Hello, everybody. Welcome back to The Big Thing. Happy Friday. It is the big thing.
Slash Capes and Cowell slash Sith Council today, really. Winston and Coy not here this week again.
The strikes are having major impacts on the industry in general. This show is no different.
I think as we get closer to a resolution of the strikes, this show will start to get the cast of characters back that you normally see weekly.
but for now it's going to be me talking about subjects inside of both Star Wars and comic book movies.
And the major topic, as you probably clicked on, for Fantastic Forecasting seems to be getting finalized.
At least that's what a report from Jeff Snyder, John Roker over at the Hot Mike podcast say Vanessa Kirby from Mission Impossible and The Crown is almost a guarantee to play Sue Storm.
says Jeff Snyder, as well as his report, that Joseph Quinn from Stranger Things,
is going to be playing her brother, Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch.
So what does this mean? Do we like the casting? We'll talk about that for sure.
There's now rumors that season four of The Mandalorian isn't even going to be a season four.
It's going to be a movie. So how does that play into it?
And is that the movie that was announced by Filoni or is that something completely different?
Speaking of Star Wars, speaking of the tie-in to Faloni's universe,
Asoka, the first two run times.
There was a TV trailer that just came out that it gave a little bit more detail the story,
but there's the runtime.
We'll talk about the runtime of that show also.
So we have a lot to talk about today.
There's more topics for sure, but that's what we're getting into.
So if you're brand new to the channel, you've never been here before,
do me a favor.
Hit that button, getting us to 100,000.
We're trying.
We're moving.
You can go over to Apple Podcast, Spotify, anywhere podcasts are found.
It is the big thing.
It is the show.
Let's do it.
Okay, great.
What's going on, everybody?
Welcome back.
So we're going big thing today.
Just normally do the full kind of capes and cows episode.
But as I said, up top on the intro, spoke to Winston and Coy.
Winston is still recovering from surgery.
He's getting better.
And Coy is out right now at one of the cons doing a bunch of,
interviews and whatnot.
And that's always interesting too.
So the way that the rules work, by the way, for the strike,
I saw somebody posted it as a go.
It's interesting that actors are still going to cons.
Isn't that crossed in the line?
No, because they can't talk about anything.
You're still able to do it.
I'm just very curious of what the questions are going to be, like from Koi, right?
What can you talk about?
What can you bring up?
And as I was going on the text chain with the guys,
they were the same thing.
It's like they still aren't very clear on what they can talk about,
what they're allowed to talk about those types things.
Some people like myself, John Roker, and other people are a little bit more confident in how it comes down to the notes that we got about if you're doing it as far as a critique and you're doing it.
I've been doing the review business and all that stuff and talking about this certified on Rotten Tomatoes, all that for a while now.
So when I wrote to Sagan, I got a response that if you, if your show deals in reviews and you deal in critique and you didn't and you've been, you know, paid as a professional critic in your life,
and that it's looked upon as a critique show,
and you're not violating the rules.
And I know that the people on the show get a little hesitant about that,
and I haven't pressured anybody to do it.
It's like, okay, when Roxy's on the show on Thursday,
we talk about the stuff going on within the strike,
but then when it comes to actual news stories,
it's more about her neighbor and her dating stories.
So that's what Thursday show has kind of become.
Tuesday is the UAP show that Riley and I have done,
and we've got a lot of new people.
So if you're brand new to the channel because of that,
don't worry. We'll be back on Tuesday to do that. We taped the show yesterday, and we'll have the episode up.
But a lot of this stuff, and Mike, Mike still, I think Mike's comfortable about it too. He's going to be coming in, I think, on Wednesday to talk. Steph.
Same, I have to talk to Steph. But we're getting closer to Osoka, and we'll be reviewing that, you know, at least I think.
So we'll figure it out. But I do think, as I've mentioned on Thursday show, with the writers getting in the room,
the studios. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end. Oh, the beginning.
Because someone said, well, I don't know. Some comment
yesterday was like, I'm making a prediction that I don't think they're going to settle it in
the room. And I said, they're definitely not going to settle it in the room today.
Is that when they're doing it? They're definitely not going to settle today. The question
is, when they get into the room, is it like, okay, this is a start? We've brought these
concerns up. You've met back with this. That's reasonable.
I think we can make something work here.
Let's keep talking because this is a good,
this is good progression.
Or no one's budging.
And it's just like, you guys are not seeing our points.
You're not seeing what we're trying to do here.
You're not listening to us.
This has gotten nowhere.
It's also possible.
I hope that's not the case.
I hope it's scenario one.
But, I mean, and the third scenario is, okay.
You guys have a great, look at that.
We didn't know that you, oh, you took us really seriously.
You've come up with a great solution.
We accept.
Very unrealistic, but would be great to,
would be great if that happened.
