What's going on? Everybody, welcome back.
It's Monday. What a day. What a day it is.
And remember the beginning of the year.
We were talking about how crappy the movie season was doing.
And it was eating a bunch of farts from May.
May was a disaster.
Furiosa, which is a pretty good movie, ate it.
A lot of movies eating it left and right and like, oh, it's over.
And then there was a bit of a comeback leading up to it.
And now this weekend, man, both Gladiator 2 and Wicked crushing it.
And there's still more movies to come.
So is the season saved?
Is 2024 going to be a win as far as box office goes?
We shall see.
There's tons of other things out there today that John Roke and I are going to talk about.
One of those things is, man, I got I really do.
I feel I got to talk to Roke about this because he and Jeff Snyder, they break stories all the time.
And I've seen John, well, I've seen John losing on Twitter about a lot of things, but about this
particular thing when it comes to scoops.
And man, I don't do the scoops.
I did.
And I broke a story about the Eternals.
The Eternals, yeah.
That's why I noticed I know who uncovered it because it's a two-year-old movie about the Young
Avengers, how it's going to be a TV show.
And then other people started a report on it and they're like, oh, yeah, this guy reported
is going to be a TV show.
Like, no, we did.
Be nice.
tell us that we're doing our job.
Mighty Mouse also has the series.
That's our stories.
That and more on the show today.
So it's me and John Roka.
Let's get into it, everybody.
Christmas time is right around the corner.
That's right.
I'm just going to throw random things out there.
All right.
Here we go.
Here's the show.
Where's the logo?
Where's the stuff?
Where's the thing we're doing?
Oh, here it is.
Welcome back, everybody, to the show.
It's myself and John Roka.
John, I'm starting to think that my opening monologues
is just my stream of consciousness.
what do you mean he's trying to be doing it for 20 years what are you talking about that's that's
little just how you open every every show just every show this bunch of random nonsense that comes
some people they like that's just some people some people you're like not me um you know
as i was talking about though before we even jump into the story itself but how frustrated
like i don't even like i don't ever break stories i never break stories i don't ever do that at all but
like over the on thursday it would know friday is when we did the story but we did the story i had heard
that Young Avengers was going to be a TV show and not a movie.
Right.
And so I report that.
And I said that, you know, and I didn't have the name of it.
The name of it, like the champion stuff and all that.
But then over the weekend, I see, oh, it's confirmed.
So-and-so confirms that there's going to be a, that the Young Avengers is actually going to be a series.
And I was like, that's not my name.
And it's like, what do you?
Come on.
Come on.
And it's like, and then I guess Daniel Rickman post the fact.
that he's going to do that they're going to do um r pk the yeah the champions
series which is cool which which was not part of my my thing but it's like come on guys i know
you're in the scoop game but you you deal with this shit all the time so i i can't i'm preaching
to the choir oh yeah i mean like to buy like a way lesser extension from jeff yes occasionally
i get some things and i drop them and i post them and whatever but jeff obviously that's what
he's known for boris kit those guys so yeah there is a frustration at times because people take it
and run with it and then like get all the benefits from it for the story first of all because
they aggregate it and they get it all their clicks and their likes and all of that like discussing
film is like notorious for that stuff and then on the other side you when you actually break the
story and then they don't give you credit there's a real frustration that because people of bigger
names or from bigger sites kind of follow up with your story because they're like oh they broke it
we must well drop our story now because they're always working on stuff and they're waiting for
the right time to drop it. And so then aggregators go and go with the bigger sites and give them
bigger credit. So it does get frustrating. So, you know, it's all funny until it happens to you. Then it's a,
then it's a situation where you're like, oh, man, this is a little.
It's also one of the reasons. I just don't do it normally, right? Yeah, yeah. Right.
It was like the, the, when I get, the only time I ever do it is the particular force that I
have reaches out and has not been wrong thus far. There's a couple things. Look, there's reports like he,
or he or she gave me the um a yeah yeah gave me the uh the the the the calcestus thing you know
and the fact that like right and the calcestus series didn't happen but it doesn't mean what he's still
in contention of be appear and stuff do things there was a series at one point but now it's moving
to do other things but yeah like i said i wasn't really mad about it i was just looking and going
when you see when we cover like dark horizons because they have a gang avengers thing there's no mention
to the fact that we brought to the dust of them. I'm like, I'm like, come on. Let's just do something,
do something. But either way, it doesn't, it is what it is. We'll talk about the box office,
because that's kind of the big story here today. And before we even do that, I told you, John, last
week and tomorrow, Roxy's not in town. So normally what I do is I run my interviews on, on Wednesdays,
but she's not in town tomorrow. So I'm going to run an interview that was really, really a good one.
People are going to like it. And that is, of course, the one and all.
only Jalil white. And we talked about his new book growing up Urkel. We talked about like he
didn't give me a lot on Skeleton crew, but it was a fun part when I asked him like he because I thought
he was confirmed for it. But I said, I said, we know you're in and he goes, am I? I don't. And then
he wouldn't he would not talk about. He's wearing pictures of him on the set. All right. He
wouldn't talk about. But you know, he talked about it in I said at one point I go, well,
what did you I go let me ask you this. What do you think about Bryce Dallas Howard?
a director right and he got and he's like uh he goes i think they're all great directors i think
everybody's a great director so we had a but we had a really good conversation he's his book was
really i i'll be honest i was surprised at how much i enjoyed his book really read it on the
street read a lot of it on the train finished it up and and it was written like you could i said
it to him as much in the interview you could hear it in his in his voice like has he going through the
things and he was he was honest about how you're you're at that age your head blows up a little bit
but his parents kept them grounded like all it's it all that is great we talk about his relationship
with adam stalin i loved hustle i don't know how you felt about hustle yeah hustle was a good movie
love that brought that up with him we talked about hustle we talked about um sonic we talk about
a bunch of different things so i think people are going to really enjoy the interview itself uh
but so rox not in tomorrow no no roxy oh yeah you want you even hear she scared after you know like
our kelly riley thing does she run away to her parents house in boston because you want to
go toe to toe to toe to this week christ i was ready to give me to call i hear all her sick offense
on twitter coming after me going like what did you do to roxy why you say something to roxy why roxy
look at me please i need your attention you know i see all these roxy stands out here crying on their
nerd tweets at me coming at me for my opinion on kelly riley by the way i just finished uh six episodes
of lioness last night that's a real tough woman zoie zaldanya in that show and Nicole kidman too
So, you know, I guess she has to go away for the holidays, but I'm here 24-7.
To be fair to her, to be fair to her, she did, she did ask if she could come on to the today show on the Monday show to do this.
But I just knew we had a lot of stuff today.
Then I was like, I don't know.
Today is the day to do it, making it the whole debate show.
So I didn't think today was the day to do it.
But we have to, it is becoming, it's becoming a big bit on the, because she, she went, she went off on you on Friday.
day and all love, all love in the fact that she's like she, she starts with, I love Roca,
but this is a, this is the worst take anyone has ever had. So she talks about that. You clearly,
it's going to be an interesting debate when it finally happened. So, um, but what I will say,
she, she had bested you in the super chats on Tuesday. And I was like, oh, look at that. She's going to,
she's going to do the feud there. And then Steph beat the both you. And then Winston and
Coy come from from the out of nowhere and defeat Steph. So they won last week to they knock,
step off of the throne and you you haven't had a couple you haven't a victory in like three weeks well again
it's two to one it's not really fair i don't care how much you try to decorate it's not really fair
you've won before you've won before yeah when the topics have lined up correctly i've won before
that's what i need i need i need the double whammy of really good topics and you and i that's what
i need to win most weeks i don't have the charm and and and um uh how can i say this the charm and
the overall energy that Roxy and Steph possessed so well,
nor do I have the guffaw poking fun, having fun with each other that Winston and Coy possess.
It's just me out here with you every once in a while.
And if the topics line up, then I win.
But if not, you know, I take the...
We'll see.
We'll say like every other athlete does, blames it on something else rather than the...
Hey, it worked for Aaron Rogers.
It works for Aaron Rogers.
It's true.
All right.
So let's get into this conversation because this is a conversation we've been having
forever, dude, about the box office. And it was a massive box office this past weekend for
the pre- Thanksgiving, 2024 box office. It hits a high. So you got Wicked and Gladiator
2. They came in slightly under projections in their opening box office weekend, but it didn't
stop the overall box office hitting the kind of high. It hasn't seen in ages. It may not have
been a Barbenheimer, but glicked. No, let's not. Let's not. Let's not.
do that. I hate that. Any iteration of it is. Let's not do that. That's the last time I'm ever saying
that. But both Wicked and Gladiator helped power the overall domestic box office weekend to 205
million. If that estimate holds, it'll be the biggest pre- Thanksgiving weekend hall since
the Hunger Games catching fire helped push the marketplace to 22.6. Both films were responsible
for around four in five tickets sold over the weekend. Wicked taking
and 114 and Gladiator 2 around 55 at the domestic box office internationally.
They stand at 164 and 220 million, respectively.
Gladiator 2 opened a week earlier overseas.
Both do have a sizable budget to recover, including lavish marketing spends,
with Wicked spending 154 in marketing.
Wow.
And Gladiator 2 spending $118 million on global P&A alone,
regardless of their respective budgets of 150 and 250.
Wicked broke several records,
the biggest domestic and global opening for a film based on a Broadway show,
biggest opening for its stars and director and the biggest global opening of
2024 for a non-sequel that's not going to be the end of it though
Disney will unleash Moana 2 in multiple markets on Wednesday that film
expected to haul in at least 125 million over the five days and very likely
quite a bit more with some projections going as high as 150 to 175 what do you make of
that John I think it's great you know I think it's fantastic to see this there's
there's no comparison at all to Barbenheimer because that was far and
away a bigger box office splash cumulative for an opening weekend in July of last year.
But this is great.
I mean, look, the Gallaudiator 2 is a fun film, not a great film, but a fun film.
And Wicked was a joy, an absolute joy to watch.
I went by myself, four other people in the theater in 3D and enjoyed it.
So to see people coming out for it, I'm very, very happy to see that and see the amount of
money that it's making.
And yeah, making up for like how Joker, Foliadu fell apart and other films that were
we're supposed to do well like vent on the last dance not doing well like this goes and kind of helps
the box office overall and they were saying that some of the ticket sales were hovering around the
pre-pandemic numbers and that's a positive sign for the box office but i mean you have to be honest
here right these aren't small independent films these are massive tent poll pictures uh in essence
and have a big studio around it there is a second part to wicked coming and i guarantee you if that's a
massive smash they're going to spin that off in some way
to some other, you know, from the mind of Wicked or from the world of Wicked like John Wigg did.
And then you've got Gladiator 2 here doing well overall.
So yeah, I mean, I think this is a great thing.
I'm not altogether surprised, but I do think that Wicked is the one that is going to keep having legs through Christmas.
And I think Gladiator 2 is going to slowly fade out as other movies come along as I look at it.
I agree with that. I agree with that 100% because of the other, there is something about Wicked that is going to be in the way that Avatar or the other,
It's like it's an experience that people will still want to go back and have fun with and sing along with and do all these things with when they're in there and you can see them repeat viewing.
And as I always use the generations to kind of describe what's happening in the movie world, right?
Because like what is one of the main reasons that box office took a hit is because when we were, and still for a long time, we were kids, but the age graphic, the demographic you want to go after is like 15, like 22.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and those people aren't really going to the movies that much anymore.
They're scrolling on TikTok and Instagram, right?
Yep, yeah, unless you really get them into the theater.
My daughter, I never hear her say, I want to go to the movies to, unless it's like, I'm going to the movies.
Do you want to go?
Yeah, I'll go eat the popcorn and go watch a movie.
Sure.
But she's not saying, oh, I got to go see this.
Well, that wasn't the case.
Her and a bunch of her friends for a birthday party went and saw Wicked.
That was the birthday party.
They went to see Wicked.
So, like, and she's, you know, almost 13 years old.
So you're getting everyone out and they were singing in the car and they're doing it.
It's like that's, this is, you're 100% right.
It's going to have legs and continue because it's different.
You know, it's different.
And this is the, these are the numbers overall right now.
Oh, can't zoom that one out.
Hold on a second.
I'm going to zoom these numbers out so you guys can see it a little bit better.
I'm sorry.
There it is.
Okay.
So you got Wicked, number one, gladiator at the two spot.
red one at 13.3 what the hell is bonifer pastor spy assassin what the hell's that i think it's a
foreign film but i'm not sure 5.1 for i mean good for them uh and then venom the last dance sticking
in there with uh four point what did that make overall don't forget about me yeah almost 500
close to it so um you know what it also it just shows that the movie theater experience is not
dead as you were saying right it's it's not but it it it you can't
turn away from the fact that there are certain movies that people will go, oh, it seems like a streaming movie.
That's just where we are today. Like Red One is an example of that. Red One in the early 2000s probably does a lot better than it does today because that seems like a movie that you can see on Netflix or something.
And it doesn't seem like a movie you want to spend that kind of money to go see as where again, Wicked and Gladiator, two, are like theater experiences.
They're both theater experiences.
