On today's **Kristian Harloff Show**, we break down the Lanterns debut and what these numbers could mean for the future of **Green Lantern**, HBO, and the larger **DCU**. Plus, **Charles Melton** has landed a major role in the live-action **Naruto** movie, potentially explaining the recent reports surrounding his status with Marvel Studios' **X-Men** reboot. Could this be why Melton may no longer be playing **Beast** in the MCU? **Masters of the Universe** is also finding new life on streaming after reportedly topping the Nielsen charts. Starting point is 00:00:01 Hi, Mark. What's up? What's good, y'all? I'm going to be real with you. I already told the producers when we started this. I am the polar opposite of yesterday. Remember yesterday I came in and it seemed like I was on crack or something? Well, this time, I had to take some Benadryo to go to sleep because of my cat allergy
Starting point is 00:00:21 and I was around a cat. I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck. So it's going to be a really funny show in terms of just comparing and comparing contrast between the amount of energy that I'm bringing to this whole thing. but we're still going to give you a good show because we have a lot to talk about, like lanterns pulling 9.8 million, 9.3, 9.3, 9.000 something. Million viewers for its debut. Pretty damn impressive.
Starting point is 00:00:44 Or the fact that Charles Melton actually apparently turned down Beast because he's looking to be in the Naruto movie. That's pretty crazy. Masters and Universe is killing on streaming. That's pretty nuts. Dave Patisa is officially Kratos. We'll talk about that. And, of course, we have to talk about Avengers Dune's Day.
Starting point is 00:01:01 but in a very unique way this time. I think that we've found a really cool way to dive into Avengers Doomsday, and it kind of brings some character dynamics from the MCU into the real world, almost like a fourth wall break. It's pretty cool. But as I mentioned before, it's not just me.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Today is not just about me. It's about putting together thrusting in the media with the BBC featuring Ebony and Ivory. You know, it's about cooters and cows. if you will. It's about myself and the ever lovely, the ever intelligent, the ever going to make your day a lot better. Ms. Chris Carr is here with me too. So stop wasting my time, Winston. Bring Chris on. I want to see your face. You right. You right. What am I doing here? Oh, yes, Mommy.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Wow. All right, all, all right. Everybody wants to see Mommy right now. That's for show. So let's, let's do it, man. It's go time. Mother in Christian Harlov show, aka Capes and Cows. We end this. Did you shit in there? Realizing that my, the wrong microphone is on, so let me fix. Hopefully that's a little better. Hearing that, it doesn't sound like I'm talking to you from a toilet. So in that case, I could probably do this, too.
Starting point is 00:02:31 I see Luke over there shaking his head. What, you don't like good music? Is that what you're telling me? You don't like good music? Luke? I know Chris likes it. I love it. It's a bop.
Starting point is 00:02:42 You dare right. It's a bop. What's up, girl? How you doing this morning? I'm so good. Our energy is going to be great because we're back to 32 ounces, baby. We're back on the press. I tried to cut it out.
Starting point is 00:02:56 And not anymore because I'm going to go see your play at 8 p.m. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. That's usually my bedtime. Oh, no. Oh, no, I'm so sorry for keeping you awake. I'm going to try to be like a normal adult and not a geriatric. because I'm so excited.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Logan and I haven't gone on a proper, like, date in ages. We usually just, you know, we catch a movie or we go do something really quickly. So we're so excited about this. Dude, I get to be your date night this weekend. Yeah. Yeah. That's so cute. Oh, dude.
Starting point is 00:03:30 And I, man, man, oh, man. Do you know 12th night particularly well? Not particularly well. I am aware of it. Logan's the one with the BFA. I was a communications major. I basically got the macaroni art of college. And so he's incredibly excited.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Okay. I'm very excited about this to hear that. The reason why I say is because then you're probably not super familiar with Mulvolio and his whole like tail. Okay. I haven't read it since college. Okay, fair. Totally fair. I'll let you be surprised then about all of that.
Starting point is 00:04:09 But we got to, we went through my, my costume changes yesterday. and, and holy shit. Like, I, I, you think Mr. Cook is bad, y'all. Who. So they're supposed to be recording it. If so, maybe there'll be a clip out that we can share, but there is, there is definitely, I, I am dressed. I will tell you that much.
Starting point is 00:04:34 I am dressed. That's, that's, that's what I will, we'll leave it at. But, oh, man, oh, man, oh, man. But I'm very excited. It'll be a good time. It's going to be doing the show for the next three days and whatnot. So I will come back and report. I will actually let Chris come back and report.
Starting point is 00:04:51 I'll let Chris come back and report what she thought of the whole thing. But other than that, what's going on this weekend? A lot. I have my boot camp tomorrow. So I do a four-hour intro to VO class, which I still have four participant spots left. Does anybody wants them? And I have unlimited observers if you're a little shy and you want to just watch it. But I also do office hours for my other voiceover group.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Um, I've got, uh, coaching. And then I'm going to go see Spa Weekend with some of my pals. Nice. Pretty pumped about that. Okay. Okay. I'm not familiar with Spa Weekend. It is the, that new movie that's got, um, Leslie Mayan.
Starting point is 00:05:30 It's got Isla Fisher in it, um, or Ila Fisher, however you say her name. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It looks cute. My, my pal Amanda was just like, this feels like a movie. We all should just like, go get some wine and see. I, I love that. Girlie's Day. All about that. Absolutely all about that, man.
Starting point is 00:05:45 So, yeah, no, for me, it's going to be literally just this. Oh, and I might be starting a new writing job soon. That'd be pretty cool. Oh, yeah. Wow. So most of this weekend is get through the show and do my prepping for this potential job and everything. And then, you know, keep on chugging along, man, you know. Heck yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Trying to pay for a motherfucking wedding. So it is what it is. What's your planning coming? So far so good. We go to visit the site in a couple of months because I think I told you that it's out of the country. So yeah, so we're going to visit a couple months. So I actually need to, when we get off the show, I got to look at our plane tickets for that. But I'm pumped, man.
Starting point is 00:06:35 It's also our anniversary on Monday. So we were like, oh, what's our last anniversary? is single people. And it's our first and only anniversary is fiancée. That's really cute. So, you know, we're all lovey-dovey right now and whatnot.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Except I slept on the couch because the one side effect that Benadryl tends to have on me and this might be TMI, but I go full meat. And, yep, exactly. That is exactly, you nailed it PLD. I don't know if that was PLD or if that was Luke,
Starting point is 00:07:04 but that is exactly what Benadryl does to me and why I had to take my ass to the couch. And she's like, you don't have to do it if I said, Nope. I would like to keep some mystery in our relationship. This ain't, this ain't like a ha-ha, the hotbox you. This was, no. And this is how we can tell you're still just engaged. It's more, no, no, no, it's more, like I said, I don't mind.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Part of her to be like, ha-ha, and you'd laugh at it like every dude does. But this is different. This was like, it would have been a symphony the entire night, including just the whole place would have gone up with a match. so not. Listen, man. I sound like I'm calling aid to Gondor, all right? Like, I know.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Holy shit. I've got so many digestive issues. I'm just going to make sure everyone in this chat is not attracted to me in any way, shape, or form. Like. Some portion might actually be more attractive to watch out. All of a sudden, people are going to be like, how do you feel about sitting on a cake? That's late. as mate
Starting point is 00:08:12 not light the beacons get the f out of here Haskell oh sweet Jesus okay all right you're not here to hear us talking about farting maybe you are here to hear Chris talk about farting but not me so we're just going to get it and push it on
Starting point is 00:08:28 you disgust me go on go on oh man I miss Fridays this is this is always so fun man Someone in the chat was like, mission accomplished. Oh, man. Someone's like, so what tier is that on the Kickstarter for the pilot that Chris will sit on a cake for me? For our show.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Exactly. That's bait. It's bait. That is indeed bait. Here we go. Lanterns pulled 9.3 million in his HBO debut, the premiere. of the DC Studio series Lanterns is racked up in 9.3 million views in its first three days of availability across HBO and HBO Max. According to variety, that's the biggest premiere for a DC studio show on HBO Max to date, along with being one of the top five premieres on the platform overall.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Of that, 9.3 million, 6.6 million were in the U.S. To pathetic comparison with other recent HBO series, it Welcome to Dairy landed 5.7 million viewers in his first three days last year. while DC title, the Penguin, took in 5.3 million U.S. viewers in its first four days. The numbers come as Gunn has assured fans on threads that the series will clarify why multiple ring bears are active on Earth. Gunn is currently approaching the three-month mark on the shoot for Man of Tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:09:58 We already know who's in the show. This is just kind of a recap. Remindered everybody, it's an eight-episode season, so there's that. So, Chris, I think that sounds like hits. What do you think? Absolutely it is. Oh, my goodness. We still talk about tooting.
Starting point is 00:10:15 God damn it. I'm going to bring it back. No. Never. No. Yo. Thank you. I love that.
Starting point is 00:10:30 This is getting so many views. It makes me so happy and it's well deserved. You know, this is why whenever people talk about. superhero fatigue, that's BS, it's mediocrity fatigue. Because this so far is a great show. Like, this is a pilot episode is fantastic. You have immediate chemistry between your two leads. You've got some mystery. You've got some intrigue. Those final moments after the time jump, poodle lolly. That's how you get people to keep coming back to a show. And this is another one where even my friends who are outside the comic book bubble went, oh my God, this show's so good. Chris, what do you know about
Starting point is 00:11:03 Green Lantern. And I've gotten to do a, well, let me show you some stuff, buddy. So, like, now hopefully some more people are going to read comics. More people are going to tune into this. And hopefully this means that we're going to have a really great like John Stewart in the cinematic universe as well, which I know, like, you've been looking forward to too.
Starting point is 00:11:24 Because, like, that's, that's the Green Lantern that I've always loved, being a huge Justice League and Justice League Unlimited fan. I just think this show's fantastic. I mean, we're only one episode. I mean, but so far, they delivered on what they promised the, uh, the comps were that this was going to be true detective with space cops. And, and that's essentially what we've gotten so far. And I genuinely appreciate that. And not for Boy, Odyssey. I know you, I know you, I know you about for saying what's up. I'm happy to see. Hopefully you enjoyed the latest episode where,
Starting point is 00:11:55 uh, what did somebody call it said of blurds in the hood? It was a blurt in the clouds. Because Jay was off on another planet. Um, But yeah, no, it was, it was, it really delivered on what it promised it was set out to be so far. And as long as they keep that energy up, I think that it's going to just be just some next level stuff. And, and, and I think the best thing that I enjoyed is the conversation of they, they worked really hard to not just let the ring be your deus ex machina. Like they, you really only get it when, like, you. it in an absolute dire situation where it is versus like, oh, we know whatever, okay, let me use the ring and that just allow me to fully scan. Yep, nope, you're an alien. All right, blah, blah, blah,
Starting point is 00:12:43 like, they literally have to do detective work and the ring is to come in to, you know, stop like an immediate death or something like that. Or, oh, I got to get to Nebraska, fly away, like things like that. So I think that they're doing a good job with it. I also love that you, that you have the scenario of using, we talk. talked about this already a little bit yesterday, but the fact that you are using the ring in more practical kind of ways, that feels like an actual grizzled human is using it and not just like a, I'm a, I'm a giant spaceship with laser beams and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, I, all the zombies on the way out.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Zombies. Why are there? I don't know. My brain is fried. So I just, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I personally am a big fan of what we're seeing so far, but we want to know what you think.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Are you enjoying Lantern so far? Were you a part of the 9.3 million folks that checked it out? Or are you like, nah, I'm a wait. I'll need to do that right now. I have other things to do. Let us know what you think in the comments. I got to ask Luke and
Starting point is 00:13:52 P.L. are we, is it the same sponsors or no sponsors today? It is the same. Same. Okay, bet. Well, then guess what, everybody? I'm going to go and not embarrass myself in front of you the same way that I did with my fiance last night.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Here's a message for my sponsors. God, man, it smells like a high school gym in here. All right. So thank you so much to Cash App. We appreciate you for sponsoring the show. Sorry for the little extra ad lib at the end there. But yeah, I just want to take two seconds to say a couple things. What?
Starting point is 00:14:26 I saw this. Never been so jealous of Grandma. John is fine as hell. Yes, the Aaron Pia. That's Mufasa. He is. He is indeed a very good-looking gentleman. But then somebody came through and was like,
Starting point is 00:14:40 superheroes should not fornicate and teach evil. And I'm like, how you think Damien Wayne got here? Or John Kent? Or any number of, like, Children of superheroes. Yeah. What?
Starting point is 00:14:55 Come on now. That's literally how that works. They are humans. So they don't just save the day. They have lives outside of that. On top of that, nobody said lanterns was a kid show. It's rated TVMA or R, however they do that with television. So not.
Starting point is 00:15:10 People be effing. Yeah. People be effing truly. And not to chip away at your own morality and your own code of ethics. But fornication isn't even. When it's too consenting adults, hey-oh. I had to step in for a second real quick, just to bring it back for a second. The best part about your little advertising break is if you watch it in the background, Winston, all of a sudden goes,
Starting point is 00:15:39 lifting the cheek up, baby, lift the cheek up. A one-cheek's sneak? I literally, he's not wrong. And I was sure. I was like, I should have just left, but I really didn't want to. saw all PLD just because I literally just did this. And then, and it feels he just, oh, good Lord, it's, it is, it has been, it's been a crazy 10 hours.