And then, you know, and then SAG starts negotiating as well, too,
I think pretty soon from what I heard.
So, fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed.
But let's get into the report yesterday.
John Roka and Jeff Snyder did their show The Hot Mike.
It's a great show on John's channel.
And Jeff was on there and said,
I think he called John early to say,
hey, I got something big.
I got some scoops.
And his scoop, of course, was the news
that Vanessa Kirby is reportedly a lock for Sue Storm.
This is what said.
Jeff Snyder refutes the recent rumor
that Matt Smith has been offered the role of Reed Richards,
though he does think he was in the running,
but is almost certain that Vanessa Kirby is now locked to play Sue Storm.
The Mission Impossible, Dead Reckoning actress has been rumored to be in the running for a miserable woman for a while,
so it wouldn't come as a major surprise, but we do also have some new juicy details.
This is from a comic book movie.
So we also know that Joseph Quinn is going to be getting the role apparently of Johnny Storm.
And we've also heard that the Bears Ebbing Moss Bachrock has been cast, but not as Ben Grimm.
So I don't think he said that in his report.
I think he said that he think that he thinks.
thinks he was cast, but he doesn't, he's not sure if it's Ben Graham.
He wasn't, he wasn't, he wasn't, he wasn't, he wasn't, he wasn't, he wasn't,
but he said, I don't think it is.
Because what he said, apparently Marvel is looking for a, uh, it's Jeff's words,
a fat, white guy to play the thing, which leads Snyder to speculate that Mossbrook
might be betraying either Dr. Drew, Doom, or the Silver Surfer.
Glactus is possible, but Jeff believes, believes a rumor that the world devouring villain
will be played by a Latino actor, maybe Antonio Banderas, if any of the,
this is accurate.
Expect the trades to weigh in soon.
So the thing with,
this is really about Vanessa Kirby,
and I guess,
you can also say
Joseph Quinn are the two
that they really honed in on
the hot mic there yesterday,
but Snyder was pretty confident in Vanessa Kirby.
That was the one that he kept hearing
because initially inside of that report,
he said Jack Quaid,
and then I guess his source gave him JQ,
and so he was like,
oh, okay, Jack Quaid, that's what it was,
and then as,
there was more of those rumors and Snyder halfway through the show was like I'm
I meant Joseph Quinn that's what it was that was that was JQ that was JQ ah and then I guess
his source kind of conformed that for him confirm that for him so I if this casting is true
because there's another thing that came about with this by the way too afterwards I saw a bunch
of people kind of online saying and even in their chat yesterday well wait a minute how
were they finalizing this cast? They're in the middle of a strike. And Snyder, I think,
then said, well, the agents aren't off. The agents aren't done working. They're still making
deals. Now, the question is, though, can they finalize the deals, right? They can say and have
conversations of, I mean, the argument against, I guess a few people is that actors and writers
should be telling their agents do not negotiate anything on my behalf.
during the strike. Now, if that's the case, you know, then that's, then they're either breaking
their clients' trust or they're not doing that. I don't know. But it's still very possible that
these conversations could be made through the studio going, hey, we went through, as this
strike is going on, we're going through these tapes, and we really think we want Vanessa now.
Like, once this thing is settled, we'd really like to bring her on to the team, pun intended,
that I guess. And then, and then Joseph Quinn, same thing. I like this casting. I don't know.
Let's see. I'm going to go over the ages because I don't know. I mean, I don't think it's too much
of a, I think that Sue's supposed to be a little older anyway, right? I think she is, but I don't think
that I'm not too much. 35. Okay. Vanessa Kirby is 35 and Joseph Quinn is 29. Yeah. So that makes
sense? Younger brother, right? I'm pretty sure that he's the younger brother.
So that's, I think it's really, I think it's great casting. I think Vanessa Kirby is amazing.
I think she was really good in the crown, like really good in the crown. And Mission
Impossible, the last few that she's been in, she's been two of them, I think, at least two.
And she's always been, she just has that, she's got, there's something about her. She just
has that, she's a great actress, but she also has that charisma. And there's just something about
and from what Snyder says that this is going to really revolve around her and not as much read.
Now, because they haven't, he said inside the report, it looked like Adam Driver had,
and this was came out a couple of weeks ago or a week ago that Adam Driver had passed on the role.
And I heard what Snyder and Roker were talking about on the show,
and they said that they should go after a big movie star,
because if you look at everyone rumored right now,
whether it's Joseph Quinn, Eben from the bear,
You know, and now Vanessa Kirby, all very, very talented actors, and I love all of them.
They're all great.
But the question is, how do you sell the movie to people that Fantastic Four hasn't had a real?
I mean, you know, you can argue that the Tim Story versions were successful, but they're not considered great movies.
