Starting point is 00:01:42 Today's Wednesday, and it is Sith Council. And I got at least one of my peeps back with me, Darth Sabraa is back. Where's Mike? What's going on with Mike? Where is he? Well, he was feeling under the weather, and he's been working. So he says he's going to be back next week. I don't believe him, but we'll see.
Starting point is 00:01:59 We'll see if he is. But apparently he might be coming back. Thank you to Jamie Costa for being here. last week, but Steph is back, and we got a lot to talk about, man. D23 is right around the corner. There's some stuff that I think is going to happen. There's some stuff I think Steph thinks it's going to happen. There's some more kind of rumors that I'm hearing that I wanted to tell Steph about,
Starting point is 00:02:18 because I'm even more excited. It kind of runs into a lot of the guesses of what we were assuming. Bad Batch. They pushed it. Supposed to come out September 28th. Ain't happening anymore. Claudia Gray is talking about a sequel to Lost Stars. Nighttoe Republics, which is video games,
Starting point is 00:02:35 video game companies, rather, and a couple other things. We're taking a lot of questions from you guys today. Now, if you didn't already know, look at us. Look at the Big Thing Clips channel we got going on. So the movie trivia Shmodown is not happening anymore. October 1st will be the spectacular that we shot, and it was really great.
Starting point is 00:02:56 It's a great show. I can't wait for everybody to see it. That show will air on the Shmodown Archives, YouTube channel. You can find a link in the description or you can just Google it and you'll find it. But that's where a lot of the other things, we have some matches that are going to air there. We're going to re-air season one through nine on that channel. So if you want, if you're looking for Shmodan, you can do that. But this is the channel now and it is the big thing clips channel. And you'll get clips from big things, Sith, capes and cows, you get all of it. And it's,
Starting point is 00:03:25 it's something I've been wanting to do for a long time. And it'll bring in some new people. And if you don't have the opportunity to watch the full show. You can always watch clipouts. So there's that. Now, the other thing is the big thing on Apple Podcasts. If you are not listening to this show on audio, please do so. It helps tremendously. Our numbers have been going up on audio. And I think that's because more people are realizing that's a way to help the show. As I mentioned in my video, I'm going on my own on September 1st. I'm no longer going to be with Skybine Entertainment. I'm so happy and grateful for them over the last couple of years when I'm going on my own. It's like I think I was on my own for like two months when I left Collider and then I joined with a position over at Skybound.
Starting point is 00:04:05 So I'm going out of my own. And one of the ways to help, if you want to help, is to subscribe. It doesn't cost you anything. Just subscribe and download episodes. You can also do it on Spotify. Just follow it. So that being said, we got a lot to talk about today. I got Steph Sabraa.
Starting point is 00:04:18 It is the show. Let's do the show. Come on, it's Sith Council. Let's do it. Welcome back. The Sith Council's show. I did not lie. She's here, but I did not fix her camera.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Damn it. You really remind me in my root office. I don't know, Carl, but beef sounds right. Steph Subrasia. What's up, Steph? How you doing? My music's so loud in my ears. I feel like I'm at the club. How's this? Is that better?
Starting point is 00:05:00 Way better. Thanks. I'm good. I missed you. Same here. You know what's funny is I was going to ask you this. I don't ever give you crap about like being in late 20s, early 30s, whatever year, I'm not going to ask you. And going out and having fun and drinking.
Starting point is 00:05:18 I've never done that, right? Never. I shouldn't because my friend sent me this the other day and I said, okay, I can never give Roxy or stuff any issues about having a bender because where is it? We're having fun when we were locked into our homes for two years. No, no. This is, that might, that might, that's, who knows, that's, who knows, that's, that's, that's clearly at like night and for some reason I'm wearing sun glass.
Starting point is 00:05:44 So like look look at that. You can just tell that sneaky little smile you have on. Who knows what happened? What happened? Who knows what happened? But I look like that's that's just like, you know, I don't even know. I can't tell you if I was over in that pitch. I'm going to, I'm going to tell you that I was.
Starting point is 00:06:00 I feel like. Probably not, right? That and also this is a very much. I just got late. Well, it's an interesting, it was an interesting time. Oh, what a time. What a time. What a time.
