Starting point is 00:00:26 Cummins is a registered trademark of CUNS-N. Graham and Hemmy are registered trademarks of FCAUS LLC. Is The Rock going to do another movie where he's going to be a superhero? Is he going to be, I don't know, a hero with J.J. Abrams? That's the rumor. That is the rumor right now that he's going to be working with J.J. Abrams on something superhero related. Is that a smart move, good move, bad move?
Starting point is 00:00:50 Well, we'll figure it out. It's me and Mike Kalanowski. Steph bailed on us, but we'll figure it out. Here it is. The Rock, he played a superhero. Dwayne Johnson has revealed on Instagram he's been developing a project with J.J. Abrams. This has raised the obvious question as to whether we'll see him
Starting point is 00:01:09 potentially added to the cast of Abrams next directorial effort. Glenn Powell, Jenna Ortega, starring in the film, rumored to revolve around a young married couple struggling to survive against a supernatural entity. It was previously revealed to have last Starfighter vibes and is a fantasy film that is a throwback to the 80s cinema. Johnson wrote in the caption, which accompanied a photo of himself and Abrams.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Years in the making. We finally broke bread. We drank. We laughed. We talked life stuff, love stuff, dude stuff, and took our time chopping up our passion for movies and storytelling. Then we raised our glass and toasted two. Yep, this one is going to be fun.
Starting point is 00:01:41 JJ and DJ from the mind of Zach Penn. Penn wrote such films as Ready Player 1, Free Guy and The Incredible Hulk. A potential production start date hasn't been revealed yet. Yeah, this, I don't think is going to be a superhero thing. I don't even know where that came from. That, to me, for even where... another hero thing where they even i guess it was another one in comic book movie news where they said
Starting point is 00:02:00 potential hero whatever it could be um but no i think he's going to be in this um this jj abrams movie that he's doing's fantasy one would be last starfighter so playing another hero more more so than anything else um or he could be the villain i don't know what do you think about that i think this is a good this is a good team up it's i'm torn on the rock i really am he for the longest time i'd say let's say four or five years ago was one of those guys that like i just He wasn't a big fan of his movies. Like, they go, he, every time he shows up, it's the same thing. And he looks the same outfit they made that meme about.
Starting point is 00:02:33 But as a person and how he was, I just was like, I love this guy. Like, I just love him. I want to have a beer with him. But then through the whole Black Adam and DC thing and just to see that he's a businessman, you know, he really is. And just kind of a nasty side of it. And then that whole story with the piss bottle and all that came out. And again, care over. I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:02:54 I don't get excited for a rock. movie like it's not and it like I like the rock back in the day like the rundown where he was not just this massive caricature of himself and and like this this red one movie oh my god i'm hoping it's like in the cast that's in it i know it's fantastic all like people you love but i watched that the trailer and you felt the audience anytime i see it with an audience they're just like what the fuck oh here's the follow-up um by the way this is on it was on comedy is is So it's been a rocky, no pun, 10, a couple of years for Dwayne Johnson. First Black Adam bomb derailing his hope to take change with DCEU.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Alongside Seven Bucks Productions, he later returned to WWE, but faced the wrath of fans when he tried to take Cody Rhodes' place in WrestleMania. The trades have also questioned whether Johnson is still a box office straw with at least one making wild claims about his alleged habit of peeing and water bottles on set. Now, through WWE's final boss has taken to social media to tease a mysterious project. he's working on with J.J. Abrams. Here's in the making. We said that. He concluded by saying, comes from the minorzac Penn, yada, yada, yada. Well, nothing has been confirmed.
Starting point is 00:04:03 There's speculation online that this might be a superhero project of some sort. While it's unlikely to be Marvel or DC, the mystery title could be Abrams, Penn and Johnson's chance to make it for past failures. Abrams plans for his Justice League dark slate of projects fell by the wayside at Warner Brothers. Penn was pushed out of the MCU by Whedon, and Johnson's Black Adam Treams came to not. if this doesn't give the pro wrestler an actor an opportunity to suit up again, we'd bet on it being a high concept action blockbuster, given the talent involved. It's been five years since Abrams stepped into the director's chair, so this might mark his comeback after a recent focus
Starting point is 00:04:38 on producing. We'll see what happens. Okay, so that's where that that portion of it again, news that could potentially be, hence why you put it in the thumbnail. So there's, I think that this is a it's interesting. I think they're definitely going to wind up. You don't post that if you're not going to do something with him. Yeah. What was the, but wasn't he? Okay, so isn't he doing a movie now about like the life of a wrestler or something? Like it's Yeah, yeah, not a wrestler. Yeah, UFC. The smashing machine. It's like a real well it's an eight. It's an eight 24 movie. Yeah. I got the name of the director, but like it's like it like, oh, the director's really going to pull some great stuff out of them. So yeah,
Starting point is 00:05:18 you know, I'd cheer for him. I really like him. But I like the old school. where it wasn't just like hey i got to have a certain amount of hits in this movie and i can't get punched and i can't look bad and i'm like yeah it's penny saffey is doing yeah that's a yeah was it not screen gems uh uncut jams yeah yeah 824 though yeah okay is when he's doing so um sure sure that's a good that's a good point that's a good point um i think the dog is is coming through with some facts but i think that it's it's going to be a good um i think it's a good um i think it's a good good collaboration depending as long as they don't have him kind of lead the whole thing too and it looks like it's going to do more if it's got you've got jenn or tega and and who was the other
Starting point is 00:06:00 jenn rtega and who did they say up top of it um glen powell so that's an interesting combination all three of them yeah and you can see already glen powell and the rock kind of going back and forth at one another and they're either going to be friends like you know like i i'll tell you what i'd prefer to see that i'd prefer to see like a you know whether it's a uh a uh a a back and forth buddies together. Not like, not the one, because what you probably get for the predictable is that Glenn Powell will probably be the wise cracking guy
Starting point is 00:06:33 and the rock. Almost like what's his face, Tyrese and Rock were in fast. It'll probably be like that. That's, you know, that's, you're never going to have them to,
Starting point is 00:06:42 I would like to see them together. They're buddies and then cracking jokes on other people. That would be good. Or who knows? Maybe not cracking jokes. Maybe there's two badasses. and in cracking wise as they say that's right so um yeah and then you know you mentioned the superman stuff could potentially be shown um what do you think about that picture of of crypto i thought was great
Starting point is 00:07:01 yeah you liked it yeah that was great i saw your tweet about it you said that you're you're you're feeling like it's really gonna it's gonna work i do i just feel like and again you know there's the haters out there that are just you know stuck in the past but i i just think this is something different you know first time we've seen crypto and again it's such a small thing but it seems like he's every we see Superman it's like all right we got Lex Luther all right we got General Zod again and it's like he's really trying to push into the world of Superman and build out not just Superman but the world of it and his supporting cast I think it's in a really good spot I think would you dog like chime in about the would your dog like to chime in about crypto he's jealous he wasn't cast
Starting point is 00:07:40 makes sense yeah yeah this is because it's the color of his fur yeah understood um so it's gonna be um yeah i i just don't I just don't I just want It's just to me it's like how does it play? Does it play goofy or does it play like the dog? I mean, who knows? I don't know, man. I'm hoping that it plays well. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Because you could, that could be an issue of super a super dog in general. Yeah, I get it. Tom Holland is talking about Spider-Man 4. That's been in the news a lot. You think there's going to be any news in Spider-Man 4? Probably not, right? I don't know, dude. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Well, here's this. We talked a lot about this last week. We did, but there's a little bit more to the story. Yeah, yeah. I don't think they're going to announce anything at the show. I don't either. Especially after these comments. The other week, Shung Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker,
Starting point is 00:08:29 Destin Daniel Cretton came on board and entitled, Fourth Spider-Man Film for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. That was followed by a report suggesting filming is aiming to commence in the UK in late May with additional casting now underway. There was also talk of disagreements between Sony's Tom Rothman and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feigy over the story. One thing is certain. Tom Holland will be back as Peter Parker for his fourth solo outing.
Starting point is 00:08:57 He's also shooting this and the next Avengers film around the same time. Spider-Man No Way Home scribes Chris McKenna. Eric Summers are writing the script and speaking on the Rich Roll podcast. Holland offered an update on where things stand. He said we have a creative and a pitch and a draft, which is excellent. It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Andaya and I sat down, read it together, and at times we're bouncing around the living room.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Like, this is a real movie worthy of fans' respect. At least it sounds like progress is being made, but a line about more work suggests quite a bit of the script is still in flux. How long is expected to spend much of... How long? Yeah, right. How long is expected to spend much of next year shooting the film? We don't know. We don't know the answer to that.
Starting point is 00:09:44 But, yeah, it seems like it's a priority is what it seems like. It seems like it's a priority. It seems like they want to get this done. It seems like you're sitting lower than you were before. How about now? Better. And it seems like they're really making this something that. And he does seem to me like it's not just BS when he said,
Starting point is 00:10:06 no, no, there were some things this is going to be true to it because he knows it'll bounce back on him if it isn't. So I'm excited about it. I just, I hope it works out. What's your like, what do you? you want it to be i want it to be ground street level i want it to be it's not it's not going to be i wanted to be leading up to the daredevil no yeah they're going to and that because well especially after the whole rumor of the sinister six thing where they're probably going to really put in uh andrew garfield and holl and and and uh mcuire and and make it of the three of them again
Starting point is 00:10:41 and and overcook what they did last time um they're going to they're they're going to pressure Marvel into doing that so they can do more movies and I think it's a mistake in the same way I think don't think it's necessarily a really good idea to to try to shoehorn in another Deadpool and Wolverine so oh dude do we when did that news draw the other day we talked about the other day why oh yeah why the whole point of this move I mean I know why because the execs it's like I made a billion dollars audience loved it got to get what they want yeah but you're like the movie was a perfect ending like and again if you if you watch that movie you tear it apart, it makes zero sense.
Starting point is 00:11:17 It's like, you're like, what the hell's going? What? That means what are they doing? What? You like that movie? I did because it was a good time with the movies. Yeah. I don't need. I every movie has plot holes. Anytime people like, ah, the plot holes. I don't care, but was I entertained? Sure, I had a great time. Too great.
Starting point is 00:11:33 I saw it twice. I'll probably buy it. But he walks away like, hey, I'll see around. Nah, probably not. Done, done. Yeah, my question is, I just don't know where does it land? Beckman's going to be Wolverine from now on in the MCU. It's like, come on.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah, but that's my, that's my questions. Where does, where does this land? Right? Because if they're going to put Deadpool and Wolverine 2 or Deadpool 4 after the Avengers movie, then it seems to either lend to one of two things. It's either that it's going to continue to be multiverse stuff, which they've said they're going to stop the multiverse after that, or it means they're going to land in the universe where the X-Men are.
Starting point is 00:12:12 and then yeah Hugh Jackman will again be Wolverine, which I think is a massive error. I think it's a massive error to have him continue on as the MCU X-Men. That guy go live his life. That and it's also, it's like give somebody else a chance to shine and do the role. Yeah, agreed. But then he's the one that wants to keep coming back when he read the script. And he's like, because after Logan, he was done, he was like, we did it.
