reveal the addition of an asterisk to the title. Marvel Studios later shared the video confirming that the super villain, well, anti-hero. Movie will now be officially known as The Thunderbolts. What's that mean? There are several theories, the most popular of which speculates that the Thunderbolts is
Starting point is 00:43:17 actually going to be a dark Avengers movie. Kevin Feigy did address the title change during Cinema Con last month, but said we'd have to wait until the film was in theaters to find out what it means. Olga, who will reprise her black little role as Task Masker, was asked about the asterisk during an interview with ScreenRant, and while she chose her words carefully, the actress did confirm the project has undergone some changes since it was first announced. Well, they changed a couple of things. That's all I can say. But that also doesn't say anything because obviously every movie is different, and in every movie things change. But yeah, it'll be different.
Starting point is 00:43:48 We'll see. There's nothing I can say. Okay. So this Dark Avengers thing to me tracks. It could be huge. The reason I think that what might have happened, again, same conversation that we had before, pure speculation, who knows, but I could see Iger going, I don't think anybody's going to know what Thunderbolt is. Maybe all the Marvel fans will know. We're not in the Guardians of the Galaxy phase anymore, where people are just going to see anything Marvel.
Starting point is 00:44:18 What can we do? We can put Dark Avengers as the title because it fits. That's good marketing. What else you got? You can see that happening. Also, just for anybody that's, you know, big into, like, the theories, like game theory, film theory. So Matt Pat, you know, he's retired off of it now. But the theory he did a while ago was that the Dark Avengers were coming.
Starting point is 00:44:43 And there's enough seeds that were in place. Thunderbolt Ross, U.S. agent, you know, all the task masks, all of these different characters. Like, you've seen them in a number of ways. There's what the Thunderbolts, obviously. There's the Dark Avengers. There's Masters of Evil. There's essentially you're looking at almost Legion of Doom slash Suicide Squad escort, these characters can kind of flop back and forth.
Starting point is 00:45:07 So other than the fact that the Dark Avengers just makes sense, you are spot on and what you're saying in that how do you market to the people that don't know what's going on? You use a term that they've heard before. And so now you've got to, including if the Dark Avengers are now around specifically, and you are next about to introduce the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. And so now all of a sudden, oh, do the X-Men fight the Dark Avengers? Do the Fantastic Four team up with what we're assuming the Young Avengers is eventually coming?
Starting point is 00:45:38 You're now able to throw these marketing, they're brands now, more so than just Marvel and MCU. The term Avengers is a brand that you can now use to leverage some things. And they need a big, big, big W-R-A. And we talked about it. a few times now between, you know, Deadpool, Captain America, those are both very marked names. Like those two, that one two punch from July to February,
Starting point is 00:46:00 those we think will at least have the comfort of being recognizable. But we were all saying, okay, next year after that is suddenly Thunderbolts and a little bit of a gap and then Blade and Fantastic Four. The only one we were all worried about was Thunderbolts. And I think now making it a Dark Avengers movie means, hey, let's just
Starting point is 00:46:16 make a billion dollars at the box of it. Like, let's make our year comfortable. Let's not worry about this little stop gap. Let's make it Dark Avengers. I don't know what said. No, no, no. I just realized why they moved to the Dark Avengers because that Montgomery boat brawl, they were calling that the Dark Avengers that came to say the Security Guard, they were like,
Starting point is 00:46:32 yeah, that's marketable as hell, go get them Dark Avengers. Also, though, remember that line that came out that we were both really concerned about, like, on air you read that thing where it was like, and the team name is because of her soccer team or something, and I was like, oh, no, no, no. And I was genuinely concerned.
Starting point is 00:46:48 What a great way to have a mislead that's so ridiculous. And now it could be intentionally justfully ridiculous. Just to do that. Yeah, it makes sense. I mean, this, because of the marking side of it, it's like that is going to bring in the casual viewer that will just, it will get, it almost trick people in a good way to say like, oh, there's a new Avengers movie coming out. It's like, well, yes and no. Yes and no.
