Spider-Man reaches a billion of fastest than anybody has done it so far. So you just think, hey, it's going to be a sequel. Well, of course, or another sequel, number five. But are they rushing out to do it? Not sure. Possible. Well, not possible.

We had had those discussions, Rox, a couple of little, you kept asking me a while ago, like what I thought it was going to make, and I told you was I think it's going to land in the, um, the, uh, 1.7 range. I think it's going to far surpass that now, obviously. Um, but this movie, it's already going to, it's going to cross. It's a 932 million. I think it already crossed one billion. If you'd taken yesterday's numbers or whatever it might be,

but, um, I don't know. Um, I'm yesterday as talking to Roka, it really depends on week two, that the craziest part is that depending on how week two goes and if it has a just monster week two the three bill I was I was talking about with end game might have been a wrong movie

I might have been off by a movie you and I both thought that that was going to make more money it seems like spidey who knows actually though who knows but what this movie is doing is just extraordinary in the overall box office and the totals. I mean, you're looking at

shit, man. Really, like I said, Roque and I went over it yesterday where there's just not a lot of competition. There's nothing really coming out for a while, you know? Mm-hmm. I think it's amazing that

both Tom Holland and John Berndtall have billion, like two, individually a billion dollars. And Zendaya. And Zendaya. All three. them. All three of them. A billion dollar two times at one time.

With it, yeah, within, like, isn't that incredible? It's crazy. So you look, double feature them. I know. And you have, I mean, it's about, Odyssey's about to hit a billion. Spider-Man, I think people are saying it broke the one day record yesterday. So, um, pretty nuts. And so everyone obviously is concerned that like, because are people been giving spoilers so freely? Has everyone just seen this at this point? So it's okay to just spoil everything. Well, we're going to, We spoiled it. We had a spoiler discussion. Yeah, but that was marked that way.

Correct. So I think that what we're going to do is we have the, when there's part of an article that we're about to read that's going to spoil some of the, the Sadie Sink stuff. So we're going to give people an opportunity that if they don't, if they haven't seen the movie and they don't want to be spoiled that they can jump out so we can talk about this. So I guess Luke, when I, or Peele to whoever, when I bring up the article, just throw up, the spoiler thing so people know. Because, Ross, this movie did so well that obviously everyone now is saying, well, when

is the fifth one going to happen? When's the fifth one? Because it's going to be one of the biggest movie of the year, one of the biggest movies of the year, one of the biggest movies for- Isn't that even in of itself kind of a spoiler? But, uh, Sadie St. Role? No, the, when's the fifth one going to happen?

Well, I mean, kind of. I do. Remember last week when I told you that I have a friend who went into this and was like, who's going to die? Yes. Right, because the white dress situation. It's like even,

I would even be bummed if I hadn't seen this movie to know for fact that they're already talking about a fifth one. Yeah, but I mean, the way Marvel works with people coming back and new characters taking up mantles and you know, it's like, and it's, they're never really,

in the same way that like, you know, the last Daniel Craig James Bond, movie you know they're making another blonde movie maybe now i am but they're making another bond movie never seen the bond movie oh i forgot about that right sorry um so either way um we're gonna read this article now okay so by the way so real quick we're actually just gave me the update right now spider man is a 1.052 billion it's so crazy crossed over yesterday i'm saying when i get close i'm clear and then i get blurry and then it's my light but i turn it down i'm

I can't even want to say, yeah, we'll wait until we debut it but we but we came up with it and like it is martini actually helped um with the the kind of inception of the idea and sent over some things and then luke and uh and craig have just been craig's really been on it he has the he's like a full idea how this whole thing breaks down and i think that i really think that it's going to be something that's beneficial i think it's one of

these things that even if you necessarily didn't want to you know i don't know about this project i don't learn more about it but this is just just something inside of this year like i don't care about the project i don't want to do this um so i think that that was pretty interesting that again martini came up with it but end of the the show i'll open it up people can ask some questions but um we're getting excited you're doing that for 60 days i'm going to be doing this part part of it you know leading up to where i just keep talking to the audience and let them ask everything they want as we build up closer as we start introducing more people you start talking more soon we can reveal more information and then obviously the 30 days of the

actual Kickstarter itself. I think what I'm going to do, there's going to be quite a few days. I'm going to record a few things, whether it's with people, interviews with people, like in our space and conversations. What I'm going to do is do like really long day streams and just start when I can and when I can. But if I need like little breaks, run like maybe interviews or conversations with people, come back.

And I'm just going to be here talking about this project. within within the month of September when we started launching it. Oh, wow. But, you know, and I'll have all you guys on during that time and maybe some extra shows for you guys as well, too, to come in and be part of it and help and do all that. So we're, and then I, you're still doing your show, right? On your channel.

The answer is yes, but I have not been. But I absolutely am getting back to it. I told the people in my Discord, You Christian knows I'm I'm battling with quite a bit of depression right now. As an I, you and I are very similar that way. Probably two most similar on this channel about that. Where like when we have an idea, it's like, okay, execute immediately. And you have not been able to do that with this because you have an entire team. And it's not been the right move. But I know you're, you're ready.