Starting point is 00:12:33 We said everything we wanted to say at the character. And he was the guy was like, hey, I called up Ryan and said, I want to do it again. Like so I'll say this, no matter what the plan. are I think if Hugh Jackman's calling up those guys saying, hey, I want another show. Let's go again. I want to play again. They're going to do that. I think that will trump.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Hey, we've got a great story. You had your time. I don't think they would do that. I think they would go with him. Yeah. Probably. Yeah. And it's also because the studio note is, hey, we need to make money again.
Starting point is 00:13:02 And you know when you're going to see that really move fast is if Captain America bombs. Well, the screen. Are you segues into another story? I mean, we can. The screening. the test screenings. They had screenings and it's not good. Well, the test, some of the, you're right, some of the word came out that it's, the same problems that were there before are there again. And this is after
Starting point is 00:13:22 reshooting a whole movie. Right. They said, yeah, you reshot the movie. It's still all the problems. So that's not, that's not, yeah, so there's probably, that's probably another reason why they're like, it's this thing's not testing well. We got to find another hit. This movie, which one? There's so much retesting and different cuts between trying to save. It's going to be one of those movies where you watch it and you're like in one scene the guy's hairs one way and the next yeah wearing a wig right like i think the last time i saw something with that was the predators predators the shame black one oh it was the last one yeah yeah the cuts in that like wasn't that the predator room wasn't that the predator i don't remember i don't know i don't know
Starting point is 00:13:59 no you don't i just watched um romulus again we did it for a you know we're doing the reactions on the channel so we just shot that sam and i shot it and we it's going to be out on I really like that movie. First half I love. Romulus? Yeah, and then it devolved into the same alien chasing woman in a small spaceship. Oh, that's fine. I mean, I don't mind that as long as it's as long as he still care about the character.
Starting point is 00:14:25 I thought Kaylee Spaney was great. I thought everyone was great. Yeah. But it just always seems to be like, what is it about aliens and the whole all of them, Covenant, Prometheus, these ones are just like, by the end, it's got to be the lone woman against the lone alien. And it's just like, change your third act because your first two acts were great. The cast, the Android, the flip. I think I thought that the Ian Holm, once I got used to it, I was fine.
Starting point is 00:14:51 But the first couple shots of it, I was like, what the hell is this going to be? But I love, I enjoyed it. It was a good time with the movies. It reminded me of prey, a smaller budget. Yeah. Set in the world. Keep making those. That's what I mean.
Starting point is 00:15:04 That's what I like that. It's like Fedia Alvarez's style. But now, isn't there another alien movie? coming TV show or movie that's like set on earth or something? I don't know. I thought it's like coming like alien invasion or alien. Probably. Probably.
Starting point is 00:15:18 It seemed like it was like almost ready to. That's what I'm saying. It just seems like there's a lot. I don't know. You're right. There's just a lot of. There's so much stuff on. There's a lot of stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:27 There's a lot of stuff I should tell you guys about because I've talked to you many times over about both Joy Mode and Mando. And I'll tell you about both of them. Starting point is 00:18:27 Smell good and work good. You know what I'm saying? Mike, you know, the other thing I was going to ask you is, were you a saved by the bell fan? Well, yeah, I mean, yeah, I hear what you want a little fun fact for your crew? Yeah, sure. I had auditioned for Saved by the Bell, the new class.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Oh, really? Kind of far in it. Really? Yeah, it was the new class. And I was kind of right when I first started acting. Wow. Yeah. You're pretty far.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Oh, shoot. There were two movies early on that I got kind of, I want to say close on, but, and Empire Records. Oh, did you really? for which role uh i want to see it was the kid with the the black turtleneck with kind of like the hair comb forward oh okay again i was young i probably was terrible i probably shitty audition the same way that saved by the bell didn't care about your acting it was more of a look right so i was in in miami at the time oh wow yeah yeah yeah so well there was another one
Starting point is 00:19:23 no no this was all a smoke screen no i asked no i had mark paul gosser on the show yesterday oh yeah he was on i like him he was he was he reminded me you he's as grouchy as you are but in a great way. For found, was he talking about found and stuff? We talked about found for quite a while. There was one show he did. It was pre before found. It was him and a little girl that I really liked.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't remember too much about it. Well, he's got a beard for this one, but no, I know which one. Yeah, because he talked about that. But no, we talked about Jiu-Jitsu. We talked about, I wanted to talk to him about. Jiu? Yeah, he's a big Jiu-Jitsu guy.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Ooh. Yeah, so we talked about that. He was, I say Grouchy, he was at first. He was, he was, he was. He was just, no more grouchy than you and me. But yeah, in a way where we were, why I really got along with him, he's just like, he goes, he doesn't like going to the movies, and like being around people, you know, because he's always to behave and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:20:19 And, um, and sort of related to that. He's a guy like you would, so many, so many celebrities and actors, you walk on the street and you, they stand out and some blend it. Like he, you would, anyone would know him because he would, his face has been around for so long. Yeah, he's been active for like 35, 40 years. Yeah, yeah. There's all generations that are discovering him now that have no idea what's saved by the bell is. Yeah, we talked about, we talked about quite a lot.
Starting point is 00:20:43 So I'm glad that people got a chance to check that out. We aired it when we were airing it live. But then people have gone back and checked that. It's on the channel now. I'm hoping Luke's going to do some of the shorts for that one too. I have a clips channel that I've been putting, you know, interview clips on. It's just one of those things like this. I run out of time every day.
Starting point is 00:21:01 That is the one channel. I try, dude, I tell myself, every day to try to get videos up on that channel. I just can't get. I don't, that's the one thing I can't get to. It's like I wake up and I have all the stuff I do leading up to this show until 12 or 1 o'clock my time. And then, you know, because I did both reactions to the last week's,
Starting point is 00:21:19 Agatha with my wife. She came in. We watched both episodes five and six. Sent that off. Next day I know, setting this up with you. And then I'm going to do some UAP stuff. And then I got to run out to the city and I don't have any time to do the freaking thing.
Starting point is 00:21:32 So it's like I have so many clips. I have stuff from Katie O'Brien. I have stuff from Michael Emerson. I have stuff from I'll have stuff from Billy Magnuson. I have so many clips that are going to live on that channel once I get to it. So we'll see. You know, there's a smile was the other one I told you about before. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:51 So the first one came out. And I guess I'm part of that. So smile reviews are in. I have not put my full review out yet. I'm going to do that probably when we get off the year. Here is the story about the reviews thus far. They're in for Parker Finn's smile to the upcoming sequel
Starting point is 00:22:15 to his supernatural thriller of 2022, which is a surprise hit. That grossed 217 million worldwide with a $17 million budget. The new film tackles a different story as while on a world tour, Global Pop Sensation, Sky Riley, played by Nomi Skye. begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressure of fame, Sky is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life
Starting point is 00:22:39 before it spirals out of control. Kyle Gowler reprises his role of Joel from the first film, the new cast. Reviews are in and on par with the first one. Rotten Tomatoes has a sequel at 55 reviews, sits at 82% compared to the first films 80% on Metacritic. It's a similar story with 65 for the sequel compared to the 68 for the first. Here's a sampling in the review quotes. Smile, too, is more of the same, a lot more, but it's just as scary.
Starting point is 00:23:02 And this time, it's feistyer and funnier, proving that the premise has legs and also some eligibility. That's William Bibiani. More than anything, this sequel is proof of the endless versatility that could turn Smile movies into an October box office fixture of decades to come. Still, there's much to be said for director so encumbered by timidity, and the sequel will leave plenty of horror fans grinning from ear to ear. So I seem to be on the same page with a lot of people here too I don't agree with Bibiani that it's scarier than the first I don't think it's really that scary at all the second one
Starting point is 00:23:36 There's some creepy things I think that Naomi Scott is great in the movie She's really really good is this particular scene in the car that I thought was just next level acting is really good I also agree very much so that I think they're setting this up to be a long-going franchise to where you're gonna remember Where oh yeah which one smile two smile three smile four are they is it a a horror franchise what is it it's a horror franchise so the first you have clearly haven't seen the first i'm not a horror guy in no i'm not i'm not either um and i because i knew i was seeing this movie i did a uh watch along or a reaction to the first one with my friend tina and it's a real
Starting point is 00:24:13 and that's the thing though is a lot of times i just find them they when it when a horror movie when it's not for me it's when it doesn't seem fresh it seems like it's been done a million times over you can kind of predict what's coming um and And I'm not the overly gorely, gory person, right? Like the terrible person. That's not for me. But the first movie was clever and it was different. And there's some gory stuff going on and in the first one.
Starting point is 00:24:42 But it's really creepy. I like the way it was shot. I like the low budget feel of it. I thought that Kevin Bacon and Carrie Cedric's daughter was great. She reminds me to Clark Wolf, by the way. But she was really, really good. And she kind of carried the whole movie on her shoulders. And I really enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:24:58 The problem with the second one, as much as, like, because Naomi Scott is, she's a presence. I like her. Oh, me too. She's a presence. The problem is it starts to, and this is what's going to happen, I think, with this franchise in general, if you're not a horror fan, right, it's just, it's the same kind of, and Bibiani said it in his review. It's the same kind of predictable stuff that you know is going to happen.
Starting point is 00:25:17 But if you're a horror fan, it's why you go in the same way you mentioned before with the alien things. Like, you know that that's going to happen in an alien movie. But for you, you want it's something different. But if you know, yeah. Maybe maybe that's the thing. Maybe I'm wrong in that in a sense that like these filmmakers, they know like, hey, we've got to give these audiences.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Right. We're going to do some new territory in Act 2 and 1 and 2, but Act 3, we've got to give them what they want. Like that to me is why I cannot stand the Halloween franchise. Is it Halloween with Michael Myers? Yes. Those three new ones. I like the first one. I like the first one.
Starting point is 00:25:48 I like the first one, that first actor two and he's at the asylum and he breaks out. I'm like, oh, this is cool. Then the second act, it's him slow. walking through a neighborhood killing people. I'm like, Jesus Christ. Yeah. But again, I'm not that audience and you got to give your audience that shows up every year for those what they want. Got to do what they want, man. William Shatner said that best at a Comic Com panel to Brett Spiner. They put Brett Spiner on the, you know, William Shatner. You ever hear him talk. Who, Shatner? No. Spiner. It just said that man can control a room like no business.
Starting point is 00:26:22 And he's people are eaten out of his hand. Yeah. And they ask the same same question. Brett Spiner like to follow up and Shatner looks at him and he's like, whoa, go ahead. You got to give the people what they want. And like the audience died because Brett was like, his response was nothing compared to Shatner. Yeah. Well, yeah. I mean, it's true though. So you go, well, there's certain times.
Starting point is 00:26:41 It's like going to see a band, right? The band might not want to play the top hits, but they got to play some of them. They got, we want to play the new stuff. It's like you play the new stuff. People get pissed off if you just play the new stuff. At least tell me you've seen the video of Frankie Valley. Oh, I've seen, I've seen that he's just, he's still like, it's almost like the poor bastard. He's lip-sicking at all, but he's like, you got to get to put the both there on.
