The Kristian Harloff Show - House Of The Dragon, Cobra Kai, Star Wars and TV Talk! - The Big Thing (Roxy Striar)

Episode Date: September 15, 2022

On today's episode of The Big Thing, Kristian and Roxy are back together talking about everything. D23 is over now but the conversation remains, is it worth it to cover the conventions or is it better... to watch the trailers and make vids at home? House Of The Dragon is still a big topic of conversation, Cobra Kai, and Roxy watched Blonde, the new movie about Marilyn Monroe and gives her thoughts. Roxy tells us what we should be watching this week on TV and more! #StarWars #marvel #shehulk #cobrakai JOYMODE: http://www.usejoymode.com/bigthing GET THE MYBOOKIE APP use the code BIGTHING https://mybookie.website/BigThing ATHLETIC GREENS: http://www.AthleticGreens.com/BIGTHING AMAZON WISHLIST: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1KPH42T0TP0PG?ref=cm_sw_em_r_un_un_djbxgIW5ZQMMg PATREON: http://www.patreon.com/thebigthingshow SCHMOEDOWN ARCHIVE CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheMovieTriviaSchmoedownArchives Ask Kristian questions for next time! https://facebook.com/harloff Become a Patreon of the Schmoedown: http://patreon.com/schmoedown OTHER GREAT CONTENT: REVIEWS https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSJdE28YyUT368qY7sfE0nKE4c04CqGvu TV REVIEWS https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSJdE28YyUT1LU-t2Z9AD5UJDiWW4pS_E STAR WARS SHOW https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSJdE28YyUT0XmfpbblkF9PY7uO2qhbN6 THE BIG THING PODCAST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSJdE28YyUT3KAwbzDsv6mdR-gwUiydQg - CM Punk Interview: https://youtu.be/R8Js8uj6GfE FOLLOW KRISTIAN + FIND HIM ON CAMEO https://cameo.com/kristianharloff https://twitter.com/kristianharloff https://facebook.com/harloff https://instagram.com/kristianharloff Learn more about your ad choices. Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, everybody, what's going on? Happy, what the hell is it? Happy Thursday. Happy Thursday. It's just Roxy and me. That's right. And what a show it's going to be today. Look in the back.
Starting point is 00:00:10 You see that screen? That's you guys. You guys did all this, man. This studio is coming along, and it is because of you, and I'll show you the white shot in just a little bit. Thank you for joining us. Got a good show. We're going to be talking about Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon.
Starting point is 00:00:24 It's got to be the best show on TV right now. At least I think it is. Roxy's here to talk about some of the other shows you should be watching, on Watch This. I'll talk about some of the stuff on D23. I know I talked a little bit about it on Sith Council as far as the Star Wars part of it, but I'll talk about it with Rocks. Some other shows, news, things that we've got coming up, expectations.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Do our expectations run too high on these conventions? I don't know. We have to see. I miss the Woman King and I'm really bummed about it. Did you see it? No. Roxy saw a blonde, which we'll talk about as well. I can say is that I got the Andor screeners.
Starting point is 00:01:02 I can't talk about it yet, but I will soon. And that's it. Make sure, by the way, if you're brand new to the channel, go ahead and subscribe, help us out, get us to $70,000 by the end of the year. That'll be nice. And we're excited, man. This is going to be a good show today, me and the Roxinator.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Me and the Roxinator, that's right. Did I ever call you that before? I'm sure I have. Yeah, I love it so much. Do you? You hate it. That's good. You don't like it.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Like a dinosaur. All right, let's, let's get to it. Let's, let's do the show. What's going on, everybody, welcome back. It is Thursday. It's the big thing, and I got, oh, damn it. I knew it. You stay right there.
Starting point is 00:01:49 You know what? What happened? Tell them, tell them things. What the fuck happened? Well, here's what I can tell you. Brett set up these cameras, so it's all his fault. Clearly, whatever happened. That's why we threw him off of the show today.
Starting point is 00:02:02 And, oh, we're getting better. I don't know if you can tell that. Yes. Also, I've got news for you guys. Apparently I have a little head because these headphones. That was me vamping and it went really well. Christian, how are you doing? I thought so.
Starting point is 00:02:16 How about this? All right, so not bad. Look at the amount of time I was able to do that. And now what you guys can also see is that. Look at it. Yes. What do you think about the studio so far, Rog? It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:02:28 It really is great. I mean, it's cool because, first of all, I feel like it just gave us, we have Christian and I have good energy day it's just rolling it's good it's I miss my friend so it's nice to be back with you and I feel like maybe part of that because of the studio like we're here, we're back in it
Starting point is 00:02:45 there's a bunch of lights yeah that's because of the people it's because of the people yeah so we had that Amazon the Amazon list is almost gone it's pretty it's pretty dry at the moment and we're so happy because look we put that out there and it was Brett's idea and he's like
Starting point is 00:03:00 going to start out there and we know what we want as far as the overall list of what we need. And if it takes us a couple of months, it takes us a couple of months. And we got these lights already. We got a lot of the covers. We got those, I mean, look at those shelves.
Starting point is 00:03:12 The shelves are great. Yeah, the shelves are sick. They're really good. What was here before? It was a... It was the book case. Like, we will... We have those...
Starting point is 00:03:20 Well, the DVD case, the Blu-ray cases. And, yeah, we had a bunch of different things, and now we're going to change it around. I know, right? And it's... Well, now it's different. And now we're changing it up. And we're constantly,
Starting point is 00:03:30 we got the screen in the back, and we got screens in front of us and it was everything. And we got the Nate lights. We got everything. So we're constantly, we're moving. Brett wanted me. Nate the Great?
Starting point is 00:03:39 Yes. Or, yeah, and we wanted to do, first rate name. First rate. We wanted to do, yeah, we wanted to do, what the hell was it? Brett wanted me to move the Sopranos poster, but I won't do it.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Why? What do he want? He wants to put more stuff back there. And I like, I like that it takes up the whole thing. Yeah, I like it. I like it too. It's different. It looks like a horse.
Starting point is 00:04:04 When you go to your closer, it looks like a horse's ass is on your head. Which pretty much is me. I'm a horse's ass. So let's talk about, you didn't get a chance to go to D23. No, nor did I look at anything, hear about anything.
Starting point is 00:04:21 It was like just not even on my radar until I texted you, you come into my movie and you said, I'm going to be a D23. and I was like D-23. You forgot it was going on. Completely forgot. Well, it was going on.
Starting point is 00:04:36 It did go on. It's funny because I actually think that the best part about it, everybody was obviously anticipating the Marvel and the Lucas film panel. And to me, the animation and the live action on Friday was hands down the best part. Easily. Is that the Little Mermaid thing? The Little Mermaid, the, what was it, the Snow White stuff, the new movie called Wish, where Arianna DeBose sang that song at the end, which was great.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Is it really a movie about a star? It's not about a star. No, no, no. There's a star in it, but it's not about a star. Fuck, Doreena, man. She told me, she said, it's about a star. And I said, it's a movie about the star. She said, when you wish upon a star, that star, that's what the movie is about.
