So anyway, we're going to have some fun today talking about stuff going on in the world of entertainment, Superman News, everybody's all up in arms over the box office stuff we've got some interesting comments from george miller on

Yo, what's up, welcome, everybody. I know you like the low-key opening,
Starting point is 00:01:41 but this is the actual John Roca here. A lot of energy, a lot of excitement for a Thursday morning. We are on the precipice of a weekend. I know a lot of you who are struggling through the job, struggling through the week this week. And it's hairy out there. You will look forward to the chance to go out there and walk in the sun and maybe sit out on the beach
Starting point is 00:02:00 or take a hike or hang out with your friends or go see a movie, although some of the reviews for Toronto, haven't been that great, so maybe you'll have to find another movie. Maybe go see one battle after another again. We'll see. But I can't thank you all enough for joining us here this morning. Christian Harlov is out for this morning because he's got other things going on here for the channel
Starting point is 00:02:19 that's going to benefit all of you who love his content here on the channel. So I appreciate you all sticking around and hang out with me. And of course, the great Steph Sabra. How are you, Steph? How are you, Steph? Hi. Good. Okay, so I have some thoughts on the Thursday content and we can all discuss.
Starting point is 00:02:36 throughout the bring it. Oh, what, what? Where did you go? I don't know. Stop messing with shit, Luke. I got it.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Hi, Luke. Um, if you have a hard week, it's a tumultuous Thursday because you're just like getting through it to the Friday. If you're like, my week's done, then it's a thirsty Thursday.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Oh. You know, there's multiple ways you can take it. And in terms of, you guys, how fun would it be? if Roka and I won today. Come on now.
Starting point is 00:03:10 I need it. I don't even know what the number. Yeah. I don't know either. Let's just break the record. 150. Let's go. Well,
Starting point is 00:03:20 I think the record is 300 something. Let's go 150. But that was, of course, seven-hour Avengers, Avengers Doomsday. Oh, yeah. But yeah, please send in your super chats here.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Everybody, let's get, let's challenge, Winston and Chris Carr tomorrow. So come on everybody. Send in your super chats as we go along. What about thick thighs Thursday? Is that a thing? I don't know if that is that.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I love that. That's amazing. As a proud member, that would be perhaps my day then. I save lives Thursday. Always. Always. I used to be so self-conscious that my
Starting point is 00:04:05 thighs were bigger than any guy I had ever met. What? Really? Yes, because when you're growing up, like, yeah, when you're growing up, you don't know what's cool, what's not, like, how to know that you like your own body. And it was weird because girls just generally, not always, but tend to be smaller than men. And so it was like everything about, I'm shorter, I have smaller arms, but all of a sudden, I have twice the size of thighs. it was a weird complex to work through.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Now I'm like, this is amazing. But sometimes things take time. I think that's a great lesson. That's a great lesson for Thursday morning. Everybody, if you're struggling through something, you never know. It can always turn around and be in your benefit. I always think that's true.
Starting point is 00:04:55 We discovered that you get over, right? The things that you are made fun of are actually the things that end up becoming the things that people love about you. Totally. I just saw that. It's so cringe, but it really reminds you, A, to be nice to everyone and just like, shut up if you're going to say something rude.
Starting point is 00:05:15 But the Michael B. Jordan, he's walking a carpet for a movie he's starring in. Yes. And this girl goes, like, flags him down. And you could just tell, like, he's already like, okay. And you're like thinking, what's going to happen? Right. Is he going to be a dick? What's going on here?
Starting point is 00:05:32 So we go way back and he's like, oh, yeah, we do. I'm the corny kid. I'm the corny kid right. And I guess she called him the corny kid, but it's like, look at him now. Yeah. Yeah. That's one of the truths in life for any generation, any high school generation, the people who you thought were going to make it don't make it.
Starting point is 00:05:54 And the people who you made fun of or didn't think we're going to do anything, accomplish a lot of things in life. You never know. The try hard. The try hards end up being really cool. in the future. Yeah, yeah, agreed, agreed. But we are here. Thank you to everybody's already setting in super chats. Appreciate it. We have five already. Let's get it going. Let's get it going. 67 is what we have to be.
Starting point is 00:06:14 I'll be damned if we can't get 100 today. We can do this. We can do this. Give us some love, everybody. We're giving you positive thoughts to start off the show. So come on, get on top of it. But anyway, let's get into the first stuff here. Luke, what do we got to let's get into some Superman stuff? I think it's the first thing we're to talk about. let's not get too dramatic, but let's talk about it here. Let's bring it up. There's a new report here, Steph, that may clear up whether the first DC Studios movie turned a box office profit or not. Superman's box office run ended after 84 days. That's kind of mind-blowing. Less than three months was its entire run at the box office. However, we got a surprisingly early digital debut on August 15th, which may or may not have been to do with Peacemaker's Season 2 coming out.
Starting point is 00:06:58 As you can tell, I like to shop Adidas shoes there. barely month after the man of steel swooped into theaters on July 11th. The first DC Studios movie has since premiered HBO Max, landed on 4K as well, combining $354 million from the North American box office, $260 million, 661 million, rather, from the international ticket sales. It's run ended with $615 million plus. Makes it the highest grossing Super Bowl movie 2025, right? And it's previously been reported that Superman had $225 million production budget
Starting point is 00:07:25 with an additional $125 million spent on marketing. So what was the reboot a hit? Well, Forbes explained a recent financial breakdown that, quote, given that films generally split their ticket sales 50 to 50-50 with theater owners, this means that Superman's theatrical net equates to nearly $308 million. The amount, of course, does not reflect any residuals that are being paid out or other miscellaneous expenses associated with the film. Even going with the $308 million before taking the other expenses into account,
Starting point is 00:07:50 Superman's net falls below the $350 million Warner Brothers spent on the production of the film and marketing. So chances are that Superman didn't make a profit from theatrical revenue alone. from various ancillary sales, merchandise digital and physical media sales are taking their account, not to mention intro max subscription. Superman almost certainly made money for Wonderberg,
Starting point is 00:08:08 Discovery, and DC Studios. Let's just stop there. And, of course, it was crucially well received by the fan. So, Steph, you hear this news, you see this stuff, like, what is it? What do you take away from this?
Starting point is 00:08:21 I take away that there's a lot that's a success, and there's a lot that just signifies more what's going on with movie going experiences worldwide in general and just where the movie theater is at. And so it's like you have to take it with a grain of salt and there is like nuance to it. But in terms of its wins, I think that it's important that not that I like DC and Marvel, but it is cool for them that for the first time ever, they do have a higher grossing film
Starting point is 00:08:52 in in the year than Marvel. I think that's awesome, especially for it being James Gunn's first movie. big movie for DC like this. And then I do think it made a good amount. And then we're not accounting all of the ads they did to like we're talking about all the marketing they spent. But how about all the marketing they got back? I'm sure it was more than that.
Starting point is 00:09:14 And I've seen them in so many commercials, even on my Alexa. I don't want to say it too loud. She had this whole Superman thing for months that was going on. And you could have. So there was just a lot to it. So I think, you know, it wasn't like the best. numbers ever, but I think it was a good, it was good box office, especially for this year's
Starting point is 00:09:36 box office that suffered quite a bit. Yeah, I would agree with that. And the thing is, it's fascinating to me that this movie, people are so obsessed with trying to figure out, right, whether it made money or not. It's almost an irrelevant conversation by now. Not that we shouldn't talk about as a topic on the show, because clearly Forbes, which is known for being a financial magazine and financial website, breaking down the numbers. I think it's essential. My old friend Scott Mendelsohn used to write for Forbes and wrote
Starting point is 00:10:04 incisively about the box office and, you know, multipliers and all that stuff. So you look at the numbers here. And I get it. It didn't make a massive ton of money. But what it did do was get people excited again, the D.C. franchise. And that's worth money down the road, right?
Starting point is 00:10:23 And we know this. It's like a sports team. You invest in something. And yeah, maybe the first year they don't get to where they get to, but you see the flashes of the greatness. And then, of course, by year three or four, they're killing it. So this is a great beginning for James Gunn. Even though I think it should have made a little more money, I think what they wanted to accomplish, they accomplished. And now you got people excited.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Then you add in how much people enjoyed Crucial Commandos, how much people are enjoying peacemaker. We'll see what's going to have with Supergirl and Clayface. So, yes, it didn't make as much money as maybe a lot of people. people would have thought it would, but in the end, it accomplished what it needed to accomplish. And I do think it's important to talk about so you have a great, a proper assessment of the box office. But in the end, I don't think it matters to Warner Brothers one bit or not. They're going forward to the James Gun universe either way, right? Yeah, totally.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I think overall, it's so funny because I scroll down to the comments on this article. Anytime there's like a James Gun article, I'm scrolling 10 out of 10 times because I want to see the comments. and it is so similar to how politics are right now, where it is they either hate him and no matter what the article says, they're like just, they just hate the guy and they just can't wait to take the negatives from the article. Or, you know, they really love him and they're like,
Starting point is 00:11:46 it doesn't this kind of to your point where it's like, it's a win either way. They're moving forward with the sequel. So it's not, yeah, it didn't do a billion dollars and game numbers, but I think it's the beginning of that. And I do think that it got enough recognition. And there was kind of this, even though it is a huge Superman franchise, it kind of had this steep hill to climb where people are like, why do I care about another Superman? And that Henry Cavill of it all is still very fresh. everyone including myself liked Henry Cavill, if not loved Henry Cavill.
Starting point is 00:12:26 So you're kind of like, where are they going with this? How is it going to be different? So it just was divisive from the beginning. But I think it did what it needed to do. Yeah, exactly. It did what it needed to do beyond the box office. And I think I agree. And I agree with you 100%.
Starting point is 00:12:42 I love Man of Steel. I'll defend Man of Steel until my dying bread. I like Man of Steel too. Yeah. And so, yes, Cabell was hard done by the way and went down. that's how it goes sometimes. And Warner Brothers wanted to move on from Zach Snyder. And we had multiple regime changes. And to shove a creator onto the people who are going to take over a franchise, removes the independence and artistic creativity of the people who are taking over. You say to that,
Starting point is 00:13:10 well, you can take over, but you have to work with these people and you have to cast this person. And you have to do, I think everything happened for a reason to open up for James Gunn to take over here. And by that, I mean, he's not forced to go with Galgado because if that film had come out, the sequel during COVID and had been a big hit, I think he would have had to have stayed with her. Flash came out, wasn't that big of a hit, got Rub, so he doesn't have to stick with Ezra Miller. And Shazam and Aquaman both came out as kind of lame ducks. So he doesn't have to carry over any of the Zach Snyder stuff if he doesn't want to. It's his universe and he should live and die by the things he creates and makes. And so in the end, it worked out as the way it's supposed to.
Starting point is 00:13:51 But I think people need to get over the loss of the Snyderverse because, and I'm a big defender of the Snyderverse, but like it had its time. It didn't 100% work out. Terrible things happened behind the scenes with regime changes and whatever. And it just didn't work in the end. And guess what? That's okay. Just be happy you had it.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Just be happy you had it. And I think too many people get caught up in what could have been and not focus on the fact that you even had it. Like that's the important thing sometimes. in life overall. Yeah. It's like Zach Snyder is a pretty, is a household name for many,
Starting point is 00:14:25 you know, and he's always going to be moving forward. He has like multiple franchises under his belt now. Some have done better than others, but regardless, he's a creator that most people, including myself, will be like, oh, I'll see the next Zach Snyder film. So it's like, yeah, you never
Starting point is 00:14:41 want to see the person that you're, that's your favorite creator, get burned. And even if he's not my favorite. I wouldn't want to see that. It's a bummer, especially as a creator knowing like the blood, sweat, and tears you pour into the projects you're working on. But it's like the nasty business that this is. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:58 It's a nasty business. And it's the way it goes sometimes. And I think too many times fans want to run it like a mom and pop shop. And you can't run Warner Brothers like a mom and pop shop or Disney or any of these studios. They have boards. There's demands. There's money to be made. There's way too many things to be trying to reduce it to small approaches.
Starting point is 00:15:17 And I want to clarify this. A Walker says, Aquaman 2 was successful. It was not successful by the terms of the box office. It was made for $215 million plus marketing. It only made $440. That's not successful in any definition. In any definition. But it was fun as hell.
Starting point is 00:15:34 That movie was so fun. That movie was so fun. People love those movies. And I totally, totally get it. So yeah, but I think it also, to look at the box office, I do think, and I want to weigh your thoughts on this step, I do think we may be looking at really adjusting our expectations for these movies and adjusting what we anticipate will be success defined as a success for these movies at the box office. Because yes, you've got Deadpool and Wolverine make it $1.3 billion.