Starting point is 00:16:10 I will tell you that much. Oh, but baby. All right, Dios, meo. All right, well, we got to talk about the main story here and the reason that we don't currently have a beast, or maybe we do. We got to talk about Narzo has cast Charles Melton in a lead role, which may explain why he dropped out of X-Men, though there is an update that we'll read right now that for what it's worth, Scooper, My Time to Shine a Low is reported that despite landing a lead
Starting point is 00:16:41 role in Naruto, Charles Melton remains and talks to play Beast for Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot. He can do both. Why not both? Why not both? As we first reported on anime mojo.com, I I didn't. I don't work for them. Emmy nominated Beef Star Charles Melton is in Final Talks to Star in Spider-Man Brand New Day director, Destin Daniel Creton's. That is quite a way to say that. Live action, Naruto movie.
Starting point is 00:17:05 The Hollywood reporter broke the news that the actor is set to play. Hatake Kakashi, that's how you properly say. You put the last name first for those that don't speak Japanese. A legendary Shinobi of Konoha. Why would you use it? It's just Konoha. You can say
Starting point is 00:17:21 Konoha Gakure, but sure, the leader of Team 7. I'm not even like coming for the writer of this right now. I'm just like, you're messing with my brain right now. Known as the copy ninja, he possesses the sharding gun, and has mastered countless techniques, a skilled and experienced mentor, Kukashi guides Naruto, Saske and Sakra,
Starting point is 00:17:38 while carrying the weight of his troubled past. The trade is also learned that a search is underway for a young actor to play Naruto, and this news confirms that the Lionsgate movie is next up for Creighton after several years. firmly entrenched in the MCU. The short-term 12 filmmaker directed 2021's
Starting point is 00:17:58 Shang Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings and later helmed episodes of Wonder Man before taking charge of Spider-Man brand-new day, the eighth most successful movie in the history of movies. He had been eyed to helm Avengers the Kang Dynasty, but moved on from that when it evolved into Avengers'
Starting point is 00:18:14 Doomsday. Cameras are expected to roll Naruto in February of 27, so this will be Creighton's next movie. Spider-Man 5 will either have to wait or Marvel Studios and Sony pictures will have to find a new director and tell Peter Parker's story. I know they want to keep just shelling out hell of money or generating hell of money, but if I'm then,
Starting point is 00:18:31 I would wait until Destin is ready to go and let him take that. Usumaki Naruto is the central character of Kishimoto Masashi's beloved Naruto franchise, beginning as a mischievous young ninja determined to earn the respect of his village.
Starting point is 00:18:48 As a Jinjuriki of the nine tales, Naruto grew up, ostracized by many in Konoha, but refuses to let that define him. Through years of training, battles in personal loss, he develops into one of the most, one of the world's most powerful Shinobi. Spoiler alert. His unwavering determination, compassion, and belief in never abandoning his friends, makes him a natural leader.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Narato's journey ultimately sees him achieve his lifelong dreaming of becoming Hokage, while helping usher in a more peaceful air than in the Indian world. Again, spoiler alert, Jesus Christ. Melton's breakout role was in the CW's Riverdale, though he'd later tackle more series fair with May December. Pretty damn good mini-series. Warfare and her private hell. The actor is said to be a frontrunner for the role of Beast for Marvel Studios X-Men, but his role in Naruto could be why he wasn't among the cast members on 23. And again, it sounds like he's still in negotiation for it, but he's just working on some other stuff right now.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Let's see. Schedules can be worked out. My time to shine hello, claims a Melton is still in the mix for Beast, as we mentioned. If he's attempted to juggle Naruto and X-Men, I can explain why he wasn't done in time for the D-23 Casserfield that trade rights to the actor is a longtime fan of anime and manga and is also extremely proficient in martial arts. He's a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and competed in the Junior Olympics held in Soul Cell 3.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Whoa, dope. And Narto's likely to hit theaters, even though it's not a release date yet in 28. A lot of great information there. This is the first time that... Not a spoiler alert. The story is old. I mean, I know.
Starting point is 00:20:19 I get it. I guess it's more from the standpoint of like, yes, the show has been done since I think 2016 and we've been into Borato for a while now. I'm just laughing at the fact that like, as this is coming out, you could, like, as far as plot goes, you could have just said this is the story of Narta Usamaki, you know, the kid that has the,
Starting point is 00:20:37 there's the ginger key of the nine tales and he has a quest to become the strongest ninja in his land. You didn't have to go into, he meets his dreams and ends up doing exactly what he set out to do. Like, we assume so. It's a story and it's a kid's story and it ends happy, but like, you don't have to be like, yeah, he does it. Like, you know, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:57 That's just me. Anyway, not the important part. What do you think about Charles Melton potentially playing Kukashi, Chris? Oh, so this is an anime where I always have to go, oh, I might be losing my anime credit card because it's when I haven't watched really. And so I know. Oh, wait, God damn it. Why don't you have the Mr. Cook thing separated out just as the slap or do you?
Starting point is 00:21:17 You stop it right as he said, You have offended me for the very last time, Mr. Cook. You got to include the slap of that PLD. That's the best part. I'll add it. Anyway. I was a Christian request. Yeah, so this is one I definitely to watch.
Starting point is 00:21:36 However, when I was first jumping on the call, I loved what all three of you were saying, a PLD, Luke and you talking about how what's really a kind of standout here is this shows either this script is incredible or he's really. behind Daniel Dustin Creton as a director or all of the above. And also to now learn, because I had no idea about his martial arts background at all. I know him as, I know Ms. Reggie, May December. He was incredible in that because that's a movie that I'm not a huge fan of,
Starting point is 00:22:05 but his performance in it is what kept me just like absolutely like glued to it of just, okay, he is so like magnetic. He is so interesting in this. It was a mini series, right? Not a movie? Are I thinking of the same? No, it's a movie. I thought May December was like beef.
Starting point is 00:22:23 It was like a limited series. I thought it was a film. It's okay. And it had that insane soundtrack where they do stuff like, wrong with that of hot dogs. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It is a film. It was that it was on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:22:37 I think that's what threw me off. So my brain, I think I processed it as a miniseries, but it was indeed it felt. That's my bad. But anyway, not important. His work in beef season two. I mean, he's really cementing himself. as a really, really strong actor and one to watch.
Starting point is 00:22:51 And while I know this character also has their face hidden for quite a bit of the movie, it does allow him to practically use that fighting experience. Whereas Beast, you know, unless you're getting the opportunity to have kind of a Nick Holt situation, you're in heavy maybe practical prosthesis makeup. More than likely, they're probably going to go CGI,
Starting point is 00:23:12 which bums me out. But, you know, like, as Beast, you're not going to be using a whole bunch of like your martial arts skills. And I feel like this is something where he can really take to it in the same way that Tom Holland gets to a Spider-Man, really showing off his acrobatics and dance background and his ability to like really move. And he'll be able to do a same thing here. So I feel like that probably had some draw here. It makes me excited for him to hopefully be part of everything.
Starting point is 00:23:37 No, I fully agree with that as well. I will be honest. If it wasn't for Destin, I would be. truly terrified because I have yet to see a legitimate, like, solid anime adaptation. I know everybody says that One Piece is goaded as far as doing that and whatnot, but like, whether it be TV shows or movies, I have so much trauma from seeing Death Note be awful, seeing Dragon Ball evolutionary. We don't talk about that.
Starting point is 00:24:15 that will actually upset my stomach. Yeah. It's been really bad. It tends to be very whitewash and it tends to lose the core of what makes this stuff actually go. So I've been nervous, but because Destin has been attached to it, and especially after seeing brand new day, like I already liked what he did with Shang Chi and all that kind of stuff. But seeing what he did with brand new day gives me a lot of faith that he will figure out a way to make him. it happened. What I am curious about more so than who is being cast at the particular moment, I'm more curious about what story they're going to tell. Since it's a movie, are we just
Starting point is 00:24:57 getting through like the Land of the Waves arc? Are they going to try and blow past that? Is that going to be some weird? Which you shouldn't because in my opinion, that is top three arcs in the whole of the Naruto storyline. And it's early. It's essentially, there's essentially like a almost cold open arc of who we meet who Naruto is and meeting his team and their very first mission is one of the first arcs that happens and it's absolutely fantastic
Starting point is 00:25:23 on a fight level on an emotional level all that kind of stuff so I'm curious if they're going to tackle that if that's just going to be a small piece of a bigger thing which I wouldn't want to just jump through that I would like to spend some time there I'm very curious what they're going to ultimately end up doing
Starting point is 00:25:38 but in Destin I trust now DDC has earned my full faith after the last couple of projects he's done. I'm hearing the rumors it might be the tuning exam. That might be where they start. Okay. That's very interesting for them to jump straight to the tuning exam and to skip the land of the way. Wow.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Okay. I mean, I don't, I don't hate that because I would, you would, you could make the argument that the land of the waves arc, even though we really get a lot of, a lot out of that. the story kind of progresses as to where it's going with the tuning exam for those that are familiar with Naruto, they'd probably agree with that too. Like all of the inciting incident kind of stuff really happens there. If it were, if it were an RPG, Chris, Land of the Waves arc, even though it is an important arc and all that kind of stuff, it almost feels like the tutorial mission you do at the beginning of a Final Fantasy or something like that. And then you'd like, oh, the queen is actually being mind control. Oh, it's kind of that with the tuning exam.
Starting point is 00:26:44 You go into the tuning exam now, and now all of a sudden it's like, oh, no, this bad guy is secretly trying to do this, this, this, this, and this. Okay, this is a massive problem. So, you know, I, again, I'm a hold my breath, but I recommend if people are interested in this, I'm actually re-watching Nartu right now.
Starting point is 00:27:03 You should check it out, Chris. It's very long. I'll tell you what filler episodes to skip, but it's, there's a lot of filler you can skip. Jesus Christ. Because there's also like there's Baruto as well now. Yeah, Boruto is the sequel. It's about Naruto's son.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, so yeah. They did better about the, they did better about the filler there, but it's there's still a decent amount of filler in Borato as well. So they, there was a time essentially with Naruto.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Part of the issue was they kind of caught up to the manga way too fast. And so they were like, we're going to give you like 200 plus episodes of fill a in the original series before they went on to the sequel series. Sailor Moon did the exact same thing. That whole like arc with Allen and like the moonlight night and all that stuff, that is all filler because they went, oh, oh, we have no more story. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Everyone has amnesia. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, but see this, whoops, whoops, not that one. Oh, that is funny. Luke and PLD appear above Winston and Chris's head so they look like thought bubbles. That's actually really funny. That, PLD, maybe, maybe if you can, move.
Starting point is 00:28:10 moving like to stand it would be really funny or it kind of looks like on the shows that it'd be that almost like the conscience shows up and just be like, did you know Winston that if you take gas sex
Starting point is 00:28:23 before you go to sleep it might actually help you in the future like you never know. What I was good but this is the other thing I'm worried about. The training exam is a crazy start
Starting point is 00:28:37 because there's a crap ton of characters introduced in that. And that is true. That is the one thing that worries me is you get so inundated with so many different people in the Chuneon exam versus being piecemealed in with the Land of the Waves Ark first and being like, here is Kakashi and here's Sakura and here's Saske and here's Naruto and there's a few other little players. But it's just we're focusing on these four right now. And then once we've established, we like these four. Then we get to the Chenean exam. we're now Naruto Saske and Sakara as young ninja are going up against all these other young ninja to become like active field ninjas, if that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Instead of just being like recently graduated students and being almost like in, think of, do you, you don't watch the rookie, do you? Not really. I've seen some episodes. Okay. But to that point, you kind of understand the premise of like with the rookie or with cops in general that like you are officially. police officer out of the academy, but like you're, you're on probation sort of. You're like a probationary officer and then you burn your stripes. That is what the tuning exam is meant to do, is that as getting, you are rookies, you are under tutelage of other people in learning. You're not allowed to do missions without your boss kind of with you. And then if you become a tuning, that's like becoming a full-fledged like P1, you're now out in the streets on your own, blah, blah,
Starting point is 00:30:03 blah, blah, blah. So that is kind of why it's a little weird to immediately jump to them looking to get promoted and not looking at what they look like as rookies if that makes sense. Okay. Yeah. So anyway, I'm doing more research. I might be wrong. I might be wrong. It might be. I'm doing some. They say they might do the same the other, the other, the wave missions. I hope so. I hope so. I hope so. Yeah. It's not look. It's not a bad thing because again, I trust DDC, but I, but I, it is something that crosses my mind that if they, if they do make that jump forward. But either way, I legitimately could talk about this all day. Uh, Naruto is definitely one of my expertise, expertise, I.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Anyway, it doesn't matter. We're going to go to the next story. Let us know what you're thinking in the comments. And send in those super chats, man. I should have plugged that earlier. We are trying to win this thing. This is the second day. We did pretty good yesterday.
Starting point is 00:30:56 I don't know what the numbers are overall. So let's just pretend like we didn't have a show yesterday. Y'all help us kick some ass today. We would really, really, really appreciate it, man. And that's how you can convince Christian to let Chris and I, this lovely little duo to be together more often is by helping us win a few of these and then all of a sudden I miss you. I miss you, too.
