We're going to start off the day with Bonnie's performance that we owed you from yesterday. We've got Sabrina Ramirez here. Oh, Sabrina have a bold lip on today. I know. I haven't brought out the red lip at all this week, and I was like, what am I doing? She has that. It looks, and she's got an asymmetrical neckline.

Does that neck Velker at the back? Because I don't understand how my head would fit. No, it literally just stops. I ran out of turtlenecks. So this is my last one. It's amazing. My head's way too fat to put in that. We have the birthday girl.

Oh, she looks a day older than yesterday. Hello. A day older and wiser? You know what? Kate, I'm surviving. So I'm thriving today. I think Roxy probably feels. Similarly, we're here.

We made it. Power to the Pousse. Power to the Pousse. You hope that you are hungover. You better be hungover. You better be. You better be. But also,

you're both still in your 20s. So that's really. Oh, so fuck off. Yeah, exactly. It all started so kind. And then it just took a steep descent. I immediately bring it way down with the class. Like it lasted like five seconds.

We didn't, honestly, we didn't even need that class, Bonnie, because I'm with you 100%. Honestly, You know how much I would have had to drink in my 20s to be hung over? And do you know how little I have to drink now in my nearly 40s to be hung over? It's not fair, guys. It's not fair. And joining us is scowl-face strier.

There she is scowling. Here's what happened. Serving up that scowl. Greenis said the thing about her lip and it made me laugh. And then when I laughed, I felt like I might puke. And so I've been breathing. And that's where we're at. At $300 day, Roxie's truck.

We're going to preserve it in formaldehyde in the studio when we get out of this fucking hellhole that is COVID. Yeah. I am in my 20s for three more months.

You're the little train that could. You're really chugging through right now. Jeff is like killing it and I'm like, what's, what happened?

No, Ursula would have come after you years ago if she was on land. Oh my God. Trust me. Could we get poor unfortunate souls out of all I'm saying. Could you do that? But I need to practice that if you want that. I need a minute minutes. Okay, okay. That's fine. I could do anything. I just, you know. How dare you? How about support your friends? Drinking for two. The baby wanted some drink. Don't be so fucking selfish. We obviously supportive mother in trying to feed my baby the booze as well. Also, this reason I'm so close to the camera is because my breasts are rested on the table. Too heavy today.

How much to see that? How much you want for that? Yeah. What an image you just gave us? My breasts are roasting on the table. I'm like, you know, that's where we are. I can lift them up, but it does seem challenging. Steph and I have that problem too.

Travis Gilbert donated $20. Today is for sure the day for the live birth. Good morning, lovely ladies. That's what the doctors are saying. So this is what I'm going to tell you. So 500, we know is live birth. 600, if you get us over, if you get us to 600 or over, live birth's canceled, okay?

But at $1,000, Bonnie Somerville is going to sing with Dave her fiance on guitar and whoever the first and i'm going to make him try to make him not wear a shirt because that's wow good wow okay bonnie is a hustler if i've ever seen one body will hustle anything yeah it's the brooklyn i think i got here um and and also the first person that donates a hundred dollars gets to pick what song that is oh yeah so there we go those are those are Those are our goals for today. But I have to say before we go on. So Bonnie, we need you to perform.

But also, because we owe the people from yesterday. But Bonnie sent me a video to this morning. Was the last night or this morning? Because I go to bed early and I wake up early. It was, what was that from? It was from, I was in this band called bands from TV with Greg Grunberg and Hugh Lori and Jamie Denton and a bunch of celebs. And we raised money for charities.

and we played like a bunch of huge events. We raised a lot, a lot of money. We all split it between different charities. And that was, we did an album live and that was available to buy. So that was filmed like in a proper studio with like a whole set. And it was, it's on Amazon still. It's for sale. If anybody wants it, it's a few years old.

Well, more than a few. More than a few. No, you look exactly the same. But if you ever want to see somebody perform and then leave their soul on the stage, watch Johnny, watch Johnny, watch Bonnie's performance of Janice Shoplin's, take another little piece of my heart. You need to justify a little bit because I kind of think how dare you perform and make so much money for charity and not for Christian. I mean, like, that's really. the fucking goddess come here I can't come fifth halfway but I don't think goddesses sound like yeah you're a rock star yeah you're not like a on the harp you're like a smoking goddess you're like smashing guitars and like kicking men in the balls as you like hit the note of a lifetime. Bonnie, do you ever think about making that like your the main career path? I did. When I first started out, I had a record deal and I was, I got assigned at 18 to RCA

records because I was singing piece of my heart in a bar in New York City. And my mom was there and some guy came up to him was like, is that your kid? Like, who's singing? Like, you know, I looked probably 10 at the time. Like she was, he was like, what is that? What's going on? And I moved to LA and I had another one with Inderscope. And that's what I did for the first six years. And I got dropped twice and I was in so many bands and it was so heartbreaking. And I always wanted to act.