Yeah, and I think the marketing works really well.
And the thing is, look, you just never know, right?
You never know.
This, Wicked could have easily crashed and burned as well.
You just never know.
The marketing, though, was really well done.
The press tour was well handled.
The approach to it was well handled.
And there's a lot of people who've seen this Broadway musical.
So you had kind of a built-in audience.
Sure.
But then it became like something in the pop culture,
Zykeist, like Oppenheimer, like Barre,
like you had to go experience it right everyone else is talking about it you've got to go so
those are the things that you can't plan for you can't manufacture that the viral nature of our
society now you just can't plan for it so when it happens it's a great thing and you know people
were saying well did one film help the other i don't think this is the same situation as barby and
opanheimer no one was like i can't get into wicket i'll go see glad either too like it don't
think it was quite quite that and certainly not the other way around so you look at these
situations and you go, you know what, it's just great that both of these films came out at a certain
time, were able to take advantage of people wanting to go to the movie theater. And if you give
them something to go to the movie theater that appeals to a lot of people, people will show up.
You know, and I, I don't know, I'm walking to this a little bit. Like, you look into the wicked.
Wicked, wicked is, you know, it's a story that's a very powerful story about finding your own voice,
about stepping out from a discovering that you know people in charge aren't really telling you the
truth and what do you do with that right so there's a really strong element of that throughout the movie
that i think that appeals to a lot of people and gladiator as well getting screwed over by an empire and
you've got to fight back against the empire even though you're part of the empire so and it's a sequel to a
classic exactly and so common messages here because you've got the wizard of Oz you can even argue
wicked is a little bit of a sequel to that classic or a prequel to that classic and so it's connected so it's
all the way around man it's done well it is and i saw someone saying they disagree that they think red one
was a theater it was made for the theater it doesn't mean that it was a theater experience because you
can throw big action all over the place and that's what they do with these big budget like every
rousseau movie that hits netflix you can watch it in the theater but this thing is it didn't have enough
look i didn't mind the movie it's not terrible you saw i didn't mind it it was but i if i was
spending money on it i'm like i probably could have spent my money on something better than that if that was
the case i would i would have said you know what
I subscribe to Netflix or whatever it is.
I'll watch it and I've spent money.
That's what I spend month like the Tyson fight, right?
That's what I was trying to say.
Like I spend money on Netflix so I didn't really pay for the Tyson fight outright.
I paid my Netflix thing.
So it's just something in there.
So I didn't care.
People are like, oh, this is a travesty that we watch this.
Like you pay for Netflix anyway.
Who cares?
So you chose to watch it.
You want to take the time.
Sure, you stayed up a little later because you watch it.
But then boohoo.
You know, so the same thing.
you spend your money on Red One when you can be spending on something else.
Yeah.
I think that that's where it doesn't necessarily really work as a theater experiences.
The game has changed.
The game has just changed.
And I'm trying to think if there's anything out.
As far as Wicked goes, I think we both agree.
Like I told you when, because you said how, how, I had a, I've already documented my,
my influencer screening experience that I had, which I think I wrote to both you and
Koi to come to the theater and hit me over the head of the podcast.
potted plant. But I was, but I did enjoy the, but what I will say is we will, you, you,
you put the fear in me. I was waiting for these people to be talking and screaming throughout
the entire movie and it was, yeah, it was, it was, they were, everybody was locked in.
Everybody's locked into the movie. That's probably a testament to the movie itself, you know,
but I really, I thought it was one of the best musicals in quite a while. One of the best,
I mean, I would say I haven't seen Wicked as a play, but I've seen enough theater to know that this was clearly something that was plucked from the stage, given the theater experience, and you could see it because it feels like a Broadway play come to life, obviously.
Yeah.
And I think that we just disagree on one thing, which is, which is I think that, I think that Cynthia Rivo was really good.
I mean, like, really good. I just don't think she was great. I think she was really good. I think Ariana Grande,
was great. Yeah, you and I disagree. Yeah, we disagree. Yeah, because I thought Cynthia was the star
of the movie. What, I mean, the movie doesn't work without her performance. It really doesn't. I mean,
she could, Ariana could flip her hair all she wants. The movie doesn't work without Cynthia's
performance. And I'm not trying to denigrate that that's Oriana, all Ariana did. There was much more
going on, but Cynthia brings so many levels. This is a black woman playing a character who's
being ostracized by society because of the color of her skin. So she's playing the surface level really well,
But she's also playing these other moments when people are denigrating her, when her father's rejecting her, when society's making fun of her, there's so much going on in her eyes. And so we can all relate to that. Anybody who's been, you know, ostracized or othered or made to feel different in society, we can connect with that. And she brings that power to her performance. I don't disagree with that.
throughout the whole movie.
Ariana has the more showy or role.
And so she's able to show that.
But she also has to walk the tightrope between mean girl and someone who is making a little
bit of a change inside of herself and appreciating what Alpha is going through.
So I thought she did an excellent job as well.
I just think Cynthia is really powerful in this movie and her performance.
I've singing songs.
Well, the singing.
The singing was, was, I expected.
I expected that.
I expected the singing portion of it.
And I think that the stuff that you're talking about is when she shined is when she had to do those moments.
It was certain other moments that I felt like it was a performance.
It was like it was, she was acting.
It felt like at times, at times.
But the stuff that you, the stuff that you are talking about is the stuff I agree with that I think that she shine.
I said, here's another comparison.
I'm going to be you actually will get the comparison and you will disagree with me 100%.
There were, there were times that Ariana Grande reminded me.
Madeline Khan in this movie.
There were times. I did not think that at all. I saw some Chenoweth impressions in her
performance for sure, but I didn't see Madeline, but I could maybe see that a little bit.
I mean, Madeline had this sexiness that I just don't think Ariana possesses for me.
I'm in comedic timing more so than anything else. I just, I was, you know what it was though?
I think that because I've, even in that piss, that piss apple will call it Pinocchio.
Oh God.
total piss apple uh cynthia riba was the best part of that movie yes um yeah the rest of it was a piss
apple but i've i knew she could sing i knew she i knew what i was expecting when i was expecting her
to be able to sing right i was not expecting arna gronde to be doing comedy and someone goes well you
didn't watch disney when she was younger no i didn't watch that i had no clue what that was
louis and lena whatever i don't know what that is i don't want i
I don't watch that.
So I had no idea.
And I saw her on Saturday Live and she was fine.
But like, that's, what I'm about two hours or 45 minutes of timing.
And I thought she was, I thought she was locked in.
But as I said, but you can't, you can't win in a thing like that because if I said to you,
oh, I thought she was great and Cynthia was terrible.
Not saying that.
What I'm saying is I thought, I thought Cynthia was really good.
I just was so surprised with how good Ariana Grande was that it was just the only thing
that I was, that I was thinking about.
I was like, I couldn't believe how good she went.
I think a lot of, that's something where I think a lot of people are defaulting to
because, like, there was a higher bar for her to clear.
We've seen Cynthia perform.
She's been nominated for an Oscar.
Like, we know she's a good actress, right?
And so it's seen her do songs.
So I think people went in with this idea that I know she can do this.
With Ariana, there's less of a known quantity.
So you come out of it much more impressed by what Ariana did.
And so that's understandable.
I just, I will trumpet for Cynthia because I think it shouldn't be forgotten.
I think I'm on an island.
I'm on an island.
Every single person that I,
every single person I've talked to so far about it feels like,
I don't know what the hell you're talking about.
I think she was,
my daughter said the same thing.
My daughter was like,
I said,
I said, who did you?
I said, who did she's like, well,
she wants to,
she wants to do Alphaba in,
in, in a,
eventually she wants to play Alphabet.
You know, so she's like, so her,
her thing when she's,
and she just thought Cynthia was just incredible, right?
And so, and Roxy said,
I respect your opinion, couldn't disagree with you more.
Same thing you're saying.
I feel like I'm on an island.
And that's fine.
Either way, really, really solid performance by what kid.
I'm very curious to see the second one's going to crush.
I mean, it's going to crush.
Oh, probably.
Yeah.
It's going to ask.
I'll be curiously what new stuff they add to it too, because they added some new stuff
for this first part, not a lot, but some new stuff for sure.
Yeah.
This is, this is something I never thought I'd hear myself saying in a second here.
But do you're, well, Moana, they mentioned inside of this.
article right you're going to see it tonight uh no i don't have a screening for that here in san
diego but i will but there is a showing tomorrow tuesday out it comes out it's what's so weird is
that the first the initial screening whatever people saw it it's got good feedback thus far right so
i'm so curious why they're screening it to the press like two days before it comes out um yeah
which is usually a bad sign but apparently it got some good uh some good chatter but i'm going to see it
tonight. Okay. And do you know who I'm going to see it with? No, I do not. Who else is in New York
with you? Let me tell you who I'm going to go see it with. I'm going to go see it, John. I'm
going to see it with, well, I'll tell you. I don't even know if I can if I can even do that.
I can't. I'm going to smell good when I go see it. I'll tell you that because I just hit my pits up
with Mando. Yeah. Yeah. And then I'll be seeing with Vaya. That's what I'll be seeing it with.

yesterday going through what's the code what's the code for for this what's the code for this
yesterday buying people Christmas gifts use my codes for Christmas gifts it's worth it's
totally worth it um all right let's get into some more stories here John okay and we got this
thing that was ripped from us stolen just kidding um for some this is young Avengers
becomes a champion series oh we're doing this okay that's good yeah we'll tell about the we should talk about
the story itself even though people don't do things morally uh correct for some time it seems as if
marvel studios has been moving towards a young avengers film even though one has yet to be officially
now so i'm going to help rewrite this for dark horizons too please do i will then this weekend a report
suggested there's reason for this uh the project oh let me let me let me do that again hold so then
Right before the weekend started on Friday, on the Christian Harlov show, they talked about how this is actually going to be a TV series.
And then somebody else during the weekend suggested there's good reason that the project is rumored to be scrapped in favor of doing the project as a Disney Plus series called Champions.
Daniel R.PK didn't actually break the story about the TV show.
Christian Harleff did, but he broke the rebrand of champions.
It comes that many of actors who make up the Young Avengers aren't exactly young.
in the comics they're all teens.
Yes.
It also indicated the shift to a TV show is due to the Marvel's
underperforming at the box office last year
and also lowers the risk of underperforming Young Avengers spin-off
potentially damaging the Avengers brand.
No shit, we can say that forever.
Young Avengers characters introduced in the MCU so far
include 27-year-old Haley Steinfeld as Kate Bishop,
27-year-old Catherine Newton as Cassie Lang,
22-year-old Amand Balani as Kamala Khan,
and 21-year-old Joe Locke as Billy Maximoff
and 18-year-old Osce Gomez as America Chavez.
The scooper also indicates Hawkeye Season 2
is expected to begin shooting next fall.
Okay, so so much, I don't need, what's that?
Anyway, so all of that is something,
let's start with just the obvious where we both agree.
I think we both agree.
This had no business.
even being close to becoming a movie yeah no I think that was I think they were
smart to turn the TV series like you said there are there are people young kids
aren't going to the theaters in the numbers they went to before so why would you
put it up in the theater go and put it on TV get people back reacquainted with
these characters and then maybe down the road you can launch a a movie off
of what we saw in the series you know that's very possible so yeah I agree with
this and I mean there's some good actors there but I don't think
the desire to see these young Avengers is as strong theatrically as it would be on TV.
Yeah, I mean, you can absolutely still call it Young Avengers, though. I don't know.
Just because it was in the comics, they were younger. They're still young. You're still in early
20s. There's still the young. Last time, Cheeked is still young, for God's sake.
Young, it's like, it's, they didn't say teenage Avengers. It's a young Avengers, right?
So you could still do that if you wanted to, but I, but change the champion, fine. I agree 100% that
that it needs to be a TV show.
And plus the fact that you've had both Haley Steinfeld
and Mblawny do the TV stuff and do it very well
and you build up on it.
And then you can debut them later on in the movies.
And it does well, then there you go.
But I think that it's also what it,
if this is true, it shows the smarts of going,
okay, look, let's not just try to push something
that's not working in the theater.
Because we're going to, we're going to pay for it
on so many different levels.
I'm going to pay for it from fans.
We're going to pay for it from the bosses going, hey, this isn't making money.
The Marvels didn't do well.
So why are we making a movie off of one of the characters, even though she was the best part of the damn movie, why are we making a movie there when we can say, hey, it doesn't look like this is something that's going to get people in the theater.
But, and the point I just made about Tyson and Netflix, you're paying for it already.
You're paying for Disney Plus.
Watch this series.
In the same way, are people, were people signing up to Disney Plus to watch Agatha?
Probably not, but did they watch it?
because they had Disney Plus, yes.
And they wound up enjoying it because they go,
wait a minute.
That's like that show at all.
And or another example.
That's a Star Wars series.
I'm gonna, what is that show?
All right, I'll watch it.
I'm paying for it anyway.
So what do you think about all this stuff, John?
Well, which part of it?
Like do you think specifically, ask me the questions?
I think that the specific part when it comes to,
you know, you have the, you have them like making the movie.
