GENTLEBANDS: Use code KHCHANNEL for 15 percent off! https://bit.ly/3y7JCqP Comic Con San Diego 2024 is in the books and the MCU returned after being absent last year. At first, it seemed as if they we...re just announcing the movies that have been shot or are just about to shoot. Then, at the end, they dropped some nuggets. Not only were the beloved Russo Bros returning to direct both Avengers movies, but they also announced a new villain Doctor Doom, a new title Doomsday, and a "new" actor to play him. Robert Downey Jr was announced to play the villainous Viktor Von Doom. Is this a good move or is it very desperate? The reactions seem to be split among the fans. In this video, we discuss the latest Marvel Studios news from Comic Con, including the surprising announcement of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers Secret Wars and Avengers Doomsday. What does this mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Is the return of Robert Downey Jr. the boost the MCU needs or a sign of desperation? We'll also touch on the latest updates on the Fantastic Four, the future of Deadpool and Wolverine after they crushed and broke all box office records, and what's next for the Merc with the Mouth. Now, if you're watching my show recently, you saw me bring up gentle bands. Well, I get to bring them up again.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Check this out. I'm opening this one up just for you. Last time I got a pretty good looking ring with this one. This is the sports ring collection. It is the Athlos, and it's a tribute to the Olympics, and it celebrates the eternal spirit of sports that people have developed over the century. Gentle bands chose Athos as their collection name. Greek word meaning a contest or competition encompassing any kind of feat or a challenge and
Starting point is 00:01:39 you can see it. Look at that. That is a thick ring and that feels like the gods made it. Look at that. It feels solid. I like that a lot. Each ring design is inspired by legendary gods and titans of Greek mythology. In addition to the rings and the chains, they've also developed cufflings for this collection. This ring is just awesome. It's made of tungsten. It's like thick. It's strong. You can get more information on each ring at the website. side itself. They came up with an alternative solution. You got this chain, really thick, wonderful chain actually. And if some people, when they're playing sports or they're playing or they're at the gym, it becomes a little awkward. So they came up with this idea to put it on a chain. So check this
Starting point is 00:02:18 out. Easy. Got yourself a necklace now. Put it up there. Done deal. I got my ring. I got it on a chain. And it really is. It's a really solid piece. So here's the beauty. You can get 25% off. You get a discount from me. But you got to put in K-8. channel and here is the link it is in the description first thing you're going to see is gentle bands click on that link you get 25% off i mean come on it's the olympics baby and this is the perfect time to do it it's a really smart idea and i love gentle bands they have just done amazing work this is my second ring with them and i'm sure it's not going to be my last so thanks to gentle bands check it out and let me know what you think all right everybody thanks to gentle bands thank you guys
Starting point is 00:02:59 for being here man this is not our monday episode it's a tuesday episode Tuesday live today, man. I think John Roker for moving his schedule around today to be part of this, especially that I'm going to give him some junk about trying to bet against me. This guy tries to call, text me and tell me that we try to make a domestic bet, 750, lunatic. But we have a lot to talk about Deadpool, Wolverine, just crushing the box office. And then as you saw on the actual video itself, the title itself,
Starting point is 00:03:31 we have the downy news, man. This is big news, really big news. And the question is, what does it mean? Is it desperate? Does it work? I've seen so many split reactions. It's crazy. So many split reactions.
Starting point is 00:03:47 I don't know what the hell I think, because I go back and forth. I go back and forth and think that it's desperate. I go back and forth and think that it could be fun. I don't know. I've got to see it, but it's going to be a conversation to be had. that's for damn sure there's other things happening in the world of movie news that we will
Starting point is 00:04:05 definitely get into and i think that those are the we'll go a little bit more into the comic con stuff about what happened we we john and i really haven't discussed it yet but we'll talk about some of the the thunderbolt stuff and the fantastic four news um and there's other things other news that came out outside of that stuff too kevin smith has a new movie coming out uh I guess there's a new TV news of Jurassic. There's stuff we can discuss. And then, of course, we'll take your, your news, your questions. We'll take your questions.
Starting point is 00:04:38 And we're going to do that. So let's get into it, man. It's myself, it's John Roka. It's the big thing. You ready? I am too. Here we go. What's up, John?
Starting point is 00:04:53 How's it going? Well, we'll get you. We want to hear you. How you doing? Good, good. Where my new Comic-Con shirt? Got this what-if shirt of comic show? Did you wind up going?
Starting point is 00:05:02 I did go Sunday night. Yeah. Well, I went Thursday for a little bit, and then I went Sunday for the day. Of course, you're like an old man like me. You want to go on a day where it's going to be the least crowded. Which wasn't a lie, because it was so crowded, dude. There was like multiple traffic jams. Sunday used to be the time where I could take my time, walk through the booths,
Starting point is 00:05:25 really walk with my hands in my pockets, not bump into anybody. Look at all the great artwork that's available, all the great figures and stuff. and also buy some comic books and graphic novels at 50% off t-shirts are reduced none of that was the case on sunday was stacked and people weren't lowering their prices and i stayed until like three three-thirty and then eventually i was like i'm going on i can't wait for them to drop it hasn't been it hasn't been less crowded on a sunday and god knows it made me last year because there was nothing going on um yeah but i mean it seemed like for the people that were there they had a good time Seen. Yeah. Yeah. Seemed like back to form for Comic-Con for sure.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Yeah. So I was, I wasn't missing it this year, to be honest. I was like, I did my, I did my thing where I was, I was, I was out to dinner with friends and I was doing stuff. And I was like, you know what? I'm going to come back and I'll check out the Marvel panel. And I came back and I saw that there were a few people kind of live streaming and I was paying attention there. I was like, and then I just turned my phone on. And I said, well, let me talk about the news that that went down and I did it that way. But then I was watching. You and I've been texting about you watching the Olympics at all? Yeah, yeah. I'm watching Olympics almost every day. I've got it on one of the screens over here that I have in the office, just on a constant loop. It really broke my heart, the one gymnast,
Starting point is 00:06:43 the male gymnast that fell off the high beam. Yeah, it broke my heart. And I was watching it with my little one because she loves gymnastics. It was the most adorable thing to a heartbreaking moment you ever going to get. Because that guy was just having a rough. So I turned to her and I said, he's having a rough day, honey. And she goes, I don't think he ate his breakfast
Starting point is 00:07:02 I was what she said I was like maybe not maybe not but we we kind of texted back and forth because I'm I have when it comes to there's certainly there was a big the big hoopla about the opening of the ceremony
Starting point is 00:07:18 and I felt like a dad I felt like a dad and I'll tell you we're back from because I'm not I see a lot of people who are just like oh yeah who cares be carefree about it and do this it's like there's one thing when it's like I had no problem of who there's a particular moment on on the opening where there's the these three people are in a legal library and then they run to like that apartment or something
Starting point is 00:07:42 and then they hint that they're going to have a menajia twa. Yeah. I don't care if it's two men and a woman. I don't care if it's two women and a man. I don't care. It's not I'm watching my six-year-old. Right. I don't want to have to say. She's excited. She's watching things happening. She's, she wants to see gymnastics and then she sees that like i turn into the the the the grumpy old man going what are we doing here like so and i don't think it's right to say to people oh it's because you hate this and you hate this no i just didn't want my six-year-old watching it's like and that to me was that particular moment i didn't think was appropriate there are other things i thought to say that the whole thing was terrible i think it was beautiful there's some beautiful
Starting point is 00:08:29 stuff going on and there in the artwork and the certain things they were doing. But I think that it's the same thing sometimes where you've got to, it's not unsimilar to what you're doing with like, you know, acolyte and stuff. It's like who are we directing it towards? Are we directing it towards one audience or everybody? Because this is an interesting point. Look, I understand your point of view as a father. I am not a father.
Starting point is 00:08:54 So I couldn't speak to that and how I might react to something like that. But this was a very clear French European approach to an opening ceremony. And I think, and don't get offended by this, but I think sometimes American sensibilities on what is appropriate, what's not appropriate, don't apply to the European point. Who is six year old? How we raise six year olds here is not the same as they raise them in France or Russia or Paris, or Spain or England or wherever. It's just different how you raise it.
Starting point is 00:09:28 No, that's not being said. Also, you've got to be clear because you know, you follow in the politics of France, what happened. There's a very strong right-wing side who were upset about it in France about this ceremony as well and some of the things that were there. I don't know you were talking about it. It's one thing. Well, the director and I watched the interview with the guy, the creative director, and he said it was just about showing you that France is open with everything. We accept everybody. We accept every point of view.
Starting point is 00:09:55 We accept how you live your life, how you want to express yourself. sexually. It's just there's a time and place. I applaud that. That was the time and that was the place. When I'm sitting here, my six-year-old, it's not. It is. There you go. That's the thing. You're seeing it from that
Starting point is 00:10:10 point of view, which again, I all have nothing but respect for that. Yeah. But for me, there was nothing wrong with that entire ceremony. I love it. Because you're watching it through different eyes. Yeah, through artistic point of view, like, wow, this is incredible. My wife looks at me, who's not the farthest thing from a concertive. And she looks over, she goes, she's like,
Starting point is 00:10:28 turn this turn this down like fast forward it don't don't let her see this and it's like okay but the core of what you're saying is you're you're offended by showing a threesome to a child yeah the man and a woman kissing you wouldn't have turned it what's the difference i don't necessarily know that's true it depends on the threesome when in fact that doesn't have to be a thing we judge and have an issue no no it depends on no if it was sexual at all between a man and a woman why am i showing a sexual scene. That's totally fair. That's totally. A peck on the lips, something like that between, I don't care,
Starting point is 00:11:02 a peck on the lips between a man and a man, a woman and a woman, I don't care. If it's something like a show of love, like, if it was, look, let's say it was two men, two women running and then celebrating as they did something through, go ahead. My daughter asked me a question and says, oh,
Starting point is 00:11:20 there's two men kissing. Yeah, that's because they're in love. And they just celebrated that they won this whole thing. But if a man and a woman are about to have sex in an apartment because they ran through a library, no, I don't think it's appropriate. I don't care if it's a freesome or not. Again, I didn't see it that way because I saw as these three people who were flirting and possibly falling in love and going and exploring it. And so to me, it's different. But again, not a dad.
Starting point is 00:11:45 So it's a different point of view. And I in no way I'm trying to denigrate what you felt about it or how you felt. Just that for me, I saw it because I see a lot of European stuff. And so to me, this made a lot of sense the way they were approaching it. And like you said, a majority of it was gorgeous. It was beautiful. It was just breathtaking. I wish I hadn't watched it with the Kelly Clarkson commentary.
Starting point is 00:12:06 She was driving me. Nuts. But I think they told her to do that, though. I think they told me. And so was Mike. What's his name? Tariko was describing what was happening. She was like a fan sitting on the couch next to you.
Starting point is 00:12:18 It was a little frustrating that he did, though, dude. And I like Mike Trico, but there was something that he did. They were in the middle of. this beautiful art piece and he's talking through it. It's like, be quiet. Stop talking. I agree. I think you know exactly what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Anyway. All right. So we're getting off our high horses there and we're going to like now we will jump into the core of this this whole thing. Can I say one thing? It was great to see Celine Dion back. Like fighting through her physical stuff and the disease that she is struggling with. If you guys haven't watched that documentary on Hulu,
Starting point is 00:12:52 highly, highly recommended. No matter what you feel. are about Celine's about a person struggling with a diagnosis out of the blue and it essentially affects what she has become famous for. And so to see her singing live, Gaga didn't sing live, nobody else sang live. Selene Dion sang live. And she got there at 3 a.m. to rehearse the song and fought against the musical director to make sure she could sing it live. And it was incredible. So I just wanted to give a shout out in the ceremony. I thought she was great. Gaga's stuff was fun. But Celine Dion singing live like that was incredible. Gaga just fit into that culture.
Starting point is 00:13:24 for sure. Yeah, well, 100%. All right, let's get to this, man. This is a, oh, no. What happened? Gosh, darn it. That my, uh, uh, the summaries, the virtual camera thing is not, it's not working the same way that it used to be. There's an update on, um, on OBS. So I'm trying to see, let's, let's see if I can, let's see.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Groomer, roca. Oh my God. You fucking children. I swear to God. Some of you guys, come on. Let's see. I'm trying to find the news. Maybe this will work. Let's say. Yeah, it works. Okay, that way.
Starting point is 00:14:03 But I have to mess around with it, unfortunately, because I don't think it jumps back and forth. It doesn't. All right. Anyway, all right, Robert Downey, Jr. Robert Downey, Jr. He returned. Now, I'm going to add into all this,
Starting point is 00:14:16 and we'll talk about all of it. We'll talk about the reveal. We'll talk about the Rousseau's. We'll talk about Marvel in general. But we're going to start with this. Marvel is, we know that Downey's back, but they spend in a lot of money to get him back. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:27 So here's the report. The reaction to Marvel Studios reveal of Robert Taney Jr. As Dr. Joom in the upcoming Avengers Doom's Day may have played like gangbusters in Hall H this weekend. But in the larger world, the response has been mixed. The reveal has provoked plenty of confusion as to how it will work. It has been indicated that this Dr.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Doom is not a stark variant. And an overall mixed reaction with some liking it and some calling it a move of desperation following Marvel's rough post endgame sleep. Now, a new report and variety has revealed that bringing back Downey Jr. and director's Joe and Anthony Rousseau into the MCU fold is going to cost Disney a fortune. Sources for the trade says that Marvel is spending 80 million on the Rousseau's alone to direct the next two Avengers film. In addition, Downey Jr. will receive significantly more to play Dr. Doom across the two films. Downey's deal also has multiple perks, including private jet travel, dedicated security and a trailer encampment. Downey remains the highest paid member of the MCU by far,
Starting point is 00:15:30 with sources saying his appearances across 10 Marvel films over the first three phases has seen him take him between 500 to 600 million from his MCU work to date. The Russo's deal doesn't include back-end compensation, but does have performance escalators when the film passes the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds. The brothers also will produce the two films via their AGBO banner something Marvel typically doesn't do. Sources also say that Downey agreed to return to the MCU only if the Rousseau's would direct, as they were the only ones he would work with. Shooting on the new Avengers kicks off in London in the second quarter of 2025.
