A hell of black people I know been bootlegging movies for a long time. So don't do that. That is, that is standardly been happening. People with big old camcorders and stuff. I mean, we'll talk about creature commandos and Alan Tudek's voices in it. We're going to talk about the fact that a Hulk versus Wolverine movie is happening. You know, a lot of stuff. We're going to do all of that. And it's us. I got a lot of confidence after last week. I feel like, you know, the people are post gluttony, just like sitting bellies full of stuffing, want to celebrate with us for a couple hours. I feel like a talk to talk. That's what it is. Which I got to ask, dude, what did you make? Did you make anything? Or were you just the bum that ate everybody else's food?

No, no, no. So this is my first ever Thanksgiving, like, as a fiance. So I got invited to a ton of Friendsgivings that I respectfully opted out of. I wanted to do like just to me and her Thanksgiving. So like I didn't go out and do like, you know, I love a Friendsgiving, especially in L.A. where like, you know, orphan Thanksgiving is kind of the thing. And for 14 years, that's what I've done. But I thought it'd be cool.

So we, we watched movies. We decorated a Christmas tree. Like we put up the tree and decorated it. Like we got like bulbs that are like just for us. Like she got like a two reindeer like her name, my name, little first Christmas. Like we did the cute thing. And then I like stuffing more than like anything in life. So I made like a mean, you know, a nice lean mean, $2 stove top stuffing.

Like you can spend $80 on a turkey and I'm still going to eat my weight and stuffing. That's where I, why I do. And she made like a dope honey baked ham. She made green beans. I made sweet potatoes stuffing. We like split a 50-50 and then like a taramisu for dessert. How about you? What was your situation?

That is impressive. that is very impressive. So here's a deal. I've got family in town, which PLD, I don't know if you can hear me, if you could drop the names out for us real quick, that'd be great. Just might as well say it out loud.

But we did a, all my family's here, and my sister just bought her new house. And so she really wanted to, she really, really wanted to host. That was just, she wanted to do that. But she has been very sick recently. But she still insisted that she hosts because of the house.

So my mom went and took that over. Now, we for years now have been doing it like a potluck style because we don't agree that it's fair that one person got to drop like 500 a G for however many people. It doesn't help that my sister decided to invite every person she knows. This was an 18-person Thanksgiving. So I'm sitting here like, okay, I normally do the mac and cheese or the collard greens. The greens got taken by my cousin before I could get to it.

I'm not making mac and cheese for 18 people. That's expensive. I don't get paid enough to do that. So I went and I just like, you know what? It's time to learn a new skill. And I did the candied yams. I did maple bourbon, candied yams, bro. I'm going to tell you right now, those yams are.

are going to finish the job. The dodge ball started and take my leg for me. They are so sweet. Diabetes is coming for that ankle. I'm telling you right now, bro. You got to pick your battles, and if you've already felt the loss of a leg, maybe that's your battle to win.

I don't know if this is preparation. But Kennedy games, we'll take a man out. I understand. Dude, a little bit of crown vanilla and reduce that into the sauce that I used to, like, boil them. Oh, God. You mentioned collar green. and I gave Greg crap on this show about his lack of collard greens because I just didn't like fundamentally

don't understand having lived even five years without having them. That's crazy to be 30 something. But do you think bacon is implied, mandatory or not in collard greens? They're not. I typically, if I'm going to do it, I'm either putting in turkey nets or I'm doing ham hawks. But I never bacon. Okay. So I had some with bacon out the other day.

and I hadn't, like, I've had it like half and half, but I didn't know if that was like a, no, I mean, you, you, like, again, you typically want some sort of meat base in there. There's going to be, obviously, that I think the funny part is, I remember we had somebody over one time. They're like, oh, this is a grain.

There's no, there's not going to be any meat in it. I was like, yeah, there is. That's not collard greens. So great, I was like, that it's not collard greens. I don't know what to tell you. You need the, the meat juiciness in there, and that's part of what brings out the full flavor of it.

some wet spinach, enjoy it. Have yourself a time. Which has kind of a mustardy taste. If you don't have some mustard, sorry, I can't help myself. If you don't have it in there, it doesn't bring out the flavor and it's just a weird bitterness. And I go, I go like different types of vinegar personally.

Like if you do like a balsamic, like that brings out the mustard in a way that isn't. This show without Christian is just food talk. No, no, no, no. I've come to realize. It's just the longest thing. It is post Thanksgiving. It's post-Singgiving.

I still got theitis. Just by thinking about it, I'm already falling back asleep. I know as soon as we wrap at noon, I'm going to be right back in the fridge. Like, I know what everything is in there. I'm ready. The aluminum foil can only hide so much. A thousand percent. Look, man, I've got what?

I've got this today. I've got to work from like one to five. And then I am literally just going to become a vegetable on the couch. So it's totally, totally fine. I'm doing a live later. And I might eat during it. Like I think I'm going to do a live from like two to three And I might be like eating and bagging and boarding comics

But for right now, POD, if you'll go ahead and throw up this first story, let's talk about the Batman part two as James Gunn sets the record straight on it. So the Batman part two, James Gunn, is sending the record straight on claims DC Studios plans to scrap the sequel.

It's fine with rumors once again swarming about James Gunn's supposed master plan to scrap. The Batman franchise filmmaker has made it clear that DC Studios does and will continue to support Matt Reeves. Now, when DC Studios was formed, fans immediately started wondering what that meant for the Batman franchise. James Gunn was quick to assume, was quick to assure them. Matt Reeves' plans for the Cape Crusader would play out as planned. I'll bet at a time when the Brave and the Bold was also announced.

That meant that there would eventually be two different versions of the Dark Knight on screen with Robert Pattinson's Batman competing. with whoever plays the DCU version and vice versa. The latter take on Bruce Wayne is expected to be vastly different, though, with the focus on him training his son, 10-year-old Damian Wayne, as Robin. D.C. Studios has since become involved with the Batman franchise, giving notes on The Penguin and reportedly considering Turning Reeves' now scrapped Arkham TV series into a DCU set project.

Gunn has been nothing but. supportive of Reeves on social media, but for whatever reason, rumors continue to persist that he plans to scrap the Batman franchise. It's baffling claim, because even if the filmmaker would rather not have Andy Mushietti's movie facing off with Reeves' trilogy, there's no way Warner Brothers' discovery is giving up on the Batman based on the franchise's critical and commercial success. Now Gunn has once again weighed in on the rumors and set the record straight on where things stand with the Batman Part 2. Like, why would you eat? even believe a rando on social networking.

