With major questions surrounding **Batman: The Brave and the Bold**, the future of Wonder Woman, and the next phase of DC Studios projects, does Gunn's extension signal that Warner Bros. remains confident in his long-term vision? And how could the changing landscape surrounding Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount impact those plans? Starting point is 00:00:00 Lots of stories, lots of stories. And even though they announced this on Friday, Roka and I got to talk about it, man, because keep saying what's going to happen with James Gunn once if this Paramount thing happens? Well, James Gunn re-uped his contract. Roka, when I woke up out of a sleep. No, I'm kidding. But we'll talk about that.
Starting point is 00:00:23 We'll also talk about the fact that Spider-Man is now the number, what's it, number three movie? All time, which is pretty crazy. You see what that movie did. And I'll tell you, a movie that surprised me was Coyote v. Acme. Pretty decent, all things considering. And there's a big story that came out that a lot of you guys have sent me that was pretty relevant to what we have going on in this channel.
Starting point is 00:00:51 And the article, and well, the news broadcast, rather, it was just simply titled is Hollywood Losing and Stranglehold on filmmaking. And there was like a full video on it. And I thought it to be very fascinating, inspiring, and we'll discuss that. So it's me and John Roker here today. So let's get into it. It's a Christian Arloff show here on this Monday. Are you ready?
Starting point is 00:01:13 Sure. Me too. Here we go. Did you shit, man? Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the Christian Rola show here today on this Monday. Joining me on Monday. What's up, everybody? Is here.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Hello. What's going on, man? How are you? I'm good. I'm good. sports has started. That's what's good, man. College football started.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Baseball's in full swing. How about them, Yankees? I mean, talking about full swing. Yeah. I mean, that was so, that was, I was watching the, it's watching the game with my little one yesterday, and we were watching it. And it was just such a, just a pure beating.
Starting point is 00:02:00 And, you know, sometimes just, it's almost like the end of Braveheart. You go, mercy, mercy. This time it's like, more. Like Adam Driver. More. More. I wanted it to be like 50 to 1.
Starting point is 00:02:12 So every Ritzx fan that I knew would just pop up into a bubble and shake their head, sadly, knowing that the end, yeah, see? I just love that. I just love that we kicked so much ass that we pissed off the announcer of the Red Sox, that Will Fleming guy was like. You didn't see that part of it. Throw a baseball bat at him. You know, knock these guys out with a ball.
Starting point is 00:02:32 It's like, dude, it's a game. What are you doing threatening physical harm on an opposing team? I got to see that. From the radio booth, man. So dumb. So dumb. Pretty much. So anyway.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Good, man. It was one of those weekends and trying to keep up on what's going on with the account right now. You know, we have right now, if you go, and I'll bring this up. We have our Kickstarter, which we officially put, you know, the pre-launch on Wednesday. And not too shabby, John. Right now, what are you doing? cat. He didn't do that. He didn't do that. He didn't do that on purpose. That was me. No, no. It wasn't this fault. Um, so currently right now, we have, um, bringing
Starting point is 00:03:18 the word. Where is it? Hold on. Dude, congratulations, by the way. Andrew Fry. I mean, uh, what a legacy and a resume that dude has. So congratulations, dude. Yeah, Freed's a man, dude. He's, he's, he's really excited about it. And, um, but look, look at this. What we have, you know, oh, we're trying to get to 1500, right? now but the goal the goal um by the end of this show is to get to 1600 that's that's the goal um and i want to tell the whole deal of what we got going on for um and then i want to play this little video i don't know if you watch it john we watch a little bit i can watch a whole thing but watch some of it right um so you know the the i keep using the guild as an example and the guild
Starting point is 00:04:02 they had a really successful web show not 15 some years ago and then the Felicia Day who created it was pitching it to studios and they were saying
Starting point is 00:04:15 you gotta recast this person or do this or do that and do that she's like we don't live in those times really anymore she's like I'm gonna do this myself and so she's gonna make my own movie and get the audience behind
Starting point is 00:04:27 and really give them some stuff to really get behind and she put and her goal was 1.5 is what they they raised 6.8 in 30 days. Wow. Wow. They crushed. They beat the Veronica Mars record. And I bring them up also. Not only
Starting point is 00:04:43 Brett Sheridan will be in that movie, by the way. But not only do I bring that up because it's inspiring and it's a big story that's happened recently and kind of goes to what we're going for. But Craig, our guy, our Kickstarter campaign manager, he let me know that they had 10,000 pre-followers before
Starting point is 00:05:00 the campaign began. That's great. We start on the 22nd. We have almost, you know, almost 1,500. If we can, and I've been telling anybody, we need 13,000 people to put in 25 bucks. We make this show, right, the way that we want to make this show with Andrew's budget and everything that he, they put together a boardwalk. We're going to make, we're going to really good casting and everything. And I ask everybody that if you've ever watched this show before, if you've ever watched a review before, if we've ever made you laugh, if we've ever made you a debate, if we've ever, anything over the course.
Starting point is 00:05:32 of a year to 10 or whatever might be. Consider supporting this because what it also will do is not only for this, like, well, you know, I like what you do, but I don't know if I would have a 30-minute comedy, I don't care. Also think big picture. And big picture is the amount of passion that I have for this show, if you've seen my past projects, whether it's Shmowdown or Shmoh's no, whatever it might be. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:56 I'm going to put 100 and, you know, I'm going to put 1,000 percent, 2,000, whatever. whatever you want to say. I'm going to run myself into the ground, making sure that this is the best thing it could be. And I also want to make sure that it elevates the stuff that we're doing here, that my co-host get more
Starting point is 00:06:16 opportunities for being seen on the show because that story will be it'll be a story. People will want to see what it is. You guys will be a reward of poor because you'll see from what you've done, you'll be able to bring this to a elevated state
Starting point is 00:06:32 Sam, who has been on this show and been my right hand when it's come to the reactions and everything too. And she is, I want to get her out of her job. That's what I want. And I want her to be full time on this channel. I want to be able to do that there's things that I want to do that if we get to this place, that maybe we can eventually do that. And not to mention the things we're doing with the Shmowdown and other things.
Starting point is 00:06:58 So I wanted to play this video that I, I can't even tell you how many fans sent this to me, John. I don't know if you saw any of it, but I'm going to play it for everybody to just watch snippets of. We're not going to watch the whole thing. But here we go. Check this out. Let me bring John up.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Me and John, okay, John's in there. You can see this, John? Tell me, let me sure you can hear this. You can hear the ad in everything? So we're going to watch the opening of this thing because it really doesn't. And it's relevant to the business in general, regardless of my project. and the things that we talk about all the time on this show, and John talks about it on the hot mic.
Starting point is 00:07:34 So, come on, ads. The future of money to others. Bloomberg, I don't know if they need ads, but that's fine. But I get it. Hold on a second. I thought it was prompted. All right, here we go. This is a story about democratization. From its humble beginnings in the late 19th century,
Starting point is 00:07:53 the American film industry has evolved into a $10 billion business, largely dominated by a handful of studios. the Warner Brothers and Universals and Disney's of this world. But now new technologies are changing that world, making it possible for just about anyone to create movies of their own. This video revolution is giving rise to a new generation of filmmakers, one growing up far outside of the traditional studio system. All right, now that's the first portion.
Starting point is 00:08:22 I mean, I need to go into one particular guy, but then I want to get to this part here. History by Storm. They start with immediate access to a... audience of over 2.5 billion users around the world. Accounting for nearly 14% of all U.S. television viewing, according to Nielsen, more than any other single platform or service. It is completely taking over the world. And the funny thing is, the industry just realizes
Starting point is 00:08:50 it that it happened over the last year. It happened five years ago. They just weren't paying attention. Alan Descerniol is the CEO of Film Hub, an online movie and television distribution platform. We're in this amazing era where it's up to the creative and the filmmaker to make that decision and choice to really own their own destiny. There's something there. Yeah. I want to get to this last part here, which I thought was really interesting. Because a lot of it is the film stuff. They go over obsession and everything too, what kind of obsession to hear you from.
Starting point is 00:09:20 But then they kind of lasted to TV. Without that funding and investment. The online explosion of video content isn't supplying new material only to cinema. It's also flowing into what we used to call television. Free video platforms that make their money from advertising rather than subscriptions. Free advertising-supported TV fast, as they call it, is something relatively new to me, at least. I may not have been paying attention, but where did it come from and how fast is it grown? It's been growing like gangbusters, and you say it's new to you.
Starting point is 00:09:50 It probably isn't because if you've been watching broadcast television, that's another version of free ad-supported television that's been around for almost 100 years. So free at supported television or fast is a very snappy name that's been put on the digital delivery of a linear programming feed, much like broadcaster cable have been for years, but this is digitally delivered. So on streaming devices like Roku. She just kind of dives into more about not traditional pitches that they get, but also, you know, the fact that the people that are out there, digital creators, the content that they're buying. And it's, and it just, it's like this, this couldn't have been sent to me at a better time for what we're trying to do. And it's why I've been telling the audience again that by following this project, you're getting past. People are the original content.
Starting point is 00:10:41 You see the same things over and over and over again. You see the same people over and over and over again. And if you look at what obsession did, you look at what backrooms did, you look at what iron lung. And I know people, and I always bring up Chris Duckman as well. ball too because Christop, you know, maybe he didn't make five, six, ten, 15 million dollars, but he made his money back and then some on it. And he still ran this platform and got his audience behind it. So it really is something that let's change it. Let's change the way that it works, especially with television, because there's this,
Starting point is 00:11:16 this is the story that I want to tell. I want, I want people to say, okay, look, this is now, yes, those people were paving the way in doing things and regards to the film stuff, this audience, the people that we talk to, John, can be responsible for us starting to shift and change into a scripted comedy. I mean, that hasn't happened yet. That hasn't happened yet. Not at the scale that we're looking at. So that's why I ask you guys again, if you have ever watched anything I've done, I've ever made you laugh, I've ever made you whatever maybe, please eat right now, not even telling you to donate. I'm just telling you to sign up because as like my goal is to get i've been saying 5 000 obviously want to get more than that but if we
Starting point is 00:12:02 can do 5,000 pre-followers um that to me would be pretty amazing and i would i would truly truly be humbled and appreciated so yeah um yeah and i even mentioned you know a lot of the stuff with uh with with with the shmowdown and the rewards that we're going to be doing for that so um but anyway so that's kind of that's what we're doing It's amazing, dude. Yeah, I mean, I watched the whole YouTube video because I said it early this morning. It's just fascinating to see how people with their creativity, not even anticipating, you know, what they can do or what could happen has inspired other people. Like you were saying, like you and others who'd like create this stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:40 And so it's like, you know, it just can, it's about paying it forward creatively for people. And so you've lined up some pretty cool people. I hope it all works out. I hope it gets to the numbers it needs to get to. And you have some fun making this thing. and it gets a lot of love from people who are going to watch it and who donate to support it. You know, it's really important as well.
Starting point is 00:12:59 So, yeah. That's the goal. So right now, I mean, when Jen was on, we hit 1,000. So I'm hoping when John's on today, we can do, you know, the goal of 1,600 today. We'll do it. I hope so. I mean, I'm not as attractive as Jen or as funny as Jen, but I'll do my best. I'll do my best.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Get us to a thousand. Come on. And we'll keep this, you know, like I said, if you guys can do that, and I'll put it on the replay as well. So let's do it right now. Let's try to get to at least 5,000 pre-followers before the campaign launches on September 22nd. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Let's talk about some of the stuff that was going on because as I mentioned, I think you and Jeff probably talked about it on hot mic, right when it came to James Gunn, re-op. Yeah, let's do a bit of clarifying here. Sure. So go ahead and set it up and then I'll clarify what the situation actually is.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Okay. Okay, so you know a little bit more. So let's see. Okay. So let's start with this one then. All right. DC Studios co-chief James Gunn is sticking with the studio. Gunn and Safran took the reins at DC Studios back in 2022 with four-year deals that were later extended by a year into spring, summer, 2027.
Starting point is 00:14:12 During the latest episode of the podcast, the hot mic, Scooper Jeff Schneider, was asked about Gunn's contract status. Warner Brothers was Snyder saying Gunn will stick around. He just extended. A recent report suggested that Gunn is among a small group of executive expected to keep their jobs following the Warner Brothers Discovery merger with Paramount Skydance. Snyder indicates that the report only became possible to publish because Gunn had recently renewed his contract. What's not clear is how long that extension will be. David Ellison has also said to be notably supportive of the direction that Gun and Safran have chartered for DC with Manit Tomorrow, Creature Commando season two, Clay faced the people versus gorilla rod and potentially booster gold all in the worst.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I thought that one was canceled. All right, John, you said that clarification? What's the clarification? Yeah, so here, first of all, this was in the middle of our heated battle over Ellison and Parabon. If you guys ever watched that section of the show and you love Jeff and I yelling at the top of our lungs at each other, that's the, you need to go watch that section. But near the end of the section, as we're moving on, I asked Jeff about the situation. And I said, do you believe he'll stick around?
Starting point is 00:15:20 And Jeff said, oh, yeah, yeah, he's extended to controversial. So if you see the video, I laugh when Jeff says it. Because I know Jeff wouldn't announce that casually on our show without telling me about it ahead of time so that we could sit with it and actually discuss it. What happened is people took that and ran with it and say that it was Jeff Snyder confirming that gun has extended it. So I texted Jeff. as this fervor was blowing up yesterday on or the other day, Saturday on social media Friday.
Starting point is 00:15:53 And I said to him, listen, Jeff, did you casually drop that gun extended his contract on the show? I thought you were just giving your opinion. I mean, if you did that, then let's not gloss over it next time. We should definitely stop and talk about it. And he said, I didn't hear shit. I thought I had read it.
Starting point is 00:16:10 It's hilarious. It was a tossed off aside. I wasn't reporting shit. I'm just repeating what I thought the internet had said. The internet is not. So I just want to clarify that on this show for people. Jeff did not report that James Gunn extended his contract. That was Jeff's speculation that he extended his contract.
Starting point is 00:16:30 And he tossed it off as an aside because he had read reports from other people that Gunn and said that Allison said he supposedly, which I don't believe, wants to work with Gunn and Safran through the merger, right? Which I think he's just saying that crap just to please everybody about everything. and I don't believe a word of it. So Jeff was not reporting that. So I just want to say that clearly on this show. There you go. I think all of that is obviously true, but I do think that he's extended his contract.
Starting point is 00:16:57 I'll tell you that. Why do you think that? Because I do think that when it comes to, I think he's had conversations with Ellison. I think that it makes sense to me that the conversations be like, look, you come in here, we'll agree on that you come in for another year or two, whatever the hell it is, get man in the tomorrow off the ground, get whatever it else.
Starting point is 00:17:20 They're going to talk about the A.J.R. Hona of it all with Wonder Woman, putting that into play and all those things. The A.J.R. Hona thing has started to become like married, what's his phrase, Jean Grey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, so, and they probably have had conversations about, well, this is our plan. Can we go for it? Yeah, go for it. And then we will analyze it when it's, when it's over and done with, which to me, if you're buying a property at first, would make sense as opposed to, well, I don't like the guy's political beliefs and, you know, it could go well. I'm just going to destroy the whole thing. Now, if he's going to do that, that's, to me, that's real bad business. But I think, I think they've had conversations.
Starting point is 00:18:00 I think he's going to have him come in here. I think he's going to do his thing. And I think him and sat front of every up. I, one, I don't think, I think you're downplaying things a little too much because this is not just, hey, I don't agree with your financial policies of life. Like what this guy symbolizes who's in power, what this movement symbolizes is a lot of abhorrent things to people in the entertainment business and the creative business. And so the fact that Ellison is connected to this guy, has catered to this guy, has bent the need to this guy, there are issues that can come up for you. This is not just like regular politics.
Starting point is 00:18:36 This guy represents a pretty horrific way to exist. Sure. And so James may be like, listen, I don't want to be in league in business with someone who's in league with this guy because in essence, what I'm doing by becoming successful is helping Ellison become even more powerful and connected to this guy and help this movement. So it may be that situation. So business or smizzness. Like it's about morality and ethics and principles. And maybe James feels for him that's a bridge too far. So I don't know. You might be right. They might have had conversations and hammered it out. Leave me alone. leave you do alone. Yeah. We'll see. But I think at this point, this is just Ellison saying, throwing everything at the wall to try to please everybody so you can push this murder through. That's possible too.
Starting point is 00:19:17 And he does not have to adhere to anything he says. Not a damn thing. Sure. That's very possible. But, you know, we also know we both agree that gun comments too much on social media. 100%. And he really hasn't commented too much about this, right? He hasn't said.
Starting point is 00:19:33 No, he, yeah. He commented on Peacemaker's season three over the weekend, but not this. and hasn't said, yay or nay about this. So that is telling, I think, because if he would have said, because if it was just an Ellison play, say,
Starting point is 00:19:47 no, no, no, we got them. We got them. Let's leak that out there and let's do that. Yeah. And I know what you're also saying.
Starting point is 00:19:52 You're essentially saying that he might have very well said, hey, well, we're going to do this, this and this, and then you can change this whole tune by the time he gets in there. And that's,
Starting point is 00:19:58 that's another thing altogether. But if it is Ellison leaking this thing, no, no, no, no, don't worry, James Gunn fans, we got him. James going to be the first one because he has this opposing view to say, we didn't figure anything out yet, guys.
Starting point is 00:20:11 But he didn't do that. So I think that it'll absolutely happen because the other thing is, yes, morally, they will probably be on the exact opposite side of things. But you know, as well as I do, don't take away the fact that power corrupts all. And when you're in that position of being the guy at DCU, and I'm not saying that it's just it's a corruption thing. I'm just saying the power is enticing.
Starting point is 00:20:40 And it's like, well, do I want to stand for this thing even though I don't know yet? What he's going to do? Maybe he lets me play and do my thing and leave me alone. Or do I just take off, say, forget it, can't do it. I'm going to ruffle this thing and just get out of here. I don't think he's going to do that. Yeah, I mean, over the weekend, I don't know if people saw this,
Starting point is 00:21:02 but those two people on the ringer, Sean Fennessey and Mada Dobbins, they were like surprised that there are chat GPT ads on the ringer and on their podcasts. And instead of taking a stand and saying like, well, I don't agree with this. I'm going to talk to Bill Simmons. I'm going to get off of this. We're going to figure this out. They were like, well, it wasn't our choice. So this is where you are absolutely right.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Right. Like morality, ethics and principles of a lot of these people in face. positions dissipates the second they actually have to take a stand and we've seen quite a few people do that that don't take a stand when they're called upon
Starting point is 00:21:44 that's why I respect the people who do speak out like Hannah or Ruffalo or others or even Kelsey Grammer or you know Gibson or others like whatever your political bent is if you're speaking out about it you're taking a stance and you're taking the chance to lose followers subscribers or fans or whatever
Starting point is 00:22:00 but you're following your principles Ruffalo is also in a very different position than James Gunn, right? Well, sure, of course, of course. Because Ruffalo could say, yeah, 100% of Ruffalo could say, hey, you know what, okay, maybe I'm doing this show with HBO Max right now. Maybe I won't be. Maybe I'll just have to stick with Disney or somebody else too. James Gunn's like, well, yeah, go back to directing.