Starting point is 00:05:22 No. There's a star in it that comes in. It's like this cute little thing that I think the star, it's, The character that area in De Bois plays is like this girl in this village, I think, who wish, the star grants wishes and stuff too, but it's not about the star. A little bit about a star. No, it's not about the star. The star is in is the, is Aladdin about the genie? Ooh, interesting.
Starting point is 00:05:48 I would say it's about Jasmine. Right, not the genie. Yeah, but what you're describing, would the star say that it's about the star? No. Oh. Anyway, but no, it's not. But it's, it's, no. But anyway, so that was one of the things.
Starting point is 00:06:07 They, they just debuted a lot of different things, and there's a lot of Disney Plus stuff, and they were on that Friday that I thought was something like, and like Inside Out, Inside Out, they come out, and they do a, what about it? They announced a sequel, like that it was Inside Out too was coming out. Amy Polar came out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yeah. Yeah. Polar came out. It's, I have, I have the announcement on. this channel rocks if you wanted to watch it. I love Inside Out. What are they going to focus on? They're going to focus on Riley as a teenager and they're going to add, they haven't said which, but they're going to add new emotions as well. What are you hoping for? I don't know. I just, what I assume is they're going to, whoever they add, it'll be some, you know, some bigger comedians like they did last time. I just don't want them to overshadow the OGs.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Did they have anxiety? I don't think so. Okay, that's a good one. You've got to add some anxiety in this bitch. Especially teenager. Yeah, right. So yeah. So, So that I thought was a big announcement. They showed the trailer, which they eventually showed to the public of Disenchanted, which is the Enchanted 2. They showed Hocus Pocus too. They showed, oh, I mean, so much, there's this a new movie with, I didn't love it, but I still appreciated that they showed it.
Starting point is 00:07:16 And that was the Jake Gyllenhauls doing this movie where Dennis Quaid is his father, reuniting from day after tomorrow, I guess. But it's like this futuristic movie, and they're on this different planet. And they showed a lot of footage from it. I don't remember the name. Forbidden, I don't remember the name. It wasn't a trailer, though? It was a big trailer that they showed, but it was exclusive, right?
Starting point is 00:07:36 But it looked okay. But still, it's just what I liked about it was new. And it was like unexpected. And I kept doing that throughout the presentation, whether it was Disney Plus or if it was, you know, Disney animation or Pixar. They had new stuff to show. And the performances, and it was hilarious, because did you see Pinocchio?
Starting point is 00:07:59 It's not good. I've heard, wharf. Brutal. And they open up and they're talking about Pinocchio and it was like someone farted in the elevator, right? It was just people, it was like, yay! Nobody cared. But they did have, who plays the Blue Fairy in the movie?
Starting point is 00:08:21 Do you remember? In Pinocchio? In the live action. Yeah. Oh, shoot. It's the bruntary. Broadway singer. Oh, Cynthia Areva?
Starting point is 00:08:27 Yes. So she opened. That's who she plays in the movie? Yeah. And so she opened the convention singing when you wish upon a star. That was great. Well, she is a star. Power.
Starting point is 00:08:40 That's what you got to use her for then. Bring her out on. Yeah, that makes sense. And it was great. And so like even that, that's what I meant. So like that, it delivered, I think, on all aspects. It just fired out. Who's there?
Starting point is 00:08:53 What do you mean? Like, I've never been to a. a D23. Is it kids? Is it use? Is it me? Everybody. Everybody. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's everybody. It's everybody. It's, it's, it's so, the way that I was talking to a few people about it was when you look at like, whether it's Star Wars Celebration, Star Wars Celebration, like, yeah, this is, because it, to me, the floor itself was, like, was way more organized and looked better than Star Wars Celebration.
Starting point is 00:09:16 When you think about it, it makes sense, because Star Wars Celebration is one property, right? Where this is all the properties. It's just like, you know, whether it's like a Comic-Con, but it's Disney's Comic-Con, but it has all their properties, and it's really organized and clean, and it was, it was pretty, it was, it was, this floor was really good.
Starting point is 00:09:37 I got some stuff for the kids, which I thought was. What did you get? So I got, Macy wanted, she was, she was very specific when I left. I said, I'm going to get you something when you should want, even something from Elena of Avalar, which is a Disney Plus thing,
Starting point is 00:09:47 or something from Winnie the Pooh. Never heard of Elena of Avalor. She didn't have kids, but it's like, Elaine of Avalar. God, but it's, well you look maybe one day uh but land of avalar or winning the poo and so i got and vivie loves avatar right so and i had seen just seen the avatar two footage so i was walking around i got into the store that they had on the floor and i had this avatar two shirt so i got that for vivi that was easy
Starting point is 00:10:11 so for masey i had to find something they had like one of these little this guy made these homemade bags and she has like all these toys and stuff so i got her at winnie the pooh like this person she's been walking around with it putting like you know her her little toys and stuff in it so Yeah, it was cute. I love when you're on daddy duty. I know. I had to be for that one. The other way,
Starting point is 00:10:29 I could not have left home. Oh, you cannot come home from Detroit, and three with nothing for the kids. No, and I'm glad that. And I got the lady something. And what I was also very happy to, and I want to make sure,
Starting point is 00:10:40 I'm glad you brought that up, um, as far as what I got, because there was a company called Rockham socks, which there was a, oh, they, they have great socks.
Starting point is 00:10:52 I love socks. Great socks. And so the guy's a fan. He's been watching for a while. And he, one of the guys over there, and he's like, hey, man, I'm going to be on the floor. She come by and I got to. And he gave me these, like, Star Wars socks, but they're Florida State stuff on it, right? And then I got, and then he was very kind.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I was going to say, you know, I'm going to get something for my wife as well. Because I want to keep a freak warm. And I got these Cinderella socks. And he's like, yeah, go ahead. And so I got him. And I told him, I was like, listen, I got to talk about it on the show. They're great, very comfortable. I'm a big sock, girl.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Because now, oh, no, they can't see my ankles anymore. No, not anymore. Remember? Yeah, it's over. All right, well. It's over for you. Right now, I'm just in simple white socks, so it didn't really matter. But he reached out to me, too, said I was going to be on the floor.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Did you say Simba? Simple. Well, you said something close to Simba. And that reminds me that they actually had, they had it. Barry Jenkins, Moonlight, is doing a Mufasa prequel. but based on like the on that same kind of live action slash animated bibs same thing that John Favre did in 2019 and they showed that the Mufasa are we going to learn where he gets remember who you are from you know it's not that same what I liked about it's not
Starting point is 00:12:12 the same story that you would think like oh okay he had to do the same thing that Simba did he like like Simba came from royalty and was walking around like Mufasa came from like nothing this is a Going to be a movie? Yeah. When? I think they said next summer. Did they, is it just announced at this? No, it's footage.