The Josh Trank movie wasn't very good and had all its problems.
even though they had a great cast, and that cast now is way more famous today than they were back then,
but it could sell tickets probably better, but I mean, I don't know if you could ever help that movie
from what it was. Either way, they need somebody. I agree with what Snyder was saying on the show.
You need somebody that can drive tickets because Vanessa Kirby, again, will be a household name after
this if it does as well as people think that it can. And the long juby,
that the Fantastic Four should have.
But yeah, you need somebody.
You need somebody, I think, big.
Or maybe it's Dr. Doom.
You know, maybe it's Dr. Doom that that,
almost like a Jack Nicholson type of thing.
What they did in Batman 89 with Jack, they do with Doom.
But, and the idea of Joseph Quinn, I think that this is,
he had such a breakout role in Stranger Things,
one season coming in and really stealing the show.
And people were just clamoring for this guy to do more.
And this would be a big role.
This one makes sense.
It made less sense to me when he was saying Jack Quaid.
I could see Jack Quaid doing it.
And some people weren't liking the choice of it.
And I could see Jack Quaid doing it.
But I don't know.
I think that that kind of personality that he showed as Eddie, Jack Quaid, I mean, Joseph Quinn, that he showed as Eddie.
And I think that you can tweak that a little, really, and turn it into.
Johnny. So I like this casting a lot, to be honest with you. I really do. If that is indeed the case,
we won't know for at least a couple weeks, months, who knows until the strikes over.
And there is also something to be said. I saw arguments being made that there's just news coming out
because there's nothing to really grab onto. So Snyder got this scoop, and I think,
rightfully so, reported on Rocha and his show. So if it turns out that it's true,
it's going to be like, oh, okay, well, he had the inside track, and we'll figure out how that went down during the actual strike itself.
But I ask you guys, what do you think?
Do you think this is good casting?
If it is true, do you like the casting of Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm and as Joseph Quinn, as her brother, Johnny?
And who do you think should play thing?
Who do you think should play Reed?
Who do you think should play Dr. Doom?
I still think should be Henry Cavill.
He's nowhere even in the mentioning of the casting.
I don't think it's going to happen.
It's just an outside kind of dream casting of mine.
I think it would be a great move.
It's almost like Johnny Damon going to the Yankees.
But I'm very curious to what you guys think.
So please put your comments in below.
All right, before we get going to the next story,
I do want to tell you guys about both Green Chef and AG1.
So happy to have them both as sponsors on the show,
and I love them, and I'll tell you a little bit more about them right now.
I know, I know.
You guys know how much I love Green Chef,
and I talk about it all the time.
And why wouldn't I?

I've been making a lot of the rice bowls, but they have like really good shrimp. I'm a big seafood guy,
and I love their shrimp. I just, I actually just put some on the grill the other day,
fired it up and made like some casillas out of them too. Hoof so good. It's really amazing.
They have so much great stuff. Go to greenchef.com slash thing 50 and use that code. Thing

She said, this is dad has vitamins.
all in one shot.
And I started it because of my buddy Brett Sheridan.
He's like, you got to try it, man.
It's really amazing.
You'll love it.
Because I wasn't a big vitamins person.
I've told you guys that many times over,
but I just put it in a water bottle.
I shake it up.
Done.
And I do it right before my coffee, by the way.
I have some AG1 first.
I have it with my breakfast.
I go on my walk, and I am feeling good.
Real good.
I'm ready to start the day.
I love it.
It's just so amazing because I don't like
doing that whole supplement routine with a bunch of different products. It's just not for me.
And for me, since I have AG1 better sleep quality. I have a better feeling of health overall.
And I don't understand why people would take a whole bunch of different things where you can just
take one scoop of powder and water once a day, done. Because AG1 was designed with ease in mind

It's delivered to me every month. It's been very easy to make it a daily habit and so can you.

AG1 has been with us now for the last year.

and you're also supporting yourself by getting one of our great partners
in Green Chef or AG1.
Okay, so now let's move over.
I want to stay with the Fantastic Four for a second, actually.
I want to stay with them and listen to this.
Fantastic Four.
forecasting rumors continue finding their way online.
With an official announcement not expected to be made
until the SAG aftra strike ends,
we expect these reports to continue in earnest for months to come.
It's frustrating, but we'll always try to sift through the BS for you here
at Comicbookmovie.com.
Last night's reports, we looked at these claims with a pinch of salt,
though they do echo at least some of the things we've been hearing about the reboot.
According to Beyond the trailer, Adam Driver, Matt Smith,
Dev Patel are all in the short list to play the MCF,
to use Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic.
As for Andor star, Evan Moss Bachrock, he's not being eyed to play Galactus and is, in fact,
likely going to be the herald of Galactus.
However, rather than Silver Surfer, the actor is expected to take on the role of an earlier
herald based on past reports that will be Terax.
This is all very, this is German to me, by the way.
It's still unclear whether Joseph Quinn will play the human torch, but it does sound like
Vanessa Kirby is a lock for Invisible Woman.