Yeah, I'm ready to go. And the thing is because, the audience getting hyped. It's like I want to stay true to my word to make it feel like it's their thing. It's their show. You know, it's like they're making it happen. And so that's kind of why.

You go with that slogan? Yeah, we're going to do the, it's our show. And we're going to come up with a shirt. We're going to come to the tie. Like, all that's in there.

And they've been referring to it that way. So we're excited about it. But that'll be later. Now I want to get into this article. So Luke, if you can bring up the, and here it is. So.

Why is it doing that? Hold on, Sarah Ross. Because the people want the glowing tomato. That's exactly what they want. Yeah. Okay. So, Spider-Man, brand-new day. Kevin Feige talks Spider-Man 5, Sadie-Sing's future as, you know who. You've seen it.

That's the spoiler. All right. Following Spider-Man Brand-New Day's record-breaking opening weekend, Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feigey has opened up on the franchise future. What's next for Sadie Sink, superhero fatigue, and more. Spider-Man Brand-N-D-D-D-Saint. New Day has broken box office records for Sony pictures, but for Marvel Studios, the service as proof there is still plenty of life left in the MCU.

2025 was challenging with Thunderbolts and a Fantastic Four. Captain America, Brave New World, bombed, despite being one of Marvel's most lucrative franchises. The other two did okay at best. Variety caught up with Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, following Brand New Day and the amazing weekend. And the trade started by wondering whether he imagined another. MCU movie reaching and surpassing Avengers end game opening weekend. He said, I didn't. For all the

reasons, I didn't think anyone did because of COVID, because of the beating that Theatral took for so long. But once the bar had been raised, it could be raised again, right? The first movie to ever cross $100 million over opening weekend was Sam Ramey Spider-Man. The first to cross $150 and one weekend was Sam Ramey's Spider-Man 3. The first 200 million was the first Avengers. And then, of course, the first to $300 million was endgame. We did think that things could increase, but the past, the past five or six years didn't necessarily feel like that was the case. That's a long-winded way of saying I did not expect endgame's record to be beat. But I couldn't be happier that it was this past week of my our 38th MCU movie.

It's a testament to Destin Daniel Cretton, Tom Holland, Amy Pascal, Tom Rothman for letting us do this four times now, working to bring Spitey to the big screen. It's a testament to what Stan Lee and Steve Ditko did all those years ago. People can write about changing case, but as characters that grow and evolve throughout the decades, there are none better than a Marvel character and none better than Peter Parker. When you find an actor like Tom Holland to bring that to life, it's the magic for me. Then he's asked about the superhero fatigue negative and whether our audiences need something new from superhero movies. And Feige then says, looked and sound like nothing that had been in a superhero movie before and it only grows 521.

We're talking about Fantastic Four. Brand new day is very, is very directly a part four. It picks up right after the events of Spidey No Way Home and it tells a story that resonates. It's ultimately about loneliness and the dangers of staying in our apartments by ourselves, looking at our phones. That resonates across the culture's and across the globe right now. Spider-Man 5 seems a given after a brand-new-day success, but Figey wouldn't be drawn on sharing too much about that right now. There are always plans for right now he's going to take a rest after that global tour. He is there going to take a good and restful victory lap, which they much deserve.

And now, Sadie Sinks, Gene Gray also came up. And Feigey was asked why it's so important to keep the character under wraps. It's truly about creating the best possible opening weekend experience for the audience. And her character is one that our fans know has immense significance within the Marvel universe. And she plays a key role in the future of the MCU. People have seen Brand New Day. They know the storyline leads us to more Spider-Man films and the future of the MCU. And it leads into another very well-known Marvel franchise created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Feige, of course, is referring to the X-Men and sink will be front and center in that as Gene. and having a lead who has just started one of the biggest superhero movies ever will certainly help. Yes. As for Spider-Man 5, while it is a little surprising that announcement hasn't been made yet, it's hard to imagine that they're not having early plans when he's coming. Yeah, I mean, listen, let's, I mean, he kind of side-swiped, or went around the sidestep, rather, the superhero fatigue aspect of it, right? Because as he said in his box office thing, the first two movies to break records

a Spider-Man, Ramey Spider-Man. It's a big popular IP. And if Mike was here, he'd be screaming. It's because it's Spider-Man, you can't say that a bit. And he's right. Because this is a, Spider-Man is a, if you do it right, you're going to get people in the theater, especially coming off of, like, as he said, this is the fourth movie in the franchise. They want to see where it goes next.

It's a, you don't have to do a lot of homework if you watch the other movies. You can kind of figure out what's going on. So you can't really say, oh, super- Superhero fatigue is not a thing. It is. And mediocre superhero. I mean, look at Supergirl. Look at these movies that have come out that just, what, what, what, what's that?

Spoilers. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. No spoilers. But he's not wrong for thinking that. It was just a random moment. It was in the middle of it. Superhero fatigue.