That's not social networking. Come on, baby. Social media. Damn it gun. Of course not. If it was canceled, it would be canceled. Who has time for charades? The exasperated Superman director exclaimed, I've been one of Matt's biggest cheerleaders for years since Cloverfield and the

apes movies. We are eagerly awaiting his script. This comes after Gunn recently said there's no set timeline for anything when it comes to Batman's plan DCU debut. that's oh yeah we can read that quote we don't we don't need to it's fine we've we've talked about that quote before where essentially he said that was last week's story where he said there was no timeline for anything it's just give me a good script and and it's going to happen but until we get the scripts we're not moving forward uh the badman part two is currently said to be released

in theaters october 2nd 2026 so coy you hear uh oh back to vertical plb please um you hear that story what what kind of comes to my man are you in any way shape or form still concerned that the Batman two or the rest of this trilogy

might be somewhere on the chopping block or do you think between the numbers the Batman did the numbers the Penguin did and probably the awards that the penguin is going to get once it's all said and done

do you think that this is safe and this is much ado about nothing the only thing the only thing that's changed that this quote brings is my reverence for the patience of James Gunn. I've never been worried. I've never thought for a moment that we weren't getting the Batman 2 since the Batman 1. I have been sure we'd get to the Batman 2 when James Gunn made his position known because I'm sure it was like many months slash

you know a year or so in the negotiation. Like when we knew about James Gunn in that position, even then I was like, well, he's made it pretty clear that the DCU is going to be severed from that. Like, I think every step systematically through the DCU has been, and Matt Reeves universe over here, the only thing these articles are is like some sap making 12 cents and click through, like, clickbait. Like, it's not a thing. Yeah.

So I like, I love that the culture of comic book movies and TV is so rich that people want every little morsel. Yeah. The other side of that is us needing to do a show about a thing that's been disproven 87 times. So like I and we're you know people on the internet James Gunn walks down the street and people are like the Batman too. So my reference for his patience grows every time I get impatient going. Yeah, it's going be great when we see it because it's definitely happening. Why do we think it might not? Like it's just madness. It is my take. No, I think it's the same thing. I still can't get past

him calling it. There's some random on social networking. I wonder if that was like a translation issue because like James Scott is not an 87 year old from like a middle America like what I but that's that's why that's why it could be so funny because he's still old enough I want to say if I remember correctly he's in his like mid 50s but even like mid 50s on the coast I said no America not to judge middle America but like people that are in the space totally get it but that's still like you know how like now that we are getting up there coy you you're you're still you're still do the things you but then occasionally that older man in you just comes out for no reason. I have a feel like he was so annoyed.

He's just like, you're just going to be on social networking because he probably saw the social network like again, you know, a couple days ago. So it just stuck in his brain. That's, that is where this story for me is where my heart is.

I love it. Your whole thing is the word social networking. Because it's not an actual concern. So you're like, I'm going to find this sentence fun. It's, it's literally, nothing would be stupider

because I'll tell you this much. I know that HBO is under the Warner umbrella and stuff like that, but as far as how they operate, they only like fully scrap things like continuing

if there is a problem behind the scenes. So unless, like, and I understand that Zazlov doesn't care and has done way worse things as far as yeah, you know what, bad girl, get rid of it. you know, Acme, coyote versus Acme, get rid of it.

Like, that can be problematic at times. But all that being said, the one thing that he's not going to do because he's damn near run Warner Brothers into the ground, he's not going to throw away what is a billion dollar earner has the potential to go again.

And like we just said about the penguin is probably going to scoop up all the awards. Like, the show was too good. And I guarantee the Emmys are coming. How can people even make ClickBid after the Penguin about this? Like the, like, the, the, the, the, the penguin's whole thing was the bridge between the Batman one and two. I'm confused how there's any single person left on the planet. That's like, you know, after the success critically, financially, and amongst fans, they should really stop this.

Like, I don't understand the way to think that way. Like, what's the logic in that? Like, Matt Reeves is doing a dynamic duo with James Gudd. Like, like, the Matt Reeves team, when they made the dynamic duo announcement, Matt Reeves was on that. So like, yeah, the guy that's canceling a movie is not working with the guy that movie, he's like, what, what? Yeah, I, I, it's, it's interesting because I think that's the whole point. I genuinely think that people, especially because the year is winding down, they, they feel like,

no, let's just push the buttons. Like, you know, let's. And December's great revenue for SEO, like, because, you know, right before the election is great revenue and then right before Christmas is great revenue and then January is traditionally pretty and this is something I'm keeping in mind is like you know YouTube payouts going to be tiny January so like I think it's the last bastion of like news and then next year is you know creature commandos starts in a week and so James Gunn's going to be able to have actual conversations while promoting creature commandos going right into Superman so it's these idiots last like

it's not happening like it's their last clickbait so get it out and now you in cells. And that's, and that, and that and that's it. Because, like, the funny thing is, as far as, as, you know, like, comic book movie, because we report on a lot of stuff that they put up, like, it doesn't even feel like it's something that they were like, and then we went and found James Gunner be like, so you're canceling the Batman too. Like, they really are just reporting on the things that are coming out. So clearly people have decided to poke the bear and just be like, so you canceled it, right? You canceled it, right? You're canceling it. Come on. Come on. Come on. Just tell us you canceled it. Like, it's just, I, I, like you said, I think James Gunn, has the patience of Buddha and really you know and really just keeps answering all these stupid questions that come over and over and over again but it is what it is

I don't blame people you do like they're concerned DC has not been very quality over the last few years you've had gems again like the Batman like the penguin but I think that's exactly why you got to remember that they're just fine

you know what I'm saying that there's no world in which they go, we can't do that. Now, again, we've discussed multiple times. Are people going to get confused with two Batman? I don't think so. I really don't. The tones are so different. And especially if you are very clear,

since the Brave and the Bold is a ways out, like we don't even have a script yet. So like, with it being so far out, who knows, you could be wrapping up the trilogy by the time the Brave and the Bold. And I personally love it's, you know, wait for the scripts to be gone. and then have the conversation.

