This is a paid message from GoFundMe.
Meet Juan Naola.
When a son was hospitalized for a viral infection,
Juan started a GoFundMe to pay for medical expenses.
It was 5K to pay the bill for my son,
and I need only 22 hours.
It was amazing.
People really trust on GoFundMe.
How did Juan raise $5,000 in less than a day?
He posted a short video on GoFundMe,
telling his story in 30 seconds.
30 seconds.
Be specific, be quick,
and tell what are you going to be using the funds for?
I was nervous to do it because it doesn't feel okay to ask money,
but you shouldn't be nervous.
Sometimes you just have to do it and see the results.
We were able to save my son's life.
Thanks to GoFundMe that we still have my son with us.

This message reflects one person's experience.
What's up, everybody?
Welcome to the Christian Harlov show.
I'm John Roka, sitting in for the man, Christian Harloff, as he's off, probably shooting reactions or doing God knows what.
But today on the Christian Harlov show, it is the hot mic invasion of the Christian Harlov show with myself.
And Jeff Snyder, joining us, the insider himself.
We're here to discuss all things, CinemaCon, that big Warner Brothers panel and the Superman stuff involved in it.
You saw the headline for this episode.
And people are raving about the Superman.
footage. What does Jeff have to say about it? We break down CinemaCon as a whole. And Jeff might have
some tidbits for you all to enjoy. So let's not waste any time here. It is the Christian
Harlov Show. And let's get this thing going. Here we go. What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Christian
Harlov Show. I am John Rocha here. Very excited to be welcoming my co-host for this particular
episode of the Christian Harlov Show. It is my hot mic partner and compadre, the insider himself,
live from Las Vegas.
Jeff Snyder.
What's up, Snyder?
Can I do it, Johnny?
Should I do it?
Hello, Johnny, boy!
Welcome, Jeff.
Good to see you, man.
You look great.
Look at you.
You got the white suit on.
You got the nice pink color shirt.
I respected.
It looks white, but it's sear stuff.
You can see the one.
Oh, nice.
Yeah, because it's hot up there, ain't it?
No.
It's actually pretty crummy weather.
It's pretty chilly here.
Oh, all right.
Fairpoint, but you're in a nice hotel room.
Thanks for taking time to join us here, man.
And look, Jeff's going to be with us over the next 90 minutes.
So for those of you who are sending in your super chats, get them in now.
You know, we want to break that 100 super chats from yesterday.
Want to break Roxy, show love for the hot mic.
And just a little plug for both of us, Jeff.
We host the Hotline Nation channel every Thursday at 4 p.m. p.t.
Sometimes the schedule changes, depending on my schedules or Jeff's schedule,
but we're pretty much Thursday at 4 p.m. p.t.
this week, however, we're going to wait for Jeff to get back from CinemaCon,
so we will be doing it on Friday of this week,
and we break down all the things in the world of entertainment,
raw, authentic and unfiltered.
Wouldn't you say there, Jeff?
Oh, I'd say so.
It's the only way I'm going to do it.
Absolutely, absolutely.
So just a quick reminder as well to you all.
We've got a lot of stuff coming out of the Christian Harlov show for the rest of the week.
Other co-hosts coming in.
Other stuff is going to be back tomorrow,
and he'll be back on Friday, of course, with Capes and Cows.
with Koi and Winston.
But right now, this is the focus.
Let's get to 100 Super Chats as we go along.
Jeff, let's start with one story here that's a bit tough to start with,
but when we have to start with.
Did you say 100 super chats, John?
Yeah, we're trying to get to 100 super chats on this particular one.
Sorry, go on.
We'll see if they can do it.
But, you know, as I was just about to start off saying,
you know, we got to start in this one place, Jeff,
we definitely have to talk about the passing of Val Kilmer, which happened last night here.
And I'm going to read just what they have here on Dark Horizons for him.
And of course, you and I are going to chime in with our thoughts on this great venerable actor.
Famed actor Val Kilmer has died.
The New York Times confirmed the report that the actor has passed away from pneumonia at the age of 65.
Kilmer had battled throw cancer for several years in the late 2010.
It's had extremely difficulty, at extreme difficulty speaking since.
Kilmore first start in the Abrams-Zucker Abrams' 1984 comedy top secret.
Martha Coolidge is real genius before really breaking through with Tony Scott's Top Gun in 1986,
which he were prized again in a phenomenal scene,
which I posted on my Twitter in 2022's Top Gun Maverick.
He remained steadily employed for decades despite a reputation for being difficult to work
at times he gained fame for his performances like Doc Holiday in Tombstone,
Chris Scheherlis in Michael Man's Heat, Jim Morrison and Oliver Stones the Doors,
Bruce Wayne, Batman, and Schumacher's Batman Forever.
Simon Templar and Phil Noises the Saint, Sergeant John and David Mamet Spartan, one of my closet
favorites of his, and Gay Perry and Shane Black's Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang. He was also Mad Martigan
and Ron Howard's Willow, Colonel Patterson and Stephen Hopkins Ghosts in Darkness, Elvis
in Tony Scott's true romance there. Agent Levoy and Thunderheart, another one of my closet
favorites from him, Philip the second, Oliver Stones, Alexander, also the island of Dr. Moreau.
He was Moses in the Prince of Egypt. He was von Conth in McGrew,
and a number of other films like the Real McCoy, Red Planet, Salt and C,
at first sight, Mask and Anonymous, and also provided the voice of Kit in 2008's
Knight Rider. At his peak in the 1990s, he was one of the best paid actors in his films have
grossed over $3.5 billion at the box office. He's survived by his daughter, Mercedes,
and his son, Jack, who I was very lucky to interview four years ago when they were promoting
VAL, which I will put up on my channel sometime the next couple of days. Jeff, your thoughts on
Val Kimmer. One of our legendary get-togethers was a
a rewatch of heat and we shared our love for Val Kimmer.
So what are your thoughts on his passing and on his legacy as an actor?
I mean, I really do think that he was one of the greats of his generation, right?
I mean, I remember first hearing about him with like the doors.
Yeah, right.
Orson, who, you know, I had a limited comprehension of as a young kid, but I knew my parents were excited to see the doors.
And everyone, like, he was just considered like a Johnny DeWerson.
I feel like, like just an immediate talent.
And his star burned bright.
I mean, he got all the way to Batman.
Yeah.
But for me, he was never really a movie star.
I think he was better as a character actor.
He was one of these beautiful guys like a Brad Pitt,
who actually functions better as a character actor.
And that's why I love what he does in heat.
I mean, for me, that's the movie.
Yeah, yeah.
I think you're right.
You know, coming up at a time,
because I'm a little bit older than Jeff.
Like for me,
the doors came out when I was in my 20s, right?
I mean,
that was a seminal film.
For me,
I was such a massive fan of Oliver Stone
and getting into the doors music
just around that time
when the doors came out.
So his performance,
I mean,
it was transcendent.
I think Jennifer Tilly posted about it,
saying that when there was a bunch of auditions
going on for the doors
and there were pairing people up,
that Kilmer showed up without shoes,
wearing the doors,
the hair along,
walked in an audition and he said,
and she said,
everybody knew he had gotten the part
before he even left the audition area.
That just gives you the idea
and the feeling of the amazing talent
that he had.
And look,
the beginning,
he's doing the in on the joke stuff
with Top Secret,
real genius,
kind of like my bodyguard.
I love real genius.
Yeah,
real genius.
One of those,
it's kind of one of those forgotten
but closet,
but like guilty pleasure movies
in the 1980s,
but a lot of people do love it.
Then Top Gun,
he is so powerful in Top Gun.
but of course iconic as Doc Holliday
and then getting into these smaller films,
I think you're right to kind of connect him
to this Brad Pitt kind of line of
a really good-looking actors
who were much more suited for character roles.
You could even throw Paul Newman in the mix
as a beautiful guy, but his instinct was always to play
these kind of deeper characters,
explore the underbelly.
And I thought his work in Spartan,
his work in Thunderheart is stuff that people kind of overlook,
yet he brings so much to all of his roles, you know.
And of course, we know he was, the rumors about him being difficult to work with and what have you.
But, you know, he was a guy who I think a lot of people respect and enjoy and was a part of multiple decades of people's film watching.
I don't think he was ever nominated for an Oscar, but like one of the tributes I saw today said that his, he did like a one man show as Mark Twain.
Yes.
Yeah.
I think in Hollywood Forever Semeter or something like that.
And people were like, this is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
I just don't think Val Kilmer really got the credit he was.
do as an actor.
You know, they rarely do until it's too late.
But yeah, we definitely lost.
We lost someone who was still creating even, you know,
while dealing with cancer and going through this horrible ordeal for the last decade.
He put him, he laid it all out there in the documentary Val,
which again, it's great to watch Heat and all these, you know,
great Valchimer performances.
Right.
But to see how he bears his soul and, you know, just how a man is around his family.
in that Val documentary.
That's the one I hope that people watch.
I agree.
And there's just these actors that come along and you just immediately love them
if you appreciate rebellious artistry.
And Val always radiated that.
To go through the wars of what he went through and his cancer
and still to show up in something like Top Gun Maverick
and have that wonderful scene with him and Tom Cruise,
I thought that was incredible as like kind of a button on his career, Jeff,
to have that scene.
You know, there's one more thing coming out with him,
but like this is the end of Val Kilmer,
and it seems poetic in a lot of ways.
This is the end.
Yeah, great point.
Great reference, absolutely.
All right.
Well, you know, we wanted to give tribute,
want to give love to Val Kilmer.
Of course, our thoughts go out to his family
and to his surviving children there as they move on
and process this loss.
And of course, Joanne Wally Kilmer's former wife as well,
as part of his life.
All right, let's move on to some other.
other stuff here, Jeff. Let's bring up another article and take a look at it as we go through
our rundown here. There's a big news story that broke here with Once Upon a Time, brother,
in Hollywood. Apparently, there is a sequel coming on the way here, Jeff Fincher,
through, though initially dismissed by some example, Fool's joke, and it's turned out to be real.
