everybody it's the big thing thanks for joining us here today spider man too man that game it is selling
off the racks pre-order all that people are losing their minds ready for this game is it going to be
one of the biggest games of all time we're going to find out deadpool three everybody's excited about
that movie well when's that movie coming out we don't know looks like the release take could be in
jeopardy once again because this strike when's it going to end is it going to be this year next year
is it going to affect deadpool three seems like it so we'll discuss that people love the last
Airbender TV show. The Shamelon movie, not so much, but there's a new Netflix series. There's
some new pictures, and we're going to talk about that for sure. We got a lot to talk about today.
Speaking of Star Wars, not a lot of Star Wars news in general. Normally when we do the Sith
Council thing, we could have done a full episode on it, but there's really not a lot to talk about
in the world of Star Wars. Hence, we're doing a big thing episode with one Star Wars story, and that's
that friend of the show, Mark Bernardin, is doing a Mace Windu comic book. It was announced
at New York Comic-Con last week.
So we'll discuss that and more on today's show
with myself and Mike Kalanowski.
That's right.
Mike Kalanowski is back.
He'll tell us why he hated Asoka and we'll get into it.
Let's get to the big thing with me and Mike.
Now, if you haven't already done that, we're almost over.
Guys, we just hit 96,000.
We're 4,000 away.
All you got to do is hit that button.
All right.
Show a little.
Here we go.
Big thing.
Me and Mike.
What up, everybody?
Welcome back.
Apple Podcasts, Spotify.
If you haven't done it already, please do it.
It helps out the show.
And it's a good listen.
You're driving down the road.
Where are you going?
Even driving five seconds down the road.
It's me.
Mike Kownaowski.
Oh, good.
Right into it.
Perfect there.
That's perfect.
Good.
My tits are hanging out there too.
Jesus.
She should go on Instagram.
It's nice to have you.
We're doing the big thing today?
Yeah.
That's it.
But, okay.
Did you hear me even hear my intro, did you?
I did.
I sat here and listened to the whole thing.
It's a Wednesday, and we always do sit on Wednesday.
I know.
But we don't have enough to cover.
It's nothing to cover.
I know.
So we're transitioning into this, and I feel special now that I'm on the big thing.
You should.
It's good to have you on here.
We'll talk about, I want to get your thoughts on the finale.
Well, you said it right there, didn't you?
Did you hate it?
No, but that was your thing.
And everyone thinks I hate it.
Come on, give me a break.
It was fine.
You can curse on this show?
On this one.
It was fine.
I spent a day.
being wrecked over the coals for my thoughts on Star Wars and I just didn't know shit anymore yeah
that's fine um I got a story that I want to tell you before can I finish my so good thing
oh yeah sure go ahead yeah what did you think of it well if you want the finale I'm I'm I'm
recorded on you can go back and watch okay yeah I got homework to do yeah you can go you can watch
it's a show for the fans actually didn't like the finale it's a show for the fans of rebels and clone
agreed and like we'd said my thing was I'm not going to watch those like I was talking to buddy
on the other day I don't even think they ever explained why Thron and Ezra were stuck there on that
planet not really to the general audience not not not to the extent where you would go oh that makes
yeah and again there was no hugging at the end I was like what the and how they led a stormtrooper on
that did you see my yes did you see my short on that yeah and then everyone's like it's such an
Ezra thing to do well that someone I got I got a very frustrating comment like that as well too
some some I don't know if it's a subscriber or somebody or might just been someone random
found it it was so stupid tell me you you haven't watched rebels without
telling me you haven't watched rebels and I said no that's my point that is an
animated moment that could work fine in animation in live action it didn't
work for me but people people people dug it I didn't like the finale really
enjoyed the series really enjoyed the series you and but I don't disagree with you
yeah that in the first two episodes I was like oh this is gonna be something
that everybody will be able to get right away right one of the biggest
concerns with a lot of people that didn't like it was it was over their head and it seemed like
very rebels um i enjoyed the series i did i think that it's got an opportunity to do more but i don't
it's funny because the more and more i i and people who been watching me for years was always like i think
phelone should be the guy i think feloni should be the one who's uh who's in charge of the
creative i think felonish should be doing the stuff that he does i don't i think that phelonies too
wrapped up in his own universe that because you know yeah
It's funny you said that because I, for the longest time with Batman,
have always been like many people.
Just get Bruce Tim and the guys did the animated series to do a movie.
And there's that hesitance from the studio to ever even bring them into the room to talk about it or to direct.
There was that shot of the three of them with their lightsabers just sitting there standing.
And it was like, and it was just the three of them just standing like this.
And I'm just like, there was no movement.
Now, in animation, that probably looks great.
But in live action, you've got to move that camera.
There are a couple things inside of the finale.
Yeah.
the episode before, the whole episode,
nah, nah, nah,
I don't need that lightsaber anymore.
I'm a Jedi, but I don't need the lightsaber.
The very next time we see Ezra,
do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do building my lightsaber
because I need a lightsaber now.
But that was my biggest concern,
my biggest criticism with the show was there were good moments throughout it
that were written poorly, right?
Like, so that, that conversation of when he's using the force,
whatever it is.
Yeah, fine, cool.
But he says, I gave that to you.
And whatever it might be, like, I can't, I just, he tries to use it.
He can't get a hold of if she's using it.
Or whatever it might be.
And he says to her, you know, along those, that's your saber now.
I got this.
And he builds his own saber and he goes, okay, I wanted to, I guess I did need it.
I want to build my own stuff.
I couldn't build it.
And there was a reason why I couldn't build it.
He didn't have all the stuff.
That was fun.
Okay.
The thing, the little simple things, like for the whole, this is what I said on the finale with Janish,
was that the whole.
series is about Sabine trying to connect to the force and we both knew she was
going to eventually I actually liked the way she connected to it I like that
yeah but what I didn't like in same moment it's five minutes later and she's like I got
this I'll toss you it should have been reversed and he should have just said I
saw what you did you got this throw me and she's like I just did that fire I
that was like he's like I trust you because the whole show's about trust yeah
because I trust you do it
it and then she closed her out she does it again then you're like okay then they believe in each
other's not just she's she's so confident now it's just doing it's like that we're running into
that that problem that we did with ray it's like don't you don't need to do that yeah and it little
little writing things you know it's just like even even just a bunch of different things but
the first the first seven episodes I really enjoyed I did and then I'm excited to see what
comes next I'm a little hesitant but now just because I know this is all building up to the big
movie I'm like oh right this ship has lift the station and I haven't been on board yet
you're on board I'm kind of hanging off the side one last thing yes so there's
zombie storm troopers you know cool hey we all know that zombies if we're gonna
use zombies the way to kill them is to cut their heads off right and those
three Jedi had head cutting weapons right in their hands but they're gonna run it's a kid
it's also oh this is the thing you talk about those like tell me is whenever I hear
people throw at me the let's not forget it's laser swords and space with words
I know that is such a disrespectful thing to the people that write Star Wars and to the people that watch it and then watch and or and yeah so don't throw that BS at me because
That's a that's talking down to kids like they're just stupid kids that space wizards laser swords. They don't give it
But there's a difference between kid writing and then also
Sherely some of the best in writing in rebels by the way they did show like inquisitor cut somebody's head off and in but they don't necessarily show it
You could still do it's like I'm saying like they weren't threatening yeah
The Batman they made series was written for kids.
It's cartoon, but it's some of the best writing of all time for Batman.
So same with Star Wars.
Yeah, these movies are made with the childlike, but it's sometimes when it's done well, it's incredible.
Yeah.
Anyway, I will move on.
We'll go back into the Star Wars thing in a second, but I am.
What's up?
This morning, I was dropping my, I was dropping.
The kids off with the pool?
Well, not at school.
Oh.
So I dropped my, I dropped my oldest off and then I turned back around my wife was a little late because the youngest is complaining about socks.
So they need to get out in time.
