Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, I'm hosting my own show. I'm hosting my own show. Who would have thought? I'm back. Man, was a real pain in the rear end, literally. So we will discuss that, but that won't be the topic of our show. Dune, June 1, Dune 2. Dune 2 is easily my favorite movie of the year.
Starting point is 00:00:24 And I spoiled my number one on my top 10. I haven't released it yet. so the TV show started watching that i've watched more episodes of that than i have skeleton crew and i really enjoyed you so when i heard the rumor that they're going to make more movies i said okay cool denise on board right they said no i'm not so fast warner brothers apparently wants to do more dune but even if it comes without dene is that smart we'll discuss there's more things going on man wicked has been playing in my house nonstop and I'm sure part two
Starting point is 00:01:00 we'll be playing once it comes out but there's some new images that we'll discuss there Superman, one of the most watch trailers I think of all time something along those lines we've numbers to discuss that. Speaking of the DCU Batman, get our first
Starting point is 00:01:16 peak of him, Creature Commandos. So that and more on today's show with myself Mike Kalinowski and Steph Sabra all returning to try to defeat Winston and Roe who have been hosting the last three days. So we're hoping to beat them with some questions today.
Starting point is 00:01:35 So with that being said, let's get to it. Here we go. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the Christian Harlov show. It's myself and stuff. I haven't heard the new intro. I am a fan. Well, that's hilarious that you haven't heard the new intro because it's, it plays every single time.
Starting point is 00:02:08 But the reason why is because we're using Stream Yard this time. Because while I was out, Luke, he was able to set up this whole thing on Streamyard. My biggest problem with Streamyard was that they didn't have enough capabilities to actually be able to run the show with multiple layouts and sound and all that stuff. And Luke figured out a way to make that happen. They just did a bunch of updates. So it's easier to do. So now you can hear the things that are going on. and the sound and all those clips if I play things.
Starting point is 00:02:41 So I'm glad you liked the intro. I do. I feel like I'm a first time watcher, long time fan. That's fair. How are you doing? I'm good. I've had a great week. We did all of our like New Year's reorganizing.
Starting point is 00:02:57 The feng shui is higher than ever. Okay. So yeah, the vibes are high in the cossa. You ready for the vibe to get a little higher? Yes, yes. Oh, well. Oh, no. There he is.
Starting point is 00:03:11 How you doing, buddy? Yes. How's your microphone? No. In here. Just wonderful. Look at him. We started the show.
Starting point is 00:03:23 I mean, that's actually the best way, though, is like something to get him a little riled up. Let him just like start screaming in the background. He can clearly hear the both of us, but we can't hear him. So he's just kind of screaming in the background as his dogs are probably barking and lawnmowers going, nuts. So he's looking at him. He's a grouchy old man in the background, just trying to figure out how to get his microphone. Can you hear me now? Yeah. Yes. Fuck, man. Perfect. Welcome back. Well, what happened was because we don't usually use stream yard. So since the updates to the computer, I had to give permission to use stream yards. So I had to go into my settings on my computer and give it settings. Well, I'm glad you turn my light on. Hold on. But I'm happy that you figured that out. God. Damn it. Oh, hold on. Easy. There's a light here. Where's this? What is this? You're giving like, you're giving like, you're
Starting point is 00:04:08 like a soprano vibe right now that's horrible we gotta get that's my life stuff i need to get you like well if you can get in the camera like be actually in frame that would be great aren't you an actor i have people do this for me i don't do this myself that's right i just sit there and they make me look pretty well we're back and you know it's funny i'm back you guys are back i was out monday tuesday and wednesday roca all right now we're talking okay good roca and winston um ran the show for three days stuff were you you said you started this out with how great of a break you had right mine was atrocious okay well i started with the flu so i'm with you brother what happened uh more in the same so on christmas yep um i thought after my family left i started i said wow i really ate too much i had too much
Starting point is 00:04:59 i i ate too much i mean i had seafood to seafood pasta over i said i oh not feeling good so the toilet and I were friends for about eight hours on Christmas every hour on Christmas every hour every hour for eight hours and I was like I was like okay my voice like okay you got food poison good job knucklehead so next day I started coming out of it I'm like okay I feel all right I went back I worked on Friday I did capes and cows and I said all right I'm good um a little bit of headache but I was okay I figured that was just from the dehydration from throwing up and everything else that night. So then right as I'm wrap it up on Friday, my wife goes, I'm not feeling too good. So she got hit with the bed, this stomach. It was not food pork.
Starting point is 00:05:47 It was stomach flu. Then the kids get hit with it. I took the little one to a burger spot on, right before she got hit with it. And then the two, my wife's out of commission. I'm taking care of two kids that might as well been Linda Blair in The Exorcist every five seconds, Puk City, USA. They both have buckets. It's like, it's, it's, it's an, it's an, it's an, it's an, it's an, it's an, it's an absolute disaster. So they bounce back fairly quick within a day or two. My wife is just, just couldn't, and the kids are out of school.
Starting point is 00:06:23 So my wife couldn't do it. She couldn't move. She couldn't do it. She was just, it hit her the worst. at everybody she couldn't get out of bed she couldn't move i was taking care of the kids and then i'm like okay it's monday it comes monday i'm going into work i got to do some stuff she's like i i can't move so luckily enough winston and roca were able to do monday and then tuesday same thing wednesday same thing and just finally today like today i almost like she's she's better but not a hundred
Starting point is 00:06:48 percent i almost was like okay maybe i have to get those guys to do it again but i was like no let's let's see if we could make it work so um she's okay for now i like I saw it's funny because not everybody knew that. I saw people in the comment section, the great Ed Haskell, who they're friends, like, I'm surprised that he didn't put an Iron Man 3 reaction. I was like, that has not been shot. There's many things that have not been shot.
Starting point is 00:07:12 My best of, my most anticipated, about four days worth of work, not did not happen within those times. So I'm catching up on a bunch of shit. So that was my, that was my break. No, it's so bad. The almost same thing happened to my family. So I started with the flu and it started with a stomach flu and then it just went into the flu,
Starting point is 00:07:34 but it took me a full week. And I thought to myself, man, if I had a child in this home, there would be no care being done. There would be, I could do absolutely nothing. Yeah. And someone said it in the, in the comments. It's called the Nora virus is what I got hit with. It was, it was going around. Everybody's getting nailed with it.
Starting point is 00:07:55 But like, and of course, you know, my. my wife is just like, you brought this into the house. And I was like, perfect. And I get hit, I get hit. I'm the one who brings it in first. It never, it was the opposite. If they would have brought it in first, I don't get, I don't get the finger pointed. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Actually, I probably still would, even if it was the, even if it was the last one to get with it, I'd still get blamed. So you just, yeah, that's what you just, you have to deal with. You're the dad. Yeah. So anyway, so I do want to thank Winston and, um, and Roka for holding the fort down. for the three days because they really they they they were the whole reason that there was any material on this channel whatsoever and thank you to everybody who was uh contributing and
Starting point is 00:08:35 it doesn't change the fact though that the three of us want to beat them um they have yeah yeah they they had 72 on monday and then tuesday and wednesday i guess because everybody's holidays did they did okay but we we're going to beat that today guys we're going to get to at least 80 that's my goal do you do you agree stuff absolutely what are you talking about yeah uh the question Have you been doing this show for the last three months? No, I'm just like in such agreement with you. We have, we're, I was gone last week. You've been gone the last few days.
Starting point is 00:09:08 It's only right. And Mike and I are reunited. That's right, baby. Reunited and it feels so good. We have much, Mike, how was you? How was your break? You probably had a good Christmas. Do you like Christmas?
Starting point is 00:09:20 I do, but I work, like it's for my work, that's the busiest time. So it's been, I'll tell you what messed me up was, Thanksgiving being so late. I lost a week, it feels like. Yeah. Because, you know, I usually Thanksgiving, then I go see Nate out in Texas for a week. And then I came back and I had like two weeks and I was like, oh, I'm under the gun here. And on top of that
Starting point is 00:09:38 work is crazy. But it was good, you know? Yeah. Good. Good. Well, I'm glad to be back here. No sickness. So that's good. Yeah. Well, I'm glad to be back here with you guys at the very least. So let's get into some of these stories
Starting point is 00:09:54 because we have quite a few. We have quite a few. So here is the first story. Oh, why is Steph there? Hi. I don't want you to read the stories. Why is my... I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Oh, I know why. I know why. That's why now it should work. Okay, let's try this. Ready? There we go. Okay. So Warner Brothers is apparently planning
Starting point is 00:10:20 more Dune movies with or without Denis Villanue. We now know that Dune Messiah is on the way, but a new rumor is claiming that Warner Brothers intends to move forward with at least one more movie, with or without, director, Deney. Ed, I can't do anything about it. Don't worry about it.
Starting point is 00:10:40 We knew Dune Messiah is on the way, but a new rumors claiming. Dune and Dune 2 director has stated that he has no intention of helming any more movies in the franchise after his planned Dune Messiah adaptation, but that doesn't mean Warner Brothers will stop making them. According to Scooper, Daniel Rickman, and backed up by a report of World of Real, the studio is planning to move forward with at least more Dune movie in a second TV series. HBO Dune Prophecy was not acclaimed as the films,
Starting point is 00:11:07 but it reportedly did pretty well from a viewership standpoint. The first two movies were big successes, but a fourth chapter would still be somewhat surprising, giving the director Frank Robert's Saga going into the second book. Villeneuve has shown little interest in adapting to the later novels, Children of Dune and God, Emperor of Dune, as he feels the story starts to become esoteric. According to World of Real Source,
Starting point is 00:11:29 the filmmakers was rather irked by the potential plans to expand the franchise with or without him. How would you feel about the Dune franchise continuing after Messiah with another director at the help? Let us know in the comment section down below and check out an impressive fan-made poster from Messiah. This is Messiah. That's kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Look at. You see that stuff? Yeah, it looks really cool. Pretty cool. All right. So let's the idea that this is a, well, first of all, have you guys watched June, the, this TV show stuff? How, how, did you watch the whole thing? Yeah. And what do you, what do you think this for? I, I liked it. At first, it was a slow start and I was a little bit nervous. If I was, I wasn't finding myself super excited to get to the next episode. And then I bow episode four, I feel like it picked up for me. And it ended with enough, like, intrigue where I'm like, okay, I'm glad they got a second season. I think there's a lot there that I like.
Starting point is 00:12:32 And Mike, what about you? I have not. But I'm curious because I was talking with this about someone the other, talking with someone about this the other day. And, you know, like you guys were totally on board with Dune 2 and the first one and everyone loved it. Like, I don't hear a lot of talk about this show. Yeah. It doesn't seem like it's taking over like a penguin or something else. So I figured with that many people loving the films,
Starting point is 00:12:56 I didn't even know there was a second season already of it. So. Well, there was not a second season yet. Well, and was this 10,000 years before the movies, right? This is 10,000 years before. But like that, no, I think that what it is, look, the two, there's two things to this. First of all, the series itself, I don't disagree with you, Mike, that it's not, it doesn't have the kind of buzz that,
Starting point is 00:13:13 the movie did, but also the, the first movie did good. It didn't do, like, great, right? And it's also because the first movie, the 1984 Lynch movie, It wasn't a movie that everybody was running around saying that's one of the best movies of all time. And even though the book itself was essentially the reason we have Star Wars and other things too, it wasn't in the pop culture, zeitgeist, the way that other things were. It was the fact that one started to find a life on streaming and then two became something else. You know, it didn't hit a billion dollars, but it was very, it was successful.
Starting point is 00:13:52 But the series, I didn't think the series was going to be like a Game of Thrones or a one of these shows, like Penguin. I just didn't think it was going to happen. But I really enjoy it. And I'll tell you, I was watching one of the episodes last night before I went to bed. And I kept getting, I keep getting messages from people asking me, you got to watch Skeleton Crew. It's really good. It's really good. You got to check it out.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Have you watching it? I was like, I would rather watch Dune. I have no interest in Skeleton Crew. I might watch it. Eventually, I don't know. But I don't. When I was watching this episode of Dune and I was like, oh, this kind of feels like almost like a Hoth feel of the way they made that feel. And like I'm like, oh, and then I started getting this like, fomo of what I hoped like they could approach Star Wars like this.
Starting point is 00:14:37 And I'm like, I don't do that. Just watch Dune and enjoy Dune for what it is and realize that let people enjoy whatever the hell they're doing now with Star Wars and let them do it. But Steph, two questions. One, what were your overall thoughts of the? series leading into, you know, do you think that they have really captured it? And two, have you been watching Skeleton Crew? Uh, yes, I with Skeleton, you're just talking about skeleton crew in general or do, okay, yeah, Skeleton Crew, I really liked the first two episodes. And I was like, this is super fun. It's obviously more geared towards a younger generation.
