The Kristian Harloff Show - Is Clayface In Trouble?! Tracking For 20 Million?!

Episode Date: October 13, 2026

Is James Gunn's DC Universe facing another box office problem? New reports suggest Clayface is struggling with advance ticket sales, with pre-sales reportedly the lowest of any DCU movie so far and ea...rly projections pointing toward an opening weekend below $20 million. On today's Kristian Harloff Show, we're breaking down the latest Clayface box office tracking, what the disappointing early ticket sales could mean for DC Studios, and whether James Gunn and Peter Safran should be concerned about the future of their cinematic universe. With Clayface arriving in theaters October 23, the R-rated DC horror movie has a reported production budget of approximately $40 million, making it considerably less expensive than traditional superhero blockbusters. But even with a smaller budget, could weak opening-weekend numbers put pressure on DC Studios? We're discussing whether Clayface can overcome its slow pre-sales, how important positive reviews and word of mouth will be, and whether the movie's horror approach could attract audiences closer to Halloween. More importantly, does Clayface need to perform like Superman or Supergirl to be considered successful, or should DC Studios be judging its smaller, genre-driven projects by an entirely different standard? Starting point is 00:00:01 Godzilla minus zero, a highly anticipated movie for a lot of people. I had the opportunity to check out the movie already. I saw a little earlier. And then I saw a lot of the buzz before I went to see the movie. And I said, Oscar worthy. This is Oscar worthy. Is it Oscar worthy? That's a conversation that I will have with John Roker.
Starting point is 00:00:21 We'll also be talking about the new trailer that dropped for it. There's some new images from Miami Vice, box office winners, a couple other things. Roka and I won't be arguing too much because, hey, we tied, which is fine. We need to lose like the Eagles. So let's get into the show. It's a Christian Rove show here today on Monday. It's me and John Roker. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Did you shit in there? Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the show here today. And I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for sticking with me. I was Friday. I took the day off. And that was because I went and saw Godzilla. well I'll tell my story a little bit but today joining me on the show as always on my
Starting point is 00:01:16 John Roka is here what's up John how was the weekend besides the fact that the cowboys and the Eagles ate duty so did my commanders tying with the giants which was horrific oh yeah but at least he didn't lose we didn't lose I guess you didn't lose I mean even though I was I was on the phone my dad there was like a minute and a half less I was coming back from lunch with my family yeah you're watching the game there but then he's just like He's like, down by a down by seven, a little bit of the left. And then I got to my place and they tied it. I was like, all right.
Starting point is 00:01:47 And then they missed that field goal. I'm like, perfect. That was happening the entire game anyway. But and then they tied it. It's like, okay, tied. Yeah. But then you can't feel as bad as the Eagles did with that loss to Jackson. Oh, that's rough.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Like, you know what's crazy? Nobody won their games in the division. Like, nobody won. And all of us. Tied or lost. I'll take the tie over the loss. I guess so. Yeah, you're still in first place. For sure. Yeah, and listen, we'll talk about box office.
Starting point is 00:02:17 We'll talk about Godzilla. We'll talk about all that stuff. Because I had, I don't know if there's anything that beats New York City weather in like September, October, man. I was walking around the, like I was, I had gotten off. I had seen Godzilla and then I wanted to go pick up. A friend of mine left me some passes for Comic Con. So I went by where he lived. Oh, nice. And I'm walking around this.
Starting point is 00:02:40 There was walking past Central Park. And it was just so beautiful out there as I'm walking around. And I was like, I had to have rushed back in order to get back to do the show. And I'm like, you know, I think I'm going to take the day off today. And I did. I walked in. I still got back to do some stuff that I need to do with the studio. But I didn't rush back to do it.
Starting point is 00:03:00 And I had thought, and I put out of the theater for Godzilla up. And people really want to see this movie. I was talking about it. I just never know which out of the theaters are going to be the ones that people watch. Oh, yeah. And the out of the theater that before yesterday, the most watched out of the theater reaction ever was disclosure to it. Yeah, yeah. At 195 and I had never had anything hit.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Right now, Godzilla's over like 2.30 right now. That's amazing. And it's only been Friday. And I think it's more of it testing because people just want to know about this movie. And I got a chance to see it early, obviously, too. So that obviously helped. But dude, this movie is. It's awesome, dude.
Starting point is 00:03:40 It's awesome. You love the first one, right? I love the first. I have it in 4K. I love the movie so much. I bought it immediately. It's so good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:47 People ask me, and they're going to ask you when you see it, do you like it better than minus one? My answer is no. It doesn't mean that it's not a good movie. It's great. Right, right. I just happened to let my minus one was so special because I was expecting nothing from that movie.
Starting point is 00:04:01 I was expecting, you know, a fun. People got mad at me when I said this. I was like, you know, a lot of times you see the formula of a Godzilla movie. doesn't mean that it's bad. It just means you know the formula, right? And they usually always focus in on the monsters, and they try to give you a human story in some of the studio ones, and you never care.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It happens to be a really great movie that happens to have monsters in it. Yes, I mean. Right. It's a human story about what he's going through with the woman he ends up, you know, being with what she's going through
Starting point is 00:04:35 and the ramifications of World War II and putting your life. Life back together. All of that is throughout this whole movie. And it happens to have a kaiju in it. You're so right. Yeah. And they do the same with this one, right?
Starting point is 00:04:46 You care about the characters. And it's such a, see, Sam writing this too. And I agree. It's a very well-made film, right? It's just, it's a little more epic in scale. I mean, not that the first one wasn't, but it just,
Starting point is 00:04:59 there's a little bit, because there's, I don't know in the trailer what's really, I didn't watch any trailers going into this, by the way. So I don't know what they show. You've seen the trailer. What do they show? They hint at other kaiju's.
Starting point is 00:05:12 They don't say which the other kaijus. Some people have speculated from the sounds who they might be, but they don't say who it is. Okay, good, good, because that's good to know because I don't want to spoil anything, right? So what I can say is that the way that they set these things up and whether there's new characters, the older characters that we were already with, there's emotional moments throughout this thing that you really invest in.
Starting point is 00:05:37 And so when shit goes down, it means something, right? And it's like placed in this World War II era or post-World War II era that's just so it, it just, it resonates. And it just, it hits you in a way where you just believe it because they take these things that have happened to these people. And they don't just kind of repeat the beats. Right. In the first one, because you know people are going through a lot of the trauma that went through plus that fact that they did with Godzilla. That's there. But now there's new shit they got to worry about.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Right, right. And you got to throw more shit out of me. Yeah, exactly. And I, I 100% with no apologies tiered up at the end. Wow. Absolutely. And that really goes to my question to you because I know you haven't seen it yet. No.
Starting point is 00:06:26 But even if you see this movie and you think it's amazing, is there a world where the Academy Awards would actually nominate this movie? and I'm going to give you, I'm going to leave you a harder question because I know your answer. Your answer is, for foreign film, sure, we're taking that out of the question. Okay. Because I will tell you this.
Starting point is 00:06:45 I believe it will be nominated for Best Foreign Film. For Best Foreign Film, okay. And you know that depends on if they want to submit it to represent that country. Right. They may not want to even submit it. The Academy can't go out and do independent,
Starting point is 00:06:59 go like, we're going to nominate this film whether you like it or not. It has to be submitted by the whole country. I think that they'll wonder if it will be. I think that they will. I think that they're, it says Japan has already submitted all of,
Starting point is 00:07:11 all of a sudden. Yeah. So I guess not. So really, okay. So the answer is, so it won't then. I was wrong on that.
Starting point is 00:07:18 I got, I got proven wrong within, within five seconds of saying it. So then it makes it a harder question, right? Will this movie be nominated for best picture? Because right now, we know Odyssey is getting nominated. Yes.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Yes. Yes. Project Hail Mary. will probably get nominated. Yes. Yeah. And then you just said you saw the one with John Malcovic? I did. While Horse 9. Absolutely. And is that one you're nominated? I think so. Yeah. I think they'll get nominated.
Starting point is 00:07:46 So those are three that I think are right off the bat. Right. June 3, I think, is a shoe in. There's no fucking AI. It's touched up. Shush. Shush. Hi, the AI thumb now. Get the fuck out her! The fuck out! It's fucking touched up. Luke's sick. He touched it up.
Starting point is 00:08:05 The fuck out of here. You got him. Get out of here. Fucking tired of it. Beat it. Stop, stop responding to it. No,
Starting point is 00:08:13 just right now. I'm going to do your business. I'm in a shit mood yesterday. I'm in a shit mood today. Sorry. The fuck out of here. Then go somewhere else. Fucking police.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Beat it. Beat it. All right. Anyway. Beat it, kid. Fucking tired. The Odyssey,
Starting point is 00:08:30 La Bola Negra. Project Tiel Mary. Dune part three. Digger, I don't think he's going to nominate, even though I think it should. Fjord, the invite, and the debut. These are the ones that they're kicking around. But we've seen the Academy do play around in the world of populist films. And it would be something interesting to see them move into a situation
Starting point is 00:08:51 where they're actually nominating populist films from other countries. That could be the next step. So I haven't seen the movie. But if the movie is that exceptional, then why not? and I think they're releasing it later in the year to get legitimate consideration for awards. So I think they understand what they're doing with this movie and it's in its potential.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I think so. I think so. I mean, look, it's built. Minus the monster aspect of it. Yeah. It's built like an academy. Yeah, yeah. It is. And so, oh yeah, someone said, Primetime. I don't think Prime Time is getting the greatest reviews.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Nah, Primetime will get nominated for us. I think maybe Patent's a bracket. but not best picture. Yeah, Primes is one of those movies that everyone said, oh, it's an Oscar and people, no, not really. What about, I play Rocky? I play Rocky. I'm seeing that, I think,
Starting point is 00:09:42 in the next couple of weeks. I'm seeing another 20th. You see another 20th as well? I don't know. I don't know. There were like a bunch of different screenings, and it was funny because I think, I think, I don't know yet,
Starting point is 00:09:52 but I think it might have been at the same time as Clayface, but I'm like, I have to see to play Rocky. I have to. Mine's on the 19th. Okay, Monday at the 19th. Okay. So you'll beat me by a day.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Maybe I'll get some views now. That'd be nice. Okay. No, that you still, you still, even if I put one out there. Stop that. But I, I am, I wonder that it's more people, more people are saying that I play Rocky. He's probably going to get nominated, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Outside of maybe the, the movie itself and so. Yeah, they're bigger. Digger would have no way, Digger gets on. I wish Digger would not. No, jeez. No, jeez. No, I don't think it will. I don't think it will.
Starting point is 00:10:29 No, like if it bounced back this weekend, maybe. but it had a 60% drop. 60% on what it already had. We'll go over that in a little bit. So, yeah, I think, I'm trying to think of the other movies that, some of the ones that are like right now, early, early buzz for best picture. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:54 It was, yeah. The Odyssey, Wild Horse 9th. A lot of small ones. That's one you talked about. Yeah. June part three, forgot about. I said that twice. Okay, you did say that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:04 So interesting. We can actually talk about this now, but the, well, the invite is one I still haven't seen yet. But Raygun is also building some pre-nomination. Raygun on a best picture or best animated? I liked Raygun a lot. I loved it. Right.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I haven't put out my review yet, but I thought it was amazing. And I can't wait to see it again. Yeah. I think it has a real shot for certainly animation. I don't know if we'll cross over into best. picture. What's the last animated movie that got nominated for Best Picture? Oh, that's a great question. I know once upon a time it was the Lion King. Oh, no, Beauty and the Beast, I think it was Beauty and the Beast.
Starting point is 00:11:43 That was, and that's the last one I remember. Yeah. No, I think that might be the only one. Right. I highly doubt Raygun will be nominated. Oh, Up was nominated. Up was. And Toy Story three. Huh. Oh, yeah. Okay. So for best sure. Yeah, for best picture. Okay, good. All right, so Toy Story 3, that deserved it. Yeah, I agree. Toy Story 3 did.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Yeah, yeah. So with even, there's still a lot of spots open. Yeah. That it depends on how this thing does, because I don't even think Godzilla minus one did like gangbusters in the in the box office. Did it? I don't think it did.
Starting point is 00:12:25 I think it was like 200 something on a $10 million dollar budget? Yeah. 10 million? I thought it was a 10 million. Sorry, $80 million. Which was the creator? No, it was, yeah, 10 million budget, $116 million box office. That's what it did. Really? Yeah, it was only 10. We talked about it on the show. It was incredible for only 10. Yeah. Now, what is minus zero budget? Let's say. Probably a bit more since you're going to have more special. 15. It's around 15. Yeah. It is, it's a little tricky though, too, because I think that the budgets count way differently in how they spend money. and from what I remember last times. I remember you and I definitely talking about that. Yeah. Because if you can make a $15 million movie,
Starting point is 00:13:13 looks like that. But it doesn't look fake at all. Right, right, right. At all this. Sometimes you're like, okay, $15 million, $20 million, they don't use. It's like if that guy, if you can get him to make, this gets me making all the Star Wars movies, make all the Star Wars movies.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Yeah, yeah. If you can make them look like that for, for $20 million, but, and, you know, they don't have the, the talent costs. Right. In the way that you have it here and the inflated budgets and things there, a lot more costs in other taxes and things that you're paying here that you're not paying there. So there's ways to maneuver around and make that budget. Because, you know, a lot of times when you see these $180 million budgets, you know,
Starting point is 00:13:53 I don't see that on screen. It's like the other shit that goes with it. Right. The, you know, like you said, the talent cost, the, travel, all this other shit that goes with it. So, yeah, it's a lot. Sure. Yeah. Anyway, so I, so what do you think, Johnny?