She's like, can you just drop me off?
Can you just drop me off at the front gate?
And I'll run her up to the gate and, you know.
And I was like, yeah, fine.
She'll just walk home because it's not too far.
I was like, okay, great.
So we pull up, and it's a very small street.
So I pull up to the line and it's backed up, like, all the way through.
All the parents are rushing in.
And so I'm on the line.
I'm waiting there.
And so they drop them off.
They go.
So this guy in front of me goes to go up because it's not.
It's like a parking lot.
It's not moving.
So the guy goes to make it left,
and me and the person behind me go to do the same thing.
However, the guy bottlenecks the whole street off now.
And so now there's a woman trying to come from the opposite direction.
Pissed. Just pissed.
And then the dad who's volunteering for the traffic,
it looks at the guy in front, goes, what are you doing?
You're on the phone?
You bottleneck in the hole?
What are you doing?
Screaming out.
And I'm just sitting there going, no, this is amazing.
I'm not.
And I'm just like, whatever.
So then the guy finally gets out of the guy.
front of me takes off so the woman who's coming in wants to yell at him but can't so she so she
starts yelling at me and the windows rolled down and she goes what are you doing what are you
do it what are you do it and she's so mad and I look at her windows down yeah yeah like right
to like to like this and I look at you just like but she meant to do to the guy in front of you
but well yeah because he was the one who caused it but I followed him but I was absolutely like
I would be were you in the wrong I think so okay I think all right I think all
three were being an asshole so no it wasn't an asshole it was just like we were
trying to get out of that lane okay we just we just got bottlenecked and so a
bunch of us went to get off the line and blocked up the thing so she goes what are
you doing what are you doing screaming and like I'm like and I go
you held that I go shh it's okay she gets more man now if you were like if you were
my drinking you were that close like dude this close and and I'm going so I'm going
I go and then she's like well you know you're walking off the wrong and I go it's okay
it's gonna be all right and she goes she looks him she goes why don't you go back and I'm like
whoa where we're going here where do we why don't you go back oh she goes why don't you go back
she goes why don't you go back to Kmart where you got your driver's license
and I go and I go and I go I look at my kind of go like this I go I go I go whoa good one
She goes she goes yeah, yeah and I go how dare you madam
Are you mean while blocking the whole fucking trash? She rolls up the window and leaves and I go like this
I'm so mad at
Can I tell you why I was mad at myself? But Kmart? Listen, I tell you why I was mad at myself because I didn't say to her
Are you telling me that all this time? I could have gone to Kmart to get my driver's license
I was like I saw a guy grab a bag of Snickers walk out and they go yeah, he just does that I could just
walked in I wouldn't have to walk wait on that line at DMV I could have just walked in
took a picture got my driver's license and left but she was she when it was so
Kmart where's a Kmart around here Kmart who Kmart no no she didn't say Kmart
she's the target she's a target oh that's that's that's a different story but it's a
different fucking story then but still Kmart's better Kmart's better she said target what's
you're talking about that's dude that's like she shouldn't even said Walmart she's
going to insult you she should just said that no one she would have been easier for her
just go this you should have never gotten your driver's license if she said that
I'm like oh that's kind of mean but you showed where'd you get your driver's license
target or whatever was and I was like target target oh no go back to where you came from
and go back to where you went and get your your driver's license at target and I was
like but but when I looked at her when I was how old is she old lady just the R
age and I look at her and I go like this but I went but my you should say I
instantly I went whoa good one she was just like this you know
what to say it was hilarious now is that the time now tomorrow you're gonna have like a
one up see if you want a day at the school there's she's gonna be like your mom I don't
daughter's best friends mom I don't think she was a mom at the school I think she was
someone coming from the she had no idea that was going on that it'd be absolutely
hilarious if it was but it was just like but I wasn't mad and I was just like she was going nuts
and I'm like there's no temper on the road because I do no not anymore I do no because it's
you got kids that's why no because it's more fun to do what I did today it is because if you do
if you do you de-escalate it to the point of
of absurdity if you start screaming and yelling yeah like yeah like what I what I do
now when someone starts yelling at me like oh no I go and I wave you better man than
me man I can't I don't have that switch but it gets them more mad of course it
you try of course it does what you're trying to do is you're trying to get them
angry by getting angry at them because you if you did that to me you'd be like this
like you're my fucking face to me yeah right and I one time one to my favorite one that I
did like I don't know like the guy was mad about something I didn't he was in
wrong he was in a room he comes up he pulls up and he goes
you see what you did you went right around me and I went you gave yourself victory
shoulders I give victory shoulders yeah pat on the back I'm a break my
pat myself in my back pat on the back so how do you feel about that I gotta try
that yeah and then I but what's worse because you and me both if we were do
something like that it's that smug whiteness that would just make it even worse
of course like you middle-aged white prick hey listen it's like escalates it
Use what you got.
And I said, hey, I'm not against it.
My favorite thing to do is that when people,
because people hate to use their blinkers.
I use my blinkers.
I always use it.
I always use it.
People hate to use it.
I always, what I do again, I roll, I go up to somebody and I go,
You do that, you engage the conversation.
I said, your blinkers broke.
I said, your blinkers broke.
And one guy goes, is it?
I go, yeah.
I drove away.
So there you go.
There you go.
I said one time I'm going to do it and someone's going to someone's going to go
won't you freak out about galaxy's edgit you know somebody's screaming at me about
I'm going to I'm going to get it I'm going to get it from somebody eventually I'll get that somewhere
so it's like oh why don't you freak out about Harris Harris ears did you no I will though
are you kidding me I would love to hear you kidding me I'm going to get destroyed for that
someday all right speaking about Star Wars uh let's get into let's get into this story about what
Mark Bernard okay all right from our friends over at Star Wars news
net. It wouldn't be a major convention without Lucasfilm publishing crashing the party to share what they have cooking for Star Wars. Across all their publishers, Lucasfilm came guns ablaze with new reveals from phase three of the High Republic Initiative, John Jackson Miller's Living Force, and more. Headlining today's books and comic stump is none other than Marvel. While the ongoing Dark Droids crossover has been taking over the back half of 2023, the scourges and stopped the team from sharing what's coming next year. Among those sadly is a casualty. Ethan Sacks bounty hunters will be wrapping up after January's issue number 42. That means.
there are a lot of issues left on the series, with only the final reserve for the fallout
of dark droids.
After the conclusion of Bounty Hunters, Sacks moves off to right, Star Wars DjangoFet.
Star Wars Com has revealed it's a miniseries and will be coming next March.
Also coming next year is the return of both Thrawn and Mace Windu.
Jody Houser and the creator himself, Timothy Zahn, returned to adapt Zon's Thrawn
alliances for the comic format.
Meanwhile, Mark Bernardin, Will Helm, a new Mace Windu mini-series aptly titled Star Wars Mace
Windu.
help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Phantom Menace.
Both of these particular series will launch in January.
Okay, so there's a few different ones.
Like the only reason, we normally don't really cover the comics and books anymore as much.
And I've told people why, nothing against anybody who's doing all those things.
It's just for the reason I used to cover them, I used to cover them because I was always convinced
that they were going to actually connect into certain things.
But Mark Bernardin, who was a very, a brilliant writer and a great dude and a massive Star Wars fan.
I think he's a great choice for mason doing to see what he's gonna what he's gonna do there
with that particular comic series do you read any comics still from star
not anymore um I just read so many comics it's it's overwhelming you read a lot of them still
or you're more like the DC stuff though you see yeah yeah independent stuff but like Star
Wars like I picked up the they did the Mandalorian they kind of redid the the series and comic
form it's fun okay um so mark Bernardins that's one I might actually check out though too because
I obviously I want to support Mark.
What's going on there?
I can't hear you.
You can't hear?
Oh, would you just push?
No, it's this.
Here we go.
Okay.
It's something to happen with.
Okay.
Sturger did it last week.
It was her fault.