David Fincher and Brad Pitt are teaming with Quentin Tarantino for a sequel spino to
Tarantino's acclaimed 2019 film once upon a time in Hollywood.
The playlist broke the exclusive saying the project is the screenplay,
the Tarantino's originally planned 10th directorial effort.
The movie critic evolved into with the writer exploring the further adventures of Pitt stuntman character,
Cliff Booth from the 2019 film.
Certainly that was something you brought up on the Hot Mike numerous times, Jeff,
that Cliff Booth was a part of what he was rumored to be a part of what he was writing here.
Sources for the outlet indicate that while Tarantino doesn't want to direct it,
he didn't want the script languishing around and so approach Fincher.
with the opportunity. Fincher has a first look deal at Netflix, and so the streamer reportedly put
together to deal with a budget rumor to be quite high in the ballpark of $200 million over 20 million
who's already reportedly spent on obtaining Tarantino's script. Wow. Finscher and Pitt then opted to
put aside everything they're working on and make this the priority with Fincher directing and
Pitt starring. Things are moving so fast that the plan is to shoot the project this July in California.
Further casting is expected to be announced shortly. So it's not clear if anyone else, DeCaprio or Margot
Robbie will return for a came or a supporting role.
I mean, Robbie did live, so the outlet claims Robbie's reps have said she's available
if they need her.
The insider himself then posted his own report, saying this is the rumored sequel to a film
he didn't direct project Fincher and Pitt were linked to a few weeks ago and that DiCaprio's
and talks to return.
He also confirmed on X that this is not a joke.
Then deadlines subsequently checked with their courses and confirmed the project.
But cautions, it is not certain this will all work out, and it seems unlikely that
DeCaprio will take part in this.
this one, which THR backed up.
So, Jeff, your thoughts on this, do you, what are your thoughts on all of this?
You reported on it.
You put it on your newsletter.
What was your reaction to this?
And then what have you been hearing about this behind the scenes?
Johnny, I've been on this longer than anybody.
Okay.
Hats off to the playlist.
Hats off to the playlist for scooping this.
And it was, I mean, listen, this had to come from Fincher himself.
Yeah, right.
They had those relationship with Soda Bird.
and a lot of directors.
But, like, they had every detail,
they had every element.
So I'd much rather lose the story to Rodrigo
at the playlist than to have it show up on deadline,
which was the expectation.
So let me take you back.
Please.
Fanamator, keep it up and you're gone.
Like, literally, don't even comment again.
If I see your name in the comment section again, you're gone.
Is Fanamator?
Okay.
No, that's on.
Fanamator, if you comment again, you're gone.
I don't care what it is.
Yeah.
Okay.
Here we go.
I heard weeks ago that Fincher and Pitt were working together again.
Yeah.
It was going to be at Netflix.
I tried to figure out what the project was, took dozens of guesses.
Yeah.
Then weeks went by, and I knew that Jordan Rumi at World of Real also knew that Fincher and Pitt were reteaming at Netflix.
Here's the thing.
And you guys tell me, like, what you would do.
if you're in my position.
Jordan and I both agreed because I talked to him.
I hope I'm not blowing up his spot by saying that.
It's not really news.
To you guys.
Brad Pitt, David Fincher making a movie together.
So what?
Yeah, okay.
Okay.
What is the movie?
Right.
So I was like, we're not, I'm not reporting this, Jordan.
You do what you got to do.
Right, right, right.
And the other thing about that,
at that part was that I'd heard that the project was part of the coolest package in Hollywood history.
Okay, this wasn't just them doing some fucking movie.
This wasn't another make.
This was something that was going to get the entire world like go, oh shit.
A few weeks went by and I got another element of it, which was that this is a sequel to a movie that David didn't direct.
Yeah.
I shared that with Jordan.
and he thought that was for publication.
Oh.
In sight.
And I was up,
and I'm just going to lay it all over there
because I'm an honest,
transparent dude.
I was pretty upset with Jordan.
Yeah.
But it turned out to be a misunderstanding.
I forgive him.
Like,
I really respect what Jordan is doing at World of Real.
Yeah, we quote him all the time on the hot mic.
Yeah.
So I said,
and I quote him all the time in the newsletter.
And it's the number,
like the playlist used to be the place that I would go to for news every day.
And now it's World of Real.
It's like straight up.
But I was upset.
And maybe I overreacted, but it was like, dude, how could you think this was for publication?
Now I have your fucking horrible comments section, all due respect to world real.
Get taking just unlimited guesses as to what this sequel is.
And not to mention, now you put the trades on the scent.
Okay.
It's just like, that's why you hold stuff back.
But it's like, I can't expect everyone to know my strength.
strategy as a reporter and things like that, you know.
So I'm sure the story did very well for Jordan over at World of Real.
But I wanted to continue to wait to find out what it was.
My source just, and I respect that.
Like, they wouldn't do it, right?
They gave me a zillion chances to guess.
And in fact, while talking to other sources, John, like I talked to a major producer,
we were going back and forth about what it could be.
And I brought up the Cliff Booth movie.
Yes.
I was like, I wonder if it's the Cliff Booth thing.
And then I was like, nah, that seems like a bridge too far.
Like, you know, does Quentin even have the rights?
And I dismissed it.
And for some reason, I didn't go back to the original source and check.
I thought I had and that he had denied.
But that wasn't the case.
So then this story drops.
And I'm like, oh, my fucking God.
Like, I can't believe it.
It was sitting right there for me the whole time.
And then I went back to the original source and, you know, got everything.
So.
I don't care what the trades say about unlikely this and doubtful that.
Right, right, right.
Leonardo DiCaprio is in negotiations to be in the move.
Okay.
That is where things are today, right now at this moment.
He is in talks to be in the move.
You know, Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't really lowers quote.
Now, this is a small role.
It's not a starring role.
So I'm assuming they pay him $20 million for this.
That's probably what they're paying pit.
Right.
But it's like, how do you say no to these guys?
Brad Pitt just rode shotgun for you and in your movie.
And once in a time,
now you're not going to fucking show up for a small roller or cameo to work with David Fincher.
Yeah, yeah.
Come on.
So it can be, you know, he may be driving a hard bargain.
It may also be a fucking negotiating tactic, right?
If this movie's going this summer, John.
Yeah.
What else is it supposed to go this summer?
A little movie called Evil Knievel.
Right.
Yeah, that's right.
With him and, uh, uh, uh, rumor to be, uh,
with Adrian Brody, right.
And he also does not have a deal for that.
This is a movie that's supposed to go this summer.
He doesn't have a deal to star.
So it's like, if you're at a studio,
are you spending the millions of dollars in pre-production,
knowing that Leo can be a little fickle
and maybe walk away and leave you high and dry,
like Jo might.
Yeah.
So neither deal is done.
And for all I know, he's leveraging them against each other.
Yeah.
But again, it's a small, I don't think that's necessarily the case
because such a small role, I think,
in once by the time in Hollywood.
I think it's going to work out.
We'll see.
Yeah.
It's a Tarantino script.
It's a Fincher directed film.
And he has a relation with Netflix, right?
Would look up or whatever that film was with him and Jennifer Warrantz.
So, you know, it's clearly just figuring out whatever the minor details are.
And, John, what is the number one thing that makes you want to sign on to what is probably going to be a hit movie?
I mean, besides, I mean, it's like, oh, do I need this right now?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
As far as I can tell, Leonardo DiCaprio is going to be the star of $140 million flop.
Right.
Yeah, the PTA film.
Oh, yeah.
Looks great.
I think it looks great.
Don't think it's going to make back its money.
I think it's going to end up like Mickey 17 where it has its fans.
Right.
It's going to lose the studio a lot of money.
Did you enjoy the footage?
Did you get a chance to see the footage?
We'll talk about all that.
All right.
Go ahead.
But to me, it's like you're going to turn down a Fincher movie coming off the heels of a movie that's going to underperform.
yeah you're right
these are our two favorite filmmakers
or at least mine
here Tarantino this is a mind-blowing package
for this to have broken when it did
right before the Warner Brothers panel
which I spent the entire most of the panel
just doing a write-through of the Tarantino shit
as more and more information came in
like that's how you steal the thunder
of every fucking studio because no studio
is going to be announcing anything like this this week
Fincher Tarantino, Pitt
and probably we'll I think
you think margot robbie since do you think margot too because she survived sharon tate lived through this one so
does she be a part of this again the question to me is what is this a is it a prequel or is it a sequel is it
both yeah yeah right there's going to be cliff's backstory about the wife and stuff like that right
are we going to continue to follow cliff's adventures beyond the events of once upon a time in hollywood
and no matter what you know i mean obviously uh from uh from well
I guess the whole point, Sharon, Sharon Tate lives, right?
Right.
So she exists in the world.
So I think that you would see her.
Again, could just be a camera.
It could just be Brad Pitt going to the movies and seeing a new Sharon Tate movie,
a Sharon Tate movie that maybe she had already passed before it came out.
So like, yeah, maybe.
Well, it's also fascinating, too, because you look at where it was set, the once-bantime
to Hollywood set in, what, late 60s before you get into the 70s.
And we saw how it ended with them in the most.
movie what happens to cliff booth now going into the 70s why are we following him and how much of
the movie critic script is going to be massaged into this or because you had mentioned on the hot
mike i remember you mentioning that uh brad pit cliff booth was going to possibly be a part of this or was
going to maybe be the lead of this so you had like you said you'd been on this for quite some time
i think that's what this is i think this is like a version of the movie critic script i think he was writing
something called the movie critic and then down he
itself just being enamored with Cliff Booth and then it started to turn into a Cliff Booth movie
and then it was like, I don't know what I'm doing anymore.
Like this is the last movie.
But I, you know, it's still Tarantino and he's still a genius.
I mean, Netflix reportedly paid $20 million for this script.
That's insane.
Yeah.
It is insane.
But like I love it.
Like, yeah, yeah.
Should they spend $5 million on the next red notice?