Starting point is 00:16:08 The news comes as filmmakers Favreau's, John Favre's interview with Marvel's Kevin Fagy from a year ago has gone viral in the past day as it revealed that Downing was being eyed 20 years ago for the Dr. Doom role before he ended up getting the Iron Man role. So there is, I guess, a lot to talk about with this, John. And I think let's start with this because when we go with the news a little while ago where you and I were talking and you were, I'm convinced you had an inside tip about the Russo's coming back.
Starting point is 00:16:42 And Russo's come back. They do it. That to us, we talked about it looked like they were going to bring that up and they were going to announce that. And they should have. That was the smart move to do to bring them back. Downing started to get rumored. I think Jeff had it on his thing.
Starting point is 00:16:57 And there was other things that. Yeah, Jeff had it a couple of months ago. Yeah, kind of laid off on it. Yeah. And they had it. And so Downey coming back. And the idea, let's start with the idea of not playing a variant of Star is what they say.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Now, from what do you see from Deadpool and Wolverine, him playing a variant of like Dr. Doom of been the same way that, well, I don't want to spoil it. if people haven't seen a movie yet, but there's something that happens inside of Denpool and Wolverine that you can say, well, that's very similar to what that particular person did. And that is what Downey could do. It's like, yeah, this is what would have happened had he played Dr. Doom. This was in some world, in the Tim Story universe, there was a Downey version of Dr. Doom. And that's what they're playing. Now, I, when they announced it, when he come out,
Starting point is 00:17:47 you can tell what they said in that report man is spot on yeah in that room this is why this is why you can't judge because they probably thought oh this is going to go over great and say well wait until it hits the internet yeah yeah people who aren't there are going to go wait how the hell how does that work yeah where do you stand on all this by the way it's a really tough place to be in because i love robert downy junior like i love him as an actor and as a person and you know i i I remember when he was going through his substance abuse issues. I was such a fan of his. I read all the articles as he was going through all the tough, difficult journeys.
Starting point is 00:18:24 And I love underdogs. I love people who have to overcome things in life because you never know what life's going to throw you. You never know what you're going to have to deal with. And the fact that he came all the way back, you know, kiss kiss, bang, bang was a great like kind of beginning of the comeback. And then getting to this point with Iron Man and then seeing the explosion from there, Sherlock Holmes, what have you, and seeing the wonderful send-off they had for him,
Starting point is 00:18:43 I thought was great. And when they talked about the fact that they were going to bring back all the old Avengers for Secret Wars when that had been kind of rumored, I was kind of excited about that. Why not bring it back one more time? All as a team for like an extended
Starting point is 00:18:55 amount of time to get a little bit. This is completely different. And I, when you combine it with the Rousseau's, when you combine it with the line that's literally in Deadpool and Wolverine, the film that is out right now saying, you're kind of joining Marvel at a low point.
Starting point is 00:19:12 It's one of the lines in the movie. It's kind of, you can't help but escape that this feels like a desperate move. Now, will it be brilliant? Will the execution be great? That's all aside. You have to judge the move on its own. And the move on its own does wreak a little bit of desperation. Look, we got to repair things.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Let's bring him back. We're going to pay them essentially the GDP of a small country to come back. We're going to pay the Russo brothers $80 million based on what they did before, not what they currently did over the last five years based on what they did before. So Iger, you and I have talked about it. We're talking about studios driving the budgets down, not spending a lot of money. Well, here they go all in. And this could be, someone put out that this could be a billion dollar budget, not a billion dollar making movie, a billion dollar budget just to make these movies. And that is insane. So it's insane. It's insane. I mean, they're putting a lot of money into this. I don't, I think, and
Starting point is 00:20:12 will say where you pay everybody else christian i'm with you here where i don't know yet because i haven't seen the movie right right so it could wind up being like oh that was a really smart move exactly however however yeah with i i am all for the rousseau's coming back yeah a lot of money to pay them but i think it i think they are worth the investment to do i think you could have gotten somebody yeah as dr doom that would cost you a lot less Sure, the hype behind it, you get Downey back, but it's like, bring Downey back for a scene as a variant of Tony Stark and the Secret Wars thing. He shows up, and people would have forgave that a lot faster by having him come in and establishing him to the average audience that he's not Tony Stark anymore. And now he's a bad guy.
Starting point is 00:20:58 He's not a variant of Stark. It's confusing in what you do with Deadpool Wolverine also is they talk about how the multiverse stuff just hasn't worked yet. They really have to make this work. And I think I feel like they could have gone. I love that. I love it. I think they should have went with somebody else. I do.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Yeah. And the danger here too, Christian, is that like people have pointed out, oh, they did. They made the Wolverine variant work. They made the Loki variant work. Yes, because it was the same actor playing the same character in a different universe or alternate universe or whatever. But it's the same performance, you know?
Starting point is 00:21:34 And with Tony Stark here, well, sorry, with Victor von Doom here versus Tony Stark. Robert Donut Jr. has to create a completely different character. He can do it. He's that good. Yeah, of course. But the thing is, he's like, oh, what it's going to be like to face Tony Stark, you know, who's an evil person? It's like, well, yeah, he looks like Victor Vondou.
Starting point is 00:21:53 He looks like Tony Stark, but is he going to be Tony Stark? The second you see him start killing people, it's a whole other game. So to me, that's what I worry about is how they're going to make this work. And I know a lot of things. It reminds me a Hulk Hogan going to the NWO. Yeah, this is, you know, when I did my live reaction, which is up on my channel, I did it right at that evening. I said that this is like bringing back an old wrestler
Starting point is 00:22:13 to main event at WrestleMania to put over the young guys because the young guys aren't selling. And this is what this is. You don't bring Robert Downer Jr. Back if you have a successful universe and everybody's loving the new characters and the new actor.
Starting point is 00:22:25 You can have anybody play. Yeah. There's a particular, there's a particular person that they- Jericho right now or Brian Danielson putting people over. Anyway, there's somebody else that I would have rather seen play the role.
Starting point is 00:22:39 that I think that they could have got and I think they would have gotten maybe not as big of a reaction, but I think would have gotten a more positive reaction, I will say that. Because it's split. I think people are going to want to see them back.
Starting point is 00:22:51 And we all could say, look, they did it really, really well. It doesn't change the fact, though, is what you pointed out before. And what Disney needs to do and they're not doing right now is cut back on your budgets.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Now, I get it. It's the Avenger. You're going to spend some money on it to make billions of dollars. and they will, and people will want to see Downey back. But like you mentioned, how much are these movies going to cost to do? I mean, this is, and you said it again, this is the event. They've talked about how this, Secret Wars has everybody and their mother in this thing.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Yeah, Jeff said 67 characters. How are they going to do it? How are they going to spend? Like, that's, this is everybody. I mean, yeah, how are you going to pay everybody? And how are you going to pay everybody and make money is the question. You can pay everybody. And it's like, and make money, though, is the question.
Starting point is 00:23:42 You've put on a spectacular. There are so many people to pay at a spectacular. And that's a microcosm. But it's a great example. People never understood. I used to get, not, I shouldn't say stupid comments. Just comments people are not understanding going, well, they do all these live events. They're making money hand over a fist.
Starting point is 00:23:59 We were in the negative on almost every single live event because of everyone we had to pay. Even when we sold out, we were in a negative. because we had to pay everybody. We need to pay camera people to travel, the hotels, food, the people, the competitors, everybody. It's just,
Starting point is 00:24:15 that's a small, that's a small show. And then you got this guy flying around, private travel, he's got his own encampment. Like, that alone, that stuff. So it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:24:28 But doesn't that show you how over the barrel Marvel is, that they are, they were so desperate to bring back to Russo's and Downey Jr., that they are massively, overpaying for these guys to come back. Like massively overpaying.
Starting point is 00:24:42 You know, it's like bringing LeBron to the Cleveland Cavaliers and paying him $100 million for a year. It's so ridiculous how much they're paying these guys to come back. And they clearly had the leverage and marble over a barrel to do this. And remember, Disney just had massive layoffs over the last year of thousands of people losing their jobs, but they can
Starting point is 00:25:04 pay Robert Downey Jr. this much. Well, that's different. though too because that's money that's going into marvel that's particularly marbles making and it becomes their budget it's different how that works as opposed to one particular company one one sect of the disney brand that's not making money that has to pay their employees and can't you don't have the budget that's that's a different that's a different thing but if you're like if you're making the money and you want to spend your money on that i i just don't see the the you know the business plan of it that's why i say i understand the rousseau side of it the rousseau side of it makes sense to me if you're going to do down to spend this kind of money, I just feel, and people are like, well, he's going to be in the mask the whole time anyway. Then why are you spending that kind of money on him? If you can put anybody in the damn thing. That's a good point.
Starting point is 00:25:49 It's like, what are you doing? So it's like, yes, seeing him back is going to be fun. Sure. Watching to see what he's, because I was having a conversation with a patron the other day. And he was like, well, why would Downey want to come back? And I was like, besides the obvious reason of, you know, you dump a truck of money. and he's making $80 million. He just puts it in his bank account and he's never,
Starting point is 00:26:12 rich people always want more money, right? But that's the easy answer. The other side of it is, why did he leave? Why did he decide he didn't want to do it anymore, right? Because he didn't want to be pigeonholed as Tony Stark and he wanted to say, I'm still that guy. What did he do?
Starting point is 00:26:25 He won the Oscar. He won the Oscar. So now he's like, yeah, I won the Oscar. So I'll do another one of these. I'll do a few of these. His tune changed real fast after he won the Oscar. He's talking about on other shows. Oh, I'd love to go back to Marvel.
Starting point is 00:26:35 I'd love to do this. And say, of course you would. It's like because you don't have to give nothing to prove. Yeah. And so to him, if I'm if I'm down his advisor, yeah, absolutely you take that job. Oh, yeah. I take that job immediately. But if I'm, if I'm Marvel and Disney, I'm going, we don't need him for this one, guys.
Starting point is 00:26:52 We don't need him. Yeah. Whether you like it or not, you just don't need it. Yeah. Especially because like, look, how much of success has he found outside the Marvel universe, you know, like nobody's watching that to sympathize your show. and Sherlock Holmes is fine, but we haven't had a third one.
Starting point is 00:27:11 I mean, Numi Rapace was still a name that you lead films with when we had the last one. And so it's been years. And so it's like this idea that he's coming in in this situation and he's got some kind of leverage. Downey needed this just as much as they did
Starting point is 00:27:27 because, yes, he won the Oscar, but it was best supporting, not the lead. He wasn't Killian Murphy and Oppenheimer. So he got the Oscar. And he won it. Look, this is the deal. And you're right. Christian. He left the Marvel thing because he wanted to remind people that he's a damn good actor.
Starting point is 00:27:40 He got the Oppenheimer role, which was great. He knocked out of the part, got the Oscar. Now we can come back much more relaxed and be a part of, be a part of Marvel Universe and enjoy his time there. But the presentation to me was not Victor Von Doom. The presentation was Tony Stark. Yes. He went put the sunglasses on. We put the sunglasses on. I would rip the mask off and made himself the spectacle. And I get it. You have to be a showman. but I think there was a more evil way to show that he was going to be Victor von Doom than to have the Tony Starkish tendencies there. And the other side of it,
Starting point is 00:28:14 which is something that you should bring attention to, the other thing that we have to bring attention to is the fact that Jonathan Majors was supposed to be the villain of this. Yeah, yeah. Jonathan Magers was supposed to, Kang was supposed to be. So not only, it wasn't just the desperation of, oh, we want people to like the movies again. It's like, who's our villain? Who's our guy?
Starting point is 00:28:33 And how are we going to set this person? person up. How are we going to set up doom in that time period, right? How are we going to get an actor that's going to be able to do this? And then they're like, can we just put Downey in it? He was supposed to play Doom once before. What if we say he was a variant and that variant of it was actually Doom and we and he can play Doom? Yeah. You think he'll do it? Well, he said if the Rousseau's come back, he'll do it. All right. And then that's it that's because it's like you have to, they didn't know what to do. If Downey does not come back of the Jonathan Majors thing, doesn't happen. If he does, it's only for like the Avenger all showing up. Yeah, Stark.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Yeah, some reason all showing up together and some weird time jumper or whatever. But yes, 100% he would not have come back without the Johnton Major's thing. You know, and I saw some people being, you know, upset about that, that they removed, you know, instead of recasting Kang with another black, strong actor, they removed him and brought back in their white Jesus there in Robert Downer Jr. So I understand that sentiment. But I think it was business. It was business. They were like, we're flailing. The John's the major thing hit us in the face. We have to pivot.