Starting point is 00:14:10 I guess it's harder to say because you need to see it first. Yeah. Even if it's great, do you think it's got a shot because if it's a Godzilla movie? I think everything's in play nowadays because it's a much more global marketplace. And the awards have become more global and they want to bring in more people to watch their shows, right? What's a great way to bring in more ratings? Nominate a Godzilla minus zero. You're bringing an international audience even more so to watch the,
Starting point is 00:14:31 Oscar. So I think it's very possible. Okay. But, but, but and also because the Academy is getting younger with its voters, right? So young people aren't as caught up with the whole like this must, this is how an Oscar movie should be. They're much more about like what's the
Starting point is 00:14:47 overall effect of this film and I don't care if it's sci-fi horror, comedy, whatever. If it's great, I want to nominate it. So we'll see. We'll see. Okay. I'm curious what you guys think. Put your thoughts in there. Could Godzilla minus zero get a nomination? And you going to go check it out. Make sure you comment and let us know. All right, we got some other things
Starting point is 00:15:06 to discuss. And before we do, I'll tell you guys about our friends over a cash app. Thank you to our friends over a cash app. The link is in the description. You help out the show tremendously when you go over there and you check it out. Uh, you know, John, we did a, we did a comedy show. I didn't talk about it because I was on. Yeah. It was Friday. It went great, man. It was a really, it was a really good show. It's nice to see Mark was on. So that's why it was funny because we, you know, We do these group texts and let people know for people want to know last week. It was definitely unfair to the rest of the host as Mark Ellis was coming in for the first time. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:40 As a live action guest. And so Mark Ellis won the week. Mark was number one. Number one, number two. Yeah, number one was Mark Ellis. So, and it was great to see him and have him in the room. And me and PLD and Mark walked to, I've talked about it many times over, Tallyo's pizza. It was my favorite pizza place.
Starting point is 00:16:00 And I rave about it, so I had to let them both know about it. So I took them with me and look at their face. All right. Go for it. Boom. I told you. It's like, it's, it's, it's, it's, hang your head in shame with every other slice that you thought was good.
Starting point is 00:16:29 They've all been demoted. It's like, it is, it's, it's the best. Oh. That's good. They go for it. Again. That sauce just explodes in your mouth. It really does.
Starting point is 00:16:57 It's like an orgasm in the mouth. Yeah. Yeah, well, what were you saying? Because I know you had some comments about Pildi while I was muted. I was probably didn't take half the pizza. The thing was, what are the other pieces of crust on the thing? Have they had they had already other pizza? We had one barata slice before.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Ah, okay, okay, okay. There's no meat on the, it's no meat on the piece. No, no, no, you don't go to that place and start with the meat pizza. You start, you start with cheese slice. You start with the, actually, you start with the barata slice. You start with the barada slice. And the barada slice is, I always take, that's the first thing I give to people is the barata slice of some balsamic. And they both, guilty, how good was that was that barata slice?
Starting point is 00:17:39 That was, primo, like, really good. I don't usually like a lot of softened pizza, but, like, usually I got, like, plain, like, otherwise it gets too much. for me but like this was something that was amazing something I've never had before it was about I said I saw so Marisol McKee and and Adam were at the show and the next they said then they asked for good people but I sent them there and they went there and they loved it as well too that's also it was really nice to see everybody there's a lot of people who was getting hang out with Jen who was uh Kyle Lewis was opened up did a great job and then Jen went up and then I went up and and we met
Starting point is 00:18:16 oh it's great a lot of really nice supportive fans out there and talk nice. And it was really nice to see. A lot of people were talking about the project, the Kickstarter, they were, there were Schmodeown fans, there were a bunch of stuff.
Starting point is 00:18:30 And I think that that's the other thing I wanted to bring up to people is that people have been asked because I posted yesterday, we're like, we haven't, we've hit 201 right now, right, where we're at. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:18:41 and I said yesterday, it's like, we're making something. There's no doubt about it. We're making something now. That's the initial goal. But we're in kind of dangerous territory, because it's like I told people when it came to Schmowdown, right?
Starting point is 00:18:51 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I said that I would, if we hit it in day one, that I would do a 16-person tournament. And then because people were getting excited and the fans were getting excited, I was like, you know, I'll do it in seven, right? And in my head, I'm going, okay, well, look, if we do it in seven, then it's going to keep trickling along. And then by the time we get to the end of the goal, then we'll have enough to do both the show. Well, I miscalculated because we just fucking stood still now at 201.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Oh, okay, dude, I got so mad. And this is the thing that I don't do. This is why I don't pay attention to social media. I don't want certain people to watch Schmodeown. And there's certain people like the ungrateful, like fucking like Schmodeon fan. Like I almost said the C word. I'm not going to do some twat. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:19:33 I'll call him a twat. Okay. And he, you know, wrote something on the fucking, because I tell people, like, the way that we have to look at this is we're trying to hit the stretch goal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I, we're going to do it in person to promote down no matter what. I just don't want to do two podiums and like no interviews and that stuff. I want to give it the fucking, you know, the juice.
Starting point is 00:19:50 But if we can't get it to the stretch goal of like between three and three 40, it's something tough to do that because I got to put, I got to do these. There are exclusive shirts now that are available on the Kickstarter. But there are some guys like, well, the reason why it is nobody cares about your show, they care about the Smodown. I don't want you to watch the Shmodon.
Starting point is 00:20:06 You and your fucking threads, I do, that person who comments, I ban them, do not, that show is not for you. If I see your comments, You're already banned from the channel. It is not for you. The Shmodan is for good people. They're for people.
Starting point is 00:20:21 The Shmodan is for real people, real fans. Not sloppy, dirty, disgusting filth fucks. And that's what you are. You're a filth fuck. So I would like to... Wait, wait. All he said was he didn't want to watch your sitcom, but he wanted to watch the Shmodeon. That's not what he said.
Starting point is 00:20:38 That's what you just present. No one wants to watch your fucking stupid show. Oh, that's not. Yeah. Do another Shmodon season. Go fuck yourself. I will never because I this that made me never want to do Shmodown ever again. But then I said, I'm not going to fucking do that for punish everybody else.
Starting point is 00:20:55 There's one fucking twat. So and and it's like so my thing is like this is what people and and this is also me realizing like I was trying to make sure that if we did Shmodown. That's why I said one day. And now it's like, okay, but I already I'm going to do it in person. I just want to make sure that's what people have to understand. I've got to be able to pay for Shmodown and the show now. So priority goes into the show, and then we'll do that, we'll do this one way. And I think that what I potentially could do, which could work, even if we tapped out at 201,
Starting point is 00:21:25 I think that ultimately what I would do is I would get a good place to get the tournament going. And then I just have Mark and whoever run it and I'll run it and I'll stay here and run it virtually. Because travel and all that stuff. I couldn't, I wouldn't be able to do that with this. So that's what I try to explain to people. And it's the, it's the trending side of it first, right? So right, right, right. And we're almost there.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Like we're in a good spot. And we have these shirts now, too, I believe that we'll still, by the time we get to the end of it, we'll be, we'll be in good shape at least too. But we want to make sure we get the good, we get cast. We want to make sure that we get a good director of photography. We want to put all the bells and whistles behind it. And we want to make sure that we can put some juice into the, into the shmode out. So right, totally. I promise the in-person tournament, we're going to get it.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Right. So, but it's just a matter of, like, that's what people. And for the 99% people who are understanding and going like, well, okay, well, how does that work of why you need to do the stretch goals? I hope that's a little bit more upfront as far as like kind of why. Yeah. That makes sense. Yeah. And that's it.
Starting point is 00:22:29 So, but that's where it comes down to because this stuff, it just, there's a lot that goes into it. Yeah. So I'm trying to find. Craig said that he put the ad on shirts on, Brian Ward did exclusive ad on shirts for, um, for the Shmodel. Oh. And I'm trying to see if I can find it here because he said, can you,
Starting point is 00:22:50 PLD, can you text Craig and ask? Because I'm looking for it on the, let's see, I see, where is it? I see him. He's 40-day masterclass is still on there.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Your stories, add-ons. I see the trending shirt, trending. I'm trying to see where it is. I don't see it. But let me see. I'll text him in.
Starting point is 00:23:14 tell them i don't see it either but uh but there's there should be add on shirts on there too hmm okay i i'm not seeing the add-ons for the shirts but i do have the images that i'll show people this is brian ward awesome to have him back too oh brian oh yes it's the best let me let me let me show you this so he he's doing graphics and stuff for you yeah yeah i mean that's that's the thing and and nerd chronics can come back to do some uh promos and other things So, yeah, so let's see. Where is, okay, this is what we have. So check that out.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Oh, okay. It's pretty cool. All right. I like, yeah. Don't call it a comeback. I like that we're back one. That's a good design. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:00 So those are, those are the ones that are, I think, that are available right now. Right. So you can go and you can check that out. I think those are available. So if you go and check that out, this should be. on the Kickstarter. I think that that's why and those are add-ons as well. So anyway, so that's
Starting point is 00:24:20 where we stand and we're going to do, I think the two of the things that I might, that I'm going to do. Yeah. The one thing that I want to do is I'm going to, you're obviously going to do that, that the 10-hour stream to end the campaign. Totally, totally. The other thing that I thought about doing, John, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Yeah. I think it could be like a weekend thing, like maybe on a Saturday. I'm thinking about doing a one, exclusive, one-time only smote out. shaw-shot schmobot show and bringing bad the schmobot for one show and not not peely shaking his head not for the entire not for the entire it would be an exclusive a schmobot show and every schmobot that came in would go directly
Starting point is 00:25:03 into the Kickstarter wow so that would be the idea so it would be like I would just no don't worry it's not people like it's not a schmobot show like like like where it would be in this show. It's like it's specifically designed just for the Schmobot thing and people will have full show. People people lost their minds about that small bot stuff. It was funny. I don't know why in the beginning it was. I lost my mind about it too to be honest. Well, but if we do it a one off. Yeah, one off still be funny. Yeah. And whatever. Yeah. A one off is I would never bring it back full time. But yeah. I thought about it because I used to it was hard for me because you guys would be in the middle of a conversation because I was yeah. By the time we were doing this, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:43 line. You were hosting that show more than I was. That's true. That's true. And I was, I was listening to it in the car going back. And you guys be in the middle of a point and the Schmobot would interrupt it. And I hated it. It's one of the reasons I kind of disbanded it and started big things. I hated it so much. But it paid for everybody on the show, basically. Oh, yeah, yeah. It's right. That's right. So I thought about it. I was like, you know, one, one Schmobot show, like just bringing it back for one, like two or three hour thing.
Starting point is 00:26:11 and then every single Schmobot that comes in, put it towards the Kickstarter, that could be, I agree 100%. It 100% messed up the conversation, but if it's exclusively for, you know, just that,
Starting point is 00:26:25 and it is a full Schmobot show, it could be a fun thing for one show. Yeah, I think so. One thing real quick. Craig says you can't see it unless you pledge. It's the add-ons. You have to pledge first, then you get the add-ons.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Oh, okay. So does that work if you, like let's say you up your pledge by a dollar. Could people then, could people then go and see it? I'll check with that, but you should be able to
Starting point is 00:26:45 because it should open up a new thing. Yeah, because I worry about people who wanted to get the shirt. And then they've already pledged. Does that mean they can't get the shirt? Let's confirm that. I'll check that. Anyway,
Starting point is 00:26:57 let's get into some, let's get into some box office, John. Okay. Because it was a slower week for box office, but still beneficial for some of the studios. You got other mommy. Did you see that movie yet? Other mommy.
Starting point is 00:27:14 No, it got terrible reviews. Why would I waste my 90 minutes in that movie? Well, wait a minute. What if those reviews, if that was the case, you wouldn't have seen any of the other Transformers movie. Well, you know, not everything is a generalization. It was case by case base. If I had an interest in seeing the movie, I would have gone to see it.
Starting point is 00:27:32 The negative reviews made me feel like, I don't need to see it. Well, another one you didn't see was Verity. And that one is now 113 million. I got to see that one. Heart of the Beast. Still hanging on. Look at that. I mean, that's like just, as Ella said, keeps trouggling along, right?
Starting point is 00:27:48 Yeah. 131 for that movie. Pretty good. Resident Evil sticking around 320 so far. That's pretty amazing. That's a big win. That's a big win for that movie. And then Forgotten Island, still disappointing, but sticking around at the top high because
Starting point is 00:28:02 it is literally the only thing for families to watch this week. Yeah, yeah. So if you wanted to go to the movies with your family, that's the one to go and check out. prime time and number six social reckoning eating shit huh such a shame man it's it's not a it's not a great movie it's not a theater movie it's it's not it really isn't because uh what's his face aaron sorkan is just this level above a tv director he's really not a strong feature film director and it show in this this is was it was it was it in limited no wasn't oh dude that that's a bigger bomb than digger no possibly but i mean i think
Starting point is 00:28:39 think digger was more expensive to make okay yeah yeah because that's i mean we'll talk about in a second but then speaking at which digger then gets uh the eight spot now at it's worldwide at 35 it's still pretty bad uh angel and the bad man and then the odyssey the odyssey over spider man that's crazy odyssey right now and number 10 is at almost 1.8 which is yeah and in no world what i ever thought that would have happened uh yeah yeah where is spider man right now spider man stands at 2.5 yeah okay did avengers stick around or oh yeah emberges avengers still what's avengers at currently 137 no it doesn't give you the full right right but 137 for i don't know where it is that yeah for this one is at 137 you need like two so it's far away from
Starting point is 00:29:21 three billion anyway i think look other whatever it was that uh mommy thing whatever that thing is um yeah other mommy yeah other mommy i you know it's how much that movie cost to make probably not much no just yeah chastain ain't demanding too much of a patron no So, I mean, enough she probably is the majority of the cost there. And may make a little bit of a profit on that overall. 18 to 19 was the budget. All right. So if you have an okay second week, then who gives a shit what the critics say?
Starting point is 00:29:53 This is when these are when the movies start to become critic proof. When you had this kind of strategy, I always talk about swim pool, whatever that stupid movie was, right? Swim fan, yeah. No, not swim fan, not swim fan. It was that it was the Blumhouse thing about. Oh, yes. Yes. That movie costs like $4 million to make.
Starting point is 00:30:13 And it made like $30 million, whatever it made. And it made a big profit because. And then critics killed it. And who cares what the critics think? It's if you can, you can't get away with that if you're making $70 million movies. But if you're making $20 million movies and you have a star in it like Chastain, you got a chance to make your money back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:32 What happened? 100%. I think the social reckoning is the biggest story of the week. Yeah. Yeah, it's unfortunate, but I also think that, you know, Mikey Madison, she does a good job. So does Jeremy Allen White in the movie. I thought, you know, and I thought Jeremy Strong was good for what he did for his version of Zuckerberg.