Starting point is 00:27:04 You got to get the same songs. He's out there. Right. Right. Right. And so it's, it's, but that's, I guess that's the, that's the point. So right. And in done, so that taking all that in, smile too does that all very well.
Starting point is 00:27:22 So if you're, if you're going to be someone who's locked into the smile franchise, you're going to be very happy with this movie because there's this one there's one I'll just say there's a scene with dancers that took me out of it there was this particular scene with dancers I and I think and from hearing from Bibiani the way he looked at there's and and I think that some of it is intended to be funny and this scene was a little too goofy for me and okay and she because poor Naomi Scott is running around with the eyes open like this and this goofy dancing thing is happening and I'm like I'm like I'm not I'm people who are laughing and I think they're supposed to be laughing and I'm like i'm like i'm like this is taking me out of it um but but i enjoyed myself watching it
Starting point is 00:27:59 i enjoy my you know it was it's i get you but like i said the scene to me that was the most powerful there's a scene in the car with naomi scott that i was like wow she's really yeah people they're bringing it like for me like this type movie i don't even pay it real much mind but then when it gets the word of mouth that this one's getting and and that praise that makes me go oh you camera your camera is awesome by the way it's just so so good i love your car i love it's just so good it's just like what happened it's like it's like it just froze again stupid thing i'm i'm gonna have uh i don't think it's my camera i think it's the connection i'm hardwired into a landline here it's terrible you're terrible listen you're you're
Starting point is 00:28:39 you're you do this every week and and your professional actor up your setup will you set up is terrible it's terrible i tell you that because you're my friend you're a terrible set up I even like everyone loves hearing you talk they love you on the show I talk to my even Galaxy Geeks Luke he's like you gotta do something about Mike set up like I'm trying I've been trying
Starting point is 00:28:58 I got the guy a damn camera and I don't have the camera I know gotta get Brett it's got to get Brett over there it's frozen again freezing why is it doing that because your camera sucks that's why it's not the camera
Starting point is 00:29:09 the whole thing sucks you suck hey I'm not the one freezing and I figured out my problem Jason what the fuck is going on your mother fucker yeah that's right you move your dogs are you go talk use your mouth i'm trying to fucking smack you that mouth you can't do shit you're too far away bitch ass you little bitch ass trick
Starting point is 00:29:30 you froze anyway look at you froze anyway um all right let's go to the my favorite and then the audience freeze like mr freeze over there come on come on what killed the dinosaurs the ice age the ice age great microphone by the way okay so let's get to the next story here. Streamers to be impacted by the FTC ruling. The various major streaming video services, they're all set to be impacted by a new rule from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. This is dubbed the Click to Cancel Rule. It was issued on Wednesday and will go into effect in approximately six months. I think I might like this. What is this? I don't know, but I think I like it so far. The ruling requires businesses to make it easy to cancel subscriptions and memberships
Starting point is 00:30:16 as it is easy to sign up, specifically saying the cancellation method must be at least as easy to use as a sign of one. I like this rule. Also required will be consent to convert auto renewals and free trials to get paid enrollments
Starting point is 00:30:30 among other things. The rule also prohibits requiring consumers who signed up through an app or a website to go through a chatbot or an agent to cancel. Oh, I love this. I love this. The ruling impacts all businesses with subscriptions
Starting point is 00:30:44 and will heavily impact those who go out of their way to make signing up easy but canceling an account or subscription a lengthy and difficult process. More famously, gyms, telecoms, and certain retailers. The rule comes as a streaming service aimed at Lash customer. Churn rate, subscriber retention has become a critical factor as growth of the streamer sector has slowed in recent times. Meanwhile, the motion pictures association and a joint filing with the Entertainment Software Association has opposed some provisions of the rule. They call it unworkable in many respects and claim it will do. little to protect consumers from the minority of bad actors that engage in the most
Starting point is 00:31:19 aggrarious forms of deceptive negative option marketing um sure but i still sure at the end there but you can say that but why not give it a shot i love this i love this what do you have a hard time canceling stuff um it's not no i because i have rocket money to be honest that's going to say yeah they're not even they're not even they take care of that for you they do For me, I've had, I mean, they're not even sponsored today, but I've been using Rocket money for so long that I don't have to worry about that anymore. Yeah. But when it comes to, but I still think that streamers should absolutely give that option of,
Starting point is 00:31:58 do you, what do you, do you still want to do this, stay up, cancel? And like, yeah, you know what? I hardly even use this. And the fear is, if it's in front of your face and you see cancel, you might actually hit it. But yeah, it is so hard to do they make it purposely so hard to cancel. You got to go through different steps and all these different things. It's a pain in the ass.
Starting point is 00:32:16 So I, I, I dig it. And I, and I like the idea for gyms also, because gyms are, are, are painting the ass for that stuff too. So that they are. Yeah. So that's, I think that's a great, I think it's a great rule. And it's, it's a shady business. It really is. So I like the rule.
Starting point is 00:32:33 You don't like it? I, I don't care. I'm torn because I know, I want it. I think it's smart, but I'm just trying to think, I don't think I've had, I'm trying to think of a situation I've had where I've tried to cancel where it gets tough. I'm yeah I don't got a lot of stuff out there like that yeah I'm hoping to people yeah dig it and it helps people so um I don't know I'm curious what people think about this if they think this is a good move or not put your comments in or tell me what you think uh here is the here's another story here do you I forget do you watch shrinking I don't know that's the
Starting point is 00:33:12 Harrison Ford it's a good show man it's really funny I haven't watched season two yet because it just came out yesterday. So Jason Segal is a psychiatrist, and he's kind of going through the stuff. His wife has passed away. He says, now he's a single dad kind of messed up, trying to figure out how to connect with her again. Yeah, and he kind of comes up with a new way to treat his patients, right?
Starting point is 00:33:38 And he starts to spend more time with them in not a conventional way and probably not a legal way. And he starts befriending a lot of them and doing these things. and Harrison Ford is his mentor and his boss and, you know, and it's just, it's funny, it's hard. Harrison Ford, I think, put out one of his best performances ever, dude. He's hilarious. There's one particular scene I quote all the time where he's, he got, he gets too high,
Starting point is 00:34:03 and he winds up crashing at the house. And the next day, they're the cooking, and you don't even know that he's there because you don't realize he slept over and they're cooking pancakes. And, and so one of the patients who's hanging out with, with Jason Siegel and it goes, does anybody want some pancakes? Harrison Ford pops out of nowhere. Fuck yeah, I'll have some pancakes. It's so good.
Starting point is 00:34:24 It's so good. He's fuck, yeah, I'll have some pancakes. It's so good. He's hilarious in it. And so season two officially underway, but apparently they loved the fact that two came out. They like the way they came out because Apple TV has officially renewed Harrison Ford, Jason Segal-led comedy series shrinking for a third season. The news of the renewal was announced Thursday at New York Common Com. The order comes as just the first two episodes of the latest season are streaming on Apple TV every Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Okay, so there's the, that's that story. Now, toy company Mattel is developing Viewmaster, a live action film about its framed stereoscopic image device for Sony pictures and escape artist. Todd Black, Jason Brum, with the what, what? Do you know what this is? No. Okay. You set a movie based on Viewmaster. Yeah. that gives me a Christ
Starting point is 00:35:16 yeah I don't even know what that is you know what that is yeah you come on what do you put up any click them oh is that what that is that what that is yeah a view master a view master wow they're really making movies about anything huh yeah and it's like I get it you're probably gonna click on it like what's this world and I'm sucked into the view master and now I'm in a view master you know it's so funny you were I was trying to figure out you're frozen and that's wonderful
Starting point is 00:35:39 I was trying to figure out um uh on the I'm part of the the critics choice and they um the cca and they they we have the screeners and everything now and there was a new one that came out i was trying to sit in my wife like i said oh what's the new one that just dropped last night and i couldn't remember but then before we started shooting you told you told me without even realizing it's a superman doc the christopher reeve doc oh so you have i haven't watched it yet did you did you watch it yet i saw it in the theater dude yeah did it did it destroy you dude it was myself and like there's two other dudes like a couple rows off
Starting point is 00:36:14 Yeah. And I think we could hear each other crying. Yeah. And what I loved about this documentary was there's so much about his life I didn't know. Yeah. I didn't know he was married. Well, he wasn't married twice. He was married once, but had two partners with two different sets of children with three or two different women. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:30 His father was interested, like, you know, but then I'm not going to spoil for you if you don't know about his wife and stuff. No, I want to, I want to check it out. I'm going to check it. Yeah, it's great. It's really, do a real nice job on it. Yeah. Yeah. I'm excited to see it. Christopher Reeves to this day. Christopher Reeve is my is is to me the embodied what Superman was he just yeah and they showed so many clips from Superman and they don't they don't overdo it with Superman stuff it's not just him and Superman but you're just watching him and you're like I don't think any other actor has embodied a character like that like he did even as much as I love Keaton as Batman you just see him and it's just like Superman
Starting point is 00:37:12 yeah yeah i can't i'm looking forward to seeing it um so another story there was yesterday someone brought up and i really know the context of it i looked a little bit more into it and i guess the the lead actress of wicked kind of tweeted because i guess they're oh yeah this is an interesting story so i think that the story it's uh and if i don't know if somebody can put the link into the description then to double check i know what it is i from what i know and correct me if i'm wrong it's the fact that there was some fan art that lead actress found disrespectful and it was like what it was like some sexual stuff and other things like well no i didn't see so the thing is the first of all i thought it was a studio released art okay but it was fan art
Starting point is 00:37:51 and all he did was take the movie poster which shows both their faces very clearly and make it look like the theater poster where the wicked witch's face is covered in shadow except for her lower mouth and is that the one is that yeah and she's upset because it says it it hides her identity it hides who she is and and rightfully so and again this is a tricky line of the discourse i didn't get any discourse online about it but like the fans are like it's just an homage to the poster he's not trying to erase you as an actress or or or you're being seen for your color or whatnot and someone made a very good point like you're painted green in the movie so if you want to talk about erasing your identity there's that whole elephant in the room right like all this kid did
Starting point is 00:38:38 Okay, so making an homage. All right, let me read it. Wicked is beloved. Yes, it is. It is a beloved musical. Let me get poster is a great poster. Well, here's the story. Here's the story.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Cynthia Arevo criticizes wicked poster being fan edited to hide her face, calls out, is your P-Green memes offensive and it now that's the thing that I thought. Now that's bullshit. Now, if some,
Starting point is 00:38:59 if that's what she's talking about, then I think she has the right to say that. No, no, she goes into. Okay, all right, let's let me see. All right, hold on, hold on. She's speaking out against wicked fans who use Photoshop to edit one of the recent posters for the upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway musical Universal release
Starting point is 00:39:12 a wicked film poster this month that evoked the original Broadway poster with Ariana Grande's Glinda whispering into the ear of Arevos alfaba, Elfabba. Elfaba. Thank you. Elfaba. Only the film poster had a few tweaks, meaning lifting Afabas hat so you could see Arribo's eyes. Wicked fans loyal to the Broadway musical flooded social media after the poster dropped to
Starting point is 00:39:33 issue Photoshop corrections with Elfelba's hat being lowered and her lips getting a bold red lipstick in order for the film one sheet to exactly match the Broadway one and she found such alterations hurtful this is the wildest most offensive thing i've seen equal to that awful AI of us fighting equal to people posing the question is okay so she's she's equating that to that i disagree with that we're uh percent yeah like the ones about is your something green yeah that's that's disgusting um the original poster is an illustration i'm a real life human being and chose to look right down the barrel of the camera to you the viewer because because without our words, come on.