Marvel making the move and saying, yeah, we can't, we understand what's working and what's not
working. And we can't just say, hey, we want this to be a movie because we like these people
involved. You and I say this religiously on this show. It is show business. Well, yeah, and they need
content, don't they? So, and that's the important part of this whole thing is that they need
content on these streaming services to keep their numbers up. So they have to be selective of what
content ends up on their services to satisfy the customers who are subscribed.
And yes, it's almost like, oh, I get this as well.
It's always like an extra bonus, right?
Because you're not actually physically paying for that specific show necessarily.
And yeah, you're right.
I don't think a lot of people sign up for Agatha.
I don't think a lot of people are going to sign up for Skeleton Crew, which is the one that's about to come out.
And so you're getting that as part of almost like the package, you know?
And so that's great.
It's like you used to sign up for HBO, right?
You signed it for HBO way back in the old days because you're like, okay, I can see all these movies.
Oh, wait, there's a debut, a premiere of this movie that was in theater six months ago.
Now it's debuting on HBO for the first time.
That's a nice little extra gift that I get for that month when it comes out.
So this is the way you look at these series.
And I think they're smart to do this because you've also got to gauge the interest.
What is the actual interest that people have for these characters?
I don't think it's that strong.
So, okay, let's see what we're going to get.
Let's see if we put them in a good series.
like this people the taste will grow as more people watch it as we saw with agatha the numbers
increasing every week and as we saw with acolyte the numbers decreasing after the third week it's
it's all about interest engaging interest and so if you get them back on there you satisfy the people who
already subscribers and then you get those people to watch in larger numbers to get them excited for a
possible theatrical jump because i know they're going to end up in secret wars right yeah of course
yeah 100 and that's a good way to lead up to it where you're not and the other point that we
made the other day on uh friday when we broke the store um that uh it was um the the the idea is that
when if you're gonna do this as a movie where when do you where do you put it right you put it a tv show
you drop it whenever and it leads up perfect timing so it gets yeah can you get you there jeph just
said the other day on last week on hot mic that he thought spider man four might be getting pushed
and so there's no time to place this until after secret wars and so why not just wait see all
this all plays out and then see what you can do with that series. I think it's smart. I'm glad you brought up
Spider-Man stuff because there's more, and I think this is also stuff that Jeff has obviously
been very well documented talking about, and that's the third Spider-Verse do-over talks. They're re-emerging.
In summer 2023, Spider-Man across the Spider-Verse open to rave reviews and very successful box office
with a ton of excitement for the third film beyond the Spider-Verce scheduled for it March 24. Then in June
In 2023 came a bombshell report with crew members claiming unsustainable working conditions due to relentless revisionism, while animators said there was no way that the film could be ready in time for its date.
The film's producing duo of Lord Miller subsequently indicated they wouldn't release the film until it's ready to low and behold, Sony removed the film from the calendar with no date set.
Little was heard about the film after that until the September when a report at the In Snyder, Jeff Schneider,
claimed that Sony Pictures has scrapped most of the work done on the film.
So far, two creative reasons.
The report producer Chris Miller quickly denied saying nothing has been scrapped.
While composer Daniel Pemberton also dismissed it, Snyder stuck by his story.
Two months on, Scooper Brandon Davis indicated on phase zero the other day that Snyder's report was essentially correct.
Claiming the project restarted the entire script after across the Spider-Verse came out with a studio said to be
very undecided about the film's ending.
The original reports suggested
reels of animated footage
for the project were scrapped due to this creative
decision and both reports suggests were years away
from seeing the film which likely won't arrive
until Spider-Man 4 in the second
half of 2026. Here's what I want to say.
Go ahead. Because what's hilarious
about this is that the other day I talked about
how, and I think you and I've discussed this,
when a movie under
the Disney banner or any other studio
for that matter bombs,
people go, oh, well, Sony ruined
it.
Lucas or not Lucas
Disney ruined it.
So and so,
but they don't say
when end game hits,
Disney's the best.
In the same way
that Snyder gets
raked over the goals
for this thing.
And now that this report comes out
that yeah,
he's probably right.
And nobody's going to tweet a Snyder
and going, yeah,
you're right, buddy.
All these people though,
yeah,
it's so,
and I see it where on Jeff.
Like I do.
I know,
because I talk to Jeff
outside.
of the show. And I know how much this wears on him because, you know, he fights hard to be seen
as an independent voice in this community, whether right or wrong on some of his takes, that's
your personal opinion. But whenever he breaks something and these creators shamelessly go after him,
which is a real dick move, let me say that out loud to some of these creators who go after
Jeff, creatives, rather, who go after Jeff when the story is true, they're trying to work the
fans by being like, wow, that's kind of ridiculous.
These people think they know more about the project than I do, as if people don't
have loose lips in Hollywood.
And then some of these fans take the creatives because they're so starry-eyed and
their fans and their stands of these creatives.
And they go, whatever they say must be the law, must be the truth.
And they go after Jeff.
And then when the story comes out and it's true, kind of like the recent situation here
with that movie, Catherine Newton, I think, no, no, Sydney-Sweeney, that movie,
nobody went and issued a retraction on Twitter, on social media, wherever.
Nobody apologized for coming after Jeff.
No, they stay in their anger and then they shut the hell up when they get a pie in their face.
So it is super frustrating, but that's the game.
And it's mostly brought on because these people are envious of what Jeff gets to do and they don't get to do it.
And so they want to take him down a little bit.
But, you know, it is tough.
It's tough to be out there because people are looking to tear you down.
And especially when creatives give them the green light to do it.
Well, by I don't want to say lying, but certainly massaging the truth about what's really going on to embarrass Jeff and other scoopers, by the way.
But but let's also, I love, you know I love Jeff.
And shout out to Brandon Davis.
I didn't know, I didn't know how now he's officially a scooper.
I know we bounced back off of, off this.
So shout out to phase zero, you know.
But you know I like, you know I like Jeff.
I love Jeff.
I do.
We both.
But Jeff, Jeff likes, Jeff likes to stand against the wall and just throw punches with his eyes closed.
I don't disagree with you.
I don't disagree.
If you know that you got it, if you know that the story is going to eventually come to light,
think it like this.
Shut your phone off and go play and go play basketball.
That's not how Jeff.
No, it's not how he works.
And it's why he gets stressed out.
It's just like, because he knows it.
When I say that to him, he goes, I know, I know.
And it's the same thing.
It's like, yeah.
I mean, look, there's people in here.
Oh, well, when you won for 30, what do you expect?
Jeff is.
Jeff is not one for 30.
Jeff, Jeff hits a majority.
And when Jeff gets stopped.
And as I was mentioning before, when there are things sometimes you get a report on and it's like, oh, well, they switch things up.
And it's like, well, so and so was absolutely in the works and looked like they were going to be cast.
And then it was the last minute decision.
You never hear about those things.
But he's bringing it to, Jeff is athletic.
Someone's wrong.
He plays basketball all the time.
He plays basketball all the time.
You are wrong, Randy.
He plays and he's good.
You clowns never stop.
You people never stop.
Stop being so angry at other people who are doing what they worked hard.
do with their lives. Stop it. It's not going to make your life any better. It's not. Stop it.
Cut it out for God's sakes. But the thing with with the it's like this if you guys
say like one for 30 you know your father. You grew up with your father and then you say your father's
going to do something and your father doesn't show up. Now do other people get to say to you,
you know you're one for 20 with your dad. I don't know how much you really know your dad.
How much you do this. That's the thing in this situation and creatives change their minds all the
time studios change their minds all the time. So when you're reporting on something,
something because you've gotten some information and Christian,
you know this as well of over the years of you've been doing it.
Things change from when you reported it and then people can claim and go like,
oh, you were wrong.
It's not true at the time we reported it.
This is what we were hearing.
And that's a valid thing to, to be able to say.
It's not a gotcha thing for you all to jump up and down like crazed
monkeys about that is that is the business that he's gotten himself into.
Right.
It's like they is like when you miss.
I mean, it's true.
Like I still, I still kind of break balls with people too.
And we weren't, we didn't even report this.
This was a report that was out there about Downey could potentially be, uh, doom.
Yes.
And so we led with that.
And we said, could Downy be doom?
And so it was like, really going with clickbait?
How can you be going with clickbait?
No way, blah, blah.
And then like literally over the weekend, he was announced as doom.
And those people don't, they don't come back and go, sorry.
No, they don't, but that's, that's the game.
That's what, that's what it is.
And you've got to, you've got to understand like that's just, that's what it is.
It's also human nature to go.
wait a minute you're wrong oh you weren't wrong yeah whatever i got bad things you do to tell you're
right exactly yeah so it but it's the game it's it's it's it's part of it and it's what it's also why
i'm i'm really kind of breaking chops more so than anything else when it comes to the whole
young avengers thing because i don't even i don't break scoom it's not what i do it's just it's just it's
it's just funny to watch how it it's like it just works like that and i can only imagine if you do it for like
your career like Snyder does how frustrating that could be yeah but you've been on both sides of it right
christian i mean because like when we had schmodeown shows how many of those after shows were breaking news
about the schmodeown i'm sure you got frustrated i know sometimes i would see stuff or read stuff
like where are you where are you all getting this nonsense from right it was so it's extremely
it's interesting to be on both sides of it oh there were so many it was so far i felt i did feel
how like studios and stuff to be there were so many BS rumors that used to come out what are you talking about
Who's what I remember I remember there's I remember there's a whole report about how you and I like oh John Roker is him and Arloff aren't friends anymore and I'm like and I remember texting you going do you see this one like I think of the day that it broke was hilarious anyway um the other thing is do you know it was all bibbs do we know that was all bibs was right yeah do you see the trailer for Sonic today I'm not a sonic person I've only ever seen the first movie so I did not and it didn't do a reaction because I you know I didn't want to disrespect the problem sure go ahead well the trailer I mean I'm you're
read a whole thing. Basically the trailer came out today and
the latest Sonic and I had a debate with
Luke, producer of the show. And he
and he was, he and I were talking and he thinks
that this is going to do better than Mufasa.
I do not agree.
And I'll tell you why
I'm not going to tell you it's not going to be better than Mufasa.
Right, right. You mean quality wise.
Yeah. Quality wise, it absolutely could be better.
As far as performing box office wise,
and one of those reasons because he you know he runs his channel which is galaxy geeks and and they
and they do polls of what people are more excited for and overwhelmingly it's been sonic that doesn't
surprise me doesn't surprise me but again the average person who's not subscribed to the movie channels
and the reaction channels and things like that the lie do not discard the lion guard or the
lion guard the lion guard the lion king brand
The brand is strong.
And it is going,
it is going to outperform Sonic.
I will, that one, that, that's a bet that I'll, that I'll take.
This fall, Jason Statham in the Lion Guard.
Hey, can you get just how he is?
You know what I mean?
Put that line down.
The situation here with Luke, I told her,
I love Luke,
a great conversation with recently.
But I mean, with his channel,
it is called Galaxy Geeks.
How many geeks are crossing over?
to be necessarily Lion King
fans or Lion King prequel fans.
I don't necessarily think that's the crowd
that's going to cross over.
The Venn diagram doesn't seem that big in that way.
So of course they're going to default more to Sonic.
That's much more of a geeky thing.
So I can get him using his community for that.
And that totally makes sense.
But I think it is because nobody saw Lion King making 1.6 billion.
Nobody.
No, no.
No, not that.
The brand is strong.
And so those of us in the bubble might be like, well, is it animation?
is not animation we can argue about all those semantics
of all that what it matters is
is it a good movie and are people going to be entertained by
it and Disney is such a massive brand and the
Lion King thing is deep that is deep
in generations of people's souls
and I think those people are going to come out
and see the movie in large
numbers I don't think Sonic has the
reach that Lion King has so I'm going to
you fall to your side but I
mean it's possible but I think you're more
it's going to do very well there's no doubt
about it but it's not people there's some
people who think that it's
going to defeat Mufasa. It's not.
It's just not going to defeat it box office.
It could very well be better.
It could very well be better.
It will not.
The second you start playing,
oh,
Savagnan,
people lose their minds, and they're going to go
see it, and they're going to take their kids
to see it, and it's going to be this huge,
big movie.
So Sonic's going to do gangbusters
on this third movie. It's going to make a lot,
there's going to be a lot of stuff for people to watch.
But there is, I will
bet every person in this chat room that they're a steak dinner that it will be that it will be uh
it will 100% it will be sonic it will be a chat right now i know and you should there's there's no
there's no world where it's going to look look look at all right let's go let's go through the numbers in
general here we can all right break it down we're going to go through the numbers of okay what sonic
one and two did on um and then we'll we'll do that so let's go to
We'll go to box office, Mojo.
We're going to bring in the first Sonic.
Okay.
And give me a second here.
Zippa-d-doo.
Where is this stupid thing?
There it is.
Okay.
So here is Sonic the first one.
The first one came out in 2020.
Pandemic.
So, yeah.
319.
That's a really solid number for at that time, right?
Okay.
So, and you, and I don't know, it was, I can remember it was the same thing.
Was it the day release?
I can't remember. I don't think it was.
Oh, I don't remember, yeah.