Spoiler. But I think that, you know, when it comes to these other movies, there is, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four. They, they were really good, but they didn't, like, make hand over fist. So people have to be interested in it. And as far as the sequel goes, I loved that answer. Don't rush it. Wait. Clearly, if it's 2022 was the last one. And now here we are. Was it 22? Yeah, it was. No Way Home was 22. It was 2021. Right. So five years later. So it was, Homecoming was 2017. No Way Home was 2021.

far from I'm sorry, 2019. So 2017, 2019, 2021, 2021, 2026. Right. So five-year gap didn't hurt last time. Right? So. You're not wrong.

I just don't feel the way you feel. Okay. How so? Anxious person. Right. You just want to see it. I want to see it. I'm there with you.

I'm there with you. Lover of love, shipper of ships. Yeah. Based on no spoilers, but based on what we got here, I'm itching for more. I'm desperate for more. Fans are already starting to ship different ships than I ship, and that's making me ship my pants. I am like, I'm really, really hoping that this is not a five-year gap between this and the next Spider-Man movie. Do I think there is going to be?

Yeah, I do. I actually don't think there'll be a five-year gap, and I'll tell you why. The reason why there was a five-year gap last time is they're figuring out contracts. The MCU didn't really know where it was, what it was doing yet. I think a three, a three-year is probably more. Where are you going to put this? Because here's what we know. Sure.

Doomsday and Secret Wars. So that that lands. So, yeah, so next year is, next year's Secret Wars in 2027. It's definitely not coming before that. No, no, of course. Of course. No. We are hard launching the X-Men.

We are dealing with the Fantastic 4. Yeah, I don't know if we're getting a fantastic. That's a good question. What do we get first? Do we even get a Fantastic 4 sequel? I cannot imagine them scrapping Fantastic 4, Christian. It really depends on how people respond to them in these Avengers movies because they're going to be front and center. You think it's possible?

we are going to scrap this fantastic we're never going to get a fantastic four two i think they're going to try to give it a second shot but if it doesn't do the kind of money that they wanted to there's only so many times you can try to do this before it's just you know i think that they had way higher hopes for what that movie was going to do you could maybe give the second one another shot but it didn't i mean i don't know anything i made i don't even made a profit yeah i mean i don't think that we're necessarily doing thunderbolts too but we this is what we're banking on is the new event The Fantastic Four, the X-Men. Yep.

So. And Ghost Rider. And Ghost Rider. And now we have a new Black Panther. So I don't know. Like, where are we going to put a Spider-Man movie in three? It's definitely possible. They would have to start filming it next year.

Not for 2020-9. Well, I mean, I guess it depends on when in 2020-9. Yeah. You put it towards the end of the year. but if you want to go for summer you could probably still you can still turn around a movie in about three years or two and a half years

right so they would have to start filming it next year yeah I mean next year if they start filming in the summer of next year yeah maybe two year turnaround on it right right and then so yeah so you're probably I think that we are looking at 2030

four years yeah four years I think that's probably and I don't know spoilers for Christians UAP show and channel I don't know that we're here in four years. So like... The aliens are going to guess?

I don't know. It feels like we have come to the crux of an issue that we are not facing it on. And if it's not the aliens, it's certainly the global warming. I mean, I just, and if it's not that, it's definitely... Global warming has already happened in your camera. My camera is global warming. My camera is the cause of global warming. 100%.

Yeah. Yeah, I mean, and if it's not that, it's the wars. And if it's not that, like, I just, I'm not feeling confident about our feet. I, and keep in mind, guys, you're listening to a severely depressed person right now. So I don't want anybody to take this and run with it. This is not the same opinion that you might have in like, no, I don't think that this is my real opinion. But like something being announced for four years from now, not that this was announced, it feels like big news to me. I'm like, how do we get to four years from now?

Yeah, yeah, it depends on if they, if they rush it they could but i mean i look isn't aware of i guess what contractually because he said better questions with tom and zay i even want to do it if they have kids by then if they set up family doesn't matter they have kids they're in they're in they're in a contract so they they didn't they didn't do one of these oh one off they're they're locked in to do more movie i don't know if zendaya is but tom hollins locked in and do more movies i i also am confused by like yeah christian has kids and he's about to make a TV show. Well, TV show for a week is not six months or four months of your life,

but did you watch Anne Hathaway this year? That, well, that's a reason. I think there's a reason why she did what she did, right? She did five movies this year. I think we're not going to see Ann Hathaway for another two or three years. I'm just, no, no, no. I'm telling you. She's, you think that the Dan Tom Holland are going to stop doing movies when, no, because they're having kids? No, I don't. No, I don't. No, I don't think about having money. You can kind of do anything. What you do? I guess, you know, it's funny

because Lucas said that they both have talked about wanting to stop movies after having kids. Okay, here's another thing to realize, though, with that. They're, what, in their early 30s or late 20s, wherever the hell they are? And they, as Roxy mentioned before,