Starting point is 00:16:02 But I think that's going to be less the norm. And I think more the $6 to $800 million is going to be the standard when you're looking at superhero box office. Now, what do you think about that? yeah i i it's a bummer but i do think so it's like because explain to me how the 20th Jurassic park movie does better than you know fantastic four and it's just like that's how the box office is now it matters how the world perceives the franchise if your movie can even be played in a certain country right uh and then also it's like unless it's a movie like Avatar, Christian made a good point where it's, it is a better experience in the theater.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Like you have to win that argument. Then people have, you know, like I have an 80 inch TV. It's like people are going to see stuff at home. You know, they have amazing sound equipment for your house now. It's like you have to have, and I love the theater. I'm always going to go to the theater. Part of it is I want to see it in the beginning too so I can be a part of the conversation with everyone.
Starting point is 00:17:10 But for the average viewer, it really is like, why should I leave my house? And that's changing the box office discussion as a whole. Like, unless it's something like Avatar or a Jurassic Park or something like that, you're not, it's really going to be hard to break a billion. Well, they're event films. Jurassic World Avatar, those are event films. If they were doing three Avatar films a year, I think the box office numbers would go down. And if they were doing three Jurassic World movies a year, like Marvel does, the numbers would go completely down because if you, you know, because I mean, look, rebirth is not a good move.
Starting point is 00:17:48 I know a lot of people love it, whatever made it's money. But like, if you were costly, if you did three rebirth type films a year, people would just eventually turn off on the franchise. Same thing with Avatar, because you have to keep spinning off, spinning off, spinning off, spinning off, which dilutes the creativity of the people involved in it. and that eventually will end up biting you in the ass. And that is the one thing I fear about the James Gunn situation is that he's doing so much of the DC content that it's all just kind of relying on him that I wonder how, like when the damn breaks of how much he's writing and creating and making and doing. And I wonder if there's going to be like a bit of a pushback from the audience eventually
Starting point is 00:18:29 if there isn't enough other stuff peppered in. Like the fact you're getting Supergirl and Clayface before you get the sequel to Supergirl to Superman, I think is good. But what happens after that? Will James keep going? Who's going to be doing your Batman? So there's just a lot of questions here. And I think James is going to find that he's going to have to take a little bit of a step
Starting point is 00:18:49 back and do less and encourage other creators to come through. Still do his stuff occasionally. But you've got to allow for more voices in the room because you'll just get diluted creatively in the end. Yeah, I think I've always kind of guessed that was the plan that he would start what the tone is. Right. And then find the right writers and creators that he really respects and that he can work collaboratively with and then kind of, you know, be kind of more of an oversight to some,
Starting point is 00:19:19 writing, some, directing some. But even on Peacemaker, he didn't write every episode. So there's definitely people he's leaning on. But I agree. Like, I just can't imagine and the amount of projects they have coming up in the future, him being able to do that. Yeah, exactly, exactly. So we'll see, we'll see. All right, well, let us know what you think about this Superman box office discussion. Are you over it?
Starting point is 00:19:49 Do you think it's valid? Do you think it's fair to talk about it and find out what's going on? And what signs do you think this is showing us for the box office going forward with superhero movies and DC movies in general? from James Gunn. We're going to talk about more things here a little bit, but let's get to some ads for the show, some sponsors here for the show. Backdoor and Raycon, we'll be right back right after this. So fall for me, it always feels like a reset. Doesn't matter if it's back to school, the busier routine, shorter days, finding time to cook, it's rough. That's why I love Factor.

Starting point is 00:21:53 out. Everyone's doing their thing. It's part of getting older. It's essential as you get older. A lot you've been watching us. Go ahead. Step good. Yeah. No, you guys, I hit 30 and I never, I have like an exceptionalism complex where I don't think things are going to happen to me the way things happen to other people. I love it.
Starting point is 00:22:17 I've never said that out loud, but I think that's what I think that's what I suffer from. Like I just always in, I almost knocked on one, but it's in the past, I never got severely injured in D1 sports. So I was just like my body is amazing. I'm not going to age like everyone else. Like I don't even have to worry about this thing. No, that's not true. It's a I,
Starting point is 00:22:38 I'm a half to work out the majority of the week or else it shows. It shows. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. It's so true. But eating healthy and having something that just like helps you out is so, it makes it so much easier.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Yeah. And you know, because we're all busy. And everyone's got a lot of things to do. People work in multiple jobs to support their lives. A factor makes it easy. The meal is waiting for you. Pop it right in.
Starting point is 00:23:06 And there's so many different things to choose from. And, of course, the Raycon situation, people need to disappear sometimes from the madness of the world, shutting yourself off, listening to some music, taking it with you on a hike of podcast. All of that is so essential in life. Really, taking care of yourself is important. What is a line in Henry V,
Starting point is 00:23:25 Shakespeare said is like self-love is not so great a sin is self-neglect. And so I think this is a really important thing to remember in life for everybody who's watching us right now. Let's move. I know. I love Shakespeare. Let's move on to this, man. Let's talk about little AI. Let's get into the mix. Let's get into the muck of the mire here, Steph with AI. Mad Max director, George Miller, says AI is here to stay and change things. It's way more egalitarian and will make filmmaking available to anyone who has a calling to it. And for those you don't know, egalitarian means equality, while the majority of Hollywood is fearful of the impact AI could have on the industry,
Starting point is 00:24:05 most recently in the form of AI actress, actress, Tilly Norwood. Mad Max director George Miller likens it to how the Renaissance movement affected painting. Whoa, okay. Speaking to the Guardian, ahead of leading a jury at the Omni AI Film Festival in Australia, Miller said the debater on AI, quote, echoes earlier moments in art history, particularly during the Renaissance era when the introduction of oil painting gave artists the freedom to revise
Starting point is 00:24:28 and enhance their work over time. That shift sparked controversy. Some argued that true artists should be able to commit to the canvas without corrections. Others embraced the new flexibility. A similar debate unfolded in the mid-19th century with the arrival of photography. Art has to evolve. And while photography became its own form,
Starting point is 00:24:45 painting continued both changed, but both endured art changed. He's also behind AI because it's way more egalitarian. It will make screens storytelling available to anyone who has a calling to it. I know kids not yet in their teens using AI. They don't have to raise money. They're making films or at least putting footage together. He said AI represents the quote the most dynamically evolving tool in making a movie image. As a filmmaker, I've always been driven by the tools. AI is here to stay and change things.
Starting point is 00:25:11 The balance between human creativity and machine capability, that's what the debate and the anxiety is about. But Miller did say ultimately that AI isn't a threat because it can't replace the human essence. reflecting a conversation he had with filmmakers about the 2015 British documentary Listen to Me, Marlon, which is a great doc if you guys haven't seen it, which recreated Marlon Brando in 3D with software. By the way, they had Brando's permission
Starting point is 00:25:34 to do this. Miller said he doesn't believe AI can replace or revive actors in a truthful manner because of the specificity of a human performance. He quoted a young director who told him, then about listening to Marlon, in the future you may quote, have a character who looks like Marlon Brando, but you'll have nothing close to Marlon Brando. You want to the engagement
Starting point is 00:25:50 that performance that arises out of the collaborative era between other actors and directors and writers and so on. You will not have the essence of Branda. So fascinating stuff to consider stuff. Certainly people talking about AI more and more this morning in THR. Petty Gilpin of Glow fame and after the Hunt fame wrote a article addressing Tilly, quote, quote actress Tilly Norwood. Your thoughts on George Miller's comments? It's one of those comments where you're like, okay, that's interesting.
Starting point is 00:26:21 And then when you kind of really think about it, you're like, it's not really the same. I think it's important to think about it like that. It's also very easy to not feel the fear that the rest of us feel when you've already created the greatest trick-flick of all time, Mad Max Fury Road. But I, so I do think he's like kind of standing on this comfortable perch, which it's hard because perspective is everything. It's not like I'm asking him to really understand what it's like for the rest of us who are just like starting to really create and being at the precipice of maybe being able to make our next movie or make our first show or whatever.
Starting point is 00:27:02 And that's scary where you're like, well, they could just replace everyone with AI. I do think there's some truth to his point that in some cases, AI would be useful. Like if you want to use the painting example, how oil painting could correct some of the previous work. like maybe if you had to change something in a scene and instead of reshooting for $5 million, you could change it with AI. You still have everybody in production there and the real people who filmed it. But I think the part that I'm like really, really just I think is really gross is AI actors and using AI to write your script.
Starting point is 00:27:42 It's one thing to use AI to kind of look over your script and be like, did this hit the beats that you need, I don't know what a question could be. I've never used it for something like that. It's like whatever, you know, we use tools all the time. But when you're talking about actually what's on screen, I think that there should be a hard line. And when we're already in this economy where people are losing jobs left and right and not getting being able to get jobs and not having upward mobility in the way that we used to, it's scary. And it feels like the entertainment industry is under direct attack in general. And so when you add something like this, like a foreign entity, it's scary.
Starting point is 00:28:25 But I agree with some of his points in the sense that you cannot replace human essence. I do think like you could get something that's pretty good. And maybe if you want to be a studio that just like manufactures AI content and you're just trying to make like a minimum dollar amount every year and there's viewers who like that, sure, whatever. But I think people who like really love art and love watching real people make things and knowing the process that it took. Like you can't ever really replace that. Whether it's as profitable or not, that will suck.
Starting point is 00:29:00 But I mean, that's the, you can't control that. Yeah, we are in a transition place now. And listen, it feels like the last 20 years we've been in a transition place every year about something. And I know the truth of life is progress. Like that is the one thing that never changes. There is always progress, always moving forward, whether it's baby steps or massive leaps. And with technology, we've seen massive leaps. I mean, Steph, 30 years ago, we were trying to teach our parents how to program a BCR.
Starting point is 00:29:32 Now it's like a whole other ballgame. Your parents are playing around on an iPad or on these much more advanced technological things. And so AI was eventually going to come. of CGI back in the 90s, when Jurassic Park happened, that was essentially leading us all to where we're at now. So you can't just be all super upset about what's happening now without factoring historical nature of it. Right, exactly.
Starting point is 00:29:59 So we're all part of it. But it's how it's being used, right? That's the important thing. How is it being used? Is it replacing human beings? And these are the things that I think we are all struggling with when we put it into our minds. And I also, and I tweeted this out yesterday or posted this yesterday,
Starting point is 00:30:15 I just think the studios are doing lip service for right now and saying, oh, we're not going to do that. The agencies are all saying, well, we're not going to, we're not going to represent it anywhere from AI. And I said this on the hot mic last week, as well as posting yesterday, like, this is here. This is coming. And all of these people making a stand against it are only doing it out of convenience for right now, but they're all making contingency plans for when they have to embrace the AI movement. because no one who wants to stay successful in the business wants to be behind the curb of technology.
Starting point is 00:30:48 They want to be on top of it and riding with it. And so it's a matter of figuring out how to marry the two, the human essence combined with AI, that I think is going to be one of the biggest struggles that the film industry is going to have to reckon with. And they've already had to deal with COVID and the revocations of COVID. And strikes.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Now here comes another thing on top of it. yeah, I do not envy people who are in the middle area or up and coming in how they navigate this field right now, because you're 100% right. George Miller is sitting on top of the perch. He's not struggling for money. He's not in a place where he has to worry about his art being taken over by technology. He's in a different place. I also have to think a factor in the strikes. Directors look at this differently because directors look at everything like tools.
Starting point is 00:31:37 They don't look at it like actors do or writers do. directors look at everything like tools most of the time it's why dGA signed their agreement quickly with the studios while producers and actors and writers had to fight against the studios for the strike so there's a lot that goes into all of this when you hear a director talk about AI you know yeah and i think ultimately at the end of the day it's i i agree it's like you can't really push back too much because it's going to happen yeah so you're either the person watching it happen or you're being involved in it happening so it can hopefully happen under in a way that's not totally abusive and I think there will be ebbs and flows in that but ultimately I think it will everything will
Starting point is 00:32:24 depend on the consumer at the end of the day what are people buying what are people watching what are people going to the movie theater to see what are they downloading and that's going to move it forward or regress it and then ultimately figure out its place in the industry. Yeah. And how it can be used because we already see these films last year, right? Last two years, the best picture films, there have been AI accusations. Taylor Swift, with her album release, just got accused of some AI stuff being used on the YouTube videos.
Starting point is 00:33:00 And every YouTube video that was called out has been removed. So we see that we're in that place. where AI people want to use this tool, but they want to be able to use it and not get caught using it because they know the tool is actually effective for what they're trying to get across. And I think what George Miller says here about young filmmakers coming up, I do agree with that because not everyone,
Starting point is 00:33:22 becoming a filmmaker is expensive. Especially like a director, yeah. Film is expensive, getting locations is expensive. So if you've got up-and-coming creators who have a voice and they can use AI on the cheap and create something really interesting, how can you fault them for doing that? They're being artistic and they're being creative. It's no different than Snapchat.
Starting point is 00:33:45 It's no different than Vines, if you guys remember Vines or even now with shorts. People are creating mini episodes within shorts on YouTube. So it's about using the tools in a creative way that's important. Yeah, it's true. When you think about like even, I feel like every writer has been like, oh, I wonder if I could just make this myself.