Starting point is 00:29:39 And there's sometimes, if you think that's the right decision to make, you can't do it because someone's going to get mad and because you feel, oh, I need to do this because I want Twitter to like me. You have to do it because you think it's going to do your story right. Yeah, but they pivoted with the rock. They brought him back. The fan booed him. They said, all right, we'll turn this bitch heel.
Starting point is 00:29:56 No matter what they say in that documentary. Yeah, exactly. Okay. So we're going to talk more about like ComicCon and other things that happen. there and a few other things will get into the Deadpool and Wolverine stuff for sure. Starting point is 00:34:06 So it's YouTube.com slash John Roker says, come subscribe. We're so close to 35,000. Come subscribe. I put John's link in the description for everybody who has to check it out. The other thing I put in the description, I actually pinned it. I started a Clips Channel. And we put all the Robert Eiler clips on there. I'm going to clip out a bunch of the topics that we talk about here today also, and I put it on that channel. But if there's right now, there's about 600, 700, you guys watch. right now do me if you're i just need a hundred and thirty people to go over to that channel right now and subscribe to it's christian harlough clips i need to get the 500 we're trying to this one i completely
Starting point is 00:34:42 started from scratch and we're trying to try to monetize it john you can't monetize it until you have enough watch time you can't monetize it until you have enough subscribers so i just need if you can get anybody over there just to do it christian orloff clips subscriber over there that would help a lot um all right john so other stuff that happened you know inside of the the world of Comic-Con. You had, I don't know, what was the, the Thunderbolts was the other one that was the big, was also kind of big news, right? The Bulls, Fantastic Four and Captain America for, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Yeah, so Thunderbolts happened and there was the Harrison Ford of it all. There was, they had the whole cast, they had, it seemed like the stuff that they showed inside of that inside of that whole thing was darker it seemed like people seem like what was going on there but anything that stood out from the thunderbolt stuff or even Captain America or i guess fantastic four what stood out before john for you well the fantastic four stuff for sure that was incredible and i know the trailer leaked online so people did it yeah if people want to see it that way they can what trailer uh there was a fantastic four trailer that that debut.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Oh, not a, not a trailer, but like the little, but it was like a little, um, uh, 1970s like little things that, they didn't start shooting in the movie yet.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Fantastic Four? No, there was a bunch of stuff that they showed. Yeah. It was like, it was like they shot like behind the scenes, not behind the scenes, but like stuff like,
Starting point is 00:36:22 like 1960s like little pieces and stuff that they did. There were vignettes. You mean vignettes. It was a little vignette stuff, but it wasn't like an actual trailer. They didn't, they were shooting footage. Let's play the footage.
Starting point is 00:36:32 The footage they showed from the movie because it looked like from the movie because it was Pedro Pascal playing Reed Richards in front of a giant chalkboard talking about all these things. So that footage leaked. And I thought the energy and the vibe and the look of that was fantastic. Okay. They called it first steps,
Starting point is 00:36:49 which we'll see what that means. That means babies. Does that mean something else? First steps towards the mutant saga. I don't know. And then they had the ship come in at the end, which I saw. No one was talking about that really. the whole thing. But you know, they also said about Fantastic Four. It's not an origin story.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Right. Yeah. They're already together. Yeah. Matt Shackman is the man in charge of the upcoming third attempt at getting the Fantastic Four on the big screen. The new film first steps began production tomorrow in the UK with the cast, having shown up a Comic Con of San Diego this weekend to tub thump the film. What does that mean? Some test footage was shown offering a glimpse of the tone of the new film, which much of that footage seemingly showed the team ahead of their space mission that leads to get their powers. Don't expect that in the film, though, as Shankman tells EW that what you won't see here is an origin story as they want to avoid those. One of the things we decided early on was not to do an origin story. One of the ways we're
Starting point is 00:37:45 making in our own thing is we're not telling the story of them going up and being changed and starting our story. There's a lot of well-known narrative that leads into that moment, and then you're making up the new story starting basically at the end of the first act, and we thought, well, let's just start off a completely new foot, so we're beginning after that. So I think that's a good idea. I think that's what Spider-Man did after Spider-Man had 87 films. They did that with Tom Holland. They said, he's already Spider-Man.
Starting point is 00:38:08 I think it's a good way to do it. I think that the argument could be made that you're like, well, we haven't seen it happen in Marvel yet. How's Marvel Cinematic Universe? How are they going to do it? But I don't think you need it. I think it just takes too much time away from getting them into it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Yeah. Yeah. What else? Page? Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely. There's other, I mean, so the one thing I didn't mention that people are already doing is that people are throwing in their super chats and I have, I see all of it. Don't worry. The way that it works here is that if you put in your questions, we are going to go through all the topics. And then when we're done with the topics, we will get to everybody's question. Don't you worry. So that's how it's going to happen. But the thing that we got to talk about, John. Yeah. Got to discuss it, man. It's, it's Deadpool and Wolverine. The movie itself came out this weekend. Was that this weekend?
Starting point is 00:39:04 Yes, it was. And to say that it did well, it was an understanding. It made a ton of money, just an absolute ton of money. And the movie itself, it crossed over $200 million opening weekend. Like I thought it would, people were saying $170, 160. I said, no way, this thing's going over $200 and it did that and more. The final box office estimates are in. With Deadpool and Wolverine, it took in 210 million domestically, 233 overseas worldwide debut weekend of 441 million. To put in perspective of how crazy those
Starting point is 00:39:43 numbers are, the film's opening weekend handily took in more than twice the total theatrical gross of the marvels. It was easily the biggest opening ever for a film starring Ryan Reynolds or Hugh Jackman and the biggest for director Sean Levy. Here are the records that were broken. The biggest R-rated opening of all time, both worldwide and domestic. The biggest worldwide and international opening of the year. The biggest worldwide opening since Avatar the way of water. The biggest July opening weekend of all time domestically. The biggest opening weekend domestically of 2024. The biggest opening weekend domestically since Spider-Man, No Way Home. the sixth biggest opening weekend domestically of all time,
Starting point is 00:40:27 the fourth biggest superhero film opening weekend domestically of all time. It's also the 34th consecutive MCU release to debut at the number one at the domestic box office. It has pushed Marvel Studios past the 30 billion box office mark. It gives the MCU 11 of the top 20 opening domestic weekends of all time. Levy also wrote a tribute to Ryan Reynolds for all the hard work he put into it. I think that's the majority. of the stuff there. All right. So, John, you hear all that.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Yeah. What stands out? And how do you like your steak? Because I find medium. Well, medium. Well, I mean, like everything in life, don't catch your chickens. Just, yeah. Oh, stop it. It's a good opening weekend. But maybe everybody saw it who wanted to see it. And now it's going to be a precipitous drop off.
Starting point is 00:41:15 You don't really think that. It'll hit 700 million domestically. You don't think. Realistically, all jokes aside, this movie is cracking a billion. now, right? Bill, you mean worldwide. Is that what you mean? Is that what we always say? I thought we said domestic. Domestic. Yeah, billion dollars, domestic. But yeah, so the movie, I mean, the thing that stood out to me at all those records that they mentioned was, I think it was, where's the one that I said, oh, because all the, they're all very, yeah, they're right in our one is. The biggest July opening weekend of all time domestically stood out. For sure. The biggest world.
Starting point is 00:41:53 worldwide opening since Avatar. Yeah, the six biggest opening domestically of all time. I mean, this movie is a smash. It's an absolute smash. And I think that when it comes to, I mean, what else? What's coming out now? Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:09 That's a good question. Well, Alien Romulus is right around the corner. Borderlands, which I don't think is going to challenge at all is right around the corner. By the way, they're not screening that down here. So I'm not going to get a chance to see that until. They're not screening that and they're not screening the sham on. Oh, yeah, trap. They're not screening trap because apparently it's a massive twist.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Oh, is that what it is? Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a, I talked to a publicist friend of mine last night about it. So I was texting him about like, why don't I have a screening for this? Because I like to shake the tree every once in a while. He's like, dude, they're not showing it to anybody. And they showed it to the publicists, but just to get them to do promotion for it, but he said they're not showing it to anybody because there's a massive twist in the middle of it.
Starting point is 00:42:50 And they don't want people to. Yeah, I was bummed. I'm not going to check that one out. Yeah. Yeah, the borderlands. Yeah, Romulus is August 16th. I think that's, and the Crow ain't going to do shit against that. So, yeah, it's got pretty much a free ride until Beto Juice, I think, in September.
Starting point is 00:43:08 Right. Yeah. So it's going to make a lot of money. Yeah. It's going to make a lot of money. A billion, though. We'll see. I mean, Inside Out did it in three weeks and it had a smaller.
Starting point is 00:43:17 That's a kid's movie. This is a guy. This is a guy who. was trying to bang Wolverine through the whole movie. There's a lot of violence. It's a matter. It's a matter of drop-off. It's a matter of what the drop-off is week two. If week-two drop-off is like a huge, like 60-70 percent, then maybe not.
Starting point is 00:43:34 I don't see that happening. This is a rewatchable movie. If you take your seven-year-old to go see Deadpool Wolverine, you've got an issue with the Olympic ceremony, we need to have a conversation. I mean, I would know. It would not take my six-and-a-half-year-old to see that movie at all. But she wants it. She wanted to see. She wanted to see. She wanted to.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Yeah. If just came out. If came out. Oh, yeah. If it's on a Paramount Plus. I think to see it again. She love that and then she wants to watch Kung Fu Panda again.
Starting point is 00:44:01 So those. Oh, nice. That's what I take her to see. But the, but you know what I do want to do is what I realize, I saw these ads for it, is that there's like the 4XD thing that they have for Twisters. Do you see this? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:14 I still haven't seen Joyce in the city. In the city, they have this thing where the wind blows. spray water on you during the rain scene. Really? Yeah, it's like this crazy, crazy thing that people are loving. My brother keeps busting my chops to see it. And I might take my oldest to go. I'm not sure. But it's so funny.
Starting point is 00:44:33 My wife was texting me before because my oldest is taking swimming less. She wants to do, she can swim, but she wants to join, potentially join a swimming. Oh, nice. But she's never really done it before. So my wife's like, you got to be ready because, like, swimming's not. joke right it's like you and so she was texting me and she's like yeah she's definitely like this the swimming teacher that they have is like legit this guy's like and they's like teaching and the kids are like flying past her and she's like I don't know if I want to do it my wife goes get back in the pool
Starting point is 00:45:04 finish it up and if you don't if you feel like you're not you know if this is over your head and it's like but it's this romanticized idea what is and then the coach said no she's just she's she's she She can perform at this level. She just needs to come back. And then my wife was like, yeah, no, she had fun. She stuck it out and she's going to do it. That's life, man. That's life. That's what she got to do.
Starting point is 00:45:26 You're not going to be the best at everything right off the bat. No. But, you know, when you're a kid, you have an idea that you're going to be in the Olympics or like, oh, I'm going to be on a swim team. I can do what they do? Everybody can do that. Can you? And maybe you can, but you got to put work into it.
Starting point is 00:45:40 Yeah. So anyway, Deadpool and Wolverine, putting in the work. making a lot of money as you said it's got no it's got no competition right yeah it's got nothing so what did you liked it right yeah i've seen it twice did you like it i did like it i thought it was i mean i i'm not singing the same song as some of the other people that it's like the best movie in the world i i think it's got a lot of fun moments i sing it has some great moments i think it used i can't i won't even call them cameos i'll call them roles i think yeah yeah yeah really great i think there's some moments that just stood out i thought there's some
Starting point is 00:46:16 stuff in it that was unnecessary. I thought that sometimes they went for the joke over the actual story. And sometimes that worked and sometimes it didn't. I didn't watch Succession. So I don't have the same love for that one actor. Matthew McFadden. I thought Matthew McFadden's jokes landed like a wet mom. His jokes were not landing.
Starting point is 00:46:38 Fair point. But then there's other things that did work very well. The chemistry between Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds is just was off the charge. charts. There were some reveals that they had in the trail. We can talk about that because it's, well, you know what? People who didn't see it. There's a reveal that happens in one of the last trailers. Yeah. Yeah. It was unnecessary. Yeah. Unnecessary. And then Kevin Feing is like, well, that particular person wanted to come to the premiere. I don't care. Why don't I get spoiled for that? It's like that person wanted to go to the premiere, then have him go to the premiere and just say you
Starting point is 00:47:08 weren't, you're not in the movie or don't do interviews. Well, she could come for the premiere to the premiere to support Hugh Jackman, who she was in a film. with already she right yeah exactly but like when that i was like that that was the worst excuse i've ever heard ever well she wanted to go to the premiere what does that why do i get my experience ruined for that i think they were scared and i think because of how people have responded to their previous marble movies and they're like let's put her in the final trailer because then people were already testing to make tons of money yeah i don't know it just feels that way because they've done these weird things marble with revealing certain things in their final trailers you're like why would you do this i didn't
Starting point is 00:47:46 understand it. Yeah. I didn't understand it. And in the fact, the box office, though, they made a lot of money. And so yeah, I know. I thought it was a good film too. It certainly holds up and it's fun, but the story issues are there if people want to poke, really pull it apart. And you're right. There are some moments, especially that the final big, big battle scene. Yeah. Just like, why do it? Why is it? It was just to say, like, look how fun this is. Yeah. It didn't have anything to do with the story. Yeah. And that's where, listen, I know people are going to get mad at me when I say this, but so be it. But I'm, but I, but I'm, but I, I think there is a little bit with Ryan's ego. And I think there is something there. I mean, sure. You're throwing in your entire family in the movie. It's just like, uh,
Starting point is 00:48:25 okay. So I think he's can, but you know what that is for though, too, though, is because he is also mentioned. I think that that also has to do with the, with the fact that he,
Starting point is 00:48:35 he wanted his family close to him. Because, yeah, fine, you don't have to put him in the movie. I agree, but I'd probably like, hey,
Starting point is 00:48:42 you know, it would be a little more fun if you guys were in it too. Yeah. Yeah, but either way, look, if your ego's making the studio billions of dollars, you get to do these things. You get to do these. Yeah, you're right. So it's like, hey, you wanted to put his, what? How much did it make?