You know, I'm not in a rush. Like, we're gonna, I'd rather have quality stuff come out when it's ready than try to hit certain markers that you set for yourself. Like, don't put a release date out in a movie that script isn't done and then have to chase a date that you yourself put out there. I just, I think this is a better way to do it.

Let's hop on to the next story. And that is talking about studios blaming Deadpool and Wolverine for existing. This is ridiculous. They're blaming them for the surge and moviegoers filming scenes on their phone. So let's talk about this. This is Josh Wilding from Comic with Movies. This past weekend movie lovers on social media were once again debating theater etiquette.

Wicked is full of memorable scenes and unforgettable musical numbers, including a triumphant final act for addition of Defined Gravity by Cynthia Irvo. Even if you haven't watched the musical, chances are you've seen footage of that online because it's somehow become the norm for people to take their phones out and either record full scenes or take photos in Wicked's case,

the opening titles. Bridie has shared an interesting piece on the controversies, speaking to one anonymous studio executive pointed the finger at Deadpool and Wolverine. Something happened post-pandemic where movie theater behavior has really changed. The unnamed exec told the trade. They have a different relationship with the material. It's all just content to them. Something really happened with Deadpool and Wolverine.

They're referring to the fact that filmmaker Sean Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman all shared bootleg footage from fans of various scenes while promoting the Marvel Studios sequel online. Rather than those expos being hit by the usual copyright warnings, they were allowed to rack up countless views to spread awareness and excitement, as you can see

in the example below, which ultimately did get taken down. Reynolds' spokesperson didn't return requests for comment, and Levy chose to say nothing. However, a source familiar with Levy's thinking said he never intentionally shared material shot in theaters and is strongly opposed

to privacy. A piracy. A piracy. piracy. Meanwhile, Universal Pitchers did not comment on the wicked piracy, but a source with knowledge of the company said internal teams are active in removing the illegal footage in most cases. Sounds like studios aren't equipped to deal with platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok being flooded with bootleg clips, while they act fast to remove full leaks on torrent websites, for example, taking down countless individual posts requires a completely different approach they're simply not ready for. This comes after Dwayne the Rock Johnson encouraged moviegoers to sing during the Mawanna. of two strings. Those comments have been widely condemned by film lovers. There you see this tweet here from Sean Levy. Rarely have Ryan Rellis and I had more fun writing anything for anybody who Jackman took this speech and used every word as a murder weapon. finger pointing. I do think that post-pandemic audiences relationship is different. I do think that we are commodifying everything and making it content instead of art. I talk about it all the time. I think it's really disgusting what we like what we do is content. We discuss art. Like this isn't art, it's two people discussing, and that's okay, because it's different. If someone wants to film us talking on YouTube, weird, but go for it. But like, if... It's happened. Oh, dude, people... The amount of, like, uh, I love the montages of really angry people making super cuts of me saying things about, like, supporting minority groups and, like, being an advocate and becoming, like, part of a team.

Look at this shill, marrying a black woman, so Winston will think he's cool, and then saying, he likes Black Panther, so Winston would think he's cool. You just like shilling to black people, boy. It's great because it helps me find other creators I might actually like. It gives me like a shortcut. Like when I look at someone say something after me, it can be like, oh, look, it's other people that I might see the world like. So I appreciate those people for taking all the time to save me time to find other creators.

But I think it's really short-sighted to blame any one movie because Deadpool Wolverine came out this year. The pandemic lockdown was four years ago. So the four years between then, this has been happening. And so a lot of movies have had bootlegging. And movies since movies and video cameras existed, like I remember, you know, bootleg VHSs with camcorders. I don't know how people snuck them in, were they trench coats?

Was it three kids stacked high in a trench coat with a VHS recorder? We've had them. So I don't think it's fair to blame one movie. I do think the relationship is different, especially with TikTok culture. are encouraging reactions in theater, which is gross, with it encouraging, people interacting, which is gross. If you want to sing in the movie, find a sing-along screening. Do not affect my experience because, yeah, you paid 20 bucks.

So did I. I do not want to hear you. I want to hear the movie. So the movie theater is as close to church as I'll ever understand. Don't ruin it for the people that want to be there for the movie. And that's what's happening. So, yeah, I agree with some of what they had to say, but I'm curious your thoughts. I think, well, just to that last point about the.

singing in the theaters. I think that there is two ways that you go about it. I think one, there needs to be a general understanding. If you're going to go to a black movie theater, it's like going to theater, and going to black theater is the audience interacting. I'm just going to be real. The greatest movie-going experience that I had was going to see Get Out at the Black Movie Theater. When I tell these stories all the time where like

you got the moment where you got a, you got a, you got a few different things, but you remember at one point when he's looking through all the photos of the various people that she's kidnapped for her family over the years. This one, this one random woman goes, oh shit, they got Tyrone and DeRail and Jamal and Aquisha. Hey, you better get out. Like, like yell this as they're going through the photos and people are dying laughing.

Or later on, you got, you got, uh, when she's eating her cereal with the milk and the colored separator that people pointed out and like the idea of separation while looking at NCAA recruits. And so this woman goes, this bitch. Like it's that kind of thing is just we understand culturally. If you go here, that's probably going to happen. Now that being said, unless it is the Eros Tour movie, the Renaissance movie, where it's literally this is the concert movie version of something.

so by all means that's just what's going to happen. If you're going to do that with like a Moana, make it specifically Moana to sing along show. Yeah, like have have it like they have some with captions on the screen and they have some with like they have screens showing different times for different things at a sing-along if you want. But that's separate because I don't want to experience that ever in a million years. Absolutely.

You couldn't pay me to see that, much less me have to pay for it. And I think if you. do that, what you can set up with that already as is, you are allowing people that want to do that, their own personal space to go and be a part of that. You're allowing people that just want to see the movie to also go and do that. And I think the theaters need to do that because you're already getting a situation where, and what you should do for the ones that aren't the sing-alongs, make it very well known. If you need to have an usher come in, hey, because we all- Alamo draft house. Yes, exactly. So it's like because we have this other option here,

please do not talk or sing during this movie. You can even film because you know at the beginning, don't text, don't write. Like that whole thing, you can even go, don't text, don't write, don't film the movie. However, you did join the sing-along version. So by all means, sing to your heart's content. Dude, there's 30 minute blocks when the big movies come out, right? Like a two, a two-30, a three, have the two-clock be your sing-al-al-hack-house, have the three, have them all be different things. But I would then mean that one of those screens has like an usher in the movie like Arkite used to that is my like have an influencer screening that says inf next to it and have all those fucks film all they want. Like I don't care. But I want a real screening.

