now Florence Pew as Elena is in it. So what does that mean? Roxy's going to be happy, a seven star also. Great. Welcome back to the show here today. It is Thursday. And joining me on the show as- Hello. That was quick. You brought my bestie in for the show? I did. And for some reason, you can't hear me when I go on your single shot.

Now we're trying to figure that out still. But let me ask you how excited are you? So excited. She texted me last night and was like, dude, I'm going to be on tomorrow. That's your day, right? I was like, dude, yes. I did do that. There is, ladies of gentlemen. Roxy Stryer in the house here. And I was so excited because Roxy was like, because I wrote it the other day. And she does. She tells me two weeks in. beforehand. She's like, I'm not, I'm not going to be able to make it this next week so I can do a different day. So in true to form, my text proxy, they said, you in for Tuesday? She's like, no, remember I told you?

Can't do it this week. But I can do Thursday. And I would, wait a minute, Thursday. That means you're going to do, you're going to be on the show with Steph. You didn't say that. And so I'm in my mind. Right. But I last night, at two in the more, or one 30 in the morning, I was sitting there prepping for the next day. And I was like, wait a second. That's Steph's day. I've never done a Thursday show, so I don't usually think about who I'm on with or what. So I find her text, I was like, it's your day, right? It's your day. But on your glasses, let's go. Yeah, I'm trying to be you, dude, straight up. Christian, you don't know.

This is our first reunion episode since the World Girls. I figured. I figured. Because, well, we, so the funny thing is, as you found out about, you thought about it last night, the audience has been talking about it all week. And we said that it's probably, because Mike right now is, is in the lead. Mike is doing well.

I have no things to say about Mike not doing well. And I think that Mike is going to do great all week. Perfect. Blink if you're being held hostage, Roxy. Mike at 63 right now, I think is what we're trying to beat here today. Chris Carr had a major, major week last week. But Mike in the lead right now at 63 with the World Girls. And he even said it.

He's like, well, those two are getting together. I might be in trouble. So we will see. And we have quite a lot to talk about today on the show. We're going to be doing TV stuff. Roxy's good luck. Yeah, she's good, especially this story. So let's get into this main story here.

As I said, the grounded Spider-Man is what everybody's been talking about. This grounded Spider-Man, it's not going to be this big multiverse thing. It's not going to be huge. It's going to be Spider-Man doing his own thing on street level. Well, that doesn't look to be the case. Just check this out. Oh, look. It's just me.

Great. Okay, how does that work? Well, try that. We'll see if that works. Not the best, but nonetheless, here we go. Okay. Florence Pugh joined Spider-Man's brand-new day, and there are signs it's been in the works for a while.

Rumor swirling that Florence Pugh has joined the cast of a Spider-Man brand-new day as Yelena Bolova, two resurfaced interviews and a social media post lends some way to the online chatter. Earlier today, it was reported that Florence Pugh is the latest addition to the cast of Spider-Man brand-new day. the trades have yet to weigh in, but we've done some digging, and it appears that the actress will indeed appear in the movie. It's a smart move on Marvel Studios part as it gives you Elena the chance to shine in a much bigger movie than Thunderbolts before she takes center stage in Doomsday. The writing may have been on the wall for Pew Spider-Man's franchise debut for quite some time, as two resurfaced interviews receiving a lot of attention on social media this afternoon. First one comes back in 2021 when Holland shared his interest in a Spider-Man Black Widow team up, especially with Pew. two years later,

a peer revealed that she was eager for Yelena to meet Peter Parker, confirming that she was desperate to meet her fellow Brit. Spider-Man Brand New Day now features the Hulk, Punisher, Black Widow, along with the Scorpion and several other rumored villains. However, as we don't know the extent of any of their roles, it's arguably too soon to describe the movie as crowded.

What brings Spiding into contact with one of the leaders of the new Avengers? We'll have to wait and see, but this might be how Spider-Man, brand-new day connects to Avengers Doomsday. I'll get those two clips. Great. Adding further fuel to the fire when it comes to Pew's report of Spider-Man Brand New Day casting is the fact that she liked Collins Post announcing that the movie had already started shooting.

Spider-Man Brand New Day shares a title with a controversial era of storytelling, which thanks to a deal with Mephisto, saw the wall crawler get a fresh new start when his marriage to Mary Jane Watson ended and his identity became secret again. He faced many two sinister foes. Now the time was surrounded by an overhauled supporting cast, including a resurrected Harry Osborne. All right. So that's, the story itself is here to be part of this. Proxy, let's start with you.