Starting point is 00:30:50 But I just think we're in this place now. We're exhausted by all of it, man. And I just don't think people want to go into a theater with all the madness is going on outside that they're dealing with on social media already and see a film about social media. I just don't think that there's that much interest in it. And in the end, that's what ended up burning. Plus the reviews weren't that strong for it. I think there's a lot to it.
Starting point is 00:31:11 I don't think that you're wrong that that's a part of it. But I think that if you would have gotten Fincher back. No problem. Yes. If you get Fincher back, Eisenberg wasn't necessary, but it would have helped a little bit, right? I think if you had gotten Fincher, you'd have gotten Eisenberg. I think all the things he says about,
Starting point is 00:31:35 oh, I didn't want to. That's all about not wanting to work with. Sorkin as a director. Yeah. And the other side of it is where I do agree with you that I think people are just exhausted by it. And the movie itself is, and I happen to, it's a movie that I would have seen on TV. It's fascinating, right?
Starting point is 00:31:52 Like a really good documentary. Yes. Problem. It played like a documentary. And it doesn't, it didn't play in the same, in like, it really was missing that Fincher magic to take, because you could have, if Finch, I'm sorry, Sorkin directs social network. It's this.
Starting point is 00:32:11 It's this. Yeah. It be directs. Yeah. It's this. It doesn't and it isn't the loved movie because there's a particular style that you needed to have and it just didn't work. Plus the fact it is a, I mean, I have
Starting point is 00:32:25 you guys know you watch my show. I have a pretty strong stance on how I think social media has damaged us as as individuals and our humanity. Right? So it's spoke to me in certain aspects, but then there are. But it also very much takes, and I would say, a
Starting point is 00:32:43 side of the aisle in this particular. Sure. Right. And I think that the problem with that is with it so close to elections right now, the other side of that aisle is going, well, I'm not going to come watch a movie then. And that's, and when you have a, when you have a budget of that scale and trying to do it, you're going to, and if you don't have your side that wants to see it either. Yeah. Then you're going to wind up in, you know, what, what did it make? Six million in opening. I mean, that's true. I think it was domestically. Yeah. It was four million.
Starting point is 00:33:19 That's, that's, that's a, that's a massive, that's a massive bomb. Yeah. Well, depending a much. I mean, I'm looking. I'm looking. Yeah, okay. I mean, I, I think the Eisenberg thing is 30 to 42 million, but still. Yeah. That's, that's a small that that, that does go to my bomb. It's a bomb. It's a, it's a bomb, but it's not a $140 million bomb, 170 million bomb. So I, good on him for only, well, I guess good on the studio for saying, fine, you can direct it, but we're not giving you more than $40 million. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, again, I think the Eisenberg thing is something people can't overlook. Jesse brought a charm and just something interesting that you wanted to watch.
Starting point is 00:34:02 I think Jeremy Strong is a good actor, but I think he's an actor who creates distance. from the audience, which is why he's good in certain roles. And in other roles, people don't want to see him. Whereas Jesse, you can feel sympathy for Jesse. As much as social network, he's essentially kind of an in-selling social network. There's sympathy. You can feel a little sympathy for him because he's kind of an underdog, and he's sticking it to these rich twins.
Starting point is 00:34:25 So there's a sense of like, there's a combination of multiple motivations that would feed the audience. Whereas in this, as you said, it's very much clear that he is the villain. He's a whalen. He's a Wayland villain. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right, right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:41 And everyone else is like trying to kind of stop him, right, so to speak. And then they get to the final part, which the January 6th stuff. And, dude, it falls off of rails at that point. It becomes too melodramatic, two TV movie, and it kills the ending completely. It does. I thought, but I did think that both Jeremy Allen White and Mike and Madison were awesome. Yes, I agree. They're great.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Mike is a great talent, dude. Yeah, she was, I mean, she had to carry the movie and I thought she did. Yeah, I thought she didn't. It's unfortunate that that's like, you know, when you go back and you look at this, it's like it's almost going to play like Caddy Shack 2 to some people, which I don't think that it's fair because of the money. I thought it was, you know, it was like, like you said, it played like a good TV movie. Yep. Yep.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Eventually. Yeah, and then Digger dropping again. I'm curious to see when I, when I go and check that movie out again, how I feel about now that I know everything kind of going on with it, but I don't know. We'll see. Someone was asking me to the day, like my favorite movie so far. Well, Godzilla minus zero is definitely up there now. Wow.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Definitely up there. Godzilla minus zero, Project Hell Mary, Odyssey, Spider-Man. I'm trying to think of the other ones that I really dug this year. I mean, those are the ones a pop in my head. A raygun, Raygun. Yeah, yeah. I think Project is still number one for me, right? Which one, Project, Helmarry?
Starting point is 00:36:05 okay i have no criticisms of that movie almost none i'd like to see it again you know and i still sam hasn't seen it yet and that was the other thing that people um sam was sick all last week man so like where she's oh where's justice league part two your guess is good as mine like i'm trying to figure it out like i still haven't seen the laner's finale i'm waiting for her on that oh god yeah and wait she was sick she was out she didn't even make it to the uh to the comedy show because she's and there are a lot of fans are asking for her and stuff too and um yeah so it was a bummer but I did, you know what?
Starting point is 00:36:36 I did watch with my, I watched with Vivy and Sadie last night was Carrie, the episode one. Do you see it yet? I have not seen it. Both geek buddies are telling me it's a good show. First episode's really good. The kid that plays Carrie is excellent.
Starting point is 00:36:52 And I will also tell you this. And this is going to be like a what? The other day, my wife and Dave were watching the original character. Yeah, yeah. The Cic's basic one, right? I've never seen that movie. I've never seen it.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Because if you and I are playing in a shmowne. Yes. They asked that, yes, but if they were asking us in round one, who played the boyfriend of the popular girl, I would have gotten it wrong. Wow. Yeah, I would have gotten it wrong. I did not know that John Travolta was in this movie until Johnny T.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Until two days ago. And it was before Saturday Night Fever. Yes. Before Greece. And it was probably right during Mystic Katah. Yes, right during the swel. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:38 So I had no clue. And the other thing I didn't know is that Greatest American Hero was in it too. Yes, William Cat. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. He's working on a comic book for Greatest American Hero, by the way.
Starting point is 00:37:51 That's awesome. And I guess that he were promoting it at Comic Con. Which kind of transitions me into this. I took Vivian to her first ever Comic-Con on Saturday. We went to New York County. We were walking around. and and she dressed up
Starting point is 00:38:06 Dangan Rampa, have ever heard of this? It's like a game. I'm sure people in the audience know, and I only know it because my daughter dressed up. And she went and she, she was like a kid in the candy store. She was walking around. I just see another.
Starting point is 00:38:19 And the second we got there, she was a little self-conscious as we were walking. She got to walk from Penn Station to the thing. And I go, honey, there's a lot of people dressed up walking to this. Don't worry about it. She's like,
Starting point is 00:38:29 I just don't know if anybody's going to be dressed this. Self-conscious. Yeah. She's like, I don't know if anybody's going to be dressed like if you're going to know what I am, if they're going to know and I go, trust me, someone's going to know. Within seconds that we walk in this place, the, the rival character is dressed up and they start like playfully arguing with each other
Starting point is 00:38:46 in the thing. And she had this big smile on her face and there was another character event. And she had a great time. So it was really nice to do it. But yeah. The other thing is speaking of greatest American hero. Yeah. I was shocked. I was like, How did no one try to do a remake of this show? And sure as hell, Lord Miller tried to do it. Yeah. Or somebody else to try to do it. And it just hasn't, I guess, no pun intended, gotten off the ground.
Starting point is 00:39:14 But it's, I loved that show so much when I was, like, yeah. I can only imagine how ridiculous it is to go back and watch it now. I've watched episodes. Have you? On, like, Pluto and Cozy TV. They play them occasionally. They're fun nostalgia to go back. Because there was a sweet heart to that show.
Starting point is 00:39:34 There was a very sweet heart to that show. And so it's fun to go back and rewatch it. William Cat and Colp. Bill Colt. And then, yeah, his girlfriend in the show. Great chemistry, all three of them, man. Is it? I can't, let me see.
Starting point is 00:39:51 The greatest American hero. I think she was Mrs. I want to see who is. Robert Wagner, Tom Selika. Oh, was Connie Selika. Conice. Yeah. I don't know how I remember.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Hot take. I don't know. You don't understand. In the 80s, we low-key had some awesome hotties on the TV show. Aaron Gray, Connie Seleka, like,
Starting point is 00:40:10 please, we were eating well. William Beck. William Cat is looking slick these days. Yeah, that's good. He's got the white feathered hair. He's looking good.
Starting point is 00:40:20 I'd love to interview William Cat. 75 years old. It was great. 75. Get him on the show. Yeah, right. He's,
Starting point is 00:40:27 um, and look, it has to be one of the, best theme songs for your, right? Bro, top five, 1980s theme songs. Has to be.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Great American. You immediately you hear it. You're like, boom. I mean. That was what when I, the second I saw him, when my wife was watching Carrie, I said, that's greatest American hero.
Starting point is 00:40:46 She said, what? And I said, believe it or not. And she's like, oh, I love that show. She knew this song immediately. Yes. But to jump into Carrie. Yeah. The, but the actual,
Starting point is 00:40:57 yeah, right, the, there you go. The, it's a fall into carry. the actual show it's it's solid you know Mike Flanagan obviously and because this is what my my daughter was worried about she's like I don't know
Starting point is 00:41:09 if if I'm gonna like this I modernize it and it's gonna be like the cliche kind of version and it's not they really they handle it in a way that with again bringing up social media yeah and and again the girl who plays Carrie is excellent
Starting point is 00:41:25 and they really solid cast Matthew Lillard in this one yeah he's a principal or something that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But I heard it's the most faithful adaptation of Stephen King's book. Well, I think I, well, that's interesting. With some changes. Yeah, because I think that from what Flanagan said is that he tried not to do a faithful adaptation. Oh, you try to maneuver it because there's things that they, even in the way that, I don't want to spoil for people, but the way that they even set up the initial, how they're telling the story. Yeah. They're preparing to tell more stories is what it seems. Oh, well, like spin off into a, into a series. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Wow. Yeah, because it doesn't, yeah, go ahead, Pilate. I don't want to chime in. I'm a big fan of Kerry, and I'm a big fan of Flanagan. He is updated, modernized it with King's blessing.
Starting point is 00:42:10 King absolutely loves it. It is definitely a modern, but the themes are all the same, but it's definitely a lot more to it. And he's definitely setting up some more things, potentially he wants three seasons out of it. Oh, that's what I, that's what, and you can tell.
Starting point is 00:42:23 You can tell immediately. Because there's a lot of Easter eggs in there. I watched the whole thing. There's a lot of Easter eggs in there. I'm not going to any spoilers, but a lot of Easter eggs in there for the, the Dark Tower universe and everything. Did you like, did you like the series?
Starting point is 00:42:33 I love the series. I'm probably the period of the year at this point. Sadie's bailing on it, but I'm going to watch it with my, with, with, a lot of great cast who Lillard's great and a, Katie Sackoffson at the end. Oh, Katie's in it. A couple of days. No, it's not spoiling shit. Oh, no, but she announced that she was in it.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Oh, she was in. I didn't know. So he spoiled it for me. Yeah. So, I mean, I'm, I'm curious, but like I said, I'm going to have to watch it with Vivy, but. Yeah. We shall see. Curious people think, have been watching Karen.
Starting point is 00:43:00 check it out. Put your thoughts in there and let us know. Have you started? Let's put it out. Vision Quest? I'm going to. I'm probably going to have to watch that without Sam because I was going to look for Sam. I can't because I have so much shit to watch with her.
Starting point is 00:43:18 We have to watch. We have to watch Freakin Odyssey when that releases. We have to watch Spider-Man. We have to watch Lanterns. We have to watch Vision Quest. And we're going to watch the X-Men movies. And so I'm going to. I'm going to knock out this.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Then maybe, though, before she sees, because she's going to see Dooms Day later than all of us anyway. She's going to see it probably in January or February. So I have time to maybe then go back and watch it again with her. Right on. Right on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, John, we were talking about reboots. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:48 And we're talking about, you know, things from the 80s. Did you see this picture of Miami Vice? I was sent this this morning by a friend of the hot mic. Okay. All right. So take a look here. And you got the first look at both. Michael B. Jordan, awesome Butler, in Miami Vite's 85, that coat and beard phenomenal on Michael B. Jordan.
Starting point is 00:44:10 Phenomenal. And then this is a good cast for these two characters. Hell yeah. It really is because even the gold watch, they're shimmering there by Butler. Yeah. Gives a good, gives a good crockett, right? Yeah. It's got that slick crockett energy. He does.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Yeah. He does. And I love the idea. First of all, I am now in a place in the same way that I am for Craggers and Eggers, freaking, all these directors now when they put out in a new movie, I'm in there no matter what it is. And Nolan, that's how I'm starting to get with Kaczynski. Because in a different way, right, where those guys that I just mentioned, it's like the altours, this guy's a great director. But it's like old school pop culture. sure what we used to go to movies for in the 90s director, right? Well, he has a gift of appealing to the guys our age, right?
Starting point is 00:45:09 But also the younger generations. And not a lot of directors can walk that line effectively, especially when they're rebooting shit from our childhood, which would be Miami Vice and Top Gun. And so, yeah, I love it. Even the F1 stuff. F1, and right now for me, he's two for two in the last two movies that he did. did a top gun f1 and now this one what what did he do before top of him was it was it
Starting point is 00:45:37 oblivion i didn't love but i haven't i haven't revisited that movie since i saw in the other night did not like that movie and his first foray i think was uh tron right which was oh yeah tron legacy yes fine but he's himself he's developed so much more as a director you can see it you can see it and so now you tell me he's doing miami vice i'm on board the only thing i'm bummed about is that he was supposed to do the David Grush UAP type movie. Oh, right. That's supposed to come out.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Now, I don't know if that's on hold or it's his next project or whatever it is. So that bummed me out. However, this is a good replacement if that's the case because you got two character, one sheets are out with the characters as Tubbs and Crockett, respectively
Starting point is 00:46:21 marking the start of production on the feature film adaptation of the iconic TV series. Zinsey directs a screenplay from Dan Gilroy, set to be inspired by the pilot episode and first seats of the landmark television series which Michael Mann produced and was hugely influential on the TV and cultural landscape. Film will explore the glamour and corruption of the mid-80s.