Starting point is 00:06:15 But anyway, like I said, my friend sent that to me. I was like, wow. I clearly don't remember that picture. But anyway, so it's good to have you back. And we got things to talk about, obviously. We're going to have the questions. There were some really good questions. So I'd like to get them today because I can't always get to them because there's so many great ones.
Starting point is 00:06:33 And if you want to know how to submit questions, either I usually post the poll on YouTube in the community section. And then I delete them after after I gather a bunch of them. And then I also put it on my personal Facebook, on my personal, the fan page on Facebook. So you can follow me over there if you want to submit some questions. So the first thing, let's see,
Starting point is 00:06:55 let's get away from, let's get away from me. Oh my gosh. Yeah, unbelievable. So good. And let's start with the bad badge because I want to get, I want to get into this because you and I are not like the biggest bad
Starting point is 00:07:07 batch fans, but we're still, okay, let's watch it. Let's see what happens. Yeah. The great Miguel Fernandez, friend of the show, writes this article. Now, it says the Bad Batch season two no longer releasing on September 28. Disney has released a list with all the content arriving on Disney Plus in September,
Starting point is 00:07:26 including four episodes of Andor. Missing, however, is the upcoming season two of the Bad Batch, which the streamer accidentally revealed earlier this summer would start airing September 28th. Neither Disney nor Lucasfilm ever announced this date on social media or through a press release. just showed you what a good reporter Miguel is to make sure like, no one ever said that. They never officially said it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:49 There's no cause for panic, however, as Disney Plus probably wants more space between Andor and the Bad Bad Batch. That's exactly right. After they delayed the former a week's, excuse me, a few weeks, it will have three episode premiere on September 21st. Release dates sometime in October or November is highly likely. And depending on how many episodes season two has, it could nicely bridge the gap between Andor and the.
Starting point is 00:08:11 mandolorean. I don't even know why I have to do this show. Miguel just said everything that I possibly would have said just now about all of this, which returns with its third season in February 23rd. A trailer for the new adventures of Hunter, Echo, Recker, Omega, and the rest of the gang debuted at Star Wars Celebration in late May, though no
Starting point is 00:08:27 specific launch date was given. All right, so let's start let's start with the trailer, because I didn't, I wasn't there for a celebration on Sunday. Well, I was there, but I left, I didn't go to the panel. You went.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Yeah. And you saw and you came out and you said it was great. You said the trailer was awesome. I know. I'm trying to pull up my notes from it because it's been a little bit now. But I remember like the crowd went wild. Yeah. It was really cool.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Like it definitely like took off right where we left off. Yep. And it's still dealing with leaving. What's the sneaky guy? Oh, shoot. The shooter. Yeah. It's like Richard Dreyfus and what's, oh, shoot.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I can't remember. Yeah, I don't know. You're all yelling at me. Yeah, sorry, guys. It's an early morning for us. But, yeah, it looked really good. And it was cool to see that many people. There are people who are bad batch stands.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Oh, of course. Yeah, people love it. We like it a lot. And it was cool to see how many people loved it and how crazy they went for it. I feel like the visuals got even better. Like, I love what they're doing with the animation style that they're using. But the story looked like it was still sticking to that. on the run adventure of the week thing which is not my favorite but who knows but that's what that's
Starting point is 00:09:47 but as you said that's what people who love this show like like so this isn't necessary like i said if they would have said that was a one and done i would be like cool enjoyed it for what it was uh wasn't super excited about it but that's why i don't ever like to get into these silly arguments of people when they look if you want solo two to happen that's awesome What, who am I to tell you that you shouldn't want it, right? I don't want it. I don't want anything to do with that. I'd like to see him pop up in, like, Crimson Dawn,
Starting point is 00:10:16 but it doesn't mean that it should negate your love for it. And the same goes for a bad batch, right? If people want to see another bad batch season, it seems like it's pretty popular, but it's not the point of this is that I think Miguel is 100% right. And I think that that's, it makes sense that they're looking at it and like, okay, Andor was supposed to come out at the end of August
Starting point is 00:10:37 or whenever it was supposed to get at the end of August, but we didn't want to step on Sheehulk's toes. So, and now if you look at it, there's so much great stuff going on with Sheehulk on, like, Thursdays, Game of Thrones on Sundays. I think Lord of the Rings is Friday. I think. I think.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I'm not sure. And then Andor is going to be on Wednesdays, right? So if that's, like, that's all spaced out. That's all spaced out really well. And I think that it makes a ton of sense to say, okay, let's wait. because we had this gap that with no Star Wars content, and Marvel doesn't have another thing for, I guess, Secret Wars or whatever it is until February. Let's put it out after Andor's over.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Put Bad Batch on then, and it'll take you through Christmas or right around that. I think it's a very smart move, and I think it is the necessary move. Why do you want Andor to stomp on Bad Batch? That's silly. Yeah, I agree completely. I feel like we saw that with Obi-1 and Miss Marvel. Yeah. Even those were two separate properties, it still was weird.