Starting point is 00:12:30 And it's already previously been announced? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They announced it before him, but they actually showed a little bit more too. And then they showed a little teaser on Snow White, which is the evil queen is Galgadote, and Snow White is Rachel Ziegler. I am, oh, yeah, I saw that she, I saw an interview with her actually saying, people were like, how would you think of the footage? And she's like, I actually didn't see it.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Right. I had to get rushed off. Yeah, that's what she said. But I, this is all new for me. But you telling me this, that I'm so off my Disney game right now, not on purpose. I just, I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:13:01 It's just not top of mind for me. Which is, again, but it just showed, but I'm telling you all this stuff, right? And you see how much information I'm giving you. That's how much they gave you on Friday. Yeah. Now, it's funny. I was thinking about this today on,
Starting point is 00:13:12 when it came to Saturday, Marvel showed a lot of stuff. They really did. And people have been giving them a lot of crap saying, You know, they didn't give the Fantastic Four, they didn't give these things that they thought they were going to give. To me, Marvel has delivered so many different times at different events, whether it is Comic-Con or these other places.
Starting point is 00:13:31 They had that event that one time in Hollywood, where they gave, when they announced Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and all this stuff, they've delivered time and time again, and they showed stuff. You know, granted, there were some things they didn't show. So even though their presentation, it wasn't probably the greatest. It was still, I think, for people that were there. or great. Lucasfilm, I think, needed to deliver.
Starting point is 00:13:54 And people are like, well, not necessarily. Yeah, they did. They have not delivered on crap. I mean, celebration was good. And celebration, I think, for people who were in there, it was fine. But this show, and I talked about it on Sith Council, the Ackylite has just been ignored.
Starting point is 00:14:09 That show's just been ignored. They're all, I don't know the difference between any of the show. So the Ackleid is the one, so you'll know a lot more. Is that Taga Luna show? No. The Ackleid is the one from, Russian doll, Leslie Headland. Oh.
Starting point is 00:14:23 So she's the showrunner? She's the showrunner. And it's with Amandaa Stemberg. Oh, yeah, yeah. And I didn't know that they were in a Star Wars show. Yes. And so they also showed, they also announced that the lead from Squid Game is also. Oh, Li Zhengze.
Starting point is 00:14:46 It's also in the Achaite. And then there was one other cast that was in the accolite. announced shoot from acolyte. Anyway. What's the time period? 50 years before the Phantom Menace. So it takes place. It could be like the, it's about the Sith kind of like rising up and
Starting point is 00:15:04 starting their plot. It's at least what a lot of people think. It's supposed to be a lot of Sith lore. So it's the thing I'm most excited about. So pre-Palpatine. It's right. Could be Palpatine's master, Lagas, maybe. Lagis, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Could be. I'm with it. Right. But a lot of people are, but the thing is, but you don't know about it. No. And it's supposed to, it was announced in 2020 during that Disney thing that came out, where they were like, okay, here's these shows that we're going to do, and the Acklead is one of those shows.
Starting point is 00:15:33 And then there's everything that I just told you, that information, that came from, like, leaks on casting from, like, Hollywood Reporter or these other things, and that was it. So I was like, okay, well, it's celebration. They're going to mention something about it. And they mentioned, like, the skeleton crew, which is John Watts, new series with Jude Law. And that, like, they already started, like, filming that.
Starting point is 00:15:54 And they did that again at D23. I'm like, okay, well, they got to give you something about the act. I'd even mention it. Like, okay, here's our casting. And it's ignored. Again. And I'm like, why are they ignoring this show? Like, what, not even mentioning it.'s like, you can say very similar to what happened with Fantastic Four.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Kevin Fige goes, all right, basically everyone's talking about Fantastic Four. But the director is confirmed. Same dude from Wanda Vision. and we don't have a cast yet. We haven't started filming it. Relax. Move on. Okay, well, we're acknowledging that it's happening.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Yeah. Say something. Nothing. Weird. Very weird. What are, just to give me like a two second, and I'm sure you guys at home are like, why the fuck does she not know what's going on with Star Wars?
Starting point is 00:16:36 I just don't. I don't know what's going on with Star Wars show. So and or coming out. Is that the thing? Yeah. Andrew comes out like that. I guess pretty sure. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:44 I can't we talk to you about that because I hear it's great. I haven't watched it yet. So that. then Accolite? No, as far as release date? Like, yeah, what do we... Accolite, we don't know yet. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:54 So right now, the way that it's going to work is as followed. The first show that's going to be coming out is Mandalorian Season 3. Andor first. Andor first, correct. So Andor comes out in the next week and a half, right? After that, then in January, actually, the Bad Batch Season 2. The animated one. Animated.
Starting point is 00:17:13 And then Mandalorian Season 3 comes out in, like, February. Then Asoka, which comes out. out in like August, which they didn't show any footage of. They did show footage at Celebration, but no footage at D23, which was bizarre. And then after that, one would assume it would be, I think it's going to be skeleton crew first, after the way that they did it. And then maybe Ackleit? I don't think Acklead.
Starting point is 00:17:35 We may not get Acolyte until 2024 at this point. So maybe that's just why they're not talking about it. Do you think that they're going to can it? I hope not. It's like, is there problems going on with it? I mean, but it's weird because like the casting has been being, leaked. They are casting it. Leaked or announced?
Starting point is 00:17:52 I think Amanda La was confirmed, and that was announced. And that was announced at celebration, but on a press line, not in the panel, which is weird. And then the other two have been kind of, I think, maybe confirmed, but not, it was weird. It's like leaked by Holly Reporter, but not officially announced. I don't remember. Yeah, it just feels strange. It feels weird. And it's, and maybe it's, maybe I'm a little biased because I'm, that's,
Starting point is 00:18:19 one I'm looking forward to the most. So you're waiting for that info. I'm waiting for something. I was like, okay, just tell me something about it. When's it coming out? And nothing. So, and I just thought it was handled weird. I also thought that whole panel on Saturday was handled weird. It's like, yes, I get that James Cameron is a legend. I get it. They closed with Avatar. Like, if you were to put your finger on the pulse right now and of the community that we're in, and I said to you, what do you think people are most excited out of these three things? Star Wars, Marvel or Avatar, rank them. Obviously, Avatar goes last.