Starting point is 00:48:58 Yeah, I haven't put his grandmother in it next time. Who cares? You know what I mean? So as long as the audience, I mean, the audience for the most part, the Rotten Tomatoes audience, I think loves it. And I gave it a pretty high review. I thought it was a high score. I thought it was, it was a fun movie. Do I think it is the best quality?
Starting point is 00:49:15 HBO movie, Marvel movie to come out. I think Guardians 3 was as far as movie goes. The best MCU movie since Endgame, maybe. Maybe, maybe, maybe no way home, but I still think no way home. I love you. MCU is continuing on what because of like, well, Guardians is MCU. Not really. It's Guardians 3.
Starting point is 00:49:41 It doesn't have anything to do with the continuation of the new phases. Good point. Yeah, it was the goodbye, basically. It was, it was, it was the end of the Guardians trilogy. Right. Right, right, right. I love it. It's a rocket movie, but it's a brilliant movie, but it's not, it's not an MCU movie.
Starting point is 00:49:55 So, really, is it the best movie? People, I kept seeing people say that. It's the best MCU, no, it's not the best MCU, Guardians 3. Guardians 3 was not, was not an MCU continuation story. It's not. It's a guardian three movie. And it's a really, and it's a really good movie. It's probably my favorite out of the ones that have come out recently.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Yeah. But this is probably the best, I would say since No Way Home. Yeah, I would do that. Yeah. What do we do, Christian? I'm out of my own on the limb. Maybe you're here on the limb with me. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Let's see what we go. What do we do about these critics? These self-important critics who tweet about this film and say, it's a corporate crash cash grab trying to lowest common denominator satisfy fame. You want me to call Bibiani? Is that what you're saying? Did he say that? I didn't see Bibbs. No, I have Whitney Sybil come back in me, which I love Whitney.
Starting point is 00:50:47 I enjoy both him and Bibbs and their poise. But like I thought, and they're never on the, they're never on opposite sides. Yeah, kind of right about that critically. But Snyder and I went at it last week as well because he didn't like it at all. But this corporate like take that, who do you think you are? And especially some of these critics who are in their 20s like, you haven't nowhere seen enough movies to say nonsense like this. It just frustrates the F out of me when I see these self-important critics say crap like this because it's just to get attention.
Starting point is 00:51:18 It's just to get headlines. It isn't legit. I mean, because there's no corporation that's like, yes, please make fun of us in sexual and other ways for two hours. And then we'll be okay with it. It's nonsense. Yes, there's some fan service for sure. But it's organic in the movie. It makes sense in the movie.
Starting point is 00:51:37 It's not, you know. And then these people with, oh, they killed the Fox universe. Oh, like, come on. that I thought they played they did they did the most honor to it that I've seen it yeah it's like yeah I usually I'll be honest dude I shut all that stuff out like I you're I took my yeah I said I my I just scroll past stuff I don't even read it um but when I I took my friend who I and I mentioned this ready to the audience that he I think the last movie Marvel movie he saw maybe even been Captain Marvel he didn't see Infinity War he didn't see I don't even think he saw Infinity War
Starting point is 00:52:07 no maybe he saw Infinity War and then he's like Captain Marvel that's it that was it was the last thing he saw. Yeah, and it's a thing Marvel and then Avengers. So Captain Marvel was the last thing he saw. Um, and he's seen that both Deadpool one and Deadpool two, but I took him to it and he loved it. He loved it. He loved it. I mean, some of the jokes went over his head, but he didn't even know what over his head. Right. Something, but he thought he was, he thought it was great. He had a really fun time going
Starting point is 00:52:29 to see, like to watch it in an IMAX. So it, and it clearly that is who they were aiming at. Yeah. And they hit it. And they hit it. So anyway, all right. Well, you guys, put your comments in there. Let me know all of these things that we're talking about here. Your thoughts on the movie, the, and Deadpool Wolverine, the idea of how much it made. What kind, what else, what side dishes should I get with my steak when I go with John? All that stuff. Put that in there. And before we move on to your questions, we're going to get that. I want to tell you about, I've told you before about
Starting point is 00:53:05 criminal body wash and I talked about it at length, Rocket Money. Here's both. Body Wash and Rocket money. Here you go. I got to tell you about Cremont. That's right, man. So I think you guys also have, last week when I was telling you guys about them, I got so many people, I can't even tell you how many people I said, yeah, I use Cremont. I use it. So,
Starting point is 00:53:25 so many times I've been using Cremont. Before you even, I even told me about it, Harloff, I knew it. Because for me, after working in the studio all day, I want to go home and I smell like an alley cat. I want to go home and take a shower and relax. So I love going out in the weekends, but, you know,
Starting point is 00:53:41 Sometimes my friends, they want to visit some really nice places. I mean, I want to, I want to smell nice. My wife and I would go out. I'm like, you don't want to go like a mountain lion who's been sleeping garbage. She wants to go. Someone's smelling nice. That's where Cremot comes in. So you want to elevate and you want to enhance your hygiene routine with Cremont body wash.
Starting point is 00:54:03 It combines a rich, lathering, and hydrating formula with meticulously balanced, multi-layered fragrances for a superior shower experience. So I used it, even we were working into the studio here really late. And so I was like, okay, I used it. I felt great right away. So Cremel works with master perfumers to make sure that every body wash scent is blended and refined. And their hard work definitely shows. Every wash that I've tried, it smells like, it's like really high-end cologne.
Starting point is 00:54:34 So I really dig it. I like the new bourbon vanilla men's body wash, which I've been using. It's really good. Yeah, it's really, really good. So, you know, it gets me clean and it relaxes me after a long day. So check it out. All right. So there you got Cremot.
Starting point is 00:54:50 And I know you use Cremont, John, but the other thing, have you, you've been paying attention? You've been using Rocket Money. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, Rocket Money to me, well, what happens, you and I, I know this happens to you where you'll see one of those apps and you're looking through and you're like, oh, yeah, I'll use that. It's free. It's a free app.
Starting point is 00:55:07 And then it's like $30 every month. and you forget that you have and you look at this charge. And like, why don't I have this charge on my card? It's like, oh, because I never canceled it. Rocket money, it basically lets you know it's a finance app. It says, okay, look, this is what you have. Cancel this. We'll cancel it for you.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Just put it in there and it'll tell you, it tells you what's going, how much money you spent over the last month. It tells you what bills you got coming up. It's got all this. I love rocket money. I use it religiously. And it saves people so much money monthly. You think it saves you just, oh, a couple bucks here and there.
Starting point is 00:55:38 The amount of money that this app has saved me. I mean, I think I've been doing it since I started this channel. I've been using Rocket Money. And it's very easy. You want to sign up today and stop paying for unwanted descriptions. You go to RocketMoney.com slash thing. Rocketmoney.com slash thing. It is the best thing that I've, since doing this podcast, one of the things that I found,
Starting point is 00:55:59 people are like, what did you find? I said, I found my voice and I found Rocket Money. Those are the two things. So go and checking out. Okay. So let's get to some of these questions. We got a bunch of good ones here, John. And as I mentioned time and time again,
Starting point is 00:56:16 we will go through these questions. You guys throw them in there, and we will go ahead and answer said questions. And then while we do that, I'm also going to check and see if I can try and so hard to get that channel to 500 subs. So I got to get that channel to 500 subs. It's the Christian Harleff Clips channel.
Starting point is 00:56:35 I'm going to check right now, John. What do you think we're at currently is what I'm going to guess? You just started it? I started. Well, it was currently when I, when I did my push to, Peeeps, in the beginning of the show, was at $3.40 or something. Right. So I asked people to do it because I needed to get to $500,
Starting point is 00:56:53 and I want to see if people actually help me. What do you think it's at right now? 725. Oh, my God. That's being nice. It's at 401. It's at 401, which is nice. If 100 of you, 100 of you go on to the Christian Harleaf Clips channel,
Starting point is 00:57:07 I'm going to put the link. in the description right now. Here it comes. And stop that. And boom. Subscribe to that channel. You do that for me. And I'm going to start putting a lot more clips and all that.
Starting point is 00:57:21 So thank you very little. Okay. Let's now get to these questions. Okay. So there were some really good ones that we got. And I saw Tim Sims coming in hot today, but he's not the first one. First one is Undead Sick, 83. My theory,
Starting point is 00:57:38 sound backwards on my glasses. The theory is that Doom is a Tony variant who won and survived the war against Thanos, but both Pepper Potts and his daughter, Morgan, never returned from the snap, which drives him insane by grief and rage. Well, they said that that's not going to be the case. He said he's not a variant and he's not
Starting point is 00:57:54 Tony. He's Victor von Doom. So I don't know if that's going to hold up. Right. And it doesn't mean like he's going to be Victor Von Doom, the main Victor von Doom, and Earth's 1616. Like, it seems to me that he's going to be the Doom from the Fantastic 4 universe, somehow they're going to cross over, and then the actual Doom who will take over and be the main Doom will probably kill off Robert Down at Jr.'s Dr. Doom and take over.
Starting point is 00:58:21 So there is still a possibility that there will be someone else playing Dr. Doom going into the mutant saga after Avengers's Secret Wars. Yeah. Next one, Gabe Campbell. I don't know how anyone can not like this idea. Just from a storytelling perspective, it can be incredibly heartbreaking for the audience in Spider-Man, possibly. I mean, I'd go back to the Hulk Hogan NWO thing. Yeah. I mean, it certainly could be, but the question is, are they even going to play
Starting point is 00:58:47 that he looks like Tony Stark? Or they even going to, are they going to? I would assume that they're going to. Yeah. But we don't know, right? Yeah, exactly. And I mean, it does open the door. Like with Hogan, like, Hogan was able to reference his previous character. It's not like Victor von Dumbke, go like, well, when I was Tony Stark, you guys didn't respect me. You let me die, you know, there's a Deadpool is there. Deadpool could do it. Yeah, I suppose Deadpool could do it.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Yeah, but yeah, I think that'll that'll be a few seconds in the movie, but you got to adjust. And if they make it a big deal that they're costly seeing Tony Stark, I think that's going to be weird. The pepper pot stuff, that could be interesting. I think the way you could turn him evil, too, is that he uses, once he realizes
Starting point is 00:59:27 that people are a little more sympathetic to him because he looks like Tony Stark, then he can use that for evil reasons as Don't do. I don't know. It sounds messy a lot, isn't it? It sounds messy. Evil John Madden. John, in Fantastic Four, Pedro Pascall is talking with a 60s white accent.
Starting point is 00:59:47 That must trap your ass to hire a Latino to play a white guy and aren't letting him put that Latino spin on it. What does that mean talk like a white guy? I mean, that's racist within itself. How does, I've seen, have you seen Eminem talk? He don't talk like Christian talks or Christian doesn't talk like, I don't know, like Viviani talks. White guys talk all different types of ways.
Starting point is 01:00:07 How was he talking like a white guy? I'd love to know that evil John Madden. You tried. You tried. Thanks for spending $10. You tried. He's evil John Madden. Hank Pimp,
Starting point is 01:00:19 I'm headed to December Slam this weekend. I hope to see L.A. night win his first title and get some Mamie sweat. Yeah. Look, boys. Any predictions? This is going to be an unpopular opinion. I hope that Logan beats him.
Starting point is 01:00:34 Wow. I want to see Logan hold onto that title. I keep giving that U.S. title some more. L.A. night, A, doesn't need it. B, I'm not a big L.A. 9 guy. I think it's like, L.A. 9 to me is, is, what did Stone Cold do great? What did the rock do great?
Starting point is 01:00:50 I'm going to combine that together. He's a great performer. He's a great performer. And he's really, really good to get the energy hopped up. But he's, he doesn't stand out to me. You can get the crowd over. He can get him worked up. But like, I'd rather see, like, I'd rather see Logan hold on to it.
Starting point is 01:01:05 I think we've seen the peak of L. Yeah, I too, too. And I think slowly but surely they're going to start shoving him back down to the mid-card level type things. And yeah, and they love Logan. Look, Logan's company is the logo on all their rings, for God's sake. So they're going to let him keep having the title. And Logan's young enough and he's got enough of an audience that he could be in main event stuff. And he can wrestle.
Starting point is 01:01:29 He can wrestle. He's good. He's really good. And I think Gunther wins the title easy, right? And he should. He should hold it. That's the heavyweight. You think Gumpler's going to win the town at Somerslam?