the, they have two hit movies, like massive hit movies, back to back, and they have not stopped doing press for either of them. Right. So all they have right now, is work, work, work, travel, travel, travel, travel, travel, travel, travel, travel,

movie, travel, movie, star, movie star, and they're like, we don't want to do this anymore. And the same way that when a musician, a wrestler, a fighter, anyways, it's like, oh, I don't want to do this anymore. And then they don't do it for a while. They're like, I gotta get back to that. So I don't want, it's the same reason, I never take, even Daniel Day Lewis came back to do so, you know, his son's movie, but he came back. And it's like, I never, when, when an actor, when an athlete has to,

retire because of injury or whatever to you go it's probably it's probably over and sometimes not not even right sometimes not even but when an act when when an actor or director says it depending on unless there's something going on physically you know there's sometimes it just maybe someone unfortunately comes as like Alzheimer's and just can't do it anymore right it's like that happens but when an actor or director who's in good health goes I'm not doing it anymore I'm retired I'm like don't say that. Just take a break. Also, did you, Paul Walter Houser, your buddy, did the interview this week

kind of breaking down, like, how much money he actually makes. And like they, because their lifestyles, I'm not talking about Paul's now, specifically, but actors' lifestyles, they're very expensive to keep up with the homes that they have, the cars that they have, like, at some point, you also run out of money and then if

somebody says, like, I'll give you X amount of money to cameo. Of course, you're going to be like, yeah, it's a It's a job. It's a job. It's a job to do it. And it's, look, and it's funny you say that because even like where people are like, where we're raising for the Kickstarter, right? What we're doing and people, people have actually been pretty, pretty understanding and knowing that what a TV show makes that we're actually going a really lower end of things. But even to show you, I have someone for just for the pre stuff that we're doing. We're doing something for the pre stuff for the Kickstarter, which is photographer, videographer, you know, graphics. Like all this different stuff, make up and into, that alone is going to put me into between, without the Kickstarter even being a thing yet, anywhere between $1,200 to $2,000, right? And that's like, that's just that. That's just that that done those things, that's not even the shoot.

So these little things that tack up. And that's where people go, where did the money go? Casting, craft, travel, like that for my thing, I'm just saying in general, for where this all and and for the same though that actors aren't paying for their own travel for big productions and things like of that nature but they do like you said they have a lifestyle they have other things that you have to try to balance like anything balance your money on make sure that to make it last there was this crazy i'm going to literally pull it up right now because talk about me not being sure that we're going to be here in a few years i think we're going to be here guys uh i it's just hard to

picture the future right now but i saw this book that was like, okay, this is the, this is how much you need to live comfortably, state by state right now, like to just be, to be comfortable as in like, be able to pay your bills. Yeah. And for California right now, your income to live comfortably needs to be $27,000 a year. If you're, if you're single. If you're single. Wow.

To live comfortably. $27,000 a year. Like Massachusetts, $310,000 a year. Like, just because the cost of living is so expensive. Massachusetts is more expensive than California. Austin's most expensive city to live in the, and the third most expensiveity to live in the world. Really?

The actual city itself. Yeah. And then Massachusetts, like a lot of the surrounding areas, because it's like all the greatest, I mean, think about all the, it's Harvard, it's MIT, and all of the schools. Like, that's, it's the most educated state as well. It's just that, like, is truly insane to me.

looking at there's not a place on here that was less than a hundred and seventy thousand dollars a year what was that Utah but and that's just the word um Mississippi that's just the word comfortable like just to like know that you can afford housing you can afford food you could like just that's the comfortable number and so like it's the things that you're talking about too costs of living when they go up, you have to pay people more too, people who are running the things beforehand on your Kickstarter or whatever.

They're going for the right generation. And I mentioned this on yesterday's show because of the way that they set up Sadie Singh. And now she's in quite possibly the biggest superhero movie of all time. So when she is now going to be front and center in the X-Men movies,

after you learn about her in Spider-Man, that is going to help the X-Men movies. And now you've got to cast alongside her with Cyclops, who I think will be the other one. The movie's going to be about Gene Gray and Cyclops, as it should be. That's what it's going to be. And then I think post-credit scene,

maybe Wolverine, leave Wolverine out of the first movie, the amount of. What movie are you talking about? The X-Men movie. Yeah, but you think it's just going to be X-Men one. I think the first one is going to be the X-Men movie. Yeah, the X-Men. That's the formation of them.

You'll probably get... So you're not talking about anything to do with Doomsday or Secret Wars. No, no. Secret Wars, they'll show up. Yeah, we're not going to see the new X-Men in Doomsday. We're going to see the new X-Men in Secret Wars. And then that will then catapult them into the movie itself. None of them.

We'll see them in Secret Wars. I don't think we'll see them in Doomsday, no. None of them. No, I think we're going to see all the movies. the old X-Men in Doomsday. Okay. Yeah. Do you,

So they clearly are like, although Spider-Man didn't really have much of, I mean, it had a little bit of a post-credit scene, but, it would be cool to see. We also obviously got the Samarrow, Are we even casting?