Starting point is 00:18:51 I think between Star Wars and Marvel, you could have a little bit of a toss up. I put Marvel number one right now. I think they've earned it as far as, they're more consistent. I think that there's more, you have, I mean,
Starting point is 00:19:01 I think some people think that Marvel has kind of taken a hit as of recently. But we did just hear, I only say in terms of announcements because at Comic-Con, Marvel did show up more than Star Wars did. So I would think that people would be the most excited for Star Wars at D-23, maybe. Maybe, because maybe you get,
Starting point is 00:19:16 little bit more information, but I think that also because the way that they set it up is they thought Marvel was going to do a lot of phase six stuff, which maybe was, that's why I think the expectations maybe were a little too high on Marvel. And I think they did, they showed a lot of stuff. But anyway, so what I think should have happened, I think you lead with Avatar and you show that footage and you get people, okay, Avatar, great. Because they showed a lot of footage from Avatar. You look good? Yes, I think that, so I like Avatar. I'm, there's a lot of, too. Yeah, there's a lot of people who don't. I like Avatar, and I want to go back to that world. I felt like I went back to that world. The aspect ratio is going to get,
Starting point is 00:19:54 it's going to take some time to get used to. Like, you know when you watch it on TV and you don't change the settings and it looks like it's got that motion thing. It feels like that, but the underwater stuff is phenomenal. The music is great and all that. So, but I think you start with that. Then you go with Lucasfilm and they started with Andor, right? And then they went to Willow. Willow to me makes more sense to show at D23 than it does at Star Wars Celebration, which they did, which made no sense.
Starting point is 00:20:23 But Willow looks like a fun, I mean, fantasy series, and I understand why you would show it, and you want to hype it because it's coming out like the end of the year. And then the Star Wars presentation after that was just, I think, pretty piss poor. They showed the animated stuff that they showed already. I think Tales of the Jedi looks great.
Starting point is 00:20:42 They talked about Bad Batch, but then they just did rehash of all the other shit that they had done beforehand. And they didn't even show any Asoka stuff, no casting. It was leaked who was playing. I don't remember the actor's name, but it was leaked the day before of who was playing Ezra. And then they didn't even announce that. They didn't show any Osoka footage. They talked about the Mandalorian,
Starting point is 00:21:02 brought pretty much the same people out that they brought out last time. They showed pretty much the same thing that they showed at celebration. And then they talked a little bit skeleton crew. They didn't have anything to show because they haven't started really putting anything together yet. Jude Law talked about Star Wars, and that was it. The best part of Lucas film wasn't Star Wars. It was Indiana Jones. Does that one picture that came out, the reunion?
Starting point is 00:21:24 They showed a trailer. Oh. Oh, they showed a trailer. It looks good. I can't see it. You can't see it? Oh, the trailer, right? In general.
Starting point is 00:21:31 You're like, I can't watch it. I was like, why? No, I'm saying it was released to the public. Not yet. No, but Harrison Ford, which I also put on the channel, and if people want to see it, they can see it. It's the most emotional I've ever seen him talking about any project he's ever done.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Huh. He was legit, like really broken up talking. And what's the fleabag actresses' name? Phoebe Wallerbridge. So she's in it, and he raved about her. Talked about how important she is to the movie. And they showed a trailer, and James Mangold directed it. And I was never on board with these people who were saying that,
Starting point is 00:22:03 because Spielberg's not doing it, it's not going to be good. I think Kalanowski is one of those people. And I was like, no way. Logan, Copeland, Ford versus Ferrari. all these different things. I'm on board, and this trailer just... Sick. Oh, it feels like Indiana Jones.
Starting point is 00:22:21 That's cool. It feels like Indiana Jones. And I'm like, it was a great way to end the panel. I think that Star Wars is obviously Sinanos with Lucasfilm, but they also said we got more than that. We got Willow, we got Indiana Jones, and we hit hard with Indiana Jones. I just think that the, you know, the Star Wars was a fart balloon.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Damn, sorry. Yeah, that sucks. That is what it is. More importantly, what weird text message sound does your phone make? It's a Java. Oh. Yeah. Utti D.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Yeah. I was like, what is that? Yeah, it's been going on. But imagine how that is laying in bed. And then my wife was like, your jaw was going off again. Turn them off. Oh, can you fix your jawahs? That's right.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Well, if you guys want to fix your jaw was, I'll tell you what you got to do. You got to go and you got to get yourself in joy mode. Joy mode, they are back. And I'm so glad they're back. What you don't want to do is you don't want to get yourself on a, and I know if you're at a gas station, you're looking around, you see the people that give you the, oh, these are the ones that you should be using.
Starting point is 00:23:23 They're good for you. They ain't good for you at all. Once at the gas station, you're putting bad stuff into your bodies. You don't want to do that. Some of the stuff that's even the prescription stuff, and it ain't good for you. And what Joy Mode wanted to do is they wanted to give you like this boost. It's like a supplement, there's like a pre-workout for sex.
Starting point is 00:23:43 And I was like, all right, you know, let me see. Ain't lying. This shit's the truth, man. I'll tell you that. And it's not a matter of like, well, I don't have those problems. It doesn't matter your problems. If you have problems, it's going to help you problems. If you don't have problems, you're going to be excited.
Starting point is 00:24:00 You get yourself into a same way when you go into a gym. And you're like, okay, I need a little boost. You can get ready. You get funky. It's good stuff, man. I'm telling you. I love you. I'm so glad they're back.
Starting point is 00:24:14 And you got a code for it too. You just go to usejoymode.com slash big thing. Use joy mode.com slash big thing. Get yourself a discount. And I want you to tell me, don't be embarrassed. Tell me. Say, listen. We're using Joy Mode and you aren't lying.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Me and the significant other, we're dancing on Joy Mode. So we're glad. Usejoymode.com. Slash big thing. Do it. Let the English see you do it. You're making bedroom eyes looking at Joy Mode. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:24:47 It's, I'm telling you, Rocks. I got, what did you get? Like as if it was the hottest woman you ever seen, you were saying there, Joy mode. It's just do it. I wish it had just been your face. Are you dating anyone right now? Yes, and I didn't tell you.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Well, I mean, I haven't talked to you in like a week. Yeah, I found him. Oh, it happens that way on that. Tell me, tell me, tell me. Remember the guy that messaged me that the two people recommended this guy to me? Yes. And I was like super excited at it. And he disappeared.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Yeah. What happened? dating somebody. Oh. Found someone. And he just, yeah. Yeah. Well, see?
Starting point is 00:25:21 But he found somebody. That was my point. You said, doesn't happen like that. Oh, good for him. But I'm saying it happens. Yeah. No.
Starting point is 00:25:29 No. Hasn't. It's just like so far away. I was sitting with Steph last night at the blonde premiere and we're at the bar afterwards. Oh, in the premiere. Look at you fancy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:37 I'm very fancy person. And we're sitting at the bar afterwards, which was at Muso and Franks, which I haven't been to, that's where their after party was. which is felt right for blonde. It was very like old Hollywood. Probably exactly why they did it. Yeah, really. And it's right next to the TCL.
Starting point is 00:25:52 So it was walking anyway. So we're sitting there and, you know, guys are coming up to us. And by us, I really mean Steph. And I'm just thinking about like, it's none of you. It's none of you.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Like it's so far away from being any of you that I'm having a hard time engaging in conversation. Which sounds so obnoxious. Well, you're just a little jaded right now. Yeah. It's like this guy came up to Steph and said to her, she was wearing these like really cool design pants.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Yeah, at the after party for the premiere. And he said to her, those are crazy pants. And she said, thank you and keeps talking. And I just start laughing. I turned my back. And she's like, what? And I said, homie, that's a fucking not good way to come up to a woman. These are crazy pants.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Do you like the pants? And he's like, yeah, I like the pants. Say I like your pants. Oh, you said this to him? Yeah, yeah. I think you were talking about it after you. You love you so much. Say I like your pants. Say you look amazing.