Starting point is 00:40:10 I mean, come on. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Again, I thought it was different. I thought the sexual stuff is disgusting. That's horrible. She's ever right. This is a fan art thing to match the poster.
Starting point is 00:40:22 To show how much they love wicked, they want your poster to look like the original. Like, there is, come on again. But like, she really kind of went down both barrels on this thing. It's not a good look for this film. It's not smart. It's not smart to do. My eyes for the camera and this.
Starting point is 00:40:38 This poster is like, yeah, fine. And we're going to see the movies there. And it's like, it's a cool. And I'll be honest, the fan of it looks better. It's a mysterious. Yeah. It evokes. There's tone to it.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Her just looking at the camera, I'm like, oh, it's two photoshopped actors faces. Cool that we've seen 50 million times. Yeah, I don't know. It's a bad. I don't. I think, here's a thing. Yeah. I think at that, I think at that for, if I'm at that point, if I'm hurt, you can go in and say to whoever
Starting point is 00:41:05 is running the shop, like, look, I saw somebody's, scenes the fans are doing. I'm not a fan of it. I understand what they're trying to do. They're matching it. This bothers me. I'm just letting you guys know this. I'm not going to say anything about it, but what are you doing? Because those people are these people, these particular people, it seems like, weren't doing it to be hurtful. They were doing it to match the Broadway thing. Like that's your target audience. Yeah, the sexual stuff, F those people. But like that's ridiculous. I think this is, I think this is a mistake to go after the target audience because they're, they're, they're going to feel hurt more so than anything else. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Like, that's like, yeah, it just didn't make sense to me. Yeah. Um, not good. So what do you guys feel about it? How do you feel about it? What say you? Put your comments in there. Mike, you're at 28 so far.
Starting point is 00:41:51 28. I don't know if you're going to catch. I don't know if you're going to catch rocks. That's a rough one. I mean, look, I will say this. I will say this, though, that, that Steph had about 35 or 40 going into the question section when she hit the 100. So you never know.

I wear them, wear them all the damn time. So I hope you guys check it out. All right, 30 questions now, Mike, coming in hot. We're moving, buddy. We're moving.
Starting point is 00:44:01 So we've got to see. Can we get there by the time we hit the end of the show? I do not know, but we'll find out. All right, the first question is, and you know what I'm also going to do? What's that if I see? Because we started memberships. So if I see questions from members in here, too, they light up a different color. I'm going to highlight those as well.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Roman Fedorak, hail, happy and grateful to be here. Steph, I loved your reaction to the mummy. Steph, good job, Steph. He thought she was going to be here. I first saw it when I was seven and it gave me nightmares for two weeks. damn Beatles. You know, as funny as I saw that right, I think we were in college, Mike, when that came out, and I just, I was,
Starting point is 00:44:41 I never really got into it. I always thought it was kind of like an indie, it thought it was like an indie wannabe. I was, I think I saw it the summer after I left college. I was down at Sawgrass Mills Mall and Florida, South Florida. I enjoyed it. Yeah, I thought it was 99, but maybe I'm not. It was 99. It was not. You were, you were gone
Starting point is 00:44:59 at that point. I was 95 to 99. I thought we graduated around the scene. I don't know. You're a year after me. No, I thought I got I grad, when did you graduate? May of 99? That's what I just said. Yeah, I was this, you know, I stuck, I stayed in, I stayed for the show. No, no, no, I graduated in 98.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Oh, I stuck around for you. Oh, you stuck around. Is that what you did? Okay, okay, okay, so that makes sense. All right, so cinema fan 324. Is Steph excited to see Smile 2? We'll have to ask her. I mean, if she said, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:45:29 I don't think so. I don't think so. Mike Joyce, what's a movie you showed your, family that they didn't love as much as you did Caddy Shank I showed my family hereditary the other day after X-Mis the other the year it came out yeah what is there one that you showed
Starting point is 00:45:46 well my parents are big movie people they like going to the movies yeah by them like I don't we don't sit around and watch movies we just don't you know so what about is there anything that you showed Shannon that you were like you're so excited that she was going to like she said it sucks no because I know her tastes so you know now what to show her and whatnot okay i'll say this here's one that we no i took her to that i didn't think
Starting point is 00:46:09 she was going to like but she loves the original suicide squad oh wow the david air she she but she is a a big music person okay and that's like that she love like birds of prey like i knew birds of pray she would love because the music she loves good you know needle drops okay so that makes sense she loves that first suicide squad wow does she really she does hey she's the one she's the one person that's it she's one that made it 75, 750 million dollars. Did it make that? Is that how much it made? Yeah, that thing killed.
Starting point is 00:46:39 Wow. I guess Luke TG1, Steph and Mike, the best team that ever teamed. Oh, that's sad. That's sad. I mean, that's why they bailed today because they didn't want to see you up to you because you've been a turncoat. You show up sometimes for stuff, sometimes for Roxy. Dennis Hoffman caught up on the Billy Magnuson and the Mark Paul interviews.
Starting point is 00:46:59 Two of your best ones yet. Thank you. Yeah. I really enjoyed talking. talking about both those guys man Billy Magnuson as where I said on with him what's that uh we talked bond a little bit yeah we talked bond yeah I asked him if he knew that I liked they were gonna if they were gonna kill him off if they were gonna kill you know if they were gonna do something big in that thing and he said um he said yeah we knew we knew what was gonna happen and I was like sometimes I don't leak
Starting point is 00:47:23 that stuff you know sometimes they keep it kind of tight and so I talked about that I talked about road house he was so the difference of him and Mark paul is that I think Mark paul was just He didn't know what to expect kind of going into the interview and just was I think his guard was up just a little bit for the first for the first like two or three minutes and then then it came down and he and I had a great conversation really enjoyed talking to him a lot Billy was I when we started the conversation it was like I You would you would assume he and I knew each other for for 20 years from the moment He's one of those guys that I had no idea who he was and I discovered him in a movie and it was Aladdin He's great in the Latin like I'm watching that movie and I'm like who is this guy that I've never seen before? Yeah that is like upstaging everyone in this film.
Starting point is 00:48:05 He's great. I talked to him about that. I talked to him about, you know, I haven't aired it yet, but Matthew Lillard has a great story about the descendants. It was funny because we're, as we're goofing and we're talking.
Starting point is 00:48:18 He's in that, isn't it? Yeah, he is. And I taught anyone, right? Yeah. And so I brought it up to it. And I had a brain fart when I was bringing it up. And I caught myself, you'll see it when I bring it up.
Starting point is 00:48:27 I go, you know, one of the movies that I don't know if anybody talks to you about, that I loved you in was sideways. and was the same director and I bring it up and I hear myself say it and I go that doesn't sound right and he goes sideways and I go no I know that's not the one and he goes he goes he goes I'll help you out the descendants he goes he goes I wasn't going to help you out because I took that long ride but I decided to help you out and we talked about the descendants and he has such a great story about what how he got that role dude as an actor I encourage you to listen to that story it is it is one of them
Starting point is 00:49:00 now I've been doing this for a little bit talking to people it is one of the most inspiring stories I've heard as an actor because then you hear what he was going up against what he thought what they were looking for ultimately how it came to be it was it was really cool I enjoyed the story a lot um the sound show you were up to date on your clips I could just watch the clip this is true I know far behind you are those things I should hire you to do it yeah right yeah like I got fucking time I don't know what he does Jesus yeah um yeah yeah I'm going through it's so funny I'm going I'm PTSD as I'm going through these comments from before because it was as the sound was not coming through and so make it funny yeah no they were doing what I would have done too I was just pissed off when I was going through it's like it's like it's like just the same thing is like just leave me alone when I'm doing it leave me alone look at you leave me alone while I'm doing it's like and then you see 100% and they should do they should do what what they were doing there's not there's not one person it will except the turds that we threw out the room but there's not one person that was doing stuff like oh no see like that guy like I got to
Starting point is 00:50:01 get really like now see that's what I'm doing see there's now I go back and I'm deleting people who were who were morons the people who are having fun with it I leave I leave them in there um all right we got some more like people who are laughing and having a good time with it that's those are people who I like other people are turds all right so Shay Markell Christian I'm dying at you cooking the chat it's like I was I was look sometimes And as someone, Max Cohen said, Christian needs a Snickers bar. Yeah, I did. I didn't really eat much either, too.
Starting point is 00:50:31 So that'll help out. Let's see what else. We've got a few more here as we hit 31 now. Mike. Kyle, Christian's allowed to have a bad day. Let him cook. They'll let them cook things. You hear that the, were you here for that the other day?
Starting point is 00:50:44 We talked about this? The thing that you're probably with me. There are things that I can't stand like the new hip size. Oh, yeah. We're talking about like, let the guy cook. Let him cook. Yeah. My big one is we are, we are eating good. Oh, yeah. We are eating good right now in DC.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's wild. It's wild. It doesn't bother me. It bothers me. It's like, because it's like, because it's not, because there was something that, because Wild has been going, I heard recently from like, 100%, but the problem is I don't like when people just glom on to whatever they think everyone else thinks is cool, right? That's everyone. I know, but it drove me nuts. Like I saw it even like, like, girls are going to be like that soon. which is because people can't think for themselves.
Starting point is 00:51:29 And the same way, the Star Wars thing that drives me nuts is a science. I see people that we know what hates Star Wars, boy the Star Wars fan. It's like, would you read that in a tweet five seconds ago? Now, you have to make you. Because someone does say something great. And then they glom.