It's a stellar casting decision on Marvel Studios past
and explains the Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1
Star's reaction when asked about the role
while promoting that movie. The biggest rumor
we have to share for you today is that Fantastic Four
will be set in the 1960s
with Marvel's first family finding their way into the present day
similar to how Captain America was a man at his time.
If true, this is a clever way to put a fresh spin on the team
while leaning into the tone of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's
early Fantastic Four Adventures. The only problem is
when Reed, Sue, Ben, and Johnny find themselves in mid-2020s,
is there not a risk Mr. Fantastic,
will be far from the MCU's smartest man.
Nonetheless, we're intrigued and hoped for some slightly more solid news rather than later.
Okay, so, yeah, I mean, I immediately thought of that when I read that report,
that it has like a kind of Captain America feel to it,
and it would be interested to capture that tone,
because that's what I liked about Wonder Woman, right?
they stayed because when I was at, I worked at,
when I was working at Warner Brothers
and I was at Joel Silver's company,
we had the
Wonder Woman script.
And the Wonder Woman script at the time was written by
Joss Whedon and Joel was very adamant that he wanted to do
a modern day thing. I never loved that.
I never loved that. And this is before Captain America's all this stuff.
I never loved the idea that they were going to put her modern day.
So these guys that I knew, these guys, Genesis and Strickland,
they wrote a spec script and you can find this.
I think he still played it online.
And they put it in that time.
They actually got hired by Warner Brothers to,
they bought the spec script because it was that good.
And they had it in the same time that they eventually did the Patty Jenkins movie
the way that they did it.
And they were trying, and then the notes that came through the studio
of making them change into modern day and all that.
And it was just, it was hard to watch.
But eventually Captain America came about,
prove that you could do it in that time, make it work and capture the essence of what Captain America was all about,
and then give him that transfer into modern day after his first movie.
So if they did something along the lines where the first movie was the 60s and they tried, I mean, it's kind of like,
I wouldn't say old hat, but it's one of those things that when you start doing enough of these movies
that the same kind of beats start happening, right?
And that's one of the things that I have found less fresh about comic book movies in general,
is just like you've seen so much of this stuff before that it does, it starts to feel a lot.
little generic. Not saying that this, they can't do it in a fresh way to make it seem good.
And the point of that Reed Richards is the guy. He's the one, he's supposed to be the smartest guy
in all of the MCU. And that's going to be hard to do if you're coming from the 60s into
2025, I guess, when you look at the time jump. And who knows? Do they jump in before the snap?
Do they jump in after the snap? Do they jump in at all? Is it part of the multiverse? That's probably
what they're going to have to figure out.
So, yeah, it's interesting.
And I like to, I am excited for this version of it,
but I am excited to see how they fit into the grand scheme of the MCU.
And I think that the Vanessa Kirby casting is one of the best ones that we've heard so far,
if it is indeed true.
But I actually think, I actually disagree with Snyder in the fact that,
I really would like to see Evan play thing.
I think he's got that, he's got,
that thing about him where there's that quiet anger and you can see him really as far as,
I think it's perfect for him.
It doesn't look like that's going to be what he's playing.
They start throwing names out there.
This is when I need coy and Winston here.
What are they talking about?
I don't know.
So anyway, again, let me know what you guys think about it.
Do you think that that's the right call?
Is it the wrong call?
Should they stay in the 60s?
Should they not be in the 60s at all?
Do they just try to redo the whole thing where they're trying to fit in into modern day?
Very curious to what everybody thinks out there.
And do you think that Evan should play the thing or should he play somebody else?
Go ahead.
Let me know in the comments.
All right.
Let's move to the next thing here.
And I want to talk about Bobby.
All right.
This is from CNBC.
Barbie is less than $100 million away from a billion box office heading into the third weekend.
Wow.
heading into the weekend, Barbie has tallied 916.1 million. It's expected to hit the coveted billion dollar benchmark before Monday.
In doing so, director Greta Gerwig will become the first solo female director to have a film cross one billion globally.
The bubblegum pink flick from Warner Brothers Discovery and Mattel shows that moviegoers are interested in leaving their couches for quality films and unique communal experiences.
Before Gerwig Anna Bowden, who is a co-director of Captain Marvel, was the first.
first female director to be attached to a billion-dollar film. Captain Marvel reached just shy of
$1.13 billion during its theatrical run in 2019. When Barbie tops this mark, it will become the first
billion-dollar film to do so for the newly minted Warner Brothers discovery, and Barbie has become
a global phenomenon in ways the industry perhaps didn't see coming as it reignites cultural
discussions about femininity. Box office analysts don't expect Barbie ticket sales to stall after this weekend.
Either the film has limited competition through the rest of the summer season and is expected to
continue to lure movie goers to cinemas.