So eventually I was like, you know what? I just can't do this anymore. The record businesses, I mean, I don't even, I mean, I couldn't do it now what they, what, what, having to sell albums. But I just got so heartbroken so many times. And I was like, you know what? I'm going to focus on the acting.

What is it up to me? You know, I would sing. What residuals were better for you? The being on the garden state? soundtrack, which was one of the most popular soundtracks of all times, period. End of story. Come for me if you think I'm wrong. I'm not.

That really was an amazing soundtrack. This kind of changed the game. And it changed. And I feel like it changed the game of movies. I feel like Zach Brath, as much as I despise the man, no shade to anybody who knows him or ever knew him. But he was the worst human being. I ever met in my entire life, ever, ever, ever, ever, the worst.

The worst. Not Rob! Zach Raff is a piece of human garbage. Wait. Kate, Whoa. I'm ill right now. Wait, let me.

Wait, am I, are we? Are we live? Is this on? Because I have to mute. We're talking garden state breath. We're talking scrubs, breath. But I'm going to give him his due props. I feel like him being so.

Oh, it's, he's a horrible. And I'll tell you what, everything you need, everything you need to know about a person. that is in a position of power is how they treat the people that are not in power yes everything you need to know about that i'm sure my favorite quote is what is it um uh not loyalty but something is how you treat others when no one can see you what is that that quote oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah anyway but that yes same thing anyway i just have to say that he was i i had more than a couple interactions we had gone to the same school we both went to northwestern we had the same acting teacher but

And like at that school, you stay with one acting teacher the whole time. So it's like this thing. I wasn't the same year as him. But he just, he was, he, because I was always in an assistant capacity when he and I interacted. I have never, I've never talked to a person that has been so horrible to, yeah, that's all. You're saying before he was famous. No, no. No, no, no, no.

After famous. After famous. Oh. No. He like couldn't. And I was in an assistic capacity. There was one time I was on a desk for the producer of the company used to work for. And he called and he just, I'm going to say the guy's name was Brad.

He goes, he calls and he goes, get me, get me Brad. I was like, you know, hi, it's Brad. It's Brad's office. He's like, get me Brad. And I was like, oh, you know, I don't have him right now. Can I have him return? It's Zach. Get me Brad.

And I was like. I'm so upset right now. I can't. I was like, oh, I actually. I can't. $20. Steph's birthday stream was fun last night this morning was a little rough, though, worth it. I'm sitting here watching you guys with a bunch of greasy fast food.

Yeah, I definitely woke up with sprinkles, cupcakes, like, on my chest. Do you have any pictures of that for 500? No, I wish, but I did take my makeup off last night, and that was an accomplishment. it. My 5,000, I could tell you what it was like what Zach's really like. Oh, because I might be wrong. I could be wrong, guys. I stand corrected.

I could be wrong. I could be wrong, guys. I'm just saying how he treated me. And then there's, I have a couple of other interaction stories. None of them are nice. It sucks. It sucks. That being said, what I was trying to say was that I feel like him taking that kind

of thought, because he also did this movie, the last kiss that the company I worked for did. And he took the same care with that soundtrack. And I feel like using like really like great indie songs and movies and like I don't know. I feel like that really changed filmmaking in a lot of ways. I feel like we saw people take even more care with soundtracks post that soundtrack. But back to you, Bonnie. Being on the Garden State soundtrack. Back to your answer.

What's more money? Garden State or anything or like the television and movies. Right. Television. Yeah, for sure. I mean, the Garden State soundtrack was amazing. And it came at a time when that started coming in, I really needed it. So it was so helpful.

But that was, I was the only person on that album that, you know, wasn't signed. Do I mean? Like my percentage was the lowest. Everybody else made. I mean, I have a, we won the Grammy. So technically, I almost have an egot, basically. No, I'm kidding. But the people on that soundtrack like Coldplay,

and they made a lot more money because they had deals and they had, it was point. But still, it was huge for me for during a year, that I didn't acting was so tough. So how did you book that Bonnie unsigned? Are you allowed to say? You know I went out with Zach for a while, right? That was her boyfriend. I know nothing.