Starting point is 00:51:42 Then they glom onto it. And it's like, yeah, it's the worst. You've tainted it. Nobody hates Star Wars like Star Wars. It's the worst. I saw somebody that we used to do stuff with doing. I'm like, that's where you're going with, guy. Come on.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Derek Johnson. it's amazing i turned the show on and man christian with a nice classic cuss out let these assholes happen sometimes you got to let it go oh my god the dog in the background is now the icing on the cake they're great yeah and now he's all quiet now he's just sitting there all the dog yeah right right yeah uh shea markell hey mike have you read the new absolute batman it's pretty sick i have it i have it actually i have not read it yet because i've got a stack of comics but i'm excited i got to give it to it's pretty sick i'm looking forward to absolute superman man in this new universe i'm sure coy has sure yeah coy's in new york he's all he's gonna get here
Starting point is 00:52:30 he gets here tonight so i'm hoping i can try to see him while he's here um yeah okay so shay also follows up and said there's a new award season film in the works and the script is getting oscar buzz dr jackal and mr christian i'm gonna be front row first day and people i guess people like that um so we are going to keep going and now we got mike joyce and says you guys have crushing you lately thanks for all your ever thank you mike mike's a guy's been here with us for quite a while Derek great i love crypto but it always plays goofy there's just no way to get around a dog with heat vision who can also fly but hey i'm gonna wait until the full version comes in i think that that's the problem right is the second you start seeing the dog fly how do you not get a laugh in the
Starting point is 00:53:14 theater what context is he just sitting up there at the you know fortress of solitude or is it his dog that lives with them like i i don't know i mean because again There hasn't been a live action crypto. I mean, Smallville had them, I think. Did he? Smallville had them? Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:30 I think so. Okay. Yeah. Maybe you won't have heat. I don't know. I don't know. Mad Sinister McCall. Super Harlov's enemies for Cosmic is leafblower man,
Starting point is 00:53:39 Mike's neighbors, lawn care, bathroom stinker, annoying moviegoers and the chat trolls. They're the Foot Clan. Yeah. Makes sense. That's pretty accurate.
Starting point is 00:53:49 It's pretty accurate. Let's see. We have another one here. and that oh so nerds engage is a new member so any comments of the nerds engage puts any questions that nerds engage puts in there i will highlight also we launched the membership uh last week so we had quite a few people join uh has the rock lost that superstar shine a little bit in the movies his new a 24 film is supposedly really show off his acting chops that's from derrick so i think that the answer is yes as far as he you know people were saying at one point that he was boxed off as
Starting point is 00:54:19 viagra and then he was all these different things um i think that is war off and that happens with anybody that's been around for a little bit. But I don't think his charisma wear off because that's who he is as a human being. And I think that if he can bring that forward in an act, he does need something to shine the acting chops. Because Dave Batista is getting all the love as far as the actor goes. And I think that he can really step it up if he has a good performance. And what he did that was smart.
Starting point is 00:54:44 He worked with Emily Blunt before in that, what was it, the Jungle Cruise movie, yeah. Do you see that? I saw like the first like 45 minutes and I like. it but I was watching my daughter. We never went back to it. But from what I saw, I enjoyed it. But what he did that was smart there was he had a good time working with her. And he
Starting point is 00:55:02 made sure that she was cast I guess the back and forth, I guess his wife or whoever in this. And so he's comfortable and she's a great actress and she's going to bring out some stuff. So I think it's a good move and he if he gets some buzz for it and if he gets an Oscar nomination for it, which who knows
Starting point is 00:55:19 if he will or not, but if he does, it's a good career move. What do you think? I do. I do. Yeah, I think go smaller. This, this Oscar buzz and the talk of it. And yeah, man. People love, they love him, you know, and whether it's a lull right now or whatnot, he'll be back on top before you know. Armada, Denny's or Waffle House. Well, if I'm looking for a sporting event and I want to see two people get into a Mad Max fight, Waffle House. I haven't had, I don't have a, there's no Waffle House is in LA, so, but I am a Waffle House guy. I, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a, I love them. Denny's is Denny's. I mean, it's, you know. Yeah. Well, one of our members.
Starting point is 00:56:00 It's good when you need a greasy spoon. Nerds Engage. His great interview. Spread out nicely. It wasn't just one note. Thank you, man. Appreciate it. And thank you for joining up on the, as the membership.
Starting point is 00:56:09 He starts and says, Sky Riley, great pop star name. I agree with that. I really, I bought that Sky Riley was a pop star name. And she, and that's her strength is that she's a singer, Naomi Sky. So, I mean, Naomi Scott. so that um that worked that worked for me um and then we have Pete Parker 2288 Naomi Scott is gorgeous and talented I wonder why she hasn't been in more movies she has been Charlie's Angels was pretty bad but not a career in her she's been and she was in
Starting point is 00:56:41 power Rangers which didn't do very well and I like that I liked her and then I like that I really wanted that power Rangers to do better I do better do more of those it was they got really screwed on that well the people know people went no one went to see it but I I agree with you I liked that movie way more than because that power rangers was way before uh after my time um oh yeah way after and i was like i don't know if i'm gonna enjoy this at all and i went really liking it i thought everybody had that that movie was good yeah the dacre montgomery was really good in it i thought it was good um so she's she's she's been in she's just been in a bunch of stuff like she was aladdin she was in we just talked about aladdin she was she was in that and that movie
Starting point is 00:57:17 made it like a billion dollars whatever it was close to it um so she's definitely been in stuff that's work but she hasn't had that role yet that really has elevated her right she's super talented she is gorgeous and she's um and i actually i interviewed her at fandango didn't we schmodeown yeah yeah but she was the only one she was the only one that wasn't there becky g was there was there dacre montgomery everybody else was there yeah she was the only one that wasn't there i forget what she was doing that and that was before the movie came out they were that was right they were promoting it so we did it we did a power ranger schmowdown yeah yeah yeah um pete parker 2288 what's a movie Mike loves and you hate I'm sure there's tons of them take take your
Starting point is 00:57:58 pick man I'm sure there's a ton I'm sure there's ton of do I don't hate BBS you know no I don't hate it I just I don't think it's very good but it's a great but but um no hate no that's a strong word um but in the same way that like dune one and two I love you don't love those I don't hate them I don't know we'd have to really dive into that as far as which ones we like if there's ones that you love that i don't know i don't know if there are i think there's one's more i think more on the part what we just talked about we're just like he he'll probably love something i'm like damn it's fine i don't think there's ones i don't think we're that far off that you know because we both love flash gordon so there you go um yeah and that meme that was going around
Starting point is 00:58:41 flash oh that moment in the shmone with me yeah the shmode oh christ is a poor bastard i remember i remember i was so mad at you i was i don't know if we've talked about this on here i I was so was it. It was Snyder, right? Snyder. I was so mad at you because you had a chance to, you would have been the first person in Schmodeown history to potentially be triple belted. It's never, it never happened. It never happened. That just goes to show you, you know, I know people for a long time. Thought it was fixed. Oh, it's scripted. If it was scripted, it was scripted, you would have went to New York to play Paul Yamma and won the title.
Starting point is 00:59:15 In my head. Yes. You got to understand the thought of being triple belted. It's here. And I get a flash Gordon question. one of my favorite movies of all time like there was no it was mine it was mine yeah it was mine yeah it was yours you had it to win and i remember but the good thing about it was as crushing as that could have been yeah because it was such a good fuck off oh it was great moment but i remember like i was like there have been moments where no i've lost less yeah but been more hurt about it because there nothing can no that was my that was you you'll never if you're going to lose lose in style and you lost you lost in style. I remember, I just remember in my head going, this mother, he's going to New York. He's going to New York. He's going to play. It's going to be in my head. I'm going to know what happened was. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Because Snyder still had to answer a question, but you asked him his five later. You go, hey, this is what was on the cards for your next. And he would have lost. Oh, you would have lost anyway. He still had to answer his five. He would he would. He would, he would. He would. He would. He would. He told him as like, hey, this was the yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Would you have gotten it anyway. And he would have lost it anyway. Just to just to test. Just to see. Right. Right. You want to see. Like, would Because you would have hit it and you would have right. So either way. It was either you beat me or we would have gone. You know, you were going to win because I remember in my head going. I remember my head starting to think of how I was going to market three belted champion,
Starting point is 01:00:33 potentially if he beats Oiyama, can he do it? And I'm in my head going, oh, the New York thing. We had a big New York venue. It was like, sat like 600, 700 people. And I'm going, oh, this is going to be massive. And then you did the flash thing. And in my head, I, it was like payback for the for the Peter Parker moment, whatever that moment was in for smet's oh yeah yeah that that class don't tell peter don't tell peter
Starting point is 01:00:57 uh anyway and aran am aran ambrose superman lois season four goes hard everyone's quite literally leaving it all on the table for the writers to the actors the first three episodes this season have been phenomenal and very emotional i hear nothing but great things about this show yeah it's one of those ones i've watched it i've loved it but i just have not been able to catch up and i'm so far behind but i will get it i'll i'll sit back and watch that whole season the all four i have to i might have to check it out man um Pete Parker 22 8 do you like mike's camera or coy's mic uh coy's mic better than mike's camera yeah because coy at least sometimes he's better coy just melt his camera melts out sometimes and like his
Starting point is 01:01:37 i don't like when he holds the stupid thing we got to get him but well you know what the saying is in the entertainment industry you can forgive a bad camera what you can't forgive bad sound it's true what kind of phone do you have you have a good phone on i phone there might is a most recent one. I think it's like a 13S. Oh. We'll get Brett over here and get my camera. Shut your mind.
Starting point is 01:01:58 All right. All right. So let's see. Nerds Engage said the one that makes you answer the riddles from the bridge troll is ridiculous. I'm sure which one. What do you mean? And it's not his fault because I don't think he realized I was going to highlight his comments. If people who are members, you get your comments highlighted. So Derek Johnson, I wish they would create that single cancel option for all services instead
Starting point is 01:02:20 of just streaming anyone ever try canceling facebook it's like a year wait for the account to go away that's true they should do everything yeah like things like that i don't even think about yeah right they should absolutely do that um we also have my space accounts somewhere somewhere hey you got 56 by the way buddy you're 57 you're moving not bad no bad at least i'm not and i can be embarrassed by that you're only you're only like a little little more you got a chance to catch them Aaron ambrose Christian, the show deals more with the family aspects of Superman Clark's life, but as incredible Superman moments. I like that. Would love a reaction to at least episodes one and two, it's your kind of show.
Starting point is 01:02:57 You know, everybody tells me, and I love Superman. I just, I guess unfairly, and I'll start with that, unfairly, I always just, the CW shows, is it a CW show? It was, but it wasn't part of the CW Aeroverse type thing. It was its own thing. Yeah, it's just that, that, the way that those shows were always. I always felt that it was a particular way that it was shot that always seemed kind of campy and cheesy. As an actor, I should be more forgiving of it.
Starting point is 01:03:22 Yeah. But it just, you saw the purse strings, you know, of shows like that. And there's nothing against that. It's not the, but I know a lot of the writers on these shows. I know a couple actors. And like, I've met Bitsy and Tyler now quite a few times and gotten to know that. Tyler's a nice guy. Tyler's really nice.
Starting point is 01:03:41 Decently well. Yeah. And outside of an acting world. And they're incredibly like Bitsy's, I met her like three times and hung out like at dinner with her several times gone to after parties with her and just such a wonderful person. And you know, I think the fact you think Superman the biggest icon of all time on a CW show, it's kind of like. Right. That's what I'm, I get it. I get there's a stigma with it. There is. They, they unfairly, unfairly.