Starting point is 00:22:24 You're not going to have your power seat anymore because there's not a people going to give him that power seat. Yeah, true, very true. And so, yeah, that may be the situation that he does. And maybe he thinks. A lot of people do think this, that I'll change it from the inside. Like I'll stay on the inside, make my movies that push messages. And like you saw in Coyote v. Acme, he's one of the writers on that movie that push certain messages. And I will make a difference from the inside.
Starting point is 00:22:50 So who knows, man? So who knows? But right now you don't know if your gut tells you that he has not signed yet. Yeah, 100%. I don't think he's extended. yet at all. They might have had talks, but I don't think he's extended yet at all. Okay. My God, my gut says that he did, but that's not to, that's not, who knows? Yeah, right. We don't know. Who knows? I don't. But what I do know, and I think everybody,
Starting point is 00:23:17 no matter what aisle you're on, can all agree that Randy Quaid is an absolute lunatic. I don't think you need to be on the left. I don't think you need to be on the left. I don't think you need to be on the right. I think that you just need to realize that this guy is on a spaceship somewhere. Absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, he has cousin Eddie did it to a thousand. I mean, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, to, him and Gary Busey doing a show today, doing a show would be absolutely, uh, on incredible, incredible. So the reason I even bring him up is because he reacted strongly to, uh, to, to, to this news, which kind of came out of, nowhere over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:24:02 On a Saturday. On a Saturday. So check it out. Days of Thunder 2, which didn't come out of nowhere. Right. We knew that was coming. We just didn't know it as like what.
Starting point is 00:24:15 What did was that Ann Hathaway, who's not stepping back. We thought she was going to step back after the five movies she's doing. Her and Tom Cruise did a little like, it was like an Instagram, TikTok video, whatever it was. But dig her right around.
Starting point is 00:24:30 on the corner. Tom Cruz has officially announced his next film Days of Thunder 2 which has added some major star power with Oscar winner Anne Hathaway joining the cast. I think you wrote this, John, about the age difference? Yes, I tweeted that out. We'll talk about it. Saturday, yeah, yeah, yeah. I agree with what you said.
Starting point is 00:24:46 It's official, Cole, trickle is back earlier this weekend. Tom Cruise officially confirmed his next film Days of Thunder 2, which is a sequel to his 1990 racing classic and reveal that the long-awaited action movie will hit theaters on June 2nd. 2008. In a full announcement video, he also revealed that Anne Hathaway has joined the cast as a team
Starting point is 00:25:06 owner and engineer who will presumably recruit Cruz's trickle to her team. So this is what's like the F1 plot. Yeah, very clear. Very similar. Further plot details are currently in the wraps, but filming likely won't begin for a few more months as Hathaway is currently pregnant with her third child. Jonathan Levine has been attached to direct. He did Warm Bodies, Mr. Relevant Longshot. I haven't seen any of those movies of you? Yeah, I've seen a long shot and warm bodies. Good films. Okay. Smaller films, though.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Okay. With a screenplay by Will Staples. Smaller films is good. I like smaller films as far as tapping that because it means you're going to focus on the story a little bit more. Cruz is also attached to produce with Bruchheimer and Tommy Harper. Bruchheimer's a vampire. We know that, right?
Starting point is 00:25:52 Bruchheimer's a goddamn vampire. That's probably very true. All right, so that's that's pretty much the big announcement, though. So that's a big announcement. Anne Hathaway, as you said in your tweet, you know, it might be misquoting you, but more so let's hope that she is the owner of the thing and not the love interest.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Yes. Because that to me, you know, I mean, Tom Cruise is 63, 64 years old, whatever. I mean, Ann Hathaway is, what, 40? 42. Yeah, he'll be closer to 70 by the time they actually start shooting this damn thing. So to me, I just, I tweeted out, how I felt like, I hope she's just a team owner and I hope so
Starting point is 00:26:31 year age difference. I hope that's not the Hollywood thing that they do because Top Gun Maverick was so good because Connolly was of the correlative age to Tom Cruise. So you could buy into that. And for guys like you and I who are a little older, like, you know, we see those relationships in our lives with people who are someone who's correlative to their age and their successful relationships. And so I think it would be fun to see that from Tom.
Starting point is 00:26:55 I mean, you remember, what was it, the mommy? That girl was like 20 to 25 years younger. They looked bad or American-made. It looked like he was with his daughter, married to his daughter. It was so weird and creepy, so I hope they don't do that. I don't agree with someone. Someone says the Hollywood age difference, it's fine. I don't agree with it.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Although it was crazy, though, and I said this to my wife the other day, we bring up Julia Roberts off on this show. When she did Pretty Woman, she was 22 years old, and Richard Gere was like 42. Yeah. And my wife said, you know, well, she just played older, though. She did. She had a different, she had a different, it doesn't mean it's right or wrong.
Starting point is 00:27:34 I'm just saying it played, she played different. And 22 to 42 to me is way different than 42 to almost 70. Yeah. Right. You know what I mean? Exactly. Yeah. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:46 But I mean, look, Tom Cruise doesn't, Tom Cruise plays a little younger. That is true. But who the hell cares? The fact that days of Thunder 2 is coming out is interesting. because I did see Eric Goldman, who we, who was on the Schmo down for a little bit too, tweeted out. And he tweeted out something,
Starting point is 00:28:00 yeah, I like him too. I just didn't agree with his tweet. And he said something along and he said, oh, who's really asking for a days of Thunder 2? It didn't do very well now. And it didn't do very well when it came out in the theater. And I was like, yeah, but that was 1990. And he said it did okay.
Starting point is 00:28:14 He said it did okay. Yeah. And that was 1990. That movie has grown in the, you know, lore of Tom Cruise and way, a lot of people have seen that movie now, not to the extent of like Top Gun. You can't compare Top Gun to Days of Thunder and I'm not trying to. But the nostalgia thing, if you do it the right way, with both Tom Cruise and Anathaway might actually be able to pull something off. Yeah, I think, look, racing is big again now, F1 and all that stuff is happening. People are NASCAR is blowing up in ways as well. And so I think there's a good, market to do this. I also think on the other side, like, I don't want to listen to nerds talk to me about alpha male sports movies and tell me if people want it or not. People want it. People want
Starting point is 00:29:03 to see this. Top Gun Map. A lot of people are like, who's asking for a Top Gun movie 36 years later? Why is he crushed? Yeah. Why is he not putting out on streaming? Why does he think he's going to make money all this in the theaters? And it made over $1.5 billion. So there is a market. I saw my brother Griffin Schiller saying the same thing on Twitter. I love Griffin to pieces. Me too. But like him saying like, who wants this? And I'm like, there's a lot of us who want this because this is our nostalgia. Don't count out the race car audience.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Yeah, no, not at all, man. New generations. Don't count them out. Don't count them out. I don't know if Hathaway was the right choice to bring that audience in, but. No, maybe not. But she's talented and she's strong. Agreed.
Starting point is 00:29:44 But that's, you know, but that is, I don't think that is their intent. I don't think their intent is, and Hathaway is going to really bring in. more of the good old boys. They don't mean that. They have that. They have that with the cars. They have that with the sequel to this movie. Her intent is to get those people who weren't going to see the movie. And it's like, well, okay, they got her.
Starting point is 00:30:08 And so if she's going to play, if she's going to play the, you know, the owner of the team, then the question is, what is the owner of the team? is she like major league owner of the team? Is she like Javier Bardem owner of the team? I mean, I assume she's going to be the good guy. You know, she probably, and she's probably going to catch a lot of shit for being the woman owner or whatever too.
Starting point is 00:30:33 And, you know, and then. Yeah, and Cole will be on board and they'll probably, maybe, you know, maybe it's more of a, I mean, I don't know if it's this much removed, but I guess it could be. Where is it more of a fatherly type of figure? you know, who knows? Maybe, maybe.
Starting point is 00:30:51 I think, I think, there's rumors that she could be Duval's daughter or granddaughter who takes over the team and elevates the, which would be great. That's a nice little, I could do it. It would be a nice little connection. But I think it's, I don't, I'm not 100% on board with her casting because she's been in so many things. And I'm not the biggest, like, I think she's objectively a good actress. I just don't feel much when I watch her perform. But, I mean, you can't, it's a smart move. She's an Oscar winner.
Starting point is 00:31:17 She's hot right now. terms of her career. About to be nominated again. Exactly. And so, you know, you're taking advantage of all that. So it's a smart move by Tom and by Ann for her career. It's very smart, both sides. She's doing everything right now. She's doing everything.
Starting point is 00:31:31 So we'll see. All right, what do you guys make of it? Do you like the idea that they're doing this? Are you on the side of John Roke and Randy Quay that she shouldn't be in it? I'm just kidding. He understands that Randy Quay does not. Although I don't think he understands much right now. Anyway, put your thoughts in there.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Let us know what you think. Now, before we get into some other topics that we have lined up, I want to tell you guys about our good friends over a cash app, and then we'll be right back. Yum, num, num, num, num, num, no. Thank you. So welcome back to the show, and thank you to our good friends over at Cash app.
Starting point is 00:32:11 I'm excited to have them on board again. So go in the link in the description. Please go and check it out. John, last week, Chris Cart. Just beach out. Hey man, it was her birthday. Much love. Good.
Starting point is 00:32:22 But now you're already starting on hot as we are looking. People are already donating, looking it in there. And we, just an update for everybody right now, as we're approaching 1,500, we are at, I'm going to refresh right here. And we are currently at 1458. As I said, if you're in this, watching this right now and you are not following, I please ask you to do so. It's just a follow, right? It's not any financial commitment.
Starting point is 00:32:53 For me, no, this is just basically get notified and then you get to see when we, when we launch on the 22nd, then you see what we're offering. Because like, you know, this is, I'm putting everything into this done. Like it's one of the things like, I'll be honest. Like it's my wife even yesterday when I was checking in. I was okay, we're at 1,300. We're at this and she was going to be a long two months. I said, I said, yes, it will be. Because like this is this is the next step of this channel.
Starting point is 00:33:19 This is the next step of my career. This is the next step. Hopefully of everybody's career, what we can do here of the audience and trying to really push it forward here. And the thing is I'm going to push and hopefully that we hit this on because day one again for people who don't know. And I have the thing I have the graphic here somewhere. Let me make sure that I have it. I think you should let people know.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Like someone's asking, is it free to follow? Yes, it's free to follow. So go follow because it's free. You're not committing anything. You're not financially committed to everything. You're just following. So go following. You're just being notified when,
Starting point is 00:33:51 so when it launches and we are offering everything that you just, you just say, they just say, okay, here's everything that we're offering if you tend to back it. But there's no financial commitment by just being notified. And again, that's the show.
Starting point is 00:34:06 It's myself and Martine Pertory, who was going to be on the, she's going to be on the show on Friday. But as I, mentioned um the best but as I mentioned also um hey
Starting point is 00:34:21 the shmown fully funded in one day if we do it we'll bring back a 16 person tournament fully funded in two days eight person fully funded in three days just do a live event but if it's fully if it's funded in general we'll do some kind of shmown you know whatever it might be so so people know
Starting point is 00:34:38 um this plumsucker that you talk to over the weekend that you posted about who is this clown who thinks he can beat the outlaw. Who is this piece? I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you that so many people, so many people. Shut up!
Starting point is 00:34:55 Go ahead, yes, go ahead. I'm going to say that there will be a person that will definitely be revealed on the live stream that I do on the 22nd when we launch. I will be revealing quite a few people on that one. I hope I'm on that show. Well, I mean,
Starting point is 00:35:13 it's going to be all day. I'm going to send you a link. Hopefully you will. Do you want me just, let me just ask you now? John, you're going to be in the tournament if I do it? You know, it's customary to get on one knee. Yes, I will be in the tournament. Yes, that's my Hulk Hogan answer to Andre the Giant. How could you keep me from the tournament? If for no other reason, then to win,
Starting point is 00:35:35 and I can stick my dick through PLD's earhole and fuck his brains up even more, I would love it. I would love it. He'll have to count out at me for, a whole year if I win the whole tournament. I wouldn't even let him in to respond. Come on. So, you know.
Starting point is 00:35:53 That's right. That's what it smells like. That's what your brain will feel like after I'm done with you. But yeah, go ahead. But I did speak to someone else on the phone yesterday or two days ago and asked them and I was shocked when they said yes. Oh.
Starting point is 00:36:10 I was shocked. It sounds like Cushing. It sounds like Cushing to me. I'm just to tell you, I'm just to tell you, I was shocked. I said, oh, okay. And they're in. So, um, man. But we have, we have, uh, we have quite a few, um, options and everything.
Starting point is 00:36:26 So that's, that's the schmodeon aspect of it. And again, like I said, and whether it's the schmowdown, whether it's again to, the bigger thing, though, in the overall grand scheme of things is just saying to other people who make decisions. No, we're going to make those decisions. You guys are essentially starting. a studio because imagine here's the other thing i'll tell you for schmodeown fans and and for the you know the the major priority is trending and making the show but let's look big let's always think big let's think next picture let's say that not only do we hit that goal but we overperform and let's say big big picture we make a a whole season we don't even need to pitch out the pilot
Starting point is 00:37:12 Like we can make a season out of it, right? We can also start to turn the production company that we're really forming here to make this into potentially put in some fire to the schmodeown and bringing that as a show again. The possibilities are endless, but you've got to think big, right? Like I saw, you know, again, people who don't, they don't think big. And there was someone else who's like, well, why would we? would you promote the schmod out inside of this because you're not thinking big you're thinking reward for this to where you can you promote all of it at the same time because you say this is what we're
Starting point is 00:37:53 proud of this is what we're going to do this is the show we're going to make we all made this together this is our show and then we also have this other thing you have to think big and not just think of you know small things where does it go overall and that's kind of what we're looking so and you know people have been uh have been signing up john already so we're We've got currently right now, we're at 1462. Good year. So let's get to, let's get to 1500. That'll be the goal, though.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Let's do 1500. I was hoping for, I was hoping for 15 or 16 rather, but we'll do, we'll do 15. Let me tell you something. All of these people can say they want to be a part of it, the Shmowdown, the return of the Shmodeown. But none of them are going to train like I'm. going to train they're all going to be caught up in their stuff i got unfinished business with that show and so they can all commit all they want and talk all their stuff be excited but i know they're going to get soft and i'm going to get harder oh there you go well i believe it well let's get go
Starting point is 00:39:01 i will say i will say one thing though too i had a conversation with somebody else yeah outside of the one i talked about he was wanting some new blood in it too and i talked just one person and and and to which again, this person said yes as well. And I said, you know, you're aware of how the Shmodown works. And like, yeah, I used to watch Shmodon all the time. Nice. And I'm very aware. And then the person said, like, they brought up something.
Starting point is 00:39:27 If I gave this away, it'll give away the person might be. But so they brought up something. And I said, well, that's a, that's very different than what the Shmodown is. And then I, they said, well, I just want some real good competition. I said, well, you're going to get it. I said, you'll get competition. We got what you wish for. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:45 So people, people were excited about it. We just got to make it happen. And that's why I keep telling people to check it out and, you know, sign up. Yeah. Set up. All right. I'll tell you what. You talk about support.
Starting point is 00:39:59 You talk about something that's like, I didn't know how it was going to transfer. And if people, you put your money where your mouth is, you were saying before people did it for Coyote v. Acme, John. Oh, yeah. People did it. It wasn't a major, major hit, but it certainly did, you know, decent. So you got Catchup Entertainment's Rescue of the Partly animated Coyote versus Acme from the vault at Warner Bros. Discovery. It looks like it is paying off. The title drew in rave critical reviews and landed a stellar A cinema score, which led the newcomers this week at the box office.
Starting point is 00:40:32 The film was on track to debut in third place with 14. We'll have the final numbers in the second. In fact, by Sunday, it could jump in the second. It didn't. pushing the Odyssey, which is slated to take 14.6, awareness, which sadly is low for a film of this type, which I was not surprised about, but again, it handily beat the dog stars, which is not really a surprise. Yeah. The bad reviews and just, I don't know why that movie was in theaters.
Starting point is 00:40:58 And then Spider-Man Brand New Day, another 21 million, which to me, again, is really the big story, you know, because that movie has made $2.3 billion. it is now it overtook the Avatar way of water is now the number three movie I think just between behind Avatar and Titanic so or no right or it beat Titanic you beat Titanic I don't wait I think it's
Starting point is 00:41:24 Hold on let's see Double check I think it's a little higher yeah So I thought of if the ranking I thought was First is Avatar Second is Endgame third Third is Spider-Man 9 Avatar, endgame is 2.7.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Way of water is 2.3, and it's a brand new day. So you're right. It's just about to pass away of water. Did it? Right now, looking at August 31st, it says it's like $200,000 or a million below. Okay. It said that it did somewhere, but it's going to beat it. Even if it hasn't.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Oh, totally. It's going to be. Right. So it's now number three, which is an amazing. No one had no one had no one would have predicted that no no no no um the odyssey is another story again i thought this was going to tap out at 1.2 it's now 1.5 and it's still going still the number two movie it didn't beat coyote versus acme but coyote versus acme 50 million i don't know how much of an international audience it's really going to have um but even if it i mean how much is that money
Starting point is 00:42:30 the movie well i guess the question is how much did it cost for them to buy it from warner brothers right I mean, Wonder Brothers spent 70 million on the film, and I think ketchup spent 50 to buy it from one dollars. So, I mean, maybe, I mean, look, I don't know where they're going to put it as far streaming, but the dog stars ate duty. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:49 And then Insidious bringing in 110 worldwide, again, those horror movies. You just, yeah, you can do it the right way, especially on the IP. So, I mean, I still think, like I said, I think that the win for, I said this the other day in the show, the win for catch-up entertainment is this. One, it's the highest that they've had so far, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:10 But the big win is they're the good guys. Yeah. They're the good guys. They saved this movie. They distributed this movie. This movie was a movie that people loved. You saw it. You liked it a lot, right?
Starting point is 00:43:20 I did. I really enjoyed it. It was not dropped down amazing, like some of these people at the early screenings had said on social media. They clearly had a narrative to Bush. But I thought it was good. I thought there's a lot of fun, and especially if you're an old school looney Tunes person, there's a lot to enjoy from it as well.
Starting point is 00:43:38 So yes, you know, I enjoyed it for sure. But I also think, let's deal with the reality of the situation. It's not going to make its money back. It's not going to be a profitable film. So, you know, all these people who are trying to jump on it saying like, oh, see, nobody showed up, blah, blah, it wasn't about that. Sometimes, as you said so well, Christian, just a few seconds ago, Companies invest in movies because they know it brings them goodwill for the future.
Starting point is 00:44:06 You know, like people, these big companies invest in stuff that Scorsese is doing or these other filmmakers are doing because they want to keep working with that person, the prestige of it, right? In this situation, it was that Ketchup wanted to show that there is an audience for these kinds of movies and that people will come. Now, it may not be the astronomically huge audience, but there is. And the conversation is very much about now how this movie should have seen the light of day, Warner Brothers was wrong and blah, blah, blah. You could argue financials, but this was about kind of a message you wanted to send,
Starting point is 00:44:36 and I think on that end, catch up accomplished what it needed to accomplish here. It's exactly what they did. Yeah, and they got their name out there more. So, and again, they are the good guys, especially what this movie is about and everything else too. You know, the fact that the corporate versus, and Warner Brothers took the hit on this one.
Starting point is 00:44:54 And they probably, Warner Brothers should have, I know the debt and everything. should have released this movie. I mean, they should have, they should have 100% because they needed a good guy win. Yeah, at the time. He needed a good guy win. And to say like,
Starting point is 00:45:10 hey, you know what? We're actually going to support the creators here, but that's not, Zazzal doesn't give a shit about that. He has no interest. I'm telling you, his end game is, he really is like the, the Mr. Burns. You know, he really is.