Starting point is 00:46:39 Miami as it follows two detectives who work under cover. The PAC's supporting cast include John Legeramo, Walt and Gaggins, Alden-Arenreich, Andre Holland, Edie Gathaghe, Danny Ramirez, Whitney Peek, Michael Irby, Camilla Morone, and Andrew Schultz. He's in a lot of roles lately, huh? Schultz? Yeah, Schultz, I guess, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Yeah, the shots come as Michael Mann premiered a new cut of the previous 2006 film adaptation of the property, both the original and the new incarnation landed mixed reviews. And the new one, landed mixed reviews? Yeah, people didn't like the director's cut. Some people cut. Oh, oh, oh, oh, no, no. I was confused, but not this movie. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:47:16 This doesn't screen yet. Okay. The director's cut. Okay. So there's Crock. And I love that they're doing, that's the other thing. I'm so glad they're doing a 1985 version of this. and not another
Starting point is 00:47:28 updated one. Right. Like, second in the 80s is amazing. And then, yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 00:47:36 I'm pumped for this one. Yeah. I'm really excited. I was watching Creed 3 again last night. I was watching, well, I was watching one. I watched one.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Yeah. Yeah. And I was just like, I was like, geez, Michael B. Jordan, man. Such great fucking energy as an actor, dude.
Starting point is 00:47:51 So when I saw the post of this morning, I was like, there you go, man. This dude is just fully embracing his power now as an actor. you're in Hollywood. And it's great to see this kind of stuff, honestly. And Austin looks great as Crockett because that was my issues with the Michael
Starting point is 00:48:05 Man one, although I do defend it. I liked the Michael Man one. It was not a hundred percent. Jamie Fox? Yeah, Colin Farrell, but it was, but they were battling on set and there was egos and they were both trying to be alphas. And it was just a bad time. Like Jamie had his shit going on, calling his shit going on.
Starting point is 00:48:20 This feels like these two dudes understand the status of each of them. And they're going to work together to deliver a great project with Kuzon, Kaczynski. So I'm excited for this. Plus, my brother from Florida State, Andre Holland got cast in this. We acted together. We were on stage together. Andre's great. And so I'm always happy when he gets into bigger and bigger projects.
Starting point is 00:48:39 People get to know his work. This is going to land on my most anticipated list, I think. Yeah, 100%. I don't know if it would have. It wasn't like I needed to see a Miami Vice movie. Right. It's just it just goes to show you as we talk about all the time. It's about
Starting point is 00:48:55 the team and the package. Yeah. Right. It's like, so you tell me, Kaczynski, I'm already going, okay, who's in it? And then you tell him, Michael B. Jordan, Osse Bellar, I'm like, yeah, I'm in. And then you tell me it's in the 80s. And I'm like, now I'm hyped. I'm like, this is the way that you got to do this because it means no cell phones. It means no internet. It means that shit.
Starting point is 00:49:15 They got to, they've got to just do a full on 80s kind of old school detective story. And now it's, it just, and it sets the tone of what the show was. yeah yeah well there'd be a julie roberts cameo considering that she was because she was one of her first roles did you know that or bruce willis i mean he did an episode as well that's right um there's a lot of great ones oh dude the amount of the amount of cameos that were in uh miami vice for unbelievable even talking about the pilot episode they're basing on jimmy smits is the villain in the pilot episode oh he's the drug cartel leader so amazing that i think we like wasamo is playing Yeah, so I'm high for it.
Starting point is 00:49:56 I think it's a good idea to do it this way. I agree. So we'll say it also gets me, when is heat two coming out? Is that next year also? Oh, geez, that's a great question. Have we got Miami Vyte's in heat two in the same year? Have they even started? I think so.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Yeah, they haven't even, the filming is underway. Production is underway. Scheduled film through late 20, yeah, so not until probably late 2027 or 2028. So I mean, we're going to get Miami Vice and Heat 2 in the same year. That would be amazing. It'd be amazing. I mean, my list, my list is going to look pretty predictable. Dude bosses.
Starting point is 00:50:32 I love it. What is it? Dudes. Dude movies. I love it. I need some dude movies. And when I was looking at, um, I was it because I, like I said, I watched, well, Sadie and I are going to watch.
Starting point is 00:50:44 We did fall, the movie fall together on the channel that landed on the channel. And then I really like, so I, I have watched Rocky movies and Sadie had just kind of like, whether she's laying next to me in bed watching it, but not really paying attention or going in and out of the room. She's never really fully invested in any of the movies. And I was like, you know, I play Rocky.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Why don't you just try to actually watch these movies? They're good. And so she's going to watch the Rocky movies with me. Nice. We're going to watch the first one. Well, she's going to come in and record it on Wednesday. So we'll see how we do it.
Starting point is 00:51:17 I think that's everything, man. I think that's everything as far as, there's all the stories. I mean, am I missing something? I don't think so. I got it right. There's something about Ben Affleck, but it's not...
Starting point is 00:51:31 Oh, yeah, no, I mean, well, did you see that movie that he, his movie? I did not. I, again, the reviews, not good. It's on Netflix, right? They're already ridiculing the film online with memes. I saw, I saw the one, I saw, did you see the thing with the kit, with the kid falling into the chair? That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:51:47 It's like Mac and me. It's really bad. It's really, like, I, and I, and I, and I, But what the hell happened? Because he's another guy. His directing skills are pretty great. What the hell happened? I mean, air was incredible.
Starting point is 00:52:02 I loved air. That was only like three or four years ago. So I just, I think he's just stretched too thin, bro. Yeah. I mean, the AI stuff, running that new studio with him and Matt Damon, just there's a lot.
Starting point is 00:52:13 And he was supposed to do this with Matt Damon. Damon was supposed to be the lead of this one, not him. And he was trying to get Jennifer Gardner. I know. I know. I know, not Gary Washington. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Okay. So, but I think in the end, And it's essentially a remake of what we already saw with highest to lowest. It's a remake of high and low, the Kurosawa film. So people have already seen that. So it's just like it's just a lot of negative things against that. And then in the end, it didn't turn out to be. It seems like it didn't turn out to be a good movie.
Starting point is 00:52:38 So it's shame. Yeah, man, that's a bummer because I like his directing stuff. I do too. Gone Baby Gone and the Town are just still. People have Argo the most too. But I like those two. To me, it's gone baby gone is super underrated. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:52 super underrated. You know, people, the way people talk about heat, I talk about the town. The way people talk about heat. Okay. Town is untouched. It sounds great. Sounds great. It just watched that with Ming on the channel.
Starting point is 00:53:02 Like, I don't, five, six months ago, but we, yeah. We really, I mean, it's a, it's really solid movie. That one, gone, gone, Argo, Air. And now he's had, it looks like two stinkers, right? He had that, it was, it was, he was having, he was having personal issues when he, when he did. What was that, what was that movie called? The one that he did of the, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, period piece about that was oh they live by night yeah that was not good live by night that was not good
Starting point is 00:53:27 um and then this one apparently is not good so and he said look god bless him he's out there promoting the shit out of it right so he was everywhere he's got it so um i always root for those guys i saw some of the clips for like um goodwill hunting and yeah and i was like that's another one i'm trying to watch i'm watching a lot of these movies as i'm getting ready to do this pilot that the inspiring stories. And that's that and the Rocky thing are the just two ones that just get me. I think if he was just a director, he'd be much more successful. Because if you look at, I mean, like, lived by 90s, 2016, he doesn't do another film until
Starting point is 00:54:04 20s, 23, which is air. Seven years later. So there's, and then animals is three, like, there's too much gap. Well, well, hold on. The only difference, though, the reason why, because you, I think it, you look at air was what, 2022, 23? 2023, yeah, 20203. That's only a, there's only three-year gap, right?
Starting point is 00:54:22 The other gap between he was having a lot of personal issues during that time. That's why he did that movie with Gavin O'Connor and everything too. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, right, way back. Yeah, which is another good movie, but he did that. That is a damn good movie.
Starting point is 00:54:37 It's a good movie. He's an underrated director, by the way. 100%. He is an underused director. I love, that dude and he's and he's just a really solid guy too uh anyway well did you guys see that movie did you check it out you're gonna check it out put your thoughts in there let us know make sure you click like comment subscribe if you haven't already i'm asking everybody man we're we're about 10 days
Starting point is 00:55:02 away 11 from the end of the campaign if you have not backed it today please do it in the way that also obviously for if you're smowdown person you want to make sure you back the Shmoto and get us to the best Shmodeon that we can get. But if you have been listening to what I'm talking about with the show, is that we want to really show up when we do this show. Right. We want to really, and what I mean by that is so to say to when we finish this product, to take it and say, look at who we got in this role. Look at who we got in this role. Look at what we were able to do in this location. So if you're able to do it right now, and as I said, I still think we're about like 5,600 people away putting in 25 bucks. and then we get the show. Then you know,
Starting point is 00:55:47 they hear me hear about this fucking, we talk about this fucking thing anymore. Shut the fuck up. So, Pildee will put that link in the description again, or in the comments, rather. So if you can and you haven't already, make sure that you back it today.
Starting point is 00:56:03 And let's make a good show. I also wanted to say that Craig got back to me. He said that all you have to do is manage your pledge. You should be able to open up. Oh, so you don't have to raise it if you don't want to you. If you just manage a pledge, you can add on. Okay, well, there you go.
Starting point is 00:56:14 So you don't even have to add anything. So thank you. So if you guys want one of these shirts, you can do it right now. Even if you've backed the project already, just go to adjust your pledge and you'll be able to find these shirts. You don't have to actually adjust your pledge plus this, but then you have to get the add-on for it. So you can, if you want the Schmowdown shirt, that's how you get it. So maybe that dickbag on wheels at comment that you can get this shirt, shut the fuck up. Jesus Christ. This guy was such a, it's such a turd.
Starting point is 00:56:43 I hate people who shit on people's like, you know, on, but there's one thing, but there's one thing with John, if the guy would have said like what you said, right? The guy would have said, right, right, right, right. The guy would have said, look, man, and people have said this. One guy said, look, he wrote a really nice message on Instagram. And he said, I'm not necessarily, I was never a big schmowdown guy, and I don't necessarily really know much about the show, but I really wish you luck and everything that you do in. And I appreciate it and good luck.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Yeah, of course. What a classy gentleman. In the, or the same way. I don't really care about the schmownown. I never did. I'm more interested in seeing what you're going to do with, with the comedy. So I don't really care about the schmowdown. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Or vice versa. Yeah. I was always a shmow down person, but I'm supporting it because I want to see it back. And I really, you know, and the pilot not as much for me, but good luck. All three of those, great. And you're, and that's, and that's, you just being honest. And that's what when you said, well, that's all the guy said, it's not. You know, like if you would have said that, okay.
Starting point is 00:57:45 That's, that's, that's, that's fear. But, but anyway, people just, when, that's why I hate, that's the thing I hate about social media in general. Fair point. But I mean, I don't know, maybe it's a different experience now. After, you know, certain, certain data centers were blown up last night. It seems like social media is a little more relaxed today. I don't know if you notice, it's way less toxic. So maybe this is going to be a thing.
Starting point is 00:58:08 This would be good thing. What happened? Last night, Zelensky. over there in Ukraine bomb, or no, two nights ago, bombed a bunch of the Russian super bot data centers. And all of a sudden, Twitter is like free of all the Russian bots and stuff. And it's like
Starting point is 00:58:22 a way more smoother experience. There's not as much toxicism. I'm telling you, I'm telling you go take a look. There's not a lot of negative comments on stuff. It's amazing. Well, then why don't we do that? 10 to fucking five months ago. Because people were invested in profiting from it. You know why? Because they push certain
Starting point is 00:58:37 disinformation that helps certain people, you know. Like Elon. Speaking of which, that, you know, that, that documentary is now on the CCA app. Musk, yes. I'm going to, it's four hours. I know. I'm going to sit down and watch it, I think, on Wednesday. I was trying to watch that last night,
Starting point is 00:58:53 but then my family wanted to watch Carrie. So I was like, okay. But like immediately, like, Vivian, we got to watch a four hour documentary. Let's watch a four hour documentary. But immediately, though, like, this is why I said they talked to you about, you've heard, we've talked about the simulation theory and like
Starting point is 00:59:09 consciousness and things of that nature. It's, brought up immediately in that. I started, I was like, okay, I started watching it. But is that true? All the bots are actually gone? Is that really true? Yes, bro. Yes. I got to do some research on this. This sounds like someone said, this is like if someone said to me, hey, you could have pizza for the rest of your life and never get fat, never have high cholesterol. That's what it feels like you're saying to me. Okay. Take a look. They've got footage of the bombing there and everything out of the video out on social media and everything. And People have put out statistics already monitoring what the numbers are and how much it's gone down in all these different areas. All right.
Starting point is 00:59:49 All right. It's interesting. Take a look. I'll take a look. Anyway, John, before we get into the questions, because we have 30 so far, we've got to see if you can take the week this week. Everybody's back this week. Chris Carr is back. Winston's back.
