tell me nothing today. It was so cool. Did you know that was going to happen last night? So Roxy was on Kimmel, by the way, and this happened. Who was that? Who was that? The craziest thing. Like, my phone was on, do not disturb.

And then I looked at it, and I had 10 missed calls from the producer of the movie, from my friend Dominic Burns. And I was like, did I, was I not supposed to post yet? Did I, I, I can understand why you feel, right? And he, and it said, rocks call me immediately. And I was like, oh, my God. And so he was like, if you're on the West Coast, Kimmel's about to air and you're on it. And I was like, that's so cool.

I know for like a lot of people, probably that's a very small minor thing. No way. I thought that was minor. Well, it's just like, I mean, it's just my face for a second. but for me, I feel like the coolest person on planet Earth. I was like, you've got to be kidding to that. The one scene that they chose to show. You were in.

I'm in. That's so cool. And you were very good in the movie. I saw the movie. It came out Christian today, so you can say anything. Oh, okay, great. So I watched it. I got a chance to see it.

The publicist team was very kind. They actually sent, it was funny. They sent them, who's that? Who's doing that? Who is that? Is this like when I, when somebody was playing with that toy? and I kept saying. No, no, it's my, it's, my writing partner is becoming my, my, my new, doing the same that my wife does. She calls, she calls live during, during the, every single time.

So. I mean, the nicest message, Christian. I did. Yeah. And you saw the movie before I did. I know, which is great. And so the publicist team was like, hey, do you would, not knowing anything. So would you want to review this, see this? And I was like, well, I'd like to see it because my co-host is in it. And they sent me a link right away. And I said, and I said, and talked about the movie. So the movie is essentially, you know, she's in, she's, Kate Beck and sale is like this badass who is in this,

she's, she's a criminal, I guess, you can say. She has a past. She's got a past. But, you know, she gets herself into some shit and she's got to get to this club. That's all I'll say. And when she gets the club, she's looking for, uh, She's looking for somebody and and somebody is is help found by one Roxy Stryer.

And man, I, I, it's so cool to watch to see you in that scene and to see you, you have, you told me about your improv line. Yeah. And I love that it made it. I love that I mean it. I was stoked about that. Yeah, I was really happy about that. It got a couple of chuckle.

So it's just like the best feeling on planet Earth. Why would you be? Like when you just want something so bad and part of it's happening and stuff. And also it gives me more leverage to be in your TV show. It does. It does. It does indeed. Which I'm having coffee with the director on Mark.

I mean, it's, and then the other thing was I watched a movie that, because we brought, you know, one of the producers in. we've we've we were the director and producer and I watched the movie that the producer did and thank god I loved it like I loved it that would that would be a problem but I was like okay but but but I watched and I loved it I absolutely loved it so I was so I was so I was excited I was going back and forth to

last night about how much I loved it and even looking at it I want to watch I will no but you would love it. You would, it is, um, it is so, um, up your alley. You would, you would love it. This is super unrelated, but Mikey, I like your haircut. Oh, thanks, Rox. I just woke up. I didn't comb it. Where are you? Where are you? You look like like a press tour. Boston. Roxy was- You watch it yet? Do you watch it yet? I'm going to watch it this weekend. Roxy was texting me about the documentary Age of Disclosure. You know what's hilarious about it. I remember what I told you, I said,

the most important, I don't, and I feel like when I watch it, I'm going to say the same thing. There's not going to be a lot of new things that I watch, that I'm going to find so new or like I've heard all this. But I said that the most important thing

about that document, is that it's starting conversation with people that weren't aware of the stuff that was going on that we have been aware of for like three years and that was kind of made clear to me yesterday because I was sitting here and getting some work done and and Katie Sackoff had texted me and and she's like hey do you want to go on my live stream on my pay for Patreon which we'll release today talking about age of disclosure and I was like Yeah, because she is not a UFO person. I can't even tell you how many times I tried to bring up to her when I was producing, and she was just like, you might as well been, you know, talking to me about.