But that's kind of piracy as it is. I mean, I guess you could you could you like because what? The rule of thumb is if you got like you got about seven seconds or something like that. Yeah, yeah. But that's what I mean. If they want to grab those moments, I don't want to see that once in a regular screening. If they want to have, they're filming themselves with the light of the screen and they want to react, I think it's disgusting. But I'd rather that be its own screen rather than the people busted out in a regular showing.

No, I agree. But I, but that's the other thing to me. Like, I get it that people's mentality has changed a little bit, that people will pull their phone out and record stuff. So I'll give that exact some credit. But I'm also like, I think you're really out of touch. The barbershop always has the damn bootlegs.

So, like, that's the only thing to me that is funny to pretend like piracy is an already a thing. So, like, to pretend like that's not a thing is weird, but I will give the idea that now it is commonplace to put this stuff on social media. That's what shifted is, I think, since the pandemic. And that's also TikTok. Like, the TikTok culture is really different than what, and even YouTube culture is changing because of TikTok culture. And Twitter is obviously its own problem now. Like, they're all different, like, plagues. And so the plague of TikTok is affecting movie theaters. Yeah.

No, I mean, the last thing I was going to say is like thinking about it. It's not like we weren't doing it because one of my favorite moments of the run of endgame was people sharing. Like the collective gasp of on your left and the screaming of. assembled like that so like it already and that was 2019 right pre-pendemic right that's what i'm saying like it's gotten worse is what i'm speaking to it's existed since we've had handheld cameras of any kind that's why i brought up to three kids in a trench coat people snug VHS camcorders in somehow and they were the size of like you know a laptop so it's it's always been a problem yeah no absolutely man absolutely absolutely but y'all

in the super chats in the comments, man. Our next story that we've got to jump into here is one about creature commandos. So James Gunn reveals Aletudic's voices characters with major ties to the metalman. Man, man, I haven't heard

that name in a while. Yeah, dude. All right. So this is Josh Wadding in a comic book movie. Creature Commandos is very nearly here, and while Rick Flagg, Sr. clearly has a bright feature in the DCU, only time will tell what becomes of Task Force M's other members. Regardless, James Gunn has assembled a terrific cast for the animated Mac series, and in an interview with Collider, he revealed more exciting DCU casting news. Peter, how do I pronounce that Sarah Sera Finowitz? Yeah, that's the actor. Okay. Peter Serafittowitz, as Dr. Frankenstein, is great, Guntees.

Alan Tudick as Will Magnus. His performance is based on Mike Nichols, who he did play with one time. There are just so many fun things in there. If that name rings a bell, it's because Magnus is the brilliant scientist who occasionally suffers from debilitating mental in in his, responsible for creating the metal men. He also serves as a general robotics expert among the superhero community, and we bet on him. having ties to GI robot and creature commandos. Whether this means we'll see the metalman in the DCU is a mystery, though Gunn has since taken the threads to say, as it was always stated, we plan on the actor playing the same role for primary castings.

If it's a minor character in Creature Commandos, we didn't do live action far and wide searches like we did for more sizable characters like Circe and a Circe, Nina, etc. In other words, Walt Toadic, for example, has a voice of minor characters like Magnus and Clayface in this show. Oh, Clayface in the Creature Commandos? What? It didn't necessarily mean he'll reprise the role and live action down the line.

Logistically, that makes a lot of sense. Back to that interview. Gunn made sure to praise the show's entire cast, Harbor as Frankenstein Grillo, just being able to deliver the whole time, Zoe Zhao, who was fantastic in the show. Indra Varma, who's fantastic as the bride. Then also, Michael Roker is Sam in episode three, such a pathetic, sad guy and so different from the characters that Roker has normally done. He also cleared up some recent continuity confusion.

Peacemaker's Season 1 is basically canon outside of the appearance of the Justice League. We kind of talked about this last week, which you'll see something about in Peacemaker's season 2. We explained Suicide Squad is probably a little bit looser. We know that Rick Flagg Sr. is angry because his son was killed by peacemakers, so we know that situation happened in the past. something to refer to to think of what it might be like that happened but that exists as canon because it was mentioned in creature commandos not necessarily because it existed in suicide squad i think of suicide squad and peacemaker is pretty unreliable memories of what happened in the DCU he concluded okay it's and i didn't hear that last part about the unreliable memories before

it's probably the best explanation we've had to date in the whole thing perhaps isn't as confusing as it's arguably come across in previous comments from the filmmaker on social media Creature Commandos premieres on Max on December 5th. Check back here for more. All righty. So, you know, I think that it's one of those things that Alan Tudick is just such a prolific voice actor. He's a prolific actor in general, but it's such a prolific voice actor.

I think it was easy to be like, hey, my guy, can you come over here and do the thing real quick? Because, you know, even though he didn't, gun didn't work on Doom Patrol, like, Tudek has done a lot of D.C. stuff already. And I think that that might have been like, even though he already loves Tudik on his own, just probably being like, hey, bro, you already do so much for them. Would you be willing to come and join Creature Commandos and do some voices and stuff? And I think that that's probably what ended up going on.

But, Coy, what do you think about all of this, man? I think Tuduk is such a talent. I've moderated panels with him before. And he is, like, he can change three voices to have a conversation with himself on stage. and they feel like different people and you're sitting next to him. To see him work in life is so impressive. And he's one of my favorite things he does.

And this is unrelated. But he signs whatever he has on him. So he'll bring a bag like Santa of stuff. Sometimes it's stolen from like the hotel room, like coffee pot and like stuff he picks up on the way to the con. Like literal pure chaos. And then he'll sign it doing voices and he'll sign it as the character or as Alan Tudick, depending on what they want.