Now we know why you don't want to sing no scrubs, am I right? Hey! Look at Bonnie! Wow. Secure man bringing it in the room. Hey. That's how you level up.

Hold my fucking beard. Come here. Level up. Yes, but I was with him for a while for a long time. When the movie came out, we weren't together anymore. I'm sorry, I didn't know. Oh, no, no. It's up.

Dude, we're talking 20 years. I'm over it. Yeah. She found her person. I found her person. But I was, yeah. So I, he was extremely, he loved this song and he was so, I was so grateful. He was like, listen, I'm trying to pitch it.

You know, it was a song I had written when I first moved to L.A. It's about like being an act, struggling and having no money. And so he said, would you, you want to recut it and we'll try to, I'll try to get it on. I'll try to get the producers. And I recut it with the Chad Fisher, this amazing musician who sang the theme song and wrote the theme song for Scrubs. And he, and he, and we redid it and we recut it. And it's like, it's amazing. It's, it was an amazing experience to be, I'm on the page with Coldplay.

Paul Stein. I mean, it's crazy. Yeah. The person that I wrote it with, when I first moved to LA, his name is David Weisberg. I love him. Haven't seen him in 20 years. I was like, listen, do you want to redo that song? He hadn't heard from me in forever.

And I was like, remember that song we wrote? I said, we have to recut it. They'll give us a dollar to do it. They had to give you like some amount just to get, we had to get something. And he was like, no, I don't want to, no fucking way. And I was like, dude, I have, the song has been sitting around for 10, like, what are you talking about? It was 10 years old. I had to convince him.

and then look what happened. We got it on and then the rest is history. And I was like, you're kidding me? You won't give me that we wrote it together. You wouldn't agree to do it. I was like, dude, this song's 10 years old. Like, nobody's, you know, so it was awesome. And who knew?

Nobody knew that that was going to happen. So that was, that was pretty a spectacular. And I love, I love when people go, you're not that same Bonnie Somerville that's on my, on my iTunes. Are you? And you're like, no, like. Yes. I also love so many people love that song and I get letters from girls and people cover it

and people have said like it changed their lives or they were depressed, you know what I mean? Like people that get this, what it's about. That means the most to me when people tell me like that song saved my life or whatever. Like I just, it's unbelievable. Roxy, you should go into another room and put it on and see if it saves your morning. Yeah. I know the song very well. It's a, it was such a special song for me because I wrote it in such a hard time in my life.

So I was like, when I get those messages from people and they're like, you know, I suffer from depression and I feel like I just, that is nothing compares to that. Like that's course. But yes, TV residuals. Okay. Thank you, friends. Thank you. So everybody. You're welcome.

working with people and and all of that stuff. So I just think that this is kind of a story that's like near and dear to his heart. This is a character that when you think about Michael B. Michael B. Jordan was in Hardball, which is a movie I reference all of the time, because this is the first movie I ever cried in. It was a 2001 movie, with Keanu Reeves. So that's 2001, and then very quickly did I start watching him in The Wire after that, which he was a big, great part of. Like Sabrina mentioned, he has been around for a minute. and I think he's just very well trusted and respected by a lot of his peers at this point. So it was a matter of time, and he's talked for the last maybe five years. anytime I watch any of his interviews, because just to be fully transparent, I actually am a massive fan of his. Anytime I watch any of his interviews, he talks about wanting to direct, wanting to direct, so it's not surprising that he is directing this. I think it's a perfect thing for him to be directing. And despite RB3 with the face acting, which I don't think as much is about, I don't

think RB3 is saying he acts a lot with his face. He's calling him a face actor because he's saying he's a good-looking face. I think that that's the face. He's just saying he's a good looking dude who acts, not like a. Nah. Because he does the face. He's like, we're got to go. Like, you know.

He actually, RB3's impression. He's a true. RB3 call in. I've watched it really quick. R3 and I have gotten in this debate a million times, but he just says that he's like a face actor. He's just like this. Yeah, like it's instead of putting it in his body, he puts it just here. Just the face?

that would work? I mean I get it I get it I get for acting more than any other like craft in like the filmmaking process right because directing is probably the most impact like acting is probably the most impacted by the directing and vice versa. Like you don't have a movie

if you don't have actors. So they're really the most important part of the set, even more so than the director. That's why they get built first. And if you have trash acting, like, you know, you have a trash movie. That's just it.

