How's it going, everybody?
Welcome back to The Big Thing.
We're live doing a live Monday episode.
I like these Monday episodes.
I might even do Monday and Thursday.
I'm not sure yet.
Definitely Monday for now.
But we're live.
What a weekend.
Pillars of the Flower Moon had a big weekend.
The fact that that movie is three and a half hours long and it did close to the 25 million opening weekend.
Pretty damn good.
Talk about that.
What kind of impact it had?
Is it a Scorsese classic?
How many people have seen it?
I'll talk about that also.
But you saw the title.
That Marvel book, we've been talking about that Marvel book that came out of.
A lot of juicy, juicy details, guys, about what was going down with Marvel in general.
There's some stuff that, you know, the behind the scenes type drama, but there's also some stuff with like, what's canon, what's not.
We all wondered what the hell agents of Shield was and the Netflix, Daredevil and all that.
Well, Kevin Feigy addressed that.
And Kevin Feigy also addressed there are two people.
he's probably never going to work with ever again.
At least that's what we think.
So we'll talk about that.
Also, sticking with Disney,
they got a movie coming out called Star Wars.
They haven't had one since 2019.
That starred Daisy Ridley.
And everyone's like, okay, well, that's over what's next.
Well, Daisy Ridley is because she's coming back.
There's a potential, potential rumor of what the title is of the new movie.
I'll tell you what that is.
And I'll tell you whether or not you like it.
And then I want to hear whether or not you like it.
So we'll get into all of the.
of that. There's more stuff also that we'll get into on the big thing. It's me,
Christian Arnold. Thanks for joining me here today. So if you haven't already done it,
click that like button, subscribe to the channel because we are getting really close to
100,000 subscribers and we hope that you guys will join us on this journey overall.
Apple Podcasts, Spotify, anywhere podcasts are found. All right, it's the big thing. It's live. Let's do it.
Cool. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the big thing. It is my.
Monday and I hope you had a great, great weekend.
I'm excited. I'll tell you, I mean, there's a lot of reasons why I'm excited,
but there's a main reason. I'm super excited today. I don't get into it in a little bit.
But I, what I do this weekend, I just kind of hung out with the family, did some fun stuff with
the kids today. The six-year-old was, as I said, I have two funny kids.
The 11, almost 12-year-old is a little bit more like me where wants to do the performing and
we'll say, oh, I got a good bit. Here you go. What do you think about this one, right?
the six-year-old is pretty much the one who I don't care everything, I'm funny or not.
I just am.
And so she this morning, she was the class leader for the things she had to do at school.
So she's very excited to get out of the house.
So this morning, she's like, Dad, help me with my shoes.
Help me with this.
And she had these, like, leggings on.
Now, the dress and the shirt underneath, I can handle that.
No sweat.
When you start asking me to do leggings and special socks and all that, you are asking for a
My wife continuously asked me to do this and I tell her it's a bad move.
I'll do the bacon.
I'll do whatever you need me to do.
The tights, not for me.
But yet I still get designated to the tights.
So nonetheless, this morning, the tights go on and and then my daughter's trying to put on the sneakers and she's putting on the sneakers.
And she goes, okay, well, this shoe's not fitting me because of this.
And I go, all right, well, mom will help you out with that.
She's, well, no, this shoe works.
I'm like, okay.
And she's like, I can't get it on there.
The socks is a little different.
And I go, mom will help you with that.
She says, well, look, Dad, this is how you do it.
I got it. So I got my shoe.
This is it. So now you try this one.
And I go, no, I'm all right.
Mom will do it. And she goes, oh, you're not going to do this?
I go, no. She's like, well, you're fired then is what my six-year-old says.
And if I tell you that I didn't laugh, I would be lying to you because it's exactly what happened.
I laughed pretty hard.
So that's how my morning's starting on.
I'm in a good mood because my kids make me laugh.
And my other kid is just a, is just a wonderful human beings.
I love it very much. But we got things to talk about today, man. We got a lot to talk about.
So I want to make sure that you guys know that when we do it live, I already see super chats coming in.
Don't worry. I stay on. If I see the super chats coming on, I'm going to cover all the topics that I want to cover here today.
So you guys can fire in any questions. They don't have to necessarily be related to the topics that we're talking about today.
They could be if you want them to be. If you have things you want to ask.
But there's other things too. There's stuff as far as the channel goes. We're doing a live show on December 2nd.
at flappers. You want to talk about that. You want to talk about anything going on in the studio.
And generally, you have any other questions about any other topics. Fire them in. You throw them into
the super chat. I'm going to get to them at the end. I already see again, I see them coming in there.
One other thing I wanted to mention, I do see all the people that are coming in after we started to mention the new goals for Patreon.
That's patreon.com slash the big thing show. I saw some people's now when you look at it, when you go to there, people are going to ask this question because the goal right now is that when we hit 600 patrons, Mike Kalinowski is going to do a stand-up set.
Right. So when you go there right now, I go, wait a minute, there are 600 patrons.
There's six, the patron does this thing where you can follow and people will see kind of updates.
They won't get the benefits, but they can see updates of what's going on.
We're talking about the actual paid members.
So once you get, we get to 600 members, then we're going to get Mike to do that at 10,000.
When we get the 10,000, there's a flirt and flouse is going to be diving out of a plane skydiving with Jen Sturger.
We're going, we're doing.
There's a lot of different goals over there.
You should check out.
The thousand is once we get Winston to going to the Hollywood Horror Nights.
universal so there's other things we're coming up with too and it's and all the new benefits started
do these one-on-one sessions so it's great um okay so you can go over there it's patreon dot com slash the big
thing show we've already we've already jumped um significantly since we've been talking so again
i see the super chats coming in we'll get to them but let's get to topic number one and that's man
there's some there's some stuff going down in this marvel book right now this is from comic
book movie apparently there are only two people that marvel studio
Kevin Feigy would refer, excuse me, would refuse to work with ever again.
In the new book, MCU, the reign of Marvel Studios.
It's claimed that there are only two people that Marvel Studios boss,
Kevin Feigy, would flat out refuse to welcome back to the MCU.
Our buddy Mark Cassidy, by all accounts,
Kevin Feigy is a fairly laid back, affable guy who is always open to collaboration and
listening to new ideas.
But as the head of one of the biggest movie studios in the world,
he is obviously going to have to put his foot down on some things.
In an excerpt from the new tell-all book, the MCU, the reign of Marvel Studios, it is claimed that all of the actors, directors and producers that have come and go into the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years, there are only two people that Kevin Feigue refused to work with again.
Now, if you don't know, by the way, if you read, don't cheat.
But if you haven't, guess and see what you think, guessed, who you think the two people are.
before I get to it, I'm going to start reading it in a second.
I want you guys to guess in the comments who you think it is.
And don't cheat.
If you know who it is, don't comment.
All right.
So here we go.
So if the inhumans could be rehabilitated,
apparently everyone in MCU history was on Kevin's Figey call list,
except Edward Norton, the franchise's first Bruce Banner,
and Joss Whedon.
God, Sweden. Those are the two, whose agents of shield characters remained in limbo.
It's not really that much of a shocker because Norton was replaced by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner in The Avengers after reportedly becoming very difficult and uncooperative during the Incredible Hulk's production.
And Figey's didn't sugarcoat his official statement at the time.
It's just the statement at the time.
We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the role of Bruce Banner in the Avengers.
Faggy said our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need.
for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of other talented cast members.
The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble as evidenced by Robert
Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Sam Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and all of our talented
cast. As for Whedon, you might assume Fige's reluctance to welcome the disgraced filmmaker
back into the fold stems from the various allegations of unprofessional and outright abusive
behavior, but it actually has more to do with the experiences working together on agents of
shield. There are rumors that do butted heads about the direction. Weiden wanted to take the Marvel TV
Avengers spin-off. And the book suggests that Faggy wasn't too happy. Weedon's plans for the show
became it contradicted the events of Captain America, the Winter Soldier in the forward to another
new MCU-focused book, Marvel Studios, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It now says this about the other
potential projects that were in there. And this was. The timeline presented in this book,
it's specific to the MCU's sacred timeline through phase four.
But as we move forward through and dive deeper into the multiverse saga, you never know
what timelines might crash or converge.
So what they basically said is that you confirm that agents of shield and the other
defunct Marvel base shows are not canon, but they take place in a different timeline
in the multiverse.