Like, this is what you break out the checkbook.
for and Dan Lynn, who's relatively new
to running Netflix's film side, like,
it's a huge fucking get for him.
Yeah.
Also, doesn't have to do the IMAX thing.
And I was told
that right away. It was just like, he doesn't care.
Right. He doesn't care about the adjugal release,
wants the full creative control that Netflix
offers, and it won't be, you know,
maybe it'll get like a four wall sort of thing,
but it's not getting an XIMAX deal.
It's not getting the credit treatment.
Yeah. And I think that, you know, and you see these actors
who are coming in taking these things.
The idea of streaming and what it all means, I mean,
that stuff goes away.
You mean, Brad Pitt's doing F1 for Apple essentially,
and he did wolves for Apple as well.
And so there's there's, there's, there's,
precedence.
And with Fincher and the deal he has with Netflix.
So there's, this is a smart move by them overall to see the reaction,
what the reaction is going to be.
And you know, Netflix, as we said a couple weeks ago on the show, man,
they're the ones who are desperately trying to get something to win for best picture.
Is there a possibility that Fincher who's directed some incredible films,
directs a film here that is a sequel to a Tarantino film,
but maybe even surpasses that film and gets into contention for a best picture and possibly win?
So anything is possible at this point.
And I wonder, they must believe in it a lot.
You have to start shooting this quickly in July.
Like, I mean, literally two months from now.
I agree.
That surprise me because I did think that Fincher might do Squid Game,
the Squid Game series before this.
But, you know, that was another, listen.
Rodrigo went through Fincher's entire thing.
That's why I was like he had to have talked to David himself.
He's like,
he's basically like the Squid Game series has morphed into something that is not necessarily Squid Game America.
It's like maybe a parallel kind of show, almost like maybe what like the parasite series at HBO would have been.
Oh, yeah, right.
Not just like a continuation.
Anyways, I'm not sure what's going on with that, but I think it has to do is just the script's not ready.
Dennis Kelly is still writing.
He's not known as the fastest.
writer they're taking their time with that here's i mean a little update that i think has been overlooked in
my write-up because i was doing you know write-throughs yeah maybe everyone saw with the report but the
report completely looked completely different 15 minutes later pictures off the chinatown thing oh wow
so okay i haven't not get any pickup today on the internet but uh i believe that he is no longer
involved with the chinatown prequel wow okay shit all right that's going to be interesting to see a
what they do with that project,
if Fincher's off of it now.
And if it keeps going or not.
So, wow.
Yeah, so clearly they're focused on this.
So at least Fincher and Pitt are lined up.
It seems very clearly for this.
July as a start date,
we'll probably hear about DeCaprio and other things
and maybe getting a little more of an idea of the story
because that's what they did leading up to once in a while time in Hollywood.
They would announce the actor like Damien Lewis
and who they're playing,
Steve McQueen and things like that.
So hopefully we'll hear that.
And will it go into the 70s.
Who are we going to see?
I mean, Pacino's in play,
Hackman's in.
in play, Redford's in play. It might
be fascinating to see who plays these
characters as they get announced
here and what the story is going to be all about.
So anything more on this or shall we
move on, bud?
Maybe we can move on. Okay. Well, as
we move on, we're going to take a quick break
and hear from some sponsors for the Christian

All right.
We're back on the Christian Harloff show.
Here I am John Roker,
one of the co-hosts of the Hot Mike podcast.
My co-host sitting over there,
the In Snyder.
Jeff, do you feel like dropping the scoop now?
Or do you want to wait until we talk
through all the Warner Brothers stuff?
What's your feeling?
Let's do it right now.
Boom.
All right.
Let's go.
What do you got?
I got this tip from
someone I like to call
toxic avenger.
Hey, hey.
I'll wear this hat
during this little thing.
But okay, so tomorrow
is the big Disney Fox presentation.
Yes.
And I know that
Predator Badlands
is going to be a big part
of that presentation, I think.
That's the Dan Tractenberg movie
with El Fanny.
But if you'll recall,
there's actually a second
Predator movie
that is going to be
announced or teased tomorrow
I believe. I don't know
if we'll get the first, I think we're probably going to get
the first trailer, but certainly the title
of it. That is the animated
predator movie, right?
Supposedly, this involves
the predator, like, working
their way through three
different kinds of warriors.
Like, I'll bring up, Johnny,
there's a report, I think it's on I-09 or Gizmodo.
Okay.
Jermaine about it. Maybe bring that up. But,
I can tell you what the title of this movie is,
which has not been revealed.
So the title of the animated predator movie,
what I believe is predator, killer of killers.
Whoa!
I like that title.
Animated predator is titled Predator, Killer of Killers.
Interesting.
Okay.
Injured.
But we've seen this happen.
Like John Wick announced an animated film.
as well. So what do you take? Is this kind of a new
angle that they're taking on these franchises to keep them going?
Yes. I mean, it's cheap to produce. It's so much cheaper to get Keanu to
give Keanu in the sound booths for an hour. It doesn't
as much stress on his body. And yeah, it keeps the IP going and
it allows them to fill in holes in the mythology. Now, you know,
John Wick may be overdoing the whole John Wick story.
Yeah.
but for Predator like I actually think this could be pretty cool this is an interesting
outside the box idea and if you like I mean I think I watched the first episode of the Terminator
anime which which was neat but I didn't finish it probably because they're just doing like a movie
I could sit through an anime movie of Terminator or in this case Predator so I like it.
Yeah I like it too I think it's a smart move and as we said keeps the brand going and people
People are interested in that kind of thing.
And so who knows how much of it is canon, too,
or introduce stuff that will be canon live action.
Could be interesting with the Explorations.
Killer of Killers.
I like that.
That's good.
All right.
Well, let's move on to this Warner Brothers stuff, man.
Let's do it.
Let's get into this Warner Brothers stuff.
There's a lot to get into with this Warner Brothers stuff.
I will read everything we've got here from Dark Horizons.
Warner Brothers Pictures held at CinemaCon presentation tonight with a lot of footage shown
and none of it going online.
Everything kept for the room.
Oh, so you think.
One big bit of news is the announcement of the development of new theatrical animated movies based on classic animated properties, the Flintstones, Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes.
What a surprise.
Here's a breakdown of what was screened to the room.
Superman, director James Gunn, much of the cast were there to show off an extended sneak peek that carries on from the teaser trailer moment at which a fallen Superman asks crypto to take him home.
The lively pooch drags him to the fortress of solitude where robots repair him with a little bit of help from the sun.
Gunn says the project is still in the quote throws a post-production and says his approach to crypto was.
was, quote, oh my God, what if my dog had superpowers?
I'd be effed. Star David Corenswed said,
it's a great honor to play a role that exists so clearly in the public consciousness.
Nicholas Holter plays Lex, says of Corn Sweat filming,
I felt like I was witnessing the magic of cinema in first person in real time.
Warner's also finally confirmed that extended sneak peek of the film were premiere
in front of IMAX copies of the movie this weekend with a Minecraft movie.
I guess I have to go to the IMAX version.
Mortal Kombat 2 was also previewed here,
a Cisor Wheel of Footage from the sequel to the 2021 game to film adaptation with
Carl Urban revealed to be spouting the line.
I am Johnny F in Cage at one point.
Scorpin was seen saying his signature line,
get over here.
Weapons was also screened by Zach Gregory here,
his new film, which will be set in a town
where an entire classroom of children disappear
one night without a trace,
and the town reacts with understandable shock and anger.
Director Joseph Kaczynski, producer Jerry Brockheimer,
appeared to present 10 minutes of footage from F1,
the Brad Pitt-led racing drama,
which appeared to be from the films,
opening sequence.
Brockheimer says,
quote,
we believe this is going
to be the cinematic experience
of the summer.
The bride was on,
the much maligned bride
was also previewed here,
Jeff, with filmmaker
Maggie Gillen Hall
and Jesse Buckley,
who is the star there
appearing at the panel as well.
Footage was screamed,
confirmed confirming it
is set in 1930,
Chicago and sees the two monsters
journeying through wild landscapes
and committing various crimes.
The story follows a lonesome
Frankenstein monster
and lists the help of Dr.
Euphronius to create a companion
for himself from the remains of a murdered woman.
Of course, Christian Bell Penelvie Cruz,
and net-banding John Mangaro, Julian Hoff,
co-starred with Jake Gillen Hall and Peter Saras Guard,
appearing Final Destination Bloodlines the first 20 minutes.
Oh my God, I'm so mad.
The first 20 minutes from the new film was screened,
the clip arriving in the wake of the recent trailer, right?
They made it the second-most-watched trailer for a horror movie after it.
We see a peanut allergic guy attempting to retrieve a peanut butter cup.
I'm going to leave it at that because those are some spoilers.
Others, there was brief footage from the dynamic duo that was shown
and the animated title show The Batman will be on action
in what's dubbed a, quote, unique puppetry animation style.
Also Bill Hader introduced unfinished trailer for the animation,
the Cat in the Hat film that they're doing,
and a scene from Paul Thomas Anderson's one battle after another,
speaking of DeCaprio was shown,
and The Conjuring Last Rights was confirmed as the final film of that franchise.
So, Jeff, what happened at this thing?
What were your reactions to it all?
The Superman stuff, the final destination stuff,
all the things that you got to see,
what stood out to you, what caught your,
I mean,
Final Destination is going to be a huge hit.
Yeah, the 20 minutes were good.
I mean, I didn't watch all 20 minutes
because I was like trying to avoid, you know,
like I don't like watching chunks of movies.
Right.
So I was just writing through Tarantino at that time,
but like I couldn't avoid it.
Like I'm a gore hound.
And there's stuff I'm watching in this movie
where I'm just like, wait, what?
And I couldn't avert my eyes.
it was gnarly and i think and everybody ate it up and i think it's going to fucking crush this may
nice those guys are starting to get offers stein and lapovsky they you know they're being
sought for pretty big IP right nice okay um we keep an eye on those guys i think that that's a
uh going to be new lines big hit um although i also you know new lines we kind of carried it like
you know weapons that looked amazing weapons has some frightening
imagery. And I know that Craigor had said that
the teaser that we saw was sort of especially
made for Cinemicon and all that.