Like, it's over. So, you know, that's a lot of onus to put on for an actor, like, as is. So I could see that making that transition and being in charge of that. And frankly, all the other stuff, you can figure out at other times. So, you know,

I really, I'm excited to see. Like, I actually, I think he'll be a good director because he's worked with great directors. Like, he's worked with Brian Coogler. He's worked with, um, he's worked with some other, like, really, really great directors. He had that HBO show, um, Fahrenheit 451. That's also a little bit in my beef, too. Fernhite 451 is my favorite book of all time. And that movie was horrible. Yeah. shifted into the limbo state we are in today. What do you take for retrospect? respectively of this past year. Wow. Was it announced as a pandemic? I thought it was announced as it's just nothing. It's going to go away like a miracle. Like a miracle. Two weeks.

Two weeks. I don't remember when they called a pandemic, but I do remember March 12th was my boys last day. It'll be gone. It's the, I think, yeah, today was the anniversary of it because it was like when the NBA announced they were shutting down,

and that's kind of the big thing that happened. Yeah. And then we were all in an uproar about Comic-Con maybe not happening. Yeah. We still thought the Shmowdown free-for-all would be happening. Oh, that Myers-Leonard, am I right? I think that if you don't leave this time with some introspective thought on how you wish to live your life, how you used to live your life, and the type of person you want to be, I don't know what you were doing because there was so much alone time that I think everyone was that way. So I think out of all the bad, there was some good in that sense.

Like, you know, you know that you want to be with people you love and you'll never take for granted and spending time with people you love. There's no point of doing a job that you don't like because they'll probably fire you anyways if it comes down to a pandemic. Like pursuing your passions, being around people you love, doing stuff for your body, mind and spirit that keeps you like uplifted, like learning some of those things. That's what I've been trying to do. I yeah to sort of echo that I would say that if you're if anybody is coming out of the saying like what that was no big deal it's because you did it wrong it's because you weren't listening it's because you did do over we'll get you another another pandemic stay home we'll go out but you stay mother nature being like wake the fuck up our environment is shit our politics are

I haven't seen a lot of my friends in a year. It's just crazy.

So coming out of all of this, I'm excited to just like lick all of your faces. Yeah. Yeah. When we're in studio, it'll happen. Yeah. Roxy, did you have anything you wanted to add to this? It looks like there's the wheels are really turning. I just had an amazing year of just, it was. It was. so good and fun and I just nothing that's the lozance right there that was I just had amazing that that's that's the lozinch I'm talking about I was unaffected I was affected and um nothing's strange cool cool I actually feel so guilty that I got engaged and met the love of my life during this year I know that actually is amazing you not feel guilty I had every there's like life is such a duality thing

The best thing ever, but it's like, we went into quarantine on date five. So it's like, hey, you want to do this together? And I think that a lot of people did that and found love. A lot of people broke up. There's a lot of divorces. Yeah. If you can get through this together. Yeah.

Especially when you just meet someone, you're good. But a lot of people found out that they weren't even with the right person because they had to be with them all the time. So it's like, but it's crazy. But it's just been unbelievable. Like, yeah, personal growth and journey learning for me. like beyond. Although I'm really upset

and I like those memes on Instagram where they say if you didn't learn a new language or learn to play an instrument or learn that I don't don't like don't beat yourself up, you know, because remember in the beginning I was like, I'm going to write script. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do that.

I mean, okay, I met the love of my life. That's good. But like I didn't do it happen what I said I was going to do. That's okay. We were in a fucking pandemic and everyone was dealing with some form of mental health issues.

I mean, I for sure. emotional and meant, yes, absolutely. Surviving is isolated. We're not meant to be isolated away from our family and friends, not being able to, like, have all our souls. We're tried species. Yeah. That's, I mean, we don't, people don't survive alone.

And that's so sad. I don't know. All of the goals I set for myself going into this, I did achieve. Like, I was like, I'm going to drink more than I've ever drank before and be able to hold them. I'm going to gain, I'm going to gain more weight than whenever when I was pregnant. I'm going to get a dixot to smoke weed every day.

I'm going to get into weed gummies. I'm going to do it all. And I did. Now I have to unlearn how to drink that much. I'm telling you this is my first week of being like, not going to drink every single night. See, that makes me feel better. That makes you feel better.

It's Thursday night. This will be Thursday night. And I've only had one beer since Monday. That's pretty good for me. Yeah. That's just quitting. That's just quitting. This is like to quitter.