So, yeah, anyway,
Bernardin doing the series itself is intriguing to me.
I really enjoy his writing.
I know how much of a fan he is overall of Star Wars.
So that one I will be checking out to support Mark, obviously,
but I also want to check out where he goes with that one.
So speaking of,
Mike was just talking about Marvel, this game, man, this Spider-Man game.
There's some Dark Horizons and Garth Franklin.
Marvel Spider-Man 2, the game scores rave reviews.
The results are in, and with 120 reviews counted, Insomniac Games Marvel Spider-Man 2
has pulled a stellar 91 out of 100 on Metacritic.
That puts it ahead of its two predecessors with the first Spider-Man scoring in 87,
while the spinoff, Spider-Man Miles Morales, landed at 85.
Remarkably, as of the timing of this writing,
not a single review is listed as negative or mixed
with the lowest visible score for an individual review being an 80.
In terms of 2023, that score puts it in the upper echelon
of new titles of the year behind only.
The Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom, Baldars Gate 3,
Resident Evil 4 remake, Coon, and Street Fighter 6.
It's on par with Diablo 4 and Sea of Stars
and head of Dave the Diver and Dead Space remake,
high-fi rush, Pickman, and Starfield.
Pipman 4.
Pickman. Have you played that?
No, I don't even know what Pickman is.
Well, there you go.
I don't even know what half.
I used to be a massive gamer, and I think I still am.
But then when I see that list of games up there, I'm like, I don't know, even maybe a quarter of those.
All right.
Well, much like God of War Ragnarok last year, the few complaints there are seem to be either about storytelling choices or being a tad too similar to its predecessor.
In the new game, Peter's best friend, Harry Osborne, returns to life.
and Miles looks to build his future beyond high school.
The relationship between our heroes is tested and strained
as the symbiote appears to threaten them,
the city and the ones that they love.
Marvel Spider-Man 2 comes exclusively to PS5 this Friday.
I've heard so much about this game.
Now, I actually, I really enjoy,
I just did this whole, G2A is doing this campaign with this birthday thing.
We just did just to campaign with them the other day.
And I was talking about how, there's a few games
that I'll actually actively look for.
like the Star Wars games for sure and then the first that Spider-Man game I played it and I got everybody was raving about it I played it and I I don't finish anything but I played it and I really enjoyed it but this is one of those ones where I get tempted because I hear everybody kind of raving about it get these reviews you've already pre-ordered it yeah it's already pre-ordered you're excited for it of course how long so you'll finish this and how long do you think well I enjoy my games I don't ever try and rush through them like I will still play the 2018 it's five years ago that game yeah just because it's so much fun to swing around New York City and that
And then I did the Miles Morales.
I play Miles Morales always in the Christmas time because it's winter set and just kind of Christmas-y.
Okay.
The biggest thing I see with this is they're talking about some of the fast travel and how seamless it is.
I'm like, in a game like this with Spider-Man, you don't fast travel.
Like, no, you don't go to point A to point B on the map to just get, no, you're Spider-Man.
The dynamics of the way that they have him swinging is so good.
Like, fast travel is pointless.
Now, you think that one of the reasons that the game obviously is picking up the kind of
of traction that it is because of also the success of beyond the spider verse and all
it's i don't know i think the addition of miles is is a as a big one um because it's it's so
fascinating to see so many like i was beyond marvel comics at the time when miles hit like i
was not in a marvel at the time it was um but it's like green lantern like so many people
love john stewart because they grew up with the animated series and that's their john
Stewart's so many people love Miles because that's what their gateway into Spider-Man.
So me it's Peter Parker.
Okay. But to see them seamlessly transition together, you know, there's such a good duo with
the mentor and the mentee that that whole dynamic is always so good.
And I think this is an absolute guarantee, though, because this game is going to,
obviously, selling its presold already to it's getting great reviews. I think this is just another
absolute guarantee, take it to the bank that Miles Morales will be getting a live
action movie within the next like five years. Easily. Yeah. I think, I think the MCU version will phase out,
out Holland. Not in a bad way, just he will grow on and Miles will take over. I guarantee
you think they'll introduce him in the next Spider-Man movie?
Seeing what's going on with Marvel right now, I think they're in a shuffling everything
and reevaluating.
We'll talk about that too because it is-
But I think there is a rush to go, we need to introduce him in live action.
Yeah, I think so too. And I think that he'll be introduced in Spider-Man 4.
Yeah. And I think, I really hope.
But see, now this game, the first one did it so well. You introduced him. You played some levels, but as Miles, he didn't become Spider-Man.
I mean, I think I haven't played the game fully through story mode in a year or two.
So I think at the end, he became, I know that his game picks up where Peter's like,
hey, I got to leave New York.
Okay.
You're in New York's in good hands with you.
So at the end of the first game, Miles shows up.
He's in the whole game, the first game, but as Miles.
I think he gets his spider powers.
But I know when you play as him, there was a level like your dad's when his father passes.
There's a, you're playing as Miles, but I don't remember, I don't think he had power.
at this point I think he gets them in the game but it's you don't play as in with the
powers okay so and I know that the so this is his story line in that game picks up
with him he's got a suit and and he goes is this one of your most hyped up games
in a while yeah yeah easily like like I'm always a call of duty so I'll get called
to do every year I got the moral combat that just came out but this one like it
kind of came up on nowhere because it's been five years yeah and we knew it was coming
you know it's it out this is
a surprising thing.
I don't think I've ever been more excited
for a game between DC and Marvel than this.
I think DC's really dropped the ball lately
with their, they did that whole Justice League,
suicide sweat kills the Justice League.
Seeley Marvel's taken over to the games.
Well, they, it's the team behind the Arkham games,
which I think are the greatest superhero games of all time,
but they really bungled that suicide squad game.
It seems like because they try to make it a battle pass,
and it's like you've got to earn things and you've got to buy things
and the fans ate them alive.
And they're suddenly like, oh, it's supposed to come out in May,
but we're taking it up to sleep yeah they said it may right and we don't know when it's
coming out because I think they realize the fans ate like this game spider-man
people said it's like similar to the last one but like if it's not broke don't fix
it like yeah just take everything and you upgrade it storyline the characters the
dynamics the graphics because this is the first one the last one was on the PS4 so this
is the PS5 and just the shots of like the city and how busy it is like yeah just take the
technology and upgrade it don't try and reinvent the wheel and I think that's that's why
they're doing so good with the ratings i well right now again the the reviews are off the charts
yeah solid excited it's going to do really well and i'm sure more people are going to be raving about it
so i ask you guys too i always try to as i mentioned the other day when i was talking about the
g2a thing i know a lot of you are gamers did you already order this one are you excited for it were
you fan of the first one go ahead and comment let me know exactly what you think um i wanted to
talk to you guys also about there's a lot of people creators that are whether you're in whether
are you doing YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, any of these things.
If you're creator and you're starting out and or even if you're not starting

We did it.
You saw victory shoulders.
Yeah.
But anyway, so between working with Rocket Money, Kajabi, we're really getting some people
that I think they're going to help out our listeners.
So if you're able to and you have the means to and you want to check this out, please,
the links are in the description.
I always pin them at the top of the comments as well.
Mike had mentioned, you mentioned before about how Marvel's kind of, a lot is going down with the
Daredevil stuff, with just tons of, tons of just shifts and moves. And we'll get into that
daredevil thing in a second, but I do want to also talk about Deadpool. All right, Dark Horizons.
Again, Garth Franklin, Deadpool 3, the release date, is it in jeopardy? Here is the article,
and it says, filmmaker Sean Levy says he's uncertain if the upcoming third, Deadpool,
feature will still make its plan release date of May 3rd, 2024 due to the ongoing nature of
the strike. A third Deadpool spent years stuck in development, but it finally got to go ahead
this year and it began shooting in May, just as the writer's strike began so changes couldn't be made
to the script. When the actor's strike went into effect on July 14th, however, production had to
hit pause and has been on ice ever since. Last month, Levy confirmed that he had gotten
halfway through filming before it was halted. In an interview with the rap,
today for his upcoming limited Netflix series,
All the Light We Cannot See.