Starting point is 00:31:20 You don't know yet? Hold on. Okay. All right. There we go. Yeah, yeah. Hi. Hi.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Hello. Okay. So let us know what you think in the comments band and let's go to our next story. And that's the Masters of the Universe has found a new life on streaming after topic. in the Nielsen chart, and this might lead to a sequel. Masters of the Universe may not have had the power on the big screen, but the reboot has found a new lease on life since making a streaming debut on July 22nd. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie shot to number one in the Nielsen's overall
Starting point is 00:31:58 streaming ratings for July 20th, 26. Masters of the Universe scored 1.17 billion minutes of watch time for the week and was one of just two titles to cross the billion-minute threshold. The other was Big Bang Theory. The PG-13 fantasy adventure was met with a mostly positive reception from critics, and fans of the classic cartoon seen who embrace this colorful comedic adaptation. But a soft opening and a B-cinema score indicated that general audiences weren't quite as taken with the perhaps overly goofy tone, and it finishes theatrical run with just 113 million worldwide.
Starting point is 00:32:33 At the end of the day, there's no guarantee of box office success, even when a movie appears to tick all the right boxes, MGM Studios head up domestic theatrical distribution, Kevin Wilson, would have us believe that Masters of the Universe perform well. This weekend represents a very solid star for Masters of the Universe and the passionate multi-generational audience response we're seeing around the world has been fantastic, he said, when the opening weekend numbers came in. Travis Knight and the entire cast and filmmaking team have delivered something truly special, and this opening is exactly the kind of critical first moment that validates our holistic distribution strategy. building awareness and engagement that will carry well beyond the theatrical window. Nobody really bought into this, of course, but is there a chance that Masters of Universe streaming success could result in a sequel? If the studio does decide to move forward with the follow-up, it will almost certainly be
Starting point is 00:33:21 a direct-to-streaming release with a significantly smaller budget, but it could happen. After somewhat overwhelming box office, here is the actual streaming ratings picture right here, so you can see Masters and Universe at 1.173 billion minutes, or a million, minute however they said that previously yeah yeah yeah one point 173 would be billion excuse me uh big bang theory at 1.1 2 to the hawk at 940 i gotta watch the hawk i heard that was actually pretty good um i got i got to check that out but beating out ride or die beating out at the house of the dragon beating out bluey yo mass of the universe beat out bluey that's wild blueie don't lose nothing bro i don't even be watching no blueie but all of my parent friends they'd be talking about how
Starting point is 00:34:05 Bluey that shit. I love when I get to babysit my friend's kids and I'm like, should we put on Bluey? I mean, for you guys? For you guys. Dude. I heard Bluey go so hard, bro. Bluey, we be going through some things, man. Like, take all the stuff that Doug and Tommy and Chuckie and Phil and Lil
Starting point is 00:34:25 we're going through and shove all that together and that's Bluey, bro. Like, including the parents. The funniest part about Rugrats in retrospect is actually the parents. Both for two reasons. One, they are so absurd. They are so absurd, but two, that horrible realization that you are actually older than Tommy, Tommy's parents, because I believe they're like 29 and 30. And I'm like, almost they've got some city miles on them, though. Stu, Stu's been living a rough life. Stu's, that's the thing. He looks like he's been going through some stuff. Let me, let me double check
Starting point is 00:34:57 this. How old is Stu from Rugrats? I'm pretty sure he was supposed to be 30. Yeah, okay, he's like, between, they say he's between 33 and 35. So yeah, the fact that I'm older than Stu is, bro, moisturized. Like, what the fuck? Like, I know you're stressed because you were a more or less failed toy inventor, but like, damn, bro. But okay, so what do you think?
Starting point is 00:35:26 Masters of the universe, you think this will garner a sequel? Listen, probably because Jeff Bezos has more money than God. And he loves this. So he's just going to be like, let's keep making out. I heard he's about to buy a soccer team. I don't know which one, but he's about to buy one of the majors. Yeah. What the hell?
Starting point is 00:35:44 Yeah. Like, this movie, I know, I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, especially if you were like a he man fan who wanted like a, a like gritty, like brutal kind of story. This is perfectly stupid. And I enjoy that. Much the Hawk. perfectly stupid. I enjoy these kinds of things. I think they're fun. They're ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:36:09 But it also is easy to watch something that is just on your streaming services. So that's kind of where the gap is here on the success, right? Well, it didn't do well theatrically at all, but then everyone found it on streaming. And maybe that will make people go see it in theaters because there is the data right that shows if you release your movie first and then put it on streaming, it always does better. Just that is how this works. And it can find a larger audience who then maybe will in turn go to go to the theater to go see it. This is one though, I feel like people are going to stick with the streaming aspect of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Like one of the things I truly love about it and I think it's why so many people hate it is it looks like a really high budget CW show. Like it looks like a product of the 90s. I mean, yeah, it does look like a product of the 90s, which I appreciate it to be honest with you. Yeah. I thought it was fun. I did.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Well, especially for somebody that knows virtually nothing about He-Man. I was not a He-Man person. I was before my time because you're talking early 80s. I was born in the late 80s. So I just didn't watch it. I know some of the basic player, but I don't know anything about them. Like I know, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Wait, why did I get PLD? This is bullshit. You're older and uglier than Chris. That's why. You know what? It's the, it's the, it's the, it's the, it's the, it's the, it's the, it's the, mustache. This is the connection. This is my voice, if y'all don't know, is this
Starting point is 00:37:36 inner white man with caps. That's, that's what I have. And I have, I have, look, because I also have many times been a beard. I was just going to say Disney love, so. That's true too. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:56 We're all fired. We're all getting tired. This is what happened when Christian goes out of town, baby. He's going to just send us a text letter like, what the hell's wrong with all of you? Why was the show all about farts and nonsense? Oh, my God. That's his normal show. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Back to it. Back to it. Oh, Jesus. I've been many times with a beard. I just... And you would think with all this gas issues, I would not be sitting here drinking coffee with cold foam in it. No. You got to just expedite this situation.
Starting point is 00:38:32 my pal like you gotta yeah the more or less more or less um but i wanted to point this out really quick this is stew and dd at 33 and 32 years old bro they literally look like they have been too warm but why is ddie's hairline fading quicker than stephen a smiths like that shit is crazy like ddie girl kids one kid she had one child at this point yeah She just has Tommy and he's barely one. Like I get it. They're not sleeping at the beginning, but like granddad is there to help you babysit. I guess it's just because Stu Zazpin, look at this.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Look at him trying to pour this coffee because he knows it's another day of going to my basement to be a failure. How am I going to pay this damn mortgage? I think this is the meme where it's, Stu, what are you doing? Making chocolate pudding and contemplating my life. Is that what that is? It's something like that because I remember seeing it as an adult and going, oh, no, I'm stew pickles now. But dude, there's no way, there's no way that this is, they age way faster than this.
Starting point is 00:39:39 They had to. They had to age faster than this because I don't know what today is supposed to reference here because it doesn't say what year this is, but I just, I just had to point this out, man. That is, that is kind of crazy. Wild. Yeah. That's a little nuts. Oh, here was the one we were using so that we have that for them.
Starting point is 00:39:57 But yeah, I think that this could give some serious life to Masters of the University. to get back to the topic at hand. And again, I knew He-Man, I had heard of Shira, I knew about BattleCat, but I really didn't know the intricate details and all that kind of stuff. So for somebody that was fresh to it, I enjoyed it. But I do see that this is a streaming, straight-to-streaming thing. My only question is, do these stars that are in this, like the Idris Elba's and the Allison Breeze and all that, now that they haven't done television, it's something that
Starting point is 00:40:26 goes back and forth, would they want to be a part of this direct-to-streaming sequel? or they're like, I'm good. You know what I mean? If it's not going to continue to produce, you know, theatrical releases would be kind of where my brain would go. That's true. And it's always hard to tell from behind the scenes looks at stuff.
Starting point is 00:40:43 But Allison Bray looked like she was having a blast freaking everybody out in her little bald cap. Because I don't know if you saw this. She has so much hair. Yeah. To have her little blonde bob popping out of her like headpiece, they had to wig cap her. So she's just running around with a bald head.
Starting point is 00:41:00 and then this little bit here, like she's riff-raff from Rocky Horror Picture Show and just like jump it out and people and be like, eh. So essentially what you're telling me then is, is she's out here in these streets looking like Didi with that faded-ass hairline already. Yeah, 100%. Damn.
Starting point is 00:41:19 That's embarrassing. It seems like they had fun on this one. And we also aren't having Jared Leto coming back to it. So I feel like, you know, for the most part, it sounded like all of these actors really enjoyed being around each other, had fun because this was so. so goofy and ridiculous. Idriselba is hilarious and does not get to do comedy enough.
Starting point is 00:41:36 And, you know, someone pointed this out in the stream. Yoshimitsu, he did do the Knuckles show, so he's not opposed to doing streaming. And I would argue he's probably the biggest star in that mix. Yeah, a thousand percent, what, it's, it's Jared Leto, him, Allison Brie. Because I'm just thinking about the people that were like, like, he's on a rise, you know, he just a chief detectives. He does those Amazon, red, white, and blue movies. movies.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Gosh, I can't remember her name. Veronica from Riverdale. Yes, I know what you're talking about. And everybody is pointing out, well, you know, he did hijack on Apple TV. He did a show, he did that DJ show for Netflix and everything. I get all that. I'm more I'm saying that in terms of the idea. It's one thing to start there and kind of do what feels like prestige TV or a show that's
Starting point is 00:42:25 like a hit and having that go forward versus we did a movie that was theatrically released and all that and it didn't do well enough, but they're going to go again so then they move it to like a streaming type thing. That's true. That hits a little differently. And that also your contract is different. Mm-hmm. So that's the only reason why I'm kind of saying it in that way. If you were coming into this thinking, hey, this is going to be a big theatrical franchise type thing that like I can make Guku bucks on and is going to get these releases versus now we're downshifting into kind of this, that may make people go, I'm good. That's the only thing. That's the only thing. thing that I'm thinking of. That's where you all of a sudden start randomly seeing recasts and
Starting point is 00:43:05 you're wondering why. You're like, oh, it might be because of that. That's more what I mean by that. For sure. Oh, but just real quickly to address here in the chat too, because some people are going, why wouldn't Letto come back? He was the best thing in this. To me, this is the best thing that was ever done. I think he's so funny in this. I think he's great. There have been many more accusations against him, y'all. And there are supposedly harassment and, and, Oh, I didn't hear about this. Yeah. And so, and these are all like alleged things right now.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Sure. But when it came to the marketing of this film, you have to remember, he was very absent. And the PR kind of take on it was, oh, we, we wanted, didn't want him to like overshadow the character. We wanted the character to speak for itself or something like that. Yeah. And also, did the med gallagest happen? Did it? It wasn't that a while ago?
Starting point is 00:43:59 the only reason why I'm confused is that I see it. Sorry for that random thing, but two articles just popped up out of nowhere when I looked up Jared Letto. The first, I'll just show you guys because I can share my screen. The first one is Jared Letto's Hollywood friends pulling away amid misconduct claims, but then he stuns in a dramatic black cape at the Met Gallo. And I was like, did I, not that I'm like super interested in the Met Gallo,
Starting point is 00:44:22 but wouldn't his invitation be rescinded right now if he was in the middle of all of this? So that's why I was just confused that it also. also says one day ago. Most things came out in July. The BBC reported on it, LA Times, variety and everything. And these were things that happened
Starting point is 00:44:37 between, I believe, 2002 and 2016. So the statute of limitations are also up on a lot of these accusations. And again, they are accusations. I'm not saying these as things that have absolutely
Starting point is 00:44:48 been proven in court or anything like that. I personally always find it troubling when somebody repeatedly, repeatedly, repeatedly has accusations made against him. The whole 30 seconds to Mars Island situation is something else that gives me a lot of pause.
Starting point is 00:45:03 There's just a lot of weird stuff here that I could understand from a studio perspective of going, is this somebody who we want to keep in our franchise? Is this somebody who makes our other actors feel safe? And again, it could all be like absolute nonsense that people are saying and I completely respect that that could be what's happening here. However, again, when people are constantly coming forward, it just gives me a bit of pause. Just trying to,
Starting point is 00:45:32 that galo was in May. That's what I thought. So why is Yahoo posting this dance? Because Yahoo's an idiot sometimes. Honestly. And real quick, I want to throw it out there. I've had a thing against Jared Lederer ever since.
Starting point is 00:45:45 I found out that Jared Letto was supposed, was actually the character he played in Blade Runner, 2049, which is my favorite movie of the 2010s. It was supposed to be played by my boy at Harris. So now you have a reason to hate, You see now you have a reason to hate him. Reason to hate. How awesome would that,
Starting point is 00:46:00 Ed Harris in that moment? Come on now. I mean, for you, it would be fantastic. For everybody else, it would be, wow, that was a good performance. That was a great performance. But for you, that's part of your spank bag for the weekend.