Starting point is 00:45:26 He's got a plan. He doesn't care. he doesn't give a shit if it gets sold to Paramount or not because they're going to keep racking up money if it doesn't. You know? He's going to keep taking their money and then they can make their movies on Paramount's money
Starting point is 00:45:42 that they owe them. And then they're probably going to sell it off to other places. So he's, you know. Yeah, that's why I think Zaslob is like five steps ahead everybody else. Yeah. Even this merger thing, I think he's five steps ahead of everybody else. Me too.
Starting point is 00:45:56 You know, and so it's going to be interesting to see with the idea what happens. He doesn't care about the creatives and everything, too. You know, he should have given him a win, but what does he care? He's like, he would just, he would totally shelved that movie again. He would have totally shelved that movie. Yeah. What'd you think about Johns?
Starting point is 00:46:12 That blow up over the week. No, it was a joke. Leave Jeremy Johns alone. It was so, I said, people, people are using him in this example to try to throw things at him. It's like, he was, he had a joke. And it's like, and even fucking Kalinowski, who I'm going to give a shit to tomorrow. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Did Calnowski off on this? Yeah. What are you doing? It's like this to me It's like it's why stand-up comedians had problems in the audience with like when people were filming them and stuff too Oh yeah Ever watch Jeremy John's his his Channel
Starting point is 00:46:40 He has always had comedic spin And so he was laughing about a movie that he didn't like very much and put it There one movie should have been shelves there Supergirl and it's a joke Crack the joke and everyone's like oh let's make an example out of them and say where his channel's going It's like leave him the fuck alone Beat it I know.
Starting point is 00:46:59 He pissed me off, people are people who are probably up. This is why, this is, A, why he's not on Twitter and he's Teflon. He doesn't give a shit.
Starting point is 00:47:05 He doesn't give a shit. He's like, I don't care. He doesn't give a shit. He's going to be, he'll do his next video and it'll bring more people to his channel. Yeah, 100%.
Starting point is 00:47:15 He knows exactly what's happening and what he's doing. He's been successful for years to it. He doesn't give a shit. And he shouldn't. He's not going to respond to it and he shouldn't. There's a reason why he got off Twitter a long time ago. He doesn't care.
Starting point is 00:47:24 I agree. There's more people that this is more people who are aware of his channel now. Yeah, just leave him. Just leave him alone. Anyway, yeah, I thought that was stupid. I thought it was so stupid. I agree. I agree.
Starting point is 00:47:35 For the people to be upset about it is so ridiculous. It was, it was so dumb. It was so dumb. Like, it was beyond dumb. Anyway. Okay. So let's close out with this last story.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Okay. Let's do it. Because Doomsday is right around the corner, right? And so Endgame, they released that trailer and that trailer, what is that? Oof. How hell is that? That's Pacific O'Bear. I don't have some of that.
Starting point is 00:48:04 What the hell is that? Stupid. There it is. So the recent trailer for Avengers Endgame Encore next month, re-release of the 2019 Marvel Studio Stoodlead drew in 77 million views in the first 24 hours. That's four times the amount of any previous trailer re-release, including previous record. react. Yeah, listen, what did I tell you?
Starting point is 00:48:23 What did I tell you? What I tell you? Hope of seeing either some of the four minutes of new footage or tie-in new footage for Doomsday, likely drew a big chunk of that preview show. What did I tell you? And people are crazy to think this movie could make as much as 50, 60 million dollars, $100 million.
Starting point is 00:48:43 You're crazy. And I said, it's got a shot. If people go back and see it a lot, it's an outside chance. It's probably impossible. but if it hits 200, then the movie's going to make $3 billion overall. I don't know if it's going to happen, but it's not outside the, it's not impossible. The film was the second highest-grossing film of all time, the domestic box office until Spider-Man, brand-new day pushed it to third the other week.
Starting point is 00:49:06 It's going to beat Spider-Man brand-new day now, by the way. Joe and Anthony Russo have been touting the Avengers end game encore, and it's highly recommended as required viewing ahead of Avengers Doomsday, though it's likely the encore version will hit Disney Plus before June's day opens in December. Okay, so that's new news to me. I didn't know that, which is way better. Because if they're talking about how it's required viewing for people, but you got to pay for it, that's kind of, that's kind of,
Starting point is 00:49:36 people are going to go, eh, that kind of stinks. Now, it's one thing to say, hey, putting it in the theaters. It's an I'm actually, you can go check it out. And people go, okay, I'll check that out. But you can also watch them Disney Plus. Okay, well, do that too. That sounds fun, right?
Starting point is 00:49:49 You have Disney Plus anyway, whatever you, and you're watching these movies leading up to a lot of people have been doing that, then why not? So that to me makes sense. But this movie, this is going to be, and this is really Spider-Man's first big competition is the end game re-release. I think it needs to make like $130 million or something to surpass, what is it? Is it Rise of Skywalker or something? I can't. What is it? Oh, domestically, you mean?
Starting point is 00:50:20 Which one? Is that what it is? I don't know. There's some kind of, I figure what it needs to make to do. It's got, in order to be, no, in order to beat, um, uh, Avatar or, um, in order to beat avatar and be the number one movie needs to make $130 million. That's what it needs to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:36 Yeah. If it makes $130 million, then it's the number one movie of all time. If it makes like $200 million, it will then be, um, you know, the, it'll be the first $3 billion movie of all time. Now, that's probably unlikely, but not crazy. I don't think it's crazy. People are starved to go back and see this movie in the theater again. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:59 And it's right in that low period, right, where we're seeing all the artsy-fartsy films coming out. And there aren't too many tent pole pictures coming out. So I think people will come. And especially because you're giving new footage. And if you go to IMEX, apparently, you get seven minutes as opposed to the four minutes in regular version. So people are going to go and do that as well. So don't be surprised if we start to see like sold out IMAX screenings of this movie. If they do the 70 millimeter approach of this thing, it could be really interesting.
Starting point is 00:51:27 So to me, this is absolutely going to be a cultural event because Marvel fans have been starved for great movies. And I think people will want to go and see this and do the extra seven minutes and talk about it and all of that. So yeah, I think it has a real good shot at making a lot of money and maybe get into that $3 billion for sure. I mean, there's, and there's no competition for it, really, like big movies or anything, too, that at all. And if people are getting, it would also, it's going to be a very big indicator how Doomsday will do with how good this movie does. Oh, yeah, that's good point. Yeah, yeah. You know, because it's correlative.
Starting point is 00:52:06 Yeah. Now, this movie does. And I do think, now, what I don't disagree with, and Mike makes this point a lot, and I agree with it, that Spider-Man is a different animal. right because it's Spider-Man yeah but I do think there's something to the fact that spider-man got people excited to watch the Marvel cinematic universe again yeah like yes it's Spider-Man and yes we want to see how he does and the characters and all that but it's like oh this is I remember when you went see saw a brand-new day that's how you used to feel when you saw the first a lot of the movies within the face one two and three yeah and they're
Starting point is 00:52:43 like can you do that again with the next one and so maybe the next one, with it being this one, if they do it again, the one-two punch could really start something big, not only, you know, with everybody getting excited again, but financial for them. So. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:00 So we'll see. Yeah. I think so. Anyway, curious what people think. You know, oh, and PLD made a good point actually, too. He said... I can't be true. What it becomes questionable, though, is does the on- Does the Onco replace the original endgame version of the special editions? Like, so on
Starting point is 00:53:16 when you go to Disney Plus moving forward, do they just replace this one? You know? Oh, yeah, maybe. I guess will it become like Star Wars, the original versus the George Lucas edits? Yeah, maybe. I mean, if they're smart, though,
Starting point is 00:53:31 let you have both options, but, you know, maybe. It depends on what the changes are. Like, if the changes are so dramatically linked to Doomsday that it doesn't really change the movie too much, but it adds these scenes that lead you, You know, as you're, let's say you were doing the autoplay. And the auto play is like he keeps playing each movie that goes in,
Starting point is 00:53:53 um, in linear order, right? And so, right, whatever it might be. And then it, you get to infinity war,
Starting point is 00:54:00 you get to Captain Marvel or Antman. And then the next one is end game. What pops up there, it should be the encore because that's, if it keeps on playing, you're going to eventually lead to, uh, doomsday,
Starting point is 00:54:13 which will lead to secret wars, which leads these things that, you need, which they say, require viewing. So there you go. Yeah, I mean, that's the situation. And we don't know where the footage is going to be. Is it going to be in the middle of the movie, or is it going to be like an epilogue? And will it be a four-minute or seven-minute epilogue?
Starting point is 00:54:31 And that way, it's easier if you're going to put it on Disney Plus, you just add the epilogue to that version. So you can choose to watch the epilogue or not, but you still have the original film there for you to enjoy. I don't know. All right. So let's see, everybody. Let's see what you think. Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. All right. John, we're going to get to the questions in just a moment.
Starting point is 00:54:56 But before we do, tell you about, I know people have been talking about it. Some people excited about what's going on with endgame and Avengers. And I'll tell you real quick about this one. I have a question. I have two questions. First of all, thank you. Make sure you go and check it out. Please go and links in the description. I have two questions for you. For me?
Starting point is 00:55:17 Go ahead. Question one. Did you watch lanterns? I did. I loved it. I did a live reaction last night. That's all my channel. People can watch that.
Starting point is 00:55:25 I did not see it yet because I'm waiting for Sam. And she's been out of town. We're supposed to shoot today. And so we're probably going to shoot it tomorrow because she just wasn't, she exhausted, had to, did a bunch of stuff, got on the road, and finally got back. And she's like, I'm just beat any of the day. That's fine. We'll do it tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:55:45 So anyway, so I'm curious, but you really liked it because people kind of losing their minds. Yeah, some people on the anti-Walk, anti-D-E-I people are helping their feelings about it. Not that there isn't some legitimate chrism people can make about the show. There is for every piece of art. But I thought this was an exceptional episode. And it was the perfect time to drop it, considering the cliffhanger for the last episode, to do a flashback to give us this whole storyline with John. Stewart. The reason I say that is because we know Hal Jordan. The majority of the people,
Starting point is 00:56:19 we've had a Hal Jordan movie. We've had Hal Jordan as the main green lantern for decades. Not too many people outside the bubble of comic book people know that much about John Stewart. So they created a backstory for John Stewart here in this episode that I thought was phenomenal. And the performances from both the parents, the actors who played the parents were was stellar. And the direction and the writing were fantastic as well. So, and I thought it got us to where it needed to get us in terms of the mystery of John Stewart in the show. And now going forward, where are we going? And Laura Linney was damn good in the episode as well.
Starting point is 00:56:55 I like her a lot. Yeah, yeah. And that was, that was one of the important things. The more important thing is, did you watch Tom Hardy's rap album? Yes, I did. Some people are saying that it's actually not Tom Hardy, that it is a guy named Tom Hardy, but it's not the actor Tom Hardy. So I don't know what the truth is. It's 100% Tom Hardy, as they actually.
Starting point is 00:57:15 showed video of him from like 1999 also he's like he's a big raphead he's a big hip-hop fan huge and he's does it surprise you I mean yes and no like because there was such an unusual cat right that's why it doesn't surprise me
Starting point is 00:57:34 and he's also you know you know it's also he's also a like he's participating in like jiu jitzy tournaments and crushing people yeah like he's the guy There's really not a lot he can't do. And it's like, so I loved this. Yeah. And I listen into it.
Starting point is 00:57:52 I don't know. He took a shot of Kathy Bates. I don't know what about that was about. But it, but it was awesome. It was awesome. I absolutely love that. I'm so glad.
Starting point is 00:58:03 And that album, look, look, he's another exam. Okay. Now, he's got his, he's Tom Hardy. Yeah. He comes out and he goes, you know what? I'm going to do a rap album. It's not like matriman doing a rock album. It's like, this is,
Starting point is 00:58:15 like to which I do listen to that song at the gym. I'm not going to lie. Come on, hunkster, you coward. It's the best. It's the best. So when it comes to Tom Hardy, though,
Starting point is 00:58:32 he's just going to get the word out there because he released this thing. And everyone was like, whoa. Like, she has screw faces in the in the comments. I'm very curious to hear what he thought about it. No, the line was great. Wait, wait, wait, why does this? Screwface can't credit just because he's black? No, that's nonsense.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Screwface, what do you know about rap, man? Really, tell us the truth about. Are you kidding? We had the discussion about the bad rap beats. I'm just giving him shit. I'm like, you know, you know that's like his whole thing, right? I'll bring Urkel in here to find out what he thinks about the Tom Hardy thing. Yeah, you should.
Starting point is 00:59:05 No, no, no. I'm just giving him shit. Yeah, I, if it's him, man, I was ready to make fun of it and then I listened to it. I mean, first of all, it's method man leading the way and Frankie Pee and all these other people and I was like holy shit but he dropped those bars he dropped were fucking good I was ready to make fun of it I was ready to make fun yeah method man in there with him too yes right yeah yeah really good uh anyway yeah so curious what people think about that album um this week we got a lot going on as we had john on today hello tomorrow
Starting point is 00:59:36 roxy and mike uh Wednesday will be Winston Winston Winston's going to come on Wednesday instead Friday when still be on Wednesday. Thursday is the return of Kevin Smets and he'll be on with Chris Carr. And then Friday, Martini Peritori, my writer, partner, co-star of Trending will be on the show and we'll be talking about a lot of different things. So make sure you are watching this entire week. And as I mentioned again, trending is now, we're almost at 1,500. Looking right now currently at about 1468. about 30 away to get the 1500. Let's do that before the show is over. John, where can the good people find you as far as the channel everything as we're getting into these questions? Oh, that's me.
Starting point is 01:00:23 There you go. YouTube.com slash John Roken says my channel over there. Thanks to everybody who watched the live reaction last night to lanterns. I'm doing that every Sunday night right after the show's over, take about half an hour and kind of figure out what's going on, research some Easter eggs, and then go live and talk about it extemporaneously. So come and join me for those. We got to geek buddies. We're recording that tomorrow morning.
Starting point is 01:00:43 That'll be out. We've got spilled a tequila tomorrow night. Jeff and I, Hot Mike. That's going to be Friday night this week instead of Thursday night. Jeff's got some stuff going on. And yeah, and I'll be going live. Probably might go live tonight, to be honest. We've talked about a lot of subjects and things that happened over the weekend as well.
Starting point is 01:00:57 So come and join me on my YouTube channel. YouTube.com slash John Roka says the John Roker channel, please. All right. So let's get into it. We got a bunch of things to discuss with the questions. So here we go. There's Jen Sturger. Perfect.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Thanks, Pieldy. All right, there it is. Put it right up top there. No, that's not his fault. He put it as a second one. What's he doing? I just missed it because of my glasses. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:23 No, he didn't. He did what he was supposed to do. Okay, so Hank Pim, great to see Buddy making $5 million opening weekend. Seems like a movie you'd hate Harloff, but either of you heard of this movie or too many cooks. I've heard of it. 100%.
Starting point is 01:01:35 I've heard of it. Yeah, the marketing has been great. But Jeff said he didn't like the movie and he thinks it's not a Roka movie, so I might not see. Oh, you know what? I heard that when I listened to that episode when you guys were, oh no,
Starting point is 01:01:46 that was the episode. You are hilarious, by the way. You, I'm trying to, I said this. I was going to say, I told you I was going to give a shit when I, when you were on the show.
Starting point is 01:01:55 Oh, yeah, yeah, let's talk about it. I'm driving home. I was driving home listening to your show. Yeah. And I couldn't really, you know, I'm at a, I'm at a red light for like a second.
Starting point is 01:02:07 And I'm like, let me ask Snyder about the tournament. And I had to put a, a quick super chat and whatever popped up two bucks whatever it was and then you're like that's not all off two books all of those better than the drop two dollars and i literally put a uh like a ten dollar or or twenty dollar one right afterwards and i wrote and i wrote it is me suck my balls but they wouldn't let me do it but i just didn't have time i was like forget it that's hilarious yes but i did hear that yeah buddy is uh yeah buddy is um five is five million
Starting point is 01:02:41 And look, people, probably not for me, but there you go. Hank Pimp says, Roka, what's Harlow's best and worst impression? I don't, I don't know that you have a worst impression, but Arnold is your best. Arnold, like, Pacino, there are people who can do better Pacino's. Yeah. But I have rarely heard anyone do a better Arnold than you've done. Just the nuance to bring to it. And I'm not, and listen.
Starting point is 01:03:01 I don't kiss Christian's ass. No, you don't. Like, it's good. It's good. I say thank you. But to me, Joe Goddette is, there's no one better than Joe Goddette as, as, uh, Will Sassau's really good. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:14 He's really good, but Will Saso? Yeah, Saso. Saso is the one who's on Van Blee's show all the time, right? Yes, yes, yes. He's really good. He's not as good as Gaudet. Joe Goddette is the best Arnold. I got to find Joe's then.
Starting point is 01:03:32 Of all time. He literally did it to Arnold with like a puppet. It was so good. And he's called it in the show and did it. it's so good. So, yeah, and then like, I'm, I'm proud of my Bucce. I did, um, oh, you Bucci's, my Dumbledore. My Richard Harris.
Starting point is 01:03:48 Yeah, my Richard Harris, Dumbledore is one of my favorites. Yeah. Oh, God. Yeah. Yeah. You've heard me. You heard of my Richard. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:55 Yeah. So, um, yeah, I'm trying. As far as worse, I just, you know, it's, I don't really try them. I mean, I don't really continue them if I know that they stink. Because I, I used to try to do walking, dude, because everybody else did. Oh. Because I had this, I had this bit. .
Starting point is 01:04:10 And apparently someone. else another show did do this bit i was but i was speaking of andrew fried i used to always make them laugh because i was like it would be so great to do a sketch of like a walk-in closet right but it's but it's christopher walking when you open the when you open the thing and he's just like it's cold outside put on a sweater it's like you know it's just like um that shirt was so 90s get a new one and it's just like you just have them but it's actually christopher walk and standing there handing you like sneakers and shoes and everything too um um A walk-in closet.
Starting point is 01:04:42 But anyway, well, thank you for even asking that, Hank. I appreciate it. Ralph! Me. Watching New Hope and realized the death of Obi-Wan is a copy and paste of the death of Gandalf. Old Wizard dies helping friends escape. Classic Lucas. I mean, he did a lot of those types of things.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Yeah. You know? Yeah, I don't know. Getting upset about this like five decades later is a waste of time. But there's tons of movies. I mean, you pull, you, look, you pick apart Dune Star Wars took the majority of this stuff from doing. He loved the Franklin stuff.
Starting point is 01:05:16 Let me tell you, let me tell you what Token was influenced by. The Bible, because Jesus Christ was essentially a wizard, died to help his friends, you know, come on, get out of here. You know, it happens for sure. Escape sin. Yeah, he's, you know, he picked in, a lot of these things picked and chosen in homages. So, Ralph, I know you have a schedule with Sam, but you always sneak in a movie, sneak in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She loves Leo and Brad, Cliff Booth coming November.