But I think that one's going to really
surprise people in August if they can get people
to turn out to like an original horror movie.
That could be this year's long legs.
Wow. Okay. I mean,
that was one you've been watching for and had
your finger on for quite some time
this whole thing. So, you know, now it's
finally has footage. Now it's
you know, on the press. I can finally tell
you guys what it's about now because
this is obviously part of the teaser it's about a first grade class and julia garner is the teacher
right and one night in the middle of the night kids are all over town sleeping in their beds at
at 217 in the morning they wake up they walk out the front door and they disappear whoa okay
and so everyone's like where the fuck are our kids right why is just the kids in this woman's class
and i won't say anything more than that but it's like it's an it's an it's an it's an
ensemble piece.
Right.
And the script was really good.
And, you know, it has some twists and turns like Barbarian did.
Wow.
Okay.
All right.
Well, what about the Superman stuff?
What stood out to you?
What grabbed your attention?
Did you like the footage that they showed?
Did you like the comments that they were made?
Or was this just a glorified commercial that didn't really do much to get you excited for
a past what you've already seen?
I mean, a lot of the footage is what we already saw.
You know, they're definitely keeping.
certain things and elements under wraps, which limits what they can do.
And you're still not seeing Superman interact with Lois Lane or Lex Luther.
Right?
I mean, it's about him and his dog, which here's the thing.
Obviously, there are people in that audience that ate it up.
Of course.
I mean, literally, there was an awe.
Aw.
A doggy.
Look at a dog.
I have to say, I'm just being honest, because I passed along everyone else's fucking reactions,
good, bad, ugly over the last few weeks.
Now I've seen it with my own eyes,
and I understand them so much better.
Because that sequence where, you know,
that's in the teaser with crypto,
you know, he's saying home, crypto, home.
Yeah, yeah.
Get me home.
That works in the teaser.
Yeah.
The extended version of that,
I kind of couldn't stand.
The dog is just this unruly,
unbe, poorly behaved dog,
and it's just like jumping all over him.
Yeah.
Right?
It's so happy to see him.
anybody's like injured so it's like jumping on me he's like oh and it's played for it's played for a laugh
yeah yeah the thing the whole i get the fucking tone issues now where it's like is this too jokey is
are we going too far in an effort to have it have heart um even like he gets to the fordress
solitude and he's talking to like the superman robots or whatever and you know he's being he's just
always kind and always nice which is a little boring by the way for a hero um
Yeah, yeah.
And it's like, oh, like, you don't even have to be nice to it.
Like, we don't care.
Like, we have no feelings.
We're robots.
Like, ha ha, ha, ha.
It's just the kind of humor that doesn't work for.
Right.
Right.
So I understand the feeling, like, Americans love their pets, you know?
I understand chasing after that.
But, like, that's all the cell has been the last few months.
It's been crypto at the Super Bowl, crypto at Comic-Con.
Crypto, Crypto, Crypto, Crypto.
Where does the rest of this fucking movie?
What else do you have besides this dog?
So I gave the Superman footage the lowest grade of any...
Wow.
It was a B, and even the presentation went on forever.
Went on forever.
Okay?
I would like write something 15, 20 minutes.
Look up.
It's still going on.
These people are still talking about these characters.
Like not everyone in the crowd hasn't done this three times in the past.
decade. Like, we know who fucking these characters are. You don't need to explain how much they
meant to us in an effort to, you know, whatever. Like, come up. And, you know, like, one text
I got from a producer after a word was like, like, that Superman footage was a snooze. And they,
that Superman guy that they got corn sweat needs some media training. Wow. He was just vanilla and
boring. Like, at least Nick Holtz, granted, this is his first big thing, right? I like. Like,
There are people who just pop immediately.
Nick Holt has been doing this since he was a kid.
Brosnahan, you know, is a charming personality.
Yeah.
I didn't see it.
Okay.
Do you mean in the footage and on stage?
No, I mean, in person.
I'm not saying he looks like a good Superman.
Okay.
He does.
Okay.
I'm not saying anything about a Superman performance.
I think he'll be good.
Yeah.
On stage, I just didn't feel this guy's like,
major movie star is there a brandon ralph energy to him where brandon wasn't quite like when he
first became sugeman 2005 it wasn't around being you know you're being the embodiment of kindness
and goodness yeah i don't know is that interesting to people again and i and i appreciate
what gun is going after here and chasing that feeling and and like james said i think audiences are
ready to believe in superman again but this is a country that elected lex luther
Yeah, it's a fair point.
So I don't know how if the country is really looking to sing kumbaya
and embrace kindness and goodness.
If they're looking to have Lex rule the world.
Well, I don't know.
How did he come off?
Did you get footage without Superman?
Is there footage of Lex,
footage of Lois Lane, Jimmy Olson, anything in there?
Or was it all crypto and Superman?
Again, I was working on some of the Tarantino.
I watched it. Obviously, when Superman came on, I was like, okay, Jeff, you have to pay attention.
I don't recall any of that stuff.
It was, you know, they're not getting into like Mr. Terrific or any of that stuff.
Any of the fantastical, like big villains, firebreeding dragons and weird purple, I don't
like, I don't fucking know what's going on, man.
Interesting.
Okay.
That's what you remember.
That is the takeaway from the footage is crypto.
And to me, that's not a great sign.
Okay.
that's fair that's fair look some of you were coming after jeff i see but that's jeff's opinion
respect to what well they were saying like you know oh negative nancy but look jeff was in the room
you guys weren't jeff's delivering his opinion and his thoughts on this there are other people
who came out of that room are glowing about that footage so we're allowed to have all these
different opinions about a piece of footage that none of us who are commenting we're in the
effing room for so you know create space for other stuff what about f1 man what about those 10
minutes of F1. Does that look like it's going to be a no okay talk to me didn't didn't
watch it that was one word like they said like we are showing the first 10 minutes of the movie and
I put in my headphones listen to music and type Jamie like you don't want to see footage yeah
Jamie Williams is here with me and for the insider which is exciting that we got a second
prudential at cinema con and so he he watched the footage and he was like oh yeah this is
steak and potato meat meat potato is like this is going to be a hit you know him playing a blue collar
hero.
Yeah, I've heard great things internally about Eppelin.
They're very confident in that.
Nice.
All right.
Now, what about the bride?
Did you see any of that footage?
I thought the bride looked super cool.
Like, again, my fucking money.
You want to burn $90, $100 million on it?
Be my guess.
You know, I would not have done that as an executive, having seen the lost daughter,
which costs $5 million at Netflix.
But budget aside, I think.
kind of looks super cool. Okay. All right. In a way, it is what I imagine Joker 2 would be.
And obviously we get that, the vision that I had in my head. But yeah, this looks like the Joker
sequel we all wanted in a way. Interesting. Very artistically shot. I do, I thought it was very cool,
the visuals to make, to Maggie's credit. And yeah, Jesse Buckley and Bail, like, it's pretty
violent. Like, there's a scene with like, bail, like, bashing somebody's head.
in. So it's, it's like almost, I don't know, like a little NBK vibe.
Hmm, interesting. Okay. All right. Now what about anything on Final Destination?
You said to 20 minutes, you skip the kills. Anything else? Do you have the sense that this is a good
installment and this will bring the franchise back into prominence?
I like the premise, too, where it's like, you know, you were supposed to die and you didn't.
and now death is mad that you exist and mad that your whole bloodline exists.
Right.
And all these generations.
Here's one thing I will semi-spoil.
It's not really a spoiler, obviously, but remember the teaser?
Yeah.
The test, the guy, too shit, right?
Yeah.
And then he lands in the fire?
Yes.
That guy lives.
Oh, ho!
Oh.
We saw his death scene, which I won't spoil.
But I'm like, you can't have the guy from the teaser or there?
I don't know.
Wait, so apparently he survives that horrific ordeal with the fire.
I guess.
I don't know.
Well, maybe that scene you saw us from earlier in the movie and then he dies.
No, I saw his death scene.
Oh, oh, oh.
Another death scene.
So it's like, does he die twice in the movie?
You must be an important character in the film.
If he escapes death in the movie where he's supposed to die
until he does die.
So, all right, fascinating stuff.
I don't know, but I was like, this is the same actor.
So, yeah, it's making.
Anything on the cat in the hat?
Anything about the one battle after another?
Anything that stood out to you on that that you enjoyed?
And I think one battle after another looks fucking really good.
But I can also see where it's just like,
I don't think this is going to make $300 million.
It's like the way to need it to.
I mean, again, if you cost 140, then you've got marketing costs on
up, but let's say they even keep the marketing down.
Yeah, yeah.
Say 40 or 50 million.
You have to gross over 350 million dollars.
Yeah, that's true.
So I don't see that happening.
It was funny.
Yeah, the extended footage that we saw, but yeah.
Okay.
Cat and that's going to be a hit.
I wouldn't be surprised if they moved up, Cat in the Hat,
just because Warner Brothers doesn't have anything after Mortal Kombat 2 in October.
They have no movies in November, December.
So don't be surprised if something moves up.
Could be Wuthering Heights, which they also didn't mention really.
The cat in the hat could be an interesting Christmas play.
I don't know if everybody just wants to steer clear of Avatar.
Yeah.
Oh, that's a good point.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, that's the Warner Brothers stuff.
Let's move on to Lionsgate.
Before we have to get to these questions, let's talk about Lionsgate.
Start sending in your super chats.
We're at 20 right now.
Send in your love here for Jeff Snyder and his experiences here.
at cinema con you're getting a you're getting a eyewitness reaction to all the stuff that has been
shown at cinema con here so far lionsgate held at cinema con presentations uh this morning in las vegas
yesterday morning in las vegas and with it came some updates they went beyond the various bits of
news about the john wick franchise we saw a now you see me three a third film in the magician
heist movie franchises undergoing a title change and will now be called now you see me now you don't
oh my god when it opens in cinemas on november 14th the film uh the the studio conference
that a fourth entry in the franchise is apparently in the works.