I can't remember.
But then the second one comes out in 2022.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
And it does 405, which is 100, 100,000 more, right?
Yeah.
100,000.
100, it did, instead of 305 million, did 105 million more.
So 100, whatever it did, 100 million more.
Okay.
So then you got Lion King, which you just mentioned.
Yep.
And that, granted, it was 2019 before the pandemic.
like 1.6.
Yeah, 1.6.
That's almost together with both Sonic and Sonic 2 together.
Yeah.
I'm going with the odds here on this one.
Okay.
Okay.
It's like, it's just, this is like if you put in a championship fight,
you're looking at someone who's really good in the ring,
can throw fast punches and has been a solid,
a solid performer.
Yeah.
But you just got that tried and true champion that just,
you might not want him to win yeah but he just wins all the time right there's nothing you do
about it yeah 100% 100% yeah and that's i mean disney and these adaptations if you complain about
these adaptations it's all they want but they make money and so you know even little mermaid for
the most part did better or did my made money to a degree so yeah and that was the least well
received one and i'm going to also say this i liked the sonic trailer a billion times better than i
like the muffa trailer i'm not interested in that mufasa movie at all at all i'll take my little one to
see it though yeah that's the thing I don't thank you for yeah yeah I have to see she
hasn't seen the sonic movies so I don't know if she will but I know she likes Lion King
I know so and it's it is it still had it's still lying still has that magic
it still has that magic so and that's not someone says little mermaid barely broke even has
nothing to do with this it has nothing there's so much more with little mermaid in general
this has nothing to do with that you can talk you're talking about you're talking about lion
We're talking about Lion King. If you would have said, if your argument was Lion King, the
live action one only barely broke 400 million, then I'd say you got a, you got a point.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, the other thing with the Little Mermaid thing that I'm pointing out is that
with all the negative reactions to it, people did all these videos to try to tear the film down,
people did all these think pieces about destroying it and all woke and all of this nonsense.
Never mind that none of them are saying anything about Elfa being black. Okay, fine. But like
the pick and choose of it at all, but like
the film still broke
even. It could have easily been a bomb
with all the
mounted pressure against the film,
but the fact that it broke even, I think, is
a testament to even the worst of them
or what is considered to be the worst
than by a lot of these people
still broke even. And that
springs, that's these volumes about the
brand awareness that
people, young people have about these live
action adaptations. Let's see.
I'm not asking people in the chat,
right now what you're going to see i'm asking what you think's going to win right do you ask just put
just put either sonic or mufossa put that in the chat room and light it up um i think i think that's
really the majority of the big stories is it yeah i mean you got mighty mouse going to do a movie we can
cover that some other time and who gives us who i mean i know mighty mouse as a kid you do too
and i do yeah andy coffman of course uh which is famous
brings the Mighty Mouse theme, which is so good.
Yeah, so it's, it's, it's a little split and even yet split in the chat room thus far.
But let's get into your stuff, man.
Tell me about what's going on road because we already, we got almost 40 questions already.
It's a good start going into it.
Good start.
All right.
So what do you got, John?
Yeah, the Outlaw Nation tonight.
We're going live at 7 p.m. PT with the geek buddies to review Wicked.
You know Mike Vogel has got a lot to say about that musical.
and Shannon McClung and I are just going to ride his coattails into the Western sky to see what the,
his thoughts of all this is going to be.
So we got a little fun discussing that.
So come join us live at 7 p.m. BT tonight on the Geek Buddies.
This is Thanksgiving week.
So I don't know how much content we're going to have, but we're never going to have another hot mic episode before Thanksgiving.
Hopefully we'll lock down another Jedi way.
We'll see.
But more geek buddy stuff coming throughout the week as well.
And I will drop my review for episode two of June prophecy tomorrow morning.
So a lot happening here on.
the channel come and hang out with us uh youtube.com slash john rokes as or just type in outlaw
nation and john roken come up i'm so behind on so many different shows i started like i started
watching the new season of cobra kai but then my daughter was like hey don't watch that without me so
i'm gonna watch that with her oh yeah um still haven't seen arcane season two yet i've been dying to go see
that i can't wait haven't watched dune but you know what i did watch i watch there's two things i
watched i watch juror number two oh would you like it i did good i did i did
I did like it. I did like it. It's all my schedule for today. Yeah, yeah. I did like that movie. Jury number two. And then the other one I started watching was, um, the super slash man, the documentary. Oh, oh, such a great doc, man. Yeah, hard. My, my wife was watching it with me and she's and she just, she starts to hear. She was like, she can't. And she went, she went to bed. She just could, she just couldn't do it. Not because it wasn't good. It was, it was, on the contrary. It was, it was that powerful that she just, she's like, I can't go to bed like this. And it was. And so she. So, she's, she's, she's like,
She, she, she, I was watching it for a little bit.
I was in that kind of grouchy old man mood last night too, though,
because I'm sitting there finally, everyone leaves me alone.
All the kids are finally upstairs.
My wife goes upstairs.
I'm like, okay, I can sit down and finally watch nothing.
Within 15, not even, six minutes of watching it by myself.
I get called upstairs to do something else.
I'm like, the hell with this.
And I just shut the TV off and went to bed.
I actually went, I didn't go to bed.
You know where I went?
I went into my cabinet.
I grabbed myself some via and then I went to sleep.
Exactly what I did.
Yeah, 100%.
All right.
Let's get into some of these questions because we got to go.
We got to 39.
39.
And the good news with you this week is you got a good shot to win it because it's only
going to be really two days.
You only got Steph and Brett to compete with because we're not doing a show on Friday,
Thursday.
We're not doing a show.
And it's really, it's you versus Steph and Brett.
Stefan, Brett are going to be.
I may come.
back and make you do a show on Friday so I can win the week I may come back I might I might do
it's well Friday is Friday would be Winston and Coy but I'm like but I've already been
we don't need no I know my wife my wife has been very she's like take the day off come on take
the day off I'm like come on come on and she's like I we're doing things I get to get to the day off
on on Friday but uh EWalk I'll host the show just live it's live it may I might take you up on that
come uh would you want to run the show live on on Friday I would love to do it let me bring on
who I want I would love to do it well I don't know that
it depends on
I'm not Sarah come on Matt
I love I'd love to have you guys on the show together
I'm doing a show with him in a little bit it was you know it's great
so good the other day he was on we were shooting some episodes of his show
and and we had Phoenix Carnivali on and he took her back to the train station
and he's like he goes do you want anything when I'm out it's like yeah I was like yeah
actually there's a great pizzeria right there if you you want to grab
you know a couple slices
this barata slices that it's just so good
that Brett and I love at this place
and so he walks into
he walks in there and he goes
because he's a big pizza head too like me
and the owner is like
hey champ he was like a huge
UFC guy so he gave him the whole thing for free
I was like I should I had you get a pie
but it was so but it was
but yeah that was that was pretty great
but we talk we talk about
we do we're doing a couple he's coming back in
he's going out of town for a little bit so we're doing another show with him at right after this at
3 30 we're going to be recorded you should do a live show at a stadium and i'm going to crash it
i would well to do a live to do an actual live show in new york with you and him would would would
probably sell out pretty fast come on i would i would i would i would leave because i can i already
see it it's going to become i would uh the debate would be let's don't give the sucker no statue
give some guts yeah yeah i walk
Why aren't we given Craven the benefit of the doubt?
J.C. Chander has never made a bad film.
Margin Call and all is lost are both top tier.
I don't think it's a matter of...
Triple Frontier was dog crap.
I didn't see it.
I didn't see it.
But I am giving the movie the benefit of the doubt.
I'm not giving Sony the benefit of the doubt,
and I'm not giving the box office the benefit of the doubt.
Because it is coming out of the time that no one's talking about this movie,
and everybody is bored to tears with everything that Sony has done.
And it's just one of the,
and this, right now,
superhero movies and comic movies are in a place
that unless you are really getting a movie out there
that people are pumped to see,
it just becomes another,
it's a genre now of like,
where a bad horror movie pops up.
You're like,
oh, it's just one of those bad horror movies.
But if it's something that looks intriguing,
oh, it looks like a pretty scary horror movie.
I want to go check it out.
So it's not a matter of J.C. Chander.
I think it's a matter of the,
the powers that be and where we are.
Yeah, it's a Sony thing. It's more than anything else.
Because you're right. A margin calls a good movie.
All's Lost is an excellent movie with Robert Redford.
Maybe that and Man with the Gun or whatever was called.
Those are the two best Robert Red performances recently.
And then a most violent year, which nobody talks about.
That's a great film with Oscar Isaac and Jessica Tassadine.
It is.
Yeah.
And so Triple Frontier was the one that wasn't that good.
But you're right.
But Jason Chandor, overall, good director.
but you're in the Sony system yes what they require i think the movie will be decent and better than
most people think it's going to be but i think it's going to eat shit at the box office all i've heard
is that it's a bloody action fest and there's not much story it reminds me of of dulf longren's
punisher from back in the days but i like that movie uh ewalk chander's worst film is triple frontier
and even that was pretty good you like that um is there a worry that sony hijack craving
like Fox did with Gavin Hood.
No, I don't think that they'd be able,
because you gotta remember that Gavin Hood
was coming off of Sotzi at that time.
I think he only had like one film,
maybe two, so they could bully them around
a bit more.
Chander's been working for a bit,
and Chander can be like,
no, I'm gonna do this.
And that's not to say that the studio
can't still throw their might around,
but I think less so than that example.
They probably have final cuts,
so they'll do what they want with the movie
or what J.C. may want to do with the movie,
because they try to cut these things down
to like an hour and a half,
for the most part. And you're right to bring up Gavin Hood. That was a film director who was
kind of still new in his career. And so, and I interviewed him for that show I used to have at Collider,
and they made me cut 20 minutes of that interview that I could not, had never broadcast,
where he talked about his experience about being pushed aside. It's a pretty harrowing conversation
about how the studio can abuse a young director and manipulate a young director and screw over a young
director and then have them take the craps for it so the executives get away scot-free so um i have
nothing but sympathy for gabin so it's an interesting comparison to make but i think jc's a much more
seasoned the director at this time as you were alluded to christian so yeah i'd love to hear that
snippet i still haven't i still have those 20 minutes they made me cut it but i've never but i've
saved it under lock and key the same thing with cody smit mcfee we had a really great
conversation he revealed some stuff about the about x-man and what he was what the contracts
were and I I I they made me cut it's but I've kept those locked in a vault man so for whatever reason
when time comes yeah I'd love to I'd love to see that uh Kenneth colton gladator two was awful really
i think so I felt the entire film from the weak story to weak acting reminded me of tasteless imitation
that aims for nostalgia yet this delivers nothing of substance I was not entertained that's fair
um I like I said I think that people are trying and you and I had this discussion slash debate already
where I just think trying to match it up to the original one,
if you're going to go and disappointed.
If you're trying to go into this is going to be an Oscar winning film,
I was expecting a big, huge, epic, sword and sandals thing.
I did not like some of the CGI in it,
but other than that, I was entertained.
I enjoyed watching it.
I like being back in that world.
I think awful is a stretch, but that's your opinion.
I enjoyed watching it.
Yeah, I would say.
So it's a fun action movie.
Yeah.
For sure, as long as you're not going in inspecting gladiator,
a remake of Gladiator
then it's a fun film to have but
I don't think it was awful and the acting
how can you come for the acting who was terrible in the movie
Denzel was a blast I thought Muskell did a good
one of the emperors not not not
not the kid from stranger things but the
other kid wasn't my Heckenger yeah the other kid
wasn't great I don't know if that was his fault or it was
Ridley Scott's fault yeah
Armada quoting the great
mad hatter Mustard
Perfect
Carlton Rudder
London calling. What's up, Carl?
Not a big musicals guy, but I enjoyed Wicked.
Also, started Silo on Apple TV.
It's a great series so far.
See you later, Christian, for the live Q&A.
Yeah, we're doing a Q&A in both the Patreon and members.
So what I'm going to have to do is, like last week, as I mentioned with Matt Sarah,
we had we had to another, the live stream, like the bar thing that we do.
I had to cancel it because I had to get Matt into the studio to knock out two episodes.
And like my time just runs out, right?
And so today, PLD is like, hey, you got the Q&A at 5.
I'm like, oh, I'm on a train.
But I was like, you know what?
I'm going to try to do the Q&A from the train.
Nice.
Let's see if I could be kind of fun.
Let's see if I can do the Q&A on the train.
So if you want to see me do a Q&A on the train, join become a member today.
Are you going to whisper your answers?
Are you going to be out loud?
It depends on if I'm sitting, if I'm sitting far enough away,
then I'll talk loud enough.
If not I'll whisper and people understand.
Keep it down.
Yeah, shut the fuck up.