Starting point is 01:04:06 Smartly make the set the show about the home life and not the big exploits in Metropolis. That's a smart way to handle the budget and whatnot. Okay, so now we have Bradley Pooper. I saw Joker 2 and I loved it. I don't get the hate. Hey, more power to you. I'm glad I don't I don't hate it. I just don't think it's a good movie.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Yeah, that's a thing. It's a good story. I was just bored out of it. Pete Parker 2288. Rank the Terminator movies. I actually like Dark Fate. I'll rank the one the way that I can only do it. One and then two.
Starting point is 01:04:44 They're the ones I could never watch ever again. I'll do one, two, salvation, dark fate, three. Three. And then I guess Genesis. You're not counting. And you're saying one and two. You're saying two and then one? I said one, two.
Starting point is 01:05:03 So you're the same. One and two. Then salvation. Got it. I can't even do that. Dark fate. That's the nice. Dark fate, that's the problem.
Starting point is 01:05:10 If we had not had three through Genesis and they did dark fate, great. Yeah. I just think I didn't say it was it's not what it's time you can't keep going back to that well and every time it's like well Cameron's put a stamp on this one yeah it's the same conversation genesis too and that's a turd yeah it's the same conversation that we've been having a million times overdue it's just like it's the way I was I was going back and forth with david and be no last night on text and we're just talking about like the just the state of the business and what the business like nobody really knows what they're doing right now and the way that
Starting point is 01:05:40 they're making movies in general we were talking about a joker too and you know that the fact that that Todd Phillips and walking Phoenix before they even shot anything those two guys alone cost the production budget probably close to like 45 million dollars i want to see blumhouse do a terminator movie that's what i said i said a twenty million dollars eight twenty four eight twenty four eight twenty four eight twenty four eight twenty four eight twenty four eight twenty four eight eight twenty four eight twenty four do uh derick the great i saw the fan art for wicked and it was a recreation of the original poster way too overblown on the discourse i happen to agree that's gonna blow back at her i think i think it already has i think it already has i think it
Starting point is 01:06:16 already has now but I think once we get closer to the film that's going to start rearing up again and yeah yeah I that's not a good move no I think it's a bad move and and and before your movie comes out have you did you did you what look at all this stuff that happened Rachel Ziegler and that's no white thing what are you doing I'm flummixed in the fact that like it's it's it's the people that love that movie trying to recreate a cool post like they're not trying to erase you like yeah oh man it was that's a that's up there are hills to die on I know that ain't the one Derek the great says how much do we got to donate from Mike's new camera? Apparently the chat wants me to buy one for you.
Starting point is 01:06:53 You got one for me. It's here in LA. I have it for you. You know what he needs? No, I'll tell you what he needs. And this is more, maybe we,
Starting point is 01:06:59 you need a new computer is what you need. Your computer. Is it the computer? Yeah, you have an old. I got a back. How old is that back? Be honest.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Four years. In tilt. It's, it's, and how it runs. That's, that's what I had the problem with is that's why it freezes and stuff for you. Because it's like,
Starting point is 01:07:15 and Roxy is another one needs it. okay all right um i'll be getting there we'll get in a computer Derek puts support and yeah you're at 65 dude you're moving mike you're moving what's the limit what's the hot you got to hit 80 you got to hit 85 to win oh like what time we at we're we we so far you got about another 40 minutes man oh come on now you can do this come on gang patty boy me hanging patty boy can mike can mike join the hundred club i don't know i don't know uh mad sinister mccall beth snider ivan muted mics on k-h-h-h-show yep 100% mike joyce have you heard of al-tuna pizza looks so gross no i don't know i don't think so he didn't follow the
Starting point is 01:07:54 al-tuna like it's in tuna fish al-tuna is what he said i don't know i don't know what that is but i don't want to do you know you were mentioning burbank before with the you know they opened up a big pizza place right across the way from amc and in the you know you know where they used to yeah yeah let me tell you so i was out there the other night and i was walking it was kind of close i was looking at the food places it's amazing to me the amount of places that have closed on that wall of restaurants and then have reopped like it's I don't know if it's probably it's probably the rent well this is a yes exactly what it is and you gotta have the you have the quality stuff this you got to have
Starting point is 01:08:24 something that hits I saw a bunch of people it's been there forever it has been and I saw and it's a go to and they have old cold stone but they have that um they have a new pizza place there uh so you know I was just talking to some of the other day I'm killing dying for some good pizza try it's apparently it's like it's apparently they have like Chicago style in New York I can't tell you whether it's good or not but i just see i'll check it out then and i'll report yeah check it out sun zu what's up fellows mike let's argue real quick all of the mission impossible movies are over the are over the bond movies just comparing the bronson and daniel craig attitude tom dalton is the goat bond though i grew up on license to kill you're not going to argue with me on this one man yeah
Starting point is 01:09:06 i'm a dalton guy he's my favorite yeah he said but i will agree mission has surpassed bond right now talking to someone about this the other day yeah we're talking bond and and i think bond is in a a good place right now where they're letting it lie just not they're not hyping up who actors they're looking at they're not hyping up directors they're going after our storylines they're just letting the industry kind of do its thing a couple more years we'll get another one and it'll be because you know Craig to to uh uh brazenen to Craig it was yeah five years yeah and they just kind of and there was a little bit you know they're going back to the base and they kind of did a refresh.
Starting point is 01:09:45 I think they're figuring out right now what's the angle. What do we do? I don't think it's going to be a woman. I don't think they'll do that. They won't. I don't think they're going to go younger again. I think they're just going to. Who do you think it's going to be?
Starting point is 01:10:00 I don't know, man. There was a while there where I really wanted Henry Golding. Okay. I really like him. And it was a nice. Then Richard Madden was my choice. But all of these. We're getting to a place now.
Starting point is 01:10:15 They're so far kind of letting it lie that they'll have a new unknown that'll come out of nowhere. And I want another Craig, you know, he did layer cake and Road to Perdition, but he wasn't and Tomb Raider, but he wasn't, no one knew he was. I love that. And he made the role his. Yeah. So I'd like to see that. Okay. But if they're going famous, Aaron Taylor Johnson, I think would be great.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Francisco Lopez, D.C. Studios should take over New York Comic-Con the way Marvel Studios owns San Diego Comic-Con. Why do you think that New York Comic-Con is not as big as San Diego Comic-Con? Do you think it is because New York is expensive? No, I don't think it's because New York is expensive. I think that because San Diego is so much closer to Los Angeles. That's it. You fly your actors there for, they could be there that morning and leave that night. That's part of it.
Starting point is 01:10:59 And there's also easy for the studio and everybody else and the PR people. And it's only an hour and a half, two-hour drive for people to do it. It's all right there. The hotels, the food, it's all right there. Mike was talking about when our sound was off, but like there, San Diego, the way it's stretched out, as Mike was saying, like the bars and everything, it's all like, it's like a little, the town becomes San Diego Comic-Con. It's like, I mean, the hub of everything is entertainment weekly and they take over the hard rock.
Starting point is 01:11:26 Yeah. And it's right across the street. Right. I'm sure with the jabbits, I'm, it's just a convention. They might have a hotel, but it might be five, six blocks away. And then it's, you're not going to turn New York. You're not going to turn New York City into a Comic-Con the way you turn. Like, San Diego.
Starting point is 01:11:38 That's going to be like an inconvenience. Yes. This thing's going on this weekend. Right. San Diego becomes. They become the whole weekend. The whole weekend becomes Comic-Con. You're not going to turn.
Starting point is 01:11:50 And look, I'll tell you tonight if I'm wrong. But from what I, you're probably going to go to Javitt Center and the things around it, you're going to feel it. But once you stretch out even like two minutes away, it's going to feel like New York. And like WonderCon, like when you're down there, even though it's Anaheim. But once you're in the convention center, it does feel awesome. So it doesn't it? Javit centers like that.
Starting point is 01:12:09 But it doesn't mean that you still shouldn't. I think he's right about D.C. though. I think if I'm D.C. and I go, look, they're not going to fly everybody out here, Marvel. Let's fly everybody out there. Let's go to New York. Let's make a big move. I think you're right, but I don't think they're in the place where they've got enough to keep going. That I agree with as well. They don't. Not yet.
Starting point is 01:12:30 They could have the creature commandos cast come out and they could have. And they could bring Aaron Pierre on to talk about. Aaron Pierre and Superman and Kyle. And Kyle. No, not. But Landren is still so. Well, you just have a talk. like hey we want to tell you what we're doing but that's can't right and then you're superman stuff and that but it would have to be brief next year yeah two years from now then
Starting point is 01:12:49 it's a different ball of wax I would say but I agree that four years from now I would take over New York Comic-Con if I was three four years from now I think they take over Comic-Con dirty mother Talzan I'm pretty sure I saw Mike at universal over the weekend what a cool job probably there were you there over the weekend yeah if he's in the chat did he see me was it at the purge? If you did it, if it was during the day, I was probably Norman. If it was at night, during Halloween, I was doing the purge.
Starting point is 01:13:16 Yeah, you did see me then. You're at 79, my friend. You got a shot to do this today. T.C. T.C. Sores. Hey, team, I was wondering, do actor and director salaries count towards the movies reported budget? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I was just saying before.
Starting point is 01:13:30 So Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix alone ballooned Joker to budget to over $40 million before they, even shot a frame. That's why I like something like Red 1. Rock. Right. Chris Evans. J.K. Simmons. Lucy Lou. Like your budget's $50 million right there. Yeah. The real red five. Just seen Wild Robot and Transformers one with the kids. They liked Wild Robot. I thought it was mid. But we thought Transformers was bad. I thought it's a bad. I thought he said bad. I was like,
Starting point is 01:14:01 what? I got to see that. I haven't seen it yet. Question. Bad Asetron. Now that if you get, if you seen the movie you'll get badass atron question are transformers robots or aliens both they're both the robots and aliens um they're alien robots but uh yeah i liked wild robot i'm going to be doing a i'm going to be watching i'm trying to figure out who i'm going to be watching it with i was supposed to watch it with tina she wasn't able to make it yesterday um and then i had my wife assigned to it she's refusing to watch it just doesn't like animation she doesn't like animation she doesn't so she's refusing to watch it i'm like come on and she and and so i'm going to probably have my friend Sam, how's your hat? You want us to see the inside of your front?
Starting point is 01:14:40 Just shut your mouth. So we'll see. Derek Johnson, in the photo, the dog was on the moon with Superman. I'm still going to give it a chance to let Gun get his vision across. Yeah, crypto was like too, man. I can breathe in space. You can breathe in space. Haskell 420. What's how bad? The New York Common and Com new Marvel banner is cool. And Daredevil, Born Again costume, but they'll probably do some daredevil stuff here hopefully yeah hopefully makes sense right oh d20 they did do d23 and they did do a lot of television i remember at the comic con that was the talk like movies are going to be here
Starting point is 01:15:14 and it was tv and they did do a lot of tv at d23 plus the frank grillo trailer wherewolves looks really really good i hope it is i saw that they came out i didn't see the trailer yet nerds you ever interviewed grillo i think you and him i did as i said that i thought so yeah we we interviewed him at collider a lot uh nerds engage he gave away somebody he gave away a membership to somebody. Thank you, man. He gave another one. He's giving away memberships left and right. Look at that. Richard Ocourich. What's up, guys?