Starting point is 01:00:03 Smetzy's back. Roxy and Mike all by. The whole cruise back, so it's a whole competing week. See if you can win it this week before we do it. What's going on? on this week on your... Yeah, my channel, the John Roker channel. A lot of stuff going on here. Today we've got
Starting point is 01:00:16 an episode of The GeekBuddy's dropping a little bit later on today around three, I think, and then tomorrow spilled a tequila. I've also got movies this week that I'll be going to see including that documentary about Elizabeth Holmes. I'm seeing that tomorrow night or two nights for now. And then I've got another movie Tomorrow Night
Starting point is 01:00:33 Inc. the Danny Boyle one. I'm trying to get whale fall screening, but if not, I'll go see it this weekend. But yeah, a lot of stuff happening along with the hot mic, as well, Jeff and I will be on Friday this week again at 5 p.m. PT because of scheduling issues. So a lot going on, GeekBuddies. And we got one, Wanda, or Vision Quest coming. So we'll definitely review that and geek games later on this week as well. So there you go. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Yeah. When does that drop again? They moved it up, right? The 14th, I think. Two days from now. Two days from now. All right. So are they dropping it episode by episode or is it all, is it dumped, you know? I do not know if they're dropping it. Disney Plus usually does week to week. I think it's the first two episodes. and then week by week. Okay. Because I'd like to,
Starting point is 01:01:13 I'd like to be able to put those out week to week if possible. But we'll say, apparently it's kind of tomorrow. So tomorrow at 8, they moved it up. Oh, no, tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:01:22 Wow, that's what I said. That's what I said. So as far screenings for me, I will be seeing well fall tomorrow. Nice. I'm going to check that tomorrow night. And then Wednesday I see Street Fighter.
Starting point is 01:01:33 Those are my screenings this week. Oh, I got nothing this one. Nothing for those two. Nothing for, I would, I just check them up those. they're sending less and less
Starting point is 01:01:41 and less earnings aren't in San Diego, man. I got to start driving up to L.A. That sucks. At least you're not, poor Dan who's got to drive like 10 hours back and forth to Dallas. Sucks. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:52 I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't do it. I mean, it's a social why he's as good as he is because like, there's no world that I do that. There's nowhere. Like, it's like,
Starting point is 01:02:00 well, you can go, you know, this is, this is the big movie. If I knew, even if I knew Godzilla was going to get the $220, 30,000,
Starting point is 01:02:07 I mean, I ain't driving it. I'm not doing it. Dan's the man. I know. It's amazing. All right, let's start out there for Vision Quest two per week for the first three weeks. And then seven and eight are going to be separate at that.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Oh, okay. All right, all right. Thanks. Peely, can you just confirm? Well, you know, I'll have to look at this myself. I want to see if Nathan Drake is for it. Because apparently when Roxy and Mike Ron, they missed a few. Oh, the pre that came in.
Starting point is 01:02:34 So I want to double check. And let me see. Hold on this. Yeah, I heard that too. I couldn't check them because of the. Yeah, I'll check. I'm going to check right now. I'm going to make sure that there's anything that came in earlier.
Starting point is 01:02:42 I want to see if Nathan's is the first one. I don't want to, if it's not, I don't want to miss anybody's. So let me. Somebody's like Campia doesn't do any screens. Campia has 300,000 subscribers, bro. It's a way to say, experience.
Starting point is 01:02:54 What did he has? What did he has? He doesn't. He can't be it doesn't do any screenings and he has no issues. Of course. Well, he doesn't, but that's not.
Starting point is 01:02:59 I wouldn't go to screenings either. I just wait for movies. Well, I mean, but that's not necessarily the thing is. But that's, that's not his, that's not what he does. his his his he does out of theater reactions it does it does but his brand but is that is that what you're saying that you're saying that the out of the theaters do less that's what the people saying he doesn't he does screenings oh yeah I mean he doesn't about better is just well to be to be fair to him also and this is why this is one of the things like right now I think that
Starting point is 01:03:26 when people think out of the theater reactions for certain channels yeah yeah well when it comes to reactions in general right reactions first right when you when the real rejects put about a reaction. It's going up in front of everybody because they've been doing it for so long. They had a lot of subscribers. The algorithm knows that they've been doing it for a while. So they get pushed forward. That's how it works. Yes, they do.
Starting point is 01:03:47 They do. I have the luxury of being doing the out of the theater reactions for a while now that when I do them, even if I do them a couple days after John or something, too, they'll get pushed up into the algorithm. Right. Campia was doing them before me.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Yeah, yes, he was. Camp is the one that kind of set the yeah yeah he was doing it before me so campia when he does his and because he's got a loyal following and a scrub that they it pushes them up even he goes and sees on like a Friday night so you're not wrong to say it doesn't affect them but it's a different scenario between him and and roca because yeah roca's fighting a little bit more of of a fight there yeah than a smaller market in that battle and and also the other side of it with is with Dan is like, well, Dan doesn't do those that often either, right? He doesn't really do out of the theater reaction.
Starting point is 01:04:39 You've pivoted to reactions, right? Dan doesn't do reactions to TV shows and movies. Like, he doesn't do. That's not his brand. No, no, no. And it's where I do reviews. Exactly. Occasionally.
Starting point is 01:04:50 It's easier for you to maybe not being invited to stuff. Right. I do it. Like, I have theater is what I do. And I'll do, like, I'll do a review for, I'm going to review for Reagan. I'll do a review for Godzilla. I'll do, there's ones that I'll do reviews and out of the theaters, but there's something like just do that.
Starting point is 01:05:04 theater for. Yeah. Yeah. Gitto. Did it. Okay. Let's see. So let me go and, you know, the first one, you're sorry. And I want to make sure it's Nathan. I'm going to confirm that. Give me a second. It was. Help me win, folks. I haven't won in weeks. Chris has been winning like crazy. Yeah. Nathan Drake, do you think if Eisenberg and Fenture had returned, would social
Starting point is 01:05:26 reckoning have done better or is it there no interest in that story? It would have 100% done better. Yep. 100%. Because it's, it wouldn't have played like a talky TV. movie. It was a very well written. It's Sorkin. It was a very well written. But the other thing that I was, everyone always says about Sorkin, every one of his characters, no matter who it is, if it's, if it's, if it's just some guys tying his sneakers is the smartest person in the world. Everybody is smart. I'm like, have you not gone outside? A lot of people are stupid. Right. And it's like there's not a lot of there's not a lot like everybody's smart. And it, it doesn't make it,
Starting point is 01:06:01 it makes it like, oh, that's just a really smart guy. everyone's smart. It doesn't work that way. And I think Fincher brings him down a peg a little bit, too, you know, and shows and his style and it makes it interesting. And instead of just two people talking, he'll cut to somebody, he'll give you a thing. The music was missing too. The music was so in that first one. So, no, I think the story could have been interesting. I think it was the direction. They shouldn't have had Swarkin direct this. Yeah. Fuzzy Bowles part two. How are you? Roka, how long do you think before Quinn gets fired off that shit, horrible clock management? God, I had a fired him this morning.
Starting point is 01:06:35 I tweeted this out a few times. I tweeted out to Magic Johnson. I said, magic for the love of God. Tell Josh Harris to work out whatever their deal they need to work out and get Tomlin away from NBC and make him our coach tomorrow. Build him a Minecraft city in D.C. for God's sakes, anything to get Tomlin to be our coach. Dan Quinn is a waste and the players aren't playing for him. He's a waste, you know. Christian unpronounceable.
Starting point is 01:06:58 We hit 420 in the Discord this weekend, but now we're 421. That's awesome. There you go. Perfect. And look, guys, still, same thing. Discord. I need your help there. Make sure if everybody, you know, if you haven't checked out. And I guess, Ed, if you're at there, let people know about this design from the Shmodown group, please. Let me go back up there and show everybody. Again, this design is available for people. Wow. They want it. So you go and check that out. Ed, let people know about it. And for Discord people, let people know about it.
Starting point is 01:07:29 All right. Next one. I should jump into your Discord and do a Q&A. She should. She should, yeah. Bring it, motherfuckers. I love how it becomes aggressive for no reason. Tim Sim, dropping by as I'm busy. What's up, Tim? We'll chat back and hope everyone's well.
Starting point is 01:07:44 Wonder if you two can make the case for Digger, not being a cult classic decades from now if we're all still alive then. You know, the confirmed box office failure. No, you know, the thing is, Cold Classic, and this is what I said about, and I stand by this. Okay.
Starting point is 01:07:59 The thing is, this movie is made. for film fans, people who love films. And for people who love films, maybe. And people who love, and I don't mean movies, there's a difference. And people who just like, I love watching movies. Yeah, but then, but John Roka loves to watch films. I do a podcast about it. He's a, he's a film fan.
Starting point is 01:08:22 This is Taylor made for him, this movie. The casual movie goer will never respond to this movie. It's just not made for it. it's just not made for them. It is made for the people who love the cinema. And that's not a bad thing. And well, I guess it is Warner Brothers is $170 million. But as far as it being a cult classic, no, this will not be a cult classic.
Starting point is 01:08:45 It'll be appreciated by film people, maybe people who didn't appreciate it the first time and went back. Like myself, I might appreciate this movie more going back and watch it because now I know a little bit more. I like it when I, almost because when I was leaving the theater, I said, oh, I liked it. Now it's over. the end of it. I hate the majority of the movie. And now I finally start to like it. Now it's over. So maybe knowing more about it going back the second time, but my dad, my dad's never going to watch this movie, nor care about this movie. If he saw it, but not a shit movie that was. And that's going to be a lot. No, this will not be a cult classic.
Starting point is 01:09:17 So here's my case. I agree with Christian. There won't be a Cole Classic, but not for the reasons Christian's saying. I think it's going to be a re-appreciated masterpiece years down the road. I think it's going to be like... By regular film? Everybody's irrelevant. It's about... It's like out of sight. And these great films
Starting point is 01:09:36 that didn't do well at the box office, but find an audience. Blade Runner, Mr. Smith... Shawshank. Shawshank. It's a wonderful life. Shawshank.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Shawshank made like 10 million in the box office. So I think it's going to be one of those films that becomes a film that people re-appreciate and do large treatises on and talk about why it failed. And it will find new life. And it'll screen at film festivals, Tom Cruise will and Adito
Starting point is 01:09:59 will talk about it. I'm telling you, they'll get Del Toro to come and talk about it. It's going to be a big deal later on, but not cult classic because that implies something else. But I think it'll be a re-appreciated as a masterpiece. But you pretty much are saying the same thing. I'm saying the same thing. I'm saying
Starting point is 01:10:15 by people who just love watching films, people who are going to go back and watch this, like there's a lot of people who say that already. People don't understand this movie. They don't appreciate it. It's just not going to hit that status of the regular person. Oh, no, no. Right, because it's like,
Starting point is 01:10:30 because there are movies like, like Shawshank. Shoshang, nobody saw it in the theater. No. But then the regular person who saw it on TBS because Ted Turner just kept playing it all the time. That's a great movie because they were forced to watch it. And they were like, oh, that's a great movie. And it stuck with them.
Starting point is 01:10:46 And it resonated to everybody. This is just aimed at people who love the art of film. That's what it says. Lewis Luis Fonseca, excuse me how important is it for Marvel to get Doom right? Very. Very. It is
Starting point is 01:11:04 it is the it is it all it all if do it's like Yoda not working in an empire. Yeah. Does not work from the second he shows up and people don't buy it. People aren't getting the accent. It's over. But I don't think that that's going to happen.
Starting point is 01:11:19 I think that the already that the the um the even even the Werner Horsock voice that he's doing already is creeping me out. Cam here, Thua. Yeah. This is going to be, dude, we're only a month and a half away from, like, possibly getting screenings for this thing. I know.
Starting point is 01:11:36 I know. It's kind of crazy. Yeah. It's right there. It has to work. Dune. I mean, look, so that's the other thing. I was looking at this yesterday.
Starting point is 01:11:43 Yeah. And it's probably some other ends. And these are ones that you can fill me in on in case I don't, I'm not as familiar with them. But this is what we have coming out. If we go from right now. it's the 12th. So if you start from the 16th, and, and people can tell me, because there's, there's movies that I choose to go and see for the out of the theaters and others that I'm going to see, they're going to watch on reactions or I'll watch for myself, right?
Starting point is 01:12:06 So I thought both Whale Fall and Street Fighter are both good for people who want to see the out of the theater reactions to see kind of in general. Um, sense and sensibility. Yeah. I'm, I'm saying it's coming out. I'm not saying, it's coming out. I don't know that's on. Right. And then October 23rd, Allie G, I might. go check out, as well as Clayface. Clara and the sun I want to see, but that one, I don't know if I'm going to go see in the theater. Right. You can see everything is, which one is that?
Starting point is 01:12:35 That's the Elizabeth Holmes documentary from Nathan Field. That's the one. Okay. That might be one that I go and check out as well. October 30th, I don't know what any of these movies are. Christmas, the cringles, the mongoose, only living pickpocket in New York. That's good. I saw that already.
Starting point is 01:12:51 You did? Who's in that? Yeah, yeah. Torturo. And Giancarlo Esposito. A lot of people say, and he could get nominated for that. I don't know if I see that, but I think it's a really good film. Good New York film.
Starting point is 01:13:02 That's the one I'll probably catch up on the app when it's out. November 6 is Dr. Seuss, Cat in a Hat. I'll go check that out and see Godzilla Minas Zero. This is one of, you talk about bots. I think that my, I think my Godzilla minus zero out of the theater was plagued with bots for Ramayana, part one. It's a new kid. Oh, people wanting you to see that? I think that there was like a campaign.
Starting point is 01:13:24 from that movie that just happened to jump into my campaign every other comment is about ramiyan apart i never heard about it until they so they did the job i guess but it's like it it looks cool i mean that's cinema call yeah okay it looks cool so that one i might actually because that's where that might actually work uh november seventh is re-release of rocky yes which is very smart for them to do november thirteenth is ebeneezer christmas carroll um november 20th is hunger games yeah i play rocky now the other two that I'm not as familiar with November 1963 that is that who who's in that one I don't know that one that I've seen
Starting point is 01:14:03 the cast and crew who's oh it's Travolta oh Walter and German Moroni and Robert Kyle Lyle too okay so it's obviously a Kennedy one and then paper tiger yeah that Adam driver Scarlet one I might check out number 25th is Fokker-in-law and Hext
Starting point is 01:14:23 So there's quite a lot of stuff from just those two months. And then December, Cliff Booth is on 25th as well, November 25th. Yes, it is. Brad Pitt was. Yes, it is. That's another good one there too. December, December 4th is Violent Night 2. I should probably have said first one.
Starting point is 01:14:43 December 11th is Elsinor. What's that? Oh, Elsonor. That's the Andrew Scott one that a lot of people that used to be nominated. Oh, that's what people say in him. Okay. Okay. So that's one I'll probably check out.