I've not seen any of these movies.
So four of them? Jesus.
The film will bring back Jesse Eisenberg, Woody, Harrison, Dave Franco, Ile Fisher, Morgan Freeman,
and Justice Smith, Dominic, Sess, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamine Pike will be joining them.
Michael, one key surprise is the lack of anything.
I want to hear what Jeff has to say about this.
The lack of anything related to Antoine Foucault's Michael, which is the Michael Jackson biopic.
The film, the title was barely mentioned.
The film showed no publicity material, and that marks a contract.
from last year when the first look at the footage was shown while the film was still in production.
Reports emerged earlier this year indicating third act, the movie may have had some legal issues around it.
The project is currently scheduled hit cinemas in October 3rd, but many of the industry seems pretty sure it will be delayed to 2026,
which you talked about in your newsletter, your most recent newsletter, Jeff.
Hunger Games sunrise on the reaping.
The official video showing off the logo for the new prequel, Hunger Games was released and has since gone online.
In addition, it was announced that acclaimed scribe, Billy Ray, from Captain Phillips and Shattered Glass,
one of my favorite films is writing the script.
The new film is set 24 years before the events of the original follows
the younger version of Woody Harrelson's Hamich Aberdehy, who won the 50th 100 games.
The only District 12 Victor until Catnice Everdeen.
No casting is set for the film.
Also, The Long Walk was previewed.
A September 12th release date has been set for the film adaptation of Stephen King's
The Long Walk.
I saw a lot of people talking about this online with Mark Hamill starring as the film's villain
and Francis Lawrence directing Judy Greer Cooper Hoffman, David Johnson,
and Charlotte Plummer, Ben Wang, Garrett, wearing Roman Griffin Davis,
and Joshua Ojit co-star.
The story follows 100 teenage boys to embark on an annual walking competition.
They have to maintain a speed above four miles per hour,
slowdown and get a warning slowdown three times at an hour,
and get shot with the winner being the last one walking.
So this is battle royale with walking, basically.
All right, so, Jeff, your thoughts on the Lionsgate panel,
what stood out to you, would impress you?
What were your thoughts coming out of it?
I thought it was a pretty good panel, right?
Considering the stuff that Lionsgate has to work with,
It was just a lot of John Wick.
It's a lot of John Wick.
I mean, this is their foundational pillar, man.
You're going all in on Wick.
So, yeah, I mean, here's the other thing with ballerina.
This because, obviously, like, that's what they led with.
Right.
Yes.
Anadamus is not the Anadarmus of two years ago.
That's a problem.
What do you mean by that?
Anadarmus was the hot young thing.
two years ago or, you know, whatever.
And I think that this movie's been sitting on a shelf too long in post.
They've spent too long trying to fix it.
She's just not the draw that maybe she would have been, you know, 18 months ago or even a year ago.
Right.
She's lost some momentum in Kulov.
And the other thing is I think that people are just sick of seeing a hundred pound women kicking the ass of 200 pound guys.
Okay.
think there's a little bit of that. And it's not to say that I'm against female action heroes.
Motherfucking Alan Ripley is a badass. I can believe Scrooever kicking ass. I can believe
Uma Thurman or Pam Greer. I can't believe these 100 pound girls anymore that just can
flip around and beat the shit out of guys. I'm just a little tired of that whole subgenre.
I think there's some UFC fighters who are around 100 pounds who want to have a conversation
with you some female UFC.
I should eat the shit out of me.
But it's just like...
Yeah, I hear you.
But they're not actresses, right?
That's the difference.
They don't radiate that.
You're saying it's not believable to see Anna radiating that ability overall.
It's that.
It's almost like they don't trust her to have her own movie because they got to bring
back John Wick.
They got to have John Hick in here.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I just...
Yeah, it seems a little risky.
again, I don't know what they've spent on it, but I'm sure they've spent too much.
Oh, yeah.
If they had a reshoot, basically, the whole film, they've essentially spent too much.
And I think you're right.
It's not an accident that they're bringing, they brought John Wick, they brought Keanu Reeves to be a bigger part of the movie,
because I don't think he was that big of a part of the movie initially.
And now these reshoots made him a bigger part of the film.
What do you think about the Donnie-N spin-off?
Does that make sense to you?
No.
Okay.
Who cares?
This is a supporting character in a franchise.
He doesn't need his own movie.
It's like giving Mac from speed his own movie.
The Adventures of Mac.
What are we doing here?
No, I don't really see it.
Again, it depends what the budget is.
Will Keanu Reeves pop up in the fucking Kane movie, too?
I would imagine so, since they're such good friends.
Yeah.
I just.
It's a lot.
Okay.
Well, what else?
Anything else on the,
are you a now you see me three person?
No.
What about,
I like the now you see me movies,
but like we're announcing,
I get that these have to be like,
listen,
I had a breakfast this morning.
Like I said,
we talked about this.
This is all just like a game, right?
It's a game between studios and theater owners
and the press.
Why are we announcing a fourth,
now you see me movie until we see how this one
does. Right, right, right.
Is there a fan base
that's that strong for it? Yeah, yeah, exactly.
It's just supposed to be a sign of
confidence, right? It's like,
you know, we think we've got the goods, and so we're
making another one, whether they've got the goods or not.
They just have to pretend like they do.
Oh, I got you. And it's no
different than like yesterday, a little
slip of the tongue with James Gunn being like,
I think he said,
he's just in like autopilot mode, so he thought he was
at Comic-Con. He's like, I love
You hear at Comic-Con with everybody and everyone's like, this is Cinemicon, bro.
He's like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cinema is way, way, way better than Comic-Con.
He's going to say Comic-Con is way, way, way, way better than CinemaCon
if he's in front of that audience.
I think James Gunn has just become one of these Hollywood types
who's going to, you know, tell you what you want to hear and, you know, whatever.
Right, right, right.
The stuff that excited me from Lionscape was the long walk, which is...
Yeah, a lot of people talking about this.
Talk about that, yeah.
Dude, that's...
That's hardcore.
I mean, it's just, you know, you take a bunch of young guys.
You say you got to walk three miles per hour.
There's no finish line.
Last one standing gets to live.
Yeah.
You get injured.
You know, you're dragging your foot along.
I mean, there was some really cool imagery.
And the idea of Mark Hamill as the villain, I thought was great.
I mean, I thought he looked really cool.
He, to me, you reminded me, if you've ever seen the Stanford prison experiment with
Michael Amaranth, those aviator shades, just imagine growing up to be Mark Hamel.
I really like that Stephen King thing,
and that's from Francis Lawrence,
who's doing the next Hunger Games.
And then Housemaid was like their big thing.
Okay.
That's the Sydney, Sweeney, Amanda Seafreed,
Brands, Glouinor thing based on the huge book trilogy.
And that's their Christmas Day release this year.
Right.
And I think that's going to work.
That was a really effective trailer.
Looks creepy as fuck.
It looked big, too.
Yeah.
I mean, shout out to Sydney.
EPing that one as well. So this is
this is a young woman who is taking control
of her career very clearly from the beginning
following that Margot Robbie blueprint
and Reese Witherspoon
blueprint blueprint as well.
But what about the Michael Jackson
stuff, man? Are you surprised that there wasn't
any footage? Are you surprised that it was barely
mentioned? And I think you wrote
in a newsletter. This one is going to get pushed to
2026. What are your thoughts on this?
I mean, yes,
there's still, there's a lot going on with Michael.
I wrote in January that this movie might be split into two.
I didn't know if that was like because they have a four-hour cut or because they're trying to get this movie out this fall.
It's not all done.
So it's like, let's just really saddened.
Obviously, you know, you've read all about the third act problems, like the legal problems where they filmed the whole third act.
And then they were like, wait a second, we can't even tell this story because we signed an agreement in the early 90s that the lawyers completely missed.
Right.
Um, so, you know, I heard all kinds of rumors this week.
Uh, the movie's being shelved.
No, it's not.
They're going to cut a concert movie out of it, you know.
Whoa.
You know, we'll see.
But the, the two part thing, I think it makes sense, given that it's lines gate.
They've done it before, right, with one of the Hunger Games books.
Yes.
Yes.
Um, but it spoke volumes.
It spoke volumes that they didn't mention it yesterday.
And you have to.
Like if the movie's actually coming out in October, John,
yeah,
start selling it now.
Of course,
of course.
Maybe the movie is finished by October,
but you can't,
you know,
you need to,
months and months of selling.
Like,
this is a billion dollar movie.
You're not trying to rush that out.
So that's why I ran the story this morning.
I'm just like,
conceivably,
there's no fucking way that this movie makes it stick.
Especially if you're talking that nonsense that it made,
that it's going to be a,
could make $3 billion,
right?
And so it's like,
you've got this.
Yeah,
exactly.
But it could be a billion, this is a big deal for Lionsgate.
Yeah, you can't fuck around.
Just wait until everything's good to go and release it the right way.
Like, don't rush it.
Yeah, that's smart.
Anything else?
So what about CinemaCon overall up to this point?
Obviously, you and I are going to have a much more bigger overall conversation about
on the hot mic on Friday about your experience of CinemaCon.
But because we've got still three or four more panels to come that we're going to cover on Friday.
What are your thoughts so far at the cinema con just feel like,
you know, is this a positive one or does this feel a little like kind of in the middle right now?
What are your thoughts?
I mean, it's somewhere in the middle.
Like, so here's the thing.
Warner Brothers really kept the focus on this year, right?
They didn't talk about Dune.
They didn't talk about that David Robert Mitchell movie with Dan Hathaway and you and
McGregor.
They didn't talk about Withering Heights.
They really kind of kept the focus on this year, probably because Mike and Pam know they're gone there.
And I'm going to be around to release those fucking movies, right?
Right.
The problem is that they're just like, I need news.
I need news in my presentations.
Lionsgate did a good job with the news.
Sony ended with the Beatles, right?
That is a fucking, that's a moment.