But it's like the most insane stuff. Like he'll take stuff off. walls and so like the man is insane and i love him dearly one of my favorite people to host for because he feels like 20 people when i host an all intutic panel i feel like i'm hosting for a panel of actors because it's one man times 20 um so him as anyone i'm always excited for him as multiple people i'm more excited for because i know what he brings to a project um this has me excited like these are names you don't get to hear a lot this is a lot of like comic book lore come to life that excites me. And I love this idea of canon because that's how I always see canon. Like when you read a

comic book, the writer is looking at 70 years of lore in some cases. The writer is looking at 20 years of lore in some cases. And no matter what, they're picking and choosing what works for that storyline. So it makes sense that if it's mentioned, well, it's canon to the storyline. I think that's also life. Like in our life, history is written by the victors, unfortunately. And, We were raised to think that Columbus was a nice guy until recently compared to the scale of America. So I think that canon events are also something that happened in our life because we celebrate Thanksgiving a little differently than we did in the 90s. So I don't know. I think it's all relative to the story being told.

No, I fully agree. I mean, just on the Alentudic level, man, I didn't talk about it. Like, I just wanted to pull up the sheer amount of things that he's done, right? So he was Green Arrow in Young Justice, the Injustice game series and an infinite crisis game. He was Simon and Captain Cold in Young Justice. He's the Flash in Batman the Brave and the Bold. He was Superman in Justice League War. He was the Joker, Clayface Calendar Man, Dr. Trap, Condiment Man, and several other characters of the Harley Quinn show.

Master! Master! He was Van Wayne in the powerless show. Obviously, we know he's also got Dr. Dr. Phosphorus in Creature Commandos, but I think probably my favorite thing that he has done DC-wise has been Mr. Nobody in Doom Patrol. He was fantastic, and that actually makes sense now

with you talking about him being, like, crazy in a good way, why he played Mr. Nobody so well. Well, like, did you watch the show? I've seen clips of him because I love him. Dude, you got to, it's honestly a very good show. Like, especially that first season, that first season broke my brain with how good that show was. It was, it was wild, man.

That was around the time when I first started doing stuff with Jay. We were reviewing Doom Patrol. And it was just chaos. It was pure chaos. So, like, plug for an old DC show, it should be on Max still, man. Doom Patrol is crazy. But, but yeah, I, I think that this is just a moment where Gunn was like, here's a talent, we need to fill stuff out, voiceover stuff is already different. You heard just in Harley Quinn how many characters he was doing. So his main character was the Joker, but like you see

with most voiceover actors, if you watch like Futurama, it's like five, six actors there, and then they're covering the spread of everybody. Same thing with the Simps. He's also Clayface in the Harley Quinn show, which is a lead that is completely opposite of Joker. Like, those are arguably two supporting leads and they could not be more different. Yes. Dude, especially because he's playing Clayface really deep into the whole idea of him

being just this failed actor. Exactly. He's like, now I get to play Mr. Freeze. And then it turns of... Dude, I just started watching that show. It's immaculate. I, my fiance, we watched some of the newer stuff and she loved it. So we went back to the

beginning. We're on like episode five of season one. That show is Pitch perfect. It's so good. It is so good. I still need to watch Kiteman. I hate that I didn't watch Kiteman. Hell yeah. But I heard that that was also very, very good. But yeah, this seems like par for the course. I'm not, I'm not, none of those, none of that was really that shocking or new. I think the one little bit that I didn't previously hear about Peacemaker and Suicide Squad being canon is the specific quote of its unreliable memories.

I think that that's actually a very good thing to hear out loud and a good explanation specifically. Because it's always like, well, some of it's canon, some of it's not. If it's like an unreliable storyteller type situation, I don't know, it kind of happened like this. To me, that's like a funny way to go about it and feels very up the alley of peacemaker or anybody in that kind of like shoot of the DCEU. they would be unreliable storytellers. I'm sure they are probably traveling cross dimensions as we talked about, but that's probably why they're confused.

They're like, no, man, because then like, you know, Aquaman came along. I was talking about them effing a fish and blah, blah, blah, like that's, yeah, yeah. They're like, what are you? Who is Aquaman? Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I can see that kind of going down.

Yeah, and I like that we're going to find out, you know, starting soon. It's one week till Creature Commandos, and then basically next year, like Superman, is in July, but that's going to be a crazy lead-up of finding out what the DCU is shaped, as I imagine. So, like, it's going to be, I don't know, like, we didn't know how big the MCU was going to be. And then the universal dark did not take off. And a bunch of other shared universes

have bad, like little starts and stops. I'm really excited to see something that feels like, you know, it's got some pacing already figured out. It has some ideas and there's a shape. And it's got to be fun to see something assembled, for lack of a better term. No, I fully. fully agree with that. All right, so let us know what you think, y'all. Give me the Hulk versus. This is Wolfrene. So this is Josh Wilding at comic book movie. It's been a lot of chatter online about this for a while, but if a new rumor is to be believed Marvel Studios is officially moving forward with a Hulk versus Wolverine movie. That's easy to forget, but The Incredible Hulk was right there alongside Ironman in 2008 when the Marvel Cinematic Universe launched.

The movie was neither a hit nor a flop, but given the tepid response to the reboot and behind the scenes issues with actor Edward Norton, it soon became the franchise's black sheep. Wright's issues also came into play, and it wasn't until 2022 She-Hulk Attorney-at-Law that The Incredible Hulk was referenced in a meaningful way. Next up is the leader's return in February's Captain America Brave New World. There have been rumblings for at least the past year or two

about a World War Hulk or Hulk's movie being in development at Marvel Studios. There's no way we'll see that before Vendor's Secret Wars, and a new rumor points to there being other plans for the jade giant moving forward. According to Scooper, My Time to Shine, Hello, Marvel Studios has begun actively developing a Hulk versus Wolverine movie. There's no word on what form this project will take or which variance of these characters we can expect to see square off. It could be another multiversal adventure starring Hugh Jackman and Mark Ruffalo, for example, or perhaps a story set in whatever the MCU looks like after the supposed soft reboot, Secret Wars will look. lead to. If it's the latter, then we might see a new actor play Wolverine with Hulk factoring into his origin story similar to their first clash in the comics. Logan then

working for Department H. battled the Green Goliath during his first appearance in 1974's Incredible Hulk number 180. For what it's worth, Jackman has been rooting for this team up since at least 2014. There's no doubt he'll get in a fight with Hulk at some point, the actor said at the time. Those two bad rage-filled characters are going to score off at some point. It would be quite fun. I don't know how much fun to shoot it would be because I'm sure I'd be on the worst end of it, but hey, he can heal. In 2020, he added, Wolverine would beat the Hulk for sure. Let's just be very clear. I don't know if you know this, but the Wolverine actually appeared first in a Hulk comic. He was like a, he was like a last page, some guy coming. So it was the Hulk series he appeared. So that's sort of where that feud came from.