Starting point is 01:14:55 And then December 18th is Dune and Avengers. I can't believe that's happening. I can't believe. Yeah. And then December 25th. No. December 25th. Um, Jumangi.
Starting point is 01:15:06 Yeah. Mr. Relevant and Werewolf. So. Yeah. That's a hell of a close. Dude. We got a lot coming.
Starting point is 01:15:14 A lot going on. Yeah. So, um, all right. Next one. Mike, Mike Joyce, support for Rokin having to deal with Jeff. Stop that.
Starting point is 01:15:21 Tim Sim. Also, with the acclaim praise for Godzilla minus zero, I feel that this is no doubt the must see film of the fall season before June's Day and June Part 3 will have to be their opening weekend IMAX. That was my one regret, Tim, as I didn't get a chance to see it. And it was like, I think it was fake Imax, whatever. I saw it at the Empire AMC and Times Square. And a great, great screen that I saw it on just wasn't the full IMAX. The Lincoln Square one is the best of that IMAX. Um, nice. So I, that was the one regret that I didn't have seeing it. But I'm going to go and see that because I did see the first one with Vivy and I'll probably take her to see the second one again. So I might go see it in IMAX over here. Uh, Alexander, Alexander Wilson. I saw some reviewers that saw artificial last week with Andrew Garfield and they said it's going to be the best picture and actor.
Starting point is 01:16:11 They said it's amazing. So when is that movie coming out? I didn't see that in the, in the, where's artificial? Oh, there it is, December 25th. Yeah. December 25th. That comes out on Christmas. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:22 Okay. I mean, Luca, two Luca movies back to back, 26, 25, 26. So maybe you can get a little redemption from after the hunt this year with Artificial.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah, yeah. So, I mean, you and I, I think the only two people who actually like that movie. So artificial, coming out with him,
Starting point is 01:16:43 this is kind of like his social network, Andrew. Yeah, kind of. Yeah. A lot of people are saying, that you know yeah and they tried to bury like they tried to claim it wasn't good well Amazon tried to because they signed the deal
Starting point is 01:16:55 with yeah they saw that they signed to do with chat GPT so of course they don't they don't want to shit where they eat he's fucking tech bros man yeah yeah yeah so yeah I want to say that one time I hope so Andrew Garfield's one of my favorite actors working today agree I love Andrew Garfield I think he's
Starting point is 01:17:13 he's one of those guys when he shows up I'm like oh that's cool that's gonna make this movie a little more enjoyable for me in general I like I like that was one of the things for After the Hunt, as much as I did enjoy it, I think that one of the things that hurt that movie, he wasn't in it enough. Yeah, I agree. He disappears for like 40, 50 minutes of the movie, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:30 Okay, Greeny from us. Priority should be trending show over tournament. Rooka going to win it all anyway. I mean, that's the whole point, Greeny, is that the priority is the trending show. Yeah, 100%. And then that's why I told people the same thing, too, because I'll get the inevitable questions.
Starting point is 01:17:47 Where's this monod? He said you're going to do it. right and it's like I am after the show so we're probably aiming between the April to June but what I would tell Schmowdown fans if they really want to you know see it don't pull back on your pledge increase your pledge because the point is I got to try to get you know because whether and because I know what's going to happen too yeah I'm going to have certain competitors that are flying out of town going hey can you pay for a flight I'm going to go I can't you can't pay for people's flights right now I can say if you can make it to L.A. you're in and if not then I'll have to replace them with somebody else like that's that's the thing that goes
Starting point is 01:18:19 into it's a production. This is a television production. You know, so. Yeah. So, yeah, but, and that's the thing is it all goes into trending first and then, then Shmota. Fuzzy bubbles. Christian, I'm trying hard to double my Kickstarter pledge. It's not much.
Starting point is 01:18:33 It's only 50 is trying to get time. That, that is a lot. Puzzle bubbles and more and so thankful. So thankful. Thank you very much. Queenie from Oz. Will there be time to donate after it expires? I got a new job lineup working on summaries.
Starting point is 01:18:47 We've got to wait two months. I think the answer is potentially for that one, Greenie. Well, I'll have more answers from Craig on that. But I also tell people, that's the other thing, too,
Starting point is 01:18:57 if people are waiting, like the Kickstarter doesn't take your money until the campaign is done on that day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you're planning, well,
Starting point is 01:19:04 I was planning on last day. Whether you do it now or last day, it still comes out at the same time. Yeah. 28, Maska, did you wind up watching Pan's Laverin this weekend? I did not end up going,
Starting point is 01:19:16 no, but I will go this week. I've never seen it. So I will go. You've never seen Pan Zibran? Never have, no. Oh, dude,
Starting point is 01:19:22 why don't you do that for your channel? That's the, I know, I know what I'm saying. Yeah, like an out of theater reaction. No, no, no, no. No, no.
Starting point is 01:19:28 A reaction to it. Well, I want to see the theater. I want to see what looks like. Is it out of the theater still? Yeah, they brought it back in 4K. Oh, I didn't know if it was still,
Starting point is 01:19:36 I didn't know if it was still like, if you missed it. If you do wind up missing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a good idea. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:43 Michael D. just got home from seeing Hans Zimmer live here. If you guys ever had the chance to see him. I have seen him live. When Durina got tickets, when we were doing quite a wife, it was by USC and I went and saw him. He's actually playing in New York in like February. I might go see him. I've seen him.
Starting point is 01:19:57 He's awesome. He's awesome. NeoG19, Christian, trending episode 40, Meet Martini's Latin boyfriend. He's half her age a foot shorter than you and keeps trying to fight you. Clarity ensues. I'm offered only no acting credits in all series as Keepa. That's hilarious. Thank you. I do like it.
Starting point is 01:20:13 in this. I've gotten a lot of people who have said, like, hey, I'd love to, you know, is there a chance to audition for it? Is this? I haven't heard from Finstock in forever. And he was like, you got apart for me? Of course, of course. El Baba Yaga. I know it's random, but trained to Bisona Reactor Sam would be great for October release, such as a masterpiece of a movie. You know, I've never seen it. Director, new movie, Colony just came out. Yeah, that's a, like I said, it's a really, that picture. You is the whale? Yeah. Yeah, that picture's amazing. That's, that That's that, so you know what's funny? That picture is multiverse me.
Starting point is 01:20:48 Had I continued the path I was on when I first got back to New York with not, with not working out and just eating meatball subs and everything else I was doing? There was two versions. There's the one that you're sitting here now looking at and that. Yeah. That would have happened. I was getting, I was getting at one point. I looked at an old reaction I did with Sam. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:07 I wasn't, I mean, I don't know if I was there, but I wasn't too far off. I'll tell you that. me, OG, hoping I can read my donation next week. Thank you. Yeah, anybody who's considering it, all I can say is thank you so much for that. Matt Krugman, tough weekend for Chicago, folk, between the socks out of the playoffs. Dikka's passing. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 01:21:26 When did that happen? I'm sorry, Peel. Yeah, Dicka passed over the weekend, yeah. Oh, I didn't know. Where the hell was I? And the Bears getting absolutely hammered by the Packers. That's why he's been so quiet that I. Listen, what did you expect?
Starting point is 01:21:37 You're playing the Packers with Case Nugent, whatever his damn name is. I think you probably knew. He probably saw it. So that sucks. Brand tangent. That is a tough weekend, though. Matt Sinister Macau. Watching 31 this month.
Starting point is 01:21:50 PLD. Watching 31 this month. What does that mean? 31 for 31. 31. 31 horror movies for 31. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 01:21:57 Thank you. Thank you. PLD, 5 horror movies that scare you the most. Here are mine. Exorcist, Janjum, Haunted Asylum, Rec, Incognation, and Eden Lake. I've heard of none of these except that. You can answer this on the, on the, on the, on the, on the discord. Right. So get out of here.
Starting point is 01:22:13 Nobody cares. Well, some of the guys said paid five bucks to hear him saying. I'll throw out there quickly. The Shining, because I was really young when I saw it. Yeah. The dissent. Probably Blair, which, because I actually saw it before it came out in the theaters and my friend convinced me it was real.
Starting point is 01:22:27 Like, it was like, I saw it on the computer screen. And I was like, and he told me it was like real footage. So that, you know, probably if follows, I really liked. And Halloween, original Halloween. Oh. It was scary you the most. All right. The Ochi Halloween.
Starting point is 01:22:41 Well, again, I was really young when I saw Halloween. You've never seen a human caterpillar. I have seen. That didn't scare you? That grossed me out. Okay, okay. What about bone tomahawk in the separation of the body? Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:22:52 That's what about gore stop. I can deal the gorse stuff. It's more like a freaking meal. That's the stuff I don't like. It's not because I can't do it. It's just a good point of it. Fair on, fair. All right.
Starting point is 01:23:01 I beat it peeled. So the other thing, you want, you guys want to a real awe moment. I've seen at dinner last night. With me with all of us was me, Macy, Vivian, and Sadie. And Macy goes, what's you guys biggest fear? At nowhere, right? So we said, whatever's going around and tells us. And then we said, well, Macy, what's yours?
Starting point is 01:23:22 And she goes, losing dude. My dog. My dog. Oh, no. She's like, she's so attached to that dog. She's like, her biggest fear is, is like not having dude here anymore. And like, she fell asleep with him last dude. It was the most adorable.
Starting point is 01:23:41 She fell asleep with them last night. And they both passed out on each other in her room. And like it was like a photo. Like a magazine. Like they both crashed out. And like I picked them up and moved them. And she like out of a garage goes, no. And it falls back to sleep.
Starting point is 01:23:57 It was. So. Yeah. So but that when she said that I know people that don't let her see morally in me. I know. She can't. She doesn't. She did.
Starting point is 01:24:06 This is a good. This is why I know I don't have a dexter on my hands. because she loves animals so much. Even like spiders, it's like, don't kill it, put it outside, right? And then she was also when we watched, she wanted to watch Jurassic Park for the dinosaurs. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:24 When that, when they first, when they tease the T-Rex, when they have like the goat. And when that goat dies, she lost it. She started bawling. She's like, I can't watch this one. I'm not watching. And that was it. So, you know, I guess that's a good thing.
Starting point is 01:24:38 All right, let's say next one. Mike Joyce, I thought Jeremy Strong was too cartoonish as Zuckerberg, but then I saw an interview how he actually talks to interviews. Yikes, we're sure he's human. That is the thing, right? Because he does play such a character. But when you look at that's, he kind of encapsured how non-human Zuckerberg is. Right.
Starting point is 01:24:58 That's why Eisenberg's performance is so good because he made him human. Whereas Jeremy made him very much Zuckerberg. Where he's evolved into, of what he's evolved into. Right. Yeah. It's true. 28 Vasco. Fun fact, parts of the original carry were filmed in my hometown
Starting point is 01:25:12 of Santa Paula, California, an hour north of L.A. Many shows and movies have been filmed there. Yeah, that's cool. My wife was like, how can you even watch it with us? I'm like, you know, I was so tired. I went to, like, swine upstairs, and I passed out. I had nothing against the movie itself. Everyone says how great of a movie is.
Starting point is 01:25:27 But even my wife, which is like, yeah, it just holds up. It's a really good movie. Yeah. They've been watching. My wife and do we watch all of, um, yellow jackets together they've been watching shit together so uh shan macape spending columbus day cleaning the grease off my stove great time meeting so many good friends the other night too many in a name was a privilege
Starting point is 01:25:48 it was cool to see you guys as sean showed up with the lovely wife and we and everybody i didn't get a chance to talk to you as much sean but like it was um you know it was just we had a meet and agree with everybody and we're just talking and it was and you get it's it's one of those things where you just you're just kind of spinning around talking to everybody and it was a great just talking to all these amazing people and it was like it was awesome you know we want to give a shout out to shit um there's one particular dude that i want to make sure where is he can't i can't find it let me see if i still have it uh i'm bummed no i was surprised you see while you're thinking that up kyle granted eddie it was great to see kyle
Starting point is 01:26:27 and i felt so bad because kyle's mom was there with him right and um you remember kyle from the from the schmodeown uh i don't think so kyle would go to all the events and he'd And he's got such a big boomer voice. Like, yeah. Right. And so I was immediately transported back to 2019 when I got on stage. And like, I think I have the video. I play the beginning part of it.
Starting point is 01:26:56 But you can hear him yell. And I literally go, where are you been? Because I hadn't seen him in so long. But his mom was like, you remember me? And I was so out of it at that point because I was just like, I'd gotten offstage. And I couldn't place it. And then finally she points to Kyle. I'm like, of course.
Starting point is 01:27:08 course I remember. They were wonderful, wonderful people. But let me see if I can find this. This is it somewhere. Give me a second. I want to make sure that it's another thing it's on the downloads. Someone sent a spoiler for Carrie in the in the why would you do that dude? Don't put a spoiler in here. Sending a super sending a super chat with a spoiler in it. Oh, I'll look at it. I'll look at it. All right. Okay. So this is let me see. Let me see. I want to make sure that I can I want to, I'm trying to this to just just the opening part of it is okay that's not that's great where have you been uh so yeah it was great to see everybody that too is was he in orlando was he in orlando i'm sure he was he used to come to all them i don't know if he was necessarily he was at all the new york
Starting point is 01:28:06 shows you never did no you never know you never know i never did you and i didn't win you know i know he was in Houston. He was a bigger guy, but he's lost a lot of weight. He lost a lot of weight. He looks great. No, I was happy with how healthy you look. If he's in the Orlando audience at the live show, someone pointing out, if he's wearing the big blue shirt that I know who you're talking about, but it's the front row was spectacular.
Starting point is 01:28:27 The spectacular when you were sick and came back. Oh, yeah. That's a, that whole fight. Dude, that whole day is a, it was a hazee. You would remember, you'd remember you'd remember Kyle you saw him. I don't remember. He was a lot of these things, too. That's great. Frank. So, oh, speaking of Schmowdown, by the way, and I was glad that I
Starting point is 01:28:42 just freaking, I just, I can talk about two hours. No, but I just, I know, but I just remembered this because this is fake. Today, after the show, yes, and I think around 2 o'clock, exactly, a premiere on the Vault channel, John.