This is, we talked about the fact that this could. Is it too crowded? Do we not know what they said? Does it make sense to put her in it right now? Or should they stick to let's just focus on Peter and what's going on? Well, first of all, Christian, pew, p, phew. Pew's everywhere. She's everywhere.

Of course you're going to be here. She's in everything. Like, come on. This is what Marvel has said to us that they're doing. I don't understand why anybody thinks that this means that this is not a street level movie. What about having Florence Pugh in your movie changed everybody's mind? Like, see, I knew they were lying. This movie is not going to be street level.

Because what? Because who said so? So I'm not surprised by this. I am excited by this. I think that we're coming off of a Thunderbolts win critically, obviously not financially, where she led the entire team. Everybody said moving forward in the MCU, she's the part that we're most excited about from this movie. So it makes sense that then they kind of get together and they're like,

who are our big Avengers moving forward? Who are, who's part of the squad that we really want to put everywhere? We wouldn't have been surprised a few years ago if we had heard that Robert Downey Jr. was going to be in this movie or that Cap was going to be in this movie because they're the big ones in the league. So it makes sense to me. I thought that the line in here was really funny about it being, it's too soon to say if it's overcrowded or not. Like, oh, the same line that we say about every comic book movie

when there's ever casting ever. Yeah, obviously we shouldn't call it overcrowded. We don't know what it's going to look like. Didn't we just learn our lesson from every other movie that we saw this year? So I think this is great and I love for, aren't you? Steph, you share the sentiment. Yeah, yeah, the Pew, Pew, Pew really got me. I like that.

Yeah, I think they've done such a great job introducing her just slowly starting I think it was like with hawk girl and then in the black widow movie and it just makes sense she's so everyone likes her she doesn't have to be a massive character because she can be more of a grounded character um just based on what her skill set is so i feel like it's not going to be a huge huge deal but i i'm excited to see her in any capacity and i feel like she's earned that as an actor and as a character. So I would be excited about that. Yeah.

I mean, look, there's, there's a part of me that says, look, I think I do lean on the, I wanted to really see that Tom Holland, Spider-Man in New York doing, being able to have the kind of movie that Andrew Garfield and, uh,

Toby McGuire had and not have to worry about the overall connecting to the overall MCU and, and put that all together and see that street level. thing. I was interested in that. However, I also understand why it is important that you have to connect the dots right now, especially before Doomsday. And as far as Florence Pugh goes, if you're going to connect those dots, yes, you should put her in there because I think they make a very valid point. As Roxy also said, we thought that Thunderbolt was a good movie, but it didn't perform as well in the box office. That also means how many eyes really got on it. A lot of eyes will be on

Spider-Man. So if they're if they're doing recruiting for the new for the new Avengers and Mackie's team is trying to get Holland her team's trying to get Holland and they have some scene that she's in it and she helps out sure in the same way that we know that Punisher and Holland are working together to try to subdue however why ever rage Hulk is running around the joint all pissed off now they're trying to figure that out maybe she gets involved in it too. So it's not a matter of, well, they shouldn't have her specifically. For me, it was like I was looking forward to a more condensed Spider-Man story, but I understand why they are doing this right now.

And it makes sense that those are the ones that they're using. We're all on the same page, Christian. We're not the same page about just two clarification questions. So whenever you go to one of us, we can't hear you. And it does the spinning circle. That just is what it is? That's right now. we're still working on it like so because we have well the new graphics like what i don't like is

that it up until yesterday when when i clicked on like for me i could interact um when i had a single shot of everybody so like you'll you'll see when i'm gonna bring you up and i'm gonna keep talking wow that's brutal man and so when i'm back here i am so i then when you come back i can't hear you for a point couple seconds so look we're still we're still working on it we got I just all stay on screen together the whole time, like a team. Well, because I like to do clips. I'll be Florence Pugh. Yeah.

You be the Hulk. Yeah. Who are you going to be? Spider-Man. I am. Okay. I don't know if I have the endurance to do, going in back and forth all the day.

We saw that photo that you posted. Looking like you got the muscles and endurance. I gave you props. I gave you props. said that I had to ask Roxy if who was as the kids say cringe. She said, no. You looked awesome. And it's awesome.

It's so inspiring. Like, come on. Yeah, it is. Somebody wants to change something about their life and actually does it. It's hard to do. It shows you where I am also because like the last two days. Yesterday is my day off. And today I'm not supposed to go to the gym.

But I had to take my daughter to the eye doctor's day. It was like a three and a half hour appointment. I'm like up and I miss it again. And I'm like, no, I need to get. I got to figure out a way to. get there now it's like a part of my lifestyle so I love it. Anyway, all right. So what do you guys make of this about Florence Pugh? Her coming back for this particular movie. We knew she's going to be back in general.