So I guess they're canon, but they don't take place in the one that we know.
So look, there's a lot there obviously on both of those things.
I don't think it's much of a shocker when I saw those two.
And I was like, oh, who wouldn't you work with again?
And I was like, oh, well, that makes sense.
You can't work with Ed Norton again.
I mean, I guess you could.
I guess you could if you wanted to do the multiverse stuff.
That's one you might be able to see come back.
You might be able to see that comeback.
You know, but why bother when you got Ruffalo at this point?
Do you need another Hulk?
I mean, all the multiverse stuff in general, what they're going to do with Secret Wars,
maybe if he popped up,
maybe there's like an olive branch,
but as far as the,
the, um,
joss weed and of it all goes,
I mean,
that's,
that's kind of a no,
duh.
Nobody's really working with him at all right now.
And I think that,
right,
and but if it's more so,
even more so where they,
they butted heads and,
you know,
that's the thing is that they have a clear cut idea of what they want to do
with their storylines, right?
And that's,
I think that some people,
there's always this argument,
I think that we always have on,
or discussion around.
I think so too about where you guys stand with it, where we stand with,
there are people on this panel sometimes stand with it,
of how much freedom do you give directors, creators that are coming into
the Marvel in general, right?
Star Wars in general, because if there's an overall plan and you have a plan as
creator and you want people to come in and execute that plan and be able to
implement their own creative strategies behind it, that to me is the perfect plan.
And I always used like Ryan Cougler as an example.
I think during phase, whatever it was, was it three when Black Panther came out?
I mean, this guy was coming off of two big movies with Fruitvale Station and Creed.
And he had already said how much Black Panther meant to him.
And he had a good take on it.
It fit into what they wanted to do.
They collaborated on what we needed to be able to go here, here, here, and here.
As far as a winter soldier, he's going to be here.
We can make sure that we incorporate that.
that's going to lead into Infinity War, be able to do that.
And it just kind of seamlessly fit together.
There's other times that I think that they go,
that they've done now more so in phase four that I'm not a big fan of,
of the whole, well, that's a director and we like that director a lot.
Yeah, do your thing, Sam, Ramey.
Do your thing, Tyca.
It doesn't work as much for me.
I don't work for other people as well, too.
But I think that when you have that clear-cut plan in the way that they did,
and if you're going to contradict it and you're like, well, no, we needed to tie into Winter Soldier.
And he's like, no, I'm Joss Sweet and I'm going to do what I want to do.
And it's not going to do that.
Well, then, yeah, you're going to piss Faggy off.
And I think rightfully so.
Again, the Ed Norton side of it, uh, stinks that that's the case.
I really like Ed Norton.
But Ruffalo is, Ruffalo has done a really great job, I think is the Hulk.
I want to know if they're going to bring back the kind of rage Hulk.
To me, that's the Hulk I've been, I've been missing.
I like the idea that we got to hear him.
talking professor hulk and all that but i think that to me it's it's kind of run its course and i could be
i could be you know the one that's the only person thinking that i don't think i am but i don't know
very curious what you guys think about all this make sure you um you drop your comments in there
let me know for sure um yeah it's just uh that that's a lot of that stuff that went out there
and there was the other there was actually another article there too that that was in about um
what's his name vaughn was talking a lot vaughn's been talking a lot matthew vaughn and i think this is
probably from the josh harwood show again the happy sack and fuse which is a fantastic show
it's one of my favorites you haven't listened to it you should but what he did what matthew vaughan
has been doing he's been talking a lot man he's been talking to he talked on star wars and
there was a thing we didn't talk about it too the the rebooting of star wars and and other things
i guess we can talk about that in the second but he he talked about making better and fewer more
Marvel films. With X-Men First Class Kingsman and Kickass Under His Belt, Director Matthew Vaughn has done his fair share of superhero filmmaking. This is again from Dark Horizons. Now, this article that we're talking about, even though talked about from Dark Horizons, is from ScreenRant. Recently, the Helmer sat down with Screen Rant for an interview in which the topic of superhero fatigue came up. Debates still raged to this day if such a concept is real or if it is merely an easy label to slap on bad, tired, or formulaic superhero films.
Vaughn says he's somewhat hopeful about the future of the genre, thanks to both the new management at DC and a hope that Marvel will slow its role.
He says, I think at least DC is under, I think James Gunn and Saffron, they got a good chance of popping, and hopefully Kevin Feigey will go back to less is more and make less films and concentrate on making them great.
Vaughn also says part of the problem is these superhero movies rely far too much on VFX and CG animation, which stuff things up.
and makes you feel like you're watching a video game.
He says the one key exception is the Guardians of the Galaxy films
because he feels for Rocket and Groot.
He also says he was shocked by the box office results of the Flash,
which he both enjoyed and found well made.
What really freaked me out is that we talked about this quote the other day,
but I'll read it again.
What really freaked me out was that I really enjoyed The Flash.
I thought it was a really good film, and it died at the box office.
I was like, wait, hold on.
It's a good movie. What happened?
I don't know whether this was superhero fatigue.
You've just seen it done.
So even now that we've made it well,
there was some really, really complicated hard and quite special unique filmmaking in that film,
which I don't think Mooshieti got enough credit for where they pulled off.
He actually thinks, he also said he thinks maybe we all need time off from the superhero genre,
and he hopes that there'll be something great and we'll get excited again.
I'll be honest with you guys.
There's a ton.
There's a ton in there.
Most of it.
I agree with all of it.
I mean, I really do.
I agree with all of it.
I, you're said as much.
then let's pull back on some of this Marvel stuff.
I don't think it's just the movies though.
I think it was the TV shows with all the TV shows plus the movies.
Fikey was just spread way too thin.
They couldn't tell the full narrative of it.
Narrative of it all.
That's a that was a major issue.
So that was tough, right?
And now they've pulled back on that,
but they haven't put out great movies in general.
And I couldn't agree more about the, the VFX.
And that was one of the things about the Flash,
one of the reasons.
And I'm with him.
that I actually enjoyed that movie,
but I understand that it's like anything else.
If you don't catch people like right away,
tough to get them really on board with saying it's a great movie
because we watched the stuff in the very beginning of that movie
with the CGI babies and everything too,
and it's a bit goofy.
And then when you finally get into the core of what the story is,
I think it's a very emotional and still really good movie.
But this VFX, they rely on it way too much, way too much.
and it's almost like they just
they think that that's what audiences want.
They just want, give them a little bit of a story,
give them some emotion and then just
boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,
at the very end and just pour it on, pour it on,
look at low, oh, look how cool this is.
We've seen it a million times.
It absolutely feels like a video game.
It absolutely feels like video.
I did start watching.
People have been tounding me about it.
Gen. Gen. V.
Right? Gen V. It's fantastic.
I watched episode one. It's fantastic.
Yes, there's some CGI in.
But the story, it's,
self and the characters so far. And I was worried, and again, I have only seen one episode.
It was like six so far, but I was worried in the trailer. There was going to be shocked value.
There's a couple of shock things in there, but it's relevant to the story. So they're really good
stories, really good characters. I'm already invested in the emotion. And you got to do that with
not just Marvel, but with these movies, these big movies in general. And we'll get into Star Wars
in just a bit here. But like that is one of the major issues.
issues also. So I do think there is a superhero movie fatigue right now. I do. But I also think it is
because there's the same kind of generic stuff over and over and over and over and over again.
I think it adds into the fatigue because there just hasn't been enough. It's just it's the same
stuff. Kalinowski. I don't know. Where was he? Was it on this show? No, no, it wasn't on this show.
We were doing one of our, like I was always saying, we do one-on-one sessions for the Patreon.
where there's two tiers.
At the $50 tier,
we basically do a thing where I sit down with people for half an hour
and essentially do this and have conversations with people.
There's only like 12 spots per month.
But it's been great.
I've met so many different people of it.
But we opened up a tier at the 35 where you get like a surprise person
for like 15 minutes and you don't know if it could be anybody.
You know, it's been like Steph.
It's been bread and K.
and wince everybody.
Kalinowski just did one recently.
And before I jumped off,
because I was kind of making sure
that they were in the room together,
he started giving me crap about the Aquaman
thing that I was talking about.
He was talking,
I said that it looked,
Aquaman II looks generic.
He's like,
oh, you're crazy.
It doesn't look generic.
I said,
I'm glad you think it looks good.