Starting point is 01:15:43 Cracking me up today. Thanks for all the fun. Thanks, Richard. Look forward to James Gunn Superman. Me too. That's one of my most, I highly anticipated ones. Very much looking forward to that. Yeah, next summer, it's that in fantastic form. That's going to be a pretty damn good couple weeks there. Hey, Derek Johnson says,
Starting point is 01:16:01 how does Mike feel about Henry Cavill in the Voltron franchise? I'm indifferent because we the first kid cast was a kid and now as far as I knew they were all kids and the leader so I don't know what role he's playing is he the bad guy is he I probably I think he'll probably be in the lead they'll probably change if he's like if he's like an old retired you know yeah living life you know sucks life sucks and I'm not Voltron anymore and these kids have to come along and that's kind of cool story that's something maybe they haven't seen in the Voltron universe.
Starting point is 01:16:35 I like Cavill. I like him as a person. I like him as an actor. I just think he's an actor to me that needs a good director. Yeah. Because, you know, certain movies he just doesn't hit for me, but then he does like Mission Impossible and he's just so damn good. Right.
Starting point is 01:16:50 Like, you know, you just need. I think he's a good director. Patty boy, Kalanowski looks like he has heavy hands. Well, I wouldn't know. I had him set up for a boxing match against somebody. Does that mean I'm a fighter? I got heavy hands? And you bailed.
Starting point is 01:17:03 I remember that. your mouth. So nerds engages is handing out memberships. I love this. How nice. How nice of a, what a nice guy. It's been handed out memberships left and right over here. Nerds engage. And then Cooley, hi. Cushley, buddy. What's up? He's the best. That rant was awesome. I got tears. Mike, keep going. After that troll on X. I haven't laughed like that in a long time. You're going after someone. I don't know. Who knows? Which one? He doesn't even know. He doesn't even know. And then Haskell 420. Shoutouts. to nerds engaged for gifting multiple channel subs.
Starting point is 01:17:38 He's been getting, he gave out a lot of channel subs here. So that was very, very, very nice. And, and support for Derek, from Derek Johnson. Mike, I went on the studio tour at Universal. I was disappointed in the 3D stuff. No more practical King Kong and no, oh, really, no more practical Kong at all? Where have you been, Harloff? I didn't know there's no practical.
Starting point is 01:18:00 And you didn't, I knew that there was, I know, I've seen the Kong. I thought there was a practical one also. made me. I was wrong. And no Jaws. There's no Jaws anymore? Well, that's, I think they're redoing it. Okay. From what I understand, I was asking some people that had taken the tour and they said, because I always say like, hey, when you're going into Jaws, text me, that way I'll know to be out at the motel for you. And everyone's like, hey, we're bypassing Jaws. So I think, I just think it's going under, they're redoing it. Okay. But it's, it'll be there. Anthony. That's a staple. They ain't get rid of that.
Starting point is 01:18:27 Anthony Chisman, now a member. Without the Arrowverse, we wouldn't be where we are now with superhero TV. Probably true. Yeah, but on the other hand, where are we with superhero TV now? There isn't really anything like Marvel. I don't, I think, I think without Netflix, you're not where you are without TV. Yeah. Netflix really did. That is something.
Starting point is 01:18:53 That Netflix stuff was special. That 2015 to 19 or whatever. That what they tried and what they, the characters they picked, that was something special. And I do kind of feel that those people got screwed around by the movies because at the time, then the movies were hitting end game level. And it was just kind of throwing it to the side. Yeah. Okay, here's a good thing, Harlow. If you talk about the difference with Superman and B and CW, I feel that that to me is the same way with like a Netflix daredevil versus an agents of shield on ABC.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Sure. Like I never got an agents of shield because it was just network television that you could see the studio telling it's got to do this, it's got to do this, it's got to do this, it's got to. They have six acts and the commercial breaks and it just, then you look at Daredevil and you're like, this is cinema. 100%. Derek Johnson, Superman Lois actually feels like a show on Hulu. They spend that budget wisely and not a single wasted penny. I was just going to say,
Starting point is 01:19:51 the Superman Lois feels like if they did Superman on Netflix. All right, I'm going to have to check it out. That's what it feels. All right, that's a, that you sold me. You sold me. Yeah. Mike Joyce, I love Darkfeet, highlighting some of the things from the new members here.
Starting point is 01:20:03 The Joker 2 made only 525K at the box office yesterday, and a third of Terror Fire 3 on the same day. I know that's nuts. That's nuts. Haskell, I agree with Mike's list. Jenny Smith is last. Jenny Smith? Not sure. Akron, is there a better actress who's having a better year than Isabella Marcette?
Starting point is 01:20:23 I mean, Alien Romulus, Superman, the last of us. Yeah, she's having a good year for sure. I like her. Yeah, G. from space. I'm looking forward to seeing Joker 2 one day. to see what everyone's talking about. I'll see it when it comes to digital. Go for it.
Starting point is 01:20:39 Yeah. And then, yeah, the nerds engage has been just handed out tons of, we have a lot of members now. Christmas is coming early, I guess, huh? That's true. Carla, Giselle, Muscarra. I stopped watching after Terminator Salvation. No thank you.
Starting point is 01:20:53 Genesis feels like a film fan. Fedi Alvarez for Terminator reboot. Please, J.G. from space. I actually like salvation, mostly just because it took place in the future. Could have been a lot better. Yeah. oh i couldn't disagree more anthony shishman
Starting point is 01:21:08 a 24 terminator would be boring anthony shiseman is a he's a he's i love him but he's also that's i'm saying i think a blumhouse terminator would be but anthony chiseman is is notoriously likes to be a contrarian with me because he likes to push my buttons to see if he can get me i like this guy yeah uh but it's not gonna work today buddy so nerds engage thank you the james one
Starting point is 01:21:27 the rachel zegler effect for sure um and then yeah roxy's the one who needs a new computer totally totally true love that show cancel way too soon and then Jim one Wicked has avoided any heat from YouTube channels so far like Star Wars and MCU this stunt will put the movie in the targets of the trolls 100% you're so it's a great point because I don't think those groups that do those you know five-hour videos they're gonna go after that's not in their no it will be it will be now but now yeah well actress goes after fans for fans watch but you be and but here's the here's the problem here's the problem this time they're not going to be wrong I mean how how they know how they how they
Starting point is 01:22:08 tend to do it and how they go after me say this because they cry wolf every single time it below there's no but like acolyte you know whether we love that or hated that one part where they're sitting there and they look over the shit weas and they're like oh are they he they with us and in the writing was so on the head and you're just like eye roll and you're like oh this is going to feed into that right but this whole with the poster that's going to be a it was it was a movie that was intended for the the theatrics for people who loved the show and you're going after them that's a that's a mistake that is i mean that is if i if i'm if it was it universal if i'm universal what are you doing if one of those people did it
Starting point is 01:22:54 and like this is a better post we have to look at her face yeah right but they were just doing these are people i'll bet if there was a premiere and this guy did this poster would have printed it up and went to the premier and asked her to sign it because he loved it 100% had no it was a gift and had no clue right and had no idea that it would offend her that and she looks at like i'm not taking that completely goofy bad bad move really bad move uh bobo baggins love you guys never missed an episode thank you bobo do you think they'll set up a super girl in superman yes i think she'll yeah 100 percent i think they already said is it millie or mylie alcock millie millie she i bet she shows up she'll show up superman yeah absolutely she's in there
Starting point is 01:23:34 JG from space, you can't deny that the fact that there's a corner of the internet that's just waiting for any excuse to go after an actor of color. I mean, 100%, but the problem is, though, too, like when you when you give them, you know, something that we're all an agreement on that she shouldn't do it. It makes it even worse. Because here's the thing. If she would have attacked those people that were calling, you know, Azure and so-and-so-green, and if the people that wanted to attack that, everyone would look at it's like, shut your mouth. She's 100% right. Right. But this is like, this is bad. This is not the thing, man. This is terrible. This is bad. Derek Johnson, real question. Where are. are these PR firms. I feel like all these actors, sports stars, musicians are just tuning into things easily avoidable, turning into things, avoidable with some competent assistance. Absolutely. And I think that a lot of times, look, Mike, you and I have talked about, I brought this up the other
Starting point is 01:24:18 day. This happened to me in a smaller way with Schmodeown all of the time. Like there was, I tried to say, hey, look, when it comes to when it comes to Schmowdown stuff towards the last couple seasons, please clear with us what you're going to write before you start writing something on Schmoan stuff. You can't control people from what they're going to write in general, but Schmodeown stuff, please clear with us before you're going to do stuff. And we even wanted to start doing like character, you know, Twitter accounts to separate it because people were just, especially during the pandemic and people's minds were all over the place. You just had all that time. And people were just mentally, people were just going and just
Starting point is 01:24:57 anger and all this stuff was happening. And it was. bad i was like and it all blew back on me and like no matter what like if somebody tweeted something i would i'm like i can't do this i just can't i can't do this anymore and it happens all of the time and i can only imagine if you're trying to make like a serious amount of money with your movie and then this happens and continuously happens it's like it's why social media is is just horrible go by sam de heron in dark fate i didn't even realize there was supposed to be arnold killing john at the beginning whatever effect they used went horribly wrong yeah it was it was bad it was He really was bad.
Starting point is 01:25:31 JG from space. The mission movies are the best action franchise right now, in my opinion, hands down. Hands down. Yeah. Anthony Cheesman says, the skyfall is better than all the Mission Impossible movies. See, you agree with them now? I don't.
Starting point is 01:25:44 Yeah, exactly. I think, I'll tell you this, we got a second here. The problem, I love Skyfall, but the problem where it doesn't hold as high for me is because with Casino Real and followed by Quantum, which is supposed to be like back-to-back happening in chronological order. It's all about Bonn just becoming double O. And then in Skyfall, they're saying, hey, you're too old. You need to retire. It was like, and I know Mendez had this story and he needed to tell that, but it just kind of negated everything that happened before. So that's why it doesn't
Starting point is 01:26:14 really sit that high on my ranking. Um, Derek, 100% agree with Mike on bond. Let it breathe a little bit people. Oh, let it let it breathe. Breathe. Let people start asking for it again and then we'll get a wonderful surprise of a new actor. I think so too. I got good news for you, Mike. What's that? So you beat Roxy and you beat Brett. I'm far on my way from Steph.
Starting point is 01:26:39 Well, Steph was last week. Oh, no, she's not. Did I beat him? Right now. You only have, the only one that can beat you right now is Winston tomorrow. By himself? By himself. But you're only three away from joining the 100 Club. You're 97. Oh, come on. You're 97. Maybe. Maybe. I have to take some of the way for myself.
Starting point is 01:26:56 Maybe it's just because Thursdays is a good day for people. Could be. Didn't Steph win last day? It on a Thursday. Yeah, but I mean, look, but getting to the 100 Club ain't easy. GoPy says, wasn't Connery barely 30 in Doctor Now? I don't know. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 01:27:15 But what's the quote? Like I'm not, you said, I guess. He said, wasn't he almost, how old was he when he shot Dr. that? I don't know. Not sure. Haskell said this is the first New York Comic Con that Ellis hasn't been out to in seven years or more.