But what do you think about her coming back as Yelina in this and the fact that they're adding yet another character inside of the Spider-Man movie? Should they? Does it make sense? Do you like it? And when we get to some more casting, this is huge, because we were actually speaking about him not too long ago.

So, Severn Star, you've got a new casting inside of Spider-Man, and Tremel Tillman has joined the cast of Spider-Man brand-new day, is currently in production. Now, the details on his character remain under wraps, but he's set to join Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Zadaya M.J. Jacob, Badalone's Ned Leeds, John Bernthal's Punisher, Mark Rovelo's Hulk, Florence Pugh's Yelena, along with Sadie Sink and Liza Kolan Zias in undisclosed roles. The project was initially filmed in Glasgow before production was shifted to the UK, where filming is now continuing primarily on soundstages. A rumor has emerged that at Daniel R.P.K., that Florence Puele

will prize a role. There you go. Trades have not confirmed that yet. Shung Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings filmmakers, filmmaker, Destin Daniel Cretton, is directing the film, which is currently slated to open July 31st, 2026. Tim was best known for Severance and is up for a supporting actor Emmy this year, the first openly gay black band to be recognized in the category. Recently, he starred alongside Tom Cruise, Mission Impossible, the Final Reckoning, which was pretty damn awesome.

As a submarine captain, he's currently shooting, Lena Dunham's Good Sex and the Amazon film, Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother. your mother um wait you can't you can't hear me when i ask you questions so never mind so step um you i forget i know roxy's a major severance fan are you anything roxy's like won't shut up about i will watch because it's like she'll rarely be like no no you should watch this one because she does she knows my tastes so after like a year of pushing i want i'm obsessed and i will say like tremella is one of those characters it's like And I feel like David Johnson from Alien Romulus gave me this feeling where I was like, those two, they're absolute stars.

They should be in as many things as possible. So it is, I hope he has a massive role, honestly. I, I am so excited to. That happens sometimes with Steph in the same way that it, it, yeah, Mike's number, Mike's number one, Roxy. Steph's number two. She got the, way better. I did do a show with her for six. years.

Oh, was it going on back then with her too? She didn't have to need to blow up. I think he's such a great actor. Sorry. The wheels, the wheels got me. All of you were wheeling. Yeah,

you were frozen for quite a back. Yeah. Nice. Yeah. So it went well. It went well. I feel like I know what you said in my soul. Right.

Perfect. I'm excited about it. Yes. that much we got for sure um okay marxie you've been you've been raving about this guy forever yeah for sure um tremel's awesome i i had very similar feeling to stuff where it's wild that for those of you guys who don't watch severance there's a core four of severance and he's not one of them the way that people talk about tremel if you didn't watch severance you would think he's the star of the show right but actually season one he didn't even get that much air time and then season two

He came out so hot that he was the number one most talked about person on the show because of what he is able to do with his character. That is 100%. First of all, it's casting. Amazing job. Second of all, it's his performance. Usually I'm like, it's about the show. It's about the script. That's not on the page.

He has come up with a character that is so interesting. And he did the same exact thing, Mission Impossible. We're like on the page, what was unique about that character? But he makes really cool choices, which is why as an actor, I'll follow him on whatever he does. And it's exciting when my world's kind of merge like this, where my nerd world and my TV world merge, because not only is it happening with him, but Liza was cast in this too coming from the bear. So it's like having multiple TV actors make it to the big screen in a way that is really exciting for me. I always feel like they're my friends and I'm championing them.

Oh my God, you're in a Spider-Man movie. Now, there's a lot of speculation about him possibly being Norman Osborne, which I think is interesting because that's the absolute biggest character in Spider-Man that he could be. Like, if we're right now talking about his level of involvement, if it's something like Mission Impossible, he might be in one scene. So when we're saying something like he might be Norman, I guess it's possible, but I kind of hate when fans do this because now, Now that's canon in my mind. And I'm like, I don't want to be disappointed if he's man walking down the street. Right. Which could be at his level.

And I think he's huge. But I'm sure Tremel would take a role in this movie that was one scene. I could see him having that kind of. I mean, he's got, what you're describing also for Mission Impossible and Severance, which I couldn't agree with you more, is that there's a certain energy he has about him that, yes, his choices and what he makes as an actor. Absolutely. There's something about just like a charisma that he has that not everybody has. He just has that thing.

And Osborne needs that thing. The only thing that would, like there's two rumors, right? The rumor is that that's potentially who he could be. But there's also a rumor floating around that Joe Kerry is going to play Harry Osborne. So if that's the case, and it would seem that those two aren't going to match up. But again, you never know. But for the most part, I don't think that's going to happen. One of the two will be cast.