He expressed concern about the Deadpool 3 delay.
I don't even know if we officially have a release date.
I know we were going to be May 3rd,
and certainly the actor's strike and the long pause in production
have put the release date in true risk.
We've shot half the movie.
I bet it half the movie.
We're dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.
He was also asked about the intendants
alongside his film starring Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds,
at a recent Kansas City Chiefs v. New York Jets game.
The trio were seen,
the game with Taylor Swift, who is good friends with Reynolds and his wife.
This sparked rumors of Swift doing a cameo as Dazzler in the film.
Sheld Navi has no, it's Levy, right?
I go see Levy.
Yeah. She has no comment.
I'm going across the board.
No comment, because that's a double whammy.
That's Taylor-related.
It's MCU related.
I'm no dummy.
You're going to have to wait and see.
He's also a producer on Netflix's Stranger Things,
which is expected to be getting filming in its fifth season after a strike of that, he says.
I can say that we're hoping to start filming as soon as possible.
We really need dead actor strike resolve first.
The Duffers have been hard at work since the writer's strike ended.
Okay.
So there's, let's start with Deadpool, obviously.
Okay.
With the strike.
Yeah.
When the writer strike was going on, I was talking about it, you know, they were like,
well, how are they not going to be able to improv?
They're not going to be able to improv?
Then they can't do it.
It's like, no, what they can do is they can put Ryan Reynolds in a mass.
They do the lines that are actually written in the script.
And then when it's time, when the writer strike ends,
they can do their improv and they'll be fine.
That wasn't the issue.
But we knew once the sack strike, it's over.
So everybody, I would say, I wouldn't say everybody is, I say I'm a majority,
you and I included, said, this thing will be over by last week.
When I went to New York, it came back, I thought it was going to be over.
Well, that didn't happen.
No.
You and I were talking off air before the show started, and you think it's going to be the end
of next.
beginning of next year yeah I think they're following step by step the the way that
they treated the writers they come to the table this is it oh we're walking away we're not
we're not going to talk to you anymore we're done and the actors are like friend
direction all they're like we're talking we want we'll keep going to the table but they're
just not coming back they gave us an offer and they're not going to negotiate that one and they did
the same thing with the writers and and what's great about writer twitter is they're so active and it's so
good it's like actors hold strong they did the same thing to us you hold all the cards
because we do it's like you gave a great deal to them so we want the great deal for us that's a fair deal and and you know the writers are the direct I thought honestly I thought the studio would have enough they gave the writers they gave us great ones like all right just give the actors the same thing we we that's what they said it was the same thing I think that they're but we have got different there's the residuals and then but but then what I should you mean they're talking about the studio said they wanted a temper a two percent share in streaming residuals well it's clearly not what you gave the writers because if it was
you know right did the writers want one but i don't know what i haven't looked at the writers
contract extensively i've just kind of looked at bullet points so i trust the leadership that's at
the table and the fact that we haven't backed down the fact that the i was i was hesitant to think
oh man watch this yeah we're gonna feel kind of not bullied into taking it but the writers took
theirs the directors took theirs we're kind of like ah we're gonna cave and they didn't they
double down like you know january yeah so i would have said january also and you know
I was reading Snyder's tweets.
Snyder had a good point, Jeff Snyder.
He was talking about how, I guess,
he was talking to certain people he was talking to,
that both sides of the table really want to get this thing done
before Thanksgiving.
They want people's holidays to be good.
They want people's holidays, everybody.
It wants people's holidays to go into the holiday season going,
okay, now it doesn't really mean that work's going to start to pick up.
It won't.
That's what I'm saying.
It won't pick up to the New Year anyway,
because nothing really happens.
There's like two weeks.
You'll get promotion.
Sure, but there's two.
weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas that gets really busy. I always get auditions, tons of them in that time, and then it just shuts off. But I could see that, but also there was that thought that wanted to get wrapped up for the Jewish holiday that we just had had. They wanted to get that wrapped up and that didn't happen. Yeah. So I'm just glad that they're not going to cave to, you know, we're going, we've been at this long and the regimen this long. And I think the directors are kind of looking at it going, we could have got what? What do we do? I think directors got a pretty sweet deal.
what i what i will directors i said directors right now yeah yeah i think that um what's going to happen
is i do think it'll maybe i'm just being optimistic at this point but i mean but i do think
it'll happen in november and i and i'm telling you i think that zazlov is really one of the
if you went behind the scenes i bet you he's the one guy connected to the amp w xyz that's that's
saying uh hey listen let's get this done because he needs to promote wonka he needs to promote aquaman
So I think he's going to be leading the charge there.
And I do think that because of, not just because of that,
but I think that, I think they're going to strike a deal.
And I think we'll have it before the end of the year.
But to relate it to Deadpool, it does push it.
Because even if it's, like, if it would have ended now,
then November, you could have started shooting again, right?
Start shooting tomorrow if you want.
I mean, by the time it's ratified inside.
Yeah, you got to try.
So November 1st is when everybody kind of thought it would.
And so November 1st, you still could push to May.
doesn't get done until I don't know if it depends on how effects heavy it is but if it but
still you still got to shoot it so if you mid mid-November yeah and they don't start
shooting until December then they take a break for the holidays there's this movie's not
coming out in May anymore it's gonna probably I say July I'm yeah that one and the
one I'm worried about not worried about it is mission impossible well they didn't
they shoot they basically shot that they were they still they still were all they still
all they still out of reshoots and stuff so I'm just like and that one pushed three
times the first one so they're gonna really hope that that movie does better than the
part one I don't I think that's a wrong way to look at it I think the fact that I
don't think anything needed to change at that film I think I think if there was no
Barbenheimer it would have done stellar well a hundred percent that's not what I
so he needs the wrong way to look at you want it to do better but I said I hope it does
better but it didn't do good did you good because of releasing not because it wasn't a good
movie didn't say I'd said I just wanted to do better he's just financial up
but here's the thing
thing I want to talk with this for a second is the big thing wrong way to look at it I
want to be what I was saying it's like I wanted to do it's about first of all they're
blaming how did Paramount do them so dirty like that paramount no studio had any clue
barbohenheimer was going to be this phenomenon that it was even the week before
the numbers were not tracking with what they ended up getting right right so no one
predicted that but the fact that film made it cost 300 million they said what people
don't talk want to talk about is the movie cost 210 million to make 80 million
of it was because McQuarrie and Cruz got the studio to pay the cast and crew for
seven months when they were shut for COVID.
And then the insurance company didn't want to pay that.
So they were suing them.
So they're going to get $80 million back on top of what they made.
So it makes a very big profit.
No, it doesn't because marketing.
Yes, it does.
No, it doesn't.
It doesn't.
It doesn't.
It doesn't.
Marketing and theater calls and everything.
It's still going to make money.
It's not.
It'll barely break even.
Anyway, so I, like, you and I saw that movie together.
Yeah.
I've seen it six times.
Have you really?
Six times in theaters.
You saw it six times in theaters?
Absolutely.
Then I bought the 4K, but the 4K came out, doesn't come out until October.
I bought the digital.
I never buy digital.
And I had to see it.
I've seen it twice already in digital.
So you've seen it eight times.
Eight times.
I love it.
And again, it's not my favorite of the series.
I thought it was a good action movie.
But I love it.
Favorite movie the year?
Okay.
All right.
Well, nonetheless, you'll get another one hopefully next year.
Yeah, anyway.
Who knows what's going to happen?