Starting point is 00:15:15 And if I was in that generation, I would think this is so, so fun. And I still think that. still think if I was younger, I would love it. It's gotten a little less, I feel like it's gone more in that direction as the episodes have progressed. And that isn't as much for me. Like, I don't like when I feel like we land on a planet, have this like huge task and we can accomplish it in what feels like 30 minutes. That to me takes me out of a show, but I completely, if I was a kid, I wouldn't have
Starting point is 00:15:49 noticed that. But it's good. It's cute. I think it's well, well done, and I like the acting in it a lot. So there's a lot to love in it. It just is,
Starting point is 00:15:58 it's not like mind blowing for me. Yeah. It's like I just keep having it. And step out of this to say that I guess is there, can you turn, are you able to turn your mic volume down a little bit? I have been putting it down. Apparently yours is louder than my,
Starting point is 00:16:11 okay. And I know I'm trying to get the new roadcaster. I'm trying to rework mine to. Yeah, I have a new roadcaster or, yeah, I have a new roadcaster that one of the fans got us that I'm going to set up soon but um okay hopefully that that helps um yeah let us know yeah i just last night and i sat down
Starting point is 00:16:28 i said what should i watch is i do i want to watch dune or should i catch up with skeleton crew and i just had no urge i just don't care about that show i just don't and i don't care about the show is like i just don't really care about star wars right now it's like and or when and or comes back i'll watch and or and i'll check out but i like i i just don't think like it's everyone i can't tell you i don't i don't see anybody saying anything bad about it was like it's so much fun you're going to love you're I'm going on so much fun. I won't love it because I just don't care about it right now. I might enjoy it, but I just, I don't, I don't really want to watch it. I will watch, I will finish Dune though.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I'm very excited to finish that show. And there's a few other things that I want to check out. But yeah, Mike, have you went back to the Skeleton Crew at all? I haven't even started still. Skeleton Crew. Yeah. I'm like you. I just, after so many, you know, and if the previous shows it hit for me, I probably would be 100%
Starting point is 00:17:20 watching it right away, but I'm just like, eh. Yeah. I, and I don't know if I ever will get to it, which is fine. I mean, it's okay. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's cute. I think if you're doing laundry, it's a cute show. Yeah. And Jude Law is super fun in it. Yeah. Let me address the audience. I know, and I know everybody's being helpful. So I, we did what we could with the adjustments on camera and everything too. I do not have an engineer. got to understand that. I don't have an engineer. So I don't have anything to where, like, the mics, and I know you guys are just being helpful. I understand it. But like, I have to get this roadcaster set up, the new one. I don't have any time to do anything.
Starting point is 00:18:05 I have no time to do anything. So I will eventually get this roadcaster set up. Hopefully, someone can help me set up the actual audio levels. But you can, you know, all day long, you can write stuff like this. Like I feel like Steph's, Mike's perfect. Mike's a low. I'm aware. I'm aware.
Starting point is 00:18:25 And I appreciate you guys being helpful. I just can't do anything about it. I can smash this with a fucking hammer, if you'd like. I can smash the roadcaster with a hammer and then not do shows. Because that's where I'm at right now. Anyway, so Dune coming out is going to be, the movies themselves is the bigger question, right?
Starting point is 00:18:49 I understand this on, I understand this on Warner Brothers part. You want to do a, you want to do IP. You want to build out your IP. You have, if people are enjoying the show, if people are in, obviously, you got a potential Oscar nominee in Dune. So why wouldn't you? But if Deneas pissed off about it, that's a problem. Offer the guy at producer credit.
Starting point is 00:19:18 I get he's not going to be able to direct it. He might not be able to. He might not want his whole career to be Dune, Dune 3, Dune 4, Dune 5. I understand that. But don't cut him out. That's bad news. That's a real bad news. Mike, even though you're not a huge fan of it, are you on my page or not?
Starting point is 00:19:38 So they're trying to cut him out? Like, I don't understand that. They're just like, hey, we're going to go ahead without you, even though you don't want to do it. More or less. Like, we're going to have him on board is. He's got to be a producer. It's got to be a producer. something because he was the reason you got Dune now that the fans love it.
Starting point is 00:19:53 And if you don't, you're going to run into a Nolan situation where you pissed him off. And he's like, all right, I'm going to do my other film somewhere else next time. Can you hear me? Yeah. Yeah, I can hear you. I just think, you know, and look, I mean, so Dune, Dune's Warner Brothers, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:09 They lost Nolan because they pissed him off. Right. And this is your other big filmmaker. You piss him off. You're in trouble, man. And WB is in a bad spot. Like, you know, you know, they don't, they did the whole thing with, hold on a second. So what, like they did that with Eastwood.
Starting point is 00:20:23 They pissed him off. And with the juror, like, yeah, we're not going to release your film. It's going to be in 50 theaters. You're one of the greatest filmmakers and actors of all time. But F you, old man. Like, yeah. What are they doing over there? It seems like they just, I mean, they, they make these decisions that again, I understand the
Starting point is 00:20:41 decision of saying, hey, we got Dune, we own Dune. Deney doesn't own Dune. We should do, we should, we should, we should, we. should make it. Now, to be fair to Warner Brothers here, we also don't know the conversations that they had. Maybe they had those conversations. Hey, Denny, we want to do more Dune movies. We know you don't want to direct, but we'd like to have you on as a producer. And if he says, no, I don't want anything to do with it anymore, I'm done. Do they have to say, oh, okay, well, he doesn't want to do it, then I guess we shouldn't do it then. That's a different conversation,
Starting point is 00:21:16 because, well, hey, we reached out to him. We asked them to produce. We asked them to direct. He said, no, we understand. We asked them to produce. He said no. We asked them to consult. He said no.
Starting point is 00:21:26 So what are we just not going to do it? Because Deni doesn't want us to do it. That's a different situation. Yeah, sure. But we just don't know that. We don't know. Do you feel the same there? Yeah, I can completely understand why they want to move forward with the story.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Because if you haven't even, if you don't know all the. books or even if you have read all the books there is a lot more to explore so it feels like it's not necessarily the cash grab that you might think it is where you're like oh you of course you go on just want to make more it's like they've just introduced an entire galaxy so i think there is a lot of fairness in that wanting to explore that but i i with you guys i think that they have to invite uh involved in any way that they can get him but i also get him being annoyed if he thinks that the stories are kind of done for now and they like he doesn't I I empathize with him but I'm also like I hope that if they do move forward he's involved in some
Starting point is 00:22:30 capacity I would also just from the I mean obviously you want the quality of it he knows the world right well you know right he knows the world so well and it's like even though I'm enjoying I'm enjoying the um story of of doom prophecy even what mike said before isn't this take place like 10,000 years before. I think it's silly that it takes place 10,000 years before and all the same, and all the same, it's the same names. It's the same technology. It's funny you say that.
Starting point is 00:22:57 It made me think of, like, yeah, you're kind of disconnected with it. But like if they did in Star Wars 10,000 years before, which we thought were like the acolyte, I'm on board for that. Like,
Starting point is 00:23:08 it's just, but I think because I'm invested in the Star Wars world more than with Doom, but. Well, but dude, it looks great. It's all that. It's just 10,000 years you say, and is it enough that it takes me out of the show? No. But like all the same, like Atreides and Arkins and all them, they're all the same names.
Starting point is 00:23:25 And it's like after 10,000 years, the same families. And like even though when they talk about Iraqis, they talk about the same, it's like the spice and all that. It's like 10,000 years, nothing has really changed at all. So. But, you know, that's a small, that's a smaller thing to see where they're going to go overall. I think there is a world there. There's no doubt about it. No doubt about it.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Anyway, so I guess I ask you guys, what do you think about this? Do you think that this is going to be something that they should do? Should they continue making June, even if Denny doesn't want to do it? Does it matter if Denny said that they offered him all this stuff and still he said no? What say you? Put your thoughts in there. We want to know. All right, we have some more stories.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Oh, you know what? Before we get to stories to let you guys know. as I said all week, one of the reasons that we're able to keep the show going continuously is because of our sponsors. And this week, Rocket Money has been holding it down. Mustard! Oh, not mustard. Rocket Money is going to tell you, I'm going to tell you about Rocket Money.
Starting point is 00:24:32 And I'll tell you why they're so great. I've told you about Rocket Money, guys. And the reason why for Rocket Money was so important is that I, for a long time, I used to do these things where I'd be on my phone and I'd start searching for these apps. I'm like, oh, okay, yeah, I'll sign up. Oh, for free? Yeah, it's free for now. But then it's going to be $20, $30 a month and you forgot that you're even paying it. And I said, oh, well, this Rocket Money lets you know about what subscriptions that you have that you're not paying attention to. It can cancel subscriptions for you. It really is amazing. And it just,
Starting point is 00:25:02 it just cuts so much time out of my schedule. And I love it because you don't even know how much you're paying the subscriptions. And you're probably paying way more than you think. Because over 74% of people have subscriptions they've forgotten about. And I definitely, I can tell you that right now. Like there was a couple of, I'm telling you some of these apps. I tried some of these apps. I'm like, oh, shoot, I forgot all about it. You think you spent around 62 per month on subscription, something like that.
Starting point is 00:25:24 But it's close to about 300. It goes about 300 a month because Rocket Money is also, it's a personal finance app, and it finds it cancels your unwanted subscriptions. It monitors all of your spending, and it helps lower your bills so you can grow your savings. Everyone that's using 500 million in cancel subscriptions. It saves about $740 a year. It's great. So stop wasting money on things that you don't use. You just cancel your unwanted subscriptions.
Starting point is 00:25:48 You go to rocketmoney.com slash thing. Rocketmoney.com slash thing. Very easy. Rocketmoney. com. All right. Thank you to rocketmoney. com slash thing.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Rocket money. I love rocket money. I've been using them forever. I'm really hoping you guys are signing up. Not only are you going to help out the show, but you guys are going to really get yourselves settled in knowing what the hell is happening with your finances. make sure you check that out.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Okay. So let's get to the next story because we have a couple of really good ones here. And this one I got to ask Mike about because yesterday when we were trying to think of what we're going to lead the show with, Luke sent me a thumbnail. And he had me, Steph and Mike on it saying, oh, new image of the leader. My response was, what the hell is the leader? I didn't know what that was. And then he said, it's the guy from the first Hulk movie. It's like, oh, yeah, the thing that drips on his head.
Starting point is 00:26:47 I get it. He's like, that's our main story. I don't think so. But there was nothing going on. Some newly revealed Captain America Brave New World promo art finally gives us an official look at Tim Blake, his Nelson, Tom, Nick and Nelson's comic accurate leader, while similarly highlighting Captain America and Red Hulk. We're roughly six weeks away from Captain America, Brave New World, arriving in theaters,
Starting point is 00:27:12 across the globe and another round of promo art has just found its way online. That finally gives us an official look at Tim Blake Nelson's MCU return. As the leader, and despite wearing a relatively grounded costume, the villain otherwise looks like he steps straight from the pages of the comics. There are some familiar shots of Sam Wilson as Captain America and plenty of awesome shots of Red Hulk rampaging into action. It's still a little strange to think that the Brave New World is focusing on two of the Hulk's greatest foes will be shocked. Bruce Banner doesn't have some sort of role to play here. At the very least,
Starting point is 00:27:47 it feels like Marvel Studios is setting the stage for that long-awaited World War Hulk project. Last September, Nelson shared some insights just how much of an impact Captain America, Brave New World reshoots have had on what we'll see in the theaters next month. Well, we're done. I've shot it, he explained. I've actually shot it twice because I did originally a year ago, then we came back and we did a lot of it at the beginning. the summer every single movie I hopefully do makes it better I I probably done around 60 movies in between Hulk and Captain America Brave new world so there's so dozens of increments of improvement it was a great challenge and I was guided beautifully by Julius Ona who was an indie director These are real directors who want to work with real actors and give them the opportunities to play outlandish characters Marvel supports that
Starting point is 00:28:31 Check out the new real Captain America promo art. There it is Okay, let's see some of that stuff there but all right so this is the leader areas up top um mike so explain to me what the hell is a leader it's uh samuel stearns is the character so it's just it looked really cool like in that shot and i read an article or he he had a quote a couple weeks or maybe months ago where it's all prosthetics they weren't doing cg i he wanted to be on set having it on his head and and letting that kind of inform his acting. So that's kind of cool. It looks cool. I mean, hey, we'll see what we got. I just feel with this film, I mean, you got him, you got the Red Hulk, you got, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:16 Giancarlo Esposito's character is a bad guy. Oh man, that's a lot going on to this movie and just hearing, and again, you never know what to believe in as far as hearing that they reshot pretty much the whole movie and the constantly, I think they were just doing reshoots like up to last month in L.A. I don't know, man. Reshoes, of course, are always on a film, but two months before it releases. Well, yeah, there's been a lot of reports stuff that this one's been in trouble. The first test screening, obviously, for the first version of this one, not so great,
Starting point is 00:29:48 so they basically shot a whole new movie. Then there's reports that they reshot it. They put out the trailers, and they screened it, and it didn't do well, so they're reshooting again. This movie's going to cost $7 billion before it comes out. What do you think overall? First of all, the first question is, are you excited for Captain America Brave New World? And if so, do you have any worries about this? What do you think?
Starting point is 00:30:09 I want this movie to be so good because I just feel like I really love a lot of the people involved in it. I want Marvel to get a win. I feel like they've taken some time. And it'd be nice to see if this was, you know, one of those projects where that's represented and the direction they're going to be going in. And I obviously never root for a movie to lose. but I do get apprehensive when I hear things like the whole thing has been reshot. I think that can be really great or it could be as it sounds,
Starting point is 00:30:41 which is a little bit disastrous. And I agree with Mike. Like clearly there's so much going on. Like a red Hulk is enough for me to be like, whoa, you guys are crazy. But the whole, there's so many things like that where I'm,
Starting point is 00:30:55 I just am curious how it's going to come together on screen. I'm just, I'm just very curious if it's going to, I mean, at this point, I don't know you were going to real figure how much this movie costs overall, but you got to guess it's going to be somewhere in the four to 450 range
Starting point is 00:31:13 with two movies that are basically being shot. But so the idea that it's actually ever going to make money is probably slim to none, but I think they understand that kind of going in. The question is, how much will it lose? Because it can't, it can't, it may be able to break even, but this movie can't make money.