Starting point is 00:47:09 This is Marvel's new thing where the new team, Florence Pugh's in it. You know her, right? Oh, yeah. And then so-and-so's in it. Oh, okay. And there's a lot of dark mirrors to characters. It's not a lie. Right.
Starting point is 00:47:18 It is a darker black widow, a darker cats in America, a darker Hulk. Right. And so that is how they can sell it by using the name. I think it's a very smart choice. They ought to find a way to bring Sylvie into it, to be honest with you. I think that that, like, you need your counter to Thor. I think if you bring in, like, I think Sylvie would be good because obviously Loki's, you know, the master's stories and the truth. The life tree. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:47 So I think that would be a cool way. Because if you're trying to also mirror one to one to your original team, I think that would be a smart way to do it. But it also makes sense because the team is so like super soldier heavy. It would make sense that a government entity that wants their own avengers would just have a bunch of super soldiers. So I think it's a good marketing idea in our world and in canon for the movie. Okay, final story here. Okay, Jonathan Nolan said that he will absolutely return to Batman franchise if the opportunity arises. Dark Night Trilogy writer Jonathan Nolan has expressed interest in returning to the franchise should.
Starting point is 00:48:19 the opportunity present itself, even though his brother Christopher Nolan isn't keen. Jonathan Nolan wrote The Dark Night and the Dark Night rises alongside his brother, and he's since shifted focus to small projects like Westworld and Fallout. Small. Well, small.
Starting point is 00:48:33 I don't know. I get it, but I just, it's a funny line. Right. Christopher Nolan has said on multiple occasions that he's done with Batman, while Christian Bale has vowed to only return if the director does, and as a result, we've come to accept this trilogy ended in 2012 and will be left alone.
Starting point is 00:48:47 However, in a new interview, Jonathan has made it clear that he'd be opening to returning to the Cape Crusader's world, even if his brother would take some convincing. Wouldn't that be a dream? That period was about 10 years of my life from when I got the call to work on Batman begins in 2003 to putting out the Dark Night Rises in 2012, and it was epic. The chance to work with Christian, Heath, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kane, and the extraordinary cast of those films, a sort of American icon.
Starting point is 00:49:11 So if I had the chance to go back and work on that again, absolutely. It's a nice thought, but with DC studios rebooting the DCU and the new Batman franchises, Reeves the Batman and Andy Mushieti's The Brave and the Bold, soon to dominate theaters, there's arguably no place for a revival of any sort. Had Warner Brothers planned crisis on Infinite Earth's movies become a reality, it's not outside the realm of possibility that Bell might have been talked into donning the Cape and Cal one more time. Chris was on defense about making another one. Jonathan previously said of how the Dark Night came to be.
Starting point is 00:49:39 I think he didn't want to become a superhero movie director. He was very proud of Batman begins, but to me it was like, we built this amazing sports car, and I'm like, let's take it for a drive. Don't you want to make another one? we spent an hour telling the origin story and that's great but it's like what more can we do with this can we take the same character and shift ever so slightly into a different genre can we go from an adventure film to a crime film to a mob movie and bring that
Starting point is 00:49:59 feeling into it um so I think that the possibility of Christopher Nolan returning is very slim but you never know I mean things can happen we never thought Michael Keat whenever returns Batman and that happened how many more years later and how many more movies is we want to make the last thing Christopher Nolan is going to do is follow up with Oppenheimer. I want to go back to Batman. He's just not going to do that right now.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Jonathan Nolan is also a possibility to do it overall. And there's no guarantee yet that Mushietti's going to stick with this project. I think that he will. But there's no guarantee yet that he will all the way through because I also think it's a careful thing where they have a lot of respect for him and they should to where they just kind of cut ties right away after Flash doesn't do well. It's going to look because, well, they didn't like Flash and they miscalculated and it's over now. scheduling conflicts, all those types of things possible to happen,
Starting point is 00:50:51 then Jonathan Nolan, or Jonathan Nolan could say, hey, I got a good take on this. And I don't know who's writing Mochieti's version of this thing, too. So there's always a possibility. I think we don't remember how good the writing was in those movies. I think we talk about, you know, rightfully, we talk about Nolan. We talk about Heath. We talk about Bail.