That'll be the old lady.
right next one iwok thoughts on idris elba as man-at-arms in masters of the universe is that is that true
yeah that they reported that on friday that's great you don't like that is i don't know what this movie is
i don't know what this is madness no no no no no no no that's that's that that shows me that
that shows me that they're doing it right um okay you got to remember track i have not been i've i don't
want to get over and go you know my story with masters of the universe you know it i know my yes um so
it's not rehash their trauma let's not they don't have to but but it's just there's i've never been
any they've been trying to get this shit done for 20 some odd years and every iteration every director
every cast person that they put together i've said crap crap crap they have no idea what they're doing
they need it to be lord of the rings meets star wars it's got to be uh technology science meets magic that's what it is
And you got to base it off that kind of the 2002 cartoon network lure.
The original Hymion comics were based off Conan the Barbarian.
It's kind of what happened.
This shows, and Travis Knight, this is the first iteration that I've been like,
okay, wait a minute.
Everyone's been cast so far.
I'm like, okay, wait a minute.
They might actually know what they're doing here.
And it looks like it actually takes place on attorney and not Earth, which is Idris Elbez,
man in arms.
I mean, I don't know, but they cast T.
but yeah the only thing there is she's got to know pretty quick that it's not a real dad but i you know
so i always i was yeah i mean i'm just giving you sure come on anyway from the casting but um
but either way i i this is promising to me okay i just don't want him wasted like he was in marvel
you know with the mcc you like i want that role to be a bigger role and for him to shine in that role so
yeah uh speaking of the q and a
I guess we will see Chey Markell today because he became a new member.
Nice.
Perfect.
And he follows it up with a question or statement rather.
He says, honestly, I quite enjoyed Red One.
There's a lot of macho fun.
Yeah, I didn't.
Look, I was expecting it to be, oh, my God, what are we doing here?
It wasn't.
It's a generic, you know, holiday action movie.
The Rock being the Rock.
And it was, it's something that I would absolutely put on during the holidays.
Yeah, yeah.
If I'm not paying for it.
Armada.
I think Jeff Snyder was one of the people who sang during the wicked screenings.
Did he really?
No, he didn't.
Also, did you see, you know the words?
No, he doesn't know the word.
Also, did you see the rock said it was okay to sing in the theater?
No, I did.
I did see that.
And I tweeted that out and I said, but I thought the rock one said that it wasn't sing along with the rock, which is, which is.
I'm going to go ahead and disagree with that.
And you should, but what they should do in a way to make more cashish, because they will,
Have sing-along screenings.
They were totally going to make that happen.
Of course they should.
But I don't want to, I don't want, and I was so happy.
I was, I was terrified that that was going to happen in the screening that I was at.
Well, the influence screen.
I was terrified that somebody was going to break in a song next to me.
The person in the tutu was going to start singing.
And I'm like, please don't.
Please don't.
And they didn't.
They didn't.
And so I don't, I think that's, I don't think you do that.
In the same way, you don't talk loud.
You don't sing.
Well, I'm enthusiastic.
I don't care that you know the words.
It's not impressive.
me that you know the words yeah I agree the great Tim Sim hey last year we had
Barbenheimer with Barbie and Oppenheimer now this year will we what we have what
is called not doing it with Gladiator 2 and Wicked how is this double feature
phenomenon still around when I don't mind which I don't mind at all will it continue
I think I don't really think that it's done on purpose I think that it yeah I think
when it lines up to where something along the like I go wait a minute there's some
these two movies are so radically different.
Yeah.
And they could potentially, if this, this one sold out,
pushes it to here and this.
I think it was more of the case,
as John mentioned beforehand with Gladiator,
with Barbie and Oppenheimer,
more so than this.
But I think these things will kind of happen here and there.
Yeah, every once in a while.
There's nothing wrong with that.
And certainly,
I like the idea that studios are willing to go
toe to toe with each other and see that,
look, they're not,
they shouldn't be afraid to counter program
because people will go see both.
If you make a good enough movie
are interesting enough movie.
Shea Markell also says, to be honest, I rooted for Denzel and gladiator two.
I definitely wanted to see someone come from his position and achieve his gold within that
corrupt society.
I understand, but I think there's an extreme at one point.
You know, it's like, it's like to a certain element, I agree with you, but then there's
the point of no return that you go, oh, I can't, I can't, I can't root for that person anymore.
I mean, he's, he's corrupt as well.
So, like, right.
Right.
right uh mike joyce citizen dandis for president who's that what's that what's that i don't know who that
is citizen dandis i don't know what i don't know what it is uh mike joyce saw the new captain america
trailer again before g2 do you think that captain america fighting the president who's a hulk
will be too much for some people well there's a new report though john i mean i guess i guess i
should bring this up um it's got this hold on a second let me see where the hell is it
It may be, hold on, Luke sent it to me earlier.
I want to bring it up, but it's, it's something to do.
It's, I guess there was a YouTube video more so.
Yeah, there's, there's another, apparently, I don't know the full videos,
but the video is Captain America is changing again because of the bad test screening reaction.
So apparently they screened it again, which we had heard.
And then they're changing.
They're doing more reshoots again.
How much does this movie is going to cost like a billion dollars to make?
I don't know if I believe any of that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, this is coming out from two months, right?
It comes out in February, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, how are you going to do these reshoots and install them into the movie and make it all work?
I don't know if that's true.
I haven't heard anything about that.
I don't check my view.
I haven't heard anything about that overall.
So it would be surprising.
I would be very shocked if that's the case.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
Okay.
And I don't think it'll be too much for people that, that, if it's good, it won't be too much.
If it's, if the movie stinks, then it.
And that's, yeah, it won't be, yeah, it's like if the movie's really good and then that happens.
Like, oh, you had me until that happened.
Yeah.
If it's not good, it's not good.
Artem says, no question today.
But I've been a fan since Far Far Away Star Wars podcast with you, John and Tiffany, I think.
Always great content from both of you.
Well, thank you.
Yeah, it's funny.
It's like, I really enjoyed when we were doing, like, that's why you mentioned beforehand
where you're doing Jedi Way and I say to you each and every time is, I don't know how you still do it.
I just don't know how you still do it to be able to do.
It's when that show started far, far away.
It was like, I remember it was so much Star Wars news and so much enthusiasm from the fans at that point that I remember pitching it at Geek Nation going, you, we should, we should do this thing and do a show.
And Tiffany and I decided we were going to do it.
And then because Campy didn't think a Star Wars show could work weekly, weekly.
He didn't think he could work weekly.
So when I, and I had said to him, I was like, look, I'm doing this far, far away thing.
and it's only audio, and I think that we could do it weekly.
And he said, why don't we do a pilot on it, see if anybody cares.
And if they do a pilot, and he came up with the name of the Jedi Council for the show.
And then I said, well, let's try it.
He said, let's try it.
And we did.
And obviously, at that point, it just, the numbers were so good.
He's like, let's do it weekly.
He was like, he understood it right away.
But far, far away to me was like the definition and idea,
of what I always wanted a Star Wars show to be.
It was like just a straight conversation podcast style of a show.
And it was just it was it was the most pure Star Wars show that I think have ever done.
It was the one that like because by the time I loved Sith counsel.
And I love it.
Just the reason we stopped doing it is because it's just,
enthusiasm for me is just not there for it anymore.
I don't want.
And the fans don't want to hear a show every every week about just Star Wars where it's like,
oh, well, this is disappointing.
They get that enough on this show.
when a new Star Wars show comes up about it.
So that show was just,
the time that it was on, it just worked.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I love to start your career.
It started your career.
Exactly.
Christian is the one who walked me into there because Christian pitched me to come on the show.
And I was like, I'm not a, I don't know all the ships and all the species and Star Wars.
And you're like, no, no.
We want a regular middle of the road fan to come in and talk with us.
And I was like, sure.
And, you know, it was at a time of my life when I really needed something to distract me.
and Christian was very gracious to open the door to me to walk into this world.
And so, yeah, that's the show that got me in there.
And then Tiffany was really great to season me on how to host a show.
She was fantastic.
I will always love Tiff, who's in a new film now.
Yeah, she is.
She's crushing.
Crystal Fernandez.
That's my own, that's one of the things.
I was, I mean, I hosted so many damn shows with her,
whether it was far, far away, the Schmo's stuff that she came in to do.
But then her and I hosted our, we hosted various things on Fandangangu together.
So many different things.
She was my favorite humans in the world.
I love to.
Agreed.
Agreed.
uh shay markell has anyone seen the sci-fi series pantheon it's animated it's really awesome show
and paul dano is the voice actor for the main character no have you seen that one john no no i know i
know i'm glad it's on the list though you're at forty six right now you're at 46 46 can we

stage here let's see if you can do it mad sinister mccall because step is no joke now step is like

Is it? That's that's a southern delicacy spoonbread. Okay. Thank you, Derek. Yeah,
you've been you've been missed by your friend. Yeah. Callum Phadion. If Liverpool beat
City on Sunday, the title is yours. No, shut the up. Okay. No, nothing is ours until the
last day of the season or until it's officially ours. No, no Liverpool fan is thinking like this at all.
so just letting you know i don't know what you're talking about
dawson damars you guys
oh you now you're using my tricks you should use
you should bring you should bring big balls back
i should i'll rubble across your face dawson de mars
are you guys watching arcane season two yet brilliant show no because i've been holding back
because i still have this idea in my head that i'm going to do reactions to them
yeah let's see if i can do it i don't know
I'm the reason I'm supposed to start Arcane season one recording my reactions as well.
Yeah.
And then get to two eventually.
Yeah.
Jordan, Ross, Winehold, Wicked, you can also bring kids in family.
You can.
You absolutely can.
It's PG, by the way.
So I noticed that because I asked Roxy when she saw it.
I asked if my seven-year-old could go see it.
And she said she thinks, and after seeing it, I think so too, although I asked my seven-year-old,
she wants, she's like, I don't, I don't want to see that.
Now is it.
But I think she, I, although she changed.
her tune she changed her tune the other day she said she wants she wanted to see it um she i don't know if she
i know she really wants to see moana she really wants to see moana so she'll probably she'll probably
see it she loves dancing and singing and all that stuff too so like put on survivor series i'd rather
watch that i wish i wish i they vivis completely bailed on wrestling but uh yeah i know yeah i know
but the little one if i like if i have her um if i if i if i turn on like resslmania she'll watch it
with me. She'll watch. Yeah. Tim Sim, after hearing how Wicked and Gladiator 2 is not exactly like
Barbenheimer, disregard my previous Super Chat. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving at.
Yeah, I mean, look, it's still like, it's still going to be compared. So it's like you're,
you're not wrong for asking that. I mean, it's it's it is that people are, people are,
people always try to recapture the magic of a certain thing that happened, you know,
totally. Yeah. Christopher Brickner, Lucasfilm saying they plan on many Ray projects is a mistake.
as Lucas film struggles to make one project, let alone multiple, focus on one rave film.
Look, I am the last person to be defending them right now because I kick them in the nuts
every time I have a conversation about them.
They didn't announce anything.
Right.
Boris Kit did a report on it and other people.
They didn't announce anything.
They haven't announced anything.
They haven't talked about anything.
They haven't even talked about Simon Kimberg.
Simon Kimberg talked about.
They haven't spoken about anything.
So they haven't now if you would have if you say Lucasfilm planning on many Ray projects is a mistake different conversation that we're having.
But them saying it, they never said anything.
Right.
They said it's Kenberg tweeted, as you said, it cameber posted on Instagram.
So he's confirming it in a roundabout way.
But until Disney or Lucasfilm comes out and confirms it, you don't know if it's actually happening.
So that's the situation there.
And look, I mean, if it does, if they do go the Ray route, that's all Kathleen Kennedy.
She wants a female-led Star Wars, solo female-led Star Wars film with Daisy Ridley and Ray.
And certainly Daisy Ridley said last week or two weeks ago how she's excited for the plans for the Ray movie or movies.
And so the fact that it was plural lets you know that they have been talking to her probably for a bit about coming back.
And I think this is the way she wanted to come back.
Don't bring me back for a one-off.
Bring me back to redeem the character to a bit a bit and have me be an essential part of this new trilogy.
So if they go that route, then that's, that's, it'll be interesting to see.
But I hear the complaints.
I understand.
People don't like Ray or days really or whatever, but I don't know.
You've got to have to give it a chance and see what happens.
I want to see what the plan is.
That's, my, I just want to know what the plan is.
Right.
It shows the plan.
Yeah.
We'll see what the plan is.
Mad Sinister McCall.
Loving, Wicked, over gladiator 2 was not on my 2024 bingo card.
I hate musicals and the only one I like prior was Sweenie Todd because of the throat slashing.
I will tell.
I think that, yeah, it's because.
it just shows you there's a reason why the broadway play was as popular as it was yeah it just it's got a good
message got good music uh it has good comedy um and it and it and it plays on nostalgia but it's all
it's all those things together there's a universality of experience how many of us have like
known what it's like to be like look at the other person who seems like they have it all right
and grow up with that that's a majority of us growing up we know that there's someone else who's
richer, prettier, more successful,
was more privileged, whatever the words you want to use.
And so there's a universality in Alphabet's
experience that I think a lot of people relate to
and the way they construct the musical and the movie
makes you connect with her much more strongly.
So by the end, you're like, in tears, cheering for her
in that final song.
Well, it's going to make me connect to more people
is to find out how many people signed up to Viya today.
That's what I'm doing.
You got some you can connect to.