The question is who. But either way, great that they got him on board, and he's a phenomenal talent. So, all right, you guys, you like this casting, not like this casting. Put your thoughts in there. Did you watch Severance? Are you going to watch Severance? Let us know. Okay.

I'm sorry, I love Sam, but Sam's on her phone and doesn't get as much shit in there. Fair, fair. I was like this. I had a notebook. I took, I had seven pages of notes per movie. Sam takes out of her phone. People, great. But anyway, for towers, though, she did not.

And she was, she locked in for fellowship also, but she was, a spoiler, I guess, for her reaction. She was losing her mind on the second movie yesterday. So much, she already, she moved her doctor's appointment to tomorrow so she can come in to finish the trilogy. Yeah, it's so good. I mean, if it wasn't for the absolute pricks that watched movies, it was my favorite trilogy. It's it was so yeah. Yeah, yeah. I hate that you went through that because I was going through the comments.

Yeah. Yeah. You went through the comments. You saw it was. I mean, it was insane. It was brutal. It was brutal.

For someone who genuinely loved it, but just, it's like the book readers and as a fellow book reader of Lord of the Rings, it's like, I know you get, have the audacity. But it's like so weird to gatekeep on certain things that a viewer might not know. I think she made an excellent point, though, stuff too. I mean, when we're talking about it, I think she said it. She's like, I think she's going to be protected because, um, A, it's a guy and a girl watching it together. And it's a guy who's seen the movies before. Not too. Yeah.

And your fan base might be different too. Yeah. I mean, look, we got, we brought in a lot of new people with that one too. I mean, there was, there was quite a few new people that came in because of it. That's so good. But it was, but it was, but it was kind. And then we did super, we were going to, we took a break. we did Superman. I found out yesterday, which is amazing because I was going, I made this list.

Roxie was going through all the potential movies that we could do with people. And I found out yesterday that Sam has never seen the usual suspects. And I was like, oh my God. I was like, Steph, you've seen usual suspects. Yes, yes. It took me a second to realize that I had seen that because I was like, is this one that I'm agreeing? Yes, I have. Yeah, as a kid, I saw one. I was way younger but I don't remember it well it's good so it's one of the best one of the best I can picture the cover of it so I know right I didn't get Aragorn's name wrong no me me she said Christian got Aragorn's name wrong no I didn't what you talking about it's Aragorn um yeah but if you were from boston what would it be oh okay so maybe that's

it's a really hard word for me to say maybe that's what abernathy is saying saying the way you say is actually right yeah I'm right okay you know Aragore Gordon's like the one person I think my mom would like consider stepping out for. But the 80s stuff, when I went through the 80s list,

saw it as a last dragon, saw it, saw it, saw it. I'm like, okay, she's seen all that stuff. So I'm like, with Steph, I don't think Steph has seen anything from the 80s. Anything from the 80s. Right. Right. So we're going to have hot shots. I can't wait.

I'm pumped. I'm so excited. And thank God for Luke. I cannot wait. We're going to, the goal is to try to put out one reaction a day with a different crew member, at least seven days a week. Seven days a week. We're going to try to do one a day.

Wow, Christian. But what I think I'm going to do, though, rocks, is I'm going to, like, essentially record like a shit ton, right? And then once I get enough in the can, then start releasing them. channels. I mean, not all the time, but most of them do two people who have never seen it before. I like going into it going, oh, well, I have seen it. I'm excited to show a movie that I love to somebody or a movie that I've seen before that I'm curious of what they think. Maybe I didn't love it as much maybe they did. And then you talk about your personality, Christian, that is hysterical, that that's the premise. It is, right? Like, I just want to show people like movies. And like, yeah. And that's kind of like, that's kind of the idea. And it's that we talk about it afterwards. we do that and it doesn't take away from the fact that we can but we're both reviewing it afterwards i think that that's the other thing i'm looking forward to doing with everybody in the la crew

is because my new york i'm going to have three people from new york now i got my i got sam tina and my friend would call him ming the merciless he's the one i've been working with uh to do the um that got me into the gym and everything and he's going to be coming and he's actually shooting one tomorrow um they are not going to do the in-depth kind of film conversation afterwards that say like Steph and Winston and yourself and other people are going to do, that's the kind of stuff that's going to be different. You know, so we're excited to be able to put all that together. It's not taken away from the reviews,

not taking it from that of the theater reaction. So the answer to your question is I just want to have, I just want it to be a place where people just enjoy kind of, and introducing these types of movies to the audience. Because there's people like Steph who have never seen or even heard of Last Dragon or seen hot shots. And I'm like, oh, this is something I got to introduce to people, you know? Why do you want to be on all of them?