Did she DJ about it where she was, or she just was not aware? Not, not to that extent, but, you know, but that certainly adds into one of the reasons of why she just can't, you know, like most people just can't fathom it, but a friend of hers watched it and said, you've got to, you've got to watch this. It's going to change. your worldview me it didn't she watched it but it didn't change her role view but it but it got her talking about the conversation we so that's what we talked about yesterday i'm really curious your thoughts and i like you obviously i like you too oh what and it that does happen when i preamble pre rambled

doesn't matter yeah both um okay so what i was gonna say was like you i am super embedded in this world now you are more embedded than i am but i have been embedded for longer so yeah waiting for this for like a moment like this for so long. And so I knew everything in the doc pretty much like you will too, except for the thing I text you about. Right. Yeah. Which I'm surprised more people aren't talking about because it's the first time it offers up a theory on why we don't have as many clear images as we should, why there is actual health risks to people that are nearby UAPs, why they're able to make 180 turns, why they're able to travel the way they are. It's They introduced a new theory in this that I hadn't heard of before.

That was really interesting. It's not a huge part of it, but I'm glad that they were providing at least knowledge. Yeah, they were just providing. They have some unbelievable scientific minds that are providing. And I'm going to talk about it in my TV picks, even though it's on a TV thing. I just, I need people to watch it. Sure. That it's like, it's incredible to.

It's on TV. You can't see it in the theater. So it's on TV. Right. It's on TV. Yeah. How crazy is that? I honestly, Christian was so happy that you have.

me your thing because I texted you I think this should be nominated for an Oscar. I know, but the problem is like I said, and this is one of the things that I was like, because it was myself, Katie, and her producer that were on the call together and he said what I feared for most people. like watch this. I know exactly where you can go. Mike, would you watch this? If you were curious about it? You know what we're talking about it? The UAP stuff. Yeah, but if it was like, okay, this is the thing that we're basically military pilots, government officials talking about it.

And I was like, okay, look, I want you to watch it. What are you going to say? Well, if you asked you to watch it, I'll watch it. Right, but follow up with that. Like, I was like, okay, you're going to watch it. So go watch it. And then the next question would be. So you after I watched it?

No, well, we're essentially, they don't want to keep setting you down this road. Where can I watch it? You're going to say, where can I watch? Right. Right. I'm going to tell you you got to rent it for 19 bucks and you go, I'm not going to watch it. Right. Right.

Exactly. And that, and you're not wrong for saying that. That's the problem with this documentary and a lot of the difference with this documentary that say like, there's James Fox, who is a very renowned UAP director. His last movie, same thing. A lot of these, you got to, if they're not picked up, like the way that I found this whole topic or gotten interested in it a little bit more, rather, was through. But it was national. No, no, it wasn't.

The article was intriguing when we were on Clare Live. But that's not what really got me to get it. No, because I had taken. such a, I was break on it. And it was when I was at home watching on Discovery Channel, but not Discovery, National Geographic, which I have, I didn't pay 19 bucks for. I watched the documentary. And then I was like, oh, now I want to go down to Remed Yeah. Yeah, I'm with you. The problem is it was probably so pricey to make. Sure. You got to get picked up. No one picked up. Netflix should have picked it up. And I think it would have

annihilated there. I still think it has Oscar Hope, though, because it has such buzz and right now it is making mainstream media. People are talking about it. Reviews aren't very good, though. That's so annoying. Yeah, I know. This morning, I told you guys, I'm seeing that guy. Oh, yeah, how's it going?

This morning I said to him, I have to be honest with you. It's very important to me that you watch this document. I love that. Well, it's 94% on the on the popcorn meter. 94%. Tomato meter doesn't actually, it only has eight reviews.

So it doesn't really... It's so excellently done. I can't wait for you to see how well done. Yeah, it's Dan Farrah. I mean, I'm not surprised. Yeah, of course. I really want you, once you watch it, can you immediately text me?