Starting point is 00:51:09 We talk about, I mean, I talk about Aaron Eckhart. But the writing is the reason those movies are so iconic. Some of the lines of dialogue are, it's some of the most quoted movies ever. Like, I believe in Harvey didn't campaign was genius. I think that the lines of dialogue that make Batman who he is in a short way, a lot of them come from Nolan, like, and from that trilogy. So we quote the movies and stuff. Sorry, you're right. Jonah Nolan.
Starting point is 00:51:31 Jonathan Nolan. And I think he doesn't get enough credit because writers aren't face, like they're not seen. So I think he'd be a great choice for a take on Batman. My concern would be if they're doing a Matt Reeves Batman to keep it like a detective and dark, I think they should go as far from that as possible with the in-uner. universe DCU Batman and have it be someone who's more comfortable around superheroes and that narrative makes more sense and obviously also apparent because Damien Wayne and that doesn't seem to be Jonathan Nolan's take on Batman. I would argue Jonathan Nolan's take is more akin to Matt Reeves' take than what they should do with a Damian Wayne take. I think the one thing that I always
Starting point is 00:52:07 pause for is because they were a writing duo on this. So my question becomes obviously he had a say in how this goes. How much was Jonathan's writing and Christopher's kind of throwing some stuff in because he's directing it. How much is it a full 50-50 split of them writing? How much of it is primarily Christopher being like, this is what I want, and then Jonathan made that come to light. Like, that's the only thing that gives me a baby bit of pause is obviously he's one of the writers on it, but they wrote it as a duo as well, to my knowledge.
Starting point is 00:52:36 So that's the only thing that would make me just pause for like half a second. You know what I mean? Is like how much was that magic of the two of them? If he even wrote half of it's always darkest before the dawn or, you know, you die a, like there's just, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, the most quotable superhero franchise. So I'll take half quotable. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:52:51 I get it. I totally get that. I just, I think about, like, Chappelle's show and, like, you think about Neil Brennan. And there's a lot that that's just Neil coming up with. There's a lot that's just Dave. And then the various elements that that,
Starting point is 00:53:02 how that plays out. That's a great point, because you watch Neil's specials and you watch Chappelle specials. You can see the Chappelle show in both of them, but neither of them have been that sense for better and worse. I'd be really curious because when I watch,
Starting point is 00:53:13 you know, fall out or Westworld. It doesn't feel like Batman at all. And that's not a slight of either, But I think it is a sweet sauce. Those two shows seem way more similar. Together. Together.
Starting point is 00:53:22 And they're both Jonathan Nolan style. Right. Because that shows you the difference of the collaboration with him and his brother. So that's why I think there might be wiggle room if you put Jonathan Nolan with somebody else outside of his brother. Because he clearly collaborates well. Right. But the question is he didn't necessarily say one way or another in that article if he's up for teaming up with someone other than Chris. It just talked about his experience from the past with Chris.
Starting point is 00:53:49 So is that something that he would, like, because everything in that article was talking about reflecting on that stuff. I'm going, look, if we could do another one, that would be great. Yeah. The world of Batman with them is one thing. The question is, is the world of Batman overall? Right. Because I'll even go so far as to say, here's the sports analogy for the day,
Starting point is 00:54:05 is, again, as far as duos go, Brady with Gronk was completely different than Brady with anybody else. You might put him with, like, say, you know, the receivers down in Tampa Bay, but until Grant got there, he was having a problem like making stuff pop off. So it's the same thing. Is Jonathan able to find that magic with someone else that he needs to win? Or will he still be good,
Starting point is 00:54:26 but it's not going to hit that bar? Yeah, I drive away dolls. I wanted to love, but without both Cohen's together, I didn't feel like it was Cohen brother. So that's a fair point. All right. So what do you guys think? Christopher Nolan?
Starting point is 00:54:38 Is he going to return? Jonathan Nolan, will he return without Christopher Nolan?