Starting point is 00:26:47 You were that friend last night. Yeah, because it's just like, those are some crazy pants. It's not a good line. Like, come in with a compliment or something, or don't say anything about the pants if you don't like the pants. And he did not know what to do with me. He was just like. It was Seth Rogen.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Yeah, he was just looked at me and I was like, okay. And then Steph is like the nicest human being. She was like, I think he was saying he liked my pants. He just picked the, I like crazy. Crazy is a good word. And I was like, all right, sit, sit back, took my scotch. You were looking for some shit. I just, it's none of you.
Starting point is 00:27:22 It's none of you. And I know that that sounds like so judgmental. But I just, I've been at this for 31 years. I know when it's none of you, it's none of you. You're just, it was no, it was none of them last night. No. Because you were, you were not in that mood. No.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Yes. So it's not, I will tell you this. It will not be any of them when you're in this mood. I know. And I'm saying. And then what do you mean when she's in this mood? No, he's right. When anyone is in this type of, whether it's me or you,
Starting point is 00:27:51 if you are in a like, what's up, right? Everybody goes through it. Everybody goes through. But right now, you're just so jaded by all of it. I know. I get it. I've been there. My mom used to say to me, you know, the same thing I'm sure a lot of parents said.
Starting point is 00:28:07 When you look in the refrigerator and you already decide there's no orange juice, you're not going to see the orange juice. So she was saying, good looking, but not a good looking. looker, I am an awful looker right now. Like, when I'm looking around, I'm like, fuck you, fuck you. You're looking for shit. You're looking for some shit. It's just, it's no.
Starting point is 00:28:25 And I'm so annoyed. And they haven't even spoken yet. And I'm like, nope, nope, nope. Right. So it's like, even if the guy was there last night, he wasn't there. He wasn't there. Right. There's no way.
Starting point is 00:28:35 No, I get it. So let's talk about blonde, though. So the movie itself, it's Anna Darmus, who is so, not only if she's super retract. She's a very great actress. How was she in the movie? Excellent. Is she? I was, how about the accent? Okay, so I was shocked because I was expecting to like the, maybe love the movie, dislike her. It's definitely the opposite. Really? She's unbelievable in it. She does a lot of heavy lifting. The accent, at times, she nails to the point where it's shocking, but it's not all the time.
Starting point is 00:29:10 And the initial casting of Marilyn Monroe in this movie when it was supposed to be done in 2011 was Naomi Watts. She, I think, would have been, like, truly nailed that accent. And then Jessica Chastain was supposed to be after her. Probably good at it. And so when you go with Anna da Armist, you know that you're getting Honodda Armis. And so there's moments where I'm like, holy shit, this is Marilyn Monroe. And then there's moments where I'm like, oh, no, know it's on its armist because she'll slip in and out of something that I could never do any better.
Starting point is 00:29:46 But still, it's noticeable, yeah. Yeah, but she's unbelievable in it. I just kind of had to, the director came on stage to start and he was like, this is fiction. The movie I'm about to show you guys as fiction. So I, that was helpful because I was like, this isn't Marilyn, it's fiction. So what does that mean? Like what, like? So I want to get it right.
Starting point is 00:30:08 The log line of the actual movie is something like, like based in a fictional time or... So it's like, is it like what Quentin Tarantino did for Inglorious Bastards? No, because in the movie, if he hadn't said that, I would have thought they thought the movie was not fiction. So it's a fictionalized chronicle of the inner life of Marilyn Monroe is what they said. Okay. And, and I...
Starting point is 00:30:30 Is she doing fighting aliens or something? No, there is something that does look like an alien, though. This movie is almost three hours. That's too long. It was like 250. That's too long. You feel it? I felt like I was there for eight hours.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Steph turned to me at some point and said, you gotta be kidding me. We were at a premiere. You tell me how many times you've seen this at a premiere. We were at a premiere at the Chinese theater. I am sitting front and center, not front, but like primetime seats. This girl in front of me just took out her phone
Starting point is 00:31:00 and finally after two hours, scrolling, scrolling on social, just scrolling. And I laughed because I was like, I know, I feel you right now. Because the movie is grueling. It is so fucking depressing. Like, so sad. I think that some women, especially watching this, are going to be upset.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Yeah. Very upset. It was way more grueling than Spencer. I know some people were asking, like, is it similar? It was like, I, but it's beautifully done. The direction is amazing. Half it's in black and white. It's very artistic.
Starting point is 00:31:39 There's a lot of surrealism going on. But holy shit, at some point, I'm like, you know what's coming, right? We all know what happens with Marilyn. At some point, I'm like, I get why she's about to take herself out of the game. This is impossible. I can't keep watching this. Do they go with that that she, that's what happened as opposed to what other people think? Very serene.
Starting point is 00:32:01 So I don't know. Like, it kind of was like. She was killed. Yeah. It's very like open end. I don't want to give away what the end is, but there's a lot of, like, there's a lot of imagery that's flashbacks and movement and whatever.
Starting point is 00:32:18 So, yeah. But you know, the point being, you know, she dies. You know, she's not alive anymore, right? And they're taking us. Really? I think you're still here. They're chronicling us from the age of four to the age of dead. So it's like they're covering a lot of ground,
Starting point is 00:32:33 and there is not, like, one happy moment in the movie. So in a two-hour-fifty-minute movie that is like, at times it's torturous, like torturous. I think that's what they're going for, though, which is interesting. Not for three hours. Yeah. You can't do that. So look, that's good to know because I really wanted to see the film. I don't know if I'm going to watch it in a theater, for sure.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I'll tell you that much. I think that if I was able to watch it at home, I think I would have watched it like a mini-series. Like I think I would have done. Yeah. So that's the way I watch TV now. I've been watching the Marvel, the MCU with my oldest, Vivie. And we, like, it took us like two nights to watch Captain America because she's got to go to bed, you know? And that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:33:13 And that's fine. Yeah. I don't not recommend this movie because it's so beautifully made and Honit to Armis is incredible. But I would never watch it again. No. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds cruel.
Starting point is 00:33:26 You would have to tie me down. It sounds cruel. Because it was like, holy. Are we done? And then the first time I felt that, I was like, are we done? And the guy next to me had a watch on. so I kept like, and we were one hour in.