Starting point is 00:31:29 And they don't expect it to. They expect it to just be able to make up enough that they can to get it to Thunderbolts to get it to Fantastic Four to get it to Avengers. That's what they're hoping. Just pass the ball, make enough that we made up, you know, the re-shoes. Maybe we can break even on this thing if we're lucky.
Starting point is 00:31:43 I mean, just hearing you say that, it is such a change. Yeah. Like, you know, from what they were to what this is like, oh, let's just hopefully we can make it to this final one. And I mean, again, I don't want to, At what point does the goodwill not exist anymore? Where, like, Star Wars, it carried you through so many,
Starting point is 00:32:06 and then the MC was so good for so long, and your goodwill only goes so far. But then to see, like, every news event lately for the Avengers is, Scarlet Johansson's back, she's back, the he's back, like all the originals, just like, it seems so desperate to me. And I, you know. They're in a desperate phase right now. It sucks, though.
Starting point is 00:32:28 that's like we're going to see everybody back that whose death meant something in endgame to but they're going to be variants and they're going to who gives you shit it's the actor coming back into the role right like it's really kind of like they didn't really I don't think they gave phase four and phase five the people that they were putting for like Shangchi moon night the chance to like come into their own and carry on
Starting point is 00:32:52 the torch they're just like well we're going back to the old torch cares yeah it's hard though it's hard to do that I think you give him a shot. The Shang-chi aspect of it is a little bit head-scratcher because the idea, that movie did pretty decent, considering that it came out, it was like either the last release before or it was like, maybe the first release in the theater,
Starting point is 00:33:13 it was like the first release in the theater after the pandemic, and they knew it wasn't going to do as well, but for what they wanted it to do at that point, it did pretty well, but they were setting it up, and then they just kind of abandoned. Like, I never heard a damn thing about Shang-chi, where's he where's he been right you know they probably show up in the avengers and have like a couple of scenes but it's like really so that's that's that's pretty that's pretty bad so you're not they
Starting point is 00:33:37 they can't really get they i agree with you mike they didn't really give him time to shine um and as far as moon night i don't i just don't think that the series was received well enough so where they were like okay that's a given but i figure with oscar isaac in the role you like all right let's just kind of sweat that show into the rug and we're going to have it pop up he'll show up but it's but yeah but they're going to have to rely on old faithful because they're just it's just not um yeah just not working um i don't know i ask you guys you know what do you think about this do you think that captain america do you think that it's it's going to be any good do you think that the the leader is going to be enough of a villain that that's another problem that marvel had for a long time and
Starting point is 00:34:20 then kind of got out of that with the villains it's like okay we have Thanos now we have killmonger we got some pretty good villains and then are they going back to some villains are like is it is it going to be terrifying at all how does he lead up leading into avengers i don't know i'm curious what you guys think um step do you know what's been going on at my house besides sickness what oh oh every five minutes in my house every five minutes in my house my daughter well my 13 old was already pretty obsessed with it so she found this thing i don't know was instagram or whatever it was on new year she said oh if you start watching it this time right at new years Cynthia Revo will do oh and lead us into the new year so she's like I I got I got to
Starting point is 00:35:06 get it when it comes out dad I'm like that's that's fine we can do that and so right as I were figuring out that I was going to get it for my little one finally decides my she is the most picky thing she never wants she wants to watch the same shit over and over and over again my little one like she so my friend Cooper Barnes who I've known for a long time. He was on this, he's on this Nickelodeon show called Henry Danger.
Starting point is 00:35:30 And it's actually a really funny show. I don't know if anybody's ever, ever seen it, but it's a good show for the kids. And my oldest watched it for a long time. And then my little ones started getting into it, but she, I'll show, she watched, Henry Danger, the Thundermans,
Starting point is 00:35:48 Jesse, all this shit over and over and over again. And I try to, she, you might as well have been thinking, I was trying to get her to watch the wild robot. And you might as well thought I would ask her to watch Apocalypse Now. It was like she wouldn't watch it. Nobody would watch it in my house. I couldn't get him to watch it.
Starting point is 00:36:07 The Wild Robot, which is probably one of the best movies of the year. Yes. Wouldn't watch it. So in the same thing. So my oldest was trying to get the little one to watch Wicked. And she's like, I don't want to watch that. So after hanging out during, you know, basically quarantine last week, they started singing the songs and listened to it on Spotify and so my little one wanted to watch it
Starting point is 00:36:27 so on new year's i guess on the 31st new year steve she woke up first started watching it without the oldest which pissed her off and then they and then they rewound it and watched it again and then they practiced all the songs and did everything so like wicket's been playing everything did you guys see the easter egg in the beginning of wicked too did you notice that stuff no we so if you see in the beginning this is this is how much this is how how how much I know about Wicked now. I didn't know anything about Wicked. The very beginning of Wicked when you go to and let me I'm going to, you know what I'm going to do, I'm going to put a, because I know Luke will probably want to make a short out of this. In the very beginning of Wicked
Starting point is 00:37:06 as this, as it's starting and you see, right before you see Dorothy and you see the Tin Man and the Lion, the Walk in Oz, you see the monkeys flying over by a castle. And right as they're flying by you hear a horse and on the horse is someone on a hood riding into the castle and people are speculating that that is uh that is indeed alpha oh that's the speculation that's the speculation so okay i didn't notice that so if you go and you look it now when you watch wicket in the very beginning it's again easter eggs that i'm finding from watching this movie a thousand times yeah um so that's uh that is something that i would say to for people to check out you can go and check check that in the very beginning i actually took footage i'll send it to luke anyway so the reason i bring
Starting point is 00:37:59 all that up is there's speaking of wicked too wicked too there it is right now you got the wicked is it called wicked for good is the second okay well footage reveals new looks for cynthia erie alfaba and ariana's grande's glinda the first footage from which its sequel, Wicked for Good, has leaked online and it features a sneak peek at the new looks for Cynthia Revo's Alphaba and Ariana Grande's Glinda. See them both in action here. With over $640 million at the worldwide box office, Wicked has become the highest grossing Broadway adaptation ever.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Fortunately, as the sequel was shot back to back with the first half of this iconic story, we don't have to wait long before Wicked for Good sweeps into theaters. It's likely to even be bigger, hit, and be shocked if Universal Pictures isn't already plotting various spin-offs and expansions of the musical. The studio has, however, cut Wicked off at the knees by making it available on digital so soon. I don't agree with that.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Look at Five Nights of Freddy. Regardless, a first look at the Wicked sequel has found its way online today thanks to the special features included with the digital version of the movie. Both Cynthia Rivas Alphabet and Ariana Grande's Glinda have been aged up since we saw them last in a rocking new looks.
Starting point is 00:39:12 Both leads also tease the evolution of their respective characters with Arivo, sharing her excitement to also explore Alphabas in her darkness. A time jump follows the Broadway version of those stories, and those who have seen it will know things are going to get crazy from here. Last year, John Shue was asked about the possibility of The Wizard of Oz's Dorothy being part of Wicked. For good in the show, Dorothy is around. The filmmakers started they have to intersect. You can only tease it so much.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I won't say whether she's a character necessarily in movie two. There's a part of me that wants everybody's Dorothy, whatever Darth of you they want, and yet there is an interaction and some crossover, so I'll leave that up to you. So let me see. I'll find those pictures in just a second. But Steph, how much did you love it?
Starting point is 00:39:55 Oh, I'm obsessed with Wicked. It's like a sickness. It's become a personality trait. Like there's a group of us where it's a personality trait, and I get that we're insufferable. But it is coursing through my veins at all times of the day. It has completely taken over my Spotify. I am, I just am so excited for the second one.
Starting point is 00:40:18 And I, I love that it's like every, I don't know, it just feels like a lot of people, I get if it's not your favorite movie, but most people like it. And it's like fun to see something that's not so divisive. That makes people really happy. Yeah. So let's show you some.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Have you seen the pictures yet, stuff? Yes. Oh, you have seen them. Okay. So here's some of them, because it was acting weird. It wasn't planned. playing in full time, so it's nice to see it stop.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Yeah. Yeah, okay, sassy. Yeah, sassy indeed. Yes. Mike, have you seen this yet? Yeah, I did. What you're just showing us or wicked? No, the movie.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Yeah. And what did you think of the movie? I, like, okay, so I knew the story. I didn't read the book or see the show. And a bunch of our friends were going, a bunch of our gentlemen friends in West Hollywood that always go see movies together. And Shannon and I were kind of like,
Starting point is 00:41:12 yeah, we're excited to see it, but more for going with the group. This was like their end game, Avengers end game for them. Right, right. And I, like, it's funny because we were joking, because we went, there's like 50 of us. And we're in the back row. And I was like, oh, I'm going to put the straight people in the back here. I see how this is. It's a joke, but then Shannon looks over me and I'm bawling.
Starting point is 00:41:36 There's twice in that movie, I am bawling. bawling like that scene where they're doing the dance and touching his faces bawling like ugly dude tears yeah i loved it i loved it i think i thought it was great i thought yeah i yeah yeah so i enjoyed it so i'm excited for the second one yeah i think second one's i think the second one's going i think the second one's going to make you more money than the first one obviously because it's becoming more and more of a thing but i but i did disagree with um it getting cut off at the knees because the the the people who who really want to see this movie again in the theater,
Starting point is 00:42:12 they're going to go for the theater experience because they see it. My daughter is an example of that. She's already seen it on digital, a bunch of it. She wants to go back to the theater and watch. She wants to sing along with it. So people who have seen it already are the ones who are going to go back to see it in the theater. So I don't think this is a different circumstance.
Starting point is 00:42:28 And I think that they're aware of that. So you're saying that you don't think this cuts them off at the knees. You're saying, yeah, I agree with that. I think that I'm going to go back to the theater. I know they're doing like a single long release. I'm going to probably do that too. And I bought it at home. But I know there's people like my mom who's just so busy couldn't get herself to the theater.
Starting point is 00:42:50 But she bought it the first day was available on at home. It's just different market. Yeah. And I think, look, and it's and it's and it's also by the way, people are buying it more so than renting it. And I mean, it was like 30 bucks to freaking buy it. And I was like, look, I, I'm going to, I'm going to take the hit on this one. because I know that it's going to get played enough. Sometimes you buy movies and it's like, especially in digital.
Starting point is 00:43:15 What am I paying 20? No one's ever going to watch this ever again. Right. It's already even played more times in the house than most of the things that I've bought. You know, it's like it's consistently on. And I told you, I found Easter eggs and all this other shit. Anyway. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Okay. So, hey, Steph, I don't know if you knew this, but your microphone's a little high. Okay. So. Oh, it's just okay. Just let you know. it's a little loud. It's like on volume three on, I mean, on my
Starting point is 00:43:42 roadcaster. I'm just going to let you know that every time. Okay. Thank you. Can you yell it at me next time? I'll let you know every five minutes. Okay. Okay. So here's the next story and then we're going to, right now we stand to 24 questions. We're looking to beat Mike and Mike. We're looking to beat
Starting point is 00:43:59 Rocha and Winston and trying to beat them at 72. We're at 24 currently. So there's any questions in general that you guys want to um you know throw in there throw them in there whatever it is we'll answer um okay so let's get to this next topic and mike this is again something kind of right up your alley man james gunn talking batman and the dc u's introduction and skipping the origin story teases world's finest plans dc studios boss and superman director james gunn has discussed
Starting point is 00:44:34 Batman's introduction and Creature Commandos and teachers' future plans for the Cape Crusader in the DCU and a possible Superman team up. In today's episode of Creature Commandos, Batman makes his DCU debut to take down Dr. phosphorus. We don't see the two heroes in action, but it is still an exciting glimpse at Gotham City's Dark Night, which you can take a closer look at. Bro, the Brave and the Bold doesn't appear to be going anywhere. Fast and speculation continues to run rampant about the Batman's Bruce Wayne.
Starting point is 00:45:04 played by Robert Pattinson being brought into the DCU. In interview discussing Creature Commandos' penultimate episode, James Gunn talked about the decision to introduce Batman in animation before he gets his own movie. When they gave it to me, we saw a lot more Batman, the filmmaker revealed. I would say I'm not ready to commit to that. I'm not ready to commit to that. I'm not ready to commit to that.
Starting point is 00:45:23 So I was like, more silhouette. It's a great way to show that Batman does exist. He already exists in the universe, just like when we come to the Superman movie and we see that Superman already exists and is already known by the people of Metropolis. We don't need to hear the origin story again. That's just a way to introduce that Batman is a part of this universe.