Starting point is 00:11:37 But even worse if it was the same problem. Yeah, it wouldn't make any sense and it wouldn't give it time to breathe. Right. And I'm curious though if there's story points that, no, they're on two different timelines, right? I think Bad Bad Bad batch is after. Bad batch is after. It's after Revenge of the Sith. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:54 And it's right afterwards. So it's way, way, way, way before Andor. So. But there's more questions that are coming from the, from the audience about a lot of different and or stuff and other things about who's going to show up and things of that nature. So we'll save it. Oh, the one thing I'm just. just reviewing my notes. I know we got to see that Palpatine is going to be in it, which is cool.
Starting point is 00:12:15 So, like, there's good things that are happening different from the first season. There's, like, a Wookie Jedi that we got to see in it. So that's dope. Yeah, I think there's going to be some fun stuff. And, like, I didn't, it wasn't one of those shows that I, that I said, oh, it was a good show. It just was, it just didn't, I never. The first episode, we were like, yo, this is sick. Yeah, because they also, they, you and I, you and I.
Starting point is 00:12:38 are the force stands as you say. We are. Mike doesn't want a lightsaber in Star Wars. But like in Andor I don't think it should be anywhere near. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've talked about that. Totally. But when they did put that, and it would make sense that it would, that you'd have some kind of Jedi because there's a or especially no you know that they're on the run from like, Obi-Wi-Wan, you know, that they would appear in this at some point or another in the way that they did it. And there were a few episodes that were great in bad batch. great. The Cadbane stuff. We'll Caddbane come back now that we know that he survived. And obviously he's going to show up. And we know in Book of Boba Fett that he shows up and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:13:17 So all right. That's Bad Batch. That's what we got there. Before we move on to the next, little to all the questions, let's get to some more stories here. All right, let's go to Knight's Zero Republic. Speaking of which, Steph doesn't like any of us, so she's not playing the game. I'm bringing my switch over next week. I need help. And I'm not too proud. If I wouldn't ask you about it, you wouldn't even mention it. Yes, I would have. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:13:43 I want to play. I want to be a part of the club, man. Fine. Well, this is a club to be part of. And especially now, because by the time this remake gets made, you will have completed this game seven times. Oh, nice. Because there's no chance that they are going to complete this game anywhere before my youngest is in college.
Starting point is 00:14:03 I'm telling you, there's too many ads on Star Wars Newsnet. I love it. But there's too many. They've got to make their money, so I'm going to stop saying, as I'm about to transition into an ad. So I'm not going to, I'm not going to say that out loud again. I just want to shut the stupid thing down. But I hope that gets them some money. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Nightsealer Republic, the remake is confirmed to be shifting studios to Sabre Interactive. Now, there was a disaster of a story a couple weeks ago where they're just like, okay, they don't know what the hell's going on. They fired people. They're like, this is a, no, this, whatever you guys are doing is terrible. Stop this. And good for them for saying that. it's now been confirmed that the remake of Star Wars Knights of the Republic
Starting point is 00:14:41 is in the hands of Sabre Interactive after it faced development issues at Asper Media. So Asper Media was the ones who were kicked to the curb. Now, I don't know any of these companies. I'm not a massive gamer. I mean, Knights of Republic is my favorite game, and I've played it many times over. But I can't tell you, all I remember, I remember BioWare being a part of it. And someone told me, well, the problem with BioWare is that nobody's there. Out of the people who made that game, none of them are there.