Starting point is 00:33:40 And I was like, no way. You know, you say this though. You say like that the directing was good, right? That's pacing. Pace, yeah. No, you're right. I think that he had a really interesting filmmaking style to him where it was like,
Starting point is 00:33:58 I think he made, he swung for the fences. Like he was making really brilliant choices, 70% of the time. Yeah. It's a bummer. All right. Well, look, is you tuned to that? And like I said earlier, I'm really, I've missed, this is the thing about A, being on your own,
Starting point is 00:34:16 and B, being a dad. My oldest got sick around two weeks ago, and I had to help around the house. So, like, I missed barbarian screening. And then my youngest got, I hear that's amazing. I heard it was great. And my youngest got sick. I missed the barbarian screening again. And then last night, my wife got sick.
Starting point is 00:34:37 and I had to help around the house. So I missed out on the Woman King, which I was really excited about seeing, and I missed out. I was really excited about seeing that, too. I was really bummed that I missed out on that one. This one you could see, I think, on Netflix tonight. Blonde?
Starting point is 00:34:50 I think so. I can't spend three hours watching that movie tonight. Plus, the fact, I got the screeners for Andor. I'm going to watch those. I'm going to do that too. And then She-Hulk's coming out. Did you like that last episode of She-Hulk? Was it the fifth episode?
Starting point is 00:35:02 Fourth. You've seen the fifth? No, I haven't seen the fifth. Oh, okay. By the time, by the time this comes out, the fifth will be out. Yeah. But no, the fourth one. Yeah, I did.
Starting point is 00:35:12 You didn't. No. Yeah, I liked it a lot. Did not like it. It's for me. Yeah. That's what we, yeah, we talked about that. Yeah, it's, it definitely is.
Starting point is 00:35:21 I just thought that the courtroom scene lost me. Like where. I get what you're saying. It's just like, you know, when. That was funny. It was funny. Yeah. But the difference is that it was, I need a balance.
Starting point is 00:35:31 And for me and like, I've been using this reference a lot. is that I watched Iron Man 2 recently, and Sam Rockwell and Robert Downey Jr. are in a hearing, and there's a lot of humor going on throughout it, and they're cracking jokes, but the hearing always feels real. It never feels like it's, oh, this is a sitcom, or this is a goofy, and I know that's kind of the point, is that she also supposed to be a sitcom, but it just didn't feel real, and that drunk girl Madison, whoever one loves, I think she's a great actress, and I thought she played the part really well, but just comes out of left field. Do you know everybody is saying that I'm her?
Starting point is 00:36:09 I don't think so. I'm like, thank you? I do love her though, but yeah. Maybe, maybe, no, I don't see that. I don't see that. Anyway, so if we now, well, before, you know, before we move on to the next things, I want to talk about some TV stuff.
Starting point is 00:36:26 We got a lot of TV stuff to talk about. Talking about TV, you got a lot of football coming up, guys. Football is coming up. And we're in a week two, and I know that Roxy is all about those pats. All about those paths. But look, you got the AFC West on Thursday night, though. That's tonight. And you can prepare for your winning season at MyBooky.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Now, some like the bet to earn some bet to make the season more exciting. Either way, my bookie gives you the most for your money with a double deposit bonus. So that's that promo code one more time, big thing, and you double your money up to $1,000 with MyBooky. It's only week two of NFL, which means there's a lot of time to get it on the action. Starting point is 00:37:28 I'm telling you, especially if you're putting bets on games, do it. Big thing. All right. I'm going to need to do it to make the games more interesting than the Patriots right now are Wolf City. Did you see them? What's that? The Patriots. No, I didn't see it.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Bad? We're in trouble. We're in trouble. What was the score? 24, something. It'd blow out to seven, something like that. It was bad. The Giants one.
Starting point is 00:37:59 I don't even remember what it was at the end. end. Let me see. It was bad, though. Watching it was like, uh, is Mac going to, 23 to 6. Oh, wow. That's not great. No, no, sorry. 20 to 7, 20 to 7. All right. A little better. Less 23 to 6, 20 to 7, a little better. Yeah. Not the best. Yeah. Yeah. The dolphins didn't even look that good. Um, no. And the Patriots are, yeah. I don't want to talk about it anymore. That's fine. So maybe you don't want to bet on them of my bookie. No, I just was saying that I want to use it so that I can make the games more
Starting point is 00:38:35 interesting. You should use that code, though, if you're going to do it because it's a great deal. The $250,500 thing, I was like, ooh, my therapist is going to be mad at me. Right, but it's a good deal. Use that code. But if you sign up to it, make sure you use the code. That way you get the discount. All right, let's talk about this is that time of the day where we're going to talk about
Starting point is 00:38:53 Roxy's watch this. So Roxy, basically what happens is Roxy going to give us a breakdown. of a lot of things that she has been watching, should be watching, things that are coming out, that maybe we missed, maybe that haven't come out yet, that maybe she missed and went back to revisit, whatever it might be,
Starting point is 00:39:15 she's going to talk about at the very end. I'll give a recommendation of something that I watched. So let's get to Roxy. Roxy, talk to us. Something that I bet that most people on this channel probably are interested in, of course, being Cobra Cye. I started binging Cobra Cuy on Netflix. We're on season five.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Yeah, just finished five. Ooh, gosh, I'm flying through it right now. I love this show. What season are you on? Oh, you're on five? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, okay. I've been up to date with you the whole time.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Okay. I love the show and I think that it just really, I think it's really good. And every season I'm like, well, they did it again? Damn. Especially this one because I felt the first two episodes, I'm like, oh, it's kind of like a little bit of the same. And then it just kicked into gear and, like, ended strong. Okay. I'm excited them for the end because I'm in the middle of binging it right now.
Starting point is 00:40:04 And I feel like I am not doing it fast enough, which is crazy because people are starting to talk about it. I'm like, yeah, I just had Mary Mouser on. I had Sean Kahn on. I just had the creators on. And I have a very special interview today. I'm going to, I'll tell people who it is. But I'm going to jinx it. Terry Silver himself.
Starting point is 00:40:25 No way. Thomas Ian Griffith was supposed to have today. Coming in? I'm Zoom. Damn. Yeah. Yeah. You're not going to jinx it?
Starting point is 00:40:31 We'll see. Putting that good energy out there. So I'm definitely watching that. Staying on Netflix, something that you probably aren't watching that I feel like you need to be watching. Dated and related. Have you heard of the show? What is this?
Starting point is 00:40:42 Okay. It is exactly what it sounds like. It's a dating competition show and you go on with your sibling. And it is... Did you do this with Jet? Oh my God. I would rather off myself. What do you have to do?
Starting point is 00:40:54 Okay, so the premise of the show, if you love reality TV or even if you don't and you love watching people in cringe situations, this is the show right now. It all dropped. It's on Netflix. And siblings, boy girl, girl, girl, boy, all go on the show. And they try to set each other up with the ones that they want their sibling to date. So you have to like play wingman for your sibling.