Yeah, right, right. And casting her this early would imply there's a reason for that. But who knows? When you say that they are going with the right age, I'm listening to front of the show, Koi, talk about what it actually means that they are doing a Jean Grey in her late teens, early 20s, and Emma Frost in her 30s. And like what storylines that might actually lead to because clearly that's a big age jump.

And so like thinking that that Emma Frost's character is more of a teacher and they're going to go with a storyline where her students are unalived. And that that younger Jen that they're teaching is the Gene Grage and especially what we just saw on Spider-Man where Gene clearly doesn't have control of her anger. needing to go to Xavier school and all of that stuff. So I think that there's already a lot of great fan theories about what we are about to see. But that all makes me extremely excited. Me too. No, this, see, but I don't think they'll be in either one. That would be a major mistake.

If they don't do that, if they don't put them in Secret Wars, that would be kind of. When you say them, though, like, do you mean all of that? I think he's talking about new X-Men. If you don't put the new X-Men, but do you mean all of the new X-Men? No, I don't think all of them, but you got to, the court, because you've got to, let us know how that X-Men movie is going to relate to Secret Wars. You got to let us know that because the Secret Wars was supposed to be the one that kind of ends all of this multiverse stuff and just stops all of that and just puts us on one particular timeline, right? Well, if they're

going to be part of the timeline, you got to have them involved in it. It would make no sense if you don't put them in a second. That would be pretty stupid if they don't do that. I use some of them, not all of them, but some of them. Because they've already, because they're already involved, It's not like a hard, clear stopping point where then we're introducing afterwards. Yeah. It's already blurred. Yeah. Well, either way, we know that the X-Men are coming.

Steven Spielberg, ready player two. sequel gets first major update in years from writer Zach Penn. So, Roxy, did you like the first one? Yeah. You know, I haven't seen it in a while. Yeah, me neither, but I liked it at the time.

I did too. But it wasn't shared by all that opinion. But let's say, okay. So Stevens Billboard was Ready Player Two screenwriter, Zach Penn provided an update on the sequel. Ready Player 1 was released in theaters.

2018, wow, transporting audiences into dystopian future where the virtual oasis program offered an escape from a bleak real world. The story followed Wade Watts and his friends as a race to claim control of the digital utopia left behind by its late creator James Holiday. Ready Player 1 culminated in Wade sharing ownership of the Oasis with his friends while instituting regular shutdowns to encourage people to reconnect the reality and Ready Player 1's hopeful ending left fans equal for a sequel. speaking exclusively with the direct during the red carpet for Stewart fails to save the universe. Ready Player 1 writer, Zach Penn confirmed that a sequel is still in development saying I'm working on it. I mean, shit. This marks the most significant update on the sequel's development in roughly two years, indicating that Penn who wrote the 2018 original,

yeah, okay, this doesn't really mean much. In the same interview, Penn also addressed the possibility of a free guy sequel and asked about the project's chances after Sean Levy previously noted that any follow-up would need to feel distinct from films like Barbie. Penham admitted he was unsure of its status. He explained that Levy and star Ryan Reynolds felt really good about the movie in Philly. They didn't want to rush a sequel. Okay. So let's just go back to the really clear. Here's why I don't think it really means anything yet too. I don't discredit Zach Penn. I'm sure that he is working on it. But he's not the executive. He's a writer. So it's like

they said, they go, hey, where is this? What's going on? We need you to turn in a draft. I mean, I can't even tell you the amount of times when I was at Silver, like how many times you would talk to people with how many Sergeant Rock drafts that we got and there still haven't made that movie, you know, and how many like altered carbon drafts and all these other things? Like, if they asked the screenwriter that was working on those, hey, what's going on with Sergeant Rock? I'm working on it. That doesn't mean the movie's going to happen. It just means that Jack Penn's working on too. And also like, what's he going to say? No, it's not happening. He's not going to be the one who announces it's not happening.

He could say something along the lines of, you know, there's just, there's just no movement on it right now, but I'm, but my phones, my phone's ready when they're ready for it, but he said, I'm working on it. Okay, okay, you're working on. You got a draft. It doesn't mean that he, and he's a good writer, but it doesn't mean that they're going to look at his scripting of this is it. We're ready to go. Did this movie not do well? I think it did decent from what I remember. I just remember that the audience, like it was mixed. clear one let's say box office mojo it first of Peelty can tell me the budget because oh no the budget was 175

and it made 583 so it made money and were people a fan of the second book the way they were the first book I didn't even know there was a second book until you got it I liked it but I think a lot of people were disappointed in it compared to the first

one that's what I heard okay um all right well I mean listen he's working on it so he also working on dirty dozen black chapter the agronauts yeah so you know well we'll see interesting it doesn't even have an IMDB I'll tell you that if Steven Spielberg was on the red carpet he goes that's what I'm working on next then I go okay that's what he wants to do because Stephen Spielberg if he wants to make it happen. He's going to make it happen. Again, not discredit. I'm not taking away from Zach Penn. I'm just saying that it's his job.