Starting point is 00:15:05 So it wouldn't make any sense to put them on there. Last month, it was revealed that Knightsdale Republic, the remake game was being postponed indefinitely after representatives of Sony and Disney determined that the development on the development, determined that the development on the development. It stinks. The video game has been in the pipeline for approximately two years and it was initially expected to be ready as soon as late 2022 or early 2023. Now, 2073. Most recently, official buzz confirmed that a new developer took, over the project, albeit with a confirmation on who this new developer would be. Well, able to confirm that Sabre interactive owned by Asper Media's parent company. All right. Well, I mean, come on.
Starting point is 00:15:47 So they're still doing it. Embracer Group will be one of the ones taking overdevelopment on the ambitious remake of the groundbreaking 2003 RPG from BioWare. Let's see. It now seems as if they thought they did. What else did they did? World War Z and Evil Dead the Game. So it stands to reason that they'd be better equipped to tackle a project as ambitious. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Well. Have you played any of it? of those games? I haven't, but I mean, look, like I said, it's if gamers are saying it makes more sense that these, that these peeps should be making it than the other people because it's more in their, in their alley, and more in their lane, if you will, then so be it. Yeah, I just, my thing with the game is from the stuff that,
Starting point is 00:16:26 maybe it's one of the reasons why they, like, stop doing this, because this is, you're going way outside of what, don't change stuff that was good about it. If it's a remake, make it essentially the same thing. same and open it up to people that haven't played the game before. And like, I don't care if there's a lot of repeating bits. If it's a lot of, look, they're putting Spider-Man No Way Home back in the theater. Yeah. And they're putting new footage in it. I've seen the movie. I'll probably go see it in the theater again, but I'm going because I want to see the couple of new things that
Starting point is 00:16:53 kind of pop up here and there, but it's nice to do it, do it again. Same to be said about watching Knights of Republic in today's graphics and playing in today's graphics and maybe a couple new things that they added. Don't change the story. Don't change the things to that made it work. the characters and the music and changing some other things because you, I don't know, I read something about one of the developers who didn't like originally what the original story was like, you don't get to say that because that worked. So stop that. Yeah, that's weird. Yeah, it's like, well, the way that it was back then and the way it is today with the way society, it's like, stop with society. Society doesn't need to rule everything.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Society. How about, how about you just watching the actual freaking, the game that worked before in the past? It's so loved. It's beloved. It's beloved. Yeah. Make it again, but put it, but the reason it's attractive to me is not because they're going to do all this new story stuff. It's because I get to play it. The graphics are dated, the 2003 one. They're dated. And there's things that you can do with it today that would look phenomenal. And more of the story beats, like when you can actually put more of that cinematic feel to what they do in the console games and everything.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Like that's what's appealing to me. So hopefully that's what they saw and why they're changing it up. Yeah, definitely. I like that. They weren't afraid to make that. decision because it's like when you have that much money and as important as IP as this is it's like even though it probably costs them a little bit they're going to gain more if the game's good and popular again because can you not play the game you can only play the game on certain
Starting point is 00:18:23 things right or is it like available for every year's available in in quite a few places i think i mean definitely i'm pretty sure Xbox definitely Nintendo obviously and i think you can play it online there's it's it's pretty available it's just that it's it it's it's the game's almost 20 years old yeah so yeah which is crazy but when you look at it it's it's it's five from five years ago than they are today 20 years I mean that's tough to get a new audience considering because I still I rank that story in Knights of republic in my favorite star war stories I would put it right after empire like it's it's it's it is yeah it's really sick like I've seen most of the story story and it's just and I remember feeling almost the same way there's a big there's like a twist that happens inside of it and I don't know if you know the twist or not but there's like a big twist don't don't say it obviously but there's a big twist and I remember playing the game going
Starting point is 00:19:23 what like because I told you I took that week off yeah my sick days and I'm just sitting there like basically in that same picture looking like that and I'm looking like I was on a bender playing playing this game, just spending countless amount of hours just staying up. Yeah, exactly. And then what? What?