Sure, and it is, and someone's like, is it really mainstream? This one is the most mainstream out of all of it. You're South by Southwest. It's the amount of coverage that it received through national news as well. I mean, like I saw it on Jake Tapper covered it, Fox covered.

Everybody covered it and not just in like a segment. They had him on and it shows you the difference when you have someone like a Dan Faradine. Anyway, so that's out there now. if it is something that Amazon won. That would be very helpful. I'm hoping. So we'll see. Okay, so other things to discuss. You guys, you're going up against Roka again. He beat you last week. This week, I think you got, you could get them.

You're already at 10, 46 is what we're going for today. It's amazing to me. Like he had like 1-0-something, right? 106 last week. And then like to do 46, like I'm like, there's no rhyme or reason anymore.

No, and he had a good amount of viewers watching too. Made no sense. Do you think it has more to do with the vibe of the show or the title of the show? Topic. Top of the title. Yeah, yesterday was about Wicked. And it was, you know,

the Wicked had crushed overall. But it was, it wasn't, you know, live is weird man like i said live is such a strange like i was on to like youtube like a person in general the algorithm is so bizarre and how live works i know people with millions of subscribers and they're lucky if they get 800 live viewers or the million subscribers 800 and it has nothing to do with lack of interest of their channel because their channel's crushing it's the algorithm's not pushing yeah i see that too like i always watch the reject podcast

live because I do clip outs for the channel and because I like watching Garden White and we they have 1.5 million subscribers and sometimes there will be 500 people watching it's crazy and it has nothing to do it and it's a good quality and it's good it has nothing to do with oh people aren't interested people don't know that it's happening it's not pushed out as much and that's the thing for people watching now you want to help out the channel right now for everybody who is watching just click like it's engagement and it's all that people just forget but it's one of the things out the the YouTube live algorithm it's it's really bizarre. You think it's going to shift again?

I mean, I hope so. I don't know. I mean, I don't know how it works. I really don't understand how it works because you'll, you'll put it out there and people will just, like, and I'm telling you, like, it's weird. If it was just like, if I was looking,

I was like, okay, we're getting 300 to 700 per stream. Like, that's our number. But then like you said, you look at like, like, I saw Greg and Coy were live the other day. And there was a great show. It barely had 400 viewers. something like that's not that has nothing to do with that people are clearly interested in that show yeah it's just it's they're not pushing it yeah it is odd i i'm curious because they're

going to have to do something the are you doing the simultaneous yeah we try it it has they they give you these tips to try to do in the the vertical it it does nothing it does nothing and i i saw that there was it was more uh live viewers by a little but then they can't see other in the chat. Right. And it splits my views on the two videos afterwards. Well, and then the other thing that Luke had a great idea at, he goes, you know, what we should do is we want to get the clips channel and more people who notice in Clips Channel.

You collaborate with the main channel. And then we did that. And then the people's, the whole point of the reason I don't put clips on this channel is I don't want to bombard people, you know, subscriptions, their feed. So that's what it does when you collaborate and people are like one of our longtime port, Cal, he like I don't subscribe to this channel. He said, well, why don't I keep seeing this? Do I need to unsubscribe to the main channel?

Like, no, no, no, we just stopped doing that because I don't want to, I didn't want to do that to people. That's horrible. That's weird that it does that. Yeah, it's weird. It's not the other things you don't want it to push out, not the other things. I know. It helped the Clips Channel.

The Clips Channel numbers had gone up, but I'm not going to sacrifice the main channel for that. It's being closed channels, and you brought her up earlier. Christian, I have developed a complete parissocial relationship with Katie Zach off. Oh, hilarious. I am obsessed with her. It's hilarious. You should have a, yeah.

But if you don't know, I work on her show. And I'm like, truly, like, I am such a diehard fan of her. That's hilarious. Yeah, she's a really good person. She sent me a very nice text this morning, and she said she missed us kind of going back and forth and being on the air together. And I was like, yeah, me too. Tell her, I say, you're very pretty and smart and talented.