Starting point is 00:46:15 That would have been, that would have been perfect. Josh, number one with a bullet, baby. But yeah, so, so we'll see what happens with messages. the universe. We want to know what you think, though. Is it something that garneres the sequel? Would you want to see it if it was going straight to streaming or would you pass? I'd be very, very curious where your minds are at on that one. Keep setting those super chats. We were at 20 so
Starting point is 00:46:41 far. We got a couple stories left before we get to them. Let's see if we could a bare minimum beat what we did yesterday. That would be dope as F. But please, I would love to win this week. It would be really, really awesome. And like I said, it's my anniversary come Monday. So then if I get the bonus. I can go buy my fiancee something really nice. So help about that. All righty. We got to talk about it. Dave Batista is officially replacing Ryan Hurst's Credos in the God of War series. It was in talks before, but now here we are. Back in July, we learned that Sony and Amazon's MGM live action God of War adaptation suffered a major setback with Ryan Hurst sustained a torn bicep. Yikes, while filming an action scene. Since Hurst, lengthy, lengthy recovery time meant that the actor
Starting point is 00:47:24 would most likely not have been ready to return to the set until next year, the decision was made to recast the role of Crato, so it is very sad to hear. The trades recently reported that Dave Batista of Guardians of the Galaxy in Dune fame was in talks to replace the Sons of Anarchan Star, and we now have confirmation that the former WWE champion has officially signed on to play Cratos. Got a war has already been given a two-season order from Prime Video, and all seasons were scheduled to shoot back-to-back. Makes sense.
Starting point is 00:47:49 There's a kid involved as one of the main characters. Much better idea, Stranger Things. Coming originally began in Vancouver in February, and the production is expected to resume in the coming weeks. Now that Batista's locked in, all of her scenes will be reshot. Again, makes sense. Despite reports to the contrary, it seems Kalam Vizin remains attached to play Kratos' son Arthraeus, I believe is how you say that. Additional cast members include Max Parker as Heimdell, Ulfur Dari Olfson as Thor, Mandy Patentkin as Odin, Alistair Duncan as Mee. Nemeaner. Danny Woodburn and Jeff Golka as Dwarf Brothers Bork and Sindry and Ed Screen as Boulder. Feel like somebody just put a gun to my head for the last 10 seconds.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Uh, yeah, that's the main stuff about God of War. So yeah, Chris, uh, do you hear all of this? Are you excited for Batista to take over this role, or are you surprised at all? Because I know one of the things that he said is, he was tired of being mad jacked at this age. So where were you at? I genuinely was so worried first thing of,
Starting point is 00:49:01 no, he's going to have to eat so many rotisserie chickens again. He's going to have to be at the gym all the time. Hey, man, $5 at Costco. That's true. Well, it got recalled. There was a salmonella outbreak. No food is safe. What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:49:15 Wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on. Yeah. The Costco rotissory chickens on recall. I don't think it affected California. but let me double check. That might explain. Okay. Your tuteness?
Starting point is 00:49:31 It might. Could it not be the Benadryl? So one of the, it might have actually been the chicken because because what I, what I appreciate is somebody volunteers for when we do dress rehearsals and the actual run of the show for this company. And I realized we officially named our, because you know they do Shakespeare in the park, we're barred in the yard. So I thought that was very cute that we have a name for it.
Starting point is 00:49:53 But somebody. volunteers to do dinner and somebody made baked potatoes with a pulled barbecue chicken. And she, I guess, used a Costco rotisserie chicken as like a base in order to do that. If that's the case, oh, no, dude. For sure chicken sausages got recalled. But I was house sitting and the gal I was house sitting for was like, so sorry I didn't grab a Costco chicken for you. Because she was like, what food can I leave? And I was like, just grab me a little $5 chickie.
Starting point is 00:50:21 And then while she was out of town, she was like, hey, I think they got recalled and sent me an article. But anyhow, that's not what we're here to talk about. No, we've talked enough about my farting. Yes, we're here to talk about Dave Batista. I'm worried about him having to get back in shape, you know, because he seemed like he was much happier being this like slimmer version of himself. He is a fantastic actor. He is an actor who I've so respected because he's putting the time to get proper training to.
Starting point is 00:50:47 He talked about this at nauseam when it was coming to Guardians and for Dune in particular. of I want to make sure that I am doing the best job I can, so I'm working with coaches, I'm working with, I'm treating this like how you train physically for a job. I've got to get that acting training in. So I have no problem with him coming into the role and I think he'll do well. I am heartbroken for Ryan Hurst. I have loved this dude since, I remember the Titans, you know, like he's wonderful. Sons of Anarchy, he was so good on that show.
Starting point is 00:51:19 And he looked so much like Cretos, you know. he had the whole look going there. He has that nice deep booming voice, as does Bautista. But I'm just really bummed for him on this. And he's also a voice in the games as well. I believe he voices Thor. So I'm hoping. I'm hoping he can like come back in as something else. And I understand because you have a lot of money already sunk into this show, you have a young actor who's been cast to play his son who is going to age in real time. So you have to think about that in your production and everything. It just bums me out that he doesn't get to take on this role, especially because part of him tearing that bicep or is that, is that what he did? His bicep got torn? Because he did that
Starting point is 00:52:01 for this, you know, that's what stinks. Again, it's, I know people, the people that are on here, I don't want to talk about no goddamn sports. It's relevant because this is again, when you look at a scenario, football is kind of the best example of that. There's this idea of like, if you're this superstar, there's this job security if you get hurt, et cetera, et cetera. But that's the thing. A great example. You end up with Tom Brady because Drew Bloodso gets hurt. They bring
Starting point is 00:52:28 Tom in and Tom is so good that by the time that Drew Bloodsoe is ready to go again, they're like, sorry, bro, you lost your job. It happened to him a second time. He then goes to Dallas. Same thing. He gets hurt. Tony Romo goes in. Tony Romo is so good. Sorry, bud. You lost your job.
Starting point is 00:52:45 It happens a decent amount of time and this is that thing that really sucks for Ryan because I especially feel I didn't even realize that he had been working all this time. Obviously, he's had success if you were on Sons of Anarchy. You were on Walking Dead. You know, he just did The Odyssey, you know, the fact that he's been acting all the way back since Remember the Titans. But I would make the argument he is to that point a B or C-less actor as far as things go.
Starting point is 00:53:13 This is a possibility because of how big of the IP is. This could have potentially shot him to A-LIS super startup. This could have been a vehicle that puts him as a true household name and not someone go, I know that guy from something. You know what I mean? And so I do feel bad for him, especially like you said, he's already been a part of God of War, that he'd already been doing the workout for it.
Starting point is 00:53:34 And the fact that of all things, it wasn't like a freak accident that happened to you outside of work or you did something stupid. You did it on the job. And unfortunately, that you lost the job. So I can't even imagine what I genuinely hope. I don't know him as a person, obviously. I hope that he has good people around him because that's the type of thing that can lead to some pretty serious depression if we're just keeping it 100 is thinking if you had a job you were really excited about and you lost that and all that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 00:54:02 I really hope that he's just got good folks around him so it doesn't affect him too much because on top of that, the PT for a torn biceps is going to be pretty shitty. Like I'm just called that right now. Oh my gosh. So well said. Yeah. And that's something that a lot of times we just don't even take into consideration. So good addition there, man. I do want to just clarify.
Starting point is 00:54:22 It's a class action lawsuit that Costco is part of where people are claiming, a group is claiming that there's salmonella. So eat your chickens, but also maybe not their chicken sausage. I don't know. What food is safe? Can we eat lettuce again? Blueberry. Talk?
Starting point is 00:54:34 Yeah. The all, well, the only things you can't eat still, I guess. I don't know. I love Snatch. Can still eat that too. You can still eat that too, for sure. Definitely for sure. Good thing.
Starting point is 00:54:53 It's anniversary weekend. Okay, so let's see. Our next story here, countdown to the Avengers, or countdown to Avengers Doomsday podcast is announced with Miss Marvel star, Iman Valani. Avengers Doomsday is on course
Starting point is 00:55:06 to break all manner of box office records this December, and Marvel Studios will continue to build hype for the movie by launching an official. podcast. Countdown to Avengers Doomsday official podcast will take fans behind the scenes of the MCU revisiting all the major moments leading up to Doomsday, hosted by Frank Alvarez. Oh, Frankie Alvarez,
Starting point is 00:55:26 eh, of Smodown fame. And the Marvel star Iman Villani. They'll be rewatching the Avengers, Avengers Age of Ultron, Captain America Civil War, Avengers Infinity War, and Avengers Endgame across five episodes, recapping all the fan favorite moments and discussing each film's cultural legacy. Of course, I had to put Civil War in there because that was actually not a Captain America movie. That was Avengers 2.5. It may, it sounds like a fun ride for fans, and who knows,
Starting point is 00:55:53 we may even get some Avengers Doomsday insights along the way. Belani is rumored to reprise her role in the movie. The first episode will launch on August 27th with the new episodes airing weekly. The fifth episode, which discusses Marvel Studios, Avengers End Game, will coincide with the September 25th re-release of Avengers
Starting point is 00:56:09 End Game Encore in theaters. Countdown to Avengers Doom's Day podcast will be available on Disney Plus and YouTube with the audio-only versions on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. I love how everybody, that's enough of that real quick. I love how everybody has that same thing when they pitch their podcast. You can find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere you get your podcast. Or it'll be like, you can find us on Apple Podcasts, IHeart Radio, Spotify, or anywhere you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:56:33 Like, they always have that with every single one or wherever you get your podcast is at the end of every tag. Amy always does that. We're on whatever is your pod catcher of choice. Not podcatcher. Love it, love it, love it. But yeah, are you going to listen to this one? Or is this something that has you interested? Or you're like, man, I can do it on my own.
Starting point is 00:56:53 I don't want me. I love Amani. So, I mean, maybe. This is the thing. I've frown, too, because I don't have a commuter anymore. I really don't listen to podcasts anymore or books on or audio books or anything. And I'd love to get back into it because I miss them. I miss the sporkful and all those things I was listening to before.
Starting point is 00:57:09 But these are also two people who know their stuff. and it's always fun listening to this space. This is where you're going to be like, Chris, don't reveal too much. I've said it before on this show. I don't really watch a lot of movie news. Like, I don't watch a lot of like stuff in our space. I read the trades, you know? I talk with my friends.
Starting point is 00:57:29 I make sure that I go to all my sag after meetings and things like that. But other than that, I really don't like stay enveloped in this world too much. And I think that's probably just because since it is our job, for me, I need breaks. And so this, I think, would be a fun thing to listen to and could help me get a little bit more hyped because I'm still struggling with that. But I don't know if it's something I'm going to, like, flock to. I think it's something the next time I have to, like, drive out to Santa Monica for a gig.
Starting point is 00:57:58 I'll listen in on this. Yeah. Yeah. I feel that. I feel that a thousand percent. I mean, I was planning on, I need to start doing it soon because it's a lot of movies. I sort of just did a, God, I guess it was like a five or six year rewatch of the MCU
Starting point is 00:58:17 trying to get my fiance to watch the movies. And part of that is because it was just really slow for her. It wasn't something she was like clamoring to do. And we got stuck on Thor the Dark World for like three years. Like she just wouldn't watch Thor the Dark World. Because it's my own fault because she already was like, and Thor is interesting, but I don't know. It was kind of old school.
Starting point is 00:58:40 I don't, I don't, whatever. And she had heard from so many people that it wasn't good. It's just like, I don't want to do it. I refuse to do it. And then one day when we had to build a bookshelf, she goes, put it on while we're building in the bookshelf. Fine. And then we rolled through the rest.
Starting point is 00:58:53 The way it was intended to be viewed. And then we watched a whole bunch of them. And then we got stuck again on Dr. Strange because she, she has this weird, just like weird hate for Benedict Cumberbatch. she says he just looks like he's annoying as shit. And I was like, yo, Betty, Betty, Betty, see, he's the man. Like what? And she was like, I don't like him.
Starting point is 00:59:19 He just got a smug-ass face. And I was like, Amy has the same thing specifically as Dr. Strange. But Dr. Strange. She's like, I hate him. Or Bennett and Cumberbatch. It's always, she doesn't like Bennett at Cumberbatch as an American in anything. But it's Dr. Strange. She hates.
Starting point is 00:59:36 She's just like, I don't like him. I don't like a smug little face. I don't like the way he talks. Interesting. Yeah. Yeah. She's not a fan. She's not a fan.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Real quick, it was funny. I saw somebody talking just to divert for half a second. Somebody was talking about I don't feel bad for NFL players. Like the average salary sits around $3 million. Well, you got to take a couple things in consideration. Remember that word average.
Starting point is 01:00:03 You also have to think about top tier earners are. going to fully F up an average. So a lot of the people that are actually there are kind of the way you talk about below the line with like people who talk about Hollywood, man, people of Hollywood are averaging like 10 million a movie and shit. Again, you got to think about all the people that are essentially like all of the grips, all the whatever else. They're making like worker salaries or barely able to hold down jobs. A lot of those NFL players, the average career is only three years because there's only, what, 22 starters. and then everybody else are bench players and or practice squad folks
Starting point is 01:00:37 or everything else. And then you got to think about taxes. You have to pay your agent. You have to pay your lawyer, all that stuff. So if you're, say, making a million a year, you're probably actually making
Starting point is 01:00:45 closer to like $350, $400, which is very good. Let's keep it a buck. That is very good. But this idea of like, you can just put all that shit in the bank and not touch anything. That's not necessarily the case
Starting point is 01:00:55 depending on what stuff is, who you have to take care of, etc. But that's beside the point. I just wanted to say. How many seasons do you get? That's the other thing. You did that for one season, and then all of a sudden you got to go work at Burger King.