Starting point is 00:19:41 Yeah. Yeah. And it was almost the same way that I felt like with the Vader reveal with Luke. So I really hope that they get it together with this one. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 00:19:52 Yeah, it's the game that I probably would shut myself off from reality again. You won't be able to find me. And I've played it a million times over and I want to play it again. Christian just looks like castaway, dude. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:05 100%. Tom Hanks just screaming Wilson with my whatever the hell's back there. So the Hans Solo doll. But I, but yeah, the other thing as far, and speaking of that, games also as I transition on to my own, we also have control of the Twitch channel. Oh, sick. So I think some of the things, maybe what we can maybe even do, maybe hold off. And maybe we, maybe we, maybe we play nights of a republic on the Twitch channel. Maybe we can do that.
Starting point is 00:20:31 And then I'll put the new one on there. Brett's going to do some stuff on there. and we're going to take control of that Twitch channel a lot more. Oh, that's sick. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, if you guys want to play with us on Twitch and. Maybe we do that.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Yeah. Yeah. So we'll figure it out. That'd be fine. Yeah, let's see if there's anything else. Then I'd have supervision. Yeah, exactly. 100%.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Let's go. Let's see what else we got here. We're going to talk about John Boyega here or Claudia Gray. You choose. I have to go Boega. Okay. All right, John Boyega. So John Boyega, who is,
Starting point is 00:21:05 is Finn in the new trilogy. Great actor. He's got a new movie coming out. So it's probably where this interview came about. The Woman King? I would assume. No, no, not the Woman King. He is in that, but that's not the movie he's promoting. He's got that. It's like a John Q-type film that he's got coming out. John Boyega has indicated that he currently has no plans to return to the Star Wars
Starting point is 00:21:27 franchise, though he fully expects Finn's stories to be told in other mediums. He took a moment to acknowledge Disney and Lucas's efforts to address online race him a vast improvement in the year since his experience. Since the release of Star Wars to rise of Skywalker in 2019, John Boyega has gone back and forth on the idea of reprising his role-making, excuse me, star-making role as Finn. In May 2020, he expressed a significant amount of enthusiasm for the idea returning if behind-the-scenes talent like Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abin's return, or if his fellow leads Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac returned as Ray and Poe. However, in September of that same year, he said, his frustration and how he felt sidelined in Force
Starting point is 00:22:02 awakens and last Jedi and rises Skywalker a month later. After he spoke with Lucas from about his concerns, he seemed to be open the idea of telling a Disney Plus story and more of the stuff with Colin Travaro. And let's see, they asked him again, I guess when he's talking, breaking is the name of his new movie. At this point, I'm good. I think Finn is a good confirmation point where you can just enjoy him
Starting point is 00:22:23 and other things, the games, the animation, but I feel like the sequel trilogy was good for, did I just, I don't know, that probably just showed up. So, anyway, so, so yeah, so we have now Finn or John Boyega talking about this particular role and whether or not it's going to happen or not. Now, here's my thought on it. I think it's very similar to what we were just talking about. The other day, we were talking about Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac. Oscar Isaac seems a little bit more open now.
Starting point is 00:22:59 They're all going to be more open as it gets farther and farther away. from 2019, right? And there's two things that are definitely going to happen. Now, Oscar Isaac, to me, is working a lot. And they're all working, but he's working a lot. He's got, like, he's got the most clout as far as an actor goes. Totally. And the things that he's in.
Starting point is 00:23:18 So for him, it's, and he had said one point, I can remember which movie it was. It might have been one of the Star Wars movies, but he's like, yeah, that bought my house wherever the hell it was, right? So he's. And he said, I think after either the eighth or, no, after the ninth, he was like, I'll come back. if I need more money.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Right, right. And that's exactly what I'm saying here. It's exactly, and there is no difference with the other cast. Yeah. Now, when you have John Boyega, who, like you just mentioned, the woman king, breaking. And he did all the McQueen, or not all, one of them, the one that won the Golden Globe. But he's doing stuff. Yeah, he's like working.
Starting point is 00:23:54 And he's fantastic. Yeah. And he's a young kid and he can do what he wants to right now. He doesn't need to say, well, I want to go back to Star Wars.