Starting point is 00:45:39 He's an important part of this universe and he has an impact on it, including defeating such pretty dangerous, scary people like Phosporus, who's pretty tough. Ask specifically which Batman it is that we're seeing. Gunn chose his words very carefully when he responded, it's the DCU Batman, quickly changing the subject. The Superman director and DC Studios executive dropped some world's finest crumbs by pointing out, I love Batman. I've loved him since I was a little kid. It's one of my favorite characters. We're going to do great things with him. He's the most popular superhero in the world,
Starting point is 00:46:11 and I can't wait for people to see more of him along with Superman and together. While work isn't progressing on the Brave and the Bold or the Batman, too, as quickly as fans would like, Clayface is being released in theaters next year, and that would be the perfect opportunity to introduce the DCU's Bruce Wayne. Batman showing up even for a cameo would also increase interest. in that project. Who do you think should play Batman? Yody, y'allie, y'all. Okay, Mike, we ever really discussed, man, because there's been a lot of stuff going on with the Batman, as they mentioned in this article, right? The bat, yeah, and I think I saw your tweet where you're, you're kind of on the page that I think myself and Winston were at, where it's like, at this point, maybe the Reeves thing,
Starting point is 00:46:55 bless you, maybe the Reeves thing just isn't happening right now. Maybe it shouldn't happen. Should they fold this into the DCU so i want to get your thoughts on about that whole scenario then there's the andy mushietti stuff to say no you know it's it's it's pushed back a little bit the brave and the bold and then james gunn says that's not the case it hasn't been pushed back at all uh and now you get this whole introduction of batman into the DCU what do you make of all this uh well first of all yeah the reef stuff i i don't know then i i saw some other things and and maybe it's like personal issues someone had said. So you never know.
Starting point is 00:47:32 You don't know what. I just feel, and again, even gun came on and said like, well, you know, there was 15 years between the Incredibles. It's like, that's different though.
Starting point is 00:47:40 This is like, you ended that film on a cliffhanger kind of, set it up saying, hey, we're going right again with the next one, and it's going to be two other films, and it's the story I want to tell.
Starting point is 00:47:51 It's a trilogy. So it's like, you've put it out there for everybody. And the fact that it keeps, you know, a full year now, it's like and now people are I mean again I I'm never of the one like oh by an actor's actual age as opposed to what they're playing the film but Padson's going to be Affleck's age when this one comes out it's like and he's supposed to be a Batman instead of his second year now if they were to do a time jump and it's five years later or I'd said if they do film two and three back to back and then they release it and then six months later is the next one and then that wraps up Reeves story I do not want him folded into that. the DCU at all. I think that's terrible. I hope to God they don't do that. Yeah, Steph.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Oh, I would not let that. Well, Mike, also, what do you think about all the stuff with the look of Batman in Creature Commandos? I think it they did it. I see people online like, oh, he's got the trunks. It's over. It's bullshit. I'm like, you can't see shit in that picture. Like, they did it smart. It's a silhouette. And like, we got a lot. I want to use it. But they wanted to use more. And I said, no, no, no. He's in silhouette. He can't make. He can't. make out anything. He's got a belt. He's got a cowl. He's got a cape. That's Batman. And it's animation. They can take liberties. Like, look at Rick Flagg, senior, and Creature Commandos versus what he looks like in Superman. He's got white hair in the
Starting point is 00:49:10 comic or in the cartoon. He doesn't in the live action. So that's Batman. The symbols there, I mean, the silhouette. That's all you need. Step, what do you make about all this? Because it's been a big drama the last like a week, week and a half. Right. I just, I think it's so, hysterical that from James Gunn's standpoint he's like it's a silhouette I'm not committing to too much but then the internet was like Batman's fat like I can't believe you guys have a fat Batman so you guys are so annoying the body body shaming Batman on a silhouette come on guys let's be nice but no I think it's funny it's just a silhouette they can obviously change a little bit but I wouldn't mind a thicker Batman who cares um he's still Batman
Starting point is 00:49:58 I think the timeline, to me, it does feel like it's all falling in line with kind of what he planned in terms of that. I understand that we're not going to get another introduction to his story. I agree with him in the areas with Superman and Batman that, like, we know their origins. Let's like get to where they are now. I think the introduction in Creature Commandos is very James Gunn fashion. Maybe it'll make more people start to watch it. is a really, I really am enjoying it. I'm not caught up yet.
Starting point is 00:50:31 So this was a little spoiler, but I don't really care about this type of spoiler. Yeah. It's like, you know he exists in this world. Well, they already showed him also in the ones that you did see. There was like that futuristic, um, uh, look that they showed and they showed all the heroes that were, I think Batman was one of them that was that was laying there.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Superman certainly was and there was. Yeah. So I mean, we know that Batman's going to be part of the DCU, which is cool that shows up in this and he doesn't have like a massive part. And he doesn't, he doesn't need him to yet you know he doesn't yeah too yet so there's so much that he's got going on and it's still look there's a lot that goes into this superman thing and then and mike do you pay
Starting point is 00:51:08 attention to the test screening stuff and all that stuff that's been going on like again like you hear the one side oh it wasn't good it wasn't good and then everyone's like they're comparing it to the mummy i'm like the mummy's beloved like and that's a great film like so I'm like, and then bring it to Captain America, the first Avenger, which again is a great film. Yeah, that's, see, that, but then I heard people now saying it's, oh, it's Guardians of the Galaxy. Well, those are two vastly different films or three vastly different films, and every one of those is a good film. So, yeah, if it's going to be Guardians the Galaxy level, like, fun and just, like, yeah, I think people are, and it's funny, like, the backlash people get when they talk about Gun and they're like, oh, they're saying from the director of Guardians of the Galaxy,
Starting point is 00:51:54 Like, that, they, like, oh, they can't use anything else. It's like, look at what he did with de-list characters that even myself who's into the comics didn't read. They're theme park characters that everyone in the world knows now. Yeah, but those are people that are also connected into the bubble and don't understand. Like, those are people that would never hire to work in marketing because they, because that, of course, that's what you lead with. You say like, okay, so if the average person who's in the theater going, oh, Superman, who's direct. from the director of Guardians of Galaxy. Not everybody, you know, everybody, like James Gunn is super famous to us, right?
Starting point is 00:52:32 Because we are, this is the stories that we cover all the time. There are many people, the average date filmmaker, a filmgoer, who has no idea the name of James Gunn. Right. They don't. And you think, oh, everybody knows he is. They don't. If I said to certain people, like, if I call again, I always bring up John Pinto. I brought up my friend John Pinto.
Starting point is 00:52:50 I'll call him right now. I'm going to call him right now. He never picks up the phone anyway, but I'm going to call him right now. call john pinto that's such a great name yeah he's he's probably working but i'm gonna i'm gonna call him and i'm gonna see john pince i'm gonna see if he knows let's see i'm gonna tell him he's on the air you're not gonna pick up anyway but he never picks up but um if he does pick up this time i'm gonna i can guarantee that my friend samantha doesn't doesn't know who james gun is and she watches all this shit with me now too and still doesn't know games gun is and she loved the superman trailer and there's no clue james gun is yeah so
Starting point is 00:53:24 but yes you got to leave with the guardians again it never picks up um so yeah it's but anyway the point is you go with uh you go with um the director of guardians no no doubt next and step and soon they can say director of fat batman exactly yeah yeah so the triple c thick batman that's it that's it all right what you guys make of all this anything about the batman stuff what do you think about the DC in general where it's at what say you guys put your thoughts in there put your comments in there let's get to it speaking of let's get to it as I mentioned to you Monday Tuesday Wednesday we had Winston and Roca on here and they were holding the fort down and they started on Monday pretty big with 72 questions well we are just getting
Starting point is 00:54:24 started and as we're getting into it guys we're at 31 okay 31 questions to start we can do that that's not a bad start that's not a bad start and people usually like to try to beat roka um so it usually sets to pick up towards the end uh kalinowski knows that step knows that um so let's get to it the first one comes in we're starting us off with p parker 2288 hey guys happy new year figured the show would have been canceled after roker hosting for three days maybe next to host with him you know i spoke to daggino the other day and um definitely i think that what we're going to do on for for wednesdays we're going to have um we're going to have like guests people come in like clark's going to come in a few more times um i've got i you know i had rb3 on recently
Starting point is 00:55:09 i'm going to have on um finstock i'll have riley on i i talk to ellis ellis is going to come on and do some stuff so we will have some uh some new guests coming in there uh ewalk squid game has to be the most addictive bingeworthy dramatic series i've ever seen can't wait for season three as well as Fincher's U.S. spin-off version. Steph, do you know what my favorite episode of Squid Game is? What?
Starting point is 00:55:33 The ones I've never seen. God damn it, Christian. Not a one. What's wrong with you? Tons to stuff. Yeah, that's true. But I feel like there was that moment when it came out in pandemic,
Starting point is 00:55:48 everyone watched it because we, it was like Tiger King. Yeah, right. Everyone except who. You do. Did you watch Tiger King? Yes. Okay, so what happened?
Starting point is 00:55:59 Never got around to it. Christian. I know. I am like, but to show you, this is, this is what I'm talking about what happened this week. And now I can't promise that this is going to happen now, but this was my plan. Sam was supposed to come in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Thursday, no, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Sam was supposed to come in.
Starting point is 00:56:24 We were going to watch three MCU films and we were going to watch four episodes of Squid Game season one. That was that was going to be what we were going to do. I don't know if I can get her in that many times next week in order to do that. If I can, then I potentially will, but I do want to watch it. But everybody loves it. Everybody says, it's great. You love it, though, right? It is so, okay, so I don't love a lot of shows that don't spark joy.
Starting point is 00:56:51 This show is like Penguin where there's not a lot of joy spark. but it's so well done that it just has me by the throat and I have to watch it. And I, we binged it in like two nights. It was so, it's so good. I'm a little sad, but I was expecting that it would end kind of abruptly because I know that season two was really, uh, once big, large season was season two and three. And so they were going to cut it at some point. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:20 But man, I hope we don't have to wait three years again because it is now. such a huge cliffhanger that I don't want to wait. Yeah, that's what I hear. I got to check that out. So we'll see. Mike, you don't watch that show. I don't. I didn't watch the first one.
Starting point is 00:57:36 Yeah, I didn't think so. I'm so fucking high. Ewok, as for Dune, the later books are so weird. I think that they have to make some significant changes to make them more accessible for cinema audiences. I hear that. Yeah. A lot of people said, did you, do you know the stories?
Starting point is 00:57:50 Steph, or you just have heard the same thing? Yeah, I've only read the first two. so I know but I know that there's a lot of fan fiction books too and there's only like he himself only wrote like six six in this series I think but yeah I think they get really weird then his son his son took over at one point right is that what happened is Frank Herbert's son I don't know I guess that's what Tolkien's kids did is that maybe I'm getting them confused Roman Fodorak hey all hope are you doing all right sending you good vibes everyone's way and he follows it up. Mike and Steph,
Starting point is 00:58:28 worst movies that you saw in 2024. Oh, man. I really don't finish movies I don't like. Oh, yeah. Would you see? Okay, my least favorite movie I watched, I won't say it's a bad movie. It's my least favorite movie I watch of the year. I hate it so much is terrifier. I hate.
Starting point is 00:58:53 They made you watch that, huh? Yes, and I actually for the first time ever was like I'm not watching two and three because my I was so messed up on the car ride home. I had to call my sister because Harry wasn't answering and being like, stay with me on the phone. And I kept thinking Arthur was behind me in the car. So why did you why did you agree to do that one? I didn't know. Well, I, okay, it was an hour 20 minutes. This is how it was pitched.
Starting point is 00:59:21 It's an hour 20. You're going to get in. You're going to get out. Oh. And no. And I'm still not out. I never. I just saw somebody do this.
Starting point is 00:59:31 And I actually think it's kind of shitty that they did this, to be honest. But I saw on Instagram that there was this woman who told her, got her whole family in to watch a holiday movie. And then she put on Terrify her three and made him believe it was a holiday movie. I guess it opens up on holiday or whatever. And it's like there's all the old people who watch it. And it's like, and then one guy goes, what the hell? How kind of movie is this? Exactly.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Exactly. That's what I kept thinking like I, I, I, because I know that the creator has done so much with the budget and the effects and there, there's some high praise to be given. However, in the same vein, what the actual fuck? What's wrong? Yeah. I, I, I, I will never see that movie. I will never see. Good.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Mike, what's the worst movies that you saw? Oh, I didn't say worse. but biggest disappointment and Joker 2 oh yeah that's pretty bad
Starting point is 01:00:31 I do declare isn't that crazy you guys were so excited about it oh yeah the first one's so good your first one's so good yeah
Starting point is 01:00:40 it is you know I saw Craven is it pretty bad but there's actually some stuff I liked in it okay and there's actually a good story
Starting point is 01:00:49 that just you could tell the studio just was like edited and cut and this and that. So I'd watch Craven again before I'd watch Joker again. Okay. Mike Joyce, I think that you three would like Skeleton Crew. It's good, but there's a lot of ha-ha kids are dumb humor, which is the only issue I have with it. I am not doubt. There's so much
Starting point is 01:01:09 talent that is involved with the directors and everybody involved in it that it's, there's nothing. There's not one time that I've talked about this show or like, ah, it's just probably a terrible show. The first two episodes, I remember watching it going, yeah, it's cute. And you know, fun time watching it. But I just, it's not. one of those shows that I care about. I just like I'm like I'm like I'm glad that people are enjoying it. I'm so excited for Star Wars that people are not crapping on it again. They needed to win so it looks like people are enjoying this one. I have seen nothing except praise for people who are watching it. I am just I you know and and I might I might wind up
Starting point is 01:01:44 sitting there and I'll turn this thing on and I'm most likely say hey cute cute thing but I just I don't know if I've cared about a show less. And I and I don't think I it's because of Skeleton crew, I think it's because of what Lucas film has done to Starboard. Yeah. Yeah. I like it, Mike. So you don't have to convince me. I feel like some of you are getting confused. I said I've, I liked it. I just don't love it. Right. That's what I mean. It's like, and I think, Steph, I feel like I would feel the same exact way if I watched it. Yeah. You're just, you're choosing to watch it. That's the difference. Yeah. You're just choosing to watch it.