Starting point is 01:01:40 Yeah. No. You don't think so? I don't think he wins until WrestleMania. It's too far off. You got to get the belt already. Cody's keeping that belt to WrestleMania. I'm just looking at right now.
Starting point is 01:01:52 Give it to him because then, because you're going to probably have, you're probably going to have what, Cody in the Rock? I hope not. Oh, God. I hope not. But I'd rather see, they're going to do, have rains. And Raines is going to come back at some point, right? Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Oh, you're going to come back in Somers. I think he's coming back in SummerSlam, yeah. So he comes back and you give him the baby face thing. And then when the rock comes back as a heel again, let him fight Roman Reigns like the Hulk fought Rock back in the day. Let them have a fight like baby face versus heel in a specially match, not for a title off to the side. And then let, let Cody fight Gunther, title for title. Heavyweight championship versus. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:02:29 I can see that. Especially after Damien's mistake in the last pay-per-view, they might like take the title off. I mean. He's not. I can see your point. I like Damien. He's the one guy. He's got the New York accent.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Reminds me a home when he's out there and he's doing his thing. But like, he's good. He's not great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Darth Archie. Robert Daniel Jr. Wait, can I say something real quick? Sorry.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Yeah, yeah. We announced it on Friday this past week. The Strong Style Show is no more, but we have rebranded it as the Ring Generals. Me, Aaron Turner, Chris Burns, coming back. it will be initially on my channel and then we're going to put it on the wrestling channel and go forward with that, which we'll rebrand down the road. But that's what it's
Starting point is 01:03:12 going to be. We're going to debut sometime this week with our SummerSlam preview. So thanks for letting me say that. Yeah, of course. Darth Archie, Robert A, Robert A Enjure and the Rousseau's, have earned my trust, so I don't get the negativity at this point. Also, love your get the shit switch to the show's giving you crap. I like to give the shits in here.
Starting point is 01:03:28 There was people I was using my phone. I mean, you know, someone's like, stop shaking. I was like, shut up. At the end of it, I basically just said, like, if anybody's, everyone who's being nice, thank you. And I don't want anything bad at him. I just want you to get the shits. I want you to be sleeping in the middle of the night.
Starting point is 01:03:46 I just want you to get the shits. But as far as the negativity, I think that it's, I mean, there's negativity, which is you can't, you can't deny it. But then there's also, like, hesitancy, which I think I have a bit of. And I don't disagree, though. I think that both Downey and Rousseau have earned the trust of the audience. sure but it's also like when john was just talking about that stuff about everything that he could do because he looks like stark it's like it's very messy it's very messy so i think
Starting point is 01:04:16 that's why people are like wait how's that going to work yeah yeah people are legitimately concerned and you know i see people throwing out narratives that are completely uh false you're like oh you wanted something new and then you rejected the eternals now you get what you wanted and now you're upset about it's not the fucking truth. Everything is about how you presented, when you presented, execution, and what the overall intention is. And so you have to look at everything separately and every case separately and how you judge it. To be in this situation, I don't think it's negativity. People just have trepidation and they wonder if it's going to work. And that's good to have a healthy sense of skepticism about the situation because it's not like Marvel is on a high and they're
Starting point is 01:04:56 coming off five awesome great movies. And they're like, you know what we're going to do now? We're going to bring back Robert Down Jr. and the Rousseau's, then the roof would have flown off the convention center. But now it's a little more like they, it's a little bit of a desperate move. So, yeah. Johnny Venerable, between Dune and Avengers, Star Wars is toast. Odds at Lucasville moves the Ray movie off December, 26 and kicks the Mando movie from May to December. Possible. It depends on how, what's happening with it in general. The only reason, because I thought that initially too, Johnny, the only reason that I think it might be tough,
Starting point is 01:05:30 is depending on when Osoka lands. It also depends on how skeleton crew lands with fans. Because skeleton crew is supposed to tie in to that whole Mandoverse. Accline isn't. Obi-Wan doesn't. But that does. That skeleton crew does tie in.
Starting point is 01:05:49 So the question is, can it all tie in and can Faloni handle both Asoka and this, Soca Season 2, end this movie and get it out there in time? I don't think so. So I think that the Ray movie stays where it is. They're also paying her an incredible amount of money, like $12 million or something to do this. So, yeah, I think that movie stays.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Do you think it stays or do you think it moves? I think it all depends on how the production goes, right? Like, we don't know if the production is going to get it. They're going to do what they need to do to get it in preparation. And we don't know if the story is ready. There's a lot of questions around it. So I think she might be director might. If someone, I think director might.
Starting point is 01:06:30 I leave. Yeah, there's a lot. That's starting to become a louder. Yeah. Uh, thing in the sources or people that I know who have connections there. And so that is a very distinct possibility. Uh, and it may not to be because the fans, the actually, I don't think she did herself any favors by how she was, I think that they're trying to do a PR push in general, how they want to do this. And I don't think she did herself any favors. So I think that that probably is part of it. Plus, maybe she's just not having a good time. I don't know. I just wonder if maybe, you know, doing a full theatrical feature, it's a whole different ballgame when you're switching to knock some like that.
Starting point is 01:07:06 And it'd be just, especially for a big franchise. Do you know what I'm saying? All right. So here's our buddy, the great Tim Sim who's, hey, coming in hot today. So quote, Griffin Shiller, I like Griffin, a film speak. Holy hell, this reeks of desperation. Why would you completely blow your legacy currency on this? And as your first, Dr. Doom in the MCU, I understand the sentiment.
Starting point is 01:07:26 I do get it. I do understand what people would be like with these thoughts. And the only thing I say to people is be open-minded, but you can still say, if you're open-minded, that didn't work. If you watch it and you go, okay, I'm went into this going, all right, my, I'm hesitant about it. If I'm Tim Sim, I go, why did you blow this? And then I walk out and it's not good.
Starting point is 01:07:43 I go, it's not good. But if it is good and they use it, I feel like Tim's a type of guy. I go, great, I was wrong. It was worked. But I understand that, how that, how you could do, how you could feel that way. Yeah. And Tim says, I just disappointed that the Kang storyline is being written out instead of being recast. I wanted Kang Dynasty
Starting point is 01:08:00 did he happen, but okay, with needing the path to be creatively tightened and add more meaning. I happen to agree with him. Yeah? I was yeah, I think that they should, I think that because they were worried that if they recast with somebody, then a person's going to have too much slack because of the John has the major side of it, but Homer Domingo,
Starting point is 01:08:20 does I always get it wrong? Is it the other says Domingo? Yeah, Coleman Domingo. Yeah, Roman Domingo. He, I think that he would have been great. Yes, I agree. I think I think he still will show up maybe as him, but he's not as the lead. But I agree with Tim on that one. I think they should have just went with that. Yeah. Well, they're basically just going to make the council of Kang's probably a council of dooms.
Starting point is 01:08:42 And you'll have multiple dooms and all of that. So that's the thing. And by the way, Coleman de Mingo has a new film coming out, Sing Sing. If you guys want to watch some fantastic acting work in a really great film, I highly recommend Sing Sing. Keep the questions coming in, guys. and I keep seeing them coming in here. Here it is.
Starting point is 01:08:59 Carlton Rutter. What up, man? Hey, Colin. Deadpole Wolverine, 444 million as of today. Who will you be paying for the steak dinner? Will it crack the $1 billion? Well, remember, all it's got to make for me is seven, either, I'll give you $7.50 at this point. I think it was seven, but I'll say $7.50.
Starting point is 01:09:14 That's probably a billion. Sure. Will it crack the billion. As for Robert Teng Jr. As Dr. Jim, I'm on the fence. And I think there's a lot of on the fences. Yeah. I think I'm on the fence.
Starting point is 01:09:25 Yeah. You should be on the fence. Yeah. It's good. healthy skepticism, especially because Marvel hasn't exactly knocked it over the fence right. The last few, a couple of years. So yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:34 Yeah. Okay, Tim, coming back in. As someone who enjoyed every post, first of all, Tim, thank you for the generous. Yeah. Multiple donations. As someone who enjoyed every post endgame content minus secret invasion for terrible pacing, this is the first time when I don't like what's being done to the MCU post end game. That's rise of Skywalker's level of desperation.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Wow. He turned really not happy about this one. And, yeah, I understand. I understand the hesitancy. I do get it, Tim. But I want to see how they actually, how they're going to play this out. I want to see how they're going to play it up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:07 All right, John, we stand at 435 subscribers on the new Clips channel now. Yay. Hoping to get to five by the end of the show. Good job. Mad Sinister McHell. I made a variant for Jeff called Beth Snyder from the Dollywood Reporter. Her Beth Snyder, Harold, and Purple Crayon will have a Wesley Snipes cameo. It always hits like one banger.
Starting point is 01:10:27 Every episode of that Sinister McCall. Look best. I'm just green. Do you think the MCU does a full soft reboot after Secret Wars allows them to keep, to end the multiverse, keep who they want and recast bring back characters? I think they're just going to have, they're going to focus heavy on the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. Yeah. And you can run the MCU based off the X-Men for the next 10 years if you wanted to and just stay away.
Starting point is 01:10:55 I think you stay away from other side characters. you stay away from all that stuff, make it simple. Yeah. Yeah, I think that's the thing at the end of the day is that I think Fige just wants to power through the end of this multiverse stuff and get the mutant saga up and running in the next phase. That's, I think it's absolutely what they're going to do here. Because look, there's only what, three movies left?
Starting point is 01:11:14 Because I don't think that Blade movies happening. And then, boom, they're going to jump into Avengers, Doomsday and then Secret War. So I think that's the path they're walking. Did you see that, did they screen Transformers want it at, or they just showed in a new trailer? Just the trailer, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I looked, I told you that movie, I realized that that movie's not for me.
Starting point is 01:11:35 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But what I did realize, though, it is, as I was watching it with my kids, trailer itself, like, they looked up and they were like, I want to see that. And I was like, okay, I get, I get who they're going after here. They're definitely going for the kids and the young adults. They're going after the, so I was like, I get it. But I still, it's like, I still am waiting for the perfect Transformers movie that I think i'm ever going to get yeah um call me java what's your favorite single line from
Starting point is 01:12:02 deadpool wolverine well i think that the ones that i have are spoilers so i don't want to give but there's some there's some really good ones there's some really uh i'm gonna say you never did i just believe it at that there was i think that when a certain character shrugs and goes that's fine it was great it was great um joey pedrus the tats 4 has had a rough time in the film and comics over the last 20 years you think that the fantastic war is the draw to push the MCU into the next phase i do i mean i just said as much um it really does it i mean it seems like they're going all in on the fantastic four with even bringing in dr dune you know i think that they're hoping that because faggy loves fantastic
Starting point is 01:12:47 loves the ex was both so i think that that's where they're going to run it on both of those for sure yeah yeah yeah um mad sinister macaul come in and again basically The shit rat is now confirmed for Saul 11 per Beth Snyder. Basil. It's one of the worst characters. I love the person had confidence to throw it in first and then keep responding as Beth Snyder. I love that.
Starting point is 01:13:10 This is going to work. I know it is. I think it is too. Basil. What was a stupid character that was. Okay. Rodney P. Yes, the Robert Denny Jr. casting is desperate.
Starting point is 01:13:20 Any of the Scars Guard brothers are right there to play Doom. I mean, they had so many actors that could have played Doom. So many that could have played Doom. Yeah, I hope there's not a love triangle here either, because that was the rumor they were going to explore the love triangle that in the Congress was soon. Right. Vanessa Kirby with a much older Pedro and he needed an older RDJ. That's nonsense. So I hope it doesn't go that route for sure. It's going to be so hard to get people to not think of him as Tony Stark. I know. It is. And people, I saw people getting upset and ridiculing people. who were like saying that
Starting point is 01:13:59 not everyone's going to be on board with this from like, you know, Middle America, the casual MCU fans, the casual Marvel fans. And they're way more casual Marvel fans than there are people in this crazy bubble of ours. And so, you know, people are like, oh, they're too stupid to figure out. That's not it.
Starting point is 01:14:14 It's that people aren't paying attention to every... Right. Every thing is going to be going on. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So like you're going to mess with their heads and they might not go along with you.
Starting point is 01:14:22 Yeah. Interesting. Hey, our buddy screwface, John. Hey. Put a tweet up asking what people thought about Robert Danny Jr. playing Duma, an overwhelming negative reaction. It was like a lot of people hate it. Yeah, I mean, I think that John, that's why we, when we, and Roak and I were talking about earlier is that in that room, they probably got off stage going, oh yeah, went over really, really
Starting point is 01:14:43 well. Because it's almost like, you know, when you're in a live event or you're something and you feel, wow, that went over. I mean, even I've seen stand-up comedy clips of people in the room just roaring, but then it goes online and people are fendent. it out of their mind, right? Because it just, they weren't in the room to feel the energy of what it was. So I think it went over. It's what I think it's just, it's just like there's the opportunity to get other people. You know what it is? It's that they didn't need it. And they feel like they did. They didn't need it. So I don't know. Yeah, I wonder how much of this is actually Figey's decision now much of this. Oh, Iiger, maybe. Maybe. I'm coming and going, listen, we need to do something big here.
Starting point is 01:15:26 I need something big. He said, I'm going to turn this thing around. I'm going to get us back to the world. What does he care about the multiverse and how it works? Yeah. Al Rensha, I am worried about they are going to establish doom as a threat. He needs to have a Thanos Hulk fight. You think more projects that you get to me announced.