Starting point is 01:05:46 You know, that's another thing I heard Roca and Snyder talking about. It is a bit concerning. We didn't even have a trailer for a new trailer. Oh, yeah. For that movie. And then I guess Snyder said that he heard that Tarantina's not loving the movie. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:02 I'm not surprised. You do, you know this. We've been in the business. You've been in the business longer than I've doing it coming and stuff. You get a six sense of things. and you're rarely wrong. I knew dog stars was going to be dog shit.
Starting point is 01:06:13 The second I saw the first trailer, no surprise to see the box office. This thing feels a little, I mean, I feel like it's in trouble. I really, I also think the Narnia thing's in trouble too. Go ahead, yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:25 But here's the difference. Isn't that a streaming movie? Yeah, but they spent $250 million on that movie, and they're going to put it out in the theaters for, I think three weeks. She fought to get it out for three weeks. Well, that's Narnia. That's Narnia.
Starting point is 01:06:39 That's what I'm talking about. But the Narnia. I'm talking about Booth. I'm talking about both of them. I'm talking about both of them because they're both Netflix. Sure. But Booth is in a theater movie, though. Yeah. Booth is going to come out in the theaters on IMAX. Oh, is it? Yeah, but it's only going to be for like three weeks or something like that. I don't think that's, I don't think it's going to have a lot of success there.
Starting point is 01:06:55 But I think it's going to do very well on Netflix, regardless of how it is. Oh, sure. Yeah, yeah. I think it's going to be a good movie, dude. Yeah, that's a different conversation for sure. All right, let's see. So the answers, I don't know. I mean, if I go to see any, if I see that movie with anybody, it'd probably be Ming, because he had watched a lot of Tarantino stuff with me. Okay. Nathan Drake with the best picture on the internet.
Starting point is 01:07:19 The second half of Coyote versus Acme was really solid. As usual, the cartoon steal the show. Coyote and Roadrunner were great. Forte was just okay. You agree? I got to agree with it. I'm not, I'm not a forte person. I think he's a good, I think he's very funny on SNL.
Starting point is 01:07:33 But I wasn't last man standing. I'm just not, I'm not the biggest forte guy. But I thought he was fine for the movie. But I thought Lana Condor was good as well. But yeah, the cartoons still of the show. And Wiley, making you sympathize with Wiley, I thought was amazing. Smart. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:51 You know what? Did I ever say a story when I convinced a few people in San Diego Comic Con that Ken Napsock was Wolforte? No. You did that? Yeah, because he was online and I always told me to Wolf Furtier, but I was like two back. And I go, I'm like, nudging.
Starting point is 01:08:08 in front of me, I go, dude, Wolforte. And he's like, yeah, I was like, well, I'm going to go, I'm going to go, I'm going to go, I'm going to go, and I go, like, well, well, and I'm going to do a picture or whatever to him. And then another guy's come up to him and they start asking them to take pictures. Pretty stupid. Ron H. Happy Monday, Ron H. Super Chatter from the old port of Montreal, getting all weird with the international tourists here, especially the ones from the U.S. going to change from the tourist tariff, just kidding.
Starting point is 01:08:31 Fair enough. Go team. Thank you, Alex. Alexis. Excuse me. Ron H watched Coyote versus Acme over the weekend. I enjoyed it. I even teared up a bit to all of you and honestly,
Starting point is 01:08:42 Fook de haters. Every day you wake up is a win. It's true. You still hear a win. You like coyote. See? Yeah. Look at that.
Starting point is 01:08:48 Ron H. I love it. Inspiring here. Tyler Fife for any chance for a Lord of the Rings cinefiles would generally love a deep dive into your opinions. He really hates them, especially because they're unpopular, respect it. Yeah, we've talked about it for the last five years.
Starting point is 01:09:02 I think it's coming. It'll be, we'll do one. a year. So I think we're going to make that decision in the new year. We're pretty much booked for titles for the rest of the year. So look for probably announcement in 2027, starting with the Fellowship of the Ring. But it'll have to be like, is it going to be the extended edition or the original? So we'll have to figure that out. But right now, we just did part one of the searchers, which is up on the channel, up on the podcast stream, if people want to listen to that. But yeah, it's coming. It's coming time.
Starting point is 01:09:32 All right. Let's see. Next one here. Ron H., hey, I can use a job with the Cristinolars show. Maybe I can be a mascot. I'll keep my pants off and everything. Well, you're in trouble for that. Fook ads. I mean, ads are okay. See, I can help.
Starting point is 01:09:44 See? Yeah, perfect. Yes. Ron, I feel like if we had you in charge of a Kickstarter, we'd be sitting at about three followers. You, your car and Roka. Oshia Matsu, 30 Jules, flour, floating heart. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:10:02 Ron H. Fun fact. Old Port has Montreal Science Center. The center has a true iMacs scream. Of course, it's sciencey shirt films. No Odyssey here. Here in Canada, we listen to science, hence the year. I like those sciencey films on the IMAX though.
Starting point is 01:10:14 Me too. I used to see this one. I used to go to the museum and stuff all the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. First couple of I max things I really saw. I think when I was at, I went and I saw this thing about the macaroni penguins. I'll never forget it.
Starting point is 01:10:27 It's macaroni penguins. And there was this guy that, you know, I ran way before the Shmohdown. I ran a boxing league in Florida State. And one of the guys who fought, he did, I saw him doing this weird dance one day, like randomly. And I'm like, he looks like a macaroni penguin. So I deem that he was his nickname when he fought was the macaroni penguin.
Starting point is 01:10:52 Timbino, 17 years ago today, Disney announced they will acquire Marvel. How do you see Marvel grow with Josh Tomorrow at the helm? Well, the helm of Disney, right? I mean, look, we'll have to see how he, I feel like he's going to be a little, I don't want to say hands off, but maybe I should. And or maybe less involved. I think Bob Eiger started getting a little too involved. Yeah, he's very handy. A little too much, right?
Starting point is 01:11:22 Like, so I think that the, and I still think Iger did a lot of great things. He's a lot of great things. But, you know, after you're that, you're part of it and you're doing it that long, you start to go, oh, maybe you should listen to everything I say, and then it just doesn't worry. I still think like the solo flub was as much. You can say whatever you want about Kathleen Kennedy. I always blame him for that when it came to the releasing it in May,
Starting point is 01:11:48 right behind the last Jedi and then a month after Infinity War, you were sending it out for its doom, you know? 100%. So this guy might be like, look, let me just, let's, Let me let the creators trust me, but he's also got to show that if those creators aren't doing the job, he's got to be able to reach in and say, no,
Starting point is 01:12:10 try this instead and maneuver around. So he's got to have some time to grow. Yeah, absolutely. It's just Ryan, 91. Broker, where'd you get that shirt as a vet and a huge college football? I love it. Yeah, I grew up Catholic, so, like, you know, Notre Dame was, like, just instilled in me
Starting point is 01:12:30 from a young age, so I've always been a Notre Dame fan. And they have, they had like this, Fanatics has a military run of stuff and having served. I always love their salute to the military gear. And so this was a few years ago. It's on Fanatics. I don't think this is available anymore. But like they do a new version of it every year. So you find it on Fanatics if you want.
Starting point is 01:12:51 OTH, I think, is what it's called. Yeah. Okay. I'm a college football fan. I got it. I got it. Yeah, yeah. Greenie Fremont is not surprised about alternate creators rising. Interimitarian industry is fairly biased to left-wing views, so inherently it's cut off half the population from getting involved
Starting point is 01:13:08 via the traditional way. No, but that's not that... The entertainment is fairly biased. Oh, I see what they're saying. I see what he's saying, though. I understand, though, it is... I mean, it's very... It is definitely more left-wing, the Hollywood system, though.
Starting point is 01:13:24 What's left-wing? What's left-way? What's left-way? Caring about people? No, no, no, no, no. Equality with women, equality of people of color. Wait, wait. No, what I'm saying is this.
Starting point is 01:13:34 What I mean is that what does happen, and I think that you can agree with this, is that it seems that if you don't, if you're not on the Democrat side of things or left side of things, whatever it might be, whether you, whatever your definition of, is it, John, that if you're on the right side of it and you make that clear, the opportunities don't come the same way. And you look at some of the people who have had their opinions known, whether it was, you know, Stallone, other people, whatever, me too, when they reach out. Like, they're not as upfront about it because they feel like they get hit from. I mean, look, Zach, Zach, what's, Shazam is a different scenario, right?
Starting point is 01:14:18 But I'm just saying. You have to be talented. And yeah, look, Schwarzenegger, you're from the beginning. No problem. But he doesn't talk, but doesn't talk about it as much. he went he went and did his thing but he didn't talk about politics at all until he ran for governor no because people buy shoes like a like a georgeman said right so but that's my point but this idea that hollywood's been left away is actually a fallacy it's an utter fallacy really because many people
Starting point is 01:14:43 who worked in hollywood yeah were all we're secretly republican secretly conservative because you're making my point a lot of the people who well the point that what i'm saying to you is that yeah maybe they didn't want to come out about it right the idea that hollywood's been left wing is is It's actually never been true. Never been true that Hollywood's left wing. Not at all. It's very much driven by finances and business, which is a conservative thing in financial business.
Starting point is 01:15:06 That's definitely true. So they see that movies that cater to equality cater to accepting people for who they are and not judging by the color of their skin or where they come from. I think that's a different conversation, though. But I think that's a different conversation. Those are considered left-wing points of views, and those movies make money because they appeal to a majority of people.
Starting point is 01:15:26 What right-wing movement movie. And I would argue there have been right wing movies through the decades. What do you call all the religious movies? Ben Hur, Ten Commandments. You could argue right wing movies. All the war films that came out were successful. You could argue right wing movies. So I think it's a, I think a
Starting point is 01:15:41 dunderhead thinking, and someone who hasn't analyzed the history of Hollywood, to believe that the history of Hollywood is just all left wing. That's bullshit. There's been a good mixture of right wing and left wing, which is my thing. I don't think that you're wrong when it comes to, as far as points of view and maybe
Starting point is 01:15:57 conservative movies and things of that nature is out there. I don't disagree with you. I think there's a lot of the stuff that's out there for sure. I'm just saying that you, if you're in that system, if you have left wing points of view, and I'm not saying whoever's points of view are right or wrong. I'm just saying that it is easier for you to tweet about it, not getting trouble for it, if it's a left point of view, as opposed to if you have a right point of view. Just like if I was a member of the Republican Party and I started tweeting out Democratic points of views, people will go after me
Starting point is 01:16:29 and tear me apart. Sure. Did we not just see Fox News? People on Fox News unfollowing jelly roll because he dared to make a joke about Trump's wake. But both sides. Right, but it's the whole thing has become, and I've said, you've heard me say
Starting point is 01:16:46 this a billion times. Yeah, yeah. Teams, right? It's all teams. Like, if you speak to it, you can't even speak again, like, if you have, this is why I hate it for people who always ask me. I'm like, I'm, I am neither. So people who wonder, what was it? I'm neither. I hate them both. I hate them both because, because it's teams. And the thing is, like, you can't, if I said, you know, all right, I have, I'm, I'm a lot of, all these views that everybody has on my team. And like you said, and then I speak out against my team,
Starting point is 01:17:16 for one thing is I don't agree with it. Well, then I'm against the team and I hate the team. And I don't know, because I have one opposite point of view. It's the stupidest. It's the stupidest. thing ever. I agree with you. Yeah. I agree with you. I know you. I know you do. I am not about the teams because there are some Republican policies that I think are effective for our country. And I think there are some Democratic policy effective for our country and independent policies. They're effective for our country. My biggest problem with both. Yes. And the problem that has had it that has infected both is extremism. That's the biggest.
Starting point is 01:17:45 That's the biggest thing on both on boldly. The extremism is just that's what forms these teams. and the extremism has been gross on both sides. But that's what I mean. People in the chat say, Hollywood's left way. You're just buying a talking point without doing any real research. Conservative people started Hollywood.
Starting point is 01:18:03 You know, financial business people, conservative people started these studios, right? And there were a lot of conservative movies that were made around that time. Love religious movies that were made around that time that were successful, right? And so it's been a mixture of both. But it's just an arena where left-wing points of views
Starting point is 01:18:21 can have a bigger megaphone and they result in big box office. So you can make right-wing movies. They've always been right-wing movies. Yeah, I get it when it comes to that. Sure. Ronnie, Gen X-Kid. That's not Ryan.
Starting point is 01:18:39 Saluting Peter Cullen, your voice raised and became the heartbeat of generations, voice-defined childhoods childhoods for millions forever later. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Armada. the ringer, big picture, really Scott ranking was crazy.
Starting point is 01:18:53 I know you guys aren't crazy about the counselor, but they put that in the top 10. Who in the world put, no, they did. Fantasy and Dobbins, I don't listen to them anymore. It's like attention seeking people.
Starting point is 01:19:03 Is that just to like get people to talk about it? Yeah, of course. Remember we were a collider. They used to do that too. Yes. Those articles, they used to do that all the time.
Starting point is 01:19:11 Because they knew that people were going to go nuts. Yes. About some of those like, you know, the ranking the best Marvel ones and they would purposely put ones that people hated like in the top, like five or ten then yeah yeah yeah defend it and they come on you know what you're doing or we were told what to rank a certain movie or else we couldn't do the list that kind of
Starting point is 01:19:27 that that never happened to me personally but I'm not saying it didn't happen to you that didn't happen to me I didn't happen to me I wouldn't do those lists I wouldn't go oh that's right you weren't you didn't do those it's right you're right you're right I wouldn't do them um so anyway um yes yes nonsense it's nonsense okay Tim Sam great Tim Sam here we go this summer movie season legacy IPs aren't getting like Masters of Universe and Mortal Kombat. Two indie flicks, surprise everyone in May. Topping Star Wars returned to cinemas
Starting point is 01:19:56 with Indy the New Breakout Star, Toy Story of Marvel keeping Disney afloat and Nolan still on top. It's a good recap, Tim. It's a good recap. But what's the truth here, Tim. Let's go past what you said. Legacy RPs aren't getting interest. Yes, they are if they make good movies,
Starting point is 01:20:10 as we saw from Spider-Man. So the problem is that Masters of the Universe and Mortal Kombat 2 weren't that great of movies, and neither was Mando and Gros. But if you came out with a great, Monaster's Universe movie, a great Mortal Kombat 2 movie, a great Mandolin and Grogo movie, those movies would have made bank. So the reason we're seeing Spider-Man overperform is because people had money
Starting point is 01:20:31 still left in their pocket. I think it's a recap. I think he's just particularly recapping. I only has a wrong recap, though. It's like the legacy IPs for this summer movie, I think particularly, if you recap without context is my point. Yeah, but I mean, if you look at this summer's movie season, this summer's movie season, the legacy IP did not get the interest like Motu and MOTU and MAP.
Starting point is 01:20:49 Because that's not. Whatever they might be. He's just factually putting out that that's what happened this summer for the legacy IP. Those those two did not get the interest for that month. The two indie flicks surprised everyone in May with backrooms and obsession, 100%, right? Star Wars returned to cinemas, but you didn't, because Tim is such a Star Wars, he's in the same camp. If you're going to give the legacy IP some shit, let's talk about Star Wars has a very disappointing, returned in May Timmy.
Starting point is 01:21:21 And then to cinemas with any new breakout start, I don't think you can disagree with that. She's, you know, blown up since. Toy Story Marvel keeping Disney afloat and Nolan still on top. All that stuff, I'm with you. But it was good. Yeah, sure. Uh-oh, here we go. Ready, John?
Starting point is 01:21:39 Yeah. Vaseline Bayes. So Hot Mike pushed out fake news. No, we didn't. People ran with it and created their own fake news. Jeff said it as a throwoff. Right. I don't think there's Vaseline in you, buddy.
Starting point is 01:21:55 1471, guys. We just need 20. Let's go. Come on. Before we, we have about a half an hour left on this show to get us to, again, if you're watching this show right now, the name of the show is trending. It's going to be a half an hour comedy with Andrew Freed directing it. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:13 Get there. 29 people, people. Come on. Get there. 29 people. That's all we got to do. Also, someone help Thanos pants. mind his balls in his pants for guns.
Starting point is 01:22:20 I like Thanos pants. What's a cry baby? Why? Sometimes Roka's a little aggressive. It hurts my feelings. I'm very soft. Please Thanos pants alone. You leave Thanos pants alone.
Starting point is 01:22:30 Ron H. I'm walking around the port trying to identify U.S. turnus and heckling them all with pants off. I don't think that's heckling. I think that's full on harassment. All with pants off. Just kidding about the heckling and about the pants. That's fair.
Starting point is 01:22:41 Hunter Vance. I am 100 and 1,236 words to the first draft my novel. That's amazing. that's really great. I should be finished by the time the Kickstarter launches and I'll be celebrating by donating to the man that reunited the child of me that always dreamed of being storyteller. That's the coolest.
Starting point is 01:22:57 I'm going to screenshot that. That's very awesome. That's awesome. Copy that. Hold on a second. Perfect. Thank you so much, Hunter Vance. That's pretty awesome.
Starting point is 01:23:09 Yeah, man. What I'd love to hear about the novel and everything, too. That's really cool. And thank you so much for even saying any of that. How awesome is that? That's what I see. said, you know, I think I said it the other day with, I was talking to Freed when he was on. And it's just like, no matter how long, I mean, if you think about when, when you were doing
Starting point is 01:23:26 Shmowdown and how many people used to come up to you about like the, the outlaw and say like how that inspired people to keep going and do this and everything and like things you've done to your channel. Was that? Because he wasn't aggressive. But yes, go ahead. Go ahead. But anyway, the, the point is that, you know, it's like, you're still humbled by it.
Starting point is 01:23:45 Of course. Oh, my God. Yeah. Yes. It's very moving. when people are complimentary. Because they rarely are, as Stanis Pants points out. They rarely are.
Starting point is 01:23:53 So when people are complimentary to the work you do and the things you do, because you are putting yourself out there, it really means a lot. It's very humbling. Honestly, it's very humbling. And I know it's humbling for you as well, brother. Yeah. So the other thing I'm going to do, and like I'll do for a little bit, because I am doing Campi Show again today at 3.
Starting point is 01:24:10 But what I will do, after we finish the Super Chat questions, if you guys have any questions about the upcoming Kickstarter, anything you want to, whether it's the Schmoatown side of it, whether it's about, you know, the things that we have, about anything that the updates, tears, make sure those, you don't have to throw super chats and they were just going to highlight the comments at the end of the show. So, and if you do it, you can even throw them in there now,
Starting point is 01:24:28 and PLD will star them, so I have them for later. Ron H, new podcast, A, Bucing Quaid, the podcast, no one wanted it, everyone wants to listen to. Christian, you come up with the idea if it happened, you better watch Hollywood on a loop for a day. I don't think people don't understand that. I've told that story a billion times now at this point, but, like, one of the reasons I took the meeting,
Starting point is 01:24:47 on a rooftop with Gary Busey twice, by the way. The first time I went in there was to see like, I was like, okay, well, is it a schick? You know, like, is he, is it like 30% real cuckoo and 70% of show? It's 99.9% cuckoochoo. Like, 99.9. What? What? Everything I asked.
Starting point is 01:25:14 I told you, I told you this, right? Like, ask me, I'm Gary Buse. asked me one question about potentially doing a podcast with me, John. Yeah. I ask me if you were going to have John, if you were going to have Gary Bucie do a show. You're going to ask Gary Bucie. You're going to be a producer on the show and a co-host with him,
Starting point is 01:25:31 but you're asking him questions about him, himself to ask, ask me. Gary. So, like, I'm excited to be doing this project. You're what? You're what? I'm excited. Excited about what?