I like you a lot. Have you met her before, though, right? Yeah, I have. I have. No, I've definitely. before and like had met her several times just probably she couldn't pick me out from a lineup and I watch her for hours a week so so but you know I just did a pluribus right now um you know I was telling you I'm refusing to watch her because everybody likes it right so I just saw

um fucking child yeah no no but there was there was a there was a new one that said um where was it there is I'm trying to look at this comment oh it was from Ackerton two or three or so when do they start talking about Batman now I'm I'm like, now I'm going to wait until like the last five minutes. Now, it's how about the last five minutes of the show. That's what I'm going to do it. It's like now that now that you've asked me and you can't and you have you're, it's a live show that you're tuning for two hours. And if you got, if you got to watch it right now, I'll, you know, the answer is whenever, whenever.

I feel like really we should focus more on getting the super chats and and beating Roka this week. And beating Roka. Yeah. No, we'll talk. We'll talk about it eventually. Not to brag, but I was on Kimmel. So, amazing. Yeah. So whenever we talk about it, that's what we'll talk about it.

James Gunn replies to post-fancasting Superman finalist Tom Brittany as Batman. James Gunn has curiously responded to a post-fancasting former superman hopeful as Batman. Could this be a sign that DC Studios has founded Starc Night?

A lot of mystery surrounding the DCUs Batman. The burning question on everyone's mind is, who will end up playing? Multiple fans have floated around online from Brandon Sclenard to Alan Ristin. Unfortunately, with the Brave and the Bowl not looking to be any closer, and Batman not expected to show up in 2026. By face, the casting of the Cape Cicator seems to be quite far away. Or is it?

In an unexpected turn of events, we may emphasize on May, gotten a tease about DCUs Dark Night for a surprising source. James Gunn recently posted a picture showcasing these storyboards for his Superman follow-up manna tomorrow, which he is gearing up to start shooting in April. A fan replied to the post with a picture of Tom Brittany, who was one of the finalists to play Clark Kent and Superman captured with. Bruce says, Murman emoji.

For context, the Murman emoji was featured in Peacemaker and is regularly used by gun on social media. Surprisingly, Gunn actually replied saying, that guy is a great effing actor. So there you go. Post has very little engagement, so it's curious. that Gunn chose to specifically reply to it, likely being aware of the attention it would garner. The director enjoys teasing future announcements with sneaky little social media posts. A good example is the time he posted an image of Mr. Triffick prior to him being announced as part of the suburban cast.

Furthermore, there's history between Brittany and D.C. As mentioned, the actor was one of the top contenders for the role of Clark Kent alongside David Cornswet. And here's a key thing to consider. If he likes an actor enough during an audition, Gunn keeps him in mind for future roles. This is a common practice in the industry, but the director appears particularly fond of it. Big example is Nicholas Holt, we got the role of Lex after being a finalist for Superman. It's not the first time he's praised Brittany either. 2024, fan on threads asked him if he was true that the actor had worn and torn.

Henry Cavill's made a steel costume for his audition. He said, yes, Tom messed it up, and then Quincewit came in. He was too tall, so it just got torn her shreds. By the way, Tom is truly one of my favorite actors, incredibly talented guy. Let's see. Anything else there? Superman, Batman, yada, yada, yada. Okay, that's good enough.

So, Roxy, I don't know this guy. Is he a TV guy? I'm looking at his credits right now. He was on a show called Unreal, which I did watch back in the day. That was the one that was like a scripted Bachelor. If you remember that show. Okay. A long time ago.

I haven't seen do you guys know any of this stuff back in action, Grandchester, Fred Invasion, which is a show that he was on one episode of Greyhound which is that movie with Tom Hanks Okay, yeah, no, no. Yeah, he's done some stuff. I just, he's unfamiliar to me.