Starting point is 01:02:19 It's like, you're not like, oh, my God, I can't wait to watch the next episode. You're like, I'm enjoying this. This is fun. This is fun to watch, but it's not like the way you do. Like when Andor comes out, like you got to watch it. Right. Like that's, I mean, that's, that's how I'm, it's the first thing I'm excited for in quite a while in Star Wars. So I'm, I'm excited to see what they're going to do with it. Real quick. What is the next show after Andor? Do we know? I think, uh, Asoka season two.
Starting point is 01:02:46 But that's not going to be this movie? No, the movie is, the movie is Mandalorian and Grogu. and then they don't we know they're doing Follone's like joint universe movie nobody knows nobody knows what the next movie is that's look at us we're in this world and we don't know
Starting point is 01:03:02 nobody knows nobody knows what's coming out they're supposed to be the real movie nobody knows the trouble nobody knows except Kathleen Kennedy alright here we go Mike Joyce also a lot of cool
Starting point is 01:03:14 world building and creature design that's never that's never a problem with Star Wars they've always got cool things it's a sandbox got cool toys. Unfortunately, the kids in the sandbox don't know what they're doing. Yep. Fabricia wrote us. I'm one-third into Lost Stars. And Lucasfilm, what are you doing? Get Luca on the phone and to direct an adaptation of it until they fire him. I don't know how true
Starting point is 01:03:40 this is. I heard this is a while ago. This is years ago that they were going to develop lost stars into either a movie or a... Is that a book? It's a book. And they were going to develop a movie or a TV shot you'll remember which one and then eventually it was scrap because they were told it's too inside baseball and nobody would care that's that's what i heard i don't know how true it is that's what i heard um pete parker 2288 mike tell me you're watching landman oh in my opinion this is the best show on tv right now christian and step both would love it i think is landman is that the one with billy bob thornton i've never i've heard of it because everyone yeah umps it in with like lion
Starting point is 01:04:22 which Lioness is like my show. You love that show? I love it. I'm not caught up because I want them to all to come out at once and I'll watch them all together. But I rewatch season one recently to go into season two. That's my jam. When people talk about shows,
Starting point is 01:04:36 that's why everyone's recommending to me, Dave the Jackal and the Fassbender. Yeah, I saw that. I watched that trailer last night, the Fast Bender one. It looks good, the one with him and Richard Gear. Yeah, my only problem is it seems very slow. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:50 It's like spy stuff. Like Tinker Trial. soldier spy level like slow i need some action in there if you're going to do a the slow burn spy show okay but i'll check it out next one jake the big ball may have dropped on new year's but there's only one big balls i want to see return this year make it happen christian i think it's going to happen within the next couple of weeks stuff i think your buddy's coming back oh really i think so i think he's coming back i just it's just once i think everybody's going to be excited because not only will big walls be back this freaking sound should be fixed hopefully okay i just got to get you i think i've been
Starting point is 01:05:25 trying to get brett on brett's been very hard to get a hold of lately so i think i'm going to try to get i mean it's just going to have to do figure it out with luke get him on the on the on a stream yard him and i just kind of blast through it and try to figure out how to yeah got to bring him back yeah um corn emperor wb christian welcome back thank you uh hopefully everyone as well at home everyone's I mean again I think my wife's like 70% right now which is good considering what you know it was it was not good it was not good she was in she was in bad shape so she's she's finally on the mend uh Jake ranked these shows for 2025 as far as anticipation and or season two last of us season two darede Lvo born again and stranger things holy moly that's really that's pretty great um
Starting point is 01:06:13 I think I'll probably shock people with this. Oh man, this is tough. I'm going to say, even though very much looking forward to it, I'm going to put Daredevil at number four. Number three, I'm going to put last of us season two. Number two, I'm going to put Andor. And number one, I'm going to put Stranger Thing. What?
Starting point is 01:06:36 I want to see how it ends, dude. You've never watched, you've never watched Stranger Thing. Yeah, Stranger Thing. Yeah, Stranger Thing season four is one of the best. seasons of television in a very long time. It was, but season four is better than one. Did you, Steph, I forget, you're a stranger things fan? Yeah, yeah, I love streaming things.
Starting point is 01:06:53 All right, where do you go with this? Um, I would probably say last of us season two, stranger things and or daredevil born again, just in terms of it. Is it first? Oh, oh, sorry, that was opposites. Oh, so, all right, so do it. So, okay. From worst, from least to most.
Starting point is 01:07:17 Daredevil least. Okay. Then Last of Us. Last of Us. Then Andor, that, well, yeah, then Stranger Things. Maybe, yeah. Okay, so you're Strangely. And Mike, let me guess, because you never watched Stranger Things.
Starting point is 01:07:31 So I would say that, did you watch Last of Us? Nope. Perfect. So you, so it's between Andor, so Andor for you is number one and Daredewell number two. No, daredevil is number one. No, really? Oh, you love that Netflix. Yeah. He's my, he's my favorite Marvel character.
Starting point is 01:07:44 And that Netflix show is just the gold standard of superhero television. Okay. Yeah, but what do you think they're going to do with, on Disney Plus? I'm a little scared. I loved it on Netflix, too. I'll say this. The fact that they admitted, like, ooh, what we were doing was wrong. We got to, like, the fact that they didn't bring back, like, Foggy and Karen,
Starting point is 01:08:03 they didn't bring back the actress that played Vanessa and they got a new actress. I was like, this is everything you're doing is wrong. Right. And I think they realized that real quick, because we, fell in love with all those characters and like the relationship with the actress and vincent denofrio made that relationship work and you're just going to bring a new actress in i was like no so in hearing everything that denofrio and charlie are saying about this and that they did like i'm like i think they're going to push it okay yeah all right so let's see uh that was from jake
Starting point is 01:08:36 and now tom hanks to quote mufasa it's time to tell 2024 bye bye the name Anybody see that movie? No, not yet. No. You mean not yet. You're never going to see that movie. I'm going to see it when it drops. Really?
Starting point is 01:08:50 I mean, I hear it's decent. It's fine. Okay. It's fine. Handsome Ransom. Steph is taking no L's in 2025. Let's friggin go. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:09:03 This is my year. This is my year. Setups better now too, because you guys can actually see the questions, right? Yeah. All right, good. Joe for show. Hope you all had a good.
Starting point is 01:09:12 and safe new years yeah that was like i said i just watched um wicked with my little one who was well my older one my oldest one uh at night everybody else was sleeping but and then fireworks here where i live it happens july 4th obviously christmas they decide to let off uh you know like sure not it's not sure bullshit uh i i i i people nothing surprises me anymore at midnight people are letting off fireworks over here like the and and not like little dinky ones like the shell the ones that go shhpf those jesus is born but not a yeah i mean i guess at midnight but it's like give me a break i don't think that was his actual time um how's your dog with the fireworks he doesn't he
Starting point is 01:10:00 sleeps right through it doesn't oh nice let him care no yeah same yeah my my dog is not scared by that stuff he's you know the other day was the i'm so glad actually it's funny you bring that up because the other day there was like thunder this this thunder that was going on here it was like it was it was like four it was crazy like the stuff that was going on and i'm like oh my god this dog is going to be freaking out sleeping right through it like a like a drunk on new year's um all right let's see next one right now we're at 44 guys we need less than 30 to beat roca and winston i think we can do it's i think we can do it with 45 minutes left to go uh assignment in section Christian. Sorry you had a bad few days. Post eggnog and seafood for Christmas. I don't, yeah, I don't think it was the eggnog or the
Starting point is 01:10:46 Well, the fact you ate eggnog and seafood, you deserve whatever. I didn't. I don't disagree. But I didn't, but I didn't like sitting out for 10 hours. No, it wasn't warm. No, it was, it wasn't as well. It was made by Sam made it, but it, but you got to remember it neither one of those things did the damage. I thought that they did, but neither one of them did. Have you heard that? Have you heard that? and our season two production costs more than Revenge of the Sith. Okay, you know, it's so funny that you bring that up. Because I always wonder what people say when they say that. You can't do that, and you can't do that. When you say it costs more than a movie. Okay. So an eight-hour movie, basically, because there's eight episodes, right?
Starting point is 01:11:31 An eight-hour movie as compared to a two-hour movie. Almost four movies. Yeah. So four movies cost more than one movie. Yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. It's like, I never understood that.
Starting point is 01:11:42 We were like, did you know that a full season of a show cost more than that movie? It's like, yeah, because it's eight episodes of like film-based kind of television. So, you know, when they compare them to different seasons, like the fact that Ackleite costs $230 million, you know, as opposed to Obi-Wan costing $80 million. That's, that's ridiculous. Yeah. Yeah. Apples and oranges. Apples and oranges.
Starting point is 01:12:08 Which I never understood that one. either they're both fruit they're completely different though they're both I love apples I don't like oranges all fruit Simon section I would rather see Ridley Scott take on a dune movie like he did back in the day oh like he did legend he didn't do dune then another gladiator movie he can't cut and paste this one yeah I'd like to I like to see him do something else and that was a disappointing one for me gladi or two it's funny really I liked it you like it stuff yeah I really I like to you like it stuff I really liked it.
Starting point is 01:12:40 I liked it, too. You know what's so funny about that movie? It seems like that's, that's, either people really, really hate it. Like, hey, it was fine. It was good one. You know, I enjoyed it. I'll tell you this.
Starting point is 01:12:53 I saw two movies back to back, like within two days of each other. I saw Gladiator Two and Frank Rillow's Werewolves. Yeah. I enjoyed Werewolves better. The Werewolves was plucked right out of the 80s. Yeah. I had a blast.
Starting point is 01:13:06 My, master. And then I didn't know it until I'm watching it. like oh that's my ex-girlfriend right there oh which one she's the scientist not the main actress but looks exactly like her oh she's in the beginning a couple scenes her husband is was one of the producers oh okay and we got we talked a little bit about like the filming of that and and some of the actors in it so okay i i talked to frank grillo about that i saw that i think you talked to like right before i saw it or right after i saw oh okay yeah he's he might be one of my most my most favorite I couldn't believe how old he was, especially in that movie.
Starting point is 01:13:40 When he's, you know, taking a shirt up and like, my God, he's got a great shape for, was he 59? He's got to be close to 60. Mike Joyce, Christian, would you agree that Nosferatu is the second most well-made, crafted movie of 2024, Dune 2 being the first? Also, if Lillied up doesn't win an Oscar, well, she's not going to win an Oscar. No way. No chance she wins an Oscar.
Starting point is 01:14:00 But I doubt it. If she did, that'd be great, but I doubt it. But as far as well-crafted movie, it's a pretty damn well-crafted movie. I'll tell you what was also beautiful was Conclave. Do you guys see that one? Not yet. It is a gorgeous-looking movie. I don't love it as much as everybody else did.
Starting point is 01:14:25 I liked it a lot, but it is, I mean, cinematography, that movie, that movie, I couldn't keep my eyes off that movie. Like usually my ears kind of go towards score and everything too. And there's other people who really point out the cinematography and those types of things. But I could not keep my eyes. I think that is the even, I mean, look, if that beat Dune for a cinematography, I wouldn't be mad at it. It's gorgeous. But as far as Nostratu, yeah, it's pretty, can you, are you able to see that one, Steph?
Starting point is 01:14:59 You'd be able to see that. I'm going to watch that. Yeah, you'd be able to see that. Because you liked, you liked Bram Stoker. Yeah, yeah. Francis R. Coppola's version. I like vampire movies in general, even if they are a little scary. I can...
Starting point is 01:15:10 It's creepy, but it's, you know, it's Robert Eggers, so... Yeah, I'm definitely going to watch it. Pete Parker 2288. Mike, that Griswold House looked awesome. What was that? Did you do that for... So Shannon, on Christmas Eve, she's like, hey, we're going to have dinner, and then I'm going to take you somewhere. I'm like, okay.
Starting point is 01:15:25 I drove for about 45 minutes down kind of towards Disneyland, and there is this house that this man transformed into the Griswold House. Somebody did that long on. And it's like they've got the RV, they've got mannequins of every scene in the movie, they've got the car with the tree. It was insane. Insane. Yeah, they did that.
Starting point is 01:15:46 I didn't come, I didn't see it, but they did it over here too for that. That's pretty great. Go pal, what's up, buddy? It wasn't a surprise that the same families run things in June. The book tells us, and Jessica mentions in the first movie about an Atreides, Exiling the Harkinanin from the Battle of Coran for Caritas. No, absolutely. I mean, look, it's not a.