Starting point is 01:28:58 Hmm. Oh. A very first ever Shmodown spectacular is going to be doing a full on premiere. So if you've never seen the Shmodown, you've never seen the first spectacular. The premiere is going to be today
Starting point is 01:29:12 and it's a three and a half hour event. So get your, because you know, it's funny, John, and originally, I don't know if you remember this, but when we, when we aired that, because we had shot that in like October or November, right? Yeah, I remember that. And so we aired it in two parts. It was part one and part two.
Starting point is 01:29:29 Yes. This is the first time it's ever been aired in its entirety. Wow. Full-in. And then what I'm also going to do leading into season four, I'm going to take all of the matches. The first match is the first ever energy. a match and it's for the title.
Starting point is 01:29:44 Then it was a number one contender match for teams. It was team. Can you remember who the teams were for the number one contender match? No. Is it? It's a tough.
Starting point is 01:29:57 It's a tough one to remember. No, I don't remember. I don't even remember who I fought if I was even at the first spectacular. You played, if I tell you what you did, you would remember immediately. Did I play twice or twice? You played twice.
Starting point is 01:30:10 Is this where I played Riley and then play the teams? against the Patriot? You played teams first and then you played Riley. Yeah. So that, so, but we had the number one contender match for teams was Team Trek, Mance and Inman. Oh, Mance and Inman. Versus versus ETC to Elliot and Ricky.
Starting point is 01:30:27 Yeah, Elliot Rookie. Then it was the team's title match, Patriots versus top 10. Then it was Roka versus a number one contender match, Roker versus Riley. And then it was the championship match, which was Ellis versus Merle. Yeah. And there was no gap between the team's match and the singles. Right into it.
Starting point is 01:30:47 Yeah, I had to like, I did a little bit of a break. And we had to set, we got to set the matches and we did like a scene or something. And then you had to jump right into it. Yeah. So it's a great. First one,
Starting point is 01:30:57 first one's good. First one is. You did a great job with that first one, bro, for sure. Thank you. Yeah, first one was good one. All right. Let's see. Next one.
Starting point is 01:31:05 Is this, let me, let me double check. Is, which is the spoiler one? I'll come out. I'll, I'm not right before it goes on. Okay. All right. All right. So Frank, saw two episodes of Carrie. Really great show, but difficult to watch. I wish Flanagan would go back to work on original stuff. I get he likes King when nothing beats Midnight Mass his best work. I don't know. He seems to find his niche. Things are going pretty good for him right now.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Um, okay, let's say. Next one. Mad Sinister Macal. Probably if you got to get Chris and Winston reacting to more horror. That's their appeal. He creates a Kickstarter perk for trending. There you go. A John Roka punching bag. It's hilarious. You'd have to get permission to use my face. So you can't make that at all. I would love to do Chris and Moore. You guys didn't watch it, unfortunately. I had Conjuring up there. He did this whole big thing.
Starting point is 01:31:52 Oh, wow. No, we watched it. Brendan, hey, John and Christian, love the show. I'm going through a rough time. You both live with me out. Thank you, Brandon. Are you both seeing Willful? I heard it's great.
Starting point is 01:32:00 Yeah, I'm going to check it out tomorrow. Yeah, I found out today, just email during the show. There is no screening for it here in San Diego, so I'll have to wait until Thursday to see it. But I should have gone up last week. they had a screening last week. Wendy was there. I should have driven up. If I'd know it, I would have driven up. Yeah. I want to, I like, I really like that kid to.
Starting point is 01:32:18 Yeah, Austin Abrams. Yeah. Christian unpronounceable. What do you guys think about a new true detective with Nick Cage? I heard that he spoiled it. I heard he spoiled that he was in it. Well, no, Jeff broke it. Oh, he did. Once ago on the hot mic. Yeah, yeah. I don't want to say. I super chatted into S. S.C.N. Live about that like five years ago. I learned Nick Cage, Ned Harris to be in true. Did you really?
Starting point is 01:32:35 I did. I did. I was halfway there. So funny. Yeah. Yeah, Nick Cage, I guess, just will officially announce kind of when he was had some thing. I'm all for that. It's been great. Yeah, I think it'd be great. You'd be perfect for it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:49 Trey Porter. I kind of want to see if Michael B. Jordan can rock a Jericho, but I'm still hyped for Miami Vice. Yeah, I think he's going to look, but he's going to look, he's going to look slick, man. Come on. He was never going to rock a Jerry girl. No, no. Eric Slaby, what do you think of day drinker with Johnny Depp? He could have done the Jerry Carlin if it was like a 21st,
Starting point is 01:33:07 Jump Street version of Miami Vice. Yeah, right, a joke. Yes, exactly. What do you think of Daydringer or Johnny Depp? The trailer gives me John Wick meet supernatural vies. Plus, with Ebenezer, is he on the comeback? Well, let's see, let's, I mean, well, he's certainly getting opportunities. The comeback is if people go and see the movies. That's the thing.
Starting point is 01:33:24 That's the number one thing. Yeah. And the question is, how, what I hope people do, though, I hope people give, if you're going to, look, if you don't want to go and see the movie because you don't like him anymore, that's totally fair. Of course. but if you do go see the movie you got to give him a fair shake
Starting point is 01:33:40 right if you're going to see the movie yes that's the thing if you gotta be honest yeah you gotta be honest and you gotta say I get look it's a good movie he's great great actor so I'm interested to see it I wonder how Ebenezer will do because of where
Starting point is 01:33:57 it lands and right holiday now day drinker I heard the trailer was great yeah I like the trailer yeah I didn't see the trailer so I mean we'll see Let's see how they both do. They both do well, then the answer your question is yes.
Starting point is 01:34:11 Yeah, that's the thing. They both have to do, they have to do well, whether the good movies or not is irrelevant. They have to do well. And if they do well, then, yes, Johnny is back and you'll see him have a bigger part and parts of the Caribbean whenever they finally get around to it. They're going to bring him back.
Starting point is 01:34:23 Trey Porter, shout out to Lugammo as the villain. First TV role was a villain on Vice 40 years ago. Oh, that's cool. And now the main villain for the movie, full circle moment. That's pretty awesome. Totally. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Lil Yankees.
Starting point is 01:34:36 It's me of Yankees. Oof. Shit the bad, man. Not until Aaron Boone is gone. Are we going to win anything? Gotta bring Donnie. Bring Donny baseball in. Donny baseball back.
Starting point is 01:34:46 Why not? Let him coach. Let him give one run. He doesn't have one run as a manager. The Lil Yankee, have a great and safe week, gents. Glad to support great conversations with getting ready for work. Hope Sam feels better soon. I think she, I mean, well, she's supposed to come in today.
Starting point is 01:34:58 She said she's feeling better. Oh, okay, good. We're supposed to say, we're going to do lanterns today and going to, going to finish Justice League. I was going to do Spider-Man today, but I think we're going to finish up Justice League, and then we'll get Spider-Man. She's seen Spider-Man already, so I want to finish and get Part 2 out. Eric Slaby, Gunn said he's writing his next film now. What do you think it's going to be?
Starting point is 01:35:16 I feel like it's going to be Justice League or Batman. I'd probably prefer it to be Batman. Go ahead. Go ahead, John, please. I was going to say real quick. Jeff speculated on this. I think Jeff's right. Jeff said it's probably the next Superman movie, because that's where he's got a lead. A third Superman movie? Yeah, very clear. he's going is the super family superman movie because he already said there was a writer for batman
Starting point is 01:35:39 and that he's working with the writer for brave and the bold all right so a lot of people speculating it could be him he's working with himself but i think he wouldn't say he's writing a new one if he'd already been working on a batman one so i think he is writing a new a superman movie so he's doing a trilogy essentially yeah i think so a trilogy yeah for sure makes sense yeah eric slaby john how can liverpool let me let me write me hold this so bada you're done living pool what the booter, set of our pretty, a sysm, disposed, the catina was coming out.
Starting point is 01:36:14 Whatever that was. Write the ship, there's nothing to write. We were missing five of our top players on the pitch. We're still a work in progress. We're fine. Man City can suck a big bag of nuts, though, man. I'm telling you right now. The Yankee, Kerry should be, should have been a weekly release.
Starting point is 01:36:31 I mean, I agree. A lot of those things should be weekly releases. I agree. Yeah. Fuzzy Bubbles, Part 2, support and go raise. I like you bubbles, but look, the raise, I have my dad and my brother there, as I've said, mentioned many times.
Starting point is 01:36:44 Yeah, right. My dad has been there long enough that I still, I'll root for the raise or because of my family. My brother is a turncoat. You know, he's, he just, my dad ruled for both the Yankees and the raise. My brother is just a raised turncoat. But the thing is with the, who's raised in Cleveland?
Starting point is 01:37:03 How boring is that? So boring. It was going to be the one of those lowest rated things. Like that's the thing is once a lot of these teams are out, like the race in Cleveland? If it's Cleveland versus Milwaukee, no one's going to watch that team series. No,
Starting point is 01:37:18 when it's going to watch that team. The Dodgers, it's, if you're, if you are MLB, your hope, I mean, yeah,
Starting point is 01:37:25 you know, I guess, I don't know who you pick is you board, boredom city if you're in, if you're, if you're, if you, L,
Starting point is 01:37:32 but you need the Dodgers to make. I think Dodgers is, raise is the most exciting combo. Maybe. Because the raise were the best team. You can choose the AL. Yeah, but that doesn't matter though for again mainstream. It's Cleveland and Tampa Bay. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:47 John Lawless, support Faroak. There you go. Thank you, John. Yeah. Brandon, 402. With award season coming up, what Oscar films are you looking forward to seeing? It's still extremely early, but I believe the Odyssey a solid favorite. A hundred percent. Definitely solid. I would say
Starting point is 01:38:03 right now, if we're in, including I Play Rocky as an Oscar one, that one, and then the Andrew Garfield one. I'm looking forward to, for sure. And I guess, I guess, do in three. Yeah, dude three. Yeah, yeah, yeah. John Wallace.
Starting point is 01:38:16 I'm looking forward to Fjord as well. Which one? Which is the other one? Okay, okay. Yeah, I want to see that one. Yeah. John Wallace, idea for a reaction video,
Starting point is 01:38:23 Ty, Chris Cardenian, see, watch, watch Exorcist Martyrs when it comes out. It's the money. I can't do that there. Plus, the fact, like I said, you guys, if, if I told you, like, if everybody watch those videos,
Starting point is 01:38:33 I'd be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah. Something to do, but I, I mean, that video cost me a lot of money. You promised it. I did. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, nobody watched it, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:46 Digger was trash. Roka Tase got to be trusted. That's not fair. That's not fair. He's not the only person that said that. He can't even spell Vaseline correctly. So how much should I trust this guy? KCG.
Starting point is 01:38:56 Anyone see that show Fastlane with Bill Bellamy, Peter Westnelly, and Tiffany Amber, Theacin. I don't know if it was trying to be Miami advice, but it was fun. I remember it. I remember it. I didn't watch it. I don't. Yeah, I didn't watch it.
Starting point is 01:39:09 Bellamy had a moment. He had a moment for about two or three years. This has nothing to do with it, by the way. Sorry. Are better than, no one said they were better. I'm going to give, first of all,
Starting point is 01:39:19 first I'm going to give you guys both credit. I think that the Indians, oh, sorry, the guardians and the guardians and the, the guardians and the, the race are both better teams right now the Yankees. 100%. Yes.
Starting point is 01:39:32 Doesn't mean they're both boring. a shit. And doesn't mean that people, it's, for you guys, it's exciting for you and you should be. But the ratings will be extremely low. It's just how it goes. But I'm with you. Better teams. So you're not, that argument and you, that's,
Starting point is 01:39:47 that's the wrong argument to take for me. See, we're better, we're better than you. Yeah. You are. Clearly. You're still in it. Well, to be fair, you know, his premise is wrong. The Yankee's salary was 276 million this year. The Guardian's salary is 160.
Starting point is 01:40:03 in total adjusted allocations. So we're a little closer than you think. 176 is still a lot of money. Don't get me wrong. They're the better team of the Yankees right now. Yeah, there's a better team, but we're not the billion dollar Yankees anymore. No, but still,
Starting point is 01:40:16 but that's not the argument that's the Dodgers. You know, when you go, when you go, that's, this is the thing. When Yankees go anywhere, there's a matter where they are. Oh, yeah. Half of the stadium are Yankee fans. Yes.
Starting point is 01:40:30 That's not the case for the Guardian. You get like one guy All right, let's see Next one Cleveland Rock That's right Still's calling for Ricky Vaughn to come out Yeah
Starting point is 01:40:45 Eric Slaby What's more important MCU nailing Doomsday Or DC Nailing Man at tomorrow Good question Both are bad Which dude is essentially screwed
Starting point is 01:40:52 That's a good That's a great question You want to go I want to take that one first Are you on me too Oh I think, damn, I can't say, go ahead. What do you think, man?
Starting point is 01:41:05 That's tough. I think that it is, it is really tough because. Right. Yeah, because I will tell you that I, even though I think they're both crucial and I really, either answer could be the right answer. Yeah. The only reason I'll say it's more important for DC nailing man of tomorrow is if D. Doomsday doesn't hit all the way through.
Starting point is 01:41:30 There's still a possibility that Secret Wars could still be better and they're still doing it anyway. And it'll still happen and Marvel's not going to leave Disney. Right. And they'll still have jobs and maybe that can then, and they still are going to go forward with their plan to get through the X. Yeah, Secret Wars. Right. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:47 Yeah. Now, if Man of Tomorrow doesn't work, there's not a guarantee that Gunn and Saffron's plan is going to continue on with Paramed. Yeah, so maybe that is the answer because no matter how much of a 10-year plan they pitched him, right, the rumors are, the contracts are still up next year in spring. Money talks. So, yeah, that's how it works. Like, now, that being said, man, it's tomorrow hits. That 10-year plan is going to go into rapid speed, especially now with the unfortunate news of everything going on with the Batman. Yes.