Starting point is 01:01:06 You know what I'm saying? Like, again, no knock on going to work at Burger King or anything else. I work plenty of day jobs to try and survive even to this day. But I'm just saying this idea of automatically, if you're a professional athlete, to just say, you've got it all. Go F yourself. That's not how that truly works. So in T ways, yeah. So I'm excited for this podcast.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Chris is excited for this podcast. We got one more story that. that Luke sent us that we'll talk and then we'll get to the questions. Keep sending them in. We appreciate it. Avengers Endgame Encore runtime is revealed and how it compares to the 2019 Avengers Endgame is explained. On September 25th, Marvel Studios will release Avengers Endgame Encore,
Starting point is 01:01:49 the extended version of the 2019 movies expected to include a custom introduction, additional new footage, and a special N-tag exclusive to Infinity Vision and IMAX releases. While many fans are expecting everything from an appearance by Dr. Doom to surprise cameos, We're not anticipating more than a new scene near the end of the movie. And a post-credit scene that teased up December's Avengers Doomsday. That and getting to watch Avengers Endgame on the big screen again are compelling enough reasons to buy a ticket, however. Now AMC is revealed that the Avengers Endgame Encore will have a runtime of 185 minutes,
Starting point is 01:02:21 which is four minutes longer, an entire four minutes, than Avengers Endgame 181 minutes. Now, that's not a lot of extra content, but it lines up with what we've heard about the extended cut cuts additional scenes. The folks are expected to be on Steve Rogers, who at Tony Stark's funeral will talk to AMN about traveling back in time. We also expect Loki to appear during a previously unseen moment of his time working in the TVA.
Starting point is 01:02:46 It's unclear whether these scenes will be exclusive to Avengers Endgame encore or if there are clips from Avengers Doomstay that have been inserted in the predecessor's narrative. But Avengers Endgame opened to an eye-watering $1.2 billion worldwide six years ago. It broke countless records at the time, many of which it still holds. For a time, Avengers Endgame was the highest grossing movie. we ever at 2.799 billion worldwide. However, Avatar's re-released during the pandemic saw the James Cameron helm
Starting point is 01:03:11 Blockbuster return to the top spot. That should change when Avengers Endgame Encore arrives. Okay, yep, we all know the story. Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris. Where is your mind at about this? Is four minutes enough time for you to say, yeah, I'll go buy a ticket and see that. or you're just like, you know what, I would love to see this on the big screen again,
Starting point is 01:03:34 or you're like, I don't care, I will just go to Doomsday. Where, what do you think? I mean, listen, I've got A list. I'm already seated, you know? I knew I was going to go. I knew. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:44 An extra four minutes. Okay. An extra four. Yeah. Yeah. All right. The, it doesn't really move the needle more for me. Am I excited that there's going to be like a new post credit that ties this into Doomsday?
Starting point is 01:04:02 to T.S. off a little bit. Yeah, I think that'll be neat. And I am excited to see this on the big screen again. Is it something that I'm like pre-buying my ticket for or anything like that? No. If it fits into my week and my schedule, I'm absolutely going to go. Or, you know, I'll do my usual, hey, can I get in at Universal at 9 a.m.? Let's do it. But like, I don't, I don't know. Four minutes extra. What if I tell you it's a fantastic four minutes? the number of times I want to boo you so hard right now PLD like I really
Starting point is 01:04:38 I I I I I No baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby but those four minutes weren't we connected Wasn't it magical? No No
Starting point is 01:04:53 I'm a dad cut me some slack here's your slack oh man like literally bro you said that and all I could hear in my head was like I was like seriously seriously but no I am I I will be seated I will be seated I'm I eat breathe and sleep everything Infinity War and game so I'm very excited about that but especially the
Starting point is 01:05:27 the concept of getting this movie back to being the king of movies as the greatest box office ever. I, because it's been made very clear that I really don't F with Avatar, every time it keeps taking that spot, I'm just like, I even did it when I was reading the story. So like,
Starting point is 01:05:44 if I could do something over. Hey, man, that's called good action. So nuanced. He's grounded. I'm grounded. I never get that note. You never get the grounded note?
Starting point is 01:06:01 I never get the grounded note. I always get, Hey, Chris, we're doing a lot with this. And I'm like, my face? It just, it really depends because sometimes I'm doing, hold on. I might have one screenshot of me. Let me see if I can find it. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:06:17 From last night. Because if I do, I can at least share that. Let's see, let's see, let's see from the dress rehearsal. No, no, no, no. I've had people tell me to try to make my eyes smaller. Okay, here we go. Let me see. How do I...
Starting point is 01:06:37 I've got to open it. Man, wild. Let me make sure that nothing... Sorry, I got to open my photos app. Let me make sure that nothing incriminating is about to show up right now, because that would be... Yeah, exactly. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:06:51 Great. Great. Great. Awesome. Sweet. So cool. you see i'm a laugh with y'all get this there i got it i got it okay i got it you jackasses you see look look look at this man look at his man right there he just he's out here very very just like
Starting point is 01:07:14 like intubid just like i'm talking nonsense i'm clearly talking nonsense right now and this is a very funny moment this is this is where everybody uh for those that aren't familiar with 12th night i'm playing my volio where the whole house who hates me works to trick me into thinking that the lady of the house is in love with me and that I might become the new count of the estate. So I'm out here just bloviating about how much she loves me and what I'm going to do with my power and blah, blah, blah. So yeah, it's going to be a good time.
Starting point is 01:07:48 But, but yeah, I don't know how we got here. ADHD is a powerful, powerful drug. Your hatred of Avatar. Oh, right. Right, my hatred of Avatar. No, we were talking about your face. Well, yeah, but that's how we ultimately got here. But yeah, I'm always told that I'm too expressive, which I'm just like, well, I don't know what to do with that.
Starting point is 01:08:09 Just keep being yourself. That's pretty much, you know. Maybe next year when I turned 40, I'll just get loaded on Botox and just like, I'll never move it again. I'll just look like I'm fresh out of the canal. Right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right. So, yep, that is, that is, that is all fair. But either way, y'all, that is the question. Are you going to go see Endgame Encore?
Starting point is 01:08:33 You're going to help make this movie the highest grossing movie of all time again? Or are you like, I don't care. I just want to see Dune's Day. Let us always think in the comments. But, yeah, we are now on to the questions. So if you want to support us, if you've been enjoying this, we really would appreciate it if you send in those super chats. I have got 31 so far, which is, again, a good start for us being at that halfway
Starting point is 01:08:55 marker. come on through and throw in some super chats. And Ron H is back with a vengeance. Happy Friday. It's thrusting in the media with BBC featuring Ebony and Ivory. Let's... So stupid. No, it was it?
Starting point is 01:09:16 No, it wasn't. Because that would be a deep beat twist between your brunette hair and me being light skin. We just did a whole flip. You know what I mean? That would be real funny. Let's F and go. Ron H are back together So watch out
Starting point is 01:09:30 Lantern shining that light On the BBC Making it look green I heard the green ones Be pretty good though apparently So green BBC Yeah yeah yeah Ron H coming back
Starting point is 01:09:40 Whoops I meant to say Ron H And Ronnie Are back Ronnie Ron H coming in again May watch spot weekend Looks fun
Starting point is 01:09:50 Gonna be Halloween Is that what you're talking about So speaking to which Ebony Ivory Hollywood L.O.L. Honestly, I think you both would like it. No matter what state you watch it in,
Starting point is 01:10:00 I'd really like to know what you think about it. Even Christian Harlow. I finally started watching Hollywood before this show. What do you think? It's ridiculous. It is ridiculous. I've only seen, I said this before. I've seen the first 10 minutes and I was like,
Starting point is 01:10:16 I got to do something. I like walked away, but it is, it is ridiculous. It's ridiculous. It's fun. It's goofy. You can tell it's a early. early pilot, but it's pretty, it's pretty funny. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:30 So there you go, Ron H. Ron H sending even more superchance because Luke has seen it. We'll have Luke in the bubble again and have him talk about it. It'll be great. Yeah. Joy Pedres, just showing some love. Thank you, Joey. Look at you with a little gray in the beard looking all, all extra, just like a wise and
Starting point is 01:10:47 grizzle. Come on now, Joy Pedres. That's like an author's like back jacket of the book. Yeah. Joey's kind of giving me a little Oscar Isaac, you know, a little bit of Benzbo-Bascal. You know what I'm saying? Like, come on now, Joey, I see you dog. Christian Arellano, I believe is how you say that?
Starting point is 01:11:09 Anthony Starr's Magneto or some other MCU villain. Oh, interesting. I don't know about Magneto. I haven't seen him outside of the boys. Same. I just don't want to see it. Homelander is not Magneto. So I, like, there is, Magneto has a little bit of arrogance, but not the kind of arrogance that, that, that, that, um, Homelander portrays.
Starting point is 01:11:32 There is a lot more, like, wisdom and, like, kind of more vengeance in him. Um, so Anthony Starr is a very good actor. So I, I just, I don't have a frame of reference to that kind of fitting. Like, I, I, I, I, to be honest with you, based off of seeing him his homelander, he would be a great mojo. He would be an absolutely great mojo. in my opinion. But I don't know. We would have to wait and see.
Starting point is 01:11:59 What do you think? Where would you want Anthony Starterland? No pun intended. I don't know. Because yeah, I've only seen him as Homelander or in interviews where he's just, you know, his charming Australian self. I really have to think I'm more. I need to watch more of his filmography.
Starting point is 01:12:14 Yoshimitsu says maybe a Trasker or a Gyrick. Now that I would agree with. I like that. I would agree with because because especially Trask and Guy Rick also like Mojo is just, you know, a capitalist, sociological. Like he just wants to make all his money. Tras and Geyric, there's some hate in his heart. And again, we've seen because of Homelander, he just has a hate for everybody that isn't him.
Starting point is 01:12:35 That this is, this feels like a good fit to me. It honestly be a really interesting Senator Kelly as well. Yes. He would also be a very interesting Senator Kelly. I agree with that as well. Yoshibitsu coming in again. I'm interested in the Naruto movies since I haven't seen the show. I like the Bleach Live Action movies.
Starting point is 01:12:50 So that, uh, that it got me so much that it got me into anime. Well, that's cool. that's awesome, but two, I absolutely, I am hoping that this movie is able to do that. And that, because I, I just will never be able to shake Dragonball evolution out of my mind. So anytime I hear a live adaptation of, live action adaptation of an anime, I start having like heart palpitations. So, you know, but we will see. We will see. I'm very excited about it again because of DDC.
Starting point is 01:13:20 So, uh, Ron H. My dude has always been Rock Lee. Drunken Fist. Yeah, dude. Right, dude. So you haven't seen Naruto, right? No, but he's the one who has the little like... The bull cut.
Starting point is 01:13:33 Black hair, yeah. Okay. So he's, and Rockley and Mike guy are supposed to be kind of like an homage to like Bruce Lee and everything else like that. Makes sense. But like it's like with like this huge kind of dork at the same time. Rockley's whole thing is he is unable to do any of the ninja magic that everybody else is. He just has Taiju-zu, which is essentially just hand-to-hand-hand. fighting and he is the absolute best at it. His master is the only one who's even better than him,
Starting point is 01:14:02 but he's absolute best at it. And he accidentally one time goes to, he gets ESF surgery and he needs to take his medication for recovery. He accidentally takes a bottle that looks just like his medicine, but it's actually sake. So he ends up discovering he is a drunken master because of this. And he is infinitely more destructive on while he's in drunken master form or drunken fist form than than his regular marshal. It's kind of insane. Me too. But it's real...
Starting point is 01:14:28 But it is, it is oh, so sweet. It's one of my favorite sequences in the show when that happened. Hell yeah. I'm excited to watch it. Hell yeah. Ron H.
Starting point is 01:14:39 BBC and the DDC. Coincidence? Yeah, probably. Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Yoshimitsu, as a non-fan of the original Masters of the Universe,
Starting point is 01:14:50 I love the movie in the theater and again on streaming. I hope the watch numbers do make a sequel possible. Especially for, I know that Joseph Ashley has asked for it and some other people. I know a lot of folks really want a Thundercats movie. So you would think because of how close they are and if there's talk of if they did it, they would try and do a crossover and things like that.
Starting point is 01:15:10 They would, this movie needed to do well. So if there's any hope for a Thundercats and everything else, this needs to kind of take off. So, you know, there's that too. There is that too. Cam 8282, favorite Naruto character. Hmm. Kakashi is up there. Naruto's up there.
Starting point is 01:15:27 Probably Minato, which is Naruto's dad. For those I don't know, he is a supreme badass. You meet him much later in the show. I don't want to explain why, because I don't want to ruin anything for anybody, but Naruto's dad is a fucking beast,
Starting point is 01:15:47 and I love that character so much. So yeah, that would probably be my answer. Jay Morgan 3977 really enjoyed the pilot of lanterns. You guys think John used the ring for, you know, protection. I bet people have already made that joke. Now that time, no, because he didn't have the ring. If you think about it. He uses it to light her cigarette.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Oh, to light her cigarette. He did have the ring at the time. I forgot. Why did he, oh, he gave it to him before. Because how he was getting arrested. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Now I remember. Now I remember.
Starting point is 01:16:19 So it doesn't go into evidence. That's a great question. You know he makes bubble wrap. I mean. I think the only thing funnier is that that looked like it did look like a thought bubble of mind because it is a thought that I had and I was debating how I was going to say it. And this both like that was actually pretty genius. Way to go. Way to go.