Starting point is 01:16:05 earth, right? So, like, things can move differently and all that. It's just, it's more of like a, really, that many years, as opposed to, does it suck me out of it? Not really. There's other people that it bothers more than it bothers me, but, but yeah, I mean, I get over it pretty good. GoPowell also says when they defeated the thinking machines, they banned most technologies, which led to stagnation outside of the humans, like the Ben-Jeserate, Mentats, et cetera. I know, but again, 10,000 years is not, not 500. hundred years. It's 10,000 years. Handsome ransom. I want Marvel to have their own Oz Cobb, like just a dirty, grimy villain that we don't sympathize with or have mugs saying that they were
Starting point is 01:16:47 right, just a bad effing guy or gal that makes us root for the heroes. I know. You know, I had this conversation with my daughter, because we were talking about wicked and we're talking. I get annoyed. I don't know, and Steph, I know you are not on the same page. You're more on the page with Vivian, my daughter than me. I get annoyed that, and Mike, I think Mike's on the same page with me on this, that all the villains now in every movie, here's why they're bad.
Starting point is 01:17:16 And they're not really bad. I'll tell you why they're not really bad. And actually, are they even bad? Or are they actually bad? That's like, let them, let bad guys be bad guys. And I don't know. And I think that's what, I think Oz did that. And wait, Steph, you say the name of the show.
Starting point is 01:17:32 and oh oh and penguin i love the way you say that uh okay penguin penguin um what do you say penguin penguin penguin penguin i like the way you said um so but i liked there was no because any second you thought right wait a minute i like i like i like us you got slapped for thinking that you got slapped for it you had dick slap yeah literally like shut your mouth you idiot you thought this guy was good no that's how i felt that that's a villain that is a villain and you know the oh oh man i like eyes no you don't you think you do but you don't and like i just can't i everything is like oh that's a good guy and molyphiccicin there's a reason why she's so evil here's a reason don't you feel bad for Everybody's bad.
Starting point is 01:18:30 Isn't that, I mean, isn't that wicked? That's what I'm saying. That's where the conversation went. No, because the point of the West, we're not supposed to like her. I haven't seen the second half. The point is that she's not the, like there, I haven't seen the second half. I don't, but you don't hate the fact that Oz is bad. Oz has been bad even in Wizard of Oz.
Starting point is 01:18:50 He wasn't bad. He was a dope. He's a fake, a fraud. He's a fraud. But here's the question, though, about that because I said the same thing. And, and I know there's Wizard of Odd. Wizard of Oz aficionados out there that can tell me this. But in the in the original, when the tin man is looking for his heart and the scarecrow is looking for his brain,
Starting point is 01:19:11 Oz says to him, and he says to him, wait a minute, do do this. And then he does some kind of thing. And he gets a heart, he gets a brain, and he's got some kind of magic. He's able to give him something because they both get a heart and a brain at the very end. So he does some kind of magic. And then he's like, and, like, what about me? you can't get her back to the but he he gives all he gives the he gives them trinkets but isn't it more like you have the power within i just gave you yeah i think i think i think i have to review it
Starting point is 01:19:39 but in terms of marvel i agree i think that but i uh i really like the villain in guardians volume three yeah yeah he was good um the high evolutionary he was just an evil POS yes he was yeah anytime you go against there's no turning back when it comes to like animals but like Kylo Ren is another example like kind of we knew they were going to turn him although Truvaro wasn't he was going to keep him he was going to keep him evil and they should have stayed that route but like you knew he was they were going to turn him because that's what they do and he's like he's he's going to turn again and it's like uh boo it's so boring um but yeah I know but I think the whole point of wicked is that
Starting point is 01:20:22 wicked is my daughter keeps hammering this into my head to say dad this is is more like fan fiction inside of like you can't connect this to oz to wizard of oz because it's not canon to that movie she's like this is different this is the this is the world where the other perspective of it where at where alpha ba is essentially you know like the hero of it and it's like but you know i don't know i don't know what happened in the second half i don't know if she's going to do evil stuff or it looks i i don't know enough about so yeah i just to me it was like yeah and and this isn't the movie the play did this obviously the play was the one that that came up with the idea like you know the perspective of maybe it wasn't maybe she wasn't as bad as you thought she was anyway but as far as marvel goes
Starting point is 01:21:09 yeah i think that it would be interesting to see if they ever do that i don't know if they will um i think that they that's dc has a little bit more of the grimy world to play in um all right guys we are only uh 20 away well 21 away from time from tying winston and rocca i think we can do it uh go pal Dinee should do children of Dune based on the story, but he disagrees. I guess the third book will be difficult to film for spoiler reasons. I think they're going to change up a lot of stuff, though. I don't think that the first, I don't think that the rest of the books and everything, too, are so beloved that people
Starting point is 01:21:42 would give a crap that they really, like, did a whole facelift to them. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, next one is Samir. Skeleton Crew is a wonderful show for families. Do your girls have any interest or do they not know it exists? I tried to get my little one. I said, that's how I said, that's how I told myself that I would watch it.
Starting point is 01:22:01 I said, you know what? If the seven-year-old wants to watch it, then I'll watch it with her. And I said, Masey, want to watch this Star Wars show? She's, I don't like Star Wars. I said, I don't forget it. And then my oldest completely, like, she used to love watching Star Wars with me. She would watch all the shows with me. She was everything.
Starting point is 01:22:15 She doesn't give a crap. I don't much much wicked all the time. I don't care. I was 13. She didn't care. It's funny because as much as people think that, like, Star Wars is made now for 13-year-old girls and everything, my 13-year-old girl wants nothing to do with Star Wars,
Starting point is 01:22:30 so I don't agree with that. I don't agree with it at all. Anyway, let's see. Next one is, okay, thank you again for everybody who's putting in these questions. Really appreciate it. Crystal D.W. fan. My sister loves Wicked so much.
Starting point is 01:22:48 It drives me crazy. I've yet to watch. I usually wait for stuff going to streaming, and the hype goes down. Yeah, I mean, this is one of those movies that it's like, I don't think that if you, if you're like, if you never, Steph, I'm curious what you think about this.
Starting point is 01:22:59 If you were not a musical fan and you don't like musicals at all, I don't know that this is going to be the one where you watch it and you go, oh, I love musicals. Yeah, I think if you don't like musicals at all, like you've never seen one that you, that brings you any joy, then I think you might be like at best. Oh, that was fine.
Starting point is 01:23:19 That was cool. Right. But I don't see it being, because it's a musical. Well, I think Mike said it best before too, right? It's like one of those. Mike went to see it with friends and was interested in seeing it. And it wound up like really enjoying it when he and checked it out. And it's funny because I saw it. I didn't like the trailers.
Starting point is 01:23:33 I didn't like the trailers at all. I thought it was like, oh, no, here we go with this one. And I really enjoyed it when I saw it in the theater. And I saw it on, I saw it in the regal. It's probably the best movie theater experience I've had in a long time as far as the screen. And minus the influences that were there to see it. It was overall, though, it was a, it was a real. really, really good screening experience, but then watching it back with the kids.
Starting point is 01:24:02 It's a really good movie. It's a really good film. Crystal WD fan. Come on, everybody, let's beat Roka. I love that they put Roka in there and not instant. Why do people have such a thing against Roka? What's hilarious is this, though. What's hilarious is that they always want to beat Roka, but Roka always gets to a place.
Starting point is 01:24:20 It's not like, it's like, oh, nobody really likes Roka. If that was the case, he wouldn't get 100 freaking super chapsed. He won last week, didn't he? Right. It's like a very harmonious love, hate. The audience that's watching them on Monday is definitely, look, you can't, he sparks conversation. You can't, you can't argue with that.
Starting point is 01:24:39 Handsome Ransom, doing Glinda's work just trying to make Steph the most popular. I think she's already there. Yeah. All right. Wicked art. Thank you. I'm sorry. Don't you, don't you apologize.
Starting point is 01:24:52 I told you that. Issue 8 and 9 are taking so long, but I really want to end these last two on a great note. Issue 8 is about 30 pages right now. Yes, I've been working nonstop, and I promise that we're worth the wait. For those of you wondering what the hell we're talking about here, Wicked Art does the Capes and Cowles comic book that Mike is in, Steph is in, Winston Coy. I think Roak is in it. If he's not, hopefully it makes an appearance.
Starting point is 01:25:16 But there's going to be, there's a ton of stuff that he has done, and what we're going to do is once the whole thing is done, We're going to do voices and we're going to add music to it. We're all going to read our roles and we're going to do a full issue or episode. It'll probably be around three hours long. But we'll edit it and put it out there and it'll be pretty damn good. And you can access the issues. You want to read it.
Starting point is 01:25:40 If you're a member on this channel, every member has access to the comic book and every Patreon has an access to the comic book. So if you haven't, I know that nerds engaged gifted a whole bunch of people. if you haven't had, you know, accessed it and you have access to the membership, then I don't know what you're doing. Handsome Ransom. I just need the new Batman theme to be chunky by Bruno Mars. Perfect.
Starting point is 01:26:04 Amazing. That would be really good. Chunky Batman coming in hot. Where is he? I think he's still up there. There he is. Yes. Perfect.
Starting point is 01:26:13 Look at those thighs. Look at those thighs. He's just doing squats. Yeah. Yeah. Crystal coming back in. do we think that this Blake lively versus Justin's situation will get as bad as the Johnny Depp Amber Hurd situation? I just love Justin Baldoni and Jane the Virgin series.
Starting point is 01:26:30 It breaks my heart if what he accused of is true. To answer your first part, no, it will not get as bad as those two because, A, they were never a couple. Yeah, there's nothing worse than a romance gone awry. It's also the case of like domestic violence and all those things that are kind of tied into it. This is not that one is better than the other, but it's like one of, but it's like that, that is a, that's a relationship thing. And it comes to, there's a lot more to that. But, you know, as far as high profile goes, maybe because, you know, it needs to be, we have to see what's going to happen. We have to see what details are going to come to like, you know, and we don't know yet.
Starting point is 01:27:12 I know we know that Justin just sued the times for the article. Yeah, go ahead, Mike. No, just what's interesting, I didn't think of this. Someone else did. The fact that Lively, though, was a producer on the film. Yeah. And if you're a producer, you have a say in the director. So, like, I'm kind of curious if there's so many problems.
Starting point is 01:27:30 Why didn't she go, all right, this guy's gone. Get him out of here. I can't deal with this guy. Well, I think that what originally happened, and correct me if I'm wrong, for anybody who knows this. But I think that the woman who wrote the story went to Justin first and got Justin and brought him on board. And then they went and got Blake and made her. a producer of the film i think i think i remember reading that but also didn't and i'm trying to remember when this film came out didn't the two of them do a lot of press where there was yeah like but like
Starting point is 01:27:57 it was like fun banter between the two of them oh they never did press together no no no not when they came out they're saying then like Ryan Reynolds came into the interview and took over the interview i don't remember enough of some actor and he's like so how did you feel having scenes with my wife and making out with her and he's just like uh is that from that i don't know i don't know i can't speak on it. I don't know enough about it. Artem, Batman's new Batcave is the donut shop.
Starting point is 01:28:25 Hell yeah. That would be so, that would be a really fun animated series if they wanted to do one that was a little sillier. Yeah, but there's only one person that I'd want to be the villain in that. Master! Yeah, that'd be amazing. That would be amazing. The way I tied that in.
Starting point is 01:28:43 Okay, so next one here. And again, thank you to Artem for that one. And guys, we're getting close. 66. 66. I think we can take this. We need 72. We need 72 to beat Winston.
Starting point is 01:28:57 And then what I also like to do this week is I'm never, what's funny is that I'm on every show. So I'm really always, I'm never really competing with anybody. But I want this one to be the one that does it. I even want to beat coin Winston tomorrow. I want to beat coin Winston tomorrow on this show. So let's get us, let's get us to the top. Although I say that today. And then tomorrow I'm probably going to be saying, right.
Starting point is 01:29:17 Mike Joyce, the MCU president being a Hulk and fighting Captain America, is the MCU officially jumping the shark to me? Will it be too much for general audiences too? It depends on how it's done. I never, anytime a question like that is asked, I said, don't you think there's going to be too much? I didn't see the movie yet. So I can't really say it, but I don't know, Mike, you saw the trailer. Do you think it's too much for the audience to be able to take? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:29:42 Yeah. You know, there's three big villains. and this thing I don't know there's just a lot behind the scenes with this film that I'm not gonna yeah
Starting point is 01:29:55 come until I see it and then it could be like oh wow you really yeah you see all the patchwork of trying to make a movie of different versions and it's crazy it's only a month and a half away I know yeah yeah when I saw six weeks I was like what I know
Starting point is 01:30:12 I know it's because you still it doesn't really feel like 2025 yet Right. And it is. I will say what I kind of feel is a good sign maybe for it is because they've got Daredevil right after that and Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four very soon. They're not hyping those films at all right now. Right. I feel if they thought it was a disaster, they'd be like, and Daredevil coming one month later.
Starting point is 01:30:32 Like they haven't even released a trailer for Daredevil yet. No, they haven't. You're right. Which is crazy. It's been seen in a couple conventions, but I'm like, but they're not hyping anything. So that might maybe they are like, all right, we can't. I don't know. I don't know. I have no clue.
Starting point is 01:30:46 Crystal comes back in. I hope your wife continues to feel better. Thank you, I appreciate that. Yeah, she's getting there. She just needs, she needs to catch up on some sleep, too, but she's, it's been, it's been tough, especially with, you know, the kids out of school and everything right now, too.
Starting point is 01:31:01 It wasn't, it wasn't the best time. It wasn't the best time. And the thing is also that we, it was two weeks ago we were hit. I mean, I had just gotten over COVID. And then she had, they had gotten over, sinus, it was bad. It was bad.