It looks like the same movie
I have seen a thousand times over.
And they are resting on the laurels.
of how cool Jason Momoa is.
He looks cool. He always looks cool.
I want to see the movie.
When I see the movie, I'm wanting to see it because I like watching Jason Momoa.
He's a cool dude.
He's enjoys the same.
It's been doing the same thing recently, but I still like watching them.
But the movie itself, it looks over CGIed.
It looks like the same thing.
It doesn't really different.
Oh, you've seen people go under the water before?
Yeah, I have.
And that's not really what I'm talking about.
though. I'm just talking about the same kind of generic beats on a superhero film.
And I hope I'm wrong. James Wan is the man. I hope that I'm wrong. But I'm just telling you
from the trailers that we've seen. And I don't think it's going to get a lot of people in the theater.
Same thing with the Marbles. Marvels doesn't look. Marvel's needs to rely on, you know,
the dynamic between the three actresses. Now, they can't promote. Well, maybe they'll be
able to promote. Maybe. Sag's getting back to the table on tomorrow.
guys. So I feel like there's a possibility that this thing could be over this week. I'm saying
that so much now. There's a possibility. So there is a possibility that they could promote. And that
would help tremendously, although I don't think enough to get people to go, oh, okay, let's definitely
go see this movie. I think that the trailers for that one seems more like buddy comedy. So I don't
know. I don't know. I just think that there hasn't been. That's why I agree with a lot of what
Matthew Vaughn has said so forth. I just, there's not much out there that I, that he said that I'm like,
I don't know, man, I don't know. We'll talk about that Star Wars thing in a second. Maybe we kind of tie it
into our Star Wars story. I do notice the superchats coming in, like I said, when you put the
question, and give me about any of the topics we're talking about, and it could also be about
anything off the topics. And I will get to them after I finish all the stories. But as I mentioned to you guys,
I was losing my mind last week.
I lost my mind because I got an email and I'm like, whoa, you got to be kidding.
This is awesome.
Now, I'm sure most people, I'm sure most people, but maybe I'm wrong.
Most people love wine.
Now, when I got a, and you guys know, we've been doing the pizza reviews and we're going to do more of it by like,
when I go out to, you know, dinner with my wife or you go and sometimes I'll kick back and I have a glass of wine.
we had an email about a wine sponsor and it's first leaf and i'm so excited this is one i'm telling you
watch this because you're going to love this what a deal listen to this okay i'm not going to lie

Pino noirs lately, and they sent me one of those to they customize for what you like.
Mark Riley is going to lose his mind, by the way, when he finds out that First Leaf is coming on.
And they sent me, these are the ones that I got.
Look at that.
Clearly, the last one is empty.
That's right when I got it.
Anyway, First Leaf knew exactly what to send me, because they gave me like a little quiz up top.
And they said, what do you like?
And I love them.
They make it so easy to get personalized wine delivered.
It's on my schedule.
It's right to my door.
I choose the day that my shipment comes.
I'm never stressed about missing a delivery.
And every selection is backed by first leaves 100% satisfaction guarantee.

I love it.
It's great.
And it's great being a member because you get to avoid the overwhelming feeling.
When I used to go into the aisles of the supermarkets or in the stores in general and go back and forth,
and I don't know what to get.
I'm not sure.
I know I like this.
I'm not sure if I think I like that.
I like the taste of that.
There had to be a better way.
I got the better way.
First leaf.
They match award-winning bottles to my taste,
so I get just right wines in every shipment.
It's wine exploration without the guesswork.
If you can tell that I'm excited, you're right.
I love it.
Look at these.
Look at the ones that I got so far.
I mean, really, really good.
I got the, I got some, I got some pinot.
I got some stuff from Australia.
I got, I mean, the certain, the different blends.
And I'm telling you, I'm, I'm, I'm,
I'm red. I like the red. My wife likes the white. So we made sure we got a couple different ones.
Now with the membership, this is, this is, this is, this is the one. This is the one I've been waiting for.

how much helps the show and how much you help you.
I just saw somebody in the comments go, oh, I need a relaxing week.
I can have a glass of wine.
44, 44 bucks for the, I'm telling you, these are all,
quality quality quality quality quality quality I was I've never cheered open it up an email like that

yourself and if we can secure them I'm telling you I want to I want to knock the socks off first
leave I want you guys to like hit that button get yourself that subscription and then they're going
holy molly these people just got a whole bunch of things I don't even have this much in stock
and they will but and we get them for a full year that's what we can
can do. That's the goal. Anyway, so thank you once again to first leave. I've also seen the
super chats coming in. We're going to get to all of it. But as I mentioned, Matthew Vaughn.
I mentioned that last week he had talked about this Star Wars thing, right? And so what he sent him
as far as, and I might be getting the quote wrong, I'm not sure, but it's something along the lines
of like, why we hold these characters in such regard where you can reboot Batman, you can reboot
James Bond, you can reboot all these things,
but you don't touch the original Star Wars.
How come?
And I think I get what he's talking about.
I understand the logic, right?
There's certain things, though, for me, that you just don't touch.
I wouldn't want to see a reboot of Rocky, you know?
There's certain things you don't touch.
The other reason why it's difficult is in the same way that you wouldn't necessarily right now reboot Iron Man.
right you wouldn't read i mean you could say it's multiverse whatever the hell but you wouldn't reboot
iron man right now because it's still ongoing in this timeline that they're playing with at the moment
so star wars is still playing with the same timeline so if you started rebooting it and doing new luke
and new lea and all that it's already confusing you're going to confuse the hell out of everybody
you start you know oh yeah well matthew vaughan's doing a star wars with a new laa and a new luke and they're
going to you know if if star wars stopped making things and they weren't making tv shows and they
weren't making movies and they hadn't done anything in 10 or 15 20 years and then they want to do
the outrageous shot of trying it doing it over people will lose their mind but it would be less
confusing i i'm being making very clear that i don't think it should be done but if you were going to do
it you've got to do it when there's no activity whatsoever and i'm not just talking about no activity
with movies i'm talking about activity in general because they're going to do this thing with with
Ray and they know, not that they were even thinking about doing this.
I'm just saying if you were going to do it.
So I don't know.
I just don't.
Who is this?
Who's calling me?
Stop this.
Stop this.
So anyway, yeah, it's a that that alone.
They're doing this movie with Ray.
It connects, obviously, to the Skywalker saga.
You can't reboot it.
You can't do that.
And if they were going to do it, it had to be like I said, when it's dormant.
But speaking of that movie, let's talk about this thing with,
the with with with ray there's apparently this this title there's a title apparently that was leaked
people know about well let's let's see let's see what comic book movie has to say about it all right
the new ray movie daisy ridley returning this is from comic book movie dot com star wars has the title
of charmine obeyed chinoi's rave focus movie been revealed now this is much of a rumor
very much of a rumor for the time being. The title of Lucas film and director
Sharmino Boyd-Chinoi's planned Ray-focused Star Wars movie title might have been revealed,
Mark Cassidy again. We had been hearing that Daisy Ridley might be in talks to return
a Star Wars sequel trilogy lead Ray for future projects set in the galaxy far, far away,
for quite a while. And the news was finally confirmed during Star Wars celebration back in April.
Ridley will reprise her role as Ray Skywalker for director Charmino Bay Chinoi's movie,
which will be set up a whole 15 years after the
events of the Rise of Skywalker. Plot details are still mostly under wraps, but we do know
that Ray will be a powerful Jedi master running her own training academy when we catch up with her.
Kathleen Kennedy says, what we're exploring is the evolution of the Jedi. We're moving 15 years
after the Rise of Skywalker. The First Order has fallen. The Jedi are in chaos. And the Jedi are in chaos.
There's even a question of how many exist anymore. And Ray is building the new Jedi order based on a text,
A text that she was given?
Oh, she was giving on, I guess, written text that she was given and that Luke imparted on her.
Now the title of the movie might have been revealed.
If you don't want to hear about the title might be, and scroll on.