Starting point is 01:16:43 But doesn't it also take an immense amount not only of imagination, but also concentration. So like. Hey man. What if you. I never understood when people were like, man, I can't have no road. fun because, you know, I can't focus. I'm like, you, come on, man, y'all ain't never done no planks. You ain't never done no wall since.
Starting point is 01:17:03 You can't do two things at once where, like, your body is clearly going through something, but you just right here, you locked in. Never? That's crazy because that's, because that's fun. The road trip, you know what I'm talking about? You just, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. We hear at the Christian Harlov show, do not advocate for you to break any laws while on the road. Is that a law?
Starting point is 01:17:24 Is that a law? never seen a law that says you can't have no fun while you drive it i never heard that before my life that's making up laws and shit christopher hey oh too do you think a vincent saga adaptation would work uh yorick thompson would kill as ask lad i do not know vinlan saga personally do you do you follow that i don't know what any of this is okay then we are not sure we are so sorry christopher Is this more God of War stuff? Vinland Saga. No.
Starting point is 01:17:59 Like, I'm just, it's just a, it's another anime. It's a different anime thing. Okay. Yeah, I just,
Starting point is 01:18:05 I was like, I don't think I know what this is. I'm so sorry, Christopher. I had heard of it before, but I just didn't, I'm just, I haven't seen it,
Starting point is 01:18:14 so I apologize. So maybe, but I would have to go watch and see my apologies. Hashbraid 2511, Aaron Pierre. That's Mufasa. is so damn good as John Stewart,
Starting point is 01:18:27 could be a generational casting. I mean, I agree with you. I'm really, really impressed with him, and I'm really, really impressed with Kyle Chandler, man. Because the fact that they show us him in 96 and then show us them again in 2016 and to really see, and that's what a veteran actor like Kyle Chandler will do,
Starting point is 01:18:48 I just got the job, proud on the job, like all kind of like, you know, whatever, like rookie superhero to, griseled, F you kid, like, you're not replacing me. He's crushing it. Oh, and the halogram moment, too, of just. Still bright eye and bushy tail as a backup. Gosh.
Starting point is 01:19:06 And I know I've said it before, such a nice guy. Such a nice guy, y'all. He is so, so sweet. I'm so happy that he's in this show. When did you meet him? When I did background work for Friday Night Lights when I was in college. You did background work for Friday Night Lights, you son of a bitch. Oh, I would have felt to do that.
Starting point is 01:19:23 and I would go to, I was going to St. Edwards. So, like, they'd film right outside my college all the time. It was the best. And he was so nice. You'd actually come talk to us. Or if you ran into him on set, he was always just so sweet. Dude, it's so funny because I believe it. But I did a little bit of background work.
Starting point is 01:19:40 Also, it would have been summer before senior year of college. I've talked about a lot. I was the background on community. It was like the fourth episode of community. And Chevy Chase was really. nice to me, but everybody else that has said it has been, well, that was the whole thing. But, but I understand based off of like what people have said, we did, um, the one scene in that I'm in that I'm walking back and forth, they did some like 20 or 30 tanks because he could
Starting point is 01:20:13 not get his line down. And he started to get a little like, like, pissy and indignant as that was going to be like, come on, man, can you please just get the line? He's like, well, it's a stupid line anyway. Now again, he wasn't mean to me, but I could see where that could escalate to other people, especially over years if he, the older he got, like, it sounds like he's always been a Dixon's back in the S&L days. A lot of reports have said, but obviously, for those that follow the boondocks, sink meter only got worse, the older he got. Like, I can see the same kind of thing happening with Chevy, but, uh, but yeah, that's crazy that you were, that you were on Friday Night Lights, man, I'm so jealous. Yeah, um, it was a good gig. What season? I'm so curious.
Starting point is 01:20:50 That was a great question. I was doing it in probably 2008 to 2009 is when I was filming. Probably around season three-ish. Something like that. Anyway, Ron H. BBC and House. Love you guys. Love you, too, Ron. Thank you, man.
Starting point is 01:21:11 And thank you for coming in. And in a way, we are all stew pickles. Fook! I want to Fook! That's whatever I think of it, I actually, whenever these, sends in food, I think of a broad city. You want to food.
Starting point is 01:21:29 Gregory Dwop true. Okay, Chris plus Logan, Winston plus PLD. I'm here for this. That's Luke who's here, not Logan. Yeah, that's definitely Luke. No, no, no. I'm like, Luke's married to someone else. Nice, yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:48 I'm also not married to Winston, just to clear that off. I should clear that up. Not. No, again, you're married to that deep inner part of my brain, sir. That's what's scary is you have just wedged in there, and it's slowly spreading, like, the symbiote just over the course of the planet. The next thing you know, everybody just out here like carnage. Talk? As again, my favorite non-ins or character, I mentioned that earlier.
Starting point is 01:22:14 Some additional characters that I'm a big fan of, love. Shikamaru is great, really, really smart character. I love Killer B, even with him being a rapping idiot. I love that as well. But there's so many good characters in the show, man. I like Atachi. I don't get the Atachi glaze that everybody has, but I do like Atari. Huge support.
Starting point is 01:22:39 I don't know what a nuke is, and it's $2,000 of that dollar, but the red color means it's at least a Honda. So appreciate it. Hey, Ace Mageeage money, right? Hey, come on, Ace Mage, get it. Get it. Yo, yeah, I'll put a song for you, Ace Mage. Yo, yo, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:58 Ben, da, na, n'na, bena-na-na. I bet. Appreciate you, player. That's awesome. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Honestly, you might actually help us win with that. That was huge.
Starting point is 01:23:10 Yoshimitsu. I'm sad for Ryan Hurst, but I love Batista's, Kratos. He reads as older on screen these days, which is a good fit for the North Era God Award. totally fair. And obviously he wouldn't sign up for it if he wasn't willing to do it. I just know, I just genuinely know that he was like, I am done doing these workouts and stuff. I really just want to let my body do whatever. Because it will still be a prestige role in my opinion.
Starting point is 01:23:37 Like I think that he's going to bring a lot to it that can potentially garner him awards if the show is good and everything else. But, you know, if people have made a decision for their life. I get that he made the decision go back into it, but I wonder if there was a level of him that just like, okay, fine, and I'll do it. You know, so who knows? Who knows? But I can't wait to see it.
Starting point is 01:23:58 I know he's going to be awesome. Go, pal. I do not remember the man's name, but immediately knew who Ryan Hurst was when you mentioned Remember the Titans. Yeah. And that's the whole thing. I agree with that as well. I love remember.
Starting point is 01:24:13 He comes back and says, I love Remember the Titans, and there's a lot of, hey, I recognize that moment as a Northern Virginia kid. You know what I didn't know. And I got to say, you know, an immediate rest in peace, it didn't even dawn on me
Starting point is 01:24:24 that Hayden Pentieri was in Remember the Titans. If it hadn't been for the fact that I had seen it again, probably about four or five months ago, I randomly decided to watch Remember the Titans because I was on a sports movie kick at the time. And me going, oh, right. She's been acting for a long time.
Starting point is 01:24:43 I just want to give a little love to her again, man, because that was so tragic to hear. But yeah. So, yeah, NFL league minimum is a little over a millie. Not for rookies. And not necessary and not for particular types of players and all that. That's the one thing that I was saying. I know you probably Google that,
Starting point is 01:25:04 but like a rookie minimums a lot of times are sitting closer to 300 and 500 K, depending on where you were drafted and things like that. If you're dropped in the first round, you're making millions already. what I would actually recommend watching for everybody because there is a certain level of I get it and I've said the same thing before if you've had enough time to make millions doing the thing and you fully go broke
Starting point is 01:25:25 I can agree my sympathy levels go down but I highly recommend that if you have and if you guys like a good documentary go watch the ESPN's 30 for 30 called broke and there's just this really interesting breakdown on everything from nobody teaches you how to run your money you can get scammed by so many people like I got this great business venture.
Starting point is 01:25:44 So a lot of guys do think, oh, I am investing my money, and this is how I'm going to end up with the generational wealth of it all, but you get scammed by somebody. They get brought in all sorts of deals. The idea that for a lot of folks, especially a lot of the black athletes, but it happens to everybody, a lot of them are, this was their way out. So now all of a sudden, that whole community that helped lift you up to get to this place, they're all looking for handouts and that whole idea of trying to tear you down and everything else.
Starting point is 01:26:11 Go watch Broke. It is a fantastic documentary. It's pretty old. You will both lose some sympathy when you hear some of the stupid decisions they make, but you'll also gain a lot and go, holy shit, I didn't think about this, that, and the third. So that would be the last thing I'll say on that. I would love to have a longer conversation,
Starting point is 01:26:25 but I know that's not what this show is about. So we'll keep it at Dale. Yoshimitsu, Amy's hate crush on Dr. Strange is one of the best running bits in two filthy cash walls. Oh my gosh. I'm going to screenshot this for her right now. She's going to be so excited. It is such a good bit.
Starting point is 01:26:43 All of, okay, all of Amy's jokes are so freaking fire. She's so funny, you guys. And if you have not subscribed to the podcast, if you're like, Chris Carr, she's not for me. Can you please listen for Amy Newman? Because she's so freaking ridiculous. She's great stand-up. She's part of an improv team here called Pleather.
Starting point is 01:27:00 So if you live in L.A., you can go catch her, do live comedy. I just, I want to champion her. She's great. Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. I've become a big fan of two filthy casuals at this point, man. So I love, I love listening to y'all show.
Starting point is 01:27:17 Real quick, but this is another point of what I'm talking about. Baker Mayfield's brother, a bro and pops took 12 mil from it. That's the thing. Again, just looking at the number of random family members that will screw you. Because, like, hell, people were, it's a little different, and there's conversation we had about it, but think about, like, the Dane Cook situation where his brother was his manager, and he thought he could trust him, and his brother literally ran off with all of his money.
Starting point is 01:27:41 So many different things can potentially happen. But anyway, go pal, still coming in. Says Sam Hartman makes a million dollars. They didn't trust him enough to let him see the field when Daniels and Mariotta were both hurt last year. They signed some man I've never heard of off the street so they wouldn't have to let Hartman be second string, Week 17 and 18 last year.
Starting point is 01:27:57 Damn, that is. Talk about people saying, nah, you're just here for show and nothing else. Jesus. I would love to make, what was that, a million dollars to never see? see the field, that'd be great, man. No CT for me. Monkei first, 67 Jules to give us a...
Starting point is 01:28:15 67. Thank you so much. Ron H. We all want more Winston and Chris old clips. Yeah? Okay. I'm down. I'll do the same thing here. If we win this, if we, if either day, if we win either day, obviously that day's in the books now. If we win somehow Chris and I, that ridiculous commercial I was telling y'all about last week that we didn't we like pld found me dancing in but if you want to see my very first uh i guess this would be post college because i did do some professional stuff before you but my very first commercial um who boy it was something chris it was something um so we got
Starting point is 01:28:58 that for you jewels jules hiding thank you uh ioshi more jewels g l h a good luck have fun thank you appreciate that dark Smirk, Nightcrawler and Gore rumored for next rival characters afterwards might be doomed to connect to Doomsday. Chris for Marvel rivals Nebula, Polaris and Walth. Yeah, let's help you voice though for sure. Yes, please. I would love that. Yeah, I would be totally here for that.
Starting point is 01:29:29 Dark Smirk, Caval rumored in the MCU, who do you think you'd be? I mean, look, man, I could see him as Magneto. I'll be honest with you. That's her supposedly, I keep seeing. this pop up and I don't know if it's like a fan thing or if it's actual like there's smoke to this fire kind of thing right of he Matt Smith and Lee Pace are supposedly in the running for Magneto of those of those. But I thought for the longest time he was holding out for Captain Britain. He could. I wouldn't I wouldn't hate that. I just Captain Britain is it's pretty inside
Starting point is 01:30:00 you know what I'm saying and like it's not to say that we as comic fans wouldn't love it but I'm just thinking in terms of like he has the kind of star power that you would potentially attach him to a larger role personally captain britain's not going to be front and center really for anything he's too again we know him that's so d-list to be honest with you yeah i don't know anyway um mike joyce treat with some jewels thank you mike if she meant to i love 12th night It was the first Shakespeare I ever saw. Nice. I bet Winston is killing it as Malvolio
Starting point is 01:30:38 and I hope the show goes great. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. If that's the case, then you know what I was talking about with some interesting costume choices, Yoshimitsu. If you remember what Malvolio goes through
Starting point is 01:30:48 in the middle of the show. Who boy. Yeah, it's a lot, man. Give me varicose veins. I'll tell you that much. Mike Joyce coming in with some more jewels, a clutch. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:30:59 And a treat. Again, thank you, Mike. And a high five from the foul. Yankee, thank you. Ron H. Luke, POD, nugged up later egos or who? Um, um, um, um, uh, I, uh,
Starting point is 01:31:18 go pal. Anthony Star and Banschey is a whole different thing. Okay, I haven't seen. Okay, I have to check that out. Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure, for sure. Joy Pedros, what would be your dream game to act slash voice in? bro, give me, I would actually love to be a voice character in Halo.
Starting point is 01:31:49 I honestly think that would be a lot of fun to do that to be one of the Marines. Like you could never replace the sergeant, the voice of the sergeant's like, but like all those random voice lines that they'd be having, be in like, I feel like that would just be amazing. They'd be talking so much shit. I'd love to be in those, but in like a Cortana kind of situation. because I already voiced a lot of like AI characters. But man, Final Fantasy.