Starting point is 01:31:15 uh sunzu hey everyone happy new year harlough and kalanowski can i get out of the theater reactions to rise a skywalker between arnold and michael kane picking up as somehow palpatine returned sure why not let's see hey michael what did you think about that i i'm i'm still contemplating the it was uh it has little guys saying something with the droid and hitting in the head and kailoran saying I'm good now, and then ghost everywhere, and I think I saw a soak in the background. What this happened? What I think could have made that film even better
Starting point is 01:31:52 was if the entire movie, if Palpatine was played by my good friend, Ian McDermann, and the rest of the people were Muppets, because I don't know if you saw this, but I did Scrooge. And it's a classic, because what you have to do is you have to make sure and believe that everybody around you is real.
Starting point is 01:32:09 Because if you watch my performance in their film, I'll treat everyone like I was an actor on the set because people that watch that Scrooge they tell me that they tear and they well up and the tears they feel them all through the house so if you could do that with the Star Wars film but you put the emotion with the puppets
Starting point is 01:32:31 that'll be a classic I have to tell you everything you said there is just fantastic I love I love the out with the people and the singing and the Muppets it's just real good. Let me say this. If you watch all your films. And I would say that if you did twins and you did it with you,
Starting point is 01:32:49 but with a Muppet, Daddy DeVito, like a little Muppet, who's to say he isn't, ha, you know, he'd call him a Muppet, hold him up and give him to see him some milk. And I said, no, milk is for babies. Thank you. That was very good. Thank you. We could have probably done the whole show like that.
Starting point is 01:33:06 Yeah. All right. Let's see. Roman. Roka was predicting. that Kathleen Kennedy leaves this year. Thoughts? If I had a dollar for every time someone said
Starting point is 01:33:17 Kathleen Kennedy was leaving this year, I would be able, I would, do you remember? We would need super chats in the show. When we talked about, this is pre-Indiana Jones, we thought it was going to be a blockbuster. I'm like, she's going to go out on a high note.
Starting point is 01:33:30 Remember that? Yeah. We were wrong. We were wrong. Yeah, no, I, do I think she, no, I don't think she's going to be gone. She's not leaving anytime soon. She's not leaving. Go pal.
Starting point is 01:33:41 Frank Herbert wrote six books, then he died. Well, if Gopal's like our resident Dune expert, I love it. Yeah, thank you. Frank Herbert wrote six books and died while working on the seventh and 86. His son, Brian and Kevin J. Anderson, started writing more in 99. The fourth of Franks gets pretty weird. Five and six are also odd. Thank you, Gopal.
Starting point is 01:34:04 That's good to know. I mean, yeah, anytime we're going to do a spoiler show on Dune next time. We've got to make sure that Gopal is there. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's good to know. Ryan, if Villanoo sits to the books, I hope Normies are prepared for what Paul Atrates becomes because it ain't good. Well, no spoiler here, Ryan.
Starting point is 01:34:22 Come on, show a little. I'm excited to see what they're going to do. It already looks like he's going down the pretty rotten path at the end of that second movie, though. Yeah. Yeah, good stuff. Yeah, I think if you ever have a character who has the opportunity to choose true love or go on a political conquest and they choose the latter, then there's something happening internally with that character.
Starting point is 01:34:51 I think he was very intensified. Indeed. Darth Vader's burnt asshole. I am game for more Dune without Deney. The fourth book is the best. And the show proves that they can do without it. It does get real weird after the next movie. So what everybody says about the weird stuff.
Starting point is 01:35:09 I wonder if the weird stuff is going to, lose people though you know because the show ain't that weird the show's the show's cool i really like the show yeah i'm curious because i haven't read the books i'm curious what kind of weird is is it like weird like how we get in the lannisters are screwing each other as family members in game of thrones or is it like like what kind of weird because i do think people like that but doesn't it's not is it spoiler if you say something that happened in the book doesn't all turn into a sandworm. Does he really? I don't know. I hope not. I thought someone said either that or it was like it was like the poster of a cover of one of the books or something. I don't know. Yeah. See,
Starting point is 01:35:51 that's kind of stuff that I don't need in my life. When they talk weird, I think they mean weird like that kind of thing. Oh. Handsome ransom ransom. Good health and good vibes all in 2025. Thank you. Who are your most anticipated characters coming this year? Mine are Punisher and Superman with crypto coming in third. Superman's definitely up there for me. Um, I have to look at, I got up, I mean, I haven't even put together my list yet. What do you mean characters? Like, yeah, characters coming in. Like, he's excited about Punisher coming in to the MCU.
Starting point is 01:36:20 Okay. He's excited about Superman coming in. I mean, Superman, obviously, right? I'm excited to see, I don't know if it's my most anticipated, but I'm excited to see Rick Flagg, Sr. in live action with Frank Rillow and Peacemaker. Punisher's a good one. He's been a morpho. I'm excited to see him in Superman.
Starting point is 01:36:39 Excited for Fantastic Four, of course. all those characters all those characters yeah i'd like to see what they're going to do with uh with thing for sure yeah i have to think of a little bit more as far as characters well i like that question step do you have any of them uh i agree with your characters punisher was i think i liked well i don't know if i like punish her season more than um daredevil but i like to punish your episodes within daredevil the most out of all the daredevil episodes i love that character so much i'm so scared for what what how they're going to represent him on disney because he's insane that prison escape episode it's like how do you do that on disney plus i don't i mean they might
Starting point is 01:37:24 now the hulu merger and everything but that'd be interesting i don't i don't know we'll see how it's going to work uh z rod predictions on golden globe's best pitcher winner okay well let's see There's the nominations. For drama, you got a complete unknown, conclave, Dune Part 2, Nickel Boys, September 5th, and the Brutelist. I have seen Complete Unknown, I've seen Conclave, I've seen Dune Part 2, I've seen September 5th. I have to see both Nicola Boys and the Brutalist. But as far as drama goes, I'm going to say it's probably going to go between the Brutalist. Brutalist and
Starting point is 01:38:05 Now what do I think should win? Dune Part 2 But I think it's going to be between The Brutalist and Complete Unknown Do you guys have a prediction there? I have not seen most of those So I cannot commit Yeah, I think
Starting point is 01:38:19 Probably the Brutalist But I would want Dune 2 Okay Did you see the Brutalus yet stuff? No, not yet. Yeah, I hear good things. Best Motion Picture Musical Comedy Real Pain, Anora,
Starting point is 01:38:33 challengers, Amelia Perez, the substance and wicked. I don't understand how the substance is, I guess it's a dark comedy. I guess it is. I didn't see Amelia Perez. I don't know if that's musical or comedy. It's musical. It is. Okay.
Starting point is 01:38:48 I would push back on anybody that said that Anora was not a common. It's hilarious. Up until the ending, it's hilarious. Right. I think this lineup is so killer. I actually have seen all of these. They're so good. I obviously, Wicked has to win.
Starting point is 01:39:09 Wicked's going to win. Yeah. Okay. Go pal. What's KJA? What is that? KJA came from Star Wars EU, and it's about the level of KGA came from Star Wars EU.
Starting point is 01:39:24 Is it a director, a writer? And that's the level of his and Brian's writing, which is sad for a Dune story. Fanfic is the right term. Maybe he's a character in the Star Wars of you? Maybe. Not sure. Let's see.
Starting point is 01:39:38 Kevin J. Anderson. Oh, he's an author. Okay. Oh, okay, okay, okay. He did Jedi Search, Stark Apprentice, and Champions of the Force. I see. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:39:49 Thank you. Elips 10. June, Part 4, is the third book of the trilogy. Man, I love how many people are, see, but this is why, you see how many people are getting cited in the comments about all the books and everything too they do know about this is why i think that it makes sense that warner brothers wants to carry on with this lore it really does um all right so we've beaten
Starting point is 01:40:15 we've beaten rocca and Winston with eight we have 81 okay the question is with with 20 minutes left can we get to 100 to put coy and and Winston out of reach that's that's the goal uh chris hunt i got around seeing a star is born i was upset to learn that Bradley Cooper's Coast Star Wars was Lady Gaga and not an upside down dog wearing glasses on his balls. What? Wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:40:43 I read that wrong. Got around to seeing a star is born. I was upset to learn that Bradley Cooper's co-star was Lady Gaga and not an upside down dog wearing glasses on his balls. And the reason I get that reference, it's
Starting point is 01:40:58 from an Instagram realer. And in the reel, is that scene of Bradley Cooper looking out the window going. I just want to get more to look at you. It's this fucking bulldog upside down glasses on his balls. So that's hilarious.
Starting point is 01:41:17 That's funny. I murdered it with the first part of it. Just want to look at you one more time. Yeah. That was hilarious. That was hilarious. Okay. Next one is Crystal DW fan.
Starting point is 01:41:27 I love Sam's reaction to the Avengers. Really love visiting back to the old MCU. days keep up the great work thank you yeah she's actually coming in in about 45 minutes we're gonna do iron man three today um and like i said we had a whole we had a whole plan this week to knock out like three mc u movies and like two days worth or at least a day worth of uh squid games but um didn't work out but yeah sam sam's the best she's loving doing it she'll be on the channel a lot more in 2025 handsome ransom nosed ferratu was amazing it really was have you guys seen the dracula series on netflix i absolutely love it at least episode one and two it pairs
Starting point is 01:42:02 with the book. Do you guys see the Dracula series on Netflix? I didn't even know there was one. Which one? No, I didn't know that it was one. I do like Dracula. No, I didn't. I didn't, I didn't see it. So I'm, I'm curious. How long has that been around? I don't, I didn't even know there was a series. So. That's great. Uh, you serious? Hey, Christian, I think it would make no sense to not have the old characters come back in Doomsday and Secret Wars because it's this huge multiverse. event that some version of characters have to show up. I don't disagree. I don't disagree with that. I think that that's probably one of the reasons that they probably had this whole thing together. And I just want this multiverse thing to end. But I do think it makes sense. It makes sense to have
Starting point is 01:42:46 them all back. In the same way that we said guys that, you know, when I think we were the three that said that Luke Skywalker needed to come back when he was the only Jedi that would be around that would be powerful enough to hear that signal and everything too, of course it would be him. in the same way that yes, if you're going to do multiverse and you're able to do this in the way that you would in a comic book, you can get them all back. You get them back. I just don't want them to do the thing, Mike, where it's like,
Starting point is 01:43:11 okay, this is Downey, but it's not Tony Stark. It's Doom. This is Chris Evans, but it's not Steve Rogers. I know, but it's like, I don't, that's going to be with for everybody. Then it just gets lame. But I mean,
Starting point is 01:43:26 how many, like, again, I think what really kind of, aside from the over, you know, whatever of the multiverse thing. The fact that like, okay, so No Way Home, Marvel's biggest thing since end game, they established, okay, every Spider-Man is different. Peter Parker on every, but now we're getting all these versions of the characters,
Starting point is 01:43:48 and they look like the original characters. Like they never made up their mind and said, because it fits whatever the story is. Like, well, we're gonna do it because we want Toby and Andrew back, so yeah, they don't look alike on every world, but now, yeah, Yeah, these ones were showing they do look like everybody.
Starting point is 01:44:04 And the Loki ones don't look like everybody. They didn't establish rules for their multiverse. It went off the rails. And didn't what if season three end the multiverse? Like, I thought that was the point of the end of that movie. Like, I'm done with this multiverse crap and like, just get it done. Get it done. Get it over with.
Starting point is 01:44:23 Agreed. PLD projects. Woo, I can donate again. Hashty Beat Roka. He's been trying to donate. Last year he took a last week, he took a big. big L because he and his wife tried to chime in to take Roka out and Roka wind up winning on Friday. So they were, they were, they were hysterical.
Starting point is 01:44:40 They were upset. So now, so now he's, he's riding high because they, they've dethroned Roka, at least this week. Um, okay, Brooklyn, Army Hammer was on YMH. What's YMH? What's my.m. He reminds me of Mike 100%. Mike, are you, are you, are you, what the hell? That's not a compliment. Are you eating people?
Starting point is 01:45:03 No. Cannibal. We don't know if he's a cannibal, but still. Well, he likes to eat. Oh, right. Yeah. It's not good. He's a bit of a weird.
Starting point is 01:45:14 Now, if you said, because he's a charming, handsome man, I'll take that. I can't even see him like that. No. It's hilarious. Dancing Dog 60. Think Disney will revive the Pirates franchise. I think they're going to try. I hope not.
Starting point is 01:45:30 I think they're going to try. you don't think they're going to try? No, I just. They're going to try and eventually they're going to have to bring back Johnny Depp. They're going to try. Yeah. Mike Joyce, is Oz a real place or just inside Dorothy's head? I mean, it looks like it, I mean, it, it just depends on what universe you're talking about.
Starting point is 01:45:51 If you're talking about Wizard of Oz, like my little one's like, it's a dream. But if you're talking about wicked, it's real. So it's so funny. She's the only one out of that. Like my wife never liked Wizard of Oz, so I don't think she's ever seen the whole thing through. My oldest won't watch it. But and loves Wicked, but won't watch Wizard of Oz.