Though we're filling this in as a rumor,
Star Wars Meg, a YouTuber, who has shared some accurate details in the past,
has heard that the Ray-focused film will be called Star Wars, a new beginning.
beginning. A little on the generic side, sure, but it does sound like something Lucasfilm would go
for in the title of a movie that represents a relaunch of the franchise on the big screen. Even if this is
accurate, there's a chance. It's simply a working title, although it might be worth noting that Kennedy
did reveal that work on this movie is further along than we realized. So it might prove to be the
official title. She says, we've been working on that film for a few years. And all of that feeds into our
overall storytelling. So we've got a point now that we've got a wonderful
writer and Stephen Knight, we're probably going to see a script in the next month and a half that we've been working on for a while, so we're getting close. That interview is back in April. So with the strikes, who knows, yada, yada, yada. Again, the strikes are, well, the writer strike is over. So writing has probably since commenced on that film. No, no offense. I know people, people will say that, uh, well, of course, like, Crystal Hoves, take a little shot at Kennedy. Um, she, she does very political statements. So I don't know if the,
the movie has been worked on for six months or it's been worked on for six years,
is she going to say what she wants to say to make people go,
oh, okay,
well,
that's probably in pretty good shape then.
But as far as the title goes,
a new beginning,
it's simple,
it's safe.
It does kind of paint the picture of what they're trying to do,
but it better be damn good with that,
with that title.
If it's a new beginning and it,
beginning stinks, then you better look out.
I like everybody involved so far, though.
I do.
I'm just wondering what they're going to do.
The Jedi and chaos.
Chaos is fine.
Just don't kill them all again.
We've done it.
They've done it already.
Let's not repeat beats of things that we've done already.
Let's do something new.
Jedi and Chaos heard doing a Jedi Academy is what we thought we were going to get with Luke
back in the day.
If we're getting it, great.
Let's get a Jedi Academy.
Let's meet all the new Jedi.
Let's see what they're going to do.
If they're in chaos, why are they in chaos?
Where are they?
Fine.
Don't kill them off.
Oh, now they're killing each other off and now there's only two left again.
Come on.
Done it already.
And no more things that blow up things like planets.
Don't do that.
We've done that already.
Let's change it up.
Let's make new stuff.
But I like who's involved.
I like everybody's involved.
Let's see how it works out.
The question is going to be, though, does it hit the May 2026 date that it's supposed to be?
We shall see.
Is the Filoni movie?
the next one after that.
And if so, what else kind of leads up into it?
Will there be something else?
Will the Mandalorian actually be a season four?
Will it be a movie?
All this and more.
As we find out more and more as it continues to move on.
It's going to be interesting.
It's going to be interesting.
But I'm very curious what you guys think about the title.
Again, if you guys are leaving comments,
if you're watching this on the replay,
make sure you comment let us know if you haven't already liked and subscribed please do that obviously
that helps out the channel tremendously and and you get more updates on things like this where we'll be
covering a lot of the different star war stuff um speaking of those types of things too i wanted to ask you
guys what you thought about this because we started we did the we did the first pizza review it did
okay did almost like 10 000 views i'll take it i'll take it um we're probably going to do
another one this week but i've been paying attention to some of these other things too and one of
someone wrote to me recently said, hey, would you have to do a video on how to make a successful
like movie YouTube channel? And I said, yeah, I would think about doing something like that.
People ask me all the time, like what they would do. Would you guys be interested if I did
something like that? It's kind of like incorporating my, my experience over the last,
man, Alice came over yesterday. We were talking about a little bit, 2008. So, you know,
a good 15 years now, been in this space. And to talk about the different things that we've done
and how to kind of build something up, would you,
guys being interested if I did a little bit, I'm totally like a five or six minute video,
something very, very short, not like a full podcast on it, but like a five or six minute
video. Um, I was thinking about kind of doing something like that and, you know, seeing how it did it.
I want to try to switch things up. It's actually one of the things I probably talk about in the
video is that the need to pivot, right? Like, you got to be able to pivot and do things and pay
attention to a way certain things are going. So, um, and I think that that's what I've been really
enjoyed that's what I love this channel the most. And out of all the channel,
I've ever done at all the things I've ever done and all the shows I've ever done.
I've loved this one the most because it's the evolution of what I've done in my career.
Plus the fact that I'm not handcuffed to anything.
If I want to try something new, I try something new.
So that's it.
All right.
I see more super chats coming in.
Throw them in there.
Let me know what you want to, what you want to talk about.
I'll be getting to them as soon as I'm finished.
I don't even think I have that much left as far as topics go.
So I'll get back to those super chats,
but then we'll call it a day.
Oh, I want to get into this One Piece thing.
This is, this came in.
And One Piece was a phenomenal, phenomenal show.
I loved it.
I didn't even, I didn't know I was going to love it as much as I did,
but man, do I love it.
I did all the reactions to it.
And now One Piece,
the director was talking about why the show succeeded.
Just, and this is Dark Horizons,
just like HBO's The Last of Us,
finally gave us a great video,
game to screen adaptation, Netflix as One Piece finally seemed to break the curse of adapting
anime into live action form. The result has been both a critically well-regarded and quite popular
series that has caught on with people have never seen the original manga or anime series back.
So why did this succeed where others like Ghost in the Shell or Cowboy Bebop fail?
Speaking to Comicbook.com, the director of the opening two episodes, Mark Jopes, was asked that
very question. He says, it ultimately came down to a combination of the show,
wacky, playful nature combined with a sense of grounded emotion underneath. Thus, it was able to
capture the spirit of the story. It's very playful. One of the freedoms that you get when you see people
and you talk to people who work within the two dimensions is that you are not high bound by three
dimensions, which means the originations of those stories sometimes burst out of the norm. They're free to
use their imaginations to go into all kinds of crazy ways because they're not highbound by being human.
I think we respond to that as readers. I think we respond to that goofiness, that kind of
oh my God, outside the box,
thinking the blue skies,
thinking that anime and manga can do.
That makes it a real challenge to adapt
into live action because we have to bring it back.
And we have to bring it back into this human form
in such a way that is true to the anime
and the goofiness of the manga and the rest of it.
But also be grounded in some kind of truth and authenticity
so that your audience says,
I'll go on this journey with these people
because even though they've got rubbery skills
and can do all these things or buggy can split himself up
into a thousand different pieces somehow.
I believe in this emotional journey and I'm interested in this emotional journey.
It falls in live with comments from the VFX artists at Corridor crew this week who suggests part of the reason it has reached beyond the anime crowd is that each show doesn't feel like anime.
Is this one piece as live action TV series or is it a live action anime?
What I'm watching here is a not a live action anime.
It doesn't feel like live action anime and if it was marketed as such, it would be disappointed.
It's a wacky fun adventure live action TV series and it's cool.
And I agree with all that.
I really do. That show is just special. It's a fun show and I agree and there's passion to it.
What I can't speak on it personally to say like this is fact, but what I've heard from people who love the series is that in the same way that I can say for Last of Us because I've played Last of Us now, it's authentic to what you fell in love with with like for The Last of Us, the game, it's very often.
There's a couple changes here and there, but it's very authentic. They didn't say, oh,
people have seen that before so they're not going to want to see it again. That's not the case.
It's the same reason why Game of Thrones changes up a bit, but still the stuff that they did follow from the books.
It was pretty much like when there's stuff happened, the red wedding. When red wedding happens,
people are going, oh my God, they did it. They did it. Oh, I remember reading that. They did it.
And people, one of these things that to answer the questions like Ghost in the Shell and these other movies and other things that they've done, they change things up.
And they go, wow, let's not do that because they've read that or they've played that already.
Let's change that up.
Let's do something completely different this time.
It's not the same thing.
It's not what we fell in love with.
And that's why one piece, I think, besides, and capturing the tone, capturing emotions, capturing the characters, capturing all that.
Not easy to do from what they did.
I thought they pulled up a very, very special show.
So I'm glad to hear it.
I'm glad to hear that there's a season two.
And from what people are saying, though, too, this is like the season one is almost like from people who have watched.
anime and read all the stuff is that this it's essentially like a prequel i'm like that's a that's the
prequel yeah it's like that's just like the kind of getting into everything that's about to go down
so uh i'm very excited to hear that it's that it's really caught on with as many people as it has um all
last thing before i get into the super chats here i do want to talk about the box office man killers
of the flower moon it did pretty well it did pretty well and again for the amount of money that this counts
that this cost, excuse me,
what the hell am I talking about?
I'm trying to go back and forth on and trying to bring up the article,
and I said the wrong thing.
I meant that for the,
how long this freaking thing is,
the fact that it made the money that it made is pretty,
pretty good.
So again, dark horizons.
Taylor Swift's the Ares Tour.