Starting point is 00:34:02 It feels like an unimaginable. fee where you're like how could I do that like you look at the requirements for a Netflix camera they're like over $10,000 and for the specific cameras they use and obviously I'm sure they make exceptions on things but it does feel impossible sometimes to even get started without a studio backing you yeah yeah it does it does so yeah we'll see we'll see and uh it's some interesting comments from George Miller as you yeah yeah um all right let's move on to some Stranger Things conversation. Let's get in some
Starting point is 00:34:38 Netflix conversation here with Stranger Things. This is a new report here. The new report over at Puck News, which I recently subscribe to, indicates that the upcoming fifth and final season of Netflix is supernatural drama Stranger Things, let me make this a little bit
Starting point is 00:34:54 bigger. Looks set to have potentially the biggest budget of any single season of television ever made. We're just talking about how expensive is to be a filmmaker. It's expensive to make shows. Netflix is reportedly spending between 50 to 60 million dollars per episode for
Starting point is 00:35:10 the fifth season, which clocks in at eight episodes. That brings its total budget to anywhere between 400 million to 480 million for the full run. To put that in comparison, the fourth season costs 30 million per episode, while the original first season of the show clocked in at just $6 million per episode. Amazon
Starting point is 00:35:26 holds the record for the most expensive single season of a series with the Lord of the Rings, rings of power, at $58 million per episode, $465 million for the season and Citadel. Citadel 50 million per episode. Holy shit. Not show on the screen. In both cases, they were extenuating circumstances, millions and costs involving the rights to the franchise were absorbed in rings of power, while Citadel underwent a massive overhaul reshoot during production. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:53 In the case of Stranger Things, though, part of the reason for the cost appears to be the episode length. The outlet indicates each of the eight episodes of the new run will sport future length episodes clocking in at a 90 to 100. 120 minutes each. Jesus, the first four episodes will arrive on November 26th, followed by three on December 25th on the final episode on December 31st. So, Steph, wow, the episodes are 90 to 120 minutes each and costing a crap ton of money here at 50 to 60 million per episode.
Starting point is 00:36:24 Your thoughts? Wow. That is insane. It's insane, but when they did compare it to rings of power and Citadel, the Citadel one was the most shocking to me because even though it had two alluring, very A-listing
Starting point is 00:36:42 type leads in it, and I'm sure Priyanka's numbers are crazy because she's Priyanka. But it said like the reshoots and everything and I do feel like, and then Rings of Power which is a show I really actually
Starting point is 00:36:58 love, it hasn't those both didn't really get the views to substantiate that. sort of cost yet um with stranger things it is you know it's been building out it has a massive fandom it was one of netflix first biggest shows that got people really into netflix original content and the fact that it is movie length episodes there is more to and now all of the actors i mean like at least five of them are huge yes huge stars so i'm sure they're budget have all exponentially risen as well each season.
Starting point is 00:37:37 It does seem a little bit extra, but it's like I, it feels like Netflix has the money. I wish they would have kept some of their employees on board and maybe lowered the budgets a little bit, but hey. Yeah, everything comes at a cost, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:56 I mean, we're just talking about AI. Well, the more they embrace it, maybe the less human beings they'll be using for certain things. And then the other side is, well, the more they pay out for this content, the more human beings have to be let go so they can balance their budgets out in the end. It's everything has a cost, sadly, in the business and the way it goes down. But I hear you, man, the $60 million per episode is mind-blowing. I mean, I'm of a time that I remember when Rome was canceled by HBO because it was costing
Starting point is 00:38:25 $3 million per episode and they couldn't carry the weight of paying $3 million per episode for that series, even though that series is. is excellent, starting the late great Ray Stevenson. So to hear $60 million and they're just willing to do it is amazing. But it also speaks to the fact that Netflix is a powerhouse now, Steph. And it survived the streaming wars and arguably became even stronger because of the streaming wars when everyone was challenging it for its crown.
Starting point is 00:38:54 And now they've got this money to spend on something this massive. My thing is the length of these episodes. I mean, there's eight episodes that are. 90 to 100 an hour and a half to two hours each episode. That is a lot of a commitment. Right. Season, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:12 So each week that they're doing the three episode release will be like a Lord of the Rings movie extended cut. It would be like very, I mean, that's a lot. And it's true. Like I feel like I've seen a lot of people in the comments bring up and I've heard a lot of the criticism that people
Starting point is 00:39:30 were obsessed with season one. you know, it was kind of a game changer. And then two and three kind of lost them. And then now they've been kind of brought back. But I do wonder where their numbers kind of sit in this final season. And if it being the final season will bring in people, like I might have Harry watch all the seasons in anticipation for this because he hasn't seen it. Just because I'm like, it is a final season.
Starting point is 00:39:55 It is one of the most talked about shows ever. But to your point of Rome, I'm just thinking of when the news came out in the final season that a few of the top actors, like Amelia Clark, was going to be making one million per episode in Game of Thrones the final season. And we were like, what? Like, oh, okay, shows are have changed the game. Shows are like movies now, if not more. And this is like they're, they're probably making around that. The main cast, it seems like. Yeah. Yeah. I would say so for sure, especially with Millie Bobby Brown, who is very much a Netflix favorite, right? And I don't know about Finn Wolfhard or the other, but I mean, David Harbor has gone on
Starting point is 00:40:39 to do a number of things. Winona Ryder is back in demand again. So yeah, I imagine that the- Joseph Quinn now is like a star. Right, right, which there's rumors about him coming back for this season. And so, yeah, there's quite a lot of that going on with these people spinning off to do more things in their lives. But yeah, I mean, you talk about the lengths. I'm looking at here. Friend of the show, Ed Harrow brought up the lengths of the previous season. And I don't, he's not 100% correct, but he's kind of correct saying that last season had kind of like the same length of those shows.
Starting point is 00:41:14 The first episode was an hour and 18, the second episode, an hour and 17 minutes. The third episode was only an hour or yeah, only an hour. Then the fourth, an hour and 18. The fifth and hour and 15, hour and 16, hour and 16, 15, 15, episode six, hour and 40 minutes for episode seven, episode eight was an hour and a half, and then episode nine was two hours and 20 minutes. So an hour and 15 is not an hour and a half consistently or two hours consistently. So it is going to be longer these episodes.
Starting point is 00:41:46 And I think because they clearly want to tell a massive story and put everything out there. So we'll see. We'll see what the ramifications are. And I wonder if people will watch in the numbers that they want them to watch. So it would be curious. Yeah. Yeah. Because I don't think it was as taught.
Starting point is 00:42:04 I don't know. I feel like a lot of people talked about last season, but it wasn't like, it's because the amount of years in between each season, I'm like how many people, I think people come back, but how many new viewers have they gotten throughout the years? Right.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Right. Because you look at the new shows that come out and they're like, oh, most watch show on Netflix or most watch show on Brown viewers. I was like, well, it's the first season. People are curious, right? And it's like we're seeing now with the Jimmy Kimmel ratings. People were curious when he came back for that first week. And now the ratings have gone down again to fit what they were before.
Starting point is 00:42:39 So because people were curious. And so it's the same thing for the first season. We'll see how this season does. Will the fact that it's the final season get people to watch it? Or are people like, I can't buy these kids as high schoolers anymore. Cut it out. These are people who are going to cut it out. Millie Bobby Brown has a whole.
Starting point is 00:42:57 a husband and a child. Like she is queening with her goats. This is like Greece. They're like 27 years old playing high school. It's not going to work. Not going to work. All right.
Starting point is 00:43:10 Before we go forward, we've got one more ad to play here on the channel. Let me figure out which ad it is. All right. We're going to play that ad and then we'll come back and finish out the topics. And keep sending in your stream, or your super chats. We're at 20.
Starting point is 00:43:24 We'd love to get to 80 or 100 so we can lead the week going. into Friday, sending your love. Well, before we go forward, Steph, it's your turn in the spotlight here. Tell us about what's going on on your channel and how people can follow you. What's the deal? Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:37 YouTube.com slash Steph Sabra. We are slowly building and it's awesome. We have my discord is amazing. Knock on wood. Everyone rocks. Everyone's very cool. There's no hater energy. It's a safe space.
Starting point is 00:43:53 I'm dropping videos Tuesday and Thursday. And then I'm going live every Sunday. at 5 p.m. Pt. So come hang out. There you go. Come hang out. You know, where'd Brooke go? I don't know. You know, Luke is messing with stuff. He's always messing with stuff. He's always playing around. We love Luke. He likes to keep me on my toes. I appreciate it. He's like, oh, dance old man, dance. I appreciate. Let's move on as one more story. A couple more stories possibly, depending on timing and you all sending in your super chats. Thanks, everybody. We're up to 25.
Starting point is 00:44:30 We're getting so close. Just got to get to that 80 mark. Let's get to that 80 mark at least. Let's talk about this year, Steph. You know, Warner Brothers, earlier this year, there were issues with Abdi with Michael DeLuca and Pamela Abdi with their kind. People were like wondering if these people had gone off the deep end and had given too much money to some of these creators.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Well, they gambled on the creators and they have come out. ahead here with what has gone on with sinners, Minecraft movie, so much that's going on to happen with Warner Brothers this year. Well, Warner Brothers now has renewed Michael Deluca and Pam Labdie's contract after sinners and Minecraft spark an epic box office turnaround. As I said,
Starting point is 00:45:15 a few months ago, Holly was convinced that DeLuca and Abbey were about to be fired as co-heads of WB pictures. What a difference a few hits and one epic comeback can make. On Wednesday morning, Discovery Chief David Zazlov confirmed an eternal note to staff that DeLuke and Abbey's contracts
Starting point is 00:45:28 were being renewed for an unspecified amount of time. Quote, when I first arrived to the studio, recommitting this story company to its theatrical roots, renewing Warner Brothers' longstanding role as a home for the world's best storytellers and reestablishing this iconic studio to its position as an industry leader in terms of quality and box office success, were among my key objectives. Bringing Mike and Pam on to lead this team was an important step to achieve those goals,
Starting point is 00:45:51 and I am excited to share with you that we have re-uped their deal to enable them to continue the stellar work they and this team will do over the next several years bringing the very best movies to cinemas around the world. Zazov, who had reportedly been interviewing replacements for Dulc and Abdi earlier this year in the wake of flops like Joker Fully Adieu, the Alto Nights, and
Starting point is 00:46:08 Mickey 17, now praise the duo, oh, Hollywood, you fickle bitch, for surpassing $4 billion at the global box office with just 11 films after a rough start of 2025, the Paris fortunes turned with the release of blockbunches like a Minecraft movie, which grows nearly a billion,
Starting point is 00:46:25 as well as zeitgeisty hits like sinners and weapons. Nine of the studio's films this year debuted in first place at the global box office. Not everything has been a commercial success, one battle after another, scored with critics when it debuted in September, but its global haul of just over $100 million
Starting point is 00:46:39 is a disappointment giving its $130 million budget. The coming months will see Warner Brothers make other bold bets with Wuthering Heights from Emerald Fennell and Maggie Gillen Hall's monster movie The Bride, which I think it looks amazing. The studio will also release sequels of Mortal Kombat and Dune. If there was any blood from having to twist in the wind for months as Hollywood speculated about their fate.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Abdi and Deluca didn't betray it in their own note to the staff. We do from our first meeting with David that is unwa-va-va-va-vah. We cannot be more excited to be leading this team as we introduce an excited slate of films in the coming years and continuing making every film experience an event worthy of the Warner Brothers Shield. So, yep, as I said, Hollywood, fickle as it comes, Zazov was looking to replace them. They have some turnaround and now they got negotiations and they got themselves a great contract. Your thoughts on this stuff?
Starting point is 00:47:25 Yeah, you're really only as good as your last win. And if you, it doesn't matter how many shitty things you did if you do something really good, people just tend to forget, especially business people who really only care about money and numbers. So that makes sense. I mean, it's, it's like sinners and Minecraft just from the title alone, it's completely different movies and did completely different things, but accomplished what it needed to accomplish. in terms of bringing attention to the studio, bringing money in, bringing actors and directors in that are like super hot and people love. And so this makes sense. I mean, Minecraft was just fun. And I just love that Gen Z just completely wrecked shop and made it.
Starting point is 00:48:17 I wish they weren't so dirty. Like, I wish they cleaned up their mess. But I'm like, anything that gets people to the theater, I'm, I'm totally okay with. I just feel bad for the people working having to pick up your stupid popcorn. It's like just pick up your trash and then you can be a dickhead. Like I don't really just don't litter. It's that's the Japanese in me that I'm like, you deserve a death penalty.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Yeah. Yeah. But I think that sinners was awesome because sinners was awesome because it's like was a chance but not really. It was just a very smart move. You have Ryan Coogler who's established. People love him. is one of the highest grossing most loved films of all time being Black Panther.