And then as far as the other part of that when it comes to the Taylor Swift of it all.
yeah um i think that is pretty much a confirmation he's so right though in the way he says is it's two
camps it's marvel and her taylor swiftie right i can't win yeah seeing her power and that she's got
though that's insane she she she when she does a tour when she's insane to me when she does a
one gig in like tampa it boosts the economy by like triple i guess i was talking my girlfriend
about this and she's not a swiftly but she went to the concert and she loved it and she loved it and
And she is a massive supporter of her and what she does.
And I'm kind of like, I guess I'm just on the bubble of like, I couldn't sing one song of hers.
You probably would.
But yeah, she goes, shake it up.
I'm like, oh yeah, that you said shake it up, but I can't.
It's like you asked me to sing, because this is the thing, there's this conversation like they're comparing her or she should be compared to people like Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, in the sense that of what they've accomplished.
And I don't know that, but that's not to say that's not true.
I'm not the guy to ask.
So I would be way more ignorant with her stuff, had it not, my daughter is like,
you sure, there you go.
Major fan, so I hear her music all over the house all the time, right?
But like, I, because I remember the debate that I had with Makuga back in Clyde Live and he talked.
And I don't believe this still, but he said it back then was that he thinks that she's better than Prince.
Oh.
And I was like, and at the time, at the time I was like, come on, man, this is a ridiculous argument.
I understand why you bring the argument up.
I don't agree with the argument,
but I understand why the argument can be made.
And you look at what she does in general.
And some people, it's like they bring up,
who brought this up the other day?
Shoot, somebody who brought up Ed Sheeran being on Game of Thrones.
Okay, yeah.
And how it threw the show off.
And it threw it up.
I said, why?
Why did it throw it off?
Was he that big of a, he's such a,
his look is so distinct, he's such a.
But he's playing a guitar or a ukulele or something.
I don't know what he was doing.
He was playing the song by the tree.
It didn't.
And he was fine.
He didn't, it didn't, maybe because they go, oh, it's Ed Shear and but it wasn't disruptive.
And it's like, and but the difference is that's on television.
If you put, if you Taylor Swift shows up, and Taylor Swift, by the way, has been in many movies to it.
And I actually thought, I don't think she's the best actress.
However, even the movie was a piss bomb was the last, uh, a piss bomb.
Yeah, the last, the last one, what was it called?
The one with Christian Bale and, uh, oh man.
It was oh oh that just came out oh oh oh oh it's Margo Robbie gets hit by a car yes not Babylon it's the other one no it's David O Russell yes and whatever that's Amsterdam yes and it was not good it's a I got that within 15 seconds but she was good she was she in that movie but she was in that movie but she was a small role but she was good at here's the thing her fans will show up for her sure but the yeah oh if they put her in that movie fans will show up but is she too big does she
she eclips the character.
How big is the role?
But it's like, hey, it's Dazzler.
Yes, she's an actress singer, mutant.
That's Taylor Swift would fit that to a team.
But is it showing up like, oh, there's Taylor Swift
with the kind of cool costume.
Is it a bit?
It's it a bit.
She's such a big.
She is now a clips that we talk about her.
Like, she's a, like for me, I'm ignorant of it.
No, for me it's, I'm ignorant of it.
The fact, like, I know her as the girl that makes songs
about the guy she breaks up with her.
That's all I know of her.
But that's a disservice to how,
incredibly talented she is, but that's all I know on my little bubble of that pop music.
But she shows up and I'm like, that's not Dazzler, that's not Alison Blair, that's Taylor
She's also, but she's also hitting Titanic Avatar proportion.
What I mean by that is...
But you surpass...
It's like the rock and stuff now.
Wait, but what I mean by that is, you know how it goes when something is super popular
at first, everybody loves it.
And then when it gets too popular, everybody hates it.
True.
And I think that...
Oh, you think she's hitting that level?
By people who like there's people who are Swifties and are never going to turn on her right for sure but the people who didn't even know about her
Or this I hate Taylor stuff why do you hate Taylor well because she's popular but then you see like see her on the football even see even that I can like as like
Oh my God look at the performativeness of her cheering at the football game like but who cares I don't give a shit but I'm just seeing it and I see why people are like
Okay and the entire focus was not on the game was on her I guess this goes back to this
yeah you know I could care less about Taylor Swift connoculus if you could care less
I couldn't care less whatever you said yeah people love her great here's okay so we
talk about this sir she's it's it's kind of a dead time of movie theaters and her
movies killing it whenever my only thought when I when I heard that was like can you
imagine sitting next door and seeing killers of the flower moon and there's a concert
going on next door with people erupting and a well then you're in a bad theater that
it's not soundproof oh come on now I don't know if there's bad there are times and
there's an explosion next door
And I'm like, shit.
You get better ears than I didn't.
Shit your mouth.
Before we move on, I also want to, like, I didn't tell you this.
So I would have to actually rely on you on this.
So we, on Patreon, when we hit 1,000 patrons,
and for people who are running, and there's two levels on patrons now.
They do, like, when people follow you,
and then there's the people who sign up and pay a monthly fee.
For, I think right now, for the actual people who are members of the,
we have something like, what is it?
It's like almost 400.
I think.
Okay.
When we hit a thousand,
if we can do it by this month,
which would be tough,
then Winston is going to,
Winston is terrified of everything,
but scary.
Like, so.
Scary movies?
He's terrified?
Of all of it.
So we want to take him to Halloween horror nights.
Oh, shit.
Yeah.
Oh, God.
So we want to take them,
but that's a,
but that's a thousand,
that's at a thousand.
And if we hit a thousand,
let's say,
by January,
uh,
he'll go next year.
Oh,
so you're saying.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
So then we have other ones at 1,
at 1200 i think it's 1200 or 15 i can't remember but if it's we'll move it we'll move it if it's
twelve hundred it should be 1200 brett and i will go front row spend the money in front row seats
to the kori feldman concert and record the whole thing
corey feldman like is he singing yeah have you never seen him sing before oh it's a disaster
yeah i've seen he like he's got like this like that's like that's the michael jackson
yeah the michael jackson thing it's so wait i thought that was old that's not like he's still
doing it somebody just sent me a video and i feel so bad i i when i say somebody i mean i mean
You know who said it to you.
I mean, 25 people sent me, I get, I'm like DMs.
Look at this thing from Corey Feldman.
The poor guy, I'll have to put it, probably put the clip.
Put it up, I got to see it.
He's singing and he's singing from the Lost Boys song
and Cry a Little Sister, and he goes to, and he gets into it and he goes like this,
bashes his face into the microphone, and it's like, come on, the poor bastard.
I show my wife, she's like, that's just sad.
Oh, this he now.
He's got to be older than that's right.
Oh, yeah, he's in his 50s.
So anyway, so that's, that's, we're going to go to that.
Wow, he's still singing, huh?
Yeah.
At 10,000,
yeah.
Brett is going to go full on the flirt and flouse method in skydive.
And yeah.
Holy shit.
And Jen Sturger is going to go.
You ever been skydiving?
No.
It's incredible.
Jen Sturger is going to go and be Jessica in not,
she's not going to skydive, but she's going to go with him in character,
talk to the performances as his German pop star girlfriend.
and all that stuff.
And then I also said, I think it was, for me, it's $5,000.
Well, PLD, you ever seen PLD on a mustache?
Have I ever seen it?
I don't think so.
And then for me, I'm going to bleach blonde my hair and do the full-on tan for, I don't
know how long, but we're doing that.
So I wanted to ask you this.
Oh, I'm getting roped in this shit.
Yeah.
So like I said, we're at 400.
I can't change my appearance.
No, this is my life.
At 600 patrons, would you do.
a seven-minute stand-up comedy set at either the show we're doing a show on December 4th,
if you're in town, and if you're not in town, then I'll get you up on one of Jake Lewis's show
and we'll record it and we'll put it up on the main channel.
Would you do a seven-minute?
I got to do- Would you do five minutes?
Stand-up comedy.
Yeah, five minutes or seven minutes.
You can choose.
I don't even have a topic to talk about, man.
Would you do it if me and Brett helped you work on it?