He's working on. Christian hate Zach Penn. I know. I don't even know. Spoilers. Yeah. So I will say that I'm curious to see what Spielberg will be doing next. That's, uh, that's interesting. Roxy wanted to talk about it. So we will talk about it. And I wanted to talk about it.

Dave Batista is negotiating to take over the lead of the God of TV series. There he is. Guardians the Galaxy star Dave Batista is in negotiations to play Kratos in the Amazon

MGM studios and Sony Pictures Television adaptation of the popular PlayStation video game God of War. Tista takes over the lead role in the series for Ryan Hurst who was originally set as Kratos before he tore a bicep while performing a stunt on set in late June for months into the shoot.

Series paused production immediately following the incident remains on hiatus. This recovery time is unclear, but for a serious bicep tear, it's usually four to six months with full strength taking up to a year to reach. After careful consideration, Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM opted to recast the role as a production shooting schedule simply couldn't accommodate a year-long weight, along with the fact the role requires intense physicality. Patista is seen as ideal as his extensive background as a wrestler, allowed him to step into physical demanding roles such as crowd-offs for the limited preparation giving the tight schedule. Added to that, he recently bulked up for the Highlander remake, which just wrapped filming. Prep is expected to begin in mid-August for a mid-October production start in Vancouver, where the show has been based. Both series of the series are being shot back to back.

And both seasons, sorry, both seasons of the series are being shot back to back, and that remains the plan. So for Amazon, this is, again, I think, I like the actor they originally had. I think that this is a happy accident, unfortunately, with an injury that happened for Amazon. I think that when they initially had cast him, and they probably still are very, he'll wind up getting a role, I'm sure, in one of the seasons or anything, too, though I believe they'll probably take care of him. They like working with him. But the reason I also say that they probably, we're going to back him, gets hurt. I think that's fair to say, we can't wait that long to do it. want to go into production on this thing.

Other people could come up with schedules and things too. So we have to recast. But they didn't cast anybody that's similar, or at least talking to, similar to kind of his build and everything too. Batista is dramatically different than his build, right? And more so kind of brings that energy that what people think Kratos was. So this is a major thing for them if they get him. And I also think, and I think that Batista is, you guys can correct me if I'm wrong, but he's not significantly older, but definitely older than the original actor.

So yes, physically, he's done things like this, but he's also getting older. And he said he wanted to stop doing roles like this, but you dump a truck of money in his thing and say, here's a lead in the series with a great role and Ron Moore doing this thing. So he's seven years older than Ryan Hurst is. Okay, isn't too much, but. Okay, let me let's rewind for a second, great. Sure. So you seem to be taking this as they're telling us that he got injured and that is why he's being replaced and they couldn't wait. You think that that is what happened?

Do I think he actually got hurt? You think he got hurt and they are replacing him because they couldn't wait for production timeline? I think that they already were maybe second guessing it and then they used it as, you know, I believe that they can't wait that long. I do believe that because you can't think about all the schedules and everything that you're dealing with that it did the push especially if you're filming two seasons back to back like it it probably was an out for them I'm not sure what happened here um I love Ryan Hurst I'm a big fan of sons of Anarchy and it's been a million other things I'm not a god of war fan um I'm not an anti fan I just I didn't play named. So I only know about Cretus from hearing about him in pop culture and zeitgeist.

But the level that Ryan Hurst is at versus the level that Dave Batista is at is really interesting because Dave Batista is a household name and Ryan Hurst is not. Totally. And so that's an interesting. I don't want to say upgrade because I'm not saying as like a caliber of actor, but that's interesting. I'm really curious about the behind the scenes of this. If there was this injury, that was this bad, if this is a bit of a cover up, if there was something else going on, if they were crunching numbers and they were like, we need a bigger star here.

It's also a kid in the show too, you know, unless they're supposed replacing. Oh, they're replacing the kid too. They've said that they think that that's what they are doing. or that's what that's what speculation is right now. That sucks. Both things sucks. I feel really bad for Ryan Hurst because imagine, first of all, let's say, let's say that this is real and they're telling us 100% the truth. He got injured and they just don't have it in the budget to wait. Let's just say that that's real.

This man trained his ass off for this role, gives everything he has to this role, gets injured playing this role, and gets cut. Right. That sucks. Yeah, it sucks. That sucks. I feel horrible for him. Let's say that that's not what happened. Let's say that maybe there was an injury or maybe. Or it was like Eric Stoltz. It was like an Eric Stolt situation, like Back to the Future where they watch and they said, I don't know. Right. This really got the role. Because we know that they filmed five episodes. So like that's a lot to film with somebody. Wow. And not wait. Yeah, you're not wrong. I'm not saying I don't want to disparage anybody here. because I don't know. I don't have any insider information on this. I used Eric Stoltz.

I used Eric Stoltz again because Eric Stoltz is a good actor, but they looked at, they looked at, and they've shot most of the back to the future. Lisa Kudrow with, Cheers. Oh, wow. Who was she playing in Cheers?