Starting point is 00:49:00 And then he's just an exciting creator with Fruitvale Station. Like all of the movies he's worked on, you're like, I want to see more of this guy. And then he brings an original IP and it just everyone was talking about it. It's still definitely top five in my for my list for this year. It's such a great movie. It's definitely one that I would really revisit. So I just think it was too. Like those two examples were extremely smart business choices.
Starting point is 00:49:28 So make sense. I mean, it's a crazy year when probably three out of my top five films are Warner Brothers films. One battle after another, sinners and weapons. Probably are my top three films of the year right now, depending on the ranking depends on the day you ask me, honestly. And it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:49:47 And I think they deserve a lot of credit. And this is the truth. You make such a great point, Steph. like Hollywood is as I said so fickle you're only as good as your last win what have you done for me that has been the standard mantra in Hollywood for years I mean the fact that Zazov and I'm not surprised about this was already interviewing other people to replace them before he'd seen what the results of the products they'd already finished was going to be with the public tells you everything you need to know about the approach that people have and now they all put
Starting point is 00:50:19 on a happy face and all of that kind of stuff. So I wonder if these negotiations were, the fact that they didn't specify the time is interesting because I wonder if Zazla was like, okay, we'll negotiate the contract, but we'll see what happens in two years with the bride and with the Wuthering Heights and all of that. So we'll see.
Starting point is 00:50:36 But there's also speaks volumes to people who are film goers. Like, yes, someone may stumble or not do a great stuff. But like it's about the long game. What can they do in the long? term. What can they create in the long term? And Duluca and Abdi are on the other side of the James Gunn-Peter Safran question. They have DC Gunn and Safran. Abdi and DeLuca have Warner Brothers, which, by the way, includes Batman. Includes Matt Reeves' Batman. That's under Abdi and DeLuca. That is not under Gunn, because it was started before Gun got there. So I wonder if extending them might
Starting point is 00:51:13 also be seen as a tacit endorsement of the Matt Reeves verse and that all our thoughts that Matt Reeves being pushed out gently or indirectly might be unfounded because of this re-upping. I wonder if the re-uping part of it was we want people who are in charge of this Reeves verse who are going to be good with him and who have a track record with him, considering the Batman Part 2 is coming out here in a couple of years. So that might be an element of all of this as well. But either way, shout out to Abdi and DeLuca, taking chances, as you said, step, on creators and taking a chance that the audience will be inspired to come watch these
Starting point is 00:51:48 creators and the creations they make on screen if you give them enough money to let their visions be seen on screen and I think that's an amazing situation for them overall. So we'll see. And they just greenlit oceans 14. Let's segue into that. What are your thoughts on that? Warner Brothers, not green lighting heat two because they was too much money, but they are green lighting oceans 14.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Do you like this idea? Heat too as in the Not the Sandra Bullock No Okay you heat with Al Pacino Yes Okay okay okay I was like I don't think Sandra and my girl Melissa McCarthy would be asking for that much money Ocean Sports Heat
Starting point is 00:52:37 That's right I think that's isn't that the heat And then heat is the different thing I think is what it is yeah but anyway go ahead go out yeah Oh, did we lose Steph? Did she free or did I freeze? Luke, who's frozen? Am I frozen? Or is Steph frozen?
Starting point is 00:52:57 What's going on here? Uh-oh. Let me know, guys. Am I frozen or is Steph frozen? I don't know what's going on. But Steph is frozen. Okay, okay, okay. So yeah, when she comes back, we'll put her back on.
Starting point is 00:53:15 But yeah, they have greenlit. There we go. Oh. Okay, there we go. Now let's get Steph back there. Yeah, where are we here? There we go. All right, there we go. I'm back.
Starting point is 00:53:35 I'm good. I'm good. All right, let's add this. Let's keep going on this. But, yeah, Oceans 14 has been greenlit here. They turned down heat too, the Al Pacino movies, you're referencing step. But Ocean's 14, George Clooney said this recently on a red carpet. We just got the budget approved at Warner Brothers. And that is Abdi and Dulac. And we're trying to set up.
Starting point is 00:53:57 It's just scheduling. So it's just setting a start date for. us probably starting about nine or ten months shooting yeah brad pitt mad dame and don chito julia i had dinner last night with julia they all still really they're all still really dear friends and so the chance to work together would be fun so do you like the idea of another oceans movie or 14 this makes sense uh yeah i think it makes sense i think people always like oceans is always kind of somewhere in the zeitheist conversation yeah i feel like once a month someone will bring up an ocean's reference And I don't know if I've seen the most recent ones, but I feel like it's like similar to Fast and Furious where they're just always going to be fun, whether or not they're like mind blowing as the as great as the first one.
Starting point is 00:54:44 Who knows? But they're always a fun time. So to our earlier point about box office and kind of how movies are being made now, I think there's always space. I'm always going to be up for a movie that's just fun. I think heist movies. I just watched the most recent Heist movie with on Prime
Starting point is 00:55:02 with Lekeith Stanfield and Mark Walker and it was like just like so we yeah yeah we just kind of put it on it's nothing like it honestly kind of had a slow start and then it got
Starting point is 00:55:14 it got good because I like Shane Black a lot so I was just curious what it was going to be like and by the good heist movie and that's kind of how I feel about heist movies in general I'm like why not
Starting point is 00:55:30 especially when you have like George Clooney involved. Yeah. And, you know, it's been a while since Oceans 13. I think it's been like almost, almost 20 years. I think Oceans 13, I think was 2007. So 18 years ago. And then we had Oceans 8, right? With Sandra Bullock and Kate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway,
Starting point is 00:55:53 Aquafina, Rihanna, Helena, Bottom Carter. And I think Mindy Cayley. So we had a number of ladies come through. So I wonder if this will be a combination, like a crossing over of the streams where everybody's involved in this iced. Because we don't get, Bernie Mac has passed on.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Carl Reiner has passed on. So we don't get the full cast back. So will they replace them or will they bring in the ladies to kind of fill the holes there and see what you got going on? So I'll be curious. But I'm with you. I love these oceans movies. I love George Clooney.
Starting point is 00:56:26 And I love to see him be in something and have a little fun. You know, his, the film he did with Julie Roberts a few years ago, a couple years ago, I really enjoyed. I loved it as parents who were watching their kids getting married and all that. I thought that was a really great film. And so to see him back playing something a little more lighter, I think would be a lot of fun. Because, you know, fuckers. Him and Wolves was so fun too. Oh, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Yeah. And then I have on my saved that are watch list. I really want to, they put his play up on prime. Good night. Good luck. Yes. Yeah, yeah. I feel like I do be cool to see how that is. But yeah, I'm a huge George Clooney fan. And I'm a bigger Amal Clooney fan. That woman is straight up goals. I've loved her for like almost a decade now. My mom and I, every time in a mall cluny outfit appears, we're like, oh, a mall. It's a mall. The human rights lawyer of the century with the fashion of Audrey Hepburn. We love El Maw. Oh, oh, you're Amal Clooney's husband. Oh, pleasure to meet you. Nice to meet you.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Yes. Nice to meet you, George. Yeah, nice to meet you George. Oh, good. Nice to meet you. Yeah. Amal doing incredible work around the world for sure. You know, you're absolutely right. What a strange life to go from Stacey Kleebler, a former W.W.E. Valet to Amal Klooney as a hell of elite, you know. And there's nothing against Stacey. I mean, there's just two different ladies overall. But it was a hell of a leap for George to make. for sure so yeah um shout out to them all um all right let's move i think that's all the well i mean one more water brothers thing real quick and then we'll get to the question step because i know we have limited time but your thoughts on this the first shots of uh of our man here john lithgow is albus dumbledore speaking of one another Warner Brothers project in the harry potter series that's
Starting point is 00:58:21 being shot currently your thoughts do you like this look do you like what's going on here are you fan of what he's doing here what are your thoughts stuff all right seems like that's a no uh maybe not a big fan of it okay can you there we go in my back yes you're back
Starting point is 00:58:43 oh I'm so sorry guys okay so actually I keep looking at like to my fourth time being like is John Lithgow British and I know he's American but there's some part of me that like cannot understand why he's not British that doesn't mean he can't do a great British
Starting point is 00:58:59 accent. I'm not saying that. I just am like it's so funny because I feel like the first Harry Potter series, the movies were like British actor royalty. Oh yeah. Just like the best British actors just all in every movie. And so it's
Starting point is 00:59:15 funny seeing him who I love as an actor, but just I I'm like, wait, he's not British, but I, so I kind of went on this being like oh, am I going to like this? I don't know why. But then I was like, you know what? I think he looks good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:30 This looks good to me. Yeah. I was really surprised because I didn't like the Hagrith reveal and I didn't like the Harry Potter reveal and the Weasley reveals. But this looks cool, you know. And as someone who wore the Harry Potter garb for a couple of years at Universal Studios doing the show that I did there, the robe, the jackets, the underpants, the vest, all that is high quality. And that is absolutely reflective of the approach that they need. need to have for Dumbledore. He has to look a certain way and feel a certain way.
Starting point is 01:00:04 And so I think they've nailed it. And especially that overcoat. My God, that's a beautiful Navy overcoat. And those are heavy coats. Let me just tell you, ladies and gentlemen. I lost 20 pounds doing that job because you would just sweat in that coat out there walking around. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Oh my gosh. It's a lot. It's a lot. Yeah, yeah. It's no joke that thing. So, yeah, I agree with you. I like the look of it. And I'm a fan of what it's going.
Starting point is 01:00:29 going to eventually be. I hope it's good. But, you know, this is the first time I've seen something that I enjoy from this set. So we will see if this is maybe a thing turning around once we get more shots of like Snape and other shots of the characters here to get us excited. So we'll see. All right. Anything more to say on that step? Shall I move on to the questions. No questions. But keep sending them in. We're at 35. We need like 40 more to really do us in. Yeah, there you go. Steph's absolutely right. We need 40 to 45 more, everybody.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Get us to at least 80. Come on now. Here go, Joe's Romer, joyous rumors. Is he how, oh, what is your anticipation level from all? Shadow Lord. I think it's good, but it's not, oh, I can't wait to see it. Because I know Filoni's still in charge, and I haven't necessarily been the biggest fan of the latest Filoni stuff.
Starting point is 01:01:22 So my feeling is I hope it's good and I hope I enjoy it because I liked Marvel Zombies. But we'll see how I'm all show. What about you, Steph? Do you have any thoughts on Mall Shadow Lord? Are you looking forward to it? Yeah, I am. I am. I feel like I think, yeah, I'm looking forward to this.
Starting point is 01:01:44 I actually think it will be pretty good. Yeah, yeah, we'll see. Pac-Man Dwayne, movie reviews and television says, Good afternoon, good morning. I sent you a DM on Twitter in 2021, John, to thank you for helping me through my mom's passing. oh you talked about the passing of your father but what really helped me out was watching Ted Lassow you and you champion that show and that's already helped me out through my darkest time
Starting point is 01:02:09 thank you everybody on the show and on your channel I listen to everybody's podcast and I support all the time but I've been listening uh is there more but I've been listening uh yeah okay all right uh that's awesome yeah uh that is great um I have a friend who recently lost his father a couple of days ago and I reached out to them. You know, it's a terrible club to be a part of it, but it's a right of passage. As Claudius tells Hamlet in Hamlet, like it's a right of passage,
Starting point is 01:02:37 but it's not a right of passage that any of us want to be one experience, but it is life. So, I'm glad you've walked through it, and I'm glad that anything we all did helped you through those times, because those are the greatest gifts when we get messages like this that, you know, stupid little shows we do
Starting point is 01:02:53 help people navigate these rough times with some humor and some entertainment. So it's important. Joyce is back. Says, may the force be with you guys. Hey, Steph, how close are you to getting monetized? I think I'm pretty close. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:08 So I've been doing it for about, I think we're just about three months, like hitting about three months. So we're moving steadily. And yeah, I've considered going live more often to kind of get those hours more. And people seem to, like the lives a lot.
Starting point is 01:03:28 So, but yeah, we're getting there. We're close. Just keep, keep, keep watching. Keep supporting everybody. Come on. Seattle Chaos is morning, Roka and Steph. Have either of you watched Chad Powers yet? A very funny Glenn Powell College football show.
Starting point is 01:03:43 Yeah, it's on Hulu. I haven't watched it yet, Steph, but I will watch it this weekend. What have you watched Chad Powers yet? No, I haven't. Honestly, I haven't re-downloaded Disney. So I haven't had access. to Hulu yet, but I will. I probably will.
Starting point is 01:04:01 And then I really like Glenn Powell. So I'll probably check it out. Yeah, he's a good guy. Pac-Man, we got that one. Thank you. RQMD, SMD says, support for Steph, John, and thick thighs. Have a great show. Hell yeah. Thank you, RQMDSMD.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Yeah. Dingus McNally says support for Roka and stuff. Let's get you both a W. It's been a while. Any of you planning to see Roofman this weekend, been hearing good things. Yes, the Channing Tatum film that comes out this weekend.