And then Wolverine sort of took on this whole life. So I'm sure the Hulk is very jealous. Deadpool and Wolverine tease the clash, but it seems Marvel Studios might be saving the full fight for its own movie somewhere down the line. All righty. Coy, you hear that. We are potentially that this rumor is circulating that we're getting this Hulk versus Wolverine movie. Are you here for it?

Or you're like, we've already, you know, we've already. you know, we've already, like, got these two characters established. I don't need to see it. It's not that big of a deal. I think it's a smart idea for a new Wolverine or new Hulk. I definitely think we need to get back to rage-filled Hulk. I think Smart Hulk has run its course. So if that means we get Rage Hulk, because, like,

Smart Hulk wouldn't fight Wolverines. That would imply, you know, rage-filled Hulk. I love the idea of nodding at the first appearance. They did a really good job in Deadpool and Wolverine with that. I think it was, what issue is it? It's a Todd McFarlane cover. I think it's in Cruc, 341, but the cover where, you know,

the mirroring in his claws, like that felt like it would have been the scene if they weren't saving it for something else. Like, I feel like we would have got Wolverine versus Hulk and Deadpool Wolverine if there was no plan to eventually do it. So that could mean, you know, it's very loose and there could be an idea down the line.

It could be something happening sooner. But either way, it did feel very consciously, like, let's save this. I don't, I mean, again, this is, it's an iconic thing from the comic books, and that's what it feels like the internet just does now. I could just type like Spider-Man in black suit, in Spider-Man 4, and then I just put up a picture of Amazing 252,

and everybody's like, it's happening. Like, it's just someone making a couple bucks by saying a thing is happening. I just, I really struggle with this rumor-based internet phase. Is it worth talking about, sure? I mean, look, I- said something. Like, I can walk down the street and I can be like a studio executive. It could be the guy cleaning the trash out at Sony. But I, but I would trust him just, just from the standpoint of like, because he's going through the studio exec's trash. All that shit is shredded and he goes,

and they didn't keep it. That's trash. You know, and I'd be like, tell me about you. You have never watched Mission Impossible. The mission didn't stop when the suitcase blew up. You have 10 seconds before this message self-destructs, Koi. Did Sony get the rights to Hulk and Wolverine in the last? five minutes. Did I miss something? Why does Sony have it in their trash? Well, look, man, first of all, you made this fantasy up. Not me. Don't bring me into this. I'm saying it's that not credible. I'm saying it wasn't credible. Nah, it was a memo being sent over and we want Spider-Man to come in real quick and go, damn, that's crazy. And that leap you just made is the leaps the internet makes to

make this stuff true for one more new cycle. It's about to be quoted on another article right now. 100%. Scoop broken. Winston-Marsal from the Capes and Cowell show has said that Spider-Man will appear in Wolf and we'll have one line. Damn, that's crazy. His source Sony trash guy. That the theoretical Sony trash guy that nobody knows the real name. We won't actually watch the clip of us discussing it. It's just the sound bite that is. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. It's crazy. I mean, look, it's, it's again, that's why you lead with it being called a rumor. What are you going to say outside? Like the minute you say it, people can't get mad in the same way that if you're talking about stuff, you've got like anything that's going on. Um, oh my God,

uh, uh, uh, with like legal battles. So just for example, all the stuff going on with Diddy. Um, every time you report on that, you got to say allegedly because the trial is still going on unless somebody is actually convicted and all that kind of stuff. It's all allegedly until it all plays out. So it's the same thing by saying rumor that Marvel Studios is moving, for it with the movie. It's rumors. So you can be like, all right, I'm going to take it with a grain of salt. It might be happening. It might not be happening. It'd be cool if it happened, but it is what it is. We'll see what goes on. So this one just feels like it doesn't have anything except for someone saw that their first appearance was together. And then that scene and they were like,

it's happening. Like this one just, there's rumors and then there's like fabrications. I mean, I get it. I get it. And, and you know, the funny thing is, is like them doing that, I think is more them realizing, look, Hugh Jackman wants to play some more. we can get him to stay kind of on for a little bit and then find other unique ways to do it because it sounds like there will probably be like we had already heard they're still looking at a Deadpool for with him and Wolverine

but we've already heard rumors of a Deadpool and Spider-Man team up so then it also makes sense you might have another one over here with Hulk Warburne I mean all of these would be good things and duos would be great like what you're describing like I'd love to see you know things that feel like big moments that don't have to have 35 cast members.

Like, I love that. So, yeah, I'm all for it if it's true. Absolutely. Like, I mean, like, to that point, there would be something really fun about, if not full movie. Like, I would love for them to do the same thing I was talking about with, if you want to see what the other Spider-Man have been up to,

give a 90-minute movie to McGuire, give a 90-minute movie to Garfield. And what have you been doing? What have you been doing? How cool would it be if we actually got to, like, that comic thing where it's like, and in this issue of Captain America, Black Panther. And like Black Panther shows up for like a 90 minute little whatever. And they're doing like a 90 minute movie.

And then you have a movie for Dr. Strange. And it's a 90 minute movie and he teams up with Blade. And then you have a Spider-Man movie. And it's a 90-minute movie. Like the idea of you give us an amalgamation of you went to the comic shop and you read all of the trades, all of the issues that came out. And it would be. And in this one like you used to see on the little panel up at the top,

this one features Spider-Man and the thing and, you know, Deadpool. I think if we can get budgets more reasonable, that would have been a really cool thing to do as special events on TV on the Disney Plus. I think if we get the budget reasonable, it would be a good way to have more sustainable stuff in theaters. But you know what I mean?

Like, it would need to be in that 100 to 150 range, not in that 250, 300 range. Right. So if you could do that with two characters. Now, obviously, Hulk is not something you can do a low-budget version of. But, like some characters like you're describing, I would love a road trip comedy with Spider-Man and Deadpool because the dialogue is the fun for me. So like, yes, please.