He's obviously gorgeous, looks like a superhero, not surprising that he's on guns radar from the UK. Gun casts a lot of people from the UK. Yeah, but I don't have that much more information on this. Usually, Christian, exactly what you were,

I was like, oh, he must be a TV guy. I must know him from somewhere. Right, that's what I thought. So, I mean, apparently he really likes a mic. Do you think that this means he's probably going to get something? I think it means nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing.

Okay. Nothing. Good buzz for him. PR dream for him. Yeah, I do think it, I do think it means he'll be cast in something. I do. I don't know if it means he'll be cast and something. because Gunn liked the picture of him and says he's a good actor?

The fact that he's done two posts about how much you really likes him as an actor, I think he'll probably get something. When David Denman came on the rejects, he was talking about how many times he auditioned for Gun before he booked Peacemaker. And he was saying, like, you know, he went out for X thing, Y, thing, Z, And Gunn just kept saying, I want to work with you. And then finally found the role for him. Obviously, like this article says, that's very common.

Famously, Stephen Amel auditioned for David Rappaport before Arrow like 15 times. Right. So if you like somebody, you will just keep bringing them in. So nothing about this is surprising. Like, he likes an actor, I think for sure at some point he'll cast that actor. In what, how big, I have no idea. But clearly he's boosting his radar. too and you don't think you don't think it means that he's that he's a batman no i definitely

definitely don't think it means he's bad man i think brendan sclinar's bat man i think that i think but brendan sclinar should be and i think he is so you do you think he's going to be castes as bad yes i do okay i hope you're right i hope you're right i think that sometimes gunn likes to cast against what people he does he does because if you know sometimes i think that can hurt people if it's like, well, so-and-so things and, you know, I like this guy better. Maybe I'll do that instead. But, you know, I saw somebody post like, why are we even talking about this?

Gun's not even going to have a job. It's like, come on. But what I will say is, Jesus Christ. What I will say that, I can't. I know, but Brave and the Bold, though, by the way. Oh, my fucking head. Can I actually ask Mikey a follow up on that before you say, why, why can't

you with that? Like, you're worried that's going to happen or you are going to? No, he's tired. He's tired of the, no, I, like, The fact that because these clowns don't like what James Gunn's doing with Superman, they think he's going to lose his job because the merger, like, I don't even think Gunn's worrying about the merger because that's out of his control. But like... So, Mikey, you think there's no way Gunn's going to lose his job?

I think the people that are saying this are the people that think Saudi Arabia is going to buy Warner Brothers and give Zach Snyder a blank check to bring back a franchise that it is what like do you do people think like let's say there's 30,000 people that want that back. You think a company, a studio is going to make that for that like my head hurts fucking thinking about this. I'm going to say this once, get it on the air. I was one of the people that love his Justice League movie. I own it. I think it was great.

I also think Warner Brothers green lighting that was the worst mistake they've ever made in the history of that corporation making decisions for filmmaking. Like, what it emboldened in people that they think, like, I, the rage in my head, like, that's my favorite thing in the world. It's, it's, these people that, like, have no ever been in the industry. They don't understand the industry. They don't understand what goes into making movies. and they think that

James, like, yeah, he's writing the second movie. They've got storyboards. They're going with it. But nope, he's gone. He's gone. Like, what, in what world? Like that ship, Roxy, we've been on D.C. Since the beginning of it.

We've been on it since the beginning. We've been there. We've been there. You know, I see what's going on now. Like, I mean, I just saw it with the real rejects. Like, they're getting a lot of flack for the BBS thing that they love now and they didn't like it back then. And I, you know, I, you know me, rocks, the shit I got in 2016 for liking that movie.