Starting point is 01:27:27 First time I saw him live was with Schnep and Rocha, who he let do five minutes each. Oh, man. That's, me too. That's awesome. Let's see. So Anthony Mizana says, am I one of the few people that wants to move Comic-Con from San Diego to Vegas,
Starting point is 01:27:42 or do you want to stick with tradition? You know, every year we talk about this. And I think with Vegas, it would be similar to Comic-Con, where the area around it could really be something they could, It's not like New York.
Starting point is 01:27:57 I think it's a little more open, a little bit big, and it's got that party atmosphere, but it's also everything is a party there. So it'd be like, you know, it wouldn't separate it. Like Comic-Con, when it's there, it's the town. I'll tell you where I'd want to go and Carla brings it up. Brazil Comic-Con is getting big, and that's where DC makes good announcements.
Starting point is 01:28:18 They do. I'd love to go. I wanted to go there when I was single. Brazil? Yeah. You can't go there now? No, I can go there. You won't have the same thing.
Starting point is 01:28:25 No. Me neither. Swan King. So I recently revisited Batman versus Superman. And Netflix introduction as Batman was like a horror film and he seems to fit in a fantastical world with a Superman. Maybe there is a way that Robert Pattinson's Batman could work in the DCU. No. I'm not sure.
Starting point is 01:28:43 Are you caught up on Penguin, dude? I am not caught up yet. No, I'm going to watch. Boflcona. Like I said, I can fix her. I mean, you can fix her. You love her, right? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:28:55 true and this this this latest episode she's got like her hair done and this yellow dress it's like holy christ yeah um Derek johnson are people still excited for craven and venom three i'm excited for craven yeah me too i'm like venom three i didn't see venom two i ain't seeing this one yeah but craven aaron taylor johnson i just i like he's he's a very physical actor to me like he's always brings it like so that i'm excited for i really am Um, let's see. We have this next one here. This is Patty Boy, thoughts on deep dish pizza. No.
Starting point is 01:29:34 I, I don't know where, you know where I liked it? Where? Um, when we went to Chicago and we went to when we, it was, were you there? I wasn't. I wanted to go to Chicago. That's you didn't perform in that one. Um, for Star Wars celebration that year, we went and I think Frank Janish took us to a place. It was one with PJ and Frank and it's a really good deep dish place.
Starting point is 01:29:54 i don't with me with pizza i don't like chunks of tomato i like sauce but i don't like chunks of tomato so yeah can't do it yeah i get it um let's see anthony merzano what are my thoughts on your last two comments i don't know what they were i can't highlight i'm gonna highlight select you guys are firing in i can't highlight every membership thing right now because everybody is uh come on yes you can come on it's impossible it's too many um do it come on maybe that's because of nerds engage you gave everybody a membership which is absolutely wonderful. Jim one. Mike, favorite Bond movie. Mine is probably for your eyes only.
Starting point is 01:30:28 That's a very good one. Living Daylights. Followed by For Your Eyes Only, very close second. Okay. Bobo, coming back in. There's a great story with Green Lantern where After Parallax takes him over and he destroys Coast City and his girlfriend, Carol, he's so overcome with grief, he recreates her
Starting point is 01:30:47 and the city with his ring and doesn't realize it's not real. You remember that one? I think it's called, I think it's Emerald Dawn. I think that's the storyline. Yeah, Hal went through some shit, man. He wants to do some good. So if they're kind of taking a lot of inspiration with him, Gunn, that's it.
Starting point is 01:31:01 They take, he takes so much inspiration from the comics. So I think, especially that he's an older Hal, I think they're really going to lean into that kind of thing, which would be great. Okay. My super nerdius is going to come out here. The original Red Lion pilot is older than the rest of the team before he took over the Black Lion.
Starting point is 01:31:18 Okay. All right. I think that's, yeah. And then Bobo. such a good story i hope that they do it Derek throwing some more support and Ed says oh and the lioness season two trailer is awesome what's that? Yeah lioness
Starting point is 01:31:33 that's the show man what is that Taylor Sheridan oh is it good dude first season was awesome and second season airs I think the 27th of October yeah great show great show Mike Joyce first half of season one agents of shill was awful and then it took off all right sure enough
Starting point is 01:31:49 yeah but if you get you got you you know that's back in the day when they did 22 episodes and you're saying it hooked you in 30. I mean, most shows take a couple of years to get going and I know the people that were invested loved it. Yeah. But I just couldn't get in.
Starting point is 01:32:03 Bobo Baggins has became a new member. Thank you, Bobo. And then Nerds Engage says, could we maybe do a next to the channel member question if it's a question versus just chatting and like. Yeah, well, that was just for today that I'm doing this. We'll find a way to do it where members now, we're going to have them submit questions and be able to highlight them.
Starting point is 01:32:21 Today was a special thing because you had gave so many people things. So it was highlighting as many new members as we can. Bam 86. Hot take. Daredevil is a great series, but we never got to see acrobatic daredevil, and that's always been a huge piece of that character. So they're probably going to...
Starting point is 01:32:38 You're not wrong. They're probably wind up doing that, right? I just think with the way that Netflix was going. That's why when he showed up in Sheehawk, it was really cool. It stayed true to the character, but he started doing some flipping and stuff. Sun Tzu. how's that crazy macuga doing you all used to have me rolling on collider missed a roundtable talk
Starting point is 01:32:56 harlough you're still holding it down respect thanks man uh yeah macugas uh he's uh he's doing okay i mean his brother just passed away he's been talking about that um he and i did yeah passed away about a month two months ago so uh he and yeah he and i got and asked me to do a stream with him when you talked about some stuff and and um you know he's he's he was very close he was very close with ben Ben was a very good person and Josh is not, you know, he's trying to, you know, he's doing as best as he can. But he actually made it very clear to me. He wants to come on and, and I think once I get, I have, you know, I got Matthew
Starting point is 01:33:31 Lillard on next week and then I'll probably have, I'm going to see if Josh can come on and talk. Those guys are Ellis, Napsock, Riley, and then McCoug, back in the early days when I, when you first brought me on, yeah, to Schmo down and whatnot early on. Those guys welcome me so with open arms. They were such good guys. And it helped create a friendship that we have to this day, you know, those guys. But yeah, they're real good guys. Derek says the Netflix Terminator was really good.
Starting point is 01:34:01 I didn't have a chance to see it. Oh, the animated one. Yeah, her was the anime. I heard it was excellent. I heard it was really good. I didn't, I haven't seen it yet, but I heard good things. I just checked that out. Scott Cross.
Starting point is 01:34:10 Thoughts on an American as 007. Scott Eastwood? I don't think Eastwood's got the chop. No, I'll tell you this guy. So here we, here we go. Because I say it, you know, these go hand in hand. I don't like when people that aren't American
Starting point is 01:34:25 play American superheroes. Like that's our character. Those are our history. Those are our- And like Henry Cavill. Again, I think they're great in the roles. I think Christian Bale's a great Batman. But I want an American because with James Bond,
Starting point is 01:34:39 he needs to be played by a Brit. That is their hero. That is their icon. If they said, Mike, we want you to be James Bond. I'm not going to say no. I was going to say. I'm not going to say. But I'm also going to address the elephant in the room and go, hey, guys. I'm not British. I wouldn't even accept this, but it's Bond.
Starting point is 01:34:56 And you would just do the whole thing as Michael Kane anyway. Of course. Let me hear a little. I'll hear Michael Kane and James Bond. Michael, Michael, Michael Kate through a James Bond because, well, they want me to do it. Because he talks very, very slowly. And I wouldn't be able to do the film at the time that they need to be. Be a five-hour film.
Starting point is 01:35:15 say, Mr. Bois-Bloffield, do you expect me to talk? And he'd say, Mr. Bond, I'd expect you to die. But then I'd want to keep talking to him because I wouldn't want to die. That's right. It's a good move. Thank you, Mr. King. Matt Sinister McAll put the shit rat from Akelyte and Terror Fyrefour. Yeah, please.
Starting point is 01:35:32 I'm going to get his head chopped off. Kill him. Kill that fucking thing. Stupid thing. I hate that stupid thing. I hate that stupid little rat. Okay, let's see. Derek Johnson, throwing in some more support there as we're getting closer to
Starting point is 01:35:45 to the end here, Mike. Did I hit the 100? You did. You did? You did? I think that's even higher than what Steph got last week. So it's not the all time. The all time record is Roka. I think Roka had like 131. So that's not going to happen to. Yeah, not today. But still, the badass times. Longtime listeners since Shmows, no days. Thanks, man. Mike, I love the Jack Carr hat. Huge fan. There we go. Good man. Huge fan of Chris Pratt in the terminal. Terminal list. Excuse me.
Starting point is 01:36:14 Termulist, yeah, Jack Carr, that's the character, James Reese. You guys ready for season two and the spinoff? I mean, I didn't watch it. It's about a hundred percent. I'm ready for it. Yeah. Yeah, Dark Wolf is this is the- Is that what it is?
Starting point is 01:36:24 Ben Edwards, I think, with the Taylor Kitch character. But I got one thing I want, and I know if you watch, you're talking about this. The show was so dark, lighting-wise. Like, even the scenes during the day looked like it was through a filter. I don't know what they were doing. They need to cut that shit out. I'm sure. Have you ever interviewed Taylor,
Starting point is 01:36:44 Kitch? No. That'd be a good interview for you. Yeah. No, I haven't. Get him. Yeah, no, I haven't. He looks like he'd be a great interview. Roger Paulson. I've really been enjoying
Starting point is 01:36:54 the live shows. I hope it goes well for you. It has been going well. So I think it was a good, it was a good decision in general to do because we get to you know, cover the stories for the first hour. And then we get to talk to you guys and learned a lot of people and really gotten to learn you guys more than everything else to like, like Derek,
Starting point is 01:37:09 someone we obviously know very well now. Mike came into the game limping, but we pulled out the game winner for him today. Well, he won the, he won the game today, but he hasn't won, he hasn't won the whole week yet. He still got Winston, Winston is no slouch. Winston, Winston can definitely do it. Go pie. I was thinking Craig started as just becoming Bond and then was a return to the original. And Dr. No, they start by taking his Beretta 25 and now he's got a zero, zero. I don't know. You know, this is your language. Not mine. Yeah, they get, well, they take his gun. He had a
Starting point is 01:37:40 barretta and they gave him the Walter PPP. Yeah. But, yeah. Okay. El Baba Yaga, what are the chances we ever get a darkest night? Is that a Batman thing? Darkest night. I think that's, is that the Batman becoming lantern storyline? I don't know. I think it's what it is. Okay. It's in else worlds where Batman gets the lantern ring. Okay. Um, but okay. With gun in charge, I really think these kind of, like, people are talking like, will we ever see like an X-Men, um, Justice League or Avengers, Justice League crossover.