Once again,
it was the number one this week,
and it was $32 million for three days,
66% drop.
By the end of its second weekend,
it's going to have a hundred and 30,
million domestic total. That's pretty damn good. But everybody was looking at Killers of the
Flower Moon, 23 million. That's an excellent start. 209 minutes. So it opened up against Taylor Swift,
clearly a different audience. Despite the challenges of going at Swift and it being a time period
movie, it came in right on expectations and Nab Scorsese, not just some of the year's best
critical reviews, but the third film he's released with an A-minus cinema score in audience
exit polls. The only other two to go that high from him has.
been Goodfellas and departed.
Most of his works hovers in around the B or C.
Exorcist, the believer is third with 5.1, drop of 56%.
To date, it has earned 53 million domestically.
And the Paw Patrol sequel will be fourth with $5 million in the nightmare before Christmas
re-release took an impressive $4.3 million.
So yeah, this is to me a major accomplishment because I was having this conversation when I saw
it at the screening the other night.
And there was a pack screening.
I went up seeing the Directors Guild and it was this entire place was buzzing about it.
And it's,
I can't believe in someone said I should put this on the title card.
It was so good I didn't pee once because I was rivet the whole time.
I was watching it.
And people also ask you,
can you feel the length?
My father-in-law last night said,
do you feel how long it is?
And I was like,
yeah,
three and a half hours.
Like I saw somebody's reviews that said they didn't feel it.
I'm like,
good for you.
I definitely felt it.
But I was.
always invested. I was always engaged.
Now, even the other day, my wife was like, she really wants to see it, but she's waiting for Apple.
And I think that that's the other thing is that there are a couple movies similar to like Air, right?
Like Air, Air didn't do great in the theater. It did okay, but they wouldn't really expecting it to do major, because they knew they were going to have the Amazon Prime release.
And I think the same thing where they're really treating this movie in this movie, 25 million up top, it'll probably have a significant dip next week.
It's not a lot of competition, but it'll have a probably make like something like maybe eight to 10 million next week.
And it winds up leaving the theater with, let's say, anywhere between 50 and 65 million.
Nice little chunk of change and then go into what they really want to do and that's promoting it all over Apple.
And now because you've heard about it in the box office and heard that it's done well.
And then when it pops up on Apple, whenever it does, I think it's sooner than later, you probably tune into it.
It'll probably take you two days to watch it or whatever it might be.
maybe some people will watch it right away, but nonetheless, it's a big accomplishment.
And I have seen it's funny because I'm not really surprised.
I saw some people, I know Snyder didn't love it and Roka loved it.
I saw some people kind of, I mean, I'm on the opposite page on.
I love that.
I thought it was great.
But I can see, and I saw some people kind of coming out of it saying that it's boring.
I didn't find it boring.
It's definitely, it's definitely a bit of.
of a downer. There's no doubt about that. I thought some of the stuff that Roka actually said in
his tweet, I thought was accurate, but some of the stuff that I said, yeah, but that's the story
that they're telling. Um, but anyway, nonetheless, $23 million in an opening weekend,
pretty good. All right, I'm going to jump into these questions, man. Now, like I said, if you guys
I'll be taking these questions for the duration, the rest of the show. So as I'm answering them
and you want to throw in a super chat, go ahead and do it. I'll, I will stay on.
on for as long as long as we're here for it. It's totally just throw them in and let's get to it.
I'm going to start with the first one. This is from Corey Gallup. Do you have any lightsabers?
Whose would you want? I do have one. I was sent one. And it's it was Revens. It went it went
haywire on me. But I'm getting another one. I think soon. At least I think I am. I always like to get the Sith. I'd like to get Revin. I'd like to get Bain.
Malick, those old school ones.
Those are the ones I'd like to get, but I did have one for a bit.
All right.
Let's see.
That was the first one.
Thank you, Corey.
Man, this guy's the best.
Gallagos, what's up?
Caught you live, my friend.
I'm reading the MCU book, and a lot of the stories I've heard in working in post are there.
Highly recommend the book so far.
Yeah, people are raving about this book, man.
And I know that you've, that's where your experience comes in.
So you get these stories kind of validated.
It's like, oh, I heard someone tell me that.
I mean, that's always interesting, right?
then you're reading and you go, wow, that's crazy.
So I think that the more and more people are talking about it.
And when more shows like this are talking about it,
I think more people are going to tune into it, right?
And I think, and one of the things that real quick that I said I was going to talk about,
I want to make sure because I actually got an email from somebody yesterday that was pretty,
it was pretty kind.
And they were like, I actually tune into your show to get some of the updates on what's
going on with the strikes.
And what I got, I got an email the other day that said that SAG's going back to
the table on Tuesday, I feel like this is the, they can't, well, one of the things is this.
I don't think I've talked about this publicly so far. As I mentioned, I'm all on board with
everything SAG is asking for. I am, I am part of SAG. I think that they should get the deal that
they deserve. I think that actors in the same way writers are treated very unfairly by the studios.
And I think that they should fight for what they're fighting for. And I think they should
get what they want.
And I think that it far, it exceeds so much more than just, and I was at dinner with
family in New York who aren't tuned into this.
And like, oh, what actors need more money from?
Like, you're not paying attention to the actors that are trying.
These are actors who don't work a lot.
These are voice actors.
Now, these are actors that are that these are extras.
These are people who are auditioning in job to job and this whole thing.
So I'm on board for that.
What I've told you a bunch of different times that I didn't love was the way that SAG wasn't necessarily very clear with people about what they could talk about, what they couldn't.
If I've been doing this with the BFCA, part of the BFCA, I've been doing things as a critic for a long time.
So my show, when I can talk about movies and I can talk about news and I can talk about these things, but then there's people who aren't in the union yet, like Roxy Stryer, who is a paid critic for me when I'm talking about TV and stuff.
She hasn't been able to talk about any of the stuff because she doesn't want.
to she doesn't want to feel like she's crossing the line. She doesn't want to feel like she's
doing it. She doesn't, she doesn't necessarily know. So that type of stuff. I haven't been crazy
about that, but I get it. The thing that came in that I'm like, come on now. This is silly. This is
silly and you're going to turn people against you was this thing that happened on Friday where they
were like, oh, you can't dress up as actors, uh, or characters rather from struck projects. I mean,
don't dress up as Ken and Barbie for Halloween. It's like, no, don't. Don't.
don't do that. That's that you're going to turn people against you because now this that's getting
silly. That's getting silly. And I think that they realized also that the narrative because I saw there
was nobody going, yeah, that's a great move. Most people are going to know. Even Melissa
Gilbert was the president of Sagina. I'm going to say, no, don't do that. And I think they realized
you can't have that narrative turn against you because you're in the right. You're in the right for what
you want. So I think that one of the reasons like let's let's let's just get to the table now. Let's figure
this out. They want it over. We want it over. They're going to sit down. I think it's over this week.
At least I'm crossing my fingers and hoping. But yeah, Gallagos, man, as far as that book goes,
I think I might need to get it, man. I might need to get it. All right, here's the next one.
Diamond Figs. What's your opinion on the talk of Star Wars rebooting and the CGI versus
recasting of the main original trilogy characters. Appreciate you. Well, thank you. I appreciate you as
well. I talked about it beforehand. So just to reiterate, I think to reboot everybody now would be
silly and confusing. You couldn't do it. And the argument of his, well, Bond does it, Batman does it.
Yeah, but they're not in the middle of an actual timeline. They're not connecting everything with TV shows and
movies and all the stuff. And Star Wars is. You mean, not the same way that Marvel is, but they still are.
So you had a new Luke and a new Leah and all these new people.
And then Ray has a movie.
It's like which, no, but it's a different Luke that she's dealing with.
It's a different.
It's like a multiverse shit again.
It's like it doesn't, it doesn't work the same way.
But if Star Wars ever shuts down the way that it did from like 99 until 2012 and there's
nothing going on with Star Wars at all, you know, like, hey, we're bringing it back and we're
going to try to do new hope again.
We're going to try to do it differently.
Do I think it's something that should be done?
No.
but I think that if they're going to do it,
you do it that way after a long 10 to 20 year hiatus.
But I would recommend not doing it.
Okay, back to Gallagos again, my man.
Question, I showed my father-in-law, Danny Boyle's sunshine this weekend.
The score is incredible.
You, as a score guy, your top five movie scores.
Oh, I can't give you a top five.