Well, initially. Is it not your schedule going to be like? It's going to be hell. It's going to be hell. Initially, and I think, I think that in order to do it first, because I think that the benefit, like, let's say the real rejects, the benefit of the real rejects is that it's called the real rejects. So that's like, that's, that's everybody. That could be, Greg doesn't need to be on it. My channel is called the Christian Arloff channel, right?

So initially if it's like, okay, let's say it's Steph and Sam, initially, where's Christian? But the more we get people acclimated with, okay, here's Steph, here's Sam. Here's this. But I also want to see a lot of these movies, too, with people for the first time. So that's another reason. How many hours a day are you going to be filming? James Gunn is now writing the screenplay for the Super We did that already. No, no, that's not the one we want. That's not the one we want, guys. We want the one where he's talking about the, where the hell is it? Hold on a second. Is that the one?

That's it. Okay, Superman. James Gunn is relieved by the movie success. He's no longer concerned with life and death of the DC brand. James Gunn has admitted that the response to the first DC movie came as a relief and explains why he's no longer concerned with the life and death of the DC brand. Check it out. They received positive reviews, 83% of Rotten Tomatoes and looks set to end 2025 as the highest grossing superhero movie with over 600 million worldwide. Blockbuster may not be $1 billion hit, but for a brand that was on life support after Flops like The Flash and Joker Folly a Doodoo, Superman's success is a big win for DC Studios. Now all eyes will be on Supergirl, Clayface next year to see what they can keep the momentum going. New interview, DC Studios, James Gunn, was as a sense of relief. he says that's all it is it's just an enormous sense of relief it's relief and then followed very quickly by excitement because superman in some ways was the proof of concept it was so hard in the same way that guardians was so so hard once you're in the groove you realize oh this is what works this is what doesn't this is where we can go with this it means now that we have the freedom to tell those other

stories in a way that's really exciting now i can just be creative and i don't have to be as concerned with the life and death of the dc brand as i was a month and a half ago as for the audience reception to Superman, Gunn is understandably pleased with how the movie has resonated. However, he doesn't intend to approach every DCU movie he takes the helm of in the same way. I feel really embraced by the audience. My feeling is that the movie spoke to people, but it also spoke to the people because there was a reason for its existence. There was this kind of kindness that spoke to people.

It doesn't mean every story I'm going to tell is a message of kindness. It just means that there needs to be a reason for the story to be told. You can't just be piling on stuff because it's the characters people like. And then we start with the super family story. yada, yada, it looks like beyond that, it seems like the gun's end game

could be justice gang related. Alas, the filmmaker is still playing quite about his plans remain in the dark when it comes to what Superman's future looks like in the DCU.

The majority remain hopeful that Brainiac could make his long-awated big screen debut, though, and there you go. All right, so let's start here with the Roxinator. You're the big DC lady.

What do you make of James Gunn's comments? That he happy, did well? that is relieved. Like, yeah, you know, remember all the stuff he was saying going into Sue Mann, where like the week before, two weeks before, three weeks before he was like,

we do not have to hit 700 mil to be a success. Everybody, everybody, it's not like, it doesn't matter. We just have to hit a single. No matter what, we're moving forward. And he was very clearly concerned, I felt like, with the box office. He kind of seemed like the only one who was predicting that this was not going to do as well in the box office necessarily as we might have initially thought when a lot of us thought this was going to be a $750 million movie. So I think that he is happy that we are at that, I think, 600 mil mark.

And I think that the digital release has done well for them. And I think that it's also smart business for him to hype this up and say he's satisfied right before Peacemaker drops tonight. And I think it's, you know, like we never hear filmmakers that are not happy when something is going well. So this was kind of like a nothing sandwich to me, but sure. Sure. I mean, I think that what you're going to get from some people is, well, of course he's saying he's happy with it. He's not happy with it. It only means $600 million.

Now, is there going to be a bit of a disappointment that it didn't do better? Of course. Does he need to say that? No. He doesn't need to say that. I think that his excitement comes from, look, it didn't lose money. It did good. And it's enough to do exactly what he said.

It's enough for us to keep moving forward. It's enough that it doesn't have the brass knocking on the organ, uh-oh, how we're going to make that money back. What do we do now? We've got to cut costs on the next one. No one cares about this stuff. Clearly people want to see where it's going next. Now, the strategy change on spending moving forward on other projects, perhaps.