That's a moment.
And we can save the Sony stuff if you want on Friday.
Because we've done a lot on Cinemicon already.
But like, those are the things that tell me, is this a good week?
And so hopefully we'll get more of those.
I mean, obviously Paramount has a relationship with Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible coming.
Universal's panel is always, that's going to be a big one this afternoon.
They've, it's Spielberg, but Daniels, Nolan.
They have so many big filmmakers.
So it's hard to say.
Right now, it's like a BB plus for me.
Okay.
All right.
Still not bad.
B, B, B, plus, you're still a good grade.
That's not the best grade.
I think the stuff that I saw for sure.
Yeah, yeah.
All right, well, there you go.
That's our cinema con recap.
Yeah, before we get into questions, though, Jeff, I want to make sure we promote all our stuff.
There's over 11,100 people watching us right now.
Please let people know where they some, can subscribe to hear your takes on everything and your coverage daily from cinema con this week.
The ensnider.com.
Thank you guys so much.
Again, I really, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
I put myself on a limb, right?
And just had faith that people would keep me afloat.
and you have.
You've answered the call,
and I've tried to answer it for you,
so thank you.
Yeah, there you go.
And of course,
Jeff and I host the hot mic
on the Outlaw Nation channel
at YouTube.com slash John Roka says.
We do it every Thursday at 4 p.m. PT,
but of course, this week will be on Friday.
So look for us on our social media,
him at the Insider,
me at the Roka says,
for our announcement of what time we're going to do the show on Friday.
We'll have a full-on cinema con recap on everything and talk about it.
It might be a supersized show.
but just look for that coming up on Friday.
And of course, subscribe to the outloadation.
Subscribe to this channel as well,
leave your comments down below and hit the like button as well on this channel.
All right, let's move on to these questions, Jeff.
Let's get through them because I know we only have limited time with you.
So Max Law says, when does Jeff W.
When does Jeff think WB will start promoting Zach Craigers weapons?
How was the teaser?
I think you talked about the teaser.
So, Jeff, when do you think they'll start promoting?
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
I've got a weird email from Gmail.
Okay, the weapons thing.
Sorry. When do I think they'll start promoting it very soon?
I mean, it comes out in August.
So probably next week.
Perfect. All right.
Ewalk says, going to miss Val.
He was always excellent, even in his lesser no roles like Thunderheart Spartan and the voice of Moses in the Prince of Egypt.
One of my favorite films from him as well, Prince of Egypt.
Yeah, absolutely.
Go pal says.
Oh, go ahead.
Romance, too.
And no one's really mentioned the Elvis and True Romance turn.
Right, right.
Is that for good reason?
No, I just think he's fuzzy in the window, in the mirror.
You don't really see a full Elvis.
It's him, but it is.
Exactly.
GoPow says, I'm probably stuck on a work thing all afternoon, but here's some support.
Thank you, go, pal.
Thank you.
Jim 1 says, odds we get any bond news from Amazon at CinemaCon.
Jeff, do you think that's possible?
I think we will.
I mean, to me, Jamie hit the nail in the head where it's like, if they don't show
007 and then 007 morphs into 2027, that's a missed offer.
even if you don't make the date, you just say,
we have a, where this is coming.
Yeah, fair point.
Get people excited.
Simon section, R.P. Valcommer,
in the Vowd documentary, Valcimer,
describes himself as an intelligent being with the soul of a clown.
He passed away yesterday on April 1st.
So I guess Mark Twain put a word in God's ear.
All great points, Simon.
Nice, yeah, that's a really nice sentiment, Simon.
Absolutely.
RJ McGrady says both Chris Gore and Robert Meyer,
Burnett's sources say Superman is great fingers crossed.
I trust both their sources.
as they've not been wrong often.
Yeah, but it's all opinion, isn't it?
It's all subjective.
So yes, their sources could love it.
R&B sources.
Chris's sources can love it.
Doesn't mean you're going to love it.
Doesn't mean Jeff has to love it.
Doesn't mean all the people are going to love it.
So because there's just as many sources telling you that it's a bit kind of in the middle.
So, yeah.
I just love this phenomenon where people need to have like their taste reassured.
Like they're not sure.
I mean, I need someone to tell me this movie is great.
What do you care?
You're going to see it in.
July on your own, right? So what do you care what other people think? Yeah,
greater shitty. You're still going to see it. Is it to set your level of expectation?
Like, I just don't understand. Yeah, maybe. Simon Sexious, I'm not sure if John is a Tombstone fan.
I am not. But can he denied that Val was robbed of a supporting actor, if not winning it
for his portrayal of Doc Holiday? Was it because he mispronounced Hucklebearer for Huckleberry?
Look, I'm not a Tombstone fan because I think that's McDonald's Western. That's like a fast food
Western. I think Dana
Delaney is horribly miscast and
there's some cheesy moments with Kurt Russell.
Why? Why?
I mean, it's ridiculous. But
Val Kilmer is the saving grace of that movie
and the reason to watch that movie.
He's incredible. And yeah, he should have been
nominated. Jeff, do you think he should have been nominated for that
for his Doc Holiday? I
I mean, I'm not a huge
tombstone guy either. I don't know who
he would have been up against. I'm going to say no.
Well, it should have been nominated is all I'm asking.
I don't think he should have won, but should have been nominated.
I would say yes.
All right.
Corn Emperor says the most dress-up I've ever seen the Insnyder.
Yeah, I'd say, well, you know, he's, he's working.
He's working at an event there, but.
Simon section, Snyda, a word in your ear.
Your best Roxy has seen it, but John and Christian have not.
Righteous Gem's last episode showed way too much Walter and his Goggins, water skiing.
What the F.
Roxy's reply was balls.
I just want to eat my hot dog.
Hello.
I don't watch the show.
So, Jeff, what do you, have you seen this?
your thoughts on righteous man
dude he's having a moment with
white lotus righteous gemstone's
good good season not my favorite i think i preferred
last season but it has a solid finale
i just saw the clip online with jock goodman
with the kids walking in on him doing a 69
dean lewis says jeff how's
Vanessa have you had your egg whites and asparagus
today seriously no hot mic is the best and this is a nice
bonus for the week
what is that a i think it's a daredevil
reference i think so yeah oh is my looking like uh king yeah kingpin yeah because you've got
yeah i was i was like shit i don't know any venessa um thank you dean appreciate it i need
i need to watch this week's episode i haven't dude i haven't i've had i've slept seven hours
this week oh yeah uh i have not had a chance to watch daredevil yet yeah i remember the week i went
you're you're you're all over the place man mike joy says jeff got anything to say for the haters watching
Well, in the spirit of Superman, I love you guys.
Chris Daniel, hot mic for life.
That's right.
Jeff, will there be a new Mission Impossible trailer tomorrow?
Will you see at least 20 minutes of the movie at CinemaCon?
Yeah, what do you expect to see tomorrow?
Real quick, Jeff, on the Mission Impossible.
We'll get a new trailer, maybe setting up the threat a little bit better,
you know, the villain, whatever's going on there.
Oh, God, it would be tough to turn down the chance to watch 20 minutes of the movie.
but I don't think I will.
I know that's why I'm here,
but it's like if you're going to show 20 minutes,
just show the whole thing,
because then I'm going to have to sit in your fucking screening room,
watching the movie,
and just being bored for the first 20 minutes
because I've already seen it.
All right, fair point.
Tom Hanks says,
following the Kool-Aid movie in the studio,
is the cash grab like Minecraft,
a bad thing if your target is kids?
What makes something a cash grab bad?
What makes something a cash grab or bad?
Good or bad, I guess.
I mean, Hollywood is just another term for cash grab.
Like, that is the point of the town.
What do you mean?
If we're not grabbing cash, what are we doing?
No one's making your movie if you're not trying to grab cash.
Minecraft, it's a movie for kids.
I think kids are going to really like it.
I think I know a lot of kids who are really excited about it.
Yeah, I don't equate Minecraft like the Kool-Aid movie,
which is born out of a certain cynicism on that show.
Yeah, I'll be watching Minecraft and IMAX tomorrow.
But man, it's going to be a rough watch.
Bobby Jackson, next time I watch Top Gun Maverick,
the Ice Man scene will hit different.
Yeah, that's very true, Bobby.
Good to see you, brother, man.
Jeff, what's been your favorite thing you've seen at Comic Con so far,
or CinemaCon so far?
Sorry, James Gunslet there.
What's your favorite thing so far, Jeff?
Can you say?
I mean, I think weapons looks really,
I think weapons is the one I'm going to get behind.
How much footage did they show?
Did they show a lot of footage?
It was like a minute long teaser, maybe 90 seconds.
Okay.
But it was very effective.
Okay.
Kevin Frazier, Roka.
Much love, brother.
Same thing to you, Kevin.
Thanks for stopping in, brother.
Ewalk, what are the odds that the next bond will be one of the following four men?
Theo James, Jack Loudon, Renee Jean-Page, Joshua O'Connor, who has the edge?
I feel like it's none of them.
Do you think there'll be any of these four?
I think it's possible.
I don't think it's going to be reg a John Page,
but I think one of the other three could be in the mix.
I would love it if it's Josh O'Connor.
Such an unusual choice to be interesting.
Simon's section, part one.
Jeff, are any of you willing to bet Robert Meyer Burnett on his $500
and Superman will make a billion dollars?
I'm not.
If he does win, what hot toy do you think he should invest in?
Do you think it'll make a billion?
just a just on our own after what you saw you don't anticipate it'll make a billion
I don't know man that's tough you know what Simon I'll let me do a little box office research
yeah I might make that bad with him I mean no Superman movie has grossed a billion dollars
yeah none I don't even know any that have gotten close um I don't know if like the fact
this is the birth of a new DCU is going to get people
people to theaters.
It's too early to say, but come back to me on that one because I might make that
that.
Yeah, I would be surprised if it crosses a billion.
Although we are in the time now where a billion dollars is not necessarily out of the
realm of possibility when it comes to a superhero or franchise film, right?
So it is possible.