Yeah, listen, I went and I
have my ad of the theater reaction up for
the Meg 2. And it's funny,
I put it up originally on, normally what they do is they give you
the social embargo is when you see the movie, but the
review embargo is usually two days later or
whenever, right? And so, myself and
I don't know if you guys follow breakfast all day with Lanzo
Rald Day and Christine Lemire, which you should.
They're fantastic.
But I noticed all of us had our stuff up there, and then I got text from them saying, hey,
did you know, they asked us to take it down because of the embargo was not for social either.
I said, okay, I'm not going to mess with that.
So I took it down.
But then I realized that for you to, when you put it on private after it's on public, it'll stall.
So I just re-uploaded it again.
So that's what happened there.
But nonetheless, it's not a great movie.
It's just not a great movie.
And it's not going to cause any competition.
but when I went to see it the other day
and I saw it, it was a screening
at like 4 o'clock,
something like that, maybe 5 o'clock.
And this place was packed
with people still going to see Barbie.
And the previous week,
or, yeah, the previous week on like a Tuesday,
the place was packed,
the people in pink all over the place
and taking pictures in that,
in the Barbie box, and it is.
It's become this phenomenon,
and it's not going to stop,
I don't think, for a little bit.
It'll probably be the best.
biggest movie of the year. I think it'll have a chance to beat Mario, I think. What's Mario's
overall box office right now? Let's check. So what do you guys think? I was talking, I was watching
a little bit of Sam Roberts, friend of the show, and he was talking about how that you don't see,
basically the two reviews you see at Barbie, is anybody who really either loves it or hates it
because they thought that it was just like this, yeah, woke movie that was just terrible and
anti-men. And there's not a lot of, uh, yeah, type reviews.
I gotta tell you, I kind of fall in there where I can say that I,
Greta Gerwig, and I said it many times over, I think she's fantastic.
I thought she directed the hell out of this movie, and I think Gosling's good in the movie.
I think Margot Robbie is great in the movie.
And I think that the overall, the set design, the way it was directed and written,
it just at times, I think even in the writing, as I say,
the tone was a little all over the place for me.
and when I still say, well, how do you see the writing is good then?
Because even those like three different movies going on,
all three of those movies were written well.
They just didn't combine to me.
Like there was sometimes it was like this really silly kind of fun musical.
And then the next thing is a big serious speech right afterwards.
And I was just jarring for me.
And I'm clearly in the minority on that one.
There's people who just, I mean, a billion dollars in three weeks.
It's people love this movie.
So regardless of what you think about it,
even if you're one of the people who hate it, like hate it.
I didn't hate it.
If so if you hate this movie, you've got to give it props and say,
holy moly, look at that.
The fact that this isn't a superhero movie,
and the other female director who hit the billion was through a comic book movie, right?
So this is also the first solo female director to hit a billion dollars
outside of the comic book movie realm.
This is a massive, massive accomplishment.
And, yeah, this is big news.
So do you guys think it'll beat Mario?
That's the question I think that I want to hear from everybody.
Let me know in the comments, do you think it's going to beat Mario?
Yes or no, reasons why.
Comment and let me know what you think.
Let's jump to D.C. now, right?
So the other day, there was an interview that had come out.
Again, this was taken before the strike itself, but it was released recently.
And it had Galgadoadot saying that she is going to be working on Wonder Woman 3
with James Gunn and Peter Safra.
And everybody, including myself,
well, wait a minute.
How does that work?
How does that work inside of the DCU?
Is it a Elseworld's thing?
Like, what is it?
They're just going to basically,
they want her to finish off the franchise
because they know everybody loves Gal.
And I don't know.
But this is another report here from a comic book movie.
It says Gal Gadot has once again said
that a new Wonder Woman movie is in the works at DC Studios,
revealing that the plan has always been for her
to reprise the role of Diana Prince
without filmmaker,
Patty Jenkins. Earlier this week, Galgadoot confirmed James Gunn and Peter Saffron's DC Studios is
developing a new Wonder Woman movie. The decision was previously made to pull the plug on Patty
Jenkins planned three-quel primarily because it didn't fit into Gunn's vision for the DCU.
Considering the fact that Wonder Woman 84 was something of a critical disaster, it's also likely
the filmmaker's screenplay also wasn't quite up to snuff. Either way, the expectation became
that Diana Prince would eventually be recast.
Well, while Henry Cavill was giving his marching orders, all signs now point to Godot being one of the few DCEU actors who get to reprise their past roles in this rebooted shared world.
In a translated interview with Israeli websitecon.org, the actress reiterated plans for a new Wonder Woman movie, which we recently heard is likely to be a reboot rather than a direct sequel to the previous installments.
Godot says, we are developing a third movie and we will see what happens with it.
no one ever talked to me about freezing.
I was told that I was in good hands and I could be calm.