Because maybe that's just an overall, the landscape stuff on how it is right now. But what do you make of these comments as you hear from James? Yeah, I think that even if he in a world didn't care, it's like you need to care a little bit because it's just how the world works. And I think that there is like a ton of pressure on superhero movies specifically on him because it's like Marvel kind of just hopes to return back to somewhere where it was. but DC is kind of trying to create an entire new view that the world has on DC movies and its characters. So, and creating like a shared universe. And I think that Superman did exactly what it needed to do, especially where we are. Like, it's hard to watch Fantastic Four in Superman two movies I really loved.

I think they're so good. And they just didn't do great, like great at the box office, which was kind of, surprising even in the space in the moment that we're living in with comic book movies. I was like I thought that word of mouth would get people to the theater, but I feel like it's going to take a little bit more for both Marvel and DC. And I get his relief. Like it just makes sense. And I'm excited for, I'm really looking forward to peacemaker and kind of what the next

steps will look like. Yeah. Uh, Roxy, have you seen peacemaker yet? Yeah, it's in my picks for this week. Oh, it is. Okay. Well, we'll get to that in a second. Because I think that that's the other thing is as he's promoting,

and that's the beauty of what he's able to do right now, right? Because he had this project in Superman a month ago, or whatever it was. And clearly, putting it out in digital did not hurt it in the box office at all. It actually, the drop wasn't that bad. So it actually wasn't a bad thing. And he's using it to promote Peacemaker. And he's using it to promote the DCU in general during his press.

He just did a whole bunch of press for Superman. Now he's doing a whole bunch of press for Peacemaker. makers so he's able to use the promoting machine on on both of them it makes sense i think the comments makes sense but yep sorry roxy yes you can hold on what did you want to ask me you might not be happy that i'm asking you this publicly but i'm going to ask anyway um what's going on with our boy jeff snider with james god i knew you were going to say that actually i don't know how i knew you were going to ask yeah have you seen all this no no can i go look oh it'll take you a month it'll I mean, he's been, he's been banned from Reddit because of it.

I know he's a ban from the subreddit, but then I heard that he was, I don't know. How do you get banned from Reddit? Reddit is like, I'm not sure how what the murder is legal in Reddit. It's like, I guess stuff, just to catch you up a little bit in that. Okay. I actually don't even know how to catch you up on the story other than Jeff has made it his personal life, vendetta and mission to share with the world that, He hates James Gunn.

Yeah, but you want to know the craziest part, Christian, is that I called Jeff yesterday. And I said, buddy, and for the audience, who doesn't know, Jeff is one of my closest friends. I love that man. I know, what's going on? And he said, I have nothing against James Gunn. I was like. He said you wanted to fight him. Oh, my God.

I'm kind of trying to catch up. You can. You can't. Okay, okay. It would take you as long to watch. All I looked up was, it's not. James Gunn and there's like a whole discourse that is people talking about it.

I mean, Jeff has tweeted that James is a liar. It's so crazy how polarizing James Gunn is, which I guess makes sense. Everyone except for like, I feel like Fikey has somehow like stayed so lovable to everyone. But

every other person, Kathleen, any studio had is so divisive. I'm just happy. I love James Gunn. I'm like such a James Gunn. I don't think. But Steph, the other thing, and I don't think Jeff would argue this. Jeff is also very polarizing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's who he is. It's who he is. And then from, from that's how my relationship began with him. My relationship with Jeff Snyder began when we were writing, I've told this story before, but we were writing in 2014, we launched the Shmows No website.

I was getting a lot of information from old contacts that I had when I was working at Silver and people that I knew in the business. And I was getting a lot of scoops. I got word they were working on a Beetlejuice sequel back then. I got word that the Magnificent Seven cast, all of these things. And we essentially broke stories in the way that Jeff Snyder breaks them now. he hears something he does a little bit of a look around then he then he lets it lose on his newsletter back then he worked for it whether it was variety or holly report i can't remember who he worked for a rap i don't remember everybody but at that point he was going off on us because he's like who are these people he thought we were like some bloggers in the middle of like the kansas city basement nothing is kansas city but um and he's like and so he was going after us saying these guys and just and i got and i reached out to my friend toby ashore and i go i go i go because I saw we had mutual friends on,

because he, like, blocked us on, on Twitter and all that. I'm like, who the hell is this guy? It's losing this freaking mind over the fact we're writing on Mark Riley. He's like, who's this? What's happening? You guys got destroying me because I posted a thing. Because we beat them because they had, we're working on these scoops for a bit and we beat them to the punch and they were

pissed. So he went after us and was like, you know, saying all this stuff about us. And I'm like, I reached out to Toby and I go, who is this guy? He's like, oh, I know him. He said, you want me to set something up? He's a good guy. He's not like it doesn't seem like a good guy. Seems like an asshole.