Starting point is 01:25:43 What are you excited about? What is excited mean? You want to, okay. You're one of my favorite actors. Actors. Actors, acting, it depends on acting is. Acting can be. What?
Starting point is 01:25:57 Yeah. I'm just wondering, um, yeah. Think what, no ums. There's no ums. Ums utilizing morality. That's amazing. That's great. That's what I dealt with.
Starting point is 01:26:09 That's what I dealt with for an hour or maybe two on the roof. Twice. Keep going. what what what if you got him quaid and van dam there'll be four hour episodes every podcast four hour episodes i told you he did that my favorite thing of the whole the whole meeting was the second meeting was then we're going through and he's like put on this list potential gist uh don rickles uh we can get danny glover we can get uh mill gipson on the show and i go oh yeah lethal weapon you guys have you talked recently
Starting point is 01:26:44 the last time I spoke to them about 27 years ago great great perfect okay good and then he's going through all these lists and then he goes is george carlin still with us and I go no Gary he's actually being I actually don rickles is too and he goes oh we should pretty much cross him off the list it was like
Starting point is 01:27:02 I'll just go ahead do that it was the best it was the best but still like and then they're like is there any world you want to do this? No no world no world by the way this is how this is our pre-production meetings go with Jeff Snyder as well. I'm sure.
Starting point is 01:27:16 100%. What? What? What is it what? Okay. Podcasts you want to run it on this? Okay. Ronnie. Who we lost last two weeks, RIP to
Starting point is 01:27:28 Christine. No one. Hayden Pan and Terry. Yeah, Michael Wright. This is crazy. Kenny Bradford. Benny Latimore. Dolly Parton. Tim Curry. Samuel Monroe and Peter Collins. I mean, nuts. Yeah. Nuts. Yeah. So many people, Ronnie.
Starting point is 01:27:41 It's like, it really is sad. it really said how many how many people kept like it was it was like one after another yeah yeah yeah it's heartbreaking man heartbreaking yeah yeah right let's see let's go to the thank you so much ryan it's very generous yeah thank you and thank you for having that uh debut i mean that um um yeah no what am i look over i don't know i'm not debut i'm looking for uh oh my god when you're john my brain are so fried like when you're doing a tribute how does how don't I couldn't even get to it tribute thank you for the tribute brandon what's up man yeah buck guy what's up christian just want to thank rocca for his breakdown of the recent episode of lanterns i was sitting there not in along
Starting point is 01:28:25 with satisfaction thank you buck i much love well thank you very much i got to check it out dude i'm gonna check it yeah it's good man it's a good episode j mobile uh between lanterns and penguin and the batman i know not dc e you i need dc to keep this tone i don't want to go back to corin's silly, goofy tone. I'm kind of with them. I'm kind of with them. Yeah. I like, to me, this is,
Starting point is 01:28:46 because one thing is what I agree with is everything can't be dark and based in the Nolan that Reeves rounded stuff. And that's what Penguin is. And I love Penguin and I love the Batman. I get it. But the reason why I think Lanterns does it really well is it doesn't shy away from, you know, the comic book stuff and the Martians and all this kind of stuff that's going on. and I think that they should really kind of take that tone
Starting point is 01:29:15 because it's not like nobody's funny in this show. Right. There's humor. Yeah. And it's like I just, I'm kind of over the, the silly goofy stuff. I agree. I'm kind of over it as well.
Starting point is 01:29:28 And what I said in my review last night was, I tweeted this morning. I hope Marvel watched that show last night to understand. Yeah. No, Marvel. Because I want them to understand what they blew in Falcons. in Winter Soldier and in Captain America 4. If they had really committed
Starting point is 01:29:44 to telling the story that is being told in lanterns, they would have had hits on their hands on both of those situations. But they didn't because they mealy mouthed and half-assed it and played it safe and they got terrible results in the end.
Starting point is 01:30:00 And so, yeah. Yeah, okay. I love this tone of lanterns. All right, let's see. Next one. Brandon. Speaking of lanterns, If you're not watching it, you need to do better. The show is killing it. John Stewart means a lot to mean, they're doing his character,
Starting point is 01:30:14 great service with his depiction so far. Yeah. I mean, again, I haven't seen it yet, but I just know. Luke texted me this morning and said, I really liked it. You know, I'm going to watch it with Sam. He goes, like, take the internet's being the internet. Yeah, of course. Yeah, I guess it's kind of a thing overall.
Starting point is 01:30:30 But I, but I can't really speak on it because I haven't seen it yet, but it is, I mean, well, there's a total eight episodes? Eight episodes, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. We're in three now. So I'm looking forward to watching it with her when I can call it and rudder. It's up, dude. London calling saw the new movie Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman.
Starting point is 01:30:47 Wild was the smoke show, but crazy as F. And Hoffman was great. Super Chat won't let me type the name of the movie. I like Roga's Hoodie. Yeah, what is like the sex, sex something, whatever? I saw like the trailer for that one. Yeah. And is it out now?
Starting point is 01:31:01 I guess so. I think it's out in certain areas. Remember, he's in the UK, so they might get it earlier that we will, possibly. So, or maybe it's in L.N. in those areas. So I don't know. But it's called what? I want your sex. Okay, that's what it is. Okay. Okay. Yeah. All right. So let's see next one. Go pal.
Starting point is 01:31:22 Hollywood has been doing the age difference for a while. Grace Kelly was 25 and Jimmy Stewart 46. Different time periods in rear window, Kim Noak in 25. Yeah, I know. But that's what I mean. It's like very different from today. And there's a lot of jokes and other things you can do today. they couldn't do then and it's a different time period it's a different time we're much more aware of it now we call it out now as opposed to old hollywood yeah yeah uh j mobile all the best dc stuff recently has been darker more mature i know some like superman but it's just too silly in my opinion lean into the dark i think they've always been traditionally a darker brand i think that's when they they and people will push back well sniders thing didn't work all the way through yet but the stuff that
Starting point is 01:32:01 really worked wasn't because it wasn't i i love mannesty i love yeah me too i think it works really, really well. Yeah. And I, by the way, and I think David Corence set is great. I just think that there's at sometimes that it's like, let it's not, it didn't do what Masters of Universe did. Master of Universe just didn't even give it, give itself five seconds to settle into any characters and it's like, no, here's a stupid joke.
Starting point is 01:32:25 And it's like, oof, I'm out, I'm just out of it. Superand did less of that. And I remember in my out of the theater reaction, I was surprised at how much it didn't take me out of it all the way. But then you go back and watch it. Like, there's a lot, like, and I know. And I don't mind. because people know here he goes talking about the garage door again it's like that garage door thing
Starting point is 01:32:43 is the perfect example of like okay it's a funny bit but why do you need that right now he's on the way to save to help her save and it's a great scene when terrific comes out there with the slow motion is beating the shit at everybody and going through and you're going to have other lines throughout it why do you need the garage door thing right there just for a goof like it's like it's like what are we are we in this to be let's go get superman let's go see let's go see save him or it's like oh there's another there's another gun joke and it's like it's just like I'm not and people go oh it's funny do you have a sense of humor it was funny it's a funny it's a funny bit yeah but why is it there yeah right why is it there 100% agree with you dude why is it right that's all
Starting point is 01:33:25 I'm saying it's like it throws you off the rhythm like what are you trying to prove it's like guardians too to me I like guardians too significantly better now than I yes used to but I had the same problem with guardians so and I still do sometimes it's like we're in the middle of really pushing the emotional stuff because there's some big emotional moments in guardians too big and some of the strongest of the whole trilogy um but sometimes just same things like boom you're hit with this joke okay it's a funny joke but shit that we need to hear right now and so that's what i'm worried about with the future of dc we're gonna get is that is that what manna tomorrow is going to be like i hope not god i hope not i hope he takes the note yeah um Nathan drake romulus was the best
Starting point is 01:34:04 alien movie in years, but Ridley said it was okay, and he needs to help the franchise. He can help by staying away from it. Romulus was easily the best, way better than the one really Scott's been doing. Yeah, I mean, this is, I'm so angry about this. I've written a bunch of tweets that I haven't posted yet, but like it just drives me nuts because Ridley hasn't made a good alien movie since 1979, a genuinely good movie since the first movie. And his arrogance, his octogenarian ass, who's almost 90 years old, is going to come in and do this really groundbreaking installment of alien. I think this is an old white man who got mad that a young Latino filmmaker came in and showed him up in his own franchise. And now he wants to go take it back.
Starting point is 01:34:46 And so he's going to denigrate the Latino guy's script, denigrate his movie that he made that revitalized his franchise and called it okay so that he can make himself seem like the conquering hero. Fuck off, Ridley Scott. Like, I think it's ridiculous. I don't want to get into a full fight with you. I'll push back just a little bit. Just a little bit. I'll give you the old dog who thinks he knows everything and is replaced in the young firecracker because it's his franchise.
Starting point is 01:35:10 I know better. That is an insinuation that he might be racist. No, I'm not trying to say. I'm just saying, what are we seeing lanterns play out? Do we think Hal is racist? No, it's because he's threatened. Right, but I don't think, right, from the young guy. So I would agree with the idea that I think that I know better.
Starting point is 01:35:31 I'm the old dog here. Right. And let's get the young dog out of here. And the young dog's movie was a thousand times better than anything. The old dog's done in a long time. So I'm on board. It's 2015. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:43 All right, let's go. Let's see, Romneyus is not better than Romulus. Plythea, you always got to come in with a dumb tank. Bermitia is better than Romulus. Not a better alien movie. It's a, it's a very well-made movie. But it's not a better alien movie. No, Ramirez is awesome.
Starting point is 01:35:59 Ramos is one of the best alien movies since. alien and aliens, I think. But those are the two, those are the two best ones. Alien and aliens. Like I, Roka saying he wants to get PLDD the scary movie trip. It's a wild, hilarious. Yep, yep. Joey Peders. 22 months. Can you talk about
Starting point is 01:36:17 music for our show? Chris, what the sound of the show is going to be. Well, Joey, I don't really, I mean, I don't have that yet. You know, like, I have my ideas, but it's like, it's a collective partnership with myself and boardwalk pictures and martini. or like once we like that's going to be the exciting thing and again for people it's just a great question by the way because when you guys um back the campaign one of the things that we're really pushing is that you're going to see the show uh from the ground up and how and how it is pushed so when we're making those decisions you could be in the meeting with us as we're like oh you know what this when we raised more than we thought we were going to we didn't know if we could get this piece of music we can make a play for this music now so I have ideas and I have like playlists and stuff.
Starting point is 01:37:05 But yeah, that's, but that's it. So, but yeah, I have, I have tons of ideas and I have a full on playlist. Jake Pratt. Well, one one six, great, good luck with the show. Thank you so much, Jake. Appreciate that so much. And guys, we are, come on, let's get to. I'm just, just, just get us to the 1500 today.
Starting point is 01:37:22 We're at 14. We can do this. We're at 1477. For God, six. 14, 17, 23 people. If you're in here right now, 23 23 peeps
Starting point is 01:37:33 Screwface John I mean you're you're following us right screw face come on Johnny Petrieza any chance we get Booker T on the desk for the Shmato there's always a chance to get everything I mean I think to have him do his picks
Starting point is 01:37:46 would be pretty good I would want to go back and do his picks he used to do the Today I got Jeff Schneider that was the best there's a guy at my gym that looks like Timu
Starting point is 01:37:58 Booker Tate Every time I see him. It looks like team of Booker Team and I see him. Yeah, I want to do that every time I walk by. Johnny Patrice, any chance we get book. Oh, so always a chance. Ronnie, Auditty returned to IMAX this weekend, had to see it one last time. It's essentially a glorious, don't come over without calling first.
Starting point is 01:38:21 Yeah, it's back in IMAX. That's what, I wonder how long it's going to be in IMAX. They'll probably be there for a little bit, right? Yeah, yeah. I'm going to hopefully try and catch it in IMAX. I haven't seen it on X yet. Derek, there we go. I just came in and first thing I hear is Roka saying he's going to get harder and they're going to get softer.
Starting point is 01:38:39 Absolutely no idea what this is about, but I have me dying laughing anyway. Please clip this. Well, Smetz is back. Smetz is back and it's going to be making a bunch of shorts for us. That was good. So we're, yeah, look, there's going to be a lot more clipouts and other things too. So there you go. This is our show.
Starting point is 01:38:57 Can we get a profit sharing plan? And Roka getting harder. I'm getting concerned. Christian, please keep the rocador. You know, there will be something as far as producers and those things that have had certain tiers for sure, Ron, as how we're making that work. And then down the line, look, when it comes to the overall full seasons, everything to, the sky's the limit of what we're going to be able to do.
Starting point is 01:39:16 Ronnie, Cercy's back to your disguises as she turned the pigs back in the men's chef's kiss. That makes me want a Christopher Harlan Nolan horror movie. Yeah, it was creepy. That was a creepy scene. What is he going to do next? He's going to take three years off. That's what he does to work on his next thing. But he's been alluding to a horror movie.
Starting point is 01:39:39 I would be so curious to see what his horror movie would be. But I imagine it's not going to be that. I hope it's not. He's an epic tier now, man, you know? I know. I hope it's not. For horror fans, they're going to be like, please, please, please. I'm just not a horror fan.
Starting point is 01:39:55 You know, like it's just like, you know, thrillers and those kind of things. Sure. I just, I want to seem to, I like when he goes deep into sci-fi and, you know, so I would, he'll never do it, but I'd love to see an inception sequel. Danny Allen was whenever it was wrong if Coyote versus Acme didn't make money. No, they, well, first of all, yes, they were wrong because they are for, they're, they greenlit it in the first place and they made it. Yeah. So if they didn't think that they'd make a profit on it or they didn't think that you were going to be able to do it, then you shouldn't, you shouldn't have made. different because there's a difference with background and people are not going to want to hear this but there's a
Starting point is 01:40:32 difference of back if they looked at background and the co-CE CEO of dc saffron also said this would have been bad for the for the dc brand to release this that's something going let's not do that let's just put this thing away this movie everyone who's involved with it so far even john who said okay maybe there's a narrative behind it, but still said, good movie. Yeah, yeah, good movie. So, yes, they were wrong to try to shelf it, 100% in general. If there were people out there that wanted to buy it, and clearly there was, I don't know. You couldn't really have anybody else buy Batgirl because it's part of the DC brand.
Starting point is 01:41:17 I don't even really have bought it. But this was a different scenario, and they sold it off. And it still made, it still couldn't. make money, depending on how it does week two. So no. Also, yes, I think they were wrong. Yeah. Also streaming, it could make money in like, you know, merchandise sales and all
Starting point is 01:41:37 of that. So it's too early to say if WB was wrong because it's only been out for one week. But I think they were wrong in terms of PR-wise. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. But with Batgirl, you know, I'm kind of on the fence on that because like the same people who tell me Supergirl was good or told me Backer
Starting point is 01:41:53 was bad and, you know, we saw that turned out. So we'll see. We'll see. I mean, yeah. Listen, Dancing Dog 60, good for gun. He deserves to be out there to usher DC to greatness. Look, we all win when comic book movies do well. Now bring on the metal man, James. What's the metal man? What the hell is that? It's a team in the DC universe of metal men. Oh, metal men. I saw a metal man. Okay. It was like the tin man or something. I don't know what the hell that way. Dancing Dog 60. Thank you so much, by the way. As far as I do agree with Dancing Dog, by the way.
Starting point is 01:42:22 You want everything to win. You want everything. Of course. Of course. I think if you root for things to do badly, then that you got problems. Yeah, you got problems. If you root for it to do bad. It's like, why? It's like you can predict if it's going to do bad. I saw some imbecile on Twitter to just, again, I don't respond. I mute things.
Starting point is 01:42:43 Someone said when I was tweeting out about my campaign. Yeah, yeah. And I said, you spread toxicity and you spread negative points on your points. And you're asking people to donate for you. I'm like, I'm thinking, What? Who are you talking to? I'm like, is it because I maybe didn't like a movie that you don't like? Or maybe I gave an opinion on something that maybe you didn't agree with.
Starting point is 01:43:07 So that's a toxic point of view because I don't agree. It's like people, this is I'm saying, this stupid shit narrative that people have. It's like, it's better. Like, as I always say, now, maybe the person's a Star Wars fan. I have not been positive on Star Wars lately. I think they're in the shits. I think they're in the shits. I want them to do well.
Starting point is 01:43:25 I want Starfighter to be one of the best Star Wars movies ever. I don't think it will be. I think it's going to be good. I don't think it's going to be one of the best ever. But I want it to be great. I want them to start, I want Asoka to surprise the shit out of me. And I want to be able to say to PLD, hey, you know what?
Starting point is 01:43:41 I understand what you're talking about because this looks great. I mean, or this was great. The real location is. I want, I want to be in that same kind of excitement that I used to be in. I'm just not. Yeah. Yeah. Also, people are always going to.
Starting point is 01:43:55 judge because they don't do anything or put them again and the same people will tell you that you're toxic will post toxic posts themselves it's the same that that that's the same and it did that all in itself was a toxic post yes exactly a hundred percent that was because i'm like yeah i'm like okay first of all show me an example because what most likely would have been i probably was me not liking something that they liked or maybe saying i was upset with mandorraine and grogo or or whatever it might be and that's probably what it would have been but it's like you know it's it always it just deflates the real purpose of what people are trying to do and the real cause when you just like throw things to the wind it's it's it's it's just lame um yeah all right let's see
Starting point is 01:44:41 also bring on batman wonder woman and adam did you see those leaked that's what it says right oh i don't know i don't know why we just bring it adam i don't know what do you know um I mean Aquaman? Do you see the one? Adam is an character. It's just like such a small character. Oh, yeah, I didn't know. There was.
Starting point is 01:44:59 But Wonder Woman, do you see those like pictures? Oh, yeah. I mean, come on. Right? And they're legit, right? Yeah, those are legit. And the thing is, I mean, it's not a coincidence to Galgado was on Happy, Sad, confused saying that I hope the next person who becomes Wonder Woman enjoys the right.
Starting point is 01:45:16 She's basically, no, she knows. Passing the toy. That Adrian is going to play her. And so, yeah. I bet you, I bet you, I bet you Adjur called her. Maybe. Yeah, maybe. And like, hey, I'm going to take this over.
Starting point is 01:45:29 Are you okay with this? I can see, I can see that. I mean, because her interviews, she knows how to carry yourself already. You know, like, she's, I saw her talking about Andor and the stuff she said about and how, like, thankful she was for it and realized how it changed and love she had for Tony Gilroy and the things that she's, like, she's presenting herself like one year old man. Yeah. Right now.
Starting point is 01:45:50 Yeah. Yeah, she's wonderful. Jalen Turner. I saw Buddy over this week, and the movie is bonkers. It's worth a reaction on the channel. I don't even know. Who's in it?
Starting point is 01:46:01 I don't know. It's a good question. Who's in that movie? I mean, I'm hearing a lot about it, obviously. Kristen Miliani. Oh, is she really? I like her. Yeah, I like her.
Starting point is 01:46:11 It's got a 7.2 right now, and I don't know, maybe. Maybe. I never say never. I always need stuff to watch with, okay. I always need stuff to watch with Tina. I've been purposely kind of there's a lot of,
Starting point is 01:46:23 I missed a lot of movies this, this last two weeks in general. I mean, I told you what happened with Insidious, but with, but with, um, but with last few, just because building up towards this Kickstarter and everything too and,
Starting point is 01:46:35 and just doing, making sure we have all of our stuff with Sam. It's just been hard to get to the city. But I'll be, you know, I'll be heading back there too. Uh, I want to do a quick update and see.