Like I, I was a supporter from the beginning of it all. But I also understand that it didn't work. And I also understand that this new regime came in and they had to change it. And it does work. Yeah. Doesn't work to the way that they wanted to because it's not making, but man, a steel made 13 years ago. Because box offices, as you guys know, is the exact same as it. was 13 years ago. And nothing has happened in our world in 13 years that has changed box

office, you know, but just the, it is one of the few things I do like watching you tweet about, but I will say, I tangent to us, but I just want to know, that's okay. It was worth it. It was worth it. But I will say the other thing to, I think, I think all three of us are on the same page here, maybe not. I don't think there's a world where any Muscietti, A, is doing Brave in the Bold and I wouldn't be surprised if the Brave and the Bold isn't the movie that they do. I think that they could switch it. Isn't the movie that they DC does? Yeah, they could switch it. I mean, Brave of the Bold still is a possibility, but I only

there's any world. You mean in title or in plot? In plot. Yeah. Um, I don't know about Andy. Um, I don't know. You, you think for sure. I would I would say you got a better shot of, uh, Chinoy, Roxy, Abed Shinoi from... How many times did I have to ask you what you were saying? A million. But I think you got a better shot of her directing that Ray movie than you do him.

I like Muscietti. I don't really know. I liked her for what she did in the Marvels. I just don't know if she's right for the Ray movie, but who knows? Maybe we'll say maybe I'm wrong. Mike, do you think there's no way that Annie Machete is directing Raven Bowl? I don't know with that. To be honest, I don't know.

I just... But Mike, it's the same thing. Remember, this is something... I remember this with people within the Shmowdown, when I would say there is no world Ryan Johnson is going to be directing that trilogy. I was saying for almost 10 years when it was right after the Last Jedi. And I remember having a conversation with someone who's thrown out like, yeah, right, you'll see. You'll see it. And then these people tweeting it out, what are they going to say when that happens?

Well, Collider just confirmed, officially dead, not happening, was never going to happen. Toast. And that's the same thing with these two. Yeah, I can't say for that. I don't know. For a new box office, Mojo, the film was quarterly tracking for a massive 200 plus million opening in China.

is that the relationship between Judy Hopps and Nick, right? That's the essence of the whole thing. It takes place right after the first one, and they have this new adventure, what they have to do. There's new characters that they also introduce. And it's a little long. It's a little long. It's like 145 to me, which is a little long for animated.

But I really enjoyed watching it. I really think Jennifer Goodwin is so good as Judy Hopps and the relationship with her and Bateman. And I've got a special place for this movie, too, because it reminds me of my, my oldest one I took her to see it when she was so little, and now my little one loves it. So it's, it's one of those things to me. So I, I think this movie's going to do very well. I think a lot of people feel that way. But Mike, were you a, you a Utopia guy?

Netflix made it pretty clear that they see streaming, not theatrical. exhibition as the future. Even as they have been experimenting more and more with short-lived releases in cinemas. Now, recently Netflix was one of the three major companies alongside Paramount and Comcast to submit bids for acquiring Warner Brothers' discovery. Those bids were due on Thursday

last week. Little has been heard about them since, beyond Netflix supposedly saying that they acquire Warner Brothers, then Warner Bros. Pictures would get theatrical releases. Now speaking with the town's Matt Maloney, Avatar filmmaker, James Cameron, revealed that he's hoping for Paramount to be the winning bid in that race and has little

in the way of restraint regarding his thoughts on Netflix attitude towards cinemas. Cameron, he says, I think Paramount is the best choice. Netflix would be a disaster. Sorry, Ted, but geez, Seratos has gone on the record saying theatrical films are dead. Theatrical is dead, quote, unquote. Baloney. He's now promising theaters. He didn't say baloney.

The guy's name is baloney. He's now promising theaters. I knew Mike was going to like that stupid joke. Cameron, it's sucker bait. We'll put the movie out for a week or 10 days. We'll qualify for Oscars consideration. See, I think that's fundamentally rotten to the core. A movie should be made as a movie for theatrical,

and the Academy Awards mean nothing to me if they don't meet theatrical. I think they're being co-opted, and I think it's horrific. Bologna, no, no, no. You don't think they should be allowed to complete for Oscars? Compete for Oscars, Cameron. They should be allowed to compete if they put the movie out for a meaningful release in 2000 years for a month. Netflix has multiple titles,

buying for awards this year, including Frankenstein, Jay Kelly, train dreams. All of them got brief rollouts on a few hundred screens for awards qualification. They launched Wake Up, Dead Man, Knives Out Mystery, and Cinemas this week ahead of it in December 12th. I'm on the same page with him in a certain aspect, but not in others, right? So Jay Baloney. So I think that the one thing that I agree with, look, the idea of