Starting point is 01:15:41 I know he needs to be really devastating too and how he fights and everything too, right? Yeah, agreed. And that's one of the negative things also, the second part of that comment. They didn't announce anything for the future. Like, this is the first Marvel panel. I liked that. They didn't announce anything for me. Yeah, I liked that.
Starting point is 01:15:56 Okay. I like that because like we're we're not in it because it goes back to what you said earlier. We're not in the honeymoon phase. Oh yeah, right. Good point. When they're when they're in that phase of when everything's hitting and every movie they're putting out. Yeah, tell me everything you got right now. Just focus on what you shot and tell me about the two Avengers movies and that's it. Don't tell me about anything else because, A, I don't even know what's going to happen. Right. I don't even think they know what's going. So I don't need that. And that's and I saw people going, oh, I hope they're going to do dare double news. Why? Let them do all the. TV news at D23. That's what they're going to do. All the TV news comes out for Disney Plus. It makes a ton of sense.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Ronan Unchained. Good morning for us. The Fantastic Four segment of the Marvel panel was glorious. It felt like the Incredibles and honors Jack Kirby, best part of Hall H. Yeah, people were loving that fantastic, important thing with that car and everything too. People were loving that.
Starting point is 01:16:46 I think that I saw, they could have ended, they could have ended it with maybe bringing out the Rousseau's, and it was still in over big. but now that's the other thing is that everybody's just talking about the downy thing and not talking about this other stuff yeah no one's talking about thunderbolts no not even more our captain america got buried yeah yeah and and from what people were saying that i mean you got you got you got freaking harrison fort in that movie he actually came out it and hulked up stage yeah yeah mike joyce
Starting point is 01:17:14 which your most anticipated movie of august um i think alien mommulus yeah probably alien mom yeah for sure um okay let's see next we got some more more. Thank you, everybody who's putting in those super chats. Like I said, John and I would be here until the very last one. So I really appreciate you guys putting those in there. And now we got C Black. Each Avengers movie will make close to $3 billion worth the investment. All for the rooster revising on other projects besides Avengers film.
Starting point is 01:17:43 Advising on other ones makes sense because they're going to have to tell their story and get it to there in the same way that they did the other ones. I wouldn't put a guarantee on each one making, are you know you're talking about 1.5 or 3.3 billion each? I think 3 billion each. I wouldn't put that out there. I don't care how much of a seminal you are. This is like you said,
Starting point is 01:18:06 the seminal logo on there. But yeah, that's a tough, that's a tough one. Three billion? That's not an easy task. You forget that it's $3 billion with all these characters that people aren't necessarily on board with. That's the thing. Yeah, you've still got Thor and Dr. Strange and you've got Spider-Man,
Starting point is 01:18:25 and you've got Scarlet Witch, but like, there's a lot of other characters that you had in the first Infinity War and End game that aren't part of the Marvel universe anymore. People are going to be hyped, though, to see now, maybe not even hyped as much as like a,
Starting point is 01:18:37 almost like a real curiosity of how Downey's going to do this. Right. And it might add to a lot of box office. I don't know. D. Murdoch, I really want to see Killian Murphy as Victor von Dune, but I think Downey could work, and it'd be interesting to see great, the greatest hero become the greatest villain, but tell me when the Russo's in the
Starting point is 01:18:55 MCU didn't work out. I'll wait. I know. And it's not, it's not that I don't think it's going to be quality. It's not that I don't think Downey can, cannot pull it off. I think he can. As we were mentioning earlier, I think it's the money that I don't know if it's worth the investment. Yeah. The amount of money they're going to spend on those movies. Yeah. It's like, it's got to be the most expensive two movies ever. Yeah. And the question is, is it front loaded? Like, are they paying them this much right off the back because they're like, you know, the residuals are not going to be like they were before. You're not going to get back in. You're not going to get points because, I mean, this feels like a losing money venture.
Starting point is 01:19:35 If they go this route to pay them that much money. And this now gives other actors leverage. If you don't think Cumberbatch, Hemsworth, Scarlet, not, Elizabeth Olson. I bet you they sign them already. I bet you. I bet you that. I'd be. super pissed if they did that i'd be like talking to my agent's going hey you need to figure this out you sign them up no way if i'm i'll play i'll play the i'll pay the i'll pay the corporate uh yeah go corporate guy there if if it's like okay look here's here's our deal i know i'm i'm doing a schmodeown reunion i'm no one no we can't get roca back no one no one's going to get roca back at all so we're not getting so we're going to i got i got i got i got i got i got i got cownowska i got rachel
Starting point is 01:20:19 I got Clark, I got everybody, and I got everybody back. Everybody's back. You sure? Yeah, everybody's coming back. Guess what? John's going to come back, but he's going to come back as the commissioner. You got that? You got to come back as a commissioner?
Starting point is 01:20:31 He's going to come back as a commissioner. All right, fine. We're going to pay him a little bit more than everybody else. Would everybody else assign? Everybody else is signed. And that's how it works. I love that. We have a, if you're down and you love that idea.
Starting point is 01:20:43 Of course. We had an alternate universe commissioner or storyline. We kicked around. I remember. of the way of those. Sim, question Oroka about skeleton crew not testing well. Who's the audience, the target audience, or general audience with
Starting point is 01:20:56 a variety of different people, wondering before taking it with a grand assault. I want to clarify this. People, these aggregators ran with this bullshit. What I said was, and I clarified it on the show because I think I initially slightly misspoke when I said it initially with Jeff and I, which happens. Look, we have back and forth some time.
Starting point is 01:21:12 But I said that people behind the scenes at Star Wars and Lucasfilm are concerned about skeleton crew, right? It didn't say they were concerned about the quality. It was they were concerned about how people are going to receive this show with the way they've done it. That's what I said. And that's what I clarified later on in the show.
Starting point is 01:21:31 The aggregators took a little bit of what I said earlier and made it seem like Star Wars thinks they have a turkey on their hands. That's not what I meant to imply. So I had to clarify that. There's just concern behind the scenes because of how the most recent. series, the Ackleite was received, and Osoca as well. I've heard about, I don't know how true it is, but I heard from Ackleid, I heard there's no world where it's
Starting point is 01:21:58 getting a season two. Yeah, I hope. I heard from somebody that said, they heard from somebody pretty close inside. A person who knows somebody who knows somebody who knows, somebody who knows, so take it over the brain of it's all. But from what I heard from this particular person is that there's no world where Akelet gets a season two. NLSFC-96. I think the
Starting point is 01:22:15 ultimate villain is the one who knows the Avengers team the best. It's jarring. I think it's genius to get Downey. Echoes of Anakin's turn and episode, but he's not Stark. He doesn't know the Avengers team. He doesn't know them the best. He hasn't fought this Avengers team at all. Yeah, he doesn't know them. How does he, but how does he know them? It's not, he's not Star. He's not, he's not a variant of Stark. So he, it's complete. That's, that's, that's, that's, but see, this is the problem. Yeah. This is what people are going to be so confused with because he's like, no, that could work. It's, you got Tony Stark who knows it so well and he can use it against them, but it's not Tony Stark.
Starting point is 01:22:47 It's not him. He's a totally different person. So that's the confusing part. I swear to God, if he comes out like Tony Stark as Victor von Doom, I'm going to be so. Get ready for it. It's what he's going to do. He's going to have the sneakers and everything. Carlos Sosa, hey guys, Spider-Man is an essential character in the Secret War storyline just like Doom. You think he will be in the movie or not? Thoughts? Yeah, I think he'll be in the movie. I think that's part of Holland's new deal is that he's got to be in secret. 100%. Yeah, they'll make an announcement on Spider-Man for soon. Yeah. Yeah. Or don't.
Starting point is 01:23:17 Darth Archie, if he could bring it like he did in Rain of Fire, McConaughey is doing, would have been awesome. All right, all right. Uh, yeah, I mean, it's, it's, you know, you can do so many who could have, who could have been, right? Yeah, uh, rain of fire was 22 years ago. My guy, he's not going to be brigad. I saw that movie in, I remember I saw that movie in Santa Monica. Oh, wow. Yes, on the third street prominent. I saw that. NLSFC, I just wholly disagree with Rokan opening ceremonies. So many host cities, including Europe,
Starting point is 01:23:52 and this is the first time I had to change my channel with my seven-year-old around. I mean, but look, his point is right, I think, John. Like, you know, there's been tons of different places that have hosted the Olympics that have opening ceremonies that are not the U.S., that have had culture very differently and didn't do stuff. It's like the play honor to the game. And we're not making, we're not making a sexual social statement here for when you're playing horseback riding and gymnastics.
Starting point is 01:24:22 That was like this much of the opening ceremony we're talking about. And so the rest of the opening ceremony, there was so much incredible music and opera, but like, look, I think he's wrong because, yes, there have been other cities, but France or other countries, France wanted to go this direction. France making an artistic statement. They're in the middle of a hell of a culture war between two sides of their people and the people want to come up with it
Starting point is 01:24:48 and they have a right to do that. So yeah. I hear you about your seven-year-old. That's your personal decision, but I better not hear you taking a seven-year-old to an R-rated movie, which a lot of parents do in our society. Probably complained about the Olympic ceremony.
Starting point is 01:25:02 So yeah. HV, thank you to Josh, by the way. HV3. Would have this been a good, Modown question in the original twister movie who was playing on the drive-in when the twister hit i mean that's like that's like a 10-pointer i don't know that's like a 10-pointer that person just watched twisters recently yeah i do that all the time um wrestling with movies my fancast for doom was killing and murphy and irony i know it's funny because now that if i'm i wonder if i'm uh
Starting point is 01:25:36 I wonder if I'm if I'm killing Murphy if I was up for that role if I'm now mad at my co-star from off-hour again it could be that he is going to be doomed just not initially this multiverse thing and I look I love multiverse the idea of multiverses and everything and like I just said I love absolutely dark matter was fantastic fantastic and I love the idea of it and all those different things but like I agree with Deadpool hasn't worked for Marvel. Cowboys fan. Hi, John and Harleff, in terms of Marvel's Comic Con,
Starting point is 01:26:12 24 panel, the only thing that annoyed me was Robert Dan Jr. coming back to play Doom. I was not one for him to return to begin with to the MCU. I know because it's like, their argument is going to be, well, he's not coming back at Stark, so it doesn't really hurt. It doesn't hurt what we did with him with Stark. That's when their argument's going to be. And it's like, yeah, but you're still,
Starting point is 01:26:35 you're still bringing them back. Yeah. So I don't know. I think a lot of people feel that way. Josh Romance again. Thanks, Josh. Deadpool Wolverine is a parody version of Secret Wars parallels. I mean, it does. I mean, there is a lot of parody going on in Deadpool Wolverine for sure. I don't, I don't want, I don't want it to continue to go down that route where like I liked, I think that out of the three movies, it was the goofiest out of the three. Yeah. And that's fine. You get one big goofy one, but go back to, I want to see if they do a Deadpool four. go smaller again. Oh, yeah, probably, right?
Starting point is 01:27:09 Probably have to go smaller, yeah. I hope, but maybe not. If they're like, well, we didn't go small last time. We made a billion dollars. Francisco Lopez. I really liked that pole Wolverine. It was fun. It was funny. And I got misty eye during the credits. Yeah, I mean, the Queen Day music was in the way that they did that. That was, I mean, that was a nice way to pay respect to much. That's why anybody said that they desecrated it. I actually thought the opposite to Fox universe.
Starting point is 01:27:33 They did a really nice job. I agree on how they did that it was they could I mean even showed even showed footage from the damn in the credit post credit scene is a montage I'm gonna ruin anything for anybody yeah but like uh the fantastic four that the the Josh Trank one for god sakes they showed everything they weren't yeah yeah um creep mode jack active and obsolete no geek buddy Deadpool review John yeah Michael lost his voice over the weekend uh laryngitis they think maybe so we have to wait I don't want to do the geek buddies review without Michael and I wouldn't do it without Shannon. That movie is too big for the three of us to not do it together. So right now, the tentative plans are Thursday morning. We'll do it live maybe at 10 or nine, depending on the time, but that's when we're going to do it. Did you do a spoiler review by yourself? No, I just felt like, oh wait, for Deadpool and Wolverine? Did I tell you? No, I should have done one. I was waiting for the boys because we were going to do it right afterwards. I mean, too. I did tapes and cows with them on Monday. I did my own on. Yeah. No, you were smart.
Starting point is 01:28:35 You're smarter person than me. You know that. Well, you submitted it. Artem, Chapmanian. Time Air will wipe everyone's minds and no one will recognize it is. For sure. It's the multiverse. It's the multiverse.
Starting point is 01:28:48 I'll bring him in. Francisco Lopez. Hey, Roka, your wrestling show will be back this week, right? Under the Ring Generals. Yeah, he made that announcement a little earlier. I probably put that in earlier, too. We'll have some fun. John's coming back to do his show with Aaron.
Starting point is 01:29:00 Who's your other co-host? Christopher Burns. Chris Burns. Yeah. And Tom Gunn. A light spoiler for Deadpool and Wolverine, but the anchor concept is the one that seems problematic adding on the MCU multiverse. What's your thought on it? P.S.
Starting point is 01:29:12 You guys are coolest. Well, thank you. What's the anchor being? The anchor being. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I kind of like that, that, that whole thing. Well, I don't know how, but how true was it, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because you got a look at who's the person telling me.