Starting point is 00:41:18 And there's really uncomfortable situations. I'll give you one example. So there's this brother-sister that are on the show. They're newer on the show because some couples come, they leave, whatever. and they get a phone call while they're on the show. They pick up, and the woman talking to them says, here's your challenge for the day. You need to convince two other guests in the house
Starting point is 00:41:41 that they need to guard the door while you bathe together. And the brother? The sister and brother bathe together. You have to try to tell people, you guys are going to go bathe. No, but you have to convince other people you are doing that while you're bathing together. So this brother's sister convinced these two guys, and one of the guys is the guy that the sister,
Starting point is 00:42:00 just really into. Hey, we're just going to go take a quick bath together. And the guys are like, what? They're like, yeah, that's part of our culture. We just, we bathe together. And you're not allowed to tell them that it's a thing. Like, you have to convince him. I was screaming, screaming, because the guys are trying to be cool.
Starting point is 00:42:16 They're like, well, part of your culture, then I don't really know, okay. Yeah, we'll guard the door if you guys want to bathe together. Like, are you sitting like this? Or what are you asking follow up questions? And I'm like crying in my bed watching it. So good. Excellent show. You've got to watch Dated and Related.
Starting point is 00:42:33 If you love reality TV, this is the next new thing. It's kind of like any of those. Netflix has really cornered the market on this, where it's like those dating show where you can't have sex for a long time. Like they do all of these weird dating shows and they're excellent. So watch that. Obviously House of the Dragon. It's the best show on TV right now.
Starting point is 00:42:55 I tweeted that out the other day. It's excellent. I think it gets better and better. It's so well written. People who think that Matt Smith is a good guy on the show, though. I'm like, what is happening? Oh, my God, there's a whole controversy on the internet being like, this guy is amazing, he does what he has to do.
Starting point is 00:43:11 And it's like the people that want him and Reneira to be together, they're like they're made for each other in love. And I'm just like, all right, incest, let's go. That's why they have that blind. That's why I have that hair. Did you know that? Yeah. That's why the Targaryans have that hair is because the line of us.
Starting point is 00:43:28 A lot of incest going on. I'm going to pitch this to you again because you just seemingly do not care about me. The patient, the patient, the patient. This is Steve Correll. The show is amazing. It is must watch television. It's only 22 minutes a week. You can't commit to that.
Starting point is 00:43:43 I can't, but I have other things I got going on. All right. And then also going back to Netflix, Untold is the series that I've been telling you guys about that I'm obsessed with. Every episode, they document a different issue in sports. and this one was Malice in the Palace, which is a very famous situation with the, when the Pistons were playing the Pacers, and the Pacers, three players, were suspended for a long time.
Starting point is 00:44:09 There was a big fight. Do you know anything about this? Yeah, of course. Yeah, right, exactly. And they had interviews with every single person. It was like, I just really well done. And you feel like all these sports stories,
Starting point is 00:44:24 even if you know them, watching the people talk. about them and how it affected their lives and like not getting championships because of brawls or whatever you feel for these people and the way untold is doing it I think is just as successful as 30 for 30 if you guys love 30 for 30 they're doing a great great job interesting okay so that's that's all we got yeah yeah what do you got so last week um on the show I had a producer Andrew freed on who was one of the producers of a chef's table and um and welcome to rexum which we talked about Loving it.
Starting point is 00:44:58 And he also did the Val Doc. He did the, we need to talk about Cosby. Ooh, that talk was amazing. Yeah, so he did all that. That's what his company did all of those. Wow, that doc was, you just named some of the top things. Yeah. We literally called him Midas the other day on the show because he's like,
Starting point is 00:45:16 he got the touch. Yes. And so he was talking about his new show that was, I would not, well, welcome, to Rexum was one of them, but the other one is chef's table pizza. And you know me in pizza. Yeah. So I went and everyone knows you in pizza. It's true.
Starting point is 00:45:30 But I, but and you know, what I said to him was it's, it's not like the New York sliced pizza is like the chefs around like the world doing smaller size pizza. So I watched the first one last night. And it's really fascinating. So it's, well, let me get to make sure that I have the, the right information on there too. Are people doing like crazy toppings or? Ish, but like, yeah, but so. The first one, let me see chef's table people.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Are they debating pineapple on pizza? Not yet anyway. But I want to make sure that I have all the right information for the first. Yeah, the first one was Chris Bianco. His name's Crispi? Chris Bianco. That's it. Not Chris Bianco.
Starting point is 00:46:16 Chris Bianco. No, Chris Bianco. And he's this dude from New York that moved to Arizona. And he dropped out of high school when he was a junior in high school. then learned how to make mozzarella and like the delis around his and around his house and then moved to Arizona and started like basically when he was younger going to the restaurants and selling the handmade mozzarella that he had made because he knew how to make it and he was selling
Starting point is 00:46:44 that but then he got involved in the restaurant business and then he eventually started making his own pizzas and he kind of revolutionized pizza you can find Bianco like tomatoes like all over the place but he goes to these markets in Arizona and he takes things from the land where he lives in, you know, near Arizona, like the, instead of, a lot of places used to go from, they would, they would
Starting point is 00:47:05 import ingredients from like France and he's, I just get it from around where I'm at and I go to the local markets and he, and there's one pizza that actually has like a desert type taste and feel to because he's in the desert, you know, in Arizona and it's like... What do you put on a desert pizza? I mean, I don't,
Starting point is 00:47:21 I mean, from just, I think it's the way that like he cooks it as far as like he's a little, like, dry but like has like you know he's like I can kind of taste what a desert pizza would be I don't know why but when you're saying that I'm like I know what that is but that's what the critic was like it it it smells like the desert it kind of tastes like it but it's but it's but it works and it's like and you watch it it's fascinating when you watch this episode and it's really done first episode of the show and it's just show and it's got a good story to it also he's like he has asthma and he had to like stop being he the reason why his shop was working so well he was there making
Starting point is 00:47:55 all the pizzas, but his doctor's basically, like, you can't be around, like, smoke all the time. You can't do this. And they basically told him, and they were, like, the guys, like, telling Chris that you can't make pizzas, like, telling, you know, Michelangelo that you can't paint. You know, it's like, so, um, so anyway, like, that was the first, there was only 45 minutes. It was really good. I really enjoyed it. And I wanted to go to Arizona immediately afterwards. And I text, I sent a text to Andrew.
Starting point is 00:48:22 And I was like, I got to go. And he's like, and he's going to Arizona. No, I want to. But like he, he's like, no, Chris, I guess Bianco is opening something in Los Angeles and Fried was just there. So, but yeah, man. So it was, it was really good. And I'm, and I actually started watching the, the, we need to talk about Cosby last night afterwards, too. It was really hard to get through. But it's excellent. And I think that just the sheer amount of people they had speaking was such a brilliant call because it was like, you needed every voice in that conversation. I, for lack of better words, I loved that dog. I know what you mean, like the way that it was put together for sure.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Watching it was like, wow, this is how you tell stories. And that's what Andrew does very well. Next time he's on, you should be on. Because I'd love to have you. Yeah, I've seen everything that you said that he's done. Yep, yep, yep. And he continues, and he's doing more.