We were supposed to shoot the third film now with Patty,
my beloved friend and the very talented director,
but it won't happen.
It's no secret that Jenkins won't be returning to the franchise,
as she was said to be very unhappy with the newly formed DC Studios
when they rejected the plan she had to close out the trilogy,
which began with 2017's Wonder Woman.
A fresh start would do the Amazon warrior good,
and bringing her into the present day is a must.
There are still many stories which can be told,
hold with a character, and when the Justice League eventually assembles, the Trinity should
absolutely be front and center. A max series set in the days of Themescara is in the works for
Chapter 1, gods and monsters, though it's unclear if that would be where Godot's Wonder Woman
is somehow reintroduced. DC Studios and Games going to have yet to respond to Godot's comments,
which remained prior to the strike. Yeah, I'm still confused that in my mind. I'm still confused.
I guess even more so now. Because I guess it would make more sense.
to me if they're like, like these were the options that we talked about on Wednesday when
Chris Carr was on the show, which, if everyone watched that episode, please do it. It was wonderful.
She's the best. So the options were okay. This was kind of talked about when we were going to see
what's going to happen with the flash. We had high hopes for the flash. It ate it. We hoped that
Shazam 2 was going to make some money. It ate it. We hope Black Adam was going to make some money.
It didn't. You know, like, and then Aquazam.
man, it's like, I don't know.
It's not looking too good. There's five things of reshoots.
I don't know.
So there's a possibility that they're like, well, we did talk about that, but we're just
going to try to wash our hands of it now, move on.
But this doesn't seem that way, right?
This seems more so, again, even though it was right around the time, I think Flash
was out at the point when they had this interview, so they're still talking about it.
But gal's talking to James Good and Safran, and they're like, okay, look, this is what
we want you to close out the franchise.
We want to do one more movie.
be with you. We're going to bring in a new director.
We're going to do, we announced
that there's going to be else worlds.
We said we're going to keep the door open for you.
We're going to stick to that promise, and we're going to close
out the Wonder Woman movies that we did.
We're going to give you one more.
And then they give her one more.
They bring in a new director. They try to make
some money off it because it's gal, and
they think they can do some great things
with it, and they tie it in. But this
report makes me go, wait a minute.
Like, what?
This one's going to be confusing.
because if they reboot it and they change it completely and they introduce Diana into the new DCU,
whether it's through this show or whether it's a new Wonder Woman movie inside the DCU,
but it's a multiverse thing where she's not the same Wonder Woman because it's brand new.
That's going to confuse a lot of people who aren't paying attention to this stuff.
That's going to confuse a lot of people because they're going to see Gal Gadot.
they're going to go, oh, okay, it's another one.
Where's Chris Plyne?
You know, no, that's not, that's a different, it's a different, Diana.
What do you mean?
It's just like Jay Jonah Jameson and, and people are going to say that.
Well, why they did Jay Jonah Jameson, it was fine.
He's not, he's not, he's not, you know, when he just have him as Jay Jonah
Jameson, I actually think they should have had a more so as a multiverse character.
It was a little, well, I guess they kind of did, right?
It was confusing.
Maybe he just read versions of himself that looked the same.
So, but that one wasn't that wasn't, it was a, it's a minor character in the grand scheme of things.
It's so I think, you know, if you bring in, like, it's like if you brought in Andrew Garfield to play Peter Parker or Toby McGuire to play Peter Parker in the new, in the MCU, it would have been confusing.
Yeah, it's confusing.
So, again, that, that portion of it is a rumor.
and it also really scratches the head once again in the Henry Cowell of it all
because it just seems so bizarre that they're like, yeah,
it's just like they wanted to work out some kind of thing with everybody except him.
They're talking to Jason Momoa.
They mentioned Gals the only one kind of moving forward.
We don't know what's happening with Jason Momoa.
The way that they set that up at the end of the flash, it's up in the air.
He had that meeting and made it seem like he was getting cast in something,
whether it's logo or whatever it might be.
was coming back as Aquaman.
So he's still in the family.
You got, I mean, you got to assume,
you got to assume now that that's the end of Ezra Miller as the Flash.
You have to assume it.
It would be a major, major mistake to bring Ezra Miller back.
But nonetheless, still had an opportunity to play Barry again,
and they had already been in the role at that point,
and it was released.
And Ben Affleck was coming back.
And Ben Affleck also came back to shoot stuff with Aquaman.
I don't think they kept that in the actual movie, but was in the flash.
So everybody's having these opportunities, and his cavils was like,
bye.
Sucks.
But I'm very curious to see where this is going to go.
Very curious to see where this is going to go.
Because this is confusing.
This is why I wish, I mean, right now,
Nobody's doing interviews anyway, but I would, I'd love to be able to sit down and talk to James Gunn for like two hours.
Because you know, what I like about James Gunn is that even though sometimes I think, for his own good, he should stay off Twitter and social media.