Was Diane? Daphne. No, sorry, not in Cheers in Fraser. Oh, I was going to say. It was like, what? That makes sense. Sorry, sorry. So, yeah, but yeah, yeah, they look at it.

And she says, it's just not working. Yeah. Or not. or it was totally working. Totally. And they got hurt. Yeah. But, you know, here's the thing.

If it's totally, this is where I'm, I'm with you in an interesting point of view, where if it was really working, like really working and you shot five episodes, you could probably wait and just edit those episodes. But it's, then it comes down to the kid. I don't know. I don't know that you're just fully sitting and waiting and twiddling your thumbs. Like when you have an injury, there's ways to show. shoot around injuries. There's ways to get, um, uh, stunt double. There's ways like,

it's not impossible. Right. To think that if this was going gangbusters, that they would have continued to move forward or push the show a little bit. So I just, I am curious what happened here. I, and for them then, then, then them not to go with somebody like him, for them to really pivot and be like, actually we need a name and we want it to be somebody with a completely different build and look and type it makes me wonder what went down i think there's a lot i'm telling i do think you got injured i just think that i think he gave him an out yeah i'm still not sitting here being like there was no injury no i'm with you i think that would probably what could have happened they were watching it for a day where it's five episodes into this and we're going to get hurt

and they go okay look guys here's the thing we can push back we can see we have to do we're going to have to recast this kid, whatever we're going to do. Or we can take the hit here. We can recast this thing. Shoot the five episodes. We've been through the motions of the episode. We know the beats where we can use a lot of the footage that we had that Kratos isn't in. And we can recast it.

Like they did with that, remember when the Kevin Spacey scandal broke and they did that movie with all the money in the world. Yeah, they replaced them with and they did that quick. They did that so fast. And Christopher Plummer was amazing. Yeah. Did he get nominated? But I think that they're replacing the kid.

Yeah. he did get nominated. Right. And also because chemistry is a very real thing, and especially for a television show where it's not just a movie where it's one, like this is something that there will theoretically be many seasons of. Yeah, to be a fly on the wall and this would be very interesting. Yeah.

I also think that Batista is, and everybody thinks this isn't a hot take. He's so good. He is so talented. He is so somebody you want attached to your project. Yeah. So I understand why anybody would want Batista. Perhaps they initially wanted Batista.

And he was going to be out of something. Yeah, maybe, maybe. Well, we'll say, what do you guys think about it? Do you like the fact that he is being recast? Do you like the casting now? Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. Got a lot of questions that are coming in. So I think we'll do this.

We mentioned, I know Roxanne's that she had never seen one before, but it doesn't mean she's not aware of the hype surrounding the role of James Bond. James Bond, they're revealing for the, apparently the reveal is aiming for the year's end. Producer Amy Pascal indicates there's a good bet that the casting and the new bond will be announced before the year is out. That means you should pretty much, that's the difference. With Amy Pascal saying it, that's probably, that's probably going to happen. Pascal, David Heyman took over as producers on the series after MGM studios acquired, creative control of the franchise. Soon after, Deney Villeneuve was set to direct.

And last report, the next round of auditions and screen tests are scheduled to take place this month, speaking with Denline while out promoting Spider-Man brand new day. Pascal says, I would say the end of the year is a good bet. We are being really, really methodical, having worked with Barbara Brockley at the studio. I mean, David, Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow, and it's going to be something really different that is stirring and exciting and different. Jacob, Lurdy, Callum, Turner, and Harris Dickinson were among the names being rumored for the bond role, but for some time now, Dickinson really ruled himself out of the running, while, with Turner seemingly reemerging as the bookie's favorite in recent weeks. There's only, well, let's see, there's only two names on this list that I want to be bond, and I'm actually really one that I hope out of the three of them. But, Roxanne, I know you have no horse in the race, at least right now. I'm really, really hoping that it's Callum Turner. I really hope it is. I'm seeing his movie tonight.

I was supposed to see it last time I missed the screen. I'm, it's interesting. I loved Eternity. I really like him. He's obviously very much in the press these days because of his marriage with Duelipa. And he's just like, Zupes. He's the young, hot star. Is that typically what they do for Bond?

What do you mean? Like a smooth dude? No, like a celebrity. Well, he's not, he's not as big of a celebrity as you think he is, by the way. Really? No, no. For, I mean, for most people. I mean, like pop culture.

celebrity. Yeah, but again, like he's, he's, he's, he's, Jacob Allurety is a bigger star than he is, right? I'm not saying bigger star. I'm saying like, could be, no, but he's an, I mean, look, he's an actor. If he has it, my, my thing is, and you know, because we talked about this, I think Jacob a Lordy is a really great actor. Yeah, he is, both, Calum Turner and Jake Lordy are both amazing. He is a terrible choice for Bond. Terrible. Not based on his acting. Do you think he's really in the running? Yeah, probably, maybe because they want, because they want the next big name or whatever, The guy, and I keep saying this, is like six foot five. A six foot five bond going up against villains that he can just kick away with his foot.