I can just give you ones a pop in my head because the top five is just too hard.
I love, like I've been listening to John Bryan's Eternal Sunshine,
on a spotless mind also love his um paranorman score i was just listening to james horner's avatar score
which is so good um i love legends of the fall by james horner um i was just listening to
rudy from uh jerry goldsmith recently it is just so hard to many different themes i many different
stuff was it how it sure the history of violence um there i'm just thinking ones to pop into my head
up top i mean i have a whole i mean let's see if i bring up my what i
I will tell you is I'm going to bring up. I have a playlist. I just have as Fave scores and the few that kind of pop up. I'll just tell you a couple, whether it's recommended or or not. Let's see, I've got X-Men First Class, which I really love, which Mutant and Proud is a great track. The Robin Hood 2010, it's not a great movie, but the soundtrack is fantastic. Han Zimmer Time from Inception, the bathroom dance from Joker,
I have the, what is it?
I actually have the instrumental, the paparazzi by exhibit,
which was in the Soprano season one.
Portals by Alan Sylvestery,
little secret power of the sun,
which is the John Otman Superman thing.
Those are just a couple of them in there.
Okay, thank you for that.
That was a great question.
I love that question.
Next question here.
Thank you so much.
Town Mat 12.
It's very kind.
Hey, man, just started watching the show about three months ago.
I'm at work. I just want to say, thanks for all the entertainment you've given us. Any plans
to have Chris Carr and more? Yes, absolutely. So I've been fairly vocal about it, but not,
not too vocal, not as vocal as others, which again, I applaud the others that have talked
about the cast situation. Cast media was where we were with on, on ads and essentially what the
clip notes version of it was. A lot of ads got booked and all the creators didn't get paid for.
Not by the sponsors themselves,
but by this company in CAST.
I got hit pretty hard,
enough so where I was just basically now kind of coming back
and trying to get even.
I still all myself stuff from during that time.
I kind of catch up with people in general.
So what I didn't want to do is Chris Carno
and I have talked about her coming in,
doing more spots recently and weekly,
but I want to make sure that I can,
that I'm in the position.
where I can offer someone to do that.
So she comes in,
she has guest appearances here and there.
But I'd love to have her back on.
I think she's great.
I love talking her.
I think she's got a great sense of humor.
She vibes with,
with Brett and I also.
So I think there will be more.
And I think that as I try to figure out the live thing to more of,
if I'm going to do one or two,
which I saw another questions coming in as one of the reasons why I've got to be,
I'm focusing in,
I have a plan right now.
and I want to make sure that I stick to it.
And Chris Carr would definitely be part of that plan as well, too.
She's just great.
She's great.
Okay.
Keep them coming, guys.
As I will go through it, and like I said, I'll stay on for as long as I can.
Mike Joyce, did you enjoy watching the commanders lose to the Giants with Ellis?
Yeah, so my buddy, Tom Connolly, who if you have watched Grasping at Straws,
which is the pilot show that I did years ago, he played the bartender.
in that show.
And he's a Giants fan like myself.
And the Giants have been so crappy.
So he actually texted me.
He's like,
hey, man,
listen,
do you want to get together for the game?
And I was like,
I don't know if I'm going to be able to do it on Sunday.
But then I was like,
yeah,
you know what?
I'd love to because my daughter was actually supposed to go.
My youngest was supposed to go to a birthday party.
My wife was going to take her.
I'm like,
oh, why don't I just have the guys over and watch something in the studio?
Turns out that the party got canceled,
but I had asked the two of them.
So I want you come over.
and Ellis kind of rearranged the schedule to come over and do it.
I got bagels.
We sat down.
We watched the game.
We hung out.
It was fantastic.
And it was funny because I saw this Steve Gutenberg Instagram thing that I tagged the two of them on.
And it was like, and this is such a great quote.
He was walking down the street in Manhattan.
And he was talking about how he'd visited an old friend he hadn't seen in a while.
And it was so relevant to me because I just, I see Ellis a lot, but I hadn't seen my buddy Tommy in a while.
But it's like old friends that you haven't seen in a bit, call them, talk to him,
go see him. It'll make you feel great.
You know, it's just like that, that moment.
And we were, man, we were, this would Tom, myself and, and Ellis were part of this group,
uh, in this comedy group that we were from like 2000.
And I mean, I was part of it probably 2003 until like 2000.
I'd say maybe eight or nine.
Maybe yeah, around that time.
Ellis came in a little late to it, but Tommy was always part of it.
We had somebody last during that time.
And it just kind of picked up right where we left off.
And we're just kind of cracking jokes the whole time.
It was pretty great.
So, and we came into that going to Ellis, you know, you're going to win this game.
And he's like, don't say that.
Every time you say people say that, you know, you say that.
And then you'll see this.
He's like, the team that they're playing is not the best, even though they're three and three.
And then the commanders wind up losing.
So it was fun to watch.
It was fun to watch.
And it was fun to watch with those guys.
So, yeah, that was a good time.
I had a blast watching them with those guys.
Um, okay, here's another one.
Here's another one.
This is Gallagost again.
Thoughts on agents of shield, interns of shield.
So I haven't, I haven't, I watched one or two episodes.
I know season, this season's got better as they went along, but I bailed on it.
It was two network TV for me.
And it was, it was the exact opposite what I like about, like about the streaming shows.
But I will tell you, man, I know I mentioned it already.
Really digging that, um, that show the, uh, Gen V.
I'll be watching now, now that I've, it always,
that's what always happens to me i always got like all right come on watch it watch it once i watch it
i'm like now i'm gonna watch it again episode two i finished episode one last night really really
enjoyed it that's a really great show uh so far all right next question
afron gusman what's up man good morning heard you going to come out on star wars theory i'd love
to see an intellectual debate with two star wars knowledgeable punitive pun this wrestling news
what are your thoughts of seeing punk well yeah that was the thing is that i was supposed to go on
that show live and i i realize i commit myself sometimes when i can't do it today
was a school thing for my daughter that popping up then i'm fingers crossed the sag strike is going to be over
um because katy and i are filming our show on wednesday we're we're going to do like we do like the
follow-up pieces and then we have some other guests so it's very hard for me to do other shows it's
super hard for me to do other shows and i over commit sometimes and i did that um the other day
and I feel bad about it.
And I would also love to debate it too because I'm,
I'm a massive Andorffian.
He is not.
And I would love to have that conversation overall about certain things.
Like,
um,
but I just,
I don't know if I'll be able to do it because it's just,
it's so hard for me to commit to other things.
And I,
I feel bad when I do it because,
because I don't want to say nine out of 10 times,
but I'll say six out of 10 times.
Something pops up because I run my own thing.
I don't have,
um,
Like in the case of like I can't be right,
Campia has got a Jonathan Voico and he's got like a staff.
I don't have a staff.
I got Brett who helps me out.
Brett helps me out.
I don't have a staff.
I do all the editing myself.
I do everything I got to do by myself.
One of the reasons I want to build the Batron up so much.
I want to be able to bring more people in.
I want to be able to present more opportunities to people and able to do more things.
But I don't.
And what it means is it's very limited that I get in this old mindset of,
oh yeah, I'd love to do this.
I'd love to do this.
And then I can't do it because I'm like, you can't do that stupid.
You got to do Katie show.
You got to do this.
You got to do that.
And then I feel bad because they tell somebody I can do something and I can't.
So it's going to be hard for me to do other shows at the moment right now.
So wrestling is what do you thoughts of CM Punk in WWE is I know that he's been rumored to go back.
I think it's a good pop of a moment if they can get looked.
I've interviewed Phil Brooks now twice.
It's been nothing but spectacular to me, both time.
Just the guy loves movies.
I was talking about it.
Don't have a word to say against him.
I know that people, I remember before we interviewed him, like, good luck with that interview.
Not going to be good.
He's going to be a dick to you.
He wasn't.
He gave us some,
he said,
he was great.
And so much so you liked this interview.
He came back.
And he was my first interview and one of my first videos on this channel when I barely,
I don't even know if I had 20,000 subscribers on this channel.
So I got nothing to say bad against Phil Brooks.
I will say that there's a lot of stuff that CM Punk has done.
that I don't necessarily agree with.
But again, I don't know the extent of everything that happened behind the scenes and all that stuff too.
I don't necessarily know.
A lot of people think that he was done dirty by AEW at the end, right?