600 patrons.
I guess.
Five. I ain't doing seven. I gotta do a tight five minutes.
All right, five minutes. All right, so you heard it here.
Well, hold on a second. How do I come up with shit?
I told you I'd help you out.
God. I got nervous all of a sudden. I think I just shit my pants.
Would you do it? Five minutes. Six hundred patrons.
Where's it going to be at?
We're probably Flappers.
Either December 3rd when we do our live show or...
Well, hey, you know what?
Fuck it, because you saw me at Flappers when we were there just on the Sith Council thing.
That was fun.
I love talking.
Good.
I love the talk.
You heard it.
So at 600.
So, again, when you see the patrons, it's like you can follow it, but it's like the whole
reason we're going to do this so we can pay people to do this stuff.
That's why we're at 600 on the paid memberships.
We're going to go and Mike will do five minutes of stand-up comedy that Brett and I will help us with.
So there's a new goal there.
I'll tell PLD.
All right.
So let's move on to this next topic.
Speaking of Marvel, speaking of Daredevil before, we had mentioned it briefly.
What do you think about all this stuff going on with Deer Dole, Mike?
Yeah, I'm glad you asked me.
Yes.
I got some thoughts.
Go ahead.
Tell me, first of all, for people who don't know, get a little breakdown on what's going down and then we'll get into the Donoff.
Now, it kind of came out a little bit that Marvel was kind of, they let go of the writers and directors.
They shot half the show already.
I think, I think it was, well, I get, I'm, I hear it's 18 episodes.
It was supposed to be 18.
It was divided into two nine-episode arcs or series.
Okay.
They let go of the writers, let go of the directors.
let go of the directors they're going to kind of try and see what they can use it's been shot
and i guess stuff is coming out the fact that like charlie cox didn't show up in the daredevil suit
to issue five episode four yeah and my thoughts on this to start off is like you guys the
driver whoever writers whatever pitch this you signed off on this you knew what you were getting
right i'll say this to start off with the the netflix daredevil one two and three
is I think the gold standard of superhero television it's great I don't know if I've ever seen
season three but oh it's great they're just great you don't like when they started coming as like
i it felt weird the fact that Charlie Cox is coming in and I think that his appearance in
she hulk was still the guy from the Netflix show yeah it was just a he's a little lighter
in spirits a little different little little different because he's a goofy idiot yeah I saw but but it
still didn't feel like a vast departure
Okay. And I hate the fact that Marvel that can use this now. I was like, well, it's not that. It's the multiverse and that's a different version. It's like, you haven't established that enough to be using that like that like you can't pick and choose what you want. Like the fact that they came in and said, okay, we're not using Foggy or Karen Page. And I'm just like, that's kind of like having no Alfred, no commissioner Gordon in Daredevil. But it's happened. And now it's coming out that those characters were killed. And he's not in the Daredevil suit because of that because he couldn't stop it. That was the rumor that that's how the
show starts so if you already killed off two characters that people love then what this this bothered
me they were recasting Vanessa Fisk oh okay it wasn't Elliot Zuer I'm I'm butchering her name
it was Sandrine Holt and this to me one of the reasons we love Wilson Fiske and Vincent
Afrio was the chemistry the two of them had they were so good together and it could be the actress
didn't want to come back it could be she's shooting some else I doubt it
doubt it because I don't know what she's working in when that didn't happen and they
cast the role. I was like, okay, you're not going to have fog,
you're not going to have Karen Page. They're just not part of the story.
But you are having Vanessa, and it's a massive part
of the story, and you're not using the same actress.
I was kind of like, one is
an actor, I'm kind of like, oh, that's some, that's
some bullshit. But I don't know the reasons
why. I am of the mind, if it's not broke,
don't, why did you just make Daredevil
season four? And you could have made it
fit in the MCU. Yeah, tied it
all together. But the fact that they said it was going to be
a procedural. I'm like, but you pitched
this. Figi approved this.
And then do you do you think that they could change it now?
Do you think that they can go back on that?
Oh, I think they're going back and it's going to be a dare.
Like it says it's like there was no action.
The show was known for the action, the violence.
No, no.
I mean, do you think that they're going to actually now connect it and make it season four?
That's what I'm saying.
I think so.
They're going to do that.
Oh, 100%.
I think they're going to get him in that red and black suit somehow.
I think Karen Page and I think Paige and Foggy will be back.
Okay.
It'll be smart if they did that.
I think they need to bring back Vanessa fit the original
actress I think it's just not afford for this show to be bad no can't afford for this show to be
bad because you look at something like secret invasion which just I didn't even watch it
crap the bed right you look at the Marvels is not tracking well right now um that everything that
they've done in the last couple years have just been either even the ones that have made money
dr. strange two people are like some this ramy heads love it and but there are some people
it's fine thor love and thunder no thank you um there's a lot of
of different things just didn't work even some of the ones that were good it's like that's okay and
i actually disagree with you i think that the kingpin is significantly different than do you
yeah he was so he he didn't he was not threatening at all it's like every time that he came i mean
anybody could beat him in i think that a lot of it had to do with the fact that outfit they put him in
and again it's from the comics there was a comic where he wore that i just didn't it just didn't
work he was not he was he was terrifying in that netflix series terrifying that's why it wasn't
terrifying at all why it's like they they bring the punisher and and it's like they bring the punisher and
like John Bernthal's coming in,
but like you were picking and choosing
who you wanted to bring in.
That just left a very bad taste in my mouth.
It just, I was like, all right.
But maybe fighting themselves is like, yeah, we're really,
what are we doing?
That was gold.
Let's kind of go back to that and mine that again.
I hope so.
I hope you that what they don't,
what they, what would be great is that they,
if they were able to say, look,
we looked at it and we wanted to disconnect
from the Netflix thing because it wasn't us.
Right.
But why?
Let's put our ego in check.
To your point with saying that, do you think it's because, like for me, the biggest letdown of endgame, and it was my only downside was they never brought Colson back or let Steve and them know he was alive.
Right.
Because he was the reason that they formed the Avengers.
And they didn't even pay attention as if it was canon.
Not even, but it's like, that's like, that's Jeff Loeb and Marvel television.
Right.
That's not our thing.
We're not touching that.
Do you think it to when they start was like, Netflix,
We're not touching that.
100%.
And now they're like,
maybe we should touch that.
We made a mistake.
I think so.
I think that's 100% it.
All right.
So this is the story here because Vincent Dinoffrio has quit Twitter.
Oh, did he?
He left social media in general.
He left everything because he said recently.
He spoke out on reports about Daredevil Bornigan being creatively rebooted by Marvel Studios.
DeNoffrio has decided to leave social media and this is what he said.
Earlier this month.
we learned that Marvel Studios has scrapped Daredeville Born Again in its current iteration.
And this is Josh Wilding at comic book movie.
Now the plan is to essentially start from scratch with a new creative team.
And while some scenes will remain, it appears an awful lot is going to be left on the cutting room floor.
Shortly after the news broke, Vincent Donofrio took to Twitter to cast doubt on the reports insisting it wasn't big news
and that every cool project I've been involved with has evolved constantly during pre-production production and post.
a bunch of creatives are doing their best to get it right.
Some fans weren't buying it, and the actor made it clear.
We're going to bring forward the best series we can and one we can be proud of.
However, the endless questions and negativity may have finally got the better of the Hawkeye Star.
In a now deleted post, as a result of his entire account taken down,
he announced his departure from social media, to which he said,
So everyone, I'm going to leave X.
I'm going to leave very soon.
To my amazing and loyal followers, you know I've been contemplating this for a while.
Today is the day I leave you for now with much love to you all.
I don't think it would be spending much time on any platform.
Feeling like leaving Instagram today as well.
I'll come back soon or maybe later.
I don't know, maybe with a brand new account.
He signed off with a short poem and despite not mentioning Daredevil born again,
we'd guess this was the straw which broke the camel's back for the actor.