Starting point is 00:49:15 He's got other stuff that's coming out. He's told me about that's really fascinating stuff. Starting point is 00:51:36 I want to help my energy, athletic greens. But tell me what you think of it after you have it. Because I always send this to the podcast reps and I always get to Athletic Greens because I send those notes and I put it in the description. So if you want to go check out Athletic Greens, make sure you do it. Have you been enjoying it? Yeah, the one thing that is when you were saying, knock it back, I don't knock my back, I sip on it. It's true, but I like, I'm always on the go.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Yeah, you got to do things. Yeah, I just, I sit there, I'll have it. Like, I'll have a drink. Yeah, it is tasty. It's tasty. It's really good. I'll give me some more packets too. I've been waiting.
Starting point is 00:52:13 Yes. And then I think, I mean, I mentioned, like I said beforehand, I mean, the Marvel stuff, If you want to see my full breakdown on the Marvel stuff, you guys can go over and check out. You can check it out on, what the hell? On Monday's episode. On Monday's episode, I have the full thing. And I also have my interviews from Cobra Kai.
Starting point is 00:52:34 You sound so upset about it. Marvel, no, not really. It's just, it's just. If you want to check it out. But you know what it was? I was like, so when I went, I said to myself, am I going to go cover it? Because I like to go there and like to be there for the announcements.
Starting point is 00:52:47 And I got some really good footage from it. said the Amy Polar stuff for Inside Out. I got some stuff people singing and some other things. The Indiana Jones thing I got. And they did pretty well and people were enjoying. People were thankful that I was able to get some of that stuff. But on the same token, I could have stayed home and reacted to some of the trailers and done those other things too and lost out on some of that.
Starting point is 00:53:07 And I said, was it worth it as far as did I balance itself out? Did I get enough coverage out there for the people to see that it was worth it on? And I think I did. You're one human. It's so hard when you. both are viable options and you want to be in both places and you never know the opportunities you're going to get by being there like who you're going to talk to who you're going to meet or whatever so you kind of have to shoot your shot and take those chances but it is difficult because
Starting point is 00:53:32 I'm sure there are other stuff that you wanted to react to and do it's hard to know the right decision in the moment with these kind of things yeah it was a little tougher but like you know and like I said on I did I'm glad that I saw the Indiana Jones thing so that made it worth for me because I really wanted to see that trailer so I was glad I saw that um I can't see it Not yet. But I was bummed about a lot of the Star Wars stuff. A lot of the stuff from Marvel, even though they didn't have a lot of big announcements, the only thing I was the only thing I was bummed that they didn't show again was the Guardians thing.
Starting point is 00:54:01 I heard the Guardians thing from Comic Con was so good. And they didn't show it. They showed Ant Man, which I wanted to see, and that was good. So they doubled up on some things that they had showed up. Yeah, yeah, which was interesting. Again, I think that Lucasfilm should have just doubled up on a lot of different things that they did. They didn't know Osokas stuff. I mean, yeah, Lucasfilm, to me, was the big, was the bust.
Starting point is 00:54:19 That was the bust. Marvel was fine. It was fine. But before we get out of here, I know you've got to leave. Let's talk about Game of Thrones a little bit. We'll do a little bit of a spoiler conversation for sure because House of the Dragon just keeps getting better.
Starting point is 00:54:32 I think I spoiled it already a little bit in TV talk. Really? He just said that he was, you know, about the hookup and stuff too. But I think that just to show in the way that it's going to politics, I'm bummed that we're going to be losing those two actresses. I am too. However, the Internet seems to be bummed. mad about it. I'm just bummed about it. Yeah, I haven't seen the other two actresses. I don't know
Starting point is 00:54:54 yet. And I like Olivia Cook. I don't know the other, the other actresses at all. Yeah, I don't know either. And I think like you talk about from the beginning, everybody's credited for 10 episodes on IMDB. Like, I'm trying not to spoil anything for myself anyway. But it's, it is sad to be losing two people with like insane chemistry. I don't mean sexual chemistry. I just mean they are really, really great. But I have high hopes that the next people will also be awesome. And I do like the that we're telling the story. We're picking the moments that they want to tell. It just is making me wonder,
Starting point is 00:55:26 is this only one season? I don't know. I don't think so. They're covering 26 years or something? Is that what it is? A span of a couple decades. I mean, look, it also takes place 200 years beforehand so they can keep continuing on for as long as they want.
Starting point is 00:55:40 But then it'll be different characters, right? Depends on how long it goes. I mean, I don't know. I'm not sure how long if it's a limited series. Did you see, so Josh Harwitz interviewed, um kit harrington and he asked him about he asked him about a few different things he asked him about john snow um the series and he didn't really give him much he didn't give him shit but he was but he was Josh was trying hard um and he's just um but what he did talk to him about was house of the dragon
Starting point is 00:56:05 and kit was pretty much saying like listen i going into it i was like skeptical not skeptical but like he was nervous because he was like that he didn't know how he was going to be able to not be a part of it and watch it and feel kind of, you know, I don't know, the way he put it, the way he put it was pretty good that he was just, he was nervous going in and watching it. But then as he's watching, he's going, oh, it's such a different time, a different show,
Starting point is 00:56:30 different, and he's, like, so into it. And he's, like, yeah. So the way that they put it together, great. I think that it being smaller was definitely the right choice. Absolutely. Like, we just needed to focus a little bit, especially after the final season being such a point of attention amongst fans. Like I feel like this, bringing it down to a few characters in the center of it,
Starting point is 00:56:55 one family, one throne again, just like, I think it's really smart the way they're going about it. Yeah, and like I said, there's only so much that we got to lose Roxy in a second two, so I know we didn't get our full, like, kind of big spoiler conversation that we've had, but there's a lot of things to talk about, and we talked about it. So if you're able to check out Roxy, she's going to be doing World Girls. Yeah, always doing World Girls. And also, if you are in Boston, always Lola's going to be playing. I'm flying back there for it.
Starting point is 00:57:23 September 24th for the Boston Film Festival. We were one of six movies that was selected. Don't worry, darling is another. So I'm going to try to get my hands on that. But that will be September 24th, and you can check out my social if you want to buy tickets. Good for you. I love that. That's great news.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Okay. And again, I want to thank everybody, whether, It's a comment here, a like. If you've donated anything on a, before we go, I want to make sure there's a few notes that I want to make sure that I give a shout to, by the way. Thank you to Keenan, who put a gift to the studio for sure. Thank you so much in saying the very nice words. And for hosting the Emmys.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Yeah, exactly. And thank you for Auntie M again. Two notes. Antiam, Antiam. Antim. So how are the Emmys? I don't care. Fucking awesome.
Starting point is 00:58:09 Really? I don't care. Oh, I love them so much. The Emmys are my favorite. Word shows are stupid. No, I love them. I love the Emmys. All right.
Starting point is 00:58:15 We love you guys. Thank you once again. We appreciate you. And we'll see you tomorrow for Capes and Cows. Join us, me, Winston, and Coy. Peace.