Yeah, it's right.
Johnny Venerable.
clips I've seen of Jude Law and Skeleton crew look strong.
The ideal Star Wars tone, humor, presence, mistake not to lead with him.
Kids for me are a tough sell.
I mean, I think that they're trying to go for that amblin idea.
You know, that's what they're trying to do.
So my personal opinion on it is, yeah, I do think that if they're trying to get the brand back into a place that it was,
leading with a show with kids right now is not going to get the overall brand back.
But the decision was probably also made when they thought the acolyte was going to be a huge hit.
And all these other movies were going to be, the shows were going to be huge hit.
And then there was like one after the other disappointment after disappointment.
They're like, well, we have this.
They didn't even know which show was coming out first.
This or this or this or acolyte.
Probably at one point I was in, they probably should have done skeleton crew first.
But then no, because then you get acolyte now and then all the discourse and all that.
You get it out of the way.
You push it aside.
And then you put, you know, this one out there.
But I don't know.
Have you watched the clips?
No, I haven't seen any of the clips.
Oh, the Jude Law clips, yes.
I've seen those.
Did you watch the episode already?
I know that you have seen the episode.
I have not seen the episodes yet.
Okay.
Yeah, but I hear what you're saying with this person saying, but this is a show, like, they want to expand the brand.
This is a show made for the younger generation.
If a couple of 12-year-olds were hosting their show, they'd be like, why am I, why do I care about Andor?
They need to lead with the droids.
Like, it's just a different approach.
I'm not saying all 12-year-olds, but you could see the logic there where they'd be like, well, the way in is the kids for us.
That's why we want to see Skeleton girl.
We don't want to see old Jew law.
We don't care about old Jew law.
I do want to see the kids.
So it's all a matter of perspective.
So they're trying to expand the brand in that way.
D. Duvall 59.
I think act two of Wicked is pretty weak.
I'm hoping and praying that the movie improves on the play.
I haven't seen the play.
So I can't speak on that, but you've seen the play, John?
No, I haven't.
He said act two of the movie or act two of?
He's saying Act two of Wicked.
I can't speak on that. I don't know.
So I imagine it reminds me only Hunger Games because I remember the Hunger Games books.
I read all three of the Hunger Games books and I was like, there's no way they're going
to be able to make the movie, the third movie good because the book's not good.
Right.
And the book wasn't good. The movie wasn't good. It's the same story and this wasn't good.
So I don't know if that's the same case here for for Wicked too, but I hear that it gets
quite dark is from what they what they say.
Yes. But but also like I think the Wizard of Oz people get.
involved so maybe that's there's something gonna flesh out for for part oh like
dorothy and the crew is that oh is that okay that's interesting because it's a prequel
this this yeah and then leading into yeah yeah i'm curious to how that's gonna it would make
sense because i there's i don't want to spoil stuff because there's so many questions i have to
see the movie that i was like well wait a minute what about this in the movie that that person
seems different than they were in us but it's not like the movie made it up that's what the
play did so uh mike joyce i think i would have liked gladiator two
more if it was whatever movie Denzel was in or if everyone else was on his level.
Yeah, he was, I mean, it did get, it was, it was a little over the top at times.
There's no doubt about it.
And it was like, it was, and it was very convenient at times too.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Denzel.
Yeah.
Uh, Hank Pimp, good question.
What are the rules on a social media reaction?
So this is why, like, because I, there's nothing I hate more than people when they write on
my out of the theater.
How's this different review?
Because I don't, because review is.
is like a five minute to seven minute video talking about everything that you can talk about.
A reaction is essentially the same thing that you would say in like Twitter.
If you look at my out of the theater reactions, most of them is the beginning,
the first like 15 seconds is telling you, like, hey, I just went and saw this.
This is the new movie with so and so and so and so.
A reaction if there's an embargo on it is usually, okay, here's the overall thoughts of,
how did it look, how was the acting, how did this do,
how did the same thing you're going to kind of summarize inside of a tweet.
And you can't, you don't make it a review.
If you were actually reviewing the film, people who say that are, are not being smart.
Because it's just not, it's not, it's a five minute thing.
And that's why the studios, every studio I've talked to is like, yeah, that's not a review.
It's a, that's a, that's a, that's a, that's the same thing that people are tweeting,
but you're saying it on video.
That's right.
That's a social reaction.
So that's the difference.
Yeah, 100%.
Um, Christopher Brickner.
Dan Merle said that Lucas Lowe should do elseworld continuity Star Wars film adapting legend stories as there are more stories for characters like Luke Han Leia.
Do you agree with his idea?
Yeah.
I mean, so I, yes, essentially I do.
But I agree with it if someone else was running the company.
I don't agree with them doing it.
I definitely don't agree with Dave Faloni doing it because Dave Faloni doesn't like any of the books and doesn't like those things and all that stuff.
So no.
So if the idea.
idea, yes, them doing it, no.
Yeah, I think I'd have to agree with you on that.
The idea of it is exciting and interesting and certainly it would be a new way to kind of
explore Star Wars and as I said, expand the brand.
But yeah, I don't trust the people in charge now to be able to pull that off effectively.
Yeah.
And nor should you, honestly.
I really don't think so.
No, I'm secretly hoping that every project gets canceled and that they get to a place
where just like Bob Eiger's like knocking on the door waiting and he's like guys just I can't do this
anymore I got I got to let you all go or they all show up on a Monday morning and all the doors
he just locked he just locked the locks yeah it's like yeah I'm trying to like pry it open uh rangers
fan 1996 Christian what trailers do you recommend releasing to love the show love the people I said
that was a thing from the other day I said instead of saying reacting to the trailers I said a
release to it. I would say that another man's wife is the is the best trailer to release to.
Pete Parker 2288. Red one looks fun, but I'm not expecting much. What do you think of the 91%
audience score on Rotten Tomatoes? I will probably stream it close to Christmas because I'm not
surprised at all by that score at all because it's not a bad movie. And it's one of these things
that if if you especially if you expect it to be god awful and you go and that was fun it was
entertaining it was a holiday movie it was a good spirit there's a good there's like a nice heart
behind it um so and this is also why i don't think you know when people people we always talk
about it john how people don't really understand how rotten tomatoes works with the yeah yeah we say
like past a three so most people out of the audience is giving it over a three out of five doesn't
surprise me at all yeah yeah the rock is good with the audience the rock loves his audience
The Rock makes certain movies. He knows that the audience is going to appeal to. And people love the Rock.
People do. So you're looking at the audience score, right? That's, that makes sense.
Those aren't critics necessarily. Critics are looking for something else when they go to watch a movie, right?
They're looking at story. They're looking at this. Not to say that fans don't. I'm just saying the responsibilities are different.
So you're going to get different scores sometimes. And that's how it goes. And, you know, the Rock has been living off those audience scores over the last few movies as opposed to the critics score.
but all of them haven't done well.
So no matter what, the 91% or whatever,
if these films aren't making money or doing profits at the box office,
in the end, you have to default that the critics are right.
It's true.
Yeah, right now you're saying to 52, John.
52.
Nice.
Thank you.
Hank Pim, this is kind of a follow-up from last week.
I'm curious to how you're going to respond to this one,
because this is something that you said last week and you were incorrect about.
Was I?
Yes, you were.
So I'm going to disappear.
like people do Hank Pym says the wise man is back and he brought a friend what are your predictions
for survivor series also why are they completely cucking out Gunther with priest well I'm gonna that
last part I don't know anything about because they didn't watch it but you last wrong you said that
they were going to bring in Seth Rollins oh yes I thought it would be Seth and I didn't like the idea but
right and they brought in did you see CM Punk coming at all did and by the way this is I think today
yesterday was the what uh celebration of punk coming back the year uh it's been a year since punk came
back to w w which is crazy how quickly a year can go yep um and i was spending like 20 minutes this morning
watching people's posted reactions on ticot from that year which is great to see people's reactions
yeah so i i think it's an interesting decision i hope they have a bigger story planned out because
people are already looking at the fact that uh paul haman is like throwing his phone away that paul haman
is hugging Jay and Jimmy, but not hugging Roman.
Is Paul Heyman using Punk to sink the bloodline and go against Reins and turn him into a mega face?
I don't know.
It's an interesting situation.
With punk, you've really got, you kind of hit the limit on the face stuff.
So maybe a heel turn is coming and heel punk is always great.
That's where I would go with it.
I'd go with it is that you reconnect punk and Paul Heyman together because look, it was great to see Paul Hamman get a pop as a baby face.
It was great to see it and he deserves it. He deserves it. But he's great as a heel.
Yeah. And you want to see him down the line, change and him and Punk team up. And as you say, have him, Paul Heyman punk together. He'll let Roman be the baby face to a punk versus Roman feud. You can't lose. And build this up now while you have it with the bloodline. So I think that's it. It was a very smart plan. I thought good writing on that part to not do Seth Rollins.
Yeah. And everybody did the fingers up and he just did this. And that let you.
you know where punk is at on the whole thing so smart necks 2890 good morning everybody
send in in support and saying thanks for everything you guys do thank you neeks going
through some personal stuff and you guys have helped greatly well thank you and i'm so nice to
hear that so i really really appreciate that and and i'm glad that we can bring you some laughs here
and some and some entertainment if you yeah so quit your crying man up and state your stuff
real nice there is neeks comes back and says what are some things you guys do to get out of your
head or help you through tough times. Happy Monday, everybody. Let's get Roka back on top.
You're getting close to it. 54. For me, music. Music does it. Sometimes, honestly,
a walk with music usually always helps me. Depends on the mood. Sometimes I'll have a potential
playlist to get me out of funks, but sometimes I dive into the funk and play music that's really
going to push me into that spot and then I get out of it. But it's a, but, but music is usually
the way that I go. Yeah, I think that's a great point you bring up, Christian. I think we've all been there.
I've talked about it. Certainly, I know we've talked about it separately.
And you're right. Sometimes depending how strong you feel, it's good to go through it.
You've got to go through it to come out the other side.
Other times it's about if you're feeling really kind of like overwhelmed,
it's doing these little things that help you get through those moments with some joy or some peace.
Heavy, deep breaths work really well.
The music, depending on the music you listen to can work really well.
A hike out in nature can be surprisingly intoxicatingly well for your.
your soul or a workout and just even going for 30 minutes to the gym on the treadmill or on the
elliptical all of that can kind of get your blood flowing in an in a better place or a good movie
but i know for me i've i now listen to a lot of like blade runner mixes on youtube when i'm in a
really bad place just kind of close my eyes and for like 30 minutes listen to that synthesizer type
there's a lot of ambient blade runner music and that's what kind of settles my mind so you got to find
what works for you i've been listening a lot too since we did the um reaction
to glad i've glad to uh warrior i've been listening to that soundtrack again oh yeah good sound
i think i'm gonna jing i know i'm gonna jinx it but i'm pretty sure i'm getting frank grillo
on the show oh love frank yeah so i think we're gonna i'll be talking i'll be talking to him about
not only warrior but i'll bring up he's got yeah you got we're got we're world's you got
you got uh superman so i'll talk about all that stuff uh renetta
what's what he's got a podcast too so that oh he does okay i didn't know that i got to listen
that he's good stuff you got let's do it's good stuff
uh what's up this is from renetta w saw gladiator this weekend and i had a good time mescal was great
and denzel was denzel uh glimpses of training day i was giggling throughout it i had fun excited
for wicked this coming weekend more fun i think that's a point though too right it does look like
there's a lot of crossover though where people who did see gladiator wasn't like one of the other well i
saw wicked so i'm not going to see gladiator was like there's a lot of crossover people move that the movie is
definitely you know not for everybody wicked but it is definitely bringing people over
we just saw how many people who didn't like musicals just want to it's it's a beautiful
looking film too yeah beautiful absolutely both of them are yeah yeah dude I saw so I will say
that that I'm glad the reason one of the main reasons I'm glad I went to that screening
that regal screening in in Times Square at the I don't I always forget which theater it was
the four XD but I can't I can remember which one it was
40x yeah is that what it was it was that there was two there's two there's it wasn't the 3d one okay
maybe that was is that so that was the one anyway this screen was massive yeah yeah so and the sound
and everything it's my it might be my favorite movie theater i've ever gone to wow it just was like
so locked into it and the screen it was just but it wasn't like because iMac sometimes is so
drawing that if you sit in anywhere except the back row you know this one was
was like so I was like right in the middle yeah there was enough space that if somebody had to
pee or anything to you walk out without you know excuse me pardon me oh sorry sorry excuse me like it was
i loved it i absolutely loved it and i'm usually an amc guy but like i loved that regal theater
yeah i got a regal like 10 minutes from the house whenever there's anything on 40x or 3d i run right
over that and watch it yeah beautiful theater ian davis young avengers is coming out i would
love to see old Avengers who would you guys cast as the original team in the 2012 version if
we were going old i don't think do you understand that i don't because i would just recast everybody
and put beard i would love to see old avengers who would you guys cast as the original team in the
2012 version if we were going old i don't really know what that means yeah maybe i guess he's
trying to say like old if you were to go in 2012 and make old avengers in 2012 who would play the
old tony stark the old yeah i don't know it's a good question i
I don't know.