It should, by no means, be taken as a sign he's leaving the series or anything as extreme as that.
He simply had enough of social media, a sentiment that we're sure many of you can relate to.
It's a shame because DeNafrio's presence online has been fun.
whether it's him sharing his desire to take on Spider-Man as Wilson Fisk,
or always entertaining stories as anecdotes.
The actor is expected to play a big role in the MCU moving forward,
appearing in Echo and Daredevil Born Again
before potentially making the leap to the big screen in Spider-Man 4.
A part in the latter could hinge on exactly how much the man without fear
Disney Plus series, though, changes.
He's gone.
He's gone.
I'm looking at him right now on Twitter.
I can't find him.
He was one of the best voices actor-wise.
Not just for acting stuff, politically.
He was always a level-headed guy, and he never went at fans.
Because I think one of it's what started was he did that tweet about creative show and this.
And someone feels like, this tweet hasn't aged well.
I saw that, yeah.
Like, but it's like, you know, but he said he was such a good voice because he let the fans in.
He was one of the actors that was very engaging on social media.
What do they want him to say?
Yeah, it was a real shit piece.
Yeah, it was a shit.
I hate you work in it, but I'm under contract and they signed it wrong thing.
No, he's not going to tell.
No actor's going to call out a problem.
project that they're on. I guess I mean, I guess the counter that is like just don't say anything.
Right. But do you want to engage with the fans? I get it. But I also understand mentally,
it's probably good idea to take a break. And once you delete your account doesn't mean that
you can't bring it back. And what I love to is the fact that Marvel recognized this.
They shot half a season. Right. How much money is that wasted? But they recognize that.
They didn't put out. We'll fix it the next. Well, the next nine will read. It'll be the
MCU version of Earth 77 Daredevil will show up and this will change now. They
can not afford to have this show be bad no that's the big because i have well okay so thinking about
that you want to talk about slates and whatnot i thought there's like okay the marvels coming this
isn't tracking well at all um and again i don't think that's a whole other conversation but everyone's
like well the first one made a billion it's like the first one made a billion because it was the last one
before end game right no one was not watching this one right this is a different it's kind of like
aquaman and you know aquaman too they're different things we're in a different world now with these
Marvel's too but anyway I'm like what comes next what's the next movie I
like it's cap but that's not going Thunderbolts cap and Thunderbolts
were supposed to be the next two right cap and Thunderbolts
New World War I think was May Thunderbolts was July okay and that those neither of
those are hit they'll get pushed yeah those are not hit so when's Marvel's
next movie and and maybe this is a good thing maybe hey we're taking the strike
we're gonna well they've got those shows like that's the problem what show comes
after Echo and
but they even says like
we're dropping them all at once
on a Monday night
on January right because so you
that's a
they want to clear this whole old
regime I like the character of Echo and
Hawkeye I like Hawkeye
and I didn't love it but but Daredevil and Hawke
you love that it was Christmas
exactly 100%
fucking spoke to me
hell yeah man
which is fun and I watch it every Christmas now
but fine that's fine Kingpin and
Daredevil are supposed to be an Echo
oh okay so it's like
well Charlie
They, look, good on them for acknowledging the re-haul.
And there will be the people's like,
It's a fucking shit show now, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Like they did with DC is like, at least they're recognizing it and going, yeah,
we got to do a step back, reassess, and get back to what made us great.
Because if you continue to do it the way that they're doing it, it's like, it's a bad habit.
Well, what did you think?
And with bad habits can be beat with good habits.
And I'll tell you guys about beating bad habits with a good habit, and that's fume.
And sticking with a good habit.
is AG1. I'll tell you about both of them right now.
All right guys, this episode is sponsored by Fume.
Bad Habits, man.
A lot of people have bad, bad habits,
and bad habits can really kick your ass
and they can mess with your health.
They really can set you back.
I've seen it, been around it, and I know.
And when you see this, the first thing you're,
what is that?
The first thing you should know is that's not a vapeen.
It's not electronic, it's natural.
That's why I'm on board in the first place.
What is it then?
It's a device.
And it helps you quit nasty habits,
and that's why I was on board.
right away when they reached out.
At first, I'm not going to lie.
I was skeptical.
I didn't know.
I don't know.
That's not really my thing.
It's like, wait a minute.
You're not breathing in nasty chemicals with this.
And what it is, it's legit, it's just fresh air.
It's natural air.
It is flavored air.
That's it.
You heard me.
Air.
And it flavors.
It is a great way to replace nasty habits.
There is no nasty chemicals, none of the stuff that creates bad habits.
And that to me was like, wait a minute.
So you can actually turn.
a bad habit and you just make it a good habit because it ain't messing you up and it ain't hurting you
because I said wait a minute flavored air and I said it just feels fresh they sent me one of them
and I said okay great cool it's pretty well-weighted it's perfectly balanced and it's very easy
to fidget with stopping is something that everybody puts off because it is hard but if you
switch to fume it is easy and it's enjoyable and it's fun fume has served over 100,000 customers
and has had thousands of success stories,
and there's no reason that that can't be you.

you have the means to do it. I talk about it all the time. Please, please, please. Consider one of our
wonderful sponsors. I put all the links in the description. I pin it as the first in the comments.
And when you do that, you help out the show. All right, Mike, you were saying. Yeah. I didn't
realize this. And again, because I guess they're kind of quiet about it, the fact of how they have run
their television department, like no show runners, no show Bible. And I didn't think about that.
I was like, how do you make a TV show then? Were they just treating every series like a movie?
Yeah. I was like. I wonder.
And Twitter, writer Twitter is so good because they were all like, yeah, kind of we were telling you, that's how TV wasn't broken.
And you guys wanted to go a different way with it.
And it was just like, see, you didn't have a Bible, like just.
And for anyone listening to doesn't know, a show Bible is just kind of like they get together at the beginning of the writers.
And this is like a document that's like this where we need to go.
This character, this is his arc and this is what he does.
And this is his background.
And these are the locations.
It's just for new people that come in, new writers, season five.
Yeah.
They can go to the Bible and like, all right, this is this character.
and they're connected to this character,
and it's just like,
they didn't have anything like that to just...
No, and you know what I wonder, though, too,
because of the writer's strike...
It's interesting.
I wonder if the Daredevil plan
also had a lot to do with the writer's strike, too,
because of the residual stuff.
Because when they made this deal,
the 18-episode deal,
there was no residuals.
There was none of this stuff that they had to do.
Yeah.
What are they...
How much more money was it going to cost them to do certain?
Do you think that it's going to come down from 18 episodes?
Well, what I've...
What I knew...
I didn't know as an actor,
my bad for knowing this,
when a show runs for so long they will rebrand the show yeah yeah is a different name like after
season three so you don't have to pay a fourth season residual on it right i'm just like like
this sweet life of cody and something something or whatever social media yeah i didn't know that but
you look back at how many shows after three seasons got rebranded just a name to avoid and that's a slimy
and that's why same show i mean social media sucks for a lot but like stuff like that it in it yeah
educated education yeah for sure i agree all right last thing well one or two things um did you watch
gargoyles when you're a kid you know i think i was just i was batman the anime series at this point
all right let's talk so maybe i shouldn't say i was too old for it um there is a massive
following for this show yes maybe it's small but it's a vocal it is i was just at 94 i was
into uh batman and um spider man the anime series but i do remember it well people love this series
they do now they're doing a live action after three decades
after it premier, the fame 1990s animated TV series, Gargoyles,
is coming back as a live-action series.
Gary Darberman, who did It and the Nunn,
and James Wan's Atomic Monster label,
who previously teamed on the Annabelle Films
and the short-lived Swamp Thing series
are behind the live-action adaptation,
which is being done for the Disney Plus service.
Daberman will write, executive-produce,
and show-run the series with Atomic Monster executive producing.