To be, there are goals and then there are like goals. I know, I know this is a comedy show. And I know that this is ironic coming to the most hungover person in the room. But what I will say is that quarantine is not over yet. And so I do think that if you are somebody who did have goals, it's a really nice time to reassess because we're not out of this. And if there are things that you want to accomplish, you still can. It's not like, it's not like, okay, quarantine. quarantine's over and now shit I didn't accomplish them. So check back in with yourself because I

feel very lucky. I had a shit go at it during this time. I think like Kate talked about being alone during this time, being broken harder during this time and living by yourself and not seeing a face for months at a time. It was very challenging. But I did write my script. And, you know, I have been, like, auditioning more than I had been auditioning a year prior, which is so crazy. Like, I have, you know, I've just been really throwing myself out there. So I'm reassessing my goals and figuring out my priorities. But to anybody who went into this. 50 Shades of Geek donated $20. I hope everybody can, I don't think we know what our lessons were from this time yet because we're in this time still. We are still in the thick of this. So I just think like reassess in journal and I know again, I know this is not the show for this, but like take a little bit of time for yourself and figure out what it is that you do want to come

out of and what you do want to do moving forward because it's not too late and we're still in this. And even once we're not in this, it's still not too late. That's true. I actually forgot. Everyone's lost a parent, a child, a divorce. And how do you find your second act? And I think that's why it was so timely that I did it this, this, because I was. I was like, talk about a second act.

How many people are losing their jobs, their homes, everything right now. So it's all sorts of people on it. And I was actually thinking of doing one. It would be fun if we all did one together. Oh, yes. I mean, that'd be so fun, like, because I want people right to me, well, the few people

that are listening, I want some more people to follow me and download, but yeah, it's all about inspiring and how to find yours, how to find your next move. And this pandemic certainly has, I mean, certainly has made a lot of people do that. Hell yeah. Also, let's not forget, Raxi. You podcasted every day this entire, I mean, you did like.

Yeah, I'm coming up on 365 on Monday. That's amazing. Every day. I'm having a hard time trying to get going like one, because it's new for me. But I, that is, I respect that so much. I, everybody did something that they didn't think that they could do during this time. And that's all different levels of things. And so just whatever it is, I just really believe that people are stronger than they think.

And so like, Kate, I know you joke about it, but like, if what you want to do is drink less, then that's what you've got to set your mind to and you're going to do that. I don't want to. I mean, if for like your happiness and your well-being, because a lot of people, that's the one, that's the sticking point for a lot of people is the booze consumption during this time. And like as somebody who's been an addict in the past and once an addict, always an addict, not specifically with alcohol for me, but with pills, you guys know, I, it's so fucking hard when you're out in the world. are isolated and you and that's an escape for you guys. So a lot of you guys keep DMing me about this. And Kate, I'm not talking about you in particular because, no, but you do your thing.

But it's just when we get, you don't want to be a double loser coming out of this. I always talk about this concept that a mentor of mine taught me about because like going out of this, you still have to function as a human. Yeah. And so you don't want to come out of this and then have to conquer the drinking habits and then have to conquer the all those things you want to like as we're easing out of this ease back into the function of life which is like you know having a glass of wine with dinner but not like having a bottle of whiskey yeah not yeah not totally i never drank ever ever ever before the pandemic ever and i it was so it's just like being lazy and thinking oh this is normal it's not you know i think it's not normal but it's not

normal but part but I also have to say it was ripe for the taking for me at least because it was like I was not going anywhere at night so it wasn't like there was any risk of me getting in a car yeah I wasn't seeing anybody so and also I was with children all day long so I went to something that was felt very babies yeah I went to something that felt very adult every everybody would do the exact same thing Kate this is a zero judgment of course no no and for the record I part of the reason why I'm pulling out of it now is because I'm like, oh, I think we're going to start seeing people again. So, like, I've said, like, I've treated my house the same way I've treated my body, which is like, no one's going to see it.

Let's just let it fall apart. So I'm like, pretty soon we're going to be able to, not necessarily without masks, not necessarily, but like, someone's going to get to come in my house at some point. And I probably shouldn't have laundry in every single room that I haven't put away yet because I'm like, well, there's always tomorrow. And I shouldn't also have this body that's like supposed to, be more energetic than it is, but I keep pouring booze down my throat every night. Yeah.

So I feel like that's, that's sort of been the impetus for me, which is maybe not the right impetus. Maybe I should do it because it's like, I want to be healthier, but I'm like, no, someone's going to see me soon. Whatever the reason. There's no right or wrong impetus. Like when it's time to change, it's time to change. When it's time to grow, it's time to grow for whatever fucking reason that is.