St. Theatrical is dead and he's the one guy Cameron, I can go, oh yeah, watch this. And then $2.5 billion later, it clearly not dead. But there's a case to be made, it's

a streaming world right now. Where I don't agree with him, though, is the Oscar thing. Movies are movies. Movies are movies. And Oscars are supposed to be it's not who's got the best theatrical movie, it's who has the best movie. So if somebody makes,

and this is just because of the politics involved, they'll never happen, but if somebody made the best movie ever, maybe someone was able to make their, they're rocky, and they were able to make it for a million dollars, but they couldn't get theatrical distribution, and Amazon Prime got it

because it was easy for them to buy it and put it out there. and everybody agrees. Two billion people saw it and say it's the best movie ever. It should be nominated for an award. Just because it wasn't in theatrical, I don't think should disqualify it. I've never agreed with that logic.

Movies are movies. It's about the best movies. But I do, what I do disagree, Roxy, with the idea of theatrical is dead. But I do think also, if Netflix gets it, that they would keep Warner Brothers alive. I think that would be their fix to this pushback. you say? Imagine being at a place in your career where you could say this out. That's true.

That's true. I just kept thinking when I was reading this, he's, James Cameron is so untouchable that he didn't mind saying I will never work with Netflix. It's not what I want. It's not my strategy. Like Martin Scorsese put out a movie on Netflix and couldn't have said something like this. So it's just funny. And you're right. He's like the one guy where when he says it, I'm kind of like, yeah, his whole MO is big blockbuster. Gotta watch it in the theater. Got to watch it in theater. I also always am going to respect any artist

who still wants to get butts in theaters. It is a very concerning time to be in the entertainment industry as the three of us know very well and a lot of our audience knows because a lot of the people who watch the show are in the industry. So I too think that we want to push more people in the theaters and still have those great big blockbusters. But I'm also majorly with you, Christian,

where the best is the best, and a lot of time best is based on script, based on plot, based on emotional arcs and characters. So if that's the best movie, and you don't think it should be nominated because of where it was shown, that's pretentious.

Right. Yeah, and it's old school, right? It's old school. But Mike... That's a better way to phrase it than pretentious. But I just I don't like You know like now that we have all have you talked about the verticals agreement that took place this week That SAG is now including verticals and

Verticals are now covered under SAG you know the literal the vertical people no who don't know it's when things are shot vertically But they're scripted narrative series they're now covered under SAG contract But it's just it's interesting that I think one day I I will probably be the old geezer who's like, I don't know that that thing should be existing or nominated or whatever. As things change like AI, like verticals and things that I'm kind of like scratching my head about. So I also get why he's scratching his head about Netflix movies being nominated

when he's like, I came up in a time where you had to spend a ton of money, put in all your out, go this certain path, do this certain thing. Yeah, it's like, because there's a certain, there's a pride about getting people in the theater to go. see your movie, right? I mean, 100%. But it's just a different world. It reminds me, Mike, kind of like with Howard Stern, right? When Howard Stern for a long time, I don't know if it's changed now, I'm sure it has, but he would never say it. He was a big advocate of how podcasting isn't broadcasting, and podcasting, it's not traditional radio. Traditional radio is the way it has been.