Starting point is 01:46:46 Uh, I'm looking right now. We're at 1478. only 22 away John from okay 1500 so let's uh I'm just going to show you guys real quick and if you haven't already seen this this is where we're at right now
Starting point is 01:47:01 here we are we got 1478 and you see the three that's the three of us from the shoot that we did and we're going to be doing that we'll have that video out there soon we do have to update this by the way because someone brought this up to my opinion she's an ex-s-NL actor she's not a current SNL actor someone brought her point of why does she
Starting point is 01:47:19 need the show if she's a current SNL actress she was on it for two seasons from like 2005 to 2007 um okay so then this is some of the some of the stuff here that potentially what you could get there's a few more of the pictures and there's a little bit more about boardwalk on what they've done yeah so and then now that that was added a little bit more what did you did they send you that the board boardwalk one the picture um some of those pictures yeah oh because you should add welcome to rexum Because that's them as well, right? Yeah, yeah, that is. Yeah, that's a big one.
Starting point is 01:47:53 That's a big one. And Fried talked about Welcome to Rexum a lot on an interview. And then we have obviously the stuff with Shmone. Yeah, so there you go. Okay. And then we also, confirmation, by the way, you got Roka. You got Chris Carr already. Those two people are in the tournament.
Starting point is 01:48:12 Yeah, Chris is in. And Jen Sturger, returning to do the interviews. Yay. She confirmed that. well on the show. So, um, she's, so we're all really, really excited. Um, nom, num, num, num, num, no. All right. Let's see. But what do they used to call her? What are they used to call? Jessica?
Starting point is 01:48:29 Jessica. Yeah. That was hilarious. Yeah. Um, I don't think Marvel is going, trying to outperform avatar at the box office. Out of the three AMCs near me, end game is only showing on one of them. It's only two showings a day. Odd choice. Oh, that is interesting. You might be right, Eclipse. It's a good point. That's a good point. Um, well, I mean, I'm curious to see how they do. and what they do overseas. But the tickets already have been selling like crazy, though. Ronnie, screw faces, uh,
Starting point is 01:48:56 Goku Vegeta is fire. Is that a, is that a, is that a name of his, is that a song? Screwface? And speaking of Screwface. Hey. Tom Hardy's got bars and you're rapping forever. I was surprised. I had to react to it. He should have done the Venom soundtrack. Yeah, a lot of people said that.
Starting point is 01:49:12 I do like, uh, I did like Eminem's venom tune though. I did like that one. We got to check that out, screwface. I'm going to watch that. I watch your reaction later. Because I was, I was going through Instagram, watching everything. Every time it popped up,
Starting point is 01:49:23 I watched it. That's great. I want to check that out. Greenie for months, damn. Tom Hardy rap is ace reminds me of Necro. He's, he's amazing.
Starting point is 01:49:34 And Scruffaces, and hey, Roka, I know. I know. I don't. A little Yankee. Happy Monday,
Starting point is 01:49:42 Jens. Can't support more because I'm on my way to work. In my opinion, lanterns could be to the DCU what Andor is to Star Wars. I mean, I don't know if
Starting point is 01:49:53 but I don't know if the DCU needs an and or yet, right? Because Star Wars kind of needed an Andor. Like there's still, this really is only the third project inside of the live action stuff that they really, I mean, because Peacemaker's Season 2 was going to happen regardless. He just happened
Starting point is 01:50:09 to make it, you know, part of it. So it's really Superman, Supergirl, and this. This is to me the best thing that they've done so far. I need to see through episode three, but to me, this is the best thing that they've done so far. Yeah, John, how do you feel about it? I agree. 100% so far it's the best thing they've done. Although I did love season one, a peacemaker.
Starting point is 01:50:28 So for different reasons than this show. But that's not connected to this. Wait until they land. What do you mean? Season one is not connected to the DCU. Like that was, that was great. Season one was connected to the DC EU when initially came out. That wasn't made under the Saffir.
Starting point is 01:50:44 Right, but he's continuing that. I'm talking about what was made under Gun and Saffir. This is this is the best thing. Okay. All right. Yeah. Screw face. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:54 Oh, yeah. Sinister McHale. Your wife walks outside and sees you shooting apples off your kids' head. What happens? Love the Furious, but the Raid 2 is still the greatest action film. I'm with you on the last sentence. I love The Furious. And nobody touching the Raid 2.
Starting point is 01:51:10 Raid 2 is like the godfather of action of those types of movies. It's a great gangster film besides just being an action film. I would be the end of, I would never see my kids ever again. Well, he's, he's referencing what's in the episode. You haven't seen it. No, I haven't seen it. But yeah, but I wouldn't, I don't know what happens. But like my, my, my, I know, I just know that I would never see my kids ever again.
Starting point is 01:51:34 That was the case. And screw face, I also love that Tom was wearing a mask like Bain. Yes. Those two. That was great. Yeah. Screw face. And also thank you, Ron, for the go, the Goku, Vegeta.
Starting point is 01:51:46 Listen, am I saying that right? Yeah, I think so. You got us Winston on that. I think it's a Dragon Ball Zee. That's cool. I believe it's Vegeta. I believe Jeter. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:51:55 Trey Porter. Summer 2028 looking pretty all right right now. X-Men, yep. Miami Vice, 85. It could be fun. What's DOT 2? Day of Thunder. Day's a Thunder 2.
Starting point is 01:52:07 Thank you. Call of Duty and Ghost Rider. Who's doing Call of Duty? I think it's Peter Berg, isn't it? Is he really? That's interesting. I think. okay all right uh two bad dog stars didn't do better it's pretty good is it pretty good
Starting point is 01:52:22 it's i hear it's not that good i heard that it wasn't i heard that wasn't good but um you know my choice's taste what you take what you shitting on mike joyce's taste for uh armada by any means drops friday you'll seeing it walber and that's oh that's um you know what i have actually shit i have to go and see when when is my screening for that i have a screening for that by all means right i think so Is that right or did I miss it? Yeah, it comes out September 4th. So this week.
Starting point is 01:52:53 Yeah, yeah, yeah, and Mark Wahlberg. Yeah, you're right, right, right, too. When was it? No, yeah, it's, you know what? My screening is supposed to be on Wednesday. Oh, nice. Wednesday. But it's a screening, it comes out on Thursday, though, right?
Starting point is 01:53:06 Yeah, it does. Comes out on Thursday. The best, that's never a great sign. Yeah, but, you know, Paul Hitchcock, digging lanterns, but think some, fans but, wait, digging lanterns, but think some fans feel Hal is just there to get Stewart over and therefore he's a bit marginalized and made unlikable. So let's do.
Starting point is 01:53:27 I haven't seen three. Don't, don't, don't ruin three for me. I'm not going to. All I'm going to say to you is it's, Paul, it's only been three episodes. So fans that are flipping out about what Hal is being used for, they're being histrionic housewives from the 50s. This is ridiculous. Like, it is just a, it's just three episodes into an eight episode series.
Starting point is 01:53:46 You don't know what they're going to do with Hal. And so you can't judge, to me, you can't judge the show until the show is over. And then you'll see what the through line was for Hal. I think people running off half-cocked about this series and how they're treating hell are being ridiculous. And they'll look like idiots if by the end of the show, they've done an incredible story. Yeah. Ronnie, Christian put it in a calendar, visit to Montreal all summer, 2007.
Starting point is 01:54:10 I'll start saving up and get you steak dinner, at least, Poutine. Watch Hollywood. One of these days. Poutine. One of these days. Sherlock, you guys see that story about Stallone and Dolly Parton and the homeless guy, honestly made me lose some respect for Stallone. Here's the thing that's an old story. Yeah, she wrote it in her thing, you know, years and years ago.
Starting point is 01:54:27 And inside of that story itself, it was him, built his head was so big at the time from what he was doing, rocking all that stuff too. And he did it. And he realized immediately his mistake. And he went back to give the guy a thing. And then, you know, he donated on other things moving forward. The story itself, not great. Yeah, not good. But I just always find, like, you know, when it comes to people being able to judge things unless you know the whole story, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:54:59 I would say, I would say that for me, the story itself, not great, but it followed. If the story would have been like, she called him son of it, she said, yeah, whatever, and just walked back into his trailer and that was it. Then I'd be like, wow, that's pretty shitty. slide. But the fact, he realized he was, to me, it was a human moment of going, that was fucking terrible, what I just did. And I'm going to go, I'm going to give the guy some food. I'm going to do something else. And I'm going to
Starting point is 01:55:24 go back and he realized that it was a shit thing. He realized it and he made up for it. So I don't know. How do you see it, John? Yeah, well, I think, listen, you shouldn't do, that shouldn't even be an impulse to do that to a homeless person. I agree. Horrible. Yeah. But the, I hear you, that he came back and
Starting point is 01:55:40 did the blanket realize his mistake. We all make mistakes when we're young, certainly get cock strong, as you said headstrong or whatever and cocky and all of that. But, you know, living in Hollywood, I've heard a lot of stories about him of people who worked with him and hasn't always been very positive in how he's treated certain people, especially women sometimes. So I put that in the package with all of that. But being said, I still love the man. He's a hero of mine and did incredible work that has inspired so many people. So just like most things in life, people are complicated, man. Yeah. Ron H. Ron H. Ron H. is more extreme than any stupid wing.
Starting point is 01:56:14 There you go. Odds at Ron created MTV's pants dance offs his hassle. Probably pretty high. Joseph Ashley, are the Schmodeown shirt still in play to sell? I mean, you have to look at a, I don't know if there still are. If you go to, I mean, on the T public side, are they still on there, peel day? I don't even know. I have to get some new ones, some new designs.
Starting point is 01:56:36 The Cinema Kid, when you told the story of how you always wanted to do this show and Andrew said, then let's do it, they really inspired me. It happened to me. I told my friend, he said, let's do it. This morning we did our first podcast on YouTube. Thank you. That's amazing. I love that.
Starting point is 01:56:47 Yeah, I mean, that was the whole thing, right? That's what I said to, we just got to make it get done. And that's why I want you guys all to be on board with this. And, you know, look, like I said, I was hoping to get to 1500 today before the end of the show. Maybe we can still do it. And it's 1482 currently right now,
Starting point is 01:57:04 28 away. I'm waiting to see. And even when we go on the replay, hopefully we'll put it as the pin comment. People, if you're watching it, you can sign up. but we really we i mean we have to get to about 5 000 to really be settled in
Starting point is 01:57:19 when we're about to launch because you know jama getting we if my as this guy just said when i had that story with andrew and i said i want to take a shot and i want to give my audience chance i want to give myself a chance to see if we can do it and i said at least i try you know and i'm going to do everything can and make sure it happens and if it happens i want to be the you know my wife's going to be um
Starting point is 01:57:41 living with a very happy person for a bed. And if I'm not, we'll be pretty fucking miserable. And you probably have to host the show for two weeks. But you got to try. And you got to see what you can do. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:57:56 That's like that printer guy said in Jerry McGuire. That's how you do it, man. You're pushing balls out there. That's what you have to do. Nathan Drake, why'd you only tip two bucks on my car? Because I was driving. Alex,
Starting point is 01:58:06 I recently went to a screening of Big Wednesday, starting a very younger. Oh, yes. He was basically always that way. way. I mean, I don't know if he was always that way. I think the motorcycle accident definitely did something. Yeah. Eric Kirby, watch The Whisper Man on Netflix. It's okay, but towards the end of the
Starting point is 01:58:21 movie, Robert De Niroz says something so crazy, the bad guy. It's a Roka saying. Oh, no. Was he, suck my balls or something? I don't know what I say. I'm getting harder. You're getting softer. Yeah. I mean, I didn't see. Did you watch that movie? No, I can't watch late to Niro anymore, man. Ride the Circle, 10 Jules, hiding.
Starting point is 01:58:39 Smet's back. This way. Thank you, by the way. the circle. Obi-Wan Canoli. Smet's back this week. I'm amped. Happy Monday, fellas. Yeah, he's going to be back. Play some games. He's going to be back this whole, I mean, he's back. Jumping back on shows. He'll be around for the campaign. Greenie, for Maas, support Derek Johnson. Thank you. McCug, you're going to pop up on the Christian Hulloch show soon, Armada. I don't know. I mean, I talk to McCooks every once in a while, you know, we'd kind of text each other, but I know him and Ken did their thing. You never know.
Starting point is 01:59:07 Yeah. Armada. Did you watch Netflix the Whisper Man? No, I did not. I didn't. I'm sorry. So Danny, too car, how's the diet going on, Christian? Look and leaner. Yeah, I mean, look, I've been doing my, my weekends have really been mean going off of it. And I think once if I, especially if we hit the goal, I'll probably be even more strict. But right now, I mean, you know, when I get off here, I, it's two two things of chicken, spinach, potatoes. It's boring, but it's the same shit. Yeah. But thank you very much, man. I appreciate that, Danny. Andrew Sanchez, 67 Jules, 6.7. Thank you. Danos pants, there he is. Bigger ground downgrade.
Starting point is 01:59:46 Cap 3 over cap 4 or Thor 3 to Thor 4. Oh, I see what you're saying. I would say definitely Thor 3 to Thor 4. Yeah. Way bigger downgrade. I don't mind cap 4. It's the weakest out of the four movies. Oh, totally.
Starting point is 02:00:04 Yeah. And there's a lot wrong with it. and it's kind of, but I don't mind it. Thor 4, because Cap 4 is a real movie with people. Thor 4 is a Saturday Night Live sketch. It's terrible. I hate that. There's more wasted potential in Thor 4 than it is in Cap. Yeah, 100%.
Starting point is 02:00:22 He doesn't even know what the movie is. Alex Meyer, good day guys, became a boy uncle this week. And he types of advice. I mean, supposed to be an uncle, goes, you got the easier job. If you can go hang out with your nephew for a little. little bit and then you spend a lot of time and then and then he starts crying and screaming you go okay you're going back to your sibling and you get the hell out of and go sleep uh your your brother sister can't do that so uh i guess you know just just enjoy it and and the same thing i say
Starting point is 02:00:51 everybody with his parents uncles aunts whatever just savor it just save all the all the moments you know yeah that's it you're where the big dates check in when you can't that's basically it yeah um j bosk even my mediocre asho still handled the Yankees. Stop it. You think anyone coming out of the AL has a shot in hell in the World Series? Let's see what happens in Judge. Sure.
Starting point is 02:01:16 Yeah. And, you know, we just wallop the Red Sox. But I think the, I, people think they're going to hand the title to the Dodgers are crazy. Like the Dodgers, the last two World Series, they had, they were almost beat. So, you know, they're not an unbeatable team. Baseball is very much a, what do you call a game? that you can get shocked by. So yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:38 Right, yeah. All right, let's see the next one. Hank Pimp. Any interest in Colony or Hope? I saw Colony and loved it. Very excited for Hope next week. Y'all have any favorite Korean movies. I'm not as aware of them, to be honest.
Starting point is 02:01:52 Yeah, probably trained to Busan is one of my top ones. I don't mean to cop out, but that's basically it. Hope I'm very excited for. I didn't hear the best things about Colony so that you liked it, but I think I might take a look at it again. Atari fan for life. Roka, Smet's combo on Jedi Way was fun. I hope he can come on a Monday show and do Smet's games with him sometime.
Starting point is 02:02:10 Any updates on the Jedi Way from Roka? There's nothing happening in Star Wars, bro. There's just not much. So I don't know what we could do with Jedi Way. So it's just kind of, and, you know, Kevin and I, I think want to work together with Frank. It's just what are we going to come up with? And Kevin's busy all the time now. He's in and out of town.
Starting point is 02:02:25 And so it's just harder to plan a show around that kind of manic schedule. So we'll see, though. We'll see. Manic schedule. That's the best. Ioshi Yomatsu. So speaking of age rat, Richard Gere and Diana Silvers are currently filming the movie The Cemetery in New York Romantic drama. Yikes a bit too much.
Starting point is 02:02:41 Yes. Yeah. It is. I get it. Richard Gier is slick, but I mean, come on. I mean, he is. He's slick. He still does.
Starting point is 02:02:53 But, come on. Come on. All right. Let's say, next one. And that's Tim Sim. Also, one more takeaway from the summer movie season. Ann Hathway making money from being. in three summer movies.
Starting point is 02:03:05 Dead, what's the... Oh, Deverewell's Prada 2. Odyssey and Oak Street is amazing. What are your takeaways from this summer season? I mean, I still, I go with, with obsession and, and, I mean, to me, for what I'm, obviously, Tim, for what I'm doing right now, is that I just, it really did reshape
Starting point is 02:03:22 the way things are being made. So I would say, I would say obsession and other things. And then, you know, obviously Spider-Man and Spider-Man. Yeah. A takeaway is put good movies. in the theaters and people come to it. That's the take. When you put good movies in theaters, people now want to come to it. So do that,
Starting point is 02:03:40 work on that. John, 14 away from 1500. Hey, get there. Get there. Let's see. Okay. Matt, Force. I'm honestly surprised it really wasn't receptive to the obvious reference. Alien Romance holds for his own 1979 film, which started all. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:03:56 Not tactfully navigating and pretty arrogant of him, to be honest. I couldn't. I'm with you on that. Yeah. Stander Ridley. He's so cocky and arrogant. And he hasn't had a good movie since 2015. So what's he being cocky about? It's kind of crazy. Whatever.
Starting point is 02:04:09 Joey Peders, if you guys were the heads of Warner Bros. What would you green light today? Oh, that's so tough. You know, I'd have to, it just depends on what's happening with the pitches from the directors. Joey, that's harder to say because I don't, I mean, I don't know. I just make, yeah, I don't know the answer to that question, unfortunately. I would greenlight anything that Damon Lindelof wants to do. I would fire James Gunn and I would move him off into control of D.C.
Starting point is 02:04:34 Oh, that's what I would do. Damn. Okay, look at you. And I would say, James, you can stick around and be a filmmaker because there is a taste. People have, people do love you movies. But running the studio, just not good at it. Let's try Lindeloff and see his take on stuff. Wow.
Starting point is 02:04:47 We can make your goofy stuff, the anomaly, not the rule. Yeah. It's the doc, Doc. Christian, you know I got to ask. Roca, your family held hostage and they said you can free them if you can pick the winner of a Smet's versus K-O-4 if the Shmodown comes back. for the Intergame Title five rounds. Kalinowski. See, that's what I picked too.
Starting point is 02:05:09 Yeah, Kalinowski. I just think Kevin's gotten softer since he's at a child. Yeah. And Michael is still, Mike Kalinowski is still fighting 16-year-olds at 3 in the morning on call on duty. I know. That means he's still in fighting shape, bro. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:05:26 Smets' text would say differently. Smetz can blow me. He knows what you know. What? What are you taking it out on Smith's for? I'm not taking it up. I'm just saying. My brother knows.
Starting point is 02:05:36 Standing two car. Did you guys manage to catch AEDW all in? Overall, good show. Nice to see Kofi and Xavier debut. Oh, did they debut? Yeah, yesterday.