Starting point is 01:42:18 Right. They think things will start to push. And you might actually see DC use Batman come first before the Batman. Batman. So there's a lot that's going to be riding on Manit tomorrow. So I think is that important. But it is very important for the MCU to also nail Doomstay to continue on the momentum that Spider-Man just gave them. For sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:40 Mike Choice. Roker, you're going to see the director's cut of the Devils. What's that? No interest. Yeah. The next one is a spoiler. Just, you know. This next one, okay. So I'll read it and edit it for you guys without putting it out of the screen. Okay, okay, do that. For John Lawless, Carrie episode four ending, when she blank was so heartbreaking and excellent acting.
Starting point is 01:42:59 My wife and I really turned up. And I agree. Yeah, some really good acting. I'm excited to see it. You're good, John. You're good. Alex, don't forget Wildwood from Lika Studios. 1023 is currently sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes of 17 reviews, really hoping to get the first Oscar this year.
Starting point is 01:43:16 Is Wildwood? What is that? That's the animated Lika Studios one, but it is not tracking well. It's tracking like 17. to nine million and it was a hundred million dollar animated film so yeah okay um this might this might put like in some real trouble after this if it doesn't do well uh anthony colson eric and jake from pretty much it directed me to watch you 13 years ago that's amazing we'd love to see either of them on doubled my pledge from 71 for you thank you so much anthony i appreciate that very much you know
Starting point is 01:43:46 jake actually reached out um and he he reached out to me and mario i think on on the show he was he he popped into the street when ellis was on and And he's talking, and we've actually gone back and forth. I love to, he's another pizza fanatic. I'd love to sit down with Jake and grab some pizza. We can do a video together. I like both those guys a lot. They're great people.
Starting point is 01:44:07 Luis Fonseca, using phones during a movie should be a felony. Oh, John, what was, so what was that thing? I was trying to find it on your, on your account. So what, what happens? There was somebody that got kicked out of the theater or arrested in the theater. What happened? Yeah, oh, in Burbank. Yeah, apparently they've got like,
Starting point is 01:44:24 policies there at the AMC Burbank. That if you're talking too much or you're causing a ruckus, the police will show up and arrest you. I don't know if you knows, but the Burbank Police Department, you don't mess around with the Burbank Police Department. They are hardcore. They give you a ticket for jaywalking.
Starting point is 01:44:41 They don't give a shit. And so apparently this is a thing that people aren't calling the police when patrons are being too loud or being too rabble rouser. I love it. Arrest them all. I love it. Luis, using phones during a movie should be a felony. Oh, you did that, Larry.
Starting point is 01:44:58 Lil Yankee, will you post last Thursday's comedy show on YouTube? No. How did you know that? How did you know that? I was going to say no. No, I was saying, oh, will you? Because I'd love to watch it. No.
Starting point is 01:45:10 Probably not. Because, again, I don't know when I'm going to be doing a show. Again, I don't want to give away all the materials. I mean, I can give. Oh, fair point. Fair point. It's what I can do. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:19 Welcome back. You know where they are? It wasn't, what can I help you with, sir? a nod then I go and I ask the young 18 year old guy in the aisles
Starting point is 01:45:34 I'm like hey I need to get some chips do you know where the chips are what happened nothing happened it's a question just wanted some Triscus so it was good
Starting point is 01:45:53 it was fun PLD actually recorded the whole damn Poor guy's arm was falling off. The 23-minute set. He didn't even know. They sell these things called tripods. I know what. I didn't even know at that time what we were going to do
Starting point is 01:46:05 and who was going to be recording it. But like, he didn't pay for a ticket. What the whole thing here? That is right. Yeah. I thought about that. I felt bad for a second. And I said, oh, I didn't pay for it.
Starting point is 01:46:13 He didn't pay for shit. Yeah, bought the guy pizza. I bought him a full-st- You bought his pizza too, didn't. But all pizza and barata. You can pay my set. Did I complain? Did I complain once?
Starting point is 01:46:23 No, you did not. You did not. I did not. No, you did. Okay, let's say. Next one. And we will say, John Lawless,
Starting point is 01:46:34 what Flanagan did with carriers, because you felt, no, it's not, that's not a, that's not a spoiler. Well, you felt for innocence.
Starting point is 01:46:42 It's, yeah, I mean, you can already feel as, as she's building up to it already. Hank Pim, where's your street fighter
Starting point is 01:46:47 hype levels out? I rented out theater for my crew and I'd watch a box office 40 million. 40 million. I think that's fair. I'll go a little lower. I'll go 35.
Starting point is 01:46:58 I don't think it's going to do very well. I'll go 30 or 35. I'm hyped for it in that I always bringing it back to pizza. We used to go to my favorite pizza place when I was younger and they had the the street fighter games and everybody would like line up their quarters and play the game.
Starting point is 01:47:16 There was a lot of Easter eggs in those trailers that made me feel like that. But I don't know if they can sustain it for a full movie. Yeah. curious. I'm very curious to see what the interest levels are on this one for sure. Yeah. Yeah. But if you rent that on a whole theater, that means you got some money. Sent some more super chance in for God's sense. Help me win this week, Pam. Come on.
Starting point is 01:47:36 All right. Fuzzy bubbles. Outlaw versus PLD in a cage match on Shmodeon. We were going to do a Survivor. It was the only one that we didn't do a Survivor series. We were going to do it. The lion doesn't mess around with the sheep, man. What was the one? Yeah. Don't need to bring it. You're nobody to bring too PLD. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:47:55 Yeah, go ahead. What was the one I had? We had something. I can't remember what it was. Oh, oh, oh, oh, it was actually,
Starting point is 01:48:01 Viviani had a good idea once. It was, it was the, it was the, it was the, it was the, he goes, let's do a,
Starting point is 01:48:10 he goes, let's do a Nicholas Cage trivia, we'll call it cage match. Yes, I remember that. It was good. We were going to actually do it. I really like it.
Starting point is 01:48:17 Oh, dude, I would have fought to be in that. Yeah, yeah. Rashad Green, now that Lanches is done, can you rate these mature comic book,
Starting point is 01:48:23 shows i haven't finished lanterns yet watchman landers i nerf and i never watched watch watchman raves about watchman the penguin dare double season one and peacemaker season two um i'll tell you the ones that i like really not fair for me because i've peacemaker season two i think i see i saw 53% of it um so i put that far all the way down if you talk about dare devil season one on netflix i'd probably put that at number two put penguin at number one um it's not fair to lanterns i'd probably put at three right now and i've never seen watchman so i can't say how do you feel about it yeah watchman number one for sure uh is the penguin the penguin number two lanterns number three no i guess darrow double season season one number three and then lanterns season
Starting point is 01:49:11 number four and then peacemaker season two um okay let's see next one after this wiley what's up wiley brooke are you going to live today need something to watch while i'll edit later on today No, sorry, I'm doing a geek buddy show, so that'll be up around 3 o'clock. I'm recording that at 1 today, so that'll be my show for today. Watch spectacular. Watch spectacular. There you go. Fuzzy Bubbles. Outlaw versus people. We do that one in a cage fight on Shrowdown.
Starting point is 01:49:38 Just kidding. Oh, there you go. Matt Sinner-Stra-McKall. What's a movie you haven't seen that everyone has? I don't think I've ever seen Citizen Kane. Oh! Yeah. Sorry. That's one. Obsession.
Starting point is 01:49:52 John Lawless. I'm generally not a troll, but cry, Eagles, cry onward to defeat. Yeah. Screw the Eagles. Yeah. I like watching them losing the way that they did. Dude, those TikTok videos were great yesterday. Enrique and Ritu, Digger can make your top 10 if you rewatch it on your channel.
Starting point is 01:50:09 Well, I'll probably watch it with Sam. I'll probably watch it with Sam. And I can guarantee, I'm not going to tell Sam a damn thing about it. Which, you know what's going to be from? This is how I'm going to predict that that watch goes down. Okay. I'm going to predict that she hates it. I'm going to predict I like it better to the second.
Starting point is 01:50:26 That's, and I'm not going to say a damn thing to her. Okay. Okay, let's see. Fair. October movie that you're most looking forward to says Hank Pim. So we go back to our October movies.
Starting point is 01:50:37 Did, let's see, I'll watch all the October movies that are coming out. Okay. And then again, if we start from the sense and sensibility, street fighter, whale fall.
Starting point is 01:50:51 Let's see. the L.G. Clayface, Wicker, Wildwood, Clara and the Sun, Christmas at the Kringles, the Mongoose. That's everything in October. Okay. I would say whale fall is still my most looking forward. I'd say probably whale fall, yeah, right now. Plus, I haven't seen any of the trailers for Whalefall. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:51:15 Yeah. Wow. On purpose. Oof. Looks so good. It's so good. Murphy, speaking on the X-Men in the MCU, I think Storm is the greatest potential to carry a solo movie,
Starting point is 01:51:25 or is it better for them to be team movies only? Oh, I mean, I said this a long time ago, people got really pissy at me when I said, I said, it depends on how they build them out. And I also, what I said, I told people, by the way, and this was something, and I know how you guys feel about it, too. You never get the credit for this shit, like months later. I said it in a report a long time ago,
Starting point is 01:51:43 I said, what I'm hearing is that in the X-Men movies, Cyclops is the lead of these things. So what did Kevin Feige say over the weekend? Yeah. Cyclops is the lead of these things. I said it. Yeah. Now one tweet.
Starting point is 01:51:56 It's fine. Don't need it. But nonetheless, I think that depending on how they're built out, you can potentially get some solo movies. But I think they're going, you got to see, you got to see, it's like wrestling. Who's resonating with the crowd or do you just keep making the X-Men movies? Yeah. Exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:16 So, okay. Let's see. Next one. And we have a few left. John Lawless, one more support for Roca. There you go. Thank you. Two more.
Starting point is 01:52:27 Mikey Rios to Sam, eating garlic cloves boost immune system. Well, I think she's feeling better now. At least she said, hopefully she goes. Hank Pim, best of these three movies. Kubo, Moana, or Zootopia.
Starting point is 01:52:40 Oh, man. So different. So different. Hmm. This doesn't even come back. This is less. less about a what's better because they're all excellent. They're all excellent. The way that I can answer this is just how what I would choose to watch first out of the three of them. Yeah. And this has
Starting point is 01:52:59 nothing to do with how great I think they are. And this is all probably probably good kids. I'll go Zootopia, Moana, Kubo, but they're they're all four and a half to five out of five movies. Yeah. I agree with Christian's ranking. Zootopia, Moana, Cuba. Absolutely. Yeah. Kubo's good. Don't give me wrong, but I think there are some things story-wise that hold Kubo back, where I have no issues of story with Moana or Zootopia. Last one, this is it. Okay. Seattle, is Sam Darnold seeing ghosts again?
Starting point is 01:53:31 Oh, because he threw two interceptions. Yeah. Dude, that 49ers team is the tough team. And it's a divisional game, so I don't think you can judge him through that. The next few weeks will be interesting to see how Sam Darnold does because, yeah, lost to my commanders, which had no business losing to us. But the 49ers game was tough. That could have gone either way.
Starting point is 01:53:47 If Cooper Cup gets that first down, Seahawks might go on to win that game. So you never know. This is the last one. Princess positive. Happy Indigenous people today, Roker. I'll watch the Wind Talkers to celebrate and do a Leo point when I see you.
Starting point is 01:54:00 Thank you. Thank you, Princess. Thank you. All right, John, so we did it. You get 61 questions. Some really generous ones here from the audience. Thank you so much for everybody for doing that. John, what do you got going on today?
Starting point is 01:54:15 And one more time where it can be, Yeah, find me at the Roker says on all social media platforms. Please, my YouTube channel, YouTube.com slash John Roker says. Also on the Cineophiles of my podcast I've been doing for 10 years, we just started Beetlejuice, part one dropped over the weekend for Halloween. We talked about Beetle juice, a little phone with that one. GeekBuddies later today at 3 p.m. of course, hot mic, spill the tequila tomorrow night. More geek buddies, all that happening.
Starting point is 01:54:38 My reactions and reviews this week as well. Thanks, Christian. Happy Monday, everybody. And donate to that Kickstarter for God's sakes. Let's go. Thank you to John for a beautiful. in here today. Thank you to you guys. Got one more from Poochut Ryan joining the show late. How do you feel that the director of Godzilla wants to do a Star Wars flick? I think he would do well.
Starting point is 01:54:56 It's easier said than done. Easier said than done, right? Like, do I think he'd make a good movie? I mean, I think he'd make one that looks pretty cool. But the question is, can you fit into the system of what they're doing right now? I don't know what their system is. The answer could very well be of, yeah, 100%. I think if this is the case, I think this is the right plan for them of what they're doing is that they have Kinberg's trilogy. And I think that should be the focus. Focus on 10, 11, and 12. Put out the entire thing as far as we know where we're starting, where we're finishing, we're going to start with John Watts. You can, because the thing is people going, oh, you need the same director to do all three. You really don't. I mean,
Starting point is 01:55:45 clearly with the original trilogy, you don't. However, you do need a blueprint. Well, original trilogy now, a blueprint, they got lucky. So I can tell you, they got lucky. You need a blueprint because the new trilogy had no blueprint, Fart City, USA. So hopefully, if you can get it, if this guy fits in, maybe he's the second director and wants to do episode 11, does he want to do his own original thing?
Starting point is 01:56:15 I don't know. I'd love to see them try. It just depends on what they're doing. Anyway, thank you guys for being here. As I mentioned, if you're watching this now, and if you have not donate and you're a Tommodeon person, well, you guys, you hit the goal. Yes, we did.
Starting point is 01:56:32 And yes, we will be in the promise has stood. We're going to make the pilot. We're going to make the Shmodeau. But in order to really make this thing, both of them, in a capacity, we're trying to hit our stretch goals. We're trying to get around the 300, 3,000, 40 area so we can get the microphones there. We can get people out there.
Starting point is 01:56:50 We can do things for Shmona. We can get the cast that we need. We can get the director of photography. That's where it all goes. People wonder, why you got to get to that second goal? That's why. I told you when we were doing this that we'll make stuff. We just want to make the best version of it.
Starting point is 01:57:04 So if you can and you haven't done it already, please go to our show's trending.com and check it out.