Keith David, Ed Asner, and Jonathan Frax,
led their voices to the original animated series,
Premier 94 ran for three seasons, 78 episodes, and followed a clan of gargoyles as heroes and transplanted them from the 10th century into the modern day.
Back in the Middle Ages, most of the clan was killed and the survivors were cursed to be frozen in stone until their castle reached above the clouds.
A billionaire buys the castle and has it transported to and reconstructed atop his New York City skyscraper,
awaking the creatures from their slumber.
The gargoyles must protect the city and its people from various supernatural challenges.
Disney previously tried to develop a film adaptation just over a decade,
to go, but it failed to take off. A rumor earlier this year said that Kenneth Brano would
helm a new feature taken on the property, but that was shot down by Greg Weissman.
Dowerman also wrote and directed the upcoming new film adaptation of Stephen King's Salem's
lot, which is completing and sitting on a shelf at Warner Brothers Pictures who have yet to set
a release date for it. So I think this one will definitely go, and it's a good idea for a live
action series. And 10 years ago they were going to do live action, I mean, what's that going to look
But now, with everything, the new, the way that they're going to, you know, can do the effects.
I hope it's going to be live.
I hope it's going to be actors and prosthetics.
With some CGI enhancements.
Speaking of which, that actually reminds me similar but different.
No Zeb in Asoka, which I thought was interesting.
And if they made those gargoyles look like the way they made Zab, that could be pretty cool.
Zeb looked great in Mandalorian.
Yeah.
And he showed up for what reason?
I mean that.
Well, that's true.
I don't know why they put him in...
Yeah, it's stuff like that that happens in Star Wars.
I'm like, I know he's the guy from Rebels.
Is it going to connect?
No, not connected.
He's just sitting in a...
And then I'm going to get in the...
Well, wait for season two!
Right.
But Gargoyles.
Yeah.
I think it'll...
Was it an actor in prosthetics in that show or no?
In Zeb?
Yeah.
I don't...
We don't know.
That's what's great.
Yeah.
But that's what I'm saying.
So they could essentially do that for the gargoyles.
But I think this is a good idea to do a live action show for this.
I think that it'll...
I think the fans of the original...
will come out and watch it.
I think it could be really cool.
It could be really good.
And our last story, speaking of a very popular animated series, all right, so this is from
Dark Horizon, Scarth Franklin, following the announcement of their geeked week celebrations,
Netflix has premiered new photos from its upcoming live action TV series, adaptation of the
acclaimed Nickelodeon animated series, Avatar, the last airbender that ran from 2005 to 2008.
The streamer released shots of the four main characters from the series, Gordon Comier as Ang,
Qie and Tio as Katara, Ian Owsley, Assoca, and Dallas Lou as Zuko. They're showing off another
shot of Lou as Zuko alongside some of the supporting characters as Daniel Day Kim as Lord Ozai.
Paul Sun Jung from your buddy from Rebels and Asoka and Asokin.
Okay.
As Uncle Iro
and Elizabeth Hugh
as Princess Azula
and Ken Lung as commanders out.
The show unfolds
in a fantasy world
divided into four nations
and each centered around
one of the four elements
a century after the fire nation
launched an attack
and pledged war on the world
a new young airbender
named Ang, an avatar
who can master
all four elements is discovered.
The cast also includes
Amber Mid Thunder
as Princess Hugh
I like her.
Me too.
She was in here
not too long ago.
I know she was.
Lim Ksu as Monkutzo
there's a lot of other
It's a stacked cast.
Stack cast.
The series marks the second attempt to adapt the work into live action
following the critically savage N-night Shyamon adaptation in 2010,
which was a big flop.
The series will be show run by Albert Kim, yada, yada, yada.
Here are some of...
Here's some of the pictures.
Yeah.
These are some of the...
And this is a Netflix show?
It's a Netflix show, but I'll tell you that...
There he is.
And he looks great.
I love...
You know...
I love the look.
Go back to him.
I will.
but hold on dude i love the way it's just these stills yeah i love the filming of it so far and it looks like
it's it's taking itself pretty seriously which i dig i think i'm gonna wind up loving this show
i don't know the show but that guy i've seen before like they the animated version of him
because i'm like they to know for me that hasn't watched the show that can go oh that guy looks
familiar because i've seen stills from the animated shows like that's pretty awesome i think i don't
watch the show i've never watched it i know people rave and they tell me to watch it i don't
I just maybe the first movie that live action and I didn't see that one either I
didn't see that either but just watching going this looks like shit so you know
what happened so I don't think it's very similar to like say like judge dread
remember how bad judge dread damaged I like that movie though and Hines-Saint-San one
I like I liked it then and I want to watch it now it's fun it's not dread
it's because he takes his helmet off but that's what I mean though so and because
dread was awesome but it didn't do very well now people were it were relating it
to that but
This is TV. Now, if you look at the success of like One Piece, right?
Yeah, that's taking off.
I think this show is going to be a major hit.
I think it's just the way that it's pictures alone.
Yeah, I think the fan base for that show is incredible.
Yeah, and they do it right.
I think they could because in television in a show like this, this is the other problem besides the many problems that the Shammala movie had.
When you're trying to take a show that was on through three or four seasons, whatever it was,
and the amount of episodes that they did and cram it into a two-hour movie.
Yeah.
It's tough.
But if you take it into a live action series,
you look at like, again, one piece,
one piece, the amount of episodes,
from what people are telling me,
I did watch the live action,
and I loved it.
And people were telling me, dude,
what you just watched in the first season,
that's like, just like the prequel
of what the real series is all about.
I was like, that's amazing,
because they set it up,
there's just so much detail.
And I think this is the same thing.
I love this.
It again, looks like it's taking itself serious.
I don't want it to be goofy.
And I think that it's going to be,
I think it's going to be fantastic.
I'm hoping for.
Are you going to watch it?
You check it out?
Maybe.
Maybe.
I only say that because of the amount of stuff that I haven't watched that I want to watch still.
I just...
But then I go and watch Mission Impossible or the seventh...
I'm guilty of that stuff too.
People are telling me the other day, they're like, you should watch this, this, and you know what I watched last week?
Lost boys?
Heat?
Rocky.
No, I didn't watch Heat.
Lost boys?
Yeah.
My best friend's wedding.
what was the other one I watched
why do we do that
there's tons of new stuff that we in this
it should be watching takes you back to that time but we go
back and watch a thing we've seen for 20
fucking times and then I watch Beatles you
I watch Beatles with my daughter yeah well
she loves Beatles yeah and then on the plane
yeah there was other movies that I could watch new ones
there was that there was that insidious red door I've wanted to see
didn't watch it instead I watched Willie Wonka
the Gene Wilder version
yes I watched I would never watch it
I watched Willie Wonka I watched
What was the other one that I watched?
I don't know.
Oh, shoot.
I know you weren't there, but there was, I can't remember, but I watched, I watched a little bit of this Daryl Strawberry Dwight Gooden thing, but it was...
You know what I blame it on for me?
Yeah.
What I blame it on for me?
I blame it on you for five years that fucking schmowdown having to watch those inner geekyton movies over and over and over.
Yeah.
And over and over again.
And you're the one of the glory.
All new stuff.
You could have been terrible at it.
Fortune and Glory, kid.
That's what I was after.
Oh, man.
I can't remember.
What was the other movie I watched by?
It was like, it was something.
Oh, Dazing Confused.
Oh. Great movie.
I got so much stuff.
And now my problem is, too, I love watching directors' commentaries.
So I'm rewatched the same movie, but at least I'm watching the comment.
I love director's commentaries.
Would you do?
That's another thing that I'm doing on Patreon, by the way.
Like, first time watching movies.
Would you want to do one of those or maybe?
We basically watch a movie.
Yeah.
There's tons of shit.
I haven't seen.
I couldn't have said that during the Shmodon because people like, you didn't watch Citizen Kane?
There's a lot of stuff we could watch together.
So, all right.
Speaking of which, everybody.