Starting point is 02:05:45 That's cool. New level, yes. Yeah, I saw some of the highlights. I didn't see the whole thing. It's like a five-hour show, bro. So I saw the highlights. Next time I should do a watch-along,
Starting point is 02:05:56 because I do like All-In. Okay. Dancing dogs, 7-50 Jules. football. Rok is crushing here today. Thank you. Kane Newman. Dark Matters back. Christian, have you watched? What episode? Is it on the air? I don't know. Right now? Don't you have the screeners? Oh, you don't know if it's all here because you've watched it.
Starting point is 02:06:14 I don't know what I can say. I'll just say this. I'll just say this. I've watched the entire season. I saw the whole season. One episode. It's really great. I got to watch it. I got to catch up with it. Matt Krugman. What if you're a trending playlist was included in one of the tiers. Would people be interested in that? Because I'm, you're making my writing playlist? I mean, if people are interested in that, I want,
Starting point is 02:06:38 let me know in the comments. And I would, yeah, I can definitely do that. Greenie from Oz, I can see Nolan doing a horror. No one's a Kubrick fanboy, so he'd do something in the vibe of the shine. That's a different thing. Like, for me, that would be cool. Lantern's episode three was great. Viva Smet's game's week.
Starting point is 02:06:55 That's right, Griffin's Shaw. Yeah. Got it coming. Joseph, can Christian do Georgia R. our Martin Prussian explaining trending. Oh my God. Not for this one. Maybe that could be something else that we can do, Joe, but not not for today. Jay Morgan, could you add original air dates
Starting point is 02:07:12 on the vault vits? I mean, I see people, I mean, it might just be him, but I see people who comment now, you can go to IMDB and see why do why do we need? It's one more fucking thing to do. Like, why? Why? I'm just curious. Like, why? Armada. Which dude has more aura? Agamemnon or Doom? Well, I'd say Agamemnon, because we haven't really seen Doom's full outfit in motion in a movie.
Starting point is 02:07:41 That's true. Just by exposure, I would have to say Agamemnon. Okay. Lincoln West. I was quiet all last week about it because I am the Cotaur fan, so obviously I'll be back. I'll back Kevin, but people forget Smets went perfect in the IG finale. Perfect. I know, do you know what? I haven't, that is the Shmode-out. That is the spectacular that I have not, I think, ever revisited is the last one. Well, it wasn't a spectacular. It was the last, it wasn't really, I guess it was, was it a spectacular.
Starting point is 02:08:11 I don't remember. I think it was a spectacular. Yeah, it was. So that, I haven't even watched the last one since we, since we aired it. But yeah, I have to go and check it out. All right, let's see. But that was before marriage and before a child, I think. It's true.
Starting point is 02:08:27 Changes. No, yeah. No, he still. a kid at that point. Really? Yeah. Dope Don Designs and he was married.
Starting point is 02:08:34 You know, Christian, tell Craig to check his email. I will. I will. I screenshot it. Barbarian? No. Okay, sorry.
Starting point is 02:08:41 Mitch Matt, 77. My opinion, Gunn is not a good director. He mostly has done ensemble pieces. Even if it's about one person. Why did he sit on Blue Beetle, which was not his style and much better? I mean, but he's bringing Blue Beetle back. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:08:56 Yeah. I think he's a good director. Yeah, I don't know what you're talking. I do too. I think he's a good director. I kind of agree with Roker, though. I think he's, I don't know if running the studio was the best choice. Armada, A-Y-T, can Roka do a Snyder impression?
Starting point is 02:09:12 Johnny boy. Johnny boy, I got a scoop for you, Johnny boy. You don't know what you're talking about. You don't know what you say. That's all I can do. What are we doing here? Yeah. And they don't eat something.
Starting point is 02:09:26 Yeah, huge congratulations to my daughter starting college today. Hey, you're better than your old man. There you go, Sean. Great to see you, Roken Roll. Let's get training. Let's do it. Let's do it. That's awesome. Congratulations to your daughter.
Starting point is 02:09:36 How proud of you. That's awesome. That's cool. That's great, Sean. Mike Mudra, 5489. I just followed the Kickstarter. Thank you, Mike. And Mike, you've had so many great questions about it.
Starting point is 02:09:48 So I'm glad that you did. I'm going to double check right now. Where are we at? We are currently, John. We are at 1487. 13 away. 13 more. 13 away. Come on. Trey Porter, they filmed the Westminsterman last year in my neighborhood,
Starting point is 02:10:00 two doors down from my home, so I got to watch it on principle. That's pretty fun. That's cool. That's always awesome. You always have like a special thing if you're, if you're around there, like, even if you don't like necessarily love the movie, you know. Right. Joey Pett's two jewels, sparkles. Thank you. It's a doc, Doc. Roka, you're to man. Did you go to Notre Dame? Cool hoodie. No, I didn't go. I just, I said, yeah, I went to Florida State of Alumni, but I grew up Catholic and so at a young age, the Notre Dame thing was instilled in me from the getting, yeah. Crash and Code.
Starting point is 02:10:28 Only not super chatting recently to be a saving for the pilot. I love that. Yeah, I realize that too, by the way. And I want everybody to realize that I'm very aware that, you know, people are going to be like, well, you know, we're going to put towards the pilot. I'm not going to be asking a bunch of questions. I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 02:10:43 Johnny B. Nugent. Colony is by the same director as trained to Busan. Oh, that's cool. Oh, okay. I'll definitely watch it then. Go, pal. Richard Gere's son and Cindy Crawford's daughter are currently on the charge on FX.
Starting point is 02:10:53 I've seen a lot of the promotion. Yeah. I'm behind. So I don't know if they're. if their characters get together. It'd be pretty crazy if they did. Would that be nuts? That would be nuts.
Starting point is 02:11:02 Well, aren't they, weren't they married? Are my wrong on that? I don't know if they were married, Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford. I don't know. They were together for a long time. They were together for a long time. They were together for a long time. They were together for a long.
Starting point is 02:11:14 It was a major, major relationship. Yeah. So that would be pretty crazy if they started, well, A, dating, which I don't know if that's like. They weren't married. They were married. Okay, yeah, there you go. DJ, PY, BK, I want to see the Roka Inner Geekdom arc in Shurana.
Starting point is 02:11:31 It was, it was, it was, it was, it was. I never was in the Inner Gingdom, so I don't know what arch I would do in the inner geekdom for God's sakes. No, thanks. I'm not that. I, I, you know, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, Luke or P-L-D? That was P-L-D. Oh. You have to ask.
Starting point is 02:11:52 Come on, you have to ask. All right, that's fair. It's fair. Get out of here. All right. that was really good. Louis Aronta. I would never do an arc.
Starting point is 02:12:00 Finished mall great series. It was. Dennis Haysberg who voices Jackie sometimes distracting. Expect him to see the empire is after us
Starting point is 02:12:05 but you're in good hands with all state. That's true. He's really good in it though but I'm with you but he'll always be Toronto to me. Always.
Starting point is 02:12:13 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Say fuck you Jabu. Fuck you Jabu. Roka. Smet may be softer now but Keough gets so mad when even Smith's brought up.
Starting point is 02:12:22 He's in his head five years later. Still, he falls behind early. He's done. he's just going to you know what he's going to copy this tweet or i know super chat and put it up on the wall that's the thing just never just never can put anything you know pat mike mike you can't we can't yeah he's like uh cammin you can't doubt him people underestimate motivation they go i'm in your head totally that's i'm motivated to destroy you which is why you're in my head guess what drago was in rocky's
Starting point is 02:12:47 head and he won that fucking fight and look smet smet smet's is a beast a beast yeah and the thing like but i just this easy victory and smet himself would say it wouldn't be an easy victory uh ron age okay all i'm dropping my pants and hit into streets gonna blast the beats and spooge little ron h over everyone see it all mor ron h out thank you ron h you're the best uh four more here john joy peddress i think lindloff would be a great dc head his watchman series from a few years back was great too yeah and you know i never saw watchman but i heard was really good yeah yeah i think he'd be fantastic and i don't think he'd make the full pause that james has done wow is that even a thing was that even a consideration
Starting point is 02:13:27 No, no, but I mean, now seeing both of these watchmen and lanterns, I'd hand them the keys. Ioshimatsu, five jewels, go team, there you go. Yeah. If Anne, uh, Chris, Chris, sorry, Chris, Redslaff, if Anne Hathway plays a few years younger in the movie, the twist is that she's Cole and Claire's daughter, she could pass his crew's Kidman Lovechild. I, that would be cool. If it was like, that's why I said that father-daughter relationship kind of thing would be. I like the, I like the Robert Duval aspect, though. I like that.
Starting point is 02:13:57 be meta, right? Because they've divorced in real life, it could happen. Yeah, maybe. Did you just get muted, John? I hope not. Oh, no, you're good. No, you're good. X, X, X, X, X, Kond, Dahl X, X, X. Ridley, Scott Rank is just indicative of how many bad movies he's actually made.
Starting point is 02:14:13 I would have put Body of Lies or Matchstick Men in the top 10 over the counselor. Body of Lies. He didn't do bad. He didn't do those. He didn't do body of lies. He did you do Body of Lies? Did he do Body of Lies with Madonna? No, no. That's a body of evidence is what you're thinking. Oh, okay, body like he didn't
Starting point is 02:14:30 do body. Okay, yeah, body. He did do body. Yes, he did. That's DiCaprio and Russell. 100%. Yes, he to do that one. I'm like, no way. You don't know that story about the car scene. He didn't do my spank bank. He's not my spank bank. No, no. The top 10 over the
Starting point is 02:14:46 counter, but the rank made sense otherwise. Okay. Alex Z. Another YouTuber brought up how Sarandos was declaring theaters dead, like a month before obsession came out. Could you imagine if that was dropped on Netflix, would have a travest there would have been. Yeah, it's sure, like, you know, it's the thing. I want to know what his quote was, Sarandis about theaters.
Starting point is 02:15:09 Was it actually that it was dead in general? But I know what he said about how people like to watch stuff, and he's building up his platform in general. But I think that there clearly is a place for movies. I mean, as you said with obsession. So, all right, John. He said it was an outdated concept. don't think you said they were fans.
Starting point is 02:15:28 I think that's what I'll always. Anyway, all right. What do you got first, John, as we wrap up with 114 questions. Good start to the week. What do you got? Thank you all. Please follow me at the Rooka says on social media. Head over to my YouTube channel, YouTube.com, as John Roker says,
Starting point is 02:15:42 where you get shows that I go live on, like maybe tonight, but also my live reaction to and review of lanterns, which is up now. And then we got geek buddies coming up later on this week. And we got spilled the tequila tomorrow night with Winston A, the hot mic coming up on Friday. and my podcast. The Cinephals there. We did part one of the searchers,
Starting point is 02:16:00 1956 The Searchers with John Wayne. Please, please listen to that, download, wherever you download podcast. Thanks, Christian. Happy Monday, everybody. John, before you leave, just before you run away, this is particularly to you.
Starting point is 02:16:12 So Lorenzo Ramos, hey guys, love the show. I've been a fan since Christian joined AMC. Thank you. John, I was lucky enough to meet you at the Back to the Future screening. Oh, nice for me. Back in the Collider Days.
Starting point is 02:16:23 Yeah. All right, get out of you. Thank you, John. Good, see you, Lorenzo. Take care about it. Thanks, everyone. All right, guys. Thank you, again.
Starting point is 02:16:29 And thank you, Lorenzo, son, again. And I will. I'm going to go on Campi as a three, but if people do have questions about the campaign or anything now, if you want to keep me on the air, I'll stay on with you. If not, then we can say, bye-bye. But Paco, San Manuel, 252.
Starting point is 02:16:49 MVP, thank you, sir. Appreciate that. And look, look at Ed. Ed knows. told more people we can do it let's make it happen is every single person in here
Starting point is 02:16:59 is every single person in here following it if that's the case and you know then it's just a moot point but if not I ask again if you ever watch this show if you get any enjoyment out of these shows please follow it
Starting point is 02:17:14 it is shoot man where September starts tomorrow it starts tomorrow and it's going to be the full-on push to really start to get there. I'm going to start to put the backstory. I told the backstory of the characters the other day. People seem to really dig the backstory.
Starting point is 02:17:35 So we're going to put that on the, we're going to put that out there. And then PLD, I think that I'm not, don't put the picture of Kelly on there, but the one I sent you from me, put that on, and I'll show them that. And then the other one that I have, I'll send you,
Starting point is 02:17:57 which is pretty, um, pretty old school. Let's see this. Where is it? This is hilarious. I don't know if you can see this. I'll send this to you up to a building somewhere. Um, but that, I mean, that's about, that's about it, that's about as 90s of a picture as you can get there.
Starting point is 02:18:15 But that's, that's something I'll probably put up there for him. If I can find it. Hold on. Sorry. where's PLD? Can't find. Oh, there he is. All right.
Starting point is 02:18:25 Hold on. I just sent him this one. Cool. All right. Peel de enjoy that one. It's a little gift you didn't see yesterday. Yeah, it's pretty good. All right, let's see.
Starting point is 02:18:38 Mike, when our show does awesome, what are the projects would you like to work on? What kind of tone would you like to tackle on? Well, I mean, the first thing that I really would like to do, like I said, is that I have been a little bit more inspired than I have been in the past with Shmodown, knowing that, Andrew's a fan of it and what we could potentially do with it is that maybe, you know, we could turn it into and turn it into at least it's a once a year, freaking tournament or something along those lines and put it in to that kind of company. But as far as scripted goes, you know, eventually down the line at this, what I want to do, honestly, Mike, what I really want to do is I want to tell this story.
Starting point is 02:19:13 I have between five to six seasons of this show that I have mapped out my end. And I really want to tell the story of these two characters. and that would be the first step. And I just hope that I am the, you know, that you guys want to see it too. Because if you guys want to see it, then it'll happen because that's really what, that's what it is.
Starting point is 02:19:35 Okay, so Dill the Pickle is already following. Everybody seems to be following so far. I was one of the first to be following. Someone said, Layton, look, Kristen, do you have some kind of short video to promote your show on TikTok? We will. I think we're going to turn a version of that
Starting point is 02:19:50 onto the Kickstarter video. We're going to turn that into a short when we get it to Kevin for short. Joey, I want to make a little video about the campaign. Is there an emotional theme I can build it around? My IG has around 22K and I make content, an emotional story talk.
Starting point is 02:20:07 Yeah, it is. Joey, yeah, man. I mean, like, as I've been talking about with the links between hacks, the bear with a sprinkle of California occasion, the thing is that these are these two people who we were just talking about before like the the arrogance of their success took them away from what was really working and it was the two of them they had really found each other and then it just
Starting point is 02:20:34 as they started to get more and more successful that thing fell apart and then when that fell apart their careers kind of fell apart and they sabotaged and sell well he sabotaged himself more than she did she just couldn't catch the breaks and she wound up having a kid and other things happen though too and and as the tag says it's like what do you do when the worst person for you is really the only person that can save you and it's this idea of trying to for for her and him really trying to stay relevant it's the idea of you know these people who are around you telling you to get your shit together make it work and then all these demons and these old wounds that kind of open up when they're together again and
Starting point is 02:21:19 And that element of it. And who never really let it go? Was it him? Was it her? There's a lot to it. And the idea of the fact that she's trying to balance this and trying to stay relevant again. And she has this 15-year-old kid. And she's got to balance that too.
Starting point is 02:21:40 And how's the kid taking that? So there's a lot to it. There's a lot to it. Okay. Well, there we go. Sam, pilot question. Since Cindy Carverett's kid, Kay Gerber was a, was mentioner. I wonder if she could work for the influencer character or if not enough
Starting point is 02:21:59 comedy range has been shown, but beyond bottom. She was also in the Saturday Live movie, albeit very little, but she would be great. But Sam, it's the same question there, right? Which is, okay, what is her rate to do? Is that influencer character? it's a significant part of the movie. I'm the movie, sorry, the show,
Starting point is 02:22:21 so it's probably the pilot. And really relevant to what is going on with him. So that's like at least, at least, I mean, I don't want to speak for Andrew, but I would say, I would guess and say at least two days of filming. I would guess, but what does that, what does that mean as far as the budget, all those kind of thing? All right, let's say.
Starting point is 02:22:45 So this is an old school photo, but this will be the one. that you're going to see I'm going to basically do because he was pretty arrogant thought he was going to be he was lined up to be a pretty big comic and was doing pretty good things and this is the shot they're using for him
Starting point is 02:23:03 that's that is that's probably around 2006 so it's relevant so look at that long time ago that'll be used to just kind of describe him or when he was doing his thing Okay.
Starting point is 02:23:20 Anymore? So there's that. I shared your Facebook post on my Facebook a few days asking my family and friends to follow it. I tagged you and thank you so much. I really appreciate that. And you're the best. You're one of the biggest supporters from the get. Lincoln West, yeah, he went perfect after a marriage after cancer crazy.
Starting point is 02:23:35 People don't realize how hard there must have been. Oh, 100% it was. No respect. That's not true. No respect for smash here. Are you kidding me? He's like one of the greatest of all time. Joseph Ashley, your character going to wear baseball caps like,
Starting point is 02:23:47 give you no probably not probably going to go more so into the um i mean yeah i think you will but it'll probably go more into this that's why we're that's why we were kind of making sure that you know same thing we're showing the pictures that's kind of a little bit more of getting the vibe between the two of us you know um so that that'll be what it's like um how many roles are going to do the pilot josh rock says trying to think of all the different i mean from bigger roles smaller roles I mean, at least with his friend, I'm trying to go through all. I mean, there's got to be at least 10 to 15, at least, right?
Starting point is 02:24:28 Overall, if not more, I think that's it. Thank you. I had 10 more to go. If you get Jericho and Kevin Smith rematch for Schmodel, that would be great to promote the show. I mean, I don't know if that's going to happen. But again, one of the things I want to do, I want to make sure that people know also that the Schmodown is the,
Starting point is 02:24:47 is the goal. I mean, is the, is the, is a, is a, is a, is a, is a, is a cool, uh, thing to unlock should we hit it. But the goal is the is the, is the, is the, is the, is the, is the, is the, uh, how is your character different from you and what's exaggerated? Thank you, Joe. Well, I mean, so, first of all, they didn't have any kids. And he's, um, and the thing with him is that for me, it's like, I'll know, if I say something stupid to somebody and I realize it, I'll, uh, I'll, I'll say, look, let's, let's, let's talk about this. He doesn't do it. He'll crack a joke on it. And as I crack a joke sometimes to try to like ease it, he'll crack the joke to make it worse. He'll crack the joke to keep going. What's the next one?
Starting point is 02:25:28 What's the next one? Even though he knows I shouldn't say this, but it's going to be a good joke. And he'll hit and he'll keep hitting and hitting and hitting. And then he realizes he fucked up, but it might be too late. For me, I'm like, I don't, I'm not going to say that because this is going to fuck some stuff up. And, you know, he, his thing is that he did choose himself a few times over, when he should have chosen other people. And I think that that's always kind of haunted him. All right. Daniel's pants.
Starting point is 02:25:56 If the community works really hard, then maybe one day, question gets closer to his gym or show in the Jimmy Ellison show. Yeah, maybe it's a red carpet. We need less than 10 to hit 1.5K. Let's see. I'm going to look right now.
Starting point is 02:26:07 Let's see what we got. We are currently, guys, at 14. 7, just 7 of you guys, just following right now. And I'm sure when we get the replay, we'll do it. but I'd like to do it on the while I'm still here with the live stream with you. Let's get the 1500. Let's do it.