You know, it's like in these fights, these hand-to-hand things, it's going to look so silly. He's going to, I think it's a terrible choice. But I know, I've been wrong many times before. But I just, and I think he's out of the three of those names, like Daniel Craig was not a name anybody really knew unless you were you know in the film business you'd layer cake and these other things that he had done it wasn't a household name um Jacob allorty is the is the most famous name out of those three the other two should have the opportunity to become a household name with the role of bond okay so I believe you we'll see um what yeah no no then it was also because I thought he was

I thought that Jacob Lordy was great as Frankenstein, because Frankenstein is a big, huge monster. You know what I mean? And it's like, worked perfect. Not that he has to do roles that are just super tall things. He's great and dramatic roles and everything, too. I'm curious about because Callum Turner,

because of his career path, what he's done, yeah, and he's done some more movies, but then he did a romance drama and now with this rom-com. Is that a good trajectory? Like, do you think that...

Yeah, Tina, um, but it's just, just only three people. So let's say, question for the pilot. What have you done differently with this pilot compared to grasping and straws? Oh, man, so much. What lessons did you take from grasping and straw? Sorry, that's not a silly question. It's an amazing. First of all, grasping and straws cost at the time in 2007, which at the time for me was a lot, was like 20 grand, which in the grand scheme of things is nothing. It's a blip. And, you know, and so this, and the director we got, God bless him, did a great job, but he was, he was a 23 year old kid at the time. I was, what, 27, 20,

whatever I was, but he was a 22, 23 year old kid who did it. We're going after a really established person this time around. We're trying to really make, we're, we're, This time around we're making it look, A, like it already lives on Netflix or Apple or Amazon or all those other things. We're trying to cast around. We're not just putting people around us that are just, you know, stand-up comedians. Another thing that I was with, it was, this is going to, we're casting. We're going to casting director. We're doing it.

We're doing it that way. We're putting, you know, real money into it to make it look real. And the difference is that the internet, social media, all that. I mean, it wasn't really a thing that was, the internet was a thing, but it wasn't, it wasn't used in the way that it's used now to help. There were audiences and things of, of that nature. There was no schmose. There was none of this stuff. Like, people, I had to just kind of raise this money through connections and other things, too. There was nobody that really, you know, believed in me or knew me the way that you guys do. I also feel like you're not talking about

the script development of this. That's very true. That's, that, well, look, Look, so I wrote that script, grasping in straws. Nothing against that script. No, no, no. And it had a, and had a great. And it could have been developed more. And I was very proud of that script. You know, Ethan Irwin helped me with that script.

And it was very proud of it. And it was a, it was, it was. And it was also, I intended it for like at the time, like TBS was a thing that was starting to take shows at that time. And for some stupid reason, I started to design it into more of a TBS side of things. This is more because of the way that streaming wasn't a thing. Streaming now you can. you can write it as real as possible and you have more to compare it to.

And because I have such an amazing writing partner like Martini, the script has just, the script has been one of the things that has really been nice to hear about. Roxy, you know, had some really kind words about it. Love it. That's why I want to be a part of it so bad because how much I love it.

I know you do. There we go. So Mike, Moodra, what inspired you to write our show? And if it does well, does each season get different. Well, yeah, Roxy, Roxy's one of the few people that I was on the phone with Roxy,

because Roxy called me after, because Roxy gave me some great notes, like really great notes. And we implemented, I think, the majority of them, rocks, right? Yeah, there wasn't anything that you didn't implement. Right, we implemented, like, all of her notes. Because I'm a teary, diehard dance. You're 100%.

And then she called me, and she's like, I want to know where else this show goes. And I sat there on the phone with her, and we talked about my five to six Cs, he's an arc and she's like and so she knew kind of where she knows where the characters going so they do get different their characters evolve these things happen so as far as inspired to write it it was an idea that kept coming back to me and i told you the kind of the evolution of what happened with it where initially came in like 2000 and between 2013 2014 and then it just sat around

and different versions of it and then when i took it to martini and she liked the premise of it and we scrapped it started from scratch and just built off of zoom meetings of the new dynamic We just, and we've always wanted to do stuff. You know what? And I told, I said this on the air rocks, but I don't think you know this. So you remember with grasping of straws, you know, that, what's, what's a freaking? Eliza? Yes, Eliza.

Do you know that it was that role? Eliza is like to standout in that show. She's amazing in that show. She's amazing in that. Great as Marley. That role was written for Martine. What happened? Martini moved to San Francisco.

Oh. And so I had to recast it. wrote it for her. And I had to recast. Yeah, and I had to recast it. Eliza's so good in that. Amazing. Eliza was one of the only people who auditioned for not, not for the role, but for a role. Like I had written the majority of those roles, I had written for people that I was doing stand-up with. And I wrote that role for Martini. She couldn't do it. So I auditioned like, I think it was like 15 different women. And Eliza was just incredible. It was before, you know, Eliza was Eliza. So, um, okay, let's see.