Starting point is 01:46:12 Interesting. My little one that's watched Wizard of Oz. She watched it with me like a year ago, and she really enjoyed it. So what do you guys think, by the way? Do you think Oz is a real place or inside Dorothy's head? It's real. Yeah. Artem, I don't like when New She's,
Starting point is 01:46:30 shows come out and they say it's the next Game of Thrones. Don't make it the next Game of Thrones because you will miss. Just make it a good show. Well, but the question is, go ahead, Mike. I think they say that because who's saying it though? Who's saying it? I don't know. I don't know. I'm just saying, I think they say it because that kind of took over the conversation.
Starting point is 01:46:49 It was a water cooler show. It was the show you're talking about the next day. It was like, not many people were into the books, like general public-wise. And then this thing, I remember at the height of Game of Thrones, I didn't watch it, but everyone, it was took everyone, and everyone's talking. I think when they say this is the next game of Thrones, I think they just, maybe they're meaning that. I could be wrong. I just want to know, like, you know, who he is referring to.
Starting point is 01:47:13 If it's like, if it's like the audience that's saying it, then, you know, it's not necessarily missing because the audience just has, oh, yeah, this could be the next game of Thrones, because there's things in June, the series that reminds me a Game of Thrones, right? but I don't think the creators said, hey, we're putting out a show that is very similar to Game of Thrones. Like, it's just a matter of who's saying, I don't really see a lot of creators doing that
Starting point is 01:47:36 because it's kind of like a no-no to say, hey, hey, this is, we're putting out a show. I can see it when you're pitching it in a room. Like, hey, what's your show? Where our show is kind of like Breaking Bad meets, blah, blah, blah. Because that gets people in the room going, oh, all right, I know what this show is. All right, next one, Crystal.
Starting point is 01:47:54 Let's beat Roka. Let's start 2025, right? right hashtag beat roka well you ready i mean that that already happened now the question is hashtag a hundred to get out of the way of uh we got to to beat winston and coy tomorrow because those guys those are those are the guys to beat usually uh handsome ransom ransom if disney does bring back pirates i just hope it's rated oh no he deserves he's putting he's putting enough questions today that okay he can make some dad jokes uh dancing dog 60 funniest animal house Well, what is the funniest movie? Animal House, Porkies, or Stripes? I would go Animal House.
Starting point is 01:48:31 Stripes. I haven't seen Porkies or Stripes, so I would have to go Animal House. Geek, Loads Starts. What's your most anticipated movie of 2025? I got to say, I would have to say Superman. I am in between Superman and Wicked Part 2. Oh, you're forgetting something. That's not, either one of those is your most anticipated. I'm torn. My gut says Mission Impossible Final Reckoning.
Starting point is 01:49:03 Yeah, Steph's is Avatar 2. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I for, damn it. Come on. But I am so afraid of the direction of this next movie. I'm not. Why? Because it's fire and stuff?
Starting point is 01:49:15 Because, no, no, no. Because you know, Tiri's my favorite character. And Zoe Seltana got like shut out last movie, which was my, I didn't love. and I'm very concerned because you know I loved the movie but I I like want to box spider like I want to
Starting point is 01:49:34 I want to I hate you hate spider I hate him and I'm so afraid for what they're going to do with that character I can't wait I'm excited for that movie okay Mike what was yours again Mission Impossible Possible
Starting point is 01:49:45 or I mean it's right up there with Superman so okay tons by nerds nerds engage right now PIA Nice nice. Projects. Roka won last week, but it was with an aster.
Starting point is 01:49:58 Holiday week and there was in a full week of show. Oh my gosh, you guys. A wins. A win. We love Roka. It's a win. Joey Petrus has been a member for two months. Thank you, Joey.
Starting point is 01:50:08 Any dream composer you'd like to see work on an upcoming DCU film. I want to see the return of Steve Leblonsky. Where's Steve Jablonsky been? Love to see him do a TCU. I don't know. I don't know. That's a good question. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:22 Think about that one. Mike Joyce. I saw Wicked on Christmas with a family and my mom and sister fell asleep. wow they didn't like it huh interesting there's the holidays remember they're tired yeah a long day shopping or something nerds engage who has just been absolutely wonderful has gifted two more memberships to some people i love that they thank you so much for that um i mean no three more memberships no four memberships four memberships gifting that out what a wonderful thing to do thank you nerds engage who says happy new year
Starting point is 01:50:56 Thank you. That was really, really nice to you to you doing that. Thank you, NERS engaged. Crystal, W. Fand, beating Roka Squad. Let's go. Hashtaget B. Roka? Nerds Engage. Does Superman make a billion? Going to be tough. I don't think so. It's going to be tough. And I don't mean that in a negative way.
Starting point is 01:51:12 No, it's going to be tough because it's like, and one of the story we didn't even cover today was that the trailer did very, very well. Broke a bunch of records, other things too, but I don't know. I don't know if it can beat a billion. It comes down to it. It's got to be a good movie. It's got to be a good movie. Yeah, talk to me when, talk to me when, and, you know, right as we're getting close to in June, July.
Starting point is 01:51:31 Some more support from Crystal. Thank you very much. And then Big Busta. Hey, Mike, D.C. fans are eating good. Let D.C. you cook. Christian always makes a laugh my ass off. Thank you, Big Bust, appreciate that. And then, dance and dogs.
Starting point is 01:51:49 Says, remember, the leader can control minds. So, probably going to control the Hulk, I would assume, right? you would assume that's what's going to happen yeah and then uh cupcake bliss hello crew hello to uh happy new years to all you guys i would love to see a live action film of either an older superman batman or even spider man is that something that can happen or is it not marketable i mean i know that they had like old man i mean batman is an old man like as in an older like you know probably 50 60s i think you probably have a better shot of batman with that yeah but at this point you had king come back already he's right he's not coming back in the
Starting point is 01:52:26 No, but I mean, like, what do you mean, remember, Josh Brolin was mentioned at one point. You know what a cool thing would be? 20 years from now, Andrew Garfield does a Spider-Man movie. Yeah. That would be something cool. I think that would be one of those, like, if he does four or five more, but just he's, to put him in his 50s or 60s, and he comes back, and I think that could be really well done. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:47 You know, we're nine away from 100. Nine away. Crystal D.W. fan, do we ever feel we ever will get a new Wonder Woman movie? Yeah, of course. Eventually, not anytime soon. Probably the next, I would say, six to ten years. Yeah. Nick Vaughn, can Steph do a celebrity impression?
Starting point is 01:53:08 Who's your impression, I'm sure with working at the ground, doing, not growlings. We didn't do as much impression work as more so like character. What about Fran Dresher? Okay, let me try. Mr. Sheffield, it's Frank. It's like, I feel like if you would have committed harder, you were. Okay, good. But here, let's say, let's get what, you got to commit.
Starting point is 01:53:42 You got to commit. Okay, okay, okay. Nobody's watching you. Mr. Sheffield, do you like my outfit? Ah, ha, ha, ha, so cute. love that followed up perfect with captain penis who says what's a movie that surprised you the most in 2024 um i mean i'd have to go back and and look at the list but at the top of my head i'd say wicked because i wasn't i didn't think that the um i didn't think that that that i didn't like the trailer
Starting point is 01:54:14 so i'd probably say wicked but i i'm sure there's another one what about you guys i'm looking at my amelia perrez the trailer i love when movies do this just completely through me me off and I like had no idea the movie that that was going to unfold and as it was unfolding I thought it was so good. It came out last year, but I saw it this year. Like I knew the hype of it, but I wasn't sure what to expect, but Godzilla minus one. Oh, so good. That surprised me because I kind of thought knowing I know what I'm going to get out of a Godzilla movie.
Starting point is 01:54:45 And I was like, oh man, this is like next level for me. My favorite movie. So good. I did watch Kong Empire, the newest one. Yeah. in that the Rebecca Hull movie i really liked it it's super fun it's just really fun sunzu uh s c tf you thanks guys i caught it just in time on my lunch break that it was great especially for off the top freestyle i can only imagine if you all wrote that skip what what are we talking about
Starting point is 01:55:16 here oh oh for uh for uh for uh for arnold and uh yeah it was really good thank you thank you uh yeah it would be funny if we actually did that it would be we could dress up Mike next time uh crystal wd fan very excited about the daredevil series jessica jones and daredevil were my favorite on the mc u Netflix series yeah i think people are i mean there's a lot of hype by into those that that series was beloved and i think that like mike said i think it was a smart move to go back there yeah nick vaughan cap four looks fun to me based on the recent trailers call me gullible i suppose the trailers have been okay right i mean it's not terrible it looks real heavy like visual effects. But again, you got guys flying,
Starting point is 01:55:55 hulks, leaders, it needs to be visual effects heavy. But when they're saying it's back to the tone of winter soldier, I don't know. We'll see how that plays. Fingers crossed. Artem, Terror Fier is going to win Best Comedy at Golden Globes. Yeah, yeah. Simon's Hection, I'm eagerly anticipating what Mr. Terrific looks like on the big screen. He's basically Iron Man, but instead of a suit of
Starting point is 01:56:17 armor, he has three shiny balls. Is that true? There are T-s spheres. They're his little robots that fly. around him okay so but is he normal guy he's the smartest man on the planet oh is he like second smartest they call him so he so he so he's so he's so he's so he's iron man kind of who came who was there first iron man oh well mr tripping is based on a character from the thirties from the 40s the justice society so it's generations changed of him captain penis since seeing a complete unknown it's my top of 24 it's in my top five i think i think i think it's in my top five um crystal d w fan eat that rocca handsome rancum dracula was in 2020 i believe it's
Starting point is 01:57:03 definitely worth a watch to which he then follows up and says speaking of cap i think sam from baby girl would make a decent steve rogers he at least has the look they i mean they got no more captain america though right i mean i mean here's the thing if cap comes back and he's cap and he's cap And they explained where he was all this time. But he's old now, right? Yeah. I can't figure it out. I know.
Starting point is 01:57:31 I mean, maybe they will. You hope that they're going to figure it out. Pete Parker 2288. Would Thor, Love and Thunder, would it would have been better without Zeus? No. He was a one, he was like, what, two scenes? Yeah, I mean, that was a terrible scene. But like, no, it's the tone of the movie.
Starting point is 01:57:48 The movie is essentially it wants, it, it's a Saturday Night Live sketch, the entire movie. and then they decide, oh, no, no, we need to have to have some heart. And we're going to actually put like a serious tone at the like the last five or 10 minutes. And it's like too late. You like that movie. Right. I did. I did.
Starting point is 01:58:04 You're the one person. I do think that they were like, okay, let's do cancer. Right. That is from the comics, but it's right. But still, it's like dancing dogs who says, so that's it for Kang. What a lame send off. Yeah. Man, that situation is so crazy.
Starting point is 01:58:25 I know. I know it was. Just shown off on the animated show. Yeah, we beat them. Those terrible bad guys that everyone was fearing. Yeah. Haskill, 420. Hey, what's the funniest coolest Christmas gift that you got, Steph?
Starting point is 01:58:44 Funniest? I didn't get anything super funny, but coolest was my mom got me this one, like, purse that carries your water bottle in it and it was really cute i was like that's an interesting find mom i got a an incredible foot massager oh that's okay yeah it's one i stick my feet in this thing and it's glorious you know you're sticking your balls in there all right so fasha bruta you seen crovid saying he wants to do nice guys too i was on howard stern i did see that um i'm sure Ethan Irwin would be interested
Starting point is 01:59:21 to hear that. I mean, he's a producer. I feel like everyone wants to do a nice guys too that's been involved in nice guys. I'm sure. Ethan was a producer on that movie. So I'd love to see that happen for his sake and see if they can actually do it. I don't know if it'll, I don't even generated enough money to get a sequel
Starting point is 01:59:37 game. Right. Django Blackfire. Hey guys. Happy New Year. It's funny that Nicholas Holt basically played the same character twice last year, Noseferatu and Renfield. He kind of did, except well he just kind of turned into yeah i mean i it's funny because i was looking at comparing him to um canner reeves obviously in frances fortcobos because they're playing the same role and
Starting point is 02:00:03 nicholas holt is just i loved canneries more than any i love canneries are my favorite people in the world but no one's going to argue that nicholas holt is not a much better actor so um i'm excited to see that movie it's it's good it's i think you can get it can you get it Can you get it now? Runfield? No, no, no, no. No, it's fraud. Yeah, I mean, I thought I saw it.
Starting point is 02:00:25 No, no, it's, yeah. It's not. PLD says, Mike's just happy I'm not coming after him anymore. Still willing to write the unsanctioned Kalinowski slash Bateman Gauntlet match, hashtag Action Army. Still, after all these years, Mike, can't get away from it. That was, the flash thing is still the best. Geek Load Stars.
Starting point is 02:00:45 My most anticipated for 2025 is 28 years later. that's on my list. That's on my list. Definitely not my most anticipated, but I'm excited to see it. Yeah, that's on my list for sure. I think we have just a couple left. Bam 86. In the books, Oz is a real place. In the movie, they made it a dream for some stupid reason. Okay. Well, there you go. And then, I mean, because clearly in Wicked, it's a real place. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And then Mike Joyce. Christian, did you ever finish baby girl? I did not, because I was watching it with my wife. we stopped watching it because she got ill. So we never finished. We never finished it.
Starting point is 02:01:23 All right. We didn't hit 100, but we hit 94 guys. That's pretty damn good on our first show back. So 94 questions really taken out Roka by almost over 20. And now it's only Koi and Winston with the opportunity. Winston gets his fourth shot to try to win it this week. But Mike, Steph, thank you guys so much for joining me. here today.