Starting point is 02:26:24 Okay. Christian, perfect scenario. If the Kickstarter hits a goal, how big would the cast be for the pilot? Well, I think that's the same question before you're right with characters. It's just a matter of, if you're asking as far as levels of name, that it goes into a matter of budget. So if we overshoot the goal, then Andrew can say, okay, look. We were hoping for this. We made this.
Starting point is 02:26:53 We didn't think we could make that offer for that person. Let's make that offer. Let's do it. Mike, I have 100. Yeah. Real quick, I realize you missed one. Okay, bring it up. Yeah, bring it up.
Starting point is 02:27:04 Pilot question. For the long line, where it is former SNL actor or former, oh, yeah, I know. We have, we have, I just, that, that is the actual written thing, but thank you. No, I do agree with you. You're 100% right. Former is going to be, is going to be in there. 100%. Thank you, Sam. I appreciate that. Okay.
Starting point is 02:27:27 Mike, I have 100% faith in you, Christian, and our show is going to be fantastic. Thank you, Mike. I really appreciate you following that today. Jeremy just followed. And by the way, I'll do that. If you guys just followed just now, let me know.
Starting point is 02:27:38 I'll highlight it right now and just let people know that you just did it. Mike, how did you come up with the characters and their personalities? Well, the characters of the, like, so as I talked about it, it was from like when Bonnie and I did, Bonnie came on to the show and I've told this and I probably had to tell us a million times over. When in 2012, Bonnie came on the show and there was a lot of stuff with the Smote,
Starting point is 02:28:02 Schmo's no audience and they knew I dated an actress, right? So everybody assumed that it was Bonnie and it wasn't. But we played into it. We had fun with it. We had this whole thing and we had a big, you know, thing that we played. We did some bits on the, on the air. And I said, well, how crazy that would. be if you actually actually had to host a podcast with your ex, like down the line. And so I started to kind of write something around it. And then there was a couple different versions that went through it. A couple of different writers that we had. And then I said, you know, it just wasn't working.
Starting point is 02:28:34 And I wrote my own version of it. And even that was like the premise is there. But I don't know. And his version of who he was was always there. She changed dramatically once Martini came on board. because when I was leaving to New York, I gave her the script and she read it. She really liked the premise, but she's like, can we just gut it entirely and just start from scratch? And I said, yeah, let's do that.
Starting point is 02:28:58 And we started to do meetings together for about a year and really together developed who they were and their characters and their personality. Yeah. Okay. Let's see. I'm still going. Hold on.
Starting point is 02:29:14 Eight more followers. Let's do it. Okay. Followed. Thank you, Alan. Appreciate that. So, CJ, yes, and that's going to be one of the tiers for sure. 100%. Joey, I know it depends on how well the campaign does, but in terms of cinematography, are you leaning more towards the bear for that as well? I think I would even say more of the more hacks for, but I don't know. I don't know the, that honestly, that honestly is an Andrew question. That's a freed question. I like both. Both of those tones. In my head, I write towards the bear stuff, and I think he writes more on the hack side. That's why it actually has blended very well in that way. But yeah. Question for the show. What characters from other media would you say is most similar to your character? Any characters come to mind for inspiration trending our show? Like I said, I think that there is a bit. There's a sprinkle of Hank Moody. He's not as, he's not as, well, maybe he was when he's younger. He's not as destructive now.
Starting point is 02:30:15 It was like the Hank Moody was, but he's like that, that kind of thing. He's like, that was, and, and, and inspiration, I've been watching a lot of, um, uh, Bruce Willis from, uh, moonlighting a lot too. Um, okay. I'm just trying to imagine you calling out a bad extra right filming the plot. I'll do my best not to, I promise. Okay. Uh, let's see.
Starting point is 02:30:38 I'm still going so close. Let's see what we got. Guys. I'm going to refresh it right now. And I'm not even eat. lunch right now because I'm doing John's show in like 20 minutes, but I'm hanging out with you guys. 1497. Three away.
Starting point is 02:30:50 Come on. We can do this. Three away. If you film any pickup scenes in New York, I can be an extra, well, wear either my Schmodown shirt, first live event, standard or standard shirt. I will accept a few slices of tallyos of payment for walking by. I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 02:31:05 Mike Mooter said that I think you missed. PILD has been dropping the ball in all these. You're dropping the ball in all. Can you find this? Yeah, I'm talking. Don't try to figure it out. I got a lot of them back, so we'll see. All right, just let me know.
Starting point is 02:31:18 A tornado, hey Christian, how will the show's production impact this show as in will you not be hosting? Well, you're talking about for the pilot, A tornado. The pilot will probably take a little over a week to film. So best case scenario, I'm out a week. Worst case scenario, I'm out two. That's, it won't be a lot. Yeah. Okay, six more followers to go.
Starting point is 02:31:44 Sounds like a character has a lot of regret. Does he have a therapist? If so, no, he does not have a therapist. That's probably one of the things, too, is that he, his jokes are his therapist. And that's probably not the best idea. Yeah. That's probably,
Starting point is 02:31:55 that's probably a similarity, Joe, is that for a long time, you know, when I bottle things up and I wouldn't let, you know, wouldn't talk to anybody about stuff and just, it doesn't go well, especially when you're on the air.
Starting point is 02:32:11 I can speak experiences with that. And I think that's, he goes through that a lot. Let's see. Oh, thank you. No, I didn't check that out yet, Blaine. I didn't check that. I know. I didn't check it out.
Starting point is 02:32:26 I have to, I'm so slammed right now. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Let's say, no. So do I save just to follow? No. So Thron, you got to go to, and it says, what's, what's the word that it says? It's a state, not stay updated, but it's like, not follow this account.
Starting point is 02:32:44 What is it called? It just says it's right underneath when you see it says trending Krishna on TV pilot and right underneath it it'll tell you what you have to do to stay updated. Notify me on launch. Notify. That's what it is. Notify. So hit the notify.
Starting point is 02:32:59 That's exactly what it is. Okay. Ryan, pilot. Overshooting the goal. What's a? Dropping the ball. Come on. I'm in the middle of something.
Starting point is 02:33:07 Okay. Overshooting the goal. Is it more important to shoot the highest quality of pilot or extend out and shoot multiple episodes? Let's say you raise $2 million, make a crazy high pilot or $4 million. Well, I think that if it was $2 million, I don't think we need to make a $2 million pilot. You know, unless you're going to like, hey, unless Andrew said, hey, listen, we can get so-and-so to commit to this series if we do it. And we got to pay them $500,000 to do it.
Starting point is 02:33:33 And then the question is, who's that person? I don't want to say, never say, say never. But to me, in my opinion, it's like, well, if you raise $2 million, it's like, maybe you go, okay, you put a little. little of that towards the fact that some of these people who really wanted to see the shmow down you can put a little you know flare into the smow down but I think what you really want to do is spend as much as you could to make the pilot the best as good as it can be and then see if you can then take some of that stuff sizzle stuff that's coming up for a season two maybe making a couple episodes it's all exciting and I have the answer is right I don't know but I don't
Starting point is 02:34:11 and I don't know maybe and you know that this is something please ask this question again when Andrew's on during the campaign. Because this is the kind of stuff that's perfect for him. And I hope that you guys, he's going to come on live that I hope. I hope the whole chat just bombards him with these types of questions because this kind of stuff that would be great. Refresh. Refresh.
Starting point is 02:34:28 Did we do it? All right. Hold on. Let's say. All right. Currently, 1502, guys, we did it. 1502.
Starting point is 02:34:37 Oh, man. Can you imagine if we could hit 2K by the end of this week? I think we can do that. Shit, I think we can do 2K by Thursday if we do it. All right, let's see. Perfect. I'm going, Saul sent me the clip.
Starting point is 02:34:55 I'll plenty to say Thursday. Please do. Yeah, you got to come in. You got it, you got to come in and defend yourself. Okay, just follow. Mike, when our show is amazing, what other projects would you like to do?
Starting point is 02:35:09 That one we got. That one came up, right? And there's some stuff. But let's see. Any showrunners you'd want to work with the balance ideas off of Jeremy Miller. I mean, right now I really just want to, I really want to creatively work with Andrew. And Martini, obviously, but I really want to work with Andrew. And I just have always respected his work.
Starting point is 02:35:31 And I get along with him really well, I've been friends for a long time. And just watching what he was doing with us on set was amazing when we were doing that, you know, that video for Kickstarter. so when we're actually working with the characters and stuff, that's what I'm excited for. How do you know when to stop creating characters? What if one more character that's the breakout start? It's funny you say that, Joe, because there is a character that is in this script
Starting point is 02:35:52 that we brought in at one point, and then we cut out, and my daughter had read it, and she's like, no, why'd you cut so-and-so out? I'm like, ah, we could combine it with this person. And then we put the character back in, and we're so glad we put the character back in because it was something that was really needed.
Starting point is 02:36:09 So, yeah. Okay. Paul, following now, which is a big deal because they typically stay away from scripted comedians. You do Arnold impressions just as Pablo Francisco. Totally fair. Well, to be fair, I don't think you're going to see any Arnold impressions. I can't say that. There probably definitely be a Gary Busey impression in there from him for sure. Yeah, I know. It's the truth. I know. I saw that too. Joey, do you have a stacked promotion circuit on deck? would like to share whatever shows you guest on. Well, we're going to have, I'm putting together a full list of the stuff that I'm going to be trying to reach out to do, and I should hopefully have a launch of the things I'm promoting on. Okay. Trying to think what else.
Starting point is 02:36:55 Star Wars. Lack of respect. That's two families. It's fair. I want to clarify that I came on and was all about smash. No, you're right. Okay, so if you have flashbacks, do you have to find pay phones? It's not that far back.
Starting point is 02:37:09 Okay. Greening from Oz. Oh, thank you. You could have been become a member. Great. If I hit the chair to be in as an extra, I mean, PLD to take my place. Okay, Green. That's fair.
Starting point is 02:37:21 Follow. Thank you, Thrawn. Appreciate that. I think this is when we passed it at this point. Okay, I'm trying to go through. Save. Come on, three more. We did it.
Starting point is 02:37:32 notify and launch just made an account and followed thank you so much really appreciate that i think that's you hit that that's how you guys will know uh we hit the one five k thank you you you guys are crushing in there everybody who's been helping out so great uh i'm sure i'm going through all the comments as we're it's 242 i'm trying to do what we can do and more questions okay mike when our show does great without a project you did this one already right would you like to do and would you do an animated comedy show? I mean, maybe shoes and beef bringing that back eventually. And would you want to become a voiceover actor and star in movies? No, I wouldn't, I wouldn't want to, I mean, the voiceover thing I definitely always wanted to do, but I know people may or may not,
Starting point is 02:38:14 I don't believe me or not on this. It's like, I really just want to tell this story. I really do. I just want to tell this story and then I want to do my podcast and interview people. That's really what I want to do. That's my, I want to, and that's my goal. And I want to be able to have, you know, I want to have a life where I can take care of my family from doing doing that and just be able to hang out with you guys talk movies do what we need to do and then make a fun show it's really what I really really want to want to do it's funny um okay Scott element so I'm sorry sorry I'm sorry I brought it up before I really hope you can get him to join the pilot once you get the Kickstarter I mean it's somebody that I would definitely potentially reach out to I don't know in
Starting point is 02:38:57 this I'm in this particular I don't know what to bring up to him yet. But down the line, there's so much, so many characters and people that I can write into this show, for sure. V-Rock, five Jules go team. Thank you. Saul, hypothetically, the MTS training would be in New York, right?
Starting point is 02:39:17 The attorney itself, probably not. So I don't know yet. I don't know what, where, what, I don't, I have no details whatsoever. It's not even something I really can think of yet until we find out the launch, you know. Let's see. I'm still reading. Apps Pro. So excited for the pilot Christian.
Starting point is 02:39:37 I know you absolutely hit out of the park. Thank you so much. And that's really, really, I really appreciate that kindly. If no therapist is playing your doctor, no doctor. Would you ever consider writing a book and how you become a writer and how you got into comedy and how you thought about writing scripts and how you got into becoming at the best YouTube channels? Well, thank you for all that, Mike. That's really kind.
Starting point is 02:39:57 We're actually, one of the things that we are doing is, myself and Luke are going to be kind of doing this this thing. It's going to be offered at one of the tiers and then we'll probably do it afterwards too. We're going to offer one of the how to become a YouTuber master class. And it's going to be the debut of the class and it's going to be available only the exclusive to two Kickstarter. So that might be something that you want to do. Danny, what has been the most difficult
Starting point is 02:40:21 aspect of making the show so far and have you managed it? It's getting inmate like anything else, right? That's the thing. The writing aspect and really finding the characters And that's not always the easy part. The easy part is that Martini and I just work really well together. We have a really good chemistry. We understand each other. We understand the characters.
Starting point is 02:40:40 We understand where we want them to go. We've mapped out all this different things. We've put together a great team. And it's the idea of like, look, yes, there is this inspiring way to make these things, right? But it ain't easy. And the thing is, too, what I'm doing right now, too, is I'm running this campaign. I'm the one that's making sure, like, if we're going to get it done, it's going to be because you guys want it to get done.
Starting point is 02:41:05 And I'm taking the brunt of it. And I knew that I had to do that. And the frustrating, not frustrating. Actually, frustrating. That's not a fair word. But like the hard part of it is like, you know, in my mind, I want to tell people and really show them what it is. I'm proud of it. And there's going to be probably anywhere between 10 to 25,000 people that watch this episode today.
Starting point is 02:41:26 And we have 1,500 people, which is a lot of. lot but for me i always i downplay everything i do whether that's a bad thing or a good thing in my head i'm like i have 25 000 people watch i wish we'd have that 5 000 already wish we'd have that 6 000 right i wish people and i and i start to like you know it's the stupid performer in me too i start questioning myself like is that because people don't believe in me is that because people don't you know what do i need to do in order really let them know that like what we have is like legit because it's like it's is this like this is like this story's fucking cool it's a good story the characters are It's going to be some rituals for other writers.
Starting point is 02:42:01 So, and it's, it's that, the aspect's most difficult, Danny is just making it, is getting it made. Yeah. Do you have someone in mind like David B to do the theme music for our show? I don't have anybody in mind to do any music yet for a show because we still have to figure out the opening and how that all, that all works. Yeah. I'm going to have some lunch soon, I promise. I'll probably have to do it quick, but I'll do it. All right.
Starting point is 02:42:27 The main character in the show is he marveled DC guy. Neither. He's definitely not a comic book guy. Scott, for the show, how do you prepare yourself with a vision changing as more people get involved? Does it worry, stress you or does this nature making content? Well, that's why I want to do it this one. Because right now, it's just me, Andrew, and and Martini, right? And it's like, if we put together this thing, and look, and of all you guys are like, the hell with everybody else, just make the series yourself.
Starting point is 02:42:56 and we do overperforming. We pull like, let's say we get super lucky and we pull like, we break the record. We beat what the guild did. And we were able to make our own series. Again, that's going to be a huge story that goes around. But it'd also be, you know, something of like we can just do things the way we want to do it. But there's always people will get involved that will say, hey, you take the meetings going into it.
Starting point is 02:43:20 If you make the pilot in the way that you want to make it. And then you take it to the places and the places go, well, yeah, well, we'd want to do this, we'd want to do that. And you go, okay, we can see that makes sense. Or like, no, that has nothing to do. That has nothing to do with the vision that we have. I don't care how much money can we give us. It doesn't make any sense. Um, yeah. Ayoshi, uh, says, all the people excited for the Schmodeon, I need to donate day one. Don't forget, even if you don't have the money at the moment. Kickstarter takes the money at the end of the campaign. Yeah. And there's going to be some things for Schmode out in general that
Starting point is 02:43:50 would probably maneuver in a positive way as well. Uh, A, so if we hit 2,000 followers, Can we put Countenowski in the escape room together with Penny Barbara and Kermit? It's the most ridiculous suggestion I've ever heard and I love it. Christian doing the marathon, almost three-hour show. Love the pilot. Listen, I'm telling you, when it comes to the day one, I'm going to start at like seven or eight in the morning and go until I fall, until I fall off the damn chair. So let's see right now, we are currently at, I'm refreshing, 1503. Keep on going.
Starting point is 02:44:24 my what made you write your own scripts how'd you come up with the character like that one that one that one i wrote oh these are ones that have restored before okay i say okay joseph ashie do you think your character will mostly get thrown out of the club what would be the reason probably the same type of reason he well it's a longer that's a longer question and i do have to eat lunch soon though but i'll get into that kind of stuff though joe so he for him is that it's probably a joke that he knows he shouldn't tell and see the thing is he doesn't do stand-up anymore he used to. And when he wouldn't get kicked out of clubs
Starting point is 02:44:56 for telling those kind of jokes back in 2006, 2007. Today he probably would because he'd keep going. Yeah. Okay. Let's see. What else? Apps Pro. Oh, first of all, thank you for this.
Starting point is 02:45:11 Apps Pro. The Baron Hacks are also two very good shows and knowing that the pilots aspire by both of those full so much hype and excitement for everything related to it. You go, Christian. Thank you so much. Really appreciate that. Just realize it didn't push the button.
Starting point is 02:45:22 Oh, there you go, go push it. please. Is there a world where after the pilot you converted to a film? No. Nah, this is a TV show. How stressful was making this pilot? Well, the other things are like, well, I mean, we haven't made it yet. Mike, you know, that's the thing. You got to make it. Yeah. Okay. I think that's it for now. Now, I know I have to go. I got to go try to pay, eat something real quick and then jump on Campier's show. So, thank you guys so much. Again, there's a little.
Starting point is 02:45:53 a little slower of a burn today, but we still did it. We still got to 1500, which was big. Woke up in the morning and it was a little over 1,400 an hour of 1503. So I'm hoping that everybody who's watching on the replay, sees how important this is trying to do here. And we're trying to, like I said, I need 13,000 of you guys to put 25 bucks in and we do this. That's it. That's the math. We'll do it. So I'll see you guys in a little bit. I appreciate it. And thanks to PLD. Thank you. This last one here, Scott. Last one for me.
Starting point is 02:46:27 Thank you, Christian. Believing your fans really feels like we have a hand in the show. You do. I mean, it really is. It's like it's contingent on you guys. It's contingent on you guys. Like it's like day one is like, you know, going to be like the biggest,
Starting point is 02:46:40 one of the biggest days of my life. It is. So, absolutely is your show. And like it's like a matter of, do you want to see the story? And I've got to do my job in telling you guys and, introducing you, like I said, to Andrew and to Martini and to these characters as they're coming
Starting point is 02:46:58 through and tell you about the backstory and these other things to say, yeah, yeah, let's check out, see where this goes. So yeah, thank you to PLD, thank you to Luke. Thank you to Roka, obviously. Jonathan. Oh, the Clips Channel. Shit, we've got to remember that. The Clips Channel is back.
Starting point is 02:47:15 This will be the first episode that the, if you want to watch all the clips from this show here today, we'll be, we'll be posting clips. so that'll be throughout the day. So make sure you check that out. So that's why those time codes that Sam and MK are doing for this is super helpful. PLD will send those over to Jonathan. You'll clip those out and those will be on the clips channel. So go and check that out and subscribe over there.
Starting point is 02:47:36 If you haven't, the Shmodown, has the real rejects playing ETC today. That's going to be a good one on the ball channel if you haven't subscribed to that. And then I'll be back tomorrow with Mike Kalinowski and Roxy's back. So thanks again. Appreciate you guys. And we'll see you on the flip side. Bye. it, no.