It's always, and it's harder for me.
Every time I get these, I always feel bad when people send in the casting questions
because that's always like thinking about it in that amount of time.
It doesn't get enough justice to it.
I just, you know who I did see giving a lot?
This is not going to answer that question, but who I did see giving a lot of interviews lately?
What's he promoting Josh Brolin?
Oh, shit.
Oh, is it?
I think his memoir just came out.
Because he's everywhere.
He's everywhere.
He's just like someone you can't.
I mean, there's clips of him everywhere.
Yeah, Howard Stern.
Yeah, I've seen that too.
Everywhere.
I just saw a whole clip of him where he almost fought Denzel.
Yes.
He put his hand on his shoulder.
Yeah.
I saw that clip.
That clip popped up and like, I didn't even know.
So that was, so he's out there a lot too.
I would love to have him on the show.
I love to talk to another guy.
Gosh.
Great.
Pete Parker 2288.
I'm loving Landman.
Anyone watching?
You watching it?
Do you like it?
I watched, they sent us the first five episodes on on the Critics Choice app.
And I watched it.
It's excellent.
I love, look, Lioness is my favorite so far of all of them.
But like, Landman is a close second.
I really enjoying Landman.
So yeah, Yellowstone, get out of here with that.
And I haven't seen 1883 and I haven't seen 1923.
Oh, 18, those three.
You got to watch you.
You would love 1883.
I know, I know.
I got to let me finish Lioness and I will move into that.
1818.
This house is becoming a Taylor Sheridan house because the lady outlaw loves the
Taylor shared and stuff too.
Turn on, 1883 is so up your alley.
It's so up your alley.
And Isabel May, who is just, she's a superstar.
She just got cast in Scream 7 as, no, nice.
As Neck Campbell's daughter.
Nice.
Nick Vaughn.
I'm watching Sonic 3 just for Shadow.
The family friend tone and humor doesn't work for me, including Jim Carrey,
brings super over the top and silly.
It's fair.
I think it's a mixture.
I mean, I think that they kind of aim it.
There's a lot of heart to it.
it but i still think they aim it towards uh families and stuff i like jim in those movies i'm happy to see
jim doing comedy yeah me too he did there's there's this thing in the trailer that just came out was such a jim
carey move like the body movement and all of it's very classic um christopher bickner
star wars needs to look at marvel dc star trek etc balance new stories with old characters
with new characters in different eras you mentioned star trek okay i just can't i it's like
Everything you said is right.
But it's like, but it's, but you just, you basically, it's like when John talks about football, not, not American football, he talks about soccer.
Yeah.
The glaze that goes in my eyes.
That's the glaze that would go on if you said that to Kathleen Kennedy.
And that's, that's the glaze.
They don't, they don't even really.
They have no clue about what they're doing over there.
Buster Barnes.
Thoughts on Sergeant Rock and Clayface DCU rumors.
Personally, I'm excited.
but are these projects too niche for the general audience?
Obviously, we don't know the playing yet.
Sergeant Rock has been in the works since I was doing Joel Silverhead.
Yeah.
We're trying to get that.
Bruce Willis and Schwarzenegger were rumored.
Yes.
And Bruce, Bruce Willis, yes, 100% because of the diehard connection, all that.
But it's going to be canon, but it'd also be in the 60s or whatever, too.
So it won't really connect as much.
So I do think it'll happen because I think they're going to do those side projects.
The Clayface thing, I don't know.
a lot about what do you say john yeah i mean the clay face thing is interesting because you're
bringing in mike flanagan who of course is now a horror god icon so i think it's a smart move
i think for me when you strip it all the way it's incredible the james the the uh collection of
directors he is acquiring to be part of these projects him and peters affid in dc and water
brothers it's pretty fantastic you know they'll across the board look guadalanino for sergeant rock
no one saw that come in such an interesting choice is him and daniel kre yes he is directed
that's the thing so if they're like they're they're working out the deals and if they lock this thing down for real
daniel crag of luca guadino uh in the sergeant rock movie it would be super incredible so here's a question
for you here's a question for you because luca likes to use people that he's worked with yes they just did queer
with uh dano craig he's also but he's also doing a movie that's coming out what's what's what's the
um shoot what's the american psycho one or one with the actress from uh from the bear
Iota Biry?
Yeah.
Yes.
Because he's doing one with her and Julia Roberts.
Yes.
Yes.
The question is,
well,
we finally see Julia Roberts in a comic book movie.
No way.
No way.
She could,
I mean,
that's a kind of movie that she would pop up in it in like a period piece.
You want to see Christian Harloff work a red carpet again?
Put Julie Robert.
Red carpet.
I told,
I told my talent book.
I said,
I will fly.
I will fly somewhere to do an interview.
You get me if you,
I won't do.
I would.
No, but even if they, but no, but if they said three minutes, I'll tell you, I'd turn it down.
If they, at three minutes, I'm going to do a three minute interview with her.
You would do three minutes with Julia?
No.
Tenor, ten or ten or that's it.
But if you get three, at least you can get to know you and get to know you.
Get to know you.
She'll be like, oh, you know what?
I'll give them ten next time.
My intro would be three minutes.
Yeah, that's true.
I'll never, I'll never forget.
Now, I hated.
When I did this Fandango things, I pitched fan.
I can't even tell you how many times and I still haven't done it they still haven't done it which is baffling to me
I pitched them a long form interview show because they would make you they had such great access to everybody
Fandango yeah Fandango does you have to everybody and I was like look at all the we just mentioned is Josh
Brolin thing look at all these clipouts that come out of these shows that blow channels up right I just had Kate I was talking to katie sack off and I were going back and for them
was helping her with her thing and I said you got to start a clips channel thing she's like really why do you think so I said you have to
She started the clips channel up.
It's already got 12,000 subscribers.
She's pulling crazy views on it.
She's getting more notice on her thing.
And it seems to Josh Horowitz,
Theo Von, everybody's got these clips channel.
How Fandango doesn't do this in a long form thing,
they would have me sit down with these people,
Harrison Ford and all these people were saying,
and I was so happy to do it.
But I asked, they give, ask these questions,
these questions.
And I'm like, this is a generic question
that everybody asks.
And then it's over.
Then the interview's over within seconds
because they're bouncing people back and forth.
And you do, when you do these 45 minutes to an hour,
you get to know it's more conversational and all these different things.
And then you can cut the shit out of them as far as clips go.
And Fandango would get more and more.
I don't understand how Fandango does not have.
And I say this, I say this bias,
but I also say it because it's a no-brainer.
How Mark Ellis does not have an hour-long show of an interview show for Fandango is criminal.
it's criminal and he's and he's never said anything to I've never even talked to him about I'm just saying like Mark is Mark is Mark he's the most likable human being in the world he should be doing a you know what you know I say that because I saw his interview he's pretty damn likable I saw his interview from with with Tom Hanks and and and Robin Wright and he had a 20 minutes I was a fucking guy a show anyway go pie it's tough to break through because you know there's just people have been there there are dinosaurs at
mandango if you know what i mean and they they've you know they're all locked in and they're desperate to hold
on to their position but even the dinosaurs don't have an hour long show how do they not have an hour
long show give the dinosaurs the damn show who called Jurassic interview i don't care but do whatever
whatever it might be it's like how they don't have an hour long show is crazy that's crazy
um okay go pie busy this week but happy thanksgiving thanks man really appreciate that yeah you too
hope everybody has a great great great uh thanksgiving and then no fights try not to fight
evil john madden i wasn't here last week but that tyson fight made one thing evident um no not writing this
i'm not reading this whole thing i'm not reading it i'll just say that is it about is it about
no it's just he's he's trying to get you to go nuts um but i mean women he just i'll just summarize
it which i disagree he he says women shouldn't be commentating sports and he said rosy prez was awful
is not i'll i'll agree with that rosy prox is that i agree with that i'll agree with that rosy
was awful. Your other, your other statement is stupid. Yeah, there's plenty of female commentators
who are better than some of the male comment. Great. That's a stupid comment. Orca 447. From the
movies left in the year, which will join Inside Out, oops, this is from Orca 447, from the movies
left in the year, which will join Inside Out 2 and Deadpool and Wolverine on surpassing the
billion mark. Moana 2 is the only one that I think I have a chance. I don't know. Moana 2
could depends on what the opening weekend is like
I don't think Moana 2 is going to do it I think
honestly the only one that's got a shot right now
if it delivers is Mufasa
I think Mufasa and
Wicked are probably the two
biggest ones that have a chance to cross a billion
but Mawana I think is
I mean yes the initial reviews
because they invited certain people to go
we're very positive but we're starting to see
some other reviews that aren't so positive about
Moana too so we will see how that affects it
But I think those are the only two that I think we're going to cross a billion, to be honest.
Yeah.
So funny.
Someone asked if New York trains are safe again, not the subway.
I've been taking the, I mean, I take the subway too, but I've been taking the long, the road is super safe.
But it was so funny.
I was like, I was sitting there.
And it's amazing how this happened.
It was almost like I summoned it to happen.
I was, because I always see all these Twitter videos, all the subway craziness that happened.
Oh, yeah. So I'm sitting on the subway and I'm like, and I had taken a bunch of trips.
I'm like, I haven't seen any of this stuff too.
Is this like fabricated stuff within three minutes?
Sky walks on the train and he's got half a shoe on and everything to do.
He's like, I sing that old time rock and roll and he's going back and forth and he's looking at people and he's just like, yeah, yeah.
And I'm like, my stop coming up?
it's just like it.
So there you go.
It's a shame that, you know, people are unfortunately suffering just things like that.
But yeah, man, it's, it's an insane thing to experience for sure.
Christopher Creel is letting me know that the mustard is a reference to Kendrick.
Oh, okay.
Well, to me, the mustard will always be the mad hatter.
So mustard.
Let's don't be silly.
Evil John Madden, can't believe that Washington lost to the Cowboys.
Yeah, either can I.
That was a rough one, man.
That was crazy game.
Crazy game.
He's even John Madden's really, really going for it today.
But we're still in playoff contention where the Cowboys are not.
Jake Akivato, what up, Jake.
Hey.
I talked to Jimmy Hart's talent agent.
He can't do podcasts because of his WWE contract.
Really?
He said he could get Matt Hardy for $700 for $15 minutes.
Wow.
I don't think it's worth it, but would you pay for it?
No.
No.
Matt Hardy, $700 for 15 minutes?
just so we can do this the whole time delete delete delete no no that that is that is clearly
you can see like how the people in that business have really made a made a profit on
trying to exploit everything that they can right yeah seven if you're paying seven hundred
dollars for 15 minutes for an interview you you got you got problems um not not you jake
i'm just saying in general they don't don't do that um evil john madden let's say i can't do it
i'm not doing it john no why because he's using kind of like
He's trying to pull like the racist rhetoric.
I'm not afraid.
Like I'm not afraid to.
I'm not reading it.
I'm not reading it.
John in the show, Alex Cross, were a wash, whatever the Washington used to be.
The name scarf.
How do you critique a lady of color that wore this so dumb that they changed the name?
Oh, I love the name change.
I know.
I think it was time.
I mean, I'm with a Native American woman whose family is very, has been adamant about changing the name,
including someone who works for the NFL is part of her family and was very adamant about having
the name changed. So I am happy that the name changed. It doesn't take away any of my memories
as a kid being a fan of the skins and watch them win Super Bowls under Joe Gibbs and all of that.
So the name change isn't that big of a deal. People make such a big deal out of this nonsense.
And it's like, hey, there's not the wrong with respecting other cultures and changing the name.
It's not a big deal. And so having, but having people want to wear the scarves and still want to
represent the old name, that's their personal choice.
I will say, like, I like the commander's name better than the Guardians.
Yeah, which Cleveland did.
Yeah, I agree.
Terrible.
A terrible name.
Haskell 69.
Where the ladies at?
Hashtag smash that big light button.
Thank you.
Please.
Please.
What are the ladies?
Armada.
Dice as, I don't think you, did you get this?
Were you here when they asked to?
Yeah, it was a great question.
They asked Andrew Jeff Snyder playing Andrew Dice Clay or Andrew Dice Clay playing Jeff Snyder.
I chose Dice playing Snyder.
Dice playing Snyder would be incredible.
Hey, you got a scoop for me.
Sidney, falls across the note.
Armada.
Dice as Snyder for Ford Fairlane reboot.
I mean, we're talking about the movie on the show.
I think that's why he's mentioning it.
We talked about Ford Fairlane on Hot Mike and how both of us,
like that film and still think it should be it should be re-appreciated yeah artem says roxy versus john
debate should be on pay-per-view yeah i'm telling you that's going to be a that's going to be a long show
you can give me a cut i give me a cut i'll do johnny venerable seven hundred dollars for 50 yes
yeah right exactly thoughts on reports on asoka season two is a final series good yeah it means yeah
it's good then it should lead into the movie that he's going to do if he's going to actually do it and
And let's put this thing to bet.
They're lucky to have gotten a season two.
So this idea that, oh, no, you know, it's only a season two.
It could be the final season.
Yes.