Because I'll tell you, for all of the, like, I understand people not liking She-Hulk, I personally did with the exception of the ending. But I think, for example, what I kind of described was literally the episode with Daredevil. He kind of like popped in almost as if it was like a She-Hulk comic and was available just for that one issue. And then like, discipline, like, okay, peace at the beginning of the next issue. And then that was it. Like, that to me is the way you want to be using characters that kind of flow in and out, especially in, like you said, the TV element of it.

I think that that's how you stay close to your comic lore, but make it, you know, a visual medium outside of, like, you know, well, obviously comics are a visual media, but you know what I mean, like a movie or a TV show. But either way, I'm curious what y'all think, would you actually go and see a Hulk and Wolverine movie? Is that something that you would get excited about? or it's just it's a rumor like Koi said, who cares? Like that, why are you reporting this? I only got sassy because this one felt like it came out of nowhere and got tons of people like thinking it was true.

I'm okay with rumors being reported as rumors, which is why I'm okay doing it here. Like we talk about rumors. My problem is the internet, they cut out that first word rumor and then it's everywhere. And then all of a sudden people are asking where that movie is and it's not Marvel's fault. It was never real. So it's just that needs to be. context. Well, that's the thing that's wild to me. You can talk about whatever said rumors and get hype about stuff all you want. If you do not see an official release from a studio, stop it. They're going to do a crossover because like that was so good and the Pirates movie good and they all do martial arts. It's going to be crazy. That never happened. It's immersive. Gladiator's a great sword and sandals pick. It's not like the gravitose of the first one. But like it's a fun movie. It's just hard when the first one is like, best picture. And the second one's like, a good time.

Very different vibe. Whereas Wicked like really got me, man. I was impressed. Dude, I'm actually excited about it. Like my family was like, oh,

let's go see Wicked yesterday. I wanted to see it after dinner. And my problem. was, is I have a friend who is obsessed with musicals. And so her birthday party on Saturday, she rented out of private theater to see it. And I was like, even if it's good, I'm in that age now where I actually struggle to watch movies more than once. Like, I can't necessarily do.

I have to be head over heels obsessed with a movie to do it at this point. I think part of it might be with the fact of what we do for a living. I have to watch so much content. I don't think I have it in me to rewatch things unless I'm like, no, this is flawless. So like the only movies in recent memory that I went to the theater multiple times. Oh my God. What was the last bond? No time to die, right?

Oh, wow, a while ago. It was a while ago. And that was because me and my dad, we just watched Bond films. That's like our thing that we bond on. And I wasn't going to see him for a while. So I went to, ha, ha, ha. I didn't even hear it. Jesus.

So I had seen it already because I had to again for work. And then when I went home for the holidays, like my dad and I went. go see it together. And then other than that, end game, long time ago. I saw Deadpool 2 multiple, Deadpool 3 multiple times.

Like Deadpool 3 is so rewatchable. Top, Top Gun Maverick. But yeah, I didn't, I didn't see, and Wakanda forever. But I saw Dune 2 thrice.

I love Dune 2. I've spent like seven hours in that movie. Dune 2, 1, oh, I guess Barbie. Not, not, not, not necessarily on purpose, but I saw it. Like, not because it's bad. It's, it's very good.

But, like, two different groups of people. And I was like, you know what? It was funny. I'll go, I'll go again. So I've seen that three, I saw twice in theaters and once at home. I am excited for NOSFratu, that answer that question. I hope we get to, like, out there's a press screening before Christmas because I want to make my, I want to do a top movies of the year.

But when I look at stuff like Mama or It or the things that are Andy Muchetti, I think of the fact that The Flash had seven directors, five sets of writers. around the same time as Grant Gustin like it was in that long of a production Wow really? Yeah dude like it was like within a couple years of each other So like the Flash took You know every director coming and going and writing So I don't even know what Andy was handed Was he given like show Bible written in like paper

Like he would be able to direct this movie, but he would have his figy at his back to make sure that the movie plays out how it needs to. So I think that he'll be fine if he genuinely, you know, if you genuinely is out of it. here in these streets doing the movie the way that Gunn sees it, he'll keep the role.

As long as him and Gunn don't get in an argument, he'll keep the role. Well, as long as the idea that he positioned for him to get the job in the first place, maintains the plan. Like, to me, it's not like going to the principal's office. To me, it's like staying on the same page with the universe that, you know, we wanted to make. But typically, like, I think about since we were kids, like, yes, that original X-Men cartoon and that Spider-Man cartoon that were the Saturday morning stuff was really good. and there have been other good Marvel stuff, but it would be what just happened?

Like this came up like three weeks. I haven't thought about this comic since the 90s. This is a mid-80s comic. I want to say like 85. Like this is a, this is a deep cut and decades ago. But this just came up in a conversation when I was at, there was a pinball comic signing block party.

This place called Revenge of through a block party. And it was like Comic Con, but just the comic part. So it was comic writers and artists signing. There was no, you know, crazy movie announcement or anything else. It was a comic store having some of the biggest names in comics do a block party.

And it was at a pinball place. It was so dope. But at this party, I was at, this came up. And I hadn't thought about this in decades. And now it's funny this is coming up again. I have read it. It would make a great movie. But I don't know who even would, what market there is for that.

If X-Men does well, maybe they'll do stuff that feels like that. And this would be something that have licensing for. We'll see. Yeah. Look, I have not read it. But that reminds me a lot of. of attack on Titan, there's way more involved in an attack on Titan, but even knowing that to obtain powers, you're now on the clock.

You got about four years before your body fully deteriorates and you die. So like I, that sounds interesting to have that presented in a slightly different way here. I honestly would find that pretty cool. So I have to check this book out. You said it was made in the 80s? Yeah, I want to say 85, maybe 86 and it ran like three years. So it's really approachable. It's probably like 30 issues.

It's not long. Yeah. All right, I'll have to check that out. And it's super like stylized. And it feels like the 80s. It feels like that like fun, not too much continuity, trying to tie everything together era. Like I recommend it.

It's all conjecture and hearsay. James Gunn got brought on to a universe that is new. He has nothing to do with the old stuff. As far as I know. So, therefore, I don't think we should blame someone who is doing a new universe for the past that had nothing to do with him. That doesn't, that's like being mad at, you know, someone in your grandparents high school class for the grades you got.