And I know that what I will say is I never count out the WWE working with people that they had issues with.
They went back to the ultimate warrior.
They went back with Hogan.
They went back with all these different people that they had had problems with in the past.
And business is business.
So if they can make it work and they can have them have one long run,
one more run and they shake hands and they can get them to,
you know,
do what they're going to do and kind of give them like a kind of a sweet deal,
it'll,
it'll benefit everybody if they can get it done.
I don't know if they will.
They might.
They might.
They might.
Okay.
The comments are coming in still.
I see him.
Hold on.
I will make sure that I'm going to answer all of them.
I will not leave any out.
Do not worry.
Going through.
Hold on.
And thank you to everybody who put in the super chats.
I really appreciate it.
Thank you so much.
Okay, I just answered this one.
But yeah, we'll still be going on from Mr.
Stank.
You'd be going on Star Wars Theory.
I don't know.
It's just a matter of, again,
I'm not going to commit to anybody's shows.
And the other thing, too, is I don't love going live.
Ironic, live right now.
But I told myself I wasn't going to do live anymore,
but then I was doing the live show on the other channel,
wasn't really doing anything.
I said, well, you know,
why don't I do at least one or two?
Because I do the Monday show and I do it sometimes by myself.
And I was like, it might and it actually does,
it does two things.
It allows me to interact with you guys more in a one-on-one basis to get kind of the ideas.
I see as so many different people that are constantly supporting this channel and having
the conversations and doing one of the live shows.
It accomplishes that, right?
The other thing it accomplishes to is it makes Monday for me a little bit more.
I can focus on some of the other things that I need to get done.
Right. I need to put all the rest of the SchmoDown episodes up on that freaking channel that I haven't been able to get to.
So I'll get to that on Monday because, or today, because what I do is I, I wind up normally, if I pre tape it, I pre tape it like nine or 10 in the morning.
Then I got to edit it and do everything into it.
And by the time I'm done with all that, it's like one or two o'clock.
If I do a live show, I put everything in there.
I'm done. I did this.
And then I can focus in on everything else.
can do the shmown stuff i eventually want to turn i want to create a big things clips channel that i can
just do it does well it doesn't do well just purely do it for a big things clips channel see how it does um
so yeah so that's kind of the that it's just hard for me to to commit to anything else because i'm
just so freaking busy and i don't want to i don't think it's fair to tell people hey i'm gonna do your
show and then have to cancel on it it just sucks i think from now on i'm just going to go i don't
know if i can do it um with most people because i just it's just it's just it just
hard. Okay. Next question. Ed Haskell. Great New York Giants win. It was. He was here. He was here.
So it was fun. I had home court. Home court. Uh, thank you, Ed. Ed's the best. All right. We got a couple more.
A couple more. Catherine, Dawson, Floyd. What's up? Catherine. How are you? You should definitely watch Gen V. Christian. Just before Christmas, as New York,
New York City is a famous, excuse me, you should watch Gen V.
Just before Christmas, as New York is famous for cupcakes, you could do a one-off taste test
for L.A. cupcakes. You know the problem with that, and I know, I know, I'm not a big, like,
cupcake and cakes person. Like, there's certain ones that I do like a red velvet cupcake,
that I do love. But I'm not, I feel like for me, I can dive deep into talking about what I like
about pizza and maybe even burgers or hot dogs, or those times.
types of things like but when it comes to cupcakes I don't know when
anyone will want to listen to me about it but it's it's something that's that's
an interesting common concept for sure but yeah New York is very
famous for cupcakes there's no doubt about that and thank you so much and
Catherine yes I will be watching I'm gonna finish Gen B I love it absolutely
love it so thank you very much for the very kind super chat and it's very nice to
to hear from it um is that it might be it maybe it is no it isn't that's that is
wrong. Let me see. Okay, there's a couple more. There's a couple more. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
This is from Chase. What up, Chase? If I missed it, what are your five, what are your top five
Scorsese? And have you checked out the last temptation of Christ yet? I think it makes mine wild
movie. Watching it for years, keep up the great work. You know, I don't think I've ever seen it.
If I did, I don't remember. I'm not sure that's a movie you would remember. I don't know if I, I know
Willem Defoe. Yeah, I feel like me when I was younger, I saw a,
glimpses of it. I don't think I've ever seen the full thing. It would be like a new watch for me if I watched it.
Top five now. Again, this is this is just off the top of my head could change tomorrow or in five minutes if I put it on paper.
I would say Wolfel Wall Street, Goodfellas, casino, Raging Bull departed. I'm probably missing something. So I don't know. Yeah, I'd have to go back and look at that.
Um, but, but yeah, it's, but those are, those are up there.
Oh, those are all up there for me.
Thank you so much for the very nice donation.
It's very kind.
Zoo Hair Galaxy.
Hey, buddy, just saying hi and supporting the show.
Well, hi to you, my friend and thank you for supporting the show.
I appreciate that and everybody who's doing that.
No matter how you're doing it.
If you click and like and you throw in a comment and you're clicking a like and you're
subscribing to the channel, that helps.
If you're getting yourself one of those wine subscriptions,
First leaf. Come on, $44 for the amount of wine that you'd get.
And it ain't, it's good, good, good wine.
It ain't gravish. It's good.
The link is in the description now.
Please, if there's ever, if there's ever, ever sponsored there,
like, I don't know if I was going to get one of which one.
I want to find the right one. This is the right one.
Go into the, go into the link in the description and do it.
I want them to be like, holy, what?
Wait a minute. We were at this one guy and he's got eight million followers and he haven't sold a quarter of what what they did.
These guys, this big thing fan base must really love wine.
So if you can, check it out.
Oh, a couple other here.
Holy moly.
Thank you guys.
Canelia.
Hey, Chris, really cool to get the chat with you.
Really cool that you did that.
Thank you.
I've been a huge fan for many years.
Question.
Is there a story or an event you personally would like to see come to the silver screen?
Neil from Casey.
You know, thank you.
First of all,
very kind of you to say that.
It was very nice.
And it's nice to chat to you as well.
The,
I was just talking about wrestling.
So I think it's the one that kind of pops in my head.
I would love to see.
Well,
there's two.
One is the wrestling thing that I'm about to talk about.
A Vince McMahon story that is not shepherded by Vince McMahon.
And an actual be able to them to actually do a full
on story about the rise of the
WWE and how it got done in general
and all the different things, all the scandals,
everything that happened inside of it.
And maybe not even a movie.
Maybe like a freaking like,
who knows, two or three season epic event.
That would be fantastic.
I think you can do something.
You get non-wrestling fans in it.
The other one I've been thinking a lot about is
the story of that Harvard professor
that put his,
reputation on the line and was almost ousted from Harvard because of it, but then found he didn't do anything wrong.
He was investigating the UFO phenomenon in Zimbabwe.
And they were like UFOs, this taboo thing.
And then he was killed.
Well, he was killed by a car.
But I believe, and I could be misquoting this, but I believe that there were a few people on the
same day that were killed with the same name in the same exact name so i'd like to dive into
that story and see you know to screen or whatnot um very nice to hear from you thank you very much
d anthony anything geeky hey christian corey from boston here what's that man loved your pizza
review prepping for invincible season two by reading all the comics i'm on issue 28 do you plan on
doing reactions review for that show.
Um, so I need to finish season one.
And it was so funny is that I was working for that company when the season one debuted.
And I didn't watch it until after I was, had left that company.
Um, nothing against that I love Robert Kirkman and love, uh, DA and love all those people,
but I just didn't get a chance to do it because it's very busy with Schmode out.
Started watching afterwards really liked what I've seen so far.
So I need to finish it in general.
As far as reactions go, I don't.
understand how my algorithm works with reactions.
And what I mean by that is I'll do something like one piece and they did pretty good.
You know, the first one I did do like 30,000 and there each one would do anywhere between 15 to 20 and it was funded commentate and I was going to watch it anyway.
What I used to do was like immediate reactions and then I would do like a spoiler review of certain things.
I guess what I did for Star Wars.
But for Star Wars, this time I did immediate reaction.
And they had a spoiler review on the big Sith council thing,
but then I did reactions for Soka and they did pretty good.
Loki has just eaten big piles of shit for me.
And I love watching the show.
I just don't know if watching Invincible,
people come to my channel for that in general.
Not to say I won't try it,
but I might definitely do a review of it if I get to it in time.