Starting point is 01:29:29 Yeah, I don't know how accurate it was. Right, I agree. Yeah. Wrestling and movies. Who would have been your Doom fancast? Henry Cavill. Without hesitation. Yeah, 100%.
Starting point is 01:29:40 That's how they should have used them. Fancast or Dreamcast, because Denzo Washington 10 years ago is a great doom. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I didn't really like anybody that they had suggested, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 01:29:57 It's such an incredible character. I haven't seen anybody in my mind that I necessarily used. Daniel Day Lewis. That's my only choice. Daniel Day Lewis. Yeah. Carlton Rutter, Christian, see you later for the Patreon Q&A. Yeah, we're doing a Patreon Q&A.
Starting point is 01:30:11 And I'm also doing a thing on Patreon, by the way, if people don't know, is I was doing these things for last year where it was like these one-on-one sessions where I would talk to patrons that they signed up and I would do like half an hour of things. But then I was like, well, one of the things I always wanted to do is community. I like being community. So like we're going to do two or three times a month for like an hour. We're going to take people. If people sign up to it, we're going to do like five or six people.
Starting point is 01:30:33 I'm not sure how many people peel these. handling it but we're going to do like it's almost like we're calling it the bar where we're going to hang out talk have a drink and discuss like uh what's going on it's having a conversation people have like projects they're working on they can talk about it so we're doing like a cool little thing it's almost like a little podcast i'm throw it back and forth and ask people questions about themselves and you get to know people a little bit more in the community so you can join on up to the patreon if you want to do that but the q and a is a little later on today um okay so now Those over Zoom or you do those over?
Starting point is 01:31:05 I do those here in the extreme year. Oh, nice. Okay, so people come in live on camera and talk about it. Yeah, it's Patreon exclusive. I was bringing people. We haven't done it yet. The ones that I was doing the one-on-one, the 30-minute ones, like this. We just talked for like a half an hour.
Starting point is 01:31:18 I got to know a lot of great people. But then I was like, you know, it'll be great to those people that I've met. Like one of the guys I got to know really well is like is Darien, right? Darian and another guy is Vikram. Like those two guys. I was like, oh, now I get to hang out with both Darien and Rickram at the same time, and Darren can meet Vikram. They both live in the East Coast area and like,
Starting point is 01:31:37 and you introduce people within the same interests and that kind of stuff. I thought that was a little bit more, a little bit better. Okay. Creep Mo Jack. Absc. Active and obsolete. When the TVA guy, Dis, Canada was to keep my country out, your effing mouth in the intro of Deadpool
Starting point is 01:31:54 through a reference to Will Smith, Oscar smack, 100%. Of course. 100% it was. Absolutely. Joseph Weeks, who should direct the LA opening ceremonies? You almost feel like Spielberg's got to do it, right? Especially because he did the whole thing that came up. What?
Starting point is 01:32:10 I think you should have Tarantino do. Oh, stop it. See, you, you are just desecrating it all. And have somebody in a Gimp mask doing it, right, John? Artem Shachryman. Basil is the anchor, Bazzle is the anchor. Basil is the anchor being. Spassel.
Starting point is 01:32:30 It's heard. The worst. Mike Joyce, with Rousseau's returning and being proponents of AI, you think those movies will be way for the studio to shove AI down the industry's throat. You think so, John? Yep. You all better let go of all of that.
Starting point is 01:32:45 It's whatever morality we had on that is out the window. I'm telling you right now, studios are going to be implementing it more and more, and there'll be a bubble of people who were complaining about it and rage at the machine and throw and be donkey, Hode about it, but the truth is, it's all changing. And AI is going to be a part of our lives. And a majority of people don't care about the people who are going to be hurt by it.
Starting point is 01:33:08 They don't. And that's the truth of life, unfortunately, you know. We're at 446 on the Clips Channel, 446. Nice. Almost at 500. Can we get there? Come on, guys. Help me out.
Starting point is 01:33:20 All right. Motor roll. Gunther over Priest. Live over Ria. I think Liv definitely beats Ria, by the way. If they're smart, they would do that. Yeah, drag it out a little bit. Drag it out.
Starting point is 01:33:32 Otherwise, she's just going to be beaten up on everybody and beating when, you know, defending the title. Logan, and if he keeps it, I can't wait to see him a collective three more times in 2024. Cody over solo. Braun over Sammy. I hope Braun beat Sammy this time. I don't know if he will, though. And not that I want this, but Naya over Bailey.
Starting point is 01:33:53 I definitely want to see Nia beat Bailey. I like Nyajax. Man, I'm like one of the few people who likes to like Nike. Like Nyadjax. Those are some safe bets for sure. Yeah. All right. So next one.
Starting point is 01:34:05 Dancing Dog 60. So why not recast to Chala? I feel like audience was except the new actor playing the role. Thoughts? I think at this point, they've dove into the fact they're going to have his son takeover. Yeah. They're going to wait.
Starting point is 01:34:18 They're going to have his son takeover. So I think that that, I think that ship has passed. Yeah, 100%. Yeah. Or ship has sailed. there rather creep mo jack either way it's going past either way active and obsolete no worry robert dan junior will play himself and not act too different from his tony stark character some actors
Starting point is 01:34:35 play themselves too much true will feral adam sandler downy needs to transform to go or go method i mean he definitely was different in oppenheimer yeah he was but the question is the question is he going to put that kind of work into the marvel movie where he's like i still you know he's like not that he's not going to put in work he always does but like is he going to transform himself to play Victor von Doom. Yeah. And this is the thing they're stuck with, right? Because, you know, as you think about it, what's the reason people love the Marvel movie, love Tony Stark and Marvel movies because of how Robert Downey Jr. plays him. So if you're going to have him play Victor Von Doom,
Starting point is 01:35:11 but there's no Tony Starkerisms to him, then the people who love the Tony Stark portrayal are going to be less inclined maybe to enjoy the RDJ portrayal of Dr. Doom possibly because they're not going to get that RDJ energy as Tony Stark. So you're attractive. acting people back to your franchise by saying you're bringing back this character and or this actor rather that everybody loved but the actor is not coming back doing the same role so that energy that people are excited about seeing back in the MCU is not actually going to be in the emceu it's going to be a completely different kind of image so we'll see we'll see Matt sinister mccall who is a known marvel character that you can't stand mine is definitely joe fix it
Starting point is 01:35:51 Joe Fix, if you're watching, eat farts, load the content go to her. Thank you, man. I'm not sure. Who's, who's a character? No, no. I don't know. It's a good one.
Starting point is 01:36:01 A horrible character I hate. I'm not trying to think of the one said I don't. I mean, I have to look into it. I'm not sure. First rate, Nate. With the poor writing and accolite, I did an end or rewatch, and I'm still forward by how good that season was especially the right.
Starting point is 01:36:16 I can't wait for season two. Me too. I hope, I would be great. It would be great if someone, said, hey, I know that we thought that we shouldn't go in the direction of Andor, but maybe we should. Maybe we should actually do the writing, like good writing like Andor, and maybe stay away from the childish writing.
Starting point is 01:36:34 Is that possible? Yeah. And Flonio will throw his cowboy hat, whoever says. Okay. Next, next one. Let's see. We have a bunch coming out here, too. We got a couple, actually.
Starting point is 01:36:47 And Crete mode again. Creme mode coming in hot. problem with Downey is Doom. Even when I watch this do a little movie, I can't stop thinking. Why is Tony Stark talking to animals? He's typecasted. I mean, you're not wrong because he implemented his personality into Tony Stark because he was so similar.
Starting point is 01:37:04 And he has said it on record of how, at all the characters he's played is the most like him. Yeah. Yeah. It's going to be hard. It's going to be very, very hard. Yeah. Speech cover has got to change.
Starting point is 01:37:15 Everything is everything. Yeah. Angus follows it up and says, because of the Marvel, doom casting, I am waiting for DC to copy Marvel and cast Cavill as Brainiac. I don't think that
Starting point is 01:37:27 a gun will have to do that. I don't think Cabell's going back. No, Kevin won't. Let's ask you the question real quick. I know we got questions. I'll feel anything. No, no. What did you think about the fact that James Gunn didn't show anything of the
Starting point is 01:37:41 Superman footage that they've shot for weeks now in Cleveland showed no compilation, was no presence of Comic-Con when Superman is going to come out before the next Comic-Con, why wouldn't you have a panel, bring out the cast, show like a minute, teaser footage.
Starting point is 01:37:57 All they did was the logo, the DC logo. Don't you think this is an opportunity lost? No, I don't. Really? No, because I don't think Comic-Con is beneficial to anyone. I don't. You just said, okay. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:38:11 In terms of money spent, the amount of money they spent on that MCU panel, They could have done, they could have rented out a damn thing at, they could have done the same thing that they did at the Hollywood theater years ago and done something there in Hollywood, brought someone and spent a quarter of what you spent. And the amount of money that they spent to do all that stuff, studios traditionally lose money. That's why they kept pulling out of that thing. Yeah. Comic-Con is fun for the fans. It is, it is a money suck for studios.
Starting point is 01:38:45 It makes no sense these days to do it. If I'm gun and I'm, and plus, I don't want to get overshadowed. Maybe you had an inside tip. Oh, yeah. Good point. You're going to be, you're going to have a, you're going to have a thing on Friday, and then they're going to do their down, or Saturday morning and they're going to do things. F you, we're going to have, Superman's going to take it.
Starting point is 01:39:03 We'll do a fandom thing. We'll do something else. When the time is right, he, what did he did last time? He rented out Warner or you had Warner Brothers and he had the press come out and he showed footage there. And he did a big thing. And it cost them nothing because he did it on the lot. Yeah. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:16 That's that logic. I can see that logic that they're overshadowed by Marvel. Yeah. And it's just like, but it's just not, it's not worth the money of Comic Con. I was like, Comic Con should be what it was last year. They should get, they should go. Go back to what it was. Shea Markell, what's up, Shane?
Starting point is 01:39:32 Hey, guys, I'm still a huge fan of the show. Don't kill me. But House of the Dragon, season two isn't as enjoyable. I thought you were loving like, wasn't he in here? What wasn't him? No. Oh, no. It's not as enjoyable season one for me.
Starting point is 01:39:45 Yeah, yeah. He loves Agon, I thought. didn't he? I don't know. I feel not enough is happening. Like there's a lot of dead space. Long live, one, I disagree with that hold hard. I think that there is something happening. Every word of dialogue, there is something happening.
Starting point is 01:39:59 Every second, there is something happening. This episode, respect the opinion, but this season to me is just like chef's kiss. I love everything they're doing it and it ended up so great in that last episode. I mean, the Dragon Rider scene from this last
Starting point is 01:40:14 episode was fantastic. So like, There's so much going on, as Christian said, within the words and in between the words and in stuff that's not being said. That's so exciting to see. So I've been loving this season as well. It's very, very well written. I love it. Very well acted.
Starting point is 01:40:31 I should want them coming off with the acolyde like this, like, like, like creep mo jack. I hope they don't do a retread of Dr. Strange from what if where he went mad trying to save Christine and become evil with the Doom R.D.J. I don't think that they're going to play with that. I don't think they're going to do that. they're just going to have him be a different dude and he's just not a good dude.
Starting point is 01:40:51 Yeah, that's what it seems like. I was just, I've seen some pundits post a run where, you know, Tony Stark or Dr. Iron Man becomes Dr. Doom essentially. They posted the comics and the comics. But like I saw a great thread where someone broke down how that would not work in the MCU. And so many of these comic book knowledgeable pundits
Starting point is 01:41:14 were ridiculing people who had an issue with this storyline and I love that I'm gonna repost that thread as a destruction of those people who are trying to shame people who had an issue with this storyline because there's legitimate issues to be had here about how this is gonna work um mad sinister mccall jason versus freddie versus twitter trolls movie perth beth he's he's breaking all the scoops today um i would love to see that movie happen actually skeleton strange new world's number one fan i'm annoyed by people who repeat the word desperate about downy when doomsday comes out and And it takes all of the monies.
Starting point is 01:41:48 I'm going to super chat blast all the people who are desperate to be negative. It's going to make money opening weekend for sure. There's no doubt about it. The question is, what's it going to be, you know, with the response from the fans? And is it going to work? What's the initial review is going to be from the critics about if it works? That's the stuff. Is it going to feel desperate or is going to feel creative?
Starting point is 01:42:11 Yeah. And if it doesn't work, what did they do then? That's true. BAM 86. Thank you, BAM. I think the Fantastic Four universe is going to be Earth 616 and inside the classic comic book era. So their doom will be the real doom and R. Stark will have been the variant. Interesting. Yeah. Possible.
Starting point is 01:42:28 Yeah, it could be. And then Ed Boy movies. Hey, guys, would it make sense to possibly give Downey a Colin Farrell penguin type treatment if they have to unmask him at some point and use prosthetics? Ooh. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe it depends. What does he go allow him to do that?
Starting point is 01:42:47 I don't know. And will he do an accent? Is he going to do in Eastern European accent? Yeah, that's true. Creep mode coming in hot here, man. Thank you so much. Anyone else think that the plot to make Logan the new anger for the X-Men universe failed and will cause a multiverse incursion instead.