And so Jeff. It's so crazy. It's so true about him. And so then Jeff and I got together. And he goes, well, let's, he goes, let's meet. We met at this place in Westwood, this pizza place. And we sat down. We had a conversation for like, it was over an hour, hour and a half.

And we just, I was like, this guy, he's a Boston guy. I get him. And then by the end of he's like, you want to go smoke adjoining the car? I'm like, I can. I got to go back. But he's like, he's like, But he, but he, but he was, you know, and then ever since then I'm like, oh, I understand who this is. Problem with Jeff and he says it along.

It's his temper. And his hands should be chopped off when it comes to social media. It's really wild. Although it's helped him like blow up. I don't know what to make of it. But do you think that James Gunn knows who Jeff Snyder is? Yes. Yes.

Okay. Yeah. James Gunn, I feel like knows who most people who are talking in the space. Like he really makes that. part of his business is yeah i feel like he wants so and especially someone who's like just going at him definitely you think it's a two-sided beef it's not a one-sided beef i think it's more i think it's i think it's more one-sided with someone knowing that the other person does exist but i think it is you know like oh that guy's still yelling about and then but but either way the one thing and again jeff would

admit to this jeff jeff loves this kind of stuff i know He should have been a professional wrestler. I mean, he really should have been. That's why he thrived in the Shmode. Or a manager. he was, he was one of my favorites for a lot of time. He really was. Yeah, mine too, obviously. I mean, as much as like,

I love Draco also, I love them both, I think that at all things considered set and done, I think Jeff was my number one favorite player of all time in this showdown. Him and Mike are like truly. hysterical because Mike would like equally go into this

So the biggest loser was a show that I watched religiously with my mom as a child. It was on from 2004 to 2016. And now I never thought about the show once it ended. I stopped watching it probably after eight seasons. And now there was a doc that was just put out, fit for TV. the reality of the biggest loser. And it stars every person who was almost every person involved with biggest loser,

minus Jillian Michaels, who wouldn't be part of the doc, who is maybe the most controversial person to come out of the biggest loser, who also was interviewed by Christian Harlow for his channel, who he went in with one opinion and came out with another. So, you know, like for all the reasons that you guys are thinking, this doc was crazy. I had never thought about the controversy around this show.

show and like how what happened after people went on the biggest loser. Apparently, the vast majority of them not only gained back those hundreds of pounds, but more so than that. There was an article from New York Times about how this permanently messed up their metabolism. There was a lot of allegations that Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were giving pills to the contestants, caffeine pills, and other weight loss supplements. the doctor of the show complained that Jillian would never meet with him and when he would suggest things, she would ignore it.

Gillian is now slamming this doc. Yeah, she went after a big time. And slamming Bob Harper and this show said, I had a heart attack and she's the only person from the show who never reached out to me after being my friend on the show. Jillian came out and was like, here's proof of my text messages to you that you stopped responding to me. So I like I honestly don't know what my opinion is on all of this There were some people who came on who were like I lost all the weight And I named my firstborn child Harper after Bob Harper because he's my hero for helping me So like it was it was a really wild three part watch it's on Netflix

If you watch The Biggest Loser this is a fascinating follow up they also had the producer jadie Roth was on the show they had the producers of biggest loser They had people who worked on set they had people who were on the show they Bob Harper is in a lot of the of the dock. So if you're interested, if this sounds interesting to you, this is a must watch for people who watch the show. Yeah,

a lot of lawsuits. A lot of lawsuits already. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Next one. Love is Blind UK is better than love is blind U.S.

It is just better. The people are cooler. They actually are looking for love. Matt Willis is a buddy of mine. He is in the Cape Beck and Sale movie with me. He is just like the most amazing host in person. His wife, Emma Willis, fantastic. She's like the Ryan Seacrest of the UK.

And they do an amazing job. And I have nothing against Nick and Vanessa. I actually like them as hosts. But a lot of America does not like them as hosts. I don't see one bad thing about Matt and Emma. Everybody thinks that they like absolutely crush. And they do. They're fantastic.