So I have to watch it first.
reactions I don't know, but review possibly if I see it in time, if that makes sense.
Thank you again for the nice words.
And yeah, the pizza reviews, we're again, another one coming up on Friday.
I'm going to do Mulberry Street.
Oops.
Okay.
Again, thank you to everybody who's putting stuff in there.
I see that you're doing stuff.
See that you doing stuff.
I see that keeps coming in.
I'm going to keep answering them as they come in.
All right.
Connor Story.
Another, guys, thank you so much for these.
Very, very kind.
bit off topic, but I just got engaged in my birthday. Congratulations. I'm excited,
but I'm also kind of nervous, overwhelmed. Any tips for engaged merry life? Appreciate all you do.
Oh, man. Great, great question with a complicated answer. It's hard to say because I don't know
you or your significant other, but what I will say is this. You know, there's a reason why he got engaged.
Now, sometimes people will say, well, how long you've been together?
Well, I've been together for three or four years.
That was the reason why.
I got together.
I've known, I've known this person for a month.
There's no, there's no, I used to be like, well, wait a minute, a month.
I still feel that way.
It's a month.
I don't hear stories all the time.
And somebody knew when you know, you know, that's the question.
Of course, you're nervous.
Everybody's nervous.
But the question is, do you know?
If you know, then don't be, I mean, I'm not going to say, don't be nervous.
but just trust your, trust the person that you're with.
And communication, I know it's cliche.
Communication.
Communication.
It's the easiest thing to do.
And it's the easiest thing to forget.
But communication, it really is just listen, have conversations.
And again, as cliche as it is, don't go to bed angry.
That's all I got for you right now.
But congratulations.
That's, that's fantastic.
That's fantastic.
I'm very happy for you.
Aisha, hey, what's up, Aisha?
Glad you're back live, Christian.
Would you be willing to do a how to create a YouTube channel detailing channel startup
algorithm thumbnail?
Did you say that to me before I said I was going to do a movie channel?
I guess I would, that's kind of what I would include in my, in my thing.
So yeah, I'm, I'm going to try it.
Because it's one of those things that I see people doing.
And I was like, you know, I'm doing this long enough that maybe I can help people that if they're trying to do this, that I could be helpful in some way.
So if it works, it works.
And I'll give it a shot for sure.
And I would actually add that into part of the how to start a YouTube review review channel.
That would be the algorithm side of it, the thumbnails, like the interaction with fans, like those types of things.
Like I would absolutely include all of that for sure.
Thank you again.
It's just nice to see you as well.
And I think that was one of the reasons, too.
It was people like yourself and other people who I see in Gallagos and people who were at all,
all the live streams I did on the other channel.
I was like, you know, because one of the things that was tough about doing live streams over there too is that sometimes it was just like,
there wasn't really much I was talking about.
It was fun talking with everyone.
But I'm like, why am I just not doing the big thing show?
I said, just do the big thing show.
And then I'll kind of just open up the questions.
at the end of it. And I think that's been, and it's been a lot less stressful because it also serves
for the podcast. It also serves for the big thing episode. And it's, and it's part of the time that I
would be doing anyway. It's not, it's not added work. Um, and it's also like to get to interact
with everybody still. Back out Y2K. I hear YouTube constant creators playing Marvel for being too
woke. Do you agree that that contributes to the decline in viewership? Thanks for any of your show. I mean,
thank you for the very kind of you to say. Um,
that you're fan of the show. Look, here's the thing. There are things, I think that it becomes a
back and forth thing. I was talking about this recently on a short that I did with, um, with,
politics and how things have become political with movie fandom, right? And what I mean by that as
movies have always been political. Oh, they always have no matter, even Star Wars. Fascism and others,
it's all, it's all, they all have political themes behind. Um, but what I meant is that,
There's this divide, especially in America, with it feels like Red Sox versus the Yankees.
If you're on this team, you can't, there's nothing you can do no matter what you say.
You can't, you're, you're with us, you're against us, both sides.
And I think that there's a lot of times that there will be a side that leans on the fact of saying,
oh, well, that was done for an agenda.
That's woke.
I ain't watching it.
I think that happens all of the time.
The other side that I do think happens is I think that people feel pressured sometimes
and feel like they're going to get either ridiculed on Twitter or everything to.
So they make decisions inside of the studio system and other things that it is unfair to the people that they cast for backlash that people get.
It's unfair to particular decisions that are made with casting.
I think there are times that casting is absolutely made in the correct way.
And then I think there's other ways that they're doing it,
not necessarily for agenda, but they feel like they have to because everyone else is doing.
And that's not fair to everyone involved.
And I think there's a, there's a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it.
But I don't think that it's also to rest on, on saying, oh, well, here's why that movie
didn't work.
It's well, that's why it's going to decline.
It's like, it's just, it's a lazy argument.
It's a lazy argument.
It's like, well, what is it?
What's, what's a reason?
Like, when Sholo Medellini was in here,
here. And he talked about, he's like, look, there's sometimes that casting is just forced and it doesn't
help us. And then there's other times. And I, and he was referring to his movie with Blue Beetle, which I agree with
100%. It's, it's, it's necessary. It's purposeful. And it and there, and, and I still think that like,
people call that movie woke. And it's like, no, it's not. The movie is about a, is about a full on
Latino family, the first Latino family that is focused on in a superhero movie. It's not
woke. It's just something. Well, why they choose to tell that story? Because it's never been told
before. I mean, maybe the superhero side of it, but that, that particular story with those
characters weren't. So it's a tricky. That's not an answer that you can just say, yep,
absolutely. It's, it's a, there's a back and forth to it. And it goes back to this place that
we're in right now. It's, this back and forth political side. I hope that helps at all.
Okay. Next one. Guys, thank you so much. As I said, I'll be on here for as long as these keep going on.
I'm going to be, I'll be here, so keep them coming.
Alex, Tornay, what's up, Alex?
Hey, Christian, congrats on getting closer to 100K subscriber goal of all the content you put out.
My question is, do you think the acolyte will incorporate Darth Plagis into the story?
Be well.
It's possible.
I think you got a better shot right now at Revan.
Now, whether or not that's Canter Reeves or not in hologron form or not, I don't know.
But you got a better shot with Revin right now.
Plagus could show up at the very end, depending on what species they make him.
I would prefer if they make him immune.
That was what Lucerne had him in.
I believe that's what Lucas had originally envisioned him as.
But if they don't have his idea in that or they want to keep it so far away from
Phantom Menace and not connected at all, then you might not see him.
if they decide to do a season two of it and it kind of connects closer and closer
where maybe like a year gap,
then they absolutely could.
So there's a possibility,
but I think Revin is more likely.
And thank you very much, Alex.
I appreciate it.
Yeah, we're getting closer.
Remember, we're almost at 100K.
So I always ask people to like and subscribe on the channel when they fill in for the first time.
So there's another one.
Man, you guys are crushing today.
Tell B.
Why. Hey, Christian, thanks so much for all the content over the years. I can't always contribute. I've
lot going on, but I watch you every day and appreciate you. Shelby, well, you said at the end,
you have been contributing every day. If you are watching and you are listening and you are,
you go comment here and you click like and you then you subscribe to the channel, you are contributing
every day. So thank you. And there's very kind of you to do that. This is what I try to tell people
all the time. Is that like, yes, we always try to tell people that if you're able to and you have,
that's why I always say about the sponsors. If you have the means to and if you have the means to,
get first leaf i'm not not kidding you if you have if you have i got some extra money in my pocket but
i'm not getting it dumb if you don't have the extra money and you're holding it and you just not a
drinker and you don't like to drink wine and of course but if you have it and you're not getting it
oh you missing out on the big deal but click and likes and all those things it's uh it is super
helpful telling people about the show and all that so that's very kind of you shelby it was very
nice of you thank you uh all right tons of comments here today in general guys very active on
the channel i i really appreciate it and mike joyce coming in hot did robert denaro's monologue when
he was first arrested in killers of the flower remind you of his al capone performance the intouchables

nominated for sure i think uh denierre will be nominated i think lenae will be nominated i think
Gladstone will be nominated.
DiCaprio maybe.
DeCaprio maybe.
But those two definitely will be nominated.
Man, you guys are super active today.
Thank you so much for everybody who contributed today on the show.
Whether, again, whether Super Chad just having a conversation with each other,
anything.
And I hope that you enjoyed it.