Starting point is 01:04:33 By the way, so does kiss of a spider woman. I don't have ever remembers that that movie's coming out. It comes out this weekend. It is tracking at $2 million. Yeah. So Antron Ares as well, which I think is going to sink at the box office. So, Steph, are you going to see any of these movies this weekend? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:04:55 I was kind of happy to see I feel like J-Lo has taken some L's in the past few years and I was happy to see that it's getting pretty good critical reviews so that was
Starting point is 01:05:11 that was nice sometimes that's all that matters for those types of movies I don't think it was a massive massive budget but I don't know with someone like J-Lo in it but I yeah I'm not hearing the best things from Tron Aries I saw the real Regix little Instagram about it.
Starting point is 01:05:29 And our boy, Koi did not seem happy with it. And everyone kind of, so I don't know, but I will say like, I'm such a Jody Turner Smith fan. And I saw her on Jimmy Kimmel last night. And the comments,
Starting point is 01:05:46 which I totally agree with, were like, she should be storm. And I don't know why I haven't put that together. When I saw her, I was like, yeah. I mean, literally looks like storm she's like this beautiful like strong presence yeah that is just like never aging like i think she would have i think when she's 50 she'll look 30 so whatever age she's at she'll be fine yeah i watched um i watched last frontier which is a new show that's on apple tv plus
Starting point is 01:06:17 i got to interview jason clark the interview will be up on my channel tomorrow morning but i show rather and alfred woodard looks the same in 2025 as she looked in scrooged back in the 1980s and i was like what the fuck is happening here i agree with some people jody turner smith is going to look like she's in her 30s in well into her 50s and 60s yeah yeah yeah yeah it's amazing are you going to see any of those movies this week or have you seen any of them yet i i skipped out on the tron areas because i just people know the lady has COVID and I wanted to stay close to her because it was kind of a bad night so I did not go to see the screening
Starting point is 01:06:58 but I will go see it tomorrow afternoon probably. Yeah, I've got a show in the morning but then after that I think I'm just going to watch all three movies back to back at the local regal and then do some out of theater reaction for it. Oh, that's cool. I'll see all three of them. Yeah. I mean, I'm dreading kiss of the spider woman, but we'll see if it ends up being a good one. But yeah, John Aries, I know it's not going to be that great
Starting point is 01:07:21 but everyone says the visuals are amazing. So at least I'll be proud by that. Yeah. Let's see here. Okay, here we go. Mike Joyce says, Roxy went on a six-minute rant about the latest love is blind drama on Tuesday. Steph King,
Starting point is 01:07:36 and Phil Roque in on the Cardi-Nic drama in six minutes. No, don't fill me in. I watch that show, and I'm saving love is blind for Sunday. So don't fuck around. I just finished France on Tuesday. So don't ruin anything. for me and I don't mean you I mean Mike don't request anybody to ruin anything for me because
Starting point is 01:07:55 I love is blind is I worship at the altar of love is blind God help me God my God my God. Roxy sent me like a six minute voice memo because I she's like are you watching love is blind and honestly kind of lost me last season where I was just like I just don't think there's good intention people anymore right now like for the show like it just feels like there's really abusive people who are there not for the right reasons and just like to or just like weirdos just weirdos so i didn't watch this so i was like no i'm not going to watch it spoil it for me what's up and she sent me a six minute thing and then i got engulfed in the drama because i am seeing it all over everywhere like all of the like castmates drama so but no are you caught up on the cardy nicky
Starting point is 01:08:44 drama no is that cardy b or no carty carty carty b or no cardy carty and Nikki Minaj. No. What's up with that? What happened there? Oh, my God. Okay, I don't want to go on too long of a rant. But anyways, you know that they've been in beef for years long.
Starting point is 01:08:58 Yes. Yes. Okay. So they, and then basically you thought it was all. Cardi has a new album. Yes, and it slaps from start to finish. It is so good. Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:10 It is very good. No one can make me hate Cardi. So this is kind of an unfair stance, but it seems to be the general. consensis. I cannot wait. Like, I want to spend a day with Cardi B and I need her to know that no one can make me hate you, babe. I think you're amazing. She is and, okay, so, so you think the beef is dead. It's kind of just like they don't like each other. And then in this album rollout, Cardi B goes after a lot of rappers, women rappers who have gone after her in the past few years. but she doesn't touch Nikki because the beef is kind of dead between them. She does a call her daddy interview in which Alex Cooper asked her about it.
Starting point is 01:09:53 And she's like, we just don't like each other. And that's okay. And I was like, yeah, that's totally fine. But Nikki, I don't know if you've paid attention has kind of gone off the deep end in the past few years where she's just getting like nastier and kind of like unhinged where you're like, is she mentally okay? Or is there a drug problem or is there an actual issue going on mentally? like people have thrown out allegedly like a drug problem or like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, which it's kind of seeming to be something, if not a mix of that just based on the, it feels episodic in the same way Kanye kind of start began where it's like a week of insane tweets and then he's silent for a few months. And then it's like another episode. It kind of feels like a pattern of that. So Cardi B drops an album, doesn't mention Nikki. Right. Four days later,
Starting point is 01:10:47 Nikki goes on this terror of like, my album's dropping in March. And then Cardi's album was like breaking records because it's hard to sell albums now with all the streaming services. So she's doing really good. It like went platinum very quickly. And then Nikki posts all these things about my albums
Starting point is 01:11:09 are the only ones who have gone platinum in this amount of time. Like all these things. And it's like, I don't know what the truth is or not. I'm not like concerned. It's just just like, nobody talked to you, Nikki.
Starting point is 01:11:20 So why are you doing this? Then it just got unhinged from there where Nikki got in her head that Cardi B by posting her children doing things like spelling their names and stuff was inadvertently making fun of her child, which is like the true narcissism played out where it's like no one mentioned your child. and I guess there's like rumors that her child's like I don't know if it's because he's like a slower to develop or not sure I don't know that stuff but so I think there's a sensitivity there or something and then it just spiraled into them cussing each other out straight up and Nikki said some like Cardi I mean you know Cardi she's not going to be perfect she said some like hilariously awful things Nikki just said awful things that aren't funny at all, like calling her children, Cardi's children, monkeys and cockroaches, like,
Starting point is 01:12:20 Rachel, insane stuff. And, like, talking about her child's gums and how she's going to push her teeth back, like, and everyone's like, okay, the children are off limits. This is getting crazy. And then she's like, my child is a prophet, like, just saying weird, weird stuff. And everyone's like, okay, I think actually something's really wrong with this person. And then Cardi was like, I have to stop.
Starting point is 01:12:45 And so then they've stopped. But basically they were throwing insane blows at each other. And I don't know what's wrong with Nikki. But I wish Cardi didn't respond because it's like clearly something's wrong. But he did. And that's where we're at. From the outside, there's a lot of Lil Kim energy from Nikki. It sounds like when Lil Kim started dropping off, she went.
Starting point is 01:13:13 off the deep end because she wanted attention. And she, the rap game had moved on from her. And I think in some ways the rap game moved on from Nikki because all these women came in with Cardi B and Lizzo and others coming in through Doja Cat. And so Nikki kind of got lost in the shuffle a little bit. Not that she didn't have her fans, of course. I mean, God, please don't come from me.
Starting point is 01:13:33 But like it felt like she was kind of an afterthought in a way. And I think picking a fight with someone who doesn't mention you is because it shows you that you're not relevant to that person even mentioned you, and you get upset about it. And so you fabricate all of this offense that was not intended in order for intention. But then, of course, it goes sideways from what you're talking about. If they're going into personal attacks about children, like that is way all. Because, you know, adult children, okay, that's fine.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Like, you know, Trump's saying you can't talk about my kids or my kids. Get the fuck out of here. But like, children, children, that's not something you should be bringing into any squabble. And this isn't Lamar and Kanye, like Kendrick Lamar and, I'm sorry, Kendrick Lamar and Drake. This is something that feels a little more in the Kanye realm of things, which is unfortunate. Yeah. Yeah. Nikki is great.
Starting point is 01:14:26 It is kind of, it's, it is kind of a shame because it's like, I do think people are always want to bring up. Well, Nikki's a better rapper. And it's like, no one's saying that. I think Nikki's one of the greatest rappers of all time. She's one of the greatest lyricists of all time. And her range is amazing. I think that her personality is in Kanye range now where you're like it's almost unlistnable because I don't, she's just becoming unhinged. And I'm not saying that Cardi was perfect either.
Starting point is 01:14:57 I mean, she does take things very far. She's an emotional person. She's talked about this before. And but it is like when you come after people's kids, it's, it is great. Because all their kids are under five. Like it was like, okay. And they both apologized for doing that, but it got really nasty. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:17 It's not Kanye level. Yeah. I'm saying it feels like the beginning of it where I talked about this on my show where it was like those beginning times where Kanye where you're like, okay, is something wrong with him? Is he okay? And then by the time it got so bad, we're like, I wish I handled that. I wish we all handled this differently because it was so like the signs were there. It feels like the signs are here, guys. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:39 If you make me have sympathy for Kim Kardashian, you've done something wrong. You've done something wrong. All right, let's move on. Luke Star-Killers says, I would like to see a remake of the Godfather. No! But I would like to see the Japanese or the Russian version of them. Okay, all right. I think that could be fun.
Starting point is 01:15:57 All Japanese language Godfather remake or Russian Godfather remake, count me a book. Not an American remake, but count me a bore on that. Yeah, I agree completely. the American one is like so perfect to this day could never be touched that but like if yeah you were doing like a yakuza type story that could be cool yeah uh angela dashner what's up angela support for john and step get the win thank you angela yeah we're at 40 right now we'd love to get 35 more guys get us to at least 75 so we can beat the number right now and i love this picture angela just contemplative thinking about the world i appreciate that's very nice so jukebox is support for two terrific hosts thank you thank you soul uh r qm ds md back again support for john stephen quasson yes thank you yes thank you king of the wicker people says i'm feeling exhausted by the gunverse what already it all feels the same to me creature commandos peacemaker and even a little with superman each project follows eight plus people he needs to have more focused projects
Starting point is 01:17:04 well we've got what supergirl coming which will just be what her and mamoa and then a villain and possibly a cameo from corn sweat and then we have clayface which is a really small uh horror type approach so but i guess he's not making those in terms of directing a writing so yeah your thoughts i'm not bothered by this at all i i'm not saying that you're wrong to feel that way i just love a great ensemble when it's done right and i feel like the beginning of peacemaker, I didn't know any of those characters because they had such small roles in Suicide Squad. And by the end of it, like, I'm obsessed with Economos. I'm obsessed with
Starting point is 01:17:48 vigilante. Parkour ads. Like, they're all so, I just wouldn't want them to not be featured in the show. So I don't feel that way, but I wouldn't be upset. I know we're not going to get this, but
Starting point is 01:18:04 I think in the next Superman movie, it would be nice to get more Superman, just because I love corn sweat as Superman. But I, yeah, I just like the ensemble. Yeah, me too. I think he does it well. It's his wheelhouse. And I hear you that it all feels the same because it's coming from the same person. Just like Snyderverse, it all felt the same because it was coming from Snyder.
Starting point is 01:18:26 You know, when you've got a creative vision, you've got and you're involved in the creating of that vision. It's going to feel very similar because those are who, that's the beats of who you are. as a person. So I hear you though. It may just not be your cup of tea and that's totally fair. Everything's subjective in my opinion. Mirjam, Serenity Moons, support fully, Stefan John.
Starting point is 01:18:45 Thank you. Hi, Mayor Jim. Hey, Mr. CJ. What's up? C.J. He says, happy New York Comic-Con weekend. Hope those that are going, have a fun, safe time, escape, and enjoy. Hashtag I've spoken. Oh, I've spoken. That's a good quote to bring
Starting point is 01:19:02 back. what a time what a time. I know. Yeah. I hope everybody's okay and enjoys themselves. Are you looking for anything out of New York Comic-Con staff? Anything you're keeping an eye on or anything? No. Okay. No. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:21 Mumrah says, give us a meta moment having the big cameo being evil Nazi soups played by Dean Cain. 11th Street kids kick his ass all the way back to EarthX in a finale. That'd be awesome. Dean would never do it, but it would be awesome. No, no. He's too busy collecting the 50K. He clearly so desperately needed.
Starting point is 01:19:45 Listen, we're not going to get political on the show because Christian goes crazy about it. But I think we can talk about someone who's involved in the world of Superman trying to think he could still do something at 50-something years old and immediately getting an injury because his big ass can't handle the obstacles that younger people can. So, I mean, I wasn't surprised by that. And it was a perfect, perfect ending to that situation that he injured himself. Yeah, yeah, loser. Pretty much. Zuri Fraser says, I love how JG and DCU is triggering people. Success creates hate, envy, and money for sure.