I mean, even Mufasa got to 700-something million worldwide.
So is Superman?
I think if the review is.
come out, it's divisive, it's not going to smell a billion dollars. But if the reviews come out and it's like
80 to 90% great and 10% kind of in the middle, then there is a strong possibility you could get to that
billion. We'll see. But there's a lot of competition. You got Fantastic Four. You got Jurassic World.
There's a lot of competition. Simon section. Or are both of you like Robert already invested in hot skin?
As for myself, I have a damp pillow and memories pre-COVID when I could lift Mjolnier. I don't know what hot skin is.
so I don't do toys.
No offense to Rob.
Say it again?
That was my nickname in high school.
Hot Skin.
Okay.
Dancing Dog 60.
Lex didn't fare too well in Wisconsin last night.
No, he didn't.
You're right about that.
I wish I could waste $21 million.
Alex says between Avatar 2, Wicked 2, Zootopia 2,
and five nights at Freddy's 2, November slash December is pretty packed.
So I think you're right about WB being nervous.
Jeff.
Well, just to put a movie out then.
I mean, yeah, I mean, there's tent pulls throughout the year.
Yeah.
If you have your own tent pole, you don't need to worry about it.
I don't think I'd put Zootopia at Five Nights at Freddy's at the Avatar Wicked level,
but I get the point that Alex is going to be pretty big.
I mean, not Freddy's isn't going to, you know, come close to those grosses.
But in terms of a profit, it might be at a similar ballpark.
Fair point.
Ewalk says if Zelda is out on March 26, 2027,
when might we start hearing some casting news?
I'm guessing it will have a lengthy effects-heavy post-production schedule.
So filming can't be too far away, right, Jeff?
No, it can't.
Yeah.
You're hearing stuff, aren't you?
I think Zelda will be, you know, probably this summer,
and obviously we're going to get some announcements about I just had it,
and I brain farted Hunger Games.
Right, right, right.
Wizzolante
DC seems like a lost cause
So much confusion says
Slash lack of info in majors DC characters
Like Wonder Woman or Batman
And skipping ComicCon 2
No vision yet
Definitely taking a little bit longer than expected
We'll see
But I'm with you where it's like
How are we focusing on Sergeant Rock and Clayface
When you don't have Wonder Woman nailed down
And Batman seems to be a huge fucking question mark
Yeah
It's weird too because I mean
There's so many
spoilers that were released this week
on that Superman movie, Jeff. People just don't
care. They're just releasing entire plot
points, entire sections. This is what happens
again, people have no
scruples. But
this is what happens when you test.
Who, like
what? Are you vetting to
people who are coming to your tests?
Yeah. There's no betting. It's
some outside company. And yeah, everyone
I mean, anyone who's like
interested in
seeing a test screening of Superman's probably
like obsessively reading about it on the internet.
They want to contribute to that conversation somehow.
That's certainly where some of my reports come from.
But yeah,
they've just been a little too liberal in screening it,
which I think is going to come back to bite them in the ass.
Or maybe they just don't care.
Maybe they're going to give up that Jor-L cameo in the marketing.
Who knows?
Yeah, at this point, they have to.
Because I think Homi mentioned crypto
and mentioned Pocket Universe's James Gunn did in presenting Superman,
which was what popped out in those spoilers.
Dancing Dogg.
Hot Hot Pop.
I know.
Hot P-Dancing Dog 60.
Jeff, any word on the street fighter project?
No, that's, no.
Okay.
Wilante, off topic, why so negative on the WWE, Roka?
Just ask, I'm not negative on WWE.
I'm negative on the Sina turn.
I'm not negative on Roman Raines, Punk,
and Rollins' leading main eventing.
And I'm looking forward to Ria EO and beyond.
even though that was not a good match the other night.
Smash that like button, folks.
Smash that like button.
Let's hit 500 likes.
Let's go.
If Cliff Booth is a sequel, I hope they show Bruce Lee some respect.
The man was an absolute legend to enter the dragon was a 70s blockbuster RIP.
You know, people are still hung up on that scene, Jeff.
It was in his mind.
It was not real.
It was in his mind.
And so that's what he thought happened with his fight with Bruce Lee.
And like all of us, we always visualize ourselves better than we actually
are we remember memories of this stuff.
Why are people to hold it on to this?
Bruce Lee can get his own biopic.
I hope so.
One day.
Jackson Williams, Jeff was gone wrong
to shoot down your Clayface scoop?
What if Harry Potter is in contention?
Also, the VFX scoop of yours he shot down
could be true.
I mean, the VFX scoop was right.
Yeah.
Don't worry about that. That was right.
I didn't have a Clayface scoop.
I said that Daniel Radcliffe was in the mix.
or one of two names that I'd heard for Clayface.
Did that not happen?
He was one of two names I heard.
That's why I reported.
Is that a scoop?
Listen, when James Gunn cast Clayface, I guess we'll see.
But again, every name I've heard is the guy who looks just like fucking Danny Radcliffe.
So.
Yeah.
And I love people who try to give the creatives.
These creatives get pissed.
I have, listen, I have connections.
I have friends working in business.
and I know two very well-known filmmakers who got removed from a massive franchise,
they told me on a boat,
they told him on a boat ride that the scoopers get stuff so correct.
It's just stuff changes eventually.
And so it looks like they got stuff wrong.
And the creatives are forced to come out and tell them that they're not right about this or that.
So don't believe all the creatives.
Speaking of which, John, I seem to recall being murdered by the internet back in September.
when I reported something about Beyond the Spiderverse.
Mm-hmm.
A movie that just got a 20-27 release tape.
But don't worry, everything's going great.
This was a movie that was supposed to come out last year.
Yeah, last year.
Three years later and you're telling me we didn't throw anything out?
Yeah.
Okay.
You guys can believe who you want to believe.
I'm not out to get anybody.
I don't stand to benefit from talking shit.
I just pass along what I hear.
doing this a long fucking time.
I've been doing this longer than these guys have been making movies.
So some of them for sure.
Yeah.
Believe who you want to believe.
That's it.
Miguel Zion says,
Hey, y'all,
the great John Roker and the great Jeff Snyder.
But Mr. Roker,
you said on Monday that you will give it,
leave us at least one or two X-Men reports today.
No, I did not.
No, I did not.
With Jeff here,
can y'all give one each always tuning in?
No, I never said that.
Never said that.
Now, someone asked me to,
and I was joking that we would,
we would talk about X-Men.
but there's, I don't think there's anything to report, Jeff.
Yeah.
It's going to be a while.
Joey, Pedras, do you think Looney Tunes ever has a chance of becoming IP again,
or is that time long gone, a big IP again, or is that time long ago?
I mean, they announced the Looney Tunes thing at the Warner Brothers panel,
but it almost means like in past.
Joey, let me spell it out for you.
It's long gone.
And I know that everyone, you know, because I'd heard that they, from one source,
that they maybe were looking to sell the Looney Tunes franchise.
And then they went ahead and, you know, announced a Looney Tunes.
movie yesterday. It wasn't one of the five movies that they greenlit. They made that
five movies that they greenlit and Looney Tunes isn't one of them. So how big a priority is it
really? We'll see. Yeah. Yeah. Basically a shit. A ton of movies from Warner Brothers
Pictures Animation yesterday. I just think kids have their own Looney Tunes these days. They don't
want to fucking watch Bugs Bunny and Dad. That's not what they watch. That's not what my niece's
watch. If I were to put that shit right now, they look at me like I had three heads.
ballhouse or mermaid magic or fucking bluey or any of this other shit it's just not it's not their generation yeah
like where's the where's the other stuff uh i'm two fly cam says love your work jeff you have me really
nervous about superman now is michael in any danger of not of not releasing scrapped can't wait
for the hot mic friday or fellas no someone that told me that that it was potentially delayed indefinitely
or going to be shelved but i've heard that that's not the case you know they've spent
push money they've come too far and too far jackson but said to be fucking amazing he said to be
as michael jackson so i don't think that it is in any real danger of being scrapped as for why i have
you nervous about superman don't be nervous you trust your own eyeballs if you think superman it's good
there's no reason to be nervous i'm just telling you what i saw and i see the movies through
very different eyes than most of the public right yeah i have very different opinions oh
if jeff snider liked this movie it must suck if jep smiths stated the movie it must be great
that that's basically what I hear every day on on Twitter.
If you want to see if your taste aligns with mine,
you just go on the ensnider.blogspot.com,
and you've got the last decade of movie rankings,
and you can see, is this guy an asshole, or do I align with him?
Yeah, fair point.
Alan Smithy says John and Jeff on Harlov, holy mother of God.
Anyway, watch the first three episodes of the studio last night,
loved it.
They're doing some fancy camera work there,
and the director cameos are gold.
What do you guys think?
Yeah, Jeff, I think we both finished it.
So I give a general idea of our thoughts on it.
What are your thoughts on it?
Okay.
Well, actually, I'm curious now that you finish it.
Like, I thought it, it starts out great.
I think it starts out hilarious.
The show is frighteningly accurate.
Yes.
In terms of just how it approaches the industry.
But to me, it tails off in the second half.
I mean, it's still funny, but like it becomes more drug-fueled
and a little bit more about antics and a little bit less.
incisive and cutting about the industry.
Yeah.
What do you think, Joe?
I actually was thinking about you as I was watching the last few episodes, and I like those
last few episodes.
I think I come in it from a different place.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Like, I've been at those award shows.
So there's that one episode that has to deal with award shows that I thought worked,
worked really well.
And yes, the drug part of it all, I thought was, for me, was very funny, having been in
some of those situations.
So for me, it doesn't tail off a little bit.
But I think you're right in that it doesn't dive into the studio aspect of it all as strongly in the second half as it does in the first half.
And they spend, you know, the last two episodes at one particular place.
And it becomes a little unrealistic in even for a, even for a thing profiling Hollywood, which has a lot of insane stuff happen in it.
It becomes a little unrealistic.
But that cameo of a certain somebody who runs a certain news site, and that was pretty surprising.
and he could use some acting lessons.