Yeah. No, I agree with you. And I, I can understand where people would be concerned. I would be more understanding of that for people that maybe aren't directly tied to this a lot, where they might continuously, like, kind of go back and forth as far as, oh, they did fire, that they didn't fire. I don't follow this very closely, so I could see maybe they're just getting rid of it. But the difference is, you got to remember, Superman, for all it's worth, yes, you know, Batman v. Superman did, while critically paned, did decent at the box office. Man O'Sail did decent, but that was such a long time ago.

And the Justice League stuff, even the Snyderverse, I mean, the Snyder cut stuff, just really did not pull the way that they needed it to, hence why they were winding it down. So I think it was just this idea of like, look, we do want to start with Guns universe and all that kind of stuff. He's doing something different. They inadvertently pulled the trigger too quick because they really did think that Black Adam all of a sudden would reset things and bring all that in. And that's why you kind of tease it. They did him dirty. Let's not, let's not, let's not lie about that. They did him dirty.

The same way that you see Fygie helming the MCU and he cares. You see gun helming the DCU and he cares. You need people that are running it, not just a studio exec being like,

Dragon Ball is the biggest thing in all of Japan. We're going to make a live action, do it, you know, whatever, and just throw it to whoever and then just do casting that doesn't make any sense. You need people that, like, no, I have been eating, breathing, sleeping. Like, as a matter of fact, I need to learn how to direct. throw my hat in the ring, I will make you a Dragon Ball movie, dude. I care about that stuff so much, but that's what you need. And it's clear when you look at One Piece, you put, there was heart and soul put into it.

So I think that that's all that's missing. You, there have been plenty of examples with like, American superhero stuff. I think of, like, while we may enjoy the nostalgia of Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. Kiss by the road. You notice how it wasn't taking that seriously until Batman begins happening. And all of a sudden there's a massive shift. And then Iron Man happens. And there's a massive shift.

You just need somebody to prove that you will make a quality storytelling out of this and give it the true TLC that it deserves. And then it's on and crack it. And I think probably the easiest one to dive in for that. It might be better to tackle full metal alchemist first, I think. than DBZ or Naruto per se. But if you start there, because of the character development that happens, as well as the great fight teams and stuff,

And I think One Piece might, when we look back, we might see One Piece as, like, we look at Blade or X-Men, where it's like a shift in the pop culture acceptance and awareness. I think, you know, Superman is the first thing that happened in 78. But it took a long time until we got to 89, Batman. And then it took a long time until we got to Blade and all these things that are the more modern adaptations of it. But I do think DBZ has an advantage because there's a lot of DBZ visual language used in movies already. Like if you watch Jet Lee and Jason Statham's the one, it feels like Dragon Ball Z. So like there's a lot of DNA already out there that we could like reference. So I think DBZ, as a very approachable adaptation that would be good like an X-Men where like the language is already

there so audiences could accept it that could lead to Naruto and full metal and stuff. I fully think that it could be done exceptionally well. They just, again, you just find a passionate. I think like you then had to get creative with No Way Home to be like, oh, they appear.

You're right before. Right before they died is when they got pulled. That was a smart move to wiggle out of that. I think it's something that needs to be fixed for sure. And I hope that that's something that we end up doing is that they stick by the idea of like, no, you're going to jail. And then we'll come back around and have more stories to tell. I agree, especially with how much James Gunn focuses on his villains being, incredible. Like, look at high evolutionary. I really think he wrote Thanos's, you know,

Stone's lore, you know, he's the guy that really helped shape villains. Not only is that good for story, but it's good for this world building you're talking about. I think we need to have villains have long-forming arcs much like our heroes do. I think Lex Luther is one of the great villains in comic book literature, casting Nick Holt, and having that be a long-forming arc can lead to Legion of Doom and like those elements. So I do think that's going to be a factor. I think it's an element that he is going to be mindful of. I think if there's anything James Gunn is known for besides needle drops, it's casting. So if you cast a really good villain, that also gives you the opportunity to have this

long arc. I'm really confident in this universe. I'm very excited. So I'm less worried about that than most things. Elements that I would like to see. Zeta tubes, for sure. I would love, I would love, not just boom tubes, but like Zeta tubes as well. Oh, sorry.

It felt more like Big Bang Theory than community. And I'm more nerds making fun of nerd culture is spreading awareness of the culture. People making fun of nerd culture is punching down in.

nerds and Big Bang Theory always felt like it was people profiting off it. Whereas like community felt like it was celebrating it while like, you know, laughing at it. The franchise feels much more like it's profiting off of jabbing at my thing. I sort of get that, but I guess because it is such a stab at the industry as a whole, which is why it didn't bother me the way the Big Bang Theory did. Because Big Bang Theory, they would just throw a bunch of nerd words in a string together that didn't make sense. It'd be like, it was Barry Allen or fought Sauron, the dead the thigh.

And now to see Dean working with someone who I consider like a friend, Quaintance and Mason on something that means so much to me.

What I'm doing is I'm watching my calories, trying not to be either in a major deficit or surplus because it's easy to surplus, especially yesterday. But what I'm trying to do is strength train a little extra hard so that,

the caloric density is upped. So like my metabolism will go up every pound of muscle I gain. So since I know I can't lose weight right now, what I'm trying to do is get my metabolic rate upped by increasing mass. So I'm actually doing, I guess technically it's a dirty bulk, but I'm watching my calories so it's not fully dirty. But I'm trying to gain mass in order to lean up in the spring when I'm eating better by using the calories aggressively at the gym.

So I'm doing like two a days someday. Yeah, shit, I need to. Oh, Lord. Okay. Dude, I did not like how I felt over like a Halloween. I was like looking at my costumes and I was like, I'm not thrilled about that. No, I feel you, man.

It's so hard if you wait until January because everyone's in the gym and then you get frustrated. And then it's really easy to slip if you don't go every day. So I'm starting my new years now.

I've been at the gym every day the last five days. And that was even on Thanksgiving. I went to the gym before Thanksgiving. If I can do it now, I know I can do it in January. So I'm trying to start my year up now, and that's been healthy. It's the best to do it in this time. And I would say myself, like, I know that I deal with depression in general, but seasonal depression kind of compound stuff.

Getting active, moving around helps really clear your mind out. So if anybody is dealing with some holiday blues, I highly recommend if all you can do for the beginning is go for a walk, great. But if you can get out there and run, if you can lift some weights, If you can do a Zumba class or a spin class or martial arts, whatever, all of that, well, definitely help.