Starting point is 01:32:15 Final Fantasy is another one. I'd lose my mind to be in anything. I am, y'all know, I am on that triple A quest. I am trying so hard. I'm so lucky that I get to do the games I do and be an NPC, but ooh, I want a triple. I bet you'd want Kingdom Heart to even more. Oh my gosh, I'd lose my mind.
Starting point is 01:32:33 Luke, the number of times, the number of times I have auditioned now to be a Disney sounder. to like is staggering. And they are such hard auditions, you guys, because it's super, super technical of voice matching somebody for nine lines and then doing new lines as that character and then often singing as that character. I usually am a very big set it and forget it auditioner. Those are the ones that I'm like,
Starting point is 01:32:57 I will spend this whole week focusing on this audition. Fair. Keep me your thoughts and prayers. Hey, Mike Joyce, from your from your lips to guys, his ears, man. Oh, I know what the ladies like. Yeah, no, I just, back in the day, we just, we didn't have no tanks.
Starting point is 01:33:15 We had a rock and a stick. When you threw the rock, all you had left was a stick. Like, just, dude, I would absolutely be Sergeant Johnson, but I also know that that is a very legendary voiceover job. Go pal. Everything about Homelander is colored by the stupidity and weakness that are at the core elements of his character, which is hard to transfer to X-Men.
Starting point is 01:33:35 It's true. That is very true. But again, I would want to see Banshee as, I don't know if he, you mentioned it. Yeah. So I would be very curious to see. Ron H. Nugged up alter ego for Winston. Winnie to the Paranoid or Del Sleepio.
Starting point is 01:33:48 Talk to you, boy. So I used to be a part of a rap trio back at the end of college called the Holy Trinity. It was my boy, Lucas Kang, rest in peace to him. He passed a few years ago very suddenly. But he was, he was the guy up. hi. Then our homeboy Corey Lebo, he's Jewish, so he was, he was
Starting point is 01:34:13 what, Corey the Jew, is what he named himself as the Jesus figure. And then I, as the Holy Spirit, was Winston the Ghostbuster. And the funny thing is, is most of the time when we would rap, we would end up all stone doing that. So that tends to be my
Starting point is 01:34:29 persona is Winston the Ghostbuster. Just out of curiosity, what was the name of that trio? The Holy Trinity. The Holy Trinity, okay. You're not going to find it. It's not on the internet. All the tapes are on hard drives in my house.
Starting point is 01:34:44 So unless I, if you find it, I'm going to tell you this much. I know you broke into my house, POD, and we're going to have some motherfucking words, all right? I was going to say, I don't. I think he can. I think he already is like, I found them. He was like so glad I put a Trojan horse on your computer. It's hard to find my shit because I'm cut from everything. Look, it's one of those things that I don't ever need those raps to make it out alive.
Starting point is 01:35:18 I'll tell you this much. If I, if I, from this month to the end of the year, if I win one bonus through the end of the year each month, I will, I will go and pull one of our songs. but other than that, they will never see the light of day. They need to stay dead and buried, all right? Like, let the dead rest in peace, God damn it. The only thing I can think of that's like hard to find of mine that I think would be weird is I did a Katz's Deli commercial as like my first commercial ever. I got paid in matzabal soup.
Starting point is 01:35:52 I'm not even joking. And I think I'm all of 110 pounds in it. I'm a skeleton. It's like a scarecrow is wearing my. my face is a mask. Because I'm like 20 years old and I'm just like, I'm eating a real bit. Ha-uh. Yeah, that's fair.
Starting point is 01:36:12 I kind of want to see that though. My friends kept it as their screensaver for like 10 years of just me being like. That's amazing. That's absolutely amazing. Trey Porter coming in and to say, I just wanted to say, happy birthday to Hayden Penitieri. She would have been 37 a day, very sad and unfortunate. Yeah, happy birthday to her indeed. And the other thing is, I think what her death is is another just reminder of this idea of keeping a lookout for those of us around us that are clearly in need of help.
Starting point is 01:36:47 Like, she had had problems and had talked about it, but her memoir had just dropped a couple months back. She did that interview with Jay Shetty, and she told some of these dark stories of the things that happened to her when she was young in Hollywood. would. Just let's just, I would hope, do a better job as a community to look out for those of us around us that clearly need support, because that's really what it sounds like she was asking for for a long time. And unfortunately, you know, it's a little too late now. It's heartbreaking to go back to and see how many, like, brands and companies turned on her when she was so honest about dealing with postpartum and dealing with, you know, substance abuse and all these other things.
Starting point is 01:37:30 And it just really goes out to show you that, you know, everyone's fighting something. But man, when people tell you, they need that support system. I mean, everyone does. But we had so many people in, you know, the midsection of her career just completely abandoned her because it was the hard thing to do was to stand by her. And that sucks. I agree. And you know what was so interesting is, I believe one of the brands with Neutrogena
Starting point is 01:37:56 that she used to work with. and they dropped her after the postpartum admission and all that. What doesn't make any sense to me, that is such a PR layup because Neutrogena primarily the base is women. How many women go through postpartum? And that could have been an easy story of literally partnering with that and working with that that could have been such good PR and would have brought all that stuff in it instead.
Starting point is 01:38:23 And now that we looking at this and where she ended up at this particular point, they just look heartless. You know what I'm saying? Like, again, I get it. There is, I can look at it and like HR's like, I don't know, like PR and HR. I don't know, man. Like that's a lot like whatever, whatever. But especially the postpartum, if you want to say the drug thing, we really can't find.
Starting point is 01:38:43 I can understand that from a brand. But because it came after the postpartum admission. Yeah. That's so weird to me to not. Oh, people are dragging Nutrigena on socials right now. The comment sections are wild. It's like you go backposts and people doing a, hey, remember when you did this? Damn.
Starting point is 01:39:01 Do you remember? Because we do. Damn. Yeah. Shit. Get them. Get them. Eclipse 77.
Starting point is 01:39:10 Jason David Frank's White Dragon Power Ranger movie comes out next week. Anyone else excited? I definitely am. I'm not going to lie. Naming it like that is not. It just kind of, there were. other ways to do that. Like,
Starting point is 01:39:30 like, the white dragon power range just sounds very, at least it's not the Grand Dragon White Power Ranger. Anyway, so, no, but I am excited. I love Jason David Frank.
Starting point is 01:39:44 Rest in peace. And that's another example of somebody needing help. They're just reaching out to both sides of the aisle, Winston. He really is my inner thoughts. Jesus Christ. Go, pal.
Starting point is 01:39:58 My concern with live action thunder. is the abomination that was the live-action cat's adaptation that I haven't actually seen. I mean, that's a good point. Just the pussy I've been looking for. Right? Yeah, yeah. Your spotlight, oh, yeah. That's a good point.
Starting point is 01:40:24 It's funny because it works two ways. So hold on. Let me see. I got to see if I can anchor. because I have a pretty good, like, evil villain laugh. Oh. Ooh. Okay.
Starting point is 01:40:55 Good job, no, no, no, no, no, no. I laugh, you stand there. Mm-hmm. That makes sense. Yeah. This is why we need to unionize. Yeah, they got to cast us, man, because if somebody says, I love this duo.
Starting point is 01:41:10 Dynamic, you might say. You damn right. You damn right. Incredible. Thank you. Five jewels. And another five jewels from Michael Fee Pro. Thank you, Michael.
Starting point is 01:41:21 We appreciate it. Yoshimitsu, yeah, Kristen, Winston are the best. Thank you, guys. Thank you, thank you. Dark Smirk, Winston. Rival's voice, would you do? War Machine, Bishop? Ooh, I would love to do Bishop.
Starting point is 01:41:32 That would be fun. Why you got to be black, huh? Why can I, I could be, uh, I could be banshee. Yo! No, I don't want to actually. How's your Irish? Jamaican. I mean, honestly.
Starting point is 01:41:53 I wish y'all see PLD when I first said if you just, it's actually funny. I was originally going to do Malvolio as Jamaican, but it kept going back and forth between Jamaican and Irish because just Shakespearean language can do that. And so unfortunately, I was like, I have to drop this because the last thing I need is like, my master's, are you mad?
Starting point is 01:42:18 Like I just kind of start to, don't you know? Like, I just, it was, it got real messy there for a minute. So we stuck with kind of a standard. But yeah. But yeah, no, no, no. honestly, a bishop actually would be pretty cool. I would love to do that. Jared L.T. 78, if you had to choose,
Starting point is 01:42:37 eating your most dislike food for a week, only be able to watch the live action Dragon Ball evolutionary movie for the week. You just hate me, don't you? That is, does the Jared, does the L and Jared, Jared L.T. Sanferletto? Like, what the fuck? Why are you torturing me right now? You just sent me a dead.
Starting point is 01:43:01 They said dislike, not hate. So that means you can just go for that. It's fine. So I'm not watching Dragon. I mean, that's fair. That's very true. I'm going to shock all of you. There's very little food I dislike.
Starting point is 01:43:16 So I'm Gucci on this one. Oh, no, I have to eat corn that I'm like, oh, that's not my favorite. I was dying laughing because that was the most big back answer I've heard in a long time to be like, it's going to be a shocker. I'll dislike a lot of food. You know what I'm saying? I'll pretty much eat anything. Your girl, she's an eater. Okay?
Starting point is 01:43:47 Cock? Yep, you're just going to move on because I can say so many things. I guess I would go with the... And she's happily married. There you go. That's, hey, look. And you blow it!
Starting point is 01:43:59 They do say... Way to repurpose that. I'm going to drop my joke entirely. I'll take the... I'll take honestly. this is horrible. I'll take Dragon Ball Evolution only because I'm only able to watch. It doesn't say that I have to. I have to eat in order to survive. And if you're just giving me a whole bunch of olives and anchovies, I'm probably going to punch
Starting point is 01:44:26 something. So I'll take Dragon Ball Evolution and the TV will stay off. I'll get real good at meditating and, you know, play a lot of magic the gathering. I don't know. That's just girl dinner. I'd be thrilled. Ew. But that girl dinner? That girl dinner? I'm Italian, dude. We're disgusting. Tinned fish and olives. That's a meal, baby.
Starting point is 01:44:46 That's disgusting. That's our culture, Winston. How dare you? You disgust me. Go on. And your culture smells like rank farts. Get out of here. Brendan 402, and I know something about that today.
Starting point is 01:45:00 Are you both excited for a coyote versus Agby? It looks like a fun watch. The background on how they got the movie out the door is crazy. I don't know what the finer points at the end of it. I just remember when they did the tag. write off on it and they weren't going to let it to the light of day. So I'm curious how they were able to reverse that. Do you know anything more about how we got here?
Starting point is 01:45:18 They ended up selling it. They had a like they basically kind of did an open house, if you will. I'm like, hey, come on in. See if you like it. See if this is for you. Ketchup Entertainment is who ended up ultimately buying this and distributing it. I'm thrilled about this because everyone who did see it said it was so good. If you've read the original New Yorker article that it's based on, hilarious.
Starting point is 01:45:38 super, super fun. I keep hearing from people that this is the best like animation, live action crossover or hybrid, I suppose, is the better way to describe it that has been out there. And as a diehard Roger Rabbit fan,
Starting point is 01:45:51 I am so stoked about this. Yeah. Well, then I can't wait. It looks really good. It looks really good. So I can't wait. But I also forgot about this. During the S-E-N days,
Starting point is 01:46:03 I used to do Jamaican Thor. Tor de God of Thunder. This is a mural near to me. This damn loki son bitch is out here trying to ruin my day with Jane Foster. I thought I was going to get some boom, boom, and he out of here just trying to trick me and shit. Oh, man, I forgot about that. Those were good times. Those were indeed good times.
Starting point is 01:46:25 Rod H. No way Batista stops exercising completely. I'm sure he looks awesome. He's got a little Filipino genes in his DNA, I think. And all head is, uh, all head to say is boy. Boy. boy no I'm sure
Starting point is 01:46:43 I'm sure he's he's always working out he just said he didn't want to be at wrestler ridiculous jacked stage anymore that was more what it was and to be Cretos who is jacked as shit he's gonna kind of have to go back to that so I don't know
Starting point is 01:46:56 anyway Gunna Patricea made an abyss live action was reported in 2021 I did not know that I did not know that at all did that come out I don't know.
Starting point is 01:47:11 Ron H. I want Ray and Amy cameos on the Christian Harlock show. We can try to make a thing with Amy. She would just need to, you know, be compensated and everything. And Ray, you guys, I think he's done being on camera. That was always something for him that he just kind of did. He's just one of those naturally funny people. And unfortunately, the internet was not always kind, which is so annoying because he's so freaking funny.
Starting point is 01:47:36 And his whole point on the show was to be, you know, the every man and to be the person who's like, I'm not steeped in movie news. I'm not steeped in comic book culture for the most part. I'm here to tell you what an average moviegoer would say. And to do graphics. But he's the best. Give Rayora, chef pleasures, all that love. Love that. Love that indeed.
Starting point is 01:47:56 Eclipse 77 is the endgame re-release one night only. If so, don't count on an out-earning avatar. I honestly don't know. It's not. It's going to be a normal release from what I say. I would assume Yeah, I would assume so that it would be more than one night Just because if you're trying to get people to go
Starting point is 01:48:11 That one, let's keep it a buck They're not doing it because we really want you to see these scenes They're doing it because they want to retake the crown As the number one movie And then at the end of the day, Disney owns both Avatar and Avengers They're going to do this at infinum So they can just keep getting themselves paid Like let's keep it up and say they own the, you know, that record.