Starting point is 01:20:16 Superman, by every metric made a profit. The article was pure spent. No, it wasn't. It was not. That's a dismissal that is ridiculous. It was not speculative. It was using hard numbers to look at the numbers of what it made. It was not spec-I mean, this is not some kid down in his basement with a no-pad carrying the one.
Starting point is 01:20:35 Forbes, these are intelligent people who get employed by Forbes who have a background in knowledge of finance in order to look at this kind of stuff. So to dismiss it as just irrelevant, I think, is not the way to go. You may not like what they came to conclusion-wise, but it is not speculative. But you're right, the first part of your sentence, yes, whenever you're successful, it creates hate, envy, and money. For sure. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:03 I just think it's probably a good sign that he's like so talking about in the Zike Ice. And I'm on your end of things where I like James Gunn. So I'm just. Yeah. I do think it was a success. But yeah, I think it's hard. I think a lot of people were are speculating on the subject as a whole. Right.
Starting point is 01:21:25 Casey Grant says, sadly, AI music is already gaining popularity. I tell people, while AI is getting a million listens, those millions could be going to real artists. Yeah, but, you know, this is why it's going to succeed is because the general public doesn't care about that. We in the bubble care about that. There are people out there in the general public who do care about supporting artists and uplifting artists, of course, and uplifting art. But a majority of the general public just wants to be entertained. and however you can entertain them, they're on board with it.
Starting point is 01:22:01 They don't get caught up in the thornier issues of ethics and morality and principles at the high numbers that we do within the bubble. So I think in the end, that's why AI is going to succeed because people just want to be entertained. Yeah. I hear the sigh.
Starting point is 01:22:18 I hear the sigh. Yeah, it's like I don't want to be like behind the curve, but I do think that we're totally unprepared for what it's actually going to man as. Yeah. Because it's so, I mean, like you were saying, the leaps in technology that we've made, but this one being clearly the biggest.
Starting point is 01:22:38 Yeah. And having unlimited access because of all of our digital footprints to how we interact, think talk. And then, you know, billionaires now buying all of these tech companies. And then all of them having like very strong allegiances to political parties. That's really scary. Because that's not that's no longer like a free market and there's not like that's not there's nothing fun about us being tricked into thinking certain things by the use of AI.
Starting point is 01:23:09 We're in the age of misinformation. Yeah. So and and low educated voters. And so you throw in AI and you throw in SORA 2, which is insane. I've been watching some of the stuff on TikTok like I've got Malcolm X showing up at ice rallies. I've got Martin Luther King joining the NWO in the WWE. It's insane. I've got George Washington fighting Abraham Lincoln in the WWE ring.
Starting point is 01:23:41 I've got Stephen Hawking doing stuff. It's insane the stuff I've seen on SORA too. And it is crossing the uncanny valley farther than I've ever seen any AI do. And it is insane, utterly insane. So, yeah, yeah. We'll see what. And that's what I'm saying, the age of misinformation, once they get a hold of that and start putting, like, people's faces and likenesses, saying things that are really controversial that they didn't say, how many people are going to believe that it's a fake AI thing, you know? And so it's scary to think about.
Starting point is 01:24:13 Renata W says, hey, beautiful souls. Hello, Roca, how much? I've got four months to learn Spanish, right? And the show, and the struggle is very real. And the struggle is very real. that's good luck good luck i know are we getting ready for the super bowl we got to get four months yeah we got to get ready i was i was like damn i only know his club banger so i was like let me want to be a part of this party let me let me try to get in on this because he has so many songs
Starting point is 01:24:47 that i'm like damn i i thought i knew a handful of his music but i only know the hits like but apparently they're all hits based on his streaming numbers i just i wasn't i wasn't hip yet yeah i mean yeah exactly and i thought that was really funny and in spanish is one of the easiest languages to learn so come on y'all four months is that that long yeah i mean they said that they couldn't understand kendrick so i'm like i don't think you guys can understand it people have a i mean and i'm not saying i'm i'm different like i think if you put a country singer up there i'd be like i don't get it but I we all like what we
Starting point is 01:25:26 like I just think some of the points being made make absolutely no sense no no and people not knowing that he's American and then pointing out how many of the other artists that people were going crazy about over the last few years are not American I thought was hilarious Rihanna's
Starting point is 01:25:43 Barbado's uh what Shakira's Columbia like there were so many that people were going crazy about that weren't American but now all of a sudden an American person and they're upset about it. It's so dumb. Renetta, okay, okay, choose your fighter. Brad Pitt and F1 or Tom Cruise and Top Gun Maverick.
Starting point is 01:26:01 I enjoyed F1 solid film, but Maverick had my heart, had me in my feels. Maybe it's that old school nostalgia talking. What do you say there, stuff? Who did you choose? Maverick's the second one, right? Yes. Oh, Tom Cruise and Maverick.
Starting point is 01:26:15 I loved F1. I did. And it was a very fun movie. but Maverick was like, is this the best movie ever? Like, that's how you felt when you left the theater. So I,
Starting point is 01:26:26 and I would say even Tom Cruise in the most recent mission impossible over it. Like, Ethan Hunt is the sickest. You're like, how are we going to do this? Oh, because we got Ethan Hunt. Like,
Starting point is 01:26:41 that's. Can it do? Can he get through the sub? We got Ethan. The lore of Ethan Hunt. Amazing. I agree 100%. The sub scene was crazy.
Starting point is 01:26:54 Right? Yeah, for me, Top Gun Maverick, and I'll tell you, it's a perfect question, Renetta, because F1 is still in theaters around where I live. And I could easily have gone back to see that film multiple times.
Starting point is 01:27:07 But you know what I did last week? Top Gun Maverick was out in ScreenX at my local theater, and I paid five bucks to go see it in ScreenX because I have the regal thing. And I had a utter blast. because that film has my heart, as Steph said. I mean, I will take Tom Cruise and Top Gun Maverick.
Starting point is 01:27:27 The original Top Gun is like my favorite film of the 1980s, arguably. So the fact that they were able to plus it in the sequel and make me feel all the feels all over again, incredible, incredible. I love that movie to pieces. So good. Yeah. Seattle chaos is support. Thank you, Seattle. We're at 41.
Starting point is 01:27:47 Come on, everybody. Get us to 30 more. come on 34 more send in your love sending in your support we would appreciate it Seattle kale thank you very much again RQD SMD's support for step and John great show guys thank you guys thank you mr. Cjoy says con thank you Mike joy says Steph did you get plants to replace that what sparkle ate so here's the tea now that Harry is now scared that honey bear is going to eat the plants too and that I should just replace it with like art on the floor or something like that.
Starting point is 01:28:23 Oh, wow. And it's like, do I not look like poison ivy, the goddess of plants to you? Like, who do you think you're like, what do you mean? So we're going back and forth about it. But I'm like, and honey bear's not stupid. She's not going to eat my plants like the little dog did. I don't know. I am going back and forth.
Starting point is 01:28:43 Like I'm, I might, I know that there's, they shouldn't. And all the plants that I got, one was not the best for dogs. All the rest were non-toxic. So I'm like, even if they did eat the other ones, it wouldn't really matter. But I think he's just scarred because once you get an ER bill,
Starting point is 01:29:00 it's like, what's the point? That's the moment. You're like, well, how much? Yeah, you're like, okay. Is there a co-pay for this? There's no copay.
Starting point is 01:29:11 Yeah, right. I know dog insurance is something I, honestly, everyone said that I should get it. And then I was like, I don't need it. And then now we've had two bad accidents that are just like, you just can't control everything they do at all times.
Starting point is 01:29:26 Steph is like, I'm exceptional. I don't need dog insurance. It won't happen to me. That's literally it. Oh my God. That's so true. Like I actually thought my dog's not going to do anything that's going to require this. Like that's crazy.
Starting point is 01:29:42 Well, behold, a six inch steak went through her throat like she was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oh, my God. Oh my God. Yeah. Nikes. Yeah. So I'm excited for the geek buddies peacemaker review. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:29:57 Yeah, we're going to record it tomorrow. So hopefully it up by 12 or 1 o'clock tomorrow. So look for it there. It's not going to be live, unfortunately, because of our schedules. We do like to do live reviews. But unfortunately, that one is going to be pre-recorded. But yeah, it'll be up tomorrow. I might do something tonight as a reaction to it.
Starting point is 01:30:12 So look for that later on in the show, on the channel, rather. Dinkis McNally. All right. What's you guys last prediction for the big? cameo in tonight's peacemaker finale. Batman? I mean, wouldn't that be massive if Robert Pattinson
Starting point is 01:30:30 showed up in the peacemaker finale? I mean, people would lose their fucking minds. That would be amazing. I don't even think that's possible. But if that does happen, that would be insane. I don't know. Like, I feel like I was very surprised
Starting point is 01:30:46 with close your ears if you're not caught up with Lex. Like I thought that was I was like whoa Okay this I feel like when you throw in him like This is how I feel about like any major billionaire I'm like shit how are we going I feel like we're screwed
Starting point is 01:31:01 We can't win when you got a billionaire in there It's like damn it Yeah here's right because they're opening the doors To the multiverse and you saw that in the In the dimensional the different dimensions You saw that in the trailer for oh sorry You saw that in the trailer for For the
Starting point is 01:31:19 the finale, it would not surprise me for them to open a door and there's the Matt Reeves verse with Batman or Penguin in there. So in a way, you're saying for sure that universe exists, it's not our main universe. So I think that's a way you get around it to introduce or to have Batman in there, but not have Batman. That's interesting.
Starting point is 01:31:41 Yeah. Yeah. So Stozoos jukeboxes, Steph, do you care about the Tron movies? Steph, do you care about the strong movie? I haven't seen any of them. I don't know how many there are. Like, if it was a show. I love tech stuff. Is it a space thing too?
Starting point is 01:31:57 Like, I don't know anything about this franchise. Okay, it's just tech. Going inside of a computer system. Yeah, it's like it's a. Okay. Nothing in space. Yeah, so I know nothing about it, clearly. So it might, do I care?
Starting point is 01:32:12 Not really. I always want to do a movie. I always want a movie to do well. Just because I root for them all, unless it's like a random, I don't know. Like Tilly's first movie or whatever her name is. I'm like, boo, fail. But I, no, I don't care.
Starting point is 01:32:31 I don't care, but I'll probably check it out on streaming. There you go. There you go. Starring Tilly Norwood. Oh, God. Mr. C.J. says, Just like Interstellar, I hope to introduce myself to the Oceans franchise. What am I getting myself into?
Starting point is 01:32:46 Oh, a very cool. fun laid back heist situation with some meta moments and a cast that genuinely seems to enjoy working with each other. So it's a good time. Yes. Yeah. And I always feel like sometimes I love all the Mission Impossible
Starting point is 01:33:03 movies, but some of them I'm like, this is so confusing. Am I stupid? And I feel like Oceans does. It does where I'm like, wait, what? Oceans does a good job of it being interesting.
Starting point is 01:33:18 and you're like, okay, but you can totally follow it. Yeah. Go Pal, back was up, Gobel. He says, hell, I'll see whatever Oceans movie they make, even if 12, 13, and 8 were lacklust. Well, I'll say 12 wasn't great, but I love 13. And I think 8 was a lot of fun. So, yeah, I can't go with you on that, go, pal.
Starting point is 01:33:39 But I like that you're still committed to the franchise. Yeah, I'm with you in terms of like I would still see any of them, even if I didn't rock with it heavy. Yeah. Neeks, uh, 2890 says, thick thighs tribe. Let's go. Caught Avatar 2 and agree with all the spider hate staff.
Starting point is 01:33:58 Terrible choices and risking the safety of his family. Boo. Go ahead. Steph. Yes. Like you know, okay, James Cameron. Mr. Cameron. Mr.
Starting point is 01:34:08 I am one of your biggest fans. I adore you. You are one of the greatest of all time. Period. Point blank. I. want like to fight
Starting point is 01:34:21 spider I hate him I hate him and it's not the actor it's not the actor the actor is actually very good it's it's just the character himself gets under my skin like a tick and I'm like oh my god do I have Lyme disease now
Starting point is 01:34:38 like that's how I feel when I see it do I have a my amino compromise for the rest of my life because this guy's Well, we're not done with him, Steph. No, I know. I know. I know we're not done with him.
Starting point is 01:34:56 The way I wish he just like, I don't know, drowned in the last movie so we could just move on with all the rest of the characters that I adore. But no. So, okay, but I'll say this. Yeah. I trust in James Cameron. And I'm hoping something happens. I think what's going to. What it's going to happen after three is they're going to age these characters up and they will take over as the leads of Avatar.