Every season, every creator should operate under the fact that this could be their final season.
I think you're going to get the best work out of people mostly if you make it clear that if you do well, you'll get another season.
If you don't, you won't.
And it's that clear from the beginning.
So I think this is a good thing to be honest with you.
Yeah, me too.
Haskell 420.
hey guys in case i don't have the chance happy thanksgiving to you and your family you too at john while
you promote your channel show you always forget to push game time with you and winston on game time
sports channel oh yeah the game time sports channel which is changing because i'm going to start moving
the wrestling stuff over there as well so it'll be game time it'll be sports and wrestling
pro wrestling there but yes winston and i because uh mostly i forget because uh ed we don't we don't
lock down our show like i still haven't heard it back from winston when he can do the show either today or
tomorrow so it's tough to promote it when we don't we don't have consistent time but i hear what you're saying yes
If you guys want to hear Winston and I talk about the NFL every week, it is at the game time YouTube sports channel.
It's not on the main channel anymore of the Outlaw Nation.
It's its own channel.
So thank you, Ed.
Appreciate that.
Evil John Madden saying something nice here.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
I don't know what to make of them.
It happens with some of this stuff sometimes that he's like, John, Matt, you don't know what to make it.
I really don't.
I guess that's why he's evil, John Matt.
Oh, right there.
A woman of color.
Boom.
And happy Thanksgiving right afterwards.
Johnny Venerable.
I love Eroka.
But trying to expand the Star Wars brand with kids for kids.
It's a mistake.
The original Star Wars film No Kids in 77 was beloved by kids and adults.
I don't disagree with that.
Yeah, but they're trying new things, man.
I mean, new things ain't working.
People want new things and then they don't want new things.
There's no satisfying the fans.
There isn't.
It's all about quality, right?
So you hope that you're doing great things when you try to do new things
and you're hoping you're doing great things when you try to play to the nostalgia.
it's not always going to work so i'm not saying they're right to do this i'm just saying i understand
why they're doing it yeah i know what the results would be john wats is a positive yes a great
positive the idea of what they're trying to do it's a positive i yes i just want to see what the
originally i think i feel like i know what the tone is already um and i'm i'm going to be able to
say because that people already disagree me that it's what i've seen in the trailer doesn't feel like
traditional star wars it just doesn't it feels like a cool amblin kind of space adventure which might
be great it might be great it might but i might i might say like hey it didn't really feel like star
wars to me and people will push back because it's supposed to feel like but i'm going to say
in general is it a good show that's all i care about is it a good show and i hope it's a good show
right did you get the episodes by the way not yet not yet did they come out maybe i haven't
I haven't checked my I haven't checked I haven't gotten them yet either that's supposed to come out at 9 a.m.
this morning.
All right, let's check.
Armada, new piano lessons, movie thoughts.
I didn't, have you watched that yet?
No, it's an August Wilson play.
It's on Netflix.
The Lady Outlaw, big fan of August Wilson.
She let me know that it was, it dropped on Netflix.
So we're going to watch it at some point this week probably.
Probably over Thanksgiving.
JP Burnett, Brunette.
Love what you guys do.
I don't understand making a new Harry Potter Hogwarts series when they are so many more stories to explore,
i.e. Tom Riddle's past, Ascaband, and other schools around the world. Well, I think the answer to your question is by doing this first, because there's so much that they left out of those books that you can turn. I am a big advocate of turning classic books into series. Because you imagine if, like, Game of Thrones would have been movies. Yeah. Yeah. There's been so much that they would have left on the table and you probably got three movies out of all the condensed stuff that you had. And some people would have been better.
I don't agree with that.
I think that you got a chance to expand on characters,
live in that world for a long time,
and I want to see what they do with Harry Potter there
and explore some of the stuff that they left out.
And then you can lead into everything that you're talking about, JP.
I feel like you're on the same page with that, John.
Yeah, yeah, they're wiping away the movies, in essence.
You can still have big memories or whatever,
but they're wiping away the movies to restart the franchise.
And the point to restart it is to have exactly what you're asking for,
laying a foundation of what the Harry Potter franchise is now going forward,
who these actors are, who these characters are, what the stories are.
And then from there, they're going to expand past the books to do spin-off stuff that will do exactly what you're suggesting that they do.
But they have to establish a new foundation first.
And then from there, they'll spin off and do whatever.
So, yeah.
Haskell.
Christian, this is the best.
I'm sorry, everybody.
Haskell wins the day with this super chat.
If you still have cable, WPIX-11 announced March of the Wooden Soldiers is back on Thanksgiving.
Black and White versus 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. is a colorized version. It's one of my favorite. My dad
loved that movie. I used to watch it. Oh, it's Laurel and Hardy, man. You don't know. Oh, right. With Barnaby.
That's right. It's just, it's just such a great Christmas movie. Right, because they're dressed up in like the Nutcracker stuff or whatever.
They live in Toiland. They live in Toiland. And it's like everything. Oh, the Boogieman. It's the best. I love, love that. I've seen that movie so many times.
Evil John Madden there he is.
Hey Christian when you don't wear a hat or glasses you look all like Aaron Hernandez.
Thank you so much.
Oh my God.
Jesus.
Someone wrote who's Aaron Hernandez.
Like don't don't look it up.
Brian McGuvern.
40x is still a thing.
I find it so annoying.
I can't.
I don't know.
There were two screenings.
One was the 40X and what was the other thing?
I can't remember.
It was there was no gimmick attached.
It was a big huge screen.
Like one of the biggest screens I've ever seen in my life.
And it was just it was like I felt like it was like a really great television.
but it was they have 40x r px real d3d and then the standard stuff what's the rdx which is the rdx is that the thing that
that that thing yes r px is what i saw but they didn't but they weren't doing the bouncing around and stuff
at that time but that was it uh christopher brickner refraising my first chat it's a mistake
for lucas film to plan many ray projects they struggle with one project let alone many focus on
one rate project first agree 100 percent i think we both do right yeah yeah yeah
Yeah. Hey, Christian, this is Carver T. I live in New York City and the theater on 42nd is great,
but I do highly recommend the massive Dolby screening they have on 67th Broadway. I go there.
I think you wrote that on a comment, Carver. I go. I went to, I mean, I'm going tonight.
Actually, that's where that's where the screening is. You're talking about the one on AMC, right? So that's the one.
But there is one on, oh, you're talking about, are you talking about the uptown one in Regal?
because or the downtown one a regal i don't i can't i can't remember uh either one did i've been i haven't been
i've been i've been to that regal the other one it's first i saw venom but it wasn't that it wasn't
that a big screen or anything um okay so right now you're at 67 john is something close so we at let's see
and this is shea markell why don't you like triple frontier i love it oh it's a bunch of dick swinging
slamming into each other trying to look everyone trying to look tough and then is that to draw a
Butler one no it's the one with Ryan Reynolds and like Ben Affleck and what is the who else is in
this like all these action guys are in this movie oh yeah Oscar Isaac's in this movie and
who else was in yeah Charlie Hunnam Garrett Headlin a J.R Jonah from and or Pedro
Pascal it's a strong cast but like when you watch the movie it's just like oh
Check it out. Carver Tate. I meant Christian. Sorry for all the typos, writing them as I work from gig to gig. No sweat, Carver. It's all right. And then Kai Peterson, baby carrots, missing Ellis. Bring him on soon. I got to get him on soon. I think I want to get him in here in studio. I think that's kind of the first time I want to bring him in.
Oh, yeah. Get him in studio when he's, because he's in New York sometimes. So I'd like to get him in here.
Paige Chaudry, lady is here happy. Thanksgiving. I'm looking for it. I want some mashed potato.
potatoes with butter and gravy just piling over the side.
That's what I want.
Yeah.
Chip champ razor or clip champ ravers, excuse me.
Odds we see Moon Knight again through Secret Wars.
I think we'll see him again.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think you're going to see everybody again for Super Wars.
Yeah.
Even She Hulk?
Yes.
I think so too.
Yeah.
Kingsport Count.
Will Jonathan Majors make a comeback?
What's up, guys?
I do think he'll make a comeback.
It's a good question.
I do think he'll make a comeback.
And would you know what people haven't been covering?
Um, is ex-erophant dropped a lot of the charges.
Yes.
Um, we talked about that on, on hot mic last week.
And so do I think that means that Kang's going to come back?
No, I think they're going to cut their losses and say, let it is. It is what it is. See you.
See you later. And if they do, they'll probably recast them. I think that they, for now,
they're going to say no to Jonathan Majors. But I, I think if there's a lot of people who have had
mishaps and a lot of people who have had a lot of real, I've done a lot of bad shit and have come back.
So, yeah, I think he'll come back.
Yeah, I miss what we talked about on spill of the tequila,
the episode Friday with me and Winston A talking because that's when it dropped the story right before we started.
And yeah, she's dropped that she settled.
It's not that she dropped the church, she settled the civil suit.
So clearly Jonathan paid.
And Jonathan paid to a certain amount that satisfied her.
Now they're washing their hands of it.
He's engaged to Megan good.
So like his life has moved on.
And I think people are now going to open the door for the possibility.
because look, it was terrible what you saw,
and a lot of people were split one way or the other.
But look, we all been in shitty toxic relationships.
We've all been in, if you have enough of them,
you get in some bad ones,
and we don't want to be judged by just that relationship.
So things went down, stuff was bad.
He served his time.
He got adjudicated.
And then now I think people are actually going to open the door.
I think if Stigle Wars was about five years from now,
maybe, maybe you could bring him back,
but you'd have to bring him back in service of doom.
and I don't know that majors would necessarily want to do that.
But I think you will come back.
Evil John Madden.
Hey, John, please do Geek Buddies Live.
I would love to comment and interact with you guys.
It would be fun.
Yeah, come tonight at 7 p.m. PT on the Outlaw Nation channel.
We'll be doing a review of Wicked.
Come on in.
Nerds Engage does it again.
He just gifted five people memberships to the channel.
Very kind.
Armada.
Anthony Coomia does good diet.
impression on Stern yeah I wonder if it's the same guy that I saw in a clip with
with Jim Jim Norton because he did he did a pretty good and then nerds engaged
did five more memberships man nice he's he's nerds engages like is have most
members that we have is because the nerds engage Carver Tate I was talking about

nerds engage gifted one more membership thank you sir and it's pushed it to 74
because of that. Hey. Yeah. The dart double 05. I sense a lot of big dick energy from Roca.
Christian, can you confirm? No. No, he cannot physically confirm.
Buster Barnes. I never had complaints, though. There you go. There we go. It's that's right after
some fire. Buster Barnes would be cool if we got the JSA in Sergeant Rock. What is that? The Justice
Society of America. That's who was in Black Adam, right? Yeah, but
those won't be the justice society right because um i could be cool but like you know let's see how
superman goes he's going to be throwing a lot of characters of superman if he gets that right then yes
a hundred percent let's welcome multi-character movies i'm in yeah we did it oh that's it you end today
at 75 all right so i just did a screenshot of nothing all right here we go so 75 john now
basically step it's all in a table between step and brett because tomorrow
Tomorrow, as I told you guys, I'm just kidding, you're at 76 because we got Armada.
Snyder, Roka, Christian, Kalanowski, Sarah, and Roxy, a show with all those together would be bananas.
And Christian, did you listen to the new LL Cool J album yet?
I did not, but I remember you bringing that up last time, and I need to.
I heard it was pretty good.
But, yeah, you guys, I mean, I don't know if I can control all you guys on one.
You and Snyder, you and Snyder alone would be enough to try to handle.
and Kalinowski, he doesn't shut up anyway.
Matt Sarah,
self-reclaimed ADHD spokesperson.
And then, and then Roxy, yeah, that would be, that would be craziness.
I wouldn't hold on to, there's no world I'd be able to do it.
You'd be like Ben Hurd with all those horses.
That would not be easy.
No, no, I would lose my mind.
By the way, by the way.
A lot of people reaching out.
A lot of people want this Shmowdown Legends tour.
Sure.
I haven't had, I didn't have one person say we would donate the 50,
thousand dollars now one person said that everybody can want it and everybody can want it right but
this i think we can do a kickstart i don't think we can do a patreon but i think we can do a kickstart i think
we can't do kickstart i'm just throwing it out there sure go ahead tell me how it goes pldd projects i
remember the early roca star wars days too he didn't even know bestman oh oh oh pld still coming in
what a shot on that the guy who wrote the worst wrestling questions ever for a uh a showdown match
PLB. Well, yeah.
What is the finishing move of Kenny
Omega? You know, come
up, PLD. All right.
Anyway, so we did it.
Education, what do you expect? All right, thank you.
Listen, before tomorrow, remember that.

I got Tina coming in, and I think we're going to do this.
I think we're going to try to get Sonic on Friday.
The MCU rewatch will take one break this week because Sam obviously doing stuff with the family,
but we're going to do, we're going to record a bunch of them.

We've got Iron Man.
We're going to do Iron Man 2 for the following week.

Broca doesn't even know.
Now he's, yeah.
All right.
Thank you guys.
You guys are the best.
I appreciate it very, very much.
And we'll see you guys on the flip side.
Bye-bye.