I know he loves it.
I just think he doesn't need to do it as much as he does, but he's very open with people.
And he really wants the fans and everybody else to kind of know what's going on.
I'd love to people to sit down and just ask, like, how does this work?
and you figure somebody's going to ask him that eventually.
How does this work with Wonder Woman?
How does it work?
People are tweeting him about it.
He doesn't respond that, I don't think.
I haven't seen anything.
But how do you guys think it's going to work?
How do you guys think this is going to work?
You think it's going to be...
First of all, let me ask you this.
Do you think it could work?
If they were like, okay, in the J. Jonah Jameson of it all,
they're bringing Gal Gadote back.
And she's going to play Wonder Woman,
but she's a different version of Wonder Woman.
And they're going to reintroduce her in a new movie.
It's going to be a Wonder Woman for the DC.
you and that's it.
Do you think that can work or is it too confusing?
Maybe I'm wrong.
All right, we're going to shift a little bit now.
And before we do, I've been talking about it all week and I'm going to bring it up again.
I'm very excited to be working with Better Help.

All right, let's move over. Here you see the late, great race.
Stevenson and his role in Asoka, they did a TV spot the other day, which was a little more story to it.
And there was, actually, there was two of them.
There's another one that combined a lot of the franchise in general about master and apprentice.
And it was like the redemption of Asoka.
And the other thing that came out of all this was that they released, they're going to put two episodes up of Asoka on its premiere date.
Episodes one and two, which again, I always think is really smart for them to do because it always just takes like the second episode for things to get moving.
and if you don't have the first, because a lot of times people will watch them, if they're back to back,
people will watch the first one and if they don't like the first one.
I don't know.
The second one's out.
Let me see the second one gets better.
And the second one's like, okay, you got me on board.
It's harder to hold that attention for a week.
If you don't like that first episode and seven days later, you're like, I don't know,
I didn't like that last episode.
I think I'm going to stay away from it.
That happens more and more.
So I think that by doing this, and I'm not going to say it.
And the other argument is the first one is so good.
You want to watch the second one because it couples into,
into the first one so well, you're like, oh my God, I just blew my mind.
And my biggest critique, as you guys have known, if you've been watching me long enough,
has been like these shows, a lot of Marvel shows, and most Star Wars shows are so freaking
short.
The Mandalorian Season 3 had like so many like 32, 34 minute episodes, and it's like,
it just, in my opinion, you just can't build out stuff that well there.
But the rumor is that this one and two are going to almost clock in and like an
hour and 40 minutes or something along those lines. And I think each episode's like 46 minutes or
maybe one of them is 50 and one was shorter. I don't know. But either way, we're looking at
a season premiere of almost like an hour and 45 minutes. So like almost like a feature like film
for the first one. So that's that's good news. Now the question and the better news is if it will
consistently be 45 to 50 minutes per episode. And I wonder if Faloni's been listening a little bit more
to the audience because that seems to be a big complaint from a lot of people,
not just people like myself.
I think a lot of people, casual fans are like, these episodes are so short,
and they're almost planned out like animation.
And I think that with the live action, you spend more time in it,
and I think it is disappointing when they don't.
I get it, budget-wise and those types of thing,
but then focus in a little bit more in the dialogue.
When you look at that season three,
seeing that when Katie Sackoff told us about it,
about how that speech that she gave was supposed to be this William Wallace kind of rousing speech
that was cut down dramatically.
It's like, leave stuff like that in there.
Leave stuff like that in there and build out and build the dialogue.
Andor had longer episodes for the most part and stuff like that.
So if this is true and if they stay consistently with 45, 50 minutes, that's a great start.
I'm excited to see what they're going to do.
Now, the other interesting portion of it was this.
All right, this one, though, this is interesting as we shift over, staying in Star Wars,
but The Mandalorian Season 4, and this is from ComicbookMovie.com, apparently it could become a movie
as Disney is shifting away from streaming titles.
According to a shocking new rumor, Disney and Lucasfilm are currently considering turning
the Mandalorian's upcoming fourth season into a theatrical movie.
Find out why the change could happen here.
He said, Hollywood is still on strike, with no end in sight, studios are being forced to reevalue.
how they're approaching future projects.
Without writers and actors, Disney, for example, can't do much.
However, with massive release date delays inevitable, something has to give.
Making Star Wars is reporting that one of the plans currently being discussed
within Disney and Lucasfilm is for the Mandalorian Season 4 to become a movie.
Theatrical releases have become a priority over streaming,
and there are now concerns that John Favro and Faloni will be unable to make the required
two seasons of television necessary to lead into the latter Star Wars movie.
The other show is Asoka Season 2, though it's unclear what the plans are for that series.
As for the Mandalorian discussions are currently said to be centered around whether the eight episodes already written can be condensed into a single film.