Starting point is 01:35:25 So it'll be curious to see who they bring in to be the older versions of Jake and Nateria's kids and the older version of Spider. Cameron's already saying that he's going to take a break between three and four and possibly do something else and then come back to four and five. So it makes sense to me that he would wait, have Spider come into this position, taking the mask off. Spider is the son, you know, spoiler note, Spider is a son of certain somebody. So having that person takes center stage. I think that's what's going to happen here, Steph, is he's going to take center stage. And he's either going to follow in his father's footsteps or he's going to become the hero of the peace. And so I think, get ready for Spider.
Starting point is 01:36:05 Get ready, everybody. I want him to just become an avatar so that I can like stop dealing. It's like traveling with a baby where you're like, God, damn it. Like you are, you are the weakest link in so many ways. Like, I need you to step up or get out because all my other brothers and sisters are riding. Okay. But you are, you're just not with it. You're just not with it.
Starting point is 01:36:31 So I need you to transform. That's a lot to ask of a baby, but I hear you. Nathan Drake says, Lithgow had a weird British accent and clip hanger. Yeah, yeah. But he was great in, in the crown as well. Winston Churchill with his British accent in that. If you haven't watched it, he's credible in that.
Starting point is 01:36:49 So cliffhanger, listen, I know people love that movie. That movie is so cheeseball. It's not for me. So I don't fault with Gao on that. I've never seen it. So I can't. Yeah. Cody Erickson says,
Starting point is 01:37:02 Roka. I hope you playing Ghost of Yote. I love it. I have. Yes. I actually played three hours last night after Lady Outlaw went to bed. I stayed up to 1.30 in the morning playing that fucking game. It is so different from Sush.
Starting point is 01:37:14 that I'm having to be patient with myself as I play the game because I've been playing Sushima for six months now. I have to be patient with it. But I'm slowly learning it. And shout out to my girl, Erica Ishi, who is the lead of the game. She is the voice. Yeah, she's the English voice and she is the body capture,
Starting point is 01:37:35 the motion capture character. So yeah, shout out to Eric. I'm so happy. So cool. I know. What a incredible journey from like starting out as a in this space to end up as the main character of one of the most revered franchises currently going on in video games. So amazing.
Starting point is 01:37:54 That's awesome. Cody Erickson says, Roca. Oh, yeah. Sorry, Nathan Drake says, I feel like Dumbledore needs to feel warm and friendly, but also powerful and dangerous. I think Lethgal can pull it off. Yeah, 100%. Yeah. Trickster. Why does Jared Leto keep getting chances, unlike other actors, to head these big blockbusters, even after Mobius and the Joker
Starting point is 01:38:16 embarrassment, y'all rock. Thank you. Yeah, I don't think a lot of people were knocking down the door to be the lead of Tron Aries. So, you know, I think there was a sense of defaults, but also Jared is an Oscar winning actor. And so people think that maybe, you know, they can kind of rely on him. But I don't know. Steph, your thoughts. I don't know. I don't know. This guy's a total enigma. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:45 There's parts that I like, I like that he tries so hard, but then it's like sometimes I feel like that's his, the reason I don't like him either, because I feel like the whole method acting is so unattractive and weird to me that I'm like, okay, sometimes I feel bad about how much shit he gets, but then I'm like, okay, but if you're doing stuff like that, then I don't really care about. So I feel very conflicted. I hate hating on someone and I always want someone to do well, but I'm like, but I'm like, But are you kind of crazy?
Starting point is 01:39:14 I just don't know what we're dealing with here. But I appreciate that he tries really hard. Yeah. Yeah, Daniel Day-Lewis recently has been doing the rounds and he's talked about method acting. He's like, there's just negativity around method acting. And he said the people who know how to do it, know how to do it and not upset the process for other people.
Starting point is 01:39:33 The people who think they're doing method acting and upset the process for other people, they're not doing method acting. So I think Daniel was kind of reclaiming that method. acting thing from Jared Leto because Jared Leto has been such a big made such a big deal out of it, but also done some really shitty things to other actors on set. Yeah. So yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:54 Right. Yeah. And any, you can embrace any acting process. If you're fucking with someone else's acting process, you're embracing it wrong. Embrace. Yeah. Or so if you're just being really inappropriate, that's like, that's not cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:08 Tell the truth. Tell the truth. I love it. That's a great reference to concussion. the great Will Smith film. 2026 is the test for DCU. The James Gunworks are acclaimed and Superman hit. Sorry, haters.
Starting point is 01:40:19 The three projects in 2026 have to continue that to some degree. Sure, certainly. No doubt about it. Supergirl and Clayface. I'm excited for Clayface. I'm excited for both of them, but I feel like Clayface will be a cool one that's not a massive budget and just like a cooler underground story that I'm curious to see how that does.
Starting point is 01:40:40 Yeah, for sure. Cowboys fan I do is. So hey guys on the Cardi B top of you guys should check out her episode of On Purpose with Jay Shetty. Oh, I should. I liked the Emma Watson interview. So I'll watch the Cardi B one. You know I did. I loved it.
Starting point is 01:40:53 She is. Yeah, I think Jay Shetty is so great. Honestly, it's like I see him everywhere. And sometimes I'm like, am I getting Jay Shetty fatigue? And then he says another great piece of advice. I'm like, no, I think he's just awesome. Him and his wife rock. And we made the right people famous, I think.
Starting point is 01:41:11 Yeah. Yeah. Because, okay, you want to know what it is? I worked in the health and wellness podcast space. And I'll tell you this, 90% of them are fraudsters. Of course they are. They are just absolute bottom feeders who are preaching wellness yet like massive assholes. And you're just like, what?
Starting point is 01:41:34 And as a person who just I adore authenticity, which is part of the reason I love Cardi B, that really doesn't sit right with me, especially when you're selling products to people. But I feel like Jay Shetty really has, like actually being a monk, like I've never heard anything bad about him. He seems like a genuinely nice person that I'm like, okay, I think he might be an exception over here. No, you're right. And I mean, you don't have to look any farther than R.J. Jr. or Dr. Phil to look at the health and wellness space and see how many quacks there are in that space. And look, my lady outlaw used to work in the food network space. And you'd be surprised at how many of these people can't even cook themselves at the chef level and how many of their cookbooks,
Starting point is 01:42:22 their recipes are not theirs at all that they've taken from other like lower level recipe people and co-opted it. You know, I hate, I hate when people who are more successful set up programs to help younger up and coming people and then take their ideas and help to help themselves. Totally. Totally. It's so disturbing. Yeah. In whatever field you're in, I hate it. A conference fan. I do says, hi guys. Just wanted to say to everyone on here. Stay safe. The gloves are off. Watch what you post and say online, particularly if you're a person of color. Yeah, for sure. You hear that for sure.
Starting point is 01:42:59 Yeah, for sure. I know. I honestly, you guys had the craziest thing happen. I haven't talked about it wasn't so crazy it was just like this is how ignorant people are getting and it's like i don't know exactly what this person's intentions were but it was very weird harry had this procedure and he was it was everything went well totally standard and he had to be under like generalist anesthesia and he was coming out of it and he was i uh he was getting rolled down by the nurse and he i was like oh thank you so much for taking care of him. Like, thank you.
Starting point is 01:43:37 I'm going to go pull up the car. I pull up the car. And while I'm pulling up the car, the nurse is this, I think this matters for the story, this white blonde lady. And she's like asking about our marriage and stuff. And he was like, oh, yeah, we've been married for like a year and a half or something like that. And she's like, oh, any like immigration issues with her?
Starting point is 01:44:02 and he couldn't wait to tell me obviously but it was like the inappropriateness to ask someone out at their doctor's office and then also I feel like the ignorance of like it does feel like to this the last comments point like it feels like as a person of color it feels like all of us are under this weird spectacle that is I mean like as a brown person I felt it after 9-11 but it feels like It's like that same thing where you're like, it's so weird. Yeah, it's bizarre. It's like no matter what you sound like, what you're wearing doesn't matter. And that's that shouldn't matter, but it's like that's weird too. It just feels like the ignorance has gone up. People have, people have been weaponized and a lot of people of a certain color have been weaponized to hate us. I hate a people that call blame them for their failings in life.
Starting point is 01:45:02 Like I didn't succeed because you took it off. opportunity from me. No, you weren't good and you weren't good at it. And that's it. And I think the audacity of someone to ask someone about their wives or significant others situation, immigration wise, that's a privilege that I don't understand. Like I would absolutely, I would have shut her down in such a horrible way. Like I don't know you. Yeah. Yeah. Like, who are you to even say a word? So weird. Yeah. People, again, they just feel this like, well, I'm in. empowered now to do this. I could do this now because I'm protected. Yeah, it's his comfort level. That's bizarre. It was like any, like not considering how
Starting point is 01:45:42 uncomfortable that is for us. But yeah, so I mean, we laughed about it, but it's actually not funny. You laughed about it because you could. If you, yeah, right. Yes. Yes. Yes. It would be a whole other book. King of the Wicker people says, to be clear, I liked season one, a peacemaker and Superman. Also, if you want a semi-fix of Tokyo Godfather, watch Tokyo Vice. I love that show on HBO. So, Paul is an American journalist who infiltrates the yakuza based on a true story. Yeah, I have the book. I thought the book was great.
Starting point is 01:46:11 So I loved the series. You like the series? I never. It's slow. Like it's not, it's, it paces itself, you know? And so if you're in for a slow show, it's going to take you through the process, then you're in for a good time. But if you don't like stuff that's slow, then I don't think you're going to enjoy it to anybody, you know. Cowboys Fan on Tuesday's quick film tip for cinema lovers, draft house does great.
Starting point is 01:46:33 releases of old films yes i agree yeah that's the one thing i miss about la step is that like oh that's cool they have places where you can watch old movies in the big theaters all over l.a you know so yeah Alex says both of you are 100% correct today i think we need to stop being like yeah that's crazy right and start treating this with much more urgency before it's too late step love your nails thank you yeah i i'm with you it's like i for a second there i was like i'm just not going to pay attention to
Starting point is 01:47:03 it. But now I'm like with AI, I feel like you have to pay attention to it. Yeah. There's no way out. Uh, so sound juicebox says, hot mic today or Friday. Today, 4 p.m. PT. Yes, the hot mic tonight to 4 p.m. p.t. Jeff and I getting into it having someone talking about it. We'll definitely talk a little more on the AI stuff, but we're also going to talk about more about what's going on with a number of subjects, especially the WB stuff. So tune in tonight 4 p.m. p.t. Live. Uh, eclipse says Huntricks finally performed Golden Live and they were amazing. KPDH, K-pop demon album, and every song on it has gone platinum
Starting point is 01:47:37 and golden double platinum. The girls are getting everything they deserve. Yeah. So good. I mean, it is really been so fun to watch and like, it's seeing it blow up and Harry's like, I feel like you watch, we're like the first
Starting point is 01:47:53 one to watch this the first week and we're obsessed with it. And there was a few of us in the space because we kind of just check out, especially if you like animated. Like I know Joe's Star and Emma were talking about it as well. And of course, Wendy. Because Wendy, I feel like,
Starting point is 01:48:10 Wendy has all the ownership because it's like her world's combining. So I've been messaging Wendy about it because she's like a true K-pop band and then obviously a great movie critic. And I have been loving seeing the voice acting cast and the singing cast blow up. I think they're so fun. And they all kind of are like their characters. so much, but I thought their live performance was amazing. Like, actually seeing them hit those notes was crazy.
Starting point is 01:48:41 Like, I'm like, wow, these girls are amazing. Yeah. I agree with you, 100%. And, yeah, with Wendy especially. This is her wheelhouse finally come to bear, and she is doing so much for it. And shout out to Marshall, who's helping her get into all of these events because he knows her love for K-pop stuff.
Starting point is 01:48:59 So, yeah, and Laura. Yeah, Laura Iscaro as well. That's great stuff seeing that for them. Miriam Serenity Moons says, have you both some good stories about yourselves? Yeah, but we're running out of time, Mirjam. So I'm sorry I can't get into anything. Anything you want to say, step, or? Oh, no, no stories, but thank you for, I mean, I told just one.
Starting point is 01:49:21 But thank you for checking in, yeah. Yeah. Speaking of your stories, RQMD says, I paid for my vets trips to Italy for the past 20 years with my dog's bills. Oh, my God, right? What is that? And then the also thing that I should have accounted for and I just completely didn't because this is the first year I've learned about compounding figures. Oh, yeah. I having a 65 pound dog in how much she eats, it's like, I mean, it's like a, it's a full blown person that you're feeding. And I don't want to just feed her kibble and even kibble's expensive. So it's really expensive. Yeah. My lady wants a dog and I told because she loves dogs. We take care of her sister's dogs all the time and she's like and I'm like, have you looked at how much it calls them?
Starting point is 01:50:09 Get a small dog if you do. Right. She loves the little chihuahua. She's a big fan. Yeah, that that's fine. Because then you can get it from the pound and then you, the, the bills are way, way less for a small dog. She's got her sister's gotten the dogs because her sister's a corner in Los Angeles. She's got the dogs. when the people have died. And so she's like taken a couple of to make sure they have a home and stuff.