Starting point is 01:48:32 So Joy Peders sends in 10 jewels of a happy poop. Yeah, hopefully I can do that and stop all this farting. The G-Man 8119. Lanterns Trolls lose again. Take that. Oh.
Starting point is 01:48:47 There's something just right on your forehead. Put it on your forehead. Just like these nuts. Ha! Got him! Robtastic, 98, 99. Did y'all see the Kingdom Hearts 4 Coco trailer at D23? If so, what did y'all think?
Starting point is 01:49:06 Kingdom Hearts Coco? Oh, Cocoa in Kingdom Hearts. Yeah, they did this really great almost bait and switch where it was, hey, and we're going to finally have a Coco video game, which was a, okay, I mean, cool, interesting choice. And you see this beautiful footage. And then all of a sudden the heartless rise up and I screamed. I got so excited. I did not see it.
Starting point is 01:49:25 But you were at D23 directly, so you got to see it in person, huh? It was fantastic. Oh, amazing. I'm going to sink so much time into that new game. Oh, I cannot wait. It's going to be so good. Yeah, when is it supposed to drop? Oh, that was...
Starting point is 01:49:41 In the next year, I think. Yeah. Yeah, okay. Okay, well, hopefully they don't do the Kingdom Hearts 3 delay like they did and this one and actually released this sucker on time. Because we waited for Kingdom Hearts 3 for like a decade and some change. I'm still on the lore. Just saying I don't understand Kingdom Hearts lore, even though I love the game so much.
Starting point is 01:49:59 It gets really confusing. It gets really confusing. The first game was great. And I can't. Yeah, the second game was also great as far as that, but the mini you started doing. doing all the remixes and the 2.25s and all that kind of stuff and the unchanged, it just got too much. It got way too much.
Starting point is 01:50:14 Mike Joyce, have you two seen the Batman two behind the scenes footage? Cool stuff. My motherfucking Batman! That's never not funny, man. It's so good. Yeah. Have you seen the behind the scenes footage of the Batman too?
Starting point is 01:50:32 No, have you? I have not either. This sounds like something I need to look up. Mike, we'll have to check it out, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yoshimitsu, I'm currently playing cyberpunk 27 for the first time and Chris would be awesome
Starting point is 01:50:43 as the main character in that game. Thank you so much, Yoshimitsu. I appreciate that. You'll need to be my agent. Gosh, I'm shopping for a new voiceover agent and I'm going to just like refer to these super chats and go, look at what the people say. The people have been saying it.
Starting point is 01:50:58 Why aren't you saying it? You should say it more often. It's essentially, you know. I'm insufferable in an agent meeting. Are you? Because I fully am just like, yeah, I'd really love for us to work together. And I just come, I'm a very confident person. And sometimes that rubs people the wrong way.
Starting point is 01:51:14 Because I will approach things too with kind of a, no, I'm good at my job. Like a tree is a tree. I just am. Like, hire your ass on a spot on some shit like that, man. That's how you're supposed to come in that muffled. Yeah. Oh, there he is. There's my guy.
Starting point is 01:51:32 That should be the response. Absolutely. Ron age 70s. Ronnie is coming back, super chatting while driving. Ronnie Tech is crazy. Please be careful. Please be careful. But thank you.
Starting point is 01:51:45 I'm not going to say no, but please be careful. The G-Man 8119, Michael Keaton in 1993, much ado rules. He does. Michael Keaton and that is great. He's great. We talked about Keanu previously. Denzel. Denzel is awesome.
Starting point is 01:52:00 No, it's a really, really good adaptation, in my opinion. Plus the opening, the men writing in And then all of a sudden, oh, the soldiers are coming. It's just just titties running around. Ha! Put your dress on. Look at these knockers. You were going to play the titty shake one.
Starting point is 01:52:18 I figured that was where you were going with that one. A titty shake from the ladies? Exactly. That's literally what it is to open the movie. It's just, oh, the man, oh, my Jesus. The men are coming. My titties. A titty shake from the ladies.
Starting point is 01:52:34 Oh, man. Johnny, I think this is the next one. You can see the light go off in PLD's head. I'm just a new instance head now looking for passwords. All up on the dark web. I love Slippers 43. Was Motsaball soup good? I've never had it.
Starting point is 01:52:56 I like Monsabal soup. Oh my gosh. Jewish penicillin. Yes, it's delicious. If you get it with a Motsabal and if you get it with a creploc, oh. Oh, so good. that with that low one does 91 with 800 jewels talking about turn it up turn it up yep yep um AP 0788 did you guys discuss lanterns yet we did we did American grown with Haitian roots okay come
Starting point is 01:53:21 come on come on titi shake for the Haitians let's go um but yeah no we did discuss lanterns earlier um so early in the show so hop on back and check that out uh Mitch max 77 looking for de conan from uh Genedy Any hope Greg Baldwin will emulate Mako for narration? Hmm. I don't know. I don't know much about the Conan adaptation. There's a new one coming, right?
Starting point is 01:53:50 Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Sorry about that. Aoshi, 10 Jules with some happy poops, two of those. And then Mike Jewel also sending a happy poop. Y'all really care about my bowels. I appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:54:02 Thank you. You know. Sweet. Yeah, yeah. Speaking of Jamaican, have you seen Anansimon? I have not. No. I'm assuming that like, because I know that there is the, there's a great episode of
Starting point is 01:54:18 Static Shock talking about Anansi, like the essentially like an African kind of Spider-Man Tale and like, teaming up with them. I want, I'm assuming that that might be something similar for, for this Jamaican thing. So I'm curious, but no, I have not seen it. Let me, let me, another thing to write down. Hold on. Yeah. Anoncymon.
Starting point is 01:54:43 Let's see. Oh. Okay, this is kind of fire. I don't know if this is like a real. Oh, there is a comic, but this is. Okay, hold on. Here, let me screen share this for a second because this is kind of fire. At least this is what I found on, on Instagram.
Starting point is 01:55:02 Anansi man, quick, save me. This boy go crush me. Save who? Help yourself in your post. I'm going first and put out my money you borrow. You can get it tomorrow. Yeah, you better pay up. You look me in the face five months ago and say,
Starting point is 01:55:17 me I give you a tomorrow. Me nonsid you since. Pay me my cash before me turn this spider cents off and go buy a party. Sell out on the beef, fresh from the roadside. I guess he ultimately ended up saving her. All right. There you go. Anoniman.
Starting point is 01:55:36 Fantastic. Yeah. Trying to read that quickly is hard. I could eventually do, but do quickly is hard for sure. Go pal, they named Peacemakers Nat, Social Dad, White Dragon. That's true. Oh, that's true. That is true.
Starting point is 01:55:52 That is very, very true. Ron H. thought bubbles. Jamaican accents. This episode has got to be an instant classic this episode. And you know it, man. This is so cool. I, you're dumb right. Wait, okay.
Starting point is 01:56:08 Okay, next one of you that comes in is my thought bubble. You have to do a Jamaican accent, by the way. No, no, no, no, no, no. Well, they will if they say certain words. Just don't say a cancelable word. We don't know. We ain't never used this before. No, this is not a symbol that you use.
Starting point is 01:56:25 You're making up random sheet. You can just do the trick of saying beer can when you're trying to say bacon. Exactly. Just literally, look, you can do that. PODD, just come in real quick and just say beer can. Beer can. go pal who am i kidding i drink turpentine turpentine oh i forgot about that simpson's reference that is that is an old one um gx paula chase infinity for black cat i would i would i would
Starting point is 01:57:02 have with that that be fun yeah i would have with that indeed uh Mitch mac 77 by the way guys ref yesterday i suspect brie will not be returning post secret wars probably not I wouldn't be surprised if she's like, I don't want to do this anymore. Based off of reception and everything else, I could see her being like, I got other things I can do. So we will see.
Starting point is 01:57:27 We will see. Joy Pedras, we need you in the Remedyverse games, Chris. I don't think I know those. I'm not familiar with those. I'm not familiar either. Hmm. Let us know.
Starting point is 01:57:40 Let us know. I'll Google them. Ron H. We'll take Amy for sure. Christian Holloff can use some of Winston's crack budget. Please let Ray know, we line and miss that icon. We lied and we miss that icon of Kunis. Ron H.
Starting point is 01:58:00 Necromance of series looking pretty cool. I don't think I know that either. Is that another? Or Neuromancer. Excuse me. Neuromancer. I said necro. I meant neuro.
Starting point is 01:58:11 I am also not familiar with that. I would love to see whatever this is, it looks cool. So I'm down. GX-Pala. I think Peter already met and dated Felicia before brand-new day. Oh, interesting. Oh. I wonder about that because we didn't really get any reference,
Starting point is 01:58:28 but I genuinely wonder. We got three left. Keep sending them in if you want to support GX-Pala. MCUPD has a type that isn't white blonde Gwen. Hmm. No, no, no, no, no. I mean, look, please tell me you've seen the video of, them talking about Tom and Zendaya.
Starting point is 01:58:48 And like you could clearly see he is already from the minute they started doing, he is clearly like locked in on Zendaya. And what's her name that plays Liz? It seems like she genuinely has a crush on him. He's like, that's cool. But you know. Like he is locked in. And then when Zendaya finally does to see her in reverse just,
Starting point is 01:59:15 it's so cute. It's really, really, really cute. They're adorable. They are goals, man. Go pal. Snow is the whitest and folks are cool with it. I don't, that was probably connected to something that I'm missing. Okay.
Starting point is 01:59:30 Yes, yes, yes. Ron H. Where is my Samurai Jack Live adaptation? Ooh, that's a good question. That would be a good one. That would definitely be a good one for sure. Go pal. Informer mumble, mumble, lucky boom, boom down.
Starting point is 01:59:49 That would be the rapper Snow, who had the song, Informer. Informa. B, B, B, B, B, Bamb, Bada. Bada. Bola. Bola. Okay, thank you. Thank you. Wow. Yo, way to speak, go, pal, P-L-D. That was impressive. That was great. See, what you meant to say, he meant to say, no, clearly he's talking about the reggae,
Starting point is 02:00:14 talking about Bum-a-Bloat, boom-a-clad, boom-a-claude, boom-a-lott, boom-a-lac-bun-a-bun-down. Like, you should have come in, like, and hit your accent and do the whole thing, man. I'm so scared. I don't even want to do white-man in Jamaica. point, so. Yeah. You don't want to be Chet, Hanks? Nope.
Starting point is 02:00:33 Fair. Totally fair. Joey Pedgerus. Sorry. Remedy versus Allen Wake control. Oh. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 02:00:40 I didn't realize control and Alan Wake were connected. Yeah. Supernatural speakees? Well, I bought control. I still haven't played it. I did not know they were connected, but I think about the box art on control. And that actually makes a lot of sense. Thank you, Joey, for explaining that.
Starting point is 02:00:56 Thank you very much. I appreciate that. making life a lot easier for us. Yoshimitsu, I watched Mucha Do Again with the girlfriend last night after the chat on the show. We learned that she also first saw all those actors in that movie. Oh, that's so cool. That is really cool, man. I love that.
Starting point is 02:01:09 That is really, really cool. And the last one for now, Mitch Mack, I personally think Gunn, needs to do Justice League International, funniest comic, and he already introduced most of the team. That's fair. I just really like Justice League Unlimited, and I really hope they're moving towards that direction personally. But I, but I, but I mad respect what you're talking about as far as that goes. That was 90. That was 90 so far. So we got more actual number and based off of some of the bigger ones that came in, we may have also gone up in the monetary value, which is actually how we win.
Starting point is 02:01:41 But if you want to send some last ones in as we close this show out and really try and help us potentially cement this, we would appreciate it. But Chris, let the people know where they can find you and what you got going on. Oh, man. If anyone does send in some extra stuff, I am going to have to boogie because I'm teaching somebody in five minutes. But you can find me at speakfrontsidio.com. Starting point is 02:03:07 Hell yeah. What about you, PLD? Oh, you can go to PLD projects. I've been on the hiatus for like a year with everything going on. But I'm going to go back soon. So, stay tuned. I love it. I love it. I love it. Let's see. So that's going to be everybody. and that's going to be me saying thank you so much to everybody. That's watched the show today. That was here rocking with Chris and I the last two days. And that was supporting the channel all the way through Christian's absence.

Starting point is 02:04:12 be sure to do that. Check out the Schmodan vote. Nobody told me what the matches were supposed to be. But go and check that out over there. Christian's got his UFOs. I can remember what they're called nowadays, but that whole his, you know, alien. Down Earth. Thank you.
Starting point is 02:04:28 Down to Earth with Christian Harloff. Check that out as well. We had one more come in. Ron H. Neuromancer, part of the cyberpunk universe. Think Johnny Neumannick, Snow, rapper is a Canadian, I believe. That I did know. But I didn't understand what we were referencing previously, but now I get it. So we're there. But yeah, those are all the things that are going on.
Starting point is 02:04:48 Have a safe, lovely, entertaining, fun weekend. Y'all go and see a movie, go hug your loved ones, drink some water, take a nap, hug a dog. Also, Yoshimitsu saying, careful with those cross-guarders, Winston, you already know what it is, Yon Shih Mitsu. We're going to get out of here. Thank you for watching, capes and cows.