Let me just put that on the table.
Yeah, that's what I was.
I know I've got only did a decent job.
You're insane. He was terrible.
Listen, yes, he's a little, he's a little stiff on camera.
I've seen worse journalist cameos.
To me, it was just surprising, like, how much, you know, he played a role.
I mean, it's a fucking key supporting role practically.
That's true.
That's true.
And so, like I told you, I DM Seth and was like, if you guys got a
second season. I better get a fucking mention, my friend.
That would be great.
The Sarada's cameo was great as well.
I thought the Seratos cameo was great.
Corn Emper says, make sure to follow at John Roka
says, at the Roka says, at the Roka says,
for all your geeky needs, spill the tequila geek buddies, the hot mic,
plus John the Outlaw Roka's thoughts, and also
the hot mic with Jeff Snyder. Come on, guys.
This is a big thing. Is your ad man? I like this,
Corn. I know. I like corn. He's very nice.
Alex says, love the playlist, Jeff,
a perfect circle, and PJ Harvey,
were huge for me in high school.
And Hailing by FC Kahuna is a classic night drive song.
What is this?
What's the playlist, Jeff?
You guys think I just have great taste in movies.
I have great taste in music, maybe even better taste in music.
The playlist, I played 38 songs I wound up having time for, from L.A. to Vegas.
I posted them all online.
You can check that out on my Twitter.
Thank you, Alex, for noticing.
And, yeah, I had a little, a perfect circle binge in the middle of that trip.
Nice.
Alex also says, the person's Utopia made over a billion.
Zootopia is a huge overseas, which is why they already have a land dedicated in Shanghai,
much love, brook.
Oh, I didn't know that.
Okay.
Fair point.
Fair point.
Simon's action says, John, it's not April 5th yet.
Are there any films that you haven't seen yet?
Jeff Magazine Dreams, do you care?
John can out squat us both.
Oh, yeah, those were the days.
April 5th, any films you haven't said?
I don't know what that means.
I mean, there were a couple of a handful of movies I missed.
I didn't see Opus.
I didn't see Last Breath.
Yeah, there's just a couple that have fallen through the cracks.
I'll catch up with him.
Magazine Dreams was worth seeing because Jonathan Majors is amazing in it,
but it's not a great movie.
Yeah.
I got to see a black bag today and The Working Man.
I got to see both of those today.
I want to see it.
Chris Krauss says,
Hot Mike pitch, Jeff's Rant Corner.
Jeff has three minutes of random subject, signed a fan of Jeff's rants.
Well, you get them anyway, but yes, sure.
That's what the show is.
Yeah, exactly. I mean, I don't know what extra you need.
You need me to announce a rant? I don't see that makes sense.
We need a sound effect, like a rant incoming.
Well, it becomes staged if we announce it when your rants are really better organically as they happen.
Nerdy master, like your idea of with the 100 pound women today.
Nerdy mastermind, big deal or no deal, the mention of the Batman Part 2 at WB's panel.
Yeah, Jeff, is that a big deal or no bill that they didn't?
It's a medium deal. It's neither big deal or not.
Or no deal.
It is a medium.
Okay.
Medium two.
Yeah, people want to know what the fuck is going on.
Theater owners want to know when are we getting another Batman movie?
And to not have an answer to that question yet is not great.
Yeah, it's a shame.
Owen Lanning says people need to chill.
Campiest crew was super excited about the soup's presentation.
Jeff shares his own opinion.
It's good to hear from different perspectives.
Keep it up, boys.
That's true.
Listen, love Campi and the whole crew.
But, like, you know, they're coming out of from a different perspective.
These are not industry reporters.
Right.
Right.
Yeah, they serve a different function, which is great, and we need people to serve that function and the function I serve.
But these are different functions.
Right, right.
Agreed.
Andre says, hot mic follow or an insider subscriber here, just posting this to show support.
Thank you, Andre.
Thank you.
Well, we got to 40 super chats.
Oh, we've got 41.
Sorry about that.
Dancing Dog 60.
You two are funny, smart, and informative, God is say.
Well, Jeff is the informative one.
I'm just reacting to everything Jeff says.
You have plenty of good shit.
Plenty of good stuff.
I know Jamie Williams, but I do what I can.
It's great to meet you this week, by the way, guys.
I talked to Jamie 100 times a day.
Been working with him for over a year.
We just met this week at Cinema Cup.
Wow.
Are you staying together or does he have his own place?
He's in bed, Jamie.
Come up.
No.
There's a little fucking room, John.
He's his own room.
We're adults.
That's good.
That's good.
I'm not working for them.
rap where they made me sleep with the other coworkers to save money yeah yeah i've heard about that
for sure um all right jeff we're going to wrap up the show uh what else have you got going on uh promote
pitch to do your thing my man what do you got newsletter guys are you know if you subscribe
for a month if you don't like it you can unsubscribe but uh i think it's worth the money as you can
see like whether it's the tarantino story the michael jacks and stuff i i it's doing a good job i think
um holding up my end of the bargain so check check
out at Theinsider.com and I will have the rest of the recaps for a cinema con and report cards.
We've got Universal and Amazon today. Tomorrow's Paramount and Disney Fox.
What do you, what would you, what do you think is going to be like a surprise?
What do you think might be a surprise? Do you have a thing that you're kind of looking forward to in any of these panels that you were hoping shows up as a surprise or what are you hearing?
Anything you can say on that?
I would say never.
say, die.
Okay.
All right.
I would watch out for that crew because I could see a Goonies announcement happening.
Really?
No, wait.
No, I'm sorry.
That was Warner Bros.
That would have been yesterday.
Shit.
Yeah.
Fuck.
I really thought that they were going to do something with Goonies and Grimlins.
My bet.
What are we doing?
I think that maybe something with the Peel or Daniels today at Universal.
I would do something.
We had that poster of him that was dropped yesterday's producing.
What did you think of that?
Oh, him, I think it's a great poster.
I mean, that's a cool script.
It's an interesting idea.
I'm very curious how that performs.
Yeah, so, yes, I guess I just tipped.
I do think that the Goonies is more active than they're letting on.
Anyways, they didn't go into any development stuff at the Warner Bros.
Which, again, was disappointing that there was no, like, Dune announcement or whatever.
Let me think what else.
Amazon, Paramount.
I mean, Paramount, okay, the thing about Paramount,
I think that you need to say, hey,
we are still in business with the King.
We still have King.
It may be Final Reckon, but Tom Cruise will return in Top Gun 3.
Oh, you think they'll have Top Gun 3.
I do think that there will be a date announcement for Top Gun 3.
I would, 2028.
bro especially after the passing of val kilmer the timing wouldn't be more perfect i mean couldn't
you know what fuck i didn't i did not take that into account the timing may if anything cancel that
announcement the time they may be like we're not going to talk about top gun anymore because of
you know this just happened and maybe it's disrespectful i don't know no i think i think i think
i think the other way i think what they'll say is like you know vall kilmer delivered such a wonderful
performance, iconic performance as a franchise he loved coming back to be a part of,
and we love it too, and we know you all loved it, and Val was such a huge part of it.
So we are continuing the Top Gun franchise with a third installment.
I think we would lose their minds, you know, because people love to me.
I do think that's how you get how Paramount, what they need to do.
I wouldn't expect anything to happen with Star Trek just because we,
Ellison is in place to make a move on Star Trek.
It's all about what he wants.
Paramount would have been great if they could have announced that.
evil can evil movie and say we got leo but yeah the old thing done like i don't know if they're hustling
to get it done by tomorrow right but it sounds like it's not going to be part of the presentation
good point all right we should let jeff goes he's got a lot of things to do he's got appointments
he's got people to meet he's got presentations to witness and of course as we said
jeff and i will be live on the hot mic on friday time to be announced in the next couple of days
to let you all know when we're doing it um but please tune in on the outlaw nation channel
there YouTube.com slash John Roker says and follow Jeff at the Insider. Thanks, Jeff. We'll say goodbye
to you now. Take care, brother. Have a good time. Thank you. Take care. Bye. Peace. All right. There was Jeff.
Wait, how do I go to a solo? There we go. All right. That was Jeff hanging out with us today,
giving us his cinema con points of views, his thoughts on the Warner Brothers breakdown and their
presentation of Superman and what have you. And of course, jumping into all the panels,
he got a chance to be a part of. And yes, some of you wanted more reaction from the footage,
I'm sure, but, you know, Jeff doesn't watch those things.
I know a lot of people who don't watch trailers,
don't watch a lot of the footage because they don't want to have things ruined for them,
but he's able to give us some good insight and good input or, sorry,
good insight and good analysis into what we got there from those different panels.
Jeff's always plugged in, man.
You know, as much research as I do, I'm always way, you know, a few steps behind Jeff,
because Jeff's having these meetings talking to producers, talking to executives.
You know, I've seen him work at CinemaCon.
It's something to behold.
And so you're getting authentic points of views, authentic information coming from him.
I know some of you like to bash him, but you don't really get how hard he works to be in the position that he's in and the amount of information that he gets and gives out to a lot of people.
So if you want to subscribe to his newsletter newsletter, it's well worth your time if you're into the entertainment news and wanting to be in the know of what's going on.
And it's pretty extensive newsletter that it delivers when he drops it.
So you're not getting like blurbs.
you're getting actual in-depth analysis of that stuff.
So, all right, just to plug there for Jeff,
but also my channel, YouTube.com slash John Roker,
says the Outlaw Nation.
We just crossed 37,000 200 subscribers the other day.
We'd love to get to 40 and 50.
If you enjoy what Jeff and I did today,
this was just a sample of the hot mic.
This is just a little bit of the hot mic.
There's much more cussing on the hot mic.
This is much more back and forth
between Jeff and I battling over things on the hot mic.
But this was a nice sample of what you get,
If you enjoyed it, you've heard about it, you haven't tried it out.
I can't encourage you enough to head on over to the Outlaw Nation channel and try it out.
We're also available in podcast form.
The Hot Mike is its own podcast feeds.