Starting point is 01:50:36 So yeah, she's awesome. And then they're fully trained. Yes, 100%. Mike Joyce says, don't care about Kiri's feeling. Spider needs to die. Oh, there you go, Mike. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:50:46 Thank you, Mike. Sometimes we're not always aligned. But when we are, I feel it. Eclipse says, Jay Cameron is showing too much in these trailers. That's what you think. That's what you think. And then you go see the movie.
Starting point is 01:50:58 you're like, holy shit, because it's a three hour movie now. It's a three hour movie. He's not showing. I'm not watching the trailers because I don't need to for my channel. So I'm, I'm just don't watch it if you don't want to get spoiled in any way. Yeah, that's true. But I think we're fine. I don't think it's going to spoil much.
Starting point is 01:51:19 Yeah, it's a three hour movie. You guys, we're at 57 really quick. Keep sending in your stream labs. We can do this. And if we get like 15 more, it'll be solid. Can you stick around? Because we're getting close to that 11 side. Oh, we are.
Starting point is 01:51:34 Yeah. Yeah, but try to send them in quickly. Okay, well, let's try to answer quickly as well. Go-Bass says they never recapt to the level of ocean's 11, but I've never been unhappy after any of the sequels. I've been a Soderberg stand since out of sight. Agreed. Agree. Still arguably, in my opinion, J-Lo's greatest performance out of sight.
Starting point is 01:51:50 But I hear hunters and I hear Selena. So I hear you all. Enough. Yeah. Enough. Right. Enough. Enough.
Starting point is 01:51:58 Oh, so good. Scott Fisher says, Rocha, your obsession against gun is at play again. You know that box office is all about the gross net the net. You like to diminish this. I didn't know what? Where do you? I feel like, okay, let me defend Roca. I actually feel like that is, at least I haven't seen all of his streams.
Starting point is 01:52:16 I feel like for this stream, it is so unfair because he very clearly said it did well. Yeah. It did what it needed to do. Yeah, I know. People just have their obsession. I call out James. And you like Peacemaker. You just said that.
Starting point is 01:52:30 And Superman and Creature Commandos. I and Guardians films, except for the, no, I liked all three of them. I was going to say the second one, but no, I like the second one. My issue is his PR thing. That's my only issue with gun. I don't root against James Gunn. I don't root against him failing. I want his stuff to succeed because if it's good, people are going to like it and I'm going to like it.
Starting point is 01:52:49 I don't root against, but I think his PR stuff is where he needs work. And that's people try to mix the two because. Their minds can't somehow compartmentalize. I don't understand it. Princess Positive is I want James Cameron's Star Wars. Spider Jedi. Oh, no. James Cameron should not do Star Wars.
Starting point is 01:53:05 What is the Princess Positive? Love your name, by the way. I feel like we have a law in common, but Spider Jedi, I wouldn't mind a James Cameron Star Wars. Absolutely wouldn't mind that. But get Spider in one universe is enough. Yeah. What do you mean?
Starting point is 01:53:25 Spider-Jet? eye. And Princess Positive, is that your real face? Is that your avatars are you? Because it looks like you maybe were a girl band, a girl band back in the 90s or the 2000s. I like it. Solstown juicebox is Sauterberg returning for the new oceans movie?
Starting point is 01:53:40 We don't know yet. George did not say whether Soderberg is returning or not. But the article mentioned rumors that David Leach is being looked at, who did a bullet train and other things. So maybe it'll be David Leach. Maybe Soderberg's kind of done with doing oceans movies. we will see them. John Daria says,
Starting point is 01:53:58 am I the only one a bit worried that Heat, too, may not hit as hard as the original? Are you guys excited and do you like the potential cast involved? Yeah, rumors of DiCaprio, certainly that's the strongest rumor. Then Austin Butler, Adam Driver, Bradley Cooper, possibly playing the villain. There's a lot of rumors about the cast.
Starting point is 01:54:16 It's very male-heavy, male-centric, which I think is the Heap brand. But, yes, I worry because Michael Mann's recent films have not been that great. so I do concern I do have worried what about you stuff anything I would be excited to see a heat too it just feels like
Starting point is 01:54:34 the story was kind of closed so I don't know but the world is cool that they created I would definitely see it I just don't have a necessarily high anticipation for it one way or the other and to be fair it was 30 years ago yeah yeah and I just saw it I mean Christian had me watch it probably like four
Starting point is 01:54:54 years ago now or did I watch it on Sin and pals maybe I watched it recently I don't remember and it was really good yeah hey Chauder says hi guys I'm in a 25 year marriage
Starting point is 01:55:08 and because we are an interracial relationship and I get is your husband a citizen I love my handsome husband from Pakistan none of people's business yeah yeah totally um I Pakistan is awesome I would love to visit
Starting point is 01:55:24 Yeah. And congrats on 25 years. That's amazing. That is amazing. You know, we just crossed seven of being together. I, 25, I can't imagine. Although I hope we get there. More than most. More than says, did you see Zelda's post her dad's AI video? How long before Disney calls her to use Rob Williams' AI voice in a new Aladdin cartoon? Yeah, but I mean, she was saying to people to stop sending her this stuff. Like Zelda, that's Robin Williams' daughter. She was saying, stop sending me this stuff because I find it offensive. She wasn't saying. saying like this is a good thing. So I don't know. She like seemed like she hated it. She sent, I mean,
Starting point is 01:56:02 made a huge post about how it's disturbing to her. She thinks her dad would have hated it too and to please stop and it like makes her feel bad. So I feel like I actually never saw it, but I think we should definitely respect her in that sense. Yeah, I'm sure Disney has already tried to have talks with her about it to, you know,
Starting point is 01:56:21 use his voice and whatever. But yeah, She's been clear that they're not. And the one they used on that anniversary thing a couple of years ago, that was stuff he had said in deleted scenes of Aladdin. So she's very clear. She doesn't want him going AI in any way, shape, or form.
Starting point is 01:56:37 So, yeah. RQDM. Justices support for Steph and John. Thank you. RQDMD, MDSMD. Cedger says, either of you watching the morning show. No, I don't watch it.
Starting point is 01:56:45 Steph, do you watch the show? You know what? I watched the first season and loved it and just didn't continue. You like it was one of those shows. I think because I was, did it come out during the pandemic? Yes. Okay. So I watched it with my mom because I stayed at my parents' house for like six months having the time of my life there.
Starting point is 01:57:04 I mean, that's really insensitive to say. But like being from L.A. when you have a place where there's San Diego where there's more air and space, it was like, oh my God. Thank God I have a place to be outside of L.A. right now. And but we watched that show together. and I loved it. And I just, I think I didn't circle back because I didn't, wasn't watching it with her. So I just saw it and I was like, damn, it looks so fun. And maybe I should just catch up.
Starting point is 01:57:30 Yeah, it's up to the fourth season now. I think Marianne Cotillard has now come on to the show. Yeah. Nathan Drake says, speaking of thick thighs. Whoa, Jalo. Come on, Roka. Jalo, she's got the butt. I don't know if she has the thick thighs.
Starting point is 01:57:46 Does she have the thick thighs? Yeah, she just has an amazing body. I don't know. because like when you see someone with thick thighs like me it is like there's a difference between someone with just like thick thighs like I have it's like you know sometimes it's like I see myself I don't wear it I rarely will you'll rarely see me in a short skirt and I don't really wear short shorts because it's like so obtrusive JLo just has like a like an amazing food she's like a culture. Yeah, no denying that.
Starting point is 01:58:22 Ding is now support for Roca and Steph get that W. Yes, thank you. We're up to 68, so we are ahead of the 67. But keep them coming for as long as we can keep Steph on here. Gobe says, on the subject of out of sight, the series, Karen Sisko with Carla Guicino, based on the same book is also excellent. Criminally canceled too soon. Yes, I remember that series. He was on ABC. As someone who had a massive crush in Carla Gujino growing up, yes, I watched that show religiously. Yeah, I thought it was good.
Starting point is 01:58:50 Legend M. M. 600. Love you, Steph. Who's tonight? Giants or the Eagles? Ooh. I, I like the Eagles. I'm not a football person, but I like what the Eagles. I like the Eagles.
Starting point is 01:59:03 I like their quarterback and my uncle's from Philly. So I'm kind of like and I like him. He's one of my funny uncles. So I'm like, okay. Right on. Yeah, I go Eagles. This is the better team. Giants look like they're falling off the cliff.
Starting point is 01:59:19 Nathan Drake, ever see unfinished life? J-Lo was good in that. No, I've never seen that one. Jeff, have you? No. There you go. Josh Vascovish, have either view watched the lost bus yet? Funny you ask, I am scheduled to watch it at 1 o'clock this afternoon. I want to talk about it with Jeff when we do the hot mic tonight.
Starting point is 01:59:35 So, no, I've not seen it yet. I'm sorry, Steph, I'm sorry, Steph, have you seen it yet? No. No, is it new? Yeah, it's on Apple TV Plus. It's Matthew McConaughey and America Ferreira, and it's based on the fires that happened a few years ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:59:51 But they saved a bunch of kids. Yeah, yeah. Hill Nellos, what's up, Hill? Shout to Roka and Steph. I want a Monster Squad remake with the likes of Stranger Things and Skeleton Crew. I feel this could be done in the right way in this day. Yeah. Yeah, that could be cool.
Starting point is 02:00:05 Yeah, people would love that. Absolutely, Hill. Totally agree with this. The number of young actors, too, would be perfect for it. Jody, Money, what would you give the odds at the big peacemaker came in tonight? Is Kyle Chandler's hell, Howard? Yes, could there be a death in tonight's episode that gets on the lantern Cores radar?
Starting point is 02:00:20 Oh, that's very interesting. Great suggestion, Jody. That's a cool. Yeah, that's definitely interesting. Yeah. That'd be very cool. I think he's going to kill off his wife. I think he's going to kill off hardcore.
Starting point is 02:00:33 I don't want him to, but I think he might do it. Wait, who is? Gang, gun in the peacemaker finale. Oh. I think you might kill off Jennifer Holland. I don't know, but I think he's. She's done so great this season. That's why I think they're going to kill her off because they spent all.
Starting point is 02:00:51 Yeah, she had a huge season. Yeah. Like if Vigilante dies and sadly if Ata Bio dies or Ane or Economist dies, you're not going to feel that. If hardcore dies, you're going to feel that. And I think her pulling the gun to shoot Keith, I think that's what's going to lead to her being killed. Oh, God. That's my belief. That's my belief.
Starting point is 02:01:14 Goal passes. When I rewatch Heat recently, I was. amazed how young de Niro looked probably just a sign of how old I'm getting myself. I love that you think that's young De Niro. He's in his 50s in heat. Young De Niro. That's funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:28 Ziano Chaosus is Zelda Williams saying AI is the human centipede of content. It's such a good way to put it. Yeah, 100%. 100. That's hysterical. If you guys know that reference, don't watch the movie, but look up the reference. RQMDS DVD says support for John Steff and Honeybear. Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 02:01:44 Nice. Thank you. And Go Pal wraps us up saying F the Eagles always in everywhere, but giants are bad. There you go. All right. Yeah. I mean. Go ahead.
Starting point is 02:01:55 Go ahead. Go ahead. Steph. Yes. They're, I feel like they're either hated or they're loved. Like they're one of those football teams where they're rider dies or like people hate them. That's okay. 100%.
Starting point is 02:02:08 And Go pal, I hear you. I was, I grew up in Northern Virginia myself. I am trained to hate the Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants as a. Washington football fan. All right, there you go. That's our show. We got more. CJ said finally finished. Bear, season four was kind of mid,
Starting point is 02:02:23 kind of concerned about the quality going forward story-wise. Love all the characters, though. See, I couldn't disagree with you more. I loved season four. I like that we're moving slowly with these characters like we would in real life. And so for me, I and Christian enjoyed it as well. We talked about it the other day.
Starting point is 02:02:39 Do you get chance to see it, stuff? Season four? I have to catch up. I love the bear. I'm sure. I like season three. people didn't love it. So I think I'm going to like it just because to your point, CJ, I love the characters. So I feel like I'll be fine with it. But it definitely is a slower pace show.
Starting point is 02:02:56 Yeah, absolutely. All right, but there you go. That's our show for this morning. Thank you all so much for helping us beat the previous number. Now we'll see what Chris and Winston do tomorrow. Don't forget to join them tomorrow at 9 a.m. PT. And shout out to Steph Sabra. CJ said the wedding episode is a banger, though. I agree, CJ, that was the best episode of the season of season four, that wedding episode, especially when you know who showed up as you know who's sister and they had the, or friend rather, and they had the back and forth.
Starting point is 02:03:59 It was amazing. Legend MMS 600 is Go Giants and New QB Dark. You mean Jackson, Dart. Yeah, dart. Okay. There. As for me, you guys can follow me at the Roka says, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, all social media.