Starting point is 01:43:05 When they said higher-ups want Deadpool, I'm thinking, Loki wants to destroy the multiverse. Loki manipulated Deadpool, I think it gets too complicated when you do it. if you go dive that deep into it. You got to make this stuff. You got to simplify this and nip this in the butt as fast as you can. You can't keep diving into this stuff because you're going to lose, you're going to lose the casuals.
Starting point is 01:43:23 Yeah. Yeah. Thank you very much for that, by the way. It was very, very fine. Ben, after Deadpool and Wolverine, I feel Deadpool's going to be very important in the MCU. Are you guys excited for SummerSlam? I'm excited to see what happens in SummerSlam for sure.
Starting point is 01:43:37 I want to say it's a very solid card. I agree. It's one of the best cards I've seen quite a while. Definitely going to do a live one. watch a little. Oh, are you? Okay, good. Good, good, good. Um, okay. So let's see. Next one here is his creep mode again. Creep mode is like, is all the questions that. Cool. I've been watching from the clouds since WV. What's that? Wanda vision, I think. Oh, Wanda vision. Okay. I think creep mode has been just, thank you much, very much. And Shay comes back in. Shea Markill. Hey, fellas, are there any
Starting point is 01:44:07 indie writers directors you'd like to see handle a larger project? I'm really pushing for Gareth Evans, gangs of London, the raid, to get something juicy and obscure. Yeah, it would be great to see. I mean, I'm not going to lie as much. I used to be so locked into that entire scene that I could tell you, like, throw stuff I remember back when before Gavin Hood even had anything. I was saying Gavin Hood. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:28 So I don't know. John, you're probably a little bit more versed in that stuff right now. Who would you pick? I mean, there's a, I don't, I don't know, man. There's a lot of choices of people working, but how many of them would actually transfer over. You know what I'm saying? And I think that's where like Boots Riley would be really interesting to see what his take on a Black Panther movie would be or on a black superhero. I'd love to see Boots Riley's approach to that. You know, we already had Chloe Zhao and how did that work out. So
Starting point is 01:44:57 it's not, we had those two who did the first Captain Marvel movie. So it's just, but then we had Ryan Cougler. So it's just about, well, what can we get? And can they fit the, the vibe? I mean, Greta Gerwig taken over a Wonder Woman movie. I mean, sorry. Captain Marvel series where they recast Captain Marvel, that could be interesting, I feel like. It would be interesting. We are 46 away, by the way, on the new channel, 46 away. So I just put the link in there again.
Starting point is 01:45:24 All we need is just need less than 50 of you to sign up today, and we'll hit that 500 mark. Jay Mobile. I just hope that we eventually get an actual factual Victor von Doom, hopefully sooner rather than later. Just use Doom, Robert Dane Jr. to wrap up the multiverse. I mean, maybe, but I think that's so, It's just like I always think about the casual fans.
Starting point is 01:45:44 Yeah. The casual fans get introduced to Dr. June Downey and then it's like, oh yeah, well, we'll have somebody else. Just give us that person first. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. So bizarre.
Starting point is 01:45:54 Screwface John comes back in. I think, hey, man. I think the multiverse kind of lowers the stakes. Thank you, by the way, John. If there's a million versions of one character, why does it matter if they die in this universe? I'm with them. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:07 I agree. Like, it's like, yeah, it doesn't matter. Yeah, Tony Stark, there's like, it's, It's unlimited. So just grab another Tony Stark, put them in there. Fine. I'll just go to another, you know, everybody's alive. It's really what it turns out to be.
Starting point is 01:46:20 So we just had it in the D&W films. So yeah. Right. I'm looking for them to really get rid of the multiverse stuff. I'll be excited when it just goes back to the X-Men movies. Bam 86. Did you guys see the U.S. Olympic team almost lose to South Sudan?
Starting point is 01:46:35 It was amazing that what they get for turning the NBA soft. Did they almost lose? Yeah, they almost lost. Wow. It's because you're bringing together all stars who don't play with each other all the time. You know, there's something soft. There's nothing soft.
Starting point is 01:46:49 Go tell LeBrona soft. He is all fast. He kicks your balls through the roof of your mouth. This is the thing you have to look at. These guys are tough, but they haven't played with each other. But none of the teams did in the past. No,
Starting point is 01:46:59 no. They, a lot of these teams play with each other because they don't have professional leagues. Magic and Kobe played together. I'm saying in the other countries, they get more time with each other. Jordan and Magic. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:12 You're talking 90s, but that was the dream team. And those countries weren't as advanced in basketball as they are now. That was like 30 years ago, the dream team. So, yeah. Oops. That's, uh, turn that off. I won't turn off. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 01:47:32 We'll turn off. Okay. So the next one. Haskell 420. How epic was that rings of power trailer? Wow. Nah. I loved it.
Starting point is 01:47:41 loved it. I did a reaction on my channel. I did not like the first season that much. It looks better. It does look. It looks like they learned what was the wrong with season one and fixed it, I think. I mean, fool me once.
Starting point is 01:47:58 Okay, let's see. Next one here. Israel Fury. Roka is off on the Olympics take. It was not the place for that. It's a world event with many families. See? You're wrong, Israel, because...
Starting point is 01:48:13 It's not wrong. My opinion, I think he's wrong, is what I'm saying. That's my opinion. I think you're wrong because you think everybody raises their family in the same way and they don't. So stop putting your idea of how families should be raised on other people's raising of their families. Europeans are classically much more open to all the... Because they don't have the puritanical approach as the sexuality. It's a foundation approach of our country.
Starting point is 01:48:38 it's completely different than how but i'm talking about young kids though young sick i don't think that there's a lot of six-year-old kids are exposed to war death violence all the time if you think not not not seven-year-olds on on tic-tok you're insane no i don't think i'm i don't i mean six-year-olds shouldn't be on ticot i know they shouldn't be but i don't i both know we would kids we try to do all gods of stuff. I don't know, man. I think we ever, I do think, and I don't say this. You don't have children. Right. I know. You're right. You're right. Very different thing. Because I can, my wife and I have this conversation with people all the time. People think like, oh, you know, you turn into a different person and your mentality and your thought
Starting point is 01:49:25 process changes dramatically when you have children. Because you worry of because you're only, because your thought is not about you anymore. It's not about, like, you, obviously you think about you, you think about your girlfriend, but you don't, you don't, that's, your only thought is about your children and your future of your children. That's it. That's it. And so when, when I have my, my little one who's sitting there with this big smile on her face, ready to like, looking at the, the gymnastics and all this, and then she's like, well, what's that mean? I'm like, I don't want to have that conversation right now. I don't want to have that talk. It's not a talk about a six-year-old. My 12-year-old was watching and I'd be like, eh, I don't know why they showed that, but, you know,
Starting point is 01:50:00 this isn't this. Anyway, Tim, hot take, and or should be on a platform for all other Star Wars shows to follow in terms of matching writing and character development, quality, losing variety, and fun for different Star Wars fans. Andrew shouldn't be put on a platform for other shows. Well, I think it should. I'll tell you why I think it should because the other ones have smelled like big old farts. And if they didn't smell like big old farts, then you can make an argument for it. The problem is that all the other shows are so childish and they're just not good.
Starting point is 01:50:31 Bad writing. You can still make a show towards young and. old, but give good writing. The writing is terrible on these shows. Yeah, people misunderstand all the time about the Andor thing. It's not like you should make the exact copy of Andor and put it in this universe. No.
Starting point is 01:50:47 It's about you should write the writing, the direction, the acting, the performances, the storylines. It should be that quality, that level of quality. We're not saying make everything gritty and angry and throw cuss words anymore. It's about quality. Treat
Starting point is 01:51:03 them like the way, it feels like an HBO Mac show and or yeah treat every show like an HBO Mac show just give a good writing yeah exactly uh harsh bait Robert day and junior being doomed is like seen a turning heel during his farewell run audiences don't want to hate the guy or watch him lose it's a good point yeah unfortunately it's headed for failure unless they make him an anti hero I mean it's a good point yeah how are you going to root against Robert tony junior right you're really i mean people would said seeing the Hogan. So you got to, you got to, how are you going to make that work? Hank Pimp, just started Banshee. Either of you watch it.
Starting point is 01:51:38 Nobody here, great things. Did you ever watch it? No, I've never seen it, but a lot of people told me to watch it. Do you know what I just started watching? The umbrella academy. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm, I've finished all three seasons. So I'm interviewing the kid that plays Diego. Oh, I love that guy. Yeah, awesome. So that's why I wanted to watch it. I'm interviewing him on Friday to it next week. Because of season four coming up. So I was like, let me check out. That's a pretty good show. Yeah. It is. Israel fearing.
Starting point is 01:52:05 Robert Nye Jr. was the wrong choice. We needed a doom with gravitas. No quips, no previous MCU presence. I'm not going to argue. Not going to argue. But where they're at right now. Yeah. The dart double.
Starting point is 01:52:19 Hey, Roka, thoughts on Drone Gate at the Olympics. Yeah, to give a little background real quick, it's basically Canada. Canada has been using, they got caught using a drone to spy on other team's practices. and a lot of it this apparently goes back some years so they just got caught by New Zealand and so they got found out the coach was let go for like she's been suspended for a year other people involved and so to me it's very dirty it's cheating and I do not believe when
Starting point is 01:52:47 all the players say they had no idea bull crap everybody talks everybody has stuff going on so maybe not all of them knew but some of them knew that the coach was doing this so I think Canada's getting proper they should have been kicked out of the Olympics in my opinion all their wind should have been vacated but you know they're taking the soft approach to it in my opinion exalted 10 Robert day jr has doom wreaks of desperation pure spreadsheet decision i mean i mean it's like when people say stuff like that it's just you can't you can't dispute it yet because you can't see you can't even seen it so it can't dispute it king's port gal marvell's week casting robert djradorly move it does seem that there's more negative
Starting point is 01:53:25 in this chat than there are positive um carlos sosa you guys going to a D23 will they announce more MCU they'll announce more TV stuff I'm not going I was invited but I can't I can't get there to L.A. to do it so I'm going to be in New York but um but there it is going to it's going to they're going to do a lot of MCU TV stuff are you going John that might be I think I'm done with all cons man I'm at that age now where it's just the amount of people that go and yeah and it was fun but like now I just do the stories you don't need to for your TV for your channel you better off being home Covenant from the
Starting point is 01:54:01 Artem. Nine international NBA players during Dream Team Olympics. 66 international NBA players during this one. Competition is stronger. Yeah. Maybe that's it too.
Starting point is 01:54:11 And they know each other. Yeah, that's true. Exalted 10. I saw a TikToker the other day that chronicled the story of Perry Saturn getting the Moppy storyline as a punishment for hurting another wrestler. A match.
Starting point is 01:54:22 Did Christian Barry Petter Perry Saturn? No, I was just given. I was given that after he had already been punished. I was given him, it was, what's his face, the milk carton. I had to put Moppy on a milk cart. I wrote, you're right. I wrote that.
Starting point is 01:54:38 That's great. Wrestling with movies. How would you do Romans return at Summerston? That's a harder one to do. I think he comes in to save Cody from all the other summer, all the other. And they'll team up together. Yeah, with Paul Heyman, with Paul Heiman. Which would be great.
Starting point is 01:54:57 Yeah. BAM 86, Dom needs, Doom needs to be free. I have no reason to believe they can pull this off. None of us do. Yeah, he's got to be weird. I mean, he's a great actor, so he still can do it. Is he scary? Is he intimidating? I don't know. I've never been intimidated by what I do it.
Starting point is 01:55:12 Yes, boy, all this shit is going on in Westrose. Meanwhile, Damon is tripping balls in Louisiana's mansion. What are some of your favorite moments of season two? I mean, the last, episode seven is hard to top, what happens at the very end. But I mean, there's tons of them. And as far as, I think there's, there's, I think there's a lot. I think that there's a lot of different ones.
Starting point is 01:55:31 I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen it. But I think that the end of episode seven for, for sure. Yeah. John, I think we did it. Oh, yeah. Is that everything? Okay. Yeah, that's everything.
Starting point is 01:55:42 So we had a really solid, solid run there. Thank you guys for everybody who, I'm going to check one last time on my, on this channel, see if we got close to the 500. Wow. We got the 463. We got the 463. So I'll take it. Thank you guys for help.
Starting point is 01:55:56 We're almost at 500. We need to get it at 500. It's the goal on the new clips channel. John, where can people find you, my man? Starting point is 01:56:14 later on this week. Oh, Tim Smith has one more. Me on most Star Wars shows writing, except and are being childish, uh, greed, disagree. That's fine. I just, I can't find any. If you don't think that that's seen with, with Leah running around in the woods is childish.
Starting point is 01:56:29 Whoa. Whoa. I just, we're going to be on different pages. It was so bad. But thank you, again, Tim, you're very,
Starting point is 01:56:36 very, oh, there's still more stuff coming in. Norman P. How would you book, Otis? Oh, your book Otis and more.
Starting point is 01:56:44 I never, look, I'm not an Otis person, so however they book them is however they book. I don't know. Finally, Israel. Marvel needs to shut down the multiverse.
Starting point is 01:56:53 Yep. Ironman, death's perfect end-off. Agreed. Death must mean something. Couldn't agree more. And thank you for you very generous. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:56:59 We may disagree with those. I agree with you one more. Yeah. All right. Joke, get out of here. Bye, everybody. Peace. All right.