I think that a lot of these couples are actually going to work out. And I'm so here for the show. It's a beautiful dating show. show. Okay. So that one is, I don't know, is that Netflix? For Freddie. Justice for Freddie, but dude, you didn't watch perfect match. He ended up with this girl in Madison. He's on different reality show stuff and he's with this other girl and I wish it was me. Next one. The other one, a lot of reality TV this week. Yeah, there's been a lot of reality, but then we'll get to the non-reality. Bachelor impaired I said put on this,

because every week that I don't put it on here, you ask me a question about it. And I hear's what I have come to the conclusion of. So for those you guys who do not know, this used to be a dating show. Bachelor in Paradise. This season for the first time, they announced the winners of the show. We're going to do competitions and the winners win a half million dollars. So it's now like very odd

because the people came for love and most of the contestants are like, we don't care about the money. And then some of the contestants are like, what? It's a half million dollars. Right. And it has made it not fun to watch at times

because I actually wanted to watch a day show. It still sucked. And now no new people come on. Like there's no dating. Now it's a competition show, but it's not, it's not as good of competition as Big Brother or Survivor or whatever. So watch the people who didn't sign up for a competition show competing and they don't care. They ruined it. They did they fix something that wasn't broken. It was this stupid it's a stupid show. And moving on. Yeah. Mark Maren Perenick was my is my favorite comedy special of the year. Wow. Wow. So, so good.

I just decided that this is my favorite kind of comedy. He, it's not just half out loud comedy. It is like very introspective, chuckled to yourself, wonder what this means for the world comedy. And he's one of my favorite comedians. It's no surprise that this absolutely worked for me. I had already referenced the Hitler bit that he did, which is a weird sentence.

But he's, he is. the way he can tie things together and circle back and whatever, why am I relating more to a 50-year-old man who has had completely different life experience? 60, but how old is he? 60. 60. Like, why is his life out?

I'm like, that's how me. That's me. Because he's like a little grump plus. And it's interesting and funny. He's so good. I love him. All right. Last one.

Peacemaker is dropping tonight. I have seen a couple of episodes. And it is extremely different from season one. So I'm very careful. How so? How so? Oh, Christian, you didn't watch this? No, not yet.

I don't have the special access to Max, even as a CCA member. They don't do it. I don't know why. That's bizarre. James Gunn has announced that he's not giving episode five, six, and seven or something like that to anybody, but they're not doing that.

So big things are clearly to come. But season one is extremely different from season two. So here are the things that I'll tell you guys about it without giving any spoilers. Season two is, everybody who's wondering how is peacemaker in this universe when he was in the DCU,

how's he going to be in DCU? Season two answers that question immediately off the bat. They look out for... In a good way? In a good way? So look out for the previously on. Okay, okay.

Decide to say, this is what happened. Okay. And for me, that really worked. We don't harp on it. We don't stay there too long. We just say, this is what we're doing and I thought that that was really smart.

Then we jump into the season and now we are part of the DCU, which you guys know, that's not a spoiler. Peacemaker's part of the DCU. And so I think that James Gunn completely rethought, what is this tonally and what is this doing for the greater DC universe? And so the stakes are higher for DC. The stakes are higher for peacemaker. He's clearly a character that Gunn cares a lot about.

it's much more emotionally driven this season. Like the first episode, I almost started crying because of some stuff that happens to Peacemaker. It is very heartfelt. It's still really funny. And it definitely worked for me. I'm not, I am extremely curious to see if the people who love season one still love season two,

at least to the point that I'm at now. So I'm really into the show. I watched it with Greg and John for, I'm watching with Greg and John for Real Rejects. And I will see. say this, our opinions across the board were not the same. Okay. About the show. So this worked for me for sure. And I don't know, because I haven't heard

anybody who's seen it, I don't know if this is going to work for people the way it worked for me. It's got one of the highest rated, uh, rotten tomato score for James Gunn. Oh, that's great. That's great. Critically, that kind of makes sense because it's so well done. I wonder how season one loved season one love season one okay great okay cool they just take a turn um I like when shows do that I don't think every season should be the exact same tonally right it's evolving and this is more about like kind of has to doesn't it because like you know yeah because you're piecing it up to a new universe kind of has to evolve a little bit all right well there you go that's roxy's tv picks make sure that you comment what have you seen in these ones

How much is the hotel room? Can I ask? Well, they, I don't know because I didn't pay for it because my girlfriend works for Disney. And so she got, they're doing construction on the hotel. So they told all of the people like, we're not trying to sell the, like, if you want to come, it's going to be. super cheap. So I think for us, I don't even know what, like, whatever it was, she wouldn't even let me pay her because it was so inexpensive. But normally that hotel is like $1,200 a night or

something. So that's why I was like, I can't say no to this. This is like a one-to-life time opportunity. That's what you're paying. That's the reason why you're paying. Right. It was so cool. Like we literally, there's nobody, there's nobody. It was like, what the hell is this? I'm paying 12. But my oldest and my wife are notoriously not early risers. I'm dumping water on their faces. That's exactly what she was like, do you want to wake up in the morning? I know that we've been out like because the night before we went out drinking.