If it happens, the movie would be released after the planned Ray project starring Daisy Ridley.
And before, Follone's take on air to the Empire, while a fourth season of the Mandalorian would be welcomed,
this means Follone can tell his story across two theatrical releases, the first of which both were.
would revolve around didn't.
And the report isn't 100% clear,
but it seems Flonny would helm both.
The site adds,
if the WGA strike lasts into
2024, which seems likely,
this plan could come to fruition
and seems to be the leading preference on the table.
I heard this from one of the most solid
sources ever, and I have it authenticated
by other sources and colleagues.
Bob Iger has confirmed he's looking to scale back
the number of Star Wars Marvel projects,
so the Mandalorian pivoting to big screen
makes sense. The property is
firmly established and what many argued was a bloated third season.
Plenty of you could welcome a two-hour movie in place.
I don't know how I feel about this, honestly.
I mean, it makes sense.
It does make sense from everything that they're saying there,
that you're looking at a delay with the writer strike
and you've got to make it combine, you know,
Philoni's movie, in order for it to come out in time,
you've got to be able to tell the story.
So Flonie could be, I think the play is actually having Favro direct the first one if they do it,
because that would bring you a lot of power to it leading into it.
And it's, you know, Favreau directing.
Two hours, I mean, like a two hour and 15 minute movie for this one.
I mean, all these movies are like 2.15, 220 now.
2.15, 220 of this movie, and it's the final kind of run leading.
into the big movie.
I think it would make sense.
It would make sense.
I mean, I still like having, you know, that show every week to watch,
but it would make sense if they combined it and they're able to do it.
And you know, Iger's going to want to do it because they're going to spend that kind of money
and they can spend money to go to do it, put it out on the big screen,
and they can make some money on it, and then they can put it on Disney Plus leading into it.
And then that way you get three or four movies with Star Wars.
in general, it makes sense.
There's merit to this report.
There really is.
I do think that there's, you know,
losing some of these Star Wars,
losing the series.
And I think the reason that they're doing,
they're losing is not because they're like,
oh, you'll, let's not do series anymore.
It's because you have to make it make sense
inside of the grand story.
So, yeah, I have to tell you that it makes sense to me.
And I think because of what they said also,
it's been established.
enough, right, to where
people know the mainlorian, they know
Grogo, they know all this, like, how are
they going to make that all work?
And then leading
into Filoni's movie a year later,
but then they have to really make
sure that they put Asoka
season two, so they got to really bank on Asoka
season one really resonating
with people, but not sure.
How do you guys feel about all this?
Do you think this makes sense?
Do you think it doesn't make sense?
Do you think that they should wait? Should they push
Folonies other movie back and should they put it on
Plus or should they try to
make some money with Star Wars because they
haven't had a movie out since like 2019
so then this way you're going to get
if all these movies happen
then you would get 2025
because 2026
was supposed to be when Faloni's movie comes out
so you have to probably push it back
right? So you would
assume one of two things is going to
happen either. 2025
the Ray movie comes. No no they already said
that 2026 is now the Ray movie the
beginning of the May of 2026 is the great movie so then December would be the
Mandalorian and then what may would be um pheloni's movie and then the following year
would be Mangold's movie if this plan happens this way I don't know I don't take I mean
look they didn't make any announcements this is just this is a rumor right now but like
if this even was announced as an official plan for them I know I I can't I'm it's a
bummer that I feel this way now but I'm when it comes to Lucas
when it comes to Star Wars, it's like, I believe it when I see it.
Because it's just too many times, they're like, okay, sure.
I mean, even this thing that happened recently with the Lando thing and the way that they handled
the writer, or like, oh, yeah, you're not, you're not doing that anymore.
But I'm not going to tell you, you find out through Jeff Snyder.
Huh?
That wasn't done very well.
But we'll see.
We'll see how it plans out.
I'm really curious of what you guys think.
Is this to play?
Is this the move?
Let me know what you think.
That's it for today.
It's a shorter episode.
We had a good week this week.
Thank you guys so much for joining us.
We had some fun guests.
We'll be back next week.
Monday's episode will probably be a solo one.
Tuesday is the UAPE episode with me and Riley.
Wednesday, most likely Mike Kalinowski.
Thursday will be Roxy and I think Brett's back in town.
And then Friday, either be me and by loan somewhere,
I'm going to bring in Mike.
See if Mike can do Caves and Cal's on me on Friday.
So thanks for joining me.
Don't worry.
Winston and Coy will be back.
Let's cross our fingers.
that the strikes start to windle down, dwindle down,
and hopefully that the studios realize they're being turds.
All right, thanks, everybody.
Appreciate you.
We'll see you on the flip side.
Make sure that if you haven't already done,
hit that button, subscribe to the channel.
Appreciate you, and we'll see you on the flip side.
Peace.