That's the way he did it. And you had to get it on the air and you've got to get people to listen to your show and podcasting was the easy way. Now, podcasting has surpassed, you know, radio by tens of millions of people. So, um, exaggerating. You know what I'm saying. So what do you I don't think you are exaggerating? No, do you see the similarities, Mike, what I'm talking about here? And what do you think of Cameron's, um, um, I don't know if I use that analogy because at its core, it's still someone talking into a microphone and you're listening to them. whereas, you know, I think I'm a generation ahead of Roxy. And I don't know, maybe it's interesting with you and I,

because we're the same age, but we're vastly different thinking. I think this Netflix thing is, I think it's awful. I think it's terrible. We're going to put it in theaters for just a week, just to get that qualification so we can, part of me is like,

why did Netflix do you care about the award then? Why do you care about the prestige that comes with it? Because their creators care. So it's like, I, I forgot what there's a director that just said this recently and I forgot who it was. I just read it. There's just something about going to a movie and being in that room with people and the lights are down and it's a different experience.

And again, maybe I'm old school. Like it's like I just and you guys know how hard it is for producers to find distribution on stuff. Like you talk about this UAP thing to find distribution. It's so hard to even get it in a theater. Netflix, every Tom Dick and Harry's got a thing on Netflix. So you can get on it. They've got, you know, so where's the, where's the blood, sweat, and tears to get your project there? Oh, my God, Mike.

I would cut off a finger to have a product picked up by Netflix. If every Tom, Dick, and Harry can do it. Why can't I? I don't think it's- What do you have, Rock? Where's your product? I have. Do you know that I'm making a movie right now, or do you not know that?

But where is it? Is it ready for distribution? No, but that's not what Netflix really does anymore. They don't pick up for distribution as much as they sign on as a production. I'm just saying like, again, it's old school. No, I just, I did the stupidest thing that anyone would ever do. You muted me and sneak. I muted you and Mike and coughed into the microphone.

Instead of muting myself and letting you speak. I was like, is Christian honest to not talk about this? No, I caught. I muted, I muted you guys so they could hear my cough into the microphone. That was so great. Literally sitting here, pouring my heart out. Just coughing. Yeah, they really, they don't pick up things as much now,

unless they end up, like, doing extremely well. Most of these places don't. Even Amazon, like Amazon, with Hasbin Hotel and Hell of the Boss, they did that. They picked those up from. YouTube, but for the most part, all of these companies now, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, they're all making their own products that they're then distributing. So it is, I do think you kind of have to be in bed with some of these companies in order to do it. I totally hear where you're coming

from, Mikey. The system's weird. Like, I feel the same way you do in some sense. Like, okay, so if your whole thing is streaming, then why are you going to theaters at all? Then just kind of stay in the way. Just do streaming. But I think it's because they have to make the business move to be able to get the big wigs. People don't want to sign on to their movie if they're not up for possible award contention. I mean, look at the whole Greta Gerwig thing. But that's the thing then. It's like, what's the point of like you guys think you can do what you want to do?

Clearly you need actors. Clearly you need directors. Of cachet that's names bring value. Like, I mean, I'm old school. I'm a Tom Cruise. I'm a James Cameron guy. And not just training for it, but like the one-two punch of watching those things together, you get to see her interoperable. acting with like Glenn Close goes to the Kardashian house to watch fatal attraction with Kim for the first time. So it just makes the show more fun because you're watching other things. The other

thing I'll say about the show Christian is and this is I really mean it the way I say it's not that bad. It's not that bad. To have a zero percent is actually I've bingeed the whole thing up until last night. It is enjoyable if you like. Girl. boss, lawyer, television, if that sounds good to you, it's actually enjoyable. So, I feel like people are shredding this for no reasons. Is it the best show on

And so it's really cool to see like when they shoot her action moments, when they're shooting her facial expressions. And then her stunt double was a fucking beast. I was like, I mean, you're doing it for hours and hours. And then watching it put together and it moves like that. Because I'm sitting here like, how could you have to brain to know where you have to? Because they'd be like, okay, walk by, kick him again. No, kick one inch to the right. No kick half a centimeter to the right.

Like, it's so technical for the cuts when you have a double and stuff. It was really, I honestly, in the shots that I know that I wasn't in, I was like marking notes down. Right, right. It was crazy to see. And that was like the coolest part of the whole thing for me was watching that. I just, I love action movies and being able to see that. Sick.
